In this powerful and emotionally charged episode of The Sports Cave with Biggest Puma, host Sam Freas returns to the mic with co-host Cap and producer DJ LG to deliver a show that’s equal parts heartfelt, hilarious, and hard-hitting.

The episode opens with a somber and deeply personal reflection on the devastating Hill Country floods that rocked Central Texas over the July 4th weekend. Sam shares firsthand accounts of the destruction, the heroism of young camp counselors, and the emotional toll on families and first responders. It’s a raw, unfiltered segment that reminds us of the power of community, compassion, and action. As Sam puts it: “If compassion isn’t your first instinct right now, then just don’t put anything out there.”

From there, the crew pivots to the lighter side of sports and culture, riffing on everything from National Dive Bar Day to the absurdity of pyrotechnics at soccer matches. They dive into the CONCACAF Gold Cup final, breaking down the gritty U.S. performance against Mexico and what it means for the future of American soccer. Expect passionate takes, unexpected stats, and a few classic Puma rants.

Other highlights include:
  • A fiery AFC East preview: Can anyone dethrone the Bills?
  • MLB All-Star snubs and the Yankees’ rollercoaster
  • A hilarious deep dive into BYU’s “soaking” scandal
  • The return of Dicky Lovelady and Keith Hernandez’s legendary commentary
  • A sneak peek at the new NCAA Football video game and Les Grossman’s cinematic comeback

normal surroundings here on the greater North side of San Antonio.
I am your host, Sam Freeze. Where we find ourselves
two weeks away, fourteen days from your Dallas Cowboys reporting
to Oxford. Where are the fourteen nine week? Where do
the Niners do training camp? We?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Uh, we stay in Cali?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
You do right? Yeah, it would be It would be
highly ironic if y'all came like did San Antonio, like
the Alamodo back like the Cowboys did. Now that voice
you hear, of course, is the cap back with me?
And uh the drops you hear are courtesy of the
producer extraordinary, none other than DJ LG in Parts unknown

(01:08):
really just in a different room. Do we have a
solid connection? I assume the drop The drops always give
me confidence. Give you When I hear a drop in
the first thirty seconds of a.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Show, if it's a machine that doesn't think for itself,
I have full confidence.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
It means we probably have good connection with LG LG.
How how are things in the other room?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Don't hate on our AI overlords.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I will I will rebel. I am, I will sign
up for that rebellion.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Sir, I think we need people like you because then
the AI will avoid people like me and LG.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
How are we supposed to spread our seed?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
We need you?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
AI is going to help you with that too, I
get Actually, I.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Bet did you think that you can pick your Of course,
of course I've been telling you China has been doing
this for years.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Of course we had any basketball players drafted. Well, Hi,
I think that.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I think there is some uh, I think there's some
obvious anecdotal evidence that would suggest it's probably been happening
for a while. Oh yeah, If you're not interested in
fourteen days till cowboys report to ox NERD, can I
interest you in today being the National Day of rock
and Roll? How much of a generic throwaway give up

(02:26):
is that?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Can we just make it the National Day of jon
Jet or something?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Well? Okay, all right, all right, you don't like National
Day of rock and Roll? How about National Koi Day?
You know? The little uh, little Japanese fish.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Those poor fish.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Wait are queer Japanese fish? Right?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Or do we just always assume is that like an
American thing like, uh, the orange chicken isn't really Chinese food.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
There is any fish Japanese proverb where the joy the
coyfish swims upstream to become a dragon or something like that.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I was about to say, you sounded so confident until
the dismount.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I don't know about the details on this.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
But dismount is where you lost you lost me.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I was learned that from the tattoo artists because they
have to be you know, congruent and accurate.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
With they don't have to be I've plenty of bad tattoos. No,
this means warrior.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Actually it means it means your buttole Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, for lack of a better phrase, LG. Tell the
good people how they can help us out here before
we get into some content tonight.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Of course, you can help us out by leaving a tippet,
buy me a coffee, dot com slash sports Cave Live,

Speaker 2 (04:02):
That really helps us out.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, I saw we're still short of a still short
of four hundred we need to get I will I
will continue to remind people.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
If we get four hundred this episode.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Wait, hold on, everyone praying racers. No, don't volunteer volunteering me.
Oh yeah, that's not how this works. I thought we
were about to have a shirtless cap for the rest
of the episode.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Man, I don't want to dip those numbers.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, the the mass exodus of subscribers. We could just
watch it in real time. LG could have a little
counter going there goes another, it goes another. We could
see the names like seeing like my grandma unsubscribes.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Or something your grandma bought me a coffee.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Hey, now, then we then we would have a story.
Then we would actually have some content to get to.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
No, I continue to remind people, it's uh YouTube subscriptions
are absolutely free. So uh you know a lot of
people that do what we're trying to do are dependent
on you know, member only subscription or monthly charges, none
of that, none of that. Just if you have a

(05:13):
YouTube account, please give us a free subscription.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I tell someone I was like, once we get to
five hundred and get the super chat going, we're going
to be interacting with the audience a whole lot more.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, and I want to get you know, at this
point the you know, the audience interaction, there's not much
to interact about, like well, I mean sports wise, like
are like what are we gonna do? Get hot sports
opinions about Summer League, Like we were watching seventy six
ers versus Thunder early.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Someone brought up the best sports duo of all time
any sport.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's a thinker. Okay, that's a thinker.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Say Adrian Nui and Sebastian Vettel. Probably I knew this
was going to be hotey your clothes hockey definitely foreign
That would be the height of red bull dominance in
Formula one. No, I want to uh, I want to
get to five hundred by football season. Yeah, because super
chats during because we're gonna talk an a ton of

(06:13):
football in about a month and a half.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Football takes precedence, and I'm talking about one way, use
your hands, not just your feet.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Well, ironically, we're gonna talk about both types of football tonight,
because our main segment we are starting our NFL division previews.
I tried to start just so you know, we'll do
some housekeeping here. We're gonna do NFC East last. You
had to know that was the case in honor of
your participation in the program. Here we'll do NFC West

(06:46):
second to last. Okay, so the last week of our.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Reviews, you didn't want to do a NFC East right
before the Hall of Fame game.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
No, No, I want to say, I want to see
if Cavante Turpin is gonna get out of prison or
if Frisco PD has he doesn't have a charge out.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
He's fine.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
We're gonna talk about that in the lacking round. No,
we got to talk about the USA Mexico game in
a little weekend sports recap two. But we are starting
with the least appealing, in my opinion, of the NFL divisions,
that is the a f C East. How's that? What
a great way to promote and uh sell them. We're

(07:25):
gonna we're gonna talk about will the Jets be able
to pass their Vegas win projections of five and a half.
That will be our main segment East.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Or West East. Well, Vegas is at East.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
No, I'm saying Vegas gambling. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Man, them having a team just blow it makes it.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, just wait till the NBA team gets there as well,
because that's only probably two or three years away. I
know we've been riffing and joking a lot about these
national days and it's fun.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
It's fun. It's fun, but it is for the good ones.
It is good awareness. But you know some of them
are just well.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
We have Pride Disability Day coming up Thursday, as Chip
carry uh let us know about Cardinals will be doing
a giveaway for that. Uh so I joke, I joked
it was National Day of Rock and Roll. Uh and
also somehow National coy Day. On top of that, it's

(08:31):
National dive bar Day and National Macaroni Day, National Strawberry
Sunday Day.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
How many you can't get.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
We're still going, We're still going. This is the biggest giveaway,
this is the biggest throwaway of all of them. National
Father Daughter take a Walk Day. So yeah, that was
one six six days.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Take a walk day with your daughter. That's a good
wholesome family back.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I find that incredibly exclusive because, uh, if you need
the exclusionary because I don't have a daughter and I
would like to be involved in the daily celebration.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
We'll go snatch me.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
I also didn't have a dad that would take me
on a walk. So now you're picking at old scabs.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Man, he's gonna make me cry over you.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Thanks a lot, Thanks a lot, National Day Calendar dot Com.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Thanks, thanks made up holiday day guy?

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Now uh now by uh it. I wasn't a daughter,
so I didn't have to worry about National take a
Walk hair. Yeah, that would have been My grandpa was like,
you look like you would need to take a walk
as a daughter National Father Daughter take a Walk Day.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
My dad's listening right now. He's like, I'm gonna try
to stay up and listen. Yes, he tells me, I
look like a girl with my hair.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Wait, stay up and listen, dude.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
He goes to bed like a six thirty minute when
when the golf when Golf channel is done, he's down.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
How do you wake up?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Won't you? I don't know that's a lot about big
t you have to answer to Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I don't know how I could ever go to sleep
before eight o'clock. Just sports viewing wise, will.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
We visit that when you're like sixty eight years old. Oh, man,
do you think it's cute?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
I'm happy you think I'm gonna make it to almost seventy.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I didn't say that too. I'm forty two trying to
hold on.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Wow, give it, you've still got twenty six more years
to get to.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Now, look, this one is obviously starting in a there's
no good way to do a weekend recap on this Monday.
I mean it, it's as we sit here now. I mean,
I think the official death toll in our across our
state is over one hundred. And it's not obviously what

(10:54):
we have been impacted here in our area. But that
whole storm stretched all the way up to San Angelo,
So I mean San Angelo is experiencing catastrophic flooding and
death all through that, you know, San Angelo, Mason Junction,
Curville Line, and then all the way curling over to

(11:16):
Austin Leander.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
And by now everybody's seen how fast that. Like, I'm
sure we've all seen that river crossing where the time
last are on the bridge, and how fast that. Man,
that's just sad to see. Man, I don't know if
you ever I went to Camp one year as a kid,
and it's always by a river, you know, and.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
That's what that's what makes camp fun. Yeah, you look forward.
That's what you look forward to is random jumping on
the blob and getting launched into the river.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
I didn't go to expensive camp. We didn't have a blob.
We had a rope.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Swing's personally, I would say that's even better.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
We uh a little bit of danger in that one. Yeah,
heart goes out man. And also to all the first responders. Man,
having to deal with doing that job has got to
be the worst thing I could possibly think of because
you're sitting there just you're you're not really looking for
life at that at this time, you're looking for closure

(12:19):
to families hurt and devastation.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And it's it's a thankless job.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I mean it's thankful, but like when you're not doing
something like this is a thankless job and you're not
really talked about and on the same level as other
people who risk their lives and do you know, civil acts.
But this is why we live in a society of
you know, people that help people. You know, like we
don't want any of this to happen, none of us do.

(12:49):
It doesn't matter political lines, race, gender, nothing like. This
is just sad all around, and everybody's reeling for it.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Yeah, there's you know, if you if you missed the episode, Uh,
the roommate and I put out over the weekend. You know,
we were supposed to record Friday and uh you know
it it was fourth of July and you know at
that point it was starting, you know, because the flooding

(13:22):
initially was Friday morning, right, yeah, okay, you know, as we.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Were, things like started like three am.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Yeah, and and really within half an hour, less than
half an hour.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, that's thirty feet up.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah. Yeah, and you know, campsite's gone, building's gone.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
And trust me, you're not awake at three o'clock in
the morning. Only camp very rarely, like probably like the
last day of camp.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
We would try to see.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah I'm going to stay up all night.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But now we're exhausted from activities and doing being in
the sun, especially in this heat.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Yeah. You know, as the roommate and I were, you know,
super excited about put now you know, a Friday episode
bringing back Who Won the Internet? It, I don't know,
it felt kind of it felt trivial to try to
play you know, pop culture grab ass while yeah, you know,

(14:16):
it didn't. As the weekend proceeded, you know, I'll peel
the curtain back a little bit. Stuff talked about it,
you know last night on the episode we put out,
you know, her parents live. I think she said they
they ended up market. It's like one point seven miles

(14:36):
from from the Guadaloupe and there they live on the
wearing side, the welfare wearing side of comfort, so the
other side of I ten. And you know, there they
were far enough removed that there wasn't the you know,
threat of of you know, their safety being in danger. Yeah,

(14:58):
but now they're you know, kind of in that stretch
where a lot of the recovery and rescue operations are
going on.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
So you know we I bet getting in out of
there is just a hassle. Yeah, I deal with.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, you know, it's it's one of those like you
don't obviously you don't want to get in their way, Yeah,
but you also want to go out and see your parents,
see your in laws, talk to you know, make sure
everything's okay. And then you know, I would be lying
if there wasn't you know, not perverse nature, but the
the you know the side of me that I wanted.

