Speaker 1 (00:00):
Caution you were about to experience. The Taxpayer Relief Shots
segment on the situation with Michael Brown.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
We did not necessarily relish.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
The death of the criminal, but we do celebrate the
god given and constitutional right to self defense and saving
the taxpayer the expense of three hots and a cot.
So what all you punk's out there, If you're thinking
about breaking into someone's home, that person may have a
forty four magnum which is the most powerful hanging in
the world and will blow you clean back out the door.

(00:31):
Still thinking about breaking the law.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Then you have to ask yourself this question. Do I
feel lucky? Do you? It is Friday, and it is
the nine o'clock hour, and so we are going to
do taxpayer relief shots. We do this every week because
we think that we ought to take some time out
to kind of counterbalance all the anti gun, all the

(00:56):
anti self defense, all the bull crap that the cabal
continues to spue. Many politicians, well the cabal includes politicians,
all of these y'all who to keep telling us that,
you know, like Hollywood elites, we want security for ourselves,
but you know, you can't have your security, and all
the politicians want security for themselves. But you know, Colorado

(01:18):
has passed like twenty two pieces of legislation over the
past couple of years. Do you feel twenty two times safer?
Or maybe it was twelve or twelve or twenty two.
Maybe I'm just le sick, But do you feel safer? No,
because none of these laws meaning thing. So we celebrate
the God give and right of self defense, the natural
law of self defense. We call them taxpayer release shops

(01:39):
primarily because somebody's breaking in your house here more than
welcome to shoot them. In Center a's Ac County, we.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Prefer that you do actually hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Or also I would tell them, if you value your life,
you probably shouldn't do that. In Pole County because the
people of Polk County like guns.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
They have guns.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And
if you try to break into their homes to.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Steal to set fires, I'm highly.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Recommending they blow you back out of the house with
your guns, so leave the community alone. Or I would
tell them, if you value your life.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
As I said early in the program, I hate these computers,
you double click, you move the mouse, he takes it
off the double click, you can't move the mouse. You
got it very carefully, piece of crap equipment.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into
your home, comes into your home while you're there to
steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him.
You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese,
because you know what, that's one leader that won't break
into anyone else's home.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And as long as.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
We're roll, if someone breaks in, and that's the possibility
that they're going to accept, is somebody going to be shooting.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So I was suggest to break in the homes. I
could do these all day long. You could use a tasy,
you could use your other handgun.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
If the guy is still coming at you to get
your weapon, that is uh, you know, understandable.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Ah, like damn, he just shot his dude. Yeah, he
just shot that dude. In fact, you shout that dude
because he asked to be shot.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
He asked to be shot, He demanded to be shot,
and then he forced us to shoot him.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
So we obliged him. We obliged him, and oftentimes taxpayer
with these shots involved the defensive use of firearms by
law enforcement. Well, there's a way to avoid ending up
dead right there. Drt By simply don't attack my deputies.
Don't try to stab or shoot.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
My deputies, because if you do, we're gonna shoot you
a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
We're gonna shoot you a lot. We have several award
winners this field of Brentwood, Pennsylvania.

Speaker 7 (04:04):
We do want to get to that developing overnight news
as Alleganton County Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Brentwood.
This happened late last night. Lindsay Ward is working to
get some more information from police. She joins us live
from Pittsburgh from Alleghanton County Police headquarters with what we
know about that person who was shot?

Speaker 8 (04:22):
Heather, good morning.

Speaker 9 (04:22):
Yeah, I reached out to County police this morning hoping
to get more information as to what really happened late
last night. We do know this was a deadly home invasion.
The homeowner shot and killed the intruder. Now, County Police
homicide Unit is investigating this case, and they tell us
it was around ten Wednesday night when they learned about
a shooting on Belcrest Avenue in Brentwood. This is at

(04:43):
an apartment building. We had this as breaking news last
night at eleven. Investigators say when first responders got there,
they found the homeowner shot the intruder, who was dead
on scene. Now, at this time, we don't know if
the intruder knew the homeowner or anyone else inside that
apartment building. County Police asking anyone if you have any
information to please reach out to them. You will remain

(05:04):
anonymous if you are able to provide any tips. Again,
we're hoping to get new information from County Police and
when we do, we'll be sure to pass those details
to you. Reporting live outside of Alleghany County Police Headquarters,
Lindsay Ward Katie K News.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Leave my people alone, don't break into their homes. This
one another award winner from Detroit.

