Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up in the morning.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
The biggest thing we have to remember is that it
is Friday of Memorial Day weekend. I have a beanie
on and my seat heater was full blast. But it
is Friday of a three day weekend, even three and
a half for some I feel like summer Friday hours
typically kick off Memorial Day weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
But is that just a Massachusetts New England thing.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
People try to escape the city early, so they get
out of work early on either a Thursday or even
Friday afternoon. Does that happen here? What do you've got
going on for the holiday weekend? What's the vibe?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Essentially?
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Hey Tiff, good morning, and happy Friday from the cold
beer guy. Thank god it's Friday. It's definitely been a
long week for the beer delivery drivers out here.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Happy Memorial Day.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Thank you for the talkback with Tip. That's a good
way to let me know what your weekend plans are.
You're right, the beer delivery truck that is that thing
is non stop this weekend. You think the taste of
Cincinnati isn't gonna have beer, You think that the Memorial
Day parties aren't gonna happen, Just because Mother Nature's out
to lunch this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Absolutely not, Yo, what are your plans?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Don't I don't know of any friend outside of John
John that's doing traveling. But Memorial Day weekend back in
Massachusetts was always a really big deal, the unofficial start
to summer. I mean not that that doesn't happen anywhere
everywhere rather, but it was always like, yes, a good feeling,
you know, does it happen here? John's the only one
(01:39):
I know. He's traveling a lot to Hilton Head next
week or this week rather. Regardless of what you have
going on, you can use that talkback feature.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Want to know what the vibes are? Is at school? Sports?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Is it taste? What are you thinking? You can always
travel around with kiss one oh seven one. When you
search us on the iHeartRadio app, will take care of
the playlist. Coming up at six point fifty, will dive
into the three things you need to know to get
your day started in Sinci, including new music Friday.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
When you need to know She's got you. It's three
things with tip one.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
All right, good morning to you, my friend. What about
new music Friday?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
What about it? Should we get there?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
We will eventually some looks like it's gorgeous outside.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Right now. I have a beanie on and I put
my seat heater on. Let's touch base on the weather,
you know.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
I guess we can say joy that we have the
three day weekend and that it is going to be
mostly sunny today to start Tomorrow looks sunny and we'll
see in the sixties. And you know what, that is
much better than some other places in the country. I'll
say that a Monday tends to look the nicest, partly
(02:50):
cloudy skies with at least the warmer temperatures in the seventies.
We'll also start with the taste of Cincinnati always holds
a special place in my heart. It was the first
thing I ever went to when I'm moved here. And
that kicks off tomorrow goes through Monday. At this point,
we've already covered the road closures pretty extensively, but you'll
see those in effect through even the start of work
(03:12):
next week. And that obviously goes towards Columbia Parkway and
it's usual place around P and G and Fifth Streets,
So be aware of that. Looking forward to all the
vendors and hoping to catch you outside if you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Be at the Taste of Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
You'll have to shoot me a message second in three
things you need to know this morning. We're not far
off from a Miley Cyrus album. It comes out next week.
And she was on Jimmy Kimmel last night talking about
the difference between Nickelodeon.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Gaze and the Disney gaze.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
And here's the club. No, that's Ocean Gate. Sorry here
it is no offense. But in general, they do like
boogers and like, you know, like bro jokes.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Uh huh okay.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
N Disney, I would like to think is a little
bit more, you know, fabulous, especially if it's about a
teenage pop star waring a wig, like being the most
famous drag.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Queen for kids ever.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
And I'm like, you're gay, and you like, don't live
for Hannah Montana.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
What's wrong with you? So I introduced them.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
To Hannah and obviously they were gagged.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
They're obsessed with the difference between the Nickelodeon ones and
the Disney ones.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
By the way, her visual album from this and we
talked about this a little yesterday, how she's not touring,
She's gonna put this in theater. Here's a clip of
the trailer with the new song easy Lover that will
come out officially next Friday. But I did play a
clip for you yesterday, good right the thing with the
(04:54):
So the album comes out next Friday. But something Beautiful Beautiful,
which is the name of the visual album, will be
in Cinema US for only one night US and Canada
on June twelfth, and then international on June twenty seventh.
