Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Michael and Dragon, I think Second Amendment commercials with
Kanjanamo local sponsors would be more appropriate now than ever.
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:37):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope County says, insert
audio here, you have been horned. Listen at your own risks.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
It is Friday. It is time for taxpayer relief shots.
And we call them taxpayer relief shots. Primarily because somebody's
breaking in your house. You're more than welcome to shoot them.
In centaise accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually, hopefully
you'll save the taxpayers money. Or as we've been told,
I would.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Highly suggest that if a looter breaks into your home,
comes into your home while you're there to steal stuff,
that you take your gun and you shoot him. You
shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese, because
you know what, that's one load that won't break into
anyone else's home.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
And currently my favorite. However, I've not heard another one yet.
This is currently my favorite one.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
They have guns.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
And if you try to bring into their homes to
steal to set fires, I'm.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Highly recommending they blow you back out of the house
with their guns.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
So leave the community alone. Or Apparently Sheriff Grady decided
that he needed to well, no, no, let me let
me do this.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
One of them is a spoiler. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so
I think you want the he asked.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah, that's that's exactly what I was thinking.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Yes, yeah, the other one that's brand new. We can
play it now if you wish.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I was looking at the list I want to do.
He asked to be shot first. Cheff Grady also says this,
he asked.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
To be shot, He demanded to be shot, and then
he forced.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Us to shoot him, so we obliged him. So we
obliged him. I think that one is my favorite, depending
on what this one is, because we have a new one.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or shoot
my deputies because if you do, we're gonna shoot you
a lot.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Ooh, okay, let's take a pull. Uh Do you like
that one?

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or shoot
my deputies because if you do, we're gonna shoot you
a lot.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
That's pretty darn good. But or do you like this
one better?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
He asked to be shot, He demanded to be shot,
and then he forced us.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
To shoot him, so we obliged him. So we obliged him.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
And I just want to make sure it's clear that
these are two separate incidents. This is not like this
is the same, you know, the same shooting that happened
to have happened. This is these are completely separate incidences
weeks apart, and just for.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Anything thugs that might be listening to the program today.
This is Pope County, Florida. So I would just suggest
that if you want to engage in any sort of
criminal activity, you don't do it in Pope County. Don't
do it there, don't do it there. Let's see this one.
We didn't do this one.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
If someone breaks in, and that's the possibility that they're
going to accept, is somebody going to be shooting him.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
So I will suggest not to break.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
In the homes.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, I mean that one's good, but that's not nearly
as good.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
As don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab or
shoot my deputies, because if you do, we're gonna shoot
you a.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Lot, a lot. We're gonna shoot you a lot, or
we may just give you what you ask for. He
asked to be shocked, he demanded to be shot, and
then he forced us.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
To shoot him, so we obliged him.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Okay, Dragon, I'll just start here at the list. I
have an award win. It looks like it's the same thing.
Is this the story, that's the story? Oh, that's the story. Okay,
Well that's the top of the list. Let's just go
through the story.

Speaker 9 (05:17):
We start tonight with breaking news out of Polk County.
This is night's side I memory tomorrow in for Dave
in Courtney, a Pope County deputy and a Barhow police
officer were shot after exchanging gunfire with a man they
say held his parents hostage all day. The shooting happened
in Bartow around five point thirty this evening near Fort
Blunt Street and North Broadway Avenue after the man's father.

Speaker 10 (05:40):
Called nine to one one for help.

Speaker 9 (05:43):
Tin Tampa based Chris Hurst has been following this story
all night and he is live at the scene. And Chris,
you have an update on those officers' conditions.

Speaker 11 (05:52):
Yeah, Well, both are doing well all things considered. One
had a bullet stopped by his vest. The other was
driving this su which officers and deputies are still pouring
over for evidence.

Speaker 10 (06:04):
He shot at the SUV before.

Speaker 11 (06:06):
Sheriff Greedy Judd says that suspect was soon shot dead.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
And I can tell you there were a lot of
shots fired.

