Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like be Li Li b you heard the man light
your respective beams. We are back for one last ride
this week here on the Sports Cave with Biggest Puma.

(00:21):
As always, I am your host, Sam Freeze. If you
want to reach out to me, can find me at
Biggest Puma on x Biggest Dot Puma on Instagram. Broadcasting
live to tape here on the east side of San Antonio,
where the UIL State Marching bands have once again invaded,
should make for an unfortunately loud weekend here in the neighborhood.

(00:46):
Twenty two days till Texas v. Texas, A and M.
It's a Friday run sheet, so you know we'll have
some who won the Internet with the Roommate coming up
in the main segment. If you missed any of yesterday's episode,
we talked a lot of football. Moved all of the
Pigskin previews to Thursdays, so we had NFL college and

(01:06):
a little high school football talk along with a little
Spurs and NBA general discussion at the top of the
episode yesterday, Good solid twenty minutes of basketball talk. Good
solid forty minutes of football talk. If you missed any
of that, you've got all weekend to catch up, But
as always, we start with what I watched last night.

(01:28):
We talked about it yesterday. Spurs needed to start this
homestand with a good win, that's exactly what they got.
They end up beating the Portland Trailblazers one eighteen to
one oh five last night, and if you watch the game,
you probably agree with me. It felt like the Spurs
were in complete control the entire first half, but then

(01:49):
you look up and it's only a one point lead
at halftime. They end up winning the third quarter by
eleven points, really opening the game up. An efficient night
on both ends of the court for the Spurs on
a night where ironically Wimby was the least efficient player
at least on offense. For the Spurs last night, eight

(02:09):
guys end up scoring double figures, led by Malachi Branham
and Keldon Johnson both scored a team high seventeen points
last night. But it wasn't just them. I mean, you
had Brandam, Keldon Collins, Blake Wesley all in double figures
last night. Nearly half the Spurs total points just between

(02:29):
those four, fifty eight of the one hundred and eighteen
total points between the four of them, and they needed
it because, like I said, Wimby was pretty cold on
the offensive side of the court, ends up shooting four
for thirteen, only two for six on threes. But again,
as a team, the Spurs shot fifty four percent on
phild goals and forty one percent on threes, so everybody

(02:52):
else picked up the slack and you love to see
that against a team like Portland. You know, we talked yesterday.
There's three he very identifiably easy wins on this five
game homestand, and Portland's one of them, Utah is another
one tomorrow night, and then Washington on the back end
of the homestand. And getting this first win starting this

(03:15):
run of five on the right foot was huge and
it wouldn't have happened without the contributions up and down
the lineup. But it wasn't all good. It seems like
the Spurs can't avoid the bad luck bug that's going around.
I mentioned Branham tied with Keldon for the team lead
and scoring. He also rolled his ankle two minutes into

(03:36):
the fourth quarter, or he probably would have scored more.
Ends up not returning to the game last night, and
now earlier today, it's reported that he is questionable for
tomorrow night against Utah, which actually is a worst status
designation now than Vassell, who's now listed as probable for
tomorrow night, So it seems like they might get Vassell

(03:58):
back at the same time they potentially lose Brandum for
a game or two. Hopefully it's nothing that lingers, nothing
too serious. With all the injury talk, it feels like
a good time to mention Trey Jones is also still out,
potentially coming back sometime next week, so they're gonna be
without so Hand for a month minimum, probably closer to

(04:20):
month and a half turn of the new year before
he gets back. It would be great to have everybody
else as healthy as possible as they're trying to figure
out some rotations and solutions for how to replace so
Hand for the next fifteen twenty games or so. And
I know it's kind of low volume, but Malachi is

(04:42):
shooting two point eight threes a game, almost three attempts
a game, and he's hitting at fifty two percent right now.
He is top ten in the league amongst guys that
have at least twenty five attempts this season. So when
he does get back healthy, I would like to see
him bump those at ten hemps up a couple more
a game if we could, If he could get up

(05:03):
to shooting four or five a game and still hit
anywhere close to that fifty percent clip, that's miles ahead
of where he's been at the first two years in
his career. And again, it might just be a hot streak,
but file that under the things I like to see
this early into the season. We also talked yesterday about
how they're going to fill some of these minutes, some

