The full crew is back in the Cave, and chaos reigns—in the best way possible. In this jam-packed episode of “The Sports Cave with Biggest Puma,” host Sam Freas and the gang dive headfirst into a wild week of sports, storms, and surprises.

First up: San Antonio’s record-breaking floods. The guys share personal stories of near-disaster, reflect on the tragic loss of life, and question the city’s infrastructure. It’s heartfelt, raw, and real.

Then, it’s Shakira-gate. What happens when 40,000 fans descend on the Alamodome for a concert that never happens? Sam breaks down the structural “mystery,” the parking refund drama, and the neighborhood chaos that followed.

In NBA news, the KD sweepstakes heat up. Sam reveals insider whispers about Durant’s preferred destinations—San Antonio, Miami, or Houston—and what the Spurs might have to give up to land him. Will Sohan be the dealbreaker?

The US Open gets the Cave treatment, with a dramatic breakdown of JJ Spaun’s historic win, Rory’s meltdown, and the brutal beauty of Oakmont. “It was like watching me and my boys hack away on the back nine,” says Puma.

Plus: MLB trade madness, the Devers shocker, and a Yankee Minute that turns into a full-blown therapy session. And yes, there’s Tesla talk with LG, Mario Kart mayhem, and a sneak peek at the infamous arm-wrestling video that nearly broke the Cave.

not get too specific. Broadcasting live here tonight. Actually have
a TV in the room. We have the NBA Finals
game on. So if you are watching along with us,

(00:43):
as you watch the game, mute the game, listen to us.
We'll pop over every now and then and see see
what's going on, see how it's going.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
But we all see Puma look to the look to
his right.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
When you do the Yankee minute, I figure it'll be
a good time for me to check out, check in
on the game.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm gonna check out on that Yankee.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
We are nine days away from the NBA Draft now
coming down next Wednesday. Next Wednesday, what time are they
starting that? At seven o'clock son o'clock might have a
We're gonna have analysis so we'll know, we'll know. Honestly,
you think we'll get to fourteen by no But that'll

(01:24):
be while we're live, if they even still have fourteen.
We're gonna talk some NBA in the main segment, because
of course we have the finals going on, but we
also had the unofficial open of NBA Trade Season. Of course,
we got to talk updates in the KDI Sweepstakes, and

(01:44):
then a lot of sports from the past weekend to
get caught up with the voice you heard there was
the glorious return of the cat. I'm back back.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
From the back from his deathbed.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Still scratchy voice got my very going on.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Hey ladies, like you know you like when you hear
talk like this. Man I heard, I watched I found
a random YouTube wormhole dude that had a bunch of old,
unreleased footage from you know, concerts and stuff, and one
of them was that can't get enough of your love?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Can't get enough of your love? Such a before I
sing anymore. We don't want to get suited.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Oh yeah, it is the first five minutes. We've already
lost monetization, but UH ask for it. We're fine as
long as I guess we don't drive well. I'll tell
you what you missed last week. You strategically intentionally missed
a lot of Cowboys talk.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Oh man, it was I didn't. I didn't miss it.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
LG played it.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I think, let's not say I missed it.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
No, you well, you didn't miss it because you were
playing along in the chat. But I could tell you
emotionally you missed it because it would have been your
chance to be you compared me to mic and your
chance to be Cowboys hater number one.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
There might have been something thrown across this table. You
know what I'm saying, Like it's.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
It's not a briefcase of money yet going Micah's way,
you did miss Speaking of Micah, we might have played
the in bomb last week on a cliff because I forgot.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Oh behind the scenes, He's like, he told me this
like two seconds ago, and I said, you said.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
No, No, that would have been a much different story. No.
We played a clip from Micah telling all of his
teammates good night that I don't know if this Yeah,
I forgot, As the great thom Brenneman once said, as
soon as I heard it, there was a moment I
think this might be the last time we put on
these headsets. Unfortunately you missed out on that, but good

(03:38):
to have you back in the room as always. Of course,
the other part of this operation, some might even say
the most important and crucial part of this operation is
the great LG. I don't know how to work this stuff.
O no, God, no, no, we are there is We're running.
We're running on bubble gum and tinfoil without LG. LG.

(03:59):
Tell the good people how they can help support us here.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Well, you can hit that sub subscribe button please, because
that helps us out. We're approaching four hundred now, and
if you'd like to leave a tip, just a tip,
you can go to buy me a coffee dot com
slash sports Cave Live. We are in the market for
some new microphones so Captain doesn't have to clean his
ears out before every show with with Q tips in

(04:25):
front of us.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I wish you know what we Maybe what we should
do is have have the roommate I dropped one on
the floor on these days where she is ut the
same roof as us. Maybe we have the roommate just
record what the last like three minutes before we go
live looks like. Because there's me telling you we dropped
the N bomb last week. You asking for Q tips, Yeah,

(04:49):
scrambling playing Mario Kart right up until the last minute.
Did you load that clip? Yeah? Also LG saying all right,
thirty seconds still live and then you ask me you
got that clip I sent you, right, poor LG. So it's.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Chat man especially, we gotta like you get a single
it out and send.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
You just got to like the stuff past one a m.
It's just like, you know, that's my free time stuff. Yeah,
well there's some there's some gold in there, Jerry.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, it seems like the number of Instagram Cowboys memes
that hit the group chat after after one am. It
really seems to be when we get flooded with with
three year old memes that Cap is seeing for the
first time. Of course, well, as always, as LG said,

(05:46):
it's absolutely free to subscribe. We really really really appreciate
those that have already. If you are listening to the
audio only version of this show, just go to YouTube
give us a quick for the painless h subscription there.
It helps us go, It helps us, and it goes
a long way to keep building this thing.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
You know, what I've noticed is the YouTube when you
type in sports Cave Live, we have moved up, but
not oh have we my gorilla tactics. You know, like
doing it. It's now moved up one not to where
we are above the other sports k live where whoever?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
That is not important. But I hope we don't move
up too close where the lawyers get involved, because at
that point then it's it's that's when LG.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
That's what I don't know. It's all LG's operation.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Like I am the captain. There's no background checks here. No,
that's the most important. Something else you missed we're doing
today is National Fudge Day. God dang it. What's with
this National every day? Is something stupid? Okay, every day
every day? Show them every day. We so enjoy fudge

(06:58):
if you haven't all ready to day because we only
get one of these National Fudge days of year.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
This is a softball, man.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I'm sorry, sir, I'm too busy. Uh, I'm too busy
celebrating African American Music Month because that's what my Spotify
x ai DJ keeps telling me. Oh really, everyone everyone
uses these bs holiday, these holidays, monthly observances.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
It makes you makes you a playlist, of.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Course, of course, and then uh, you know, for the
most part, and it's not it's not like uh you know,
it's not like something you would normally listen to it.
It's it's very very niche, it's very very deep cuts
of artists.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Know, there are some good ones.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Knon was a good one that was back in the day.
I haven't heard him and much lately. That kind of
aged me. I think that was like early two thousands.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Though I like it, I always like it when when
it serves me something new, at least so I can
either claim that I found it myself or I can
just immediately hate on it and bitch about AI like
you did last week and digital exactly.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
It feels like a good place.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Let's jump into it, do a little weekend recap as
we are wont to do on Monday nights, of course. Uh,
I feel like we got to start with you know,
since we were last in the room last Wednesday, we've
had just insane amounts of you know, record rainfall. That
one night last week it was you know, we got

(08:33):
more rain here in San Antonio than we do on
average the months of June and July combined. Dude, Yeah,
it was nar And of course, thoughts, thoughts.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Go out to those people that, man, I can't believe
that where was it Worsbach and over there?

Speaker 1 (08:50):
What uh the last number I saw was thirteen now
reported dead, but two are still is that still too missing?
So that's unfortunate.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Man, Like do not like y'all don't realize how powerful
water is. You know, Like you go up there, that
thing is a third of the or a fourth of
the way up that car. It will slide you, you
know what I'm saying, Like you gotta think, man.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
That's just a board.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Like if you ever try to do anything like put
a board in a running water and see if you
can hold that board and you it's it's gonna push
you over every time. Man, it makes me wondering. I mean,
the way safe out there, be safe?

Speaker 1 (09:27):
The way that you know that particular floodway that that
carried a lot of those cars away. You know, it's
the same one I saw case that was doing a
story where like twenty thirty years ago they had done
a store an exact same story about that exact same
part of town. Yeah, that had had cars.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
So this this whole north side I grew up on
and like especially off of wet More before they like
started doing it.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
It's eye on it.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
That thing used to have like a river go through
it on every flood, and like I remember and Stepdad
try to go through there during the what was it
the ninety nine storm or the ninety eight storm, and
we were almost a casualty. We were like, I mean
we I felt the car drift about five feet to
the left.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
And I was like, man, I was like, what's wait
it out?

Speaker 3 (10:16):
What are we doing?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Let's wait it out? You know, we've uh you know,
I remember when we first when the roommate and I
first moved to town. It wasn't too long that they
had the we had the big flood where you know,
all of the quarry was underwater and the golfers were
standing out on the you know, the bathroom sheds on

(10:38):
the back nine to try to stay out of the
water to get rescued almost basin exactly. Yeah, when all
of that flooded out, And that was the moment, you know,
that was my first I feel like that was like
a first initiation into living in San Antonio because we
were we were living in our we had already moved downtown.
We spent the first nine months here in early twenty eleven,

(11:03):
first nine months out in Leon Valley, broke that lease,
moved downtown as fast as we could, and then like
right after we moved downtown, all of that almost basin
flooded out and it was it. It just I remember
watching on TV and seeing like couldn't believe. It's like
does this happen? Like, well, you got regularly often that's
like old.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Money over there, you got terort hides, you got you know, yeah,
almost part almost all the alm real close to there.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
And like I don't they got the damn road connecting them.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
And have you seen have you ever seen that damn
like where.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
It's full actually flat? Yeah, it's crazy now it's you.
I mean you said it. Water is terrifying. The closest
I've ever been. When do you remember when all of
like Wemberley and New bron Foles all that flooded out
real real bad and they had all of the you
know houses literally floating away over Wemberley.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
We were the house the double wide right well, there's
some nice one and certain parts of River Road over
there a double one, and we were especially over there.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
We were driving. We were supposed to go to a
my buddy was proposing to his now wife at a
lake house over in Marble Falls, and so we were
driving from San Antonio to Marble Falls. We got to
Blanco and when we got driving, the whole time we
had driven that far, the water on the sides of
the road is starting to rise and stuff. Stuff's the

(12:28):
one that was like, And We're in her old Honda
element at the time, So I'm like, man, any amount
of water and we're just gonna float away in that thing. Uh.
And she kept saying, She's like, you know, maybe we
should turn around, and I was like, no, I've driven
in worse. It's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Fire Theravado of the man, like, just push it through,
just get it through.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
It was it's because I'm such a good It's because
I'm such a good friend, as all of y'all know
I was. I was doing everything I could to get
there for my buddy, to watch him propose. No. I
just wanted to I just wanted to spend a week
at the lake House Families lake House. Great dude, great dude,
shout out Brennan. But no. We got into Blanco and

(13:10):
the water, the river was over the bridge right there.
Oh yeah, And that was the point that was the
moment where I turned. I was like, I think we
should turn around. I think this one, I think we're
and then at that point we're driving back to San Antonio.
Is now the you know, the the ditches on both
sides are rivers and it's over the water, so we're
sliding every That was the the close besides like river

(13:34):
crossings where I grew up, where it was like we
should I should have known better not to go across.
But that was the first of like being caught in
a storm. Yeah, and which it sounds like, I mean,
all of this rain came so fast last week. I
don't know how many of those people drove into it
or just got caught in it because it rained so fast,

(13:55):
it sounds like it was the ladder.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
The fact that it gets dark, you don't realize how
deep it is exactly. And that's that's the that's the key.
Like when it rains that fast, especially when it's dry.
Let me talk some science about y'all, man. We got
some Bill Ny, the science guy. The grounds dry does
not soak up that water, It does not soak up
that water as fast, and therefore it looks shallow, but
it is incredibly deep. But there's my science kick.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, we might need a we might need a science corner.
Yeah yeah, and we need an actual scientist to fact
check it. But yeah, as as you uh most importantly said,
you know, the thoughts to the thirteen deceased in the
family and just can't imagine. I watched one of the
you know, we'll we'll pick pick up spirits here in

(14:42):
a minute because I'm about to bitch at the city
about Shakira concert.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
But I did. I watched one of the news.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
I've been watching more local news because I've been recording
every single local newscast because YouTube TV has unlimited d
R your little quad box, Oh dude, you can get
you can get quad box of local news channels. I
flipped between the local news and cable news quad boxes.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Uh do you just mutter in your sleep? Like pretty much?
Back back in five, back in five, pretty much?

