Speaker 1 (00:02):
Yo, y'all, y'all go off into the Truth Lound. It's
going down to day all right, everybody, welcome to the
Truth Lounge. Back at it again, your boy Pete Pearson,
(00:25):
of course, Jay Crow, what's up, man, what's been going
on with the.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Wood the Inglewood High basketball team? Give me an update? Yeah,
we've been rolling roll so good. Uh, we're gonna hit harder.
Part of the schedule coming up, y'all.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
What's the record right now?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Five and oh five and oh five and.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Oh y'all went down to Fresno, took care of business.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
That was a great game. That was probably the greatest game,
just taking the team down there, building chemistry. We started off,
we was down eighteen and a halftime came played some
outstanding defense, Big Parker. That is thing. We got out
of there with a good win. Got the boys some wing.
Stop Stop.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
What's going on with J two right now?
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:11):
What's what's going on in the district? He can't he not?
He played a couple of games and I see he
been out. What's the laiter us on his status?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well, this is an unprecedented situation the CIF. So I
don't want to say nothing bad about what they're doing.
But there I don't agree with what the how they're
ruling in this case because it's not something that's there.
But they initially said, well, he can play and if
he doesn't get a certain permit from LA within sixty days,
(01:39):
then they were four or fifth those they changed up
on that position. But he's just working out hard, man,
and the team is getting the opportunity to build depth.
We're still down the additional two players we won't have
until December. The energy is great around the team, so
I love it. It's real. It's been going real good
right now. And the girls went viral. We saw that,
(02:01):
so that was just that's just a blessing, you know,
just kind of the energy that we're bringing back since Yeah,
the energy around the wood, I'm seeing that. Everybody's talking
about it, from the football home coming to us when
we had Utah Prep and AJ and you and Trevor
and the mayor in the building to what's going on
and the girls. It's a good feeling right now.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
So all right, that's what's sup. Well, we got to
shift into some NBA man's the start of season. I
always like to say around twenty twenty five games, you know,
who a team is at that point, so we're starting
to kind of get a feeling of who's gonna be
what you know.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
It's just, you know, I think this year is gonna
be different from that though, just a little bit, because
I think.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
You already know, like at this point who twenty twenty
five teams? After twenty to twenty five games, you're pretty
much gonna be that team that you're gonna know who
the contenders are and who's gonna be what I say
around thirty almost coast. We have the twenty game mark
right now, so you know, everything is still trying to
(03:06):
play out, but we already know the Celtics is for
real to defend the champs. Of course, I see Cleveland,
what they've been doing. Cleveland been looking good. They I
knew there was gonna be a team that was gonna
be a threat, but I don't know that was gonna
be this what.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
They seem to have great chemistry right now. They seem
to be a team that likes to play together. They
probably bonding living in Cleveland. You know, it ain't much
to do, so they're probably all hanging out together. They've
been working on with each other. Team didn't make a
lot of changes, and that's why everybody thought, well, this
team is they didn't make no changes in the offseason.
They're not gonna make it. But their biggest change might
(03:44):
have been from within of how they're gonna approach the
games and how they get along because there's some special
going on in that long they got culture Kenny Atkinson Atkinson, Yeah, yeah,
he's doing a good job down there.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I like what he's doing with that team. Yeah, like, uh,
but who else in the East? You already got to
sell this Cleveland. Who else you see in the East
that It's just kind of like.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to figure it out,
trying the Knicks. I'm not sure. I always like him.
I like what Karl Towns brings to the table, you know.
I know they haven't really took off like everybody expects,
but I like their team with Brunston. In the playoffs,
they're going to be a tough out because they have
a guy that can get points, and they have defense
(04:28):
out there with oj Anobi and right with those type
of guys and Bridges and heart, you got the kind
of guys that you get into a playoff game. They're
going to get them tough rebounds, They're going to get.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You to Still they don't got the depth. Yeah, you
know what I do? Who I do like in the East?
I like Orlando. They ain't have Pollo since like the
first couple of weeks of the season, and they I
think they are like eleven and five without him. Uh,
he'll be coming back into the line of pretty soon.
So I think they're gonna be a scary team. I
(05:02):
like them. Last year you got Orlando. Of course, Celtics
bring Porzingis back. That looked crazy, Yes, Celtics. It just
I mean they got too many. What the Celtics team
is just Peyton Pritchett is playing like the best six
man in the league.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, a lot of these guys are maturing that we're
seeing right now. But Peyton Pritchett has to be the
front runner.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Hayt them playing out an NBP level.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yes, yes he is.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
I don't see nobody beating him in a seven healthy
Celtic team in a seven game series. And I'm just
trying to think Nick's Cleveland, you know, I don't know.