(05:24):
of the rotations are going to be different with so
Hand being out for now. Well, last night we saw
Zach Collins pick up some of that slack. I didn't
really mention Zach yesterday when we were talking about it
because it seemed like his role probably I would stay
about the same as it was, not over extend him,
especially when you saw them put Steph Castle in the

(05:46):
starting lineup. And it was similar last night with Collins
only playing fifteen minutes but extremely efficient on the offensive
end fourteen points on six of seven shooting, and so
far this season his three points has shown up. He
was two for three last night. Again, file that under
things I like to see. Spacing has been a bit

(06:09):
of a buzzword so far this season with the Spurs offense,
and you know, with the Cell coming back, you're going
to get more spacing because of his shooting ability. If
Collins can hit anywhere close to what he's hitting so
far this season, that's at least a threat to opposing defenses,
and then brand I'm hitting over fifty percent, that's not

(06:30):
tenable in the long run. But if he can stay
above forty percent or even flirt with forty three forty
four percent, that would go a long ways to helping
create some of that spacing and take some of the
pressure off Wemby, because again, I think a lot of
the conversation and narrative around Wemby right now is a

(06:50):
bit overblown. It's a team that's playing with very important
pieces missing, and also a team that's getting used to
playing with a couple of new veterans that are also
learning how to play next to Wemby themselves. So I
think the spacing will fix itself if the Cell can
stay healthy, and certainly if some of these guys can

(07:14):
keep hitting from the outside at the clip they have
so far this season. But all in all, great win
against a bad team that's going to go a long
way for the Spurs when it comes to separating themselves
from the cellar dwellers of the Western Conference. Portland certainly
one of those, Jazz certainly one of those. You got

(07:35):
to beat those teams, especially on your home court, and
the Spurs did exactly that. Took care of business last night.
Now let's repeat it against Utah. Also last night we
had Thursday Night football, a great divisional rival, great division
matchup Ravens Bengals. The first time they played it went
to overtime. Last night could have gone to overtime again

(07:59):
if Zach Taylor hadn't chose to go for two there
at the end with thirty some odds seconds left. Again,
we talked about it with the Buccaneers, especially when you're
playing Patrick Mahomes in Arrowhead. You gotta go for two
if you're in that position. Tampa Bay didn't do it.
Kansas City drives down and scores Bingals last night. Had

(08:21):
the opportunity, had the decision to make, chose to go
for two. Don't convert it. But I think you live
with the decision. You know, Dan Campbell makes that decision
more often than any current coach. And going back to
that game last year against the Cowboys when the Lions
chose to go for two at the end, and he
did a radio interview and said, yeah, no, I stand

(08:43):
by it. It's that's why I make that decision. You
have to live with the results, and unfortunately last night
the Bengals are going to fill really hard done because
not only did they not convert that, but there also
were two blatantly obvious penalties that went uncalled on that
two point conversion, which makes it even more of a

(09:04):
gut punch because at minimum they should have gotten at
least one more attempt to punch that in from then
the yard and a half line. But at the end
of the day, it's a one point loss to the
division leading Baltimore Ravens. I had to double check this
stat whenever I read it this morning. That's the largest
deficit in three years for Lamar Jackson. Bengals were up

(09:29):
twenty one to seven in the third quarter of that game.
Fourteen points is the largest deficit Lamar Jackson has faced
in the last three years. And he was great last night,
ends up throwing three touchdowns in the fourth quarter as
part of that comeback. Four touchdowns total two hundred and
ninety passing yards just an absolute video game. It's amazing

(09:52):
that we get to watch him and Patrick Mahomes at
the same time because I think both of them do
things at the quarterback position that we've absolutely never come
close to seeing before. It's a shame that Mahomes ends
up being the hurdle in the playoffs every year for
Lamar Jackson. But if you love offense, you enjoyed the

(10:13):
hell out of that game last night because it wasn't
just Baltimore in their comeback effort that put up a
lot of numbers. Huge game from the Cincinnati offense, which
was expected going into that game last night. You know,
Baltimore's secondary is absolutely the weakness on that team, and
if they're not getting pressure on Burrow, he's going to

