Speaker 1 (00:00):
Li be line, line, line.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Light, the beam. Indeed, I love how you're still grooming
as we go live. It's been a minute, so we
got to get back into the routine. Here broadcasting live
once again, all under the same roof here on the
north side of San Antonio. This is the normal Tuesday
(00:35):
night edition, returning on a normal scheduled Tuesday night for
the first time in a while, of the Sports Cave
with biggest Puma. I am your host, Sam Freeze, of course,
joined across the table in our new palatial studios here
with all of our fancy equipment, joined as always by
the cap with.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
The fancy talk palatial.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, if we gotta have, If we have fancy equipment,
we gotta have. You're the second person that has stopped
down on the word palatial in the last week.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Knowing like this is a nice palacial I view, it
would mean, yeah, it would mean having to do with
uh a palace like it's so nice, it's palace like.
So it's a place but luxury. Correct, it's a luxurious place.
(01:25):
It's a palace place. It's a palatial place.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
You add it to your vocal trust every now and then,
This backwoods Redneck education I received.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
That's how you get the face.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, well, I'll tell you a lot of it is
listening to people like Paul Harvey and Mike Reiner and
very over the top descriptive radio personalities from my childhood
that a lot of the vocabulary gets picked up on.
Of course, we'll check in with LG here in a
minute as we talk Subby's, as we uh scram to
(02:00):
make sure all of this uh palatial equipment works properly,
because it has been a minute. Boys, we haven't been
h I haven't been all in the same room for
god what last time we were here. We were celebrating
our hundredth show. That was November nineteenth.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
November. Oh yeah, because we didn't do one before the.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Because we didn't do a holiday one.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, we got LG was sick. He was down.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
LG was down Tuesday, and then Wednesday I had full
on holiday itis. It was look I mean I had.
I had a few sniffles like the cold the cold front.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Moving in to say you're hungover.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
No, no, it wasn't hungover. I can assure you that
the days of the days of passing off allergies as
a hangover I think are because I will I will
be brutally honest and tell you when it's like, you know,
I drank all the tequila on the East side where
we're not doing a show tonight. No, that was. That
(02:59):
was the roommate and I sitting on the couch at
like two o'clock in the afternoon, and then she got
done with work because they only had a half day,
and it was like, well, we're in holiday mode. It
is the holiday itis is kicking in. But more importantly,
so much s has happened. Uh since the last time
(03:20):
we were all in the same room starting with we're
officially two weeks from tonight.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
And we're in We're in the Emerys Cups, are in
the knockout round of the Immirates. I want that trophy
so bad.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
For one fear. I fear the pending future of the
Saudi's deciding my day to day fate. So I will
refer to it its proper name, the Immirates NBA Cup.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
They're their own country, that's correct, they are. But they
gained so much money.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
They're like spending a lot of money with us lately,
spending want to ride on those planes? Yeah, sending a
lot of money our way, which no, no reason to concern,
no reason to have any concern.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
No, no, no, we're pumping the Emirates Cup. Come on looking,
am I giving my free tickets?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Nine to eleven was a long time ago. We were
not as concerned about some of those sides. Yeah, I'm
not as worried about that these days, fourteen days away
from the Emirates NBA Cup Final, and as you said,
we do, uh, we do have local reason besides just
(04:32):
my insane infatuation with the NBA Cup. We have the
Spurs playing in a knockout game next Wednesday night against
the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Did you happen to see the the the ESPN app
where they go by like the percentages of who's gonna
win the game?
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
No? Edit in Denver was heavy favorites, going all the
way towards about three men's left in the fourth quarter
until the Spurs came back and an amazing win with
no Stefan Castle, no victor Winbiyama, no Area fifty one.
But Dylan Harper dearon Fox, they put on a show.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, there's well, could not be stopped, Bessel. It's nice,
it's nice to see. We're gonna talk. Of course, we
got Spurs notes, and we got a lot. The whole
show is it's going to be a lot to recap.
We're gonna we're gonna hit all of our normal Tuesday staples.
But uh, there's just a lot to get to. So
we'll see what we'll see what gets cut. But we
(05:32):
got Spurs notes. Of course, we got cow notes. Main Segee,
we'll do an NFL recap and then Lightning Round will
be a bit uh elongated tonight because we have so
much to recap, so much to get to, but of
course also got to do a low weekend recap with
the holiday. There were some stories that came out of
(05:54):
that that some good, some bad, some somewhere in the middle.
But should also tell you before we get to LG.
I know you've been waiting for it. It is the
National Day of Giving today, not even in November. I
(06:16):
think they do it this day every year because it's
everyone's You know that the red kettles are out, everyone's giving.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Give me a buzzer on that one man, it's the.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Giving Okay, Well then can I if you're not interested
in the national because I was gonna say, what better
way to celebrate National Day of Giving? Than to maybe
give a few super chats or see. But no, if
you want to talk, it's also World Trick Shot Day.
You want to talk about, dude, perfect net worth and
(06:46):
how much? How many millions upon millions among hundreds of
millions they may.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Get an I, p oh, it didn't work out.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Have you seen the like full Star studio.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, the warehouse. It's like like the Fantasy Factory from
rob That's okay, that's a great X but like quadruple
one hundred time size like full basketball corps, full, half
by full, like tennis whatever it will have not do you.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Want to take a guess on their combined net worth?
The the guys from Texas A and M that started
rose to fame by throwing a basketball off the top
of Kyle Field.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
I still remember that video.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I remember it distinctly. It was when my buddy was
at A and M and he was telling me about
these guys that were getting popular on campus, and it
showed me the video.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Four hundred mil.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Okay, you have a hired guest than I would have.
It's not quite that much, but you're not that far
off the couple, not even that. The most recent evaluation
of their whole. So in between the guys individually, you're
looking at about one hundred twenty five million dollars amongst
(08:02):
the how what thirty one of them that are in
the group, however many there are, there was.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Like a domain so believe it or not, they did
a thirty for thirty on Dude Perfect and I watched
it and.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
It wasn't terrible. It was It wasn't as bad as
I thought.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
There was original five right, one left to go be
a doctor. He's making less money. He's making less money doctor,
but he's fulfilling his life life's dream.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Okay, who needs yeah money can do that money. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
But now the original for trick shots, the original four
one was the bad Boy You got kicked out and
got brought back in.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Well they're like a K pop band.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, But like I guess they were like the when
the first people to do just straight content like how
Si does it and Logan Paul? Were they just doing yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Were they ever doing I don't Were they ever doing
like Day in the Life streams like that or was
it all just streams of them trying to hit a
specific trick?
Speaker 1 (08:58):
It was just Day in the Life. It was just
like they would videotape the room and he would just
keep on going wherever you win. He was like a
rock star.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
And I shouldn't slander too much because their most recent
valuation is closer to three hundred and thirty million dollars
in total brand value for the Dude Perfect.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Ask him for a lot, just an eight ball on
two million dollars.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, as a baby as uncle baby Billy, Uncle Baby
Billy would make a great member of Dude Perfect.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Quit playing that get out of your nerd.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
So yeah, National Day of Giving but also World Trick
Shot Day. But since since it is National Day of Giving, LG,
tell the good people how they can give to support
the program.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Here, jump up in that super chat. That'll help us
out a ton.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
And you can also hit that subscribe button if you're
not already subscribed, because we are trying to get to
that one K that's the next milestone.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Really, good friend of mine, the hippie, I told him
I was gonna call him out, still hadn't subscribed. I
made him subscribe today, a good hour and a half ago.
Good while he's out there, he's like a swim and subscribed,
and I'm like, pull your phone out and hit subscribe.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, why are you saying it like it's a badge
of honor, Like, just just help help a friend out here.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Man, It doesn't cost you anything.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
We're not asking for your first born here, come on.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
No. But I mean, if if you want to get
numb kidding, it's absolutely three o'clock, buddy, I think I
had my track record would say I probably would have
had one by now if I wanted one. As LG said,
absolutely free. The subby's on YouTube will never cost you
a penny. Uh, and that will continue to be We're
(10:44):
working on some new ideas for some uh.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
In the year is gonna be good. I'm just gonna
we're gonna implement some stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, the uh, the guys here have really little bit
of a fire under arguably the laziest ass of the
three of us here, which I think we can all agree.
I think we all know who I'm talking about. It's
not the guy I'm looking out across the table, and
it's not the guy running the show in the other room. Yeah,
(11:12):
it's that redneck right there. So we're working on some
daily content, but as we continue to do these live shows,
this will be where to find them. So definitely. I
see those subbys. We have jumped a few since since
we were last in the room.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
So we jumped one. I know we can jump a
couple more before Christmas. It is a national day giving.
I take it back. I like it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
And as also as LG said, the super chats, if
you do throw a super chat out there, if it's
on topic, we'll get to it in the segment. So
we're gonna talk spurs, We're gonna talk cows. If you
got spurs, questions, col thoughts, throw a super chat in
when we're doing the segment. We'll get to them if
if it's anything else related. If you want to tell
us about how your dad burned the house down frying
(11:55):
a turkey, hit us with a super chat and we'll
get to that right before the lightning round.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Always measured the bird with water before you put the
oil in. Little heads up.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
That doesn't seem like good advice. The oil and water
not together.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Put water in and then you put the bird in
to get the level. Okay, see he's burning houses. Yeah,
was about the burning houses. I'm throwing ice cuban some
oil and see what happens. I was always fun at
the restaurant.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Oh yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, just go over there at the oil pain Just
look the ice cubans there and there's.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Like, yeah, you know, the the hospital the average hospitality
worker has, uh, he doesn't have a wild hair anything
like that. To just randomly do that as you're standing
next to a fryar.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
All the all line chefs know that if you don't
walk around with scars, you're not really working.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Yeah. I feel like you can say that about like
ranch hands and line chefs, like that's like very different,
uh yeah, very different offices they work from, but similar
similar scars. Y'all want to get to it, do a
little weekend recap as we jump in.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Let's go to market.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
How about we mark eight eighteen also another one of
the changes. We're gonna put these markers to use at
some point. I promise, yeah that the roommate. You the
roommate got on your ass about that one. It's it is.
It is the time of year where my ass is
everybody else's problem right now, everyone is on my I
(13:23):
got I got family on my ass about when we're
gonna be back for Christmas in a good way. Yeah,
I've got her on my ass about what I want
for Christmas. I've told her right before we went live,
just get me this whatever this headphone is that LG has,
just do that and and that's that's my list. Yeah,
I want it. I want it in the I like to.
(13:43):
This is more like like every sofa from the seventies.
It's called the lore.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
The those just make me seem like my ears would
be sweating.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
That's a palatial color.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I like how the Word of God came through. It's
called the lore.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Well, the Word of God corrects us on colors of
headphones and also corrects us on Harrison Barnes being the
most accurate three point shooter. So usually when the Voice
of God comes into the program like that, it's with
very accurate and pertinent information. Weekend Recap got to do
(14:19):
some Thanksgiving talk just in general. Everyone have a good Thanksgiving.
No house is burned down.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Sat sat my happy ass down and watched football all day.
But then we had an actual friends giving, which we
call Homie Holiday on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Oh you're too cool for friendsgiving. Oh man, you gotta
have Homie Homeway doing this for.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Two decades before fate, like before social media was a
thing and picture camera phones were in everybody's hands.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Where we a better time just acted for one might say,
and when you go to homie holiday, the rule was
always if you don't know everybody and everybody doesn't know you, you
need permission, kind of as a should be. Yeah, that
makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
It was not followed this year, too bad.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Look, as someone who's been on it.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
I wasn't too been out of shape. I just didn't
stay too long. Yeah, give me a couple of gold
plates and I'll run back by over there.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, I'm good here as someone who has been to
multiple friends givings where I definitely knew less people. Yeah,
than like I would.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Have shown up if it wasn't cold, I would have
shown up in basketball shorts and a cutoff shirt. And
everybody's in there dressed to impress all these people I
don't know, and I, oh, no, no, I'm like, who
the are?
Speaker 5 (15:32):
Ah?
Speaker 1 (15:33):
You man?
Speaker 2 (15:33):
No, that's a and why are you dressed?
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Why I introduce myself to like eighteen people. I'm like,
I'm like, this is where we're gonna be smoking the
Devil's lettuce and just acting a full farting on each other.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
No, now you got to do it out that. Yeah,
because you can't. You can't have that smell on my
mink coat, on my on my nice valore suit.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Yeah, and it was like it was like a raptor
pit man whenever the food got there. But no, everything's
gotta be cool, Jewel, stay in the line. Let's serve
the adults, the parents first, And.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Just like, Okay, that sounds miserable. That's not a homie
what you a homie holiday?
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah? That's that sounds like the antipict shout out to
the people. They did, we did good. I love my friends.
But next year it will be different. That sounds like
I got a host it in my house. At my house,
it's going to be back.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
I'm imagining. I'm now imagining you standing outside your front
door like bouncing Homiel like, looks given, I name name
five people in this house right now? Nope, only four
gotta go.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
I was like, if I don't know you, then you
definitely shouldn't be here.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Ye start state your case. You're like, uh, like Peter
at the Pearly Gates, three chances to stay here? Talk me,
talk me into it. Let me let me know why.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
You think I brought you a j and I'm like.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Okay, well and now no I don't. I don't give
a damn who you know. And now we're good unless
it's swag.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Ours.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
On the other we did very traditional. We do Thanksgiving
with the roommate's family and then do Christmas up a
burning comfort area just just far enough where it's it's
you know, it's like an hour less than an hour,
like we start getting That's exactly, that's a little bit.
The only good thing is they they're very punctual people.
(17:29):
So lunch is love it. It's not. Lunch is not
at twelve oh one, and it's not at eleven fifty nine.
It is at high noon on the dot. That's when
food is served, ready and served.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
See, that's what I can't do. I can't do the
early Thanksgiving. I am not hungry at twelve o'clock.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
I'll tell you why it works for me, because we
get there, we eat, and then it's, oh man, it's
two o'clock. We got to drive back home to watch
the Cowboy game. I gotta I gotta have my notebook
and take my notes. I gotta. I've got to work, Darling.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Every holiday I tried that one didn't work well.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Now Now if you have a microphone, maybe you can
have a little more pressure you can apply. I've already
been I've already been laying the groundwork. Like Christmas Day,
cowboys play at noon.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
We there used to be a basketball day. Now.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, I don't like I don't like it at all.
The NFL, well, it is because it is greedy. That's
why it feels greedy.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
But roommate's family amazing spread. We had our our chef,
Buddy Ernie, the chef owner of Charity bar. Him and
his son wrote out there with us joined joined, the
family had the whole dinner. He brought some wild boar meatballs.
I love it when there's an item that is not
(18:56):
traditionally Thanksgiving, you know, something to kind of break up
the monotony of castle rolled dishes in Turkey. And so
he had some awesome Spanish wild boar or wild boar
Spanish meatballs.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Because you gotta get because wild boar is pretty gamey.