You can buy tickets right now or at least pre
save them. And then, lastly, in three things you need
to know, it is new music Friday. What do we
(05:15):
have today? What are you interested in hearing? What do
you need to know? I think the biggest song that
people are talking about is this Alex Warren and Jelly
Roll song. It's called Bloodline. Here's a clip.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Yea each other and you stealing cats.
Speaker 7 (05:39):
To break the day.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
You don't have to follow.
Speaker 7 (05:54):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
I love that song so much. It's called Bloodline Alex
Warren and Jelly Roll.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
And by the way, I have your chance to see
Alex Warren when he comes back to Sincy this October.
He had that super sold out show at Bogart's this
past Sunday. Set reminder will do that around eight thirty
this morning. That is three things you need to know
for the twenty third of May. Coming up at seven
oh five, we're commercial free for your Memorial Day Friday.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
You're waking up with TIF in the morning on a
Memorial Day weekend Friday. That's how my dad would say
back in Massachusetts, Memorial Day.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Happy Memorial Day.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Man. I don't know why that brought me so much joy,
good energy, hopefully good energy all around this morning. It's
Friday of the long weekend. We're gonna be hanging out.
I'm checking in on you. What's your plan. I've only
talked to one friend of mine that has actual plans
this weekend outside of like Tasas, Cincinnati and you know,
kids sports, and that's John John. He's gonna be traveling
(06:58):
to Hilton Head. I'm a little jelly. Maybe sun will
be there, not that it's not out here, but Hi.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Tip, good morning from the cold Beer guy. Definitely got
a pretty busy weekend. It's fiance's birthday, so definitely going
something special for her nice and Sunday night plan on
going to see Breaking Benjamin at Riverbin.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Are you going to that show? By chance?
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yes? I am actually Saturday Night Breaking Benjamin. I am
going to that show. I don't know a single song
lyric from Breaking Benjamin, but I'm gonna go. I think
I want to go because I want to just be
at riverbend. Riverbend like smells and tastes like summer to me.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
So I too will go.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
And Happy birthday to your wife or your partner there.
I don't remember what you called her. I don't think
you said her name, but happy birthday to her. It's
also my best friend Tom's birthday. Having a birthday on
a long holiday weekend, oh a gift. Anyways, I appreciate
you stopping by the show. Kiss one O seven one
is commercial free for the rest of the hour, and
(07:57):
as you go about your holiday weekend, let us take
care of the playlist for you all week and long.
We'll have bangers if you're traveling, if you're staying put,
if you don't feel like putting energy and effort. You
know my thoughts, low commitment, easy, relaxed effort. It is
free to be a part of this show. Just search
Kiss one O seven one on iHeart Radio because you're.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Waking up with fifth in the morning.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
H Kiss one I love that song, Good party vibes
all weekend long on Kiss one oh seven one. About
an hour from now, we're going to talk about graduation
advice from different people and such.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
So if you've got a graduate in.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Your life, great, If you are graduating, we'll do that
within the hour while I have you right now. There's
a good chance that you might have even heard this
on the show before, or maybe you scrolled past this
same clip. But are you financially responsible for an X
if that person has helped build your, let's say wealth.
(08:55):
This clip is coming out of Club Shasha with Dave Portnoy.
I'm gonna let him explain it, and then of course
you and I will chit chat about it. But start thinking,
start thinking, where where's your head at with this?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Is it true your ex wife have access to you
by the gun?
Speaker 8 (09:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (09:08):
I told you I trust her implicitly. I beg you
bodon implicitly. I trust her if she wanted to take it,
she could. There's very few people that you meet where
you can trust implicitly, and to be honest, she was
there when we were living at the in law's house.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
She was there when we could an.
