going down today, getting on the grill. How gonna show
y'all what's hating in and check it out. Y'all ain't
had this before. I got that truth juice today. So

(01:31):
But for first, pour me some truth juice. You can
only imagine what's in this. It's gonna bring the truth out, baby,
So come on there and join us the Truth Lounge.
Let's get it. I started getting more serious once I
started having kids. You know, It's something that I saw
my mom always doing in the backyard. She was always
(01:52):
throwing stuff on. So when I got to college, you know,
I started learning recipes. But then in the summertime when
she get on the grill, you know, I'm asking her,
this is what you put on this, steaks, chicken, fish, burgers.
So I wanted to learn how to do that. That's
just a a common trait, you know when y when
you growing up, moms didn't buy no fast food. She
was always cooking, So I need to learn some recipes.
So I it just it's just tradition for me and
(02:13):
my family. My my family always was on the grill,
so it just I just picked it up. It's something
I like to do. It brings families together. When I
got the kids friends you know over here, we just
throw the grill down, have some drinks and it just
bring us all together.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Man it. This is just another way to come together.
And that's what I like to do.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Oh yeah, they didn't get getting ready now they shit
they uh they they pretty much did.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Did you get that?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I got it from a uh a gud came to
my house.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
He was a uh he was a a great uh
tattoo artists from uh from New York. Yeah, and he
drove from New York to Boston. Did it right in
my house?
Speaker 4 (02:54):
And when was that?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I think this was? This was late too.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
This was like okay, I I don't think I got
this until like two thousand and like ten, or I
think I got this in two thousand and ten. I
think when two thy twelve or something. Shack was like,
why you ain't got the tattoo?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
The truth?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I was like, yeah, you right, So I got.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
On the squad.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah yeah he did.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
That's cool.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
True three Yeah he did. I swear he did.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
It was a full circle moment. Shack like, why you
ain't got the truth tattoo.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I was like, you right, I wasn't really big on tattoos,
but I was like, I gotta get the truth tattoo.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
When Shaq said that, I got it all.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Who ready for the truth? Burner?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Ain'tla Keisha?
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Aight Keisha? Right after quay learning that catch us? Welcome
to the truth, lounges man. We got on the grill today.
It's a beautiful day here sunny California. We brought it outside.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I got jay Crow, as you know, as usual from
my man Ta Tony Allen, my guy a one from
day one.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Let's jump right back into the league.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Man. Rockets on a ten game winning streak right on
Golden State?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Ass what y'all think about that? As y'all rolling, do
y'all want the Rockets or Golden State? Because I was saying, look,
they been rolling without sing Gung ten game winning streak,
and I know he is a productive player, bro, but
I'm like, sure you can flip him for another veteran
that can give y'all some some valuable experience next year.
(04:25):
But what y'all think moving forward?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
This year?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
You want to see the Rockets end because if they're
gonna have to pop Golden State who you rather see,
because I think.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Curry got one more run in him.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I'm not ready for the Rockets to be in that
light right now because I would rather see Lakers Golden
State maybe play a one game elimination. Rockets got time,
they young, we can catch them next year. I mean,
what's your thoughts on that? What you think you want
to see the Rockets? I definitely don't believe they gonna
make it. Honestly, I believe in Curry.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
I don't never test the heart of champions for one thing,
A show two for certain, but more so importantly getting
rid sant Goon, I think it's all that.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Look that's crazy, but I think this just because you.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Just unlocked Green, we ain't saying Green.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Okay, well, let's sant Goon sit back and watch and
add he's too talented and young to just get a
little old vet to. You could just add that anyway
to a winning team with low money.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Just simply because look, you gotta look at him at
that look, look look at the Lendo Magics. You know
what I'm saying, team full of guys. We don't really
know of number one pick plo. Look what he's done
with that team and two coming into it. So I
just think that type of team with your boy Jabbari Smith.
You know what I'm saying, they gonna have a chance
to beat that team for next year.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
But I don't want to get back to Stoon do check. No,
let's sing goon. Who is this comparable?
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Who?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Who he can? What's in sealing?
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Who?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Who is this comparable? Bonus m I mean who.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
He giving me? Al Jefferson Babs. Trade that pick.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
If you can get, I mean, trade him for jokes,
but you can't get. Yeah, I'm s what's the ceiling
is celing his jokes? Ceiling year? The kind of games
and performance he's put fourth this year? Yes, sir, he
could do everything out there?
Speaker 3 (06:21):
What's what's Jayalen Green's comparable?
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Jalen Green is comparable. He's an attacking, electrifying guard.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
I mean I heard some people say Kobe he got
he got some superstarles.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
I mean, yeah, I don't like I like more of
a I don't like Kobe comparisons because he don't work
out the post.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
He don't work second. He's only the second, third, third year.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yeah, but I'm not gonna make him. Kobe was watching
Jordan's from day one. He came in ready to go.
But I like what they building. I think they just
figuring it out. That's what happened for You.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Have to choose one, Jayden Ring or single who taking
sing gooon?
Speaker 3 (07:03):
For sure? Single? We started in that block. Come on, man,
they just had Jalen Green on the bench about to months.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah, he just wasn't he just.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Two months ago? He had that baby. Man, that man
that went crazy. He got kids the feet he.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
He gottaking to that why I want to see I
don't want to see the Rockets. I want to see
the Rockets play, the play the Lakers in the playing
and see what's popping. They get a chance to play
Golden State in this next run. If they losing them,
then hey go to States. You are you are what
(07:41):
you are. But if you get popped by the Rockets,
step to the side that they don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
We want to see the Warriors in the playoffs. I
don't want basketball. It's good for Brandon for the league.