(15:33):
I wanted to see it with my own eyes because
I've seen that river my whole life. You know, I've
I've floated every part of the Guadaloupe from you know,
living being going you know, being a Texas State student
living in San Marcos to now living in San Antonio
and hitting you know, parts further up your canyon lake
that I had never gotten on before.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
It would give you some you know, perspective in life
in itself and stuff. It's not like you're sitting there
trying to go when it's thirty feet high and the
destruction's happening and you're getting in the way just to go.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Check it out. Yeah, that's totally different.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yeah, So no, to go see that and pay respect,
yeah to it. And you know, mother nature, I mean,
as cruel as it can be. It's an amazing ecosystem
that you know, and that's you know, their volcanoes are awesome,
but they also take they're also catastrophic.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
There were a lot of.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
People, you know, and I don't want to I don't
want to sit here and pick and choose who we
you know, call out or attack about takes on. Like
anybody that is making this in any way political theater.
It's like just go to hell, like that's it's not
like but it doesn't matter. I got no time for

(16:45):
it at no time, Like are there legitimate like does
there need to be questions asked about why the Texas
legislator didn't pay for sirens when they had the opportunity
in twenty seventeen when a bill got killed. Yeah, let's
let's ask those questions.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
But this this one maybe not can't matter at any way,
but like those are questions that need to be asked,
but at a later time, let's get through this, let's
get some closure for some families.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
And just compassion is not your first instinct right now,
then just don't put anything out there, because that's really
compassion and action are the two things that are needed
right now. And posting a snarky comment about the Spurs
not donating when they immediately an hour later donate, so

(17:35):
like that just doesn't help anybody.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
You know, And I'm.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Posting a snarky comment about how well you know, I
saw stupa, you know, all of the Democrat influencers like, well,
that's what these people get, that's what they' that's what
they voted for that's what they deserve. And it's like, dude,
these are kids, kids, you got to be eighteen to vote.
These kids didn't vote for jack shit. And like I like,
I have voted for both parties and random elections in

(18:01):
my life. That doesn't mean I deserve this because I
voted Democrat one time more than I did Republic.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Like, it's the same thing with the fire so stupid,
the wildfires in Cali. Yeah, I sit there and tell them,
they're like, this isn't the time, and I'm like, keep
that same energy when it doesn't happen right down the
street from us.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
And I don't.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
I don't want to keep Like, I like, nobody's perfect.
I made the comments where I was it was just
a little fake news, little photograph, and it just really
irked me that we can't trust certain people in high
up places to be have be empathetic to research again
to do that, and then I had to read I

(18:41):
had to sit there and take responsibility for myself, and
I said I shouldn't have done that. Man, I'll you know,
I'll let me explain myself and what really happened. And
this was in my point, in my view, political theater
and even though you meant it as a good thing,
and I know you do, and I love this person,
you know, I made the snarky comment and I was like,

(19:02):
you know what, I'm not above anybody else for being
in being an asshole.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
You know what I'm saying. It really is.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I mean it really the I think, you know, without
getting too deep into the theory of how we got
where we find ourselves when it comes to our fighting
over everything as it's like the fact that you can
people there's just no accountability for anything anymore. So if

(19:28):
you spout off ignorance, it's okay, it's out there. We
move on like there's no there's no there's no account.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
To be.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
A weakness now for a lot.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Of that's unfortunately I was wrong.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
I like, you know, I saw it was the uh
you know, a liberal pediatrician in Houston who puts stuff
out like you know, all of the children and non
MAGA voters. I hope you're safe. Everyone else you get
with you. It's like, who does that help? Who does that?

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Like whatever, that's ugly, that's ugly, yeah, Anderson, Unfortunately, that's
business goes.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
To shambles now.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Absolutely, like we've gotten way too comfortable being ugly to
each other, and it always is the ugliest when there
is tragedy. That's the worst. That's the worst thing about it.
So all of that being said, you know, I mentioned
the roommate's stuff's parents up in Comfort Area, and you know, Saturday,

(20:29):
we were debating, you know, do we want to drive
out there? Do we want to record you know, the watching?
You know, even I put a snarky I put a
snarky story out because I was watching my normal Saturday
quad box and I had all the local channels on,
and Ken's was the only channel that wasn't going wall

(20:50):
to wall with coverage. They were showing what the PGA
Tour event, and it was Saturday, it was moving day,
it wasn't even final round. So you know, of course
I popped off something like what are we even doing here? Kids?
You know, like even Sinclair is running full. But then
as soon as I do that, I get responses from
some people that are like, hell yeah, call them out,

(21:12):
And then I get responses from other people like, well,
the other stations are just doing it for ratings anyway,
they don't actually care, and it's.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Just like we need not make it a line. We
need to we need to make a circle around.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
My elementary elementary My elementary school teacher mother would love
that analogy. You just less lines, more circles. That just
sounds like such a elementary school teacher thing to say.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
But you know, we don't trust me with your kids.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Saturday, God, Saturday, you know we decided still, you know,
let's let's I didn't I personally, I mean, as more
of the stories started coming in and uh, you know,
talking hearing from her parents of what it looked like
out there, it I mean, I had no desire to record,

(22:05):
you know, talking about Joey Chestnut eating seventy hot dogs
and returning. So we ended up recording last night. And uh,
you know, we did it after Sunday. Sunday morning, we
got up, drove out to her parents and without trying
to you know, without getting in the way, you know,

(22:28):
just tried to see what we could out there by
their house without didn't drive anywhere, you know, close to
kur or anything like that, or Hunt or anything where
the you know, the bulk of the devastation took place.
But you know, just being out there and you know,
in the first ten minutes there's three helicopters that have
buzzed the house, you know, flying load to try to

(22:50):
see anything, and then just seeing you know, their stretch
of the river, what it you know, the the wreckage
that it cast in, all the debris and personal belonging
everything it left it it. I think seeing it on
TV definitely can give you more than enough to understand

(23:14):
how bad it is.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
It gives you sixty percent of the story, one thousand.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Story, and then.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Sixty percent of the story.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
If you see that with your own eyes, you're just like,
oh my god, it's more devastating than I could ever imagine. Yeah,
and the TV doesn't do it justice. Yeah, it's well said.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
It was. You know I where I grew up, you know, uh,
we have three rivers, uh, you know that flowed through
our tiny little town, Brasis, Piluxi and Squaw Creek, and
you know there was a lot of you know, one
one summer when when I was a kid, we had

(23:50):
uh we lived in a house by the river and
you know all river rows, you know, everything outside got swat.
You know, a ice freezer, you know, like a you know,
old country freezer full of meat and random stuff floated
like it weighed absolutely nothing. So like that I was

(24:12):
probably six seven eight somewhere in there, you know, under
ten when that happened, and that like remembering the fear
of going through that as a kid, It was I
mean it was really really really hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Because you're thinking, it probably is a kid like I
want to go in there and swim and stuff like that,
until you see the fear of your parents, like until
you see their reaction.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And that was the moment where it went from I'm
about to ride this refrigerator down the PILUXI to my
mom's acting like we might not.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Yeah, because they know there's trees underneath there that could
take you out and keep you under and all this stuff,
And like there is for all you young'ins that listen
to us, there is a there is worthwhile in experience
and wisdom in us old people and speaking of it well.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
And I would still say a thirty nine year old
and a forty two year old could also remember that
as well. When you're talking about a fifty nine year
old and a sixty two year old, you know there's
still it doesn't matter how a sixty two year old
could learn from an eighty two year old. There's always
time to stop and listen and learn.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
I've always said you got one mile two ears, shut
up and listen.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
That's another Uh, that's another good elementary You would have
made a good elementary school teacher.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Apparently phrases for days now.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
You mentioned the you know, going to camp as a
as a kid. You know, that was the other you
know thing of it, watching reading the stories specifically, you know,
like I summers for me were church camp and uh,

(25:52):
you know like a Bible beach bash and boy scout
camp and so you know to hear, yeah, what was it?
Like eleven camps are right there on that one bend
of the river. They all know each other, they all.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
I don't remember what camp I went to, but it
was like eight to nine camps, and like across the
rivers was the girls camp.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
We had the boys camp.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
And that's the same way it was for us up
in North Texas.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
And there was fifteen there was probably a thousand to
fifteen hundred boys there that we only.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Stayed for a week.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
So every week they would pile in and then the
the what you mould call it, the people, the the councilors,
the counselors they're fifteen, sixteen year old kids, seventeen year
old kids.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
And you know specifically, you know, I talked about it.
I won't rehash all of it, but last night talked
a lot about the or not a lot, but talked
about the the two camp councilors that were Eagle Scouts
at the Boy Scout camp at the Legunta La Junta,
however you say it, you know it was there her

(26:59):
rosism that you know, helped clear some of those cabins
as they were literally floating down the river, swimming down
and getting kids up off that that were underwater. And
you know, just thinking like when I was, you know,
when I was seventeen years old working on my Eagle

(27:22):
Scout service project, the final requirement of you know, getting this,
you know, getting this achievement. There was still never one time,
one thought in my life where I thought, I'm getting
this achievement so that I can be a hero, or

(27:43):
so I can be I can be the guy that
saves people because of what I know. And then thinking
about those two kids, the two of them Eagle Scouts,
actually using the skills they learned at the camp to
save the kids at the camp.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Like in the fact that be to be so cool,
and like half the stuff that these you know that
first responders go through is being cool under pressure. It
is so easy to hyperventilate, have a panic attack, frozen
in fear, fly fight or flight or in. Instead, they

(28:21):
sit there, assess the situation, find out what's best to
go through, and we rely on those people. And to
have these two kids step up and be heroes and
assess the situation and save lives, that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
And there's there's so many stories of that. You know,
the I think he was either not coastguard but like
what do they call it, the reserve the kid, yeah,
that had just hit. It was his first rescue mission. Kids.
He ends up saving one hundred and like seventy something

(28:57):
people on his first actual Like you've you've been trained
to do this, now is your time, and he stepped up.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
The craziest was he was out of comms for three hours.
He couldn't he couldn't talk the copter couldn't talk to
anybody for three hours. They were just sitting there picking
up kids, dropping them off, picking them up, dropping them off,
and they couldn't tell if there was another round of
like blackout rain coming in a sheet like another you know,
anything lightning storm that could taken them down like three hours.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
But I think they're.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
About to get more God forbid, I think they're about
to get more heavy weather again tonight, potentially another flood warning.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Thoughts out for them.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Man, Yeah, I said it last night.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
If you.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Are the praying type, pray, if you are the thinking
types and thoughts, because again, compassion and action, Yeah, that's
what that's what's needed, not snarkiness, ourselves victim fault. Uh,
you know, admittedly.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Empathy, empathy exactly.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
And I say the action because the one that you know,
iHeart has gotten in touch with because also, unfortunately as
things are now, you want to make sure you're sending
If you're gonna donate money, you want to make sure
it's going to somewhere that's vetted and is actually going

(30:28):
to get directly into the hands of people in Kerr County,
in hunt In, you know, like the family from Midland
that had were just visiting for Fourth of July weekend. Uh.
So you want to make sure these, you know, any
donation gets to the people that actually need it most.
And you know, we Community Foundation dot net is directly

(30:54):
connected to UH city of Kerrville and that swath of
the hill country.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
And they'll know where to send it. Those people they
know the best.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
They know the best because it's their neighbors.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
And a lot of small businesses, man, I'm telling you,
I know, slackers is doing something.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
The slackers got multiple that they vet them, you know.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
So it's there's a lot of small businesses that like well,
that are doing stepping up.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
I saw speaking of I saw a dog father doing
proceeds on a on a specific dog or going.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Yeah, so you buy the special dog.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
One hundred percent of the proceeds that day is going
straight to that foundation. And that is we're gonna obviously,
we're gonna vet. And that's like we take response, like
everybody takes responsibility as a small business owner to make
sure that we're not just doing all this and just.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Making it like a virtual you gotta be you gotta.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, a special kind of d bag.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
There's a virtual signal over something like this.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Well there's without being uh you know, this is where
I find myself in this uh what not an oxy
a paradox. This is the paradox I find my While
I don't believe in hell, I hope there is a
special place in the hell for anybody that would be

(32:15):
trying to scam any donations or anything right now, like
you deserve everything. Yeah, of course they are. Of course
they are. They walk amongst us. So again I would
one that I feel comfortable pushing people to. If you
can donate, please go to Community Foundation dot net. All

(32:36):
of that money will stay in the community that needs
it most up there in Currville, Curve Broader, Kurk County.
It's you know, obviously I knew, you know, the fourth
of July weekend, it's kind of absolutely not kind of
it took a backseat to all of.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
This, so I didn't do anything.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Yeah, I mean, are you know my besides all of that,
you know, my weekend recap was I watched a lot
of Oasis concert footage because you know, we were aunt.
We were in the house and weren't going anywhere. And
you know, my the Gallagher Brothers had their comeback reunion

(33:19):
concert first to nights.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Me and my brother Man.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I don't know when our reunion tour is going to
come back, but I'm just playing we argue we can't.
I mean, some people have real type brothers, some people
have brothers like me and my brother like we talk
once a year.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
I think I have I think I have the best.
I think I have the potentially the best setup when
it comes to that, because I don't know, my little
brother might tell you completely different. He might say, no,
there's that. The reason we don't talk is because of
the beef.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I didn't know there was a little puma.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Oh yeah, No, No, he's he is. Uh so you
see this, Yeah, he is basically the antithesis of that.
He's like five ten in CrossFit body. Uh financial like
stock manager financial. Yeah, went to went to seminary. Uh,

(34:14):
that's right.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
I was the tall athletic, and you know, I let
myself go. But you know, I was a tall athletic
doing good in school and blah blah blah. And I
think my dad thought I was gonna be like the
stockbroker type or whatnot. And my brother went to Austin
to go be weird and he's a short you know,
five foot six, you know, local screwball.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
I feel like I feel like I had the benefit
of my parents kind of early on, being like, look,
I don't know what this kid's gonna do, but it's
not gonna be what we're you know, it's like he'll
be fine, but he's not.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Gonna find yeah, exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
So yeah, no it was. I mean, besides, you know
Ozzie or Oasis concert. Watched a bunch of the performances
from the Ozzie Farewell to So Nice.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Didn't Sharon Osbourne say that she nixed one band from there?

