Speaker 1 (00:00):
Light be lie be light be light be oh light
the beam.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Indeed lighting the beam only once this week as we
settle in for the Wednesday edition of the Sports Cave
with Biggest Puma a Cowboys victory Wednesday that we will
cover at great length because the season is now turn No,
I'm kidding, I can't. I can't even fake myself into
(00:34):
getting hyped about that when Monday night we will of
course talk about it though broadcasting live here on the
North side of San Antonio. I am your host, Sam Freeze,
along with Cap himself in the room, enjoying our new
digs that we have broken in a couple times now.
Still getting used to everything, Still getting used to having
(00:57):
to bring my own headphones. Thankfully l G had a
pair this week. I could snag.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
It's the one thing I could leave here without him
bitching at me. What the headphones?
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah No, just get just get used to that because
it's never gonna end of course. LG in the other room,
steering the ship where on this International Men's Day, November nineteenth.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
National Men's Yeah, Men's Day, not MENSA, which none of
us may be. LG's a member of MENSA. It's mean dad, Yeah, uh.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Not recognized by the United Nations. International Women's Day recognized. Hey,
International Men's Day not so much.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Not so much. Here's the feminism there, gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
More importantly, we are twenty seven days away from the
prestigious Emmirates NBA Cup Final, where unfortunately the Spurs finally
dropped a game in group play last Friday, losing back
to back games to the Warriors, one of those being
an NBA Cup game. We got Spurs notes we'll get
(02:07):
to before we talk football. We've only doing one show
this week for different scheduling reasons.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
And different Those numbers up, man, those are rookie numbers.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Well, we we had an idea of planned for Monday night.
But I'll get into what happened there here in the
weekend recap. I want to say it's also National Play
Monopoly Day. I don't know if I wonder if Parker
Brothers really bought that.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Do you know what year?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I looked this up earlier, but I want to double
check now that I'm thinking I didn't write it down.
Do you know what year Monopoly came out? What year
they started propagandizing Americans into the ideas well, putting your
neighbors out of business through bankruptcy.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
In the railroad. Oh wait, the railroad. So yeah, nineteen
tw I'm going with nineteen twelve.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
That's a good guess. I don't remember it being that old.
I think it was the thirties. It was nineteen thirty five.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Now, did you know that Parker Brothers also made shotguns
and other ohs firearms? Yes? Fun, I got to pass
down a nineteen twenty or thirty shot Parker Brothers shotgun.
I don't know how much it is.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I was about say, have you ever looked up what
that would actually be worth?
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Holy hell?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
They Okay, I didn't. I didn't know any of this.
Screw the run sheet. We're going down to Parker Brothers Wikipedia, wormhole.
They produced mostly shotguns from eighteen sixty seven to nineteen
forty two. Yeah, what was the abrupt shift to go
from shotguns to board games?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Winchester? Maybe?
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Oh my goodness, Okay, I've got a I've got.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
A new one by side Parker Brothers. But like the
thing with it, like they redid the stock on it,
so it's like an updated stock, so it's not an original,
but the barrels and part of the other pieces original,
So I think that took away of value. I think
we clocked it around like seven thousand dollars. That's still
(04:20):
but it's like has the original bag that's falling apart
and like the originally that the Brothers logo and everything.
It was just like one of those crazy things where
I'm like Parker Brothers. The board game made guns. I
mean everybody made guns.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I was about to say, I think you could probably
trace majority of American companies from that era. They probably
made at least one line of guns. I buried the lead.
Though tonight our only show of the week.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
It is a bit of.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
A milestone episode. Uh oh, in a good way. In
a good way was that September ninth of last year,
before I had before LG was an available assistant, a
part of a program that before I could have him
(05:15):
back with me before. I'm treading lightly because I fucked
the urge for two days to fire back, and I
haven't said a word as I was just doing it solo.
I had just bought the I had just my old
man shout out to Papa Georgio. He had just bought
(05:37):
the roadcaster for me to start the podcast on my own,
to do it, you know from the house there. Last September.
September ninth was episode one of last year. It was
titled first Cowboys Victory Monday of the season. Little did
I know that would end up being McCarthy final season
(06:01):
and it wouldn't be worth celebrating any Cowboy victories. Tonight,
November what's today? November nineteenth, twenty twenty five. It only
took a year and two months, but we have officially
hit one hundred episodes episodes. This is number one hundred
(06:22):
of the entire operation. I need to look at specifically
what number it is with the three of us since
we started back in April right there around the Final four. Yeah,
I remember, like the second week we were doing it.
It was the Final four in town, so I would think,
(06:43):
I think.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
What was it, March twenty ninth, March thirty.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
At least half of that one hundred is the three
of us. I need to look up exact numbers. But tonight,
nothing special, of course I didn't. I mean, it's gonna, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Graphics for one hundred episode there, h LG.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Well no, but you know what graphics he does have.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
He has that nice little beer mug that that LG.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Before we get any further, and before I ramble more
about one hundred episodes, I could go through each one
of them. We could pull a clip from all. That
could be the whole show.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Now, LG.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Tell the good people how they can support the program.
And what that little beer Steyn there is.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Sure, that's the tip jar, that's the tip Steinn if
you will, Yeah, so you can throw just your tip
in there by hitting the super chat and then also
if you need to, if you have not subscribed to
this show, you can subscribe to and it'll drop your
profile picture in there.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I think, oh yes, as well.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
We can stack chips and profile pictures very nice.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
YEP members get to do cool little emojis like Greg
over there with the Cowboys star Hey cowboy.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Hey where look this is this is one week where
you can proudly proclaim your Cowboys fandom. As I was
over the weekend, I was talking with my uncle. I
actually fired up the roommate's traveling again this week. So
I was firing up GTA online because there's a new
(08:15):
update coming out.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I was playing with him a little bit, and the.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
The amount of the amount I would I won't call it.
It's not Cowboys nihilism like I have, where it's just
feeling like it's never going it's never going to be
good again. That's the nihilism I carry around with me.
He reminded me.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
That his childhood as a kid was Roger Staubach and
the you know, America's team. The first time I got
a cat hair on the tip of my hut, you know,
first time in the seventies, and then that's correct, Yeah, hey,
that place, I didn't even have to mark that the
and then he had the nineties triple.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
So you know, his level of nihilism is more of
a acceptance of just how things are now, but can
at least still remember some levels of success for this organization.
And I like thinking about his kids are seniors in
high school right now, so I mean they what was
(09:22):
that reverse math here? They're eighteen now, so like mid
aut like two thousand and seven being born.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
The only thing they know of any.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Cowboys history or lore is from his mouth and not
what they see every Sunday. So like, if you're under thirty,
celebrate the hell out of that win over the Raiders,
is what I'm trying to say in a long winded.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
What everybody wants to know is why CD and Pickens
started the first drive on the bench. Have you seen
any of the rumors yet?
Speaker 2 (09:56):
We're gonna get into cow notes, but there's been so many,
you know, fake stories posted suggesting like CD was seen
on casino cameras throwing up at seven thirty in the
morning Monday morning as they were going back to their room.
I don't think that one's true, but I've had plenty
sent to.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Me that would leak, that would definitely, oh for sure,
somewhere for sure.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Socials, Well, let's jump into it because we I mean
only doing one show this week. We have we've got
a recap the football weekend. We've got to get our
picks in. Somebody had a good weekend picks last week.
We'll talk about that. But as always, we start first
show of the week, we start with a little weekend recap,
even though it is a Cowboys victory Wednesday show.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
LG.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Go ahead, let's get it out of the way. Go
ahead and throw that picture up that I sent you.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
I have.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Finally, there's a great episode of Community where it's.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Troy and Aubed.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Troy's got a giant cookie, you know, like one of
those cookie cakes, and the whole episode he's just slowly
eating more and more of the cookie yeah, and then
at the end, of course he ends up with a
you know, stomach ache, but you know sour stomach because
he ate an entire cookie cake.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
And the whole metaphor the whole.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Analogy is, uh, Troy and Abed don't need to be
roommates because too much of a good thing is a
bad thing, you know, creating that separation. That face right
there holding a ginormous bag of popcorn, so we went
got our weekends.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
If you can find a man that loves that popcorn
as much as Puma, that smile is off the love
that popcorn, that smile is that is real.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
That is real love right there. And to the point
of like someone who doesn't take a lot of pictures,
this was me telling the roommate, no, no, no, I need
a picture of this one because they hooked it up.
They gave us three and a half tubsworth in this
bag because now we're regulars with them.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
How many butter squirts We don't want to know. I mean,
are we talking one pump? No? No, each each bucket's
getting later three pumps you get no, we got we
got multiple violations, uh for for excessive pumps. I mean
you're half.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
A dozen for each tub, so literally eighteen over over
twenty pumps of butter in that.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
J Yeah, two full sticks of butter in that bag. Oh,
there's no question. There's no question. That was me.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Saturday afternoon, as we were I was getting ready. I
just we had just watched, uh, the first half of
A and M South Carolina, and I was like, oh, okay,
we can run to the movie theater and get our popcorn.
Now this is a thirty to three game at.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Halftime, little was over.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Little did I know the Aggies would have their biggest
comeback ever in the second half. So we went and
grabbed all this popcorn and then normal went home, watched
some football, was eating popcorn, ended up leaving to go
watch the Texas game out in the wild, which I
got to speak, I've got a wild story about that.
(13:11):
I want to get y'all's opinion on if I'm the
a hole in this scenario. But ended up come Sunday,
had full seven hours of afternoon Sunday football with no
Cowboys spectacular ate, A lot of popcorn we had thrown
around the idea because Tuesday Thursdays are booked up this week.
(13:34):
LG had LG was running camera at the Mexico game
last night in the Alamo Dome, and he's got the
Spurs game tomorrow night, so we already knew we were
gonna have to move some stuff around.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
They allowed two pumps, they did, they did.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
They also, LG told me they also.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Did two mornings and they were gonna stop on the third.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, they had to flash that sign up there. Anytime
Mexico's losing in a game, you just know you're gonna
you know.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
LG's all for it. He's like, it's tradition, an argument.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
That there's some there's some level of argument to be
made about that. I am just saying ojay uh, but no,
So we end up watching football all day Sunday. We
had thrown around the idea of the three of us
doing a Monday night watch party for the Cowboys. What's
that since we since we didn't we weren't gonna be
(14:28):
able to squeeze two shows in, let's let's at least
do a watch party Monday night. I was getting ready
to promote it Sunday, and then about five o'clock hit
on Sunday, and I realized, so as I said, the
roommate's traveling again, she left for the airport. I didn't
(14:50):
have a whole lot to eat at the house, so
I just kept eating popcorn.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Did you refrigerate it? No?
Speaker 2 (14:58):
No, no, you know butter goes No, that's a wiseelt.
Butter doesn't go bad. It goes rancid. It doesn't do anything.
It doesn't cause you harm. One would say a thing
that's just rancid is just flavor based. It doesn't go
I grew.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Up so it doesn't grow bacteria.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I grew up with butter on the countertop at all times.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Like it.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
You leave butter out on the counter so you get soft, spreadable.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
But isn't that like with the like a cap where
they'd like so no air gets to it. This is
in a ziploc bag. It's zipped up plastic.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Micro Besides the fact that microplastics are shrinking our taints,
which is a true that is scientific fact, Like that
is go down that the area go down that wormhole,
because that's scientifically true.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Do I want a larger taint? Yes, science, you.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Want a normal sized one. I don't know if larger
is the way to look at it. But it's like
a smaller taint, more preferred. It has a lot to
do with like testosterone levels. It's like microplastics are killing
us all slowly, my generation.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
He must work out look at the big brains on
brad H. So yeah, long story short, I was as
soon as Steph left, I ate the rest of that
popcorn and was absolutely worth the experience that hit me
at about four am Monday morning. I would not wish
(16:33):
that on my biggest I don't have a lot of enemies.
I would not wish that on any other human in general.
I would I hope Polepot didn't have the kind of
bowel movement.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
You're gonna have to. You're gonna have to apologize the
Mama cap because someone was supposed to go up on Monday,
Oh no visit, but I said, no, we're doing a
show on Monday. We can't do it. Oh no, And
then long behold, He's like, I didn't hear it. I
didn't see his show.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Yeah, I'm sorry, explain, just explain the player this whole clip.
Explained to her that I ate three and a half
tubs of popcorn.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
And she said it sounds like something you would do.
And I was like, yeah, a lot of thatmate, right
now is like the depth in the amount that was
that was what two shows ago when you see me
just uncomfortable, Oh yeah you were. You were literally on
that too much, flax man. I was like, if this
(17:33):
is bloating what girls go through every month, this is horrible.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I hear it's bad. I hear it's bad. Before we
get too much further behind it, I do want to
ask you, uh so Saturday when we went out to
go watch I don't like watching the Cowboys in public,
but I don't mind watching Texas. It's I'm not as
especially this year when it's you know it was they're
pretty much out of it. They have to run the
(17:58):
table with Georgia and A and them still on the
schedule for it wasn't happening.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
They got a scrap and one person got I don't
know if he got choked out tripped and fell and
knocked out, but out cold, because no way a three
loss team can go into the gym. And he's like, no,
if we beat A and M and we run the
we run the rest of the table. Look, we can
get the last seed.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
If they had kept it close against Georgia. Your buddy
defending three lost Texas might have had a chance to
win that argument. I don't think it's happening now. So
Sunday we go out to watch the game. It's packed
or Saturday, I mean it's packed. Everyone's uh obviously you
know you had A and M Oklahoma and Texas playing
(18:44):
Boom boom boom tripleheader. Bars were busy Saturday. So we
get there, find one parking spot in a giant parking
lot right and it's like two spots from the front door,
so it's prime parking. And I'm just you know, licking
my chocks, thinking like this is this is the good
(19:05):
Lord telling me I need to get Yeah, like it's
it's all coming up sam or.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Real fast and I have to do a walk of
shame one or the other.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
So I'm pulling into the spot and as I start
to go, you know, nose in be cause I normally
I'm a back end parking guy, but I was going
nose in because I wanted to make sure I got
it before anyone else. As soon as I go in,
I noticed there's a guy sitting on the uh curb,
well not the curb but like the tire stopper, Yeah,
you know, like the little divider there, he's sitting on it.