Bro come on, Broke, Kerry need another shot at that title. Man,
at least a chance. If he don't get it, he
needs he needs to need a chance.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
He in tenth place.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
It's a playing You see what they got going, man,
all type of new basketball. I got another bro, I
got another hold on, hold on, hold on cube. Just
offer Kaitlan Clark five million. Forget the money. Kaitlin Clark
in the in the Big Three. She can get a bucket,
not on me.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Can she get a can't get a bucket. And I
don't think if she could be everybody.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Check this out, take this out. You're the Big Three.
Kaitlin Carr, come in, they give her a bag. She
inferd of you, you guard.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I'm saying, though, it's cass hot.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
That she got that bad. Sure you down there, we
get man, come on, come on, get ownership. She was
getting a full hand check.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Back in the eighties nineties. She can want them the
lead dog. That's gonna be everybody here. If she gets
five mill and she pull up and everybody get like
two thousand, man, say, man, listen, that's gonna blow me.
It's in the game, bro, So now you you can't
hate on it. You also what you signed for us, right,
(09:15):
that's your value.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
You know how the game go. But when the game
get intense and and look, they're gonna put that blanket
on it.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Then, look you.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Brother, you only playing this is the money right here.
Cut the commercial. You're gonna find out the commercial champ.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
They gonna call it like they say. It's in the game,
all right, So check this up. We're gonna do a
vote first Team All Defense.
Speaker 1 (09:44):

seen you she giveing go coming off that down.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
She got to step back and she got deep range.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
She was not to go her.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
She ain't doing that at the t A though she's smart.
Speaker 1 (10:39):

them buggers on Rio one.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
That's crazy. She for sure hitting the four pointer on him.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Kaitlin got the better chance of jumping off the fiftieth
flow landing on her feet, so she get a bucket
on me. That's what I'm trying to tell you.
Speaker 4 (11:12):

That's close. Was bringing very close.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
And I'm not coming off like I'm gonna be something.
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
It's not comparable. Give us a better comparable.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
It's more physical.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
They still play.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
He's at the top of his game versus another girl.
I still play. You don't play basketball.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
The game weight be more physical and ice Cube letting
the hand check go, he letting the arm bottom go.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
He's trying to get himself going. He gotta worry about
his competition. What's all this fake competition he's talking about
right now? Who is he's gonna catch the soccer. He's
supposed to race Cat Williams. I can't judge. I'm supposed
to raise Vita be be Cat Williams. Before you talking
about anybody, anybody in the uf L. You racing Bara,
(12:25):

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Put some respect on his name. I'm racing Vita. What's
his name?

Speaker 3 (12:52):
What's my name being?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
After that, he's gonna be like hey, just like take.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Paul lining him up.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Then I'm coming after Cat Williams. After that, we're gonna
racing forty. After that, we're gonna turn this this real

Speaker 4 (14:21):
I trained that the kind of person I am, I
don't respect always the type person. Can't nobody come off
their lunch yard and beat me when I'm training? He
trained six days a week. Kill What am I talking about?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Was looking at the heavy gods ship the couch Q
call me a t A. What's up?
Speaker 4 (14:39):

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Come on? Come on, jump in the league. Real, fam, man,
we need you know, the rat to come through that
leave me and then that's how he hit me with that.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I'm saying, get in the league, listen, so that leave me.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
To this, all right? Tell me this. Who is the
top five hardest cast you guarded in the league.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I know I'm one. Who's so who to I'm gonna
give you that, people, and I'm gonna take it for
I'm gonna take it for the ladder. I'm gonna gonna
get it to the lounge. Bro, I ain't gonna lie
to play this man every day, one on one, man,
every day, one on one.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Beat me to the gym.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Get here before the gym on one. Come on, bro,
it's on. So what I'm gonna say is, man, you
brought you might be one all right?
Speaker 4 (15:18):
After that?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Who the hardest cast the guard ever in the history
and the guys you guarded.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go cold,
obviously cold. That's the only guy filed me out at six.
He found me out eight minutes, six thousand and eight minutes.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
What's you going for?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Every pump fake? You remember you cursed me out after
the game and I saw brains when you curse me
out of the girl was like, I was hurt that
I was hurt that game. No, you told me, bro
see that's what I told you. Don't listen.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
You don't listen.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
You're right, I remember found out and then and I'm
gonna have to go KD. Man, I ain't never seen
nobody just turn around, fade away and right on them
right and I'm on him. And I tried to read
right on him and my hands right here at his elbow.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
He was hitting it.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
I couldn't hit it at that time.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Ai at when you came in.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Was he at his hey day or was he you know,
A I was ready to get out of Philly at
that time. You know it was we was taking over
by then.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
We you know, all right, so you got okay me
Colby KD? Then who oh, who got you buckets? Let
me see, I'll go I'll go flash d Wade, Let's
go d Way, I'll go Da.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
That's a good one. That's your position, all right.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
So d Wade, I thought he was a matchup. That
was Taylor for you. Though.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
You gotta figure, you gotta figure, like like I was
telling somebody this earlier like, all right, say we say
we get the pick and roll in order, right, and
he go one for four out the pick and roll.
He the type of cat man that can go get
three rebounds them three putbacks. He could go three back cuts,
that's six points. And he could also get to the
lane and transition and get two and one fouls. You
(16:57):
know what I'm saying for you know it? You look up,
he got sixteen seven points. Guess who got Tony al
and looking at me crazy? So let's get a let's
get a score.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
But that's not giving you problems because that's really like
if you were cross matching and you're looking at the
box scores are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (17:15):
He ain't no cross matching. He's saving them fouls. That
man ain't come on. That's why he got me out there.
First off? First off, no, first off, you coming to
the game, and what's your job? Play defense?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Right?
Speaker 4 (17:31):
For sure?