Speaker 10 (05:27):
Our top story tonight, the tables turned on two suspects
connected with a home invasion on Detroit's southwest side. One
intruder killed, another wounded, and we're learning this is just
one of three incidents taking place this week. Seven Action
News reporter Julie Vonovitch is live at police headquarters in
Detroit tonight with more details on these three intruder shootings.

Speaker 11 (05:48):
Julie, that's right, Dave.

Speaker 12 (05:50):
Homeowners in Detroit are now sending a message they're armed
and they're going to fight back. Three homes, three owners,
and three shootings all in one week, each time the
homeowner defending themselves against the bad guys.

Speaker 13 (06:06):
I think it's just a matter of the individuals, homeowners
protecting themselves and finally catching up with the criminals and
that they enough is enough and they're not going to
take it anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
M I can't like that, Let's go back to let again,
bad guys.

Speaker 13 (06:24):
I think it's just a matter of the individuals, homeowners
protecting themselves and finally catching up with the criminals and
that they enough is enough and they're not going.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
To take it anymore.

Speaker 12 (06:36):
The latest incident happened around two this morning. Q men
broke into a home on Toledo on Detroit's southwest side, armed.

Speaker 14 (06:44):
With a tire iron.

Speaker 12 (06:45):
The intruders tried to knock out the homeowner, but he
fired back with his gun. The homeowner shot them both
and killed one of them, a twenty one year old.

Speaker 11 (06:54):
The other intruder got away.

Speaker 12 (06:56):
Less than two hours earlier, around twelve thirty this morning,
another attack against a homeowner, this time on Abington on
Detroit's West Side. A woman had just pulled her car
into the garage when a man with a gun appeared
out of nowhere. She dropped her keys on the ground
as a distraction and then reached for her own gun,
says Deputy Chief Rodney Johnson.

Speaker 13 (07:17):
People are told that when faced with a situation, whether
it's a robbery or carjacking, just to drop your belongings
right there, and that's what she did, taking a few
steps back to obtain her weapon, which was a thirty
eight caliber handgun, and then she was able to fire
off several shots.

Speaker 12 (07:36):
The shots killed the man. Both of today's shootings come
less than one week after Detroit mom opened fire on
three teens who broke into her house while she was
home with her children. You saw the surveillance video of
the break in right here only on seven. Police caught
all three suspects in that case, two fourteen year olds
and a fifteen year old to Chief Johnson tells me

(08:01):
tonight that over the past three years they have noticed
an increase in the number of homeowners who are applying.

Speaker 11 (08:07):
For CPL licenses.

Speaker 12 (08:09):
Live from Detroit, Julie Bonvic seven Action.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
News, Well, I'm good to hear that there's an increasing
number of people applying for their concealed carried license. However,
I still maintain that you should not have to do
that to exercise your Second Amendment rights. Another award winner
Detroit again.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
Ping stroy tonight is police question a homeowner who shot
and killed a teenager breaking into his home. Now, this
is the fifth time and less than a month of
homeowner has opened fire in Detroit, apparently in self defense.
Seven Action News report NU for Costion. Anybody live on
the West Side to the night at the scene of
this latest shooting, I knew, what can you tell us.

Speaker 15 (08:48):
Well, Stephen, Detroit police just left here about a half
an hour ago. They were here all day, almost five
hours inside that house here on Penrod, talking to the homeowner.
Take a look at was around twelve thirty this afternoon
when that homeowner, who was alone in the house, heard
glass shattering. Detroit police say he went to see what
was going on and saw two intruders had broken a

(09:09):
window in the back of the home and one of
them was partially inside. That's when the homeowner grabbed his
handgun and fired. Both of the intruders took off, but
one of them a seventeen year old was hit. He
collapsed in the driveway and died. The other intruder took
off and police right now are still searching for him.
Investigators say at this point it's not clear if the
homeowner was a registered gun owner, but they say he

(09:32):
had a right to protect himself. You can see where
two intruders broke into this house on Penrod near Joy Road.
It happened around twelve thirty this afternoon when the homeowner
was alone inside. Investigators say he heard glass shatter and
went to see what.

