Welcome to the Upside with Jordan A dose of good news,
because it's a big world out there. Today. News about
a woman named Amanda Judyen. She's a mother of five,
recently became a grandmother, and she's also a recent graduate
at Tennessee Tech University. But she didn't walk the commencement alone.
By her side was her loyal guide dog, Colonel See.
Amanda is blind. She lost her vision in early twenty

twenty due to retinitis pigmentosa. Her site was getting progressively
worse over the years, but finally it was total blindness,
forcing this mom to acquire new skills. In twenty twenty one, undaunted,
she went to the Colorado Center for the Blind, spent
months learning Braille, mobility, assist of technology, and more, and
then in twenty twenty two, she enrolled in Tennessee Tech,

graduating with honors with a focus on organizational leadership. As
she says, most people are put in a box and
give up on trying to be independent. But blindness in
my case doesn't have to be an excuse. And that's
