Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning, kiss let
us seven one.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Good morning, Good morning. I was thinking myself, what are
we going to talk about on this Monday? There's so
much what will we lead with? And I'm going to
table the Reds and the Super Bowl halftime show announcement
for three things you need to know at six fifty.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
We usually do that every day right on that time. Today,
I want to talk about food.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
We're kind of entering the season where you just slowed
down a little bit. We're like scratching the surface of
that season. The weather was so perfect, and I bet
there's a really good chance that you two were out
and about doing maybe some sort of fall activity since
the Bengals they don't play until tonight. But right around
(00:44):
that time, you know football's on. You start making some food,
you start sitting around, you start watching TV.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
You just kind of doing a little bit less.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
At some points during the weekend. And my genes are
getting a little tight.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Sheeds A get a little tighter.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
On that chicken or I should I just almost I
almost a chicken palm butt. I had this killer bulonisy
last night. Oh, with the bucatini pasta and the garlic
bread and the dessert didn't have any red wine. But
while I was as a man, if there is a
bottle here, I'd finished that too. It's just that season,
(01:24):
you know. The chili is going, the snacks and the
apps are going. We're moving around less, having less obstacles,
having more sugar and cinnamonum humming spice donuts. I hope
you had a great weekend. Of course it just went
by like that, a blink of an eye. But whether
it was beautiful Reds made into the playoffs, I'm gonna
have that and more. Coming up with three things you
(01:44):
need to know at six fifty. The best way to
keep listening to TIF in the morning is by searching
Kissuano sev one on the iHeartRadio app. Happy Monday, Glenn.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
You need to know she's got you. It's three things
with TIF on kiss when they can't kill us. Oh man,
congrats to the Reds. Give me a houtsicke.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
We're just before at seven o'clock on the twenty ninth
of September. As we creep towards October, baseball of the
Reds have clinched fifty seven degrees. Right now, temperatures are
going to be in the mid eighties today with sunshine
for at least the first part of the week. It
looks very beautiful in the ten day forecast. All Right,
(02:24):
you heard it last night, Maybe maybe you didn't. They
ended up taking the l to the Brewers, but the
Nets lost to giving us a final spot in the
wild card. Here's Tito with Jim Day after the game.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Oh you kidding me? Look at this room. I mean,
they deserve the blowing out and I know we got
some stuff ahead of us. But in the next hour.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
You said so many times, worry about today, worry about today?
How are you able to get this team to the
finish line?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
You know what their team and they act like a team.
They play like a team. We go through tough times
like a team. Now we're gonna party a little.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Bit like a team.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Good for them, you know, the goggles are out, the
champagne with spraying. Here's Ellie de la Cruz inside.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Let's go on with Ellie de la Cruz talking about
the Reds going.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Back to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
What does this moment mean to you as one of
the stars of this team.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
It means a lot to me.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
That's when we like, that's my three of us. A
little kid.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, you can hear that.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
The whole crowd is just going crazy. Here's Ellie da
La Cruz on Instagram live. Oh there's so much audio
to play every time I scroll on social media.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
This is a new exciting video. So congrats to them.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
We'll have more from Brent Suitor, who is a Cincinnati
and coming up in our next hour.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
So we move on to.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
The Dodgers and play our first of three games tomorrow
night over in LA. They have the third best record
in the National League. Okay, second and three things you
need to know this morning. A major announcement. Moving on
over to football. The Bengals play Monday night tonight. But
with that, Apple Music and jay Z made the announcement
(04:16):
that Bad Bunny will do the halftime show. And here's
a clip of probably my favorite Bad Bunny song. I'm
(04:47):
just I think it's gonna be a good time. You know,
Bad Bunny had a residency of Puerto Rico. People were
traveling in the masses to get there. I think that
there's a really good chance that there will be some
negative backlash on it.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
I think there always is.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
But if you found joy in and entertained, if you
were entertained by Kendrick Lamar last year, then I think
you'll be even more entertained by Bad Bunny, even if
you don't know the lyrics to the song. He went
on to say, what I'm feeling goes beyond myself. It's
for those who came before me and ran countless yards
so I could come in and score a touchdown. This
(05:25):
is for my people, my culture, and our history. Jay
z had said, what Benito has done and continues to
do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored
to have him on the world's biggest stage, the super
Bowl this year in Santa Clara, California. Bad Buddy, it's
got three Grammys and he's about to do a big residency.
