Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, Brownie, Brownie, Brownie, you have completely longed control of
this show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
You gotta tie that, drag.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
It up and get it back.
Speaker 4 (00:09):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our god
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event
(00:31):
that the criminal becomes drt The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here. For Sheriff Grady of Polk County says, insert
audio here.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
You have been warned.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Listen at your own risks.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Mike Dragon is the greatest producer I've had in seventeen
years of waiting. There's a there's there's a fault in
the universe right now, and I can't control it. So
it's just it is what it is. We do these
every Friday at nine o'clock. We call them taxpayer relief
shots because.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Somebody's breaking in your house here more than welcome to
shoot them.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
In center's accounting, we prefer that you do.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
Actually, hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money because if you.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Do exercise, you rite a self defense you know, you say,
you save the cost of the well, the cops tells
to do an investigation, but you know, and they set
to write up a report, but then they don't have
all the court time of testifying, a preliminary hearing, you know,
different motion hearings than a trial itself, you know, b
(01:46):
bargains and all of that crap, the DA's time of
doing everything, a jury's time, the judge's time. You save
taxpayers money plus all the time for incarceration or probationary time.
So you know, if you exercise law fully exercise your
right of self defense, then you do indeed save the
taxpayer's money. So we call them taxpayer relief shots. We
(02:08):
also do these because we firmly believe in the right,
that God given right of self defense, which is oftentimes
exercise through the use of a gun, which is, you know,
you're guaranteed the right to keep him bear arms by
the Second Amendment. A well regulated militia being necessary to
the security of a free state, the right of the
(02:29):
people to keep him bear arms shall not be infringed.
But even it has been, so you know, maybe sometimes
you use other things to protect yourself. We also do
these because well we we think they don't get enough coverage.
They're almost always local stories that never really make it
out into the national news unless it's something like that
(02:51):
stupid Idaho. I shouldn't say stupid, but the Idaho case
they got, you know, wall to wall coverage about everything
about it. Well, some of these deserve wall to wall
coverage too, but they don't.
Speaker 7 (03:03):
UH.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Many sheriffs uh primarily from Florida agree with this.
Speaker 8 (03:08):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
They have guns.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And
if you try to break into their homes to steal
to set fires, I'm highly recommending they blow you back
out of the house with their guns.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
So leave the community alone.
Speaker 9 (03:31):
Or if someone breaks in and that's the possibility that
they're going to accept is somebody going to be shooting,
So I would suggest not to break into homes.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, just don't break in homes, you dummies. Some sheriffs
even goes so far as to suggest that.
Speaker 10 (03:46):
Hey, everyone, recently, lady called nine to one one here
in Penell County because someone was breaking into her house.
Speaker 11 (03:53):
There's some guy.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
He came to my door, but he went into my
neighbor's house.
Speaker 10 (03:57):
This dispatcher gave excellent advice. I'd like you to take
a moment and listen to it. He came into my garage.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
He's trying to get my back door.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Okay, lock your doors, keep them all locked.
Speaker 12 (04:06):
Do you have a firearm with you?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
I do.
Speaker 13 (04:08):
He's in my garage.
Speaker 10 (04:10):
He's trying to get in.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Go get that firearm.
Speaker 10 (04:12):
I haven't gun off here here, Leah. While the incident
was still going on, sergeant was monitoring the radio traffic,
and this is his direction that he gave.
Speaker 11 (04:25):
If I RP, if the subject's trying to get in
the house, down the right to use force.
Speaker 10 (04:29):
I couldn't be more in agreement with what the direction
of my dispatcher gave and what the sergeant gave over
the radio. Remember, if you want personal protection. Buy a gun,
learn how to use it, learn when you can use it.
I'm sure if Ross TEPO and I approve of this message, loser.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
I love that. Then you have a situation where.
Speaker 10 (04:51):
Hey, everyone recently.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Say double click there Michael, say it. There you go.