(10:35):
carve them up. And even though they got a little
pressure and at times had multiple hits on him that
were questionable at the least, doesn't seem like Burrow gets
nearly as many of those calls as his talent should deserve.
But he ends up throwing for four hundred and twenty
eight yards four touchdowns himself. But it was really Jamar

(10:57):
Chase that stole the headlines for them, eleven catches, two
hundred and sixty four yards, three touchdowns. You talk about
Lamar's video game numbers, Jamar Chase just put up numbers
like I do against my brother in Madden. That's now
a total of four hundred and fifty seven yards receiving
this year for Chase versus the Ravens. I know he

(11:19):
won't be happy about the record setting performance because they lost,
but that total amount of yards is the most against
any single opponent in an NFL season by a receiver.
But in a game that the Bengals really needed to win,
I'm sure Jamar Chase takes the record setting performance as

(11:39):
no consolation prize. I mentioned the miss calls. There's something
perfectly poetic about a Thursday night football game being ruined
at the end by poor officiating, and it was there
were questionable calls throughout the night. But just to see
that Thursday night NFL product that is usually a terrible product, well,

(12:01):
this time we actually got a great game, a compelling game,
two solid teams with playoff aspirations, and the product still
gets runed by officiating. I thought that was just absolute
poetic perfection watching that last night, just thinking amazon the
NFL Thursday Night. They can never give us an actual, full, compelling,

(12:25):
complete game, void of whether it be technical mismanagement, poor officiating, injuries,
poor play. It's always something on Thursday Night. And once
again we got something to bitch about coming out of
that game. Speaking of poor play and things to bitch about,
let's get into some Cowboy notes real quick. See what

(12:47):
I did there. As much as I don't want to,
got to talk a little bit of Cowboys before we
get to who won the Internet. We talked a lot
yesterday about the Cowboys long list of injuries there dealing
with Well, we did get some answers today, starting with
the biggest question. We knew Dak wasn't going to play.

(13:08):
We knew, we know he's going to be out multiple weeks. Well,
now we know he's going to be out at least
four weeks minimum, because the Cowboys are going to officially
place Dak on the injured reserve for only the second
time in his career, the other time being when Tony
Romo hoped it was just a cramp, but it was

(13:29):
actually a compound fracture to his ankle. Dak will miss
at least four games, which would mean he'd be eligible
to come back December ninth, as the Cowboys host the
Bengals on that weekend. The question now, though, is how
does the hamstring react over the next four weeks. We
know it's four weeks minimum, it could still be six,

(13:52):
it could still be eight, or it could still be
season ending surgery. So a lot to figure out now
week to week with Dak's health, but we know guaranteed
he will miss the next four games, so enjoy the
Cooper Rush experience. We did get Mike McCarthy saying today specifically,

(14:12):
they do have some packages that involve Trey Lance, so
maybe we'll get some kind of gimmicky Trey Lance run
first type of play scheme, which I wouldn't be against that.
We talked about this yesterday, where you know, I'm still
there's no reason to play Trey Lance as the starter
because you're not going to re sign him after giving

(14:32):
the big extension to Dak. Trey was always intended to
service some kind of leverage in the negotiations with Dak,
but he's been so bad there's no leverage to the
franchise to even push Trey as an alternative in the future,
which is a big reason why Dak got the deal
and a big reason why I think now it's better

(14:54):
to turn to Cooper Rush because there's too much talent
on this roster. Despite as as we are talking about them,
you still got to try to win games, and three
and five is not one in seven, so they're fighting
to get back to five hundred. That starts this week
against the Eagles. A couple other injury updates, it does

(15:16):
seem like CD is completely cleared to play Sunday, along
with Zach Martin as well. So again talking about the
talent still on this roster, you still got CD, you
still got Zach Martin. It sounds like we're gonna have
the return of Micah Parsons. You've still got to put
the best team out there that you think is going