I just don't know. And obviously, the story the story
of the of the Eastern conference for me as the
Philadelphia seventy six ers, what what do you think happens
(05:47):
to them? You got Paul, George, Maxi, and NB. They
alreally ain't played together a lot. You know, one's been
out of the lineup, the other one's been in and
then it's just like I think they only play like
two or three games together. But then they're in a
hole right now and I'm not sure if they can
get out this whole. What you're thinking now, I mean
they can still make the play in though.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
They can still they can they can work their way through.
Everything is predicated on in Beat's health. Yeah, but see
his health. The difference between before is that he hasn't
gotten to a rhythm. This year, a lot of times
he's in a rhythm and so then it's don't take
much to get back. He still haven't discovered the rhythm,
so he's gonna have to do that to before they
(06:32):
get to hand.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Get in shape.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So usually he's in shape, rhythm,
rhythm and all that.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
So I don't see and if you're not playing back
to back games, then that's gonna be tough. Let's talk
about what about Milwaukee. Now they earlier they was looking like, yeah,
it was gonna be a long year. It looked like
they've turned it around. They they've won. Uh, let's see.
They want the last eight out of nine games, I believe.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
And so the Greek, the Greek Freak is showing you
why he's.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Playing back at the nbpre you know what I mean.
He's he's playing at an MVP level.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
He's also aggressive right now. He's trying to get every rebound,
He's pushing the ball, he's trying to impact the game
every session. He's in great shape, and he and they're
behind the a ball.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
So that's what you see him. They can still be
you think they're still a contender.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
They can push somebody, but I just don't think they
have the depth likes to contend for it all. I
think we got to see what militant story is. Is
he healthy? Can he come back? Because he's still a
great potentially great player, So we got to see that,
you know, but I don't like their depth me personally,
I don't like their depth.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
So contenders in the East, Celtics Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Nick I think, but I think we still gotta just
let's see what Orlando can do because I think I
think Paolo was before he got injured, he was developing
to a guy that can really take the reins and like,
look I can and on a matchup, nobody can stop me.
I could be the best player every time I step
out talking about yeah in his mind, right, I think
(08:08):
he can take that confidence. What the type of team
he has. He has a team full of guys that
are maturing in the in the league right now, saying
the White Yeah, they've been around though, so now you're
seeing them maturing and they're getting experienced without him, So
I would like to see that. That's what I said.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
This year.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
It's different because I think we have so many people
out like a polo like, it's so many things that
need to be figured out.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
All right, what about the Western Conference pretenders and contenders?
Who are your contenders? Obviously? I think okay, see, okay,
see is legit.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
The first and they've been there since when or was
they last year?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
First? I say, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
So they keeping going?
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Who could push them? Because Minnesota not looking the same obviously,
I think Denver can push them once they get healthy.
They need Aaron Gordon back. Uh, Memphis would be good
this year. They've been looking good with.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Just matchups too, Like like you're talking about because when
they play against Denver, who's the matchup for Yoki? So
it's gonna be which one of those two great players
closes the show? Right, right? Because like that's why the
West is so intriguing. They get into a matchup, steph
Curry goes Bonker, starts hitting half court shots, start going
to sleep. They can be I'm just saying the West, Yeah,
(09:34):
the West is like that where in a series, in
a series, Oklahoma City is really really good and you
know where it's coming from, coming from Shay, but they
still have matchup problems against some of these other teams
as good as shit is. What if a D go
off in the Lebron series and you catch that second
round matchup and you gotta deal with Lebron and a
D Lebron because they.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Got more debt with Hardenstein? Is that his name?
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Hert Sun? You like him?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I love him because once you get chat back later
in the year, tremendous depth at the big spot. He
been holding down since chat being up.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
What about the Suns? Right, what are we gonna say
about the sons. We know where they're at right now.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
They contender, They they they've been where are they now?
They seven slopp but they have They've lost games due
to injuries, they been off the lineup. Bill's been off
the lineup.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
We're gonna put them in contenders when.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
They all together. They look good when they all together,
they they they up there. You know what I'm saying.
The Rants played twelve games, Bradley Bill's played one, the
only one that played all the games.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
But when we're gonna say, if this is the same
story with them, they're getting older. This is not a
young group that just come on fly, bouncing back spring
in the action. This group is getting older. It's kind
of like reminds me of like the Clippers when they
had the contender or tender. I'm not giving them contender
status right now.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Tender then, yeah? So who are y can tenders or
the Golden State Warriors contenders?