But it's right if you do it right, slow cooking
like you can, you can make some magic.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
You can do a lot. It's wild boar is one
of those items where it's either some yuppie at a
fine dining restaurant paying fifty bucks for an entree of them,
or it's there's a few of it's pretty popular now.
Or it's like my grandpa who shot one two days ago,
(19:39):
who's just working his way through the meat.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
It's like it's it's either like ultimate rednet.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
You want three pounds wild meat, you got it, vacuum
sealed right here for.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
You, stocking stuffer right there. I'll pick it up at Christmas.
Save it for me.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
I'm like, this made me some sausage.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Only Now, all this being said, food was amazing, Everything
was delicious. The only problem was I only got one
serving of it. Because not gonna throw anybody under the bus,
not gonna name names, not going to suggest that there
are certain gender roles that apply to kitchen related activities
(20:20):
versus not gonna apply, not going to imply any of that.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
We've already known that the women stay in the kitchen
from you.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
That is, I never once said that. I've I have
never implied any of that whatsoever. But I will say that, uh,
we forgot the turkey. You like, again, it's a team effort.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
We are we we all were in charge of the turkey.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
So we ate well, we had the turkey at lunch,
but then as we were gathering up all of our leftovers,
and I'm like, hey, it's two o five, like we
we gotta we gotta get past. We gotta go grab
castle rolls, like just grab what you can with your hands.
I don't care. We gotta get on the road. Uh.
And apparently between my you know, urging to leave over
(21:17):
zealous urging to get home in time for the Cowboys,
we uh left the turkey leftovers.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
So it's just gonna be a ham stuffy, mashed potato
cranberry sandwich.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
So it wasn't even you want to know how bad
it was. So there was there was turkey in the
giblet graving. There was turkey on top of the stuffing.
So I'm picking the turkey off the stuffing, putting it
on a roll and then slathering it with turkey gibliic
gravy to try to get to just try to get
like one turkey slider leftover. And I didn't realize it.
(21:49):
So we get home in time for the Cowboy game,
and uh, sitting there halfway through the second quarter starting
to get hungry again. Stuff starts going through all the
leftovers and I just hear a giant f bomb come
from the kitchen and my first thought is like, oh,
we got like a snake in the house or you know,
like something, you know, some kind of farming. Yeah, something uh.
(22:11):
And that was when the news was broken to me.
We we we we weren't going to be having leftover
turkey slide.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
I'm good with all the fix and I want.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Oh we did fine. I hit an entire pecan pie instead. Yeah, no,
we were fine. Yes, an entire pecan pie crust and all.
That's the best part. And when it was homemade too,
oh my god, is so good. Wh What do you
have against pecan pie?
Speaker 1 (22:38):
The little crust on the outside of it. I love
pecan pie, yeah, but just the feeling like the crust
on the outside is so dry and just.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Not when it's shown you haven't had good pecan pie.
Then this one was made by one of the roommates.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Oh a chef, Well it was.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
It's one of these something really popular in small towns
across Texas is like pie peddlers, you know. For that's
what that's literally what it was called out there, like
sil yeah, like Silicon Valley. No, that's what it was.
Called in my hometown. It's just people that like are
retired but are still wanting to stay busy, do something,
(23:16):
and they can make badass pies.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Oh they go like they have like the little town.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Uh exactly exactly, And so that was how one of
uh STEP's parents friends is one of these people that
slangs pies all around the Greater Bernie region. So it
was a nice Everything homemade was delicious. Uh. Only complaint
was the was the turkey. I should also say, on
(23:43):
the way out there, when's the last time you drove
a vehicle without cruise control? Uh?
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Man, when's the last time I drove a vehicle with
cruise control?
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Really?
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I don't trust it.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Man, It's like it's some grand now.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Now they got the new ones where it slows down
for you and it keeps just enough space in between.
But that's not that's not enough space to be like
move the f over.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
That's an LG's tesla does all of the breaking forum.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, that's the that's I.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Don't know that.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
You can cut off tesla's anytime you want to, and
then they break just I like, and I got the
rearview camera where it's not the actual mirror, but you
get to see people and I'm always seeing people think
that pick their nose in their car and when they
think I'm not watching, but.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
I'm watching constantly.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Yeah, but like I see the cut off with Tesla
and you just see their head jerker, like, yeah, they
did so angry.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Despite your belief that cruise control is an Emirates conspiracy
theory to control Overlord, I uh so our cruise control.
The knob that like controls it snapped in half on
the way out there. So it turns out there might
(25:06):
have been some There might have been again another unnamed
individual that normally doesn't do a whole lot of driving
that was behind the wheel of the vehicle.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
How does not get worn out, So.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
It wasn't that it was worn out. An unnamed individual
hit their knees so hard on the steering column that
it cracked it. And then the first time I pushed
it to set it, the whole thing just snapped in half.
It was very much like you remember in Dumb and
Dumber where he jerks the door backwards but then he
gets it back on. That's the treatment I got. Where
(25:45):
as soon as it snapped, it's like what you you
don't know your own strength. You just broke And I
was like, I don't know what happens. She's like, no,
I'm kidding, it happened. I did it. I did it
two days ago. I've just been.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Waiting the cruise control because I'm always driving GM chevis
or GMC.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Look at you, red blooded patriots, hey.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Buddy, by American you The cruise control is on the
steering wheel. So I'm like, what could be on that
steering wheel given enough force to make a cruise control
fall off?
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Yeah, there's some idea.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
You're getting me a.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Little closer to your conspiracy theory. Now I see where
you're going. Unfortunately, now that was the So it happened
on the way out there, and then on the way back,
you know, out near Bernie it's like eighty the speed
limits like eighty eighty five, you know, something crazy, and
so normally I, oh, it's great out there, it's God's country. Uh,
(26:43):
normally I just set the cruise and you know, nail
it all the way back into town. That was the
first time where one I'm driving like a madman to
try to get back in time for the Cowboy game. Two,
I don't have any cruise so like at times I'd
look down and where I had dropped all the way
down to like seventy five, I'm.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Like, what the hell, what am I doing?
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Exactly exactly I got. I have to adjust to life
without it. And then the only other thing I had
before we hear about one of the members of this
program's upcoming globe trotting trip. Something big happened over the
holiday weekend, and I think I told you all about
this at the beginning of football season, the first week
(27:28):
of not the first week we had NFL and college football.
On that same weekend, the some of the back lighting
on my TV started to go out, and it would
be sporadic, like you watch it for like an hour
and a half, and then part of the screen would
go dark, not fully black, so you could still see,
(27:50):
but it just wasn't lit up like it should be.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Talking about like the omnion sliding that goes on the back.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
No, no, I'm talking about the actual like screen, Yeah exactly,
So like a third of it would go dark. But
here's I've been using quad boxes all year.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
A lost two bucks.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I would intentionally make it where I would put games
that I didn't care about, so I was I was
settling with, you know, just living with a dual box
instead of quad box technology. And I had been surviving.
I had been surviving until because I was trying to
make it to Black Friday because I didn't want to
(28:29):
buy a new TV at the beginning of football season.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
They're doing like Black Friday and Cyber Monday all week long.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, it's all meaningless now. It's all just consumerism running up,
which is at times good for the consumer, at times
not so much like this one. Do I really need
an eighty five inch TV? Well, it's on sale for
twelve hundred dollars off. The roommate had she forced me
this is all true. I did not. I did not.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
I was.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
She forced me to take a tape measure and measure
all the dimensions. So the one we currently had was
a fifty five, and she made me measure all the
dimensions of what I thought, what I thought would work,
and then what she thought would work. Buddy, I didn't
push for the eighty five, but my initial thought was,
(29:24):
seventy five inch doesn't look that bad. Yes, it's pretty cheap,
you know, over half off. You we're getting a better
deal if we buy this one than a smaller. Yeah,
we went with TCL, the Google brand.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Oh that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, it's a great it's a great TTLC, really really
good for gaming, which I'm gonna talk to you in
a second. A high refresh rate, exactly, a great frame rate.
So she, luckily for my sake, agreed sixty five in
which we're good. Let's not get too much crazier than that.
(30:04):
So ended up getting a new TV best holiday sports
viewing I've had in years. It's one of those deals.
I shouldn't be surprised. But like the TV we had
was not old old, but it was definitely it was
one of the first four K televisions. That's how old
it was, so like seven years old something like that. Seven.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, you got some life out of it. Man.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
It worked pretty well and it was a crappy ass
visio and it held up nicely.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Like the LG that I got LG TV in here.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yeah, it didn't buzz like this one did. It just
finally lost the back lighting.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
This one landed straight face down on the garage floor.
I'm surprised it's still still love again.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
As I said, it's got a buzzing like a like
a bug trap. On the back porch, like the Blue
Light Machine there. LG swears by it. But Best Sports Viewing,
you remember when you went from regular resolution to high
death and it was just like, there's no way it
(31:07):
can be that. Oh yeah, that's a big difference.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yeah, somehow, I remember the Best Buyer where you get
the chair and you get the experience. Yeah, like all
the all the speakers around you, and you're like, you
want to hear what surround sound really feels like stadium sound,
And then you realize you're gonna have to set up
weird speakers in weird areas and drill holes in.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Your roof and yeah, no, it's not it's not the same,
and it's not worth it. It's really not. But buddy,
I'm telling you, I've noticed stuff on Grand Theft. I've
been playing Grand Theft Auto for you know, Grand Theft
Auto five for what thirteen years, however long it's been out.
It's been on three different systems now, but I had
(31:49):
only ever played it on two different TVs, so it
was like the old old TV with the PS three.
It looked it was potato quality. It was bad, but
I knew it was bad. The last one I thought
you know, on PS four and now even PS five
with the old TV, I thought, there's no there's just
(32:09):
no way. This is as best as it can get. Buddy,
That new TV blows it out of the way. It's
not even Do you remember when the Spurs played the
Cup game against the Nuggets with the red floor, Yeah,
that was the That was the moment I realized I
needed to adjust some of the picture settings because it
was it was bright Barbie pink, and it was so
(32:31):
bright that when the roommate came and sat on the
couch to watch the game, it was still during pregame,
Jacob Toby and Danny Green were filling in that Danny
Green was filling in for Sean and as soon as
she sat down on the couch, her first words were,
why are they wearing so much lipstick? Because the reflection,
(32:52):
the pink reflection of the court made it look like.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
They were just juicy lifted caked on.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Yeah, And so that was that. That was where I realized,
all right, let's let's mess with some of the settings.
But you talking about the frame rate in gaming. I
bought this specifically for because I told her it's the
best quality too. This is the right one to get
it is the best it's the best game. Oh yeah, yeah,
oh yeah solid. They they'd up those prices about that.
(33:24):
And look, last week, I would have told you it's
it's as much of a Ponzi scheme and a sham
as insurance. Yeah, uh no, no, it's some of it.
HiT's worth it.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
So when I bought my TV, like moved from plasma
to LED, was way back and probably like fifteen years ago,
still about the two forty, and that thing cost me
about four or five thousand dollars at the time.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
So see that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Yeah, that thing still works, man, It still works. Still
looks better watching sports because of the frame rate. You
don't get any drag, you don't getting me like blurs,
and it's still kicking.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
I mean, I've got an old like big screen with
the full back, you know, from the two thousands. Yeah,
but it came from a kid. I took it out
of one of our rent houses after we had some
residents move out overnight unexpectedly, and the whole house might
have smelled like a certain uh home produced crystal item. Yeah,
(34:31):
so the TV reaked of men. It was. As James
McMurtry would say, I didn't mind the smell like it was.
I had a giant, big screen TV in my room.
My mom, on the other hand, did did not appreciate it.
But LGD, you have that clip I sent you of
the the Bears head coach. So I was playing a
(34:54):
lot of Grand Theft Auto to begin with, but I
wanted I was jumping across all the different sports games
that you know, playing a bunch of FIFA, a bunch
of college football, and uh jump back in now cowboys
are winning. Started that. I started up that Cowboys franchise.
Let's rebuild the Boys.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
No Cowboys slurping just yet.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
There's there will be plenty of time. There will be
plenty of time for that. Ben Johnson was asked last
week if he had ever if he grew up playing
Madden or if he played Madden a lot, and it
one when I when I saw this clip the first time,
I thought like, hell, yeah, that's my guy. And then
(35:37):
two I realized, like, oh damn, we're like the same age,
like where you know what I'm saying. It's like, oh no,
he's not like this is the same interest, right, It's
like no, no, no, he's just literally one of us. So
This was his answer exactly.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Occasionally, Were you a thrower or runner? What was your team? Shoot?
I always like taking the bad teams and make the
franchise mode and try to build them up from there.
But uh, more of a thrower, Yeah, somewhere right.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
And so do you do you wanna do you wanna
pick on me for having a shared experience with a
current NFL head coach?
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Not a bad team? If you franchise mode and put
all the good players on it, you just have a no.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
No, no, do you have a no? You've got to
set a rule. You got to build the roster. You
got Ask anyone that played franchise Mode with me growing up.
I was the commissioner and I vetoed trades like if
you were ripping the computer off, No, no, no, no, We're.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Well you can do it. So I told you My
last one was oh five with the hit stick.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Oh you gotta know you gotta pump those numbers up.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Yeah, no, I was. There was a point where I'm like,
if I am getting mad at a game more than
I am enjoying it, I'm not gonna play anymore. Well,
that's one why I don't play seek Call of Duty
COD anymore was getting a little too angry, yelling a
little bit. My kid was like eight years old here
in the explicit that he doesn't even want to know
(37:09):
eight year old's now. I would go in and get creative,
you know. I would suggest, like, you know what you
need to do. You need to take that buddy you
got in the fridge.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Yeah, lead them down the path of uh No. I
would suggest potentially, maybe a little therapy could have also
helped keep your video game.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
It was when they started, when they started watching YouTube,
and they all did the same tricks, and they all
knew where the same little things.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Oh my god, everyone knows the glitches jump, spin, wall
drive whoa, And you're not even playing the game anymore.
That's not fun.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I'm like, dude, you're not. I was like, there's no
strategic there's no human element to this anymore. It's just
do this trick and you'll get this killed.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
Replicate what someone else has figured out over and over,
and yeah, that's fun. But I will say, Ben Johnson,
you got so you think you can to head coach
the Bears? Uh No, But the Browns. I think I
could rebuild the Browns, not the Jets, though. I like
(38:16):
Aaron Glenn, I've already got my head coach, I mean
got the draft picks.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Sanders ran off the field without shaking any hands. Man.
The Browns are a mess.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
We'll get to a little bit of NFL talk before
we jump into Spurs notes. Should do a program announcement
here because we're back on normal Tuesday Thursday, although this
week Cowboys play Thursday Night Wow, and we're gonna have
to figure out some kind of watch party or something
because the Cap and I are officially on our own
(38:48):
after tonight. We got to figure out Thursday watch party,
watch along for the Cowboy game, and then we got
to do Tuesday and Thursday next week just me and
you because LG is about to embark on his next
globe trotting.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
He's like Vultron, He's the head man. Can't what can
we do without the head.
