Speaker 1 (00:00):
For when you need to know she's got you. It's
three things with tip.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
If you don't understand the MLS, give me a hot
second or just before seven o'clock here on this Thursday,
another mild day ahead of us, kind of rinse the repeata.
Yesterday I walked into my job with no jacket on.
Oh I love it. Second to last day of February.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
All right.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
So FCC took home the win last night in their
Cup game. If you're like, I just don't understand. So
FCC in the middle of the beginning rather of their
MLS season regular season play, they opened that up last
Saturday at home. They'll play Philadelphia in Philadelphia this coming Saturday.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah, this coming Saturday.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
While that's happening, they're also playing in this Cup league.
And they ended up taking home the win last night
in aggregate, And I was like, what does that even mean.
It's basically a combined score of the last two games.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
That's all you need to know.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
They ended up taking home the win and they'll move
on to the next round of the Cup. Nothing confuses
me more than sports and scoring.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Like ask me to be a part of your Super
Bowl squares. Never I couldn't can't do it, but I.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Do love FCC, so congratulations to them all right, Second,
and three things you need to know. You couldn't open
up social media around lunchtime yesterday without seeing the tragic
news of Michelle Trachenberg passing away. At first, they were
reporting that they didn't have any information. They had assumed
she died from natural causes. How about twelve or so
hours into it, we started to learn that maybe this
(01:28):
had something to do with her recent liver transplan rumors,
and allegedly she was experiencing some complications.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Someone had posted on.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Social media recently and said, hey, Michelle, like, are you
all right? You look really frail, and she had kind
of come back and said, I'm fine, I'm living my
best life. I'm super happy, and tragically died at the
age of thirty nine. Now, if you're a millennial, you'll
recognize her from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl, Euro Trip.
She was also a childhood actress. Just really sad. I
(01:58):
mean to paint the picture for you, her and he
mom spending time together. She leaves Mom at night, goes
back to her New York City apartment, and then Mom
comes to find her the.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Next day, it's really really sad. Thirty nine is super young.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And then lastly, in three things you need to Know
kind of in the same vein Gene Hackman, this news
was announced maybe two three hours ago, passed away at
the age of ninety five. Now a full life, he's
an actor. Him, his wife and his dog all died
in their home together, which and the police are saying
no suspected foul play.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Which is that carbon monoxide? Maybe was this like a
notebook situation that was sad? I mean again, a full life.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Five time Oscar nominee picked up two oscars, best known
for his role in the French Connection, and a few
others be thinking to him and his inner circle, and
I'm curious to see what happens there. All right, That
is three things you need to know for the twenty
seventh of February, So second to last day in February,
coming up at seven ten this morning.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Do you remember this story?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Maybe two ish weeks ago, we talked about scams on
my show, and I had a listener call in and say,
oh my god, You'll never believe I was scammed out
of all the money that I spent on my wedding.
I'd given it to who I thought was gonna be
my wedding planner. She took the money and she ran
to CanCon. This woman lived in Kentucky. I got so
many dms, and I have an update on the story.
(03:23):
I got messages on it yesterday. If you're like, uh yeah,
talk back with Tiff on the iHeartRadio app if you
too were affected by this. The microphone is in the
top right hand corner. In fact, when you search kiss
one oh seven one, you can be a part of
the conversation.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
That's what we're gonna get to next.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Good Morning, you're waking up in the morning. Kiss.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
It's Butler County, not Burlington, Kentucky. I don't know why
I had those two names mixed.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Up in my head.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
When you hear of scams, like crazy, crazy scams, you
typically think, oh, that's not really around me, Oh like, oh,
that's a crazy story. It's something that you've scrolled across
on like a random Facebook page or something, but never
really anything in your own neighborhood. Like that woman from
France that gave all of her retirement money to an
AI image that she thought was Brad Pitt. Right, this
(04:09):
one is very much in our backyard, in their neighborhoods.
So I got a DM yesterday shout out to Sarah.
