hard By that main Street accident, hard By Olive Garden too. I
can see it out the windows.Yes, all kinds of stuff out here,

(01:41):
but it is Buffalo Wild Wings withwhich we are concerned today. I'd
like to come out here and hangwith us. Well, I'm sure they
would love to have you. Wewould love to have you, You would
love to have you. You wouldlove to do it. So what's stopping
you? What's stopping to anybody fromdoing anything? Yeah, yeah, good
question. It is. It's avery existential question, the kind that I'm

(02:01):
really good at. What's stopping anyonefrom doing anything. Yes, right,
I could come up with all kindsof questions like that, and the answers
for none of them. Yep.Yeah. I got asked a really kind
of hard, existentially questioned by mydaughter this morning. Murder babies come from
no. But that's the thing withkids. We've done this segment. It's

(02:22):
been a long time where I presentedto you guys, Mike, you were
there, and the kids are thequestions that I get asked by my kids
that I have no idea what toanswer. This morning, I was asked,
is magic real? Kind of isn'tthat hard? You're driving, You're
trying to cross over in a couplelanes of traffic, You're trying to get

(02:42):
somewhere, and someone in the backseat says, is magic real? And
you say, you know what, strap in girl, It's gonna be a
long conversation because once upon a time, the idea of us getting home and
hitting something on the wall and theroom lighting up, that was magic.
Anything that we don't yet understand isin place for her tonight. Keep going.
Anything that we don't yet understand ismagic. Yeah, once upon a

(03:06):
time, the idea that I couldtravel from here to six hundred miles away
in two hours. What Yeah, and then we learned to fly. That's
right. Magic. Anything that wedon't understand is magic until we understand it.
Or you could tell her that ifthere's ever an answer to that question,
that will be magic. Yeah, she's just going to leave the conversation

(03:30):
so much more confused than when shecame. Tell her to give a Google
to Gandolf. She done Google,She's five. To get her a Lord
of the Rings book. Probably startwith Harry Potter. Yeah, yeah,
Probably start with Harry work your wayup to Lord of the Rings. Lord
of the Rings would be a toughread in twenty twenty four, you think,
Yeah, I mean it was writtenback in the early nineteens. It's

(03:52):
tough read for a kiddo. Yeah. Give her some Harry Potter, she'll
understand magic. Okay, Well, this isn't speak easy and blow wild wings
in grape Vine on one four hardby that proverbial main street exit which will
take you into the heart of downtownGrapevine, the very exit you take to

(04:15):
get to Tobarts, which Petty Theftwill be playing in a couple of weeks.
Sorry, Oh, that's that's theway to describe that's neither here to
bear. It's a good point. We got radio to do today. Yeah,
man, get around there, backit up about two steps in an
exit, you'll be here. Iwould be Mike Rener. That's Jeff Cavanaugh,

(04:36):
that's Julie Dobbs, that's Shoopy downthere, hip and we are here
for your edification. We have Maddieat the helm back at the mother ship
today, Maddie and uh yes,we are ready to roll accordingly for the
next four hours. But this isnot just any day. This is not
just any four hours. This isnot just anything. What you got there?

(04:58):
I got a little creature. YouWe got a little creature with at
least a little silver fish or something. And what real? Distracted by a
bugger? Yeah? Yeah, it'sgot eight little legs and it's cruising around
on a paper. Have you everseen a bug before? How do you
get up here? This is nota flying creature? How do you get
up here? Is a sea monkey? I don't know to get Okay,
I let to get on my pin. Let's make it our our special little

(05:19):
show mascot here, Julie, youcan have him. Okay, what's his
name? Todd Spot? I likeTodd. Yeah, I got a little
creature on a pen. Come out. You know this isn't a woman,
dude. They had a problem ina zoo like that. They seven years
later realized their hippos a female.I saw the headline. I haven't clicked

(05:40):
on it yet. Sounds like aproblem. Yeah. Sorry, But what
Mike was saying is, this isa four hour pregame show for the NFL
Draft. It goes down tonight.See you, now, Julian Grooves are
distracted because I got the bug andwhat to do with it. So tonight
you and Kevin Turner are going tobe holding forth out here, are you?