Speaker 1 (35:12):
Who was it?

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Which I don't know, man, I don't know. In fact,
she said, like I saw on the headline that she
said one band couldn't come to his farewell tour.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Let's see if you can pull that up.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
I wonder, I mean, just taking guesses trying to think
of who she would yeah, that potentially would be.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
They seem like whoa Sharon looks Yeah, plastic surgery.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Yeah, that's that's that's that's quite a bit of when
plastic surgery. See, this is the problem with this is
the problem with headline click articles like that, because.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I just don't want to click on it to get
in that algorithm.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
I'm like, I don't want more of this, like I
did read it, and I'm like, Ozzie.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
I don't think. I don't think she has revealed the
actual band, but she did say, uh one of them.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
How are you going to say that and not give
us the band?

Speaker 3 (36:11):
You're not give us the like you're don't give us
a little morsel because because it'll.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Get, it'll get and got you to mention it now, Yeah,
no for it. It works. Yeah, I mean, we're gonna
talk some weekend sports here next. But you know, if
if y'all there was no way we could open the
show with anything other than this, you know, even though

(36:37):
the roommate and I talked about you know, basically did
the same segment last night, because it's just it's just
devastating that that's the that's the only word done.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
No.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Unfortunately, this is.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Gonna be months, especially with more rain coming. It's gonna
be months of fallout that we're gonna learn and.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Just hang in there, folks, you know, just you know.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
Yeah, if you ack in, if you can do something,
do something.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
If you if you're not able you know, financially to
do something, uh, you know, send those just just keep
it top of mind and keep the top of mind.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
You know, some people aren't able to do that at
this moment.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Well said I uh, I think on that note, Uh,
there's there's no good transition or interstitial. As I learned
last night as we were trying to spin out of
uh man got shot, I think we just found the
perfect uh well, the man that got shot uh in

(37:40):
In old school, in old days, it would have been
uh that Mexican defender that put his hand on the
ball inside the box. That should have been a penalty,
like Andres Escobar when he got shot for.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
A hard ball. God dude, how did he not get
that handbaile?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
We're talking a chorus of concaft Gold Cup finale Mexico
and US. It was a crowd worthy of a World Cup.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
In my opinion, not just that, not just the crowd
in the building. It was the most watched Gold cop
telecast in English language US history. Wow, three point seven
average three point seven to three million, peaked at five
point two million, so over at peak over five million
people watch that game. And I joke about the HM.

(38:28):
I actually I don't think that should have been called
because I don't think there's I think you're asking the
player to just face plant into the grass.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
Yeah, these guys, these guys sit there and jump and
roll in the air all the time, you know, off
of non contact. And I'll tell you that Reugh let
that game go. It was it was until he didn't.
So like till he didn't.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
It's like the game that he called eight. He called
five fouls in the first eight minutes then and then
it felt like it was a thirty minute gap before
he called in anything again.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Shirt pulling, pulling down, kicking the ship.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Yeah, ajamating guy. I mean he was just getting any
time they he would try to hold up you know there,
just pulling him down. Yeah again, keep doing exactly and
and when you're you know, when you don't have the
physical advantage, you got to pull.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
Big how big those two when they're doing that corner
kick and he's sitting there trying to use his wrestling
skills by putting his head.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
On little bird halter, Yeah, little bolder that little few,
he'll take me down. He had a great service into
the box on that first goal, but he was for
the most part, uh, you know, pretty lost non factor
against that.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
Before we get in the plague, let's learn something from
this as a nation to not look like fools during
the World Cup. Do not do pyrotechnics with the with
enclosed environments. So we have to watch a hazy I
think you're gonna mask that bat.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Oh my god, man, Like, are you joking me?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
It's so annoying.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
That was the dumbest thing.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
I'm like, it was like, I was like, no offense,
I got a little man, you got not here there LG.
It was just like, come on man. And then the turf.
We can't put real grass over astro turf. We got
two billionaires, suck it up by real grass.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Nothing.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
Yeah, the amount of slipping.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Those are the two big complaints I had because the slipping,
the pyrotechnics. It killed me. I'm like, are you joking me?
We're on world stage. You know everybody's watching this and
we're laughing stocks right now.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Well, you know, it's very it's we're conker caf man Like,
it's like we're there's there's a beauty we knew better,
there's a beauty to it, and then there's another side.
The majority of the time it's the other side. But
it's also it's the the ship housery that I tend
at times like we're not a soccer nation.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
So like the English League because it kind of show champions.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
The rest of the world can kind of look at that.
But then it makes it even better when we actually
beat someone from Uefa.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
I disagree with that, sir No.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I think the at the end of the day, Mexico
brought their A team and the US had a combination
of a couple a's, mostly b's, and even a few c's.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
I think we're going to have like half that team,
two or three or two of them were in our
in our A team, and then probably like two Swit
Malik Tillman, two more could possibly move toward No. I
think some guys, I think some guys absolutely made their
case for like Diego Luna. It'd be hard, it'd be

(41:57):
really really hard.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
To keep them off the size. It's just that's the killer.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Yeah, that's also it's the you know what created his
mentality to be that junkyard dog that he is.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
To create opportunities.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
But it also yeah, it's I mean, he's a great
option off the bench next summer during the World Cup.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
But I'll take him with sixty five minutes to go,
you know.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
Oh, absolutely run it out, like just go balls out
for half an hour. Uh, and potentially he could be
a game changer. But you know, you mentioned that that
Mexico team, outside of maybe maybe two or three players.
That's their World Cup team.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
For next year. That's what you're going to see on
the field. And they barely be US.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Well it was the scorel line was barely, but they
dominated that. They had possession two thirds.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
They looked more physical, they looked faster.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
They looked more connected and and build up plays. You know,
they of course right. And this is you know, I say, all.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
We just we showed that American grit and look that
and I like it.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
That has been when the US achieved their highest highs
in you know, my lifetime. It was when grit was
the number one attribute this quote unquote Golden generation they have.
Now what has been missing for a lot of those
players is that old school American grit. So I I think,

(43:35):
you know, as much as I usually tend to disagree.
First of all, Alexi Lawless with the cowboy hat, come on, dude,
like like, you couldn't be more dime store cowboy than that.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
There's a reason why they call it a redheaded stepchild.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
That's correct. But I will give him credit. I think
the way he framed it, the way he uh, you know,
kind of laid it out as guys like Polisic and
you know, some of the like Weston McKinney, some of
these guys that are playing in the Club World Cup,
you know, as they are reintegrated into the first team

(44:12):
national team. The expectation now is that everyone play with
the grit we saw in the Gold Cup. That's the
expect and Pochettino has made it pretty clear that that
is the baseline expectations. The skill you bring to the
team is awesome, it's great, but if you're not playing
with this kind of intensity and grit and care, you know,

(44:34):
he talked about like seeing some of the you know,
a lot of those dudes for the US that was
their first time playing Mexico. Not much less with those
you know, with the champ with the trophy on the line,
and to Burhalter, one of them. You know, to see
some of those kids actually crying over a Gold Cup loss,

(44:55):
that's a good thing. And Pochattino said, so, I'm saying
it means it. It's as clear as it can be
to show that they actually give a damn, they actually care.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Way more good takeaways than negatives.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
Yeah, I think for sure Mexico deserved Mexico. Mexico should
have won that game three to one or potentially worse,
just as much as they controlled the possession and created
like good opportunities.

Speaker 3 (45:21):
Barely on size. I'm talking like if that defender was.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
Paying attention, Well, you know that's Antonio Freeman's kid too,
Tyler Freman. Yeah, former you know packer wide receiver, that's
his son. He's twenty, He's twenty years old, and he
knew it. He just learning because because they are not
just learning, but like, well that's just that's getting.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
To the level of a soccer player to pull your line
up to those people off size and he just was
half an inch, which if you're going to use var
can we just let the technology do it for us
like we do in Wimbledon and every.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Other tennis match.

Speaker 1 (45:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
They not enough money generated in.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
The Gold Cup, so like to get to get the
exact precise you.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
Know how empty some of those stadiums were in the
group stages there, but you know, with five million people watching,
they can charge more for advertising next iteration. So uh,
all of it is to build up for next summer.
Next summer is gonna be awesome, assuming every team can

(46:27):
travel with all of their foreign players to play in
the World Cup. But it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
How much money we're gonna generate in revenue and that
just goes the taxes to help fund our country.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
There's no way, man, we can't. We can't mess this up.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
No, I would. I would assume, especially as much as
the Trumpster has been having he you know, head of
FIFA was you know, visiting the White House.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
He bought get done.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
He knows, he knows the money involved. He's not gonna
let that go to waste. But you know, obviously, great
showing for Mexico win the tournament, great showing for us A.
The question really is, uh, you know, is the the
hype of Canada being uh, you know having there. They've
got a lot of you know, I mean, their best

(47:21):
they're either their best player was not with them because
of the Club World Cup. Actually I think he was injured.
He wasn't even playing with Byron either. But you know,
they they were missing some pieces. They were kind of
like the US. They were fielding a mix of A
B and and some C option C team guys, but

(47:43):
you know, still.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
Probably scouting some bench players.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
Yeah, exactly, And that's what this you know, I'd say
it again. You know, Mexico brought their World Cup squad
to this tournament to all play together and prep for
next year. The USA and Canada are using some opportunities
to see some fringe roster guys and like you meant,
like Diego Luna, he made his case. I think he

(48:08):
is on the national team next year. Yeah, there's some
other guys on that roster that probably even though they're
not ready for a World Cup.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
Even though you're a sour on your cousin, oh freeze, yeah,
even though you're sour, like they were talking like the
goalkeeper is not solidified.

Speaker 1 (48:27):
Oh, absolutely not. Now I don't think he's the best.
He's not the best talent wise of the group. But
right now the US, their most talented options are backups
in Europe. They're not getting consistent playing time, so that's what.
But we've got a year to change that. Like Matt

(48:49):
Turner made a transfer, we'll see if he is still going,
if he gets any you know, reclaims any of his value.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
Oh yeah, Matt Turner, I forgot.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
Yeah, yeah, you know, Matt Turner didn't even start playing
soccer till he was sixteen.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Noh, played baseball, he did.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
That was his favorite sport. Actually, all in all, Gold
Cup turned out to be way more entertaining than I
honestly was expecting at the beginning of it. So uh
almost Mexico taking another trophy. Back to back Gold Cup wins.
Now for Mexico, I think that's the third time they've
done that. Yeah, it's what their tenth or eleventh Gold

(49:31):
Cup win overall, I think tenth. Maybe it's usually theirs
to lose, but yeah, there's still I think they brought
their A squad because they've underperformed in other like over
the past, like I think since last World Cup and
even before that, like US was like beating Mexico five
to zero in like another concer calf turn. Yeah, there

(49:53):
has been so and it was just like they said, eet,
we're gonna We're not taking we are, We're.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
Coming to get this one.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
And I still think with both teams filding their A lineups,
I think the US has a slight edge and in
terms of overall talent, but in Mexico, when they bring
their A team, they are it doesn't matter if you're Argentina,

(50:22):
England or us A. That's a tough team to beat
just because of the mentality they play with so, and
I'm excited to see World Cup games in Mexico next
year or yeah, next year we'll get you know, a.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Couple in Mexico City up in that altitude.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
I believe. So yeah, I'm pretty sure as Teca is
a host site. Almost positive.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
Man, they better not play during the middle of the summer.
They don't fall out.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Well, unfortunately, the World Cup is I guess that they survived.
Guitar you know survived well those they did. Uh they
air conditioned those stadiums when they built them. Yeah, it's
Mexico's getting getting Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. So yeah,

(51:08):
is a beautiful, beautiful stadium that'll be an awesome World
Cup setting.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Meanwhile, we'll have games in Cowboys Stadium and Giants Jets
Stadium and non soccer stadiums like Houston n RG where
we can bitch about the past.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Terrier a c L Giants Stadium.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Man.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
Speaking of, we're going to talk a little bit of
Club Club World Cup in the lightning round. But did
you see the Byron kid have his fibia fibula snap?
It was I watched it one time and at first
I didn't realize I was like, Oh, that doesn't look
that bad. And then I saw the directions ankle and
I was like, like, I immediate, immediate noga.

