Light the beam and buckle up—this episode of The Sports Cave with Biggest Puma is a full-throttle ride through the sports equinox we all experienced this weekend. Sam, Cap, and LG dive deep into the chaos, drama, and historic feats of last night’s 18-inning World Series marathon, along with the staple segments Spurs & Cow Notes along the way, followed by a NFL Week 8 Recap in the main seggy.

From Shohei Ohtani’s record-setting performance—getting on base nine times—to Freddie Freeman’s second career walk-off World Series homer, this episode is packed with jaw-dropping moments and razor-sharp analysis. The crew breaks down the defensive masterclasses, clutch plays, and controversial calls, while also spotlighting the unsung heroes like Will Klein and Tommy Edman. But it’s not just baseball—Sam and the gang touch on:
  • The Spurs’ historic 4–0 start and their upcoming shot at 5–0 Thursday night
  • Cowboys struggles continue in Colorado, but this time it's not just the defense
  • A wild week of NFL Week 8 recaps and Week 9 Picks

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Light the beam. Indeed, let's get to it because we
have so much s to get to tonight and not
enough time to do it. Welcome into the Sports Cave
with Biggest Puma, a Tuesday night edition of the program,
here broadcasting live from the north side of San Antonio.
As always, I am your host, Sam Freeze, also known

(00:35):
as the Biggest Puma, joined in the room.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
By co host Cap across the table.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
There we go uh and uh in parts unknown, also
known as a separate room, the man responsible for making
sure this thing gets on the airwaves. Mister LG, how
are we doing, fellas I'm here.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yeah, that's a little tired after that game last night. Yeah,
I think uh ups down.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I would imagine you are not alone in that uh
in that group. It's I was doing the show with
Andy earlier this afternoon, and I was proud and happy
to hear that he stayed up for the entirety. Wow,
Andy's a steam head. He's an old school Andy. Andy
doesn't buy the MLB TV package. He buys the MLB

(01:32):
radio package. That's how much.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, he's while walking around HB.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
A thousand percent just to Andy's a giant Yankee fan
like you.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
So he's doing it so you can hear it.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
We're out there, we're surrounded, We're surrounded by idiots, I
mean a fan like y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Uh as always as customary.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Now as we get incredibly hyped for the Immirates NBA.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Cup Final, hey are we favorites coming down.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
On Tuesday, December sixteenth, which means we are under fifty days.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
We are forty nine days away from the NBA.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Because the Emirates trophy looked like.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Uh well they busted it out last year as soon
as they got all that Immirate money.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah. I was about to say it would be like
gold diamond crusted, you know, it's oiled, an oil type
like Dyke just throwing out diamonds in the middle.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It looks very much like ah, it looks very much
like a European soccer trophy.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, they went that route because that's I mean, that's
what they're emulating the whole.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Nd season tournament. That's a European.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Soccer idea that they're uh, finding new ways to cram
down our throat despite the fact that we love basketball
and it's more meaningful. Yeah, we sure, I almost broke
the FCC role right there. We sure as shoot do
because we got a lot of spurs to get to.

(03:05):
Of course four and oh start tying their best record
ever to start a season. We got Spurs notes, we
got col notes, malto, I'm not exactly sure how many
notes we need to get to from that game Sunday
in Denver.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Of course, the main segie will be a NFL.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Week eight recap, also looking back on our picks from
last week and Lightning Round to close it out, but
some housekeeping to start. This is going to be our
only live show as of right now for the week
we are Yeah, well, I love I love how the
man playing the drops is the one acting like it's

(03:45):
a surprise.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
So okay, one of.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
The three of us attached to this program have a
job to do Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Do you have any the super secret job that he's
doing is he told me, but he was supposed to
tell me. So what he's doing actually.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Is he's filming for the only fans convention that's in town.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
All the avns are coming here.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
What I've always questioned the individual that goes to the
a v.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
N, you bet a question on producer but I.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Also feel like it's one of those things I need
to do one time in my life.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Is that DVD in here?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
No, but the picture with what's his name is right
there in the corner.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
The one and only LG got to meet the legend himself.
Larry's staring at.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
The picture of Larry Flint trying to realize why there's
this super fan snuggling up next to him. No, Cap,
you don't have a job to do Thursday night. I
don't have a job to do Thursday night. But LG
will be back with his number one priority. LG's got
the Spurs game Thursday Giant Thursday night in San Antonio,

(05:02):
Spurs going for their first five and oh start ever
in franchise history. UTSA playing a nationally televised game against
ranked or I guess there.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
I don't think two lanes ranked, but they're six and one.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
So we've got Frost Bank with the Spurs, Alamodome with UTSA,
and unfortunately LG out of the room working the Spurs game,
so we will not be live Thursday night. I also
will not be on with Andy Thursday because he's doing
the two hour pregame show for the UTSA game.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
I mean we could have done it Friday, but somebody
had other engagements. If we want to get into it, so.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Friday Friday, I will be not only out of the room,
but out of the city all together. And and more
than likely it's it's a concert. It's a concert on
Halloween night. And it's one one of my favorite current bands.

(06:02):
Like they are so clear of whoever is second right now,
that's correct, yeah, close.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
It's the Viagra Boys. The viagraa Boy are playing.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
At far Out Lounge over in Austin Friday night, Halloween Night.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
There's a spectacular and stereo lab.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I wouldn't like I've had ud like. It seemed like
their live set is very entertaining, and I mean they
bring like an eight piece band on with them.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, and they're all Swedes, so they're all very into
unison and synchronicity and coordination.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
It's very it's.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Drug music, for lack of a better word. It's it's
exactly what it is. It's a lot of heavy instrumentation,
a lot of absurd lyrics.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So I will.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, legal legal ketamine only available from a todd over
in Austin. If you if you know somebody, now we'll
be over there Friday night. So this whole week is
getting shuffled around. But fear not, we have We're gonna
cram as much as we can into the show tonight,
which means not a whole lot of dilly dallying around

(07:12):
talking about National First Responders Day, the shout.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Out, shout out heroes man, they deal with a lot.
I was actually no.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I just said, we don't have time to talk about
it though, because we've got so much to get.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
First Responders get one second, Well, then then we have
to cut time away from.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
National Chocolate Day or National Wild Foods Day.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Look, we've got we got so much to get to here.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
So I like to drizzle chocolate on your.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Wild mushrooms that you forage for and pick from the wild.
Vance Jackson. Yeah, the uh, just look for the purple
skirts the causeway. Look for the blue cats is what
you should be looking for.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Uh No, it's uh.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I mean shout out National first Responders Day.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
But we've got so much to get too, so let's
jump right into it our weekend recap. We have so
much to get to I don't even have time to
talk about the fact that there was a beetle in
my neighborhood this weekend, like the band Beatle or that's correct, Yeah,
like a Volkswagen Beetle.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Well, there's a bunch.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Of I was about to say there's probably and a
bunch of Beatles because it's a one hundred and twenty
year old out there's a lot. There's a lot of
ways for those guys to get in. No, I mean
Paul McCartney in the neighborhood this weekend, the Alamodome and
the whole neighborhood was absolutely crazy. But we don't even
have time for that.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
He's still doing one man band shows.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Yeah, apparently, apparently it was one of those shows.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
I might have should have found a way to sneak
in to get inside. Yeah, apparently he played pretty much
all the hits anything you would want to hear, Yeah,
from all the different eras. So if you are a
boomer or a nostalgic millennial or Gen.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
X or Beetles were overrated time and place.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
When you're the first person to do things, Uh it really.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
I was a Crosby Stills Nash guy.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
That actually checks out.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, I actually can kind of I can kind of
see that right there with Peter, Paul and Mary I
would take you more as the folk the drug music
of that time, of that era.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Still one of my favorite bands is Violent Films.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Oh yeah, Violin. I saw them matt Aztec God.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
It's probably it's been six seven, eight years ago, and
they for their encore they played Yellow Rose, the old
Bob Will song, and it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I love it because they did they jam basically jam
banded out stand up bass and all kinds of random instruments.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
We have no time for this. What are we doing?

Speaker 1 (09:49):
We have no time?

Speaker 3 (09:50):
We got we have gotten to talk. I'm so glad.
I'm so glad I showed you, showed you that. Uh,
let's start with the weekend recap is going.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
To basically be baseball talk because since we were last
in the room, the World Series has gotten not only interesting,
but historically interesting.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Now, after the last night's game.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I didn't realize that the last time this they tied
the World Series record. But the tie was only a
couple of years ago.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah, well at twenty eighteen.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yeah, against the Red Sox.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
In Dodgers Stadium, in the same stadium.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
So it's like, I'm like, I don't even remember that one. Well,
because I probably boycotted that game.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I basically for personal reasons. Dodgers Red Sox. That's a
that's a hard ass to get you interested in. Yeah,
I don't feel I mean, obviously that game is going
to be the matching feet in terms of the history book.

(10:59):
But what we saw last night was so much more
memorable than anything we got from that game.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
The fact that A there was like what to throwouts
at the plate? You had, you know, clutch hits, a
clutch homer by Otani, two clutch homers by Otani. Then
Blag comes to get it, like I mean before the
last homer, Blag comes around from first in scores with

(11:28):
there was so many do you remember in the first
inning the blunder by Toronto where it was supposedly a
late call. So that's where I started watching it, where
I'm like, is this gonna is this gonna somehow bite
them in the ass. So to say that one's safe,

(11:50):
you can say that you were talking FCC off the
air like what I can and can't.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, well now you're now you're together, clo closer to
the guardrail.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
It wasn't even that, so it was you know, Bobashet
getting thrown out at first because they thought it was
ball four.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
And then also it I.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Feel like you have to think about the game last
night as game one in game two, so game one,
in the first nine innings, you saw Bobaschet get thrown
out at first. You saw a former Gold Glover, Tommy Edmond,
make the error at second base that allowed run, ended
up should have been the end of the inning, ends
up giving Toronto the opportunity and they end up putting

(12:37):
runs on the board. But you also saw Edmund I
guess this was in game two. You saw him end
up making an amazing throw to gun a guy out
at third base after Freddie Freeman had the ball bounce
off his glove, trying to make the.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Player jumped off of first to go throw out the
person at third, because that would have been you know what,
what was that? One out or two outs? If you
have one out on third, you know, sacriphone.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Sac fly is all you need at that point.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
And all of that to say, we also saw a
guy do something that has only ever been done in
all of baseball history, not just counting the playoffs. These
are the years that a guy has gotten on base
nine times in a baseball game. Nineteen twenty two, nineteen

(13:27):
thirty two, and nineteen forty two. Yeah, and now twenty
twenty five because Otani had four extra base hits, two doubles,
two home runs and five walks, four of them intentional,
and really the fifth one might as well have been.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I mean they weren't going to They learned their lesson
after allowing him to hit the solo shot to tie
it up in the eighth.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
That was he's getting the Judge treatment.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
He's getting the Bonds treatment. It's not the Judge treatment
because Judge has never been one six straight times?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
How many in a playoff? How many does Bonds have? None?
Just the one? Right?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
They won the one year with j T. Snow when
he was we had two thousands.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
I thought it was two thousands, and like twenty eleven,
they started their three like their three and five years.
I don't think Bonds ever got a ring. No, he doesn't,
he doesn't. Bond.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I thought they I could have swam.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
They went to the series and they got Yeah, they
got smacked.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
It was that one time.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
It was O two, the only World Series appearance he had, golly,
and that was the what Troy Glaus Uh, Those that
Darren Erstad yet of Anaheim Angels back then. Man, I'd
forgotten that was the whole rally monkeys? Was it not
where that started exactly? Yeah, I don't know how much

(14:55):
more you can say about.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
How about the relievers coming in with the second half
of the game two last night? You know, the side
the last nine innings, both sides, great defensive plays. I
can't I can't even count how many warning track balls
that look like home runs sounded like home runs.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Certainly sounded like home runs to Joe Davis, the guy
doing play by play, who also just happens to be
the Dodgers play by play guy for the entire regular season,
so you get to hear basically his local version of
the broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Man he was getting so.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Hyped to he was he's becoming.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
A bat flipping too, where they like there was premature
bat flipping, but also the ladies don't like it.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I don't. I don't mind the premature bat flipping because.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
He makes some look stupid.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Yeah, I mean, first of all, it's one of two
things that's gonna happen. Either you're gonna look really stupid
and I'm gonna enjoy that, or it's going to make
the moment look that much.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Cooler, Like when they showed the replay this is off
the other team and I'm like, oh, here comes a
boat tie.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah, just just wait for that high and inside.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Yeah, you got to hear Joe Davis explain the weather
dynamics of Chavez Ravine and how if it was sixty
five degrees and that's why the ball died at the
warning track if it had been if it had been
in the third inning where it was still seventy two degrees, then.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
His meteorology exactly, we have a local meteorologist letting you
know that a sports science on this.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Dude, he dug deep. A shout out, John Brincus, rest
in power King. He was digging deep into Like throughout
the regular season, a ball hit at one hundred and
two miles an hour with that launch angle would have
been a home run twenty two out of forty five times.
So it really was the flip of a coin. It's like, dude,
you just you got oh you got a little too excited.