Speaker 8 (09:49):
Now.

Speaker 15 (09:50):
Just a short time ago. We did try to talk
to the homeowner. We knocked on the door, but no
one answered. At this point, it's going to be up
to prosecutors to determine if this was a justified shooting.
Reporting live on the city's west side, a new Prakash
seven Ection News.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Can you catch what was important about that? The press
tried to talk to the homeowner. The homeowner wouldn't answer
the door. Smart move. When you've been involved in a shooting,
even if you think and believe it, even if you
are in the right, until you've been cleared, don't talk
to anybody. Harrison County Kentucky.

Speaker 16 (10:25):
TONI we are learning more about a deadly home invasion
in Harrison County. Police say the homeowner killed one of
the intruders. The homeowner told us two mask men attacked
him early this morning at his home on Monroe Lane
near Cynthiana. He says he did grabbed a gun and
fought back. As Sean Moody tells us, the homeowner told
us he.

Speaker 8 (10:43):
Feared for his life.

Speaker 17 (10:45):
What happened early Monday morning out here along Monroe Lane
will change a lot of people's lives.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
I just couldn't believe that was happening.

Speaker 17 (10:51):
Bill Jolly never thought he'd be attacked in his own
home and have to shoot and kill someone.

Speaker 18 (10:56):
That was either them or me. And I wanted to
make sure that I got to wake up tomorrow.

Speaker 17 (11:01):
And Mark Gross never expected he'd get a call saying
his son had been shot and killed.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
I'm lost for words.

Speaker 17 (11:08):
Say police say. Raven Edwards asked Jolly if she could
come to his house early this morning. They say her
boyfriend Marcus Gross and another man, Larry Nolan, went with her.
They say she first went inside alone, then went back outside,
returning with Gross and Nolan. Police said the two men
attacked Jolly. He says in the struggle he was able
to get a gun from his nightstand.

Speaker 18 (11:28):
One guy had me in a bear hug and the
other one was charging me, and I was able to
swing around with the guy that was on me and
shoot the other one.

Speaker 17 (11:37):
Police say Gross was hit. They say Nolan drove Gross
to Harrison Memorial Hospital, then ran off, abandoning his car.
Gross died at the hospital. Police arrested Edwards, charging her
with burglary and robbery. Mark Gross says his son has
made mistakes, but he says he's good at his court Marc.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
As you know, I mean, he's my heart, he's my
pride and Julie.

Speaker 17 (11:57):
He says, he understands why Jolly did what he did.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
A man does have a right to protect his home,
he really does. Jolly's that's pretty amazing your son's being killed.
You love your son, but you know he made a mistake,
and you acknowledge that, Yeah, the homeowner has a right
to defend himself. It's the first time I think in
all the years of doing taxpayer relief shots, I've heard

(12:22):
a victim's parents acknowledge that. Yeah, you know what, I
understand why it happened.

Speaker 17 (12:30):
He's still in shock over the whole thing, and he's
planning to stay away from his house for a little while.

Speaker 18 (12:34):
I didn't wake up this morning meaning to shoot anybody.
I woke up and did my thing and was with
my friends and came home. I didn't ask for any
of this.

Speaker 17 (12:43):
In Harrison County, Sean Moody WKYT.

Speaker 16 (12:46):
According to our news partners at the Lexidon and Harold Leader,
Nolan was arrested late this afternoon and taken to the
Bourbon County Detention Center.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
It was a good one Philadelphia. Speaking of Philadelphia and
voter fraud, how about taxpayer relief? Shot?

Speaker 19 (13:02):
Following breaking news overnight, a burst of gunfire left a
man dead in North Philadelphia. Investigators telling us that a
large metal pipe wrench found next to the man is
offering some clues as to what.

Speaker 14 (13:13):
May have happened.

Speaker 20 (13:14):
So.

Speaker 19 (13:15):
The shooting happened on the twenty one hundred block of
North twenty first around ten thirty pm. The victim, said
to be in his late twenties to early thirties, was
reportedly shot in the face.

Speaker 21 (13:25):
We're getting preliminary information from females at this time that
the male who was shot was using this large pipe
wrench to try the force entry into the property, where
he knew at least one or two of the females
that were inside, so it's possibly domestic related.