Speaker 11 (06:14):
Sheriff Judd saying a playing that once suspect Wayne Vols
fired at deputies and Bartow officers, they returned the favor.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
He said that he was Jesus and God.

Speaker 11 (06:24):
Earlier in the day, Judd says Vols held his parents
hostage in this home in Fort Meade and pistol whipped
his mother, whom neighbors say is recovering from a stroke.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
And late this afternoon, Dad said I need to go
to work. I'll work at Loew's in Bartow. Wayne said, well,
I need to stop some places.

Speaker 11 (06:44):
Anyway, Dad got into work and called nine one one.
A quick search ended nearby when Judd says, Vols open
fire on this suv before shooting the Bartow officer and
then dying in the firefight.

Speaker 12 (06:56):
Well, being there as good Friday, you know, life is
a vaper. You never know at any point time somebody
this could happen.

Speaker 11 (07:06):
Mike McMillan runs the drive through coffee shop where it happened,
saying three employees were inside.

Speaker 12 (07:11):
They thought at one point time that he was going
to enter the facility. Hand ran by the door, but
he didn't enter the building.

Speaker 11 (07:18):
As for the deputy and officer shot, both were taken
to the hospital and we're told are in good spirits.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
Deputy Alexander he's expected to make a full recovery. He
looked as Sergeant in the eye at the scene and said, Sergeant,
I believe I'll take a few days vacation till I
heal up.

Speaker 11 (07:37):
Wow, what a response there from that deputy. Now, the
sheriff says Voles has a history of drug use and
committing crimes. The case now is with the State Attorney's
office to confirm if the deadly use of force was justified.

Speaker 10 (07:50):
Live in Bartow, chris Hurst, ten, Tampa Bay.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Can you possibly imagine if in almost any of these cases,
if I'm talking about Pope count Sheriff Grady, if you
took it to the district attorney and the district attorney said,
I don't think this shooting by the Pope County Sheriff's
office was justified. How long do you think it take

(08:16):
Sheriff Grady to go knock on the DA's door and
have have a little chat, Just have a little chat
that man. That was That was a great one, as
damn fine as a damn fine taxpayer relief shop. Right there, dragon,
Let's see a sixteen year old arm with a gun.

Speaker 8 (08:38):
Hm.

Speaker 13 (08:40):
The teenage boy is from Toronto and succumbed to his
injuries after spending more than a day on life support.
We're also learning that body warn camera footage from the
scene has now been reviewed by investigators and the SIU
confirms there was an exchange of gunfire. Security video that
captured part of the traffic stop on Sunday night shows
the red two door Infinity boxed in by police cruisers.

(09:03):
One officer appears to be chatting with someone at the
driver's window. A second officer is standing on the opposite
side with two young people when they suddenly scatter and
take cover. This is when the two officers open fire.
The vehicle was riddled with bullets. Ontario's police watchdog, which

(09:24):
is investigating the interaction and whether the officer's use of
force was justified, confirms there was a shootout, telling me
shots were fired from inside the car and a firearm
has been recovered.

Speaker 14 (09:36):
It is traumatic for officers to be involved in it.
When they unfortunately have to use lethal force. It's going
to be something that sticks with them for the rest
of their lives. You know, they're human beings. It's the
last thing they want to do.

Speaker 13 (09:48):
I'm told the officers body worn cameras have also been
reviewed and based on the footage, the SIU alleges the
teen who died is the one who fired at police.
We spoke to a family member from the hospital who
tells me they are distraught, heartbroken and desperate for answers.

Speaker 10 (10:07):
Five other young.

Speaker 13 (10:08):
People were also in the car when it was pulled over,
and we're handcuffed at the scene. Toronto Police now confirm
a twenty year old man in fourteenage girls. They're all
facing gun related charges.

Speaker 15 (10:19):
Now.