Speaker 6 (39:09):
Well, we can't be live first of all, and let's
let's me do the watch party on Twitch.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
And then I was like, can I cuss on that one? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Probably? Hell, I don't know the rules. That's why we
need LG here. But we'll still do shows Tuesday and
Thursday next week. We'll just audio only versions we'll record
them and put them out. But LG tell the good
people why you are abandoning abandoning us in our time
of need.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Uh yeah, I cashed in some airline miles and I'm
headed to uh selfish Land of the Rising sun.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Ah, California, beautiful, beautiful Sunsigned state.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
I love Aspen love here.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
It's beautiful this time of year.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
So are we going to any of the radioactive parts
or just the touristy arts.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
I haven't decided yet.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
I will be in bullet train area of Hiroshima if
I wanted.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
To go there, Hey, check it out.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
I don't think I'm gonna go there.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
I'm gonna go to Osaka, Tokyo, Nara and him Himidgimi.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
How many of those have you been to?
Speaker 1 (40:18):
You were if you weren't Asian, that'd be racist as hell.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Yeah, I'm not trying. I've been to Tokyo, oh Okay,
so you're getting majority of new destinations.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
Try to get me to go to Tokyo and I'm like,
this does not fit anywhere into I don't.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
I will pay for the travel. I don't have to
live through it. That's gonna suck.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
We need footage of you navigating.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Tokyo the houses in California. I'm hitting my head on
the door frame and having to walk through sideways.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
Yeah. No, you'll be fine in Tokyo. So you're literally
you booked it. Uh what last night? Two nights ago? Yep,
and fly out I five cool? Oh god?
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Oh wait?
Speaker 2 (41:02):
You told us we could do a full three and
a half hours tonight to catch up on everything.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
It's all good. I won't sleep anyway.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
That's the best way to do it. What is that
fourteen fifteen hours?
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Well, the flight is going to be about thirteen hours
of travel, but Tokyo's fifteen hours in the future.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
I'm gonna need that leg room.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Oh so you can tell us who wins the Cowboy
game Thursday night before it happened. Sure, yeah, yeah, because
that's how it works.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
I was pulled Gray's Sports Aminac look.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
It up for you.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
I'll take it.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Shout out, buddy.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
I'm down four. I'm down four overall in our and
our picks. I need all the help I can get.
How long? So spurs obligations?
Speaker 3 (41:44):
What are spurs are on the road for the after tonight?
Speaker 2 (41:47):
They're on the road for fourteen days.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
The seventeenth is their next home game after tonight.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
How are we on the road so long? And then
we still got to do the Rodeo road trip.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
This is longer than the road.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Yeah, this is insane. Well, and they break the Rodeo
road trip up now by doing the Austin games.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
Yeah, so there's two Austin games.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yes, so they count as game exactly.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Well, l G.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
I I am envious of your global travels ahead, but.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Yeah, we we, even though.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
I do want to see what a Japanese toilet is
all about. You can buy one expensive three K on
a Japanese toilet, even.
Speaker 3 (42:35):
Change your line.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
I would, I would days, even though it took me
about five minutes to figure out his mid day. It
was not easy for.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
You didn't shut it off properly either. You literally turned
off the water line to the toilet.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
I know, I was like turning the water line on
and off, and I'm like, what's going on here?
Speaker 2 (42:54):
Just turn it back on. It's just a gusher shooting
out like old Faithful.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
There's a different valve for the mid day.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Okay, why is a Japanese toilet life changing? As you
just said, LGLG, This one.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
The first time I tried one, it was the dead
of winter.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
It was like February, early February in Tokyo, and I
was freezing my ass off, literally and I sat down
and I just immediately when my ass cheeks touched the
porcelain seat, which was heated. Let me just say, if
you've never taken a BM on a heated toilet seat,
you're missing out on life. Missing And that doesn't include
(43:33):
all the other amenities it has as well.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
That's puffers, incense like it like.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
It'll play music, come with tvo.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
It literally will blow it will blow dry your butthole.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
There's different levels to it.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Yeah, you broke up. I can't say bubble no, And
you just said it again. That's not talking about the
toilet man eight for nine cap says b hole sphincter.
Uh how much are for real?
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Yeah here, they're gonna be like three grand because they're
all grand.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
Yeah. I looked into it.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
It sounds there's a whole South Park episode about it.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Yeah, ah okay, I kind of remember that now.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
I was ahead of the curve. I looked into it
like like pre COVID.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
Yeah, like you with your homie holiday, like no, we
were ahead of that. We were friends.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
When everybody was out looking for toilet paper. This man
had a good day and one role got me through
about two months. Look, I will All you gotta do
is just just just pat it. You don't need to go.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Without getting too much further graphic. You don't realize how
dirty you are until you have a day regular use it.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
How dirty? How yeah?
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Like I'm clean, no, I know, but like if these
pipes are clean, no, no, if you're just using toilet paper,
oh yeah, it's discussed. It's discussed. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
I refuse to go b MS anywhere. Like Hu. I
was like, I was like, I know, LG's got me
covered over here.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
So how LG? How are how many days will you
be exploring Japanese toilet culture?
Speaker 3 (45:10):
Ten?
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Ten?
Speaker 3 (45:12):
So as long as the Spurs are on the road.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
Now I come back three days before the Spurs.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Come back, okay, So we just got to get through
next week. Yeah yeah, and we'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Yeah, fine, we'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
We'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Pictures of those toilets and see if you can buy
it their price price, check me to see how.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
Much you want me to go on a toilet.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
Yes, yes, gott journalism with toilets, Bring us photos.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Bring us back half a dozen pictures of toilets, and.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Maybe like a two time speed of experience on one
of the toilets of just the pictures.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Like there's been some bad toilets, you get me wrong,
some high pressure and in some of the villages have
the old school squat toilets.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Say that, yeah, it's like right in the whole exactly
when we went to China, that was the first more
up you know, my giant frame realizing like, oh this
is not gonna go well, it's.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Like you.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
Gotta have the handrails if it's a squat with the
handrails because you can prop yourself up.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
My quads have never been sore, never been more sore
than that trip to Asia. Uh well, LG, I think
we this is what's gonna happen. I can already predict it.
We're gonna do this stupid bit. LG is gonna bring
pictures of Japanese toilets back, and it's gonna end up
being our most watched episode because some Asian travel influencer
is going to end up making fun of us for
(46:37):
breaking down. Bro Japanese toilets.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
If there is a Japanese toilet company that wants to sponsor,
I will give you free advertisement.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Hey, pre advertising. That's not free, it's not free trade.
And you are disclosing it right now, so it's not
pal Oh.
Speaker 2 (46:56):
I'm not worried about that. I'm just worried about it
only being a thousand everything. I'm more worried about you
only saying one toilet. Yeah, yeah, there's I got two bathrooms. Yeah,
she's got two bathrooms. Yeah, come on now, Steve O's
got three bad Yeah, let's look out. Let's look out for.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
I was like, I'll make it to that one in
the back.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
I I'm telling you we need I need now, it's
not even a bid anymore. That that is your one Uh,
that's your one mission to give us some.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
But we need model numbers, we need prices, we need pictures.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
What I can do, it's gonna be a little rough
on the translation, but a.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
Little bit, a little facial features of you.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
The first the first time I had a really high
tech one, I couldn't figure out how to flush it.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
That would be my worry.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
Because I could I couldn't read the button. There's like
twenty buttons.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
I didn't know which one was where. It's just like, okay,
I go to go to YouTube and find it.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
I did any guess what you know? It was a
it's a it's a motion sensor. You wave your hand
along the side and then it flushes. You don't need.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
What to say. Man, as the cleanest BM experience, just.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Like the cleanliness and efficiency of the whole operation that
y'all are describing. Dude, I'm in.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
The ones that are integrated into the bathroom door to
shoot it as soon as the door opens. That the
toilet seat that lifts up and a light turns on
in the bowl.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
Not bad. I will not get mad at ai if
it knows my bms.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Why why is all of our research being driven to
create a super Grande Chloopa Taco Bell or the KFC
double Stack or its is? Okay? I was about to say,
we need to figure out who we need to go
full unibomber on because we need this level of toilet
(48:59):
culture in America. Damn it.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
Yeah, Big Sharman's got us under lock over there, like
we need to wipe our butt fifteen.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
Big paper is gonna keep us down.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
The green stuff.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Well, LG, I I know you have great faith in
us to keep this keep this program afloat while you
were gone.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Yeah you got this.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
Yeah, we'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
I remember to say sphincter hole from now on.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Yeah, well we'll don't make don't make promises your sphincter
hole can Yeah and still yes, borderline. How about some
Spurs notes before we get too much further behind mark
eight point fifty five, let's do some Spurs notes. We've
kind of buried the lead or kind of got to
(49:42):
the lead already with the Spurs. They are officially in
the knockout stages, in the knockout round, a quarter final
matchup against the Spurs, all right, against the Lakers in
LA next Wednesday night. I know I've been doing a
bit about the NBA Cup, but I want to win
it one. I want to win it two. When you
(50:05):
have a roster of young guys that aren't on massive contracts,
where the actual financial gain the financial prize of winning
the NBA Cup, uh you know, actually it means more
proportionally to a team that has a bunch of low
number salary guys than someone like the Lakers with Lebron
(50:29):
And then we's making year. Well that's going to change soon.
Speaker 1 (50:33):
That still is rookies.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
But the other what Champagne is like three million years
something like that. I think Vassel and Kelden are highest,
like the sort of Max step below. Yeah, Darren Fox
the highest paid. But for the most part, I mean
it's a roster of guys that are either mid level
or or under uh so they're you know, the financial
(50:57):
side of it.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Definitely the fact that we're doing without Area fifty.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
One, it's pretty insane. So the Spurs since our last show,
the Spurs are three and two, but most importantly, two
of the three wins were NBA Cup games, the win
over the Blazers and then that win on the Barbie
Court in Denver over the Nuggets where the comeback was
on there in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
Is it me or is Joker looking little Lucash like
last year Lucash.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
I think it's just a matter of Joker realizing one,
the Nuggets aren't going No one's going to catch the
thunder and the standings and if you're not still one
game Laws one laws, they're on like what a seventy
six win pace, I mean, something stupid like that. I
think the Nuggets are at the point of their arc
(51:50):
with this current group led by Jokic, that if they're
just in the top six, it doesn't really matter who
you know, first round matchups don't matter. You're gonna put
your faith in Jokic to turn it on in the playoff.
I think there's definitely been a and also a lot
of roster turnover this year. Michael Porter junior out who
was a big part of the championship team. What's his name,
(52:14):
Cam Johnson in uh so, new pieces, some new moving parts,
some role player guys that are now getting way more minutes,
like Christian braun Way being depended on a lot more.
I think, if you're asking me outside of Oklahoma City
or I guess you know, San Antonio, what team do
(52:35):
I think has the best chance to win the West
and actually beat the Thunder? I think I would still
go I think I would still go Denver because of Joki.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Because they showed last year how to beat Denver. Yeah,
so I don't have Denver Bean. I was like, we
need they need young. Basically, the formula to beat the
Thunder is young hih pressure defense, fast paced offense.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
Which is a lot of what the Spurs are exactly.
So it's like and not what Houston is really.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
Exactly because now it's going through Kevin Durant and Shingoon
who's slowing everything down.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Yeah, I think the bigger takeaway is, look, dude, if
the thunder don't repeat, that will be americle.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
That'll be a shot.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
That'll be a shot. Which is crazy to think that
they are already ascended. Like they've you mentioned, they've only
lost one game. They didn't have their all NBA player
Jaylen Williams J Dubb that whole time. He just came
back last week or earlier this week. So like there
they've only they've been doing all of that with a
depleted roster and not just depleted, but without their second
(53:45):
best guy maybe third MVP Finals, but arguably you know,
had some level. And then the two losses mentioning the wins,
the NBA Cup wins, which are I'd rather win those
games and get into the knockout round, but there is
(54:09):
some level of I won't. It's not concern, but the
fact that the two losses with since we've done the
show again with Castle Out, Phoenix again and Minnesota Sunday Night,
two teams that you're potentially gonna see in a playoff series.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
But see, I see Minnesota, like if we had Stefan
Castle Garden, and that would have been different, of course,
you know, so I put that there, and then the
length of winby they just it was a close game,
but like they just download offensive rebounds. I think they
had beat us on offensive rebounds big time, and then
(54:48):
you know, of course second chance points coming off those.
So if we had our team, I think I'm not
too worried about Minnesota. But but what is Phoenix doing?
They have a recipe right now. They had beaten us twice.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah, it's pretty it's pretty shocking.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
But if they sneak in to like a playing round
and get we we play them first, I'm not I'm
not happy until we pull out a win regular season
on them and we dominate them, because yeah, I the
son something there. Devin Booker's got to like I think
Devin Booker was thinking he was coming to San Antonio.
Then he's got a little chip on his shoulder.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
That Sun's team is so weird because you know, obviously
trading away KD, you would expect rebuilding, rebuilding, but now
they're looking kind of like they're in that no man's
land of for somebody exactly exactly so, and you've got
Devin Booker, so you're not gonna ever fully blow it
up unless he gets, you know, catastrophically injured out for
(55:49):
the rest of the year or something.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Yeah, but you never count on that, No, God, no.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
Of course not. You mentioned it in that game against Minnesota.
It wasn't all bad and a loss because watching Dylan
Harper back on the court, going right at Gobert and
scoring at the rim, scoring in the paint against the
former Defensive Player of.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
The Year, two time defensive player.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
Yeah, that was pretty nice to see. That was really nice.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Dylan Harper knows how to finish man. That is, he's
one of those things where it's like it could be
scary good, like we just need if we can get
that sixth man off the bench, that is like that
genobilius that will carry the second team to where we
don't have a lull when we have to sit Winby
or sit Steph on Castle, sit dearon Fox. It's like,
(56:38):
let's bring in our B team, but our B team
is still gonna dominate, Like can play with your A
team and dominate your B team.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
Yeah, the Dylan Harper being able to contribute. I mean, obviously,
when you take a guy second overall in the draft,
you're expecting pretty quick contributions. But it's not as much
to me just watching him. It's not as much the
raw numbers he's putting up. It's the comfort. It's the
feel for the game at that young of an age.
(57:09):
It's the it doesn't seem rushed. No, it's the smooth
like when.
Speaker 1 (57:13):
He's driving to it's not like a herky jerking motion
or something like that. He's sitting there just under underneath
the rim. Lay up. Okay, I'm running back.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
Yeah, he's got a he's got a nice game already,
and thinking about how this whole group develops together, you know.
Having the Castle injury, I think we said it when
it first was announced that he was going to be
out for multiple weeks. You know, there if there is
a silver lining, it's the fact that Dylan Harper is
(57:45):
now getting more minutes in the rotation this early in
the season to potentially make some gains.
