(00:13):

seen him. I saw perfect forhim to hang out. Yeah, that's
(00:39):
probably kind of sea, mister.Let's take mister, it's a trouble.

(01:52):

How many other places in the introCan we do a show from? Oh,
we can do strip club clubs, strip clubs District. We're at the
(02:13):
strip club. Is it possible todo radio from strip clubs? Jeff?
I mean I've done a live spotfrom strip clubs. There's a lot going
on in the background, like alive call in. Yeah, yeah,
what did you say? Did youdescribe the scene? A did J play
pieces of clothing flying off? I'mout at the booby bar. Uh you
(02:34):
can hear. We're having a greattime. You get out here Monday night
football watch party. We've got ourown suite. Love to see you guys.
It's a great night here on insertradio station. Here, come and
join me at insert strip club. Here as pour some sugar on me.
Walks in the background, and wewould have an average of one to two
listeners show up each week. Notthe best investment by the client, but
(02:58):
we did it. They don't ata suite. Hey, you do what
you can. I did make afriend. She was just trying to work
her way through college. I don'tremember her name. Did you help her
to this end? Work your waythrough college. She wouldn't let me,
No, she would she. Sheand I we'd liked each other a lot.
Really, Yeah, she refused myfunds. You a real stripper girlfriend,
(03:23):
I mean, not outside of theirokay. But yeah, while they're
okay, we were great friends.Yeah, she'd come see me to get
away from once she'd made all hermoney she wanted. She'd duck on in
well here at Clyde Warren Park theaforementioned Clyde Warren Park, Glyde. Earlier
(03:45):
today, we saw the eclipse.Yes, it's cool. Was everybody duly
impressed by it? Better than Ithought it would be. I thought I
loved it. I thought it wouldbe ho hum and it was all.
Yeah. I thought it would bejhum too, and it was anything.
But I still got some spots whenI blink because I yeah, I watched
(04:10):
UH for about five minutes before andafter and through all of totality. I
went, no glasses, I don'tbelieve you just stared right at that thing.
Okay, I did this. Atthe last one we had, I
did that too, Yeah, andit's It rocked my world a little bit.
I was really worried that things wouldnever normalize again for a while,
(04:33):
but they did. I can't havekids now. Then a friend of yours
was killed by the eclipse, rightwhat? Oh? Yeah, yeah I
remember that. Yeah. Mike saidhe had a friend who had the permanent
black spots and his vision. SoI was trying to get him up here
last week so he could scare Jeff'straight. Yeah, because he was threatening
to do dumb stuff whull time. Then I tried, he tried to get
(04:53):
him on. Yeah, he couldn't. But the man's dead. He's dead.
Oh, because of the black spots. I assume so that. I
don't think that's a real I don'tthink that's a real safe assumption. They'll
show us a different cause of death. Well, I I can't because I've
been in touch with this guy fora long time and he was he was.
(05:14):
He was a very edgy cat whowould he was no no edgy edg
not edging. No, he wasn'tedging while he was doing it, okay,
because that was weird clip as faras I wasn't preparing to brass or
anything like that. He was justa real edgy cat who would try anything
(05:36):
and do anything and thought he wasYou couldn't tell him nothing. And somebody
says, don't look up there atthe sun, and that's the first thing
he's gonna do. He would throwthrow a chair off of a high Yeah.
Yeah, I mean he would dostuff like that too. I bet
(05:57):
you will throw that chair six storiesdown with him, Cops, give me
a chair. He was a Iguess Morgan Wallen was a starter kid for
him, yeah, or he wasa Morgan Wallen starter kid. He's saying
Morgan Wallan's gonna die soon from theeclipse. Oh, he had to missity.
I wonder if he was in jail, but he was out. He
probably got out. Yeah, yeah, I bet he got it. What
(06:18):
do you think they did for thepeople in jail. Probably I don't think
that they let him out to givethem glasses and tell him to go sit
outside. I'm going to bet alot of money that they did. Yeah.
I'm gonna bet a lot of moneythat the eclipse came and went without
any kind of of participation from them. I don't know. If they're out
(06:38):
there digging ditches, they might havegotten a glance up for a minute.