Speaker 2 (17:32):
You got him to you.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
That's wrong, right, Yeah, that's my role.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
So I was like, if I was guarding Kobe or
whoever the time when he come in the game, give
me a break. You got him, watch dog, you know
what I'm saying, My watchdog.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
You got him? Okay, so you said hardest cast of
guard me.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
He need one more.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Hold on. Let's straighten it up. Let's straighten that though
before you go. You were never hard to god when
I left you. Though. When I left you, killer you
you was lunch meet when you.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Played for Brooklyn Boston.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
When I left.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Killer, I wanted that smoke.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
All right, So check this out. This is my memory, right,
So t ain't go to Memphis, right, this is my memory.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
I'm like elephant memory. I don't forget.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Okay, me too.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
His first game, so they played during the week Memphis.
Here in the start line up. You know what happened
to get the Boston he out sick?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
I want to coincidence? Da look so ill rung about
the bitch? Oh you played last night? You six today?
Huh what? He hadn't even healthy all year? He come
back to Boston. He on the bitch. I'm like, oh,
you ain't playing today. I look right at him, Oh
(18:56):
why you ain't playing? It that he played just two
nights ago. He ain't getting or nothing? Why are you
watching me? Like they got flul like symptoms? So that
means I mean, I mean we got you got that pist.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
You gotta speak on that won't happened that day?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Man? Why all right? So listen, this is what happened. Man,
I ain't gonna lie. I come to the building, and
you know, I don't know if it was one of them.
You know how Utah did Mike that day. I don't
know if I came to the rich carge and they
put some in my eggs. I'm not sure. Just I
woke up stomach, ain't feeling well, and I just told coach,
I say, coach, you better off saving me for the
next game because I don't feel good and busting you'll
(19:32):
come back.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
I'm mismatch up. I'm as matching. I'm mismatch up. So
every time I score, I look over to the bench,
like to where you are, Like why you ain't playing today?
Speaker 3 (19:46):
They beat us that day. We came about twenty five.
I think we came back next year. Though we came
back next year, I'm a year older. I'm on my
way and we won back three. I'm at the end
of the I'm in the middle of the court, a
doing the ticket, anything possible, anything, watch them up? You
(20:06):
real I was that day crazy? Come on, man. Then
when he got to Brooklyn, it was no contest. He's
a spot up shooter. I was a spot up shooter
in Brooklyn. Bro Come on, I was thirty six. You're
still twenty six keeping those first team all defense. That's
when you became first team then. I didn't want those
Spurs team. I don't want to come on, I'm talking
(20:28):
about that jab one going.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
I'm like, stop playing.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Up the stacks, up the stats.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
All right, So me and Brooklyn verse Myphis my first year,
but I end up with diverse them. The game you
played against fourteen the solid fourteen listen, silent, listen.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
I don't listen. Fourteen fifteen and six.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Okay, that's solid. Okay, Oh we beat them our next game.
Oh yeah, that's right. They weren't playing me in the
fourth court.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Each other in Brooklyn.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
That Oh so I'm fourteen and eight and how many
minutes I played out?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Oh that's five play I played played like forty minutes?
Speaker 3 (21:11):
One? Yeah, that solid.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Okay, that's solid.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
No, no, no, let's break even. That means that means
put me in the game. Coach. Now, that both for
thirty six was nice? No, that was silent?
Speaker 2 (21:23):
All right, all right, all right, that's all right. What
about Washington.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
What I did to get you in Washington? I don't
think you got in the game.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
The game Washington didn't playoff when you guys like only
play each other maybe one time if you're each well.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yeah, alright, I didn't call game on him, okay, out
of foul, but so you didn't give us a fan again,
all right, I ain't get the fact, I said, said
Pete Cole.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
D Wade Durrant and then who m m. Maybe like
a point guard because you guarded. You guarted a lot
of different players. MM, point guard or anybody? Yo, who
is your top matchup?
Speaker 3 (22:04):
That's hard? He was like, I really had too many
hard matchups. Killer. You know what I'm saying. I'm saying
my most harmbling's voice.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
But uh, that's how you feel as a defender, man,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Come on, man, like it was wasn't really Oh no,
I got no my band, I'm so disrespectful. I apologize it.
Mellow yeah, mellow, mellow point guards. No, I had the
guard guys like that, man, mellow. He the type of
guy gets you in the post. He kind of remind
me of you a little bit because he always got
in the post. Bang tried to throw the shoulder boom
(22:40):
and once he got that field, he pade back one leg,
maybe spin, he gonna offensive rebound, you get what I'm saying,
and he gonna shoot that long three. So yeah, it
has been Mellow. I remember that time. I remember that time.
I won't even remember this. I had the guard Mellow
in Boston. He was trying to tell me and shoot around.
Listen to you, a he gonna do this. He gonna
(23:00):
do this, but normally and shoot around. You slapping me
in my head, trying to trip, trying to heat play,
getting me in trouble with doc. No, not shoot around practice,
but shoot around we locked in. Yeah, okay, practice, but
you still not keeping me focused. So you like, man,
we get to shooting around. You're like, all right, listen
to you, this is what he about to do. I'm like,
calm down, Peep, calm down, pe I'm listening, listen, and
I ain't listen, Like all right, were about to give
(23:23):
you forty to listen, so I ain't listen. Luckily, to
the grace of God. Man, you know, I played hard,
you know, played the whole game. I had thirty points
my career had guess what Mellow fins with faulty. I
didn't play that game, No, you played. We both had thirty. Okay,
we both had thirty. Let's fact check that, oh yeah,
(23:45):
fact check that. I don't know if hey man, hey man,
I told ain't no mystery in my history all day.
Let's step that. Who had thirty and ten? Yes?
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Cool?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Five steals too cool?
Speaker 4 (23:59):
What?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
People?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
That's cold.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
I'm not gonna hold you people on your stage?
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Yeah him, not them? Man?
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Are y'all listening to another edition of All Truth?
Speaker 3 (24:12):
No cap come, I'm on the truth?
Speaker 4 (24:14):
Lad?
