supervision costs that are associated with both the arrest and
the imprisonment of that criminal. And tax pay relietion, we
think is an appropriate title for this segment. Because somebody's

document shows that a Lindsey, Ontario man who is facing
charges for allegedly assaulting an intrude in his apartment. Is
accused of using a knife to defend himself. Here's the

Early Monday morning, a home invasion took place at an
apartment on this street in Lindsay, Ontario. An altercation happened
between a homeowner and intruder, resulting in both men getting charged.
Cortha Lake's Police say a forty four year old woke
up to find another man inside his home and allegedly
inflicted life threatening injuries on the intruder. As a result,

the homeowner is charged with aggravated assault and assault with
a weapon.

of in the United States, right. It's not kind of
like in this inane right to stand your ground. It
is a defense where you need to use reasonable and
proportionate force in the circumstances.

Police say the election intruder was already wanted for unrelated
offenses and is now charged with break enter and theft,
possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, and
failure to apply with probation.

this guy gets charged, and the other guy gets charged.

The cour of the Lakes Police Chief is defending the
decision by investigators, saying the investigators were able to examine
all of the information and evidence that was available prior
to laying any charges.

And police are looking to charge someone, they're looking at
whether or not they have reasonable grounds to do so,
Whereas when a Crown attorney is looking at a case
and whether or not to proceed, they're looking at a
different assessment. They're looking at whether or not there's a
reasonable prospect of conviction. And if it's in the public interest.

Because this is an incident of shooting involving a state
police trooper, a lot of information is not being released
right now. However, we have confirmed that there was a
shooting here in Basra on Saturday night, and in fact
State Police did confirm to us that a call came
into Colchester here at Troop K shortly after seven o'clock
Saturday night. Now, State Police also told us today that

they responded to a home here in Basra, one ninety
nine Gifford Lane. Now, we were able to speak to
a neighbor there. The neighbor told us that something did
happen there Saturday night, but he really didn't want to
give much information or details. He was kind enough to
actually call the neighbor for us the homeowner to see
if they wanted to talk to us. And we were

told that the homeowner didn't want to comment about what
took place there Saturday night. So the bottom line is
right now, someone is dead. We don't know if it
was someone who lived in that house or not. And
there is an investigation by the Inspector General. That's what
happens when there is an officer or state police trooper
involved shooting. The Inspector General has five days five business days.

a gunfight. I wonder what happens.

We're now learning more details about a fatal shooting in
North Buffalo involving cheek Dewoga police. Cheek Dewaga Police say
that it all started back on Monday, when a man
allegedly attacked an employee at a hotel in Cheek Towoga,
leaving that victim unconscious. At about twelve thirty pm Wednesday,
cheap Dowaga officers went to an apartment on Sanders Road

in North Buffalo to arrest the suspect, and that's when
things turn violent. Here's cheap Towoga Police Chief Brian Coomebs
explaining what happened next.

Our officers came into contact with an individual at that address,
and this individual attacked our officers were a knife. Her
investigation revealed that one of our officers discharged the fim.
The officers then began life saving measures. Our officers secured
a continued life's saving measures until being assisted by uniformed
officers of the Buffalo PD In a Buffalo Fire Department.

Individual was pronounced that at the scene. The knife was
recovered at the scene. This investigation is being handled by
the Buffalo Police Department.

Chief Coon said that body camera footage from the incident
has been turned over to the Attorney General's office and
that the officers involved are paid administrative leave, which is
the standard procedure in an incident like this. Police said
there in the process of notifying the next of ten
of the deceased and then they'll release his name in

after officers got a call about a burglary. According to

Police responded and say they met a man carrying a gun.
Police say that man jumped into a car and officers

chased him for about two or three blocks before the
chief says that man got out of the car and
pointed a gun at police. Officers fired several shots, hitting him.
Virginia State Police is now investigating what happened. Norfolk's Commonwealth
Attorney also visiting the scene.

forty four year old Jesse Campbell here from Staten Island,
who was the person that was spotted with that imitation
gun that looked so really prompted a nine one one
call and led to a deadly confrontation with off duty officers.

it started with a nine to one one call from
Andrews Diner on Highland Boulevard around eight clock. Someone spotted
Campbell behind the diner with that weapon called nine one one.
But then a short time later on William Avenue and
off duty NYPD officer spotted the individual with that gun.