She sent me the Fox nineteen article about Nancy Jean Taylor.
Does that name sound familiar to you? Let me jog
your memory a little bit. By two ish weeks ago,
I think I was talking about scams on my show
and I had a listener call me.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
I'm blanket on her name. Maybe she's listening right now.
She'll call me back.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
She's like, Tiff, you want to talk scams. I booked
my wedding through Nancy Jean Taylor. She took the money
and ran to the Tropics. I said, oh my god,
that's crazy. She had told me that there was this
whole operation happening, and she actually told you that if
you had been going through something similar, that you could
get involved in whatever this legal sting was. Okay, So
(04:52):
the news came out yesterday that Nancy Jen also was
caught for scamming an eighty three year old woman for
the past year or so.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
And these scams are intense.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
So not only do I have that story from a listener,
Sarah DM me yesterday and said Nancy Jen also owes
me one thousand, six hundred and eight dollars to be exact.
Jesse DMed me and said, thanks for sharing that story.
By the way, Nancy got me as well for eight
thousand dollars for my husband's fiftieth birthday trip. She found
(05:27):
out eight days before they left on the trip that
she never booked it. Imagine all the she in orders
that you put, all the clothes that you bought, all
the things, all the the Etsy T shirts that you
put together for your husband's fiftieth birthday. Come to find
out all that's gonna be sitting in a box in
(05:48):
your dining room because you can't.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Go on the trip.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
She took the money and ran and listen. I hope
that you all understand. And by now you know me
well enough. You know the vibe of my show that
I don't try to kick anyone when they're down, even
when they're in the worst, the worst position. They've done something,
they've made mistakes. There's always a human under there somewhere.
So I don't want to make it rain on miss
Nancy Jean this morning, but wild this happened in our
(06:13):
own backyard. That's three stories that I've told out of
one woman, and I'm curious to see if we've had
anyone else. Five one three seven nine one seven one.
You can also talk back with Tiff on the iHeartRadio app.
You're also more than welcome to call and share a
scam that you suffered that has nothing to do with
this story as well. Again five one three seven four
(06:35):
nine seven one. In the meantime, we're commercial free.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Let's take some calls when the request line because you're
waking up fifth in the morning.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
KI, oh my god, we've we've tracked down Christina. Scam,
by the way, is a keyword for the let sing
tailor tickets you'll need in a few minutes. Good morning, Christina,
my gal, what is going on?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I just talked about you this morning. Yeah, she's in jail.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
She's in jail.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
They caught They caught miss Nancy Jean Taylor really quickly.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
If you didn't see this news story yet, a couple
of weeks ago, on my show, Christina had called and
said that they had that this woman, this travel agent
out of Butler County had booked her wedding supposedly, but
took all the money and ran Christina.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Man, they did. She's in the Boom County Ensal Center.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
You know, I don't want to kick a gal when
she's down right, even at the someone's worst of their worst,
there's still a human under there. But I still I
feel real bad for you. And after I told you,
you told your story on the air, I had people
DM me and call me and say that they got
her too.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
I cannot believe how big this scam was.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
It's huge, I'm right now, even to this day. I
just got another incident. I got a message from some
mighty that I don't know if she said the same thing.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
She took my depon do anything, and now I can't
get a hold of her. She blocked me, blah blah blah.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
I'm like, oh my gosh, honey, I got a good
I got a good one to tell you.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
So this guy, this woman, and this husband and wife
reached out to me and said, hey, we had the
same thing happened to us with her.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Two weeks before their daughter's wedding.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Nancy canceled the wedding they were supposed to go to
Dominic Republic.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
And then what she call Can you imagine she collected
the refund?
Speaker 4 (08:30):
I guess she did. I don't know all the just
but could you even imagine two weeks.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
From your wedding at Destination wedding and she canceled the
wedding saying that it was too dangerous for them.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
To trample Christina. That's crazy, I.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Know, I know. I'm just so happy she's in jail.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
What is the the and what they got her in
jail for? It was actually was scamming, but it was
for an elderly woman. Nothing to do with the travel
agency from what I've read.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
No no, no, no, no, no no no. She's in Boom
County right now for two counts. One of them at mine.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Credit card fraud is one of the counts and the
other one is something about a bad check Casina.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
What's the latest with you getting your refund?
