Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning, kiss hey,
good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
When a pop story is big enough, instead of talking
about it in three Things you Need to Know, which
happens at seven fifty, six, fifty, seven fifty and eight
fifty every day, we'll chit chat about it here because
I think this is going to become the biggest story
in the next like a day or so. Do you
remember Twitch from Ellen de Generes and his suicide in
(00:30):
December of twenty twenty two. That was a really big,
tragic what story you remember when the news broke about that?
Even if you didn't watch Ellen de Generis like after
school I did. I was a big Ellen fan after
school for years and years. Right, Twitch ended up coming
into the program somewhere midway through her career. I mean,
(00:51):
I don't know. He was the DJ, and then he
had taken on a bigger role and a bigger host.
And then during the pandemic is when I really thought
Twitch started to shine with his family because him and
his wife would do those dancing videos on social media.
Two years later, his wife is getting ready to put
out a book, a memoir with People magazine, and it
(01:13):
is leaving a bad taste in the public's mouth. Now
you know me, I treat things hopefully very delicate and
have an understanding that these celebrities are real people too,
regardless of their financial status and what they do for
a living. If you were to sit across for me
with an iced coffee and we would probably have the
same conversation that I'm having with you right now. But
(01:34):
I'm having a hard times understanding this angle here on
where she's going with this. So People Magazine released this clip.
I'll play it for you. It's about a minute long,
and then we'll chat. Nope, I'm sorry, that's Nicky Glazier.
That is for three things you need to know. Okay,
here we go with.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
An ex that had addiction problems. I had dealt with
an ex that had addiction problems, and then I realized
Steven had addiction problems. And it's something that I kind
of I've been like, what where was I involved in this?
And I had to take some steps for myself to realize, like,
you know, I was able to help one, and I
wish I could have been that for the other, but
(02:12):
it's also not my job to do that. There was
a moment I was with one of my really dear
friends and we were cleaning out the closet and picking
out an outfit for him for the funeral. And it
was a really triggering moment for me because there was
a lot of things I discovered in our closet that
I did not know existed. And it was very alarming
(02:32):
to me to learn that there was so much happening
that I had no clue. So that was it was
a really scary moment in my life to figure that out.
But it also helped me process that he was going
through so much, and he was hiding so much, and
there must have been a lot of shame in that,
and he was wrestling with a lot inside himself, and
(02:53):
he was trying to self medicate and cope with all
those feelings because he didn't want to put it on
anyone because he loved everyone so much. He didn't want
to other people that take on his pain.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Okay, So if you just happen to come in in
the middle of that clip or in the midst of
talking about Alison Hochler, who is married to Twitch from
the Ellen DeGeneres Show two years after his passing, maybe
a little bit more. She's getting ready to team up
with People magazine to release, you know, some information and
a memoir.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Now, the bizarre part of this is in the journal.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Let me just I'm gonna just say the facts and
then you can create your opinion on them. In this book,
there's supposedly journal entries from Twitch. She supposedly is supposed
to give us more insight to him and the things
that she learned about him after his death. So things
(03:42):
that she might have found in that closet, et cetera.
How are you feeling about that? Trying to see it like,
maybe she needs the money, although I doubt it, but
maybe maybe she needs the finances and she needs the
help death money, finances. They're all very odd and I
get I'm getting the sense of this on the other side,
(04:03):
as I helped to plan my father's estate. You know,
he's alive and well, but when you involve money and family,
things get weird. So another thing that I found out,
and by the way, I believe her manager or his
manager has been just coming for her on social media.
You could read through some of these screenshots, we're learning
that anyone that went to Twitch's funeral had to sign
(04:25):
an NDA, including his own mother.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Now, I don't know if that's because maybe she.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Wanted to keep his private life private right and she
didn't want any of that information coming out. Maybe she
wanted to save it for the book, but why I
can't and you trust your gut on this one. I
remember kind of looking back at some of the footage
and being like, wow, Like what she's putting forth on
social in the last two years might not be the same.
(04:53):
I would put foth on social if someone that I
love deeply just committed suicide.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
That's me, though I'm a.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Little bit different. You know, everyone's grieving process is their own.
Grief is not linear, et cetera. I'm trying to treat
this delicately, but there's something about it that's not sitting
well with me. I'll be curious to learn more. You
can find some of that footage online if you want
me to repost it. I will at Kiss one oh seven,
so you don't have to go hunting far for it.
(05:19):
But just know that that's gonna be one of the
biggest stories I think of the week.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
When there's more, I'll have that for him, all right.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Speaking of stories, the biggest one here in Sinci is
the weather. Oh boy, the universe said you just cleaned out.
Mm mmmm walk in babe, Friday afternoon. We could get
some more snow. I'll have totals, et cetera coming up
in a few minutes with the three things you need
to know to get your day started.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
In Sinsey, Good morning,
