Speaker 2 (00:12):
Oh my goodness, light the beam. We are back in
the room once again, here on the sports Cave with
biggest Puma. I am your host, Sam Freeze, Broadcasting in
the Greater Northwest side of San Antonio, where we find
ourselves twenty eight days away from the NBA Draft. It's

(00:33):
gonna fall nicely. Looking at the calendar, it's a Wednesday
night show.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
A Wednesday night, but then the second half is gonna
be Thursday.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah, but again, the NBA is so long, no one
cares like, who's I mean. Granted, I'm gonna watch that
because I am the sicko they're targeting.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
But you know, I actually ran into someone that goes
to the NBA Draft in Brooklyn every year, and he
says the tickets are only seventy bucks and it's like
a good time. He's it's a.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Fun time, man.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
He's like, dude, I go every year. So he's gonna
be out there repping the Spurs and he says, everybody
loves the Spurs out there.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well, hopefully he's listening, because we're going to talk a
little Spurs in the main segment tonight because I feel
like we haven't done our due diligence when it comes
to what they're going to do with that second first
round pick in four weeks, that fourteenth overall pick. So
we're gonna talk about that and just kind of some
general talk about the Spurs current timeline and some options

(01:31):
they could go as we look forward over the next
four weeks with the NBA winding down in the silly
season of trades and off season starting to pop up.
But as always, we obviously didn't do a show Monday
for the holidays. We've got a lot to catch up
to or catch up on. But before we get going,

(01:52):
LG tell the good people how they can help us
out here. How they can subscribe.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Sure, you can subscribe by hitting that button right there
on your screen. If you're on YouTube, if you're on Twitch,
you can hit the follow button, and if you're on Facebook,
you can hit the like button. Please love it it
hit all three yep, and she likes to say yeah.
Speaking of hitting all three, you can also give us
the tip at buy me at coffee dot com slash

(02:20):
sports Cave Live. As you can see on the screen
right there, we appreciate all your tips and they will
be used to make our show much better.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yes, And if you missed any of the shows last week,
we actually got into finally got into a little bit
of NFL talk as well, had some NFL headlines grab
bags I think that was.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Starting.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, And we had volunteer voluntary, Yeah, very very voluntary.
Had you know some of the they had just done
the owners meeting last week, so we had we were
talking Tush Push and all the hard Knocks teams for
this upcoming season. So definitely go back. If you don't
need the video versions of this thing, trust me, I understand,

(03:05):
but those audio versions are available for you always, so
go get caught up on those. Again, we missed Monday,
so we've got a lot to catch up on Memorial Day.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Thank you to all the vets. Absolutely served.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I man, I we'll just start with that. We'll start
with a little we'll call this a little holiday recap
because we're gonna talk what I watched because it was
all sports, and it's anti climactic, anti climactic sports. Now
with every series being a three to one series, you're.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Just sad because your stars.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Well of course I am, of course I am. But
before we talk to sports, we'll just do a little
bit of holiday, because talking to you boys, it sounds
like y'all actually accomplished way more than I completely forgot
it was a holiday. Like Sunday afternoon. You know, Steph
is the roommate's starting. I'm expecting her to start doing
her Sunday late afternoon evening routine of getting ready for

(04:03):
the work week. It come Monday, and some laundry, yeah, exactly,
any kind of the you know, the household errands that
Sunday night usually.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Dishes because we know Puma doesn't do them.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Hey, you that is true. But but we're making progress there.
We're making progress. One thing I am equally proud of
but also incredibly frustrated by, is we don't have like
I don't like I'm not a big fan of, like
fancy appliances. They just break. Like, we don't have a

(04:37):
dishwasher like we can. You can wash dishes. It's not
that hard.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's not a fancy appliance.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Oh, it is where I how I grew up.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I mean I grew up. I only got used on Thanksgiving.
But it's like it's a household now item for nineteen
eighties and on.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, well my house was built in nineteen twelve, so
there's there's some explanation to it. But now we uh
you know, I was expecting her to start to get
into her Sunday night routine and all of a sudden
she hits me with, so what are we doing tonight?
And I'm like, what do you what do you mean? Like,
you know, there's no bluchoo involved.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
And this little pizza, no.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
That pizza, this was only uh you know, this is
the sun hadn't even gone down, And so quickly I
started I kind of do the because my thought is like, oh, hell,
I've forgotten about something that Like she's fishing to to
try to see if I remember birthday anything.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
This anniversary, dude, I hope your I hope your girl
wife isn't wasn't as bad as mine. Like we had
first date anniversary, half birthdays, engagement anniversary. That's scene control Facebook,
that's anniversaries.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
That's as much on you as it is the other individual.
That's that's land of control.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
There. Blame myself on a lot of things.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
The one thing, the one the one battle I have
lost with her when it comes to that, it is
it's birthday month, not day, and that if that's the
only thing I mean, I'm talking I will trade birthday
month if it means I don't have to ever get
a Valentine's Day gift. So fair trade off. Okay, there's
a lot of BS holidays out there.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
You're gonna trade off like, let's say twenty nine days,
unless it's in February for one day.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, because it's the no, no, no, no, no, it's
it's the accumulation of days like that, like Valentine's Day
or then, like you said, like the Facebook anniversary or
any of those fake anniversary.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Mine was special. That's not really a thing. That was
just a thing for her.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I'm still I'm still on the fence. Still you still
haven't convinced me. No. I completely forgot it was a holiday.
And then when we were talking about, uh, you know,
when the three of us were talking about whether to
do the show Monday, at that point it's I'm on hold.
As soon as I realized it was a holiday, I
made plans like we're on holiday mode. Now.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I saw your head, I saw the gears working in
your head. You're like, well, we can't do it. But
then I was like, we can do a Tuesday Thursday show.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I said to you I was like, are we taking
the day off? You're like, no, we're working.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
I was like, I don't think so. I think it's
a holiday, bro, And you're like, no, we're working. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Text like an hour later, okay, we're taking the day off.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Exactly literally that hour I texted y'all, that was the
hour I realized it was a holiday again. Like, I know,
we had talked about it, but then when I talked
to you, no, no clue, man.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Again, though we take we take federal holidays off.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, there is no shame in that defense.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Don't get paid. You don't get paid.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
If I heart is paying me to take the day
off and call it a holiday, I'm taking the day off. Yeah.
And so granted, all that being said, the only the
most exciting thing that happened over the holiday weekend. First
time maybe ever actually saw someone get stretched out of

(08:14):
a bar restaurant situation. Now, is this out of a
bar or just on a stretcher period? So out of
a like, uh, that's out of establishment. Yeah, yeah, not period.
You know, I've seen like car wrecks or stuff like that,
but like I had never been sitting somewhere.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I feel like you've lived a sheltered life, sir, or
maybe I've just been in the bar way too many
or or I've lived a life.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Where you don't call those services. That's exactly right. That's
like I one time I passed out at Texas State
smashed my head on the callum the pillar that was
right out in front of our apartment town home over
there on Cratick Street. And I remember it was me
and two buddies, my roommate and a friend and I

(09:02):
pass out smash my head. I wake up. My buddy's
on the phone with the ambulance giving them the direction,
and I just start screaming, hang up, I'm fine, like
it's gonna be fine. I'm just dehydrated.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Like crawling over them, half dead like the phone.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
The buddy is like telling me, like, no, calm down,
you hit your head where It was like no, no,
we've he's got to hang up now, like I can't,
we can't do this, but no, it was it was
Sunday night when when step asked, uh, you know, the
roommate asked what we were gonna do, and so I
scrambled to come up with, well, I mean there's sports
on TV. Let's go to a establishment that serves alcohol

(09:39):
and shows sports.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
So ended up.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
That's always a good plan, right there, ended up at
the neighborhood bar. And again I forgot it was a holiday.
I wasn't thinking holiday mode. So the bar's packed. I
mean it's smashed, uh you know, nut to butt everywhere
inside because everyone wants the ac.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Yeah that was on Monday or Sunday.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
On Sunday, Sunday night because no.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
One had to work Monday, north Side completely dead, really
completely dead. Like we had the opposite effects. So either
everybody went downtown but most of our people, you know,
I guess most of my friends have families and kids.
They were down at the beach or doing something like that.
But yeah, man, it was dead everywhere. You had the
same old like barflies being all mad like and I'm like, no.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
In my neighborhood it was the barfly. Yeah, it was
the barflies being mad because it was so packed. It
was the opposite.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
It's still mad, but.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Just for opposite reasons.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
So we're sitting you know, I didn't want to be
uh inside, like, you know, I'm smoker, so I'm chain
smoking while watching sports, sitting outside, and all of a
sudden flashing lights are are behind us, and it's like,
you know, an indoor outdoor bar, a whole outdoor.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Patio like a garage.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah yeah, yeah, exactly exactly. So me and the roommate
are sitting out back and jokingly, you know, the lights
are going and you know, Steph says, there's a bunch
of fireman's or a bunch of firefighters firemen that are
parked right outside the gate to get into the bar.
And I'm like looking around, like trying to figure out, like,

(11:19):
is this somebody's like fortieth birthday party and they got
like stripper firemen to show up at the bar. So,
you know, like I'm trying because I again, there's no commotion.
There's no one like yelling compliances for that, getting help
or anything.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
And so then after the fire truck stops, then a
meat wagon pulls up, an ambulance pulls up, and so
now I'm and I'm looking around.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Meat wagons are different than the moment. The meat wagons
the corner.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
They're all the same, interchangeable, interchangeable. This lady, I was like, man,
someone died saying no, this lady needed neither ambulance or
hearse dehydration. So at this point, the firemen are like
running through the backyard to try to figure out where
they you know, who called them, uh and the ambulance

(12:09):
or you know, they've got their whole. The paramedics have
their whole little you know, backpack of goodies. They're running
around following the firemen. Eventually they walk up to just
this random woman who's sitting just on her chair, just normal,
she's sitting there. And finally, after walking around and so
like now they're inside and I'm looking through to see

(12:30):
like what is going on in there? They walk up
to just a random woman who is sitting there and
as they walk, as they walk past, she like taps
one on the shoulder and it's like, I called, y'all,
what she having? Like a mile the heart attack Again,
I hesitate to because we could have some underlying health

(12:50):
issues that aren't noticeable, that aren't immediately identifiable. But it
really looked, really looked like a woman who just baby
was tired of being there and was ready to go home.
But like I didn't want to walk through the crowd,
like it was the weirdest thing, right local, She starts
to try to walk out with them and They're like, no, no, man,