I'm sorry, he's about to do SNL at the beginning
(05:48):
of next month. So there's lots of debrief on that one.
And lastly, in Three Things, I had mentioned it, but
Bengals getting ready to play Monday night football.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
We need a win.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
In the morning.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Kiss, good morning Monday. Well, did you open up your
phone yet? There's a lot of things that you might
have not scrolled past, or you feel a little overwhelmed.
Welcome to chit chat roulette where Sarah and I loaded
five minutes on the clock and we run through as
many topics as we can so that you're in the loop.
Yesterday was amazing with Wiler fast Line. We were just
(06:22):
two girlies and a convertible.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
What a great time, what a fulfilling experience. Thank you
so much to Kevin Frye for inviting us out to that.
Always appreciate being there.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And being at the Ronald McDonald houses. It's always very touching.
Speaker 8 (06:36):
Hoping to do some volunteer work with them very soon,
but I've heard the list is quite long to get in.
Everybody wants to help out and it is all for
an amazing cause. I have chills just thinking about yesterday's
experience altogether, so hopefully we can get back there soon.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
You know who is probably chilly last night, I'm not okay.
Congrats to the Cincinnati Reds and Sarah at least the
Red's biggest family.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Fat girl of the air on Tip in the morning.
You never gave up on him.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
You've always believed in them, knew this was gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
You took the words right out of my mouth. You
were so confident yesterday that we were making it in.
Speaker 8 (07:16):
Dude, yesterday, I just I felt really good about it.
The Reds had the upper hand going into it, and
I'm like, you know what, I'm not even not even
worried about this at all.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Okay, can okay, can you walk me through this when
they are freaking out in the locker.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Room right with the champagne. I mean, this is Alida
La Cruz on Live last night.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
They are so excited, but we didn't, like, we didn't win,
and we only made it in because the Mets lost.
You think like a champagne celebration with the goggles on.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
Yes, I think that'll be all very necessary because you
have to think one hundred and sixty one other games
led them to that moment.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Okay, And they did take two.
Speaker 8 (08:01):
Out of three from the Milwaukee Brewers, and they rarely
win series against this team. Okay, so that alone is
worth a champagne celebration. But either way, it doesn't matter
how they got him because they are in and next
up is La tomorrow night. Get your naps in because
first pitch is at nine o eight. We've got our
best guy out there, Hunter Green is going to get
(08:21):
it done. I think we've got Andrew Abbott on Wednesday,
so putting our two best pitchers out there first.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Okay, yesterday or late last night, I should say during
Sunday Night football. They announced that Bad Bunny is going
to be doing the Apple Music halftime show, and I
think it's an excellent fit.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
I agree to disagree.
Speaker 8 (08:42):
This does nothing for me.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
This is the year of the pop girlies.
Speaker 8 (08:46):
I really thought we were going to get a pop
girl and I was so excited for that.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
You know you're not wrong in that sense.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
This will be the third boy in a row or man,
I should say in a row. And I do feel
like maybe an Ari, a Miley, or even a Tailor
of course would have been a good fit. But out
of everyone that could been chosen, I do think Bad
Buddy is going to put on a hell of a show.
If you were entertained, not if you thought it was good,
but if you were entertained by Kendrick Lamar last year
(09:12):
and I was asleep during that halftime show, then you
will have fun with Bad Bunny.
Speaker 8 (09:17):
I never missed the halftime show ever. I loved Kendrick
last year. I don't think there's been a halftime performance
where I'm like eh, blen. I mean, I always find
some sort of entertainment value in it. Bad Bunny does
nothing for me. I had to google the songs also.
I didn't even.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Yeah, wow, we could not be more different on this.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
We couldn't you know what I got in my own hud.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
I'm like, popgirl, pop girl, Like that's what it's going
to be.
Speaker 8 (09:39):
And then when I saw the news during last night's game,
I was like, ehlah, we.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Could spend more time on this. We could. We have
to talk about Taylor at the wedding.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
Well.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Well, first of all, Selena Gomeza Mini Blanco tied the
knot over the weekend. When a bride and a groom
post on social media the night that they get married, what.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Does that give you? I think they're just excited to
share that with the world. Okay, maybe they.