(06:02):
Yeah? And when the idea wastossed to me, Hey, you
want to do an NFL Draft show, I was like, sure, I
love the Draft. It'll be great. And I didn't really think about clocks.
So we'll finish at six. Thedraft starts at seven, So that's
an hour of pregaming the draft.I believe we're down to ten minutes to
pick these days, instead of fifteenI think, but even by that math,
that's six picks an hour, sixtwelve eighteen twenty four. That's four

(06:24):
hours. I might be here tillmidnight. Bruh, damn, you're a
trooper. I'd be true. Thisis what you signed up for. I
like the draft a lot. TheNFL Draft makes me very happy. What
if somebody would have told you fifteenyears ago that one of these days you're
going to be somewhere talking about thedraft. You know what, that's a
great question for a Thursday, ifwe want to make it like a gratitude

(06:46):
Thursday, because I would have said, you're insane, Like and I don't
know, maybe I'm unique in that, but to get to where I've ended
up in the world. When thestep back and look at it, is
like there are people in the worldwho care what I think about the Dallas
Cowboys in the NFL Draft. Whatthat seems insane? It was very real

(07:11):
before you got into radio. Couldyou have imagined that fast forward and people
are going to talk about that isa radio legend? No, built a
dynasty? No, my Texas Rangersleader. No, I should don't have
imagined that. Crazy, right,it is? It's crazy, but it's
crazy. How did we get crazy? I don't know how we got here?

(07:33):
What were real little kid dreams?Like is there a job that you
always wanted to have? Since youwere a kid, and is this it
we did have? You know whatif I had the wherewithal at the age
of like eight or ten to knowthat there was a job out there that
it was like talking about sports andhaving fun with friends, Yes, that
would have been my dream job evenas an eight year old, because all

(07:54):
I did was watch Sports Center ona loop. But I was probably like
every kid my parents. I don'tknow if everybody kept a book. But
each year when I was a yearolder, it was like my new friends
this year, this is my bestfriend. Here's what I want to be
when I grow up, uh huh. And I mean there's all sorts of
stuff in there. Fire firefighter.I definitely want to be a top gun
pilot at one point. Of course, I don't even know what it spans,

(08:18):
but I definitely remember far fire. The typical kid dream jobs to gun
firefighter, firefighter. Yes, Inever had any real aspirations like that.
All I wanted was to get agirl to pay attention to me. You
know, the last few years ofyour career, maybe the last year of
your career. We really dug intothe therapy you need, and I think

(08:39):
it's great that you have the awareness. All you wanted was to be noticed
by the ladies and to not bebullied. Yes, that's all you wanted
in the world. I would havetaken that and been very happy with as
far as what I was going tobe and how was I was going to
make my way through this world?Huh? I thought I would do it
playing music, playing drums something orother. But no, no, that

(09:00):
was not to be. So dothat? Well, yeah, I do
it. We can do it,but I mean with a very popular band,
and as well. You know,Talberts isn't far from Buffalo, Wild
Wings and Grapevine. Certainly, maybethat's where we are right now. We're
Buffalo, Wild Wings and Grapevine. We'll be here forever. Come on out.
Yvonne is really happy to find thatout too. But oh, we're

(09:24):
here till midnight. He gave mea look like what, oh yeah,
so did we not tell you this. Here's the good news. There's no
chance the company is going to payyou for that either, so don't worry
about it. But it's fine.Let us introduce you to the Mexican What
he's right there, turn your micis choking on his buffalo. That went

(09:56):
just like I hope to would atthat restaurant on the air. You set
yourself up forever, Mike. Letus all right, the Mexican. All
right, I realized. I realizedwhen I was doing that that I was
setting myself up for something awful.I was just talking about a restaurant that's

(10:18):
its fame. Let me introduce youto the White Let us introduce you to
the Mexican. Is here right herein the flesh Oh god, lounge?

(10:43):
Yeah, no way, yes,he stepped in from guarding it. No,
no, this is just a spotfor it. This is not the
lounge. It was just there.I just was, yes, just in
the lounge. It was wow.Wow. They got the A lists to
go amazing big screen. I'll tellyou as Rads is the bouncer. Well

(11:07):
that was a big update. Theygave us that the Rangers had a kla
at one point. And then thanksfrom the room to go lounge, to
go to the lounge to get thatupdates. All kinds of magic happens in
the rooms rooms to go loud.Should you imagine how cool would be to
get lucky in the rooms to gongman, get your chriss in that place.
Just make sure you turn all thecameras off. Yeah, no,

(11:28):
put on a show. That's reallyall I wanted this world. Kick a
foot up and get to work. You know, I don't know. The
chairs don't look very comfy for thattype of thing. It's the rooms to
go loud, just the most comfortablechairs. But they kid me those chairs
could be a little more comfortable.Tell me, if I go to rooms

(11:50):
to go, I'm getting bad furniture. They have very good furniture. Okay,
I'm just not sure that those chairsare necessarily for rooms to go.
Okay, Okay, Well, I'mjust saying in general, for that act,
you want something besides a chair.Take what I can get out.
Yeah. You know, in asituation like that, you probably do make
do with whatever's there, whatever's onhand. Mike and I are not picky.