(13:13):
like we're here, let's put you on a stretcher. So
at this point she's laughing at the fact that she's
being put on a stretcher.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
The whole thing was just is this one of those
Like it's like one of those I ate a bunch
of pop brownies and time is going by.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Really, now you're getting closer. Now you're getting closer to
what I think was really.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Happening there much. I think she took too much, man.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I think I think the US, as Dan Patrick is
trying to save all of our lives by banning th HC.
I think she was. I think she had made one last, one,
last big order and was had mayby loaded up a
little too much, because again, appearances wise, there was nothing

(13:58):
wrong with her and she wasn't like panic, frantic anything.
She was a little too calm even again, like I
we asked. We ended up asking the bartender. That sounds
about right, and they said, uh, the she had called
because uh heat exhaustion, like she but she's sitting indoors
in the ac like it. It was twenty degrees cooler

(14:22):
inside than it was outside, and it wasn't like it
was one hundred outside.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Well, I mean your hot it's different from somebody else's side,
like eight, Like LG likes to keep it seventy eight
in here, which is inhuman.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm freezing. I'm gonna start bringing
a jacket. This is my house, my old drafty house.
Can't stay this cold. It's a battle NonStop in the summer.
But I hadn't seen I hadn't seen anyone, especially again,
someone who didn't necessarily look like.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
They needed needed it. So I'm gonna go with edibles.
I'm gonna go with edibles.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
That was what the roommate and I finally landed on
is that she probably is someone like it's a holiday weekend,
probably someone that doesn't do a whole lot.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Yeah, it's only ten milligrams, and it's like, no, it's
one hundred milligrams.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, or they told her it was like it's only
five milligrams, but then she ate six of them. Yeah, exactly, Well,
now you're up to it.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
It was like that show's studio that was on Spoiled
or there we have a Hollywood buffet, and like he
was really geeked on, like saying, oh, it's a Hollywood buffet,
which means.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
All the drugs. Yeah, it's like old like rapids, just
munching down these chocolates and he's all like, how many
have you had of those? And she's like, don't be
shaming me, which comes to my story later. And she
eats like probably an ounce of mushrooms and goes into
her little goes on her journey. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
I was about to say though, which is hilarious that
uh judging by the judging by the ladies demeanor first, Well, yeah,
that's the other thing again.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
I think it gets hot out there for us man.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, there were there were a multitude of of potential
contributors to the position she found.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Herself, or what they call it during COVID, like you
have different alerts.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Or like if you have this you were oh, they're
different like symptoms.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah, yeah, prediagnosed symptoms or something like that. It's a
big one. Yeah. But speaking of speaking of big old fats,
like I'm out, I'm out this weekend, just you know,
watching sports, doing what we do, and I go to
grab some of this orange chicken from my friends poker plays. Man,

(16:48):
great food. Would not believe it, but like they have
it's like a Bennigan's. So they have so they have
a bunch of different themes. They have Italian, Mexican, you
get breakfast, they got Asian and all this stuff. I
ordered the orange chicken, all right, and it's loud. I

(17:08):
can't hear anything, and I thought I heard egg roll
and I was like, yeah, I'll take six of them
because I'm coming back to the bar and I'm going
to hand them out for some people. Well, I'm probably
gonna be about two or three of them. But here
here's a question. If someone's serving at least six dishes

(17:29):
of Asian food Chinese food mainly, do you expect them
to have egg rolls? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Yeah, absolutely, that's clear.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Absolutely, Like that's part of the special. It's a no brainer.
Like you're serving Chinese food, you have egg rolls. Well,
she me and her get back and forth and like
I know which bartender it is, and she's all sitting
there like you really want six? And I'm like, don't
fat shame me? Man, I was like, yeah, I want six.
You never like She's like are you serious? And she

(18:02):
asked it like seven times, and I was like, I
was like did I stutter? Man? Like, come on, man,
let's just put it in. You guys, close it one.
It's twelve forty five. You know the you know the
word deal. I do here?

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Wait, you were ordering fifteen minutes before they closed. They
know me.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
I tipped oh okay, fair fair, And I get there
and she comes over. I'm going over to get the
food and there's three big old bags and I'm like,
who's that for.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
She's like one put in a big order.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
She's like, you ordered six orange chickens. It's like, who
on Earth orange orders six servings of orange chickens.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
She's like you, And I'm like no. I was like,
I ordered six egg rolls. You know, we don't serve
egg rolls. And I'm like, well, how the hell would
I know that? Like you serve orange chicken. I thought
you served egg rolls.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
That's like going to a McDonald's that doesn't serve chicken
nuggets or something like.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Every they made they were gaslining me, making me think
I was the crazy one. Of course, So I sat
there and I was like, I'm not, man, do I
need to call my boy heady on this one? Man?
Because like, you should have never taken that away. You
should have waited for me to come here. And be
like we'll cook them now, but no one in the
world's don't worry six orange chickens, and like, I sat

(19:23):
there and played some poker, you know, while the rest
they literally sold it just chicken wait till yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
It's half price orange chicken and it's ready right now
for you to grab and go.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
So that's why I was like, man, I felt really
fat shamed by you. But yeah, that is that is
pretty awkward with the six orange chickens.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
The only time something similar to that's happened when my
cousin here's a here's a family humble brag. When my
cousin was studying nuclear thermal engineering at m I T
exactly a big time, big time.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
She's a bad.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Naval nuclear Uh get out here nerd. Yeah, exactly. She's
doing her Uh she's doing her doctorate now, uh through
the Navy. But uh when she was when she was
living in Boston, we went up there to visit one
time and went into a pizzeria. Yeah, pretty basic, pretty simple,

(20:26):
little neighborhood spot. We walk in. As soon as I
go to order, I'm like, uh, we want a large
pepperoni in an order of a garlic k Nott uh,
and then a you know, a medium whatever. My mom,
it was like a it's like a order Canadian, but yeah, right,

(20:46):
But the key is the order itself, because he starts
to repeat stuff and he's like, got a large pep
gtic and it's all and I'm and I'm just standing there.
It's like I'm in it stand bull hearing a man
repeat my order in Turkish and I'm just like, right,

(21:06):
but it's that Boston, you know, very specific. But I
kept getting hung up on the fact he was saying
garlic knots. But it was like god not, you know,
and I'm just like, no, no, no, garlic knot They
don't say teas right exactly. And so finally he just
holds the ticket up to me and shows me and
he's like mocking me, like yes, yes, is this right?

Speaker 1 (21:28):
And at that point I just.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Kind of had to tuck my tail and be like
this is when you want to just punch a boss,
because I'm arguing with him that he's got my order wrong,
and he finally just showed me like.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
It's like dog dogs, Oh yes, I like Dyke's.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Exactly straight out of Snatch LG.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
How about you?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
How was your holiday weekend.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
It was all right. I didn't do too much. I worked,
I went up to Austin and flew some drone and
went and testrove a vehicle.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Oh, you just bought the vehicle. What's u I did?

Speaker 3 (22:02):
It's a Ford. That's why he wants to get rid
of it.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Not necessarily, but you know, it's just looking out there.
I'll just keep my eyes open.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
If we're if we're backing on his forward what I
am assuming it wasn't a Ford you test drove, No.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
It was not.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
It was a Tesla Model three.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Okay, Trader, you're such a trump plane.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Hey, I'm not gonna lie. The roommate and I have
been looking at him too, because.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Now the time. It's the time.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah, and I'm going to test drive a y A
Model ye tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
I drove a Model Wide to Houston. That was one
of the funnest drives because educate me.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Which is the why? The suv? Yeah, okay, it's a
little bigger one.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
I like had like the golden wing door. That's not
the why.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
That's the X. That's the that's the luxury suv. So
I'm the three and the y are like the But
this is like this is like six series the Peasant models.
The Peasants and the X are the top models. And
did you know it's like the S three, X and
Y sexy. Oh my god, that doesn't that He couldn't

(23:11):
do that. He couldn't do it in the world. He
couldn't do a model He could do a Model E
because of because of Ford mack E. So he had
to do a Model three.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Oh look, there is a really big part of me,
like I love it, but I don't a thousand of
Like if I was that powerful and had that much money,
everything I do, everything I did would just be a
giant bit like that as well as well, you've got what.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Do you have to lose sexy? It's like Corvette guy
with Vandy plates and stuff like, oh one thousand.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
But it's even worse because it's like it's like fourteen
year old four Chan posters.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Yeah, oh yeah, humor and he loves it. But yeah,
I test drove a Model three, or I should say
it took me for a ride because I used the
full self driving for most of the time.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Drive.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Okay, so granted, oh I would that's certainly not this,
I mean might be the that might be the city
in Texas, I would least like the.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Amount of san you can drive here, it can drive anywhere.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, I agree with that.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
I guess maybe the construction, but like traffic wise.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Oh no, not I'm talking not traffic or construction, just
the uh erratic nature of how people drive here versus
this is worse, worse.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
You know why?

Speaker 2 (24:38):
You know why Dallas and Houston aren't worse because everyone
there is going at least eighty five.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Well that's a positive. But they don't use blinkers, which
I'm not a very proponent on I think should be.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
That's the other thing. The Model three they remove the
turn signal stock. It's buttons now on the steering wheel.
That's so awful. It's yeah, that's awful.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
I think I might turn the volume up.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Yeah, well just imagine if your steering wills turned just
a little bit. You're trying to find the signal. If
it's not like, you know, straight up, straight up, it'll
be up or down. It's like it's it was weird.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
So you left, you did the the It drove you.
I guess you were at the deal.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
It drove me from the Tesla dealership at the airport
all the way to the Witty Museum and then to
the quarry. From there, drove the rest of the way.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Were there any moments where you felt like you had
to take over?