(19:39):
As soon as he sees me start to come in,
he jumps.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Up starts waving or not. I don't care that game.
I don't either, and I quickly told him. I rolled
down the window. I was like, hey, man, move and.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
He's like no, no, no, I'm saving a spot. I was like, dude,
it's not Junior High cafeteria lunch, Like, no, like move,
you got to get out of here. And so immediately
he picks up his phone and starts calling somebody like
what the.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Owner the bar or something. Just wait.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
So there's again like I'm glad I didn't get more
angry with the guy, yeah, because it would have made
me look even worse in.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
The long run elderly people. So I park.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
I tell the guy. I was like, dude, you're gonna
get run over. I'm not stopping like I'm and so
I'm like just slowly moving into the spot as he
is like holding like he's it's like he's gonna take
a charge. And then he takes a step back as
I get a little closer, and then he does it again.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I'm like, dude, like, move, get out of here, gost
you lost it. You're not winning this, Like I'm in
a two ton.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
And a half, however heavy a forerunner is. I'm in
a motorized vehicle. You're not going to win this battle.
Like It's like when you see like, uh, you know,
like three protesters trying to block a highway.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
It's like, you, that's not how we win this. The
car wins the battle ninety nine point nine percent of
the time, whether if even if I agree with you,
you're not You're not doing anything to further the cause
right now.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
So eventually he gives up. He's on the phone the
whole time, and then I hear him. Someone yells Brian
or Jason, some generic white guy name yells, and he
looks over, and so he walks over, meets the guy
and it's obviously very obvious they're related. They're brothers, okay,
(21:33):
And so in my head I think, oh, he was
trying to save a spot for his brother. His brother
found parking. Everyone's fine. Crisis averted, right, So we get
out of the car and start to go walking into
the bar, and right as we're hitting the front door,
an old man comes like had parked around the corner
and comes walking around the side of the bar.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
And I kind of think to myself.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
I was like, hmm, I wonder if that's related, but
kept walking in didn't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Get to the bar, we're ordering our drinks.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
As we're waiting in line, I turn around and I
see it's the two brothers and that's their dad. He
was trying to save a spot for his elderly father
who's decked out in ut gear. They were very clearly
coming meeting up to watch the game together.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
He doesn't have a cane, he doesn't have a walker, dude, no,
and he.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Was wearing like stylish, like seventies Nike running shoes like
he's good effort.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Like, nah, I'm still not playing that game. Okay, so
I'm not. I'm not crazy for nah, Like I mean,
if the guy came to you is like, look, I
got my old man, that's what I'm here. He's got
a bad hip. Told me like I would have thrown
them five dollars if I was doing something like that.
You gotta get more than just I'm gonna muscle up
on this, like nah, see that. I've had girls go
(22:56):
all out conniption fit, and I sat there and I
was like like, look, I'm just gonna park in front
of this spot in the middle of the road, and
I'm gonna walk in there, and the owner is gonna
ask me why are you parked in the middle of
the road, and I'll be there's a crazy girl there. Hey,
one of your patrons is losing melting down. I've done that.
(23:18):
And she literally was like crying when I came back
out to put my car in the parking spot because
the guys like, can you please move so we can
park and stop blocking the whole road, And I'm like
looking at her like and she's like, I'm just like
stop it, stop, just stop. I was like, you didn't
get the parking spot.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Also, if if you're not in good enough condition to
park further away and walk in, you don't need to
be at a bar to begin with, you don't need.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
To be a standing room only bar, right exactly.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Like it's packed for Saturday college football.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah I did.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I felt as soon as I saw it was for
their dad, you know, the the the.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
And been like, sorry they didn't tell me it was
for you, See, that would have been a better move.
But I'm not as good a person as you are,
because all I did was sit there and stew and
guilt slash anger. I felt guilty, but also it's like,
it's your son's fault because he didn't tell me what
it was for. And now I look like the a
hole and I can hear him back there, you know,
(24:22):
I can't hear what they're saying, but I'm assured in
my head it's about us and about stealing the parking spot.
The many of times that the panic in the wife's
face and the wife's you gotta put your blinker on,
put your blinker on, put you I'm like, I'm going
to get the spot. I don't give a I don't
care if I got a blinker on or not. I'm
(24:44):
going to pull in there. It's happening, you know. But
this person put a blinker on way over there, so
that means it's theirs. And I'm like, nor does That's
not how that works. No, it's like it's not first
c it's like first to get to it, gets it.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
I will say, though, when you have your blinker on
and you're waiting and then the person acts out the
wrong way and blocks you and allows someone else to
get in there. That infuriates me, and it's it's like,
then I'm mad at two people. I'm not just mad
at the person that stole the spot. I'm mad at
the idiot that backed out, because what do you want
(25:16):
me to do?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I have to go this way. My house is this way,
like you could have gone a courtesy, but no, no,
well good.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
I don't feel as bad about my decisions then, because
stuff was. The roommate was laying it on pretty thick
that I was that. I now, of course he was,
because she could tell it was bothering.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Me, Like the the oldest son.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
I was imagining me and my little brother meeting up,
like convincing dad to come out when he's this dude
was probably mid seventies, pushing eighty.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
You know, I was just thinking about, like, one of
these days, that's gonna be me trying to save that
spot for my dad, and it's gonna go about as
well as it probably did for this guy. Let's get
into it, because we've got a lot to get to tonight. Obviously,
market mark in at eight thirty one. Let's do some
spurs notes. Shall we mentioned? Uh, since we were last
(26:17):
in the room, they dropped the game. I think we
did a show last Thursday. They had already lost on
Wednesday night to the Warriors. It was deja vu Friday night,
but it.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Took too How was that not a dunk with points Draymond?
The windy dunk over Draymond? Yeah, like if the foul
occurred before the ball was inbounded, Like, so give me
this rule? Do they need to be in the bonus
to make it to where it's two shots and possession?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
So that that was my That was my biggest gripe
about it. Like I understood that you're not calling the
foul on the shot attempt, which was a successful dunk.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
I mean, right on.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
But yeah, so then if you say, well, the foul
occurred before the dunk, before Wimby got the ball, But
it's either exactly it's either that it's either the continuation
or the foul occurred while the ball was still in
the inbounder's hand, which should have been a technical one
(27:19):
shot and then you keep the ball right. So, like
I there were multiple questions of how that got officiated.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Do I think that would have changed the outcome? Absolutely?
I mean, of course that's what we're gonna go with Now, yeah,
we would have won that game.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
In hindsight, that's exactly. That's that's what separated the two
teams that moment right there. How much did you enjoy though,
just seeing Wimby and Draymond go back and forth.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Sick you're too small? What you just watch? And then
he does that right afterwards. Yeah, Like that's that's some
dog right there. Well, that is one thing I think,
as you know, thinking back to the nineties, early two thousands,
the you know, it always seemed that the euro European
(28:11):
player was tagged as soft just by default. Doesn't put
the body on the right a.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Voids contact is more, you know, Dirk seven foot shooting fadeaways.
It's just because he's soft, you know, finesse.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yeah, the you don't have to worry about that with
Wimby like that is that is full dog at all times.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Now, whether the body can hold up to that kind
of physical battle, because we did. That's also the game
where we saw Wimby. Granted it looked I think the
injury occurred on the weird Brandon Podzimp pod Zimski collision
where he kind of took his leg out a little
bit from rolling on the ground and so not only
(28:57):
do they lose that game, but we get the Wimby injury.
But I will say bright spots in the two losses
to the Warriors. It took old school Steph Curry masterclass games.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Not so much the first game because I think that
like it was just a lot of fouls calls, But
definitely the second game we saw vintage Curry. We saw
Olympic Curry. And can we see that seven games in
a playoff battle. I don't think he's got that in.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Them, no, and I do wonder how much of it.
So he wore the Mambacita Kobe's oh, because he's out
of his under Armour contract.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Now vitalized with the new Kicks.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
I just I think there potentially is some psychological boost
of feeling like a free man. Like obviously that relationship
went sour, like it wasn't like the contract expired and
they said thank you for helping build our brand. Like
clearly there was some kind of negotiations that went wrong
(29:58):
between him and under Armour. And so then he throws
on Kobe's and goes out and puts up back to
back forty something point games forty something point nights, and
I think those were that it was more of a
giant middle finger to under Armor than it was to
the Spurs.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
So let me get this right. When it comes to contracts,
it doesn't have to deal with He's a professional. He
should be performing at this level, no matter what it
could be. He got a motiva, a boost, a superhuman
style boost. But momentum is fake. Uh yeah, yeah, I guess.
(30:38):
I'm oh, you are as hypocrite at its fine as baby?
How how did it's a mentality? It's mentality. When you
have momentum, you get adrenaline, you get a doorphins, you
do things that you don't normally do. He got adrenaline
from wearing the Kobe's channeled his inner Kobe. And how
(31:00):
momentum through the whole game. Okay, I mean you're wrong,
but I see I do. I see where you're side
your mouth on this. Of course, this is one of
those I arrest my case judge.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
And the judge would say that's all circumstantial and there's
no connection. But that was a good argument. You presented
it well.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
I present I went no, I I don't know. I
think the.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
There's something to I think there's something to the old
guard guys like, uh, I mean we even kind of
saw it with the Rockets with Durant. Uh, you know, Curry,
some of these older veteran driven teams in the West.
Obviously everyone knows the Thunder are now the team to
be league wide and and they're a group of youngsters.
(31:51):
Now they're seeing the Spurs.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Can Kevin Durant stay healthy is the key?
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Can anyone stay healthy? We're going to talk about that
in a minute. The whole league is injured.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
I caught Steve Kerr's little comment on that one.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Yeah, we'll talk about that in a second. The Thunder
or already the dominant team in the league. The Spurs
are coming up with their youngsters. I think it there.
You're going to see Knights like this where guys like
Steph see this young Spurs team potentially passing them in
the NBA hierarchy sooner than they expected. Yea, and they're like, no, no, no, no,
(32:24):
y'all tamp down, youngins. We still got this for now,
Like this is still our window because they're still missing
our first pick in the draft. Oh yeah, no, the
Dylan Harper.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
You don't think that was like big, like because that
would have been energy to have him run around with
Curry and give Stephan Castle a break. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
I think, I mean, I think missing Dylan Harper Is
is obviously you're missing your fourth most talented player on
the roster. Now, whether he's not your fourth best contributor
or fourth best probably numbers wise, but in terms of
what he can give you a random knight exactly.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Give you twenty points every third, fourth game. But I
do think there's something to the Warriors seeing the Spurs
pass them potentially in the standings and being like no, no, no, no,
hold on, like y'all wait your turn.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
We've still we're making our run at the thunder like
it's y'all aren't passing us yet.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
They're they're the late two thousand and early twenty ten
Spurs right now, being like, we still got that's great,
we still got one in us.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
And on our best night we can beat anybody because
we still have a top three player in the world, Steph.
We still have the core nucleus of what made us great.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Yeah, that's a great, great coaching, Yeah, that's the coach
has been there, Like what is Steph? He's played fifteen
years a league, eleven years with Steve Kerr.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
You know, Kay Kerr has been there, that long, been there, that.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Long man's so like. It is such a omage to
a like like our Spurs history, dynasty time, you know.
And then the race the not Race for Sace, but
what was it Drive for five.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Drive for five? Yeah no, now it's the race for
Race for Sace.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
But what's say say something like that, I took five
years of French and I took five years of French
and I can't even count to six. Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
After the after the Warriors game, they did bounce back
with back to back wins, now over the Kings on
Sunday and then the Grizzlies last night.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
So the injuries, let's go ahead and get into them.
It's not good.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Wimby is being re evaluated in two to three weeks.
That doesn't mean he's back in two to three weeks
reevaluated with the left half strain. But the negative good
news m RI I negative news. Calf strains We've seen
with Kevin Durant in the playoffs, Tyrese Haliburton in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Calf strains are what lead to blown out achilles.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
So there's just like the Fox hamstring there's no chance
they rush like Wemby's taking more time, yeah than necessary
than coming back earlier, just this early in the.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Season during the Murties. Yeah, we need you for the
NBA Cup game, Murty's Cup, man, Come on, that's all
we need, just to take a you know, three weeks.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
So he's gonna miss the Portland game coming up. That's
an NBA Cup game. So what's up a Castle?
Speaker 1 (35:39):
The Castle one? He's being real.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
He got injured in the game on Sunday against the Kings.
Uh ended up not playing in the whole second half,
so he did play, so I didn't catch it. He
played the first half, got injured. It's a left hip
flexer strain. Yeah, you can you take a bad fall
or I think so.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
I can't remember the playoff top of my head, but
it was so explosive, like that's not good.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Yeah, and it you know, right on. What's the timeframe
on that one? Reevaluated in one to two weeks, so
potentially Castle back before Wimby, but both of them you're
looking at missing the next seven to ten games minimum.
Have we gotten report on Dylan Harper's.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Haven't seen anything substantial about anything. What the timetable or
when we're even expecting to see, uh, you know, see
any kind of because we haven't heard, you know, ramping
up in practice, we haven't. The most I've seen reported
(36:48):
was he's just continues progressing, progressing.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
He's no longer wearing the.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Walking boot, but he is still progressing through his recovery.
Which if you're not even giving me a timetable yet,
I think the.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Spurs are taking a page out of the Patriots. They're
not gonna give us anything obviously. Well and and even
if Fox, like we thought three five days, No, they told.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Us he would Fox and uh so Hand would only
miss two to three games to start the year, and
it was two to three weeks. So even when they
do tell you something, I'm not so Hand.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Yeah pro corn Rows or anti which one do you think? So?