They had to give them glasses. At least you could go inside with them
with the outside jobs. I guaranteeyou they did not get them glasses.
I promise. I feel like theydid. I might have to investigate this,
do it. Well, it's notjail, but I know that the
schools did. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And so your kid was at
(07:08):
school, Yeah, she was atschool. Is she in public like like
kinder yet or pre school? Okay? I mean it's like, uh,
the pre k but she's at thesame facilities she'll be at till fifth grade.
Got you, I got you. She's out of Dallas Air Elementary School.
I got a couple of videos becauseI was wondering, like, all
the kids got glasses and they toldthem all to go to school, But
if the parents wanted to pull theirkids out, they could. They just
(07:29):
said come before noon because that's whenthey were going to start all their like
eclipse activities or whatever. Did theymake them go back to school once the
eclipse is over with? Well,I guess if the parent decided to pull
their kid, then they probably didn'tbring them back to school. But I
was wondering how it went down, and I was getting some videos afterwards,
and it's just about the coolest, like cutest thing I've ever seen. It
was all like the whole school sittingout on the playground, you know,
(07:54):
after lunch or whatever. They allhave their glasses on and they all just
start screaming and like cheering and youknow, like they're watching a sporting e
bit or something. It's the cutestthing. These kids just loved it.
But it's definitely the best eclipse I'veever seen. Yeah, so I was
listening to I was trying to likeget a little bit more eclipse knowledge this
morning while I was on a walkand I was listening to this man of
(08:18):
some sort of scientist or whatever withNPR, and the way he described it
was like you've seen you've seen probablyin your life of partial eclipse, which
we've had here. I remember seeingthat when I was at Fox Sports Southwest.
I was just like editing. Iwas in an editing bay and everyone
had glasses and we all walked outsideand we looked up and you kind of
have to strain and you see thelittle thumbnail thing, you know, over
(08:41):
the sun, and you're like, okay, that's cool, Like it was
cool, but it was nothing likewhat we saw today. And the man
on the thing today said this isbecause the person asked like, how do
you explain like how cool this isor how much better it is than a
partial eclipse? And he said itis one thousand times better. That's the
only way to explain it. Ifyou're anywhere near one, drive to you
(09:03):
know the path of totality and tryto get into that spot. So it
also just had me wondering like ifyou think the people who drove here or
traveled here that maybe had never seenit, like do they feel like it
was fulfilling? Like was it worthit? Was it enough? I don't
know. Oh, yes, man, I don't see how they cannot.
Yeah, I just I was justgonna say, like, I'm just we're
(09:26):
just so lucky that we just likeare here. We just had to go
to work at the park and wewere in this line where you get to
see like this magical moment in theworld, where other people are traveling to
or don't get to see it allor just seeing the little thumbnail like we
did back in the day and aren'thaving all of those like amazing feelings.
(09:48):
Their kids aren't having the screaming outat school with the glasses on that they're
gonna remember forever. Like we didn'tdo anything to get to be in this
spot. We didn't do anything todeserve it, but we got it feels
really cool. I've been through acouple of these. The last one was
some years back when I lived atthe Wilson Building, which had a nice
(10:09):
place on the top or a higherdeck for us to all go out and
look at. And it was okay, but it was nothing like this.
I mean here it got I alwaysheard that it gets dark in these things.
It didn't there, it did here. Yeah, I always heard that
it gets cool in these things. It didn't there, it did here.
(10:31):
I mean, this was everything I'dalways heard these were supposed to be m
M As far as whether or notpeople liked their vacation, I think that
those things are kind of self fulfillingof you know, if if you go,
if you paid for a nice hotel, you came out here for a
couple extra days. I drove throughdowntown Saturday sometime in the afternoon. I
(10:54):
really had never seen it like that, where there was just a ton of
people, and you know, thisis two days out from eclipse. There's
a ton of people outside. Therewas eclipse related parties going on at Main
Street, Garden and the Discovery District. I think that if you were in
town over the weekend, that there'sa lot of people having fun. And
like it's a little silly that itwas for four minutes, but like they
(11:18):
were a really cool four minutes, and then just everything else around it.