(17:00):
You wanted to have your Dodgers moment. You ended up
getting your Dodgers moment when eventually Freddy Freeman becomes the
first guy ever again talking about the history that we
saw last night, Freddy Freeman now the only player with
two walk off home runs in World Series history.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
When he did that, I was like that one. I
was like, pass to go. I was like, it has
to be gone. No, baplip, just set the bat down.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
He did it the hard way too.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
He went dug like, I'm at the bars two o'clock.
Come on, man, see I we were. I was obviously
with no dog in the fight here. I mean, I
guess oh.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
I got tired. I was like, come on, sixteen names.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I don't want to see I don't want to see
the Dodgers win, but I certainly don't like seeing Canada
win either.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
So it feels like it's a.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
That's our neighbor to the north, Sirvich.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Yeah, but it's America's pastime, not Canada's. It's the same way,
the equivalent of like I don't like seeing a Canadian
I don't want to see a Canadian team win the
Stanley Cup ever again. I want to see America dominate
their sport, and I want to see us dominate them
in our sports.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Greedy.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I'm when it comes to sports, I am full blown nationalists.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Baby, Like, no, they're taking away the never ending pancakes
at I hop you know.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Well that's a that's a catastrophe.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
I do have, Uh, I have other chain restaurant news
to break in the lightning round, because we have While
that might be devastating news, we do have good news elsewhere.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
I don't know they are. I'm just saying the maple
syrup shortage is true.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah, I mean again, like I was rooting, I wanted
them to play twenty seven, like give me, I want chaos.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
I want to want in history. I was like, Okay,
let's go nineteen, you know, but.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, I also was curious to see we ended up
seeing Yamamoto, uh you know, apparently volunteer to go to
the bullpen and warm.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Up warm and I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Well they Joe Davis had said on the broadcast.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
At first, apparently they asked Dave Roberts in between innings
in like the sixteenth inning, who pitches after Will Klein,
and Dave Roberts had said, we're gonna go positional player,
which would have been insane, like like and at that point,
I'm hoping.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
To see that, like I want to see I want to.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Right something ridiculous, you know, like if you're if you've
already given me eighteen innings, you've already given me a
guy that's gotten on base nine times, uh, tied tying
in baseball record. Eventually we got the record with you know,
the history with Freddie Freeman. But at that point, just
give me the most wild ass scenario possible and let

(19:49):
me keep seeing something I've never seen before in my life.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
You mentioned the.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
What about Kershaw with the last probably like if they
use him, it's gonna be something crazy like that.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Again, he should have walked in a run if that,
if Lucas had any play.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
That ump was horrible. He tied it up at the
end of the game. At the game of the game,
he was all over the place. But Kershaw, he.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Threw two ball fours in that base that bases loaded.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Retired year, he's not even supposed to be pitching, comes
in two hours, bases loaded. When's the last time he's pitched.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Well, the Phillies rock geame in in that series?

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Was that round two?

Speaker 1 (20:36):
So like it's ridiculous, Like I just always saw that,
and I'm like, man, this man's gonna get hit on
and it's just gonna.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
I thought that was I mean, I didn't have a
whole lot of hope for Kershaw to get out of
there without allowing full count.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
That was like, oh buddy, oh buddy.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
But again, I think the only way, the only way
you see Kershaw pitch again his entire career, which is
the extent of however long this series goes. The only
time I think you've seen pitch again is if the
game tonight or tomorrow goes eighteen innings again, yeah, or

(21:17):
it ends up being a blowout one way or another
and you're looking at a ten to two game.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
And the Twins are at the ten to.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Two game in the sixth in. I didn't know she
had sisters. It's a big family.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
They're they're they're really big.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
It's a big family, big big family tree.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
They eat a lot of eat a lot of a.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Lot of wild foods on this National Wild Foods Day.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
My eyes were attained. Yeah, we do.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Have the game. We do have the game on in here.
It's two to one Toronto.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
She had the little Marilyn Monroe haircut top of the
fifth Maybe she maybe she's doing a movie where that
would be about Maryland's life. Yeah, he's curby enough.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Yeah. I was about to say that would actually be
believable to some extent, but we digressed.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
We got a lot to get to you man. Come on, you.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Mentioned the game in twenty eighteen that went eighteen innings.
Did you see this fun fat fact floating around? So
in twenty seventeen World Series Game two went eleven innings? Okay,
twenty eighteen Game three went eighteen innings. That Dodgers Red
Sox game. Last year Game one went to extra innings,

(22:32):
went to ten innings, and then of course last night
went to eighteen innings. Do you know what those four
games all have in common with each other?

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Dodgers Nope?

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Well actually yeah, yeah, but that's Do you know what
else they have in common?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Same picture, very close.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
One, same individual was involved in all four of those games.
He was standing in frun of the fifty thousand plus
crowd last night with his little guitar, just playing one
straw amount of time. Oh, Brad Paisley saying the national

(23:13):
anthem at every single one of those games. Brad Paisley
sang the national anthem at the two longest World Series
games in baseball history.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
What a random I wonder if he's just gonna get
hired and all the advertising sponsors is going to be
like MLBS, just let's bring in the Ringer. Yeah we need,
we need Yeah, we we're gonna need Paisley. He's like
the uh.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Like when the NBA would bring Joey Crawford in the
call games to extend a series or what was it?

Speaker 3 (23:44):
What was it wasn't Joey, there was a uh. There
was that other NBA official that was Scott Foster. Scott
Foster was always the one that when you need but
it's an elimination game and Scott Foster is called the
game as the official at lead official.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
The majority, it was like eighty percent of the time
the team losing the series wins that game.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
The NBA, No, I mean the NBA with all his
betting scandals and everything like that.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
The zero zero integrity issues whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Somehow getting all the calls once again, you know.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
If you're referring to last night, they could have gotten
zero of the calls.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
And wouldn't have mattered. It was Mariota. I love how
they try to make that game up by being like,
you know, the two highest rated quarterbacks on Monday Night
football in the last so odd years is Jaden Daniels
and Marcus Mariota And I'm like, that's not going to
stop it?

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Yeah, stop it?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Do you think that it's going to be a routing?
And and do.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
You know who wasn't convinced by that fun fact?

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Vegas?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Because that was a double digit point spread last night?
Oh was the Chiefs covered two and a half?

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Oh my god, it even got up to eleven in
some places. But yeah, as we I will say this series,
I feel like, was you know, back to the world series.
It was missing a little bit of juice until last night.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Now I'm you know, if Toronto ends up because it
was two routes, right, and there wasn't.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
A whole lot. It looked very.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Without being overly dramatic. It looked like Toronto got their
win in Game one in a big way and then
it was just gonna be Dodgers in five and they
were gonna they won Game two.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
They got the three star.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
See that's why I but at least, oh no, they
lose this game. It's Dodgers in five.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yeah, I completely agree, But after watching last night, at least,
now if Toronto responds tonight, it feels like we do
have a potential all time series.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
They don't have Springer No. One of the most clutch
hitters in postseason history.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, he turned up lame last night in extra innings
during an at bat and immediately grabbed for his side.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Which when this thing goes to the bullpen, which it will,
who's gonna have Like the thing with seven game series,
this is why we always get the good games later
in which seven games series are always magical and it's
always an offensive explosion. Most likely is because you've seen
the bullpens so many times. You know what, you know
what they got.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
And also statistically, the Dodgers' bullpen this postseason has been
over six ERA and the Blue Jays have been over five.
So I think it's really like last night was a
perfect example that Will Klein kid throws four scoreless innings,

(26:51):
throws seventy two pitches, more than double the most he
had ever thrown.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
It's going to be performances like that.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Yeah, Like if the Dodgers win the series in six
or seven, it'll be because Will Klein gave them four
innings of shutout ball in Game three. Like it, it
feels like the series now there are. I can actually
see the two paths, whereas before it felt like it
was just inevitably going to steer toward the Dodgers. Now

(27:21):
the Blue Jays have the disappointment of last night, come
back win this game tonight, and I feel like there's
some uh you know, unquantifiable emotional value of responding as
quickly if they can win this tonight, responding to the
disappointment of losing the way they did last night.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
And then all of a sudden, it's a two to
two series.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
And two of the remaining three games are back at
your stadium, where you know your crowd is going to
be absolutely insane if you can just get it to
a six pack seven, A lot of beady little eyes,
lot of beady.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Little eyes through five? How many? How many innings do
you think?

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (28:05):
Shohan is gonna go?

Speaker 2 (28:07):
I love how he's a mixture of Jeremy Sohan, Shoho
Tani and the Zoron or Zohan the old stupid Adam
Sandler hairdresser movie. I can't imagine he goes beyond six yeah,
I mean even he might be done now, I mean,
what's the what's the pitch count up to?

Speaker 1 (28:29):
I don't know. It's been going kind of fast.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
I just can't imagine they I think.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
He threw nineteen pitches the first inning, but he hasn't
matched that yet again, so.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I can't imagine they do anything that would potentially risk,
you know, stretching him. So he's at seventy six pitches
right now.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
He gets a good six inning, they they gotta bring
him out with a seven because your bullpens.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Yeah, I mean, it's uh.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
And if you want your if you want your shine,
you know, Yamamoto's already shown you up. God Yamamoto.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yamamoto's back to back complete game master classes like this.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
What if he gets another back to back, another shutout inning,
and it's hard for me, not like our shutout game
and only gives up like one run to win it,
it's hard for me not to pick him for MVP.
But you know it's gonna go to a Tony.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
I don't know if that's the case.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
I mean, if if Yamamoto throws another complete game, I mean,
that wouldn't be till that wouldn't be That would be
potentially a game seven, wouldn't it. I'm trying to think
of where where his spot in the rotation is.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Wellbe it's game two, so it would be game six, Okay,
so you would get yeah, it had to like we
they have to lose. You know, are they doing two
three two format? Yeah, yeah, it's that's so they have
to lose the game three, Game five at home.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
If Yamamoto throws a complete game in the deciding game,
I think, yeah, I think that's your unless I mean,
I mean, at the same time, Otani's ops for the
last seven games. It's like it's over two man, it's
it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
But he's not been Like was he good on the
first two games? I mean the fact last night ulous.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Yeah, no players ever had four extra base hits in
a World Series game and he had two doubles, two
home runs.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
You sure on that one? Pretty positive on that one.
This is me correcting you. Unless Joe Davis Reggie, Reggie
had three home runs, you tell him he didn't have
a double that game.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
I don't believe. So most extra.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
He was? He was? He he got the reck for
most on bases.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah, no, Otani. The only other time that's been done
nineteen oh six.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
So it has been done.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Oh I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I meant the most extra base like he tied the
record for the hits in a in a postseason game.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Okay, I thought you said he had the record, So.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
It's him and frank isbel so Frank ye sweet Frankie
six that that's the company he now has with show
Heo Tawani. Yeah, I mean I'm again.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Last night made me way more interested in tonight's game because, uh,
you know, I feel like we might we might have
a seven gamer, not just a seven gamer, but potentially
an all time world series if this thing.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
They let Tany go back and put some extra pintar
Knight's back, see, you know, special treatment. Here's the well,
I'm sure he called time out, used his one time out.
They're going to give him that. Oh when he strikes
out on three pitches, it's interesting, not my MVP. It's
interesting that he the Blue Jays here decide to pitch

(32:08):
to him though.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Yeah, it's still a one run game. It's only the
fifth inning.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
I would like to see the stat.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Walked him weavery at bat so far?

Speaker 1 (32:18):
What's his stats batting? The stats when he's pitching, that's
a good question. I wonder if the splits are like
considerable because he's so consumed. And he he's already said
he loves pitching way more than he loves batting, you know,
but he's so locked in on pitching, especially the World Series.

(32:39):
He's this is his dream. And like he didn't get
to pitch last year, did he?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Or no now because he was rehabbing, recovering from the injury.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeah, so this is his dream. And I think we
just saw three straight pitches. Man, he didn't even swing
with the last one.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yeah, he's probably, I mean again, he's all all already
thinking about going out and getting.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Through that sixth thing. I'm curious.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
I'm gonna make a note of that because I want
to see.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Uh, I bet the.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Offensive numbers they are they have to yeah, are significantly lower.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Oh, Tony splits win pitching.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
So yeah, we've got the game on in the room
with us, so we will keep an eye on that.
But before we get too much further behind the clock,
let me make my note here. Eight thirty eight, Margt
means it's time for some Spurs notes. And by god,
by golly geez, it's a fun time to be a
Spurs fan. Bay Man, where do you even want to start?

(33:46):
So four and oh ties the team record for the
best ever start, first time they've done it.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Was shocked at that record.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
So they asked Wemby in the post game after the
home opener on Sunday, or maybe it was last night.
It might have been last night after the game with Toronto,
how you know how much are you focused on getting
to five and oh becoming the first Burst team to
ever get there? And he was like, what, wait, really, yeah,

(34:17):
they've never started the teams that actually did it, weren't there.
Weren't our big three phaves you see that? Like it
was we when we.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Had DeRozan, it was when we had Aldridge, when we
had Kawhi was out that year after he stepped on
the foot what two thousand and sixteen because we won
twenty fourteen. Yeah, and then the next year we were
trying to repeat what kwhi It was.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
La Petulia, Yeah, Zaza's giant foot sliding under Kawhi's landing posh.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Yeah, Like it was like none of those teams, none
of the championship teams started out four and oh.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
And I think there's there's two ways to look at that.
There's one of your start obviously like a stupid cliche.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
It doesn't matter how you start, it matters how you finish,
which you know four and oh when you look at
the full eighty two game season, four and oh is
the same as winning four games in the middle of January,
as it is.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
My thing is we were contenders back then, so they
made the first like look at the thunder who they
played the first four games?

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Oh yeah, the Marquee matchups to start play.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
You know, we haven't played a Golden State Dallas the
worst offensive team in the league right now by a
wide wide margin. Cooper Flag looks like an eighteen year
It looks looks like an eighteen year old playing against men.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Yeah, and also injured now as well, which helps Dylan
Harper and VJ edgecombs Ki at the year rating, which
and what this I love and hate, Like I gotta
turn my mind frame around from the yester years of

(36:15):
when we were contenders and winning chips and stuff like,
and we expected to win every year and we got
disrespected and it.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Was always Lebron James talk, always Kobe talk, always anybody
else but the Spurs talk to. This is what's leading
off on first take, this is what's leading up on
NBA TV. This is what's leading up on anything NBA related.
It's Wimby Yama. He's already odds on favor, but he's
second by that slim margin for MVP talk, Yes, still behind,

(36:49):
you know, and I don't understand how SGA doesn't have
the defense Wimby does and that that that's part of
the MVP.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah, SCA has the team success. That's what's driving his
MVP campaign. Obviously winning it last year, them winning the title. Uh,
it was it was always going to be him as
the clear four runner or front runner for the MVP
this year.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
But I don't think.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
I mean, the fact that Wemby has closed that gap
as quickly as he has is the is the real
storyline because, like you said, as the season goes on,
if Wemby can even keep up eighty percent of the
stats he's averaged so far, it's going to be really real.