Speaker 9 (09:21):
Afford to Hamburg. She was there through the grind. She
to me, just like we kind of separated when we
start making it, so she doesn't get to enjoy any
of that.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
To me, that's not right.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I'm a loyalty guy. You are boy, you you locked
the saw for real?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
I'll so had me thinking, And it actually had me
thinking because we talked about this a little bit yesterday
as well, like this the different that's the celebrity world, right,
did There's a really good chance even I combined don't
have deve Portnoy money. But what I like to do
with my show is take anything that's happening in the
celebrity world and kind of bring it to our own
(09:56):
kitchen tables and have some nice coffee and chit chat
about it.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
What's your take?
Speaker 3 (10:01):
My first gut reaction was, in girl World, how could
you emotionally move on from someone if they still have
access to your bank accounts? So maybe that's a selfish
thought out of my brain, right, But then what's the
angle of Well, if we have friendship and good partnership
and I've helped you build this.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Company from the ground up. I think of Jeff.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Bezos and his wife, is she entitled to some of
his money. Now again, they don't have kids, and I
actually think they're only legally separated and not officially divorced.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Don't quote me on that one.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
So yes, of course if there are kids and there's alimony,
and of course all those things are involved, right, But
if you're just straight up, you still have the pin,
the four digit pin code to get into the bank account.
What are your thoughts on that? Are you still finance?
Are you doing this? Is this happening here in our
regular world, in our inner circles? Are you still financially
(10:58):
responsible for an ex even if you've moved on, but
they've helped you build maybe some of your wealth and
success five win, three seven four nine one oh seven one.
If you're on the go and you don't have time
to contribute, you can always talk back with Tiff on
the iHeartRadio app. I always love a good unhinged voice.
No microphone is in the top right hand corner.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
I always appreciate contributions to Tiff in the Morning because
I think it makes the show a little bit more
well rounded. So I've been filtering through some calls, and
that's what we're going to get to right away. You're
listening to kiss one oh seven one commercial free and
what a Cincinnati's opinion on whether or not you are
still financially responsible for an x.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
If they've helped build your wealth. Hi, you're on the air,
your first callar of the day.
Speaker 8 (11:45):
Good morning. I think Jave Portnoy is not smart. I
think it's ridiculous that somebody has a bank account with
them after they break up.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
I only simply for closure reasons, and maybe that's just
the way my emotions in brain work. But if I
am still attached to you in any way, then I'm
attached to you, right.
Speaker 8 (12:07):
I feel like she still has some control over him
having that bank account, even though she doesn't use it.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Okay, what's your name, by the way, what neighborhod you
waking up with me in this morning?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
My name is Morgan.
Speaker 8 (12:16):
I'm from Aurora, Indiana.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Morgan, you don't you're not going through anything similar, are you?
And just want to check?
Speaker 1 (12:21):
No?
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Okay, okay, if you're just walking into the conversation. I
had just played this clip, I'll run it back for
you quick quick about Dave pot and I saying that
I'll let him explain it. But his wife, his ex
wife still has access to his bank accounts.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Is it true your ex wife have access to you
by the count?
Speaker 9 (12:36):
Yeah, I told you I trust her implicitly. I beg
you bodon implicitly. I trust her if she wanted to
take it, she could. There's very few people that you
meet where you can trust implicitly, and to be honest,
she was there when we were living at the in
law's house. She was there when we couldn't afford to Hamburg.
She was there through the grind. She to me just
like we kind of separated when we start making it
(12:56):
so she doesn't get to enjoy any of that.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
So there you go. That's kind of that.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
That's the baseline of what we're talking about, and we're
getting mixed reactions.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Good morning, you're on the stone.
Speaker 7 (13:04):
I don't understand how. If he has money, that's one thing.
If he has the money to support two different people,
that's one thing. But I don't understand the other person
getting into a relationship. Did you not know that he
was supporting an X before that?
Speaker 10 (13:24):
Like?