Speaker 1 (25:33):
It tried to go straight in a left only, and
so I took over because there was nowhere straight to go, okay,
like the there was two lanes and the left lane
turned into a left only, and it just thought it
could go straight.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
Well, it thought it was just driving insane audio.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
You can just take over immediately though, so they call
it full self driving supervised, so you have to take
over every now and then.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
But that was the only feel the legal purposes, Like
we told you you have to supervise.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Yeah, super was like by like ripping out the guts
of that brain.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
I'd say it's definitely the best. It's the best system
out there right now today that of any manufacturer for
self driving features or driving is.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
China doing one.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
But we don't have that here. We have stupid loss
that day that make it. We can't have it here.
BYD Yeah, BYD is like blowing up in Europe, not here.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I just learned how Apple created basically the whole tech
boom in China by investing fifty billion a year for
twenty five years, cheap labor. But they invested in infrastructure,
they invested in training them, they do everything. And then
and then when they then they were so self relying

(26:45):
on Apple like none of the competitors like they had.
They basically Apple said, you have to make a competitor
because we can't keep all these people on because now
we have robots to do all this stuff. And China
was about to go into depression, so therefore go like
we go or whatever. All those different ones started coming out.
There's a book on it, man, I saw it on

(27:06):
the Daily Show. It's pretty Oh.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Actually, I know exactly what you're talking about. I saw
that interview too. Now that you say that I do
no nerd out there, buddy, I love good I love
a good nerd out Yeah, our I'm dead serious, Like
I have no I eat Chick fil A because the
chicken tastes good. I don't care about the good. I'm

(27:28):
very we're very seriously. Yeah, I'm looking at striking while
the market is the only.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Thing that the only thing with Tesla, man is with
the energy cars is I got a heavy foot. And yeah,
that's my guy who owned the Model X drove all
the way to Houston. We almost made it all the
way there on like one full charge, so that's almost
like three hours during like little rush hour traffic. Well,

(27:56):
they were all hungover and I got some sleep because
they went out at night and I was like, nah,
I'm and it was the Yankees in Houston and we
lost and I was powdering. So I went to the
hotel room. So I got to drive back. I killed
that full battery in about an hour.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Just from your style of driving, just and like literally
I like woke him up and I was like, yeah,
we have to recharge. He's like, how the hell did you?
He's like, how fast are you driving? I was like
sixty to ninety and half a second. Yes, it's not
how fast I was driving, it's how fast I got there.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
I was accelerated. That's the only one that kills me
because I accelerate pretty pretty fast.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
You probably shouldn't behind any EV then.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Yeah, I feel like the infrastructure is still like that's
that's my biggest hold up.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
As we look.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
I mean, we have a Tesla charging station right in
our neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
I feel like we're it's set up pretty well. Now,
Texas is a race along the main corridors.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Those charges everywhere actually tends ye four and fourteen down.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
There's chargers hidden places you wouldn't even expect, Like there's
a bunch of chargers in the quarry, like just in
randomly in the parking lot.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, every time I see one, it shoots my wheels
off because at first I kind of forget what it
actually is, like even the one in our neighborhood when
I drive by it, because it looks like it's like
the remnants of a shutdown car wash, you know, like
you know, yeah, it looks like a bunch of exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
You know where mellow Mushroom is right before you go
to the Oh yeah, there's a charging station right behind there.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Toro.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Oh yeah, we need to we need to do the greatness.
I love how all you know a restaurant's good when
all of us just hear the name and they're like.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Oh, yes, need some Well let's get to some sports.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah it was again, you know, I said, it's kind
of we're kind of now in wait and uh, you know,
wait for the finals in both NHL and NBA. But
we'll start with the stars. The highlight of the stars
from this weekend unfortunately. Well, and you remember that was Yeah,

(30:10):
that was that was Wednesday. That was last Wednesday, right
when we were so distracted. Yeah, if you want to
hear the most distracted episode we've done yet last Wednesday,
when the Stars opened the series against the Oilers and
had the massive third period come back, that that's been
if you're a Stars fan, that's the only moment of
joy so far, outside of the fact that my buddy

(30:34):
Truman stopped by. He was right because of the holiday.
He was driving down to the beach from Dallas. Uh,
and he stopped Friday night and watched the game. And
I think he he's the kind of sports fan I
think you're the same way in a lot of ways.
It drives me crazy, uh, because he's the Okay, we
didn't score a goal of that period. I'm sitting somewhere

(30:56):
else in the room for the second period. It's like,
I've got I've got two jerseys. I need one of
y'all to throw a jersey on. It's like, dude, this
is your this is your girlfriend's jersey. Like it won't
fit over, Like it's not so no, no, it's superstition.
You just got to just throw it somewhere on your boxy,
So I'm like wearing it around by the amulet. It's
exactly what.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
It's exactly what. Big I just got hats. I got
that throwing a different hat, you know what I'm saying, teams.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
That doesn't affect her, and a guy bouncing around like
he's an epileptic and living or not that bad now.
So got to see Truman. I guess that's the only
other highlight of this series.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
So Edbton kind of like after that comeback and then
they sat there and tried to fight all the team
right after at the end of the buzzer, they kind
of let him know, Hey, that's the only one you're
gonna get it.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
It feels like you are absolutely right. I mean, the
the demoralizing thing about it. You mentioned, you know last Wednesday,
the crazy third period comeback. Since then, the Stars have
scored three goals. Yeah, they're expected goals over that period

(32:12):
of time is twelve, so they're out. Like if you
look at a lot of the metrics, even the game
the other night that finished what six to one or something,
when they just got the doors blown off of them,
the expected goals favored the Stars. They got beat six
to one. Now, granted you give up two of those
empty nets, I mean really for one, but the expected

(32:34):
goals were in favor of the Stars, and you're sitting
there feeling like you just have no chance in this series.
I mentioned the three goals they've scored, the difference, you know,
Skinner basically making up for nine goals where they expected
goal analytics would say they should have twelve. Yeah, that's

(32:54):
the series right there. I mean, and it's not just Skinner.
I mean, Skinner's been great for them, and they have
a lot of shots on goal during the third and yeah,
most recently last night, you know, I think they only
ended up with three four shots on goal in the
third when you need bullied and just time of possession
is just all Edmonton. It's a couple things. It It

(33:15):
give me some stats, well from a Star's perspective, And
I think this is where you know, we've had some
of these conversations before. You know, this is these two
teams played each other at this point in the playoffs
last year in the conference finals, Edmonton won, went on
to lose the Stanley Cup finals. So Edmonton is not

(33:38):
really you know, they want to get past Dallas to
get to Florida to get back to the Stanley Cup
because their unfinished business isn't with Dallas, it's with Florida.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
So is that a rematch?

Speaker 2 (33:49):
It it potentially will be. It would be the first.
It would be the first Stanley Cup Finals rematch since.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Sweep or did the gentlemen's sweep.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Well last year? Don I mean like it's three to
one right now.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
I don't think. I don't know what the name Carolina
was gonna.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
I don't think Carolina thought they were gonna get one
either the way that started. No, it would be the
first rematch since like eighth nine when it was like
Penguin's Red Wings. I think it would be the first
Stanley Cup Final rematch. It's been a while. Yeah, Hockey's
Hockey's wild ass.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
When it comes to that's that's amazing what.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Two teams are actually left standing. But from you know,
Edmonton's perspective, they're trying to get their unfinished business in
the Stanley Cup Finals. So Stars are trying to get
their unfinished business this round. So the expectations are already
Obviously Star's expectation is to try is to win a cup,
but they have got to get over the Boogeyman, that

(34:46):
is the best player in the world. Connor Mcjesus, Jesus. Look,
very rarely does someone get a nickname involving our Lord
and Savior and actually deserve it. Yeah, Connor McDavid is
probably going to go down as the second best hockey
player ever.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
Really, so it's not exaggeration.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
I think that if you were really if you were
doing any kind I mean, like Bobby Orr was a defenseman,
so it's really hard to compare. But you're just talking forwards.
I think the list is Gretzky obviously number one. Mario
Lemieue is probably everyone's go to. Number two is not
even over the mule. Well is just such a it's

(35:33):
just such a sniper. Yeah, yeah, yeah, He's way more
of a one dimensional player than Gretzky or Lamu and
Lemieux and Gretzky are setting everybody else up while they
still score the most amount of goals on UH in
the league. But I there is I don't think he's
ever going to catch Gretzky. Just Gretzky is Gretzky. We've
we talked about the insanity of his stats. When we

(35:53):
were talking about twenty one years right. But I think
there's if I think there is a mineral consensus among
hockey fans that if he just keeps up, he's twenty
eight right now, David is, he's at his athletic trimes.
I think he's gonna split that Lemieux Gretzky probably slot

(36:14):
in as the second best player. One of the stats
I saw in the games earlier, so in the NHL
playoffs this year, there have been thirty one instances where
a guy went from you know, skating to a burst
of speed up to over twenty two miles per hour.
It's happened thirteen times in the playoffs where they go

(36:36):
from stand still like a sprint to like a sprint
right now, thirty one times of any team in the league.
McDavid has eighteen of those. The other thirteen are a
combination of players that have done it. McDavid has eighteen. Like,
he's just he's the fastest skater, he's the best passer,

(36:57):
he's the best stick candler. He's just it's one of
those it's a it's a video game created avatar, and
it doesn't look like.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
He's the ones in there bouncing the pug like doing
all the tricks and is mighty duck in it.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
He's the he's the team captain book, he's the captain
for team Finland. Might yeah, well our fighting fins, uh,
you know. And that's the other thing, you know, Rope
the the the slash on his foot that probably broke
something that he's playing through. Now, you know it's you

(37:36):
lose the Stars, lose their best two way player for
a game. And now he played last night, but he's
clearly still banged up. You know that the Stars all
season long, their depth has been the reason they were
so good. Well, now all of a sudden, no one
can score outside of the first line or the fourth line.

(37:59):
So of that depth is showing up. And quite frankly, Otter.
It's not that Otter has been bad, it's just that
Skinner's been better, uh, in goal between the neutralizing them. Yeah, yeah,
I mean it again, We've talked about it before. You know,
in in the NBA, when a team is down three
to one, they have a four percent chance of winning.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
In hockey, I thought you said it was like a
ten percent. NBA, it's four. It's like, yeah, four and
a half percent. Actually, I think it's three and a
half percent two of them right, and very low percentage hockey,
it's a ten eleven percent chance. So basically, think about
I heard this explained earlier.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
I thought you said it was like a forty Wait, manute,
is it down? Like two? Was up? Am I thinking? Oh? Two?