Speaker 2 (11:03):
The Golden State Warriors are not contenders. Are the Lakers contenders?
The Lakers they can't be considered contenders.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
No, it's Minnesota contender right now.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
None of these guys are contenders, all right? Okay, see it?
Because the Rockets aren't second, the Rockets are taking ad
They're taking advantage of being the youthfulness, being healthy. They're
gonna play hard every night. They got a great coach
is gonna gonna push them. They got depth in terms
of young players who come in in and hungry to
play defense and the Yeah. So so they get a
(11:37):
lead on you. If they get a lead, they can
hold out. You gotta you gotta get it. You gotta
blow the Rockets out in the first quarter and then
try to hold them off.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I don't know what they will be at the end
of the year, what their playoff experience is gonna look like.
But that's what I'm saying. In the West, this this
is who I want to see. I'm question about the
Grizzlies this year or do they have Is John gonna
reach that leve he was on He plays at that
level Kia, you know, and he's miss some games. Are
they a team that can come out of the West
(12:10):
this year in your opinion?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Oh? Man, that's all. I think. The West is so balanced.
It's hard to say because when you look at the East,
you say are the Celtics that you say cash And
then when you look at the West, you got about
like seven teams that can come out of the Western Conference.
You do, you got about seventeams. I don't like Golden State,
I can come out. You get Curry in the series. Okay,
(12:36):
see they look like they're mature. You got I mean
Lakers is the biggest wild card because you still got
Lebron ad playing at a high level. And then we
saw what Man Dinner. You know what the joker is,
he's the best player in the league.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
You saying if Phoenix is healthy.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
And Phoenix is healthy, that's that's another six. And then
you gotta deal with teams like Memphis and in the Rockets.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
So yeah, this is good.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
This year is a lot of parody in the West.
It is in the West. Yeah, and then and then
the shoot the Clippers can spoil somebody, surprise the way
the beer been going and the Clippers looking like because
they well coached and they hold a float. Just think
of Kawhi comeback like how they've been playing. So the
West is uh, It's definitely I'm gonna keep my ole.
(13:22):
But I've been disappointed in Minnesota for the most part
this early through twenty games, they under five hundred and
calling them soft out there got everybody got their own agenda.
You think they can turn it around. That trade ain't
looking so good right now.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Huh was not the trade?
Speaker 1 (13:39):
If he think it's the trade.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
But if he called him soft, this is my thing.
If he called them soft, right, why is he not
doing something about it? Is that his way of doing
something about it going to the media call him. They
can't talk to everybody and get them going.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I mean, they were a top they were a top
defensive team last year, the top defensive team this last year,
and they're not even in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
So is he talking to himself or is he talking
That's what I'm saying. Like they're lacking leadership at this.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Point, you know, for them because he hasn't taken the
step I think, and he needs to be better for
them because he got he could be a really good
role player. And that's uh, Jada McDaniels. He needs to
take the jump like he has. I don't. I'm not
sure he's taking the next jump yet to being like
that god you could count on night in and night out.
(14:27):
I need fifteen sixteen eighteen from you. That gotta be
consistent from you and elite defense. You know what I'm saying,
you know, he only giving them he got he got
a bump thattter he gotta give me.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Like with Conley, you know, you really lack some a
floor general. If you're not gonna have a traditional point guard,
you still gotta have a floor general, somebody who gets
you through the game. And I think that's what they're
lacking right now. Somebody who can organize, who understands flow.
I'm not saying Knye doesn't understand that, but it seems
(14:58):
like now or he's older now too, he's older.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Now you need for him to keep up with these
young quick guards, right, So you need some playing up
attack on defense at the top is the defensively that
guy it's tough to keep people out the line. So
that's probably one of the reasons they not it's good
at the defensive team. And you don't have your big
twin towers, you got shorter, uh when you don't got
cat out there, right, And so Randal's has some impressive games.
(15:26):
But when you build a chemistry and you go far
in the playoffs, like I don't understand why gms overthink it,
like you bring them back. You see what you can
add to what you got like you took a big
piece that they were starting to build.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Something over there.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Analytics did the analytics, but then.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
You took somebody who really, I mean, they thought random
would be a better shooter. Space Cary town Space the floor. Huh,
he's probably a better three. Who's a better three point
R Towns Towns. It's not even because what I'm saying,
so it's not even somebody who's shorter and doesn't shoot
the ball as well. Yeah. So, now look, we got
(16:04):
something we're gonna do is tell me the truth. Just
a couple of questions I'm gonna ask that we ain't
really talked about. All Right, you could tell the truth
on it here. Why did the Big Three in Boston
ultimately break up?