(37:42):
And if the Spurs again continue the team's success, it's
going to be hard.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
For MVO one true all star right when g and
Fox whinsy Whin's he expected to come back.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Still still no word day to day.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Still, I mean you remember on Open Night when we
were talking about it. So the reporters, uh, majority of
the Spurs beat guys, we're saying two to three games
and Fox and so Hand will both be back. Now
we're four games in them. I think that's and that's

(38:19):
where you know, when I think about what what does
this four and oh start actually mean? Besides four regular
season wins, what it means is you don't have to
rush Fox and so Hand to come back. You're guys
that are playing. It's more minutes for guys like Carter Bryant,
it's more minutes for Champenny. It's more minutes for Dylan

(38:43):
Harper as the.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
The second scorer behind like him in Castle right there.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
Specifically, though more minutes with him as the main playmaker
facilitator on the court. Same way for Castle as well,
because you mentioned it. When Fox does come back, you
know that is that is your ball dominant point guard,
your ball dominant guard that's going to be added to

(39:12):
that rotation. So there's going to be a shift not
only in you know, minutes for the rest of the
guys on the bench that will slot back into lesser roles,
but it's going to be less time with the ball
in your hand when de Aaron Fox is on the court.
So that's where you know, the early experience of a
guy like Dylan Harper getting these opportunities without Daron Fox

(39:36):
suiting up is only going to benefit the Spurs in
the long run when Fox is eventually back, which shouldn't
be much.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
And I'll and I'll tell you, like the New Orleans
game scared me, that went down to the wire, the
one after who do we play? Who do we play?
After New Orleans? We played Toronto sold yesterday.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Yeah, that was the I got a fun one for
you for that.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
It was the nets, the nets that went down. That
was close. We had to break it out in the
last three minutes.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Yeah, made a fake come back there at the end.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
But the stats, so we have the highest point differential
in the league with sixteen and a half, and are
we have the lowest. We have the best defensive squad
with only allowing one hundred and four points.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
And that's sustainable.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
That's sustainable. The closest ones are the defensive driven Knicks
at one oh seven. I guess Chicago is turning around
doing defensive They're at one ten.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
That's not sustainable, not sustainable.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
And then you got the thunder who went to two
overtimes but playing quality teams. They're at one thirteen. You know,
so Wimby the winby effect, who extended the streak to
like what eighty eighty five eighty.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Got a block with three point fifty nine left in
the fourth quarter. Extend the streak to eighty nine straight
games with at least one block tie, either tied, or
he passed Patrick Ewing. He's now like fourth longest streak
all time.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Now you need to correct that. I think you need
to correct that stat because he passed I think Elgin
Baylor or something. But Patrick Ewing is the record holder.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Oh is that okay?

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah? Right, wait, I think he's halfway there. God, that's
how bad Like Patrick Ewing was a bad man on defense.
But yeah, check out those stats. But I'll like when
beyond every game, when you hear the All Stars of
the league say he does something every game that just

(41:47):
makes you just drop your jaw and be like, how
is this freaking even possible?

Speaker 2 (41:52):
One hundred and forty five straight games for Patrick Ewing,
So he's at.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
Sixty plus gis it means.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
He keeps it going throughout this whole year. He would
end up passing in the back half of the regular
which is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
How many DP Defensive Player of the Years did Patrick
Ewing win? I know he won like three or four.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Yeah, it's but that's the level you're talking. So in
one in one sentence, we're comparing Wimby to Patrick Ewing,
and then in the other sentence we're comparing him to
Jamal Crawford or Allen Iverson with the hand like did
you see the move last night as he's bringing the
ball in just behind the bag?

Speaker 1 (42:33):
You know, it's like it's ridiculous. That's just coming up
the floor going against right effortless.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Like that's the level of Uh, that's the level of
absurdity you're seeing night after night.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
It's not it's not the.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Drive to the whole three sixties, the three.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Sixty layups awesome, the the alley oop where he fakes
the screen and slips to the basket.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
Uh for the dunk, like all of the logo three,
all of the after he blocks two shots and then
pulls up Like all of those highlights are insane and
draw the you know, clicks and eyeballs.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
But it's even the small stuff, like you said, like
just bringing the ball up the court's.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Something you've probably never seen someone seven foot five be
able to do and now it might actually be seven six.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
The genetic experiment of Yaoming. They like, this is what
they were trying to produce, but they did not. The
French got it right.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
Yeah, but insane.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
And his brother's coming. His brother is eighteen years old.
He will be in the draft. I don't know this year,
next year.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Yeah, but I think we might have a Fannas versus
Yannis situation.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
One's the better one.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Yeah, which again.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
We're talking about the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference
players of the week in between Wemby and Yannis. So
like it's if you're not as good as your older brother,
it's not like it's your older brother was all district
and you were honorable mentioned like those guys are all
time great.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
So like it isn't Lebron and BROWNI here, you know
what I'm saying, We're not that far of a gap.
But no, I don't think so there's still is a gap.
But I mean the one thing that shout out to me,
he didn't even attempt to three yesterday, shot eighty five
percent from the field. I like that, Like what was
it nine for eleven? Right, something like that, and he's

(44:29):
not like he's just not selling on those threes. He
averaged nine three pointers a game last year. Nine. So
the work with the King, the work with as you said,
Jamal Crawford on the handles, KG. Yeah, KG, he's putting.
He is literally they showed a side by side picture
yesterday of him doing it, like the like the dream like, oh,

(44:53):
the faint turnaround, back fade away, the dream shape. Yeah,
the dream shake. And he's doing exactly what he's He's
teachable and that is very rare in a superstar like
that to be willing to be taught and not get
that ego, you know.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Yeah, I mean again, I think just add that to
the as special as he is as a player. That's
another way, like the mold ability, the openness, the thirst
for knowledge, you know, the can't forget the monks.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Yeah, you know, like to get your mind right.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
Right, because that's a big part of it too.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
One of the stats I saw Spurs pr put this
out last night or this morning. So nine times in
basketball history and NBA history a team has been held
to twenty rebounds or less just meaning they got dominated
on the board.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
That was last night.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
So last night was one of those games, the Raptors
as a team combined only had twenty rebounds. And just
to put it in further context, in a league now
where so many shots are being like offenses through the roof,
shot attempts are through the roof, offensive numbers are through

(46:16):
the roof. To dominate a team that much on the
boards and only give up twenty rebounds, here's the years
of other games where there were twenty or less rebounds
eighties and seventies. Ironically none from the eighties. Wow, But
you have to go back even further so the least amount,

(46:40):
the least amount ever was eight and nine, and both
of those happened in the nineteen fifty season. But for
more closer comparison, the other games where a team only
had twenty rebounds nineteen seventy four, nineteen ninety eight, twenty fourteen,
years where only had nineteen rebounds nineteen seventy five, nineteen

(47:04):
ninety nine. So it's it hasn't been done in over
a decade, and it's only been done once since two
thousand and one. Like that's twenty four years. It's only
happened one other time.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
And it's in the age of Hey, you can't touch
the players like you could can't go Bill Lambier and
them and stuff.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
And that's that's where when you were, you know, rolling
through those defensive numbers, the defense combined with the rebounding dominance.
Obviously all of that starts and revolves around Wimby. But
those are two aspects of winning basketball teams. Yeah, those

(47:46):
are two things every championship team does well.

Speaker 1 (47:50):
The Pacers, the Knicks, the Thunder of course, and then Utah.
I'm not Utah, I mean Denver. They're all great defensive teams.
I put Denver on the short one on that list.
But now the Spurs we're not. We're not going there.

(48:11):
We are there, you know, we are there. Like with
Dylan Harper is a great defensive castles to shut down defender,
you know, so hand when he comes back as a
top tier defender, Wimby's all world Like what else do
you need? Like? And then we have the cell with

(48:32):
the steels and are fast breaks good with Winby running
the court getting those easy you know, aliops, it's this
is gonna be so I'm not the only one and
I don't want to rush this and I know eighty
two and Ozero is not achievable. But one of my

(48:54):
good friends who is out in La out in California,
who is diehard Texan, you know all about the Spurs,
all about the Cowboys. He put a he went to
Vegas this past weekend and put a bet down. He
did put fifty dollars for the Spurs to win it

(49:15):
all this year. This year, you know what the odds were.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
I bet there's still I mean, and this is last
this is last week, before we seen them, before we
saw the four games, I bet it was still closer
to two hundred to one than one hundred to one.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
It was plus six thousand.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
So so that fifty dollars is gonna win him thirty
grand Yeah, no, three thousand.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
I didn't want too many zeros.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Yeah. So he's got that in the books, man, and
shout out to him, even though he was the one
that I forgot blocked by picking up Joe Flacco. And
I haven't heard the Still I'm still hearing about it, Okay,
just state that just it was a strategic move. It worked, all.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Right, You're going to continue to hear about it, but
you'll probably hear less about it if he cashes that three.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
Thousand dollars winning slip again.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
Obviously a lot of basketball to be played, starting with
Thursday night against the Heat. Do the Spurs get to
five and zero for the first time ever? Will LG
see history made in the frost Bank Center.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
You got to steal something from there, man, We gotta keep.
We gotta get a piece of memorial bi.

Speaker 2 (50:32):
LG will be our piece of memorabilia. He'll be, He'll be,
this the head of nostalgia. Anytime we look at LG.
We'll think about that first.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
Here and just on it. We need a small individual, need.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
A Spurs shrine right there. I think the bigger question
is will the Spurs win their Immirates NBA Cup opening
group stage game That comes down not this Friday, but next.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
For oh so they are so we don't know the
groups yet.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
No, we know the groups.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
We know the first game is against the Rockets. It's Rockets.
It's a tough group. Rockets, Warriors, Nuggets, Trailblazers.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Is the Spurs group.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
And only two come out of that group. I believe
only one does.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
But I have to brush up on my NBA Emirates Cup.
The format, that's.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
What's the other what's the other group? Well, clearly the
that's like, that's a murderers Row line up.

Speaker 3 (51:32):
Clearly the NBA. I mean, if you were, if you
were the.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
NBA's how many groups are there, like four.

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Three in each three in each conference.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
I believe three in each conference, and we got the
murderers Row, Like, there's no other tougher matchup than that.

Speaker 3 (51:49):
I would hesitate to argue with you.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
I think there's probably no question that that's the definitely
the most difficult group in the in the Western Company.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
I guess if you have OKC.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
In l l A and now okay, see got it
pretty so okay, see Minnesota are in the same group.
But the rest of that group is Sons, Kings, Jazz
watch out for Lori Markening.

Speaker 1 (52:17):
Yeah, he's not bad, fifty one last night, not bad,
little young man curls.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
And then the leftover group is Clippers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Maps.
So yeah, I mean, I think if you're looking at
the fact that the Spurs group has four potential playoff teams.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
Those could possibly be four very possible those all get
the pass and the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (52:44):
Very possibly could so my god.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Yeah, well, we'll be keeping an eye, keeping an eye
on uh, not only the group NBA Cup Group stage game,
but of course hopefully, hopefully we see history Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
It put in the put it in the banks, mark
it down.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
I thought you were going to say, put it in
the rafters, because did you see what else happened at
Frost Bank while no one was paying attention, while no
one was there to see it, celebrate it, cheer for it,
applaud it. They raised another banner up into the rafters.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
Pop, it's Pop.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Oh, it is total, it's his total wins and it's
right there next to the Big three, right next there.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Of course he's.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
He's like, it's pretty great. Yeah, it's pretty great. Everything
about it is. I mean, one obviously, how did Tim
Duncan allow that to happen because it's Pop well, and
because you're never going to and as Pop says, he
was not the like Tim Duncan was the real coach.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
I mean they allows as glad I was along for
the ride.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
There would be no Pop thirteen hundred and whatever career
wins if it wasn't for Duncan, if it wasn't for
Manu and Duncan, if it wasn't for Tony Manhu and Duncan.

Speaker 3 (54:06):
It wasn't for Tony.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
I think I think they're gonna get together and they're
gonna they're gonna do They're gonna surprise him, They're gonna
call him out maybe when he can like speak voter.

Speaker 3 (54:16):
Yeah, it wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
I I do wonder if eventually we don't get some
sort of like Pop Appreciation Night, even though he would.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
Hate it, and he's gonna be a national holiday. I
think they're like or like at least a city holiday.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
I did see our our city council put the brakes
on the idea or rename the airport after Pop.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
Oh god, they shut that.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
What was his name?

Speaker 2 (54:40):
Because we're run by idiots, Dude, I don't know, and
it's it's and it was. It was a rare like
bipartisan agreement where both sides were like, no, absolutely not,
we're not doing that.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
If I remember, if.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
I remember the vote tally correctly.

Speaker 1 (54:56):
Oh wow, he's gonna try to score and he's he's,
oh no, he didn't. He pulled up.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
As we uh down shift and move into some football talk.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
I just realized, LG.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
I never got you to tell the good people how
they can actually help support this program, and I know
you laid out as soon as Cap started launching into
his demands for spurs, access and memorabilia. Uh so, why
don't you help us out? Chime in here, tell the
good people how they can support the program.

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Show that face.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Yeah, hit that subscribe button, see the bats on the screen,
click the buttons.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Seasonal Blood, that's a ghost. That's a good band name,
Seasonal Blood.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
Yeah, it's a good punk rock. I could go.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I could hear them opening for VIAGRAA boys.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
There you go, or you could jump it all.

Speaker 2 (55:52):
I barely got that drink of water down. Yes, careful
the super chat I mean you, you know, just careful, careful.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
With the equipment, drinking water while you're dropping.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Like, does that get count as the in and.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Out rule feminine hygiene droke jokes?

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Uh yeah no we uh.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
If we do get any super chats, we get to
those right before the lightning round each episode. And as
LG said, the subscriptions absolutely free, will never cost you anything,
and they help us keep.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
Moving further and further up the YouTube. I'll be like my.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
Man Greg and be a member and do those cool
moji spurs things. Yeah, shout out, Greg are the best
five dollars, he's going to spend.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
The the loan. Well, no, I think we have to.
We have too. Yeah, yeah, we need uh, we need
to do like uh while we still have very minimum
membership levels.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
We need to do like a like a monthly dinner
or something like where it's just like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (56:56):
We take you out to Taco cabanage. Yeah, yeah, come,
come have a come, have a steak. But as long
as it's.