Speaker 2 (37:32):
I like him, but I swear to god the first
game he was rocking them, I thought the Spurs had
signed Malik Beasley.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
I was, I was like for Michael Beasley, was like
Who's It was like who's number ten? Again? Yeah? Like
it was.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
He looked a lot like late era Michael Beasley.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
He looks he looks more intimidator style, like he's gonna
sit there and well he's already known to get in
between the scuffles. He's the later.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
But you know every team needs one, it will. So
now with the injuries and we saw sohn Uh you
know play well last night. I had potentially some coaching
benching coming back into the game after that. But this
is where you know, now with your second pick in
(38:21):
the draft, Dylan Harper out injured, with still a questionable timeline.
You know Castle is going to be most likely out
two weeks. You know Wimby's gonna be most likely out
three weeks. This is where having your one, your only
former All Star on the roster, de Aaron Fox, this
(38:43):
is where it is now, Like we need to see
the Sacramento d Aaron Fox. I need him to see
take over those fourth quarters big time.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
And that wind Meal dunk that was sick last night,
Winded to see if it was Daron Fox, I didn't
know you had those ups.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
That was that The timing of that dunk when the
game's in hand and.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Nineteen seconds left right like he could have he could
have backed it out, But that tells me exactly.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
I think that was a statement of I'm healthy I'm
ready to carry things like, let's like, that's that's again
talking about psychological bumps. That's a psychological bump for the
whole team, showing them like no, no, no, just because we're
still in, just because our guys out, just because our
you know, stud sophomore is out. Like this is why
you this is why you traded for me, This is
(39:32):
why you gave me the extension.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
I'm like it.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Also, Harrison Barnes last night, that was I mean the
Harrison Barnes taking over a game in the fourth quarter
in twenty twenty five. Things I didn't expect to see
but love.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
To see, get getting on the floor, getting dirty.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Yeah, and that's what it's gonna take now, you know,
as it's a you know this, you know, Fox Barnes
leading the way. Need to see more Vassil. Now you're
gonna get to Seymour Vassell the offensive initiator, not just
the spot up shooter. You're gonna have to see that obviously.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
You know.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Kelden is Kelden the constant coming off the bench. But
then so han uh you know Needing.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
Kelden's playing like man, he's playing physical man. When is
he not? Yeah, I mean, I haven't seen him play
this physical in ever. He's the most veteran person on
our team.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Outside of Harrison outside oh.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
No, like no, I mean, not veteran overall, but he's
the longest oh yeah Spurs totally. You know, he's the
longest tenured Spurs on our team. And he's like he is,
he's showing that he got tied by Pop. Yeah, we were.
I was just.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Talking to a dude last night.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
I had almost kind of forgot that Kelden has an
Olympic golden medal because of Pop Yeah included him on
that team because my buddy was talking about a place
he used to work at that Kilden would shop at.
It was like a vintage clothing, hipster story kind of deal,
and he said they joked with Kilden one day like hey,
(41:11):
bring that. It was right after the Olympics, like bring
that gold medal by, and he was like a yeah,
I bet bet. And then next time he came through,
he was just rocketed, like let them all where it's.
I was like, oh my god, I kinda that hadn't
you know, escape my mind. I'd kind of forgotten about that.
That's where you know, as you think about what what
(41:33):
this team's gonna look like with all the injuries. While
the guys are out last night is kind of the
recipe for success. It's gonna be ugly games. You gotta
clamp down on defense, and then you need timely fourth
quarter takeover scoring opportunists, opportunistic fourth quarters where if it's
(41:55):
a close game, just keep it close until the fourth
quarter and hope that one of your veterans takes over.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Like lacking that journeyman white boy that we got the
where's the soccer little headband? Oh yeah, he's making some
you know, you know, crafty plays down there. He's knowing
when to.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
He's also sneaky physical like sneaky like he'll body you.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
The guy that.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
You're playing pick up with at La Fitness, the guy
is instead of trying to block every shot, he's slapping
down trying to steal it from because going up.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Your arm, I feel like I'm seven ft tall? Is
this guy? Wait? Who are you? Are you? Who are
you right? I like that? I was.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
I was really happy when they when they got Olnic
because it does feel, uh like surprising levels of physicality
that might have been lacking on this roster. But I
think that's where you know, looking at the point going
to be hard to come by. It's just with your Castle,
I mean not just Castle's own scoring, but the way
(43:06):
he had increased his facilitating, the way he had turned
into more of a not just a playmaker for himself,
but for everyone else on the court, more of a distributor.
That was that's going to be sorely missed. So thinking
about how they win games going forward, it's going to
(43:28):
be a lot of defensive effort that potentially drives any wins.
And on that note, I saw this stat earlier today.
The Spurs when Wimby is on the court, are the
second best defensive team in the entire league. The only
one that's better Oklahoma City. Yeah, like most statistics, Oklahoma City.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Number one, and we might get that number one, But
with Wimby on the court. Without Wimby on the court,
the Spurs are twenty eighth. And it's not just a
difference in ranking. So when Wimby's on.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
The court, they give up one hundred and six and
a half points per one hundred possessions. So basically, just
think of it as standard metric. They give up one
hundred and six point five points when Wimby's on the court.
When he's not on the court, they give up one
hundred and twenty three and a half. It's a seventeen
(44:29):
point swing. For those that don't want to do the math,
that is quite drastic. Yeah, and so that's another name
we haven't mentioned, the other white big man, Luke Cornett.
Speaker 1 (44:41):
It's now going a lot.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Of the interior defensive responsibilities will fall to Cornett, which
early signs have been promising.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
But but he was getting I mean, we need like
we had castle ally open him and Rack He's just
sitting there just waiting for that law pass, which I
mean that's good, but we got to see that defensive
prowess and that's gonna be hard. Yeah, there's a there's
a lot of guys that are about to see he
definitely doesn't have the side to side movement as when no.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
No, no, the mobility is nowhere close.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Yeah, so we're gonna see these guys, like I mean,
I was looking at the schedule, Okay, yeah, we played
you know, we played two group plays back to I
know I did see that one of them Portland.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Who's the other one, Nuggets? Oh yeah, that's the big one.
Speaker 1 (45:29):
Wednesday, next Wednesday, next Friday, Man, I wish man if
we can get Dylan Harper back, I would feel a
lot better for that Friday.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
So just looking at it, so right now, we had
they said one to two weeks for Castle at the
beginning of this week. So jumping forward, uh, you know,
basically missing Hawks, Suns, Trailblazers, Nuggets, Yeah, and then timber Wolves.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
Those are all like if he's healing like a young
man should, hopefully they might stretch him to depends on
we win the Trailblazers.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
If we lose that one, he said, we're not even
going for the Cup. I don't even know if we're
going for the Cup anyways, But don't.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Run my hopes.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
Don't run my hopes of the first ever NBA Cup
championship for the Spurs. But after that, I mean, like
after the Nuggets, we got Minnesota Timberwolves, which they they
seem to be underperforming a little bit, but there's still
nine and five, which I think we can leap them
(46:38):
if we keep healthy. Yeah, I think, I mean every
as is the case.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Usually usually the mark is twenty games, like you get
about a quarter of away through an NBA season and
then you can kind of extrapolate out records.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
Of how teams are gonna finish.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
So I still think we're, you know, a week or
two basically early December, you pretty much know what everyone is.
So here in a week and a half, I think
you'll kind of have a better idea of where the
West is gonna stand for the next few months, pending
any trade deadline moves. But it's really you know, one
(47:19):
through eight, with the Warriors being the eight seed right now.
You know, those back to back wins over the Spurs
have kept them above five hundred.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
I mean, you're.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
Pretty much looking at I mean, I don't think the
only team out of any of them Thunder, Rockets, Nuggets, Lakers,
I think we're pretty solid.
Speaker 1 (47:41):
All four of those aren't gonna fall out of a
playoff spot.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Spurs, Timberwolves, Suns, Warriors. I think the only one that
probably if you were gonna say any of those teams
fall out of the top eight, the Suns.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Yeah, I don't consider them a playoff team at all
right now, even though they beat us. But here's here's
the problem. In order for the Suns to fall out of.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
A top eight spot, they'd have to be passed by
either the Trailblazers, Jazz or Clippers, who were all you
want to talk about a team underperforming, Clippers, Clippers are off.
Clippers and MAVs both have four wins each.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Right now, I see the Clippers turn. I mean, I
guess with all that Kawhi drama has even played this year.
I don't think so, right, I thought he did. I
thought he did at the beginning of the year. Yeah, yeah,
he might have. That's how much Clippers basketball I've watched.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
But yeah, no, he's definitely yeah, yeah, he's sidelined now,
but he was playing at the beginning of the year. Yeah,
because I whenever you said that, it shot my wheels off,
because they've just been so bad all year, and it was, uh,
it was. It's still shocking that we haven't heard anything
(49:05):
else from the NBA regarding Kawhi. With all of the
you know, investigation team a lot of money Pablo Tori
keeps cranking out. I think it was the Boston Globe
or Washington one of I didn't think it was. The
Wappo put out their own in depth investigative peace around
(49:28):
the Kawhi deal. We got more, Uncle Dennis.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
I think everybody's circling the wagons right now, the NBA,
MLB football about point shaving. Oh yeah, like NBA's got
one that got arrested. You know, we all know about
the MLB. I mean the college basketball kids. Yeah, the
(49:51):
college that's always been the thing. College. Yeah, that's nothing new.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Yeah, kawhis missed nine straight now, but he in their
first five.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
That's right. Uh.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
The only other thing I had on Spurs besides the injuries,
and besides that was the fact that LG is doing
the Spurs game tomorrow night against the Hawks, which is
why we're not doing a show. But more importantly, I
will keep reminding every time the Spurs play the Hawks.
(50:27):
Spurs still own the hawks first round draft pick this year,
So hopefully tomorrow night they can make it a three
game that's right. Hopefully they can make it a three
game winning streak as they take on.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
In Member Sports Cave. If you find LG and take it, yes,
take the picture, send it to us and we will
we will put it on here with loving remarks. The
closer you get it was just like where's Waldo or something? Yeah,
we definitely we did. We did a Where's I need to.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Give find me in the in the in the FBC somewhere.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
That's not a bad bit. I love it. We need
a sticker guy, Yeah, if you get a sticker on him,
look for LG. Yep.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Yeah, you want to do some cow notes before we
try to.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
We got a lot to get too much two shows
into one here in the main sege eight fifty six.
Let's do some cow notes.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
We're not hearing as much of that. No, I haven't
heard that pretty much at all.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Joe and Troy, we're talking about it on the broadcast. Yeah, yeah,
not getting nearly as much of the annoying.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
Here we go. Look, I'm not going I'm not.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Gonna sit here and try to tell you that the
season is turning around or salvaged based on the performance
Monday defense.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
I mean, the deepfense look good, but you're playing the Raiders.
I do think there is.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
In the NFL where the mark the differences between teams
is so thin, Like the fact, like when you saw,
like what happened when the Bills didn't weren't focused two
weeks ago they got blown out of the building by
the Miami Dolphins, who we were all saying, you know,
we're probably going to fire their coach.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
Well, because they gave their playmaker a chain who broke off,
you know, fifty yard runs on them, which I don't
under I don't understand why the Raiders aren't feeding gente.
I get them trying to get it into.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Burrow, not Burrow, but Brock Bowers.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
Bowers, But you got to get that man the ball.
Yeah what he had like three rushing attempts in the
first half. Yeah, yeah, I know. It's that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
You know who their offensive coordinator is, right, the former
Oregon coach Chip Kelly oh Man.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
That's so he's sitting there trying to do the air
raid offense. But I mean, everything goes through the run.
If you have a if you picked a running back
at six pick overall, which everybody said was a stretch,
and you don't sit there and focus on him in
the beginning of the game, when you get a three
and out, you get a strip fumble, like, I don't
(53:22):
know what you're doing. You know, Trey Tucker, he's not
that good. Like he had a he had an easy
back shoulder pass, but he goes and goes, goes post
towards the towards the safety and you're like, man, you
were in between them, just turn around on the back
shoulder and Gino Smith actually put a good ball on him.
(53:46):
But that killed me. The weirdest thing to me is
Pete Carroll. Pete Carroll has always been run the ball.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yeah, Like that was the you know, the whole let
Russ cook because people, Sattle fans were mad that they
were just handing the ball to Marshawn every time, like
which also was Brian Schottenheimer offensive coordinator at that time
in Seattle. Yeah, that one. It was really weird to me.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
The Raiders, what was Winer's Russ the best on play
action rollouts?
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Yeah, and then throwing deep over the top of defenses.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
Yeah, to locket, you know all this stuff. So I
know we don't have that mobile, that mobility, but Gino's
not a statue. You know, he can run the ball,
he can roll out, but you have to establish the run.
And I get it. Mario and Overshown. You got some
(54:41):
people back like the Quinn Johnson on there.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Oh yeah, Quinn Williams. Okay, let's talk. Let's talk specifically
about the defensive additions that because again, like in a
league where the margins are so thin. I agree with you,
Yes it was the Raiders, but also, oh, it's the
best the Cowboys defense has looked since Week one. Not
(55:05):
even close, right, But again.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Let's see they built a momentum moment.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Let's see if they can match the performance this week
as they play the Eagles, who ironically was who they
played week one when their defense only gave up twenty
points and it was like, h this, maybe life without
Micah won't be so bad.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
So the Quentin Williams trade, he.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Was, as advertised, a sack and a half on his
debut with the Cowboys Monday night. The you mentioned Tomarvian
Overshown back from injury. More importantly, wasn't like we had
heard all week. It was, you know, a pitch count
sort of for a baseball reference. You know you weren't
(55:49):
gonna see Overshown jump right back into the rotation. Well,
here's the snap count numbers. De Marvian Overshown played the
second most snapps of any Cowboys linebacker Monday night. The
guy that played the most snaps was the other guy
they traded for at the deadline.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Logan Wilson. Logan Wilson.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
So you had all of a sudden overnight. Going into
that game Monday night, Kenneth Murray Junior was playing more
snaps per game than any defensive player in the league.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
Think about that.