Speaker 7 (13:24):
Are you okay with that? Like the new person that's dated?
Speaker 11 (13:27):
That doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I would who would be okay with that?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
That's exactly where my brain initially went and for I
don't know if I can speak on behalf of Dave Portnoy.
I'm pretty sure his ex girlfriends knew because he's been
very public that they're legally separated, but they're not officially divorced.
And I think the reason why they're not is because
it was super complicated financially. So it feels like one
of those things they've just kicked down the road. But
(13:50):
I don't quote me on that.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
I mean, if you're David, if you're dating Dave Courtnoyd,
you're dating for a reason.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
All right, it was your name. By the way, what
neighbor aready waking up with?
Speaker 12 (14:01):
Me?
Speaker 2 (14:01):
And Bailey and him?
Speaker 10 (14:03):
Bailey?
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Thank you, good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
I just wanted to weigh in on the tips in
the morning thing. That's the financial support of event.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
You got it? That's me, Mike Gal. What do you
have for me?
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Yeah, so it's not actually me, but my dad and
my mom. They made an agreement that my dad would
pay her six hundred bucks every month for the rest
of their lives after their marriage ended, and I think
I think that was the right thing to do. I mean,
he financially supported her for over twenty years she didn't
(14:38):
need a job, and then suddenly he kind of laid
it on her, but they weren't going to be together anymore,
and it kind of left her in a really bad place.
And then when he got remarried, his new wife was not.
Speaker 8 (14:52):
Happy about that at all.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Did he maintain it even though she wasn't unhappy? But
she was unhappy?
Speaker 5 (15:00):
No, she because they made the mutual agreement out of
you know, restuckt for each other. Yeah, before he got remarried,
there was no paperwork that said that he had to
do it.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Thank you for the call. I had a feeling that
was going to be that was going to be the case.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
We haven't gotten one person that's like, yes, it's fine.
Five one, three, seven, four nine, one oh seven one. Hi,
good morning. You're waking up with TIF in the morning
on Kiss one oh seven one. We're in the midst
of commercial free music, and we're not far off from
three things you need to know to get your day
started in Sincy. Are you still financially responsible for an X?
(15:38):
If that X has helped you build your life and
build some of your wealth. This is a clip coming
out of Dave Portnoy, which I had played a few
minutes ago, and we haven't had a chance to pop
over to our talkbacks. And I love when you leave them,
and I don't tell you too. It's my favorite thing.
Speaker 10 (15:52):
My fiance's x was supported by him for two years
after they finally separated.
Speaker 12 (15:57):
She didn't have a job that we wanted to make
sure the kids were taking care of.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
He was able to get a job after we got together.
Speaker 8 (16:04):
So the money he made was about twice as much
as he made when he was with her.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
But he would not have been able to do that
if I could help with the bills early on.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
And to this day, we still make sure she has
everything she needs for her and the kids and the
kids she had after him.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Okay, well, you're a very good person. Thank you for
the talkback with Tiff. I appreciate your take on that.
Where was I going with my brain on a one
this morning? There's kids involved first. I love peace and harmony.
I love harmonious relationships between blended families. Right, Millennials live
a lot of blended family life, But Dave Portnoy does
(16:44):
not share any children and his wife still his ex
still has access to his bank accounts.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
We had time for one more TV TBT, Go.
Speaker 12 (16:52):
Go the intern life instagony is Cincinnati is something else.
Dave Portnoy is doing exactly what is required of him,
both ethically and morally, because everybody is missing the point
where he says, she helped him build that and w
and have the expectation that they have to go and
live off of pennies after they helped build something cool.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
No No, I love that talk back, and I also
loved your take on it. I was waiting for someone
to give us another angle and perspective on it. It
reminds me of Jeff Bezos and his wife she or
his ex rather, she helped him build Amazon when it
was like a bookstore, right, and then it reminds me
(17:38):
of that show Loot on Apple TV. If you haven't
had a chance to see it and you're looking for
someone to watch, reinds me the same thing.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
I like that take all.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
Right.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
In the meantime, we're still commercial free. Contributions are yours
to make whenever you feel like it. We're not far
off from three things. Did I say that? I don't
think I did. We're not far off, so just don't
go far.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Not eating Lynn. You need to know She's got you.