Speaker 13 (10:19):
Toronto Police say the officers pulled over the red Infinity
due to a missing license plate on the front. At
this point, we still don't know who the car belongs to.
In North York, Shawnahan City.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
News, well, it's just off. Let's see him armed robber
well the OK Corral.

Speaker 16 (10:41):
First on the news at six o'clock. We are learning
more about that deadly confrontation between a gunman in Batridge
police officers early Easter morning. Thirty four year old Kevin
Valleyant has been identified as the person shot.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Issues.

Speaker 16 (10:53):
Destiny Beastley here with more on what was happening in
the minutes before the shooting.

Speaker 17 (10:57):
We are pretty sious they're carefully looking to every piece
of evidence to see what led to the shooting.

Speaker 10 (11:06):
The reviewing videos to VELAs that was there.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
We had body camp.

Speaker 17 (11:10):
Thirty four year old Kevin Vaalian was shot and killed
in an exchange of gunfire with Baton Rouge police officers
around three o'clock Sunday morning at the Super six Inn
in suites off Grynadale Avenues. The motel manager told WVRZ
he called the police after guests told him Valiant was
robbing them at gunpoint.

Speaker 18 (11:32):
LG.

Speaker 17 (11:33):
McNeely with BRPD did not reveal who shot first, but
he did say they found more than one gun on Valion.

Speaker 19 (11:41):
We had two guns that was retreated from an individual.

Speaker 17 (11:44):
McNeely says. The two officers were not hurt in the incident,
but they are placed unpaid administrative leave.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
They are again on admin the per departmental policy.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Again, that doesn't mean they did anything wrong, standard procedure,
he says.

Speaker 17 (12:00):
As part of their policy, they're conducting a psychological evaluation
on the officers involved, along with an internal investigation. Valiant
was arrested in twenty nineteen in Saint Lendry Parish on
attempted first degree murder, treason irrelated charges into shooting incidents,
including one in which he eluded police in a high

(12:23):
speed chase. In both cases, bullets struck property, but no
people were injured. The outcome of that case was not
immediately available.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
The hotel manager told.

Speaker 17 (12:36):
News two that he confronted Valian when he started causing trouble,
telling him he would call police if he did not
leave Michael.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
And didn't turn out too well for him, did it?
Man brings, well, this is a new one.

Speaker 20 (12:51):
And Baltimore County Police confirm officers shot and killed a
suspect armed with a bow and arrow this afternoon Baltimore County.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
That's in Maryland, and the US slitor in Maryland is
more concerned about an illegal alien from Maryland and runs
down to El Salvador while this goes on in his state.

Speaker 20 (13:13):
Baltimore County Police confirmed officers shot and killed her suspect
armed with a bow and arrow this afternoon in our
Butis and the incident caused lockout, said several nearby schools
this morning, and now the Attorney General's office is investigating.

Speaker 8 (13:26):
Yeah, I seene I spoke to a homeowner who says
she found bullet holes in the side.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Of her house.

Speaker 8 (13:33):
On this quiet corner at Leeds Avenue in our Budis.

Speaker 21 (13:36):
It's usually a pretty safe neighborhood.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Mary Bunting.

Speaker 10 (13:38):
They came over here wondering.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
About safety after her house became part of a crime scene.

Speaker 21 (13:43):
I mean, we usually don't have like shootings in the
arbutus area.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
Bunting says, someone called police after seeing a man armed
with a bow and arrow.

Speaker 21 (13:51):
He was from over there and it went this way
through the glass.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
Police dispatch captures the details of that call from one twenty.

Speaker 21 (14:01):
Haven't called the malchine a going arrow at cars driving by.

Speaker 22 (14:05):
That's likely going to be a black mail in the thirty's
wearing a great T shirt in the jeens.

Speaker 8 (14:09):
With a black According to Baltimore County Police, plain clothes
and uniform officers arrived and quote responded to the actions
of the armed subject.

Speaker 21 (14:18):
The gentleman turned around and fired to iro towards the
police officer, and then the officer opened fire.

Speaker 8 (14:25):
Police said that officer is a detective with the department.