(15:37):
to help win games. So it's Cooper Rush's time. He's
still got some weapons to work with. I know all
of that doesn't mean there's great hope going into this game,
but at least they are getting a little bit healthier.
Digs Get and Kendricks all still questionable. It sounds like
they will be game time decisions. The first news of

(16:00):
the week is Deron Bland is still out. He's been
ruled out for the game already. That setback on his
foot must have been worse than they initially thought, or
should say, worse than they initially told us, because we're
now approaching double digit weeks since the injury and he
doesn't seem to be progressing even he was a non

(16:23):
participant in practice all week for another week after being
activated from the ir But it's not just the Cowboys
that have injury concerns. We got the headline earlier today.
Jalen Hurts has been limited all week with an ankle injury,
and apparently it's something that's been bothering him for a
couple of weeks now, so I don't think there's any

(16:46):
question he plays on Sunday. But with his mobility potentially
being limited or at least weakened because of the injury,
that combined with Micah Parsons returning to the lineup, maybe
this Cowboys defense can get into the Eagles backfield, cause
some trouble, cost some chaos, and make things easier on

(17:08):
the secondary because if Micah can get consistent pressure, it's
all of a sudden going to make that secondary look
a little better. Despite their own issues and Dig's own
health issues as well, so still feeling like it's an
Eagles win. Maybe Cowboys plus seven is a little more
attractive now with some of those injury updates, but as always,

(17:33):
we will talk plenty of Cowboys reactions on Monday's episode.
It's Friday, It's time to have a little fun. Let's
play another round of Who Won the Internet? Featuring the roommate.
I won, I won, I won, I won, I've won,

(17:54):
I've won holy years, I've waited for this year. I've
been I've never won, never won one f Now I
won the Internet on the Internet. Well, we normally do
this on Fridays, and let the record show it was
Friday when I recorded that very very professional lead in

(18:17):
for this segment and created that snazzy new sounder.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
It's a little it's progress. It's I'm not sure I'm
ready to say I love it, but it's progress. We're
getting there. It is time for another edition of Who
Won the Internet? Featuring the roommate. As you can already tell,
who is joining me now, Hello, I mentioned we normally
do this Fridays. We're recording this now on Monday evening

(18:44):
because one of us is dealing with our own batch
of the flu.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Now, yeah, it's me and it sucks.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Well, I think process of elimination could probably already determine
that it was you dealing with it, considering it was
me ten days ago or so. Now you are at
least maybe coming out of the full throws of it
this past weekend.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
I sure hope, so, fingers crossed.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Well, I will say this, you sound a lot better
now than you did when we tried to do this
Friday as it was starting to run its full course.
Since you are playing under the weather and I do
appreciate you still fighting through it to try to get
this recorded, I will give you first choice. As always,
we each present two stories from this past week. This

(19:33):
one now from this past week and a half. Stretching
a little bit, but we both present two stories to
try to determine who exactly won the Internet. And it's
usually our Internet feeds are very, very different. So I'm
curious to see what you have for me this week.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Well, speaking of being sick, forty to forty three monkeys
escaped from a biol research facility in South Carolina, which
is just terrifying.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Okay, yeah, I wondered I had this on my note,
so I'll go ahead and mark it off knowing that
you're gonna use it now, because yeah, that as soon
as that popped up on my feed, I kind of
figured it was custom made for this specific segment.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Well, and I mean they're like lock your doors and
your windows, like I mean, that may just be an
obvious thing to me, but like obviously please like there
are monkeys on the loose.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yeah, but that's a cock that's a country thing. I mean,
this is we're dealing with, like rural South Carolina. So
a lot of people maybe don't have ac so you
leave the windows open, you leave the screen door open
all night. Usually you don't have to worry about adolescent
monkeys invading your property. Usually it's just your normal batch

(20:52):
of critters you're looking out for.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Well, it's even more terrifying.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Yeah, it's also it's also even more terrifying because this
is literally, well not literally, it's very similar to the
origin of twenty eight Days Later, the zombie movie. They
now in rural South Carolina instead of rural England. Yeah,
it in the movie, it was the primates had already