Speaker 1 (57:04):
I got a beer, I got a beer with your
name on.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
A three ninety nine as the lunch special at the
chosen pasty establishment of your of your choosing.

Speaker 3 (57:14):
You want to do some NFL.

Speaker 1 (57:15):
Talk, let's do it market mark it down.

Speaker 2 (57:18):
We are jumping into little cow notes before we do
the main Segee. I honestly, we're not gonna I'm not
gonna spend a lot of time wasting your time rehashing
that cowboy.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
You're can revisit cat I mean dak presslov being an
elite quarterback, because that was probably one of the worst
performances I've seen all year of him.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
I mean, well, there's absolutely yeah, game question, that was
the worst performance, because every performance we've seen except that
one was amazing. Statistically, top three league wide. I mean,
you can make all the noises and faces you want,
but two plus two will always equal four despite your pushback.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
And sometimes the Cowboys are good during the regular season.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
So this one is this one is even more of
a yo yo than I can remember. I mean, it
feels like it feels like they're obviously a handcuffed team
with the worst statistical these numbers, you'll agree with the
worst statistical defense in the entire league. And that's not

(58:28):
even close. I mean, they're not just bottom. They are
that you could fit three teams in between them and
the Powers second. That's correct, Yes, end up losing forty
four twenty four up in Denver. They haven't won in
Denver since I was six years old?

Speaker 3 (58:46):
Really, yes, correct? Yeah, I know. Remind me, dude, they
used to get abused by like Trevor Simeon, you know,
like it's yeah, yeah, Remind me what the hell I
would thinking when I picked Dallas plus three and a half,
because you just eat up all those little like.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Oh, the Cowboys. Their offense is that good. They can
put up forty points.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
I thought, and if they even if they had put
up forty, they wouldn't have covered three and a half
because they would have lost by four.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Where was like, where was the passes to Jake Ferguson.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Yeah, he was not existing.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
They got like one target.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
Look, I think out of all of the.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
Cowboys, out of all of the Cowboys offensive numbers, Ferguson's
are the ones that I am like, those are a
little inflated.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
There's not they haven't been.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
They haven't been the same level of explosive Ferguson plays
we've seen in the past.

Speaker 3 (59:46):
He's a safety net, very much so. And he's always
been that.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
But we've always seen him take some of those plays
where he's the safety net and turn a seven yard
catch into a twenty seven yard catch. Yeah, and we're
not seeing any of that that kind of explosiveness from
him this year. And he was totally mia Sunday. We'll
start with.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
And that's without Drake Greenlaw on the field. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
The I was listening to some of the Sean Payton
clips of him postgame, and he was very very clear
that the way they had talked about this game all
week in Denver's locker room was, Look, they have the

(01:00:32):
worst defense in the league. I have faith in you
offense that you're going to do enough to keep us
in this game, give us a chance to win.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
But the way Sean Payton was framing it is, our
defense has been much talked about. We're leading the league
in sacks by a wide margin. We've heard all year
how good our defense is from everyone outside this building.

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Now we get to go against the best offense. And
that's what he was geeked about exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
That's exact.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
And I mean, I've got Sean Payton and the winners
call him for that exact reason. He he challenged his
defense all week.

Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Stepped up was huge.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
You know, they've got some I mean, they've got some really,
really really good pieces that, because they're playing in Denver,
aren't national names, but are every bit as good or
better than anyone else in the league at their position
and as a unit. I mean, the granted.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Is gonna miss a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
That hurts.

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
That hurts big time because it's like he doesn't even
get past to man.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
It's funny because the yeah, I mean defensive player of
the Year last year, Patrick Sartan. It was funny because
the first injury looked way worse than the injury that
ended up taking him keeping him out of the game.
So the injury that is bothering him that's now going
to keep him out of games is the shoulder injury.

(01:02:03):
The first one looked like it might have been like
a you know, shin or leg you know, something bad
with that. But he only misses one play there and
deck instead of targeting the corner that came in to
guard pickings one on one.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
He.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Throws the other side where they end up having to
settle for the field goal, which brings me I think
this is officially the first loss that falls on shoddy shoulders.
And no, no, not Eberflus, not the entire two. This
was a This was a shoddy loss.

Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
What was it? At the end of the half, they
y'all had a chance to just march it up, like
to throw one more pass you like you were at
the seventy yard mark, which we all want to see it.
We all want to see it. Yep, you know, see
if Aubrey can do it, and if you're gonna do
it anywhere ma stadiums to do.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
It, yep, although I will say.

Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
He can do it with out of my hottest stadium,
and he plays half his games in a in a
Petrie dish of a stadium that's all controlled like Jerry
World is, I agree with the lot of bacteria.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Yeah, it's in North Texas. I can say that I'm
from there.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
But yeah, so but then he tries to force the
ball downfield and.

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
And I'll tell you why that was because Dak knew
before that game even started, but especially at the two
minute warning of the first half, Phil goals aren't gonna
cut it, Which.

Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
Is why I say shoddy.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
This is the first one on shoddy shoulders because first
possession of the game, you get the interception, and then
you drive down to the one yard line, you end
up having the false start, and so now you're at
the six yard line. You still got to go for it.
You've got to get points, You've got field. Goals are

(01:04:02):
not going you have shot. He has to start calling
games like he has the worst defense in the league.

Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
And I thought Sunday was the first coup because you
have to and also if you do become that level
of you know, bravado, gusto gambling, gonna go for it,
that also puts returns pressure back onto the opposing defense

(01:04:31):
where they know we don't have to stop this team.
Three times to get the ball back, we have to
stop them four and that changes the whole strategy. It
changes the writory exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
And I think a lot of I mean, I have
Brandon Aubrey on the losers list because he didn't get
to attempt a potentially record breaking field goal, But I
also think.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
The people what they want the more.

Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
I mean, I wanted to see it, and that was
the first thing I thought of when Dak threw that interception,
was now, we don't get to see the field goal attempt.
But if you are going to watch these games with
the idea that the Cowboys can still win games this season,
you've got to stop thinking in terms of, oh, we

(01:05:18):
just get to midfield and we'll get a field goal,
because field goals with how bad the defense is don't
matter whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Give us one time of him trying.

Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
And that would have been That would have been the
one time where you can kind of tell because this
is not going.

Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
To turn around interception. It wasn't like he was going
to complete that and then complete a thirty five yard
pass of the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
No, you were probably still gonna settle.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
You were still going to settle for the field goal
and That's what killed me, is like there was thirteen
seconds on the clock or something.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
You know, there was also the drive in the third quarter.
When Cowboys get down, it's fourth and five and he
chooses to punt at that point, the game's definitely over
now because again, if you're punting at fourth and less
than fourth and single digits, whether it's fourth and one

(01:06:09):
or fourth and nine, with how bad your defense is,
what what faith and what have they shown you outside
of the one game against Washington? What faith do you
have that they will ever get a stop and play
complimentary football.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
He's calling games like.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
That, you're gonna keep him under twenty. You're never gonna
do it.

Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
And he's calling games in which in a in a
in a normal organization where things aren't so lopsided one
way versus the other. Uh, you can call games where
you're trying to compliment each units on your roster.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Sean, he can't do that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
There's nothing complimentary about the offense to the defense on
the on the Cowboys right now, and so he's got
to call games where everything is complimentary to the offense
because you pretty much know what your defense is going
to do every time they're on the field and that's
at minimum give up.

Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Three and you know that's how he's probably already lost it.
But that's how you lose a locker room is when
you basically say a I'm a I'm an offensive specialist,
and I do have no faith whatsoever in the defense.
That's why I'm gonna go for it on fourth downs.

(01:07:29):
I'm gonna put y'all into some bad circumstances sometimes because
I have zero faith that you're not gonna let an
eight R drive happen. And that's when you have a
defense give up and not gang tackle, but they're still
not doing it well. And also that's why I'm like,
you lost him before you had him. But I think
that was the Micah Parsons trade.

Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Yeah, I mean you lost your defense. Jerry traded Jerry
sabotaged the of course out of them, and the game
on Sunday they had two guys that they called up
from the practice squad.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Sunday morning, they had four defensive starters missing the game.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
So like, yeah, the guys that were already.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
Struggling to play anywhere close to average level NFL defense,
those guys weren't even available for you, and you still
called the game as if you had Micah Parsons, still,
as if you had actual functioning at average level stargame.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Max Crosby isn't going to fix that defense.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
No, And that's where before we do winners and losers.
I do, I do want to talk about the trade
deadline for a minute, because.

Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
They're November four. There's three ways.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
I think you can look at it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
One, you know, now, there's a very honest question to
be had of what do you do with George Pickens?

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Yeah, I mean I'm still I sell. I'm gonna get
picks like.

Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Who who needs them right now?

Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
Well, I mean he would be great in Buffalo, a contender,
hopefully potentially overpaying for him. Ironically, the Steelers need a receiver,
you know. But I think that's where that's where the
philosophical question becomes, are you any trade you're making?

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
Yeah, I mean that'd.

Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
Be Tampa would be nice because Mike Evans might might,
this might be his last year in Tampa.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
And who knows if he's even coming back, how long
he's out with the collarbone. I think the question becomes,
whatever moves you make or potentially don't make. I don't
think they really mean a whole lot to this season
to begin with.

Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
But I don't think I'll make in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
No, no, no, What would make anyone?

Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
And but this is what's.

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
Gonna happen, would make anyone? I don't know. I'll tell
you a lot of different weird stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
The fact that they're likely to win the next two games,
beat the Cardinals, beat the Raiders, and then we're again,
we're just playing with the yo yo, and we're right
back where we were after the Washington win.

Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
But the question Cardinal's gonna win that game, we'll see,
we have to pick it because we got to get
our picks in. I'm already telling you.

Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
The question are we shall see together? Because I haven't
looked at them yet.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
The question becomes, though, any move or move you don't
make this year by the trade deadline doesn't have to
be for this season, like the Pickens deal, like I
would still I would be negotiating.

Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
The year after.

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
See, that's where I still lean, I would be negotiating
the contract extension with Pickens right now.

Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
Get that locked in.

Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
If if the Raiders truly budge and make Max Crosby available,
that's a guy who's locked into a contract for three
more years after this one at a number that is reasonable. Uh,
you're not paying Michael Parsons money. Why would you not
want Max Crosby on your roster next year? That's not
Trey Hendrickson, who's at potentially the end of what his

(01:11:16):
body can give to an NFL team. Crosby is still
if you're if you're if you punt George Pickens this year,
That tells me you're not trying to win games next
year either, because guess what you're gonna need to find
in the offseason. A number two wide receiver that's not
on this roster, right, that's not Turpin You mean that's

(01:11:36):
not Jaalen Tolvert or Ryan Floornoy who had the one
pseudo big game a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
What's up with your Carolina guy?

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
The what's one Rico Daldell who they let walk?

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
The receiver that?

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Oh yeah, I no, Mingo's coming along, Ingo, he's coming
along on the practice squad.

Speaker 3 (01:11:57):
But no, no, no, he's been hurt.

Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
He's been hurt unleashed. Is we're about to We're about.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
I think the question like I would still like to
see I don't want to see Dallas do any small steps,
small moves like I don't want them to get a
rental because we've seen the rentals like Kenneth.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Murrayburn this year. I would I would rather see I
mean because I the George Pickens. The only reason why
I don't think that's gonna happen is the agent's already
pissed at Jerry. The agent was like, you blew like
yes and no, you overstepped you. He basically looked at
Jerry and said, you're overstepped your bounds trying to make

(01:12:44):
a deal without me in the room, and then once
I got involved, you try to hardball me. So therefore
I'm going to remember that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
But you know what changes those bad feelings Money.

Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
Money, Yeah, but who doesn't give a lot of money, but.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
He does to guys that sell jerseys like CD like
Dak and Black.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Game Broken open Man tried.

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
To Okay, we're going to see it. Hopefully we're going
to see a long series.

Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
Gave up four runs on this one. I mean he
could have like seventh inn and he basically got taken
out with zero out.

Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
See, I'm surprised they stretched to seven.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
That's where That's where against the question of where do
you want? What what are your goals for the Cowboys
this season? Because I think right now your goal needs
to be building for next year, which is why I
would say I don't want to see any moves if
it's just the type that we saw your Niners make today.

(01:13:43):
Get a former take a flyer on a former second
round pick from New England who's out of their rotation.
I don't even want to give up a six round pick.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
But all we did was swap late round trades.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Yes, six and seven, right, But that's what I'm saying,
like that kind of move doesn't really I don't want
to lose any draft capital unless it's for someone of
Max Crosby level.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
This is someone who's going to be not injury related.
Ours is injury related, Yours is building for the future related.

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
But it's still I mean, I would argue it's just
the reason they signed Davian Clowney is because they traded
Micah and they had injuries on the defensive line. Like it,
it's still Cowboys have a need on the defensive line.
I would just rather see continued development, depth, depth, not
at all, no so like they were, well they did,

(01:14:34):
That's the thing though they did until they traded Micah.

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
And then when everyone slides up a slot.

Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
That's not depth though, that's you have one good guy
that's your fifth.

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
But that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
The depth is you got eight starting DM.

Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
That's what I'm saying though, When you have Micah on
one side and then your other side rotation is Dante
Fowler and Donovan Az a roku and then you've got
Neland and Sam Williams as your backups. Now all of
a sudden, Sam Williams is playing the second most snaps
of any defensive lineman on the team.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
That's where because Micah is really you have you have two.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
And a half right right, or you have depth that
are still like as a roku. As a Roku looks
like he's going to be the second best pass rusher
in this most draft class besides Abdul Carter.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
But defensive line, that doesn't change Williams is he's his PFF.

Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
He's third in in pass rush uh and and uh
uh win percentage at the line. Both that's your ranking.
It's Carter as a roku and then your guy Williams.
But that that's where I'm saying. I would rather see
as a Roku get more playing time than bringing in
someone of that second or third tier just to fill

(01:15:56):
a depth position, because that's not gonna change anything. But
if you're going to make a move, make it for
someone that's going to be a part of this nucleus
of this core for the next for multiple years, for
the next at least two years minimum, hopefully three or four.
So I again, nothing, nothing they do is going to

(01:16:18):
fix it. So that's why I lean more towards don't
do anything, because it's unfixable at this point. They need
they need five defensive starters. That's what they need right now.
At minimmm I was like animal minimum.