Speaker 2 (51:52):
I was like, what was it Paul George when he
snapped it that?

Speaker 1 (51:56):
Or Gordon Hayward or hell, even though you gotta hope it's.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
A cramp, I was just trying to keep the lunch
down right.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
I feel like you were intentionally prologing or prolonging gold
Cup talk because you might not want to.

Speaker 2 (52:13):
I looked at the chat.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
Thanks, thanks, alright, So what happened this weekend? Do you
have a fifty five to sixty seconds to tell us
about it?

Speaker 3 (52:25):
Give me a minute, all right? Aaron Judge still does
what he does, smash home runs and hits balls, and
he's about to catch up on your boy, Raleigh. Oh, mister, oh,
he's the best thing ever since sliced bread. Now Judge

(52:47):
is still there, He's still coming through. Bellinger made one
of the most spectacular double plays I've ever seen in
my life against the Mets, shoe stream catch where if
he this is it, it's going that's a triple if
not an inside the park home run, and then doubles
up the first doubles up the runner on first base.

(53:08):
Amazing defense, which is not what we've been doing on
this slump. Yes, we lost four in a road. You
shut your mouth, this is my minute. We lost Bourn
Road to Boo Jays and they are now leading the division.
But we are all, Hey, we're a mutter. We like
to run from the back. Our mutters were mothers, mutters

(53:29):
and mutters and mothers and mutters.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
So we coming back with a vengeance.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
I mean, what your own Smith.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
Went down with the Clay Smith? What was it?

Speaker 3 (53:39):
Mike Smith went down with the torn aca or Tommy
John surgery?

Speaker 2 (53:44):
So that's number four starting pitcher out for us?

Speaker 1 (53:49):
Yeah, well again it's number four. As my Rangers contain.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
We are better than your Rangers to.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
Not be able to get back to five hundred. They're like,
the Rangers are four and eight in games that if
they had won, it would get them back to five hundred.
They can't get over that homp. And I think we're
getting I will say, we had the you know, all
star teams announced, and you know, when you're two games

(54:19):
under five hundred, I don't think you can bitch about
All Star snubs.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
No, but who got snubbed on your inn.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Potentially, I would say Uvaldi there, his war is better
than three of the starting pitchers that were actually chosen
for the team, including the Mariners in the division, Brian
wu or Framber Valdez for that point. Also in the division,
you see.

Speaker 3 (54:46):
The Pirates pitcher, the one that has the he just
got ahead of Max Free for the Yankees. For e
ra A, yeah, yeah, like five, he's like five and
seven and my guys like ten wins.

Speaker 1 (55:01):
But that's that's where I actually, I'm a firm believer
of don't ever look at a starting pitcher's win loss record,
because when you're playing, when you're pitching on the Pirates,
the fact that you have five you've won five of
those games is a miracle. I mean that's they have
half as many wins as the Yankees. So numbers would
say if he was on the Yankees, he would be seven, eight, nine,

(55:24):
maybe ten wins. I think the Uvaldi won.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Put on those pin strikes there, buddy, As ask any.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
Ballplayer, they say the same thing.

Speaker 1 (55:35):
I'll give you that. So Uvaldi's one point seventy five
e r A. Now, granted he missed a month, which
I think hurts his case a little bit through injury one.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Point seventy five. That's not his R. Yes, it is
yes for like or is this.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Since no A this season seventy seven innings pitched one
point seventy like.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
A minimum of seventy five.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Well, there's no I mean, he's at the minimum to
be an ERA leader, Like, he hasn't missed enough time
to be removed from consideration for awards. But twenty seven
starting pitchers have posted a one point seventy five ERA
or better in the first fourteen starts of their season

(56:19):
since nineteen ninety five. So basically, there's been twenty seven
guys that have had a one point seventy five RA
in the first half of the season since nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
You know I'm checking you right now.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
Three of those guys Tim Wakefield in ninety five, who
I remember way right, but he'd in ninety five. He
wasn't converted to a starter until like mid May, so
he missed he wasn't starting the first month and a
half of the season. But the only other pitcher besides
Uvaldi is al Lighter in nineteen ninety eight, which is

(56:56):
kind of funny because al Lighter's kid is now a
picture for the Rangers starting in the same rotation as 'valdi. Yeah,
so like that's where yeah, I mentioned its two point
five war. I read this in the Dallas Morning News
earlier today. He's eighth best among ale starters in War

(57:17):
and he's ahead of three pitchers that are on the
All Star team, uh Kakuchi, Brian Wu. Like I mentioned
in Shane Smith, which Shane Smith is an All Star
because someone on the White Sox has to be an
All Star.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
No, they don't.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
They still have that rule, right, I'm pretty sure gets
an All Star. Yeah, because they you know, that's where
the conservatives are actually onto something. But also it's uh,
we didn't give ourselves orange slices and little Debbie snacks
after games like y'all gave us the participation trophies. Why

(57:54):
do you act like it was us that wanted that.
It was you that gave them to it.

Speaker 3 (57:59):
Didn't say hey, I want a trophy, and you could
have said no.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
No, And in fact, in fact you taught us when
we were kids when we asked how come we didn't
get a trophy for first place and they said, well,
everyone gets the same trophy. So again, you want to
bitch about us being the problem. We didn't do it
to ourselves. We didn't raise ourselves.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
I remember being a little league coach, like I was
a parent coach and stuff. It wasn't the kids coming
ye running up to yell at me. It was their
parents of coying like little of course it is, you know.
And I'm like, dude, I was like, you're showing your
kid you're weak. I'm like, yeah, I benched your kid.

(58:42):
Your kids sitting there out there picking daisies.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
God again, imagining you as either an elementary school teacher
or like a like a seventh grade B team coach.

Speaker 3 (58:54):
Hey, man, Like it's effective. It's like it's just like
it's like the pimp game. You gotta give them the
hand sometimes, but then you build them up, to break
them down, weild.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
To mold them. Youth sports is like the pimp game.

Speaker 1 (59:08):
To uh, pimping ain't dead, just moved to the web. Okay,
all right, to have the cho Yeah I'm not sure, Wayne,
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
No.

Speaker 1 (59:19):
I are you only even still in second place after
the weekend?

Speaker 2 (59:24):
Okay, all right, all right, shut up, I think we're tired.
Oh okay, well we didn't play today, which, hey, give
us a break, man.

Speaker 3 (59:34):
We had one day off and we had about over
twenty games played in a row in one game off
in like twenty five games. We're tired, all right, we
need to rest our, like we're starting, uh what you
we call it?

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Bullpen players. I don't even know the names of anymore.

Speaker 3 (59:52):
Like three of them pitch during the Subway series and
I was like, who the hell is this guy?

Speaker 2 (59:57):
And his e r A is twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Yeah, that's a that's a great acquisition, man, what you
want to see? And then my Smit who almost had
a no no going had a no no going in
the seventh like not only two weeks ago, is now
Tommy John Dout.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
I'm angry. Well give us the Grom.

Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
I was about to say, the Rangers do they do
have one all star starting pitcher, but he's going to
require uh.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
The GM, got it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
He's gonna de Gram's the only only Rangers All Star,
which the only other one I would even come close
to arguing is Uvalde. I thought Uvaldi was going to
be I thought that was a pretty given.

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
I think I think because he's not even on like
the like if you go to ESPN, look at the
stats and whatnot, Like he's not on the er, he's
I guess he hasn't hit the minimum amount of innings.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
So he is under the limit.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
He's under the limit, I believe because like they still.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Have uh, I don't trust what Let me go to
MLB where they still support ty Cobb. Let me see,
let me see what we have here?

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Oh what was it like?

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
And those barn amigos, those darn Astros.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Are hotter than fist grease right now.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Dude, you know what the Astros do?

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
You know what they do, man, They bang trash cans
and they win.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
They just win. They just it doesn't matter who's stays,
who leaves.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
They found a hack, they win that pitch com they
man check them?

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
What that shirt?

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Am I doing a show like pat Down? Am I
doing a show with Oral Hrscheiser? Now did you hear
his comments during that?

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Oh? I think he said something about the trash.

Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
So the you know Astros smoked the worst loss ever
Yeah at Chavez Ravine, the worst loss ever for the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Eighteen to one, seventeen run loss. So during the game,
Hersheiser literally was like, I don't want to bring up
any old os. But it sure looks like the Astros
are getting information.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
Like they know these, like they know these breaking balls,
like either so and.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Either so and so is tipping pitches, or the Astros
are up to their old ways. Basically, is what he said.

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
And can we doubt the just say the why why
we question it? Can you doubt us?

Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
Well, okay, so this is the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Doubt us.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
This is the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Though, and it is so egregiously for so long.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
That's the problem, though, the egregious nature of it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
And then they went to, you can't tell me that
Altuve wasn't wearing a buzzer, oh when he said, don't
rip off my shirt, when he waited on Chapman sure
for a breaking ball when all he was throwing was gas,
and all of a sudden, I'm gonna sit on a
breaking ball from a fastball pitcher that throws one hundred

(01:02:56):
and three miles an hour.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
But you know what else was happening in twenty seventeen,
The Dodgers had twenty seventeen. No, I'm saying what also
was happening in twenty seventeen was the Dodgers were having
a dozen interns and analysts sit right down the stairs
from the dugout to review film of every camera they

(01:03:17):
had in the stadium to try to get that same information.
They just weren't banging trash cans to relay it. Yeah,
and that's why I will I will never defend the
Astros to begin with. But the baseball fan that wants
to act like it was just the Astros doing it,
that's the thing where it's like.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
Baseball is always trying to get ahead of course, and
that's when I started. When he started the banging the
trash cans was obvious and they got caught for their idiots.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
But when you start using electronic.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Devices like blackjack players and stuff, or the.

Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
Anal beads like the chess player when he was beating
Magnus Carlson.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
You always go to the anus.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Well, look, I never thought I would ever read a
headline that had anal beads and world chess champion and
it was Sametor that's correct, it was one of control,
remote controlled so he could send him messages.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
No, I just that's going on the ig story.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
There you go. I uh, I just I hate it
when especially Oral Hirscheiser, acts like the Dodgers are above
reprieve when they were doing the exact goddamn thing that's correct,
and he's watching another home run fly into left center
into the bleachers out there. Uh, the rest of the

(01:04:40):
weekend sports really? Uh? You know the hell I walked
into the house earlier tonight, LG was watching Salt Lake
City Summer League. So I haven't watched any summer league,
the summer league.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
He fell asleep with something else on. It's like auto
tuned to ESPN.

Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
It's the season of over reactions now that we're in
summer league.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
I will defend yourself, LG. Did you fall asleep?

Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
What?

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
No, LG's LG is just a solid sports fan. Every time.

Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
You can't you can't get me to believe he was
watching summer league.

Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
LG.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Purpose, LG, how long had you been watching that?

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Like all day?

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Yeah, because it's been on all day? And what were
you watching last week? When I walked in?

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
It was soccer?

Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
It was it was Cubs baseball.

Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
It wasn't even Rangers or Astros. It was Cubs, Diamondbacks
or something like that. LG and whatever is available and
put it on. LG is a proper sports fanatic, and
I I uh, I for one, appreciate his commitment to
our craft.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
His lack of eye contact means he was mean.

Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
I think his lack of eye contact means he's uh
finished that supporo he was before we started. No, I'll
watch some of the Vegas Summer League, but don't have
much time for Salt Lake City. I saw the Spurs
said Dylan Harper is gonna play in the first game
of Vegas and then they'll play it by year, which

(01:06:16):
probably means he's playing one game and then they're shutting
him down, which is what they should do. But yeah,
outside of that, Wimbledon's going on.

Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
Yeah, I mean the top players are performing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
We're like, what was it?

Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Well, Center advanced today because Dimitrov had to retire. He's
up two sets to nothing over the number one player
in the world and had to retire due to injury.
So we should have gotten an upset, but instead Center
advances Center, who has been busted cheating multiple times in
his career with performance enhancing drugs. The Italian, pale, white

(01:06:54):
skinned ginger just as so easy, like Mussolini's rolling over
in his grave. Look, he's like, wait, we have the best,
uh An Italian is the best tennis player in the world. Wait,
what he's white and ginger hold on.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
It's like the Jewish German when the whins the Peace
Prize or something and Hitler's like, yeah, it's a you
got what you wanted.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
But just it's like it's like any wish from a
genie when they uh have the stereotypical Uh, there's always something,
there's something wrong with it. But now it's you know,
obviously the recap golfing that she got upset. She got upset,
like first round, there were I think four of the five,

(01:07:40):
four of the top five all got upset in the
first two round. The number one see that girl, Yeah
she's yeah, I think she's still alive. I Wimbledon is
she scares me. Wimbledon is the one that I, honestly
I pay the least amount I like. I like the
clay the most. I like the hard courts Wimbledon, they're
all in why it just all feels like a royal promenade.