Speaker 1 (57:53):
Ever starting to see development a little bit.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Yeah, had some Carter Bryant moments. You mentioned Vassell had
some hot shooting over the course.
Speaker 1 (58:03):
Behind the arc, like but seven threes, and that's what
I know.
Speaker 2 (58:07):
The Voice of God will chime in and remind us
that Harrison Barnes is on the roster and he can shooting.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
He's playing out of this world. First off, Harrison bars
didn't play like this last year.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
No, not even close. No, not as close efficient efficiency wise.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
He seems faster on defense. He's going to the ground
trying to get those loose balls, those fifty to fifty balls.
He's creating turnovers, and he's knocking down threes.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
It kind of feels like, you know, the the confidence
of the entire group, feeling like, you know, we have
one of the five best basketball players on the planet.
We have an emerging sophomore superstar, and we have the
number two pick in the most recent draft. Like it is,
(58:55):
the pieces are here now, and it's not it's about
those three at the top with Daron Fox, your max
contract guy. But now, like we were talking about when
the Voice of God reminded us about Harrison Barnes, now
it's about everybody else. It's about the role players. It's
about Kelton busting his ass on both ends of the court.
(59:18):
It's about Harrison Barnes knocking down threes at the highest.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
Season since three, like in two or three years right now. Yeah,
just the aggressiveness, the offensive rebounding for being one of
the tiniest people on the court. I know it's not
as much as he has.
Speaker 2 (59:33):
He's a six foot five power forward.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Yeah, it's insane. And the fact I can finish it
the whole and knock down the three. So he is
all around game. If he keeps his confidence going like this,
it's good. It's scary.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Yeah. Uh, Spurs thirteen and six. Now overall, I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
Forward to the game game tonight, man.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Yeah, what is I was just letting nineties Spurs up
by one with nine and a half minutes left here
in the fourth. Got to get the win over the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies, he's always had our number, man, Yeah, Mike,
that's a they had, like, I think an eight game
winning streak against US or something. And obviously the eight
versus one upset the Grizzlies had over the Spurs. It's
(01:00:15):
one of those weird like franchise upper hands for no
apparent reason at all.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
It was like the Clippers back in the day. Yeah,
that's another good one man. I hated like but I
think that's when one of those things, when they just
did not want the Spurs to go again. There's a
reason why we only won every other year, and then
all of a sudden it was the Lakers or the
New Shining Stars.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
It are you suggesting again that the NBA might have
a rigged element to it?
Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
Oh no, no, not the refs and the players that
have already got busted.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Everything is completely above board. There's nothing to worry about here.
I should mention that I was what.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
The Spurs beat the Grizzlies already this year.
Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
Yeah, they did have the win earlier. I was worried
about it. God yeah, always yes, thank you. One eleven
one on one that's so tight, pulled away late, pulled
away late. Let's check the final three minutes of that game.
I think I remember no Zach Eddy Edie coming off
a thirty two point seventeen rebound, five block performance. I
(01:01:17):
remember watching him his first couple of years at Purdue
and thinking like this, this is going to be a
pretty unstoppable force at the college level. But I don't
see how this translates to the NBA. He has completely
changed his body, style. Actually, I mean we saw him
earlier before the show, pulling sohand down to the ground,
(01:01:40):
wrestling with him there. Move, but it's an intrigue. It's
an intriguing player to me, a guy. I mean just
that that size, I mean it's yoming with more athleticism
but less overall basketball skill. Yeah, and you can do
something with that, yeah, exactly. More fluid, Yeah, more fluid athlete.
(01:02:01):
All that being said, he's got fifteen and ten tonight,
so better better showing from the Spurs big men.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
It's funny how those big men get those rebounds when
Wimby's not on the court.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Well, and also should mention that thirty two and seventeen
and five game Edie's coming off of that was to
the Kings, who I swear they better be checking the
beam every day to make sure it still works, because
they have not. They have not gotten to light their
own beam. I think we probably had done a show
(01:02:34):
more recently than they've lit their beam at home there
in Sacramento.
Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
When do we get any traction over in Sacramento, they're like,
why why are they lighting the beam in San Antonio?
So it's funny that's only at the strip clubs.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
We were playing around last night as we were talking
about some of the potential new edition stuff we're going
to be doing in the new year, and we're the
roommate was pulling up. We were just doing some like
test seo, like Google search test and see what was
(01:03:07):
because we were testing out some names, you know, for
social channels and whatnot. And as as she I can't
remember what it was she searched, but the AI uh
search response was the Sports Cave is a bi weekly
(01:03:29):
sports show done in San Antonio. But they used the
Sacramento Kings phrase of light the beam at the top
of it, and I was like, yes, AI, this is
seeing how unstable this bit is.
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
Spectacular disappointment. It's going just AI for our show.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
You need to embrace There are no there are absolute
ways you can better your life daily through the use
of AI.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
I will fight, I will resist, I am the rest.
Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
It will never be used to make any content unless
you want to hologram me, and then you can just
have hologram AI me sitting out and we.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
Have Grock with LG's voice correct. Actually, don't use a
video of a video. I don't think that would be
Grock's accent.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
There, buddy, I think it might be a little more
Bavarian sounding by nature, dingo. But yeah, nowhere there are
ways where you'll benefit from it. Don't worry about it,
you'll benefit uh And do you have any other spurs
thoughts for me?
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
I'm just hoping that we get least Stephan Castle back
for Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Okay, I did have that down.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
So Wednesday is the playing game and we play the
Lakers in La in.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
La, which because they had a better point differential, I
think it was.
Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
They had that was our one loss.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Oh was that the heads up tiebreaker?
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
Okay, I didn't know. He might be right on the
point of I thought it was just a heads up thing.
Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
But do you know what's going on? Speaking of the
pink courts and the crazy courts for the NBA Cup,
So the Lakers only used their custom court one time.
It's a competitive advantage if you ask me. But yeah,
it was because both teams complained about how slippery and
dangerous their court was, and so they played one game
(01:05:26):
on it, and then the rest of their NBA Cup
games they used a different a normal court. So I
think potentially we don't have to see off the sod Yeah,
we don't have to see a crazy Lakers themed you know,
bright gold court or whatever they were using before.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
You think Lakers would have like the coolest looking court
you would think, you would think, but all that swag
out there, and it's hard. I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
When you're a team that still uses the name of
Land of a thousand late because you used to be
the Minnesota Lakers. Like also the Lakers not as cool,
not as cool if you really think about it too
too far. But yeah, we'll be keeping our eye late
(01:06:15):
tip next Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Prestigious Immirates.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
We know, do we know who in the Western Do
we know the matchups?
Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
Yeah? What is the the other side of the bracket.
I have been more focused on who were the other two?
I think I think they're pretty good, like normal good West. Yeah,
it's it's it's the Thunder and the Suns. So either way,
you're either you're going up against the Thunder or you're
going up against the team that's already gotten your number
(01:06:47):
a couple times.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
This year and over on the Eastern Conference, Heat versus
Orlando and Nicks.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Versus Raptors, the battle for Florida.
Speaker 1 (01:06:55):
That's interesting the Raptors. Yeah, I mean the Raptors are
surprising this yeah, deceptively good. Yeah, but I wouldn't mind
seeing the magic in the Knicks because I can see
that being the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
Yeah, very much so. Yeah. Which again, like I know,
I'm doing a bit with the countdown and talking about
how historically.
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
I want I want the Mercy's Cup.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Well, I want to. I want to win it. If
you're playing in something, you want it, whether it's a
preseason friendly tournament, you want to win it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
The you can't watch these games and tell me, like
the game against Denver.
Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
Oh dude, they want it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
It is so much better than watching what three years
ago was a normal regular season game in the middle
of November.
Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
Yeah, it is like blowout. Yeah, where it's like we're
gonna put our slubs in with six minutes left. Nah,
it's we were down by ten at one point in
the fourth quarter. We still be fought back.
Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
You won't hear me say it's playoff style basketball or
but it's I will say it's closer to play off
basketball than it is early season regular I think that
season game.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
Because it's not a series. I think they're playing as
hard as they are in the playoffs. I mean the
one game against Houston, the first one with Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
The Spurs, Yeah, that was ja they got chippy. That's
also rival to which makes it even better.
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Yeah, so and we won that one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
So yeah, I'm looking forward to see hopefully, as you teased,
at least Castle is back in time for the game
against the Lakers. It'd be great if we could get
all of Area fifty one back.
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
In uniform for that. You know, they're not going to
rush win before it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
No, and and that again they shouldn't. Yeah, it's it's
not that important.
Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
It's because they did run him out. He actually got
injured the game before, and they ran him out there
for the game after. What was it, I think it
was against the Warriors. The second game versus the Warriors
is when he got injured. Yeah, fell on his leg. Yeah,
but he suited up and played a little bit in
the next game. So I think they got a little
(01:09:08):
bit freaked out about that.
Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
And again, it's as much it's still at its core
is early in the regular season.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
So as much as we want that cup, we want
that trophy.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Yeah, and Wemby will be here for a decade. Plus
to make another run at the We're here for banners, baby, Okay,
Andy asked me today on the radio show. Do they
do any kind of river parade or any celebration whatsoever
if the Spurs win the NBA Cup.
Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Final We're in it for banners.
Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Do we go honking?
Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:09:45):
Okay, okay, if anyone wants to join me, it's time
to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
Alright, let's do some cow notes as we move along here,
Sure Market nine point fifteen. Let's get into it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
How are well?
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
How in the hell are we sitting here talking about
a three game win streak. The Raiders game I get,
love it, the Raiders game, I get. Eagles game I
kind of get because the Eagles haven't looked good. They
have a history of scuffling about this point in the season,
I thought.
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
You're going to split with the Eagles anyway, like.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Right, exactly, like after watching the first matchup and watching
how the Eagles have played since Week one, their record
is not.
Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
Doing like shell a shell. Like did they get rid
of offensive linemen or they just get a new They got.
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Newt new offensive coordinator, which is huge, asked Dan Campbell.
Speaker 1 (01:10:48):
Beaing an offensive coordinator. He got egged after that part
having a job is being investigated and the cops are
sitting there like we the ones who did it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Yeah, like yeah, well we'll get right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
It's like at the end, you're right on, And why
don't you worry about coaching the damn game.
Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
It's the end of Indiana Jones, where it's like, we
got our best people on it, don't worry getting put
on a shelf. I mean, this is the same city
where you had the guy a couple of years ago
talking about catching babies out of a burning apartment building.
He's like, yeah, we're catching babies by the dozen.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Good thing we weren't.
Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
We're not Agalore dropping balls like this Philly spectacular. In
another life, I would love to be a Philly fan,
but I agree. I think the split with Philly. You
could have talked me into it. What's the Thanksgiving game?
What's the reference there? Wes Los Preno. The Kansas City
game is uh. I I don't know what to do.
(01:11:48):
I don't know what to do with that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Because someone wasn't getting their calls.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
And someone was getting a lot of them. Yeah, on
the other side of.
Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
That, you saw you saw the little ig thing and
the we're putting that AI to good use, showing that
Dak Prestcott paid off the Revs and we will now
be supporting the Cowboys. Andy Reid and the Chiefs need
to be paying up more for us.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Look that Chiefs team, despite their record, Yeah, that's still
a top ten offense statistically. And the Cowboys' defense, we
know how bad they were for the first half of
the season. Over the last three games, they're top They're
the third best run defense in the entire NFL. They're
(01:12:33):
top ten in most defensive categories. Now granted there's somewhere
between like eight and ten in most of them.
Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
Your Achilles Healed, like with over shown back, you got
the speed, so the sweeps aren't working. You can actually
cover some crossing routes.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
Wes was giving you Glen Rose restaurants, That's what that was.
Good old Los Primos and Loco Coyote.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Mama Mia. Yeah, I was like, what is this reference? Now?
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
You're getting distracted?
Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
No, you your distraction got me distracted, not hungry Achilles Hill. No.
Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
Yeah, So the Achilles Heill for y'all has his secondary Because.
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
Can I interest you in Trayvon Diggs, who is apparently
going to play Thursday night, or is at least on
track super point. I want to lose, okay, and I
have the note I have right here, Stop with the
stop with the Do they even want him back? Nonsense?
Trayvon Diggs is still the third best secondary guy you
(01:13:34):
have on the roster, maybe second best behind Bland. I
would say Bland and Hooker I have more faith in
right now. But Shavon Ravels looked great started his first
game Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
But do you think dig could play a nickel? Do
you think he can? Like? He seems like such an out,
like an outside cornerback.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
So that's that would be that's the ideal. So Shotty
was asked, would you consider using him at safety as
a ball hawking h safety, and Shotty said no, not
mid season. Wouldn't ask him to try to do that
with Well, it would be like again, it would situation
purely yeah, purely zone safety over the top where you
(01:14:13):
wouldn't be putting him out there on running downs at all.
I completely agree that's not happening. But having him back
to play the outside more importantly means you can play
Deron Bland that is more comfortable natural slot inside Nickel.
We've saw Bland get exposed on the outside as he's
(01:14:34):
been asked to play that more with the digs injury,
with the other injuries they had in the secondary. To me,
there's there's got to be some understanding obviously on Digg's
part that kind of like Terrence Steele, who there was
a lot of chatter that people who were already you know,
(01:14:57):
getting the papers ready to cut him at the end
of the year. And he hasn't been great, but he's
been a lot better since over the you know, last.
Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
Guy like check yourself and then just get back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
And just bingo. That's exact ego. Check is the phrase
I'm looking for. There's some level where now Diggs was
throwing a pity party for himself when his buddy Micah
got traded. He was obviously not a believer in the
defensive scheme, which if I'm him, I probably would have
looked around and said, this guy was working at Chicken
(01:15:28):
Express last week and this guy nobody wanted and we
got there. We got him on a one year veteran
deal to be our starting middle linebacker. Like this defense
is ass why would I like, I'm not like full
Roger Dorn major League, like, I'm not jumping in front
of a ground ball. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
In my contract just says that I don't have to
do anything I feel unworthy.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
And I'm sorry it was Diggs, not the guy who
also said in my contract it says like if I
trained on my own but maintain certain levels, and they
were just like, no, we're finding you for not training
with with the team exactly. So if the ego check
is actually there, as I said, Diggs is your third
(01:16:13):
best player in the secondary, and it is the Achilles
Hill now with the reinforcements they have in the front seven,
if Diggs can come back and give them anything a
la Terrence Steele what he's given them at right tackle,
he's not gonna make's. It's probably last.
Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
The ball Hawks safety where they just he's out there
just playing like playing center field.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
Yeah, that's it. On passing downs and and eber Flusa's
heavy zone.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Scene and do you see him thinking that he gets
baited on a double move and then over the top,
because that's always been Diggs's for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
But I think the the trade off of his risk
rewards style versus having someone who's just fly less capable
physically less talented than him in the line like, I
love what I'm seeing from Chavon Revel, I love what
what I'm seeing from Kayln Carson, although now he's banged
up and fighting injury. You know, the the guys, the
(01:17:15):
guys that are on this roster, that are on rookie
deals playing cornerback for the Cowboys, are the guy like
Revel and Carson are gonna be your two that are
getting paired with Bland starting next year. This is Diggs
is last year.
Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
Your defense is definitely like I hate you know, I
don't want to bring up tragedy, but after the tragedy
that happened, sure, sure, like defense is ramped it up
after the bye week. You might have been obviously got
healthy on certain position.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
The tragedy and the seemingly the camaraderie built on that
side of the ball through tragedy, I think you're absolutely
onto something. But I think it's also kind of the
obvious answer in the room. They have six new starters
on defense that weren't there three weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
They were banged up for so long, giving.
Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
Now all of a sudden five game win streak or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
It is, and you've got Lamar. Lamar is playing ass.
You know, I think there is.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Two weeks ago, you know, obviously after the Raiders game,
and you see the signs that this defense could be
different moving forward to me, the mindset and you're gonna
love this, this typical cowboy. The mindset was Okay, the
rest of the season, We've now got an identity to
build around that, we've got a path to building a
(01:18:44):
contender for next year. Everything with next year being the
phrasing in my head, everything being geared toward next year,
toward developing the young guys. Yeah, like Digs, we don't
need you, don't come back, just stay on injured reserve.
(01:19:04):
The rest of the year, let's see the young guys play.
And then the Eagles game. Yeah, you beat a division,
you beat the team you're chasing in the division. I'm
telling myself, Okay, well, they don't own any of the
tie breakers in the wild card. The only way they're
gonna make the playoffs is if they somehow catch the
Eagles win the division.
Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
You know, it's gonna chap in your ass right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
Now that Carolina Panthers loss.
Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
No, the tie, the tie is going to be hard
because I could see the Eagles have the Chargers. That's
gonna be a game. The Raiders win, Commanders they play twice.
You know, jayde Daniel's gonna be back for one of them.
Mclaurin's gonna be there. I could see a split, and
(01:19:50):
then the Bills a loss.
Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
And we've seen I mean, the Comedies almost beat the
Well who is it Broncos or was it charge No,
it was Broncos. That was the game where they Sunday
Night almost came back and won that game. The Commanders
aren't playing bad football. They're just a bad football team
without Jaden Daniels.
Speaker 1 (01:20:11):
They have injuries abroad, but.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
You could convince me that they split with the Eagles. Yeah,
the way the Eagles have looked.
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
Then you got the Cowboys the Lions this week, which
I mean, y'all ride, I thought it was a coin
flip because you did just beat the Eagles and the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
Vegas agrees with you. It opened as a three and
a half point line in Detroit. It's been bet down
to an even three, which is going to be brutal
to pick.
Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
Oh that's the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Yeah, Cowboys have Eagles, then Vikings, then Chargers.
Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
And three and a half. So yeah, and then y'all
are favorite seven and a half against the Vikings for
obvious reasons. Sure, no quarterback. Then you got the Chargers
at home, and then the Commanders and those those damn.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
To close the year.
Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Yeah, so I could see y'all winning out, But y'all
just such a hole in That tie breaker is going
to kill y'all.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
See, the tie breaker is going to tie. I still
think the I still think the path for the Cowboys
into a playoff game is to win the division because
of all the tie breakers and relying on you know,
the Panthers beating the Rams like watching that, it's just like,
what the come on, I hate this the.
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Panthers, I told you, Yeah, the Panthers defense.
Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
I picked them. The one game they've lost over the
last like four is the one time I picked them
and it didn't work for me. It was against your Niners.
Speaker 1 (01:21:44):
Who was it again?
Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
Yea, against your who were holding on to the final playoff.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
Right now.
Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
I uh, I think the thinking now after that Eagles game, thinking, okay,
they can if the Eagles fall on their face like
they've done every other year for the last five years,
it's either Super Bowl or it's implode at the end
of the season and losing the first round. I thought
maybe the Cowboys could get back into the divisional race.
(01:22:17):
But you beat the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day in a
game where the Chiefs know it was just as much,
and Tony Romo reminded of us the whole damn game.
Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
Oh, this is the.
Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
Playoff game, Jym to win playoffs going down to a
fifty chance. Both these teams need it and there's one
hundred percent chance one of them gets a gym. He's
so bad now, he's so bad. But watching the Cowboys
beat a Pat Mahomes led Chiefs team that needed that
(01:22:51):
game just as much as the Cowboys did, that's the
one we're final. I'm not again, this is not the
march to the playoffs, but you just rattled through it.
How many of the games they're probably Are they favored
against the Chargers? Yeah, if it's a home game it's
in Dallas, will they be favored, especially if they roll
off wins over Chargers react.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
I mean, we don't know which Charger team We're gonna
get it right any given week, you know, But now
they still have their three main receivers healthy. Quinn Johnson
Keenan Allen and Lad McConkie. They actually showed up. Quinn
Johnson came back and showed up last week. So Lad McConkie,
they're getting their rookie running back back, the Goldsen guy
(01:23:38):
that the rookie fifth round pick, fifth round pick. He's
shown out to be a top ten tight end in
the league.
Speaker 2 (01:23:46):
Oh, there's a scenario where the Chargers beat both the
Eagles and the Cowboys over the stretch, and there's also
a scenario where they dropped both games. Like I don't,
I have no idea what to expect, but all that
being said, there is at least some level of path
now for the Cowboys. When we before the Raiders game.
(01:24:08):
Before the Raiders game, it was a three a three
chance to make the playoffs. After the Eagles game, there
was a nine chance to make the playoffs. Now, after
this Chiefs game, Cowboys have a one in five chance
to make the playoffs. It's about twenty percent.
Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
If you guys did not have that tie and you
actually won that game. And I wish I could don't
remember fully, but I think there was some decisions where
y'all were playing.
Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
For the tie very much so because at the time,
You're like.
Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
I don't want to pressure it, you know, I don't
want to go forward for fourth down on the forty
in their territory. You know, let's just kick the ball
knowing there's two minutes left.
Speaker 2 (01:24:51):
And we also, you had no faith in your defense whatsoever.
I mean that tie was a forty to forty game
coming off the heels of the week before. It was
a forty to thirty seven overtime victory where you had
to rely on Brandon.
Speaker 1 (01:25:06):
Aubrey, your boy lamb like two games ago against the Eagles,
just dropping balls like's.
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
Nothing like a galore god man.
Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
Yeah, save the baby.
Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
Nice bounce back, Yeah, nice bounce back on Thanksgiving. But
you there is at least for the Cowboys fan that
wants to not be as nihilistic as I am.
Speaker 1 (01:25:27):
Start to see the bars getting a little bit more
filled during Cowboys games. Y'all aarn hiding, y'all aren hiding.
So but you got to be there when you lose,
to celebrate when you win. This is what pisses me off.
Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
The Lions.
Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
You always see me there. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Oh oh yeah, you're gonna take it one way.
Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
There's somebody to take it during the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
There's some of you that you never want your team
to lose. Yeah, but I kind of feel like you
might enjoy it every once in a while where you
do get some of those some of the no, you
get some of that hostility going towards somebody who wants
to give you hell over Niners.
Speaker 1 (01:26:07):
The regular seasons, Ravens almost beat up the owner of
this bar, like we're good friends. Now. He actually gave
us the Costa Rica hat. Yes, yeah, so yeah that
he almost got his ass. Who get in my face?
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Well, speaking of your Niners, they are the last team
out of the playoffs right now as we sit, amazing
at nine and four, the last team in the playoffs.
The Lions are the first team out of the playoffs
at seven and five. And then, as you said, the
tie is the Funky Cowboys are second out of the
(01:26:44):
playoffs behind the Lions at six five and one. And
the worst part about all of this LG fire this
thing up. The worst part about all of the Cowboys
hope returning at to varying levels among the fan base.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
That you're gonna bring up the guy you're not supposed
to be bringing up.
Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
That's correct, and he gets to take all of the
credit for George Pickens having the second most receiving yards
in the NFL. I traded him, I traded for I
knew exactly what he'd give us for trading for Quinn Williams.
And the combination of Quinn Williams, Kenny Clark and Osa
being a five man front that now is having Eagles
(01:27:28):
players being like, yeah, we didn't know what to do
with that. We didn't expect them to have that kind
of ability against us, or to run that kind of
front against us. The biggest problem in all of this
is that as things start to turn back for the good,
this is the kind of crap you have to put
up with in the post game scrum after the Chiefs
(01:27:50):
win on Thing or after the win over the Chiefs
on Thanksgiving. I got even holding it like it's the
super Bowl trophy.
Speaker 1 (01:28:03):
You guys have a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
Of course, really I do more say it, John, last episode,
A lot of great times.
Speaker 1 (01:28:11):
What a graade win one basket to day?
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
So what Thanksgiving we have about this punch?
Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
I don't think I've ever been at all. I'm gonna
appreciate my.
Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
Game. That's what we have to deal with. Jerry.
Speaker 1 (01:28:30):
You know that's a perfect time to say, how about
them cowboys? But you know who said it first.
Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
Jerry walking out of the locker room after a big
Thanksgiving victory with a turkey leg in hand, a giant
cheshire Cat grin on his face, talking about holding it
like it's a super Bowl trophy. Sorry, it's actually not
that bad. This turkey is pretty good. But all jokes aside,
(01:28:56):
I've never seen a more appreciative locker room than the
one in there, right, I got the turk, that's the
worst part about all of it.
Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
And you know they had that turkey leg just ready,
like all right, Jerry, here's your turkey leg walking there
with it.
Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Of course, it's all performative.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
It's all performance.
Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
It's all performative. But all that being said, just win baby,
keep the hope alive for another week. Let's get into
the main Suggie here.
Speaker 1 (01:29:23):
You don't want to go uh niners minute?
Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
Oh I thought you were gonna tell me to market
Margaret nine five is uh no, we will. We'll start
with the niners.
Speaker 1 (01:29:35):
I know you all love this. Get ready to throw
your phones against the wall.
Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
What is there to talk about in a twenty six
to eight victory over the Cleveland Browns. What is there
to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:29:45):
The Cleveland Browns that the week before the Madman himself,
Miles Garrett, rattled off four sacks. Looked like a defense
that was could not be beaten.
Speaker 2 (01:29:57):
Who has slowed down?
Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
They have the number one defense and it's scored again.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
It's great.
Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
It went up a little bit because of the Niners.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
But it's not like they're it's not like they're Tampa
Bay buccaneer Super Bowl winning.
Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Mister is gonna be the sack leader by the end
of this season.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Brian Johnson just has to take a snap and meal
and they'll win the game.
Speaker 1 (01:30:20):
So speaking of getting healthy, we are getting healthy. And
even though we have all the Brandon Eyu drama.
Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
Yeah, explain, I wanted to ask you about that.
Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
I have just quit on us.
Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
It kind of feels that way.
Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
Right in the beginning, he was like he was showing
up working on the sideline, and now the last month
he hasn't been going to team meetings, he's not going
looking at films.
Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
So that's why they that's why they avoided the.
Speaker 1 (01:30:44):
They avoided his contract at the beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Oh, it just leaked out.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
It just leaked out now because he wasn't going to
like during the practice, Like that's why I think he
was trying to make a comeback. And Shanahan's still the
positive spin. We still would love him back, Like, yes,
we would still love them back because we got Jawn Jennings.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Just it's a bit of a Trayvon Digg situation.
Speaker 1 (01:31:11):
Yeah, yeah, it is. And he he could have been
you know what the crazy part is, he would have
got more money. I think he would have got thirty
five million year and he would have been in the
tenth the eleven and two New England Patriots, but he
rejected that contract. That's you know, he could have been
(01:31:33):
with the eleven and two, the best record in the league,
New England Patriots, but he decided to stick with the
Niners and then give up on us after a horrific
knee injury all three all three ligaments broken. How old
is He's not young? It's twenty seven, I believe, is
that it? Yeah, because he was four years in got
(01:31:54):
on twenty two.
Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
Oh yeah, it doesn't turn twenty eight until the offseason. Yeah,
he's still a young twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
Cut him after July first or it was June first
or July first, we cut him. We Gary got twenty
million dollars guarantee, twenty five million dollars in guaranteed money back.
We're gonna save twenty two million dollars on cap each
year with pearsall. Now, we can give us a little
(01:32:22):
bit of that money. Juwan Jennings seems like the Draymond
Green of the league right now. Yeah, getting punched in the.
Speaker 2 (01:32:28):
Nuts, a lot of a lot of scuffles.
Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Yeah, and then you got Cleveland Browns. He says stuff
that just you know, you don't say to other men.
It's like, it's like when you call another man a bitch.
I'm like, this is in jail, bro. Like I'm like,
don't act like that's the most you can't say that.
That's we were fighting on site. I'm like, calm down, bitch,
Yeah that's what I say. I was like this, I
was like, this isn't sixty days in get out of here.
(01:32:53):
But I guess he's saying a little something more personal
because you had like three different people.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
One Browns players suggesting.
Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
He's always dude. He's He got voted the most hated
player in the league last year.
Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
Like, that's pretty hard to do when you're a spare
Like that.
Speaker 1 (01:33:11):
Is it the third and third and one? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
Solid, he's solid for what for the role?
Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
He's very I mean he's not the fastest obviously you
see him dropping the ball, not the best route, but
he's physical. He will get his nose in there and
he does take cheap shots. But if the reps aren't looking,
is it is it cheap? Is it cheap to get
in someone's head? You know?
Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
I mean if it works, what what's the trade off?
Speaker 1 (01:33:35):
That's always been the Niners mentality. We want out physically,
you know you once you leave the Niners game, you're
gonna feel it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
You know who else? So looking at the Ayuk situation,
it's John Lynch earlier today seemingly pretty much just came
out and said, yeah, it's not realistic for him to
play this year. Yeah, it's Ayuk's done.
Speaker 1 (01:33:55):
He's done, And I mean, what's.
Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
The Obviously Bosa and Warner aren't coming back.
Speaker 1 (01:34:02):
Warner has a shot if you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
Get a deep playoff run, but thinking like you're holding
on to the last playoff spot right now, Warner is
not helping in the regular season.
Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
Who's the one who's actually injured right now, and we're
still winning with our third string middle linebacker, our second stringer.
He is becoming a bathune. He's becoming a breakout. He
was leading the league in tackles in like four games
that he played, like before he got hurt, he was
(01:34:32):
leading the league in tackles. He like, our defense has
become the Niners d again. You know, I know we
have been playing scrubs the Cleveland, but Shodeerra Sanders did
have a good game. They were coming off a good bigaer.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
You never apologize for wins in this league. Yeah, so
this is not like playing Kentucky or Mississippi State in
the SS like, it's we've still grown men playing football
professional be Carolina.
Speaker 1 (01:34:58):
That was hot as we can see because they just
beat the hottest team in the league in the Rams.