It's three Things with tip on.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
That is a good song.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
A reminder Kiss one O seven to one your party
playlist throughout the weekend.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Search us on iHeartRadio. We're gonna get to.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Kid Cutty here in a hot second Joe Burrow's favorite
artist reminder at eight thirty, I have your chance to
win Alex Warren tickets. So I have been waiting for
the Kid Cutty testimony out of the Ditty trial yesterday,
day thirteen. I believe Kid Cuddy took the stand and
(18:34):
gave us the account of the car explosion now, and
I didn't even realize that there was some potential breaking
and entering as well. This has been a long standing
rumor that Diddy had blown up Cassie's car when he
found out that the two of them were seeing each other.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Now. Cassie testified that.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Combs set up some music meeting between Cuddy and Cassie
back in like twenty and eleven to work on a collaboration,
and then they ended up seeing each other. And they
ended up seeing each other to the point where she
got herself a burner phone to communicate with him. Her
and Colmbs were not together at the time, according to
you know, allegedly according to Cassie on this timeline from
(19:15):
at one point when Colmbs found out about the fact
that they were together, because they were still doing freak
offs even though Cassie wasn't romantically that involved with Diddy anymore,
she was still participating in them for her own reasons.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
I'm assuming trauma and abuse, etc.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Afraid to leave all the things that we've talked about
on this show. Found out that they were doing that,
Cassie calls Cuddy and says, come get me.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
He does.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
They go someplace like a way, and then Cuddy gets
a call that Combs is outside the car. His security cameras,
by the way, were not working at the time. Apparently
the dog was locked in the bathroom. And that's the
testimony essentially, in so many words, that we got out
of Cutty yesterday. He did go on social media after
(20:03):
the court date and here he is highlight that's not him.
Speaker 13 (20:09):
So I just want to say, man, I've been seeing
all the love and support and I just want to
say thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Man.
Speaker 13 (20:17):
People have been hitting me up the past week, just
checking in and even today, and it just it really
means a lot to me man.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
You know, I say it all the time when you're
in the jury of your own car and you're trying
to decide whether this man is guilty. It's not for abuse,
but I think that prosecution is trying to use all
of this to create the storyline.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
He's up for five counts.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
One of those RICO, one of those transportation to engage
in prostitution and sex trafficking. Of course, I'll keep you updated.
And I just I love kid Cutting. Probably my favorite
artist of all time, if not one of them, you know.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I think he's so sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I think he's just one of the best.
Speaker 12 (21:25):
You know.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
I wish he had gone through with that tour. He
was supposed to come to Heritage two years ago. All Right,
the second and three things you need to know. Let's
do a little touch base about the movies, etc. And
television shows in the box office. Devilwaar's Prada Too officially
has a release date of May one of next year.
Netflix dropped the trailer for the Oceangate documentary, which comes
(21:46):
out on June eleventh.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Here's a quick clip.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Went title was going to file, but it was a
mathematical certainty that it would file.
Speaker 8 (21:56):
That looks good.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
You remember how tragic that was.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Squid Games Season three out June twenty seventh, and in
the box office this weekend you've got Lee Loan Stitch
and Mission Impossible eight with Tom Cruise, Lots to save
all right, and then lastly in three Things you Need
to Know, a quick clip of new music Friday with
Alex Warren and Jelly Roll.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
This is called Bloodline. I love this, but well, don't
have to follow.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Each other.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
We do gets.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
And then you say, so good right, I actually have
your chance to see Alex Warren live at the Brady
this fall, coming up at eight thirty.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
You're waking up with Tip in the morning on Kiss
one O seven. Want some big Friday energy?