Speaker 1 (16:18):
The Big Three in Boston ultimately broke up because Ray
Allen left. That was that was it. I mean, he
went off to Miami. I mean it was some contract
things I was going in behind the scenes and disputes
(16:39):
with Doc. You know, the communication just wasn't there. And
now it was the beginning of the breakup.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
He went there and they took they took a leg
and that was People don't talk about that enough. How
that helped boaster Miami, them taking the piece off of
your table.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
No, but we when we didn't sign Posey the next
year after we won, and then a few years after that,
when Tony Allen was starting to come into his own,
we didn't re sign him. It was just like it
was slowly breaking up. And now you look at this
championship team, the Boston team, they signed everybody after they won.
(17:19):
Right if we got to kept that blueprint. I mean
it wasn't even like they was asked for big money too,
because Ray went down to Miami and got like five
million I think or mid level and then Ta only
signed for three million per year, Like yeah, got it. Yeah,
we could have kept our pieces and that was ultimately
(17:41):
I think we just tried to you know, you know
Penny pinch, and I think it really cost us.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Okay, what's becoming a lost art in the league. Who
is your five all time ISO scores?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Ooh, five all time ISO?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yours? Give him the ball? Get out the way.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
That I had to grow out just period, like to
switch on. I'm gonna say, just give us the ones
you Alan Iverson, Yeah, like you out there and iland
Alison Alan Iverson Island. You don't want to be there.
Uh what was it with him?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Was it just the quickness, like the way he.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Was the quickness and you you already in front of him,
thinking like, damn, he gonna cross me and I don't
know which way, or he's just gonna go buy you.
It's just he gouts to the point I'm gonna just
go for the reach. I don't get any gone. I
can't slide with him. But yeah, and it was just like, damn,
you just don't want to fall. He's gonna do something.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
But you lean one way, like, oh, so you weren't
too hard, he gonna get.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
You, man, Okay, So Io scores, So you got a
I you got uh Vince Carter for Show on the Island, Toronto,
n Card on the Island mid post raise up man.
Uh you gotta say, uh Iso just Iso scores mellow
(19:12):
for show Tracy McGrady. Uh. And I'm just using Eastern
Conference guys because I played against him the most. So No, Kobe,
I mean I never I never felt victim to like
them sixty seventy point barrage as he had in the
Western Conference. But I mean, obviously Kobe is one of
the great scores along with Lebron. But we're saying, like
(19:34):
the guys who have to match up with the most isolation,
see Bron, he gonna take you through a lot of
picking rolls. So you're gonna be you know, we talking
about just pure iso. So I'm gonna say Mellow, Ai, Tracy,
Vince and uh in the Eastern Conference. Uh, just like damn,
(19:56):
I got to switch over here. Hey, ho hold on,
hold on, let's see you got Ai Van, Tracy, Mellow
and Joe Johnson.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yep. I sold Joe Yeah, I so Joe, Yeah, he
gonna dribble until he get to his spot.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
That like people try to give your hard time about
where is the Joe Johnson one kind of rank in
terms of like that that crossover.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
I remember the ball was low and I just dove
to try to get it. Like it didn't. It wasn't
the move that made me fall. I dove at the
ball like how you used to do on defense, like
get this right there, you just dive at it. I
pretty much kind of dove at it like just trying
to gamble. It wasn't like the move put me like
I was like, oh no, it wasn't a move that
(20:44):
did it. I went for the steal and he took
care of it. But Joe Is he wanted him once, no,
no doubt, no doubt. So them's my five, no particular order.
I were talking on ice, so scoring, no need, I
don't need to pick. Get off the way. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Okay, let's get you this. If you could play one
game over, which one game would it be?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
If I can play one game over, If I can
play one game.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Over, I think I know the answer.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
No, you won't know this one. Uh, this would be
game game I believe. I want to say Game four
of the Eastern Conference Finals versus New Jersey. Wha we
(21:38):
would have I think if we win that game, we
could have went to the finals that year. Game four,
so that would have put you all up three one
or two two, three to one. I believe right we
were up two to one. That would have put us
up three to one. I think I missed the one
free throw. I think I missed a free throw that
(21:59):
could have tied it, and we wind up losing. I
wish I had that back.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Right. And then that led to a whole cause y'all
was right there, right there, and then went down and
the program was downhill from the finals to.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Like, yeah, Game four, I believe I missed the free throw.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yes, but I was thinking Game seven, Lakers, But that
wasn't really in your hands.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
You played forty eight minutes the games.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
But I missed the free throw. Yeah, I remember that
we would have tied it at least with like under
ten seconds ago. It was like five seconds to go.