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Why would I capt man?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
You had?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
You had thirk?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Okay, I'm surprised you don't remember that shoot around. You
were hot at me, Bro, you were hot. If you
don't remember what I say, I don't remember what other
people saying. Your ship ain't remember, man, we don't get you.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
W W man.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
You got game thirty eight? Okay, Okay, trying to tell you, Bro,
that's another day. I just had what twenty six and
five or some ship thirty eight that day?
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
I was twenty eight. Damn No dfense killed killing we won?
Speaker 4 (24:49):
We won five?
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Damn I was a killer game.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (24:53):
You did to show your son at two thousand show
your son that game. Yeah, man, that's my career had over.
I remember that day, Vivid, and then you figured out
who you was.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
You became and made a name for yourself for locking
motherfuckers up, And that's what's up. He was like, I
can't be a score because I can't consistently do this,
But I know one thing I can control every night.
It's locking a motherfucker up. Work, right, That's what's up.
That's what a lot of people see. That's what these
kids don't understand because a lot of us when you
in high school and in college or at whatever level
(25:24):
you make it to, and you the guy when you
get to the NBA, because everybody been the guy, right,
you know what I'm saying. But the NBA, you gotta
figure out who you are or how you can contribute.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
You know.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
So if you come to a team and you average
thirty in college or thirty in high school, but you
come to a team where you got Shock Diesel or
Iver Center or somebody, you not about to average thirty.
So how can you figure out what type of role
you could play or what you can do until you
get to that point to when you establish confidence. And
that's what these young guys got to know because what
you was before it may not.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Be what you will be. Adjustment and adjustment and that's
pretty much what you was telling me pretty much. And
that's what you got to figure out. And that's where
i Q come in as.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Will build your foundation on rock, not saying the rock
is the defense. If you build your game off defense,
you can always play offense. It's this, there's something now
that you got to be a two way player or
a defensive player. That means you're not a great offensive player.
If you can build your game on defense, you will
always have value because now you could play with Check Beverly. Yeah,
(26:30):
he built his foundation off that and even and now
he he's been around long enough to have so much
experience and knowledge that he can help you. He not
he knew how to not make himself a lot of
billy offense.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
I will give that dude credit because all you kids
out here like you can be Pap Beverly, like that's realistic.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
You can't be Lebron.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
You can't be.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Like that because your mother is still too nice.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Teams, but you can't be Lebron. You're not gonna be Lebron, period.
You're not gonna sixteen with handles a dog for real
that you know what, Listen to what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
You got a better who you got a better chance
at being a superstar in the league, or Pat Bell.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Like he is a dog. You can't be You can't
with your work ethic like your wheel light, your heart light.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
But this is your heart. But this is and so
so this is what I'm saying and saying that. Ain't
no kids in the gym saying that.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Whereas if you say that and model that, you can
have a ten plus year career instead of looking at Curry,
looking at Lebron, if I can play this role right here,
and if I get better from that, you know, if
I get better from that, yeah, you know damn. But
too many kids look to be the best ever, like
(28:03):
you could get to like I never want. I never
said I'm gonna be the best ever. I said I'm
gonna be like, no, I'm gonna listen though I didn't
go from that. Listen to what I'm saying, y'all ain't listening.
I said, all right, I'm gonna go from this level.
When I got said this level, I said, all right,
you know what I want to be Rookie of the Year.
(28:23):
All right, I want to be All Star, you know
what I do that?
Speaker 3 (28:28):
All right?
Speaker 1 (28:28):
I think I want to be a MVP now all right, shoot,
I got close. I finished in two thousand and two.
And if you be voting, damn, I'm trying to be
the best I can be. It's levels you get to
to where you you climb, you know you climb.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Well. I think that last thing is what everybody should
shoot for. Just be the best you could be, right,
and then you play the game out. But you gotta
really evaluate yourself. If you yourself, yeah, if you gotta
be real, are you really doing the things to be
the best you could be? If you if you if
you can be the best you could be, you can
always walk away from the table happy. You know what
(29:08):
I'm saying. If you know you gave it your all
and you put everything into this, you you feel bad
about it whatever happened. Because some guys like d Rose
look what came upon him. Look look at grand Hill,
look at them. They could walk away from the game happy, bro,
because they put it on, They did what they had
to do. They might not be known as the best ever,
(29:29):
but they were They trajectory, they grind and their mentality
put them there. Tell me that wasn't real when he
dropped that fifty man and in Minnesota. Who he's talking
about all that hard work and dedications? Yeah, knowing that
respect my name.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
So man, I've been wanting to ask you this. You know, obviously,
you know.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Me and j Crow grew up right here in Inglewood,
and you know, we had our people who we looked
up and our influences.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
But what were some of your influences, you know growing
up in Chicago?
Speaker 3 (30:05):
You know, because I played with Twin who was from Chicago,
and KG lived out there, and there's a lot of
Hoopers that come to Chicago. But what were some of
your influences you know coming up in Chicago. Well that's
a good question, man. I had a long list of guys. Obviously,
you know the history with you know, the Pistons and
the Bulls having at rivalry with Jordan and Zeke shot
(30:26):
out to Zeke Westside Chicago. Uh. But more so importantly, uh,
guys like you know, Quinn Richardson, you know, Bobby Simmons.
You know what I'm seeing those guys, you know, just
enter the league and just seeing how they was able to,
you know, be up there at Tim Grover Center, you know,
working out, you know what I'm saying, Yeah, and uh
(30:47):
and just having homeboys, you know who who be around
those guys and seeing twine Walker make it so flashy,
make it so believable, him being from the hood, you know,
at the low end, you know what I'm saying, And
those were my influences. Then seeing those guys come back
and get back and you know, touch the people in
the neighborhood, to the less fortunates, and you know, people
seeing like, dangn these are real people.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Man.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
You can't actually, you know, turn nothing into something. And
I ain't gonna lie, man. Just seeing twine on that
on the on the cover Lave ninety nine, and you
know what I'm saying, and just seeing them at the
park somewhere, you know who been talking shit to all
the fans who haggling them and jumping in at Bentley. Man,
you know that gave me a huge you know what
I'm saying. It just be like, damn, I could actually
(31:30):
do it, man. And uh, I tell you one good story, man.
