Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the upside with Jordan, a dose of good news,
because it's a big world out there. The oceans comprise
much of our world, and by now you've heard about
how messy the ocean is, with miles and miles of
plastics and other junk polluting our waterways. But there is
good news in the form of an organization called the
Ocean Cleanup and their goal is to clean up ninety
percent of floating ocean plastic pollution by the year twenty

(00:22):
forty and they're well on their way, intercepting plastics and
rivers before they even make it to the oceans. Right now,
they're introducing plastic eating fungi and bacteria, and with news
that all plastic waste may become decomposable soon, certainly has
long term positive ramifications. Their cleaning technologies are deployed around
the world and it's been ongoing for ten years, with

(00:44):
tens of millions of kilograms of junk removed today. Find
out more at Theeoceancleanup dot com and feel better to
know that some fine folks are working on it. And
that's the upside with Jordan. WZ Boston's news Radio