Speaker 14 (04:57):
He asked to be shocked, demanded to be shot, and
then he forced.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Us to shoot him. So we obliged him. So we
obliged him. And the lesson from.
Speaker 14 (05:07):
That is, don't attack my deputies. Don't try to stab
or shoot my deputies, because if you do, we're gonna
shoot you a lot.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
We're gonna shoot you a lot. Now, some people I
don't There may be is somebody in this audience, but
call somebody that cares. Some people may not like the
fact that we do these. We think they're very important
because there are a lot of really stupid people out
there that think the right of self defense is somehow wrong,
(05:47):
that you shouldn't defend yourself. I give you Exhibit A.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
They should have called the police or in Denver, you know,
call a you know, call a counseling group or something
and social workers and have a social worker come out
and check you. Now, I don't listen to these, but
we've got we've got several award winners, which we'll get
to in a minute. But we're way behind those some
others that we didn't have time for over the last
(06:21):
couple of Fridays. So let's get caught up on those.
The Popo shoot and kill a man who did something stupid.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
His sister Rochelle acknowledged his O double click there, Michael.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Man, oh man, you know, I want you to come
in here and watch me double click sometime and see
what happens. I just want you to watch to watch.
Here we go.
Speaker 13 (06:48):
I'm breaking right off the top of the Fox eight
News at eleven Wiston.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Salem Police are.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Investigating an officer involved shooting.
Speaker 13 (06:54):
It happened in the one thousand block of Nancy Lane,
which is located off of Thomasville Road, just after six
o'clock tonight.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
The police chief just gave an update at the police
department there where Fox says, Justin Lundy is life for tonight?
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Justin, what did you learn.
Speaker 15 (07:09):
But what we know so far is that one officer
was injured in the shooting and suspected shooter was shot
and killed by another officer.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Now this is what we know so far.
Speaker 15 (07:19):
What's to say on police were dispatched to a disturbance
on the one thousand block of Nancy Lane. Two officers
tried to de escalate a situation with thirty four year
old Antonio Bettencourt. Police say he began fighting the officers
and during the struggle, Antonio shot one of the officers
in their ballistic vest. A second officer returned fire and
Antonio was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer that
(07:41):
was shot is recovering in a nearby facility. Now Chief
William Penn Junior would not identify the officers, but did
say that they will receive resources for their mental health
after this traumatic experience. And additionally, the State Bureau of Investigation
is looking into this shooting. But when we find out
more information, will have update on the air and on
lot of Myfox ad dot com. But again, one officer
(08:03):
has been injured in the shooting and the suspected shooter
has been shot and killed by another officer. Be poor
in life wants to Salem justin Lundy Foxy News.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Just all.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
My advice is, you know, don't shoot at cops. If
you think the cops are doing something wrong, we'll go
argue it out in court. But don't don't don't shoot
them because you're gonna end up DRT. Let's see uh
the and always it's not always a shooting.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
And Welcome to the noon.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
I'm Jannakociama.
Speaker 16 (08:32):
We want to begin with that breaking news in Antioch.
Speaker 17 (08:34):
Police are saying that officers fatally shot in armed suspect.
Speaker 18 (08:38):
Kgv's Henry Lee is there in Antioch and he's joining
us live now with some of the latest details.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Henry, what can you tell us?
Speaker 19 (08:46):
Yeah, Janet, we are on Osprey Drive, that's south of
James donand Boulevard.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
If the scene of the officer.
Speaker 19 (08:51):
Involves shooting, now we're not being told that, not much
right now, But let's show you.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Some video from earlier.
Speaker 19 (08:57):
Now, sky Fox was over over the sea in the
aftermath of the shooting by police that left a male dead.
It happened about seven point forty this morning on Osprey
Drive and officers converged on this residential neighborhood. Now they
encountered a male reportedly armed with a knife, and at
least one officer opened fire. Video at the scene shows
(09:19):
a man lying on the street beneath a yellow tarp,
and nearby a woman and others were overcome with emotion
and again. Antioch Police have not yet released details about
what led up to the shooting, but confirmed there was
a deadly confrontation.