One day when I was coming up in the ranks
and uh, I was playing in college.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
It was my junior year old, so telling everybody, hold
on listen, I know, so you play. Did you play
in high school? I played one year in high school.
You played one year high school, So you went to
high school, played one year? Then after that, take us
through that journey, take us to your journey to the pro. Well, well,
my journeys apart player, Well, obviously I didn't. I didn't
play none of my freshman year, sophomore year, junior year.
(32:00):
I played my senior year just senior high school.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Yeah, and see that's unconventional and getting up this big
shot after will byn them. Man, will Bynum was able to,
you know, catch me at the I T program playing
and uh, I actually told him, like, man, I dropped
out of school, bro, And uh he actually came to
me and was like, yo, I just moved to the
West side, and uh, I can get you in school.
(32:23):
He saw me play. He he at the next game
and uh he was actually playing against Twan in the
next game, and he told me he can get me
in school, and I was like, bro, you bullshit. He
was like no, cause I got the I got the
school on lock, and me going to that school just
so happened through the grace of God, my mother moved
from the South side to the west side and the
Henry Hornted projects and uh that was the school was
(32:44):
like four blocks down the street. And uh, I ended
up going to the school. Will Bynum ended up you know,
leaving class, coming into the little uh orientation meeting with
the principal in the back. What level school was this
senior So basically they looking at my credits, you know
around this time. You poed to have at least like
eighteen credits at the time, and I had point five credits. Damn. Yeah,
(33:08):
that's I'm just not showing up, just not showing up
to school and uh. And so basically they put me
through a program where, you know, I had to come
to school like on credit six in the morning. I
couldn't lead to about three thirty in the morning, you know,
things of that nature. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, I
mean not three thirty more, my bad, three thirty pm.
I had it. I had to do an extra hour
in school. I had to make up them credits. Let's
(33:29):
just say, I had to make up credit. Credit recovery, yeah,
credit recovery. Then I have to go the summer school.
So boom, by the time, I said, by the time
it was time to play for the get eligible. Uh,
I was able to play. And uh after the after
the year, you know, I went to the average like
sixteen points a game. And after the year, the coach
was like, I just don't got no school for you, man,
I appreciate what you've done for me. And when I
(33:51):
tell you, I wanted to slap the dog shit out
of him. I looked at him, I said, damn. But
guess what happened. Guess guess what. Guess what. That's what
my story is. The I t the I went right
back to the program and I was able to play again.
And my homeboy, James Peters, he was going to he
was supposed to go out of high school like Leon
Smith did. And he was like, yo, bro, I was
(34:12):
twenty one years old. I couldn't finish school like I
had to go get my ged at at Butler Community, Kansas.
And it was it was. It was Jim Cousin Eldado, Kansas.
He called his coach. I magine, I never been on
the plane. I'd never been on the plane. He say, Man, coach,
I got a guard for it. We need him, we
need him. I go down there and had to beat
the dude out from Jamaica. It was crazy. I went
(34:34):
out there, I pulled out my averson, I pulled out
my Paul Piers one step back. I ended up getting
a scholarship. I called my mama. Now, man, my mama
got ten applications a job.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
So you got a scholarship, you come home, you get
a job.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
She like boys that scholarship, you get a job. So
now when I get Now, when I get home and
my mama got them applications of the platfor job, I'm like, Mama, no,
I got it. I'm going to school.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
Locker. She got you.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Type of I tell mama, said, mom, I'm going to school.
So boom, once you see my letter of intent. They
emailed the letter intent and then she's like, okay, my
boy going to school. And then that's when I took
it real serious. That's when I started, you know, you know,
locking in working on my school. Butler Community. It's called
(35:23):
Butler Community, Kansas Elder Rado.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Okay, so you get the scholarship there, and how long
you stayed there?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
How many years? I only stayed there one year. I
got kicked out. What they got kicked out so and
it was funny because I won freshmen at the year
and when I want freshmen at a year, and they
ran up on me. They was coming to give me
my award, and they like, yeah, they knocking on my door.
They give me my award. And they knocking on my
door to give me my ward. You know me, I'm
in my room. I'm like the season over with is?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
You know?
Speaker 3 (35:53):
I blazed but in the in the in the sign
of the dorms, this says it's no smoking old booze
automatic eviction. And they caught me. I got the candles,
set up, the spray, I got everything set up. They
coming to give me my award.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
They like.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
On sprying. I was ready so but they gave me
my award and then I came. I came back the
next day when I went to class. On my way
to class, they told me to come to the training room.
I had to take a piss test. Took a piss test,
failed it, went to class the next day, came back
all my like. They took down my TV, they had
my PlayStation, they had outside. I had to find somewhere
(36:33):
to stay there. But look look at God, Look at God,
Look at God. The national junior college got a tournament
like the NCAA tournament going on right now.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
It was a team.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
It was a team that won the year before that,
a dude named Antonio Tarmas. Shout out Antonio Tarboro. They
needed a they needed a two guard to come fill
his place because they had won it. And then it
was another guard that they Antoine and Twine Barber. Now listen,
it was three cats could have came out out and
went pro this year at a junior college. Look, you
had quin Tailwoods. Oh this is Western. You had Kendrick Brown,
(37:07):
got drafted better, better Celtics. And then you hear Antoine
Barber and Twine Barbara went back to school. Listen. He
won IMVP as a freshman in that in junior college
after twenty five points a game. He came back to school.