(21:18):
been infected. So first of all, here we're talking about
like young female monkeys, which also, let me note the
female monkeys that are causing all the trouble, just pointing,
pointing the details of the story.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Here one smart to escape.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Well, or the or the one male employee who left
the gate open for them all to escape. So point
the finger at your own discretion. I think there's a
multiple faults, multiple faults to find here. But I do
mention they claim no test had been done on these

(21:57):
monkeys so far. They were still young and getting a
lay of the land, touring the facilities, picking up slack.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Okay, well, I mean, isn't that what everyone would say
if if you had animals get loose from any facility.
Oh one haven't been tested. Like they're great, They're just
pristine conditions.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
I also love the headline that the police are using
thermal imaging cameras to try to track these guys. Just
you know, some little tiny town police chief is like, look,
I told y'all, I told y'all we would need these
night these night vision thermal binoculars. I told you this
would come in handy. I don't think he necessarily thought

(22:37):
he'd be chasing down adolescent escape gorillas or monkeys.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I see the monkeys just staring straight into the camera
and flipping it off, just being like.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Bye, yeah that I again what I was reading. Since
we've had a little time since the initial story came
out last week, I was reading. Now they've basically they've
captured like twenty five to thirty of them, but they
just keep hopping the fence, like between the facility and
the whatever land is next to it. They just they'll

(23:09):
hop the fence, come back to the facility for a
minute just to mess with the other monkeys, and then
they go back to the trees to go bed down
at night to avoid getting captured. So doesn't sound like
there's a whole lot of harm for any of the
local residence. It sounds like the monkeys now are just
having fun with a little bit of freedom.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah, and they know where their food source is, so
they're going to stay close. I mean, it's hard to
find new food, you know.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, I can't imagine the I can't imagine. The hinterlands
of South Carolina are probably a great place to raise
a family of monkeys. But what do I know. I've
never been. Yeah, I don't think I've ever been to
South Carolina. What else you got for me this week.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Okay. The other one that I have is, well, this
was viral and then I think it's come around full
circle at this point. But Jason Kelsey smashing that kid's
phone at that Penn State game.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Okay, our feeds are fairly in line this week because
I had that on my list as a potential one
as well.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
I mean, you could watch the older brother like kick
in whenever, like that guy was making fun of Taylor
Swift and like the dating and everything. A couple of
things karated that phone?

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Oh boy did he and then he picked it up
to make sure the kid wasn't even going to get
it back. After that, you mentioned the older brother kick in.
As an older brother watching that clip, I can sympathize.
I mean, it's as soon as he hears, because who
knows what the kid had been saying the whole walk

(24:41):
before we got the video recorded. Yea evident he was
clearing clearly and immediately as soon as he mentioned. I mean,
I know if someone had mentioned my little brother like that,
I probably would have been inclined to take similar action
in response.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Yeah, I wouldn't have taken too kindly to it, right.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
And I would hope, I wouldn't have repeated the hateful
word that he was called originally and then turned around
and called the kid the same thing, the other f word,
the same thing three times in the video that did
get released to the public. But yeah, you mentioned it's
kind of well. First of all, you mentioned he grabbed

(25:21):
the phone and spiked it while holding his beer. Not
only was he holding his beer, he was also holding
the twelve pack in the same hand as his beer,
and then grabbed the phone and spiked it with his
other hand. So, first of all, something I learned growing
up in rural Texas. If there's a guy at a
party holding a beer and holding his case of beer

(25:43):
with the same hand, he's doing that in case he
has to throw punches, avoid that man at all costs,
and certainly don't pick on his little brother, because I've
seen much worse happen to individuals for pestering a guy
holding beer like that.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah, did you also see like Chason Kelcey's like entourage
was all like smaller, tiny men like and then him
and they're all like whoa, well stop, and it's just
I don't know, he's just way bigger than anyone around him.
Including the guy who's antagonizing him, like it's just an
interesting choice.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Well, his other entourage were starting offensive linemen with the Eagles.
I don't know where Jason Kelcey is going to find
a batch of bodyguards that will match him or exceed
him in weight height ratio. But yeah, I mean what,
he's already apologized for it. He didn't. The only thing
he needed to apologize for was using the same hateful

