matchup that we have going on.Hit me catch me up, because we've
got the Central Division champion Dallas Starsthe Western Conference champion Dallas Stars. This
team is good. There are reallyno holes on this team. Like of
the last few seasons, it wasusually like, yeah, well defense,

we could really use somebody, orwe could really use a hard hitter.
We could really use a little bitmore depth when it comes to scoring.
There's like one line that would alwaysjust kind of be fluctuating. It wasn't
like a four line team where youget the waves of a tack offensively.
This Dallas Stars team has it all. Jim Noll knew that that's exactly what

needed to change is he added neededto add some depth. He needed to
add a huge veteran defenseman, astay at home kind of guy, and
that's what he did with Chris Tannevthis season and that has been working out
so well. It makes everybody elsebetter when you throw him into the mix,
and it's just a lot of fun. And you have the same veteran

guys who have a lot of playoffexperience that have experienced leading a team,
like Joe Povelski, like Jamie Benn, like Tyler Sagan. But now you
have the rise of some of theseyoung guys of the Wyatt Johnston, the
Logan Stankhovin, who both, bythe way, live with Joe Povelski right
now. Yes, Joe is notmaking love to his wife. Well,

it's probably a large house and they'reprobably on the other side of the house,
I would imagine, which you neverknow when one of them is going
to have a nightmare and come diveinto I don't think that they're having nightmares

be taking notice now because you havethe Western Conference champs, So this Stars
and the Las Vegas Golden Knights willbe facing off once again. Now there's

and they knocked off the Stars lastseason in the Western Conference Final, and
it was I had to like kindof refresh my memory with that series,
and then I remembered how painful itwas and why I put that out of

Then all of a sudden, thestars came roaring back and they won
a couple of games. They forceda game six, and then that game

a guy at the beginning of thegame and they're like, you're out.

Knights in that series, and heprobably wants this more than anybody on that
team right now. This season,between the Stars and the Golden Knights,
it hasn't been great. Las Vegashas beat us three times this season,
but they've been Two of those threegames were very close. We had one

shootout loss, one loss and overtime, and then there was one beat down
where we lost six to one.But they've been really really good, close
games. We haven't played them fora while. We didn't play them really
at the end of the season inthe last couple of months, so a
lot of things have changed. Butyeah, the Golden Knights beat US four

to two in the Conference finals lastyear then went on to win their first
Stanley Cup in franchise history, sothey've been riding high since then and there
once again back with a really goodteam. The other storyline, obviously,
is Stars head coach Pete de Boor. Las Vegas is where he spent three

years as head coach of the GoldenKnights, so he knows this team really
well when he was there. Heled Vegas to the conference finals in consecutive
years, and then they lost toDallas and that twenty nineteen twenty twenty season,
and then the Golden Knights missed theplayoffs the following season and that's when
they fired him, and then hefound himself in Dallas. Last year,

the Star or the Golden Knights hadAiden Hill in net and he's still their
goaltender, but they also have LoganThompson and both of them have had a
really good season. So I thinkit's a situation where they have two capable
goalies and we're not sure which onethey're going to start in this series.
Aiden Hill was a kind of crazystory. I remember last season in the

playoffs because he was young, hedidn't know much about him and he beat
us. It was like he wasreally good, and he's continued to be
really good. Hill has a twoto seventy one goals against average this season.
Logan Thompson's is to seventy. Sothey're really really even with how they've
been playing this season. Hill playedin two of the three games against Dallas

this year. He's good against US. Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars have Jacobinger
and Jake Gottinger has really started toget going in the last few weeks of
this season. When the Stars didhave a kind of dip mid season this

through something and he was dealing withinjuries. He was dealing with I think
like a mental kind of lapse maybewhere he just needed to get his confidence
back. He has been in theleague a few seasons, but he's still
a young guy. He's still ayoung young goaltender, and whatever it was

now he's playing I think the bestthat he has all season and net since
March third or since March first,he has a thirteen and three record.
Well, they ought to have confidenceif something happens in this series and he
kind of wabbles a little bit,they ought to have confidence in the backup

I they don't have confidence in Weggiebecause he played a lot this year for
him and he played well yeah yeah, and that's great and you're going to
need that because when we're talking aboutplaying every other night in the playoffs,

good tandem and net for Dallas.So this is gonna be so much fun.

