Because it's a big world out there. Life can change
in an instant, certainly the case with Darren Awell. Back
in twenty eleven in London, when he was shot and
paralyzed from the waist down during a robbery, he was
told he would never walk again. Fast forward to today,
Darren is now forty two years old and using crutches.
He has not only learned to walk again, but get this,

he just completed the London Marathon using crutches and a wheelchair,
finishing in six hours and thirty five minutes. He says,
through sheer determination and relentless effort, I rehabilitated myself and
regained the ability to walk, even without feeling in my legs.
It was a tough journey, but he says one of
his biggest motivations was his son, who was just two
years old when Darren was struck down. He says, it

gave me the momentum to see me walking again. Everyone
has a purpose, a drive and someone they're doing it for.