Speaker 1 (01:16:34):
They because even though he was garbage, they.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Have three defensive linemen that you can feel comfortable confident
in going into next year.

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Kenny Clark, Osa as Araku and then your fourth. So
you're missing again. We're seeing as.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Iraku develop show more over the last three weeks. We'll
see what he looks like at the end of the year. No,
you traded your star again. I keep going back to
that because it's insane that they did it a week
before the regular season started, and literally it's like Jerry,
It's like the the sheriff from blazing saddles where he's

(01:17:15):
holding himself hostage. That's what Jerry did to himself and
then acted like, you know, he got great value when
it was. You know, if you're gonna do it, you
should have done it. Back around the draft quickly, we'll
do some winners and losers. Winners mentioned Sean Payton. Anytime

(01:17:35):
Sean Payton plays the Cowboys, they always talk about Jerry Jones.
The Jones family loves Sean Payton. He's the reason they
found Tony Romo. And anytime Sean Payton can run up
the score against Dallas, history shows.

Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
He enjoys that job. I see, I argue.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
I think Sean Payton likes the fact that everyone has
always said he should have been the Cowboys coach. But
I think Sean Payton is such a megalomaniac that he
would never take the job because he never wants to
work for Jerry as anything more than a coordinator. I
think for a position coach. I think he wanted to
have the chance to say no, that's probably true. Yeah,

(01:18:21):
that's probably absolutely because he brought right, which is how
we got believe. I believe that's where Eberflus actually came
in the first time as well, or it was that
it was that group right after Parcels left. Other winners

(01:18:42):
Trayvon Diggs, he doesn't have to play on this defense
for at least four more weeks. They placed him on
IR uh not concussion related IR now it's the the
knee that he rushed back to play in Week one.
Now that knee has given him trouble. I don't think
Diggs plays another game for the Cowboys in his career.

(01:19:02):
Other winners, Javonte Williams returned to Denver. Not a whole
lot of yards, only forty one yards on like thirteen carries,
but you.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
Still get two tuies.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
We had two of the Cowboys three touchdowns, which yeh,
which are one yard And even when you're getting blown out,
it's got to feel good to score two touchdowns against
the team that let you walk out of there.

Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
Go ahead and say, Javonte Williams let them down, because,
like I said, I drafted him for four years.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
Davante Williams body let him down. I mean, he shredded
the knee and then was never the same guy until
this year. And I was about to say, even like
the Miles Sanders not in position and gets, well, how
about the Jaden Blue getting some reps and immediately shows
exactly what he showed at Texas, the fumbling issues. The

(01:19:54):
only other winner I had from the game. I bet
you'll never guess the mascot pretty close. So Denver is
in the process of doing their own project Marvel.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
They want a new stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
And man, that stadium is like when you're driving down
downtown Denver, that stadium is awesome, awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
Yeah, So we are losing stadium. I have the winner.

Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
As outdoor stadiums, We're potentially gonna lose Chicago as an
outdoor stadium and Denver as an outdoor stadium over the
course of the next five years.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
So the reason specifically Denver.

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Colorado or Chicago's got its own issues and reasons. But
Denver doesn't have a large scale indoor event center, so
they can't get the you know, Metallica Tour, the Taylor
Swift Tour, all of the Bad Bunny if he ever plays.

Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
At the USA Rocks during the nice season exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:21:02):
So Denver wants a retractable roof or dome set up
like so Minneapolis. As soon as they built their new
stadium and Detroit they started getting all of these massive
one hundred thousand person too, like the Paul McCartney tour. Yeah,
you know, giant shows like that. So Denver is pushing

(01:21:23):
to get a new stadium built basically in their version
of where the Frost Bank Center is now.

Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
Oh no, we'll do a lot of development and we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
They probably want it. They probably want it out there
next to the airport because that's a thirty minute drive.

Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
Not that far. They still it's still in the Denver metro.

Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
Oh, but it's it's in the hood, like they're well,
the hood's the east side.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
That's where they're Yeah, that's where they're looking at trying
because they're tying it in with their own promises of
redevelopment and referb ring and revitalization.

Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
But yeah, you cross you cross that highway you like.
I saw like a restaurant it's not all white, and
maybe another shop I was trying to go to, and
I'm like, oh, that's a that's a pretty good deal
on weed maps and I went. I went over there,
and I was like, damn, I'm in the hood, all right.
I was like I normally that I was like, don't

(01:22:23):
get out the car. Normally that means you're gonna get
the good stuff. Oh I know. I was like, I'm
still gonna go.

Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Yeah, you know, I would hate to see as much
as I as much as I love the Alamodome for
UTSA football, there is something about football being played in
the elements and cities like Denver where the weather is
such an element, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:22:46):
All of that Chicago.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
Yeah, like we were saying, just make an events man
like that, Like that was I've never been because I
never went to Denver during football season, you know. And
the one time I, like a couple of times I did,
they were at away games. Yeah, because I would have gone,
and it just looks amazing. It looks awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
Yeah, like when you're driving down, like when you see the.

Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
Cure right there, and when you're on the elevated interstate,
you're like eye level, like right next to the five
hundred sections.

Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Literally driving right next to it and looking at this
beautiful architecture.

Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
Unfortunately, it feels like out in twenty years, outdoor stadiums
will be one of those like a rotary dial phone.
It's like, I can't believe y'all played sports outside.

Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
I mean, you know, tim, a change isn't real, bro,
you know, even though we're having like one of the biggest,
the biggest late season hurricane in the world.

Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
Yeah, minor details, minor details.

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Praise out, prayers out to you there Jamaica.

Speaker 3 (01:23:47):
Yeah, next cu Cuba and Guantanamo.

Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
Losers I mentioned, I thought this was the first loss
that Shoty can can't actually take the bulk of the
responsibilit But that.

Speaker 3 (01:24:02):
Being said Slasha, well I've got Dak on the losers too, but.

Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
Actually staring down receivers making horrible decisions, didn't see the nickel.
No he was throwing he No, he.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Was forcing the ball because of one the Broncos defense
was smothering, and two because his own defense was smothering
his mindset, his own knowing that you have no defense
that can compliment.

Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
You, you're forcing in week eight.

Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
No, that's what I'm saying, you know, Like, no, he
like it was a bad, bad game.

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Like there's nothing to interceptions first time.

Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
Well, Sames, you have one more.

Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
I've got losers to get to. As I just said,
shoddy first one.

Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Lost on him. You just want to bag all your job.
Let me, Mark that let.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
Me because I think I might have just you might
have gotten me to almost I don't know LG thumbs up,
thumbs down?

Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Was that f full F? Or can we get by
with that? I didn't hear the.

Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
Despite shoddy taking the bulk of the loss. From the
coaching perspective, the Eberflus scheme situation rollout is only more
confusing week to week because you ready for this fat Yeah,
what's the what's the The Broncos had four first half touchdowns? Right, yeah,

(01:25:23):
they only faced a third down three times in the
first half of that game.

Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
What was the zone versus Manda man so in last
specifically because they did more Manda man last week.

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Last week we saw they had gone from being ninety
seven percent zone in the first six weeks to last
week showing almost a fifty to fifty split. It was
like forty eight percent to fifty two percent. So if
you just look at the overall numbers from comparing last

(01:26:06):
week and Sunday, comparing Week seven and eight, they still
look like they rolled out more man coverage. But when
you actually look at the game log of when they
were what they were running when, Yeah, the first three
quarters of that game, they we reverted right back to

(01:26:28):
the heavy zone scheme, and then in the fourth quarter
when they had corners playing safety no one in a
position they were familiar with, then he was forced to
run man because no one knew they were. They had
guys that were literally on the practice squad twelve hours

(01:26:48):
before the game game exactly. So it was he tried
to run the old scheme. Yeah, and I mean obviously
same results as when he tried to run it the
first six weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
So this lr J Harvey in the winner Winners of
Bracket three touchdowns, two rushing, one passing. Yeah, thet you
in four leagues, buddy, Oh did you actually play? Yes?
Okay in three of the four leagues because I was
on bye week, hel and come on, we gotta use Harvey,
Give me more Harvey.

Speaker 3 (01:27:21):
So specifically, Bobby Belt had this.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
He put it out on X In the first three
quarters of that game Sunday, the Cowboys only ran four
snaps where they were in man demand coverage.

Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
He went right back there, He went right right back
to it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:40):
Did I say that? I was like, right, He's like,
I'm gonna really trick him. I'm gonna go right back
to the thing that doesn't work, just.

Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
To show you how bad it was.

Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
So Denver scored on seven of their twelve possessions overall
in the game. But it's actually worse than that sounds,
which is hard to believe. Six touchdowns and one field
goal where the seven scorers, one interception on the first
possession of the game where the defender didn't do anything.

(01:28:09):
There was a receiver and quarterback mix up, bow Knicks
throws the ball way behind him just right to a
Cowboys defender. Then they had two punts. So there's seven
scorers out of ten possessions, with one of those possessions
being an interception where you didn't do anything to earn
it except catch a ball thrown right at you. The

(01:28:31):
other two possessions Denver had was the kneel down at
the end of the first half and the kneel down
at the end of the second half. So really, really
it was seven scorers on ten possessions. Denver scored on
seventy percent of the possessions where they weren't kneeling the
ball to end one of the.

Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
Halves, and that's why they are the last in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Lastly, I mentioned Aubrey as a loser as well, because
I wanted to see the fill goal the tenth one,
to see them America, to see the two names that
I've seen enough of on the Cowboys defense, Kenneth Murray
Junior and Sam Williams, both of them Kenneth Murray expiring
year of his deal that he originally signed with Tennessee.

(01:29:15):
Sam Williams expiring year of his deal from his draft
rookie deal with the Cowboys. I kind of like Trayvon Diggs.
If neither one of them ever played another snap for
the Cowboys, I'm perfectly fine because we've got to.

Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
See what's got to go out. They got to leave
with them, They gotta leave with them.

Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
I want to see, at least with as bad as
this defense is, neither one of those two guys is
changing anything. We got to see what guys like Shamar
James as Araku, give me more James Houston. Hell, try
James Houston at linebacker. It's what he played in college. Like, uh,
they got to get creative with it. But yeah, it's
on to Arizona where we we'll be picking here after

(01:30:01):
we do our recap, starting with maybe Vegas was right
about your Niners.

Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
Yeah, we ah, like, did they know that we weren't
going to ride McCaffrey, that we were just gonna give
him nine touches? Like they're like, no, the guy that's
getting thirty touches a game, they said, or they said
to us, hey, they're gonna let him touch the ball
nine times this game. And then absolute, you know, Mac

(01:30:32):
Jones just looked like the new England Mac Jones. There's
nothing to really take away from the game. We lost
three more defensive linemen, like we have seven on irt
to speak of. Yeah, so I mean these little d linemen,
we're plugging holes, man, you know, and all we can

(01:30:53):
do is just staying there. Like my hopes to win
the division are still there only because we won the
first three. We got three wins in the division. It's
nice to have those banks. Yeah, but when I look
at the schedule, we got to play the Colts, which
I thought was an easy win, it's not. It's looking like, oh,
Jonathan Taylor's taking that best running Back in the Running

(01:31:15):
Back in the League.

Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
Award, at least statistically.

Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
Statistically right now MVP candidate in my opinion, he is
the MVP at the moment.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:31:26):
And then we got we got we playing the Bears.
You know that's not gonna be easy game. We're going
to play the Giants and Death Life Stadium, and I'm
just so afraid of who else is going to get hurt.
I'm so tired of like seeing like it's just it's
an ugly scene. Something's got it. Like I'm bringing some

(01:31:49):
stage in here next week and we're gonna sage this place.
We're gonna sage all my niners had I'm gonna line
them up.

Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
Say, jam all, when did you say y'all play the Bears?

Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
I think we played the Bears in three weeks? Two weeks?

Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
Oh no, Bears is second to last second. Okay, okay,
who we played two weeks from now? Your next one,
the Rams.

Speaker 3 (01:32:14):
Is no, no, no, Your next one is the.

Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
Giant Giants traveling Sunday for a noon game, and then
the Rams.

Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of the Rams, like.

Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
And you've always already had your bye week, right.

Speaker 1 (01:32:27):
No, bye week's week fourteen, which is that's weird. We
have the last bye week of the that's the very
last bye week.

Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
That's really weird. Oh yeah, I'm saying it now. That's
that's first week in December.

Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
Yeah, holy god, we are injury red. Yeah, that's hopefully
we get Brock. Hopefully we get you know, Brock Party back.

Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
Come on, buddy, please, because I saw so many times
where they could escape the pocket. There's there's room to
Eskate Mac run your feet, and he just didn't do it,
didn't see it. And that's where you see that slippery
slipperiness of a Brock Party versus a mac Jones, you know,
and to extend to play George Kittle, you know, got

(01:33:11):
his tight end, you know, National tight End Day.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Yeah, I've had enough of hearing about oh yeah, every
every single broadcast, Happy National. That's like, that's literally so good.
That's what we make fun of. It's National Wild.

Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
Food two times, two times a week, because we have fun.
We would make fun of them as I'm making fun
of making Funday like it's not a good bit.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
He made tight End, you which all the great tight
ends now go to and they're all a part of
It's good to see them get their shine, you know,
because George Kittle is the ultimate do it all unselfish.
He his favorite game was he had zero catches. He's like,
but our run game was tastic through the middle, and

(01:34:01):
he had so many pancake blocks and was doing so
many like pools and stuff like that. You know, my
man's finally gonna get the Niners minute. That's pretty much
it for the Niners. It was. It was literally procedural
mix ups, offense mix ups. Defense was just shattered.

Speaker 2 (01:34:21):
Speaking of that was another reason why I put that
loss on shoddy for the first the pre snap penalties
like the undisappointed.

Speaker 1 (01:34:29):
Yeah, it was just it was an all around ugly game.

Speaker 2 (01:34:33):
So the reason I asked specifically when that Bears game was,
here's a fun number for you. Caleb Williams has nine
passing touchdowns on the on the season on the year. Yeah,
he's got four of those versus Dallas and then five
and every other game combined versus everyone.