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Or I think you were thinking of the when we
were talking about Yeah, if you go down in the
early series, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
That was three one.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
It's it's the same stat It's just.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
I thought hockey had a bunch of a lot of
higher percentage of it, because.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
Like maybe it's maybe it's just in the when it
was first round versus conference finals. Maybe, But the way
I heard it explain championship, you know, the Stars have
to win three games in a row. Yeah, they're down
three to one. The odds of winning that are basically
the same as if we had a coin right now
and we flipped a coin three times and you accurately

(39:23):
called it three times in a row, because it would
be you got a fifty percent chance, then you got
a twenty five percent chance, then you got a twelve
and a half percent chance. So exactly that's where the
Stars find themselves. At least there's more math.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
More.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
I love yeah, this is a really nerdy, podular nerdy
episode so far tonight. No, the uh, you know, they
have a better chance than either the Knicks or t Wolves.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
I don't have to say your stars are out.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
It feels like it.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Florida's looking ridiculously good, Edmonton looking good. Yeah, and they're
both looking good coming in and you're telling me it's
a rem It seems like this would be the best
product for NHL right now.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's you know, no, no, I
mean we're gonna talk about it here when we turn
to the NBA. You know, the the NHL is such
a different beast when it comes to marketing because like,
the equivalent of Edmonton being in the Stanley Cup Finals

(40:25):
is the equivalent of Oklahoma City being in the finals.
But because Edmonton has the best hockey player on Earth,
and because it's Canada where the game was invented, and
it's you know, I.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Love that Canada American rivalry. Right now, they played what
was My Peace?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
It makes it even better if it's potentially the whole
of mar A Lago Florida Ice Cats, My guy, it
wouldn't surprise me. If it wouldn't surprise me, if if
forty seven himself went to one of the games, that
would be hilarious. Yes, the great ice Cat.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
That's definitely news filed.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Okay, before we jump into more specific NBA recap, you
you've mentioned it, the Star. I mean, the Stars look dead,
they look done, Carolina looks done with with you know,
Florida moving on out of the four, you know, the

(41:24):
two in hockey, and then Knicks Pacers, And I think
I can already we can already scratch off thunder Tea
Wolves because as we sit, here's a score fifty nine
to twenty seven. It's over. So that series is over
or you're not going to see I don't think we're
going to see a thirty point.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
Stef on Diggs and I'll let y'all know the little bit.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Yeah, we got some stuff on Diggs. So really, this
one's over. I think the Knicks, if you, if you
pushed me to say, what team still has the best
chance to come and win the series.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
And you know why, this this is what happened. After
we left. We were so geeked on the Stars and
I'm sitting there walk catching the scores and I see
the greatest game obviously one of the greatest games ever
in playoff history against two rival teams that I look

(42:25):
at it and it's two minutes and they're up by fourteen,
and I'm like, you know, let's see what happens. And
then I look at it again and there it's twenty
five seconds and they're up by eight. I called it.
I was like, we were sitting on the couch and
I said, this game is over, you know, blah blah blah,
and we end up talking you know, post podcast interview

(42:46):
like podcast talk and everything. And I sit there and
start listen to AM radio and they're talking about like, oh,
I can't believe that gave up and blah blah blah.
And then I can't understand him. I'm like, are they
talking about another game? And I finally look at my
phone and the most unbelievable shot that I missed live

(43:08):
happened with halliburnon banking like not even banking, but back ironing.
It should have been a three, should have been a
game winner, up nine feet past the shot clock into
it to tie the game. Does the old Reggie Miller
choke that was so great? It was so I mean,
I rewatched that game like like like I'll rewatched that

(43:29):
game a thousand times, but I rewatched it like five times,
and I have a picture. I should have gave it
to LG. But Jalen Brunson just defeated on the sideline.
So if they actually won that game, they'd be two
to two right now.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Yeah, I think the one trade off I would say though,
is the one win they do have was also miraculous
by them. I mean it was a what twenty four
point comeback? Oh yeah, to get the one win that like,
the Pacers should have won that game. The Pacers should
have probably lost Game one.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
They should have lost like three games when they that
they won this year, And.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
That's where that's where it doesn't really feel like this
is one of those years where I'm not necessarily it
doesn't feel controversial to say that the best team in
the East is not going to be the representative in
the final.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
I mean, it depends the Pacers are all clicking. So
here's the staff for you before to before then, teams
that trail by nine plus points in the final minute
of the fourth quarter out of a playoff game where
zero in one thy four hundred and fourteen, that's insane.
So in that since nineteen ninety eight, very low percent,

(44:48):
because we know Michael Jordan probably had something to say
about that one. Or was that probably the Reggie Miller
one where he stole the ball.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
I don't know why they stopped in ninety eight.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Because because it must have happened. Yeah, but I would
like to know that's that. But like that's in Like
that's when I looked at it with eight or twenty
five seconds left and they're up by eight. I was like,
game over, game over, And like the only thing I've
seen close to it was old Tracy McGrady and the
Spurs where Devin Brown, Devin Brown should fell over hold

(45:23):
the ball, Devin hold the ball, but of course epic comeback.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Yeah, I mean it. It's I'm in a tough position
because I'm I am absolutely the guy that says you
play the games to determine who the better team is. Yeah,
But at the same time, when when Netsmith is making
eight straight threes like he's never done in his career,

(45:52):
like it also can be a combination of guys absolutely
having career runs at the same time that another team
like the Knicks, are underperforming. Nesmith is all of a
sudden the best sharpshooter in the playoffs, and Haliburton is
doing Reggie Miller stuff.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
He's taking your overrated and shoving it right up. Yo.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
I'm telling you know that that survey only gets those
results only get worse and worse as he continues to
do the.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
Things that happened. We just had Oklahoma State when the
men's National NCA Golf Championship.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Is that what you were watching?

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Watching Oklahoma State match play golf? I watched it last night. Oh,
they had ton It was one of the most epic,
Like it was just it was like me and my
buddy's playing golf, but they were gonna hit for hit
and we just beat Virginia four to one on match play.
And we have now had I believe we are the

(46:55):
second most entitles. Like did you know Oklahoma State is
a is one of the premiere golfing.

Speaker 2 (47:04):
The only reason I knew that is because Ricky Fowler.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Ricky Fowler hovelin right like they have they put out
They put out quality stuff.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Man, the Big twelve has The Big Twelve has great.
I mean Tech has even had a good run lately
in golf. They've produced a couple PGA Tour Texas always
has got Texas has always Texas.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
But and then another quick golf thing since we're on it.
We had Charles Swab this thing, Ben Griffin.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
It's the colonial, the colonial whatever. We don't honor sponsors
unless they honor us.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
Ben Griffin, Quick golf. He and decided to come back
and play the corn Ferry Tour, which is like the miners.
Came back up in two in twenty twenty one, finally
got his card again, got on and had his first
win ever.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
That's why he had won.

Speaker 3 (47:59):
He was gonna be a mortgage broker. He had won the.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
Pairing with New Orleans when they had when they play
the pairings, the groupings, Yeah, the match play, Yeah, him
and uh what was it Norland? I think was his
partner on that. But yeah, his first solo win on
the tour. Always love it golf is one of those
like as much as we focus.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
On go Cowboys, the only time you're gonna hear me
say that, there you go.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
As much as we focus on, you know, the top
ten golfers in the world, Uh, there's a great account
out there called Monday Morning. Uh Qualifiers and the story
some of the stories of these guys that grind on
the corn Ferry tour.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
And then you know, just getting your PGA tour card.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
You gotta pay. You gotta pay to play, right, so
you gotta pay.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
For your and then and then perform, yeah, to get promoted.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
And then it's like you gotta pay your own meals.
And this is why people went to live and this
is what liv was doing. There was going to be
a PGA strike because they're like, hey, if we don't
make the cut, we don't make any money, you know,
and we got to go to these nice hotels like
look down here, we got TPC Valero, you know over

(49:13):
there at TPC And that's no cheap hotel.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Oh god, no, it's a resort.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
It's a very beautiful course.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
Man.

Speaker 3 (49:21):
And imagine having to shell out a couple of thousands
and you missed the cut and then you're just like
on to the next one, you know.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
That much less the travel onto the next one and
all just all of it that comes along. Yeah, I mean,
I'm I love it when the upper crust of the
talent pool blows everybody else away. But once or twice
a year, when you see a random guy, you see
the underdog, you need to see the underdog. There's and

(49:52):
I mentioned, you know that was colonial up in Fort
Worth this past weekend. I have fond memories of going
to that term with my pops growing up there in
South Fort Worth. The uh god, you're watching college golf.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
That is that is true. That is true, sicko stuff
right there.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
The uh and you watch hockey.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
I don't watch college talk. Well, actually, I take that back,
I did.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
I did.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
I watched the Frozen four. At least I watched it
with someone who went to Western Michigan. I was.

Speaker 3 (50:26):
I Me and my dad had been talking for the
past two days about.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
This while you're wearing orange too, am I just put
put piecing all of this together now? Maybe okay, okay,
yeah maybe maybe see it worked back on the basketball
real quick before we talked Spurs in the main segment.
Uh the you know last night that Pacers uh performance

(50:50):
absolutely gaining back control of the series after blowing that
game in Game three. You mentioned Halliburton putting to bed
the over rat u thirty two points, fifteen assists, twelve boards,
and most importantly zero turnovers zeros while his dad was
allowed back in the building too.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
They did allow him back.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Yeah, he was up in a suite after him and
Jannis had the altercation and in the first round.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
I was I was seeing like this was his first
games out, like let him back in, give him a
second chance, and yeah, keep his ass up in a suite, man.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
Yeah, I think you're probably well. If Halliburton does that
every game, he could think the Pacers will probably pay
for the suite and the garden too. By that, before
we get to your little spurs talking the main segment,
I did still want to hit on some baseball because
I know you'll have a Yankees minute for us. But

(51:47):
before that, LG, you got that Rangers audio. This is
the further I get away from that Rangers World Series
win two years ago. I'm starting to realize more and
more how much of an anomaly that World Series probably was.
That was, you know, the amount of guys that had

(52:13):
career all had, like Jonah High, Adoley's the heart of
that lineup having career years versus where they're at now.
Uh no, no, no, no, long gone. The the big
money signings of Simmy you know, Seeger hitting the walk
off home run, you know, Simeon hitting the series clinching

(52:37):
home run in the final game.

Speaker 3 (52:40):
The fact that they did it back to back years too.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Well, now we're at the point where World Series heroes
have been dropped so far in the lineup that they
don't even remember where they're at in the lineup.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
You have this LG.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
Marcus's iron man ability on the diamond, and.

Speaker 3 (53:01):
When you look at the fact that he's played the second.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
Most games of anyone over the last two seasons, for
he that right there a timely report.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
You can take him to lunch. That's where we're at.

