Welcome to the Upside with Jordan a dose of good news,
because it's a big world out there. I recently came
across this story and just had to share it with you.
It involves a Massachusetts director of nursing by the name
of Liz Smith, who began fostering a baby or nearly
thirty weeks premature in July of twenty sixteen due to
her birth mother's drug use during pregnancy. The child, named Giselle,

weighed under two pounds at birth and spent three months
in the nicu at Franciscan Children's Hospital in Boston. Because
she was abandoned, the infant had no visitors save for
nurse Liz Smith. Well, Liz decided to foster this little girl,
helping her thrive outside of the hospital, and when after
several months, she realized that the birth parents' rights were
terminated they did not want to be involved in the

raising of the child, Liz legally adopted her. This happened
about seven years ago, and as far as we know,
both daughter and mother are doing well. As the nurse

I needed to love this child and keep her safe,