So all the schools in the nation was coming to
see him. So when they came to see him, it
was like, damn, this dude supposed to be pro. Now
(37:28):
you know me, I go right on my draft. They
got his name up there. Man, I don't want to
play on your team none. In the summer time, I
need to see where I'm at. So I'm going at him,
going at him, going at him. End up finishing our
first team All Conference. We ended up losing in the
final four. And uh then I was able to go
to Oklahoma State because Oklahoma State was the only school
(37:48):
that came and stayed there consistently. When dude chose Kentucky,
the dude Antoine Barbara, Who's supposed to.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
Go to the league instead, everybody else fell off.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Everybody I'm talking about all the schools I'm talking about school.
You could think I was coming to our gym. They
stopped coming once they saw him, saying with Kentucky, so boom.
When Oklahoma State stayed there, I'm looking at dude, I'm like,
who the fuck is he here for? He winking his
eye at me. I'm like, pauls.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Sip coach Sip and so when he came and.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
The season was over, I finished up, you know, I
finished up all American things of that nature, top top
guard in the country. And I looked at the schools
that just came out of nowhere, like Cragon, Cincinnati, Arizona State.
I said, yo, them school I never saw them schools
at the game. I say, you know what, let's go
to Oklahoma State. That's my first visit. So I get there,
I asked coach sutt and I asked him, fly up
(38:42):
the rill. I say, bro, if I come to this
school now, manager, I'm man for a Dasmond Mason. You
get what I'm saying, Moe Baker, they were staying before you.
They graduated in Oh Okay, okay, and they went pro. Yeah.
So I'm like, okay, them cats went there, they let
they game loose. So I'm like, I could get there
show them what I got. I'm there and I asked
coach son Peace. Coach Son, I told him, I say, yo,
(39:03):
if I come to your school, am I gonna be
able to make it? Bro? He told me, you know what,
if you listen to me on the defensive end, he say,
and do everything that I've known you for being recruited for.
He said, I don't see why you can't. I said why.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
I signed it, simple as that. I signed it, simple
as that.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Man. I got back to the school. My coach was
so mad.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
He just set up, don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
So I ended up going there, man, and my first
year there, I was newcome of the year, got Newcome
of the Year. I had to beat out a spot.
You know what I'm saying. I wasn't even guaranteed the
starting spot. I just went there and outworked him on
for a period. It was folk scenings. Then I outworked
them and uh new coming and worked them. Yeah, that's
that's really outwork.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Look, this is what I want to ask you that now,
that way you finish your career so much, but yo, Chicago,
Hold up? Yeah, how much of your Chicago or your
background round of everything you've been through which you contribute
to your mentality as a competitor. Right you being a
first team defensive player, you're a fighter. Every night you
(40:12):
come to fight. It's different when you come to score.
You come to give blows. It's different when you come
to take it on the chest. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
That was his reputation because I remember out of Oklahoma
State he was defensive Oklahoma State Player of the Year.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
But you was on the defense. I ain't getting no defense.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Really.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
I watched you. I was a bugget for I tore
my knee up. So before we even get to watch,
before we even get to that, I got player of
Year my senior. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
You went in as a junior.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
When as a junior, remember the first time I seen
the first time I seen you, I seen you at
the gym in Chicago. I was hoping it was hoops.
You was going into your oh senior year. Yep, cause
I remember seeing you you come. You was hoping you
got in. You got in that run and then you
(41:07):
went And I said, that's the same though he.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Was out there and it's funny you even said it
because I wanted to bring that out. I wanted to
get Quinn Richardson some love because that specific day, you know,
you know, you know, Tim Groven don't let the college
players play till late, and so he threw me in there.
And then Quinn had been seeing me play. And when
he saw me play, I had. Jordan was there that
(41:29):
day actually, and when he seen me play, the first
thing he said was when he was done, he was like, bro,
you a pro. So shout out Quinn Richardson. That's the
first NBA player told me I was a pro man,
and that when that meant the world of me. So
and then moving forward, like to answer your question, as
far as the roots and things of that nature, shot Town,
we got Like I said, I'm not gonna stop talking
(41:50):
about our program. We don't we it is shut down.
It ain't the biggest how it used to be. But
we used to have this thing where you know, when
a guy get going, they they get to what clean
it out on you? You feel move anybody to the sad.
And so if you from Chicago, man, you know for
for a fact you gotta get that stop and y'all
(42:11):
need to go somewhere else and clear it out because
it ain't about to be on me. And so I
always had that in my mentality, like, man, they not
about to run four fat buckets on me, Like I'm
the lick. I'm not the lick. Turn turn that somewhere else.
You feel what I'm saying. And I think I carried
that on through the league and more so through college
and the league. And that's that's how it was. So
when I got to the ones with you, P and
(42:32):
you was talking about let's go once, I was up
for the challenge. You know what I'm saying. That was
already instilled in me just from being from the shot.
You feel what I'm saying, And that's how that that's
how that go though, But no man shot town raised Man,
mythis paid man.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
That's what's up man. You know what, man, that's a
great story man.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
So you know, to all your young kids who thrive
to be, you know, an NBA player or something, sometimes
at the round you you put your sight on may
not be the round you you know. Uh, Tony played
one year of high school, j C College then got
to the pro. So you know, sometimes you just gotta
(43:09):
keep working. Don't give up on your dreams. But you
gotta work, you know, That's all it is what you're looking.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
At looking up Jayalen Bronson Jerseys, trying to get me
you gotta have the original blue next jersey.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
What is y'all talking about right now?
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Bro? He got the knicks coming out that first round,
that's what he's saying. He looking up the jersey, got
a weg Well what we're doing right now, Jersey, I'm
gonna wear it, Okay.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
I just want to make sure you get the one
because because when you get rid of it and you
trash it, I'm you know, I'm gonna have it. So
I want to make sure it's that authentic, that blue,
that spike Lee.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Blue, spike Lee blue striping on the side.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
You gotta get that joint you gotta get it. What's
you a double?
Speaker 2 (43:54):
Where the Knicks at right now?
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Let's get you an ax me somewhere in the middle.