Speaker 2 (22:44):
We need it, We need it.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
You know, I've been complaining a lot about the temperature,
and I think at this point everyone is annoyed.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
I have a beanie on the office is like Tiff
sixty eight and sunny is not bad.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I'm like, well, I was really hoping to put a
bathing suit on at some point this week, but that's
just my Aquarius energy coming out. Kiss one I s
even one's commercial free as a reminder, access to your
party playlist throughout the weekend as you travel about, or
maybe you just stay local. Let us handle the music.
We're commercial free for the rest of the hour. If
you want to get a little taste of what's to come,
(23:15):
just search Kiss on the iHeartRadio app. It's a big
weekend in Cincy for the taste of Cincinnati, and I
feel like this weekend always holds such a special place
in my heart.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Because it was the first big.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Event that I went to on my own in my
new city when I moved here six years ago. Just
in case you're not familiar and this might be the
first time you're listening to Tip in the morning.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
I moved from Boston, which is where I grew.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Up, and I came here and I drove my two
thousand and four Suberu station wagon from Boston to Cleveland
ten hours with the finance guy, spent the night in
a hotel, and drove the other three hours the next
day and pulled right into iHeart Cincinnati, I think, on
May twentieth, twenty nineteen, and.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
It changed my life forever.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
And this is one of those moments, you know how
sometimes the core moments in your life, they just happen right,
whether you try to plan them or not. It's just
I knew something was going to come out of this.
I had no idea what it was, but I just
trusted my gut and I trusted the universe and took
a leap. And so if I can motivate you or
inspire you to maybe do the same thing. If you,
you know, kind of don't know where you're going in life,
(24:25):
you don't know what's going on. You feel this like
restlessness or anxiety, especially if you're getting ready to graduate,
just know that like life is going to happen around you,
just got to pay attention, open your eyes, and take
some chances. Trust your gut, flex your intuition.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
You know.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I was put up in a hotel at the Best
Western I don't know what it's called now writing Covington,
next to a convenience store that was titled Save on
SIGs at the time, and I remember sending tons of
pictures of that to my friends, being like, what am
I getting myself into? But my first event was the
taste of Cincinnati. I had walked over the Robling Bridge
because as a Bostonian walking miles is not a problem.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
So I you know it was a part of my nature.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Walked over to the Taste where it was in its
old location, and I ended up meeting a girlfriend there
and we became friends. And you know, she was my
first friend here. Her name is Amanda. She ended up
moving to Germany. But I think the Taste of Cincinnati
always holds a special place in my heart.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
So I hope to see you there this weekend.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
All right, speaking of all that stuff, all that good
juju and all that stuff, if you are getting ready
to graduate, we are going to hear from one infamous
green celebrity with graduation advice coming up.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Two songs.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Graduation's the keyword you're going to need for the Alex
Warren tickets. Don't go far. Good morning, get ready to cry.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning. Time kiss,
let us even one.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Let us talk about graduation, shall we? Graduation's the keyword
you're going to need for the Alex Warren tickets coming
up in a few minutes.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
I figured it's a good time for it. Well's do
graduation advice and such.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
I went to man La Elementary in Union, Kentucky yesterday,
and the fifth graders are getting ready to graduate to
the sixth grade, and I was observing and listening to
a teacher kind of talk to them and give advice
about positivity and kindness and what's to come. And so
I figured it'd be a good thing to spread throughout
the radio this morning in the show, So I have
two things to play you. The first, let's see if
(26:19):
you can guess who this infamous character is that gave
the graduation speech at Maryland.
Speaker 14 (26:26):
Hi, everybody, hello, I mean wow, look at this crowd.
What a thrill it is to be back here at
the University of Maryland and celebrate the class.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 14 (26:38):
Stay connected to your dreams, no matter how big, no
matter how impossible a seen. The truth is, dreams are
how we figure out where we want to go, and
life is how we get there.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
So sweet, I could cry, do you know who that is?