Speaker 8 (10:00):
Had some sort of People magazine and People was probably like,
we need this by ten o'clock or you know something.
I'm just guessing, but I think that they were just
so excited to put that out there. Obviously, she looks stunning,
and he was there.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
He truly married a real life Disney princess.
Speaker 8 (10:17):
Oh she is perfect in every single way. I'm always
going to be a Selena stan I had thought of
that too.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I said, well, maybe they wanted to put the photos
out before anyone else did, or maybe they had to
deal with the magazine. But guest list had Taylor included.
I haven't seen any pictures of her or really anyone
else there.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
And Sharon I hear was there, Sizza was there? A
star studded lineup, the two stars.
Speaker 9 (10:42):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Speaking of Taylor, it's album week.
Speaker 8 (10:45):
Oh my, I am so annoying this week. First of all,
you've got the Reds in the postseason. I'm seeing Wicked
for the night Light thing in Newport on Thursday, and
then you've got Taylor coming out on Friday. The Bengals
are playing tonight, Like, what a time to be alive?
Speaker 3 (10:59):
What's this night light?
Speaker 7 (11:00):
Quick?
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Quick? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (11:00):
In Newport they're gonna be showing Wicked on the big
screen sitting outside.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Oh like a movie there, I got, yeah, yes, yes, yeah, sorry, Well.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah, we have Life of a Showgirl coming out. Kiss
one O seven one is doing something pretty much every
day here on TIF in the morning in honor of
Taylor Swift, starting off with getting you into the AMC
Theater Private screening for Kiss one oh seven one's Life
of a show Girl.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
If you would like.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
To go to AMC Theaters this Saturday in Newport to
see the album on screen, and there'll be a music
video there that she's premiering. They also play the music
on their Dolby sound systems that are really loud, So
if you want to go and be a part of
that experience, it's private, it's exclusive for Kiss. I'm gonna
get you in right now. Coller ten five one three

Speaker 3 (11:51):

Speaker 1 (11:53):

one oh seven to one.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Good morning. Congratulations you are calling number ten. My daughter
will be so ecstatic.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
This is awesome.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yeah, you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I'm sending you to AMC on Saturday for our private
screening of Life of a Show Girl.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Are you big Taylor fans?
Speaker 6 (12:11):
We are Taylor fans? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Okay, what's your name? What neighborhod you waking up with
me in this morning? I am dal Hi.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
How to distribute the work?
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Okay, and my name is jeckper Well.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Jennifer, thank you so much for listening to Tiff in
the Morning.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
If you were able to say anything to the Reds
or Ellie d La Cruz right now, what would you
say to them?
Speaker 6 (12:32):
Run Ellie Run.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I'm sure we're soaking it all up this morning in
Cincinnati while we can enjoying every bit of it.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
When are we playing?
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I'll have that and more coming up in Three Things
you need to know to get your day started in
sincey right around seven fifty this morning, if you took
an L on these Taylor AMC passes, I'm giving out
four packs all week on Tiff.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
In the Morning. If you want to get up with
us seven thirty on the free iHeartRadio.
Speaker 8 (12:59):
App Glynn, you need to know she's got you.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
It's three things with.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Tip on a real life Disney princess got married over
the weekend. To give me a hot sec word just
before seven o'clock around on the twenty ninth of September,
coming up at eight thirty, I have your chance to
get into Renee Wrap. She's going and she's gonna be
at in Columbus. If you want to go on a
little journey, I'll get you into that show later on
(13:27):
right now, temperatures are in the mid fifties. We'll see
highs in the eighties with sunshine. Was yesterday not one
of the best days of the year, Oh my god?
And that's pretty much gonna be a rinso rapido for
the next couple Okay, before we get to the Disney Princess,
let's start off with our own Cinderella story. Congratulations to
the Reds for making it in to the post game.