Uh right, that would hurt.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yeah, So it was tied with seventeen seconds. Harris got
them up two.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
With three throws, and then I missed the.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Line of one second left. You missed the first one,
and then I assume you had intentionally missed the second
one to try to get the rebound right.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, yeah, I think something is sound about right. Yeah,
I missed that free throw.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
He ain't gonna have that bag. I ain't no doubt
about it. I ain't no doubt about it. Best locker
room story that you never told on on live on podcasts.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Locker room story, Man, that's a thick archive.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
One of the best. Ain't the best, yeah, but one
of the best. Oh Man, locker room story. You ain't
got nothing like Darry Rose. He had one with somebody
body slam Sam Mitchell.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
No no, no, no, it got real one day. Uh
so Delonte West is playing Von wayfor once right after
practice is over. This practice is over, we all in
the locker room, so I'm still kind of on the court,
some guys in the weight room, some guys in the
locker room. So I'm kind of watching him play once.
(24:03):
It's getting heated too. It's getting heated. So Delonte check up.
I don't know what happened before this, but the check
was so was so hard. He tried to knock his
face off. He said, check from this close.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Right, and I was just like, damns, automatic fight.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
No, exactly, automatic fight close. The check was full blown
to his chest and so he was like come on man.
And so Danny right there too, So we kind of
watching it, you know, voon kind of they battling for minutes.
So they playing once. So all right, it happened again.
(24:42):
He scored on him again, checked again. I'm talking about hard.
He hit him hard in the face, getting hot. He
was like, man, I ain't about to do this though,
so he he walk off like I can't do this.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Man.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
We're like, Dad, you're gonna quit. So he's like, man,
I don't want to do it. Man, I'm I can't.
I ain't about to till this bullshit right.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yeah, he don't want to probably fight though, Yeah, he don't.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Want to fight, want to fight. So I'm like, d
you you good?
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Dog?
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Come on man, chill dog chill. He's like, yeah, I'm good. Here,
I'm good. So Vonn already went back to the locker room.
I'm talking to Delonte West in the weight room. He's like, yeah, yeah,
I'm good. I'm good. All right, man, were done. He
walks in the locker room. He has to walk past
Man Vafer. He walks past Man Wayfer said, boom clean
(25:32):
his clock right there right, and just fired on him
in the mouth. Come on, just fired on him. But
look this one, we had Diesel on the team. Uh,
we had all big dudes on the team. You had
Diesel perk j OKG like we all they are. So
they turned looking like oh damn.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Because it's too late. Just fired on it.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
And then and then he fired on him. So now
they're testing in the locker room. Then then away for
somehow get him off on hi because mom was sitting
down somehow getting up there and slammed the West on
the thing. And so we had to break it up. Shack.
I think Shaq broke it up. This shack broken up
because it ended up from right here all the way
in front of the shack locker or something. And I
(26:16):
was like, damn, that was a crazy day right there.
That was crazy. That was funny.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
We still Hey, that's the competitor in Delonte West. He
couldn't win, he couldn't get a stop, so he fired.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah, and then one day we watched a film. Here
go another one. One day we watched a film in
the locker room, and the start of the show that
day was Rondo Man. Doc was hot at Rondo, so
he kept pointing out something. Rondo Man. Rondo must have
grabbed his shoe and smashed the television. He got it there,
(26:48):
just left. Yeah, I was like, damn, I mean he
was just riding Rondo though. He was like, Rondo was
the blame before we lost. I think this was a
playoff game too. I think I can't remember, but like
then it's man, I could ride a hole. But but
that's just a couple of little like stories from the
locker room that like never made the media or nothing
like that.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Yeah, that's gonna locker room, y'all.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Had.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I love it. The Lante is competitor in it. Yeah. Yeah,
he's a fierce competitor for Shure. So he losing, he
can't get a stop.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Oh my gosh, she went he went to tactics. Yeah,
I'm talking about the check after the first check. Me
and Delante would have been fighting after the first one. Yeah,
the first check check was because he's still he was
this we see.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
That would have saved von Way for a lot of stress.