Speaker 19 (13:46):
Police noticed a man nearby acting suspiciously. They say he
was carrying a gun, so officers took that man into
custody as a possible suspect. The women inside the home
were also questioned.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Good boom uh Siena Valley, Kellifornia, one o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 22 (14:03):
Let's get a story number two now. A break in
at a Seami Valley home turned into a deadly shooting,
and it looks like the owner may have actually known
the intruder. Kick On News reporter Tina Patel is at
the scene with an update on the investigation.

Speaker 23 (14:19):
Police say they originally got a call from someone in
the neighborhood who heard five or six gun shots. As
they were responding to that, they got another call from
a woman inside this home. She said there had been
an intruder and her husband shot him. Has happened just
before one am. The homeowners are being cooperative with police.
They answered questions on scene and then went with investigators
to the station to answer more questions. What they've learned

(14:41):
is that the intruder was the woman's ex boyfriend. It's
still not clear how he got into the home. There
was no sign of forest entry. Police say the suspect
was armed with a knife, but they're not sure if
he brought that knife with him or if he grabbed
it when he entered the home. Police say the couple
in suspect had some sort of confrontation that ended with
the suspect being shot. He was taken to the hospital
where he was pronounced dead. Police are still trying to

(15:02):
figure out why he showed up here. They say it's
not the first time he's harassed his ex.

Speaker 24 (15:07):
There has been and this in the past where she
actually a temporary restraining order, and we don't know at
this point whether she ever sought a permanent restraining order,
but it sounds like there have been some altercations in
the past where he's showed up to this residence.

Speaker 23 (15:20):
There were two children and a grandparents inside asleep when
all of this happened. Fortunately they were not injured. In
Sime Valley, Tina patel Ky caw News that.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Was a good one too. Another award winner down Under.

Speaker 25 (15:34):
It's where Alan Kerr has called home for three decades,
but last night his front door is where a home
invasion came to a deadly end for a violent intruder.

Speaker 26 (15:44):
NAT male was wearing a face covering and was suffering
from a stab wound to the chest. Police attempted to
revive that person, however, he died at the scene.

Speaker 25 (15:52):
That man is Trey Laurie. Police say the twenty nine
year old had arrived with an accomplice to the sixty
six year olds home. The pair, armed with an axe,
stormed in, where.

Speaker 26 (16:03):
They've confronted the occupant and struck him multiple times with an.

Speaker 25 (16:07):
Axe, leaving Alan with a partially severed arm. Still, the
sixty six year old grandfather fought back.

Speaker 26 (16:14):
We have been informed that the occupant, in self defense
and attempting to defend himself, has armed himself with a
knife and struck the deceased to the chest and those
actions caused fatal injuries.

Speaker 25 (16:25):
Laurie's accomplice fled the crime scene near a school. Students
this morning walked straight past as offices searched bins, bushes,
drains under cars for evidence. Forensics will remain on scene
over the next twenty four hours, gathering evidence. Seven News
understands police have found an axe hidden underneath the house nearby.

(16:48):
Police seized this Toyota Corolla linked to the pair as
detectives also investigate Alan's actions and whether he used reasonable
force to defend his home and.

Speaker 26 (16:59):
In particular been in particular the conduct of the occupant
and if his conduct.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Whatever comes of it.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
You know, it's just so sad because he's got three
beautiful kids and green kids, you know, and his wife
and he died last year.

Speaker 25 (17:13):
This only adding to the grief. Now Alan has undergone
surgery for that seven arm and remains here tonight in
the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. He
has spoken with detectives today who are trying to determine
exactly why these men broke into his home. As for
that other intruder, well tonight he remains on the run.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Thank you, Jordan. So that's say Australia Notley has you know,
extraordinary strict gun control, but now they need axe control too.
Another award winner, this one's from Taylorsville, Mississippi. A good
Samaritan and Taylor's.

Speaker 27 (17:52):
Villa man is z after he allegedly tried to carjack
a person who stopped to help him on the side.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Of the road. According to police, a.