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I mean pretty much.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
I'm a junkie. I was raised on c SPAN.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
The only reason we don't watch se SPAN is because
the roommate draws the line at that. It's like, I'm
not watching c SPAN for another f in minute. But
I was watching one of the local channels that had,
you know, had an interview with with the daughter of
one of the guys that had been swept away. And
I mean it's just heartbreaking, just terrible, terrible, and of course, uh,

(15:37):
you know, the week a couple of days before Father's
Day just absolutely absolutely jokes at your heart strings. So
hopefully there's weather. This weather just keeps getting worse and worse. Man,
it's almost like it's there's some coincidence. Now hopefully the
city can. Uh, you got to come up with some
kind of solution for that. If it's happened now, well

(15:59):
multiple time in the last two three decades at the
same spot.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Well, if you pay attention to local governments, the local
government half the construction is to have free falling water
to where it does not flood. So there's a positive
and a negative. Yeah, it feels like, you know, just
don't take our employees. It feels like that's not working
so well.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I did see that you mentioned the the you know,
government spending aspect of it. It was a you know,
like anything these days, as soon as tragedy strikes, opportunists
jump into the fray, jump into the to the arena,
and you know this the lack of you know, construction
projects not being finished on time. You know, issues like

(16:45):
this where parts of the city are routinely, regularly flooded
and nothing gets done. It gave a lot of ammunition
to the people that are anti Project Marvel and anti
Downtown Arena and be like, well look and it just
so happened as people Holt was doing his rollout with
every news station. He gave one on one interviews with
all of them, and it's like, well, why are we

(17:06):
spending why are we giving a billionaire family money from
arena when we can't even when our city isn't even probably.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
We have fourteen and set fourteen and thirty five we
have I know, there's stuff going down in nine to
ninety we got it ten and sixty oh four, I
uh said, thirty five and sixty oh four to eighty
one and sixteen oh four, and then he got words
boch Parkway. It's like, we decided to build everything all
at once, which I get, let's let's knock it out,

(17:36):
you know, let's you know, but I mean it's gonna
be a little bit of hell for the next year
or two. But I am for I mean, like ho like,
you're gonna make the money at Project Marvel, You're gonna
have a brand new minor League's team that we get.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I don't know is the mission that one. That one
is outside of project mark. That one, it sounds like,
is actually closer to being fully approved because it's way
more private investment. It's not a it's not going to
be a city project, Isn't it supposed to be? Buy
the Pearl It's over it's where the old Tech High

(18:13):
School was, right there by, you know, like market side
of downtown, over by the Enchilada Library and everything.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
You see this blank stare up.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
I know, yeah, I look.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
I am someone I love living down to the roommate,
and I used the downtown library a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I know the big convenience centers, I know, the Pearls.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Southtown, west side of northwest part of downtown. But then
the Spurs Arena would be southeast part of downtown. Like
right where I mean they're tearing down the Texan Texas
Institute of Culture. They're tearing that building down because that
would be the main foot team's gotta go. It's gotta go,

(18:56):
cap now I mentioned well, another part of Jack Marvel
would potentially be a remodel or a renovation of the
Alamo Dome. Oh yeah, and as soon as so last Friday,
I don't.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Get why you have to walk a mile to get
in there. I'm just saying like, that's that's I'm a big.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Guy, because there's train tracks and you gotta go up
the down train.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Trairs, up and down the stairs, and I'm just like,
come on, man, now, you're not getting in here sweating.
When I sit next to somebody I don't know, well, our.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Buddy, the the old uh what was it, the Tulsa
Skyfair guy, the you know, like bring back the sky
trolley to take you from I'll have to drop you
right off at the Dome. But no, uh, Skira was
supposed to play the Alamodome Friday night, which this is

(19:51):
parking sixty. Let's not we'll criticize the city, but let's
get it right. At least it's sixty dollars parking for
they're like main big events now. Yeah, And so normally
when there's a concert of that size in the neighborhood,
you know, because we're our house is block block and

(20:13):
a half away from the Alamodome parking lot. So normally
when there's something that big going on, we exodus, We
pull a Moses and get out of there. We we're
gone for four hours exactly. So this one, you know,
usually we like for a concert like this, if it's
supposed to start at eight o'clock, the parking everyone's usually

(20:35):
flooding into the neighborhood between like five and seven, and
then like seven to eight, you know, like the hour
before is kind of our window to slip out.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, because everybody's coming to everyone's we can get out exactly,
So they give you one lane to get out.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Dude, It's okay. Again, I understand you're trying to police
the flow of traffic and make things better for the
people that are going to events there. Yeah, but dude,
it is such a kick to the d for all
of us that live right there. It's it's the it's
the lack of consistency that is the killer. So like

(21:13):
you know last month or yeah, last month when it
was Jelly Roll and post Malone, they had a whole
different structure of what was open, what was shut down,
what was one lane, what was blocked, all of that
than they had for Shakira.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
So so they don't keep it consistent. So it's never
it's never the same lane.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Right, that's the problem. So you go one way and
you think this.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Is a thunderdome.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Man, yeah, it's like like, who's there's no rhyme or
which is also a it's an environment where I tend
to thrive because now you've given me a reason to
be confrontational because it's it's.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Now now it's personal.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
You've personally attacked me, and I know you did it intentionally,
just to me specifically. So that's that's the mindset that
overtakes me. But that kettle top on Friday night, we're
you know, it's thirty minutes before she's set to go on.
We leave the house, and we're gonna end up you know,

(22:12):
hanging out, Uh, go get dinner and then hang out
with some friends. And it was really weird because as
we were driving through the neighborhood, I told stuff. I
was like, man, there's still a lot of people trying
like walking the neighborhood, like getting to the concert. And
then she was like, yeah, but they're walking away from
the Alamo Dome, and so I kind of was like, oh, oh,

(22:36):
that's weird. Yeah it is. And so immediately we start looking,
you know, she pulls up social and starts trying to
figure it out, and the way the Alamodome posted originally
it said the Shakira concert has been postponed due to
structural issues. So what right?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
So again like the stage or like Alamodome might have
a ace he fallowing through the top of it.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
That's where the question of immediately it became trying to
figure out which which one is it?

Speaker 2 (23:08):
And was that it wasn't that in the dr Dominican
Republic that the stage It is like.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Oh, yeah, Nellie Cruz's sister was in the in the rubble,
I believe unfortunate, but yeah, Alamodome puts it out there.
It's structural issues that are the reason the show is canceled.
So then again kind of like the you know, any

(23:34):
the opportunitists, the opportunists sprung into action and it was like,
h is the Alamo Dome charging sixty dollars for parking
and things falling apart? It's going to fall in on you.
And so immediately the Alamo Dome went to clarify it
wasn't any structural issues on their part. Apparently she's had

(23:55):
to cancel other shows already on the tour because this
third party vendor that are you know, her production company
is using like they put the picture out and it
doesn't look like much, but I mean there it's it's
shoddy welding. It's just the welding.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
On one of the on one of the secure like
falling on that sweet sweet butters.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
That's correct, that apparently unable to age physique. Yeah, don't
hurt those hips. Yeah, it was pretty wild seeing because
I mean, dude, it was like like families. I mean,
you know, like just imagining you know, people that have
driven up from the valley for this show.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Dad's taking their daughters. Yeah, I'll take you that concert exactly. Yeah. Yeah,
your friends dad of the year.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, well we'll charter We'll charter a bus to go
up there. You know, people that had had me greet
I got you, people that had paid for you know,
hotels for the whole weekend because it was a Friday
night show.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
So are they going to read do it or is
it like at the end of the I mean, that's
gotta be an asked with just you know, having to
rebook your hotel.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
And I think she was in I think she was
in Houston.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Maybe that's tonight or maybe that was last night or something.
So maybe there's a way to like swing back if
they can get proper equipment.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
But it was very you're gonna find out when they
started shutting down your road.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
I know exactly a random she's gonna do a pop
up show at charity bar. But you asked talking about
the parking. So the city apparently refunded parking. Apparently apparently,
So if you did, if you didn't get refunded and
went to the show, reach out for us because I'd

(25:43):
love to have more ammunition. Yeah, but apparently the refunds
for parking were supposed to hit people's accounts today. Let's
let's get it.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Let's get a like a one star review or something
on a refunded part.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Dude, there were so many I'll tell you who wasn't
refunded parking. My Neighborhodaia across the street. It was it
was a park at your own wrists. You think you think, well,
they wouldn't have worked for them because there was a show.

(26:16):
He would have said, ye, no, Spaniel, yeah exactly. Uhhw Yeah,
it was. It was pretty I heard some arguments taking
place across the street of people that they had parked that.
It was like, no, you're not getting your money back,
Like get off my property.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Now, I'm like, you see the eighteen pack right here,
that's your money.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yeah, right, exactly what that was five minutes after you left,
after you part, I walked to the convenience store. That's
exactly right, that's exactly right. So yeah, that was a
uh you know that that shut down the neighborhood in
and now a new and unique way. I hadn't seen
that one yet, yeah wow, yeah. Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
And then of course.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Here's a big one for San Antonio. Man. Yeah, no,
it was like, I mean, over forty thousand people that
you know, we watched file in and then file out
all in the course of ninety minutes.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
It's like half a year waiting. For some people, they're
just excited. Yeah, just geeked out of their mind.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
That's what I'm saying. You know, when there's a lot
of buzz I saw my essay, or maybe it was
current one of them had was getting a bunch of
clickbait interactions from people because they were writing. You know,
every every year, some outlet writes a story about how,
you know, San Antonio has no live music scene and

(27:43):
all the big tours skip us and this and that,
which is true for the most part. I mean like, yeah,
they hit You're hitting Houston, Austin, Dallas. No, we get
that project Marvel. Maybe they won't skid over. Well, that
might help. The other problem is a lot of it
is because we're so close to Austin. They have like
radius clauses in their tour schedules, So if you play