Speaker 5 (09:16):
So most of my guests, not all of them, got
their refund back, but they had to dispute it with.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Their credit card company.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
So the credit card company is the ones, but we
had to fight with our credit card company. There's so
many different layers in this. Like from my wedding, my
dad and my family booked a casino trip with her,
and all the way up to the day before that,
they were supposed to leave for this casino trip.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
There was no itinerary.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
She drove it down from Springboro, Ohio, down to Alexandria, Kentucky.
When they handed when she handed my aunts d itinerary,
it was nothing what they were supposed to. My grandma's
ninety five. You can't put a room.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
She booked a hotel room like half a mile down
the road.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
That's so you a girl named Jesse dm me, Sarah
dm me, Like there's been you hear of this stuff,
but you never hear of it in your own backyard. Yeah, yeah, Well, Christina,
thank you for the update and the call. Anyone else
five one three seven four nine, one oh seven one?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Have you gotten scammed?
Speaker 2 (10:23):
By the way, that's the keyword for the Taylor tickets
coming up in a few Good morning, and Jojo was
out here writing bangers at a breakup bangers at like
fourteen and fifteen years old. You're waking up with Tiff
in the morning on a kiss one oh seven one.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
We're still commercial free. Good news, good news. I didn't get.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Any more calls or talkbacks on the Nancy Jean Taylor scam,
which is good. I don't want anyone else in sincey
getting scammed if you're just walking into the conversation. A
listener sent me shout out to Sarah a Fox nineteen
article about this woman who like got in trouble for
scamming multiple people.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Do you remember the story?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Maybe two weeks ago, Christine call and said, you want
to talk about scams? This Nancy Jen I gave her
all my money to book my wedding and she took
it and ran to the tropics. Multiple other people had
hit me up after that and said she got me too.
So as of right now, good news, good news in custody,
and I didn't get any more calls on that.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
We're still in the midst of chit chatting about your scams.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Though.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
If you've ever you know, fallen victim to something, I'm
gonna check your talk back.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
I got scammed I was fifteen, maybe sixteen, from a
person who took my money when I pretending to be
a famous person from young Eve from BTS.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Oh no, that very much reminds me.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Thank gave her the talkback with Tiff. The reminds me
of like Taylor Swift ticket scams. Right this BTS is
probably the same thing. Oh boy, all right, let's move
on from this conversation coming up three minutes from now,
what shit chat.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
About office etiquette. Let's talk about office etiquette.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
There's one thing happening in my office and I'm like, huh,
I wonder if anyone else is falling victim to this.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
And office etiquette and pet.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Peeves are interesting because it may bother you to your core,
but to someone else, they don't care about it. So
it's going to be fun to compare well to get
to that three minutes from now, I'll be found you're
waking up, kiss, Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
What's your biggest office pet peeve? Yellow? Yellow computer's malfunctioning.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
First office etique is grooming.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Don't groom yourself in the office.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I had somebody that was on the cubicle on the other.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Side of me that used to clip their nails at
their desk.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Nope, that's disgusting.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Do that stuff at home?
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Nope, nop, nope, nope, nope, nope. Why do you even
have that tool at your desk? Thank you for the
talkback with Tiff. When you search kiss on the iHeartRadio app,
it's an alternative way to contribute if you don't feel
like calling me. The microphone is in the top right
hand Kwana. It's office Etiquette's interesting because whatever bothers you
to your core might not be a big deal to
(13:13):
someone else. I think when I reflect on an office
etiquette communication, something to me. So I have this one
sales guy that and I get it. I mean, he's
working hard. I'm working hard. He'll call me or text
me late, and I understand that he's still very much working.