We beating the Rams at home. Yeah, they blew us
out at our house. But they were clicking on all
cylinders and we were down again. You know, with Mac
Jones backup. This is why we have Brock Purty because
even Miles Garrett, I wish, I don't know if I
(01:35:20):
saved it, he quoted saying Brock Purdy like he doesn't
do anything crazy special, but he has the feel. He
knows when to step up. He kind of he feels
the pressure, he knows when to get rid of the ball,
and then he'll slip out of there. Kind of Patrick
Mahomes stylish where it's just like man like, how do
(01:35:42):
he run and get the seven yards he needed and stuff,
and like that's that's what he brings to the table.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Yeah, it's a calming presence to the offense. Now, granted,
when he's throwing fifteen yards downfield and has three first
half interceptions, that's when there's some level of concern.
Speaker 1 (01:35:58):
Now those three interceptions, Okay, let's let's go. Let's let's
hear it. Matthew Stafford had two interceptions that were horrible. Right,
then we had what Patrick Mahomes with two interceptions. He
had a bad gang and then two of those two
of those passes or it's just a little off the mark,
there was the right read, the right throw.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
Yeah, he wasn't missing by much.
Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
Kurt Warner even came out and said he throws like me.
He throws with touch, and when you throw with touch,
you tend to get more interceptions because if you miss
the spot by a little bit. It's easier to catch
the ball, just so you got the brickhanded cornerbacks because
you'd be playing receiver. If you're not playing, that's such
a te you know. But it's easier for them to
(01:36:42):
catch it because he's throwing a nice ball with touch
on it.
Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
I think there's I've never thought about it. It's like
I'm going to like rocket it right into your ear.
I do think there's that now that you say, that
is a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
It's all touch.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
It's a lot. Kurt Warner though, like you said, like
obviously has way better wheels, way better mobility.
Speaker 1 (01:37:02):
He throws it into like in between like zone triple covers.
I'm like, what are you doing? Then I'm like, oh
my god, that was the greatest pass.
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
It's like Kurt Warner on the Cardinals, Kurt Warner like
later in his career where it was because like Kurt
Warner on the Rams was firing the hell out of
some of those pass.
Speaker 1 (01:37:17):
Kurt Warner had a stronger arm for sure. And still
but we don't have that down the field that Yeah,
we don't have that down the field threat at the moment,
which you know Piersoll was it. But I think he's
still playing a little injured right now. I mean he's yeah,
he's out there. But week thirteen, when we got one
Christian McCaffrey, who's about to set a record once again.
(01:37:40):
Who's leading the NFL in catches right now?
Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Jackson Smith and Jigba no George picking one.
Speaker 1 (01:37:50):
Increased Christian McCaffrey. He has almost he almost has almost
ninety catches. I think he's like an eighty eight.
Speaker 2 (01:37:57):
Hey, here's you another trope stereotype because his dad was
ed McCaffery to be a running herd of wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (01:38:05):
And the old he takes it so personal, saying he
can't run it through the middle, so he goes hard.
Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
And heard a lot of that going talking about Niners
not having a deep threat. I wanted to pull up
the full quote because I hadn't read it. I had
only heard it talking about Juan Jennings and it was
Cameron Justice or no, Cameron Justice had the report. It
was Shelby Harris. This was his exact quote talking after
(01:38:35):
the Browns after Niners went over the Browns. Quote, he's
a hoe and I want that known, Harris said, quote,
like I see why he got punched in the nuts
because he said some things that you should not say
to another man ever, But like, I don't respect it
because you say that, then run behind your O line.
(01:38:57):
That's some real soft s and I want that known.
I see exactly why they punched him in the nuts.
I'm surprised nobody's punched him in the jaw yet. This
on the same week that it's the anniversary of the
Courtland Sutton or not Courtland Finnegan Andre Johnson. Really, that's
what That's what I immediately thought of when I started
(01:39:20):
back to back weeks. Juwan Jennys, is.
Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
This salty a little wine for that song?
Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
Physical wide Receivers, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:39:28):
Heine's Ward was never liked. No Hall of Famer.
Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
A lot of crackback blocks, yeah, before they were illegal.
Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
Yeah. So, I mean christ McCaffrey's having the standout year now.
I would put him ahead of Jonathan Taylor at the
moment because he's had two games, two or three games
that just like he's falling, he's not putting up the numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
And the problem is with both of those guys. If
you're talking anywhere related to like MVP, it's gonna go
to a Stafford too.
Speaker 1 (01:39:58):
I'm not off into the player of the year. That's
the anybody else but a quarterback. Yeah, Stafford. He doubled
his uh interceptions in one game against the Carolina Panthers,
who picked off brock Perty three times. Two of those
right Reid missed the point by a little bit. They
(01:40:18):
jumped the gun. They good catches touch the other interception,
no one would have saw a cornerback running all the
way across the field to go pick that ball.
Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
No, that was an amazing read horn.
Speaker 1 (01:40:31):
They know like nothing's coming my way, Let me this way.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
I had no underneath responsibility. Covered two three.
Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
Aikman's been real critical on Party and like there's been
stuff like where like dan Or dan Orlosky and Troy
Aikman have gotten into it where it's like, are you
watching the same game I am. He's like, are you
kidding me? Because he was like that was a bad
game for brock Party, And he's like, he's talking brother.
Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
If you're telling me you trust dan Orlofsky's quarterback knowledge
over Troy Aikman's, I think you've already lost the argument.
Speaker 1 (01:41:07):
Spurs win.
Speaker 2 (01:41:10):
Very nice.
Speaker 1 (01:41:11):
That's a good segue. No more Niners talk. Yes, I
am biased. It's my team.
Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
So are you ready? So the people, so that the
people know that aren't following the Niners as closely as
you are, we don't have to hear any Niners talk
next week.
Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
I know. Hey, we get our buy in week fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
So weird, so weird bye in week fourteen.
Speaker 1 (01:41:36):
You know what that killing is? Because this is the
last week of fantasy football? Right, All those managers that
are on the CUSP, they don't like their number one.
Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
Like a certain Niners fan.
Speaker 1 (01:41:46):
I know, I'm not on the cusp.
Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
There's only four teams that make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:41:50):
Bubba, it's sixteens. I changed it, Gillman changed because I
always said it was six.
Speaker 2 (01:41:57):
Well, we'll discuss the ethics of that and the lightning
round here coming up. Uh. But that also means we
don't have a Niners game to pick. No next week.
Speaker 1 (01:42:07):
We are definitely picking the four best games like that.
Speaker 2 (01:42:11):
So what we'll do picks wise, since we don't have
to pick the we don't the only game we have
to Saturdays?
Speaker 1 (01:42:17):
Yet?
Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Are they not championship? Yeah, they'll start. They are gonna
the NFL is going to go up against playoff college
football playoff games later in the year, I think December
nineteenth or the twentieth, strategically plays them different times. They
announced the times, and they are not. They're going head
to head. Yeah, I know. The NFL sucks.
Speaker 1 (01:42:39):
That's when you get the ac American League.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Get ready for Virginia versus Ole Miss.
Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Yeah, we'll talk a little college football and the lightning
round too. We got to burn through the rest of
the league. We do have to get a pick for
the Cowboys on the record tonight, though, because.
Speaker 1 (01:43:00):
I'll me go ahead and just review the picks that
we had two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
Okay, let's go back. Oh weird, I I guess I
don't have there.
Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
In there there.
Speaker 2 (01:43:12):
Okay, here I was leading eighteen to seventeen overall.
Speaker 1 (01:43:15):
That was a good week.
Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
Yeah, did great. There, let's see. Oh no, here, we're
tied twenty to twenty overall that week. Yeah yeah, and
then it looks like you went you won the last
two weeks for two against me. So as it sits tonight,
you have a twenty eight to twenty four overall lead.
(01:43:39):
The last picks we had.
Speaker 1 (01:43:40):
Three point five spread.
Speaker 2 (01:43:41):
The Cowboys are the only reason I'm even close. I
picked the Cowboys over the Eagles. You missed that one.
I picked them over the Niners. These are two weeks ago,
and you got that one, and then the rest of
that week fell the way it did. You have opened
up a four game lead over me. What we're at
the point now where we're gonna have to start doing
(01:44:06):
whoever has the overall lead picks first, so that the
person trailing has the opportunity to fade if they want to,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
So we didn't do that when I was trailing.
Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
Oh that's what we're getting to the back of that
was week six. It was a week seven. We're not.
But I was gonna say, I think we should still.
I make my Cowboy pick first, and you make your
Niner pick first, but the rest of the picks, whoever's
leading goes first. Okay, so we have Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
Let's let's run through the games. Who won? You want
to do the.
Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Rest of that before we make a pick at the end. Okay,
last week other games on Thanksgiving. So looking at normally,
of course, are four categories contenders, playoffs, fringe, and ass
We're starting to really eliminate some teams like the Dolphins,
(01:45:02):
the Saints, the Jets, and the Falcons. Yes, those are
all your ass games last week. None of those teams
are climbing out of fringe at best. You get what
I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
The Cleveland, I don't know if you say Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (01:45:16):
Well, the only reason they weren't there is because they
played Commanders Niners in the playoff bracket. So the I'm like,
if you have won five games, you're nas We've been saying,
what determines who gets to go in the contender category
is any team that is under plus one thousand odds
(01:45:38):
to win the Super Bowl. Most of the year, despite
the record, the Chiefs still had the best odds until
three weeks ago. They are now fully dropped out. They're
not even in the ore contender category whatsoever. They're only
(01:45:59):
fourteen teams that qualify. Currently, only four teams that have
less than plus one thousand or less odds will work backwards.
So right on the line, the Bills are at plus
one thousand, the Eagles plus nine point fifty, the Packers
plus nine hundred, and then the Seahawks plus eight fifty.
(01:46:23):
Your teams with the four best odds to win the
Super Bowl are all NFC teams. The Bills are the
first AFC team. Patriots are right behind the Bills at
plus eleven hundred. But I give you all of those
numbers to show you how much of a gap Vegas
believes the Los Angeles Rams versus everybody else's.
Speaker 1 (01:46:49):
They're still high on the Rams.
Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
The Seahawks have the second best odds at plus eight
fifty and the gap.
Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
So it goes NFC West two times.
Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
That's correct. The Rams are plus four ninety. Vegas is
telling you there's almost twice as good a chance the
Rams win the Super Bowl than any other team in
the league.
Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
Yeah, favor I want to be an underdog when we
take them out in their house.
Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
I'm still not I I don't I don't know this year.
I understand the Rams have looked great, but there's still
a lot of NFC West games to be played.
Speaker 1 (01:47:28):
But you also got to look at the week schedule
and stuff. But like when he gets the playoffs, you're
gonna start playing good teams right and good defenses. And
you saw what happens whenever you can sit there and
apply the run good defense. They controlled the game. The
Panthers at like they only were up at the end
(01:47:49):
of the game before the Panthers came down with the
game winning uh, game winning drive.
Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
Yeah right there at the end. Yeah yeah, So those
are that's our coright for contenders, Rams being the biggest
contender in Vegas's eyes, but elsewhere in the contenderate category.
Thanksgiving game, Packers end up beating the Lions thirty one
twenty four. Lions continue their tailspin. Dan Campbell is two
(01:48:17):
and two now since taking over play calling duties, and
all of a sudden, this Lions Cowboys game.
Speaker 1 (01:48:23):
Is it's big, it's huge.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Which unexpectedly, if you had told me three weeks ago,
the Lions would be out of the playoffs, the Bears
would be the number one seed in the NFC, and
the Cowboys would be the team that is right behind
the Lions in the standings.
Speaker 1 (01:48:42):
Insane.
Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
This league moves so fast, and this week, like every
week left on the schedule, it's going to really determine
where these teams end up come season end. Speaking of
the Bears, Black Friday game, impressive again from Ben Johnson,
(01:49:03):
my Madden Franchise cohort. Bears beat the Eagles twenty four
to fourteen. My gut wants to say that game is
more about the Eagle struggles. But at some point you've
got to credit the one seed Bears, who would have
a first round by right now if the playoffs star.
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
I credit their running game, man, the physicality they hit
on that what was it fifth or sixth round with my.
Speaker 2 (01:49:29):
Home say it fast. So I practiced. I made Johnny
something like that, because I made the roommate.
Speaker 1 (01:49:38):
The mayor of New York City.
Speaker 2 (01:49:40):
We were, oh, yeah, I might be getting that confused
with zoron No, because that's how I was. It's something similar, Yeah,
because I was practicing it because it feels like.
Speaker 1 (01:49:53):
We need to know Swift is, we need.
Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
To know his name, how to pronounce it.
Speaker 1 (01:49:57):
At this point, Swift definitely he's he's resurgence. He's pissed
that he you know, he was pissed when he got
kicked off the Eagles because he had a good season
with him and then they're like, now we're gonna go
with a shiny new toy and they won the Super Bowl.
So I think this year motivated him. And then I
think at practice he probably saw Johnny's like skilled, like
(01:50:17):
speed and physicality, and he's like, man, I gotta keep
my job.
Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
Yeah, And even then Monan Manong Guy, Manung Guy, Guynung Guy.
That's Manung Guy. Yeah, because I've been I was walking
around the house just going Manung Guy guy. That was like,
You've got to freaking stop. You're driving me crazy. I
(01:50:43):
was like, no, I've got to get this. I can't
screw this up exactly. I do still think the Eagles,
I want to still say, are a better football team
in the long run in terms of contender stab.
Speaker 1 (01:51:00):
This is like, who do you trust Jalen and Jalen
in with the AJ Brown emerging again and DeVante Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
But an offensive coordinator who's getting his house egged, yeah, versus.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
He might not have a job if he loses this game.
Speaker 2 (01:51:17):
I think the ice is as thin as possible. I mean,
we talked about this too when we were making our
divisional picks back during training camp or preseason. And the
Eagles losing both coordinators is a are the Lions losing
both coordinators with Ben Johnson going to Chicago, Aaron Glenn.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Going to that big of a difference.
Speaker 2 (01:51:42):
But Eagles losing Kellen Moore. We've seen this Eagles offense,
I mentioned every other year they sputter down the stretch.
That's because every other year they've been having to replace
their offensive coordinator. Yeah, and there's clearly disconnect among the
offensive side of the ball in Philly.
Speaker 1 (01:52:00):
Something. But like a good coach, like a good head coach,
just like Shanahan, we have to replace our offensive coordinator
and our defensive coordinator almost every other year because we
still do good and he they all they do is
learn all this gold from Shanahan, especially the offensive.
Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
Coordinator, and spin it into a promotion. Yeah, do you
how much, Leeway? I mean, how much? How long does
Sirianni get to keep saying, well, it's because our coordinators
keep getting poached. He gets he gets a pass this year,
this every other year business though eventually other year, of
(01:52:40):
course I would, but not mouth breathing Philly fans. They
eat horse crap at the Super Bowl parade like that.
I didn't just make that up. That's video proof.
Speaker 1 (01:52:51):
And when you get the cops egg in the house,
I still think it was the cops right, probably not
probably living in a gated neighborhood, how they get in there?
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
Back the blue neighbors just get out and be like
not the Kelly Green back the blue instead you mentioned,
oh you got something else.