Speaker 10 (14:29):
Meanwhile, oh, it could have been a lot worse.

Speaker 8 (14:31):
Bunting, who rents out the home to tenants, shows Fox
forty five the aftermath.

Speaker 21 (14:35):
And it ran into her TV cabinet and it went
through a couple of the walls in the cabinet.

Speaker 10 (14:42):
But I did find where it had stopped.

Speaker 21 (14:43):
And they had found the ammunition in there.

Speaker 8 (14:46):
So far Baltimore County Police have not released the person's
name who was shot or the detective involved. The case
has been turned over to the Attorney General's Office per protocol.

Speaker 21 (14:56):
I'm just like, you know, really, you could have been
a lot worse.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
I mean, if she home, dang shot the TV. That's
pretty bad and this stereotypical.

Speaker 23 (15:08):
Sorry, in Melbourne now, a man has been shot dead
by police in the city's west started charging in offices
with a knife.

Speaker 11 (15:14):
Holly serins is there for us at the moment, So
what more do we know?

Speaker 24 (15:16):
Holly, Well, peek, We've got a bit of a situation
going on here to.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Be I assume this is Australia. We get a lot
of knife tax pray relief shots from Australia. I think
Australia needs to enact common sense knife control.

Speaker 10 (15:33):
Honest.

Speaker 24 (15:34):
We're in Melbourne's West here in Footscray. So police were
called right here to this corner right here last night
about nine pm. We're outside of Footscrape Plaza to report
that a man was armed with a knife. When the
officers got here, they demanded that he dropped the knife.
He refused to do so and instead charged at them.
Prompting them to shoot him. Now, paramedics came to the
scene and attempted to revive the man but were unable

(15:55):
to do so and he died.

Speaker 25 (15:55):
At the scene.

Speaker 24 (15:56):
So investigations are still now underway. There is no detail
about the man who died here last night, but investigations
are still ongoing and police are due to give more
details this morning.

Speaker 10 (16:07):
But just in the past.

Speaker 24 (16:08):
Fifteen minutes or so, Pete, which is why we're a
bit delayed getting to you. I'm sorry, but we had
a situation here where a man is just smashed in
all of the bus stops just while we've been waiting
to come to you, this one here, as you can
see down the road as well, he was smashing them in.
He's then attempted to smash the Commonwealth bank.

Speaker 10 (16:24):
Across the road.

Speaker 24 (16:25):
Police have just arrived on the scene here, so this
is exactly the same location where the man was shot
dead last night by police. So a very active situation
here in the moment. Police have just arrived in the
last couple of minutes.

Speaker 26 (16:37):
All right, thank you, Holly, appreciate the update.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I've stayed down under. They're back right crazy. Let's see.

Speaker 27 (16:46):
They began with a developing story out of the South
Bay where an oranged man was shot and killed by
twoli Vesta police. It happened during a standoff in Benita
earlier this morning and sending a police homicide detectives are
now investigating. Our Jennifer Franco is joining us live in
Chulavista with the latest.

Speaker 28 (17:03):
Jennifer, Yeah, that's right, Zarah Good evening to un Perk
County protocol, the San Diego Police Department is leading the
investigation into this incident, which has left one neighborhood in shock.

Speaker 18 (17:20):
I just saw all the cop cars. There must have
been at least twenty cars out here, you know. They
were all in front of my house, in front of
OL's house, across the street, they were everywhere. So, I mean,
it was obvious that something big was going on.

Speaker 10 (17:33):
Lynn Johnson described, Well.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
It was obvious that something big was going on. What
was that big thing that was going on behind tig
And you'll hear the rest of the story.

Speaker 22 (18:00):
Michael, Your ABC news break is so pathetic. They came
out and said that the march numbers from Trump had
to be readjusted from two thirty two to one eighty.
Some we'd never heard Biden's adjusted numbers for jobs the
whole four years. How pathetic is these news organizations pathetic?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Incredibly pathetic.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
I would say that, yes, we did get adjustment numbers
during the Biden administration, but I will say it, I
don't believe it was prevalent in the ABC News that
we take.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
No and whenever there were adjustments, we talked about it.