Speaker 7 (09:33):
I responded to a call and then there was an officer
involved shooting. We do have one fatality.
Speaker 19 (09:42):
Now, depending on the circumstances leading up to the shooting,
either the Contra Costa County dai's office will investigate if
this male was indeed armed with some kind of a weapon.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
If he was not, then the State Attorney.
Speaker 19 (09:53):
General Rob Bont's office we'll step in now. Coming up
with five and six. We'll hear from neighbors who are
very concerned, especially because of recent incidents in this neighborhood
unrelated to this confrontation.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Live and NANIW Henry l KTV Box two News.
Speaker 17 (10:07):
All right, Henry, thanks so much for the details on
that developing news.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
We'll look forward to seeing you a little bit later on.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, we'll see later, Henri. Thanks yeap, just a knife
a fleeting suspect in a stolen car act stupid.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
And thank you for joining us here at three. I'm
Lisa hernandez.
Speaker 20 (10:24):
Adam Andy Sirota. The investigation is just beginning after a
police pursuit that started in southeast Houston and ended in Galveston,
that chase ending with deputies shooting the suspect after a
brief standoff.
Speaker 16 (10:37):
Kye Percy two has followed the story since the beginning,
and now our working munos joins us live from Galveston.
Speaker 17 (10:43):
We're a press conference just wrapped up, Ricky, what are
you learning out there?
Speaker 21 (10:48):
Hey, good afternoon. In that press conference was held right
here at the City of Galveston Municipal Court and it
honestly took like three minutes let us ask any questions
and gave us very little detail. But take a look
at your screen. This is a scene over Sky two
where the scene was very active and it's still very active.
And then where it all ended. This all started in
Houston as a stolen vehicle stop and turn into a
(11:11):
dangerous chase that started on the busy Gold Freeway that
ended in Galveston when a dea least shoot out.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
That's pretty wild. All the way from Houston down the
god Freeway into Galveston. That's a long chase. Yeah, that's
a long chase.
Speaker 20 (11:25):
And thank you for joining us here at three hours
Adam Andy Sirota, the investigation is just precent.
Speaker 21 (11:31):
Two deputies first try to stop the stolen truck on
I forty five near Belford. A deputy from Precinct eight
tried to use spike strips, but that's when police said
the suspect opened fire.
Speaker 9 (11:44):
The suspect discharged the firearm at the deputy, at which
time the deputy returned fire and continued the pursuit to
and continue to pursue the vehicle into Galveston County.
Speaker 21 (12:00):
They eventually crash on Broadway near fifty fourth Street. Officers
said he got out of the vehicle with a gun
and started shooting again before they shot and killed him.
Now that Texas Rangers now took over the investigation with
help from the Galbison County DA. No officers or civilians
were hurt in this situation.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
We're going to.
Speaker 21 (12:18):
Continue asking questions and trying to get some answers and
keeping you updated on air and online. I click to
Houston dot com by reporting live in Galbison. I'm Rickan
when you KPRC to news.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah, I've heard of people have involved in the high
speed chase who eventually, you know, they do get away
because they stopped to chase. But I've never heard of
the high speed chase where you're shooting at the cop
and somehow you think you're gonna get bye with that. No,
you've just escalated to you know, a plus ten and
(12:50):
they're not gonna stop. The next one is international involves
a machete.
Speaker 18 (12:56):
We started with terrifying sayings that are shopping set in
me drew it. A young man armed with a machete
shot dead by police following a violent brawl in a
Westfield car park. Families and children running for cover as
panic set in.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Mount Druid.
Speaker 22 (13:13):
Westfield's a crime scene as police are forced to open
fire on a man brandishing a machete. Police were initially
called to the rooftop car park near the Hoyts Movie
Theater around three point fifteen pm after reports of two
groups brawling.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
It was just a girl and a girl and it
escalated to about twenty or so people.