(13:33):
But you can't call me at eight o'clock at night.
I mean, I've got a mask on, I'm gasha in
my face. I'm trying to turn it down a little
bit so I can get ready to go to bed.
You know, you know my schedule. I'm up at I
was up at three thirty today. So I no, I
can't talk to you. I cannot talk to you at
eight o'clock at night. I mean, of course, there are exceptions.
(13:53):
Our business in our industry never really shuts down. I mean,
of course, we're you know, kind of always on it.
But I'm like, Johnny B, can't this wait until later?
Speaker 3 (14:01):
What the heck?
Speaker 7 (14:02):
Come on?
Speaker 8 (14:02):
My guy?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Also, never never, never book a Friday meeting with me
after eleven thirty.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
That's a no. Talk back with Tip or five win
three seven four nine, one oh seven one.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Office etiquette, Good morning, You're waking up with Tip in
the morning on kiss one oh seven one. I assumed
this would be the case. We're talking office etiquette and
pet peeves. The thing that bothers you to your core
might not bother someone else. So if it's okay with you,
I'm going to rattle through as many talkbacks as I
(14:35):
can in the efforts of your time and energy this morning,
and let's just see how some of these stack up.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
Number One, noisy eaters, people who have to crinkle every
last bit of their bag of chips, or scrape every
last bit off their yogurt out in the morning, or
slip their coffee in the morning.
Speaker 10 (14:55):
Oh so annoying fish.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Not great, but whatever, I'd rather have that.
Speaker 10 (15:00):
Then the fact that our people don't know how to
use a microwave. We have a ton of staff and
our microwave has come on fire twice, maybe three times,
and so we've been down to one microwave for months
until we get a new one. And it's like, how
do you not know how to use a microwave?
Speaker 11 (15:17):
My coworker had bought two bagels from Dunkin Donuts, had
one that morning for breakfast, put the other bagel back
in the bag and in the fridge. The next morning
she came in to have her bagel for breakfast, bagel missing,
empty bag left in the fridge.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
My name is to know.
Speaker 7 (15:32):
I'd have to say my biggest pet peeve is when
I started breaking in dental office a few years ago.
I was working with like fresh grads out of dental school,
and one of the doctors used to always drink all
my creamer. And I'm dairy preest, so I'm getting really
expensive stuff, Like I'm spending a lot of money because
I enjoy coffee every single morning And when I tell you,
half her cup was my creamer. And when I confronted her,
(15:53):
she said, well, I went to dental school. I don't
understand how that has anything to do with my coffee
creamer to this day.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Thank you for the talk back with Tip. That's where
I started. I mean, our phone lines are open as well.
You'll see the microphone in the top right hand corner
when you search kiss on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
A lot of that was food and frige related. I'll
tell you this.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I have not even looked in our office fridge in
the years. I think that place is probably a nightmare.
We'll put a pin in it for now, but you're
still more than welcome to contribute. We got to dive
into the three things you need to know to get
your day started in Sincy.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
When is the new wah Wah coming to the Tri State.
I'll get that for you next.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
When you need to know she's got you. It's three
things with tip on.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
When are you gonna be able to get a HOGI
give me a hot sec we'd just before eight o'clock
eight thirty your first chance of the day to win
let sing tailor tickets.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
She'll be at the Brady next Friday.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Wah Wah has announced its opening date Liberty Township for
April sixteenth. Wah Wah real big in the northeast, but
not as far up as New England goes. Jersey Philadelphia
big spots for wah Wah. In fact, my college roommate
we were randomly placed together my freshman year and we
(17:12):
became best friends. She's from Philly, and anytime that we
went home to her house, she'd be like, Oh, I
cannot wait to stop at a wah wah and get
a hogy. First of all, I was like, what the
hell is a hogy? Because in Boston we call them grinders.