Kermit the Frog?
Speaker 3 (26:59):
I can't imagine how bizarre it is to sit in
your graduation chair and.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Look up if there's like a little green like iconic,
iconic thing.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
But I thought that was a good piece of advice.
There's also this trending video. I pulled it from Complex.
You guys know I'm a big fan and that's a
good follow where probably four or five sixth grade boys
recorded video messages for themselves when they're getting ready to
graduate high school for them to look back on and
answer the question.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
So I'll play that too for you. Hey Will, this
is your sixth grade self. I got a few questions
for you. Heinikinji, this is your sixth grade self. Remember me,
I have a few questions for you.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
Hey Christian, this is your sixth grade self, and I
gotta ask you a few questions.
Speaker 2 (27:42):

a few questions for you.

do that back in the day. Heyward.
Speaker 6 (27:54):
Is your favorite food still Mexican?
Speaker 11 (27:57):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (27:57):

The stutter is crazy?
Speaker 8 (28:20):

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Definitely Goberts.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
I thought that was so sweet.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Right.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
This is like six greater, you know, leaving messages for
their future self.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Have you done anything like that?
Speaker 3 (28:36):
I'd love to hear from you. Why don't we do
this piece of graduation advice? Give me a piece of
graduation advice? Talk back with Tiff is a good way
to do this. We could rap and fire through them.
Of course, you're more than welcome to call as well.
Five one three, seven four nine one oh seven one.
If you were offering a piece of graduation advice? What
would yours be? Uh, that's the key word. By the way,

Speaker 3 (29:14):

Thank you for the talk back with Tiff. By the way,
microphone is in the top right hand corner when you

job or the perfect relationship. Take it easy and enjoy
that time.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
I like that too. We'll leave it there for now,
all right, coming up next, if you've got.
Speaker 3 (29:36):

routine and waking up. What's it in the morning?
Speaker 5 (30:34):
Well, thank you always do every morning.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
I appreciate that. Any big plans for the weekend, what
are you thinking? I have a beanie on right now?
I'm cold.
Speaker 8 (30:42):
I know I'm not ready for this cold weather right now.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
Just no big plans yet.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
I get that I always like a spawnutaneous weekend and

know how it goes for you.
Speaker 2 (30:56):

Speaker 3 (30:58):
We're commercial free and don't forget kisses your party playlist
for the three day weekend traveling staying local doesn't matter
as long as you have battery life on your phone,
which I have an iPhone twelve Mini and that things
barely hanging on, but search kiss on iHeartRadio. Okay, Hey,
we're two songs out from three things you need to know.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
We'll talk new music Friday.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
You're waking up fifth in the morning time.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Kiss good morning.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Welcome back to Tips Community Corner, where I introduce you
to the people and the places that make up our
neighborhoods of Cincinnati, and as we enter Pride Month, I'm
excited to introduce for the first time on my show,
Justin Huckey, who is the founder of Queen City Charities,
because we have probably one of the more iconic events
(31:41):
coming up on June eighth, called Wigs and waffles. Now
those two things together just sound like a good time
in general.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
But justin welcome to the show, Thanks for having me,
You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
So Ryan Geist on a Sunday morning at ten thirty
am on June eighth is gonna sol off.
Speaker 11 (32:01):
And now imagine there's six hundred and fifty people there,
music blaring, waffles and drinks are flowing.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Vibes are high, the highest vibes you will ever get.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Yeah, this will be the first Sunday morning time that
I've walked into wigs and waffle, which.
Speaker 11 (32:16):
Is a shame.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
I know.
Speaker 11 (32:17):
We need to talk to somebody about that. I would
like to speak to you. I would like to speak
to the manager.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Well you need a different haircut, if you'd like to
speak to the manager. If you were to describe it
to me for the first time, though, as like someone
that maybe potentially buying their first ticket, what would one
expect at you know, Sunday ten thirty am at ryan geis.