Speaker 22 (13:34):
That's when police claimed one of the men, ased in
his twenties, turned on officers, brandishing the weapon and moving
towards them.
Speaker 23 (13:44):
Next week us six shots go off.
Speaker 21 (13:46):
Somebody was like fighting before something like that.
Speaker 22 (13:50):
People were seeing the shopping center was packed with weekend crowds,
and as shots rang out, there was chaos and confusion.
Speaker 20 (13:57):
Shouting seeing that there's a gunshot and gunshot, and then
everybody just was going towards the outside.
Speaker 10 (14:03):
To the next scene.
Speaker 23 (14:03):
We know, a whole bunch of people just come running in.
They were yelling that the shooter running around.
Speaker 12 (14:10):
A lot of people were running around and trying to
get out of the area.
Speaker 22 (14:13):
This lady was in time zone for a children's birthday party.
Speaker 23 (14:17):
Gentlemen come ups with us and said that there was
a fellow running around with a macheti and then yeah,
Copper's blocked him off up near the cinema there and
obviously shot him there.
Speaker 22 (14:29):
Paramedics treated the man on scene for forty five minutes,
but he couldn't be revived. One woman was taken away
in handcuffs. Are the witnesses standing by watching on in shock.
Speaker 23 (14:40):
Asking for everyone safety.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Krona for daylight three pm on a busy weekend.
Speaker 12 (14:47):
It's it's it's terrifying for everyone.
Speaker 22 (14:49):
A crime scene now covering a large part of the
popular Western Sydney shopping precinct tonight, people being told to
avoid the area. Elizabeth Bryan nine knew she.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Referred to the West End, so I assume she's referring
to London, which means that London. You know, they've gun,
gun control, knife control, now they need machete control. Let's
see a man brings a BB gun to a gunfight.
Nobody not. Everybody's smart.
Speaker 22 (15:19):
A deadly shooting involving LAPD officer under investigation in Boyle Heights.
This happened on Spence Street near Hunter after police responded
to reports of a man with a rifle.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
The neighborhood placed on lockdown.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
I would say the porter and munos is there live
at the Boyle Heights and Annabel, you've been out there
for a few hours now, what can.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
You tell us?
Speaker 17 (15:39):
Yeah, we are starting to get some information from the
police department right now. We're at the intersection of eighth
and Spence Streets as this investigation is just beginning. We
spoke with a resident earlier today who said she heard
gunshots this morning from her home, and we believe what
she heard is when officers opened fire. SWAT officers surround
(16:02):
this white van. Its shattered glasses on the ground and
several bullet holes are visible on the windshield. Police shot
in killed a man they say had a replica of
a rifle in his vehicle when they responded.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
Upon a further investigation and review of body warm video,
there wasn't a clear picture as to what the suspect's
actions were at the time of the officer involved shooting.
Speaker 17 (16:24):
Sergeant William Cooper with LPD Media Relations says officers with
the Hollandback Division got a call around eight thirty this
morning about an individual armed with a rifle.
Speaker 7 (16:34):
After arrival, officers encountered a man armed with a possible firearm.
Speaker 17 (16:41):
Authorities have not provided details on what exactly led up
to the shooting. After officers fired, Cooper says a SWAT
team arrived.
Speaker 7 (16:49):
SWAT did deploy gas in an attempt to make contact
and to get some sort of response from the suspect.
There was no response from that suspect despite swatt's efforts.
At that time, they determined that it was safe to
approach the vehicle.
Speaker 17 (17:06):
Police say the individual was pronounced dead by the Los
Angeles Fire Department. They also say he had a replica
of a rifle a BB gun. The van he was
in appeared to be a work vehicle with what looked
like cleaning supplies and open compartments. LAPD Chief Jim McDonald
was also at the scene near Spence and Eighth Street
in Boyle Heights.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
The police Department.