Speaker 8 (18:36):
But correct.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Yeah, but the the legacy media didn't emphasize it. I'm
not sure. I'm not sure I agreed. I'm not sure
they ever addressed it. If it was, it was a
very fleeting comment like April's numbers were revised downward, like
no percentage.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Right, We talked about it, for sure, because we would
be seeing it on Fox News going oh wow, that's
very interesting. And then I don't recalling the other mainstreams
tying on it either.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
So let's go back. The police shoot and kill an
armed man. Well, let's just do.

Speaker 27 (19:11):
This and begin with a developing story out of the
South Bay where an armed man was shot and killed
by Tulavista police. It happened during a standoff in Benita
earlier this morning, and standing a police homicide detectives are
now investigating our Jennifer Franco is joining us live in
Cheulavista with the latest.

Speaker 18 (19:29):
Jennifer.

Speaker 10 (19:33):
Yeah, that's right, Zara, good evening.

Speaker 28 (19:35):
To un Perk County protocol, the San Diego Police Department
is leading the investigation into this incident, which has left
one neighborhood in shock.

Speaker 18 (19:46):
I just saw all the cop cars. There must have
been at least twenty cars out here, you know. They
were all in front of my house, in front of
OL's house, across the street. They were everywhere, So, I mean,
it was obvious that something big was going on.

Speaker 28 (20:00):
Johnson describes the scene outside her home during a swat
standoff that turned deadly Saturday morning. The San Diego Police
Department confirms Tula Vista police officers responded to calls for
a family disturbance involving a firearm and the fourteen hundred
block of Country Vista's Lane and Bonita just before six.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
I was six, but I didn't hear anything.

Speaker 28 (20:19):
Police arrived to find several family members hiding outside the
home and were notified this suspect had access to multiple firearms.

Speaker 10 (20:27):
She was crying off and on quite a bit. The wife,
I think it was the wife.

Speaker 28 (20:32):
Tulavista police report a fifty six year old man came
out of the house with his hands in his pockets
and police ordered him to put his hands in the air.

Speaker 18 (20:40):
She said that that he was just like going crazy,
and she came out of the house and she came
down here and she called the police.

Speaker 28 (20:55):
Police say as the man removed his hands from his pockets,
he dropped a firearm on the steps of the home.
He then sat down on the steps and put the
handgun in his lap while police were giving him commands
to step away from the firearm.

Speaker 10 (21:07):
Neighbors say they are stunned this happened.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
I ever heard anything, you know, which is what surprised me
so much.

Speaker 28 (21:14):
Several minutes of negotiations took place as Tulavista police officers
continue to tell the man to put his hands in
the air, but they say he kept the firearm in
his lap. After several minutes of negotiations failed, police deployed
a less lethal beambag round. That's when the man fell
backwards and the gun fell out of his lap onto
the ground. The man then picked up the gun and
pointed it at officers, leading three Tulavista police officers to

(21:38):
fire their rifles, hitting the man. He was taken to
the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Speaker 14 (21:43):
It touches everything, touches everybody, it is said.

Speaker 28 (21:50):
And authorities report that the three officers who fired their
weapons have been with the Chilavista Police Department for.

Speaker 10 (21:57):
Eleven seven and five years.

Speaker 28 (21:59):
They we're all wearing body cameras that were activated during
the incidents. That's the very latest from here in Tilla Vista.
I'm Jennifer Franco. I'll send it back to you.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
All right, Uh, let's see, all right. Interesting a woman's head.

Speaker 29 (22:19):
One man is dead after an officer involved shooting following
a reported domestic violence incident in Farmington early Monday morning.
I'm my Constantino in the neighborhood where it all happened.
Officials shared with us what they know so far.

Speaker 30 (22:31):
This is a very serious problem. In Utah.