Speaker 11 (32:34):
You know, at its base on paper, right, it's it's
brunch buffet, it's open bar, drag show, you know, silent auction, activations,
life painting, you know, all the things that make an
event fun and interesting. What you won't find on paper,
you know, and it's all for charity, right. What you
won't find on paper is kind of how you said,
(32:55):
like the vibes are high when you ask anyone who
tended to like, it is fun and it is joyful.
It is happy, it's community, it's it's everything you want
out of an event. It's you know, not to say
it's like a Tailor Swift concert, but it kind of
is if you've ever been, like, it's just like Simlary,
Like it's just like everyone's happy to be there and
like they're like, yeah, like we're all in this together.
(33:17):
Make people. But yeah, I mean like six hundred and
fifty people at rang Geist, so you know, the place
shuts down for us, which is awesome, and they're a
great partner in it all. So but it's it's just
it's just pure fun and.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Joy a great place to connect with people exactly say
make friends. I would assume that's what I when I
when you say Taylor Swift concert, I was like energy
and connection all right.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
So June eighth, wigs and waffles.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Obviously the money goes back to charity, even the tips
that you throw at the drag Queen's go back to
Queen City Charities. Walk me through quickly on what Queen
City Charities is for Cincinnati.
Speaker 11 (33:55):
Yeah, so, Queen City Charities is a nonprofit. We started
in twenty twenty two, so this is your five of
Wigs and Waffles, so that was around before Queen City Charities.
But what we do at QCC is we raise money
and then we give it back to organizations in our
local community doing programming directly for the LGBTQ plus community.
So whether that be you know, addressing mental health and suicide, homelessness,
(34:19):
or housing insecurity, you know, needs for clothing, and various
other programs, that's what we're here to do. So we
want the dollars to go where they're going to make
the most impact. Every dollar stays here in Greater Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Which is great.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
As we head into June, you're gonna come up against
so many and they're all great for their own reasons.
Different events to get involved with for the lgbt TQ
plus community. This is just the first really like to
launch into the month.
Speaker 11 (34:47):
Yeah, I mean there's events all throughout the month. We
have events throughout the month, and we have events all
throughout the year. So we have great community partners we
work with. We have great local businesses that we work
with throughout the year to host various events. You know,
we do quarterly bingos with High Wire Brewing. You know,
this past spring we've done things at Washington Park. We've
done bingo with three CDC and I think there's more
(35:09):
of that to come. And so yeah, there's always opportunities
and there's a lot of great local organizations to support,
and this is just another way to kind of help
support support those organizations which.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Somebody has to right you know, if someone's got to
speak up for the community. So I'm glad that you're here.
I'm glad you're on Tiff in the morning. Since this
is such a good time. We do have a pair
of tickets. Would you like to give them away on
the air right now? And do you think that is
so much time?
Speaker 5 (35:34):
This?
Speaker 11 (35:34):
The time is now.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
The time is now.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
So if you have never been to Wigs and Waffles,
but it's something that you've seen on Instagram, caller ten.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
You don't even need a keyword.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
I just have the pair of tickets for you, or
at least Justin does five one three, seven, four nine,
one oh seven one if you want to be a
part of the event with us on Sunday, June eighth
at five one three seven, four nine, one oh seven one.
If you're like, listen, I need to consult like three
or four, five or six of my friends to come
to this eventually.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
Yeah. Where do they go and buy tickets?
Speaker 11 (36:03):
So you can have to Queen City Charities dot com.
You can buy tickets there. You can literally just google
wigs and waffles. I promise you, Okay, only one, I
mean yeah, I mean the only one worth going to.
You know, Queen City Charity is official on Instagram, any
anywhere you find it. Every community calendar will take you
back to buy tickets. So the more the merrier and
we will sell out. We always do.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Well. Thank you for joining TIF in the morning. I
appreciate you.
Speaker 11 (36:25):
Thank you for having me