(28:07):
a show in Austin, sometimes you're still in because they
want everyone funneling to Austin for the show.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
I wonder what the radios clause for because I'm thinking
of La and San Diego, and.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
That's almost like Austin. It's far enough away though it's fine.
And I also think San Diego just does it's San
Diego gets treated like San Antonio and Vagina. Yeah. Unfortunately,
the roommate just got back from her trip. She sent
me that was something else you missed. She was staying in.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
A hotel that was right next to the Petco.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Oh yeah yeah. And so during that Dodgers Padres extra
inning game, they were all watching it from the rooftop bar,
and I mean you could just see it perfectly.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Love one of my favorite parts. Man. Yeah, that I
got a lot of people out in San Diego. I
was like go to Tayston. I had a friend out
there and I'm like, go to Taysting Thirst, I'll set
you up and blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
And they're like we're not going. And I'm like, all right, fine, Yeah,
you're just not gonna win that battle.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
I was like, just tell them Captain from San Antonio
sent you.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah, that'll get you far. That'll get you far.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
They got me in a French Montana concert. I'm just saying, wow,
ye in basketball shorts and c and the bouncer looked
at me and was like, yeah, you're not dressed right.
And I was like, tell them, Captain from San Antonio
is here.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Well, look, I will say, like most events in San
Antonio at least here, if you just act like you
belong and tell the person's door. No, no, it's fine.
I'm like, I'm supposed to be here. And they're like, well, okay,
he said he was supposed to be here exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
He's like, I don't get paid nothing.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah I'm not. I'm not putting up I'm not even
fighting you on that. Uh but no, of course I
mentioned also, oh, I forgot to call my dad.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
You forgot to go all on father's biggest puma. Your
son failed you, so you didn't your dad listen.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
So here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Oh buddy, I've got.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
This is dedicated to you, biggest puma. I've got this
because I know he's listening.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
I know he's listening to obligations down you look at
you look at that camera, and you tell him you
love that man.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
I mean, he's fine, he's all you tell that man.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Look, he didn't call me on my birthday.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
This like, Dad, you didn't call me on my You
didn't send me a president.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
I sent him a text and told him that I
would call him, but I forgot. I've forgotten now to
follow up on the call because we did in law stuff. Obviously.
The roommate's parents live out in Comfort Bernie area.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yeah, they know what's having the sun. We got to
do the in law stuff first.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah. Well, you know, I will say the holidays with
the end. This is back to back weeks spending a
weekend afternoon with the in laws. But last week it
was for stuffs graduation president, this week for Father's Day.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Can't can't put up much of a fight.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
She going back out of town.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Yeah, exactly, she.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I will say any any holiday afternoon holiday lunch spent out,
there is always good food at least.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
So hey, next time you're back in town, biggest puma,
I will come out and see you. I did not know.
I didn't know that you guys are going to be there.
I would have been there. I would have I would
have held your plan. And they, Oh, yeah, I forgot
you heard about the plant. Yeah I forgot you missed it.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Yeah. I will say this driving driving that stretch from
you know here to Bernie. With the HOV lanes that
they've put out there, they are, but not when people
just use them like a normal lane, like weaving well
one people going slow and and then too people crossing

(32:01):
over to past people. So like cutting me off in
the HOV lane just to get back. I got. I
got flipped off. This won't surprise you at all. I
got flipped off by a random old man because as
the HOV lane is ending, you know, there's not a
lane you have to merge it.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
So this guy speeds up and gets right next to us,
and I'm like looking over at.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Him like, dude, like what do you want?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
What the dopamine rush do these guys get for? Like
speeding up because I'm like, I know you're going sixty,
but when I'm passing you crank it up to seventy
seventy five. I'm like, what dopamine rush do you get
out of that? Is this the highlight of your day?

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Yes? To be like I got him. Yes, I think.
I think people live such boring lives and they're angry
at every decision they've made for the last thirty years
that they drive with vengeance, like they're trying to force
some kind of discipline on. Yeah, exactly what it feels like.

(33:01):
Because yeah, I mean, especially that stretch because you can go.
I mean it's like I think the speed limit is
eighty out there once you get far enough out of town.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
So so day the Captain's tip of the day always
keep a handful of pennies in your car.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Just throw them out.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
You know what we used to do, so when we
would allegedly and allegedly what we used to do is
we would take slices of like craft American cheese and
try and throw it on people's windshields.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Is then when the cheese and then they.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Try to do the wiper and it just spreads American
cheese all, don't I don't suggest doing that because we
allegedly Well, buddy, that was the goal back then, that
was he had not proud of it, but just trying
to scratch their car. Yeah, it all in all though,
all in all, besides the Shakira concert canceled, and besides

(33:57):
back to back weekends with the in laws, it was
a good Father's Day weekend. Sorry, Pops, I didn't call you.
I'll call you this week. You'll hear from me.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Well, I know my weekend. It didn't go It didn't
go too good. Let me go ahead and get that
minute on the clock there, lgh.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
I've been looking forward to this all weekend.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
It was a dark weekend. It was a dark weekend.
It started out great. We were going against Krockley, one
of the best. We swept the Royals. We're going into
Finnway to get some sweet sweet revenge. We got two
of our starters with Rodin and Free and Aaron Judge.

(34:37):
It's a ninth inning home run to tie it, to
tie it.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Oh, this all sounds possible all over the Big Monster.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
And then the Arms decided to just take it from
us like we were a little seventeen year old girl.
If you catch my drift, that ball was, that ball
was in, That ball was in, all right? That he
was safe. He was safe, all right, But only because

(35:08):
of that happening. Why couldn't you trade Devers three days prior?
Because he just absolutely destroys us. Goodbye, Devs, hope to never.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
See you again. How unfortunately, I didn't hear any mention
of the actual record against the Red Sox this weekend.
You want me to use this thing or what, dude, I'd.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Love to see you take a take a few cuts.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
I did you see there were nine sweeps across baseball
this weekend? I heard that, Yeah, Yankees. Of course, my
Rangers actually swept the terrible White Sox to get back
to five hundred.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Somehow, I'll try to get you to do a Rangers minute.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
I was like, I'm not jinxing it yet because we're
just not back to five hundred. I feel if I
do a Rangers minute, it'll immediately start a dozen game
losing streak. I did have. I had this for you
last week. We're gonna talk about the Devons trade a
little bit here in a second, but I have these.
I don't know if you saw this, but last week

(36:11):
this was floating around. This is one stat that every
MLB team leads the league in, so one stat that
each team is number one in. So for example, your Yankees,
the they have we were the last ones. Well, no,
they have the highest team on base plus slugging, highest

(36:34):
ops of course, so Rangers fewest base runners allowed. Again,
pointing to the strength of the pitching problem, Arizona best
ops went ahead in the count. So you know, a
bunch of Boston most hard hit balls, Cubs, highest first
pitch strike percentage. So it's for the most part, you know, Angels,

(36:55):
most double plays turn For the most part, these are
positive stats. Yeah, the somehow the Rockies have the most
triples of any team this season. They don't care, they've
been as bad as they've been, they still somehow have

(37:16):
the most triples of any team. Uh. You want to
guess which team has the most pitches of one hundred miles,
how many pitches of over one hundred hours miles per
hour or more? What team leads the league? And Sorriano,
I mean you got I would say me that kid

(37:37):
that Milwaukee just called up might be schemes with.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
It's randomly the reds, Hunter Greens, is it?

Speaker 2 (37:48):
The are they the tallest, No, that was the the
uts A statih Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Okay, So all of that being said, all of that
being said, the Baltimore are having a terrible year as well, underachieving,
not as bad as the Rockies are White Sox, but
underachieving where they thought they underachieving somehow with all of.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
That talent on the roster.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Yeah. So the one stat they lead all of MLBN,
they are the heaviest team by average weight. They got
to just.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
Call them fat.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Fat, that's that's that's seafoods, that's seafood town. And it's surprisingly,
it's actually low. It's it's my it's my clocking in
weight this morning to nineteen and they're on average the
heaviest team nineteen. Dude. I saw I saw Gillis talk
about Shane Gillis talk about how he was down to
like two sixty five from you know, when he was

(38:46):
a want to be college football player, and he has
gotten up to like two ninety five three hundred and
now his performing weight is like two sixty two sixty five.
And then I thought to myself, you know, I'm clocking
in at like two yeah, and it brought me back
to all of the memes of the Trumpster who's one
pound under obese at sixty four Mine and Shane's exact type. Yeah,

(39:11):
I'm two twenty. Shane says he's two sixty five, but
Trump is two forty right there in the middle there.
Bring out the DK fake news lot, bring out the
DK metcalf memes again.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
When it's like, yeah, no, this is he's saying, like it's.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Nah, dude, there's a lot of weight.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
There's they have a weight requirement, like I'm sure everybody knows,
like in football, like if you do not stay a
certain weight, they will start docking your pay. And they
even start doing that with time in uh, the NCAA football,
because I guarantee you.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
I was like probably like.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
When I when I was on the line, I was
probably weighing in at about two fifty and I went
up against a three p fifty boy who.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
I couldn't I couldn't move them.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
I could not move him at all, and like they
always puts together because I was the second biggest guy.
Yeah that's the unfortunate And I can't move this guy man,
Like I'm like, dude, this guy is one hundred pounds
heavier than me, and he's just railroad to me every.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Time, so to speak.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
Yeah, yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Always it's always unfortunate when you're the second biggest kid
and the first biggest is like substantially bigger than everyone else,
because you're stuck and they're just looking at you like,
I mean, you gotta guard him, like he's the guy.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
We did the Oklahoma drill on there, which is illegal now,
which is like just give it the ball and like
run through them, and like I said, stuffed this ship.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
I was like, I was like, what not doing that?

Speaker 2 (40:47):
And then like the coaches got so.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Mad at me.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
I got doctor string on that one. They're like, you
got some of my went first to second string because
I wouldn't take the hit.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
I think. I think Dion Sanders used to call that
a business to say.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
I was like, hell, no, you ain't gonna catch you
on that one. I'm like, I was like this, I
was like, this was in middle school. I was like, yeah, this,
I'm not doing that now. No, No, I think he
made the right decision there.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
You mentioned the socks trading divers devers out of nowhere,
and seemingly there's been bad blood. Okay, No, I shouldn't
say the bad blood. We'll talk about we'll talk about that.
But the way they executed the trade, no talking to
other teams, no publicizing that he is available. They got

(41:35):
they called the Giants, made the deal, and it was
done like the guy that was supposed to start.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
No trade, no hardly any trades, no top prospects. It's like,
are you gonna take on this huge contract? We'll take everything,
all right, give us some relievers.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
And the huge contract was the original ten year, three
hundred and thirteen million, still eight years I think left
on it, and the Giants are paying all of it.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Like thirty three three point seven or something per year after.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
But is it really a salary dump? So the way
you just described it makes it sound like a salary dump,
but you mentioned so. Going back to the off season,
the Red Sox sign Alex Bregman away from the Astros.
So now they've got to find a spot for him. Well, now, Devers,
you're not playing third anymore? Want you to d.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Devers did not want to play third, did not want
to play for.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
He wanted to play third.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
No, I mean he didn't want to D eight. He
didn't want to d H.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
He didn't want to play first, and he sure as
hell didn't want to play outfield where they started putting his.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
Ass right And it was after Homeboy, the first baseman
had the season or prop maybe season ending, but the
long term injury pushing, you know, opening up a spot,
and they were like, well, hey, if you still want
to play the field, play first base. And that was
when Devers told in an interview with local media saying,

(42:55):
you basically said, I think the front office needs to
do their job and find somebody that can play first base.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
And you know what they did. They brought up the
number one prospect.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
They sure did.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
They first had to play outfield and at first base cover.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
And they told Rafel, I hope you like the West
Coast because we're I mean, I.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Think if they sent them to like the Angels, speaking
of we're in the tenth inning, what you would call
it if they send them somewhere, But like they sent
them to one of the best teams in baseball.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Yeah, and again, like you said, without that technically over
the the other best team in baseball, the Dodgers right now,
even though.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Detroit's got a better record, but we all know Detroit
ain't gonna last.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
You know, it's just a yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Compared though, they'll come back down to earth after spring
break at the All Star but.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
That Al Central is overperforming. Not just the Tigers, I
mean the Indians, which of course we saw the Indians
last year push the Yankees a little bit there in
the playoff. Ram there's another Yankee killer.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Yeah, I just see it Devs hearing the way.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
You know, we're gonna talk about the NBA trade that
went down and hearing the way a lot of people
were referring to this uh Devers trade as comparisons to
the Luca trade, where it was they didn't like sure it.
He had two hundred and fifty million dollars left on
his deal. But he's also a premier hitter that plays

(44:26):
a premier position.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
He was Boston at that time, right, There's no other
player in Boston that shined like he was. Like, it's
like trading Big Poppy.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
It's like trading Mookie Bets the first time they did
this in.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Five years and five years they have traded Mookie Bets. Yeah, Endeavors, Yeah,
which are the two fan favorites, right?