Speaker 27 (18:00):
Good Sumaritan stop to help a stranded mail driver near
the intersection of Mayfield Street and Central Street on in Taylorsville.
Please say, that's when the man who appeared to need
help tried to carjack the Good sumaritans vehicle, leading to
a struggle. During the altercation, the man was shot and
later pronounced dead at the scene.

Speaker 11 (18:19):
No charges had been.

Speaker 27 (18:20):
Filed so far against the Good Samaritan and the case
is still under investigation. The names of those involved are
not being released at this time.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Michael, last week during taxpayer relief shots, he had a
little trouble with a double click Andy click. Just remember
tax payer relief shots. Double tap that mouse, Double tap
the mouse. Here's the problem. Even when I do double
tap the mouse, if I don't instantly start the SoundBite
and the mouse even jiggles a little bit at it

(19:02):
unlocks the sound bite. Double tap, double double tap that mouse.
I'll double tap the mouse like a double tab A
few things today. Albu Let's go to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Speaker 28 (19:16):
At a popular Albuquerque hotel where police say an officer
shot and killed a woman after she stole a gun
off of a security guard.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
A call came in, sounds like a hotel. Motel, sounds
like the kind of place a rod would stay good afternoon.

Speaker 28 (19:32):
An investigation is underway at a popular Albuquerque hotel where
police say an officer shot and killed a woman after
she stole a gun off.

Speaker 11 (19:40):
Of a security guard.

Speaker 28 (19:41):
A call came in around around four this morning from
Hotel Park at the corner of Central and I twenty five.
Hotel staff requesting help removing a woman from the property
who appeared to be in a mental health crisis. The
call came in as a low priority until the woman
broke a window and began threatening people with a shard
of glass. Officers were en route when the situation escalated

(20:04):
even further.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Apparently, a supervisor of security showed up at the hotel,
and the female that they were dealing with disarmed the
security guard and took the security guard's gun and started
threatening individuals. As officers arrived, it appears that doss shots
had already been fired into an suv in the parking lot,
and the female was in the parking lot waving the firearm.

Speaker 28 (20:28):
Chief Medina says that even while the subject continued to
fire the stolen gun. Officers attempted to de escalate the situation.
They ordered her to drop the gun, but she did
not comply.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Eventually, the female became a threat to the officers. It
appears that around was fired in the direction of the officers,
has struck the suv in front of them. Officers returned fire,
and the female died on soup.

According to police, multiple officers fired at the woman. All
of them were placed on standard administrative leave. While the
incident is under investigation. No other officers or bystanders were hurt.
The chief says the woman does not have an extensive
criminal history, but does have a history of mental health episodes.
Westbound Central will remain closed throughout the day while investigators

(21:13):
process the scene. Will bring you more on the incident
as we hear from police.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I'm from Albuquerque in a long time around Colorado.

Speaker 29 (21:25):
The man Aurora police shot last night has died. Aurora
police say they were responding to a family disturbance on
East Arkansas Drive. Police had learned that a husband and
a wife were arguating, arguing excuse me, they separated the couple.
One officer was talking to the husband in the garage
and during that conversation, police say the man pulled out
a gun. Police say he would not listen to commands

(21:47):
to drop the weapon. The officer then shot the man.
The man went to the hospital he later died, and
that officer was placed on paid administrative leave during this investigation.

Speaker 23 (21:56):
That is department policy.

Speaker 2 (21:58):

(22:43):
a little after three point fifty pm Wednesday afternoon, where
they encountered an armed man. One neighbor didn't hear any
shots fired, but got a good look at the surrounding area.

Speaker 31 (22:52):
We'd just been coming and going. We've seen two sweat
teams that came different ambulances, and the ambulance would a
police officer following.

Speaker 20 (23:05):
The Chautauqua County Sheriff says the gunfire exchange happened shortly
after four pm after several attempts at de escalation from
the officers on scene. He says, two officers and a
middle aged man with a shotgun fired on each other,
resulting in emergency medical services administering first aid to two people.

Speaker 32 (23:21):
One deputy suffered minor injuries, non life threatening to his hands.
The subject later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced

Please say.

Speaker 33 (24:31):
The officer had been taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Speaker 22 (24:34):
WGN's Emmy Victor has that story.

Speaker 11 (24:38):
We just learned that the officer who was shot was
released from the hospital tonight and is expected to make
a full recovery. Dozens of shots were exchanged between police
officers and an arms suspect who was not a guest
at the hotel where the shooting occurred.