Speaker 17 (17:27):
Says its Force Investigation Division will review body worn cameras,
interview the police officers involved, and speak with witnesses. You
can see this area is still blocked off. We can
still see investigators here again. The individual who was shot
and killed has not yet been identified. That information will
(17:47):
be coming from the coroner's office. Reporting live in Boyle Heights.
Annabel Munos ABC seven, I at the scene now.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
I want to come back to this story after the break,
because this reminds me of a story that I read
in the Wall Street Journal maybe a week or so
ago about cops shooting people who were legitimately caring because
we all are so afraid of gun.
Speaker 11 (18:14):
Mike the actually did bring it to the floor in
London about actually banning where you can't order machetes.
Speaker 10 (18:24):
Swords and various other knives and stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
I'd never heard of it.
Speaker 11 (18:28):
Passed, but they did actually try to ban those recently.
Speaker 24 (18:32):
Later Dragon, according to AI here just google this reilati
really quickly. In England and Wales, a ban on the
sale of possession of quote zombie style end quote knives
and machetes came into effect September twenty fourth, twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Zombie style, that's what it says. Okay, that's the new
one to me, So this last taxpayer relief shop, don't
get me wrong, it sounds to me like that was legitimate.
But it's also an indication of how we have instilled
fear in society at large, in cops in particular, about
(19:17):
anybody carrying a gun. Now, if I'm just walking around
open carrying, I'm not a threat to anyone. If I'm
concealed carrying, I'm not a threat to anyone. You just
don't see the gun. But we've created such this fear
around firearms that it's having I think, serious consequences. And
(19:42):
that story reminded me of and I looked it up.
It's if you want to read it yourself, Dragon, I'll
see if I can give the unlocked I'll text you
the link if you want to put this up on
the website. I would really encourage you to read this story.
It's July tenth, the Wall Street Journal, The rapid rise
(20:04):
of killings by police in rural America. A seventeen year
old shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy on a
New Mexico highway last summer was one in a growing
number of cases. And I think what's happened is crime,
whether it be by trenda ragua cartels, ordinary every day
(20:27):
run of the mill of thugs, or a combination of
that and poor police training and cops themselves being fearful
of anybody with a gun, and everybody's presuming you got
a gun, and you're presumed to be a criminal. You
have a gun, and you're presumed that you're gonna do
something bad with it. And I find that offensive if
(20:48):
you watch the video. So this kid got beat up
the day before that he was killed by this cop.
So he's on the I think the mescal Era Reservation, Yes,
on the Mescalaria Apache Reservation. He's walking home late at night.
He's a good student, there's nothing that this kid is
a is a model citizen, but he's decided to carry
(21:15):
a handgun because he's gotten beaten up. So someone spots
somebody walking down the road. It's late at night, so
they call in a welfare check. Hey, there's some kid
walking down the road. Go check. So this deputy, and
here's how they described the deputy, Jacob Diaz Austen, one
(21:38):
of the few sheriff's deputies patrolling of Tarrell County's sixty
six hundred square miles, took the dispatcher's call for a
welfare check on a possibly intoxicated pedestrian. Listen to this.
He switched on his lights, cranked up the volume to
the club Hit in the Ghetto, and sped to the scene,
(22:00):
topping one hundred and twenty miles an hour. According to
audio and video recordings obtained by The Wall Street Journal,
the deputy slowed, stopped, focused his spotlight on Elijah Hadley,
a seventeen year old walking along the median near his
home on the Mescale Apache Reservation. Fearful after getting beaten
up the day before, Hadley carried a BB gun. Within minutes,
(22:25):
the deputy fired approximately twenty two shots at Hadley. He
shot four times just after Hadley dropped the BB gun.
Now The Wall Street Journal, to their credit, included the
body camp or then, actually, I think in this case,
(22:46):
the dash camp. They got the spotlight on him. He's
got the BB gun. He's told to pull it out.
He pulls it out. He's holding it by his fingers.