going to be next Thursday, Sothere's a break in the action between Wednesday
and Friday. Friday, Friday nightMAVs Clippers seven o'clock that night, and
then the Stars the falling Saturday nightat nine thirty, so another late start
from them at least it's a Saturdaynight though late start game. And then

the following Sunday, So a weekfrom this Sunday, then you're going to
have an afternoon MAVs and Clippers game. Basically eight games and nine days to
start between the two except and isday nine the draft? Yeah, okay,
yeah, so nine for nine.As far as rus that people can
be watching and celebrating and paying attentionto, it's going to be a good

week. It's going to be agood two week. So now it looks
like we might have a little bitof a conflict if we get to game
fives, six's, and sevens betweenthese two teams, because on May first,
scheduled Game five for the MAVs andthe Stars. May third, Game
six for the MAVs and the Stars, May fifth, game sevens. Can

you imagine? Oh no, no, they can't be on the same day.

more. So, I thought maybewe'd take a closer look at this Stars
matchup that we have going on.Hit me catch me up, because we've
got the Central Division champion Dallas Starsthe Western Conference champion Dallas Stars. This
team is good. There are reallyno holes on this team. Like of
the last few seasons, it wasusually like, yeah, well defense,

we could really use somebody, orwe could really use a hard hitter.
We could really use a little bitmore depth when it comes to scoring.
There's like one line that would alwaysjust kind of be fluctuating. It wasn't
like a four line team where youget the waves of a tack offensively.
This Dallas Stars team has it all. Jim Noll knew that that's exactly what

needed to change is he added neededto add some depth. He needed to
add a huge veteran defenseman, astay at home kind of guy, and
that's what he did with Chris Tannevthis season and that has been working out
so well. It makes everybody elsebetter when you throw him into the mix,
and it's just a lot of fun. And you have the same veteran

guys who have a lot of playoffexperience that have experienced leading a team,
like Joe Povelski, like Jamie Benn, like Tyler Sagan. But now you
have the rise of some of theseyoung guys of the Wyatt Johnston, the
Logan Stankhovin, who both, bythe way, live with Joe Povelski right
now. Yes, Joe is notmaking love to his wife. Well,

it's probably a large house and they'reprobably on the other side of the house,
I would imagine, which you neverknow when one of them is going
to have a nightmare and come diveinto I don't think that they're having nightmares
diving into their bed. You can'tpicture Logan's stank of and diving in between
Joe and his wife. No,I had a scabby dweam. It's funny

though, because Joe and his wifejust have one son, and he's like
closer in age to these two thanthey are closer to Joe. They're getting
to be drunk. Yeah. Ithink there's probably the three best friends like
those two and Joe Pavelski's son.He was also a really good young hockey

follow everybody in that household around,especially if all of them act like they're

And his wife is super cool,she'd probably be done with it. Maybe

cam and the Pavelski household, sowhen you look at you know, just
the way that those young guys areplaying and leading the way and goal scoring
and vibing so well with the veteranguys and kind of giving them life,
giving Jamie ben Tyler Sagan life,making them feel young again again. And

then I didn't even mention Jason Robertsonyet Rope hints like, yeah, the
good players, Yeah, like theones who aren't necessarily an old man or
a young a young person, theones that are just in the middle that
are also awesome. Did you mentionMiro? I didn't even mention Miro.
I didn't even mention Mirro, Likeit's it Mirro. He's a defenseman.
Everybody forgets about him. Well,in Dallas, people don't forget about Mirror,

but yes, around the league,I don't think he gets talked about
enough because the Stars are kind ofhidden here in Dallas. But people will
be taking notice now because you havethe Western Conference champs, So this Stars
and the Las Vegas Golden Knights willbe facing off once again. Now there's
a lot of recent history here becauseLas Vegas obviously the Raining Cup champs,

and they knocked off the Stars lastseason in the Western Conference Final, and
it was I had to like kindof refresh my memory with that series,
and then I remembered how painful itwas and why I put that out of
my brain because Vegas, and thisseries took a three zero lead early on,

and it almost looked like Dallas wasjust done and like could get swept.
Then all of a sudden, thestars came roaring back and they won
a couple of games. They forceda game six, and then that game
six, we lost it home sixto zero. Do you all remember,
Yeah, And that's what that's whatwas Jamie Ben Yes, try to murder
a guy at the beginning of thegame and they're like, you're out.
I'm like, why did the captainget himself thrown out eight seconds? He

didn't mean too, He's just apassionate person when it comes to it,
blacked out. But he everybody else, I mean, he's a captain.
I know he's supposed to set thetone. It's redemption. He should know
that. He does know that.But you know how, sometimes your emotions
take over in your sight in certaincircumstances, and you do things that you

know that you shouldn't. That's kindof what happened there. But surely,
I mean, and Jamie Benn,like he's somebody that you just look at
and like, man, the guydeserves a Stanley Cup, Like he deserves
it, And he's just such agreat player, and you know that he's
remembering everything that happened last season withhim personally between the Stars and the Golden