Grind us. You want to get a grinder, get a
sub or a grinder. She called him a hogy. So
we went back to Philadelphia. I walked in there, I
(17:34):
was like, this feels like a glorified seven to eleven.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
And she was offended.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
You know, she loved the sandwiches, love the snacks. I'm
very curious. I will make a trip up there. April
sixteenth is when that opens, and I'm wondering what the
experience is like now that it's been a couple of
years since I've been removed. All right, Second, in three
things you need to know, let's talk Billy Eilish. You know,
I loved her album. I loved her when it came
(18:00):
to Cincy. This past November, she was sitting down with
the Hit Network and she did say that she's getting
back in the studio this year.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Here we go.
Speaker 12 (18:09):
Yeah, definitely getting back into the studio and doing stuff.
And also, you know, next twelve months, I mean I
wanna I definitely have more tour, lots of tour to do,
and probably more than I'm even scheduled for that's gonna come,
which I'm excited about.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
I love that she came to Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
You know, I always always promote artists that book tours here,
that we don't have to go to Lexington for or Columbus, etc.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
And I was talking to there's not a lot coming
to the Tri State this year so far.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Some artists have tours they just decided not to book here, Beyonce, Tate, McCrae,
Gracie Abrams. Maybe that'll change, but it would be nice
to see Billy back in Cincy and back in the studio,
all right. And then lastly, in three Things you Need
to Know, kind of a two part thing, I wanted
to touch base on. Governor Gavin Newsome released a podcast.
I don't know why the man's doing from doing a podcast,
but he did update us on the Menendez Brothers. Now
(19:02):
you remember me talking about this kind of leading into Christmas,
on how the DA was supposed to review the Menendez
brothers case after being in prison for three decades, they
were thinking about getting a release. Then with the election
they got a new DA and the new DA was like,
I don't know about that so it stalled it. Here's
Governor Gavin new question for the.
Speaker 8 (19:22):
Board is a rather simple one. Do Eric and Lyle Menendez?
Do they pose a current what we call unreasonable risk
to public safety. There's no guarantee of outcome here. My
office conducts dozens and dozens of these clemency reviews on
a consistent basis. But this process simply provides more transparency,
(19:44):
which I think is important in this case.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
I'll keep you posted.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
And then, lastly, just very quickly, the Jeffrey Epstein list
is supposed to come out and it's supposed to be
quite shocking as far as politicians, celebrities and who was
tied to Jeffrey Epstein. We could get that leader on
this morning or today when there's more on that. You know,
I'll have it for you, all right. That is three
things you need to know for the twenty seventh of February,
(20:07):
second to last day in February.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
I walked into my office without a jacket on today.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Wooo.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
I don't want to get my hopes up, but it
is nice to soak up the warm while we have
it coming up at eight thirty. Your chance to win,
Let's sing Taylor tickets. Type Kiss one oh seven one
into the search bar of the iHeartRadio app so you
don't miss it.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Good morning, because you're.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Waking up with Tiff in the morning on Kiss one
oh seven one.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
I need to ask Christina a question. Christina, if you're listening,
we just chit chatted about your scam. Call me back, okay, Christina,
call me back all right.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
In the meantime, Hi, you're on the air.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I'm hoping you have a keyword for me scam. Congratulations.
You got the keyword? Your collar ten?
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Why?
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yeah, You're going to see Let's Sing Taylor at the
Brady next Friday.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Aw thank you for waking up with tif in the
morning every day. My gal.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
All right, that's so awesome.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
What's your name? What neighborhood you waking up with men?
Speaker 4 (21:05):
My name's Toy. I'm calling from Coraine and Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
I have to go out to Coleraine today and get
my car service, so I'll be out there. Anything I
should do while I'm waiting around.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Probably visits a new uds on Blue Rock and get
some ice cream. You know what?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Sold done? Booked, ready to go.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
I wanted ice cream yesterday so bad, and I didn't
go and get any So thank you for reminding me.