The gun is pointing down. He's holding it by his
fingers at the grip. He pulls it out, never points it,
pulls it out, and as he drops the gun, the
(23:09):
deputy fires four shots into him. Four there's still eighteen
more to come. That's a cop that is poorly trained
and just in my opinion, in my opinion, scared the
death of people with guns. And here's an innocent kid. Now.
(23:33):
The deputy, I think, if I remember the story correctly,
has now been charged with murder, as he should be.
But that's not necessarily the point I want to make here.
The point is we have so vilified firearms in this
country that cops are so ill trained, ill prepared. Not
all cops, but this cop in particular, is so ill trained,
(23:55):
ill prepared that a kid just walking home, scared of
getting beat up again it is carrying a baby gun.
He appropriately pulls it out and appropriately pulls it away
from his body barrel pointing down, barely holding it by
his fingertips, and as he lets go to drop it
to the ground, four bullets into him, and the kid's dead.
(24:15):
The deputy walks over and pumps what eighteen more into him?
Eighteen more. That's a cop that's out of control. And
that is an indication that in our society we've created
such fear around firearms that a as a as a
(24:36):
concealed carry permit holder and one who has guns in
every single car's got guns everywhere you can possibly imagine.
I'm scared to death. I always make sure and particularly
when I go to the undisclosed location in New Mexico. Now,
I haven't been to stopped for speeding in a long time,
(24:58):
but the last time I did, I make sure that,
you know, they see my concealed carry card and normally
they'll ask me where is it, and I'll say, kind
of jokingly, which one. You know, there's several within my
you know, summer is in my reach and some with
that within my reach. But this is why, if you notice,
(25:18):
this is why my hands are still in the steering wheel,
and it's gotten me probably had some speeding tickets just
by acknowledging to the cop that, yeah, I've got guns
in my car, and I'm a concealed carry permit holder,
which I don't think is constitutional. But nonetheless, I'm I
got one. I have a license to exercise my second
(25:39):
Amendment right. Isn't that special? It just infuriates These stories
infuriate me because we've allowed the cabal, We've allowed politicians,
we've allowed cops, we've allowed everybody to vilify self defense.
And now we've got to kid an innocent seventeen year
(26:02):
old kid. And rightfully so, the cops have been charged
with murder. But holy col I mean, if you watch
the video, you'll think, what the hell's going on here?
I'll tell you what's going on. This is what happens
when I know that we get focused on stories like California's,
(26:24):
you know, trying to make sure that they can trace AMMO.
We get focused on, you know, some of the stupid
things about banning semi automatic weapons, some of the stupid
laws in Colorado have been passed. You know, what we
really ought to realize is that while those gain our
attention over here, the cabal is creating this fear of
(26:46):
firearms such that they won't need gun control because it'll
all be doo damn scared to carry a gun because
just the side of a gun is gonna get you shot.
That's how stupid this is, and that kind of taxpayer
relief shot drives. I mean, look, I think that was legit.
You got a crazy guy. It's plenty of BB I
(27:07):
know it's a BB gun, but you know, is the
cops supposed to wait, wait, wait a minute, let me
see wait is that a Winchester or is that, you know,
a daisy Winchester or a Daisy? Cops don't have time
to figure that out.
Speaker 9 (27:21):
Ugh.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Anyway, I'll send that link to you a second dragon
if you got time, put it up. Uh, let's see,
let's keep moving. Man fires a gun at the cops.
Well see, probably legitimate.
Speaker 16 (27:32):
Investigation is under way tonight after police shot and killed
a man in Fall River. Police released body camera footage.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Of the incident.
Speaker 16 (27:40):
This happened early this morning on Langley Street, with family
members called nine one one saying that relative was having
a mental health crisis and was in possession of a
gun when officers attempted to enter the home. That's when
police say that the man started shooting at them. Now
we know the man who was shot was taken to
the hospital where he later died.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
No officers were hurt.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Oh, that was it all right? Legitimate officer shooting kills
a robbery suspect who well again legitimate.