Speaker 2 (56:25):
As bad as this Cowboys defense has been, they haven't
even been willing to try anybody else. Yeah, that tells
you alone how bad that room is, how bad the
situation is. So get you trade for Logan Wilson, who
the Bengals didn't want. You get overshown back. Wilson plays
(56:45):
thirty four snaps, overshown play thirty one. Shamar James played
twenty six, and Kenneth Murray also twenty six, So technically,
you know, Kenneth Murray went from playing the most snaps
of anybody in the league to being tied for the
third most among the linebacker group. I think, as long
as overshown stays healthy, this is the This is the
(57:09):
closest I think you're gonna see, like the.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
Twenty first best defense in the league from twenty nine
or from thirty first to twenty first. I mean, yeah,
that's that's like. I will take that. I will take that.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
That at least keeps them in games, that at least
gives the offense a chance to steal games, which is
what they're going to have to do the.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
Rest to get on the Raiders. I do agree with
you Greg that you know, I know Gent's point of contact.
He only has the least in the NFL, like it's
like one point three yards. Yeah before Kyle's whole line
is crap. Yeah, but you Kyle Shanahan says it best.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
He didn't say it, but the teammates said, he will
call a play that he knows isn't going to do
anything to set, but seending up another play. So this
is where you're playing chess, not checkers. But you never
know with the guy like that, which they haven't even
introduced him in the past game. He wasn't a pass
catcher in boise He was mainly a runner because it
(58:10):
is Boisey. I get it. But you gotta break him
ount on some screens. You got to sit there and
throw them some swing passes. You got to see if
he can go up the middle and actually catch the ball.
And who here has watched the Raiders practice or listen
to a Raiders Yeah no, nobody, But I mean you
everybody knows that you're not gonna do that. You gotta
(58:33):
do what she normally don't do. When you are two
wins in into almost a nine game season.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
You know what that looked like Monday night? As you
describe that thinking about it, it looked like when you
play your one friend in Madden who doesn't like he
he watches football, but he doesn't like he's a he's
a checkers player, not a chess player.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
Yeah, he's he's staring down one receiver instead of through
his option, and he's throwing the ball.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
On first, second, and third down.
Speaker 1 (59:04):
There's always playing the top safety.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
Yeah, there's no strategy. It's just I'm trying this now
and then I'm trying this. There's nothing that connects any
of the strategy on the offensive. That's what it was
like when I used to play my little brother in Madden.
Speaker 1 (59:20):
The nuance on like a third and shore, you're going
to stack the box, right.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
You know, exactly like that, which is weird because I mean, again,
Chip Kelly has been a good offensive mind at multiple
places in his career. Very very odd offensive strategy.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
From one you're in Sam fran as a head coach,
and we said.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
I kind of even forgot about that as well. See God,
that one Yeah, that one's cat.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
Yeah, he benched his Super Bowl QB.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
The speaking of the snap counts and specifically, I was
really curious to see how the defensive tackle group would
be arranged with theition of Quinn Williams. Oh yeah, what
was the what was like the snap counts for them?
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
For am what am I thinking of? For zone versus
man on man? Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
So they ended up running still ran a lot of zone,
but the difference is they were able to get pressure
with their front. So you had you had Kenny Clark
and Quinn Williams playing a lot together on passing downs.
OSA had a snack, So that a snack there. It
(01:00:32):
is USA, Osa and quinnin both posted ninety plus grades
Monday night. That was right, and I think that is
if you're looking for some kind of recipe of what
can work with the three of them rotating. Osa played
forty snaps, Kenny Clark played thirty nine, and then Quinn
(01:00:55):
Williams played thirty three.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
I know the interior, like the defensive tackles were just
to work on that game like which again, get anything
in between the tackles, get it the O line you
just you got And he's not a burner burner, But
like they did it in the pregame, he can break
tackles if you sit there and throw them a swing
(01:01:18):
pass and you sit there and go deep routes, deep crosses.
If he breaks the one tackle on a cornerback, if
they're in cover two, or if they're sitting there playing,
you know, protecting the like protecting the edges and whatnot,
that could break for a big play and that could
get the momentum going. And then you got the defense
(01:01:40):
on their heels because they're like, oh, I gotta keep
my eyes kind of towards it, not all the way
locked on my receiver. I gotta be looking behind me
in case, you know, Jenti breaks the tackle and that's
why he sub like he excels in that, Yeah, breaking tackles.
So giving him got to give him the chance, you
(01:02:01):
got to give him the at least give him the
opportunity to make him player lost by two points in
a fantasy team. Is that I kind of I hear
you keep you keep paying attention to these things.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Me returning to the genty point even though it's nowhere
on the run sheet.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
But Treate Tucker doesn't go back to the ball and
Bland breaks up a third down.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Yeah, no, one gives no, one gives a hell about
your fantasy league.
Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
The other surprisingly, they also got also got Malik Hooker
back and immediately and Donovan Wilson, so they got their
two safeties back, both of them led with the snaps.
There we got to see the NFL debut of Chavon Ravel.
He ends up playing nineteen snaps.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
Uh. Deron Bland was basically locked on Brock Bowers all night.
A much better Brock Bauers and Tucker. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
But again, like you remember two weeks ago in the
Cardinals game, Bland played uh predominantly outside and he got
cooked by Marvin Harrison Junior.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Bland looked awful well.
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
Playing back inside as that slot, and he's matched up
with Bowers, which is their biggest weapon. It's where you
would want to have your best cover corner.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
I don't know why they like just like basketball wise,
like box them out, box them out and high. You know, Yeah,
that would be too easy, that would that would seem
the ball was not the best. That's why I was saying.
The back shuttle throw to Tucker in the end zone
was one of Gino's best passes.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Would it surprise you to hear that George Pickens through
ten games has the most receiving yards of any Cowboy
ever through the first ten games of a season.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
Yeah, that's pretty surprised. It's pretty surprising right through CDs
all like broad receiver year CD does Mike Irving. Mike
Irving was all. I was a run first team sure,
but still too Yeah the t O Yeah to Romo,
that's crazy connection. Romo was like the first one to
(01:04:14):
start throwing it for forty five times. Right, I'm surprised
in Dallas and I'm not in the NFL, but Dallas wise.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Yeah, the problem this is where it's now reaching. Pickens
is a thirty million dollars a year wide receiver. Yeah,
and you see does trying to like I did.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
That's all, so tell the people what you saw it too.
He's trying to be like, you know, don't go to
a team for just the money. I did that. It
was horrible playing for the Cowboys as you got cut.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
Playing for the Cowboys opens up opportunities you wouldn't have
it with any other team.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Oh does your Oklahoma State? I love you? Oh, but
lost end zone? No, dude, cut dude, Dez can get
through to George Pickens and get him to accept anything
below the franchise tag money.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
So this is where what is the franchise tag on
twenty eight a hair over twenty eight million?
Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
Twenty eight million for the Why am I thinking that
they're forty millions the top?
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
So that is what Jamar Chases. Jamar Chase is the
highest paid at forty million. CD is at thirty six
thirty five and a half, I think it is, but
they take.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
The dints Higgins give like thirty two, yeah, thirty two,
and then it has to be thirty thirty because Ayuk
got it, So it's not twenty eight. It's got to be.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
The wide receiver. Franchise tag is going to be twenty
eight million.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
If Ayuke's got thirty and that was the same thing
and you got Justin Jefferson's thirty plus, it's got to
be thirty three.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
I'm looking at it right now on over the cap
and it is.
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Well, I'm probably thinking of like all this you got
to take away the signing bonuses.
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Uh yeah, when once you get down the base roster numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
I'm just thinking of the overall and I'm just thinking
of signing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Bonus, because the franchise tag is just straight. You get
no bonus, You're getting straight one year salary money. Uh,
and so that would come in at twenty eight million.
At this point, this we all we can. You can
already see the riding on the wall. Like Pickens has
the same agent as Micah, Jerry's going to tender the
(01:06:35):
franchise tag.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
He's gonna Pickens wants a contract, right, the whole reason
why he got outsted out of Pittsburgh. They want to
pay him that money, right, And if you franchise tag him,
he's got that mentality of I will sit that's right.
I don't think that works out.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
But again, I'm telling you you can already see the
chain of events that's about to take place.
Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Jerry's gonna say we're working on a deal. They still
have like the fifth most salary. Do you think Pickens
would take thirty million a year? That's the question. If
you got take like an IU contract, if you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Got four for one twenty yeah, four for one to
twenty five a hair over thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
The problem is.
Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
This is where I think the battle with him and
his agency comes into play a little bit, because there's
no way if he continues this statistically through the rest
of the year, there's no way his agency lets him
take a deal for thirty million because then we're in.
Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
The SA going to be on his ass.
Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
Right, there's a scenario where Pickens gets more money than
CD on the open market, like if he goes if
he's open for every team CDs.
Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
This is his thirty year in the contract.
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
Second, I think it is CD's twenty six, two years
older than Pickens.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
So that got it last year.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
That got it to that got it technically three years ago.
DAK was three years ago before was No, they played
DAK first. Okay, CD's contract battle was two years ago
or no, it was last year. Was during the preseason
last year because he set out all of training camp
(01:08:25):
and then they got the deal done the week of
the regular season starting.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
No, check that, because I thought would have the battle
last year and then the year before was the CD battle.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Ayuk had the Yeah, No, it was August. It was
August of last year that CD signed the four year,
one hundred and thirty six million, So this is only
year two.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
You were right on that part of it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
But yeah, that this is where now like having having
Pickens performed so well, it's going like, yeah, you're getting
what you hoped for, but now he's also driving up
the price where you're potentially going to end up paying
him as much as you're paying CD.
Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
Maybe maybe that's what it takes to the.
Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
Dollar same contract for for one for one thirty six Yeah,
total is that I ask you? Let me ask like
from a football perspective, from a non Cowboys fan, is
that good business to have bargain Ben running back two
(01:09:36):
of the top ten highest paid receivers.
Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
But I mean you're going to from the contract situation
that I've seen out in SINCI, You're gonna have that
kind of a situation where you're gonna have to lean
on all You're gonna have to have nothing but defensive draft.
You gotta hit on your draft picks. You gotta hit
nothing but defensive draft. And you got to just basically
(01:10:01):
say I have a three year window, yeah, and lean
on these other guys because this is like a San
Francisco problem. All of a sudden, Boss is gonna get paid.
Fred Warner gonna get paid, right. You know, we had
to let Hargreave, Hargrave go because we couldn't pay the detackle.
Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
When the Cowboys have sixty four million tied up between
three defensive tackles, something, someone's gonna have to get restructured there.
Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
And we could do all those sweetheart deals because we
had rock Party starting for two to three years before
we paid him. And then he took a you know,
a hometown discount where he could have got paid more
from somebody else, but you know, he wanted to win.
So you're gonna have to find somebody in that organization.
(01:10:49):
And this is the thing you're dealing with Jerry, right,
and you know how he deals, and you know how
he Jerry's going. He doesn't have a good reputation of
being good to his players, except if he really likes you. Right,
But we thought he liked Micah. We thought he liked Micah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
Yeah, but Micah pulled Michael, Michah pulled almost did a
Jerry Michael, Michael Parson, Michael pulled Jerry's pants down in
front of everybody. That's what you can't do in negotiations
with Jerry. C D never did that. CD held out,
didn't show up, said talk to my agent. But he
never embarrassed Jerry publicly the way Micah did, and that that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:26):
Really does like taking a page out of like Zeke
Elliott's book or something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
And even when ze killed out and was hanging out
in can Kun, he still never publicly embarrassed Zeke's pictures. Yeah, somewhere,
Zeke's got the US got the ultimate leverage. I think
from a from a Cowboys fan perspective. If you're paying,
(01:11:50):
if you're paying Pickens the same number you're paying CD,
I'm okay with that. If CD's or if Pickens agent,
which is all so Micah's agency, And that's the problem,
right if they try to set the market, because that
if Pickens continues statistically that what he's done so far
(01:12:10):
this year, that is a twenty four year old wide
receiver entering free agency with top three wide receiver numbers
in the season prior. That's not a guy that settles
for undermarket value.
Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
I think we're gonna see a shake up. Isn't Justin
Jefferson a free agent next year?
Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
I think he still has two years left.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
There's gonna be a The Chargers are in the market,
they're gonna they're gonna make a big splash in the
wide receiver market. Oakland's gonna pay a wide receiver you got.
I think Denver could be in the market, depend on
how they finish in the playoffs, because they might be
one wide receiver away. You know.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
So Justin Jefferson is the same length as CD CD
he's on the second year contract. Yeah, they're both going
till twenty twenty nine, twenty twenty nine, So Jamar Chase
till twenty thirty the big one that kind of jumps
out compared, you know, like Jamar Chase twenty five, Justin
(01:13:20):
Jefferson CD twenty six. But then you've got DK Metcalf
and AJ Brown who are both twenty eight and got
their money. There's there is no world where Pickens looks
at twenty eight year old DK Metcalf soon to be
twenty nine year old AJ Brown and says I'm accepting
(01:13:42):
an offer for less money than they're making. And right
now they're both at you know, thirty two, thirty three
and thirty two million, respectively. Yeah, so that's that's Pickens
market at the baseline.
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
I don't see Pickens going under thirty five. I kind
of think you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
I mean, if the numbers continue, his agency has every
leverage to say this is a twenty four year old
wide receiver who just put up top three numbers in
the league. Why should he not be paid like that?
I can see soon going on attitude decide.