(26:40):
word that the kid originally did, as far as smashing
the phone, like the kid had it coming. And if
it were back in pre cell phone times, the kid
would have absolutely gotten an ass whipping right there in
front of everybody. He would have been embarra It would
have embarrassed the hell out of him, and maybe he
actually would have learned something instead of playing the victim

(27:02):
and oh, Jason Kelsey smashed my cell phone.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
All yeah, I mean I don't disagree like that, and
just following him around and just yelling at him, and like,
I mean again, like Trav he's or Jason stands out
in a crowd like.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Hey, he's an easy target.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Yeah, and that's like that's even that's even worse about
the whole thing to me, but yeah, those are my two.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Did that bring one more question? Uh?

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Why is it such a line of attack that his
brother is dating the biggest musical musician in the world.
Why is that the line? I don't I don't even
understand the basis, just because the kid hates Taylor Swift
or doesn't enjoy her type of music. So that's a
put down like Jason Travis Kelcey is dating are I mean,

(27:52):
he's gonna end up having multiple songs written about him
before too long, But at least for now he's from
a dude's perspective, that's pretty impressive.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, don't see how you really go wrong there either.
But yeah, that guy just seemed like he was gonna
I don't know, he just was an angry man or something.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
I think he got what he wanted out of the exchange.
At the end of it, he got exactly what he wanted. Yeah, yeah,
for sure. Uh well, okay, you had two on your
lists that I was contemplating, So this makes my list
a little easier to a little easier to decide on
what to go with. One story I knew I had

(28:33):
to cover, had to bring to the table. That was
the uiw receiver's touchdown celebration. Apologies Jalen if I get
your name wrong. Jalen walfele touchdown celebration last week for
UIW inspired from the old movie Stomp the Yard, and
very rarely do FCS football celebrations go viral the way

(28:58):
his did. I mean you had an in less than
twenty four hours after he did the celebration, you had
multiple NFL receivers copying it. You saw the Lions. I'm
on Saint Brown copy it, the Falcons. Drake London copied it.
Drake London's could use a little work, as Jalen even

(29:20):
mentioned himself in an interview he did this week with
some local some local media. But the worst part of
the whole story, Jalen got flagged for it in the
UIW game. None of the NFL players got flagged.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Well, just to make sure, like, it's when he stands
on his head that's correct.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yes, it's the ok, Yeah, it's the uh. He does
a complete headstand. It's the old. It's a break dancing move.
He does the old unlike the Australian chick at the Olympics.
He actually pulls off a headstand and then rolls into
like a front roll, you know, Front Summer summerset Salt
Salt summersets the city. It's one of the two who

(30:01):
go with me, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Yeah, No, it's crazy that he got flagged in the
NFL players didn't. But I mean that's really cool that,
like it's a UIW like kid that everybody's copying.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
And not just that, I mean he's he's a stud.
Even not to make this, not to turn this into
a sports segment, but it's usually what I do. I mean,
he's got eight hundred and something receiving yards twelve touchdowns
this year. And I know we don't talk a whole
lot of UIW on the program here. I try to
try to keep it d one for the most part.

(30:35):
But they are top ten in FCS and hopefully make
a deep playoff run. I'm sure you can't wait to
break down the tape from their matchup with Lamar this
past weekend.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Yeah no, I did not realize they played Lamar this
past weekend. So go UIW.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
There it is, Go UIW, Go jalen walthele and go
stomp the yard. Lastly, this is one I thought you
might bring to the table because I had it with
a question mark on my list because I didn't know
if you would bring it up. Does the name Brionna
Chicken Fry mean anything to you?

