Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up in the morning. Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
We're about halfway through our commercial free hour, and I've
got Christina Aguilera Genie a bottle on the way here.
But we're in the midst of talking about how much
it costs to go through a breakup. Now I'm talking
about emotional tax. I'm talking about the the your Apple pay,
how much money gets swiped with and let's say an
almost year long period after you break up with someone.
(00:29):
I came across this Pop Sugar article and I caught
my attention. I was like, well, I bet, I bet
our tiff community would really like this. I would say
it took me closer to two years to recover from
my breakup. So, and you guys know, if you've listened
to the show before, I was with the finance guy
for a long time.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
We were you know, eight or so years.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
We met in Boston, and then we were long distance
for a long time when I moved here, and then
our lives just went in separate directions, so you know,
it came to an end. So we're talking not like
we're not just talking about like bills and such when
you split up with someone. So that's like a different cost,
but the money that you spend on yourself to help
(01:10):
you recover from a breakup totaled almost fifteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Within a year. And I'm wondering if you've gone through.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
A breakup, if you're like, actually, yeah, here's some of
the cost per breakdown.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Depending this is a kind of more female focused.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
So guys, I'm curious to see what your thoughts are
on whether or not you spent money on some of
this stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
So beauty treatments.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Girls who typically would redo their hair or you know,
get botox or whatever four six hundred and twenty one dollars.
A new wardrobe five hundred bucks, which I could actually
see those being swapped. You would spend more money on
a wardrobe than maybe beauty treatments, depending on what you
wanted to do. Therapy was about thirteen hundred dollars. There's
(02:01):
a gym membership fifteen hundred dollars. Kind of depends though,
on what your style is.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
You know what you like.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
If you're a runner, then obviously that doesn't really cost
a lot of money, except for maybe signing up for
the Flying Pig or the Queen Bee or something.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
But if you're a studio workout person.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Then I could see that totally, and maybe you go
to more than one fitness class. You gotta get not
just the revenge body, but it also keeps your mind
focused on something else. There's two more travel. When you
break up with somebody, you have the urge and the
itch to travel to get out of here. I remember
going through this. Do you remember we spent a whole
week talking about whether or not I should spend one
(02:37):
thousand dollars to go to Las Vegas for twenty four hours.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Did I end up doing it?
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So I could see why it would cost almost seven
thousand dollars worth of travel in a year to get
over with somebody. Live music, slash entertainment somewhere around.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Five hundred bucks.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
So we're totaling around fourteen thousand, seven hundred and sixty
four dollars to recover from a breakup between an eighth
month and a twelve year, twelve month period.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Do you agree, yes or no?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I want to know before we get to three things
coming up around seven to fifty ish this morning, how
did you ever spend ridiculous money on a breakup with somebody?
Was there one item that you bought a trip that
you went on. You don't have to regret it or not.
I just want to know, did you spend ridiculous money
when you broke up with somebody or you were broken
up with five? Win, three seven, four, nine, one oh
(03:29):
seven one. By the way, speaking of money, I mean,
I don't have fourteen grand for you, but coming up
at nine oh five, I.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Do have your chance to win a thousand bucks. Wow,
that was high octane. That's a way to get up. Hi,
good morning.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
We're in the midst of talking about money that you've
spent on yourself during a breakup. I had read an
article that it costs fifteen thousand dollars in a like
an eight month to a year period with a breakup.
But the money you spend on yourself with clothes, therapy, trips, vacations, et.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Cetera, et cetera. Hi, good morning. No, what is something
that you spent money on? You're on the show.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I'm well, it's good to hear your voice. Thanks for calling.
Have you spent money on a breakup?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I did?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yes, okay, yes, yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
What do you have for me?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I spent about I would say, three grand on a
room makeover, like my bedroom. So I read everything.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
In my bedroom. That's a good call.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Like everything.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
You didn't have any regrets?
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Right? Oh no, no, it is my peace room. It's
what I call it now I go to to just
like be impressed from everything. So no, no regrets at all.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Oh good, Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I I didn't even think about a homemakeover right, because
especially if you live with that person and you know
you've been in the space together, you definitely need to
spend money to re eat vamp it up a little bit.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
That's a good one.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, yeah, because we created that together. And they're like,
you can't just paint me out of your life.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
And I said, oh why watch me?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Why?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
What? What's your name? What neighborhood are you waking up
with me in this morning?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
My name is Julienne and I'm from Cuffington.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Julianne, thank you so much for the call. I appreciate you.
I've never told anybody this before, like anybody.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
In twenty fourteen, during a depressive episode, I spent eighty
seven dollars on candy crush.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
All right, coming up next, we're going to dive in
three things you need to know to get your day
started to hear in Cincy let's talk about blink