(12:15):
It's been a rough decade that hasyou know, it has a very
rough decade. I don't believe it. Once on Mike's mind the same what's

(12:46):
we lost him? I think he'sgone. Mike's mind is fueled by Celsius
Essential Energy drinks. I had oneearlier. Todd went to find his family.
He's going to be with the Lord. He is sentient, maybe yes,
he is, he's got feelings.Maybe would you like a story about
a freak out of the air thathappened not too long ago? Yeah?
Man, Hey, did you guyssee what happened with with a crazy plain

(13:09):
lady? No, she got sponsored. She finally did. Uh, she
finally did. Where you start toget famous and you want to get more
famous, and so you pick aside. Oh no, So she posted
a picture on social media in atwo piece, little tiny bikini that was
it said ultra right beer she pickedso she picked a political side to make

(13:30):
sure that she could get another rebumpand being online, so a bunch of
people like hell yeah girl, anda bunch people are like, screw you
girl, And she was like,I don't know why people are responding like
this. She's liking a bikini.Huh uh huh oh yeah she is.
Oh god, we can get heron. We can definitely get her on.
Now she wants to definitely want toget for it. Boy, we'll

(13:52):
give her a form. Well. This was on a United Airlines flight from
Denver to Toronto where a passenger wasapparently granted and tell me how this happens
unauthorized access to the cockpit she sheeshot of a United Airlines Holding's charter flight,

(14:13):
A charter flight which was carrying theColorado Rockies. Oh, male or
female that was granted this access?Does it say who is the disturber?
Wasn't it a coach with the Rockiesat Hensley Mullens or something like that?
Okay, so it is a guythat well, I don't know why then,
because being hot as a guy doesn'tget you as many things as it

(14:37):
does for girls. Yeah, andI'm not saying it was it was Rocky's
personnel. Was there more to thisstory than what I had? I might
have my stories confused. Then,Well, this guy was caught on video
that was posted online on April tenth, and United Airlines says in the statement
that it's deeply disturbed by the video. I don't like being deeply disturbed when
an organization says it's deeply disturbed, don't I say Colorado Baseball team? Yeah?

(15:01):
Okay, what is Colorado Rockies?Yeah? Just needed a spot.
Well. The video has since beendeleted from the social media account of the
individual, whoever the individual here is, but you can find it, according
to this story elsewhere online. Theairline says that it's grounded pilots involved in

(15:24):
the flight while it conducts an investigation. They just popped open the door and
let a dude come up in there. Yeah, so it was their coach,
Hinsley Mullens. I believe they're hittingcoach. Oh. He was just
like, man, I sure wouldlike to see what's going on up there,
and they're like okay, and theytook video and he's like, this
is pretty sweet. I don't mindthat. What's the problem. Yeah,
I mean, I guess we can'tbe letting people in the cockpit, but

(15:46):
if everybody was comfy, cozy withit, I got no problem with that
swing through. Yeah. Well thiswas a charter flight anyway. Yeah,
so you know, they don't followa lot of the rules on those charter
flights. They drink a whole whocharter flight people, Yes, I do,
the people that are flying. Yeahyeah, I mean not like the

(16:06):
pilot, but the passengers. Hekyah, they do all the all the
things. There's so much gambling onthose flights. I wish I had mony
money so that I could lose itand have fun with my friends. And
that sound fun. Yeah, thatsounds great. Well, the people who
rule aviation the FAA has taken stepsas they evaluate this scene because nobody is

(16:29):
supposed to be able to get intothe cockpit, and they're wondering how Hensley
Mulins might have managed this. They'relooking at United, looking at the way
they run things, looking at theteam, looking at just about everybody involved,
and they say they have taken stepsto temper United's near term growth by

(16:51):
not allowing new planes or new citiesto be added to its operating certificates.
So, in other words, there'sa lot of jackassery and stuff going on
this charter flight of a base witha baseball team assing around and assing around,
and somebody gets a little bit outof hand, gets into the cockpit,
goes where he shouldn't go. Nobodydid anything about it, so the

(17:14):
airlines has to take the hit forthis. I mean he didn't hit the
eject button, did he? Youknow? I mean, yeah, but
I could see where the cockpit shouldbe a very safe place, and you
shouldn't just let anybody into the cockpit. Not anybody is, you know,
coach, But still, like whatif he you don't want to press the
wrong button in there? There's alot of buttons to put, Yeah,

