Welcome to the Upside with Jordan adose of good news, because it's a
big world out there. Perhaps you'veheard a horse refer to as old paint.
Well, I've got a story abouta horse that knows how to paint.
The horse is named Blue, ownedby Erica Tully of Carolina Beach,
North Carolina. When Erica noticed thather horse enjoyed grabbing things with his mouth,
she taught him a new skill that'smade him rather popular. Horses don't

try to bite, but that's howthey pick up things well. The adopted
thoroughbred, a former race horse,was given a paint brush by Tully,
who herself is an artist, andthat brought Blue into the art world.
Last fall, Erica taped a paintbrushto her carrot and position Blue in front
of a canvas. The result beautifuland colorful, modernistic paintings that have actually
been selling. Erica says it wasalmost as if he just knew what he

needed to put a few strokes on. So far, Blue has sold about
a dozen. You have to believethere's a masterpiece around every corner. Sometimes