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Five years, thirty five million per But it all for
the Cowboys is all going to depend on how this
young core healthy now and if they can stay healthy,
how they perform to see if, hey, we can actually
have a shot next year if we have an above
like an elite offense with average to above average defense.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Yes, And that's where I mean again, I'll I tried
to feign excitement about what this win on Monday Night
does for the rest of the season. They have a
twelve twelve percent chance to make the playoffs right now.
So when you hear someone talking about, well, the rest
(01:15:02):
the rest of the games this year kind of have
a twenty twenty six preseason.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
Feel to them. Chicks an inside straight the guy is
exactly exactly like the guys in that locker room are
not thinking about next year.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
I'm not suggesting that.
Speaker 1 (01:15:18):
They're thinking about personal stats.
Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
Exactly, and Pickens thinking about this payday he's about to get.
But I do think from a fans perspective, you can
watch specifically the defensive side of the ball, because I
think on offense, the only question is Pickens. I'm Javonte Williams.
Whatever you do there, I mean he did. He had
(01:15:40):
another nice game with ninety three yards twenty two carries
something like that from Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Maybe you have a flash in the pan. Did they
only they signed him for a deal so you can
find a running back, That's.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
What I'm saying, and they should also potentially there's your
third round draft pick right there, and get your starting
running back fourth round at worst.
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
You know, Jerry's gonna use the first round potentially potentially.
I don't know the drafting class. I know the quarterback
drafting class next year is yeah, it doesn't look good.
We're gonna get a first rounder for mac Jones. Let's
not get crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
The I do think from a Cowboys fan perspective, the
you know, when you have Eagles, Chiefs, Lions the next
three games, that I think is more about showing you
how close you are to them for next year than
it is about how close you are to them right now.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
I mean that's where thinking about you know these defensive
uh you know additions, how they fit into the roster
for next year. Because all of those guys are locked
into contract. There's no one everything's locked in now outside
of Javonte and Picking's paid Trayvon. Yeah, but they're the
(01:16:59):
same way with Terrence Steele. They paid him way too early.
Yeah they can. They're getting out of both of those
deals at the end of this year, which is only
more cap space that they won't won't use. Uh remember
talking about that Eagles game Sunday three, twenty five. We've
got to make picks before we get out of here tonight.
(01:17:21):
So that will be the line on that game against
the Eagles. Eagles minus You want to guess.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Where are they playing? Dallas paying Dallas Eagles minus three
and a half. Nailed it on the nose three and
a half.
Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
So think about that as we morph into the main
segment here at nine to twenty two market. Uh So
I mentioned one of us had a good week last week.
You almost almost went undefeated five and zero. The Lions
screwed us both in the in the primetime game against
(01:18:00):
the Eagles, but you won the week four to two,
which now puts you up twenty four to twenty two overall.
You now have a two game lead in the standings.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
More I covered that Seattle game, so specifically looking at
the games we picked.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
We both picked Cowboys and Niners. They covered easily. The
Bills Bucks game, it ended up being twelve. If Baker
had scored that touchdown, that wouldn't have mattered in the
in their second to last drive, that would have been
that would have ended up. I was thinking, I was
(01:18:42):
covering that game.
Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
What was the what was the line? Five and a half? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
So that, yeah, exactly, So I thought I was gonna
get within five points. I thought you were going to
lose that one by half a point. And then Ram
Seahawks same way. That was a three and a half
point game or three and a half points.
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Well, it's going to be a defensive showdown.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Bro ends up being a two point Rams win. So
I got the winner, right? Do more interceptions?
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
What like?
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Do you know how hard that is to do in
the NFL?
Speaker 1 (01:19:15):
That's like insane.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
It doesn't happen often.
Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
God, I was just like, are you kidding me? Man?
Another and then they lose by Myers. Who can he
can nail his sixty one yard or inside because they're
playing in LA and he just sits there and pulls it.
Not even close I just I think the better team
ended up winning check the point shaving on that game.
(01:19:44):
So as always I break them up into contenders, playoffs, fringe,
and ass I added this week did you see on
the Monday night broadcast to it? Because they wanted to
include the Cowboys and the graphic or the playoff race
playoff picture, they had the Cowboys in there.
Speaker 2 (01:20:04):
The Cowboys were under the category of sniffing around. So
I've now we've got fringe parentheses sniffing around calling, but
we didn't even put the Cowboys in that, trust me.
So the contenders took an interesting hit this week. We
(01:20:24):
only have the way I've been doing it is if
you are under plus one thousand in Vegas yeah super
Bowl odds, then were you are in the contender category?
All season despite what their record has been, the Chiefs
have never had odds except the best odds to win
(01:20:48):
the Super Bowl all season long.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
It hasn't showed me they had to move that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
This is the first week where the Chiefs are not
the odds on Vegas favorite to win the.
Speaker 1 (01:21:00):
Super Bowl and not your second, third, fourth. They dropped.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
They they They are now two three four. They now
have the sixth best odds. They went from one all
season and finally gone.
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
That's more realistic. Sixth best odds, that's more realistic. That
doesn't piss me off as much.
Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
So they still have better odds than the Seahawks. Still
have better odds than the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (01:21:27):
Well, the Seahawks last performers with the four picks better
odds than the Broncos. That's that's correct. With the bow
Nicks reelings.
Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
Have better odds than the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
That's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
Packers, yes, yeah, sure, but yeah, I mean that's about
where the line is. So the upheaval this week, there
are only three teams.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
Now, tell me my guys are in the contenders. The
Niners Yeah no, nowhere close. Y'all are barely hanging on
to a playoff spot. You're closer to than you are contenders.
Your Niners have worst odds than the Chargers and Bucks.
You got no, no, no, no, you're do you see
(01:22:10):
what we could do? We're only getting healthier. Pierce All
call one.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Catch your best guys, Ryan Thompson or your biggest injuries
aren't getting healthier.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
They're out for the Ryan Robinson Brian Robinson juniors turning
it back up becoming that player that we saw last year.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
We'll talk about the Niners when we get to fringe.
Now I'm kidding can playoff. There's only three teams that
have under one thousand, under plus one thousand odds for
the super Bowl. You want to you wanna. Bills have
the third best odds. They're plus eight hundred to win
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
Eagles are number one, plus five hundred, and then you
got oh man.
Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
I would had a big divisional win on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (01:22:56):
No, not Detroit, not might have the MVP playing quarterback.
The Patriots, the Rams, the Rams. Oh yeah, Rams are second.
So Eagles are plus five hundred, Rams are.
Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
Plus five point fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
Pretty much a toss up there. The Rams are playing
the best ball they are.
Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
And then Bills the closest to sliding into the contenders.
The Colts are right at plus one thousand, the Lions
and the Chiefs plus eleven hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
Uh, and then you get everybody else.
Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
And so we only have three teams in the contender category.
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
They're doing more of a history lesson on this than
what we're seeing week to week.
Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Well that's how Vegas is, I mean, that's how they
that you can judge a lot. You don't normally see
a team come out of nowhere and win a Super Bowl.
It's usually a three year build up or you have
some kind of last year Like that wasn't out of
nowhere though they had.
Speaker 1 (01:23:57):
I mean they lost in their first round the year before, yeah,
but it was.
Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
It wasn't like it was all of a sudden. No,
It's like comparing the Eagles last year to what the
Colts are doing this year. Yeah, that doesn't feel like
a fair right, And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
Comparing Minnesota, comparing what.
Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
The Eagles are doing or did last year to what
the Pats are doing this year, Yeah, those aren't really
compare comparable.
Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
You know, like normally there is give me the Pats
and the I'll give you the Pats in the Indianapolis,
maybe Denver, you know, just because their record is stellar.
But if you look who they played, they played some
really crappy teams, you.
Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Know, and they're they've squeaked by in a lot of
games that they but.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
They do have the best defense in the league, you know,
Like I kind of understand, like if I was, if
I was, if you asked me right now, who has
a better chance today of winning the Super Bowl, the
Chiefs or the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
I would still say the Chiefs. I know that sounds crazy. Well,
I mean because Patrick, they've been there exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
And that's where I say, building off of those calls
and which he didn't get this weekend, which was a
beautiful game, but it did almost almost when he got
sacked and he was like, he hit me in the head.
He me and he didn't touch him anywhere in the head.
Speaker 2 (01:25:20):
Sure, it's the same way Kirby Smart calls for holding
on every defensive play.
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
They're holding on their hand and he Kirby gets the
calls because he, uh, the SEC loves Georgia.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Bill's beat the Bucks mentioned that thought the Bucks were
going to have a back door cover. Bill's bounced back
when that one forty.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
Four thirty two Superman Allen came back six touchdowns right,
six three passes. Only only one player in NFL history
has ever done that. Hold on, hold on.
Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
Old old guy, old old right.
Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
No, I mean no, he's the only player they ever
do three rushing three three. Oh oh I thought you,
I thought you said it. Oh no, no, no, no, he
is the only guys I was thinking like Auto Graham
or or not. I think someone that ran back, because
like Auto Graham has some crazy every time a rushing quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
Does something, it's either Mike Vick. Yeah, it's either Mike
Vick or Auto Graham that they match or pass.
Speaker 1 (01:26:22):
It was that crazy Philly Mike vic game where he
had like two rushing touchdowns and four throwing touchdowns to have.
Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
Six or the six total, but not three and three
mentioned the Seahawks almost winning that game, but the Rams
hold on win twenty one to nineteen. Uh and then
the Cowboys upcoming opponent, the Eagles win behind their defense.
Offense still looks pretty lost. Ye, they beat the Lions
(01:26:51):
sixteen to nine.
Speaker 1 (01:26:52):
I don't know what's going on with that offense, Like,
and you cannot keep on putting them in plug the
number one. It hasn't been good all year.
Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
Yeah, I mean you remember flashback. They were the first
team to go four and oh to start a season
while getting out gained in all.
Speaker 1 (01:27:10):
Four of those games. Like it's it's not a new
and it's surprising that their defense is doing so good.
They got rid of huff like San Fran got huff
on the line and they got they lost good people
like CJ. Garner Johnson. Yeah, and they're still just stellar
(01:27:32):
they I guess that's how deep they were last year. Yeah,
I mean that's that's uh. And then they still got
the touch push where they are going before the snap
count like can we you gotta do a replay on this,
Like no kind of be replayable.
Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
No consistency to any of those any of those officiated calls.
The I do think on the Eagles offense, it needs
to be repeated and brought up every time we talk
about it. They lost an offensive coordinator that's a head
coach now in the league this year, Kellen Moore. Obviously
(01:28:08):
Saints aren't. I mean they were on by but they're
in the ass category. But still losing your offensive cour
I mean, how many offensive coordinators has Jalen Hurts had?
Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
What is he up to now for?
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
I mean they're losing continuity from the staff like that.
I think definitely plays into performance when it comes especially
on off.
Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
You give bitter star receivers.
Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
Yeah, the AJ Brown again, comparing Pickens number, there's no
way Pickens is going to take less money than what
AJ Brown got from Philly. Playoff category we saw last
Thursday when we were in the room, Pats beat the
Jets twenty seven to fourteen. Dude, somebody break up the Bears.
(01:28:58):
The Bears lead the INN.
Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Right now, the Niners play the Bears. Not this week,
but I think the week after.
Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Yeah, the the Bears are now number one, leading the
NFC North, ahead of the Lions, ahead of the Packers.
They beat the Vikings in nineteen to seventeen. It wasn't pretty,
but they held on to win that one.
Speaker 1 (01:29:27):
Vikings are in shambles, man, Yeah, you know mac Jones
might be going to the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
You keep trying to promote the value of mac Jones
one any team, but the one you root for.
Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
The Vikings decision for the Vikings decision to move on
from Sam Donald looks worse and worse by the week.
Speaker 1 (01:29:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Combined with how JJ McCarthy looks, with how Seattle looks
with Sam Donald running things, it was like they sh
And that's on a week where he had four interceptions.
Speaker 1 (01:30:02):
Sam Donald's like, it's still who did they draft? I
think they draft? Who did Seattle draft? Not draft, but
traded for quarterback wise that got outplayed during the preseason
in RUSSELLI wasn't.
Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
Oh Matt Flynn, they signed him away from the pack
He was the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
Backup backup that had a great year whenever Am Rodgers
went down and was he signed expecting to be the starter,
just be given the job. And then Russell Wilson, that
seems like even though you lost, it sucks that you're
losing a job to injury. But he let Sam Donald
walk out that door.
Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Yeah, when you were a fourteen win team, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:30:48):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
I understand you've got a first round draft pick sitting
on the bench as your backup quarterback. But if the
money wasn't an issue, it wasn't like they were. It
wasn't a financial dump. It wasn't like they had to
move off of Donald.
Speaker 1 (01:31:05):
Well, I don't even think he Yeah he was. He
signed like a two year contract or something. You you
had him for another year, you could have let him
sit on the bench still, like the Packers do that.
Have no problem keeping you on the bench for a
year or two to learn and grow immature while you're
having a hot quarterback still an old veteran quarterback. Still
(01:31:29):
put up numbers, put up wins, get you to the playoffs.
Damn near first seed in the NFC last year.
Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
Yeah, and Donald, I mean Donald only signed a three
I mean only it's a lot of money, three year,
one hundred million dollar deal total with Seattle.
Speaker 1 (01:31:45):
And that's why Seattle's got one of the second best
defense in the league, if not the first now because
they dumping money on some veterans out there. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Yeah, I just can't imagine what it feels like to
be a Vikings fan. You watched your team win fourteen
games last year with Sam Darnold. You're seeing him do
something pretty similar in Seattle this year.
Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
Meanwhile, the first round top ten quarterback that you had
high hopes was your future is now scuffling and you're
sitting dead last in the divisions. Yeah, pretty in the
Bears are leading the division. That's even crazier to me.
I mean, that's the craziest thing.
Speaker 1 (01:32:29):
That was supposed to be the expectation with Kayler Wibbley.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
He was supposed to be a church and he's turned out.
I mean this year in the fourth quarter, there's very
few quarterbacks better than him.