(17:37):
yeah, the big planes are thoseones are probably pretty tough. I couldn't
land. You don't. You don'twant a drunk hitting coach going up there
and getting in and going, man, what happened to my push? That?
Your right about enough when people tryto do that in the control room,
like what's that button? Do?Well? What happened to you?
A lot not too often people wouldtry to do that when I would work

(17:57):
Stars games, because where I inthe open, you know, oh yeah,
so there would be people that aretrying to be funny. You'd be
like, oh, look at me, I'm in the Oh my gosh,
you're trying to be all nice.So you can like say by to them,
but also like, don't touch mydowns Like no, yes, Shoopy,
No, did you have security watchingover you, Shoopy? Yeah,
he wasn't very good. Oh no, I like to do that to Shippy

(18:18):
now. Yeah. I just walkup there and just start hitting things,
fire off songs. It's good. It's a good time. By the way,
when I was there the other night, yeah, I heard mister Bright's
side not there you go. ButI don't know well enough to know if
it was it or not. ButI think that's it was I heard,
I bet it was. They playthat at all of them, don't they
just about Yeah, adding friends inlow places. Well, this is on

(18:41):
the heels of the fuselage panel breakingoff the Alaska Airlines plane on January fifth,
mid flight. Remember that one, don't you. I'm done with planes,
man, Yeah, I'm about donewith planes. I don't trust him
anymore. Along with the mishaps thatUnited, including a wheel falling off a
plane shortly after takeoff and aircraft thatveered off a Houston runway a wheel and

(19:03):
an emergency landing landing after an enginebegan spewing flames. That's always fun.
Cool that you guys will notice.I walked here today from home. Yeah,
I'm done with transportation. Yeah, even the cars. Yeah, I'm
done with transportation. I just can'ttrust it. He did not walk here
today, No, you didn't.Well, we still have to trust our

(19:26):
cars because we need to be ableto walk outside of our own neighborhood.
But I can see where you don'twant to get on a plane right now.
Your car, you love where youlive. Your car told you to
f off not long. Yeah,it really did. It's like, no,
I'm good. It was very scary. Have you got it back?
I got it back? Oh good, Yeah, I got it back.
And turns out it was like anelectrical problem, like we thought the computer.
Basically I was driving on the tollwayand the thing just stopped. Yeah,

(19:48):
the whole thing just stopped. Thecar just shut down. Yep,
that's not supposed to happen. No, and then it popped back on,
but it was long enough to obviously, you know, payanach and trying to
figure out what to do and getoff to the side of the road and
all that where your life kind offlashes before your eyes. Did you make
any animal sounds? I don't thinkso, Like my car just stopped when

(20:11):
I'm on the tollway and I waslike me, no, yeah, it
was probably something like that, Butyeah, it is. It is kind
of scary. Place a lot oftrust in these things. That's right.
Plane the plane stuff is insane. That's insane. And we may have to
talk about it at three o'clock becausenow they're like, yeah, if her

(20:33):
plane is delayed three hours or more, we're gonna give you a refund.
And like at first I was like, that's really exciting, and then I
was listening to the men and Skinshow, and Skin was like, you
do realize that now they're just goingto make sure the plane gets in the
air no matter what, right,And I'm like, oh, the son
of a bitch and sure to goup too. Oh no, we're in
trouble the whole thing. We're introuble. Yah. Well, nobody died
there, the Rockies got on theground. Everything's okay. Presumably they got

(20:57):
the whoever it is off the planeand they're throwing the book at him to
the highest degree that they possibly can, and we all play on from here.
I hope the coach got to landthe plane, you know. Yeah,
I hope he did too. That'sall he wanted to do. I
just want to put it down. That's all anybody wants to do. I
mean, everybody goes through your wholelife, and you know how many people

(21:21):
get to land an airplane? Right? And I know I could is the
thing. I could do it andyou could not. I don't think I
could do a commercial airline. Ifyou're saying I don't have anybody in the
tower to talk to with something thetower to be easy, but a standard
like prop plane, I set thatsucker down tomorrow Okay, I could do
that. If anybody has a propplane, bring it out to Buffalo Wildwin

(21:44):
and I'm gonna take that sucker fora spin. Yes, we're gonna get
that thing up in the air fromout here in the parking lot. JEP
will be at the hell Yeah,I'm a center back down on one fourteen
and then you got to come getit. I'm gonna walk back into Buffalo
Wild Wings and set it down tothe Tolbert's parking We can send Todd the
bug with you, but none ofus are hopping on that plane. Yeah,
it'll be great. All right,Well, we are here Buffalo Wild

(22:06):
Wings in Grapevine off of one fourteen. Come and hang out with us all
day and night. As we gotthe draft coming up this evening and Kevio
and I will be here to coverit for you. Sports desk is coming