Speaker 1 (01:34:54):
Else, and they still put up thirty points a game.

Speaker 4 (01:34:57):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Yeah, that's man.

Speaker 1 (01:34:58):
That that's that's the into their defense and the resurgence
of the swift. I thought like I took them in
a couple of them. I was one of my late
round flyers, you know, just because I needed it, like
a fourth running back. Now he's a starter, he's an
RB one. You know, that guy's putting up twenty points
a game.

Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
The rest of the league. We'll burn through it real
quick before we do our picks for this coming week,
because again we're only doing tonight's episode live Giants get
their revenge or Eagles get their revenge over the Giants.

Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
But the story we lost, yeah, this.

Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
Lost man story definitely was Cam Skattaboo's ankle being snapped
in half.

Speaker 1 (01:35:45):
He got, hey, man, Fred Warner be like the same thing,
dislocated ankle?

Speaker 3 (01:35:50):
Was Fred? Did Fred's look as bad as? Like? Did
Fred try to lift?

Speaker 1 (01:35:55):
It wasn't. It wasn't a ninety Okay, it wasn't. It
was like it was like a forty five. Yeah, the
Skataboo footage was it was. It was a it was like,
oh hey look at this.

Speaker 3 (01:36:04):
So that's that's what I thought it happened.

Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
I thought it was a compound fracture and not a
dislocation because it looked very much like it like Dax
did where it's just dangled.

Speaker 1 (01:36:15):
The meme machine, the memes that Cam Scattadoo like, I
know everybody's been having fun on Instagram and it is
now we're not going to get to see as much.

Speaker 3 (01:36:26):
The problem like thinking about this Giants team.

Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
It would be a concussion to take him out.

Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
You would think, yeah, exactly, it's ironic that his brain's
going to be just fun is thinking about this Giants team.
If you could go back and start Week one with
Jackson Dart, quarterback Skataboo, primary running back Malik Neighbors healthy,

(01:36:51):
Oh bro, there are pieces there that what we've seen now.
Obviously with Neighbors and Skataboo out for.

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
The rest of the year, the wildcard contender, you.

Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
Could see definitely the way the rest of the NFC
East is.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Yeah, Giants might have.

Speaker 3 (01:37:07):
The second best team if it wasn't for the injuries.

Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
But you know, I'm next week. I'm not really scared
about the Giants. I'm just scared about that damn field.

Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
Yeah, I mean that's the biggest Like.

Speaker 1 (01:37:19):
What's the over under on the injuries? Man?

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
Yeah, I wonder death Life Stadium Vegas usually doesn't take
injury related prop bets, but maybe they should.

Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
They could have avoided Rose.

Speaker 1 (01:37:31):
Another shout out to my buddy Donnie On in California,
who wished an injury, who predicted an injury for McCaffrey
and his bell cow was Skataboo on his team. Well,
Harma's up bee.

Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Yeah, it's unfortunate how that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
It's unfortunate how that plays itself out sometimes elsewhere in
the contenders category.

Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
So we've still got.

Speaker 2 (01:37:53):
Our seven clear contenders. According to Vegas, Bills destroyed the
Panthers forty to nine. Colts, keep winning.

Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Keep on putting up thirty plus dude.

Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Thirty eight fourteen over the Titans. I'm the Colts are
the Colts are last year's Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 1 (01:38:11):
Yeah, they have. I think they have the pieces to
go further in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Resurgent quarterback, better running back of course with Fred Taylor,
but still a running game that you can rely on,
a defense that not elite, but Mikes plays gets turned over.

Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
The Franklin hopefully he's coming off injury and he was
a shadow of himself, liked.

Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
I think this Colts team can go further in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (01:38:37):
I think they they had the potential to go to
the championship. They you know, to be the man, you
gotta beat the man. You're gonna have to beat that
man named Mahomie.

Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
Yeah, I think that's where I still and at.

Speaker 1 (01:38:48):
Thirteen and that fourteen man roster that they hold.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
I think if you were to ask me right now.

Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
Talking about the Zebras, what teams and I just ignored
it at this point. Uh, kind of like I wish
I had with your dak Uh you jump me draw,
you drew me off sides there in the E or
in the AFC. I still like the bills chances of
taking down the Chiefs more than I do the Colts,

(01:39:16):
But I think the Colts are firmly in that third
position in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
The Bills Lamar like, I mean, I'm not gonna put
anything past Lamar two time MVP, like could have been
three times. But he's got to get them there, must
win games. With the hole they're in, they got like
a one maybe two game buffer. I think if they
if they lose one, they still can make the wild Card.

(01:39:45):
If they lose two, I think they're done.

Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Yeah, it feels like I mean, off top of my head,
I was looking at it earlier today, it feels like
two would be the kill. Yeah, the death knell. Yeah,
because as.

Speaker 1 (01:39:58):
We should have to be like one of those scenario
where like this team's gotta lose, this team's gotta win.
You know, at the very end of it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
And it would also it wouldn't matter. It would depend
on what the teams like the Texans, Jags, and Bengals
do as well, because those are still all of those
a game ahead of the Ravens and Jags actually two
games ahead, So I.

Speaker 1 (01:40:22):
Texas defenses are keeping them in that C. J. Stroud
had his boast throwing yards, Like, I still think they
have zero running game, you know, just because you ran
it down our injury riddled ass. You know in the
Niners game. You know, that doesn't mean that doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
No, and it you know, they're still chasing. I think
they're still potentially looking at chasing that final wild card spot.

Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
Where they were.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
There's no way they could have expected the Colts to
be running away with the division at this point. Yeah,
which is what makes that final wild card spot because
you know right now that final wildcard spot is the Chiefs.
But at the same time, the Chiefs are still the
favorite in Vegas to win the Super Bowl. Ok So
it's a weird time right now when you look at

(01:41:18):
who's a contender, who's in the playoffs, who's on the fringe?

Speaker 1 (01:41:24):
The script the.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):
Speaking of script, the Packers beat the Steelers and a
Rods scripted rematch against his former team.

Speaker 1 (01:41:33):
That was that was that was That was a hill
Mary for me. That was a Aaron Rodgers hill Mary
thinking that they could win.

Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
I guess that was one of the ones we picked too. Yeah,
oh that's that's the only that's one of the ones
I got right, uh picking the Packers. Yeah, it's crazy.
I saw a graphic showing all of the NFC North
teams and the quarterbacks they've had since nineteen ninety two.
Oh yeah, yeah, Vikings list long as hell, like twenty

(01:42:00):
one Lions list. Joey Harrington is the shining you know,
John Kittna long as hell though, Matthew staffor you look
at the Bear Yeah, look at the Bears, long as hell.
You look at the Packers three names, which.

Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
Every time it kind of shocked me because what was
it ninety two? I didn't think Brett Favor was drafted
in ninety two, like, because I remember I saw that
same list. Yeah, and it was like, since nineteen ninety two,
here are the quarterbacks. And I was like he was
playing during the Cowboys dynasty and Steve Young oh yeah, yeah,
I remember some shootouts together. Yeah, you know, I mean

(01:42:41):
the too thrown in between four defenders and he's dropped
the ball like five times that game and then finally
catches the game winning touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
In the playoffs, what was the tight end the Mark Chamorrow. Yeah,
it wasn't that. Uh, that was Farb's safety blanket back then.
They're big, the Packers, big tight end. Elsewhere we talked
about it a little. Chiefs beat the Commedis twenty eight
to seven, and then Lions and Rams were both on by.

(01:43:10):
We had six teams on by, two of them from
the contender category, which cut the watchability of last week's
games significantly. Playoff teams Chargers beat the Vikes handedly again. Chargers.
Chargers are the team I feel like I know the
least about I have no expectations.

Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
Carson Wins is gone, like he's injured, he's out, and.

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
They kept playing him in that game, Which what does
that tell you about their faith?

Speaker 1 (01:43:40):
They and they don't then they don't run Jordan Mason
and Aaron Jones, they don't just make it a run game.
I'm like, I know they're scoring on you, but you
have to play to your strengths. Especially Jordan Mason's been
stellar and now I know it's Aaron Jones's, you know,
starting job, but you lost it. Jordan Mason's the better

(01:44:03):
running back, you know, better catcher, more explosive, more physical.
He comes from the Niners. He knows he'd learned from Shanahan,
he learned from McCaffrey, like use his skill. And he's
not thirty two years old, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:44:20):
Yeah, Vikings are Vikings are a weird situation. I mean,
ever since they chose to hand the keys to JJ McCarthy,
they've been regretting that, especially as you see, well he's
gonna watch chance again Sam Darnold. And they're not that
far out of it. I mean they're only three and
four as we sit here right now. It's still stellar defense,
but they've got a lot of work to do against

(01:44:43):
a tough division, divisional games ahead. Pats continue their charge
in the AFC.

Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
They have to put Pats there go. They might be
going into contender territory a little.

Speaker 3 (01:44:56):
Bit, not yet.

Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
Vegas still views them much lower than some of the
other teams that are in this Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:45:04):
Impressive wins though.

Speaker 2 (01:45:05):
Yeah the Browns might not sound impressive, but that defense,
I mean they did Miles Garrett did get five sacks, but.

Speaker 1 (01:45:14):
That's the so when they're talking about him, that's the
one glaring weakness that they have is Drake Mayskin beat up. Yeah,
you know, even though he's having an MVP quads like
quality year and him and Diggs are finally you know,
getting in like getting in sync and whatnot. It's just,

(01:45:34):
I don't know, you gotta gotta can't let Miles Garrett
get five sacks off on you, even though if he's
the best DL in the league right now.

Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
I do feel like, just looking at the AFC rankings
right now, the top four the four division leaders, Colts, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers.

Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
I mean, I don't feel confident that any of those
four teams win the AFC. Like it's still Bills and
Chiefs as the biggest potential threats coming out of the AFC.
And I would say I still think I like the
Chargers more than I do the Steelers and maybe the Patriots.

(01:46:18):
I'm still not sure on the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (01:46:21):
They just got they they got to shore up their defense.
It's weird. I don't know if they're healthy or not.
I mean, what kill me is Quinton Johnson, Johnston Gods
like he didn't catch one ball, but it's the emergence
of was it god Godston gold Goldston. He's the rookie

(01:46:45):
tight end, fifth round pick that that is emerging as
a top tier like he's I think he's already got
four touchdowns in three games. So Philip Rivers has found
a new.

Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
Toy, Philip River.

Speaker 1 (01:47:00):
That's Fredi Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (01:47:03):
Justin Herbert might end up just being another Philip that's all.

Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
The stats, it's real close to it and just never
gets it there. But I believe in Harball he's gonna
you know, he makes quarterbacks better. Ronde Gadson, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you're looking for so Gas and I mean, if you
he's already picked up in most fantasy leagues, but if
he's still out there, you go you need to snag

(01:47:29):
him to like immediately.

Speaker 3 (01:47:32):
Closing out the playoff column.

Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
Obviously, we talked to your Niners, we talked to my Cowboys.
They're only in this because they played the Broncos. Don't
worry yourself in the playoff. No, that was all asked.

Speaker 3 (01:47:46):
The Broncos are the three seeds.

Speaker 1 (01:47:48):
Broncos.

Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
Okay, that's what I'm saying that's the only reason they're
in this category. I had to get out ahead of
it before you jumped off sides. Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
And then the Seahawks were on by Bucks just with
the Saints twenty three to three.

Speaker 3 (01:48:02):
No more Rattler, now we got we're gonna go.

Speaker 2 (01:48:04):
Tyler Shuck the former Oregon Duck turned Texas Tech Red
Raider turned Louisville cardinal.

Speaker 1 (01:48:12):
Wow. So that was about to ask one more.

Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
And he's also like twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (01:48:17):
He was. He had a six year career.

Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
I believe it was even longer because he had the
COVID year, and he had COVID year, he had red
shirt year, and he had medical red shirt. Yeah, he's
he's twenty six right now.

Speaker 1 (01:48:29):
He's the Brandon weied this decade pretty much.

Speaker 2 (01:48:32):
I think I hit all of his Yeah, Oregon Tech, Louisville,
there's no uh, no stops in between.

Speaker 3 (01:48:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
And then in the fringe will burn through. These Dolphins
beat the Falcons big time, thirty four to ten. Jets
got their first win though, just when the.

Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
Big man, yeah, you know, uh he you know, he
got diagnosed when he was twenty one with that kidney
disease and was looking for a donor until he passed
away at forty forty two. Forty one. Yeah, yeah, that's
a sad man. Like only if there was a country

(01:49:07):
that genetically organ cropped organs, or if he could have gone.

Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
If he played for a team that had a bigger
fan base of carrying fans than the Jets, Like, if.

Speaker 1 (01:49:20):
You're gonna put it on the you're gonna put his
life on the fan.

Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
If Mangold had been a Cowboy, he would have found
a donor in less than twenty four hours. If he
had been a Niner, he would have found a donor
in less than a week.

Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
I'd firmly put that only Mangal was there during the
butt fumble years.

Speaker 3 (01:49:36):
But all that being said, Jets do get their first
win thirty nine thirty eight over the.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
Bengals Ravens bounce back. You said they don't have much
wiggle room, but they they did show the Bears to
be fraudulent, unlike the inflated Caleb Williams stats from the
Cowboys game.

Speaker 1 (01:49:58):
Well, they got rokewon Smith back, they got some defensive
like they were just there.

Speaker 3 (01:50:02):
Are still only they're the first team out of the
playoffs in the NFC, but Ravens win that by two
touchdowns thirty sixteen.

Speaker 1 (01:50:09):
Lamar's coming back next week.

Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
Yep, even after their little potential circumventing the injury rules,
and the Jaguars were on by UH and then the
ass column there were no ASS games because the ASS
teams were on by the Raiders and Cardinals were on
by So both of us went two and three in

(01:50:31):
our picks last week. And since we're not doing a
Thursday show, we've got to do our picks and we've
got to do them fast because we're almost already at
the two hour mark. So and we haven't looked at
any of these like I've.

Speaker 1 (01:50:47):
Looked at them. I haven't looked at the lines. I
mean the line.

Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
So I know, off the top of my head, Cowboys
hosting the Cardinals. It's Monday Night.