Speaker 1 (44:47):
So, But like Red Sox, I've got a Red Sox,
I've got a buddy, who's a Socks fan and as
pissed as he was about the Mookie trade originally, then
it shifted into okay, well, at least we got Devers. Now,
Who's I keep wanting to call him Devers? Devers now? Who? Like,
all right, I'm I'm over the Mookie trade because now
we've invested. We got this guy for ten years, we

(45:09):
paid him three hundred million, he's gonna be our guy
for a decade. Well, no, now he's in San Francisco.
And the Hall you got back mentioned, you know, left
handed starter Kyle Harrison, Jordan Hicks or a flamethrower, but
you know, not a top end guy, inconsistent. And then
a couple of prospects that don't really jump off the

(45:30):
you know, prospect rating lists or anything West.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
Paint chips, so though they'll hang their hat on somebody else.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
Yeah, well, I mean they still for Boston.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Alex Bregman probably fits in better with that fan base
anyway to begin with. But it's uh, it was shocking.
I mean, you mentioned obviously the turmoil behind the scenes
that had been building to this, Yeah, but it felt
like it would be more of a all right, fine,
you know what we can't resolve this relationship. Rest of

(46:03):
the league, send us your best offers, and that apparently
didn't happen. Dude. Yeah, it was like it was out
of nowhere, Like in is this.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Like a trend that's going to be happening now to
where like trades are just gonna happen out of nowhere,
Like it's just these GMS and the like, not even
the agent's gonna know.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
I mean, it does feel it opens up.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Like the GM's just sitting there having like little you know,
Illuminati meetings.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
Talking to let's just do this. I Tristan Cassis, that's
the first base when they got injured. I couldn't remember it. Yeah,
and it was season ending. He You might be onto something,
especially with the guys that have a quarter of a
billion dollars committed to them contractually.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
Best best association in all of sports man Baseball Players Association, dude, Yeah, yeah,
like in NBA, I think they got the second best.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
You know, NFL's dog poop, you know. But yeah, the
only one the NFL might be better than is the
MLS Players Union. Oh yeah, and they get it handed
to him every CBA negotiation. Oh buddy, yeah that but
I mentioned the rest of baseball. You know, my Rangers

(47:21):
got back to five hundred and uh I guess biggest
baseball headline today now that the Dever's trade is in
the rear view, Otani back on the mountain tonight, making
his gonna hit. Look, dude, if your guy could pitch
it would be it would be just as impressive. But

(47:41):
what Otani does. No other human is ever.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
Going doing what Aaron Judge is doing right now.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
No, we've seen Aaron Judge. We've seen not like yeah,
we've seen those offensive numbers. We've seen Barry Bonds.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
His base percentage was better because they walked him. But
nobody has hit like. Nobody is at the average like him.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
So you're describing an average that's maybe eight points higher
than Barry Bond. We've seen that before, though we haven't
seen a guy all together, a SI young quality starting pitcher,
and uh, well, you know what an altogether package would
be a good at center fielder who doesn't make errors
in the World Series. He's a right Fielderani, Well, then
why was he playing center Otani on the mound tonight

(48:24):
doing something.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
He's gonna you really want this bat.

Speaker 1 (48:27):
He's gonna beat lead off. I just know what. The
Yankees got swept, so I gotta get my I gotta
get my shots in while I can. First time the
guy swept this year, by the way, exactly, Otani batting
lead off and starting the game. I think it's only
the third time now since like nineteen hundred it's happened
in the National League because of course, Yeah, he's finally
getting to make his Dodgers pitching debut.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
And he said, that's tonight, right, Yeah, yeah, happening.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
It's the late you know, West Coast. Yeah, nine o'clock time,
so yeah, nine should should be coming down here at
fifteen twenty minutes. Yeah, I only gets jacked up a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (48:59):
You know as well.

Speaker 1 (48:59):
All so it's funny he's making his pitching debut the
same day his former interpreter reported to prison for his
fifty seven month prison term. Today, his interpreter never made
those bets. No, no, no, of course, this is what
kills me. But MLB can't have theirs in a lifetime.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
It's like, I'm mad. I'm mad at O'tani, but I
know Otani just he took you know, it's like, hey,
you want to be banned from baseball?

Speaker 1 (49:27):
All your life.

Speaker 2 (49:28):
No, well then just say this, just roll with this. Okay,
I get it. But then you're gonna let Pete Rose
die until you've until you're like, hey, finally you can
be letting the Hall of Fame. Like it just burns
my britches.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Yeah, it feels like, and it feels like in thirty
years we're gonna get a tell all book of.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
It's all sports writers, what actually is it's all the
old curmudgeons, sports writers who, like, you know, someone was.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
Like, you know, the.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
Extra innings game with the when Judge hit the home
run with off of Crockett, Like the ghost Runner is
the stupidest thing in baseball. Them taking away getting trucked
at the home plate was the dumbest move ever because
I was the most exciting game in baseball. But I
do like a lot of their moves. I like the
pitch clock. I like some of this stuff. I like

(50:22):
it where you can't throw over eight times the first base.
I'd like where you can't ultra shift, you know what
I'm saying. So there are some good but like those
two things like are ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
The ghost Runner one is pretty cool. And I'll say
I was watching the Rangers this week.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
Yes, say release relief pitchers, but but to put two
more relief pitchers on your staff, and all that does
is just.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Cost the team a little bit more money, or that's it.
Or use some minor league options. That's why they're there.
Call guys up for two days to be the back
end of the bullpenper that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
It's gonna cost them a little money, of course, is
that's the that's what you give these kids a chance
to go to the show and like and honestly, you
know how many people like it is sometimes straight luck
to find a Hall of Fame player, do you know,
because you'll be number thirty two prospecting the number one

(51:17):
prospect burns out, you know, like and it's just straight
luck and you're playing the numbers.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Yeah, rarely does. So the other day it was number one.
It was three number one picks. It was pitcher, catcher,
and hitter. All had been previous number one picks. I
think it was. It was Skeins and then the catcher
they drafted out of Louisville number one that's now up

(51:45):
in the pros. I can't remember who the hitter was,
but he was a former number one pick, but like
very rarely do you three do you see a battery?
You know? Pitcher, Catcher, and Hitter all be former number
one picks Like that just doesn't happen.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
Like a Strasburg or Bryce Harper. Like how many other
number one picks can I think off the top of
my head?

Speaker 1 (52:04):
That became Matt Bush, who ended up pitching in relief
for the Rangers after being a Studd High school shortstop
after he ran over a guy and killed him. Wow,
that just took a turn. That's the number Why number one? Well,
I'll tell you. Here's a professional. Here's a professional. Here's

(52:24):
a professional transition speaking of driving right into somebody. LG.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
How's that new self driving Tesla going?

Speaker 1 (52:37):
It's going great?

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Oh then the AI hasn't got you yet?

Speaker 4 (52:41):
Oh cha, it drove It drove me to the dog
park yesterday, me and the dog.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
Oh you still let that thing drive you?

Speaker 1 (52:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (52:48):
All the way to Coyote Dog Park down sixteen oh
four through the construction zone.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
That's terrifying.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Man, My pucker would be so live just like I mean,
I would have a hemorrhoid.

Speaker 1 (52:59):
So what I'd be like, we're gonna do something up
shipping a diamond. We're gonna do something this week where
l G takes you and I. We're gonna put some
cameras in there and let that thing drive. See which
one of us freaks out in the bus. I'm sitting
passenger because I'm grabbing that wheel. Dude. I'm like, yeah,

(53:20):
I'm on it. Don't worry. You're on it. Yeah, you
have to be. You just said it.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
You let it drive, you man.

Speaker 4 (53:25):
You do, but you have to supervise it.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Just in case. And if that thing had been in
self driving yesterday that we would have had three wrens.
Are we talking about stereotypes?

Speaker 2 (53:40):
I mean LG is Asian, so we're already going behind
the eight ball here.

Speaker 1 (53:44):
Well that then we're good. Yeah, then you should be happy.
What are you talking about? You think AI is an
Asian by every Asian woman?

Speaker 4 (53:54):
Get into it, because the robot taxis are rolling out
at the end of this.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Month and I will not be in that body.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
Speaking off, speaking of LG, did you see the test
they did over in Austin for those robotaxis.

Speaker 4 (54:06):
You mean with the school kids or whatever. That's a
BS test.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
Of course it is use.

Speaker 4 (54:16):
And they used a regular consumer full self driving, which
is not the same as the robotaxis.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
What does that even? You just you're talking gibberish.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
Man. Look, he's given me while you were gone. So
it was last Wednesday. You picked it up, right, LG
when CAP was out of the Yeah, so last last
week when you weren't here, LG was giving me full
rundown of you know, top spec down to the last
thing in the manual. And there were so many things
where I was like, wait, wait, wait, how how does

(54:46):
that work?

Speaker 3 (54:47):
Like what huh?

Speaker 1 (54:48):
This is how you work.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
You take it out, you turn it off, you cut
the wire, and you drive your car.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
Now, this is how you do. You sprinkle a little
gasoline in the top of the carburetor so it SHOs
flames as you started up. That's what we used to
do in high school. Take the hood off so you
can see it. Yeah, I'm curious. I want to get
some footage of it driving us around. I think that'd
be a good bit. You're gonna see me. Just uncomfortable, man,
So uncomfortable. First, it's probably LG sized, so there's a

(55:17):
lot of room there is. I will give him that,
all right, Right, there's a lot of room. Well, uh,
until we get that footage. I know, besides the Tesla,
we were getting some Mario Kart time in before the show.
I played a little mar pretty far. Yeah, it's pretty fun,
not bad, that's pretty fun. Well, uh, before we get

(55:39):
to the main segment. This weekend had so many sports
to talk to, so let's jump through some of them.
I think we have to start with the US Open.
What unopened? Man, that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Oh man, I swear, dude, like it was, dude. So
Oakmont has got to be one of the hardest courses.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
I think it's I think it's universally recognized as at
minimum the hardest course in America, like one of possibly
in the world.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
They say it's like all the Oaks or something or
like are the four hardest courses. And you had all
the big names. D Chambeau didn't even make it, Brooks,
Koepka had a shot in the beginning fell off. McElroy
was sitting there complaining, like, you know, like stop it.
You won the Masters, dude, chill out, you know, like

(56:28):
you ever won anything in like what eleven like seven
eleven years, you know, And I swear it was like
watching me and my boys on the back nine on
the last five holes, just hacking away, hacking away man
getting doubles, getting bogies, and that grass was as thick

(56:49):
as my grass until my long guy came over, you.

Speaker 1 (56:52):
Know, after the rains.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
Yeah, and then you had JJ spawn five bogeys on
the first six holes and.

Speaker 1 (57:00):
Just that that second hole, Yeah, that shot where he
hits the pin, and it was all the way back
off his shots, all the way back onto it because
the other side of it is.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
At a shot like that once and I was like,
how did I hit the pin? And I am in
the rough.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
Right, you know. It was like I would have loved
to see where his ball would have ended up if
it hadn't missed the flagpole, because it was going to
go over, but I think it probably would have stayed
on that top shelf of the green there on two.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
Yeah, they wouldn't have gone where it went.