(01:08:05):
Like it doesn't. It feels too hoity toity, Like I
like the Australians when they're yelling yeah yeah, I don't
have a whole lot of time for that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
So I'm going to bail you out in w W two.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
There it is. Now, well, we'll keep an eye. We'll
keep an eye on Wimbledon, but don't expect that's probably
lightning round coverage from now on. Let's uh, let's shift
gears here, get into our main segment because I joked
at the beginning of the episode, I did a really
poor job of selling what we're starting tonight. We are

(01:08:41):
starting every main segment as we get closer to NFL
season starting, We're gonna do division by division previews. And
I did a bad job of selling it because I said,
we're gonna start with the least exciting division, but we
got to do them all, so we got to start somewhere.
We're going to start with the AFC East, where there

(01:09:06):
is I think, out of all of the divisions in football.
If you if you asked me to, you know, gamble
everything I owned, bet everything I own to pick the
winner of one division in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
This would be a buffalo.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
I think this, which also means it's not gonna work
out this. I mean buffalo is what a five year
five year title streak. The only team that has won
their division or consecutively is Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
New England have the title streak. They had like what
ten year title streak until after Brady got something like that,
after he came back from getting hurt, like.

Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
Yeah, after the Castle year.

Speaker 3 (01:09:48):
Yeah, they they had they had a bad Buffalo. They
had a bad New Jersey or New York Jets. I
called it the New Jerseys in Miami. Who was Tannehill days?
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
So, yeah, the So the Bills have won the AFC
East every year since Brady left for Tampa. Yeah, so
like as soon as Brady leaves New England, the Bills
have ascended to you know, total dominance within the division.
Vegas predicts Vegas has the over under wind total at

(01:10:25):
eleven and a half, and that is they are a long.
Those are the highest win total or no, second highest
win total. I think that Vegas has on the board.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
I know my Niners up there because we got one
of the say it's they're getting the game. They're gonna
they're gonna pile up the winds. The only one that
I can see them splitting with besides running the gambit,
is splitting with Miami.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
You know, if you.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Have Miami pretty firmly in that like in that second
position in the division.

Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
Yeah, well I don't have them firmly.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
I just think Miami always plays them hard at home, yeah,
you know, not up in Buffalo where it's cold and tutugl.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
There you go, you know, can't throw the ball for anything.

Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
But like, yeah, no, I think that's the only chance
they had to split. I think they run the gambit
like the Niners did back two years ago, where we
beat everyone in the division twice and that's six games
right there.

Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
Yeah, you mentioned so your Niners are a part of
the second group. Lions and Niners both at ten and
a half win over under, and then the Bills are
eleven and a half along with them, it's Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles.
So Vegas is telling you we view Buffalo as the

(01:11:57):
upper elite crest of the league. We're talking Ravens, Bills, Chiefs. Yeah,
those three all are gonna have to go through each other.
The Bills are zero to four versus Kansas City in
the playoffs with Josh Allen and then the Eagles in
the NFC.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
So you're seeing them in the Niners.

Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Well in that second tier, and your Niners are tied
with a team that went fifteen and two last year
in Detroit, led by a proper Glenn Rosian Dan Campbell.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
Well, we'll get into why I think they're in the
top tier, but anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
Yeah, I think there's I mean, I say we started
with the most boring one. I don't the odds of
Buffalo somehow not winning this division for a six straight
year seem incredibly, incredibly slim. And the question for Bills
fans is.

Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
They start off with a banger. Even if the Bill's
Ravens Sunday Night, Oh that's great. They start off, that's
gonna be. I don't care if it's a zero zero game,
that's going to be. They're going to try to kill
each other.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Yeah, you know, well, and they also you know, specifically
those two teams, they're every time they play each other,
it's a tune up to play Kansas City because they
know you've got one of us has to beat Kansas
City if we're going to get to a super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
You forgot to say the refs Kansas City and the rest.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
That whole narrative, Taylor, that whole narrative is, it's not
a narrative, man, It actually is how they got tuned
up in like, but there's no actual data that shows
they're getting more. They actually get less calls in the
last two minutes of games. Yeah, like, there was a whole.

Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
Pablo Tory road from what I saw last year. I'm
telling you, like humans anecdotal level, it's not about to
do it. A sub number team that barely won by
one scorers constantly no holding calls, no passing inference calls,

(01:14:07):
no defensive passing interference calls. No. Like, I dude, my
eyes did not deceive me. They should not have won
five of those Yes, I think they should not.

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Think people saying your eyes deceived you.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
They shouldn't have won five of those games. And I
hope you stayed away from that one, Dad, because he's
a Chiefs fan.

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
The question, the question for Buffalo is not what they
do in the division. It's what they do when they
play Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
And the refs. It's gonna be the elite team from.

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Your anecdotal evidence there.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
The you know, as far as the business, what any
reason that Buffalo might be better this year compared to
last year? Obviously, you know Josh Allen a year of
more experience. Uh, they signed him on the long term
deal this offseason.

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
So he's got the draft wide receiver to uh.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
They signed the kid from the kid from the Chargers.
Palmer gave him. He's gonna be there. He's gonna basically
be there like a Z guy in that offense. I
think they they extended Shakur. The other receiver they have
what's his name, uh, Kean. What's the receiver they have

(01:15:24):
that is the kid from Florida State, Oh, Coleman that's
looking to you know, still looking to have a breakout,
has all of the natural ability, but still potentially trying
to piece it together. For them, the big thing is defense.
You know, last year they were the one of the

(01:15:45):
only teams that was worse than them at getting off
the field on third down was your Dallas Cowboys. But
they had a.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Defense, You're Dallas Cowboys to be one more time.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Right, intentionally, they had a defense that was turning the
ball over, so they were they couldn't get off the field,
but they were forcing turnovers. So it went a long
way to covering the you know, deficiency. But most of
their draft was addressing the defensive.

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
But they did sign ol Joey Bosa the older boats
to see if you got something left. Yeah, yeah, to
try to edge up that, try to get up on
that edge.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
I think you know the Yeah, well that's an interesting
one because again, getting off the field on third down,
if you can apply consistent pressure with your edge rushers,
that's how you get off the field. That's also potentially
how you force more turnovers, to which they're already good at.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
So guess what the next besides a bunch of divisional
and scrubs, what's the next team they play?

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Five weeks after? They play Ravens? Who?

Speaker 1 (01:16:57):
Buffalo?

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
Who? What? What's their matchup with the rest of the schedule,
Like what divisions are they playing?

Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
They play? They played their division, So they're playing.

Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
Because the the a f C East has a super
easy Uh, they have a super easy matchup this year
and I can't I read it earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
Oh, they're playing what you call.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
A f C North and NFC South. So they get
the NFC South to beat up on Saints. Yeah, Saints, Falcons, Bucks, Jags, Yeah, Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Do you think that's gonna be a hard one?

Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
No, I mean that's not Jags. Jacks are AFC Panthers
other NFC South team, So they have the easy matchup division.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
Wise, funny because it's Panthers and then they get the
tough one, which will be the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
Looks like a week six, Week seven game.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
That'll be a fun That'll be a I can't wait
to hear the talking heads over the react. That's gonna
be at buff Buffalo. Yeah, still early in the season though,
so probably no you know, inclement weather or anything too
crazy now. I again, I think Buffalo, and I.

Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
Think that is advantage for both Mahomes and Allen because
as much as Mahomes is not considered a runner, he
is deadly on third downs.

Speaker 2 (01:18:18):
It kills me.

Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
He doesn't run, I mean, he doesn't run like Lamar.
He runs to extend the window to either get a
first down or extend the window to throw the ball downfield,
which arguably, you know, in a lot of ways is
even more dangerous than having a guy like Lamar that
can just take off and outrun everybody. I know. Vegas

(01:18:42):
has the over underline at eleven and a half. Buffalo
can go nine and eight and win this division.

Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Oh easily.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
I feel pretty comfortable saying.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
How much how much do you what do they have
the line at to where you have to how much
to get like one hundred dollars, how.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Much would you have to put in? Oh, it's it's
your you have to put in like twelve hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Yeah, you're losing money to even take the risk the
again because that's easy money. They Yeah, I think Buffalo
is that team in the AFC that if it's not,
if they could ever just get passed or through Kansas City. Yeah,

(01:19:23):
I feel pretty comfortable saying they're better. I think Buffalo
is better than the best team in the NFC, and
I think they have been the last couple of years,
even though Philly won last year. I know, I.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
Even I know, I know.

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
So the only other tough teams I see after the
Chiefs is they got that they got to go to
They got to come here on the Texans and play CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
Stroud. Hopefully everybody's healed up and that will be uh,
not quite.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
I don't think Thanksgivings on the twentieth, but it will
be a Thursday night game.

Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
It might that might be.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Well, if it's a Thursday night game, twentieth probably is less.
Thanksgiving is the twenty seventh. The next Thursday.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Thanksgiving was real late last year help us out there
out there in the comments, and then they got I
don't see the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
That's that next week. Yeah, Thanksgivings the twenty seventh.

Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
Okay, So then the Bengals they play after Thanksgiving and
that's going to be at their stadium, and then they
play the Eagles the second to last game at their stadium.
So all these tough games except for I did not
even the Ravens, all all at home. All these tough
games except for Houston, which is a semi tough game,

(01:20:43):
you know, because they're just unproven. The Bills are a
lock for like fourteen wins. Whoa, I'm just putting it
out there, man, I mean, you don't you don't think
they can split those four teams they have to play
the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
The four teen is such a texting number, like I
don't disagree with all of the logic you laid out
and Egals and okay, I'll say this too. Now that
they're seventeen games, I'm still adjusting when I hear someone say, oh,
that's a fourteen win team eighteen Yeah, right, and so

(01:21:19):
trying to like, okay, actually, so fourteen and three, which
is basically what used to would have been a thirteen
and three. So you're saying they're gonna lose three games.

Speaker 2 (01:21:29):
Yeah, they split those tough games.

Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
No, and and only one of them is not and
only one of them is going to be away.

Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
Yeah, not much to argue, I think again, Buffalo, it's
it's gonna be just about staying healthy going into the playoffs.
The technically Vegas has the Dolphins and the Patriots both
at eight and a half wins over under. So I went.
I deferred went Miami ahead of New England just because

(01:22:02):
Miami has been closer. They've been a team that's won
nine games more recently than New England.

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
So if TUA doesn't throw up those crip.

Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
Signs, man, they can win some games.

Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
Yeah, the CT is nothing to joke about, gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
Well as you just joked about it, gentlemen, what what
what do what? Yeah? The I think Miami is a
team that potentially has the most questions from top to
bottom of any team in the league. Like, is Mike
McDaniel on the hot seat?

Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
Yeah? Why is this player?

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Like you hadhe Raheem Moster come out and bashed Miami organization.
You had another player, the running back before him.

Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Come out and bash the organization.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Something is rotten in there, and Mike McDaniel is not
fixing it per se. I mean, he's fixing it with talent,
and of course he's got that swag, but like he
might have to go to offensive uh, you know, an
offensive coordinator position for a while again, get that respect
where he can sit there and keep these guys in

(01:23:12):
line and stuff where it's like, hey, focus up, because
not winning in the cold is ridiculous. You know, that's
not an excuse for football, even though you're in Miami.

Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
Yeah, you can't just chalk it up to the fact
that you're a warm weather in the city.

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
And when you when you got you know, David Acne
Acne and then you got uh, you got Tyreek Hill Waddle.
Now you got Westbrook I heen he's coming on there.
And now you've got Darren Waller coming out of retirement
because he just refused to play for the Giants.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Yeah, but they also they lost their tight end too,
like Waller. If Waller is what he was before, it
is probably an upgrade. But really like Waller is an
unknown at this point, I would say.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
But you know, Smith was such an undersized tight end.

Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
Yeah, Like for sure, they had the Wattle and Tyreek
Killer undersize, so they needed hype and I think that
was the main thing with them on third down. They
didn't have anybody to throw it up too, you know
what I'm saying. And they cured that with the Westbrook.

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
Uh. He he's like I think he's like six to four.

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
Yeah, but I don't think he's going to be a
guy that is you know, he's more he's a third
down Yeah, he's more of a six hundred to eight
hundred yards and you'll love what you got from him.
He was like like a situational guy to say, for y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
For Cowboys, he was I mean, y'all didn't really have one,
but he was y'all's what Galloway who was.

Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
The one that no longer with him, Michael Gallup Gallop.

Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
He was y'all's Gallup where he would get the third
down looks. They might do a one or two plays
for him, but he was always going to be the
second or third option. But he was only going to
be the first option. When they knew Tyree are C
he was gonna get covered, doubled, and Dustin Schultz was
gonna get covered uh, double covered and stuff like that.
So Gallup was there, you know, and he had the

(01:25:08):
hype you know to you know, do a comeback route
and beat the corner by jumping up over him.

Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
Do you like the do you like the the trade
off of, you know, basically replacing Jalen Ramsey with Minka Fitzpatrick.

Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
I mean that could have been the stank in the
locker room man Jalen makes with all the antics I've
seen Jalen do, and then he doesn't stay. I mean,
I know l A rented him for a year, you know,
just to get that Super Bowl, but you know, he.

Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
I don't know, man, I.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
Think it's a downgrade and talent, but it could be.

Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
Culture backing up the Brinks truck and it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
Was hilarious, but nonetheless, like as a football like a
fan and like a team, I'm like, yeah, you can
cut that crap out.

Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
You know, also lost their left tackle Tyron Armstrong and
and Kalayas Campbell as well, but you know Campbell's I mean,
Campbell's great, but that's more veteran voice.

Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
I got the quickest pass rating in all of them.

Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
You know, they need just running, like to against that
ball out under two seconds every time.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Do you know, off the top of your head, just
guess the last year the Dolphins won a playoff game,
won a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
Tannahill, Nope, Ricky Henderson, Ricky Williams.

Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
I believe it was Ricky Cadillac Williams from Auburn. It was,
uh two thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
It was the year two Williams for him.

Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Dave Wanstat, former Cowboys assistant, was the head coach. You're
pro Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas.

Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
I didn't wear Pro bowlers on that team. It was
J Fielder was quarterback Fielder? Uh Fielder? J Fielder, Yeah, yeah,
exactly that.

Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
Was But who was the running back?

Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
Uh that would have been It wasn't even It wasn't
even Ricky yet.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
It was uh smoking dope already.

Speaker 1 (01:27:27):
Well yeah, I don't think that was necessarily Uh No,
it was uhot, it was nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
It was nobody.

Speaker 1 (01:27:37):
Your quarterback room was Jay Fielder, Damon Heward, and Mike Quinn.
Your running backs were Outrick Denson who really was a
kick returner. Uh, Deon Dyer was a full back, and
then JJ Johnson and Lamar Smith like that team defense.
That's the last yeah, with with Jason Taylor.

Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
And then probably the weakest division. I was text texts
Zach's playing in New England. Buffalo was a shell, like
Buffalo was getting over the fact that it was also
rebuilding the year after.

Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
Marino had retired. The last year the Dolphins won a
playoff game was the first year they didn't have Dan Marino.
That just feels like it was so long ago.

Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
When you put like that a trivia question right there.

Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
Yeah, well I was. I was blown away. I didn't
think it was true when I when I read it
in an article earlier, they thought.

Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
I know, they've been one and out like ever since Tua,
Like even though they're like we're all rated high and
they got Tyreek and they like just put up crazy fans.
We loved, we loved Miami and Fantasy, but the Great Fantasy.
I just knew in playoffs, playoffs, there is no Bueno.

Speaker 1 (01:28:49):
Would you say, uh, would you say Miami is closer
to Buffalo or New England Vegas? Thanks, They're way closer
to New England, obviously, way.

Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Closer New England.

Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
See, I think buff I think just because Buffalo is
on a different level man, Like I think.

Speaker 1 (01:29:08):
It says more about Buffalo than it does New England. Yeah,
and you're yeah, I agree with that.

Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
Because New England they just what a record amount for
New England to spend spend money on off season, and
they did it on.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
The line really busy offseason and on the defensive lines.
And they got thirty one year old Stefan Diggs who's
handing out pink rock candy like he just went to
like he just went to Cracker Barrel and got some
rock candy.

Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
With those quality win church going women.

Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
That's correct, good godfearing women. I think they were actually
on spring break from Liberty University and and BYU as well.
They were proper, proper religious women.

Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
No, I wish we had someone like in can you
tell if those girls got had expelled their their lawrens.

Speaker 1 (01:29:58):
No, I've had I've had quite a bit of fun
with the like people about every couple of years. There's
a massive awareness of people real understanding that by u's
honor code includes premarital sex, Like, yeah, you get kicked
out of the university if you have sex before Mary. Okay,

(01:30:20):
all right, So I mentioned the pats because yeah, that
Vegas has them same over under as Miami, which to me,
that was shocking when I like, I think New England's
going to be vastly improved year one with Rabel as
the head coach. Year two of Drake May at quarterback.

(01:30:41):
Last year, New England lost six one score games. Yeah,
so they were right there with a bad roster.

Speaker 3 (01:30:50):
And they and they spent a crap ton of money
on the defensive an offensive line, and Vegas knows, like, like,
it's not the showy, but that's how you start winning immediately.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
And to further that, Vegas has them projected as the
highest increase in win total from last year.

Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
Yeah, because they finished last last year.

Speaker 1 (01:31:16):
Yeah, Vegas loves.

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
They were four and thirteen, so double.

Speaker 1 (01:31:21):
It four or five win increase. But yeah, the the
Digs deal, we'll see what he still has left. I'm
not entirely sold that he's going to be, you know,
the playmaker that they're anticipating. But you know, big addition.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
This the Raiders who gon't watch that one.

Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
I don't know, man, I want to see Rabel. I'm
curious to see Rabel back in his old like it's
such a Rabel just feels like such he should be
the Patriots head coach. Yeah, like who was last year
they did him so dirty? Who was it? No, no, no,
not Tennessee, the who knew England had last year as

(01:32:06):
head coach that only got one year and then they
fired him. The uh oh, I know you're talking about,
I know, the defensive minded anyway. The there's something about seeing.

Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
Didn't make the cut.

Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
There's something about seeing uh you know, Vrabel on the
sidelines that I think will uh it just fits. It
just feels like a very New England higher. It feels
like a guy Jared Mayo, their former yeah backer, Yeah,
who only got one year and only won four games.

Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
No, uh, you know it would be crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
You know, the last game of the year for both
the Dolphins and.

Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
Uh New England against each other, against each other.

Speaker 1 (01:32:50):
That's a play that potentially, if you just look at
what Vegas is predicting.

Speaker 2 (01:32:54):
That could unders and that could be like the decision.

Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
Yeah, that's decide a wild cards potentially, which again.

Speaker 2 (01:33:03):
I mean they got they got.

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
I mean they won four games last year and they
lost six one score games.

Speaker 2 (01:33:12):
So let's go down at Raiders. I got that as
a win. Dolphins at Miami, I think it was a loss.

Speaker 1 (01:33:20):
Steelers, Wait are you going game by game of the
Patriots schedule, right.

Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
Not not, I'm not gonna do this for every one, man.

Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
But why the okay, sorry sorry sorry.

Speaker 5 (01:33:30):
Because you said it was very like, bab I'm with you,
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
Who who who? What's the buzzing Week four matchup they
have on the schedule. I'm so curious. Oh now that's
a SLocker knocker, right there. No one circles the wagons
like the Cackillaca Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
Man, how long you been holding that one?

Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
That's everyone, That's what, that's what. That's true. Carolinians, uh
refer to it.

Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
As yeah, but like literally like all these are up
in the air except for bills of course.

Speaker 1 (01:34:07):
Yeah, they dropped to the ovens. They dropped you to
the bills, but they I don't think Buccaneers for whatever.
I think Miami has a better chance of sweeping the
Jets than the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
The Jets Patriots games are always weird. Yeah, they're always
like I think they're yeah, and I think and they're
they're kind of the same people that are just pissed
off about everything. And it's gonna be a thirteen to ten,
thirteen to seventeen games.

Speaker 2 (01:34:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
I mean you went from a fan base that never
wins anything. That got Aaron Rodgers, but that was that
was the shit.

Speaker 1 (01:34:42):
They never win anything, so they're pissed off and the
Patriots win everything, so when they don't, they're pistol. It's
like one loss and the world is crumbling.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
I think Boston is just always pissy a thousand percent.

Speaker 1 (01:34:53):
I that wouldn't surprise me if if that, if that
Patriots Dolphins game in Week eighteen is to decide a
playoff spot, the I would still though, I would still
say Patriots under eight and a half. I don't think.
I don't think the Patriots win nine games. I don't

(01:35:14):
think they go nine and eight. No, that's a huge,
huge increase versus last year.

Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
I mean, if they get some upsets and they get momentum,
I'm telling you the Trenches being everything.

Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
Yeah, and you mentioned give Drake.

Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
Made some time.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
They sign and Morgan Moses tackle committed to him on
a big deal in the offseason, they really increased you know,
the Milton Williams what one hundred and one hundred and
something million dollars deal, like, yeah, half of it guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
That would be more money than they ever have this offseason.

Speaker 1 (01:35:46):
Between Okay, here's the numbers. Landry Harold Landry at forty
three and a half million, twenty six million guaranteed, and
then Milton Williams one hundred and four million, fifty one
million guaranteed, so just one edge and one into your
defensive lineman. And they guaranteed seventy seven million dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
So and you got the head coach that was one
of he was a great linebacker himself.

Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
Oh damn, I forgot. They signed Carlton Davis too to
that three year sixty million dollars. They spent so much fing.

Speaker 2 (01:36:21):
Money, so much money.

Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
Good god, that's why they have him. I forgot. Some
of these numbers were crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
It's like, it's like because we know we've gone years
and years even with Tom Brady on the team of
them not so them signing Randy Moss on the ass
end of his career was amazing for us.

Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
And then setting the touchdown record, well.

Speaker 3 (01:36:42):
Because they took because the one year I had Lawrence
Maroney as a fantasy.

Speaker 1 (01:36:47):
Oh here we go, here we go. Hear this fantasy, bad.

Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
Feat You take Lawrence Maroney in the first round because
you know the Patriots gonna have a highest scoring offense
and gonna get a bunch of first first and ones
with Randy Moscow and over the top and getting past
and inference, solid game planning. Lawrence m already a banger
between the tackles. You know you're getting those first and ones.
And what does Brady do every single time play action?

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Moss? I swear to god it happened eighteen times.

Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
You know everyone remembers the Moss late career revival. Yeah,
but before they did it with Randy, do you remember
they like Corey Dillon had a career year.

Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
I was a year before that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
They were like and then all of a sudden it
was pass with Moss and it was just like, oh
my god. So that's why they Yeah, that's why everybody's
still a little bitter. Ten years, fifteen years down the line.

Speaker 1 (01:37:44):
Yeah, I think Patriots are on the right path. But
I'm thinking I'm thinking we're a year too early on
the on the nine win predictions. Lastly, you know, what,
what what do you want to say about the Jets?
Here here's for for for my for my buddy Wally,

(01:38:05):
my buddy Brandon, the great Walter Pass creed a huge
Jets born and raised fan. Uh, at least you have
a twenty six year old Justin Fields who were not
entirely sure is a bust maybe potentially possibly.

Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
Well, look, but you have Travis Hunting.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
That's fun. No, actually, because that's in Jacksonville. Yeah, no,
it's a the Jets are. You have a new head coach,
Aaron Glenn, So maybe a new vision at the top
provides some structure and leadership that's been lacking. I look,
the Jets. The Jets are perpetually in my lifetime, I

(01:38:48):
think going to continue being the Jets.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
They have such a good receiver and a good running
back with Brice Hall and Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
Yeah, but Breese might not even be He might not
even be on the team by the end of training camp.
I mean he's been floated in multiple potential trades, I think,
and they're not gonna give him the three down back responsibilities.
That doesn't sound like either. Yeah, I think they're.

Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
Alan Bazard is still on there. I mean, I guess
he didn't Pittsburgh. Aaron Rodgers couldn't pull them pull them
away quick enough. But yeah, like there's there's really you know,
you got sauce Gardener.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
You know, he's gonna be there.

Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
They have some individual fun players, I mean, but it's
just the defense is gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (01:39:37):
And that's why the Jets in the the Patriots games
are going to be dog fights because they are both
gonna have Grade d's, but nice, solid, girthy defenses.

Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Garrett Wilson Still they didn't trade him.

Speaker 3 (01:39:55):
Right, he's still he's still on a rookie contract. Man,
this is gonna be his thirty year.

Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
Well, then they're probably about to trade him before they pay, and.

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
That would be you know, are they gonna tank for Arch?
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
I mean for Arch. Art is not gonna come out.
Any think he's gonna come out next year?

Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
Yes, potentially, but I don't. I don't. I think if
Arch came out, there's there's absolutely no guarantee as we
sit here tonight that Arch is the first quarterback taken
in in next year's draft. I mean, let's let's actually
watch a season of Arch starting as quarterback in college football.

(01:40:35):
Before we just instantly rushed to say we're tanking for Art.
People were talking about tanking for Shador this time last year.

Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
I mean, watch out for Man.

Speaker 1 (01:40:46):
Okay, we'll get to we're gonna do AFC North on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (01:40:50):
So in the Browns who developed their quarb's Deshaun Watson's
got them underneath his wing.

Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
Yeah, no, the Browns are the Browns are known.

Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
For having showing them were all the nice Rubin tug places.

Speaker 1 (01:41:02):
The great quarterback development. You know, I think, uh, I
think back to Brandon Whedon and uh, well, now.

Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
You stay off my redhead. You know that was my
oas you redhead?

Speaker 1 (01:41:12):
You know that was my Dallas Cowboys redhead too. So
I do love me some Brandon Wheed. Now the Jets,
the Jets are terrible, man. The Vegas has them at
five and a half. And do you feel confident or
comfortable saying Justin Fields is going to lead the Jets
to six wins this year?