Speaker 20 (24:53):
I drove up to see what was going on, and
it's a literal crime scene, you know.

Speaker 11 (25:00):
A chaotic scene unfolded Wednesday morning outside of the Hilton
Garden Inn in Chestertown after an exchange of gunfire between
police and a suspect giving him here.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Subjectives.

Speaker 11 (25:15):
Authority say the suspect was killed and an officer was
injured as a result a plethora of shellcasings that the
scene indicated that dozens of shots were fired.

Speaker 34 (25:24):
What often goes unseen is our officers putting their lives
on the line for our community, and two of our
officers did just that this morning.

Speaker 11 (25:32):
Authority said. Someone who works at the hotel called nine
one one around eight am about a suspicious man who
was inside of the building. When police arrived, they encountered
the suspect, who was armed. The situation allegedly moved outside
and escalated to the point that both parties fired their weapons.
The suspect was shot and died at the scene. An
officer was shot and rushed to an area hospital.

Speaker 34 (25:54):
My main concern right now is our officer, and I
am happy to be able to tell you that he
did receive treatment. Is receiving treatment in an Illinois hospital,
and his prognosis looks good.

Speaker 11 (26:05):
Few details are known about the suspect at this time,
including why he was at the hotel. We've reached out
the hotel management about the shooting, but did not receive
a response. Meanwhile, authorities are asking the community to join
them and rallying around the officer as he continues to recover.

Speaker 20 (26:21):
I hope he's okay and yeah you many prayers go
out to his family.

Speaker 11 (26:26):
Officer involved shootings are said to be rare in this
quiet community.

Speaker 34 (26:30):
I don't know if any in the recent decade prior
to me taking over his chief, so it's possible never
or if.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
It was a long time ago.

Speaker 11 (26:40):
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Authorities
say they expect to give another update on the shooting
investigation next week. Reporting in Chesterton, Emmy Victor WGN.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
News, Well, maybe never, never had an officer involved shooting.
That's amazing. Color Sprange, Colorado.

Speaker 35 (27:00):
A Colorado Springs police officer will not face charges after
they shot and killed an armed man outside of Walmart
in September.

Speaker 36 (27:06):
The fort Judicial District Attorney's office to turn an officer,
Nicholas Cassallya's use of force was justified. This video shows
the moments before he shot in killed twenty nine year
old Tyler Ben on September third at the store off
of East Platte Avenue.

Speaker 35 (27:21):
Police approached Ben and the woman he was with to
question them about a stolen car. That's when police say
Ben pulled out a gun. To DA's office ays, Ben
did not comply with any officer commands and tried to
go back inside a store with multiple people inside.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Amazing, let's see. Uh yeah, let's do this quickly. Uh,
this is interesting. This is from Florida and the title
is simply better late than never. I didn't know we
were doing this. I thought one place was doing it,
but I didn't know Florida was doing it.

Speaker 37 (27:57):
A firing squad has executed a man who killed an
off duty police officer back in two thousand and four.
Forty two year old Michael Maddy of South Carolina chose
to die by three bullets to the heart instead of
lethal injection.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Or the electric chair.

Speaker 37 (28:09):
Maddy admitted he killed Orangeburg public safety officer James Myers
in two thousand and four, shooting him at least eight
times before burning his body. Maddy was arrested in Florida
while driving Meyers's unmarked police pickup truck. Maddy also admitted
to the killing three days earlier of Christopher Boggs, a
convenience store clerk, who was shot twice in the head
as he checked Matty's ID. Mady was sentenced to life

(28:29):
in prison for that killing. Prosecutor said Maddy constantly used
brutality to solve his problems as a death row prisoner.
He sabbed a guard and hit another worker with a
concrete block. Maddy was caught three times with tools he
could have used to escape, including a piece of sharpened
metal that could be used as a knife. According to
prison records, Maddy is the twelfth execution in the US
this year.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Now, ay, Rod, my least, my last choice would be
electric chair. Second choice would be three shots to the heart.
First choice would be give me the juice.