Speaker 1 (01:32:41):
In a dynasty league. Guess who traded for a doozy?
A oh nice? And all I had to give up
was cream Hunt and Cream Hunt and next year's first
and second round pick. Well, that's a lot. It feels
like when not when I'm like going for a championship.
Oh yeah, so your window is close. Yeah, it's literally
(01:33:01):
he's gonna get like a eleventh and like a twelfth
or thirteenth. The twelfth and thirteenth pick, I'll take that.
And Duzia is what second year and is coming to
his own giving up putting up thirty point games. No,
that's gonna pay off. DJ fours out next year. He
only signed a three year deal like that. Don is
(01:33:22):
gonna be a He's gonna be one of the top
wide receivers in the game. Well, and I think that's
the connection.
Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
I mean, if the Bear the Bears seven and three
this year feels like I mean, we watched the Cowboys,
fans watched the Bears have one of their better games
of the year against Dallas. I don't think at any
point watching the Bears this year, I've thought they were
a seven hundred win percentage team. I didn't think because
(01:33:47):
what seven and three extrapolates out to.
Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
What is that.
Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
Some twelve and basically twelve and.
Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Five, right, something like that? In eleven twelve wins.
Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
Yeah, I don't think anyone had the Bears being a
twelve win team in year one under Ben Johnson.
Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
Also that we're starting to see more and more of
those trick plays come out as bag Yeah, and that's exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
It's terrifying for a potential first round playoff matchup.
Speaker 1 (01:34:22):
But see, because those are the kind.
Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
Of plays that can gets similar to Chicago. Might be
what Washington was last year, where all of a sudden,
you look up and Washington is in the NFC Championship game.
Speaker 1 (01:34:36):
So the Bears remaining schedule Steelers hell of a defense,
but we don't know if it Rogers is going to
play Eagles, Packers, Browns, Packers, Niners, Detroit. Okay, is it
(01:34:58):
just me or do a lot of these skits they
stay in first place? They earned it?
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Do A lot of these schedules seem backloaded, like heavy backload,
And I guess that's maybe when you were thinking about
the Bears at the beginning of the season, you didn't
think they'd have seven wins after ten weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
We saw the front schedule. I mean it's just division
division back or front loaded. Yeah, and this is just
a good because they're playing three they're playing three games
that are division games, green Bay and Detroit, and it's and.
Speaker 2 (01:35:30):
It's a weird now because you're looking at their upcoming
schedule where Green Bay and Detroit are second and third
in that division. Yeah, and the Bears aren't dead last,
they're number one, which is weird.
Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
So they're circling that game. Did you watch any.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Of the Jamis experience when that Packer is speaking of NFC.
Speaker 1 (01:35:50):
North, Yeah, Jameis is going to James. I love Jamis.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
I love watching The Packers ended up winning twenty seven
to twenty, but there were Jamis he's a chance, he
had a chance, but he also should have thrown five interceptions.
So it's like that's the Jamis experience in a nutshell.
Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
It's like he just drops it in the bucket and
then he's like throws it and he's like, that's the
wrong team, sir. There was not even one of There
wasn't even a giant around the field. No, there's very
there were multiple multiple that's how you go thirty for
thirty for a season's.
Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
Thirty touchdowns, thirty interceptions. Not a documentary produced by ESPN.
We'll burn through the rest real quick. Steelers beat the Bengals.
It wasn't closed thirty four to twelve. Explain this one
to me. Jags Jacksonville Jaguars thirty five, Chargers six. The
Chargers are I think I've said it multiple times. The
(01:36:47):
Chargers are the most confusing team this year.
Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
They're streaky and so are Like you have two streaky
teams right now. Jacksonville's defense has been stellar the past
two games, yep, and the Chargers offense has been reeling
for the past two or three games. Quentin Johnston, he
looked like the pick that they wanted, tall receiver go
across the middle. He's not even getting targeted. I don't
(01:37:12):
know why. Lad McConkey is just a shell of himself
from what he did last year. No running back game.
Offensive line is horrible. Herbert's getting hit more than anybody
in the league. I don't know what to tell you, man, Like,
who do you have more faith in right now? The
Chargers are the Chiefs. Oh cheez, Chiefs right, just because
(01:37:37):
Andy Reid and then you got Chris Jones on the
other side of the ball. I trust Chiefs defense way
more than I trust the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Just looking at this AFC West now because the other
game of Broncos Chiefs and Broncos won that one twenty
two to nineteen. So you have the Broncos at nine
and two, the Chargers at seven and four. The divisions
pretty much divisions unattainable for the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
They're five and five. They're gonna to look for sneaking
in back making them the wild card spot, right But
still looking at that division the way it sits right now,
I still have more faith in the five and five
Chiefs than either of the two teams. Like we've talked
about Denver talked about Chargers being well the O line,
(01:38:26):
like the line on the Chiefs is better than the
line on the Chargers. So like Herbert, you give any
of the quarterbacks, you give any NFL quarterbacks, you give
them time, they are going to perform at elite levels.
The whole point is are they going to get pressured
(01:38:47):
on them? Now? In that division? Who you got getting pressured?
Max Crosby, you got Chris Jones doing work, You got
all of the Denver players coming at you. So I
I mean they gotta show up that line. I would
(01:39:08):
they lose again.
Speaker 2 (01:39:09):
The Chargers lost both their tackles too, to injury this year,
Joe Alt and the other guy I can't think of
his name.
Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
I would sit there and a need to make a
move to get a top tier receiver like an AJ
Brown might be moving to him for like a George Pickens,
the George Pickens. I guarantee you on that one, because
they get if Quinton Johnson is the big body guy,
Lad McConkie's the slot guy, they need that other that
talent that's gonna garner the best corner on the other team,
(01:39:40):
you know, so it opens up the other two and
then you also get the one on one. I think
Pickens can beat pretty much any corner in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:39:47):
The only other thoughts I had on that Broncos Chiefs
game Romo, it's it's it's not even funny how bad
Romo is now. He's not listened to him. He's not
even trying, dude, He's not even Yeah, there's no prep
like this. This one show of notes is more prep
(01:40:11):
than Tony Romo's.
Speaker 1 (01:40:12):
Dying a year all year? Is he getting tanked like
in the like it sounds like a hotel lobby before
like like before the games. It's it's, it's it's bad.
I don't know it's so bad.
Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
So I had pulled three clips to send to LG
from over the weekend as I as they were as
I saw him, and then this morning I was listening
to him again, I was like, I don't even it's
not it's so bad. A montage of clips isn't even
worth it because it's not even. It's like when you
it's like when you see that team getting blown out
(01:40:49):
by one hundred in high school basketball and you're like, oh, man,
I actually am starting to feel bad for Like I'm
part of me is starting to feel bad for how
bad Tony Romo is.
Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
At his job. Now if it I would feel worse
if I how long is that contract? Dude?
Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
I think we're still at Like Greg Olsen he was
six or seven years Yeah, dude, every single week of watching,
especially when the Cowboys don't play on Sunday and I
can really hop around and hear all the different broadcasts
JJ Watt Texans are undefeated. When JJ Watt calls their games,
(01:41:30):
they beat the Titans sixteen thirteen. But hearing more of
the broadcast teams, it's so so clear that Greg Olsen
is head and shoulders above everyone else. When it comes
to actually analyzing the game. I think greg Olsen actually
enjoys the nerdy side of football. Like greg Olsen is
(01:41:53):
listening to football podcast every minute of his day. He's
listening to the at all times, and.
Speaker 1 (01:42:01):
He's because he enjoys it. He's tuning his craft too,
to be like, how do I, like get synergy with
my co host?
Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
How do I how do I take this really complex
football topic and break it down where someone like so
the roommate enjoys or gets something out of it. Like,
actually like greg Olsen's ability to educate people like you
and I and the roommate or you know, spouses that
(01:42:31):
are watching, Like he's giving you levels of analysis where
everyone from different you know, levels of awareness or understanding
of the game is still getting something out of it. Yeah,
like there's a lot of value to that.
Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
We can bag on Romo all we want.
Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
Yeah, exactly, That's what I say. It's not even it's
not even worth it. Did you have any thoughts? Niners
beat the Cards forty one twenty two. I mean Kittle
said it best last week.
Speaker 1 (01:42:58):
We got to lean on our vets offense because we
got a lot of young kids and the Thune went
out with the high ankle sprain, the stellar quarterback, stellar
linebacker that took over for all world, Fred Warner, who's
literally had the led the team in tackles. Like, then
we also lost Oh my god, we lost another linebacker,
(01:43:22):
so we're decimated linebacker already. And then we lost a
cornerback as well. So great.
Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
You know you're still holding on right now. If the
season ended today, the Niners would be the last team
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
And that's only because we haven't had our bye week yet.
So let these let these other teams like catch up
to us, because our bye week is week fourteen. It's
not host injured team in the league. You give us
the latest bye week.
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
Keep up the good work, don't keep keep up the
good work from every Cowboy fan. Keep doing what you do, Playboy.
Chase that money. You're killing it. Don't let anyone tell
you otherwise.
Speaker 1 (01:44:04):
Was outstanding. Brock Purty shut down the oh Mac Jones
should be in there besides Brock Party, who said that, dude?
It was it was becoming an issue like in Niner world.
It was like the should we stick with just Mac
Jones instead of rock Party?
Speaker 2 (01:44:22):
Yeah, and there and at one point in time, there
were Cowboys fans that wanted Steve Berline playing over Troy Like.
That's like we can call these people idiots cap Like,
there's no reason to sugarcoat that.
Speaker 1 (01:44:34):
That's that's stupid. Brock's really really stellar. Once again, you know,
he has the fourth highest rating, Like he's first in
yards per completion, he's first in another category. He's also
fourth in QB rating. And that's over a span of
(01:44:55):
you have to have like over five hundred snaps with
a with a yeah as like a cap work curated minimum.
So it's the narrative that Brock Party is a top
five quarterback all time. No, if it's a narrative that
he's playing as a top five quarterback almost almost legend
of Brock Daniel Party will continue if he continues at
(01:45:18):
this pace and gets a chip or two. We need
that chip. So you mentioned this, I don't want too
are the seventh seed. He's far from Damn Marino. Let's
calm down. Damn Marino never got a chip. I know, like,
I don't want a great quarterback at the Hall of
Fame quarterback and.
Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
That's what I'm saying. Let's calm down, Brock Purty is
closer to Tony Romo than he is Dan Marino. Sir, sir,
I've never slapped, sir. Your Niners are the seventh seed.
Tell me so. Technically, when we were talking about that
Eagles Lions game, Eagles being in the contender category, that
(01:45:59):
lost by the line is what knocked them out of
a playoff spot. So tell me, as we look at
the fringe category, the Lions have their own they have
destiny in their own hands because they have the games
against the NFC North, which includes the Packers who are
the sixth seed and the Bears, who are the three seed.
So if the Lions win their division games, they'll get
(01:46:21):
into the playoffs and then it'll be you know whatever,
Niners and Packers potentially fighting for that or Niner Seahawks.
Don't y'all have Seattle again?
Speaker 1 (01:46:32):
Yeah, we face Seattle one more time and if we
win that, we are going to have We're going to
have the edge on division wins. No one can beat
us in division wins.
Speaker 2 (01:46:48):
So here is where here's where it gets interesting because
one of the teams I have in the fringe category
is the Panthers. The Panthers are six and five, crazy
they've bounced back, so they are.
Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
Tempted to start prees young this week against the Niners
because our secondaries.
Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
There were a lot of people that probably started Geno
Smith this week in fantasy only to be disappointed. You know,
like I still would lean more talent versus matchup because
but the Niners seven and four final playoff spot, Lions
six and four first team out, Panthers are six and
five second team out of the playoffs. But the Bucks
(01:47:35):
are only six and four now, so the Panthers have
a pathway where they get in not as a wild card,
but as the division winner if they can beat Tampa
Bay once again.
Speaker 1 (01:47:47):
The NFC South is it's not garbage, not garbage, it's.
Speaker 2 (01:47:50):
The whole, the whole compor the whole division is basically
the fringe category. They're all fringe playoffs teams, but one.
Speaker 1 (01:47:58):
Of the eight and nine. So I ask, is.
Speaker 2 (01:48:06):
Is there a realistic outcome where the one the Panthers
are a playoff team, two the Panthers are anything other
than the division champion playoff Like, basically, are the Panthers
climbing into this wildcard race?
Speaker 1 (01:48:25):
Because I don't think the wild card. No, there's only
gonna be one team out of the NFC South. Yeah,
that's gonna go in. So it's either gonna be Tampa
or it's gonna be the Panthers. And I think the
Panthers have a real good shot with the emergence of
Rico Daddle because you control the run game, you control
the clock, you dictate everything. Also, that defense, I mean
(01:48:46):
defense is legit. And and if Bryce Young doesn't turn
over the ball, you got a shot, you know what
I'm saying. And him and McMillan had a great connection
last week. Let's see if they build it up. But
they're playing us this week. Leonor is going to be
on that ass, you know, like he ain't getting no
(01:49:09):
fourteen catches on DeAndre Lenoir.
Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
Yeah, and you mentioned that game Niners. What do you
want to guess?
Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
Uh, Niners minus four and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:49:20):
Okay, you're finally getting the respect from Vegas. You want
Niners minus seven minus seven?
Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
Yeah, no, one doubt it. Yeah, I didn't think I
was gonna get that, which is also that's what I'm saying, Hey,
don't you get any ideas I'm already because we're about
to do that next Just looking at the fringe category.
Speaker 2 (01:49:40):
I think the Panthers are in the fringe category because
they can catch the Bucks and win the division. But
I think some combination of Lions, Niners, Packers, and Bears
will be your last team in.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
First team out. Yeah, I see three people from NFC
West going in for sure, Niners in Seattle or whoever's
going to win that division. Rams, Seattle and Niners are going.
Speaker 2 (01:50:10):
So it's either it's either going to be three teams
from one division or getting in. It's either the NFC
West or it's the NFC North because you're either getting
all three of Chicago, Detroit and Green Bay, or you're
getting all three Seattle.
Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
Or melt down Detroit there.
Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Well, if two melt down, then the Panthers could potentially
get back into a wild card run, but I don't
think that's happening right So AFC side, it's a little
more interesting in terms of the fringe because you have
three teams now that are five and five right on
the outside of the playoffs, the Texans, the Chiefs, and
the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
Texans. Wow, Yeah, they climbed all.
Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
The way back in it, and they have a deep
They've got a big game at home against the Bills this.
Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
Week, So are we gonna see I mean, they got
Nico Christian Kirk. Who's the other receivers that they got
old buddy who snapped his leg?
Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
Is he We're gonna see Tank Dell?
Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
Yeah, he's gonna Yeah. All year, didn't they sign for someone?
It was it Christian Kirk that I'm thinking of. I
thought they got someone else, but yeah, I can't remember, right,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
It's also the The Davis Mills Show, Yeah, because c J.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Strouds still out. Yeah, and then but the emergence of
Mars the rookie running back, that's good. And then if
Joe Mixon, I don't think he's coming back this year.
Speaker 2 (01:51:49):
The Ravens are the one I think to look at
if you're talking fringe and the because what's how much
confidence do you have in the six and four Steelers
with Mason Rudolph versus the five and five Ravens with
Lamar back. Lamar didn't practice today, but I think they're
doing the same thing they did last week.
Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
So I want to take it back that the Carolina
Panthers have a shot for the playoffs. Why upcoming schedule?
Look look at this upcoming so was Niners this week,
the Rams the week after the Saints. Let's go that
win Bucks Seattle Bucks. Yeah, they never they have a like.
(01:52:30):
I mean, I mean making the playoffs in a wild
card like. That's not happening. They're not no like. But
if they run the Bucks, they got a chance to
get in division. If the Bucks drop some other they
got they gotta play three NFC West teams. Yeah, that's
that is not the Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
That is a that is a rough I messed up
LG shot. That's a rough upcoming. Let's knock it out
because we've got we've got picks we have to make.
Since we're only doing one show this week, here's the
games I pulled. Obviously, we're gonna do Panthers at Niners
(01:53:13):
Niners minus seven, Eagles at Cowboys, Eagles minus three and
a half. The games aren't very good this week, and
even the four matchups I pulled to choose from are
a bit of a bit of a stretch in terms
of quality. So Bill's at Texans. That's Thursday night football.
(01:53:39):
That's Thursday. That's tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (01:53:42):
I see, because I see what you're trying to do here.
Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
Bill's minus six. Bill's six Dealers at Bears. Bears are
two and a half point favorites in that.
Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
I like Colts and Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:53:54):
Colts and Chiefs, Chiefs minus three and a half. I've
got that one written down. And then lastly I had
Sunday Night football Bucks at Rams, Rams minus seven.
Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
Mm. I like the Bucks and Rams. We go that.
I like that. What for the night game? Do you
really want a new Thursday night game? I mean, the
games aren't very good.
Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
It's either that we could drop Bill's Texans and then
do Chiefs, Colts, Steelers, Bears, Bucks, Rams. Lock it in it? Okay,
So as always, we'll start with Cowboys. Eagles at Cows.
Birds at Cows, Birds favored by three and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
At Cowboys. I know it's your team you picked first,
but the offense Eagles offense hasn't looked great. No Cowboys defense,
even though it was the Raiders. There's a halfway where
you can see them being more disruptive than they were
(01:55:04):
in the Week one matchup. It's gonna be a physical match.
Cowboys know.
Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
They've got the Chiefs on Thanksgiving next Thursday. If you
don't win, I mean it's a it's a must win.
Speaker 1 (01:55:18):
You're talking yourself into this one.
Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
I just think that three and a half hook. I
think realistically, like a twenty seven to twenty four Eagles win. Yeah,
doesn't sound bad a thirty to twenty eight Eagles win.
If the Eagles do get their offense clicking like I
kinda I like the Cowboys offense at home.
Speaker 1 (01:55:43):
To keep it close. You can't reel on it all day.
You gotta you gotta make that snap decision there, buddy.
Speaker 2 (01:55:51):
I mean, ah, three and a half, that half hook.
Speaker 1 (01:55:54):
I gotta go. Give me die screw it, give me
Dallas plus the points.
Speaker 2 (01:56:07):
Writing it down. My hand just won't move real easily.
I don't know, man, I which way are you leaning?
Speaker 1 (01:56:17):
Dude? You're taking the Eagles?
Speaker 2 (01:56:19):
Yeah, figured see that's my other.
Speaker 1 (01:56:24):
So you're taking Cowboys? Well, I need.
Speaker 2 (01:56:28):
I need to have some way to catch back up.
But if I picked the Cowboys, I feel like I
might be chasing the wind and only just fall further behind.
Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
It came off a great wind, Luke Stellar.
Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
I mean, the defense looked like a whole different unit.
Speaker 1 (01:56:51):
It is a whole different and they got they got.
Quentin william still gave up sixteen points. Quentin Williams stop
the touch push.
Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
All right, you talked me into it. Give me the
Cows plus three and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
I'll take that point.
Speaker 2 (01:57:10):
Give me the Eagles Panthers at Niners Niners minus seven.
Speaker 1 (01:57:15):
Oh, the first time they respect us? Why I still
think that offense is gonna click. We're gonna plug up
the Rico Daddles shows. This is also the Monday night
football game. Yeah, and McMillan, he is not going to
get nearly the amount of points he did last week.
(01:57:35):
Hit me with the Niners taking Niners seven points. It's
a lot, though, It is a lot. That is. I
don't like it, but we can do it a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
I can't believe I'm not gonna take the Cowboys and
the Panthers in the same week, right, I mean that
just feels like a recipe to fall.
Speaker 1 (01:57:58):
You got a bet, big big? Yeah? I think I don't.
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
I mean that's a whole that's a whole touchdown plus
the extra point. I mean, that's like it's a Seven's
a lot. I'm worried though, if I split both of these.
Speaker 1 (01:58:16):
So what if it's like they win by seven? Who
gets It's a push.
Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Right, Yeah, It's just a push. We just don't count it.
We haven't had one.
Speaker 1 (01:58:25):
Yeah, why would they do nothing?
Speaker 2 (01:58:28):
Well, so my guess is they're My guess is it
opened six and a half and it's been bet up
by the public. I bet uh yeah, Niners. Niners opened
as six and a half point favorite.
Speaker 1 (01:58:41):
Let's keep it.
Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
So the publica's publica. We take them as we look
at them. Public has put the money on the Niners.
Speaker 1 (01:58:49):
You know what, screw it. Give me the Panthers, a
drama Panthers. I'll take seven points. Uh. And then we
say we were going to do Steelers Bears, Bears minus
two and a half, Steelers without Aaron Rodgers. Oh, I'm
(01:59:11):
going Bears, gotta go Bears. Swift is questionable, but I
think he's gonna I think he's gonna play. But the
backup when he's gone in there, he is shown that.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
Oh yeah, the long name, what's his name? Yeah, yeah, careful, careful,
just say it fast.
Speaker 1 (01:59:31):
There we go. Yeah, he doesn't look like that. So,
but I mean, that's the hell of a defense. But
Bears are clicking and they're playing. They're not playing a soldier,
they're playing over and playing what's Steelers at stadium? There
it's at Chicago. Oh is that soldier field? Yeah? Yeah,
(01:59:52):
give me the Bears. But yeah, so technically they were
trying to give the basically get the edge to the
Steelers if they're playing neutral site.
Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
I think based on defense, you're going Bears.
Speaker 1 (02:00:04):
Yeah, Bears defense is not bad man.
Speaker 2 (02:00:06):
Bears minus two and a half.
Speaker 1 (02:00:10):
Yeah, I agree with you. I'm taking Bears.
Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
I'm taking Bears along with you.
Speaker 1 (02:00:16):
And then we said Colts at Chiefs Chiefs minus three
and a half. Oh, must win game Indy coming off
of bye and.
Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
It's I'll make I'll go first on this one. The
Chiefs Pat Mahomes has to save the season. I think
he does it. Give me Chiefs to cover three and
a half.
Speaker 1 (02:00:37):
Even though I think the NFL will not let Patrick
Holmes not make the playoffs. Jonathan Taylor coming off of
bye week resting ready to run Indiana Jones. You saw
that maniac like two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (02:00:56):
I take another.
Speaker 1 (02:00:57):
I'm going Indy final. We're who were we at in Indy? Oh? No,
arrowhead mother two and a half? Three and a half.
Speaker 2 (02:01:10):
So they got a win by more than a You
get a whole field golden to save you, all right?
Speaker 1 (02:01:16):
Stick with Indy. Colts, Stick with Indy. This is how
do you defeat one Patrick Mahomes. You keep them on
the bench by running the ball.
Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
This is setting up to be a we could have
some serious separation this week because I'm already regretting my
first two picks.
Speaker 1 (02:01:34):
That's what she said.
Speaker 2 (02:01:35):
Uh hey, now Bucks Bucks at Rams Rams minus seven.
Speaker 1 (02:01:42):
Oh Bucky Irvin, are you back in my life?
Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
This is the same way this game opened Rams minus
six and a half. The public has betted up to
a full touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:01:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
I keep saying this and I keep being proven wrong.
Baker Mayfield plus the points has not been good to me.
That you can't stop yourself. I mean, I like Baker
on turf on Monday night. No Sunday night. This is
a Sunday night game. Yeah, I think I'm going.
Speaker 1 (02:02:21):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (02:02:22):
I thought the Bucks were gonna cover that game last
week against the Bills and they were five and a
half point dogs. I think they stay within a touchdown
of the Rams. I'm taking the Bucks. Oh my plus seven?
Speaker 1 (02:02:41):
Oh my god, I love you that you locked it
in because Baker is questionable as well. What, No, he's
not gonna miss that illness? Yeah, he's fine limited through walkthrough,
Godwin might be back. I think the Rams, after almost losing,
should have lost that game. They're gonna they're they're gonna
(02:03:04):
blow them out, blow them out by at least twenty points.
Rams by twenty. Well, I think, in my opinion, I'm
not gonna give you twenty sure, sure.
Speaker 2 (02:03:14):
But you're gonna take Rams minus seven.
Speaker 1 (02:03:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:03:17):
Wow, well this is this is setting up this could
very well.
Speaker 1 (02:03:22):
So we different on all five games.
Speaker 2 (02:03:25):
Four of the five we both took the Bears, Bears
over Steelers. Oh my god, this is not this. I
don't like what I look down and I don't like
what I'm looking at cap the more I actually think
about it.
Speaker 1 (02:03:40):
Ah, but regardless, let's win them all. LG.
Speaker 2 (02:03:43):
Let's do some lightning round get out of here. So
you remember last week how we closed the show. I
saw who wasn't in the chat? I think it was?
Was it Chris? Chris mentioned earlier? Uh, the Amarillo El
Paso El Dorado game. You remember we closed the show
last week with the video from the Valero and plain
(02:04:05):
view of the three coaches flipping the coin to see
so dramatic. Yeah, well, Amarillo won the coin flip. As
we talked about, they were really eight and two, but
they had to forfeit six games, so that made them
two to eight. But they are the fourth place team
(02:04:28):
in their district. So last week in round one of
the Texas High School football playoffs, out of a possible
one hundred and sixty games, one six to zero, where
the a district champion played a team that got fourth
place in their district. Out of one hundred and sixty games,
(02:04:49):
the fourth place team won twenty two of those. So
I saw someone I think it was Greg Tepper, the
guy that runs Dave Campbell's Texas High School Football He
said that that percentage twenty two out of one to sixty,
that's the same as a the amount of fourteen seeds
(02:05:12):
upsetting three seeds over the last decade. So that's just
for a comparison of you know how often that happens.
Speaker 1 (02:05:20):
That's March mandainess he's talking about, right.
Speaker 2 (02:05:24):
That Amarillo team played in the game has to be
the game of the week. El Paso El Dorado beat
Amarillo seventy seven to seventy six. Oh no, that is
not a misprint. But weren't they like because they lost
(02:05:45):
on the stipulation. They should have been really the division champs.
They should have they should have ended up I think
second place in the district.
Speaker 1 (02:05:52):
So they were like they were already a real good
They were good and seventy seventy six.
Speaker 2 (02:05:57):
They almost got the album that. Yeah, I was digging
for some I read. I read an article from the
whatever the Amarillo paper is called. I can't think of it.
All I can think about is the Avalanche Journal, the
love paper. They're all the same once you're north of Abilene.
But yeah, it turned out to be an amazing game
(02:06:18):
after the coin flip we talked about last week.
Speaker 1 (02:06:21):
All Right, hit me LG if you can go ahead
and get that video ready, But not just yet. We're
just going to run down college football. Last week Ohio
State cleaned house on u CLA, Indiana cleaned house on Wisconsin.
Oklahoma over Alabama. Now they are a playoff looking team
(02:06:42):
in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (02:06:43):
Now what they slot in eighth I think in the
new CFP rankings that came out last.
Speaker 1 (02:06:48):
Night, Georgia, as we all know, did not give any
leeway to Texas.
Speaker 2 (02:06:55):
How about the balls on Kirby Smart that onside kick? Yeah,
up so Arch and Texas had scored to make it
fourteen to ten. Yeah, and you're starting to think they're
back in the game. And what was that halfway through
the third quarter or late in the third quarter, and
then it was like two minutes left in the third quarter. Yeah,
(02:07:17):
and then Georgia gets the ball back, drives down, scores
a touchdown on surprise onside kick gets it, drives down,
scores a touchdown. So arch had got them back within
four points. And then the next time he touches the ball,
they're down eighteen. Yeah, twenty eight to ten, three scores
with under eight minutes to go in the game, and
the game.
Speaker 1 (02:07:36):
Is basically over it and they're just defense. That was
such a ballsy call. But tex cruises over us USF.