Speaker 1 (01:53:09):
Oh No, I was looking at the games for next week,
and I think I got the ones we got.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
Well, we got time to do those. We got to
burn through these. You mentioned the Panthers come back over
the Rams. I don't think we really need to say
a whole lot else. That feels like a flukish like.
I don't think watching that game, you could say, oh,
I see cracks in the Rams armor. That's just one
of those weird like the Panthers aren't a bad team.
Speaker 1 (01:53:35):
The Stafford has always been known to make a couple
bad passes a game, yep. And if you can capitalize
on those, you got a chance. So that's that's getting
in his head. I guarantee you we'll see next week
if it there's like comes to fruition, but the interceptions
are going to go up if he doesn't get it
(01:53:57):
straightened out, you know, off the.
Speaker 2 (01:53:58):
Top of your head.
Speaker 1 (01:53:59):
Rams.
Speaker 2 (01:53:59):
Upon next week, I'm looking out. It's Cardinals. Yeah, I
mean I can see you there.
Speaker 1 (01:54:05):
I can see but a Baker grabbing one, you know. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
I could also see Stafford returning to the MVP front
runner that he was before, Like.
Speaker 1 (01:54:13):
The Cardinals if they just their injury prone on defense,
They've drafted nothing but defenders except for Marvin Harrison Junior
in the first round for the past four years.
Speaker 2 (01:54:22):
And they haven't really hit on any game. True great
game wreckers. They got they got good guy, they got
good talent, but there's not he.
Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
Wears a single digit. Man, he's like kind of he
was like a three four three four guy who would
go on the defensive end, but more of a linebacker,
kind of like a Parsons. I forget his name. They
got him like two years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:54:42):
Yeah, man, I uh, you know, I can see it
in my head. Yeah, but he's he's he's injured.
Speaker 1 (01:54:47):
He's been injured, so he's been in and out. But
I said the Rams should easily handle per set. You know.
Speaker 2 (01:54:55):
Elsewhere in the contender, Seahawks smoke the Bikes. Bikes don't
have a quarterback that whole Like, you have to watch
Sam Donald go up against you as you're basically the
same team as you were last year except for Sam Donald.
Speaker 1 (01:55:11):
And did they twenty six to nothing? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
Yeah, it's a rough time for Vikes fans. Seahawks continue
to show the last.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
Game of the year, we're coming for the division. We're
like the Niners coming for the division we have, Like
if we beat the Seahawks and the Rams stumble one
more game, Oh, I think we're gonna see division. I
think we're gonna because we're going to be for and one.
Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
The NFC West as it sits right now is not
how I don't think that's how it ends. By season's end, whether.
Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
We play Seattle last game of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
There's some there's some really salty final week matchups across
the league where you're gonna see potentially play play at
the end. It sounds right. We were looking at some
of these last time we were in the room. Bill's
beat the Steelers twenty six to seven. Is Tomlin finally
ready to be like I don't want any I don't
(01:56:17):
want any more of this every year where we're either
we're the last team in the playoffs, where I'm dealing
with Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields as my Mason
Rudolph as my quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:56:30):
He's been dealing with it for four years, four or
five years.
Speaker 2 (01:56:33):
But does he want to stick around for the full
rebuild that needs to happen on the offensive side of
the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:56:38):
If there's anybody that can convince him, it's Pittsburgh because
sure they keep their coaches until they retire.
Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
Yeah, what I mean. I was talking about it with
Andy on the show today. Another cliche stat you've heard,
but you can't hear it enough because it's insane. Chuck Nole,
Bill Cower and Mike Tomlin. That's it since nineteen sixty nine.
That's it. It's insane off category.
Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
Max Jones is available for a first rounder.
Speaker 2 (01:57:03):
He ain't getting a first rounder for that. Come on,
Niners over the Browns. Jags beat the Titans. Nothing to
break down there, Titans might be Yeah, it might be
picking one again. Huge win for the Texans over the Colts.
Colts finally showing that they are dropping back down.
Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
To Did you watch that game?
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:57:25):
Egregious calls. Egregious calls. Poor Colts fans. Oh, come on,
come on, man, egregious calls. And that's all I'm gonna
leave it at. Look, not a PI.
Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
Not every officiating crew in the league is equal. There
are some that are better than others. And sometimes you
hit the short end of the set.
Speaker 1 (01:57:47):
Sometimes you got to look at the board and be like,
I really screwed up on that one. Yeah, you know,
I mean let me give them a makeup call. No,
no another one passive Ever's offense. Like god, man, they
just they they rose, They rose to the occasion. They
definitely gave him the Chiefs treatment.
Speaker 2 (01:58:07):
Yeah. The Texans now, I believe. Yeah, first team out
of the playoffs. On the AFC side of things, c J.
Stroud being back is obviously what changes everything for them.
They were able to rely on the defense with Davis
Mills win games.
Speaker 1 (01:58:22):
The emergence of Will Marx.
Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
Yeah yeah, Bucks over the cards closer than it should
have been, but Buccaneers maintain pace in their own division.
Race is not himself right now, that whole Buccaneers team is.
I've said I was riding high on them earlier in
the season in our picks, But the last three weeks
(01:58:45):
they've burned me and and they've been it's been Baker
plus points and I that was hitting like crazy. Even
when they lost the game, they covered the spread.
Speaker 1 (01:58:54):
Dropping balls. He's playing like a rookie, you know, he
finally Yeah, And I think it's the burnout. This is
the rookie burnout in my opinion. They're not used to
these long games and their bodies wearing down. They're mentally fatigue.
Speaker 2 (01:59:09):
They also haven't had a run game.
Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
Until Buck Irving came back finally.
Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
Lean on like they had early in the year. Chargers
beat the Raiders as expected. Chargers again. I think they'll.
Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
Beat the teams that are beautiful, and the teams are
not they'll blow them out or get blown out.
Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
I think the Chargers might be there either way, so
to speak. That's the end of our Chargers analysis. Broncos
barely survived the Commanders and that Sunday night overtime game.
Commanders the Broncos going for two, tried to win his
team in the league, great pressure defense. Outside of that,
(01:59:52):
a lot of questions, a lot of questions. Are the
Patriots who do you have more faith in? Right now?
Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
Now?
Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
In the AFC? The Bills are the Patriots. You still
gotta say Bills because of Josh Allen right or is
Drake May they are?
Speaker 1 (02:00:07):
They are decimated on defense, and Mike Vrabel is showing
once again the elite coaching he is because he took
the Tennessee Titans to the playoffs multiple.
Speaker 2 (02:00:20):
Times with Tannahill with a former receiver, a former Aggie
receiver turn quarterback, you know, and that was a playoff
starting quarterback. Yeah, the Vrabel thing.
Speaker 1 (02:00:33):
Again.
Speaker 2 (02:00:33):
As as happy as I've been with Shoddy and the
Cowboys all year, it still absolutely burns my ass that
guys like Ben Johnson Vrabel never even got interviews with
Dallas because immediately, like right, they're going to take control
Lane Kiffin signing the deal at LSU. Lan Kiffin makes
at at minimum three times more a year than Shoty
(02:00:57):
does as the Cowboys head. Should not be that. It's
the great illusion, even though hit Gloryhole, it's the great illusion.
Speaker 1 (02:01:06):
Another twenty billion coming to him.
Speaker 2 (02:01:08):
It's the great illusion he's pulled off for all these decades. Yeah,
Pat's beat the Giants thirty three fifteen last night in
a very boring Monday night game.
Speaker 1 (02:01:19):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:01:19):
And then the Fringe Cows over Chiefs. Chiefs are in
the fringe category now and the Cows have moved up
to the fringe category. That tells you how weird that
game was. For other reasons, I don't know, the two
have just moved closer towards that right line between playoffs
(02:01:39):
and fringe.
Speaker 1 (02:01:40):
They're both like but three out of the the playoffs
the last playoff season.
Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
Again, that tie with the Cowboys. I think makes it
like one and a half out of the division, two
and a half behind y'all.
Speaker 1 (02:01:53):
And half out of the Division two and a half.
Speaker 2 (02:01:55):
Out of the division one and a half behind y'all.
Speaker 1 (02:01:57):
In the we got nine wins four Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02:01):
But the Cowboys only have five losses and the tie, so.
Speaker 1 (02:02:05):
That half game basically count as a loss. Right it
doesn't help them? Then help them?
Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
How about the Ravens disappointing showing on Lamar?
Speaker 1 (02:02:14):
Dude, Like what, I don't get him? I think he
needs I know he's never gonna get it, but he
might need to change of scenery. Like he's never been
a wide receiver thrower. Z Flowers is good.
Speaker 2 (02:02:31):
Also, never had a true game changing number one wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (02:02:35):
I think z Flowers can be Like, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
But Zay's nowhere. Like, Cowboys have two wide receivers better
than any guy Lamar has had at.
Speaker 1 (02:02:43):
Any point of his career.
Speaker 2 (02:02:45):
CD and Pickens are better than any wide receiver Lamar's
played with.
Speaker 1 (02:02:48):
If it wasn't for Lamar, the tight ends are good, though,
if it wasn't for Lamar Jackson in that pick, that
thirty second or thirty first pick of the draft, do
you think they would be like the Browns, good defense,
horrible offense.
Speaker 2 (02:03:05):
I mean they'd certainly be closer to it.
Speaker 1 (02:03:06):
That's how they won their last Super Bowl. Yeah, I
mean they would certainly be Delph Dilpher as the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:03:13):
Well and uh no it was Flacco, my bad. Yeah,
Flacco most recently. But going back to those uh what
Jamal lewis you know, just pounding the ball, running with
the heavy defense that would before ray Rice, before Ray
Rice did football at a non football time. Yeah, let
(02:03:35):
the record show this guy.
Speaker 1 (02:03:38):
Uh feminist? Yes, yes, some things you should never tell
a man.
Speaker 2 (02:03:42):
Yeah, I want him to know he he a hoe,
and I want him to know.
Speaker 1 (02:03:46):
She said something she's never tell a man.
Speaker 2 (02:03:48):
Dolphins, Saints, Jets, Falcons ass Wrapping up NFL Week thirteen,
moving into Week fourteen. We're gonna do some kind of
show before the full NFL schedule this weekend. Whether it's
the Cowboys watch Along Thursday, if my equipment still works,
that the hells, or if it's something we record where
(02:04:10):
we just do our picks and get them on the record.
But we gotta do the Cowboys pick before we go
to lightning round here, because we have will not have
a chance to do a show before they kick off
Thursday night. No matter what we do.
Speaker 1 (02:04:25):
Two Thursdays in a row.
Speaker 2 (02:04:27):
It's like, God, can I tell you something?
Speaker 1 (02:04:31):
The h.
Speaker 2 (02:04:33):
Being able to watch NFL Sunday without the existential dread
of a Cowboys game hanging over there. You don't have dread,
you have hope, Buddy. I am a German philosopher inside here.
I have nothing but nihilism and despair in my future,
(02:04:53):
no matter what multiverse out come. That's correct, because all
that life is is death. That is it. That's how
that's how I view it, And especially when it comes
to the Cowboys. But they only played one Sunday game
in the entire month. Yeah, like if you like a
four week stretch. Once it was the game against the Eagles.
(02:05:17):
Everything else has been Monday or Thursday night, and no,
it was it was it was the afternoon window. So yeah,
I've been I've been enjoying the hell out of these
Cowboys free Sundays. Uh. And we get another one this week,
of course, Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (02:05:33):
So what you're thinking, You're going against the mighty mighty
type Lions.
Speaker 2 (02:05:41):
And going against my boy Dan Campbell? Who I is
he your boy? Grew up sharing a church pew with
at various times. I So the game opened at Lions
three and a half point favorites. Immediately the you know,
Cowboys betting portion of the fan base put money on
(02:06:04):
the Cowboys and drove the line down to three flat.
So it is now, which sucks.
Speaker 1 (02:06:10):
On ESPN, they still got it three and a half?
Speaker 2 (02:06:12):
Are you sure I was looking at it earlier? I
want to make sure. Now see you see that it
showing what it opened versus where it's at. Now it's
down to three, so it's Cowboys minus or Cowboys plus
three on the road in Detroit Thursday night game. Detroit
(02:06:35):
had the best year of their franchise, best year in
their franchise history last year, dealing with some disappointment this year,
but has the opportunity to get right back into it,
and not only get back into it, but create even
more space where it's basically Detroit and the rest of
(02:06:58):
the NFL playoff picture, and then it's Dallas and the
rest of the NFL non playoff teams like they're they
can open up a gap that really I'm talking myself
into Detroit covering three points at home on Thursday night
Cowboys there these I think sometimes you've got to know
(02:07:25):
when to leave the table. I've taken the Cowboys the
last three weeks, running four weeks actually going back, and
I think, uh yeah, ever since the bye week, I.
Speaker 1 (02:07:38):
Talked you into the Cowboys. On the Eagles, you were
you were in for it, and then I was like,
come on, do it, do it, and I messed up
my perfect score.
Speaker 2 (02:07:47):
And I don't think you're going to be able to
talk me into it this time. I think the Lions.
I think this Cowboys bubble has to burst eventually. I
think the Lions the thing that does scare me or
not scare me. But I think the biggest question is
since the trade deadline, Cowboys are the number three rush
(02:08:08):
defense in the entire league. Detroit has to get the
running game going for the rest of their offense to work.
Speaker 1 (02:08:16):
Jamar Gibbs is on his game right now, coming off
like two weeks ago. He had a game of game
of his career last week. Still stellar game. They definitely
concentrated on them. Jared Goff needs to, you know, take
a break from his hot ass wife and focus, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:08:37):
I will say. And the more football related analysis of
the Lions besides the spouses of said Lions. Since Dan
Campbell took over play calling, You've seen a lot more
of JMO, a lot more of Jamison Williams being involved.
You're seeing more of the reliance on that physical run
(02:08:57):
game to set up everything else, to set up the
play action.
Speaker 1 (02:09:00):
Montgomery's getting a little bit more touches. Yeah, so they're
trying to wear out the defense a little bit.
Speaker 2 (02:09:05):
I think you finally see the Cowboys defense get a
little exposed.
Speaker 1 (02:09:09):
I think this is so you're picking the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (02:09:12):
I will be leaving the blackjack table where I've had
so much luck for the last four weeks, and I
will be picking the Lions to cover three points at home.
Speaker 1 (02:09:28):
I was never at that blackjack table, so I'm going
to stay away because that is hot garbage. I'm taking
the Lions.
Speaker 2 (02:09:39):
I figured, you know, I'm down four overall, but I
figured taking the Cowboys in this game would be way
too risky.
Speaker 1 (02:09:47):
Like they gotta be tired. Man, those were grueling games.
Speaker 2 (02:09:51):
And it's been a lot of you know, they had
two games over basically five days, four days.
Speaker 1 (02:09:58):
And this like a playoff game, AND's got the better
playoff experience right now.
Speaker 2 (02:10:04):
More recently it's definitely Lions. Yeah, no, I agree with you.
Give us both the Lions minus three. Hopefully I didn't
just throw away an opportunity to gain a game on you.