Speaker 14 (29:04):
Just by a execution, right, we're not talking death in general.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Be execution right chairs totally out hell, long and painful. Yeah,
three shots to the heart is still painful, but pretty quick.
You're rather that than injection? No, I'd rather have the injection, Okay, No?
You oh man, probably injection.

Speaker 14 (29:28):
Yeah, yeah, kelly'sys firing squad.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Firing squad. I don't I don't understand that one.

Speaker 14 (29:33):
If it's immediate like boom gone, but I don't think.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
It would be. I don't either. I mean, first of all,
are they to the head? No, it's to the heart. No,
hell no, right, hell no, I mean to the head? Yes, boom,
You're You're out. That's it. That's it. Brings one fire.
You don't even need a squad, and that's gonna be
a big mess. Clean up too.

Speaker 14 (29:56):
More tax pair dollars exact clean What are we doing here, Brownie? Exactly,
money exactly. We'll be right back, Gilbert, Arizona, Jerry. We did.

Speaker 8 (30:07):
We learned that obviously this is a deadly officer involved shooting.
We learned that one man is dead after two officers
fired their weapons. I do want to show you the
scene of our Asy Family chopper giving an aerial view
of what this investigation looks like. We now have a
better idea of why there is so much of this
area blocked off and the you know, the presence that

(30:30):
you have here from law enforcement. Now, police say someone
made a nine to one one call with concerns about
a driver pulled off to the side of the road
on Guadaloupe Now. Investigators tell us when they got on scene,
they found a man in a car quote slumped over
the wheel. Now, during the encounter or the traffic stop,

(30:50):
police say the man had acknowledged the officers and then
at some point the man showed officers a gun. At
that point, investigators say, that's when shots right out. Now,
we spoke to a neighbor. My photographer, Miguel spoke to
a neighbor who lives in the area. Their surveillance video
captured audio at the time of this incident. Take a listen. Yeah,

(31:24):
you just heard for yourself how many shots went off? You,
I mean, just kind of a gamble here. You can
maybe hear over two dozen shots going off.

Speaker 25 (31:32):
Now.

Speaker 8 (31:33):
Gilbert Police did not give us any more details about
what led up to officers pulling and firing their weapons.
They did tell us that both of those officers have
been put on paid administrative leave, and at this point,
the Mesa Police Department has taken over the investigation. They
didn't give us a specific timeframe about how long this
area is going to be shut down for, but they

(31:54):
did say it could be a good portion of the evening.
As soon as we learn more details about this developing story,
will make sure keep you updated on air and online.
For now, Live in Gilbert tonight, I'm Stephanie to pray
for Arizona's family.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Well, keep you updated. Let's go, let's see. Oh, let's
come back to Arizona. New tonight.

Speaker 38 (32:11):
A suspect wanted for the deaths of two Arizona Rangers
is dead after a shootout with state troopers in Missouri.
Troy and Cynthia Templeton were Arizona Rangers, kind of an.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Auxiliary police force.

Speaker 38 (32:22):
They were shot and killed Sunday in their home in Taylor, Arizona.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Which is up near Shirlow northeast to the Valley.

Speaker 38 (32:28):
Place identified Cynthia Templeton's son Francis, as the suspect, and
a nationwide alert was issued for him last night. He
was involved in two separate chases with law enforcement in
Missouri and shot at a state trooper. Troopers returned fire,
and he was shot and killed. The investigation of the
well led up to that shooting here in Arizona is
still ongoing.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Right, Well, you lost a witness. Let's see if we
can find a short one here that we could squeeze in. Yeah,
let's go to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Speaker 33 (32:59):
We're learning more today about a deadly officer involved shooting
in southwest Oklahoma City. Police are now identifying the suspect.
Officers were responding to a home early Monday morning near
Southwest seventeenth and Portland. When they got there, they say
Eddie Hill opened the door holding a knife. Police say
Hill charged at officers with the knife and ignored commands

(33:20):
to drop it. That's when four officers fired their guns,
hitting the suspect. Hill was taken to the hospital where
he later died. All four officers who fired their weapons
are now on administrative leave as the investigation continued.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Sometimes, the stupidity these people, it is beyond recognition. Four cops.
He charged four cops with one knife. Yeah, you're gonna
end up dead right there.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
That's pretty latroll it up, urban gentlemen, Elvis rob the
ELM

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Have a good weekend.