(13:50):
They ended up taking d L against the Brewers yesterday, however,
the Mets lost, which gave us the last seat in
the wildcard race. And this is they found this Jim
day like live on television, figuring it out against the Marlins.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
As we wait to see what happens, I just heard
in my ear it's over. It's a double play. The
Reds are in the playoffs. Brian, there you go, there
you go.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
Yes, indeed, we first love live television and there you
go live TV at its best.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
And so for the first time since.
Speaker 7 (14:18):
Twenty twenty and the first full season in a dozen years,
your Cincinnati Reds are back in the postseason. That should
kick off the celebration inside the Reds Clubhouse, where just
a moment ago, I saw them wheel in the champagne bottles, Jim,
and I think those are about to pop.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yeah, here's how it ended down in Miami.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
And if you want to hear the final call from
I think this is television. I don't know if I've
heard baseball broadcasters so excited to announce that a team
was losing round ball to.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
Second to second for one whole game over season over
the Fillings ended of the series victory in a shutout
over their division rival New York means to knock him
out of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
I mean, the man was hype.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
I cannot confirm this, but I heard that the stadium
was playing the WKRP theme as they were getting ready
to lose. I cannot confirm that, but if that is
the case, ooh.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
What else do you want to hear from Elli dal
La Cruz? Here you go.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
It means a lot to me.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
That's what we like.
Speaker 9 (15:29):
That's my three.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
That's a little kid.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah, I mean everyone's excited. The goggles are on the
champagne spring. Let me play one more clip from Brent Soonter,
because he's a Cincinnatian.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
I believeing in each other. That's always said. We said
one game.
Speaker 7 (15:42):
At a time.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Send it from our manager Tato.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
He said, Hey, that hurts.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Run the next one, run the next one.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
I's a great all right, So we're gonna basket it
for the moment. They play the Dodgers tomorrow night in
a three game series, and I believe Hunter Green is
gonna lead us off in the pitching, or at least
that's what I'm hearing. Second in three things you need
to know this morning, and we'll continue in the sports world. Yesterday,
during Sunday Night football, Apple Music, Jay Z and the
(16:09):
NFL announced that this year's Super Bowl halftime performer will be.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Bad Bunny.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
And if you thought maybe it would have been a
Pop queen or a Pop princess, I too. And there
I've been biting my tongue because the last couple of
days there have been Adele rumors, there have been Taylor
Swift rumors, and it was confirmed on social media as
well that Bad Bunny is going to take over.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Now, lots of things to talk about here with this one.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
He's got three Grammys, he's had multiple sold out shows
in Puerto Rico, hasn't performed in the US since his
last tour.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
He's got collaborations with Drake and Moore.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
He went on to say, what I'm feeling goes beyond myself.
It's for those who came before me and ran countless
yards so I could come in and score a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
This is for my people, my culture, and our history.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Jay z had said, what Benito has done and continues
to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring, and we
are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
With that, let's play some Bad Bunny music.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
No, yeah, it's my favorite.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Oh I just I love that song, you know.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
And I think there are always gonna be mixed reviews
on who the halftime performer is whether And by the way,
none of this, most likely none of this will be
in English, which I think is a bold move. But
if you were entertained by Kendrick Lamar in any way
last year, then you're at least going to be entertained
by Bad Bunny. And this is his famous collab with Drake.
(17:56):
This is called Mia.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
After my mother.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yes, all right, I believe the date is February eighth.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Let's maybe hope that the Bengals will be there too.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
They kick off their Monday Night football against the Broncos
in the eight o'clock hour. Okay, lastly, in three Things
you need to Know, speaking of Adele and Taylor, both
spotted at Selena Gomez's wedding to Bad Bunny. Happened this
Saturday in California. The from what I'm hearing, the ceremony
moved guests to tears. They wrote their own vows. They
(18:31):
danced until the wee hours of the morning. He had
posted on social media, I married a real life Disney princess.
With a few carousel photos.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
She looked stunning in a lace gown, high neck, low back. Ah,
I love it.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
We'll see hopefully some more pictures from that in the
coming days. That is three things you need to know
for the twenty ninth of September. Coming up at eight thirty,
your chance to win tickets to Renee Rap. Good morning,
You're waking up with Tiff in the morning on a
kiss one oh seven to one commercial soul Free on
a beautiful Monday, where the Reds have officially made it
into the playoffs and Cincinnatians are just gonna hold on
(19:08):
to it for as long as we can and bask
in the enjoyment of that.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Shout out to Steve Potter.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
My dad is celebrating his birthday today all the way
up in Massachusetts, and I appreciate him always listening to
Tiff in the morning on the iHeartRadio app. You two
can do the same as you walk in for the hour.