Speaker 12 (21:30):
We were just.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
One, okay, and there's nothing better than a new gourmet
gas station. We were chit chatting about the wah wah
coming to town and our last three things.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Oh yeah, yep in Liberty on April sixteenth.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Cool.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Okay, Well, my father, it.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Is really nice chit chatting with you. We were talking
about scams too. You don't have any eat and fall
for any scams, did you? No, I don't wish it
upon anyone I.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Want, My son said, scam likely, I just don't answer.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Bye.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
All right, I have one more chance for you to
win these lets seeing Taylor tickets tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
It's our Friday show at eight thirty.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
If you want to set a reminder with Siri to
get up with Tiff in the morning, give me two songs.
We'll dive into the three things you need to know
to get your day started. And since it's been a
minute since I've hit a spring break, but Southern Florida
back at it again with its messaging, I'll have that
more next when you need.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
To know she's got you.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
It's three things with TIF on spring break updates. Give
me a secritus before nine o'clock. And it's gonna beautiful
here today. Temperatures once again for like the fourth day
in a row in the fifties. All right, this is
what maybe the third year in a row that Southern
Florida has been like. Listen, do not come to Florida
(22:46):
and act a fool. Spring break restrictions going into effects in.
Speaker 13 (22:50):
South Florida now, warning college students headed to the beaches
to be prepared for triple the amount of police than usual,
including officers on horseback some area. She is now set
to enforce curfews and road closures while banning alcohol and
coolers on the sand, as well as electric scooters, tents, tables,
and loud music.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Not happening in Southern Florida.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Speaking of police, have you noticed that there have been
a ton of cops on seventy one lately? It feels
like every time I'm driving I see them. Second, and
three things you need to know this morning. Unfortunately, if
you're a millennial, you will know who Michelle Trachenberg is
just from her face. She was in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer,
gossip Girl, Eurotrip, and several other roles tragically passed away
(23:34):
at the age of thirty nine yesterday, very very young,
and at first when the news broke on social you
couldn't open up your phone without seeing it.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
They didn't have a cause of death at that time.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
We know a little bit more now, speculation that it
could have been something to do with her liver. She
did have a recent liver transplant, and she was experiencing
some complications, you know. To give you a little bit
of a background and to paint the picture, she was
hanging out with her mom, said goodbye to her mom
and back to her New York City apartment. The next morning,
her mom found her there. And so I'm thinking of
(24:04):
her and her family. And then, lastly, in three things
you need to know, I wish I had a little
bit better news for you. Gene Hackman also passed away
at like three four o'clock this morning.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
That announcement was made.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
He was ninety five, nominated five times for an oscar
one two of them lived a full life. But what's
interesting about this passing is that both him, his wife,
who was in her sixties, and their dog all died
at home.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
No foul plays suspected.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Leads me to believe maybe like a carbon monoxide scenario,
which is just like, oh my god. Right when there's
more in that one, I'll have it for you. That
is three things you need to know for the twenty
seventh of February. Best way to keep listening to Tiff
in the Morning is by searching kiss one seven one
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
You're waking up fifth in the morning, Kiss one, I.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Was seven one.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Good morning, Welcome back to Tip's Community Corner, where I
introduced you to people, places, and things happening in our
Cincinnati neighborhoods. A friend of my show and of Tiff
in the Chef, Kayla Robinson, Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
She is a Food.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Network Chop champion at Guys Grocery Games champion. Of course,
I'm gonna have questions for you, and she usually comes
on to give us a little tidbits about the food scene,
an industry sacred day. This coming Monday, food Fight is happening.
Tell me a little bit about the event.
Speaker 14 (25:20):
So Food Fight is essentially Cincinnati's version of Chopped. Now,
this has been going on for thirteen years. This started
off as just like a bunch of industry chefs getting
together on a Monday night at Marabell's this restaurant at
Oakley and just kind of throwing down and then it
has grown into just a beautiful event that's here to
(25:42):
celebrate all the culinary talent we have in Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Which is a lot a ton, right in all different styles.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Right.
Speaker 14 (25:50):
You have your private chefs, you have your restaurant chefs,
you have your home cooks, you have students, culinary students.