Speaker 29 (22:34):
At around one fifty five am, officers responded to the
area of Lupine Way and Foxglove Road for a report
of a man holding a pistol too a woman's head.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a handgun
and a woman outside of a home. Kimmy Wolf communications
specialists with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition says situations like these.

Speaker 30 (22:52):
Are common rates of domestic violence in Utah. They mirror
the nationwide statistics, which is one in three women one
in four men will experience a report.

Speaker 29 (23:04):
Farmington please say they commanded the man to drop his
weapon multiple times, but he refused.

Speaker 30 (23:09):
In twenty twenty four, twenty four percent of Utahs said
that they didn't think that domestic violence was a serious issue,
and that's really heartbreaking.

Speaker 29 (23:21):
Police say one officer fired his weapon and hit the man.

Speaker 10 (23:24):
No one else, including the woman, was injured.

Speaker 29 (23:26):
Joel Johnson with the Department of Health and Human Services
told me about their annual survey on domestic violence.

Speaker 25 (23:32):
One of the questions is have you been hit by
a partner? Hit, slapped, pushed, kicked in any way? In
the last year, fourteen percent of Utahans that answer the
survey answered yes to that question. Twenty percent of those
respondents were female and nine percent of those respondents were male.
We're seeing a little bit of a decline in twenty

(23:53):
twenty four, but then the first quart of twenty twenty
five at increased.

Speaker 29 (23:57):
Davis County is taking over the investigator enter, the officer involved,
critical incent.

Speaker 16 (24:02):
We want to sure the community that there is no
ongoing threats to the public safety.

Speaker 8 (24:07):
This is an isolated incident.

Speaker 25 (24:08):
We do want to let people know that, you know,
if you're in a situation like that, we do want
you to get help. There is the Utah Domestic Violence
Hotline that you can call. It's one eight hundred eight
ninety seven five four sixty five.

Speaker 29 (24:20):
And Farmington maya constantinow Fox thirteen years Utah.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Now, I don't know what the context was for the question,
but the fact that only twenty four percent think that,
I'm not sure what they mean by the answer. Only
twenty four percent think that domestic violence is a serious issue.
I would think one hundred percent of people think that
domestic violence is a serious issue. Now serious issue meaning
number of cases or just a singular act of domestic violence.

(24:48):
That was a weird comment on that story, Bubo shoot
and kill a man who had just done something else.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
We are learning more about the man who was shot
and killed by police.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
He stabbed an officer.

Speaker 12 (25:01):
This happened outside of a Louisville apartment complex.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
So and we're supposed to they're supposed to shoot back.

Speaker 31 (25:09):
B DRB's Dalton God be spoke with some people who
live in those apartments, So Dalton, did these people know
this man?

Speaker 19 (25:19):
Yeah, Allan they did. In fact, several of the neighbors
that I talked with today said that he lived here
in these apartments. They also told me they would see
him from time to time walking around this grassy area,
and it wasn't uncommon to notice that he was acting odd. Regardless,
the people who live here are feeling shocked after what

(25:39):
happened yesterday. Considering otherwise, this is a very quiet place.
This apartment complex, tucked away in the Crescent Hill neighborhood
is quiet.

Speaker 15 (25:52):
There's been no disturbances here, you know, in this complex
or in this area.

Speaker 10 (25:57):
This is a very very quiet neighborhood.

Speaker 19 (25:58):
But this quiet pills in comparison to what happened here
on Easter Sunday.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Shot male subject was a construsted d.

Speaker 7 (26:07):
Fifth Division Officers from LMPD were dispatched to thirty three
oh one Arterburn Avenue on a male subject who was
possibly intoxicated who was yelling at neighbors. Another call for
service came in saying that he had broken out windows
in the apartment complex.

Speaker 19 (26:22):
Louisville Metro Police responded to those calls and found a
man outside the apartments with a knife. Police say moments later,
the man stabbed an officer, and another officer, who we
now know is Benjamin Klingenfus, shot the man in the head.