I can wear an oversize when when you threw with it.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
I'm saying, what what's the next?
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Where they're at right now?
Speaker 4 (44:03):
They rolling?
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Hey, I just gave it up the Brunson on the
Ticket and true show. I just gave it up to him.
And you know it's love. I know he's killing, he's
holding down. I think he should be on one of
the All NBA teams, if not first team, second team.
I did give him his props.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
What about the what about the next They're in the
third slot right now? Right? Yeah, they was injured and
they were sliding, and you were saying they weren't gonna
do nothing. You was bold.
Speaker 3 (44:31):
It was just like they get out the first round,
but they how about now? Okay, well, where are they
at right now? The third? Okay, so let me break
it down to you. Okay, the third right, and you
know he's been out right, Uh who else been out?
Speaker 2 (44:53):
Rands? Anybody else? All right? So if they player start today,
who's their matchup?
Speaker 3 (45:03):
India?
Speaker 4 (45:03):
Right now?
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Indiana, that's a bad matchup for them. Let's just say,
and you know he comes back three games left.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Now they got to restart their chemistry back over together
with him because they rolling without him.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
A defensive guy, he ain't. They ain't running no play
not running no play for and we're looking for he
tried to probably check him for Sia. He played with him.
He was ready to lock him up. He know his tendencies.
I think they got the edge on that point.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
Indiana Nicks versus Indiana. Who you I'm saying, you put
the fact that rock with Indiana, So that ain't no
like easy.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Win for them. Bro. We was just watching them in
the in Cason tournament and you was talking about howler
Burn wasn't who don't say nothing about I always got
him love.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
Hey, that was one of the funniest oh, bro, Bro,
he was he was in the middle.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
Was in the middle or you were talking about home alone. Yeah,
and you were saying haller Burth just that the stage
ain't really fit for him this year. Give him a
couple more polishing, a little more polishing. And I said that, yeah,
now you now you rolling with Indiana over the Knicks.
I got to your boy Tims. You know how he
(46:24):
get his soldiers up. Big shot out to coach Thibodeau. Man,
he got them boys. When y'all thought they was down,
they showed up. Nix.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
Y'all get out the first round. I'm gonna wear to
Bernst of Jersey. I don't even pull up to a game.
Y'all can whatever whatever. But what if they don't, then
what if they don't? Are y'all willing to do something?
Killer brought it up?
Speaker 4 (46:48):
I mean, y'all, you was a bold and beautiful that
was your best, that was your birth the world.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Hey man, I'm Boston.
Speaker 4 (46:55):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
We don't like nothing New York.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
So that's what I'm saying. So you want me to
go with the Knicks and have something. If they don't,
we ain't.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
We ain't feeling We ain't feeling the Knicks. We ain't
feeling Miami either.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
So it is what it is. It is what it is.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
I'm gonna ride this to my grade.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
We sold on.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
All y'all want to be all mad at me and
Knicks fans and I'm a hater and all this whatever.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
Anyways, what else? Man, let's get off the next topic.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
They ain't looking like that Instagram more you talking about.
I guarantee you that they are not looking like that
Instagram taking still filters on until I see otherwise as
I go feeling about them.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
They got hard dudes.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
Man, they need a new injection ling.
Speaker 4 (47:50):
That's that ja right, Hey Jay Wright, they're doing it
for you, baby hands.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
Is this that?
Speaker 4 (47:56):
This that Jay Wright back quarters out there doing their thing? Man?
Jay Wright is an incredible coach.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
J right.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
What Jay Wright got to do with this because.
Speaker 4 (48:04):
He got Villanova is the team heart Deeven, Chinzo and Brunh.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
He's producing good times.
Speaker 4 (48:10):
Producing real hardcore basketball players that play hard. They show
up every.
Speaker 3 (48:15):
Night the heart looking like the hard soul standing up.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
You stood up like you was ready to scrap for them.
Speaker 4 (48:20):
No, I love hard dudes. I'm wanting to scraping that.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Man.
Speaker 4 (48:35):
Man out there, you know we got it now, we
gotta you gotta from now. When we say hard dude,
that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
I'm from the streets.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
You're right, I'm from the streets legal, that's the strip No, No,
I'm stream. Yeah, what we're talking about we say hard dude,
you gotta breaks the jokes.
Speaker 3 (49:15):
That what he's saying though, because at the same time,
change the man. This man, Yeah, that's that puppy.
Speaker 4 (49:25):
Ain't part of Puffy Hollywood. I'm gonna left with you.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
You know what's happening with Come on, man, it's cool.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
I'll take it.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
That was all time was Damn. I'm checking off the
lakes right now.
Speaker 4 (49:43):
What y'all?
Speaker 1 (49:43):
What y'all think of the Lakes? They rolling right now?
They were five six in a row, five five in
a row. And I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
The version of Bron that I see versus Memphis, that's
the version.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
That they need to go deep in up playoffs.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
He got a triple double, he was finding cats he
didn't have, he shot high percentage from the field, rebounded.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
That's the one.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
That's the Bron they need, and that's the one I
was talking about. So when people talk about, oh this
and that you hate, Nah, they ain't hating. I just
think they need a different version of Bron to unlock
the potential of this team, because I think he got
some hitters out there. And so if they played that
version of Bron and add Kate Ad to the mix,
(50:35):
what y'all think? I think they can get out of
the play in and make some noise in the playoffs.
I mean it's they peaking. I feel like at the
right time, I think they didn't want eight out of
ten or shoot around there. They they didn't want about
eight out of ten.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Now, So what y'all think about the Legs. I know
they better be dugging that. I think they need to
be dug in the Denver Nuggets. Yeah, I truly believe that.
I mean, any other team and see them beating some inexperienced.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
Teams, you know, so they duck the different Nuggets say,
they say, okay, see or Minnesota. You confident in the
Sakers verse them in the first round.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
No, I think they got a chance. I don't. I'm
still rolling with my young fellas because them young fellas't ain't.