Speaker 16 (28:15):
Triff's office releasing the name of the suspect involved in.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
The officer in while shooting on Sutel Drive.
Speaker 25 (28:21):
It's an update to the story we first brought you
as breaking news yesterday. He's been identified as twenty year
old Jamari Aikins. Police officer who was shot is also
out of the hospital. In fact, JSO released this video
of the officer, Louis Murcado, leaving yesterday afternoon. He is
a four year veteran of JSO. Applied to tourniquet to
his own leg moments after returning fire. An armed robbery
(28:44):
happened near Suetell in Norfolk Boulevard started about seven o'clock
yesterday morning. Atkins took off but was quickly caught as
police detained him. Police say he fired two shots he
was lying on top of the police officer fired at Mercado,
hit him in the leg, how to return fire and
hill the suspect. Atkins was taken to the hospital where
(29:05):
he died. That's the gun that was used that had
been recovered again you see right there on your screen.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Crazy crazy crazy ties by Relief. Shots continue after.
Speaker 11 (29:13):
This, Michael, someone's trying to break into my house. I
was hoping you could quickly refer me to a social
conflict intermediary. Make it quick, please.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
U let me get my Google machine out because I
don't know of any.
Speaker 24 (29:33):
It's also unfortunate because he had left that maybe twenty
minutes ago, so he's already dead.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Oh yeah, yeah, you're done. Never mind. I'm not gonna
waste my effort here. Okay, let's see. Uh this finished
up with this one, the cop shoot and kill an
armed hmm. I knows there was a sign up for
one of these on the way into work this morning.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Let's get back to that breaking news right now.
Speaker 13 (29:56):
A man was shot and killed in Guadalupe by Perkopa
County Sheriff steput Is just after midnight when that suspect
refused to put down a weapon. Our Troy Lynch is
live at that scene right now, walking us through what happened.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
Good morning, Troy, Jay, Good morning to you too.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Justin This happened right in front of Guadaloupe Town Hall
just after midnight.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Let me step out of the way so you can
see what's.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Going on, But you can see Maricopa County Sheriff's Major
Crimes Unit. They have taken over this investigation, and this
has been this scene for the last maybe couple of hours,
and they're expecting it to last a long time.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
But you can see investigators.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
They've been they've completely taped off this parking lot. Investigators
have been seen walking up and down. And we believe
the shooting happened in the back right corner, really close
to town hall.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
So let's get into that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
So it actually started as a hit and run on
the US sixty near Tempe, where authorities say the suspect
went to his.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Ants house.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Ants house here in Guadeloupe, and the ant cold nine
one one saying her adult nephew was making suicidal statements
and also talking about the car crash. So MCSO deputies
found the suspect carrying some sort of bladed weapon right
in front of Guadaloupe town Hall, and MCSO officials say
the two deputies asked him to put the weapon down
multiple times.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
The suspect did not.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Both deputies shot the suspect and we're not sure how
many times, but the man was pronounced dead by the
time the fire department arrived.
Speaker 12 (31:28):
A start talking to him, asking what's going on. They
do confirm he starts to make suicidal comments to them,
which time he pulls out what we are going to
describe by now is a bladed weapon. Deputies gave commands
told him to drop the weapon. He would not comply.
Both deputies fired the service weapon. The suspect was shot,
(31:52):
and that he was pronounced the ceased on scene.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
So I want you to look at this DPS truck
that you see in the back right corner. That actually
is a DPS trooper that responded to the initial hit
and run crash on the sixty and is back here
at the crime scene during this investigation. Those two deputies
that discharge their weapon, there are no injuries to them,
and like we already said, MCSO major crimes. They have
(32:20):
taken over this investigation. If we have any more information,
of course, we're going to be reporting it to you
throughout the morning, but we're live here in Guadeloupe.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Troy Lynch twelve News Today in NAZ.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
There you go. There are your taxpayer release shots for today.
Next week, next Friday, we got lots of award winners.