Speaker 3 (53:30):
To give me my minutes. Hold on, hold on, hold on,
I really want you want to you want to delay this.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, because I'm gonna we're not getting into Yankees talk
that quick. Simeon has gone from hitting leadoff to batting
ninth and can't even remember who is in front of
him when he should be on deck.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
Like it's so he started the season leadoff. He's been the.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
Leadoff hitter since he signed it two years ago. Oh
it's barely I mean, it's it's I think it's yeah,
it's it's it is so bad. And the reason, like, granted,
I've lived with a lot of bad baseball in my life. Yeah,
the Rangers majority of my lifetime have been absolutely the

(54:20):
pitching is amazing. No, and that's the anomaly of it.
All of a sudden we have the best pitching we've
possibly ever had in my lifetime. Uh well, and Nuvaldi
got hurt yesterday too, left the start earlier. But the
thing that drives me most insane about all of this
is I'm staring at conference finals that are three to one.

(54:40):
I'm staring at the NBA finals and Stanley Cup finals
being over in the next two weeks, three weeks, and
I have a summer of this. I have a summer
of watching guys forget they're on deck ahead of me.

Speaker 3 (54:57):
That reminds me of the World Series that I can't
remember last year. And then all of a sudden, all
my niners going down, and I'm just like, I have
a winter of this. Yeah, it's a sad of this.

Speaker 2 (55:11):
Yeah. And as you mentioned, yes, it kind of all
went tits up after they got swept in the Bronx
put a minute on the clock.

Speaker 3 (55:23):
And we have we have Rodin throwing a flawless seven
innings all man just ten strikeouts yesterday. We have won
eight series in a row, eight series while sweeping the Rangers.
We are on the Angels, which are actually doing tremendous
and we're not doing it by crushing the ball, like

(55:44):
unless you're like the Athletics or something, or we go
put a twelve spot on you. But we did lose.
We gave Colorado their ninth victory. That is a shameful thing.
But we're using it for bait. We're using it for
a warrior chant to get to this weekend series, which
is the rematch. It's in l A and we're going

(56:06):
We're coming for you, old tany. I hope you pitch.
I hope you pitch, and we're gonna have Aaron Judge
hit another one off you man's not another one right?
Na here a couple, Hey, this is mine, this is
my minute now. Cody Bellinger was under two hundred. Now
he's back almost up to three hundred. Hitening beautiful game.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
You mentioned the Rockies nine wins, so they're on pace
to lose to win thirty games. It would obviously the
White Sox set the record last year. It would be
back to back years of that record. Setting off the
top of your head, the Rockies have nine wins. Do
you know who the next lowest total is mmm.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
I would have to say either Pittsburgh Athletics or.

Speaker 2 (56:57):
Maybe Orioles close or Rules or second. Orioles have nineteen wins.
It's the team that just took two out of three
from the Rangers. The eighteen win Chicago White set the
record last year. I set you up there. No, it's
in the The Rocky situation is like, it's beyond laughable.

(57:22):
Do you know how hard it is to lose one
hundred and thirty baseball games in a in a season?

Speaker 3 (57:30):
I mean in the little league team I used to
coach with my kid, Yeah, I can see it.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
But how many how many teams triple A? How many
teams Triple A organizations would beat the Rockies right now?

Speaker 3 (57:44):
Ten?

Speaker 2 (57:45):
I mean that's probably hyperbolics.

Speaker 3 (57:48):
There's some Dominican teams that can be yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
Yeah, give me the Cuban League. They would smoke the.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
The Rockies got up and threw a dime on us
on our first game and beat us in Aaron Judge
is still cracking home runs. Put another one on the board.
He's almost hit a home run in every statem I saw.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
He wasn't first to twenty though. Yeah, do you see
Oani and Suzuki uh Is the first to fifty RBIs. Yeah,
pretty uh pretty impressive.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
NL is weaker than AL.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
I'm just saying, yeah, well the al Seri, we might
we'll do a little baseball talking because we might actually.

Speaker 3 (58:29):
I mean, well, like who who does what the league
does Colorado play for? That would be you know, you
know what league does the you know, Pittsburgh play for.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
I mean there's only one other team in your division
that's over five hundred. Yeah, that's not it's not like, yeah,
it's not like, let's let's be honest here.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
Right, Yeah, is a great, great baseball player.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
We might need to start talking taking the Tigers a
little more serious.

Speaker 3 (58:58):
Dude. They are winning. They keep winning.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
I'm looking seventeen games over five hundred now with the
best picture in y.

Speaker 3 (59:05):
You know who's the hottest team right now is Philly.
Philly is the hottest team. While Bryce Harper, he got
banged up a little bit, hit on the elbow and
they still won a game. They're nine and one in
their past ten games. I don't know what they did today.

Speaker 2 (59:18):
Hell, you could say the same about the Mets. I mean,
right behind the Phillies. It so doing anything.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
They took two out of three from l A this
this this past week. So Soto, it is comical seeing
the Race are killing them. They are killing them now,
you know, you know that one loss. I was like,
this is the one.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
I think they got one on the Rangers too. I
don't think the Rangers swept them. They had them last week.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
No, you know, it was Soto's family that convinced him
of the Mets. He wanted the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Was that what John boy is telling you?

Speaker 3 (59:55):
I heard it from what was it? I don't know
if it was Paul O'Neill or the other announcer from
what you call it, but you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Can trust everything. Paul O'Neil says.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Sweet Paul o' neil, I want two home runs? Sort
is it one home run?

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Still? Still a great episode? Holds up?

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
I uh.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
I saw this for the Astros fans out there, because
I know y'all live amongst us here. Over the last
one hundred and sixty two games, who would you who
would you think has a better record? Astros or Yankees
last one sixty two? Oh? I would say Yankees immediately,
would say Yankees, Right, Astros have three more wins. It's
like League, Man, what are you talking about right now?

(01:00:38):
There's well not the least last division athletic standings are Angels.
You're you're good this year, you're just talking about last year.
Are better than we're talking about last year, the bottom
dweller of the AL East. Yeah, no, going back to
last year of course for the one sixty two. I
saw that though, and it kind of shot my wheels

(01:00:59):
off the point where I actually had to fact check,
verify it, yeah, and look it up because I didn't
believe it. And the Astros aren't going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
And I think that had the Astros.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Like the game or game behind the America.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Because then they change it up. They changed it up
to where everybody plays everybody two years ago. Is because
the Astros are getting one hundred and fifteen wins every
season because the Rangers were horrible, The Athletics were horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
There's some punching bags.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
The Angels were horrible, like everybody was this garbage, and
then like they just stack them up in their division.
While Yankees had to play the Red Sox, which are
brutal games, didn't have to go play Tampa Bay.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
The Rays are the ones that always yeah, been the
scary one if I was a Yankees fan and then.

Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Oriols were they should be better. They fired their coach.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
The Orioles are such an embarrassment this year, and I
secretly the Orioles are one of those teams like Brooks
Robinson is my favorite baseball player of ault, like as
a kid watching fielding YouTube, you know, watching highlights and
anytime they would have a you know before YouTube as
a little kid, when they would have you know, the
special like ESPN Classic.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
Would have all.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
You know, I was a sucker for or Ken Burns
Baseball documentary, Like always always loved uh Brooks and the Orioles.
It's just and it felt like two years ago it
felt like they were.

Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
We need a third baseman Gunner Henderson. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
I was about to say, just move over to third
base like a Rod did. And you know, yeah, those
Orioles fans would lose their Now, that'd be a Lucas
style trade, man, that wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
It still wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
To even call that trade a Lucas style trade is
disrespectful to how bad the Luca trade exactly, because that
Luca trade would be like Sodo going from Washington to
San Diego. Yeah, Yeah, that could you imagine if all
out of nowhere the Lakers or the Dodgers traded O

(01:03:00):
t I mean, it's not happening, but that's what we
said about Luca. Yeah, all right, let's move on. We'll
talk a little spurs here in the main segment before
we get to the lightning round. Mainly, you know, thinking
as we start to wind down these uh NBA Conference Finals,
and obviously I'm about tired, and I know I've played

(01:03:23):
a little bit of a part in this, the the
over uh the hyper focus on the fact that we're
about to have Oklahoma City in Indianapolis as the two
finals cities like I know, it would have been awesome
to see the Garden rocking for an NBA finals, but
you can't argue with what Indiana is doing to get there.

(01:03:45):
And if you watched the two games in Indiana, it's
a pretty fun atmosphere. If you watched Oklahoma City, that's
that gets vacation bibles common.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
But they love their basketball, you know the common thread
right now, both best defenses in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Yeah, that's huge. Well, and that's you know, looking at
the parallels with this Indiana team and the twenty eleven
MAVs championship team when Carlisle was the coach. You know,
the the offense. You look at the roster of Indiana
and you don't question where the offense is gonna come from,

(01:04:21):
but you also look at it and you say they
should be better than they've been defensively the last couple
of years. When you you make the trade for Sea Aukam,
you have Myles Turner, a mobile shot blocking big man.
You've got athletic wings, You've got three and D guys,
and then Haliburton is your liability. But at least he
competes and you know then, and he's getting better. He's

(01:04:43):
getting better for sure, But it takes time to know
where people are gonna be. Like if I'm gonna get
off this pick and roll, are you gonna transfer me
or my thousand and I think that's where know like
that just takes time to go. Like the way the
way Carlisle in twenty eleven cobbled a a respectable defense
around the liability that was Dirk, it feels very much

(01:05:06):
like what Carlisle is doing now with Halliburton, where he's
like he's convinced these guys, look, if you will just
play better defense, it will make all the difference. And
it feels like that's it's They're not defensive juggernaut by
any means, but they're doing just enough.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
The Knicks are damn good defensive team too. That's how
they got there too. They're defense. But it just seems
like cat Karl Anthony Towns is just becoming a little
bit of a wild card. You know, he only got
twenty three minutes in that third game, which was insane
to me. And I don't know what's going on between.

(01:05:45):
I saw some arguing in game two on the bench
with him and somebody else. They're not they're not. The
chemistry's not there like it is in Indiana, and it
shows on the court.

Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
Yeah, I think that's I mean, that's a lot of
a lot of force.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
It's a lot of you know, trying to steal the
ball and trying to like, you know, take that chance.
You know, but you leave that man wide open and
someone's got to switch over to him, and you leave
that person open on the corner and then knocking down three.
Siakam is killing him on the threes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
He's and you mentioned, you know, the the This is
the Knick's first playoff run with Kat This is the
first year they've had him as part of this group.
UH and Siakam second year now in Indiana, and the
difference in having that one run previously as a group,
I think is a you could argue is a lot

(01:06:37):
of what's showing there and you know, I I think
you're your point on the defense is uh really interesting
when you think about it from a Spurs perspective, because obviously,
as they are building this foundation of what the team

(01:06:59):
is gonna look like for the decade, we feel extremely confident.
Number two pick is Dylan Harper, and he's not going anywhere,
So you're starting to think about what liabilities you have
on this roster now in terms of team building, And
of course the one everyone immediately turns to is so

(01:07:20):
Hand and you think about, well, we've got, you know,
a so Hand twenty two, Wemby twenty one, Castle twenty,
Dylan Harper nineteen. You know, those guys are all on
the same timeline contractually and age wise. But everyone is
so quick to try to move on from so Hand,
And I think there's a assuming energy and assuming he develops,

(01:07:46):
it doesn't need to be massive strides developed offensively, But
I think he's a guy that when you're looking at
these teams and what's succeeding, Like.

Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Lou's going to get that Dort.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
All Lou Dort does is shoot threes and play great defense. Yeah,
so Han's individual defense is his most valuable trait. Uh,
you know, net Smith is more of an offensive threat,
but he's still playing good d for Indiana. But I
just think we're so quick to when it comes to

(01:08:21):
thinking about team building, We're so quick to devalue the
defensive side of someone's game. If you know, we're we're
valuing someone that averages eighteen points a game more than
a guy that averages only twelve points a game but
is a way better defender than the eighteen point I
would rather have the twelve point a game and elite

(01:08:42):
defender than a guy getting eighteen points in the NBA
is not hard to find. Look at Jordan Poole, like
we've seen those guys chuck shots. Like I still think
as we think about what this future roster construction with
the Spurs is going to look like, So hand is
the most and arguably most important piece moving forward.

Speaker 3 (01:09:03):
Because I think he's a good sixth seventh player. Like
because if someone gets in foul trouble, one of our
big names, he can come in and just d up.
And we got enough people that can sit there and
put the ball on the floor, spot up and shoot.
And he if he works on his spot up and
shoot like Bruce Bowen did, know.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
I think that's a great that's a great comp of
what he should be trying to get developed towards.

Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
And that's then he It's just I wish he had
that height to go on the number five position. But
he's a great sixth seventh man off the bench. See.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
And that's where the interesting thing is because at that point,
if he's your if he's a seventh guy coming off
the bench, you're still hunting that starting big man to
pair next to Wimby.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
And that's where I.

Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
Want to that's where we gotta have your knowledge from
college basketball. We gotta we can find him with what
the twelfth.

Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
Pick or we have the fourteenth, fourteenth, fourteenth, we.

Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
Can trade a bunch of ones or something, go up
one or two, you know, picks to go get one
of these big men to be our fifth.

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
So and this is where why so you're judging by
that suggestion, you feel like so Han is not.

Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
Potentially, I don't think he's a starter. I think he's
a bench player, and I think you need that energy
off the bench. Yeah, you know, when you come in
with that squad, he's gonna give you that energy. He's
gonna sit there out work the other team's second team basically,
like how do you outwork their second team? You know,

(01:10:40):
and then you can put them on one of the
all stars that they want to do with, like the
second team, but hey, we want to keep or we
need that person pestering Kevin Durant.

Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
And that's so I think so Han's primary defender rating
is leads me to still believe he can be the
starting four man for this thing once. That's if everyone
was in their prime right, And that's I think that's
where we get a little got a little muscle. We're

(01:11:13):
starting to show some of the same signs like Ni
from year you know, rookie year versus year three, and
again he's like, just remember what you felt like at
eighteen versus twenty one. Don't like when I was twenty
one and would go back and play pick up against
all the high school kids in my hometown, I felt

(01:11:34):
like a grown ass man. Like I felt like a
god compared just from the natural. I wasn't working out,
I wasn't lifting weights. I just grew up.

Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
No, I hit puberty way early, so I was like
that as you were already. I was six foot five
and like my muscle definition was coming in when I
was like a sophomore. No, you already, little beard. And
then I'm like I did boxing for a little bit,
and then all of a sudden after that, its just
the punch town hit me with the fat Lawrence.

Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
The reason I bring up so hand is because Timeline,
like contracts and age wise, he is the natural fit
with the guy with the castles, the Harper and Wimby,
and the fact.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
That they they're used to each other, they got chemistry already,
Like I think we keep everybody, and.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
So just add this is where this is where the
kind of the three identifiable paths start to show themselves
to me, because I think the first path would have
been pushing all your chips in trade for Gianni's whatever
that would take, so they clearly doesn't feel like they're
doing that. Second path would be go pure patience, keep

(01:12:54):
the second pick, keep the fourteenth pick. Maybe you know,
maybe even like you were saying, package the four thirteenth
to move up a little bit. But again with the
idea that you're adding con Can Nipple, with the idea
that you're adding another young guy that you're going to
be patient with and let develop as a part.

Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
Of the core, or because we don't need him to score.
We need him to sit there and put a body
on down down low, and we need him to rebound.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
But you know, usually need you know what, Usually those
guys that you're describing, those are the slowest developing NBA
players of any of any position, like the seven footer
or the big man.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Who's what you told me, this is the deepest draft.
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
But that's what I don't say. That's not I don't
say that in terms of it's impossible to find. I
say that more in terms of the patience part of
that plan. The big man is the most to be
the most patient on one thousand percent, Like you're talking
about a big man that if you draft, say let's
get a couple of them, say you move up again,
It's the timeline is still the same.

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
Those guys are Steve Pobbins contract up.

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
Yeah, I mean he's old. I mean he would be okay,
So there you go. So hold on the second plan
being that patient where you're drafting another nineteen year old
kid and you're knowing he's not really going to be
who he's going to be for another three to five years,
just natural development arc or the third path which I

(01:14:31):
think this is kind of a sneaky stat How old
do you? How old is Dearn Fox right now?

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
Twenty seven?

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Twenty seven on the nose? He turns twenty eight in December,
So so hand twenty two, Wemby twenty one, Harper Castle
both teenagers. Now you've got Fox who's twenty eight, kind
of eventually the odd man out of that draft and

(01:15:01):
developed core that we're now talking about this pathway.

Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
Well, so what de Aaron Fox is going to be
the odd man out in four We're gonna give him
a four or five year contract, right.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
And that's where I so in thinking about. So if
you're you're obviously you're not doing anything with Fox, You're
keeping Fox. He's a part of this thing for the next,
like you said, four or five years. So finding that
middle ground between the two strategies instead of going all
in for Giannis or only drafting youngsters and letting the

(01:15:34):
core grow together, finding that middle ground, like you said
it potentially as Steven Adams pick up or someone you know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
This made me think of this made me think of
early two thousand problems. Tiago, Maleik all the we we
kept plugging in sinners after or after Robinson left because
we needed Duncan on the four to be on the
in the four spot, and we kept on putting in
sinners in center after center after Ciner. Thiago stayed there

(01:16:04):
a little bit longer just because of the connection with Jenobli,
but we had Malik Rose down there. We had a
couple other people I just can't remember. Uh. Willis was earlier,
Kevin Willis. Oh he was a bruiser, but he was
off the bench. But like I, we can plug into
Steven Adams. Was it for a minute, Yeah, in the Stereovich, Yeah,

(01:16:25):
I remember that guy Forget. So, I mean, this sounds
like a problem we've done before.

Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
But the problem, the way, the reason that worked before
was because the guy you're parenting next to is Tim Duncan.
And we got Wenby, sure, but let's not call Winby
anywhere close to Tim Duncan yet. That's the still of.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
Course, he's not Timmy yet.

Speaker 2 (01:16:49):
He needs the rings right, But we're saying talent for talent,
but you're talking about a team that was a contender,
that was just filling stop gaps in next to Timmy.
This is where when you're thinking of this team is
not a contender. It needs to be built to get there.
So the path to get there is either.

Speaker 3 (01:17:08):
If you want to write down in a little notebook,
we're gonna win forty five next year, put it down
forty five.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Do you under the longtime a team jumped twenty five games, Well,
we also tanked about ten. I guess it was only
that would only that would only be what like fourteen
win improvement. They finished thirty one wins. This, yea is
we're gonna win forty five.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
We're gonna be We're not gonna be in the play
and we're gonna be one through six. We are going
to be. Okay, Winby is going to need to start
taking over. This is and this this is what.

Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
This is where you start to lose me because I
don't disagree that that is possible, but as probably construction
probably not probable that it's actually.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
Talking about it would be even a generational talent.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
No, no, no, explain all of the Please tell me
right now. You have you have Dylan Harper stuff like
everyone we know, like assuming that's who they take in
the draft. And you're thinking the addition of as you said,
Steven Adams and free agency, rotting corpse of Steven Adams,

(01:18:22):
rotting corpse. He's a third of what he was three
years ago before.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
But do you think that in like Wimby's not going
to be not down there, He's going to be down
there getting all his blocks and getting all his rebounds.
You're telling me, with a stronger, more versatile, better point
guard when Wimby for a pick and roll, and then
you add, let's go withering Steven Adams down there to

(01:18:53):
help them, like get the big men off them. And
then the okay, so it's too crowded down there. We
got Dylan Harper, Stefan Castle and who who else we
can throw into another one, so Hian or whatever, like
shoot the ball, put it on the ground. You're telling
me we can outscore them while playing defense. And we're

(01:19:15):
young and we're fast. Forty five market, I'm telling you
forty five. This Oklahoma City team with the MVP, they're good.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
They're great, and we're coming for him. Do you see
how long it's taken them to get to three year point.
It's been five years three. Yeah, but they got to
the point two years ago. They got they got up
to the top four two years ago. No, they lost
to two years last year they lost to Dallas and
in the second round they lost.

Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
They lost to the people that went to the championship
in the second round, not in the conference they had.
They had the best record in the West, and the
year before that they were in the top six. So
three years ago they are going to do the jump.
We're going to do.

Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
Look, if it happens, No, they're not. They're actually not,
which is what I'm trying to tell you. If it happens,
you have it on record. But the amount of irrational confidence,
the amount of confidence, the way you talk about it
as if it's just.

Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
Like barring injuries.

Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
Of course no, of course, of course barring injuries for
any other team too. I guess it's not that I
don't have faith that we could see development jumps that
would put the Spurs in that conversation. It's more that
I look at the rest of the Western Conference, and

(01:20:50):
even with all of the moves you proposed. I see,
you know, see six teams better than the next.

Speaker 3 (01:20:56):
Year, next episode, next podcast. Let's sit there and die
sect the Western Conference in who we would go against,
and let's rack up those wins and let's see who
we're like. Okay, we'll go two for two years, We'll
go like for one.

Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Let me let's start here, Let's see how far. Let's
see when you lose me. Will the Spurs be better
than the Thunder next year?

Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Or no? No?

Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
But we we took one from the Thunder. Yes, we
took one.

Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Regular season, they won sixty eight.

Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
This okay, So are we talking regular season? Are we
talking sidive?

Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
We're saying finishing top six, in the top six, so
we're talking regular the Thunder Thunder?

Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
Yes or no? Better than the Thunder. I think we
have the ability to take one at least, if not split.

Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
You're suggesting that the Spurs would have any chance of
finishing higher than the Thunder next year as currently. That's
what I'm saying. I'm talking.

Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
I'm talking about their series. Okay, it's not no, we're
talking you said finished top I see where you're going
at Thunder, Well.

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
They finished well the Spurs finished hiring the thunder thunders?
Will the Spurs finished higher than the Rockets? The Rockets
just won fifty two games in with the two seas.
Let's go ahead say, well, the Spurs finish higher than
the Lakers with still Luca and your yes, absolutely, Lakers
just one fifty absolutely, oh, absolutely, the Spurs. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Yeah, he's playing forty one year old and Lucas sure
Fats is gonna be on the team.

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
I'm sorry, a player that again has five First Team
All Olympia on the record, right, Nuggets? Will the Spurs
be better than the Nuggets next year?

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
That's a push because Jamal Murray's a shadow of himself.

Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
That's no push. Yes or no, Okay, let's say no,
no Clippers, Yes, Tea Wolves, Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
They're gonna blow it up. They're gonna blow it up.

Speaker 2 (01:22:49):
So those you have of the time.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
They got, they got so much they got to spin
on te Wolves that you know this, But they gotta
blow up the team.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
They are appearing in back to back Western Conference finals,
and now you're sitting.

Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
Here saying.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
Spurs are going to do better in that next year.
Any anyone can see in regular this is what drives
drives me crazy sometimes about these conversations, the amount of
just instant like, oh, no, we're better, we're better, Like, no,
I'm talking about I'm putting.

Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
I'm putting that on the assumption that T Wolves have
to pay a lot of players and they can't do it,
so somebody's got to go.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
So the T T Wolves lose nas reed and all
of a sudden they're going to finish lower than the Spurs.
Maybe okay, and the rest doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
So so throw throw T Wolves up there. Where are
we at five?

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Because no, technically you're okay.

Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
Put the Leggers above the are the Clippers because you
laughed at me on that one and you think Kawhi
Leonard is going to dominate us? All right, we're at six.
We're at where I said. I didn't say we're going
to finish. I said finished top six, So that that
means a six, maybe a five.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
Now we're even talking you might have home court advantage
in the playoffs next year. That's insanity. Insanity. The MAVs
just got Cooper Flag to add to a dre we No,
I'll just see what.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
I'm talking to DFW guy right the God, I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Sorry, I just look at results and actual stats instead
of this feeling of oh, now we're the Spurs, We're
gonna be good again next year. There is not humans
Miss Johnson's first year is the actual head coach. It's
gonna go fine, it's gonna go great. There's no issues here.
We're top six. We're looking at home court advantage in
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
Were we was our team flatlining or before Wimby got
before Winby got hurt, and before we got.

Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
There, they were they were three games out of the
tenth seed. They were still we were, we were gearing up,
we were better recover with that. We were Roman salutes.

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
We were No, don't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
I just think it's I love the optimism, but I
I think the Oklahoma City example is a perfect example
because the way the league like granted Wimby could all
of a sudden become the unquestionable best player in the
league that carries a team to a fifty win season

(01:25:23):
by himself.

Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
What does everybody say about him?

Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
No, right, freaking completely completely agree.

Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
Everybody's in awe of them.

Speaker 2 (01:25:30):
And now he's stronger, but usually capable, usually especially a
big may who's not a guard. Yeah, that's a huge.
Let's cross our fingers about that one. Yeah, usually it
takes more than one guy to be a fifty win
team in the league. And all I'm suggesting is that
this year there were six fifty win teams, and you're

(01:25:50):
telling me the Spurs are gonna be better than there
were six and the six and yeah, no in the
in the West, like right there, I think if forty,
I think six seed was forty.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
I was just think there was a lot. I think
there was a lot of tanking because of Cooper flag.

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
Oh not just us, but yeah, the Tea Wolves were
the sixth seed and they had forty nine wins.

Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
So you're telling me they didn't even get fifty wins
and we might not be able to jump over the Tea.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
Wolves also forty five wins. Forty five wins that you described,
that would have been the nine seed this year.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
So again I said forty five wins, I say, we're
getting over it. I said, we're scoring. We're winning more
than forty five games. That is my benchmark. That is
my over under right there. Look, And I'm hey, I'm
an optimist.

Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
And that's why I love it. Again, That's why I
love it. I think the I think the depending on
which way the Spurs go. If the Spurs end up
keeping that second first round pick, whether it is the
fourteenth pick, or they move up, I think that would
decrease your odds of being right because that patience of development,

(01:27:00):
of developing another teenager. I think if they had pushed
all their chips in for Giannis, I think you would
have a really good chance of being right. But mid
har that man, But very few people are that man
their first year. We don't need them because we got
we got Steph Castle, who's about to be a top

(01:27:21):
five player.

Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
And I just said Dearn Fox, Wimby and then Steph Castle.
I didn't say Steph Castle first. You know I love
me some Steph Castle.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
I know everybody loves Steph Castle. But I think I
think if you live with anybody and in national NBA circles,
the amount of love might be a little.

Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
Might be a little mundy jump out the building.

Speaker 2 (01:27:42):
Compared to the actual value we're getting late, LG. Let's
get us to the lightning round here. Any of either
of y'all been watching the French Open. It started earlier
this week watching some tennis. Nope, so it is the
first year of a ten year deal that team has.
They've been doing a great job so far. A lot

(01:28:02):
of Americans are doing well so far. The most important
or the thing I've enjoyed the most is because TNT
is max so HBO subscription. Every single match is on
the HBO.

Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
App and they got a different angles and that's great.
It's been good so far. Hey, I'm gonna have to
check me some out. Hit me LG. It is there.
It is now. Did you know that in the next
two seasons, with brock Perty's big contract that everybody keeps
talking about that he has to earn it, that one

(01:28:40):
Samuel Donald will have more of a cap hit than
Brock Purdy over the next two sees.

Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
I saw some of the funny math that they had
worked out with. It's genius. I meane York.

Speaker 3 (01:28:51):
Yeah. When they started talking about when they drafted Trey
Lance and Kyle Shanahan goes over to Jefe York and
he says, I think our third st quarterback might be
our best quarterback. Jeff Yard just went it's a good
problem to have, though, the problem to have go there, Jesus,
Brock LG.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Hit me. Watched a fair bit of soccer this past
weekend a little bit today even as well. So Liverpool
won the Premier League, but my Chelsea Blues finished top
four back in the Champions League next year for the
first time and quite a while, and then Chelsea won

(01:29:33):
the gimmicky Europa Conference League today. But it's just good
to see someone in a Chelsea uniform jersey actually hold
a trophy again. That one had been a while and
elsewhere in European sports we had it's it's the most
boring race of the season in Formula One, the Indy, well,

(01:29:55):
the Indye was here, but in Europe in the Formula
One it was was the Monaco Grand Prix, so it's
it's equally it's the most boring one because there's no passing.
It's all like time trial basically for the most part.
But there were over like three hundred billion dollars worth
of yacht part and because it's Monica, it's literally Casino

(01:30:18):
Royale from the bomb mean, it's you're driving through the
richest principality in the world, so it's it looks awesome,
but it's the most boring.

Speaker 3 (01:30:26):
Race of the season. So yeah, I told you how
they flew in yachts for the Austin f one. Man,
they're flying them into Lake Travis, just dropping them in.

Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
And that's what I was saying, Like, someone drive that
thing up the brasses.

Speaker 3 (01:30:43):
Stefan. Stefan Diggs is the perfect one for this. Stefan
Diggs was not at the Patriots OTAs and was caught
on the video with a couple of Instagram miles three
of them, and waving a pink substance in a is
Instagram model.

Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
What we're calling horrors now we're calling whores horrors are
actual Instagram models? Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
Heard? Heard? Yeah, that's uh that pink substance. What wasn't
that the one dude that singer from the boy band
jumped off the jumped off the balcony.

Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
Oh down in Brazil. Yeah, Now that he's like this
like X mixed with crystal. Yeah, And it didn't. To
Diggs's credit, it looked like he was giving more of
a safety course to the young women. It didn't look
necessarily like he was.

Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
He's about his people, man, See what I'm saying, they
weren't whores. If they are whores, he's just gonna just
be like put this.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Yeah, he clearly graduated from there, like the rest of us,
hit me, LG. Something we talked, God, okay, time out.

Speaker 3 (01:31:51):
This was unplanned.

Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
I was just I swear I'm about to talk about
the Fever and Sky ticket.

Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
So we talked a little bit about that, uh, that
Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese harnfoul confrontation whatnot? Those Kay,
Caitlyn Clark uh now is injured and you sent me this.
I saw if there's any argument about who runs that

(01:32:23):
league and the value that is driven by individual players
to take an average ticket prices drop from like ninety
eight dollars to twenty five after the Caitlyn Clark injury.
Talking about the you know the drop set next matchup, Yeah,
between Fever and Sky. So again, yeah, I defend a
lot of the anger or frustration towards Kitlyn, but at

(01:32:46):
the end of the day, you can't argue with.

Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
The numbers an another girl's value. She's like, if you
want to if you want to play like a man,
you're gonna be treated like a man. And I'm like,
y'all know this is the wu in.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
Yeah again, minor detail there, minor detail.

Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Hit me, LG. Oh, this is a great one because
Trump's been throwing out them. Pardon yet a part there,
pardon there. You know he's he did old buddy from Detroit,
from the black mafia family. Oh yeah, Larry Hoover, Larry Hoover.
He got himself apart of a young boy and NBA

(01:33:22):
Young Boy thet a pardon and we got the Chris Les.
They those embezzlings, s obs.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
Who are they?

Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
People are talking. The guy acts like he's gay, but
he's not gay. And they have a family. But they
got parton. And you know who's super upset about this?

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
I think I have a good guess.

Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
One Joe exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Pilot points, sweet.

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
Joe, pardon my boy, Oklahoma's own. Didn't you have?

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
Joe?

Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
What was the story you had last week about it?

Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Was it his boyfriend? He got released from jel and
got deported. Joe can't do enough, main got prostate cancer.
His boys in Mexico. Let Joe go.

Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
It's it's pretty come on, man, if Joe exotic, if
they're actually like the uh well, actually the if someone
is presenting because like Trump doesn't know who NBA Young
Boy is. He has no clue, man, no clue, no clue.
He had no clue who you know. Kodak Black was
told for sure. So imagine being the person that is like, uh,

(01:34:29):
Trump's taking these pardons and it's like, oh, NB, a
young boy, what did he do? Okay, fine, pardon him?
And then the next person steps up, it's like Joe
Exotic and Trump like no, absolutely not, absolutely no Joe Exotic,
not even rock in prison, absolutely not. Like just imagine
being the like dividing line Trump looking at Joe Exotic, a.

Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
Little two out there, a little too gay for me.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
Don't like to look at this guy. Absolutely not. No.
Hit me, LG.

Speaker 3 (01:34:58):
I'm here for the gang bang.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
We all didn't, did y'all either of y'all see who
the new number one barbecue place is in Texas, according
to Texas Monthly. Hit me with it in our region,
in our area. Uh, and it's hard to argue with
it being number one. The boys up in Sageen, that
Burnt Bean company it is. I mean, it's it's been

(01:35:21):
climbing the ranks. I think they do that. They do
these like either every two years or every four years,
like the Olympia.

Speaker 3 (01:35:28):
And there's like three good ones in Sagein. Because my
dad lives in between Sageen, New bron Fils, and we
ate it, this new one and I saw like I
forget the name of it, but we also ate this
other one.

Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
Dovilas is up there, Adrian his family has been doing.
I used to actually get to I used to do
their pr up there, the great Davila family of Sageen.

Speaker 3 (01:35:51):
Now the the burn Bean's good.

Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
Burn Bean is really good and so they're I mean,
they're really really good. They were number one in the
Texas Monthly's whole ranking, but also had my personal favorite
here in town. To Him was on the list, and
then one if you haven't I know, to him has
gotten a lot of love, and Pinkerton's was on the

(01:36:16):
list as well. Pinkerton's is great. Pinkerton's is more to him.

Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
I like flavors to him. The spices are out of
this world.

Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
I would still put to him above Burn. But I
love I love burn being too. It's good, it's good.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
It's just a little bit of a shacky. Yeah, I
gotta sit outside with.

Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
The fly that's a little rough at times. But the
sneaky one that also made the list, Reese Brothers, and
it is like, I don't want too many people to
know about it even though I'm about to talk about it.
So that's right. It is. It is right by the
Alamo Dome.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
Oh wow, and it is so good.

Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
It's why and it's not too busy, it's not crazy yet.
I feel it's about.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
Reese Brothers and funnel Cakes in the past couple of
weeks pretty.

Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
Much, I'm carrying around the spare tire.

Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
Now hit me lge speaking of whores, the Only Fans
model and spectacular Hannah Night. Hold on, I had to
be hospitalized.

Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
To do some show research here, dude.

Speaker 3 (01:37:24):
I had to be hosptiale for bleeding two days after completing. Okay,
I think I'm completing the challenge where she slept with
five hundred and eighty three men in six hours. That
is a champer. That is a champ right there. And
you know what, you know what happens with the champion.
You have good support around you. Her man said right beforehand,

(01:37:44):
go make us proud. God, We'll make us proud those
five hundred eighty three men. And why six.

Speaker 2 (01:37:52):
Hours, honest question. We're in We're in the safe space,
We're in the trust. Why does every OnlyFans girl seem
like they're like Kobe Yashi and Joey Chestnut at like
food competition, like who can eat? Like, oh, you did

(01:38:12):
one hundred in a day, I'm gonna do five hundred
and thirty six.

Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
I think us men need to look in the mirror
this one. There's a reason why they're like for some reason,
there's some in cells out there that like watching this.
I watched it with used some five hundred classic that
was high school. She had to sit in the ice
bath and I couldn't watch porn for two years after that.
That way, it ruined it for me. It ruined it

(01:38:37):
as I.

Speaker 2 (01:38:38):
Would hope, as I would hope it would lg hit
me all right before I got a couple more here.
But we did this last week and I enjoyed the
hell out of it.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
See a concert tomorrow night, and I'm going to a
venue I've only been i haven't been to for a
full show. I've only been to for like a private event.
And that sounded fancy, like cater you know, stuff like that.
I am talking about the greatness that is the Drive
Through Truckers playing at Stable Hole tomorrow night. If you're

(01:39:17):
unfamiliar with the Drive Through or drive by truckers, not
drive through. Uh they are. It's great. Just I've actually
heard of the country American it's great. I believe it
or not, I've actually heard of them. They're actually pretty good.
Yeah they if you know who Jason isbel is he

(01:39:37):
was a member at one point when he was a teenager,
young young kid. But they are are still u still
really good live show. So I'm going tomorrow night, and
I thought it would be a fun uh prep here,
Let's see if they have any one star reviews like
we did last Okay, give me that one star are

(01:40:00):
two months ago. Erica says, unfortunately, had a horrible experience
my first time Herefortunately, we purchased tickets in the hayloft
standing area.

Speaker 3 (01:40:11):
First of all, hayloft like that just like hate, Like
you're in a haye and it's a loft.

Speaker 2 (01:40:17):
Yeah. Well it's like a like a hayloft of a barn.
You know, you walk into an old barn and it's uh,
the hayloft.

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
So it's the stable hall. So it's the former stables.
I think I think she is saying it the area exactly. Oh,
here we go, which do cost more than general admission
standing area. So Erica is letting us know because letting

(01:40:45):
us know that she paid more. She paid extra for
this standing area. The website does state we will have
access to lounge area and please note you cannot see
stage from that area, but we can stand. So now
she's paid extra for these exclusive tickets. She has access

(01:41:08):
to a lounge area, but apparently she can't see the
stage from either of them.

Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
And she's complaining.

Speaker 2 (01:41:15):
Of course, because it's a one star. You took the time,
you took the time to leave a Not only did
she take the time to leave a one star review,
but eighteen people reacted to it with an emoji. So
eighteen people read this entire dollar mac. This is not like,
this is straight. That's that's a that's an essay, that's
a that's a convinced like this is a manifesto. This

(01:41:37):
is a Kazinski level.

Speaker 3 (01:41:41):
God bless her boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (01:41:42):
There. There's too much going on here.

Speaker 3 (01:41:45):
A cook.

Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
Yeah, oh, and it was for the Stony LaRue show
on Valentine's We had while he was still laughing, he
did refund my money, So she ends up getting a refund.

Speaker 3 (01:42:00):
You carried out on Valentine's.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Day we had to leave and I was in tears,
didn't get to see Stony LaRue and our Valentine's Night
was run. So one star from Eric. Pamela here says
the little Man's at the top all caps, all caps.
Beware of ticket pricing at Pearl Stable Hall. I recently

(01:42:23):
purchased two floor standing room only tickets, which is what
I purchased. This is applicable to me. Apparently through their website,
which uses a third party seller. I was charged sixty
nine dollars each sixty nine, nice, Pamela, only to find
out that tickets at the door were being sold for
twenty dollars. Yeah, that's a she notes, that's nearly a

(01:42:48):
fifty dollars markup. Yes it is. That's a forty nine
dollars markup, Pamela. This kind of pricing discrepancy is frustrating
and feels like an unfair up charge. If you're planning
to attend an event here, I highly recommend checking for
on site ticket off How is that the.

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
How is that the place's fault? But you got she
got basically conned out of money from a third party.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Yeah, it feels like you laid yourself there Pammel put the.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
One star on the third party. You know, not this place.
This place didn't do anything.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Oh this is always this is always one of the
fun ones to me. Janelle says, very disappointed in this establishment.
Seems like you need to be of a certain race
to be treated with. Now we have racism. Does not
sound like now we have racism entering the chat.

Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
I mean there is a hayloft.

Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
I'm upset we didn't get the manager's name that treated
us horribly. But if he's reading this, he will know
do better, Pearl Stable, So wow, could be h could
be a rough night ahead, Pearl.

Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
You go tell me about that clamming you're going to
later then yeah, LG.

Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
Hit me one last time.

Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
We'll close with this.

Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
Still haven't had time to get to the E bombs corner.
I swear we've now, we've got the well video, I've
got an awesome Nintendo helpline video, But alas we have
no time this week, we will close out with the
nine year anniversary of our fallen compatriot.

Speaker 1 (01:44:29):
Harambe, Oh good Rambe.

Speaker 2 (01:44:33):
One man. One man who was not as excited about
this story nine years ago was sports talk legend Mike
francessa who absolutely lost it on a caller. Die was calling,
I think this was I think this clip is from

(01:44:55):
the five year anniversary of the Harambe day. You have this, LG.
Can you imagine if that was your child in there?
You're gonna have people who are gonna say, wait a second,
I'm worried about the gorilla. Well, your kids in there
basically maybe a seconds from having his head crushed.

Speaker 1 (01:45:17):
We live in a world now where you are gonna
be walked through some with the gorilla than you are.

Speaker 3 (01:45:21):
The little boy. Yeah, much more wear your papa.

Speaker 2 (01:45:25):
They're thinking about it. He fell into it area, or
he's in there with a gorilla. He's daring him around
that habitat.

Speaker 1 (01:45:33):
And you're telling me you're worried about the gorilla's welfare.

Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
What is wrong with you? All right? This is why
Mike Francess, this is why he is a legend, only
a New York radio legend. Hey, you're getting about the gorilla.
The gorillas are at the gorilla. It's a gorilla. Hey,

(01:45:58):
there's a gorilla.

Speaker 3 (01:45:59):
There's a there's a there's a child from a mother.

Speaker 2 (01:46:02):
Every single BS anniversary like this, there's a clip of
my friends us a bitching about it, and so I
always I am a you know, just as a radio nerd.

Speaker 3 (01:46:13):
I am a next year ten years decade long. Oh nice,
still remember.

Speaker 2 (01:46:19):
You ten year anniversary of harambe and uh sixty five?
Yes party, helg get us out of here.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
That will do it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
Uh quickly shout out to the roommate. My lovely, caring,
supportive wife literally finished grad school today, So congratulations. We
have been we have been teasing the return of Friday
episodes with who Won the Internet with her? But she's
been finishing grad school. He's been doing real life no more,

(01:46:53):
not kidding, baby, I love you very very proud of that.
So hopefully now you got some free times time to
do some episodes.

Speaker 3 (01:47:03):
Oh well, you know free time when do you usually
mean pizza or something like?

Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
This guy just wants to do content content content, all right?
As always, thank you all for riding helloldome cowboys. Maybe
in a weekend cowboys till then we'll see y'all later,
the real cowboys.

Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
Kids. What do we say about drugs?

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