Speaker 1 (01:50:56):
Football, and I'm sure they're favored.

Speaker 3 (01:51:02):
It's Dallas minus two and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:51:04):
God, man, Cardinals, give me the Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
Without hesitation, without hesitation.

Speaker 1 (01:51:09):
Man like Kyler Murray can throw the ball. Is Kyler
Murray healthy.

Speaker 3 (01:51:15):
Plus two and a half?

Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:51:20):
I think the new Black Ops drops next week. I
swear to God, I think I think he's gonna be
yp he's on. He's gonna win a battle royale and
win the game. I think it dropped. It drops, uh
I think next week after they play this game on
Monday night. I think it drops that Friday the seventh
or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
So he should be clear of the call of duty.
Curse okay man?

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:51:49):
The Cowboys aren't good.

Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
They're really not good on the road, but at home
they I at least know they're going to score more
points than they have on the road this year.

Speaker 1 (01:52:05):
They've scored at.

Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
Minimum forty points in every game at home this year.

Speaker 1 (01:52:11):
The Cardinals do not have a bad defense. They have
that linebacker they picked up two.

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
But a not bad defense against an elite offense. I
I think the.

Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
Calboy defense against uh a not bad offense. That's a
which is Okay, where's the bigger gap?

Speaker 2 (01:52:35):
Is the Cowboys offense better than the Cardinals defense in
a larger way than the Cardinals offense is better than
the Cowboys?

Speaker 3 (01:52:45):
Because this is what we're talking right, which one is like,
that's what this entire Cowboys season is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Because no fan base should have to think in terms
like that, where you are so good on one's one.

Speaker 1 (01:53:03):
I think the Cowboys offense is humming. At about eight,
I'm gonna say eight.

Speaker 3 (01:53:09):
I would have said a nine until last.

Speaker 1 (01:53:11):
Week, last week, exact date, So at eight, and I
would give the Cardinals defense coming off of rest week. Yeah,
I'm gonna give them a seven.

Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
Also, they get the extra day of rest because it's
a Monday night game.

Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
I'm gonna give up. I would have given them two
and five. I would have given them a Yeah, that's
not that's not the defense's fault.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
But I would think when you lose games by giving
up more points than the opponent, that probably means the
defense had something to do with those games, with the
whole I mean, we've been recalling this.

Speaker 1 (01:53:50):
A Monday night game. Who's gonna shine in the Monday
all right? So the Cardinals have given up.

Speaker 2 (01:53:58):
We're wasting too much time. I gotta I gotta go Cowboys.
I gotta go Cowboys. Cowboys at home on Monday night. Yeah,
God dang it, I'm taking Dallas.

Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
And I am taking the Cardinals to.

Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Cover two and a half points. God, I hope there's
no cameras.

Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
The camera is fixated on Jerry and all his mannerism.

Speaker 2 (01:54:21):
It does feel like this could be a Jerry meltdown. Yeah,
exactly two and a half at Giants two and a
half death death life. That kind of seems insane to
me after what we just saw.

Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
The Giants change your brock party and Pierce all end
up playing no practice today. I just don't like they're
gonna lean on McCaffrey again.

Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
I mean, there's there's just no way you can take
the Giants with less than a f goal worth of
points in this game. Like you're not getting that much.
Oh you get the Giants plus two and a half.
I mean, I guess this is a Niners team that
only beat the Cardinals sixteen to fifteen, So maybe the

(01:55:15):
Giants can cover that two and a half. Now give
me Niners minus two and a half. I assume your
following suits.

Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
Yes, sir, and the game of the week, the Bills
and the Chiefs. So yeah, what time is that? That's
that's gotta be God, what that means we have to
I have to listen Jim Nance. The only thing they're
not even man, not even close all over. I got so.

Speaker 2 (01:55:48):
Ready for Nance's country club comedy routine to be exactly that.
Something he tells the rest of his old. Nance is
the kind of guy that hangs around with nothing but
eighty year olds because they're the only people that think
he's funny or entertaining.

Speaker 3 (01:56:05):
Nance is awful.

Speaker 2 (01:56:06):
The only thing worse than Nance is Tony Romo, who
apparently doesn't. This is more prep than Tony Romo has
done the entire season combined. He does no prep. He
just makes weird noises. That's bad, though. Here's the thing,
here's here's believe it or not.

Speaker 3 (01:56:24):
That's bad.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
That means you make bad.

Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Content unless you're a twenty year old streamer who's just
funny twenty four hours of the day. But no, you're
Tony Romo wearing sketchers. You do some prep.

Speaker 3 (01:56:39):
It's it's gotten. So I'll tell you what makes.

Speaker 1 (01:56:42):
It so bad. Sketches not bad shoo.

Speaker 2 (01:56:46):
It is if Tony's wearing it. When you hear third
Leg Greg, when you hear Greg Olsen call a game,
yeah he's good. And then the next week you.

Speaker 3 (01:56:53):
Hear Tony he's singing random song and get down on
it and he's doing the guitar parts.

Speaker 1 (01:57:06):
It's like, I think he's sout up man.

Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
It might like something is different, something like the ozempic brain.

Speaker 3 (01:57:13):
I don't know what it is, but something has made.

Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
He's lost it all now he's something has made him
so that twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
And a half faves? And are they playing where are
they playing in Buffalo? In Buffaloes no respect? Mmm mm hmm,
I mean point and a half?

Speaker 3 (01:57:38):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (01:57:39):
Yeah, one and a half. The Bills beat the.

Speaker 2 (01:57:44):
Chiefs in the regular season and then lose to him
in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (01:57:49):
That's that's usually them.

Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
When two teams this good are playing against each other.
I want the points I'm going. I'm going Bills plus
the one and a half I give me. I think
these teams are pretty I think they're the two best
teams in the a f C. The difference between them is.

Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
It's gonna kill me right now, tiny hair of a fraction, It's.

Speaker 1 (01:58:20):
Gonna kill me. But I gotta go Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:58:24):
Oh so you want that five man zebra advantage on
your side, like it's like an ulcer in my stomach. God,
this is gonna be the week where the Chiefs the Chiefs.
They're gonna get screwed by the rest.

Speaker 1 (01:58:41):
Dad was born in Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
And you're gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
Dad, You're gonna come in here and talk about how
you got screwed by the official.

Speaker 1 (01:58:49):
I'm gonna talk about how I I won because the officials.

Speaker 2 (01:58:53):
H Colt Steelers isn't a bad game. Look looking at
the rest of.

Speaker 1 (01:58:58):
Them, that's a good defense.

Speaker 2 (01:59:00):
I think that's probably going to be the most total
wins between Jackson Raiders. Don't entice you, No, No, not
so much, Panthers, Packers.

Speaker 3 (01:59:12):
Uh, not so much.

Speaker 1 (01:59:14):
Vikings Lions is the only one that I could see,
just because if JJ has that emergence.

Speaker 2 (01:59:20):
Let's go Colts Steelers because that game is Steelers are
division leaders. Obviously, Colts are the best record in the AFC.
These are two of the top Which way I'm going
to go four team.

Speaker 1 (01:59:30):
You're gonna well, how am what's the over under on the.

Speaker 3 (01:59:32):
Three and a half? Oh in Pittsburgh? Kick off all day?
Oh man? All right, well, I love how that works out.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
Because you're gonna go with Aron.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
Huh Colts minus three and a half again. Eventually, I've
got to be right about this Colts team.

Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
I really don't.

Speaker 1 (01:59:56):
Think that they were like the Vikings are fourteen and two.
We were saying they were gonna lose all year.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
Weren't they fifteen in two because don't you play seventeen
games now?

Speaker 1 (02:00:05):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, because it came down to the last game,
them and the Lions, and they actually beat the Lions,
didn't they believe? So yeah, they beat the Lions to
go to get the better record.

Speaker 2 (02:00:20):
But I think I still I think that's uh, that's
who your present day colts are.

Speaker 1 (02:00:26):
So we've got four in LG. That's what she said.

Speaker 2 (02:00:30):
Would you like to help us out and pick a
number one through? How many games are there? There's four
teams on by so one through fourteen can't be fourteen?

Speaker 1 (02:00:46):
Three? Three, very enthusiastic.

Speaker 3 (02:00:50):
Three, gay, okay, good, nice work, LG. This actually is
a fun one.

Speaker 2 (02:00:57):
Speaking of the three and four Minnesota Vikings, Oh traveling
to Detroit?

Speaker 1 (02:01:05):
Yeah, so is the Vikings Detroit game?

Speaker 3 (02:01:07):
Did you see this line?

Speaker 1 (02:01:09):
Uh? Detroit minus six and a half, eight and a half.

Speaker 3 (02:01:13):
Oh, but who's Minnesota playing at quarterback?

Speaker 1 (02:01:17):
They're going back to JJ and they're at the Lions.

Speaker 3 (02:01:20):
At Detroit covering eight and a half.

Speaker 1 (02:01:24):
Oh, man, how do you I mean you still have Jefferson, Addison, Mason,
Aaron a solid d ah. I gotta take I gotta
take the points.

Speaker 3 (02:01:41):
Taking the Vikings plus eight and a half.

Speaker 1 (02:01:44):
Yeah, I gotta take the points.

Speaker 2 (02:01:48):
Man, my friend, I fear this is going to be
a week we look back on.

Speaker 1 (02:01:58):
And say this was the pivotal moment and say this
is where we got four We got four ones, four
of them we don't agree on.

Speaker 3 (02:02:04):
This is where a potential.

Speaker 2 (02:02:08):
Separation or a passing in the standings took place. Because
I don't trust J. J. McCarthy, and I don't trust
anybody they could potentially bring in off the street. Give
me lions to cover the eight and a half.

Speaker 1 (02:02:23):
Here's the thing. The reason why I did the points
is because I think they're gonna slow the game down,
lean heavy on the run, and they're not gonna be
able to let Jared Goff, Gibbs and Brown Laporta all
them just to do what they want to do.

Speaker 2 (02:02:41):
You know, so, well, eight and a half points in
a division game. Usually I would say, so, I'll tell
you what I'm what I'm trying to do here. I'm
trying to learn my lesson from last week, where I
used all of this same logic. I said, dude, Giants,
seven and a half points in a division game at home,

(02:03:03):
give me the Giants to cover to cover against the Eagles.
The division games, aren't they.

Speaker 3 (02:03:11):
We'll never know. We'll never never know.

Speaker 2 (02:03:14):
So I lead fifteen to fourteen overall, but we are
different on four of our five.

Speaker 3 (02:03:21):
Picks for this week. So should be some movement.

Speaker 1 (02:03:25):
LG.

Speaker 3 (02:03:26):
Let's do some lightning round.

Speaker 1 (02:03:28):
Shout out, super appreciate you upset alert Saints over rams heyol,
I really bold. I will take that. I will take that.

Speaker 2 (02:03:40):
That is that's a lot of faith in uh Tyler shuck.
I I'm not so sure about that. I did see.
We also got Mark became a member as well.

Speaker 1 (02:03:52):
So Mark, shout out to be a member.

Speaker 2 (02:03:55):
Man, you have joined the monthly Dinner Club for members
that we will be we will be conducting in the
very very near future.

Speaker 3 (02:04:04):
Anything else I missed? Uh no, that should be it.
Let's go all right, help me, LG. Let's do some
lightning round.

Speaker 2 (02:04:10):
I'm gonna keep it short since we squeezed so much
in uh here tonight, because I I want to save
enough time for the video.

Speaker 3 (02:04:20):
I have to close us out.

Speaker 2 (02:04:22):
It was a on this Day clip, but I will
say we didn't obviously get a chance to talk a
lot of college football because we're so squeezed time wise
this week. But Brian Kelly, finally from the moment he
walked onto the court during an LSU basketball game and

(02:04:44):
talked about.

Speaker 3 (02:04:46):
Me and my family. We are so happy to be
amongst you here at LSU.

Speaker 2 (02:04:52):
Louisiana State University.

Speaker 1 (02:04:55):
Used to make the best jumper line.

Speaker 3 (02:04:58):
You ever.

Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
You never had, son of a gun Stu oh Man. Yeah,
Brian Kelly, most of the deserving.

Speaker 3 (02:05:07):
The midwestern Catholic redneck.

Speaker 1 (02:05:10):
Now who you know whose name got shot around?

Speaker 2 (02:05:12):
No longer on that. I mean, I've seen a few.
Which one are you thinking? Or which one are you saying?

Speaker 1 (02:05:19):
The old Mississippi bud slide, Arkansas water to fall. Mike Gundhy,
There's no way if you give Mike Gundhy the weapons
that l s U can provide.

Speaker 2 (02:05:34):
I think Mike Gundhy needs to tell his agent to
back off on floating rumors because no one believes that.

Speaker 3 (02:05:41):
No one believed.

Speaker 1 (02:05:42):
You don't think someone who took a low level tier
school that only had two to three star prospects and
made them a should have been in the Natty.

Speaker 3 (02:05:54):
One year, one year out of twenty.

Speaker 1 (02:05:56):
B always had a winning record, except for the first
year and last year.

Speaker 3 (02:06:01):
Right, See how many of those were?

Speaker 1 (02:06:05):
So many teams that were going for sure and was
constantly had like he had a running of double digit
win seasons for like eight years.

Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
But you're describing, and now, get pretty good college coach,
not someone that LSU is.

Speaker 3 (02:06:22):
Going to money whip. Now get hired recruits. Now give
him some five star recruits.

Speaker 2 (02:06:28):
If Gundy wants to coach again, he should start looking
around the Oklahoma for a if they need to. Yeah,
you know they would him and Governor Landry would fit in.

Speaker 3 (02:06:41):
Just find there. There's no they're looking. They're going big.

Speaker 2 (02:06:44):
They're gonna try the money whip, like someone like Dan
Lanning at Oregon, which I think he would say no
in a heartbeat. But LSU views themselves like Alabama. Here's
a fun fact for you, l SU. Literally LSU has
only been good in our lifetimes.

Speaker 1 (02:07:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:07:03):
So they had a ten win season in nineteen eighty seven,
whenever I was two years old. The last ten win
season they had before that one was nineteen fifty one.

Speaker 1 (02:07:16):
Yeah, so from fifty.