Speaker 10 (26:37):
He died at the hospital.

Speaker 32 (26:39):
I had brought my dog out and I noticed that
he was screaming. He was over there, yelling at hisself,
causing a scene.

Speaker 19 (26:45):
Sir Stephanie Panter was walking her dog Sunday when she
noticed the man's strange behavior and asked her fiance to
come outside.

Speaker 32 (26:52):
He was trying to instigate her, you know. She didn't
feed any attention to him. So he turned around and
we came back in, and we left right at twelve o'clock,
and sounds like the calls started coming in a little
before then, and things escalated.

Speaker 19 (27:06):
Panther and other neighbors who asked to stay anonymous tell
us that man lived here and that the strange behavior
wasn't uncommon.

Speaker 32 (27:14):
But he would do some odd things, like he would
stand over there and.

Speaker 10 (27:17):
He would talk to hisself.

Speaker 32 (27:18):
He would lay out in the grass for a couple hours,
just some odd behaviors.

Speaker 15 (27:24):
He was always polite, okay, I never you know had
a personal issue with him. You know, I just knew
that he possibly had some issues because he would walk
around talking to himself.

Speaker 19 (27:35):
Now, busted windows and what's left of a crime scene
tell a story that's unusual for this quiet street.

Speaker 15 (27:42):
I've never seen the police out here for any reason.

Speaker 32 (27:46):
It's kind of scary that it did happen here, and
you know the way things escalated, it's very different.

Speaker 19 (27:55):
We are still waiting to learn the name of that man, however,
foul In. In the next ten business days, we will
get a chance to see the body camera footage from
l ANDPD.

Speaker 31 (28:07):
And it sounds like it was a scary situation for
quite a few people.

Speaker 10 (28:10):
All right, Dalton, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
When they get the bodycam footage, there'll be another entire
news story for them. Uh dragon, let's take a break here.
More taxpayer release shots.

Speaker 26 (28:19):
Next, tomm I was asked, why don't you just arrest
sanctuary city leaders who are aiding in a bedding and
protecting illegals from getting deported, and he said, just wait
till you see what's coming. Do you think Mike Keith
Johnson and Governor Pulis should be worried? Be interesting?

Speaker 3 (28:41):
They probably should be worried, but they probably aren't worried
because they figure out that it's good pr I'll stand
up to Trump. That's what they think. We're doing taxpayer
relief shots. Let's see Popo shoot and kill a man.
That will turn about fair play.

Speaker 33 (28:57):
We're continuing our breaking news cupboards right now. A suspect
is dead after we're shooting, and two officers were injured
in fair Oaks, Virginia.

Speaker 34 (29:05):
Yeah, thankfully they're expected to be okay physically. Fairfax Coney
please told us a little more than thirty minutes ago.
This all started as a routine traffic stopper. Katy Lesso
was there tonight and spoke to a witness as those
shots were fired. Katie.

Speaker 35 (29:20):
Yeah, and a lot of people have just been out
here trying to figure out what is going on. As
you mentioned, two police officers are in the hospital recovering
from their injuries, but a thirty six year old man
we are told is dead. Now, I want to give
you a live look at the scene here.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
You can see still a lot.

Speaker 35 (29:32):
We are pretty far back from where this actually happened,
but if you zoom in you can see that there
is a car straight down the middle of what you
are looking at right now. It's a great car, and
this is the car we believe is the vehicle that
the man who was killed was inside of when all
of this happened. Now, this was around two thirty this afternoon.
You can see that car there on the screen. Police
obviously have this whole area taped off. If you take

(29:54):
a look at some video from the chopper, you can
also see there appears to be a gun on top
of the hood of that car.

Speaker 10 (30:00):
I believe that is the.

Speaker 35 (30:00):
Gun that that man may have had on him.

Speaker 10 (30:03):
Now let's take you through what police have told us
at this point.

Speaker 35 (30:06):
So around two thirty this afternoon, police go to stop
the man who they say was driving this gray car.