Alerted another op duty copped and then they both confronted Campbell,
gave him numerous commands to drop the weapon. Police say
he did not, and that is when one officer opened fire.

They say that Campbell.

Allegedly pointed this weapon at one of the officers. Either way,
Campbell was shot multiple times taken to Staten Island University Hospital,
where he was pronounced dead. The Force Investigation Division now
investigating this incident, but the NYPD Staten Island Borough Commander
explains why those officers took action.

this may be a case of heavily armed teams shooting

aged shooting victims here, hit by bullets lasted and a
barrage of gunfire in the after school hour of four o'clock.

A sixteen year old male was shot in both legs.
He was transported to Temple Hospital stable condition. A seventeen
year old male shot in both arms, both legs, and
at least two times in a tour so he was
transported to Temple Hospital also and he is in critical condition.
The two shooting victims were standing in a group of

about three to five people, and it appeared that the
shooters were intentionally firing into that crowd. The only description
we have right now of the shooters is three males,
all wearing dark colored clothing, last seen fleeing on foot
northbounds on Carlisle Street from Girard Avenue.

This time for this double shooting. There was a semi
automatic handgun found on the scene. Now that gun may
have belonged to one of the shooting victims.

Police on a high speed chase just two days prior,
and is believed to have broken into a residence before
being shot by the homeowner. According to the Kanawk County
Sheriff's Office. Joshua Duff of Mountain Zion, West Virginia, was
shot and killed on August eighth. Defy say Duff attacked
a homeowner at a residence on Lick Branch Road with
a knife and a baseball bat. The homeowner shot and

killed Duff. The investigation determined that just two days prior,
Duff had led law enforcement on a high speed chase
in a stolen car, eventually ditching the vehicle and escaping
into the woods not far from where he was later shot.
The investigation remains ongoing and no final charges have been
filed against the homeowner.

That investigation is still underway in an active scene here
one hundred and seventy third Street. More than a dozen
markers are down right now. The Crime Scene Union is
here on the ground after an off duty police officer
fatally shot an armed moped riding suspect. This is around
nine to forty five last night. The violence all unfolded
after the two men approached the off duty officer and

asked if they knew a certain person's name. Now, cops
say one of the suspects pulled a weapon as the
off duty officer drew his and discharged multiple rounds. Right now,
police are combing through all of the evidence left behind,
from the suspect's moped to the several shell casings. As
police have the street where all of the violence that's
billed onto frozen now. The thirty year old suspect that

house here through the trees. He says he heard nothing
last night. I was surprised to find out what had
happened here. Talked about getting more security for his house
as well. With the call came in around two am,
and I won one call this morning.

The woman at the house said to nine to one
one operators she shot an intruder when deputy's got here,
they say they did find a man in the driveway,
shot and unconscious. They later confirmed to us that the
man died here at the scene. They also tell us
a woman in that house had no idea who the
person was trying to get into her house, and at

this time we're told there's no threat to the public.
That woman is cooperating with detectives of the Major Crimes
Investigating Unit has been here ever since then. They have
kept this road shut down here as well. They've waited
quite a while for a search wart to go into
the house. We believe they may have that at this point,
not sure, but we do know that this road, they say,

Chris, counting Christina, We're still at the point where a
lot of information is coming into our newsroom. But according
to authorities, two troopers were shot while responding to a
domestic call and were allegedly ambushed. Now, this happened in
Susquehanna County, which is up near the New York border
New York state border in the northeastern part of the state,
up above Scranton. State Police stated shooting happened around eleven

this morning in the area of State Routes one seventy one.
The troopers were sent to the home for a welfare
check and reports of shots fired.