But I cannot cannot take the Lions lg. Let's do
some lightning round. Get out of here, shall we? Ten
(02:10:25):
sixteen doing the lightning round. Speaking of the Cowboys, you
know what debuted tonight on HBO. I'd kind of forgotten
about it until I started seeing the promos earlier today
the Hard Knocks in season.
Speaker 1 (02:10:43):
Who do we got?
Speaker 2 (02:10:44):
It's the NFC East, so you get to see We're
gonna get to see the Cowboys dealing with everything they're
dealing with both on and off the field, and now
this mini revival the Eagle struggles. I cannot wait to
see some of the footage if they show us some
of the footage from the you know, coaches meetings, coaching rooms,
(02:11:06):
because I want to see how they're handling their issues.
Obviously not as exciting to see the commanders or giants,
although maybe they have footage of Abdull Carter and in
meetings he's.
Speaker 1 (02:11:21):
Been what is he like? He's been suspended?
Speaker 2 (02:11:26):
Like he missed two weeks ago they held him out
of the first series of the game, and this last
week last night, Monday Night, they basically held him out
for almost the whole first quarter. So there's something. And
the veterans on the defense like Brian Burns and there
was another guy that had a real biting quote, but
they're basically flat out saying like, yeah, look, he's a
(02:11:47):
hell of a player, but he's got to figure out
how to be a mature adult like this is like
these are basic things and.
Speaker 1 (02:11:55):
It's grow up. He of me.
Speaker 5 (02:12:00):
Well, that's certainly Venus ten eighteen cap talking about these,
But be holes and dse No b's and d's.
Speaker 2 (02:12:12):
It's been a minute since we've been in the room. No,
I will say I haven't watched a lot of these
nd season hard and say bitch, But you can't say
it's a funny world we live in, isn't it. I
hate the hypocrisy, as the transplants would say, it's a
wicked world we live in. It's cruel and unforgiven. Uh yeah, no,
NFC East, So I'm at least excited.
Speaker 1 (02:12:31):
We'll see if it's like good hit melg We're gonna
break these in two parts. Of the Lightning round. We
got the Sports Cave Live Fantasy football recap.
Speaker 2 (02:12:41):
Okay, hold on, let's start before you full recap.
Speaker 1 (02:12:44):
I've always said it was six teams that make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (02:12:46):
Since day one. I checked. I checked the tape. I asked.
The first week we did this, you said six teams.
Speaker 1 (02:12:54):
If you think you were, I'm still gonna be top
four I got. I got the most points besides you.
I'm still gonna be top four, and I'm only doing
a weedy You're in sixth place right now. I'm in fifth. Okay, okay,
calm down, Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:13:09):
So if you missed it, I.
Speaker 1 (02:13:11):
Would have been I would have been in third or
second because right now I have a seven and six record,
and third and fourth are eight and fives and their
total points are fourteen seventy six and fourteen fifty four.
I'm fifteen eighty eight. I got over one hundred points
(02:13:31):
on these guys.
Speaker 2 (02:13:34):
We gotta win games.
Speaker 1 (02:13:35):
Points matter, but you gotta win game points matters, and
this is why it should say week week twelve.
Speaker 2 (02:13:43):
If you missed it, A listener alerted me that we
were our settings, despite the fact we've been saying six
teams all year, the settings showed we only had four teams.
Speaker 1 (02:13:57):
Those second show six.
Speaker 2 (02:13:59):
Now so if you noticed, if anyone playing along in
the Fantasy League, I will vouch this league's already shady
as ship.
Speaker 1 (02:14:08):
Yeah, because you got because I got the number one pick,
number one pick and in a wink and a ringer
back there still.
Speaker 2 (02:14:16):
Yeah, zeb I am I'll be, I am less Claypoole,
I'll jam Primis every day of my life. If we
can win this Fantasy League. You just keep doing what
you're doing, Playboy.
Speaker 1 (02:14:26):
Oh miss sweet.
Speaker 2 (02:14:27):
So Cap made the executive decision and made the commission decisions,
set the settings to what they should have been from
day one. Six teams, make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (02:14:36):
Look at me, I'm the captain.
Speaker 2 (02:14:38):
Now you have the reins, all right.
Speaker 1 (02:14:42):
So Eli Zuber, who was in dead last, took the captain,
screamed and churned it into the butter and shoved it
back in my face. Oh you got beat by the
guys ubers because he had one Jamar Gibbs when he
put yeah a fifty burger on me beat me one
thirty one to one to seventeen. That was when Baker
(02:15:02):
Mayfield gave me five points. And I can't rely on
Baker anymore.
Speaker 2 (02:15:08):
Say right there, right there with you, brother, I was
just saying.
Speaker 1 (02:15:11):
And this is week twelve, so it's two weeks ago.
King Henry of the Hampton's barely edged out Papaya's FC
one eleven to ninety four. Team Momnimers got stopped in
the tracks by the wild card man himself, Lonnie one
forty one to one O seven. Chairman Miao with this
week ass to Manager League team bow To just barely
(02:15:33):
edged out Tulsa State Fair one ten to one O six.
Ai Overlords is still using chat gtp to pick his
lineup beat James games by ninety eight.
Speaker 2 (02:15:45):
Ought to be using chat gpt to make these picks
every week.
Speaker 1 (02:15:49):
The a whole theater kid, I like the name. I
don't get it, he edged out to Brickertshaw ferguson one
O seven to eight. It seems like someone had a
down week. But that is week twelve. We will get
to week thirteen on the next lightning round. Go for it.
Speaker 2 (02:16:09):
Perfect hit me LG. Remind me real quick when do
playoffs start?
Speaker 1 (02:16:16):
Week fifteen? So this is the last.
Speaker 2 (02:16:19):
Week okay for seeding, first seating. Which is funny that
we changed the rules of the last week of Okay,
just it. Do you have anything else for lightning round?
Do you want to get to Oh? I was like,
I got Week thirteen fantasy.
Speaker 1 (02:16:34):
Yeah, do you have anything that you.
Speaker 2 (02:16:36):
Well, I was sitting here thinking, I mean, let's burn
through fantas.
Speaker 1 (02:16:42):
Okay, so round two Round two of Sports gave live
fantasy football Week Up we got. The captain creamed his
way back to Toulsa State Fair and slid it slightly
over the sky ride at one thirty four to one thirteen.
Why henry to the Hampton's all, I asked, got beat
(02:17:02):
by the pussy himself. The captain meet chairman yaw one
to eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (02:17:07):
Hey, that actually plays?
Speaker 1 (02:17:09):
Yay? The wild card couldn't keep his couldn't keep his
winnings This week by Dibrika Shaw Perguson ninety six to
ninety a hole, the theater kid reigned supreme and the
number two. Hey man, I was a theater kid too
for a little while. Then I found drugs.
Speaker 2 (02:17:26):
First time. First time I ever got in school suspension
was because I let a girl during theater during one
act play practice.
Speaker 1 (02:17:37):
Didn't need to know that they destroyed the AI Overlords
with the lowest scores of ninety six to eighty four,
and eli Ubers went back to it and buttered his
way over buttered his way under the team momentumers to
ninety four. Papaya FC lost to James Gang won twenty
seven to one oh nine. We are shaping up for
(02:18:00):
a Week fourteen matchup. Do we actually have a playoff race?
We do have a playoff race. So James Gang Papaya
FC are six and seven the wild card, the captain
are seven and six. Those are what can change.
Speaker 2 (02:18:17):
So that's seeding? What five, six, seven and eight?
Speaker 1 (02:18:22):
Yeah. So so if if I lose and these two win,
then it decides on points. I am forty points over
Papaya FC, so they would have to win.
Speaker 2 (02:18:32):
Pretty safe.
Speaker 1 (02:18:33):
Me lose and then score forty more points than me.
Speaker 2 (02:18:37):
Pretty safe, James.
Speaker 1 (02:18:39):
Gang, You mean you're gonna have to hope for Lonson?
Speaker 2 (02:18:43):
Mathematically possible, James, James, you.
Speaker 1 (02:18:46):
Have a five percent chance to win on this one.
This is why I say points matter. You have fourteen
ninety seven, you're down by almost for me. For the
wild card, Ye're about one hundred. You need you need
sixty points, No, fifty five points. Plus wildcard to lose
and you to win.
Speaker 2 (02:19:06):
Pray at the altar of Joe Walsh, a former member
of James Let's.
Speaker 1 (02:19:10):
See wild cards, got eli Ubers, I got King Henry
the Hampton's number ten and then the number twelve seed.
James Gang's going up against chairming me out. I will
be looking for collusion.
Speaker 2 (02:19:22):
Oh James Gang. Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on,
hold on.
Speaker 1 (02:19:25):
I will be looking for collusions. So James need to
start a full lineup if.
Speaker 2 (02:19:29):
He okay, hold on, all right, I don't play.
Speaker 1 (02:19:34):
I don't play, sir rarely. I will take over your team.
Speaker 2 (02:19:38):
I want the people that are not watching the stream
to know the look I just received from cap. I
don't think I've seen the sight of it.
Speaker 1 (02:19:49):
And then we got Papaya FC going against a Whole
Theater kid got James. But it looks like the a
whole Theater kid might have some people out one Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 2 (02:20:01):
Oh that's a run.
Speaker 1 (02:20:06):
So we got a couple. You got a couple of
slick little games next week to decide the seeding. You
are firmly in your number one seed. You will have
a first round by it looks like how.
Speaker 2 (02:20:22):
The Chicago Bears of our fantasy league. No one expected
us to be here, but zeb is my Ben Johnson.
I made a great coaching hire in the offseason. I
got the guy to run things.
Speaker 1 (02:20:34):
If the British show Ferguson and AI Overlords win and
a whole theater kid loses and they loses, you have
the least points except by three by AI Overlords, they
will jump up into the number two seed and have
a first round by now. The captain will not be
(02:20:54):
having no first round by so I will be eating
and creaming on people in the first round. You know.
Speaker 2 (02:21:00):
JT makes a JT brings. A good point to the
program was that you're worried about collusion, but you'll change
the rules the week before the playoffs start. It's very interesting.
Speaker 1 (02:21:13):
I said, it was six games, very interesting times all year.
I don't play this fourteen playoff crap. I don't do it.
Speaker 2 (02:21:21):
To be honest, I don't do it. I'm glad we
caught it when we did, because that would have really sucked.
Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
When I saw it, like usually the standard because I
just did standard scoring right, and it's standard is usually
six teams with first two first round byes. I thought
like when I created the league.
Speaker 2 (02:21:37):
Yeah, I thought this was America. We had man, we
had standards here, all right, hit me LG. Let's do
one more and get out of here. We'll save college
football talk for Thursday's episode when we do the rest
of our picks. Because I knew we were going to
go late. I knew the Horns aren't. They're not getting
in after the rankings that came out tonight, something else
(02:21:59):
happen and while we were Since we've been in the
room altogether, we talk a lot, obviously for good reason,
about Wimby and the transcendent talent we have here in
our city. We talk about how world class. He's one
of the five best people on earth that does what
(02:22:20):
he does play basketball. We have another guy here in
San Antonio that if he's not one of the five
best in the world at what he does, he's sixth.
He is right there with the best of the best,
A true world class talent. Calls San Antonio home born
(02:22:44):
and raised. Did you see Bam Rodrigue's knockout while we
were on holiday hiatus? So, Bam Rodriguez is pound for pound,
a top five fighter in the world, top five boxer
in the world, now he's been building to towards this,
he's been getting buzz, but not at the level it's
(02:23:04):
at now. He unified all three belts at his all
four I think actually now at his weight class, adds
the IBF belt with the ko of Fernando Martinez. But
sometimes when you see when you see players, it's like
(02:23:24):
Tiger at times where you sometimes you just see that
face of like, oh my god, this guy is a
demon like he is like not only is he better
than everybody else, but he knows it and he enjoys
it and he relishes it. Bam had a tenth round knockout,
and the knockout was impressive. The foot, with the setup,
(02:23:45):
everything about it. It's world class. As I was saying, yeah,
but a certain angle of the knockout, you can see
when Bam realizes he's walked Fernando into the set up,
into the trap. As he's setting up, all he's got
to do is dodge one punch. You see the smile
(02:24:06):
start to come across his face. And then it's just night.
Roll that tape, LG because I love it. Watch it
right here. He knows he's got him. He's just smiling
and then god, he was saying, look at this, look
at that smile.
Speaker 1 (02:24:28):
He must he must have been body shotting that guy
because his hands are down round and yeah, he's gassed.
Speaker 2 (02:24:34):
At that point, at that point, he knew he had
him if he could just land that one punch.
Speaker 1 (02:24:42):
Get it, dude, I love it.
Speaker 2 (02:24:44):
As much as we talk about Wimby, we need to
be talking about Bam. Maybe not just as much, but
pretty damn club.
Speaker 1 (02:24:51):
We need a Frost Bank Center. We need a Frost
fight in the Frost Bank.
Speaker 2 (02:24:56):
Yeah, another big one. The last one, uh, the last
when Mario Barrios, another local fighter, fought at the Alamodome.
That was a pretty good fight, but it still was
I agree, like a real big like even even in
the Alamo. Don't let's not Frost. Let's get fifty sixty
(02:25:17):
thousand people to watch a big title fight. I mean
san Antonio. Oh he could draw, he could Yeah, he
could draw it. At this point, no question.
Speaker 4 (02:25:26):
You got Isaac Cruz and Lamont Roach there this weekend
Frost Bank Center career boxing event.
Speaker 2 (02:25:33):
There we go. The voice of God lets us know
again we are absolutely uneducated on the topic we are
currently discussing. Thank you, Thank you, Jesus On that note,
thank you Jesus. Always a good thing to say, but
even more so when your Jesus is getting ready to
travel across the world.
Speaker 1 (02:25:53):
LG.
Speaker 2 (02:25:54):
Safe travels to Japan. Yes, we will do our best
to hold the fort down for the next.
Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
Thirten so you can sleepwalk on the plane.
Speaker 2 (02:26:04):
No. Yeah, I was about to say that was a
short answer. Get us out of here, Cap, Tell the
good people how they can get a hold of you,
how they can find you.
Speaker 1 (02:26:11):
You can get a hold of me at the Captains
Chair two one zero on Instagram and Twitter.
Speaker 2 (02:26:16):
Uh find me on x at Biggest Puma Instagram, Biggest
Dot Puma. Putting together a show page as well, but
we'll roll that out with the new year.
Speaker 1 (02:26:26):
LG.
Speaker 2 (02:26:27):
Obviously no streams for a while, but safe travels abroad.
Speaker 1 (02:26:32):
Send me those toilet picks.
Speaker 2 (02:26:33):
Him, I'm in with Andy Thursday. We'll figure out a
Cowboys viewing party. Appreciate all of y'all. Send Cap your
toilet picks. Be good, peace.
Speaker 1 (02:26:50):
Kid. What do we say about drugs?
Speaker 3 (02:26:57):
Yeah,