Speaker 3 (01:41:31):
Do I feel comfortable that Justin Fields will lose his
job by the fifth week?

Speaker 1 (01:41:35):
Yes, there's no one they have, Tyrod Taylor. I don't
think that's their back. I don't think, oh yeah, because uh,
because Zach Wilson signed with the Dolphins. I think right himself,
code breaker. I don't know, I'm not as I'm not
as down on Justin Fields's yard like I don't think

(01:41:58):
I think it's funny They're back up is Tyrod Taylor.
I think that's who Justin Fields becomes the rest of
his career is. I think he's he's on that step
below a starting of what we've seen so far, he's
on that step below a starting level quarterback. That's why
Pittsburgh immediately went back to Russ Wilson last year instead

(01:42:20):
of keeping him in the position, even though they were
winning games with him.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
He can't throw over the middle man, he can't do
he can't do a checkdown route, can't throw the mill.
He's got a cannon for an arm. But he takes off.
He gets all squarely in the pocket the first sign
of pressure, and they play contained defense on him. So
you know he's going to a get hurt or be
throwing an iron t because he can't throw over the
middle or ce just go out on downs.

Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
And you know I would I would be really interested
if they if they use him more like uh like
Lamar Jackson, if he is if there are more run
option directly play call of.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Course that's all you have to do with yeah, So like.

Speaker 1 (01:43:03):
That load up, be a be a pound with your
quarterback and running back.

Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
The whole thing of the PTO, you know, like, uh,
play action offense is you have to be able to
check it down to your tight end.

Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
You have to be able to make those soft passes.

Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
You can't load it up because there's not enough time
because your guys are playing a run. Your your your
you're you're blocking. The line is blocking a run. Defense
are doing run play. The offensive line is doing a
run play. So that's a different style of blocking. They're
not looking for con you know, to create a pocket

(01:43:42):
for you. So he those little touch passes is where
he is the worst.

Speaker 1 (01:43:48):
Yeah, that's touch pass and justin fields.

Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
Like, hey, Trey Lance, I saw you couldn't do a
touch pass.

Speaker 2 (01:43:55):
I'm like, he's gonna, He's not gonna. He's not our quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:43:58):
Yeah, that was that was pretty That was pretty clear
that that wasn't going to be a part of his game.
I the Jets are obviously a team in transition. I mean,
the the fact that brest Hall has been on the
trade block all summer potentially that tells me there's still
I mean, there were rumors back at the during the
draft that.

Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
The rumors about everything, but I have not seen it
officially from schefty.

Speaker 1 (01:44:22):
I was Shifty's a mouthpiece of whatever agent is telling
him to promote this or that, Like that's shifty, is
not the all in tuned insider that he portrays himself as.
If you want to say he's got a pretty mouth,
I'll let you.

Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
That's a pretty mouthpiece there.

Speaker 1 (01:44:41):
Bill's clearly division winner. Yeah, you think you think they
eclipse the eleven and a half, I agree with you,
hands down. Dolphins second in this division.

Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
Second.

Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
I think they win nine games.

Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
I think that I think they'll get I think they'll
creep in or just almost miss.

Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
The playoffs like they always.

Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
I think so too. I think Dolphins are nine and eight.
I think they finished right over their number. Uh. Patriots
technically have the third easiest schedule, but I don't think.
I don't think they have enough to get to nine
wins like Miami. I think they're right on the underside of.

Speaker 2 (01:45:18):
That Vegas spot on with this. That's a toss up.
I think I think there's spot on like it. I
don't like. I don't like agreeing with the old Vegas,
the old gamble.

Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
They know how to make money off of us, like
they're really good at that. Yeah, I got give me
Dolphins nine wins, Patriots eight wins. There's your two and
three both they're on.

Speaker 3 (01:45:40):
That could switch a half atame, so those are interchangeable
for me.

Speaker 1 (01:45:45):
And then Jets five and a half. Dude, I think
you're saying under on five and a half. Yeah, I
think Jets are clearly. I think they get to the
fact that, you know, justin Field's two year deal, there's
no commitment there. He's just a stop gap filler.

Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
Give me, give me a prop bet week five Jets are.

Speaker 1 (01:46:03):
Jets are hoping to be top two, to take a
quarterback next next April for sure. So hey, look we
made it through the worst division preview. Every after this,
well look at how fun that was. Now every preview
after that will be UH.

Speaker 3 (01:46:22):
There will be a lot more arguing with the with
the other divisions, trust me, you will be entertained.

Speaker 2 (01:46:29):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:46:29):
There's no there's no dog in the fight with any
of these teams, like I have no connection.

Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:46:35):
As much as we agreed on this division will probably
be the only one we agree on.

Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Which I think is uh. I think is why it's
the perfect one to start with. UH. And again Wednesday
night will do AFC North so Ok start to get
a little more interesting with that. What are we talking? Cleveland, Baltimore, Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:46:55):
Interesting, that's one of the funnest divisions.

Speaker 1 (01:46:57):
Yeah, hold on, I always leave who's the one I.

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Leave it out?

Speaker 3 (01:47:02):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:47:03):
Yeah, hold on Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (01:47:06):
Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:47:09):
Yes, why are you doing this? Like?

Speaker 3 (01:47:12):
I'm right at the end of the show. It's another banger,
man is their games.

Speaker 1 (01:47:17):
Are d b oh man, I'm not even looking at up.

Speaker 2 (01:47:22):
Oh, I'm pulling it up.

Speaker 1 (01:47:23):
We're not signing on. We're not signing off until I can.

Speaker 3 (01:47:27):
Be Bengles, Okay, Begles, Sweet Joey Burrow koking himself, Baggy
Jinko wearing I think we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:47:36):
Have some disagreements come Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
Oh yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:47:40):
Well, then let's get to the lightning round before we
get out of here. Did y'all either of y'all see
the actual details on Luke Cornette's deal with the Spurs.
We got some more info on it today.

Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:47:53):
So remember last week we were talking about the four year,
forty one Yeah, four year, forty one million dollar deal
he signed to come to San Antonio be the backup
big man. Well, it turns out the deal is really
more like a two year, twenty four million dollar deal

(01:48:15):
because the amount of guarantees that he has in the
deal don't cover all four years. So year one fully
guaranteed eleven million, Year two fully guaranteed ten and a
half million, ten point four to five. Yeah, and then
year three. First of all, the contract descends every year,

(01:48:35):
which is great business. Yeah, Year three it's a nine
point nine million dollar number, but only two and a
half of that is guaranteed. So if they were to
cut him, like if he just ate, we only eat
two and a half, two and a half is all
that would stay on your salary cap number. And then
he said the final year no guarantee.

Speaker 2 (01:48:56):
Yeah, so if he plays.

Speaker 1 (01:48:57):
Three years at roughly thirty million three for thirty they
cut him before the last year, it's not guaranteed or.

Speaker 2 (01:49:07):
That's not bad.

Speaker 1 (01:49:08):
No, it's great, but it makes me feel I said
last week, I love the signing, but there's no question
it was a slight overpay. Now seeing these numbers, I
retract every word of that. Seeing more detail, that is
great business. Because also that last year being non guaranteed
in three years, when we're again sitting here in the

(01:49:30):
summer debating what big move the spurs maship correct, sure, right,
when you've got your forty five wins.

Speaker 3 (01:49:37):
Right almost next year, Oh that's right, championships a year
after that's right.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
So come three years from now, when he's on that
final year, that deal, it makes him so much Like
that's ten million dollars you can add to a trade package,
so like this year, say.

Speaker 2 (01:49:56):
And we can also pick up someone if like next year.

Speaker 1 (01:50:00):
The for sure. It just having that last year non
guaranteed it makes that number so much more in the
final year.

Speaker 2 (01:50:08):
To last two years are basically non gaged.

Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
The last two years are nineteen million dollars and only
two and a half of that is guaranteed. That is
great business props. H props Brian, Right again.

Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Man and Brian, we trust hit me LG.

Speaker 3 (01:50:26):
So, speaking of old b Yu the b y u
qb Jake Ratslav, Reslav is facing suspension after amitiging premarital
sex and is looking to transfer from BYU.

Speaker 1 (01:50:39):
Okay, so he was at first he was facing some
a little darker yeah, allegations. It wasn't official charges. I
think it was based on a complaint and then she
drops the complaint. But then BYU is like, hey, look man,

(01:51:00):
a consensual not still you still got it wet like?
This is always.

Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
This is because poor poor adults at b yuse kids.

Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
They have determined they can get it wet, but they
just can't be actively going at it. So that's how
we got the phrase soaking. Are you familiar with the
concept of soaking? That's correct. And then, but even better,
this is literally I'm not making this. This isn't This
isn't me.

Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
You have to thrust in there.

Speaker 1 (01:51:32):
This isn't like, This isn't like. This isn't like I'm
a Republican politician talking about litter boxes and classrooms. This
one that is actually true, Trust me.

Speaker 2 (01:51:45):
I know the sheet.

Speaker 1 (01:51:49):
The way it works is the dude has his buddies
line him up so it's not him doing it, and
then as he's soaking, let's keep it, keep it. As
he's soaking, they bounced the bed. And that doesn't that

(01:52:10):
doesn't that's not premarital sex. That's premarital soaking. Completely different thing,
completely different.

Speaker 2 (01:52:16):
And Joseph Smith's more in line with that than I think.

Speaker 1 (01:52:20):
That's in the Golden tablets that he found in his
backyard and the Secret Underwear, the Sacred Underwear look Every
religion's got some weird Every religion's got some weird stuff going.

Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
The couple got some really weird.

Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
No one compares to the greatness of scientology when it
comes to levels of levels of absurd hit me.

Speaker 2 (01:52:45):
LG.

Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
I mentioned the Club World Cup. The terrible injury to Mustiala,
the Byron player fractured his aphibula, kept them falling short
of making it to the semi finals. One side of
the bracket is basically Chelsea and a bunch of Brazilian

(01:53:13):
and Saudi Arabian teams, and then the other side is
like Byron, PSG, Real, Madrid Dortmund, like.

Speaker 2 (01:53:22):
It's the wonder who got paid that draw?

Speaker 1 (01:53:25):
No, So the way the reason is because there were
a couple upsets in the group stage, so teams that
should have won their group finished second. It's all how
you finish in your group. And then add on top
of that, when when Man City played Al Halal in

(01:53:46):
that great knockout game, the Saudi Arabian club beat them.

Speaker 2 (01:53:50):
So it should be thunder LG that you had it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:54):
It should be Chelsea versus Man City, but instead it's
going to be Chelsea versus is Fluminenci. The Brazilian Club
and then the other side of the bracket is PSG Real.
So if Chelsea, I think Chelsea's Tomorrow night, and then
Paris and Madriders actually their afternoon games they're two o'clock

(01:54:16):
kickoffs and Tomorrow and Wednesday, Tomorrow Wednesday. So hopefully we
get a Chelsea versus wake Up either wake up to
That's what I love about you.

Speaker 2 (01:54:27):
I will, I will, I wake up at nine to
get my dog a pill like you at Hit Me LG.

Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
The sweet Less Grossman is having his own movie and
if you don't know Les Grossman, he's from Tropic Thunder
and we've all watched it in all of them. Speaking
of Scientologists, that's the head Scientologists himself, mister action star.
He is creating his own movie about the movie producer

(01:55:01):
Les gross It's.

Speaker 1 (01:55:02):
Ben Stiller involved in it. Anyway, I think I would
love to see. I would actually watch a Benson you know,
wrote and directed a movie about that character, you.

Speaker 3 (01:55:11):
Know, like it was like he wrote a part for him.
He wanted Tom Cruise to be Matthew McConaughey.

Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
The agent, and it was it was a.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
Tom Cruise who told him, well, what about a movie producer.

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
You don't have a movie producer in there. And he's
like no, he's.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
Like the head of a studio and he's like no,
He's like, those are the like you got to have
ahead of the studio. I'll play the guy ahead of
the studio.

Speaker 1 (01:55:39):
Oh, he hadn't written that character.

Speaker 3 (01:55:42):
Tom is the original creator of Les Grosman, and now
we get a movie of Les Grossman, which I love
when Tom riffs on himself because we all can riff
on him with scientology and the old Katie Holmes.

Speaker 2 (01:55:56):
Thing and you know, oh god, Jamie Fox digging her
down right afterwards.

Speaker 1 (01:56:03):
There's a better way to phrase that. But yes, I
believe that is true. That did happen.

Speaker 2 (01:56:07):
But I'm I mean, I'm stoked for that one.

Speaker 1 (01:56:10):
No, I missed that. I Yeah, you've piqued my interest
to say the least.

Speaker 3 (01:56:14):
Watch Tropic Thunder again because we came up hard.

Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
We've taken that. I can't. I'm not gonna do it,
Dana McBride.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
There's so many. Even the guy that plays Alan Partridge,
the director that gets blown up. Yeah, I can't think
of his real name.

Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
He's like.