It was just fun to live hereover the last four to eight hours.
And so I don't see anyway thatanyone who planned their trip here didn't have
a great time. Now, Itoo, took a swim through downtown coming
home last night, and man, you're right I mean it was Sunday night
(11:39):
last night, and normally on Sundaynight, on a normal Sunday night,
downtown the sidewalks are pretty much rolledup, but not last night. There
were cars out, there were peopleout. It looked like all the bars
and restaurants that were still open. The ones that weren't were clearly fools,
but the ones that we were very, very busy, and it was thumping
(12:03):
and it was really cool. Ijust clearly remember, and I know you
do too, the times whenever Downtownwas half vacant buildings and a real ghost
town. And I know that sincethen, there's been a lot of people
who have been putting a lot ofenergy into trying to ask themselves, how
do we make this a better placeto be? How do we make this
a place that people want to visit? And the eclipse helped a lot,
(12:26):
But to all those people, greatjob. You've clearly done. Good work.
It's so much cooler than ten fifteenyears ago whenever it was at the
Nader, and there's just a lotmore reasons to go down. Like if
there had been an eclipse in twothousand and eight, that would not have
made downtown cool. It was aplace that was incapable of being cool.
(12:48):
Yeah, downtown just didn't have anybodytrying to make it cool back then.
And now if you want to havea party, there's a ton of different
places down there that are perfect forhaving a large outdoor gathering. And we
just we've come so far as acity. We're doing a great job.
This weekend is a real validation ofit. I love living here. Let's
(13:09):
keep it going. Let's keep theparty going. Man, we ran off
the city manager, son of abitch. We still have the better TC.
Oh, it's right, Yeah, you could be city manager. I
don't think I would be. Imean we tried to talk him into it
last week. He did. Yeah, it's a lot of money. If
they want to pay me that salary, I will accept it. But how
(13:31):
much, if how much would ittake for us to give you, For
you to go in and find themayor of the highest ranking official you can
and tell them that you want tobe city manager, then you want them
to swap their TC for you ifyou don't got to pay me any money.
(13:52):
If I get a shot at them, I'll give them the pitch.
But what if it was like justfor a day city manager for a day,
I'll do it. Yeah, Ilove the city. It would be
cool to be city manager. Ijust think that they can find better candidates,
and it seems like they're in theprocess of it. Yeah. Probably.
I have a very high opinion ofmy managing ability, but I look
at people who don't have too whohave like some experience versus my next to
(14:18):
no experience. Yeah, and Ithink that I just think it's probably unlikely
they'll pick me. Well, Ithink you're quite squared away, and I'm
fully convinced and have seen what aquick study you are. Thanks man,
you learn quick. I think youwere the man for the job. I
write a letter you Dallas endorsement.I think i'd like to see mister Dallas
(14:41):
take a crack at it. Youlove Dallas. I do love Dallas,
But I'm not as organized nor asmotivated as you. You're a young,
highly motivated self starter. I amnot. Maybe they could hire both of
us. Maybe you could kind ofattack it at tandem. Yeah, like
in our old place there was asales job. It was split between two
women. Yeah, so it couldbe like that. We could be the
(15:03):
twins. Yeah, we could bethe twins. Forgot about that mister Dallas
would just be like fountains, morefountains, good ideas, that's right.
Fountains are never a bad idea. The fountain over there Clyde Warren Park looks
really fun. There's a full grownass man just running through it. Fully
right, he's having the time ofhis life because fountains. Gotta go have
(15:30):
yourself a ton eclipse. Yeah,we're crushing it down here at Clyde Warren
Park. We're having a good time. It got cool. He's still got
an hour to come hang out withus. It got dark, it did.
It got dark, and then itgot light and they got really hot.
Yeah, I got hot. Thereare dogs and there's a fountain though
that you could go dive in.The kids are playing and that one guy,
Hey, the Flicker's corny dogs.Guys still here. Yeah, crushed
(15:52):
one of those earlier. Not upsetabout that decision. That was right before
I had a full meal delivered tome coming up next. Let's have a
little fun drive, Pa, don'tput that on the internet. Next