Speaker 1 (57:34):
It wouldn't have no, No, I mean, I think he
would have still been closer. His face was so dejected. Well,
it was when he did this, like when he literally
scratched his head like, oh that's weird, Like I can't
believe that just happened. It was like you mentioned it
it looked like for most of the weekend it looked
like it was you and your buddies out there playing
moderately easy.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
Yeah, it hadn't just just sitting there, just chunking up
the ground, hitting the grass up everything.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
Rory throwing the club down the fairway in the round two,
and then yesterday he threw the club and it bounced
right back at him and he caught it. It looked
like AI. It looked fake until I watched it a
few times.

Speaker 2 (58:15):
He's probably practiced that, you would think.

Speaker 1 (58:17):
So, yeah, it was you mentioned, you know JJ spawn
the you know, five bogies through the first six, and
it at that point, just looking at the leaderboard, it
looked like he was out of it.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Yeah, it looked like Burns had a good lead and
then you had old man.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
Run. He was making a run.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
But like all these guys like with after like whole fourteen,
you had five guys one over par and you had
sweet McIntyre who was like he was he was he
was making the rush, making the run, put up a
plus one. So he's sitting there and he's like, man,
I don't know if I'm gonna make it, man, because

(58:59):
you know you got the you got the driveable par
four on seventeen, you know, but it's Oakmont, you know,
so there's all like complete everybody could implode, and that's
exactly what started happened. Everybody started to implode except for JJ.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Yeah, and obviously, you know, the highlight of the weekend
is the putt he made on eighteen to win it.
The hot No, the highlight, That's what I was about,
That's what I was about to say. But the highlight
when I say that, the image that we'll see the
rest of our lives when we think of this. Yeah,
the US, it'll be the sixty five foot putt, the

(59:36):
longest putt anyone made all weekend, a putt that he
only had the longest putt ever made to win win win. Yeah,
all he had he had to two putt to win
or three putt, which would have been very easy on
that green, and then him and McIntyre would have been
in the playoffs. So but you mentioned it, the drive

(59:56):
driving the green on seventeen and then Birdie seventeen. That
was the moment where I turned to the roommate. I
was like, he was about fifteen feet away from the
hole for an eagle.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Yeah, I'm like, oh my god. I was like, he's
about to go one up. All he's gotta do is
just par eighteen and like that shot was that was
the killer and what really saved him on eighteen.

Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Even though he hold it was Hobland, he got a
great look at Hi.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Yeah, man, he got he got that read just almost
the exact same thing. Saw that he can hit that
thing firmly and it's not gonna burn past ten ten
feet past the hole and whatnot?

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Which is it because of after the hour and a
half rain delay, that green is now on a different condition,
you don't know, right, So getting Hobland to go right
before him with an identical line.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Because sometimes on the green sometimes you got some heavy
water spots.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
On the green, you got the drainage where it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
Will be fast slow, fast slow, and especially with sixty
five feet, you could probably have three your different speed changes.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
On that thing. Yeah, and you mentioned the puddles. You know,
Burns kind of got screwed by puddles on the course
that everybody's got to hit the same course, buddy. Yeah,
it feels like that one he got he had a
valid argument. I would say, that's that's what he want
he wanted to leave. Yeah, exactly. You probably should have
gotten it there, but I where is He was already

(01:01:23):
in complain like full collapse. Yeah yeah, it wasn't that.
That wasn't going to be the saving grace he needed. I,
you know, I explained the intentions of the US open
to the roommate where, you know, because she kept asking me.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
She's like, why are the scores so low? Why it's
supposed to be the hardest course.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Right, And I was like, well, it's at the hardest
course in America. They do this one specifically at all
of our hardest courses. And she cut the grass a
little lower. That was what she's likes. A little lower.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
The looks the rough a little higher.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
It looks like it's not just the core, you know,
because she was talking about like the church, you bunker,
you know, stuff like that, and she's like, this is
not a course, I think. I normally I don't recognize.
I don't see courses like this when you're watching it,
you know. And so I was explaining that her course.
I wouldn't pull my driver out on god.

Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
Well, except for the fact that it's a seventy.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
Five hundred yard course. So like you've got to use
your driver or you're not even going to make the
green on on a long par four, you know, a
green in regulation. But I was explaining to her, you know,
the purpose, the intention of the US Open. Always every
year they designed the course so that their winner is

(01:02:39):
exactly the goal is to get the winner at even, yeah,
dead even, dead park under well. And that's the thing.
If Spawn hadn't sunk that putt, yeah, he would have
won the tournament at dead even, He would have two
putted yeah part dead even, and would have won with
the second place guy at one over. That was almost

(01:03:00):
the perfect finish in terms of what the US Opened was. Well.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Burns was cruising until they did the delay, the weather delay,
and then he went five over immediately after.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
Yeah. And it's funny too, because he held off on
teeing off. It looked like he was you know which
I that's the right move. I mean you could tell
either someone had told him the delay was coming, or
he was just intentionally being slow at the team. Not
that again, not that it would have changed anything, but

(01:03:33):
just a weird, you know, an hour and a half
rain delay. Although I gotta admit showing Steph some of
those two thousand and eight tile highlights. Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
The incredibleness of him is that put on seventeen like
the Nike ad. Yeah, I was like, that was the
commercial right there.

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
And she even said, you know, she was like, you
know it it sounds different like oh the Tiger, the
Tiger rar And so I got to explain all of that,
you know, lore and legend of Tiger because.

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
He was our ARY's army big time as my dad
liked to call it. And he's like, man, my dad
used to hate Jack Nichols.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Yeah. I uh, it's interesting now because you know when
you when you see a name like JJ spawn at
the top of the leaderboard at the end of the tournament,
I think there's a lot of people out there that,
you know, his only other win on tour is here
in San Antonio at the vto of the Larra Texas Open.

Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
You know, he was about to quit, right, and then
he watched a little movie called Wimbledon Well and he
said it inspired everyone's got So he was an older
guy and he was about to quit and then came
back and won Wimbledon.

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
What is he though, He's what late thirties, Yeah, something
like that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
But I mean, you're getting up there if you only
got one win and you got to pay for we
turn them in you there's only thirty four. You're not
guaranteed the cut. You're not guaranteed money unless you make
the cut.

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Yeah. I saw his total earnings before yesterday. He won
like four million yesterday or something, but his total earnings
before that had been like fifteen million, which again I
mean that's I'll take that. That's pretty great for playing
golf for but.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
You're probably paying like at least a quarter of that
just just entry.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Travel, ent, lodging.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Yeah, no question, trainers, caddies, the question that comes to mind,
you know, because you mentioned the big names, you know,
the guys that were the top ten betting favorites really
played no role whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
I think I had one of them ended up sliding
into the top like top eight by the end. I
think it was either one of them finished right there
inside the top ten, but most of the top ten
betting favorites going into it were absolutely non factors, you know,

(01:05:58):
by the end of the weekend. So I do.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Yeah, it's it's it's a nice story.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Yes, it's a great story. And JJ, you know, spawn
almost beat Rory at the what was it the players
he went to the playoff before he put it in
the water, he.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Changed he changed his uh, chipping and putting coach, So
he changed his coach around the green. And he's drastically
improved from what I from what I was told from
sweet Scott van Pelt, which yeah, better than Jim Nance.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
He looks Nance's again Nance's insufferable. You know, I've I've
made my thoughts on that well known. I Uh, it's
interesting to see where a guy like that where like
because it does, like you said, it seems like he's
a different golfer now than he was two years ago.
So is this potentially the beginning of is he a

(01:06:48):
multiple time major winner now? Or is this the crowning achievement.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
I think he'll I think he'll be in contention and like,
but Noah, he's not gonna do He's not gonna pull
off a run. He's not gonna pull off like a
Kepko or a Scottie run or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Just see the video of Kepka checking out the chicks
ass as he walked by. Yeah, he's married to us
like a supermodel man Instagram. That's about real thing exactly.
The girl that he was looking up and down, a
little thick, little little thing was looking. He was just

(01:07:23):
just thinking, you know, hey, look that's a proper Pennsylvania
a girl right there.

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
That's proper Western.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
P All you girls that want to get skinny, just
know what us guys are looking at.

Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
Yeah, that jelly they get. They get skinny for each other,
not for us, that's for damn sure. But no. I mean,
if if a tournament is compelling enough that the roommate
celebrates when a guy wins it, that's kind of that's
that tells me the average fan got their money's work.
I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
The Masters was amazing, This was amazing. Year of golf
has been pretty like I've seen some of the best golf,
some great meltdowns, you know, and some good storylines. So,
I mean, the second, you know, we're coming up close
to the second half of golf. The next one is

(01:08:15):
the Open, the old British Open.

Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
The the love of God, don't call it the British Open.

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
And all right, it's the fl It's the Open. So
how far are we away from that?

Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
You know? If I mean, it's it's a month, it's
July right, yeah, mid July, so they do it. They
do it every month, so we got that coming up.

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
And then we also, i mean, uh, speaking of other
sports man, you know, hockey's been pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Yeah, yeah, it since we last talked, it still looks
like they got a grip on it. Yeah. We've had
two games since we last talked, and you know, Edmonton
saved themselves in that game four with the overtime win.
They were down three, right, Yeah, that game was nuts.
The first period, they're down three to nothing and it

(01:09:05):
really looks like Florida has the to the neck. We're done,
like we're it's it's time to go to sleep, you know,
just brondeling the life out of them, and then an
amazing comeback. Yeah, thirty three by the end of the
second period.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Well didn't they go up four to three and then
Florida had to hit they get.

Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
The fourth time time. Yeah. Yeah, And I've got for
those that have moved on from hockey, I understand because, uh,
you know, after the Stars went out, it's it's it's
been a great series, but it has, like you said,
it looks like Florida is clearly the better team.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
So Florida the goal you're.

Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
Talking nineteen and a half, nineteen point five seconds left
when Ryn Hart had that tying goal to send it
to overtime in Game four. That's the second latest game
tying goal in Stanley Cup Finals history.

Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
The latest ever was.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
It Game two when Corey Perry did it with eighteen
seconds left. So we'd had the two latest game tying
goals in Stanley Cup Final history in this series so far.
And all of the good vibes of that Edmonton overtime
win come back in Game four. It was absolutely extinguished

(01:10:24):
in Game five when Florida just said now we're back
to yeah, we're back to We're back to.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
Uh yeah, tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
And at this point, you know that Game five, Florida
one five to two, and now Edmonton is undecided on
their goalies, so they had you know, Pickard was the
starter at the beginning of the playoffs. He gets hurt
and then Skinner comes in dominates the Stars, so they
stick with Skinner, and then Skinner's terrible against the Panthers,

(01:10:58):
so they go back to Picard and then is terrible
five to two.

Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
So it's not the goalie though, I mean, Florida is just.

Speaker 1 (01:11:05):
They're good they're good. They're good.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
They seem like they've been a cohesive unit for a
long time.

Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Florida, I mean, this is their third straight Stanley Cup
Final appearance and uh and they won last year. Florida
is doing to Edmonton what Edmonton did to Dallas, where
it just looks like, look, we've hit our limit. We're
not as good as the team across the ice from us.
And it feels like, especially with Edmonton having THEE and

(01:11:32):
they're playing Florida right, They're playing in Florida. So Game
six tomorrow night is back in Florida. If Edmonton can
for I hope you can. Hope you can force it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
You know, I just want to see seven.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
I like to see seven.

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
I mean, we got in Edmonton right with that crowdgold crazy,
and last year it was Game seven in Florida.

Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
Yeah, between these two teams, when Florida won the first
three games, Edmonton won the next three and then Game
seven was in Florida. This year, game seven would be
an Edmonton. So I at the end of the day,
I just I want to see a Game seven, especially
in a Canadian environment where you know, Canadian team hasn't
won the Cup since ninety three. That Game seven environment

(01:12:11):
would be bonkers. Yeah, as Dizzy Rascal would not when
the Canadians burns, Oh dude, they burn everything. Yeah. Do
you remember when when Vancouver won, Oh yeah, Toronto they
absolutely uh, I don't know. It was when Vancouver lost
and then they rioted. I was Thinkingstroid. Yeah, I didn't

(01:12:32):
know if they burned anything. I was like the burned
down Drake's little Chinese restaurant. No, that was just Kendrick
all weekend in Toronto doing the the Canadian leg of
the tour.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Yo, man, how can Drake not feel some sort of
way when they're channing one more time when it's not
like us.

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
I think he probably just looks at his bank account
and says, okay, I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
In his in his BBL, he's got a perfect button.

Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Yeah, I uh, I would still trade. I would still
trade places despite the terrible music catalog.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
Trade places with a pederass hmmm, says a little something
about you there, buddy.

Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
I don't have to I don't have to be the
person that did it beforehand. I just want the money
and the fame now, I'll take that hard. The money.
The money. Yeah, yeah, that's a good deep cuts. That's
actually a good Drake album. I will give you that.
But yeah, no, hockey resumes tomorrow night. Let's slide into

(01:13:36):
a little main segment talk because I mentioned earlier we
have a TV actually set up in the room with us.
So if you are listening along live, did you catch
that stet Halliburn's zero points in the first half. You
can't win games like that. I mean, I know that's
really easy to say, but Indiana doesn't have a roster

(01:13:58):
where I think they're also Haliburton. The games where he
attempts seven or less shots, they lose. It's pretty much
that simple.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
Yeah, I'm like, how like they like, I mean we're
still thirteen. We know what Indiana does, and I mean
they're in they're in OKAC. But like, I mean, you
got to jack up some shot, Like I mean, you're hout,
you're the best guy on your team.

Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Yeah, we're it's seven.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Maybe seven, maybe we can say siakam now.

Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
Seven minutes or so left hairing the third. Indiana hasn't
lost back to back games since mid March. Whoa deep
stat I saw that earlier today. So not only are
you know these are the two since January first, Oklahoma
City and Indiana have the two best records in the league,

(01:14:51):
but Indiana specifically hasn't lost back to back games since
like mid second week of March. Yeah, so this would
be fine, a back to back loss.

Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Well, Halliburn, still, he's about to get some free throws
right now, Let's see how many. Uh so he's zero points,
zero for five, zero for zero free throws Like last game?
Did you see that him? And uh what was the
SGA only attempted free throws in the fourth quarter?

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
Like they had zero free throws out the whole game.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
And that's the Scott Foster effect.

Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
Oh, that's the head that's the head reference. Yeah, that's
that's the extender, the guy that anytime the league wants
a playoff series to be extended, they call in Scott Foster.
And I will say, there were you know, there were
a couple questionable calls in the last two minutes of
that game. There was one time where Halliburton clearly got

(01:15:50):
fouled by Dort and it led to an Oklahoma City
fast break. But then also the out of bounds call. Yeah,
like why why, Well.

Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
He's clearly holding his hand. Come on, man, you just
sealed the game right there. Yeah, because they had to foul.
So all of a sudden, they're up by two, so
you have to foul. They didn't go one in one
least you got a three. You know, you don't have
to play the two points in foul game like you
just decided that game.

Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
And again that's why that's why they call Scott Foster.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
But once you do that, Ford, I guess, well, because
that would have been back to Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
That would have been a three to one Indiana lead.
So you're saying Indiana one. Game four, you're saying NBA
wons Okay, see to win. They wanted them to win
Game four, and I think now they would say, whoever
wins this they want the opposite team to because they
wanted to go seven. I mean they want they want
as long of a series and as compelling of a
series as possible. I do. I mean it felt like

(01:16:52):
it felt like that Game four. I know there's a
lot of rush to say, oh, whoever wins this game
wins the series, but it kind of felt like it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
When you it's like it's like seven percent if you
win game five on the rubber match.

Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
And it gives. What it did is it gives Oklahoma
City home court advantage again. So now it's tied to
to and two of the last three games are in
Oklahoma City, where they have been you know, blasting teams
with some historic proportions at times decibel levels. Yeah, we will.
We'll keep a keep an eye on the game here

(01:17:28):
because I do want to do a little watch along
in the fourth quarter as we're still going. But we
had other information. Vampires. Yeah, the commissioner has looked makeup
or something. He's looked like, uh, he's looked like a
once upon a time in Mexico vampire.

Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
For a while I watched, I made the roommate watching.

Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
It does till done.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
He keeps saying, once upon a time in Mexico. Yeah,
that's uh.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
With once upon a time, Mexico is the desperado thing
dust till dawn as the man.

Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Oh that's oh yeah, okay, that's why I got it
confused still think of yak. Yeah, it's all running together.
I made the roommate and watch all of those. This
weekend we went through the Mexica Robert Rodriguez Mexico trilogy.
But no, we had other news in the league. We
have our first big trade, uh kind of unofficially open,

(01:18:22):
opening the trade season across the league.

Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Yeah, I'm not too familiar with like Orlando, so you
get like you gotta hit me with hit me with.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
The info, man. Yeah, that's their points. What's the So
the interesting the interesting thing to me that immediately jumps
out and a lot of people are running with, oh oh,
you only get one first round pick for Luca, but
Desmond Baine, who's never been an All Star, gets four
first round picks and a pick.

Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Swap, and Orlando made the playoffs. That's right, and I
think for that on the lottery for well, the problem
is they got a bunch of picks from via one
of these.

Speaker 1 (01:18:59):
So the best pick that Memphis got back in the
deal is going to be whichever pick is higher next year,
Phoenix or Washington. We know Phoenix is fire cell trading Durant.
We know Washington is a perpetual dump annual dumpster fire.
So the Grizzlies got a potential top.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
I'm sure my boy out there it doesn't like that
hear that you're about to talk You're about to lose
a top pick after you.

Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
Rebuilding the team on your Phoenix sons. Hey, yeah, Memphis
is Memphis did. Really It's one of those deals where
I think, if you're Memphis, you can't say no to it.
Yeah you didn't. You weren't shopping Desmond Bane. But if
someone offers you that much, you don't, says Bins. A
shooting guard big time. He is OK. He is a

(01:19:44):
solid shoot like forty three point shooter, twenty point a
game guy. He slots in for Orlando. I can understand
why they overpaid. He fits their age timeline. He fits
in well with the Franz Wagner Pallo at Bonco. You
know they're Jalen Subbs. He's with that core. Now he's

(01:20:06):
young as twenty six, twenty twenty six, twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
I believe he's coming up on his first real big contract.

Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
So he's on a big contract. And that was for
the for the Grizzlies. You know, that made this deal
even sweeter because they've you know, obviously had Jahn Morant
locked in long term. They need to get an extension
done with Triple J Jaron Jackson Junior, which now looks

(01:20:33):
like there shouldn't be a whole lot of hurdles to
get that done. And Baine as as well as he
fit that team. Yeah, his number, you know, I think
it's a It was a like one hundred and sixty
million originally over five years or something like that. It's

(01:20:54):
you know, basically, uh, with the way the cap is
working now, to have a third to have your third
guy on a basic max contract, it just limits your
options and team building in constructing making mo it's exact.
That's where so Boston finds themselves in that position. Now,

(01:21:17):
Memphis wasn't there yet, but they could see it coming,
especially with the triple J extension. They're god, no, a
Memphis is awesome, but fun to market. I mean, the
TV market is nowhere near the top half of the league.
But for Orlando, they got a guy that fits their timeline.

(01:21:41):
The one thing that Orlando Magic team desperately needed more
than anything else. Perimeter shooting they've got, They've got defensive identity.
They were one of the best defensive teams in the
league this year and Bain perfectly slots into that starting
Did they overpay for him, Yeah, I think there's no question.
But you got but you got time before you have

(01:22:02):
to pay all your young players exactly, and they're ready
to win now. And you mentioned Boston. You know, I
think this trade happens in large part because of the
taitomnjury exactly right. I think they got an opportunity someone's
they're seeing what Indiana's doing right now with like a
heavy got to be someone's going to represent the East

(01:22:22):
and the finals next year, and who doesn't look like
it's going to be Boston. Who took out Orlando? Boston? Uh,
which one beat Orlando? Was it Cleveland? I can't remember
who they lost to. It might have been Indiana off
top of my head. Uh, can't can't remember. But they
you know they were. I would say now clearly post trade,

(01:22:44):
they view themselves, especially if you remove uh yeah, it
was Boston that knocked Orlando out. Orlando fell all the
way to a seven seed this year. You take Boston
out of the equation. You know, the Calves are the
Calves are the best team in the regular season this year.
Have some potential moves to make, but for the most part,

(01:23:05):
they don't have guys that are about to hit free
agency or anything. So they're they're the same team that
won sixty four games this year that could get better
if they choose to. Obviously, you're seeing the Pacers in
the finals. Now it's a young team that's locked in together.
They're not going anywhere. The Knicks with their questions and

(01:23:27):
whatever big move they try to swing, you know, if
Kat stays on that team or not. Well, yeah, those
three teams is who Orlando is comparing themselves to as
they think about next year with Boston not having Tatum.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
It's almost like Orlando's Spurs trying to creep up in that.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
No question, you know, keep up in.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
That, like, hey, the difference we're here to play type conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:23:52):
The difference is the Spur or the Magic have been
playoff teams the last two years and just haven't been
able to.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
They're they're they're a year ahead of us. I would
have said three years ahead of us, I would have
said we would have been in the playoff team this year.

Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Blood Plots, it's the Killer. But you know the draft
right before Wimby was Palo. Yeah, so like the Magic
are a year ahead and getting their number one pick,
but they're two years ahead of being a consistent playoff team.
They're also on the The East helps a lot of
the East helps. The breaks the East is definitely I mean, granted,

(01:24:34):
I would the way the magic play, they would be
they would be an interesting Western Conference team because they
are more physical and defense.

Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
They just haven't had offense.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
And this is becoming more and more of a thing.
And now it's you know, because it was all offense.
It was all Curry, all three pointers, and like, I'm
sorry again, that was just boring.

Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
But they were.

Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
They were a top ten team and in both that's
what made them great. That's why they win. That's why
they were three games exactly. But that was you know,
that was the anomaly in that thing. But like everybody
else just did the Curry thing, which is like, let
me jack up a bunch of threes. Alah boss and
the most threes jacked up.

Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
Alah Houston with Harden Allah, the seventy six ers whenever
wherever hard win.

Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
No, it does.

Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
I think you're you know, going back to the reason
the Thunder and the Pacers have been the two best
teams since January one. They've also had the two highest
defensive efficiency ratings since January one. And they're young. Yeah,
and when it gets to the playoffs, which would go
back to my thing, young, it's all about in the playoffs,

(01:25:49):
you've got to have guys that can create their own
shots and a good defense. It's it doesn't I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
So so stoked for Dylan Harper.

Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
We better not do it thing now the Harper. So
that's got to be a lock. That's gotta be a lot.
We talked about it a little bit last week because
some idiot had to report out Sam Amiko had to
report out that the Spurs weren't locked into Harper at
number two. No, that's okay. So this is and this
is what I want to talk about because now that

(01:26:21):
this Magic grizz trade is complete and we're officially in
trade season, the Magic Grizzly, that's the old Johnny Man's
Sison Magic Grizzlies. I don't think people thought Desmond Bane
would be the first piece moved this offseason. Yeah, but
now that he has, and it was you know KCP

(01:26:44):
Cole Anthony for first that I mentioned all unprotected and
then one pick swap as well. That's a big, big
hole for a guy that is on the tier of
All Star. Yeah, which immediately people rush to, well, if
Desmond Bane is worth that, then Kd's gotta be worth.

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
So you think he's gonna set the market high.