I mean everyone is welcome essentially. Like I said, it's
a Chopped like competition, three rounds, three crazy mystery basket ingredients.
You know, Christian and I have been on Guys Grocery
(26:10):
Games and all the other competitions Chopped and everything like that.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
So we like to also throw in all the things
that they forstured us with the affair.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
So this event is happening at gather All this coming Monday,
where if you buy a ticket. Of course, like everything
in this world, the proceeds go back to a charity.
Ronald McDonald House has been on My show and it's
very cool if you don't know about Ronald McDonald house.
This you bring families and their children who need care,
usually at Cincinnati Children's and they can stay for free, okay,
(26:42):
and so if you buy a ticket to this, that's
what the money is going back to. But you get
to experience some kind of like television type of vibes
in our own city here at Gatherall.
Speaker 14 (26:53):
So what time does the event start? So it starts
doors open at six. We draw names to fight at seven.
So traditionally we have a pot lock. Everyone's welcome to
bring something to share. Restaurants show up with their items
to also share. But we also have all the vendors
at the gather All that are open, and if you
buy a qualifying raffle item from them, one of their
(27:15):
food items, it goes towards this incredible raffle giveaway, which
is like three thousand dollars worth of like cooked cook
not cooked kitchen goods. So we've got Maiden Mestermeiser chef Works,
I mean, you name it. This is. You're gonna leave
with quite a swag bag, not even a bag, like
a tote full of goods of good stuff.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Kayla, take me to the last time you were on television?
Which one was it? Guys, groceries are chopped? Well, I
have one airing soon.
Speaker 14 (27:46):
Drop you get the first, you get the first, you're
the first to know I have one airing.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
This was a guys one. Okay, yeah, you're an expert
at this.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
I can imagine myself being like under pressure in panic
in these situations. What's something like, what's a little like
a tidbit or little tip for someone who maybe ends
up on TV one day from right out of your mouth?
Speaker 3 (28:09):
You know, the biggest thing.
Speaker 14 (28:11):
Of any of these shows and competitions in general is
show up and truly be yourself.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Right, that's why you're there, and do what you know.
Speaker 14 (28:18):
That is not a time to just be creative, like, oh,
I've never made positive before, so I'm gonna make toss
to this round.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Don't do that.
Speaker 14 (28:24):
Stick with what you know and use the crazy ingredients
that you have, Yeah, and work it in with what
it is that you're doing that you've done maybe a
thousand times, but now you've got five off wild things
you can't even pronounce in your basket, and now you
need to integrate them in your dish.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Chopped is always on at the nail salon when I'm
getting my nails on it.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Every time I watch it, I think of you. I'm like,
I could not be in this situation. What's it like
to win. It's kind of like surreal.
Speaker 14 (28:54):
I can tell you the two times that I've won
from guys and shopped, it was like a wait a minute,
what I did? I I'm just really exhausted. I've been
riding around for sixteen hours. Like what, I have all
five or ten fingers?
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Like this is great? I didn't shot my fingers. Yeah yeah,
because you're moving quick. Oh.
Speaker 14 (29:13):
I mixed myself a few times, lost like four minutes
on a round where I only had twenty Yeah, and
somehow what.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Crawl? So Kayla used to be the head chef at
Arnold's no longer right Nope, okay, So if you are
not following her on social she lives in the city
sere bopping Arono tr Commander in Beef on Instagram. You
guys might be familiar to with Christian Gill because he
goes on John John Show.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
This event is called food Fight.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
It's kind of like its own version of Chopped and
maybe Master Chef A little bit happening at Gatherall on
Monday night this coming Monday, and the proceeds go back
to Ronald McDonald house. Kayla, You're my goal. Thanks for
stopping ins for having me remind me where you can
get the tickets event bright.
Speaker 14 (29:56):
Look at food fight five one three on event bright,
or we have a Fight five one three Facebook and
Instagram page or again find us on Instagram or uh
Facebook and the links all over.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Okay, thanks Mi Gal, thank you,