You know, UCF Notre Dame keeps winning. The Bringham Young Mormons,
they they like to soak up all into TCU.
Speaker 2 (02:07:57):
Well they're soaking their way into the playoffs now because
they I guess technically they would be the first team
out right now because you still got the Group of
five or the group of six and the ACC champion
getting in.
Speaker 1 (02:08:11):
And the game of the week I thought was the
comeback by Texas A and M if you can log
that video in from me. They had all the momentum,
as Herbstreet. Herbstreet like to say over and over, and
I'm like, I hope Poma's listened to this, the momentum
to win the game and not let them score in
the second half.
Speaker 2 (02:08:30):
Okay, hold hold on, hold on, hold on. So the game,
if we assume it starts at a neutral amount of momentum,
no team has any Okay, South Carolina goes into the
half winning thirty to three. Yeah, all the momentum in
(02:08:51):
the world, right, according by your own logic.
Speaker 1 (02:08:54):
And then Texas comes out and scores on him, starts
getting a little momentum. The coach. The coach starts it
was a swing.
Speaker 2 (02:09:01):
You're describing swing, you're just destroying. You're just describing a
and M played like ass In the first half, Marcel
Reid couldn't complete a pass through multiple interceptions. Momentum had
nothing to do with that. He just played bad, and
then in the second half he played good, outstanding.
Speaker 1 (02:09:19):
That's how this works. It's not momentum. It's individual's performance
that accumulates to the totality of a score. We could
go on and on about this, but no It's just
this is the perfect example that it doesn't exist. It
does exist because you give your boost your defense be like, okay,
we come out and score. What's possible. It was thirty
to three. I want to hear the halftime speech that
(02:09:43):
was given. Did you hear what Elko said? No?
Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
He said, I didn't give any rousing, fiery halftime speech.
Speaker 1 (02:09:51):
This was built in the summer. This was the.
Speaker 2 (02:09:53):
Grit we've built up all off season program. This was like,
I'm not a I don't give big, fiery speech as
to motivate these They knew what needed to be done.
Speaker 1 (02:10:02):
Kind of a ball like, kind of a badass like
he said something I would imagine something I would imagine
up the clip. Look what we saw, salty little a
m on on field po PO sheriff Oh not.
Speaker 2 (02:10:21):
I don't think he was an aggie. I don't think
he was a tech SAG police officer. I think that
was full.
Speaker 1 (02:10:28):
Full sheriff's apartment trooper. I sent it through the proper channels, LG,
proper channels.
Speaker 2 (02:10:35):
But did you alert him before the show that it
would be called for?
Speaker 1 (02:10:40):
You should know he's a professional. All right, here we
go roll it. This guy comes in and just shoulder
checks two of them and then he yells at him,
get your boys out there, because he's running to the
locker room because it looked like he was pulling a hammy.
So he's kind of like feeling it out, like what
was he doing? What was the point of going in
(02:11:02):
the locker room, Like he's going over there to tell
him to stop smoking like reefers.
Speaker 2 (02:11:07):
I think the point was he was an upset Aggie
fan who was not enjoying how that first half.
Speaker 3 (02:11:15):
He's been taking off a game duty as well.
Speaker 1 (02:11:16):
He has been taking off of the game permanently, permanently.
Speaker 2 (02:11:20):
I saw that for the rest of the year, for
the rest of the year.
Speaker 1 (02:11:23):
Okay, and Lebron James has called for a suspension.
Speaker 2 (02:11:27):
You know, I was waiting to form my opinion on
this situation until I heard what Lebron said about it.
Speaker 1 (02:11:34):
So I was like, I didn't want to think about
anything until Ron. I need to hold me feelings, and
here's my opinion.
Speaker 3 (02:11:41):
Next time you send me a video, don't send me
a video of someone taking a video out of their TV.
Send me the actual video.
Speaker 1 (02:11:48):
I am so glad, thank you, I'm so glad. I
was about to rip you on for it too, Okay,
the video of the TV spectacle, I knew that would
I look, dude, there's I mean, as much as you,
(02:12:09):
as much as you want to be back the blue
guy out there, there's no excuse for that. We don't
like that's right, Like, that's why people like I have
been We bet you a tall guy. I've been a
tall and big guy for most of my life and
you don't know how many of these short cops have
(02:12:29):
just given me crap, just to give me crap on
the beach, on anything. I remember walking up when there
was a scuffle in one of the beaches where my
guy knocked out like eight people and we and his
parents were getting arrested while his mom got decked. Like
he's sitting there in the ambulance. I'm like, why are
(02:12:49):
you arresting him? And they're like, hold on, they pull
what you do? They pull a gun on me and
I'm like yo, and they're like, back up, put me
in handcuffs. You're intimidating. Put me. Yeah, you're scared him,
You're a menacing force. Scared him. But yeah, that's the man.
Shame on y'all. Man. That was that was bad. Look
for Texas. The unfortunate thing about it all is and
(02:13:11):
he didn't get to see the comeback. Imagine as pissed
off as he was in the first half at the score,
he would have been losing his mind.
Speaker 2 (02:13:24):
Player right, yeah, hit me, LG. Do you have a
you have a fantasy update for US? Okay, all right,
well then I'll save that, LG. We'll save the real
Madrid video.
Speaker 1 (02:13:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:13:38):
The only other thing I had, obviously, LG was in
the room last night for the Mexico Paraguay friendly.
Speaker 1 (02:13:48):
Mexico might be on shaky ground going into score that
game because I was watching US beat You're gay, dude
one Dudex loses two to one to Paraguay, but they
tied that Uruguay squad. They tied zero zero on over
(02:14:08):
the weekend, So they haven't been good for like a
decade plus.
Speaker 2 (02:14:12):
It's a bit of a it's a bit of a
down cycle talent wise. It seems you mentioned US destroyed.
That's the same Iguay that beat beat them in the
Copa America.
Speaker 1 (02:14:26):
That lost that caused Berholter to lose his job.
Speaker 2 (02:14:29):
It's the US beat Paraguay earlier or over the weekends
because basically the two teams just they round robin both
the South American teams, both of those and Paraguay both
are in the World Cup.
Speaker 1 (02:14:44):
They've qualified, and I like, I like how the US
said these aren't friendlies to.
Speaker 2 (02:14:48):
Us, and also the way Poachattino said, don't don't refer
like a reporter asked him a question like how proud
are you of the guys on the field tonight was
since it wasn't the regulars, since a lot of the
regulars were missing, and Poachatino was like, no, no, no,
when you when you put on.
Speaker 1 (02:15:09):
This crest, you're you're this is you.
Speaker 2 (02:15:12):
Are the regular like this is this is the team.
Speaker 1 (02:15:15):
And that Brawly got in with Paraguay.
Speaker 2 (02:15:17):
Love seeing that too. There is I think Poachatino is
finally you're finally seeing an identity forming. It also aligns,
uh the last five games they've run three in the back,
so you're getting the players just look more comfortable, more offense,
understanding the system better. It's the first time the US
(02:15:39):
has gone undefeated five straight games against top forty opponents
since like twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen, the last of right,
so we're usst.
Speaker 1 (02:15:50):
We're hosting it along with Canada and Mexico. We got
to show out. Yeah, I just want to see I
would love to see a I just want to see
Canada take off.
Speaker 2 (02:16:02):
But I would love to see a USA Mexico game
in a World Cup knockout round on North American soil
next summer.
Speaker 1 (02:16:13):
The table.
Speaker 2 (02:16:14):
Yeah, so the the group draw is December fifth, so
we'll be here before you know it. And we got
a lot of other teams this this last weekend for
teams that we're still going through qualifying in conker Caaff
the rest of the teams Europe. We saw a lot
of late winners Ireland, Ireland getting in, Scotland getting in
(02:16:38):
on a late winter. So yeah, so we'll know the
exact group's first week of December.
Speaker 1 (02:16:42):
That's exciting, mel So. Time for the weekly Sports Cave
Live Fantasy Football wrap up. I like it, dude, the
captain cream the wild card and to him creaming all
over him? Why is it all about Creamy Because the
(02:17:05):
captain Cream's competition you don't have. It's not like you
have like Kevin Kreamer on your roster, Like there's not
a Creamer, a cream related name. You don't this is
what I want. I like it. I like it. So
he used one twenty eight over one point fifteen a
wild card. It was pretty nice. Out of top on there.
(02:17:27):
He was once in first place. Now he's in seventh.
Points matter. Remember that I said that last week. I'll
say it again this week. King Henry of the Hampton's
lost to a obliterating AI over Lords one thirty to
sixty nine. Eli Ubers. If you would have slotted someone
different instead of Brian Robin Brian Thomas Junior, you would
(02:17:51):
have taken out captain Chairman Miow, Chairman Miow, who squeaked
out when to eighty nine. I saw it, just a squeaker.
It was just a squeaker.
Speaker 2 (02:18:02):
It wasn't look they all count the same.
Speaker 1 (02:18:05):
That should have been a loss. All that's the same.
Points matter, Points matter. But you get Jonathan Taylor back
next week. So and then the Momentumers had it stopped
abruptly by Rikostraw Fergerson one thirty one to one oh
three eight off bushed all over game James Gang with
a Game of the Week of one twenty eight to
(02:18:26):
one twenty seven. Oh no, wait, who is that again?
Mister Adolph himself eid off Oliver.
Speaker 2 (02:18:33):
Yeah, James Gang, James Gang. So that was a seven
and four eight off Oliver beating a five and six
James games by one point.
Speaker 1 (02:18:43):
Yeah, so he was six and four. That might that
was that was a playoff in James. If you would
have won that game, you would have been in playoff contention, sir.
Speaker 2 (02:18:54):
How many teams make the playoffs against six? So half
the league is eliminated?
Speaker 1 (02:18:58):
Yeah, right now? And Papaya FC is cruising again. Defeats
Tulsa State fair handedly one twenty two to sixty five.
They are cruising as well. The look at standings, we
got three games, three games left. The captain is creaming
at the bottom of that table in the sixth position.
Speaker 2 (02:19:16):
You're right, you have the same position as your niners.
You're the last team into the playoffs right now.
Speaker 1 (02:19:22):
Yep, huh, but we're we're we're one of the scariest team.
Speaker 2 (02:19:26):
If only my Cowboys had the same position I do,
because uh, it looks like I'm kind of looking down
on everybody.
Speaker 1 (02:19:33):
Papaya guy, I would have been I would have been
in fifth position, but Pia has Uh was that not
even eight point eighteen points higher than me? That's what's eighteen? Yeah,
less than one tent? One tenth?
Speaker 2 (02:19:48):
Oh dang, oh yeah, I'm looking at two tents.
Speaker 1 (02:19:50):
So points matter, Like if this was like I've been
outsted out of the playoffs before by less than one Okay,
that is a brutal And educate me. When do the
playoffs start week fifteen and we're in week twelve? Yes,
so you got three more games, okay, and look at
(02:20:11):
your points. You were top of the leaderboard, but now
I'm still top by like over you were like by
over one hundred points. But with this little flopper you
did this one, We'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (02:20:22):
Don't worry about you need to worry about making sure
you make the playoffs. Don't worry about my points total
at the top of the podium.
Speaker 1 (02:20:31):
Captain's in good position.
Speaker 2 (02:20:33):
I think I am. I'm mathematically in.
Speaker 1 (02:20:37):
Yeah, you're mathematically should be in. Yeah. So if you
go eight and.
Speaker 2 (02:20:42):
Six, I think I'd still get in because one of
the one of the six and five teams still have
to play each other.
Speaker 1 (02:20:48):
You would have to you'd have to like really score low,
low low points, like you're like ninety nine percent chance.
Speaker 2 (02:20:55):
I hope we play each other in the playoffs. Hit me,
olg Let's get out of here. I'd pulled this just you.
If you ever, if you ever think that I don't
appreciate your absurd East Coast West Coast fandoms, If you.
Speaker 1 (02:21:11):
Don't think I support America, that's right, East Coast, West Coast,
South Coast, and.
Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
I support the fly the real Patriot states, the flyover
states like Dallas, Texas and San Antonio.
Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
No.
Speaker 2 (02:21:26):
Uh, your Niners fandom is well documented. Your Yankee minute
is the stuff of legend, the lore, and the.
Speaker 1 (02:21:38):
Must listen to second if you want it.
Speaker 2 (02:21:42):
I think you might have to compete with John here,
because this might be this might be the best Yankee
minute I've ever heard in my life.
Speaker 1 (02:21:53):
Let's go to John and messpath. Hey, John m is
an eighty en He bit off more than he can choose.
He read the wrong cards. Now you had a deal
with this one here, wonder over paint ball and the

Speaker 1 (02:22:42):
I don't know why, I know, I'm so angry. Listen
calling here, John, somebody check on, John, somebody check out.
Do you think we're gonna need the drop of Brian Cashman?
You idiot? Oh man? So they picked a tring. Grisson
(02:23:05):
signed his qualifying offer for twenty two million to come back,
but had the best year ever. And if he repeats
it good. If he doesn't, it's one year. Yeah. Maybe
if we're still not we're still gonna go for outfielder.
We're gonna spin big this year.
Speaker 2 (02:23:20):
Maybe if he starts to struggle in the playoffs, you
don't hit him lead off every game, despite maybe you
let your manager make the decisions instead of your front
office basing it off.
Speaker 1 (02:23:31):
I got some problem analytics one Aaron f and Boone
and Brian Cashman. So does John and Maspith. I feel
his pain.
Speaker 2 (02:23:40):
I know you do, and listen, but better make it up.
Speaker 1 (02:23:42):
The Japanese godzion of himself. He come back over and
we're gonna get it in that boom out of left field.
Speaker 2 (02:23:56):
Radio should not be a wrestling promo. The fact that
idiot mouth breathers.
Speaker 1 (02:24:01):
Listening to w f A N enjoy that. Literally, enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (02:24:08):