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Okay? Yeah, and I saw this coming back up, but
like it happened a while ago, and I wasn't sure
exactly why she in that story was back in the news.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Yeah. I kind of remembered when you told me initially
the news that her and Zach Bryan had broke up.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
That he broke up with her on an Instagram story.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
A minor detail. Minor detail. He apparently they had already
been broke up and that was That was him just
announcing to everybody because everyone has to. Everyone has to
make a formal announcement for the public of anything they do.
Zach Bryan, I'm about to go take a dump. Here's
a formal announcement in an Instagram story.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
I mean, if you need that much attention, I guess.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Uh, bingo, you're catching my satire here. Yeah, do a
video anytime you're any Just throw a video out there.
It drives me crazy. Uh if you can't tell it
drives me crazy. No, I remember, you know I'm not
a Barstool Daily listener. But every now and then a uh,

(32:14):
you know, pardon my take clip will hit my timeline.
I like big Cat, I like PMT. Brianna chicken Fry
is not a personality that I was familiar with in
the slightest and the fact that someone is out there
with the moniker Brianna chicken Fry, that part, I kind
of love that part to me. If you can reach

(32:37):
the levels of fame that she has with the nickname
or the you know, media name, Brianna chicken Fry, I'm
in on that. That sounds like someone I want to
party with. Apparently she turned down, and this is only
from her side of the story. She claims she turned
down a twelve million dollar in da Zach Bryan tried

(33:01):
to get her to sign an NDA, give her twelve
million dollars, give her a house, give her a New
York City apartment, all to prevent her from talking about
their relationship.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Oh so that's why she's back.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
That's why she's doing because she also hosts the podcast
with the Barstool l Presidente de Portnoy.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Yeah, world's colliding.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Yes, So she chose from her side, she chose to
turn down twelve million dollars and a couple of house
houses slash apartments to be able to tell her side
of the story on the podcast on.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
The Barstool podcast.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
On the Barstool podcast and have all of the Barstool
audience come to her defense or at least have the
opportunity to get them to rally around her, which I
I guess without knowing too much, that feels kind of
like world's colliding of your average Zach Bryan fan, probably

(34:01):
being a pretty big if he's a sports fan, probably
being a pretty big Barstool guy, and now Brionna Chicken Fry,
that's just still absurd to say out loud. Yeah, we'll
call her Bri. Now Brie is going on her Barstool
podcast telling the story about how terrible of a guy

(34:21):
Zack Bryan is when you probably you probably liked both
of them while they were dating, and it feels like
now there's absolutely a draw a line being drawn in
the sand between the two of them, because who would
have guessed, First of all, who would have guessed that
the guy that wrote such sad, depressing Americana country music

(34:42):
would also kind of be a guy maybe with some
problems and maybe maybe with some of the mental problems
he talks about in his songs. Who could have ever
guessed that?

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yeah, I mean that's probably all fair and true. And
I don't know. I mean, like you said, I didn't
know anything about her other than she was dating him,
and now knowing that she's on barstool, maybe she has
a bigger following than I thought. Maybe she's hoping for
endorsements to make more than that twelve million or whatever.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
That NBA with a lot of money to cover it.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Yeah, But I mean, I guess he would own the
story still, So I don't know. I don't know. Yeah,
it's interesting. I didn't realize all that and the barstool connection,
that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah, I guess you could talk me into you know,
you can't put a value on owning your side of
the story.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
Ye ask Taylor about it, Taylor Swift, Well, what's that
time you know she's re recording?

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah, because the homeboy owned all of our masters back
to my Okay, I see what you're doing there, I
see what you're doing now. I mean, I'm sure there
was emotional abuse in the relationship. That's not hard for
me to deduce that probably happened. But I also I

(35:57):
don't know, it doesn't feel like there's a lot of
but the probably going either way at the end of this,
because if you turn down the money and then just
immediately try to make money off of promoting your side
of the story, that's kind of where I lose the
sympathetic ear that might have been there. It's all the same.
You're just trying to get the money from other people,

(36:19):
not from him, which I can understand why you would
not want it from him, but then you're turning around
and trying to profit off of it anyway. So it
doesn't feel like they're it just it kind of feels
like maybe two emotionally broken people coming off a breakup
in a very public way, in a very public way.
You mentioned he did it on Instagram story. Mm hmm, yeah,

(36:43):
you know I have an Instagram now.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Yeah, you do have an Instagram now.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Just saying if if there ever were any reason for
me to put out my first Instagram story, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
It's what your handle is, Biggest dot Puma.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Yes, thank you. Please promote it for me, Biggest Dot
Pumo so you can see. As soon as anything happens
of magnitude in my life like that, I will make
sure to put it out on an Instagram.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Story and then everyone can know.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I was also reading some of the other details of
the relationship, apparently the first time, Like when they had
initially broke up. There's some app where it's basically like
Celebrity Tender, where you have to be verified of a
certain status to even be allowed on the app in
the first place, And apparently he was already trying hitting