I have your chance to win renee Wrap tickets coming
up around eight thirty ish this morning, and you won't
even need a keyword. I'm trying to make it as
easy on you as possible on a Monday. And while
(19:36):
you're there, you two can check in with me on
the iHeart Radio app. Maybe you want to give the
Reds a little shout out, Maybe you want to give
a little shout out to the Bengals. Whatever you want,
you can hit that red microphone.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Good morning, Tiff, This is Dorothea from BCRTA. I just
wanted to let you know I did go to arms
Fruit for this weekend. Sorry, didn't know how to get
a hold of you, so you can go with us.
But we didn't really do anything. We mainly went up
there to get our apple cider, apple cider, doughnuts and
(20:09):
fritters and we just left after that.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
So I hope you have a great morning. Hope you
had a great weekend.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Well, Darth, Dorothea, I've had a better morning now that
I've heard from you. I love when you leave me
talkbacks with Tip. Like I said, the microphone is in
the top right hand corner. When you lock into kiss
one of seven one, you become a part of our
community on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I am.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I'm not nosy in a negative way, but I do
love a full debris from someone. And Dorothea really just
gave the rundown on her weekend.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I think it was Iron something farms.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
We were chit chat in on Friday about various fall
activities to get into with the weather being so great
and the Bengals being off on Sunday, I knew it
you were going to rip your husband away from the
TV and make that man pick an apple, put an
appleside or donut in his mouth.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
And I hope you had a good time. I hope
you did too.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Okay, three minutes from now, Speaking of the Bengals, Marissa
Contipelli is our team reporter and producer and all all
things Bengals, and she's going to join the show three
minutes from now to give us the one thing to
look out for in tonight's Monday game, and she'll give
us a little update on Joe Burrow's status.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
So don't go far. Good morning. You're waking up fifth
in the morning, kis let us seven one while we
bask in the Reds.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Making it into the post game, I almost forgot that
we have a Bengals game tonight. Typically I call this
stripe hype Fridays, but since you're playing Monday Night, I
should shift the name. Marissa Contipelli is a team reporter
for the Bengals.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Gal.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Are we getting ready for Denver tonight?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Yes? Well, I mean it's obviously a big one Monday night,
not only the team looking to get back on track,
but the fact that you have another highly caliber AFC team,
which the Broncos are very desperate for when they're coming
off back to back losses in one of the one
of the more like heartbreaking ways to lose when it's
a time expiring field goal. This happened in each of
(22:03):
their back to back losses, and I have a very
upscear stat for you that I have not been able
to stop thinking about since I came across that earlier
this week. When it comes to Denver. They have not
trailed in the fourth quarter in any of their games
so far this season, but they are the only team
in since two thousands to have started the season one
(22:25):
and two. That is just mind boggling to me that
something like that had actually happened in the stat world.
So I love finding those weird little numbers. I think
this is going to be a big game on Monday
for the defense. The defense has played has held their
own through the first couple of weeks, and I think
this is going to be another game where they're going
to be relied upon, especially when we look at our
(22:46):
front getting pressure on Bononix and really limiting what this
run game is able to do for Denver because JK.
Dobbins has a touchdown in each of the first three
games and it's kind of off to somewhat of this
historic starts as a Denver Bronco.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Well, Marissa is like our colming presence on the show
this morning as we get ready stripehype Fridays for the
game tonight, and usually this segment airs on Friday, but
it's airing on a Monday.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Obviously because of the game.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
What would you say to Bengals fans who are a
little on the panicky side because you're my calm Bengal friend.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
So I'm going to tell them it's one game. I know,
the Minnesota game. It was not what we were all
hoping to see. But you listen to what Zach Taylor
has said throughout the week, You listen to what some
of the players have been, you know, voicing, they know
that they didn't play it the way that they expect
to be put to play. It was one game this season.