Speaker 1 (01:56:36):
Alan Partridge is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
Yeah, I've seen a lot of his shows, but like, yeah,
hopefully we get a return of some of those classic characters.

Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
Less gross.

Speaker 1 (01:56:47):
Steve Coogan. That's that guy's name, Steve Coogan. Yeah, hit me,
lgive you're coming with me a couple of Oh, there's
a new RoboCop game video game coming out and expansion
on the one. Dude, it's pretty fun, pretty good, it's
pretty Oh speaking of video games, Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:57:10):
You want to he beat me in Mario Carr before
he got here, the guy who plays video.

Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
Games more than all of us. But it was beat
me in a video.

Speaker 1 (01:57:18):
It was surely it was just one race, right.

Speaker 2 (01:57:21):
I beat you in one? You beat me in two?

Speaker 1 (01:57:24):
Okay, no, I beat you in you three?

Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
Know you? You you took you took, you.

Speaker 1 (01:57:28):
Beat my room, You beat my wife.

Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
He took the control away from your wife.

Speaker 1 (01:57:33):
There's gotta be a better way to phrase that.

Speaker 2 (01:57:35):
You took your joystick away from your wife. Dude.

Speaker 1 (01:57:38):
All right, yeah, look it's I'm a I'm a like,
I am a works based society here. Like if you don't,
if you can't live up to the hype, you got
to give up the sticks. And as soon as I saw.

Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
You got third place, man, Yeah, but you got first.
Yeah yeah, I also got first on you.

Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
Of once versus the three times I got.

Speaker 3 (01:58:03):
You two were two and one. Anyway, you are having
a hard trouble. First off, I don't play video games.
Here comes the down.

Speaker 1 (01:58:13):
So no, so I must have spent hours playing that
game before. Oh wait no, it was the first time
I played it. Ever, it was the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
When's the last time you played Mario Kart LG?

Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
When's the last time we played the old one on
your switch? Probably two years ago when I used to
do a show out of this house.

Speaker 2 (01:58:29):
About seventeen years since me.

Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
You played last Week against one time? One time?

Speaker 2 (01:58:35):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:58:36):
Anyway, Video Game News NCAA twenty six is coming out
this week, and uh, after what they did last year
with it, there's there's some improvements that could be made
and it seems like, uh seems like we might have
another good college football game.

Speaker 3 (01:58:52):
It seemed like the college football has been out doing
Madden for the past couple of years except for last year.

Speaker 1 (01:58:57):
It seems well, last year was the first year the
college football game has been back the old The other
ones were nerds like me that would download like, yeah,
it was just back last year. But that's why it
was so right last year versus Madden.

Speaker 3 (01:59:13):
Because it was everybody I knew first time back like football,
like played the football games were like college football is
ten times better, And I'm like, how is it they
both coming from EA?

Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
Yeah, but it's now. It's as far as like playing.
If you and I were to play one on one,
I would every single time say let's play n CUAA
and not Madden. Madden's slow.

Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
Yeah, it's just it's so I saw playing Madden O
five when tarall Owens was on the Eagles and.

Speaker 2 (01:59:41):
They had the hit stick I do.

Speaker 1 (01:59:44):
I missed the hymn quickly. Before we close out other
college football news, you just see Tech signed another five star,
this time an offensive lineman. They guaranteed him five point
one million dollars for his first three years on campus.

Speaker 3 (02:00:05):
And loving is Taylor Sheldon out there just like giving
up money.

Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
So it seems like this is oil money.

Speaker 1 (02:00:12):
It is it is and there it's actually it's a
kid that stuff grew up around, you know, went to Tech.
He's a diehard tech guy, started his own oil and
natural gas company and then brought out broke down and
cashed out and had dude, he's got So he sold

(02:00:33):
his company for like four and a half billion dollars
and then immediately turned around and his next investment made
him a couple of more. So his net worth is
up close to like eight billion.

Speaker 2 (02:00:47):
Now another billion.

Speaker 1 (02:00:50):
All he cares about at this point in life is
Texas Tech Athletics, so that he's just funding it is.

Speaker 2 (02:00:57):
I know, man, there's so many of my friends.

Speaker 1 (02:00:59):
There are texts Jeff Jeff Traylor is just waiting for
one UTSA grad to strike it rich like that, because
it really can. I mean, Tech had never signed a
five star prospect until two years ago, and now they've
signed half a dozen or four or five now total
in the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (02:01:17):
So like, good job for me, I got one more.
Hit me LG.

Speaker 1 (02:01:22):
You want to keep it real.

Speaker 2 (02:01:23):
You keep it real with me keeping it real. Let's
keep it all the way real.

Speaker 3 (02:01:29):
That BI says there's no Epstein list, there's nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
Hold on, I thought the client list was on our
Attorney general desk.

Speaker 3 (02:01:39):
On February February. No Epstein lists, and now they're gonna again.

Speaker 1 (02:01:45):
Wait well then, hold on, why is Jiselene Maxwell in prison.
If there's no client list, then she surely had no
involvement setting there a client.

Speaker 3 (02:01:54):
There is no blackmail, there is no But what they have.
What they have is a bunch of video tapes. Its good, okay,
so we have all that stuff is redacted, and that's
what we want to find out. But wait, wait, wait
all that redactated stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:02:10):
What about the video of the prison cell where he
allegedly alive himself?

Speaker 3 (02:02:16):
He the FBI director has seen suicides and and he
says it wasn't a suicide for sure.

Speaker 1 (02:02:23):
Wait is that the podcasting deputy of the FBI or
is that the UFC?

Speaker 3 (02:02:30):
We all be on the same page and say, show
us the evidence. I think we all can we all
be on the same side on this.

Speaker 1 (02:02:37):
Look what do I have? What do I have written?
When it comes to Epstein by party, bipartisan outrage, This
all on the same page here.

Speaker 2 (02:02:46):
Just show it to us.

Speaker 3 (02:02:47):
If your man's in it, fine, If my man's I
don't really have a man. But if he's in it,
good get rid of him. I don't care you diddle kids.
See the should all be on the same page.

Speaker 1 (02:03:02):
No, kid, there's no question there, there's no question. There
are influencers and powerful people from all sides of the
political spectrum involved in that. I did find it funny.
The so they released the video of the jail cell
where he unlived himself off himself. Well, that's for YouTube purposes.

(02:03:26):
If we say deadline immediately, Oh, nope, this is getting marked.

Speaker 2 (02:03:30):
That's I didn't say.

Speaker 1 (02:03:32):
No, I stick with her. No, I think I think
deadline's fine. I'm just giving the ship. The video they
released immediately, people realize there's eight minutes missing from the feed.
But then to make it even worse, the video they
released this week and told us out, Nope, here's the
video evidence he wasn't murdered, he did it himself. It

(02:03:56):
doesn't match the picture that they released in February of
the prison of the cell with the different yellow police
tape on it, so it's not even the same cell.

Speaker 2 (02:04:09):
All of it is something wrong.

Speaker 1 (02:04:13):
Giveaway, giveaway.

Speaker 2 (02:04:16):
I was like, there's there's ten bars on that one.
There's thirteen bars on that one. Yeah. I fear.

Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
I fear there is enough to be lost by a
few elites that we Unfortunately, it's probably not gonna get much.
I did see Anonymous started attacking on speaking of people
attacking scientology. Anonymous. Uh, they started to release some emails
that hadn't been made public before. So Anonymous hold out

(02:04:45):
and guy Fox, we trust.

Speaker 3 (02:04:46):
And what you McCall like. The main thing is the FBI.
They're gonna be if they if this, if they unredact
everything and go after these powerful people that are kid dedlers,
They're gonna have to go against the toughest legal team
ever assembled in the universe, and.

Speaker 1 (02:05:08):
By Alan Dershowitz, a man whose name appeared on the
flat Logs and list.

Speaker 2 (02:05:11):
Quite a bit. Yeah, and guess what just happened.

Speaker 3 (02:05:16):
They just look like a bunch of grad school just dropouts.

Speaker 2 (02:05:22):
Dealing with the Diddy case. Yeah, if you can't put
Diddy behind bars.

Speaker 1 (02:05:26):
I think he's he's He might not be behind bars
for long. But the Rico charges were fed.

Speaker 3 (02:05:34):
Look that the Feds don't want another black eye because
they have a ninety nine conviction rate for a reason.

Speaker 2 (02:05:39):
They don't go after cases they don't win.

Speaker 1 (02:05:41):
They missed the They messed up that Young Thug case too,
he beat Rico. We got Young Thug and Diddy beating
Rico charges in the last eighteen.

Speaker 3 (02:05:48):
They don't like those type of mendo yeah, when you
say those type, I mean young individuals.

Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
That's correct. The Uh well, here, LG, hit hit me
one more time. Let's close it out out here. I
could we could end up talking Epstein react conspiracy because
it's one of I wrote bipartisan, because it's one of
the few things where like I'm seeing like Rep. Mo Conna,

(02:06:16):
you know, Bernie's former campaign manager, now a representative from
a Democrat representative from California literally saying almost verbatim, the
exact same thing as Alex Jones is saying. So like
we're getting like by partisans. I fear this is going
to become our new like JFK files. This is gonna

(02:06:39):
be the for years. They'll say no, no, no, no, this
this is that's not la right and then uh oh,
the CIA didn't send Martin Luther King letter telling him
to un alive himself. Yeah, fbl the I feel like
Epstein is going to become our new JFK files, where
like thirty years from now now they'll release the files,

(02:07:01):
but it'll be a whole lot of nothing, like the
JIF is going to be able to fall out a
thousand percent. All right, ELG, let's have a little fun
before we close out here? Do you have that I
did this just for you. I've I've been enjoying my
rabbit rabbit holes of Keith Hernandez audio.

Speaker 2 (02:07:21):
All right, I'm excited. So are you familiar you got
me last year?

Speaker 1 (02:07:24):
Are you familiar with an individual named Richard Lovelady?

Speaker 2 (02:07:32):
I us have a name. I just have a teacher name,
miss love Lady.

Speaker 1 (02:07:35):
So you might remember him.

Speaker 2 (02:07:37):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:07:37):
He pitched against your Yankees. He's pitched for the Rays
and the Blue Jays in your division. He is a
thirty year old pitcher from Georgia who is now applying
his trade for the New York Mets. So the problem arises,

(02:07:58):
Keith over there, problem arises, so to speak, Richard Tyler Lovelady.
His whole life, since childhood, the named Dick. His friends
have called him Dickie. And this is where Keith andr
Nandez doesn't quite know how to handle that.

Speaker 2 (02:08:16):
So there was a controversy yesterday.

Speaker 6 (02:08:18):
Maybe controversy is too strong a word, but a misunderstanding.
All of Richard Lovelady's friends call him Dickey.

Speaker 7 (02:08:26):
Okay, So when the Men signed him and brought him
to the big leagues yesterday, he consulted with the meeting
relations staff, and they asked him, do you want to
be known as Richard or Dickie fly ball out the
center off the bat of Abby's and McNeil wauts it down,
and so.

Speaker 2 (02:08:45):
He said, you called me Dickie.

Speaker 6 (02:08:47):
And so the men put out a press release satan
they had signed Dickie love Lady, and then there was
a response online about us the care of Dickie love
Lady coming to the Men's and Richard was not anticipating
that kind of reality.

Speaker 2 (02:09:05):
So he went back to.

Speaker 6 (02:09:07):
You guys can call me Dickey, but for professional for
informational purposes, I'm just still going to be Richard. So
when you when you come across him in.

Speaker 3 (02:09:20):
The hallway, so he can say, hi, Dickey, but for
our purposes it's Richard Lovely.

Speaker 2 (02:09:27):
I'm going to play it safe. Call him Richard. That
would be that'd be a good move.

Speaker 6 (02:09:32):
You could go like halfway call him rich but that's
not his name, and and you know you're not usually
the guy who plays in safe.

Speaker 7 (02:09:42):
Year very nice, it's a nice slider by love Lady.

Speaker 2 (02:09:48):
Richard Lovely sounds like a great Southern writer.

Speaker 6 (02:09:54):
And hind Us sellers everywhere Hinesville, Georgia.

Speaker 1 (02:09:58):
There you go. I figure that's that's one of the
best ones.

Speaker 3 (02:10:02):
Oh me and Keith, I got you a beer anytime
you want is hit me up, Keith, Yeah, only I
will be your friend unlike Jerry Seinfeld, and I'll hook
you up with some friends that where you can just
leave it out.

Speaker 1 (02:10:15):
Wasn't it the mind thirty year anniversary of Seinfeld? I
think the first episode debut last week.

Speaker 3 (02:10:21):
If there was like something on the wall, it says
one day since I've watched thing would never reach double digits.

Speaker 1 (02:10:29):
All right, we need to work on that. It would
never reach someone builds us a sign because we need that.
All right. Well, on a you know, on an episode
where we start with the absolute devastating tragedy.

Speaker 2 (02:10:44):
That is one magic lookie, you get.

Speaker 1 (02:10:46):