Speaker 3 (02:07:17):
One to eighty seven, yeah, no ten win seasons and
then they got Saban and Les Miles.

Speaker 2 (02:07:23):
One in your Oklahoma State Brethren and then State, and
then it was ed or Darn who actually had the
best team of any in that run.

Speaker 3 (02:07:32):
So ls use a big one though.

Speaker 2 (02:07:34):
That's bigger to me than Penn State or any of
the other openings right now.

Speaker 1 (02:07:38):
That's the biggest a one job opening. All right, hit
me LG Alright, we got the fantasy football sports case.
Oh yeah, freecap.

Speaker 3 (02:07:51):
Let's hear this.

Speaker 1 (02:07:52):
Let's hear this. Bricker falls. The bricker sall Ferguson rolled
over King Henry won twenty to ninety six. The wild
card is back. Defeend the AI overlords who blew his
circuit one twenty five oh to sixty one. Probably bye
week hell Eli Zupers grabs that win one fourteen over

(02:08:12):
eightolph one fourteen over eighty nine, No third right for him.
James Gang loses his streak on a tough loss one
forty one to one thirty nine to Tulsa State Fair.
Ride That ride ended so quickly for you, James Momentumers
gained their momentum one thirty by beating Papaya Zefc, who's

(02:08:35):
on a losing streak. I hate to one o four
one thirty to one oh four.

Speaker 2 (02:08:39):
I hate saying the momentumers get momentum.

Speaker 1 (02:08:42):
And then the miow creamed all over the captain M
one twenty nine to ninety when the captain what happened?

Speaker 3 (02:08:53):
How do you only score ninety? Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:08:54):
When Baker Mayfield puts up one point? Oh? That that
kind of you know, that one hurt?

Speaker 3 (02:09:03):
What did I miss? How bad was his day?

Speaker 1 (02:09:06):
They just they played in New Orleans, they didn't have.

Speaker 3 (02:09:08):
To Yeah, so he just didn't do much?

Speaker 1 (02:09:11):
Yeah stats one point one? Bro, I was like, are
you kidding me? He had one hundred and fifty two
passing yards, three sacks and a fumble loss. That was it,
you know? So?

Speaker 2 (02:09:27):
And then also I also might have had more Fantasy points.

Speaker 1 (02:09:31):
Than Gotard on the bench. But vdel Goldstein at ah
Shane Daddle, Come on, come on, you cannot keep on
playing Chewa Hubbard when Daddle Rico was doing work like that,
you got it?

Speaker 3 (02:09:46):
How many touches did Rico get? Can you see?

Speaker 1 (02:09:49):
He got out touched by Hubbard? Like I have Hubbard
on the team. Ibbard got nine points. I don't know
if they give me the touches. However, had twelve twelve
touches and Daddle had eight. Wow, Like I know it
was the bell cow. You got to run Rico when

(02:10:12):
he's hot.

Speaker 2 (02:10:13):
Yeah, I mean when you have five hundred rushing yards
over a three game span, I'm not sure you just
immediately go back to giving because it's not I mean
two my humbred is good, but it's it's not like
you're talking about so Jonathan Taylor, McCaffrey or Saquan or exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:10:31):
But with Trey McBride, Henry who's a twenty burger, with
Davante Adams who's a twenty burger on buys, and Baker
giving me one point.

Speaker 3 (02:10:41):
Yeah, I can see, I can actually see you.

Speaker 1 (02:10:44):
Got lucky this week. Man.

Speaker 3 (02:10:46):
Yeah, well no, it sounds like you.

Speaker 1 (02:10:47):
Got no you gotta hit me on my bye week.
It sounds like hit me on my I'm gonna set
it up where we we're gonna do. We're gonna getctacular.

Speaker 2 (02:10:56):
Spectacular ownership combined with an a well scouted coaching again,
because ownership found the best head coaching candidate available. It
just sounds like it was. It's an organizational win. That's
what I like to call that. That's that's a full
complementary organizational win for chairman meal and everyone involved shout

(02:11:21):
out zeb hit me LG.

Speaker 3 (02:11:25):
So since we talked.

Speaker 2 (02:11:26):
Last week, if you remember, you asked me about my
old stars, how the Dallas Stars were doing, and ever
since I was joking about an eighty two and o season,
they hadn't won a game since.

Speaker 3 (02:11:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:11:39):
So over the weekend they played two games. Both of
them they got down two to nothing to start the game.
Both of them they came back and won. So we're
back on a win streak, back on the good side overall.
But more importantly, it sounds like news is starting to

(02:11:59):
break that Thomas Harley, they're All Star stud starter for
Team Canada defenceman. He's about to sign an eight year,
ten and a half million dollar a year contract, which
is huge for I mean, that sounds lower than the
mid level exception in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (02:12:17):
It's eighty five million for half your half your hockey career.

Speaker 3 (02:12:22):
Like that's that's that's a huge chunk of money for
Thomas Harley.

Speaker 1 (02:12:26):
And it looks like the Stars might pull one.

Speaker 2 (02:12:28):
Out of Oh yeah, and we are. We were active tonight.
What's the score? Did you know? Okay?

Speaker 1 (02:12:33):
Like, how good? How good? Are the Capitals not that good? Well?

Speaker 3 (02:12:36):
They were actually really good last year. They I mean,
you know, ovi ovi set the gold record last year.

Speaker 1 (02:12:48):
All right, we have if you had this on your
bingo card. Monkeys on an overturned truck in Mississippi. I
wonder I try to see herpes and covid escaped? Did
you the truck crash? But luckily we shot them. All.

Speaker 3 (02:13:08):
Oh, they've already been taken care of.

Speaker 1 (02:13:10):
We killed them.

Speaker 3 (02:13:11):
Where was it at again, Mississippi?

Speaker 1 (02:13:14):
You think this is a Florida thing?

Speaker 3 (02:13:15):
Yeah? Like did you see how big?

Speaker 2 (02:13:17):
So when I heard I'm thinking like little like lab
test monkeys.

Speaker 1 (02:13:22):
Yeah they were forty pounds. Yeah yeah, they're like big.
Yeah good? So like that monkey gets you? Yeah, try
to wrestle a forty pound monkey ripping at your face
like the.

Speaker 2 (02:13:35):
Officials were describing. Uh, you know, not only did they
have all of were the carriers of hepsi, herpies, and covid. Uh,
they also were aggressive towards humans by nature. So it
was like, you know, absolutely, do not try to interact
with these what was what disease riddled monkeys?

Speaker 1 (02:13:56):
Did we see this in a movie with the monkeys?

Speaker 3 (02:14:00):
Isn't that yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:14:01):
Or something like that?

Speaker 3 (02:14:03):
Congo Congo is a great one.

Speaker 1 (02:14:06):
That wasn't disease though, was it. I thought they had
the rage disease, just aggressive monkeys.

Speaker 3 (02:14:12):
Yeah, but it was because of some kind of genetic
I don't know how. I don't know. That wasn't Crichton's
best book.

Speaker 1 (02:14:21):
Hit me, LG.

Speaker 3 (02:14:23):
I got you have anything else? Before we close out?

Speaker 2 (02:14:27):
Okay, one, before we close out with some college football
fun video. Chili's is caving, which makes me think Chili's
was doing it all for a publicity stunt. They've announced
they are bringing back the skillet caso.

Speaker 1 (02:14:43):
Oh, everybody can get burned again immediate, which again.

Speaker 3 (02:14:49):
Kind of tells me.

Speaker 1 (02:14:50):
You know, how many people say Chili's has like a
good burger, like one of the better burgers for the price.

Speaker 3 (02:14:56):
I mean, for what it is, sure, I guess.

Speaker 1 (02:14:58):
Like I'm don't. I used to. That was one of
my first jobs, dishwashing, and they tried everything in the
world because, like, you know, I'd like I do my
jobs good, you know. Sure, But it was the fact
that I speak English and they can communicate with.

Speaker 3 (02:15:12):
Me that helps.

Speaker 1 (02:15:13):
The front of the house. They're like, don't ever leave
this job, and I was like, man, as soon as
I become as soon as I can get out of
here and be a busser awaiter, I'm gone, gone, yeah,
I was, what do you think this is a sweat
tip here? Bro?

Speaker 3 (02:15:25):
How did you think you were ever going to convince
me that I'm saying?

Speaker 1 (02:15:28):
I was like back then making seven to like I know,
I was, it was.

Speaker 3 (02:15:37):
You got raised.

Speaker 1 (02:15:38):
I was making that six fifty. I started out. I
started out on top.

Speaker 2 (02:15:43):
Chili Chili is to me, my first memory of Chili's.
This is how po dunk bomb b f E Country
I was. Chili's was the first restaurant I took a
real date.

Speaker 1 (02:15:57):
To all the fancy one and you're ready for this.

Speaker 2 (02:16:01):
We had to drive twenty minutes to the next town
over to go get our fancy triple dippers and chicken
crispers and skillet caeso from Chili's. And when when the
Chili's opened in Granbury, Texas home of the Proud Boys.
When when Chili's opened over there it was right next

(02:16:22):
to the.

Speaker 1 (02:16:23):
Gig One movie.

Speaker 3 (02:16:24):
Well, I mean kind of.

Speaker 1 (02:16:29):
It's kind of good.

Speaker 3 (02:16:30):
I mean, they do jam a bunch of YMCA.

Speaker 1 (02:16:33):
They wear Hawaiian shirt.

Speaker 2 (02:16:34):
I mean, I mean, uh no, Chili's was that was
a game changer for the high school dating scene of
Glen Rose, Texas. But we are not here to talk
about Chili's. We got to close it out with some
college football. The one thing UTSA announced they're going to
play ut Rio Grande Valley starting next year as a

(02:16:55):
non conference game. And if you've missed it, it's ut
rgv's inaugural year this year, and they're getting votes to
almost crack the top twenty five.

Speaker 3 (02:17:04):
Like they're good. They're like six and two or something.
They're FCS the division right below. But the funny thing
is now.

Speaker 2 (02:17:14):
UTSA won't leave I thirty five for their non conference
games next year. They'll play they have Texas Texas State.

Speaker 3 (02:17:23):
They're gonna host ut Rio Grand Valley in North Texas.

Speaker 2 (02:17:28):
No, they're other one hell, I don't remember, but they're
never it's all it's Austin San Marcus.

Speaker 3 (02:17:35):
Oh, it's they host someone else. I can't remember. It's
not Army or someone. But also sports Center is going
to be on campus Thursday afternoon here in town. But
all of.

Speaker 2 (02:17:47):
That UTSA news aside on this day in two thousand
and seven, technically it was yesterday, but go with me
on yes, in two thousand and seven. I remember this
play vividly, but I had no memory whatsoever that it

(02:18:11):
involved Trinity University. The other one of the other football
programs we have here in San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (02:18:18):
Is this the like statue of Liberty player.

Speaker 2 (02:18:20):
It's it's known as the Mississippi Miracle or lateral Palooza.

Speaker 4 (02:18:29):
Two seconds ago, the Tigers need a touchdown. The ball
is on the thirty nine yard line. They have to
score on this play or the game's over. Bore has
got three wide receivers to his left. Trinity was nineteen
Division three Thompson playing number twenty four, So it was.

Speaker 3 (02:18:48):
That curry of Curry.

Speaker 4 (02:18:50):
Game later, is it again.

Speaker 3 (02:18:51):
Amongst Covision three?

Speaker 4 (02:18:53):
Team comin now on the lateral and now the lateral
to Thompson and he lateral is it back to Maddox
on the other side, Maddix looking for a block.

Speaker 3 (02:19:00):
There's so many times this lateral Curry.

Speaker 4 (02:19:03):
Now elateral is at the Curry. Curry's at the forty
nine yard line. He's dancing around. He throws it back
loud of Maddox, who throws it across.

Speaker 1 (02:19:11):
The field of Barmore looking the run.

Speaker 4 (02:19:15):
A convoy.

Speaker 1 (02:19:16):
He's gonna throw it to Thompson. Thompson's at the.

Speaker 4 (02:19:18):
Thirty yard line. Tompson now latter is it back to
Curry at the thirty five They're running out of spaces.
Curry fakes he's gonna later on.

Speaker 1 (02:19:26):
Thomas has to go.

Speaker 4 (02:19:28):
Tom has got a chance to go elater is it
now He's gonna go to Maddox. Maddicks at the A
couple of times it's elateral and Curry still going to
work carry Where's Curry?

Speaker 3 (02:19:50):
The game is Tiger's.

Speaker 2 (02:19:52):
Whim and Trinity ends up winning that game in what
probably has to also be the longest play in terms
of total time it took to get that wrapped up.
But I completely forgot that was Trinity San Antonio whenever.

(02:20:13):
I mean granted seven when it happened. When I saw
it on Suitory CENTERTSA didn't have a football team. I
was four years away from living in San Antonio and
seven I was still paying taxes in Stevenville, Texas and
going to Tarleton State University. Also, Tarleton's really good this

(02:20:33):
year in football. But that will do it for the
week of broadcasting.

Speaker 3 (02:20:37):
We will not be in the room Thursday because LG's
working Spurs I'm going to viagraa Boys Friday cap. Tell
the good people how they can get ahold of you, though.

Speaker 1 (02:20:47):
The Captain's shared too well know on Instagram and Twitter.

Speaker 2 (02:20:50):
You can find me on x at Biggest Puma on
Instagram Biggest Dot Puma.

Speaker 1 (02:20:56):
LG.

Speaker 3 (02:20:56):
When's the next stream?

Speaker 1 (02:20:57):
Saturday?

Speaker 3 (02:20:58):
Possibly Saturday?

Speaker 2 (02:21:00):
Possibly, Come hang out at LG's in LG's house. Be
on the lookout, though I'm still I've got the roommate
poised and primed to do an episode of Who Won
the Internet, especially now since we're not gonna be back Thursday.
But enjoy the games, enjoy Halloween. You'll be good, be safe.

Speaker 1 (02:21:19):
Peace.

Speaker 3 (02:21:19):
We'll be back next week.

Speaker 1 (02:21:20):
Peace.

Speaker 4 (02:21:24):
Kids. What do we say about drugs?

Speaker 1 (02:21:32):