But you gotta understand, Vin, it's just gonna escalate. If
you let me step on your shoes. Pretty soon, I'm
gonna be reaching in your pocket. It's gonna it's gonna escalate.
It's gonna escalate. You gotta stop everything at the door.
The first thing right there, This is it right here.
Now you have to raise him one. Yeah, but that
(27:55):
was you gotta go to another level.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
I actually I took I took a eight to the
locker room before you mean, I just showed her the
court like, yeah, this is where we practiced at. I
showed her the logo letter touched the logo I did.
I took a date to the locker room because you know,
we had twenty four hour access, so I took it.
I was like, we stopped by the locker room, like, yeah,
(28:18):
this is my locker, right.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
This is before this, before this, before social media.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yeah yeah, yeah, this is rookie contract.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
This is before social media, just before social media.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Like, yeah, this is my locker right here, take you
off to the court. Look, yeah, I remember doing that.
I never that was a date. That was a date.
That was a date. Yeah yeah, because I lived down
the street. I said, let's sart r here, let's show
you my locker. That was a rookie contract though.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
That right, take the day, let me show you my locker,
but we'll show you my locker.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
That was the date.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Wow, that was Yeah. She liked it.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
She's like, dang, this is before social media though. You know,
I thought it was cool because we finally we got
our practice facility, you know, right.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
No practice facility was rare.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We got all practice facility.
You know, I'm going to the Clippers ain't got no
practice facility. The Lakers either, like a lot of teams didn't.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
They practiced Southwest cause Lakers.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah. Yeah, so we got ours because we didn't have
ours my first year, I think the practice facility came
like my second or third year, so I was.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Like, man, I think that second we stayed out there
the whole.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
We stayed out there for the summer, and before there.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Wasn't no reason to stay out There wasn't nothing there
priced at Brand Dice.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Can't get into Brand Dice.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, I mean, that's not even a facility though, you
gotta that's a school. So it's like, that's a whole
other deal. You can't just go up in there a
practice facility, And that just shows you where the NBA
is today compared to NBA Pro facility.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Ain't like that. It's hard to pull in free agents.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Okay, let's let's let's let's get out of here with
this one. It's a double question. What is your best
arena to play in road trip wise? Maybe because it's
the whole deal, Like the arena, the night life after
the games. Now, what's the worst one that turns up? Dang,
(30:24):
this arena, the fans is on me, the rent, this
cold in here, it's weak, the food is nasty.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
So the best arena that's gonna give you the whole,
you're gonna get the Holy Trinity. I like the arena,
the hotel, the restaurants, all of that's gravy. It's probably
New York. I like to play in the garden, so yeah, yeah, yeah,
because I went to the garden more so I like
to play in the gardeners. You know certain restaurants I
(30:56):
like to go to. They had all the different restaurants
and they stayed open late. See that big in the
NBA stuff that stayed open late. Because yeah, because we're
getting out of the game eleven thirty twelve or landing
in the city one of like twelve one o'clock, stuff
that got stay open late. You know that's you love that.
So I'm gonna save for that worst city man, Cleveland. Bro.
(31:21):
Oh my gosh. I cannot.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Right nowland though, because I got I went to Morton's
Steakhouse and got sick off of morton Steakhouse in Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
But you're not supposed to get sick out of chain,
like disrespectable. I ate the I ate the shrimp and
they was like undercooked. I think I remember I had
food poison in the next day at the game, I
was like, I can't ever remember being out of my
hotel room in Cleveland, bugs cold, It's it's bad it's bad.
(31:58):
And our hotel is connected to the mall. So it's
fans everywhere. You can't even It's like, man, it's connected
to the malls. Yeah, the hotel we stay is connected
to the mall. So like you go downstairs in the mall,
like what is this now?
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Always always.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Where it's like overplaying so and so New York. Man.
Ticket used to be out till six in the board
of New York.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
What about another city? Was there another city that was
like Memphis or Houston, or Atlanta or Portland.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Or any any like that.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Toronto, Toronto. We I'm talking about we have a one
o'clock game the next day. We're gonna be out in Toronto.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
Think about that a one and afternoon game, because we
played a lot of one in the afternoon games there
for some reason, or on like a Friday or like
a Saturday. I remember, Sam, let's go, let's get out.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
We do.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
It's gonna buck Toronto and I mean and beat them.
But Toronto was a great city because they had nice
little lounges you can hang out at and cool spots. Yeah,
they're very very accommon national international. It felt like you
was at overseas, but you Wasn't I love Toronto. The
people are nice shure. Yeah, I love Toronto. All right, y'all.