They ain't scared of nobody. They feel like they arrived.
They got an MVP and candidates in both guys versus Denver.
They haven't got a chance birds Denver, Okay, I mean, they.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
Just thinking about the Lakers against the thinking about the Lakers, though.
What you gotta understand is that we gotta judge them
in the playoffs, because they got judge. We gotta judge
them in the playoffs. We gotta let them get there.
And see what adjustments they make, what lineups play well,
on how they guys play. They got potential to do
whatever they want to do, but will they do it
(51:48):
or not? We gotta sit back and watch.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
All right, So Lakers if they get say, okay.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
So they're not a regular season team to me is
my point.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
So they make the plan, they play Golden State or
Phoenix or you know, whoever's got you, or they.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Get out of that. What they gotta win two games to.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Make the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
If they stop, then yeah, they're the ninth.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
So you gotta win.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
You gotta beat the A seed and then what you
gotta beat the seventh seed?
Speaker 3 (52:16):
You gotta be If you the seed, then you gotta
beat the winner of the A seed, the loser, the
loser or the eighth, and.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
Then you'll be eight. And then you'll be eight. So
they'll open up with Denver. Well, well, well let's get
to it.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
Let's get to what's show get to this level versus.
Speaker 4 (52:38):
They pop Denver in the first round. It's looking it's
looking ugly for everybody else, and here they go. That's
what it is. Let's get to Denver early before they
get warmed up while they why they motor. You catch
Denver at the conference finals, it ain't gonna be a
good thing if I gotta play Denver. Let's play them
right now, because you gotta go through them anyway. Let's
get them right now before they get to be an
(52:58):
oil machine.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
Ain't no way, man, Come on, man, who is your daddy?
That's how Denver looking at them? Boys.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
Yeah, so let me get to it early. That's my point.
Do you want to play them in a.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Burnt hundred percent Vincent ain't.
Speaker 4 (53:17):
Then, y'all?
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Then y'all believe in Russell. If you got a point, God,
that's gonna go at him, y'all in trouble bro.
Speaker 4 (53:24):
I'm just trying to he he don't got a guard
murried though. That's not his matchup. His mat he gonna
that's not his matchup. His matchup is called well pop,
I standing here in help side and just be ready
on closeouts.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
Okay, which means when we go on this pick and
roll and they switch and you gotta help, you're still
gonna have to tag. You still gonna have to dig.
He giving up an open three. Don't like said. I
don't like his defense. I think he grat off.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
I can respect that, but defensively, I think if he.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
If he run across some guards, that's gonna go at
his head. They losing that match up. We gotta sit
down and saw it. They were trying to say his
confidence that one year he was Lakers.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
If they don't see if they can somehow get to
the seventh, they can't get to you know, they can't.
They can't. I see a path to the seventh I do.
I mean I've been looking at it, look at it
every day. They can get to the seventh because Golden
State has a tough schedule. Bro they beat Denver State
gonna drop, I mean, not go to State. Phoenix is
(54:25):
gonna drop. They got the toughest schedule. Man, I think
they gonna I do believe in them, but I just think.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
They they got nine games left with a two game league.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
I think the Lakers got a path to the seventh seeds.
So if they get to the seventh seed, then I'm
more confident in them making a deeper playoff run with
the way they plan now. But that's a d healthy
bron healthy, everybody healthy. Because it looks like gave Vincent's
coming back. It looks like, uh, what's the other kid,
the defensive kid Vanderbilt looked like he coming back. So
(55:01):
you gonna need them guys too, No, you need them
role players though, you need your role players down here.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
Just have them available for a deep playoff run. You
need them. So, I mean, am I confidence in the
Lakers making a deep playoff run?
Speaker 3 (55:16):
No?
Speaker 2 (55:17):
Can they do it?
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Is there a path for them? I see the path,
so we'll see. I mean a lot of this is
gonna be a testament of Lebron's greatness. And I did
say if Lebron somehow gets this team to the finals
and win it, he's an undisputed go. I mean, I
feel like, if you just get them to the finals,
if you get this team to the finals, that y'all
(55:38):
been a nine ten seed, which has never been done, you.
Speaker 3 (55:43):
Gotta make a even if there's gonna be a case
for it. That's all I'm saying. So how many years
they gonna keep falling into that ninth and playing and all?
I mean.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
Conference like at this stage just about winning. They made
conference finals and with a chance to go to finals,
it didn't matter what their record is. So like, this
regular season ship don't mean nothing. It's what you're doing
the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
And you got and it's always they what you used
to say, getting getting hot at the right time. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying. And this is the right
time for.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
You right now, because the West is gonna be a
blood bath and it's gonna be some teams going home
early that.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
Probably shouldn't be going home early, or a.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Higher seed that you're gonna say, like, damn, they did
all that all year long to get popped in the
first round or the second round. Were heavy on the
West right now what we're doing in the East though.
I mean I see the path of Boston. I see
it like a clear path. I don't see no fifteen losses.
I mean, I don't see.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
Thorn, thorn bushes. I don't see no like I just
see a clear path seem being come back and just
I mean, dude, your knee and you you you gotta
get back in shape.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Like you it's hard to get back to that level
I've had.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
It takes it takes you a good six seven weeks
to get back I'm talking about and playing that's hard.
Speaker 4 (57:11):
Got to keep his weight down.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
That's gonna be hard on him. If I'm him, I
wouldn't even try to come back like at this stage.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
So the process.
Speaker 1 (57:20):
Milwaukee is a is a huge threat, and obviously you
gotta respect Miami. But I really just see a clear
path for the Celtics. I mean, you know, the Knicks
will see them in the second round. Healthy next team
people are saying that they're healthy. They can challenge itself
that you get Randall and uh and then Brunton. But
(57:43):
I just don't see it.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