Speaker 10 (30:11):
They pull him over.

Speaker 35 (30:12):
They say he was acting or ratic, that's according to police.
He wouldn't give them his ID or his name, but
he told them he had a gun, which they then
saw on his side in a holster, and they told
him not to touch that gun. Well, at some point
a second officer responds here to the scene. The two
officers are very close to the door, according to police,
when the man inside start shooting at the officers, hitting
the officers in their arms. Both officers are expected to survive.

(30:35):
This is when a third officer who had been behind
those two officers, gets involved and apparently shoots and kills
the man, who we now have been told.

Speaker 10 (30:42):
Is thirty six years old.

Speaker 35 (30:43):
But I spoke to a person who was here in
the area after those shots were fired.

Speaker 10 (30:47):
Take a listen to the commotion.

Speaker 35 (30:49):
He described of what unfolded next.

Speaker 36 (30:51):
All of these like police cars, they all came after,
and like all of the cameras and stuff they were
over there. And then so they came in and there
was just like a couple of ambuluses and a couple
of police cars. So I didn't know, like was like
shaws or anything. I thought it's like somebody had an
emergency or something. And then like all of these police
cars and stuff came after.

Speaker 35 (31:13):
Now I can tell you there is police body camera
footage that is being reviewed by officers and the chief
here at the scene, and they were going to take
that back and that will usually be released to the
public within thirty days. But again, one man has died
out here. Two police officers in the hospital with gunshot
wounds but are expected to survive. We will continue to
bring you updates as we get them in for Affex County.
I'm Katie Lesso back to you.

Speaker 33 (31:34):
Yeah, very busy day for Fairfax County police officers.

Speaker 10 (31:39):
Different scenes, high school traffic, stop.

Speaker 15 (31:43):
Wow.

Speaker 33 (31:43):
All right, Katie, thank you and stay with WUSA nine
as we worked to learn more about what led up
to this shooting. For updates anytime, download the free WUSA
nine app on your phone.

Speaker 34 (31:53):
We can also watch continuing coverage streaming on WUSA nine Plus.
You can download Plus and You're Smart TV.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
And by download that app. Download the app. All right,
let's see, we'll start this one now, we might get
it in.

Speaker 23 (32:06):
We are expecting more info today after a Walmart parking
lot turned into a crime scene overnight. It happened just
after nine point thirty last night off Highway eighty one
in Decatur. Chris Sodogy has more from the scene on
what we know right now.

Speaker 37 (32:21):
As of this morning, there were still questions about the
encounter and why officers decided to use deadly for us.
What we do know is they showed up around nine
to forty last night on a shoplifting call, encountered the
man in the parking lot that led to a chase
on foot over to the grassy area at the edge
of the parking lot where the shooting happened. This is
video from overnight showing the crime scene investigators looking over

(32:44):
that area.

Speaker 10 (32:44):
While we aren't sure.

Speaker 37 (32:45):
The specifics of the threat the man posed, we know
he was shot by police. According to the chief of
police here in Decatur, the two officers tried to render aid,
but the forty six year old man would die at
the hospital.

Speaker 10 (32:57):
We do not have his identification.

Speaker 37 (32:59):
Yet, and we're not even sure how or even if
he was armed. The chiefs said they will be reviewing
the body camera before they can tell us exactly well
what led up to the shots of being fired.

Speaker 38 (33:09):
That's some of the things we're still working out at
this particular time. Once we're able to pull all the
body camera video and everything, we'll have a little bit
better idea of exactly what took place with that encounter
between the officers and the individual.

Speaker 37 (33:24):
Chief also said neither officer was hurt. Both will be
placed on administrative leave as his standard procedure. The Texas
Rangers Law Enforcement Agency now has control of this investigation.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Well, there you got it. Tax Player release shots for today.
The only thing that we did hear that we probably
should here at some point, is that you know what?

Speaker 11 (33:45):
His sister, Rochelle acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
They should have called the police.