Knights in that series, and heprobably wants this more than anybody on that
team right now. This season,between the Stars and the Golden Knights,
it hasn't been great. Las Vegashas beat us three times this season,
but they've been Two of those threegames were very close. We had one
(14:58):
shootout loss, one loss and overtime, and then there was one beat down
where we lost six to one.But they've been really really good, close
games. We haven't played them fora while. We didn't play them really
at the end of the season inthe last couple of months, so a
lot of things have changed. Butyeah, the Golden Knights beat US four

to two in the Conference finals lastyear then went on to win their first
Stanley Cup in franchise history, sothey've been riding high since then and there
once again back with a really goodteam. The other storyline, obviously,
is Stars head coach Pete de Boor. Las Vegas is where he spent three
(15:45):
years as head coach of the GoldenKnights, so he knows this team really
well when he was there. Heled Vegas to the conference finals in consecutive
years, and then they lost toDallas and that twenty nineteen twenty twenty season,
and then the Golden Knights missed theplayoffs the following season and that's when
they fired him, and then hefound himself in Dallas. Last year,
(16:07):
the Star or the Golden Knights hadAiden Hill in net and he's still their
goaltender, but they also have LoganThompson and both of them have had a
really good season. So I thinkit's a situation where they have two capable
goalies and we're not sure which onethey're going to start in this series.
Aiden Hill was a kind of crazystory. I remember last season in the

playoffs because he was young, hedidn't know much about him and he beat
us. It was like he wasreally good, and he's continued to be
really good. Hill has a twoto seventy one goals against average this season.
Logan Thompson's is to seventy. Sothey're really really even with how they've
been playing this season. Hill playedin two of the three games against Dallas
(16:53):
this year. He's good against US. Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars have Jacobinger
and Jake Gottinger has really started toget going in the last few weeks of
this season. When the Stars didhave a kind of dip mid season this
year, a lot of the reasonwas that Jake Gottinger was kind of going

through something and he was dealing withinjuries. He was dealing with I think
like a mental kind of lapse maybewhere he just needed to get his confidence
back. He has been in theleague a few seasons, but he's still
a young guy. He's still ayoung young goaltender, and whatever it was
that he was going through, hehas really worked himself out of and right
(17:36):
now he's playing I think the bestthat he has all season and net since
March third or since March first,he has a thirteen and three record.
Well, they ought to have confidenceif something happens in this series and he
kind of wabbles a little bit,they ought to have confidence in the backup
because that guy got a lot oftime. Loggie Yeah, Weggie, Like

I they don't have confidence in Weggiebecause he played a lot this year for
him and he played well yeah yeah, and that's great and you're going to
need that because when we're talking aboutplaying every other night in the playoffs,
like you're gonna have to slot inyour backup goaltender every once in a while.
And we have a really good oneand the two of them are really
good tandem and net for Dallas.So this is gonna be so much fun.

I know the team is probably whilethey're feeling like, oh, really,
Vegas, they're good and they wonthis Danley Cup and they knocked us
out last year in the West.Why are they such a crappy seed?
How does the winner of the Westhave to play a good hockey team?
It's just, yeah, well theway it all shook out, and now
they're trying to get people within thesame division to play each other, and

so it's just the way it shookout late in the season. But I
don't like it. It's it's gonnabe fun. It's gonna be good.
And the Stars, yes, theyprobably were hoping for somebody that maybe they
would match up a little bit betterwith. But at the same time,
it's like one of those things,if you want to be the best teams,
you might as well you got tobeat the best teams. And so
they have a challenge, they havean opportunity to get revenge for last season,

a season where they thought they reallyhad a great chance to go to
the Stanley Cup Final, and thisteam is the one that stood in the
way. So this is going toget going Sunday or sorry, Monday.
Sunday is the Mavericks and then Mondayis the Stars. So Stars and Golden
Knights kicking off Monday at eight thirty, and this is going to be fun.