It's a long season, so I think everyone just kind
(23:42):
of needs to take take a deep breast, take a
step back, and be like, you know what we're this
is going to be okay, There's gonna be adversity, there's
going to be turbulence over the course of eighteen weeks,
and it was just one blip on the radar, you know.
I think Monday is going to be really telling to
see how veterans and the leaders of this group really
unite this locker room and make sure that they're you know,
(24:05):
playing at a caliber that they expect to be playing
and hopefully leave Monday night three and one.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Okay, And did you get any word from Joe is
the man alive? And well and doing okay as far
as I know.
Speaker 6 (24:16):
He yes, he is doing okay, and everything went well
on the surgery front.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
All right, Well, thank you. Marisa Conzapelli.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
She's a team reporter for the Bengals, usually comes on
for straight hype of front Is.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
But we've got the game tonight. You're waking up with
fifth in the morning.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
So scrolling through some archives, you're walking into mental Health Monday.
And thank God because I have secondhand embarrassment from some
of these photos and captions in Facebook memories from years past.
Lori Sharppage is our licensed clinical counselor. She joins us
on Mondays from Mental Health Mondays. Just quick tips, something
easy to maybe put in your pocket for the rest
(24:57):
of the week. Adults still experience. Embarrassment is not a
kid thing, Oh yeah. Absolutely embarrassment is huge. Oh my god,
those feelings of wanting to crawl inside your own skin
or hide under your desk. Yeah, I almost wish I
was a kid sometimes so I didn't have that feeling
and I had that naivity.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
You know.
Speaker 9 (25:17):
Absolutely, embarrassment is actually a huge driver and people will
will do things to make sure that they don't get embarrassed.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Right, they will avoid that emotion so much.
Speaker 9 (25:27):
And the reason why is because embarrassment ultimately tells us that,
like it tells our brain that we're not safe.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
This is one of those moments that what that is, Yeah,
that was our brain.
Speaker 9 (25:34):
We're saying that, like, there's there's a threat here, and
we are we are social beings. We need to be
mindful of how the group interprets us so that we
can survive and all these wonderful kind of evolutionary things.
But the truth is is that the brain will tell
you that embarrassment is going to harm you, and embarrassments
are super can be super uncomfortable, but it's not going
(25:56):
to harm you.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Right, So there, I can't die from cringiness. I would, Yeah,
I think I can.
Speaker 9 (26:04):
Yeah, well, I understand that because as soon as you
said that, like I felt it, you.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Know, I had a memory.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
Embarrassment is hard to cope with because again, it's telling
you that there's something kind of like unsafe. It's a
disregulating emotion. It makes you feel like you need to
run and hide or maybe people please your way out
of the situation. When the truth is you just got
to accept it and say I'm embarrassed. This is embarrassing,
And I honestly think secondhand embarrassment is harder than first
(26:32):
hand embarrassment.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Oh my god. That is my true opinion.
Speaker 9 (26:35):
And I not everybody experiences it that way, but like
second hand embarrassment for me makes me want to throw it.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Oh when I scroll?
Speaker 6 (26:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Okay, So what do you have for a tip if
I'm sitting in an embarrassing moment?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Absolutely so.
Speaker 9 (26:46):
A great thing anytime you experience something disregulating is just
to tap your two hands back and forth on your
legs or anywhere else on your body, or tap your feet,
and that helps your brain get into a more solid,
regulated state where you can understand that the embarrassment is
just a transient feeling. It will not kill you, It
will not make you throw up like I'm worried about.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
But it will pass.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
But there's always, like I think about the embarrassment later,
so there's the aftermath of the embarrassment.
Speaker 9 (27:15):
Absolutely so, bonus tip on this one. Okay, why do
you continue to feed it?
Speaker 7 (27:19):
So?
Speaker 3 (27:20):
This is the thing.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
If there's a feeling, a transient feeling that has passed
and it pops back up for you, that is your
opportunity to redirect yourself away from it. It's still going
to feel uncomfortable, but the more you stick with it
and process it and kind of chew on it, the
more you're feeding it, the more it's going to grow.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Laurie Sharpages are Coping Queen. That's actually where you can
find her on social media and book her for speaking gigs,
et cetera. We're so lucky to have you on the show.