(37:35):
up other celebrities on the app the couple days after,
if not the day after that they had broke up.
Not to mention the he was dming girls on Instagram
right literally hours after he posted the story that you're
talking about announcing the breakup, he was already instagramming other

(37:57):
girls being like, Hey, you know, I want to see you,
but you can't say anything. It would really it would
really mess things up for me. I'm trusting you here.
You got to you gotta keep this quiet, you gotta
keep this under wrap. So again, I'm sure she'd there's
some sympathy for her throughout this whole story, but it's

(38:17):
hard to keep the sympathy when you're just going on
your own podcast to try to profit off of it.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeah, there's usually empathy for both sides honestly, Like a
breakup is usually always hard, and they were together for
a year, and the way it all went down, even
if it was terrible within the relationship whatever, Yeah, I
think you're right, like two people trying to heal but
not doing it maybe in the best way. Well, in
as sad as in so public.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
As sad as his music is, I can't imagine what
being around him for a year would be like. It
would be a lot of fun, a lot of partying,
and then probably a lot of just rock bottom nights
of emotional abuse. As she claims, that's not hard for
me to understand. A little something that is a little

(39:02):
hard for me to understand. He played he sells out
NFL stadiums, but doesn't get played on country radio. That
part I kind of like, I kind of like to
see an artist that isn't getting the full weight of
the marketing big marketing machine and is actually being driven.
I mean, half the songs that he's released he wrote

(39:24):
while he was still enlisted in the Navy. Like he's
got a cool story. And I mean, I've told you
before I as many people started becoming such big fans
so fast, that's something that initially makes me go, Okay,
I want no part of that. This it can't be
that good. It's pretty good, it's pretty good. But I

(39:47):
don't know if I can ever forgive him for the
way he did Brianna chicken Fry dirty like this.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
I mean, I don't know. I think he's I think
he's good. I think he's talented at what he does
for sure. It's kind of like, I don't know. I
still eat the chicken at Chick fil A's.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Yes, separate the art from the artist. I mean, except
for Chris Brown.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
That was pretty crappy what he did, But I'm still
going to listen to his stuff, probably more than Brionna
chicken Fry. Sorry girl.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, it's not like he kicked a pregnant woman out
of a moving vehicle.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Oh yeah, See there are lines.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
There are lines again, separate the artists from the art,
or the art from the artist, unless it's Chris Brown.
So there's our four. I ask you, did I swear
you or are you convinced that one of your two
stories won the Internet?

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Actually? I really like the uiw headstand guy. I didn't
even think about him, but then you brought it up.
And then everybody's copying him, and I don't know, that's
pretty cool. I kind of like him.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
I kind of like it too, And I'm glad you
went I'm glad you went that way because we don't
talk a lot of FCS football on the program. But
when you have multiple NFL wide receiver is imitating his,
you know, a UIW touchdown celebration less than a day later,
that's how you know. That's how you know. It hit

(41:08):
the you know, firm center of the cultural zeitgeist. Viral.
He did go viral in the best way possible. Well
you have it. We talked to UIW football Jalen Walthall.
You have won the internet, much fanfare, much applause. Oh actually,
uh hold that thought. Oh oh what about that? How

(41:34):
about that? Starting to get a little dangerous with these buttons.
You might hear some increased production value. I'm not sure
it's actually increased production value, but you're gonna hear some
increased production elements as we start to get a little
more serious about this thing. That will do it for
another week. Although slightly belated putting this out now on Monday,

(41:57):
which means all of the openings segment content, we'll be
completely out of date, but just bear with me. We'll
put another episode out here in a little bit for
our normal Monday, with full Cowboys recap, full NFL recap
from this past Sunday as well, also a little Spurs
talk because we got to talk Spurs from over the weekend.

(42:18):
So till then, peace onto the next happy kids. What
do we say about drugs?

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Yeah,