Speaker 1 (01:27:08):
I think It's one of those kind of like the
go beart that Gobert was four first round picks or
Michel Bridges was five first round picks. I don't think
those deals set the market. They set the narrative.

Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Yeah, so it definitely gave the agents the juice been
up there to be like, we needed one more pick,
we need one more first rounder.

Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
And that's what's happening right now with the KD sweep
six LGD. You have that audio I sent you because
we got some update on where things stand with KD,
and you mentioned it. We're now to the point of
the KD narrative where it's agents are releasing certain information
to certain reporters, the team's front office is releasing certain

(01:27:54):
information to certain reporters, and then national guys like Wendy
are the ones that are sitting there basically on live
TV saying, look, the agents wanting to go to one
of these three places. The front office wants him, wants
to trade him to the best whatever package get best. Yeah,
and so now it's this public battle between the two. Yeah.

(01:28:16):
But we got this update regarding KD of the exact
teams that are still involved.

Speaker 5 (01:28:24):
What I understand the three teams on Durrant's list, Miami,
San Antonio, and Houston have not made offers that have
gotten Phoenix excited to this point. To this point is
very important. Minnesota was aggressive at mid season, and Minnesota,
from what I understand, has been the most aggressive team
in these trade talks. I do think Toronto is lurking
out there. Toronto is making the number nine pick in

(01:28:45):
this draft, in addition to some players available in multiple
different scenarios, and I think the LA Clippers are lurking
out there as well. But I would say, right now,
if I had to put a favorite, I definitely think
Minnesota is the team that's been most aggressive.

Speaker 2 (01:28:58):
And that's where how they're gonna have to give up
with someone like it would be to match salary cap
other picks.

Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Yea. The the interesting the inclusion of Toronto potentially offering
the number nine pick. I think that's the best asset
Phoenix could get in this Katie trade. Like getting the
number nine.

Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Pick first round, We'll give you the unprotected Atlanta pick
for next year.

Speaker 1 (01:29:24):
See the Spurs are they're not even also again, you know,
but all of this is trust your trust, your sources,
Verify your sources. But it seems like the Sons have
turned down an offer of Devin Vessel, Harrison Barnes, the
number fourteen picky, and future second round draft capital.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
Oh so we're trying to keep our future first correct exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:29:49):
Okay. And the part where this gets really interesting to me,
if Katie really really really wants to come to San
Antonio over you know, the inclusion of Houston and Miami
as the three preferred destinations. If San Antonio is clearly
the top of that list, him and his team, him

(01:30:10):
and his agent can't apply a shit ton of pressure
to the Phoenix front office to try to get him
to San Antonio. And right now, just from reading the
tea leaves from Afar, it feels like that's kind of
what's happening. And Phoenix is telling Minnesota Toronto Clippers, telling

(01:30:31):
them like.

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
So much history between Phoenix and Spurs too.

Speaker 1 (01:30:34):
Exactly, like you've got to You've got to offer us
a deal that is so good that we will tell
Kevin Garnett all right, tell Kevin Durant, I know you
want to go to Houston or San Antonio, but look, man,
what Toronto is offering that's too good for us to
pass up. Sorry, we're not trying to screw you over.

(01:30:54):
We told you we'd try to get you to a
preferred destination. But look, these offers just they're trying.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
They're trying to like weezel out of three fourteen deals.

Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
One thousand, and it's like stretch.

Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
You guys sit there with like you know, Brad Pitt
moneyball on and being like let's throw this up here,
you know, with the magnets and stuff, and be like,
let's get this one, get this one. But you know,
here's me if we don't get KD.

Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
Yeah, and that's where it's at.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
Yeah, maybe he could show Weinby some stuff, but Winby's
learning his you know, Buddha, Like.

Speaker 1 (01:31:27):
It looks like a shy shouting.

Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Look he's gonna come in and get about three hundred blocks.

Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
He don't come in.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Look, he's gonna sit there.

Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
He's gonna block it with his mind. He's gonna be
like as long as it as long as it blocks
out any blood clots forming in the future. Yeah, we're
down to a six point game with a minute and
a half six point game in the third quarter, I
should say you're still up the fourth Yeah, I think
you're exactly right if if the Spurs, if they so,

(01:31:58):
Phoenix apparently wants either f Castle or so Hand in
the deal, And first of all, Castle absolutely not. We've
talked about that for all of the reasons.

Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
That's such a good defender and he's such a good
team player.

Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
And this is where like, if it came down to
the final minute and Phoenix said, look, guys, he really
wants to be there, He's gonna sign an extension with y'all,
Wimby wants him. Y'all know Weimby wants him. Just give
us so Hand. And if the Spurs actually did that,
I don't like it would be it would be an
instant reaction of man, that's that's probably gonna be stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
But then we got then we got liability on defense
with Durant.

Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
You know, And the whole point is not to out.

Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
You're not worried about Durant defensively, what.

Speaker 2 (01:32:45):
Is the theme right now? It's not outscoring. It's better
d sure, but.

Speaker 1 (01:32:51):
It's also if if in the footnotes of history, Jeremy
Sohan is included in a deal for KD, I don't
think there's going to a lot of You're like, that
was the worst trade because of Germany.

Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
And again I wouldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
I'll repeat again, I would absolutely stand firm and not
include anyone besides like a Cell, Barnes or Kelden. Those
are the three names, Phoenix, you have to choose from
pick two of those three will give you the fourteenth pick,
and then maybe you can weasel a twenty thirty seven

(01:33:28):
first round pick out of twenty first exactly exactly like
I would rather.

Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Be one of the two teams we got. I would
rather give up this.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
I would rather the Spurs give up their own twenty
thirty pick instead of giving up so hand because like
you said, let's build that foundation around the defense that
he provides and the timeline age wise. But someone has
to blink in these negotiations. We got nine days, right,
It's something is going to happen on all before draft. Knight,

(01:34:02):
Call call a day, Call a day. I think we
get I think we I think we're less than forty
eight hours away.

Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
I think yeah, because I'll tell you why.

Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
You say before podcasts Wednesday, you think we're gonna get
Kevin Durant trade.

Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
I do. And obviously this is just gut like no
sources or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:34:23):
Really Game five, Game six, depending on if Indiana wins,
I'll match that bet. Now if Okay, See wins, I'm
gonna say Friday. Oh, just I think they're gonna think
they're gonna try to.

Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
I think I think Phoenix wants enough. They don't want
to do this deal on Draft night. They don't. They
want time to because their roster construction is going. Their
moves this offseason are way more than just trading Durant.
Now there's going to be dominoes after that that they
are going to want to have time.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
Conspiracy theory, NBA is pushing this deal to happen on
Draft night just to get the views.

Speaker 1 (01:35:07):
Okay, the NBA is the league that is most likely
to actually have a conspiracy theory. That is true. I
totally hear. But I'll tell you you know, we're about
to talk about one of a potential Spurs free agent

(01:35:29):
option that was taking off the board. This free agent class,
the free agent class this year is awful. It is
is one of the worst in ten years. It's a
really really low quality free agent class. There's not going
and only one team has enough salary cap space to

(01:35:50):
even offer a max contract, and that's the Nets. So
free agency is not going to be where the moves
take place. It's going to be We're about to see
the trades between now and Draft Night is going to
be where the majority of player movement takes place. And
so I think these teams are wanting I think they

(01:36:14):
I think Phoenix wanted to do the Durant deal this
past weekend so that they would have a full week
and a half to start plotting the next move and.

Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
Expressed I don't want to go to minute to Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
And someone had found an old tweet of his where
they were on a road trip in Minnesota and he's like, guess,
cold as hill of here. I don't know how y'all
do it. He's not He's not well Baltimore through Texas too,
but still not Minnesota. You know, that's the land of
Chet Holmgren. I think Phoenix wanted to do the trade
this weekend, and now the battling of Durant's camp leaking

(01:36:52):
stuff to certain media members and the Sun's leaking stuff
to certain media members, that tells me from the outside
Phoenix wanted this deal done already, and Kadi is now
leveraging them to try to get somewhere that he prefers
without Phoenix really having to take a much lesser overall return.

(01:37:19):
But again, someone has to blink. I don't think the
Spurs are gonna blink and include so hand. I don't
think the Sons are gonna blink and take the current
Spurs deal. So if neither one of them blink, it
feels destined that he ends up in Minnesota or Toronto.

(01:37:43):
Toronto is the hockey fan.

Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
It depends on how It depends on how much they
like really, you know, they don't. Well, if there was
relationships soured with Kadi as much as we thought it was.

Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
I mean they tried to Minnesota and San Antonio tried
to trade for him at the deadline. So Phoenix has
been Phoenix has been working under the assumption that we
are getting out of the Kevin Durant business. Yeah, and
it probably started before the trade deadline, to be honest.
If they were already in deep discussions with multiple teams

(01:38:17):
at the trade deadline, I mean the rumblings and the
conversation line had probably been opened before that. But it'll
be interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
Well, I say, you want to shoot lightning Roun because
we're coming in the fourth quarter, you got anything real quick.

Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
The name I mentioned, Steven Adams, who you had mentioned
on a show last week. I wouldn't mind him down low,
no one. I mean Houston doesn't mind him staying down
low for them too. He re signs with the Rockets
three years, he sent money thirty nine million dollars. I mean,
nothing's crazy, But so.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
Who else in free agency is out there? It had
to be like you said, there's nobody in free agent.

Speaker 1 (01:39:01):
It is sparse. It's just it's so sparse that the
corpse of Steven Adams was arguably a top a top
three big man available year a three year. What's that
thirteen million dollars a season? Like, there's not gonna be
a whole lot of deals that are given out for
more than thirteen to eighteen million dollars. It is a poor,

(01:39:25):
poor class.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
And I don't see I don't see too many people
trying to like, I mean, the Spurs are rich right now.
I don't see too many people being like, hey, we're
gonna have to deal with these guys in two to
three years, especially in the Western Conference. I don't see
a lot of free agents coming our way. Western Conference.
We'd have to look on the Eastern Conference area.

Speaker 1 (01:39:44):
Now and you mentioned the the evolving focus on defense.
Steven Adams his defensive rating or the Rockets defensive rating
when he was on the court, it's night and day
compared I mean his plus minus. Uh like good or
bad o great? Like they were such a better rebounding

(01:40:04):
and defensive team when he which makes sense. He was
all right, and so he uh is off the market.
When you said it that night, I I you can
see it happen. Well. I laughed at it at first
because but then looking at this free agent class and
realizing ship Steven Adams is one of the best three
big men available, and then looking and then looking at

(01:40:27):
his actual impact on the Rockets this year when he
was on the court versus when he was off. We
just need that dog down low, man so we can
stretch outside. It would have been a perfect fit. But unfortunately, Uh,
he's a pretty good fit in Houston and he stays there.
So boom, all right, LG hit me o the boom

(01:40:51):
That sounded like the Iranian news network earlier.

Speaker 3 (01:40:54):
Did y'all see that video?

Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
It got bombed on as they were doing a live report,
and the ladies like, it's like oh what's freaking out?

Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Just runs off screen?

Speaker 1 (01:41:02):
Sorry, sorry any side tracked.

Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
I didn't know if he knew this, but in his
rookie year, Ronard Tests and the Bulls in nineteen ninety nine,
who made one million dollars, took a job for Circuit
City for one day a week so he could get
the fifty percent discount and be the plug for all
his my man for all his homies.

Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
That's another that is just oh I love add.

Speaker 1 (01:41:25):
Added to the list is awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Yeah, give him a coaching job already. Come on, man,
like that guy. He will die for you. He will
work at Circuit City for you.

Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
Well, also, he would instill some toughness into this current
generation of NBA. A superstar hit me, LG. I want some.
So we talked about it last week, the rising level
of concern surrounding the US men's national team, the soccer team.
They were on a four game losing streak for the

(01:41:58):
first time since os which also included the cycle in
twenty seventeen twenty eighteen when they missed the World Cup.
They still didn't even lose four games in a row then. Yeah,
so things were looking I mean, they.

Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
Gave up four first half goals to.

Speaker 1 (01:42:15):
Switzerland, but then we beat their little butts. We got
we got a small dose of revenge against Trinidad and
Tobago and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
We got South Africa and Haiti.

Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia and Haiti. US get the five
nothing win this weekend on Sunday, Mexico, there was some
serious concern in that opener they had against the Dominican Republic.
It would a Dominican Republic is not like like there
is still a baseball country that soccer is miles behind.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
The rest of car they were putting it on them.

Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
Mexico only won three to two, and it was yeah,
and there were there were chances for the Dominican of them.

Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
So they're in a weird couple of years.

Speaker 1 (01:43:03):
It's interesting because you know, the US has all of
the the US has more players playing in Europe than
they ever had have ever. Mexico has guys that are
also playing in Europe right. But what they've done is
they have found finally now it seems to get their
foot back, to get some tracking. Uh. They've got a

(01:43:26):
good mix of young academy like Lega MX guys mixed
with like you're ruel Jumenez. They called in uh uh Ohoa,
the longtime GOALIEY called him back. And they're blending some
older guys now with the young up and comers, and
it feels like they've found a balance. The US looked

(01:43:47):
like I was genuinely worried about this game, and then
I like to win, to win five to nothing, I'm
not ready to declare the confidence level is back.

Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
It's still because it's the Gold Cup. We should win this.

Speaker 1 (01:44:02):
Well, it's Mexico's tournament to lose. They are the defending
champ and they look despite the shakiness in the opener,
I think they're still.

Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
Two years or I thought we won the last what
was it? It was it concaft.

Speaker 1 (01:44:15):
Yeah, there's so many fake tournaments nowadays.

Speaker 2 (01:44:18):
But hear me, l g oh, how I love Dallas
Cowboys Cowboys Nation promax breaking Dallas Cowboys star running back
see lamb is poison returned to his m v P
level play two seasons ago.

Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
What a it said? Running back? It said? Running back? Yeah?
What are you? What you is this like? Okay, so
you find you find some random Cowboys blocks nobody?

Speaker 2 (01:44:53):
This is subscribed millions of people.

Speaker 1 (01:44:56):
Millions of people?

Speaker 3 (01:44:57):
Is wrong and five.

Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
This is five thousand comments. I'm just saying, this is
so Cowboys? Now, what's so cowboys? Is uh losing in
the playoffs? Yes, that is that graph.

Speaker 3 (01:45:11):
Usually they kill it in the graphic department.

Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
Hit me LG. The news. We have all been waiting
for the legend, the man, the myth, the individual whose
triumphs are translated into every language known to man, including cleon.

Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
Joey Chestnut.

Speaker 1 (01:45:32):
He is back.

Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
He reached a deal.

Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
He will be back at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating
Contest on July fourth after missing it the last few
years because he signed an exclusive sponsorship deal with one
of these hot dog right.

Speaker 5 (01:45:50):
Year.

Speaker 1 (01:45:51):
So they want a piece of the Joey Chestnut train again.
They realized that. They realized it was like, this is
bull I know, I guarantee you a stupid Does it
sounds He's absolutely worth every bit of a twenty percent
ratings bump? Yeah? Yeah, he is definitely. Oh man, I

(01:46:11):
I don't have too much Hit me LG.

Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
Last last Wednesday was my man who is I will
call the goat Joe Montaneous birthday. I like to say
a happy birthday out to you, four time champs. Stud
never lost in Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
You know what, my favorite thing about him is.

Speaker 1 (01:46:34):
The fact that he called out Rudy on his bs
of like, dude, no, no, you weren't any kind of
emotional lift for us at Notre Dame, Like you were
a nobody. We don't. We have no idea who you were.

Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
He's like, that's a Disney movie exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:46:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
I've always always respected Joe Montana for his staunch anti
Rudy stance because that's one I it's one we share.
It's the only thing I share with the Hall of Quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
I got his shirt coming because I like to make
my own shirts, you know, a little picks off the
internet where it's sweet Joe cool before the Super.

Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
Bowl, just sitting on the wall, sitting on.

Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
The ground, full pads and everything, just chilling, just chilling,
and you're like, man, this guy's unbreakable.

Speaker 1 (01:47:18):
Like that is, unless you Steve Young.

Speaker 2 (01:47:23):
He has he has the six touchdowns in the Super
Bowl as a record.

Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
All right, can we give him that? It is the
record is the record. I guess we can hit me LG.
Something is wrong here. Yeah, we played you missed that
last week too. We played the Charles Ramsey I forgot
how great it is. You could have had had some
big old balls something language. Man, they picked the like,

(01:47:53):
why did you do that to that guy? Dude? They
made his life. He's everyone knows the greatness of Charles Rams.
Did either one of y'all see catch any of the
College World Series? Earlier today? I saw Louisville be Arizona. Yeah,
my the roommates grad school, alma mater, University of Arizona,

(01:48:15):
the house that Miles Simon and Mike Bibbie built, and
Jason Terry as a six man on that ninety seven
championship team. Yeah, Arizona eliminated. Earlier today, though, Murray State
got eliminated making their first appearance. Wow, so they're this Cinderella. Yeah,
they the home of the house that John Morant built.

(01:48:35):
There you go, they got eliminated, But more importantly the
way they got eliminated. Arkansas's Gauge Wood through the first
no hitter at the College World Series since nineteen sixty
and even.

Speaker 3 (01:48:50):
Even more impressive, he struck out nineteen.

Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
Yeah. He the first twenty one batters he faced didn't
reach Bay. The twenty second batter he hit by a
pitch with a two strike.

Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
Count did he and hento it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
It was burning a break He was burning a breaking
ball to try to get the strike and.

Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
Enough to get guys, that guy's getting plugged next time
I see.

Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
Well, I mean like at the end of the day,
it's an elimination game and you need base runners. So
I don't I mean the history of a no hitter
or a perfect game at that point, it's more about
they're trying to not be eliminated and sent home from Omaha.
But more importantly, besides history no hitter at the College

(01:49:44):
World Series. Are either one of you boys familiar with
the Rocos Bar and Grill Jello Shot Challenge? No, okay,
so I remember Roccos World, the cartoon. So Roccos it's
Roco's Pizza and cantina restaurant. They're in Omaha, and for

(01:50:05):
the last few year, I mean it's been going on.
It feels like it has to have been close to
a decade now because I wait for this every year.
They do a Jello Shot Challenge where every all eight
teams that make it to Omaha all get put on
the board and you walk in. If you're a fan

(01:50:26):
of one of the teams, you say, you know I
want four Jello shots, and I'm a Murray State fan,
I'm an LSU fan, I'm a whoever Whoever's made it right.
And the cool thing about it is every year, proceeds
from every single shot sold go to food banks from
cities where all the eight teams are from. That's pretty dope,

(01:50:48):
as well as the Omaha Food Bank where the College
World Series is. So you might think, well, how much
money can they raise by selling jello shots? Last year
they gave out one hundred and almost one hundred and
forty six thousand dollars one on jello shots. And then
you start any bad decision. Then you start doing the

(01:51:12):
math to try to figure out, well, how is that
possible to raise that much money? And each year they
do noon updates and then they do an evening update
and they post the leader board. This is this year's
current standings on the Jello Shot Leaderboard. Murray State first

(01:51:34):
time in Omaha, very very respectable number in the Jello
Shot Challenge.

Speaker 3 (01:51:40):
Six six hundred and seventy two.

Speaker 1 (01:51:42):
Jello shots boys by Murray State fans and that is
so respectable that puts them in second place.

Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
Wow, So East Jehot's gotta be five dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:51:54):
I think that's exactly what it is. I think it's
five dollars each. Arkansas is in third place. They have
fifty nine hundred jello shots to their tab. LSU is
in first place they have thirteen thousand. They dude, and

(01:52:18):
they're Cajun LSU fans. So you know their rallity as
ship just getting give me give me a hurricane with.

Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
That jealous shot exactly. You know their rally.

Speaker 6 (01:52:30):
Uh So, Yeah, I I keep an eye on the
h I love a good I love a bit like
that where it's you get back, it's you're getting you're
making bad decisions but for good causes.

Speaker 1 (01:52:44):
Yeah, that's kind of the perfect balance to find here. Exactly,
hit me one more time, LG and we'll wrap it up.
These allegations are false, you guys, dang right. Uh do
have a new GTA online update dropping in the morning.
I'll probably be hopping in on some of that tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:53:02):
I just I can never get on the like, I'm like,
give me a new game. I can't never get on
those updates or what anything. The like the perpetual it's
the same map, it's like a different storyline. Here go
to here, and do this.

Speaker 1 (01:53:15):
So I do it where I do it where when
something new comes out, I'll play it for like a
week or two, and then I'll drop it for how
much is it? How much is it too? How much
is an update? So they're free, they're free. The updates
are free, so it's not like a DLC package. So
it it. This is where they screa. So it cost
in game credits to purchase it, and you gotta you

(01:53:38):
gotta build them up, or you can or you can
get either pay for the Shark card to pay to
get in game money, or you sit there and grind
where they have it where it's so unfair to make money.

Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
It takes you forever.

Speaker 1 (01:53:51):
It's incredibly predatory, incredibly awful. But since GTA six has
been delayed till who knows whens used to be next summer,
I've jumped back in on uh the online, but I
figured here for the last five minutes or so, we're
so we can't these are the rules. We can't do
play by play because we will get flagged for that,

(01:54:13):
but we can give time stamps. And right now we
are at the eight twenty five mark, and it is
a ninety five to three game.

Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
Speaking of all e Bomb's corner, did you did you
ever get that loaded up there?

Speaker 1 (01:54:27):
Lg oh God, please tell me now.

Speaker 2 (01:54:34):
We will save it for Wednesday, maybe sports Cave.

Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
We have a goal.

Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
We have a great video for you.

Speaker 1 (01:54:42):
It is. It is a running joke. That's right, it is.

Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
We finally got it whenever I dominated, this girl wan
to arm Russell Puma. No, this is gonna gig.

Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
She got it. She got it, but we don't. We
don't they. I'm not gonna say it was an easy victory.

Speaker 2 (01:54:59):
But we have we have, we have victory. Well we have,
we have video.

Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
We'll let the video speak for itself, and then I
will I will defend my honor afterwards. So when we
were when I walked to the restroom the other night,
when we were at the bar when this happened, she
saw me and she were walking past each other and
I recognized her. I recognized her. I was like, I
think I know this person. And then so she went

(01:55:27):
up for a high five, and so I was like,
all right, screw it, I'll get a high five. I
don't care. And when I did, she grabbed my thumb
and like to put like like she was going to
try to bring. I was like, what the hell? Yeah?
That was yeah. So then then I remembered it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:40):
Was the oh yeah, and Poople comes over and wist,
is man, that girl almost took my thumb off.

Speaker 1 (01:55:44):
And I'm like, you almost took his thumb up and
he's like, gay man, Well, well we'll fire that up.

Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
We'll close.

Speaker 1 (01:55:52):
I'll tell you what. We'll close Wednesday's episode.

Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
Yeah, because did you get the video of me just
dominating her like I told you to do like a man.

Speaker 1 (01:56:01):
No again, this is what happens. This is what happens
when you go second. Oh, it's way way easier to
hold to get in there second, going first. You sleep
well on that lie, cap. I gotta tell myself something
to get through the night. LG.

Speaker 3 (01:56:23):
Let's get out of here. Let's watch the rest of.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
This game in your living room as we wrap up
another episode. I can't tell y'all enough how much we
all appreciate your support. Please want to reach out Find
me on x at Biggest Puma Instagram, Biggest Dot Puma
