Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up in the morning.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Kiss, good morning, Good morning, Welcome back to Tip's Community Corner,
where I introduce you to the people, the places, and
the things that make up Cincinnati, and I have a
chance for you to win a free car.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Now.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
You might need this free car, or better yet, you
might be thinking to someone in your life right now
that could use a break. They might be going through
it and they come to you and they tell you
stories and they're like, I just don't not I don't
know what I'm gonna do. I need to either fix
my car. My car is broken, or maybe it's total.
But they've got kids, and I mean, any scenario works.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Here.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Let me introduce you to Dane Donovan and Donovans. I'm
such a big fan of Donovans. I've gone there at
one million times. They're giving away a free car. Good morning, Dane,
good morning, how are you? Thanks for having me. I
am good and I'm happy to have you. Like I said,
I'm such a big fan and we can. I'll explain
why in a minute here, but talk to me a
little bit about this Donovan's Cares Car initiative.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yes, so this is the first year we're doing it.
And we wanted to We wanted to give back to
the community. You know, my grandfather started Donovan's back in
nineteen fifty eight. We've been around, we have you know,
multiple locations in the Cincinnati Tri state area, and but
you know, we wanted to we wanted to give back.
(01:18):
A lot of times, you and I talked. A lot
of these cars have the opportunity to have a second
life and get back out on the road. You know, sometimes,
you know, the owner of the vehicle just doesn't want
to put any any more money into it, you know,
per our conversation earlier, you know, sometimes you just get
to a breaking point where I just don't want to
put any more money into it. And we send a
lot of vehicles out that to the Junkyard they could
(01:41):
again get a second life and get back out on
the road and give somebody the opportunity to get to
work or home or pick the kids up from school.
So this was the first year that we took on
this initiative that we were going to find a great, reliable,
reputable car, which this year it's a twenty thirteen Subaru.
Oh Night. And so Subaru is a great brand, and
(02:04):
you know, we're not paid or on door spying. But
we just we we thought it would be a great
car for a for a family, sure, and uh so
we what we're doing is again we were putting all
the work into it, whether it needs tires, brakes. In
this case, it needed an engine. So we've replaced the engine.
Uh we will make sure that every inch of that
car has gone through. We're not just gonna put an
(02:27):
engine in it and just turn around, you know, right.
We don't want to do that to anybody. We don't
want to give somebody a car that this is going
to have problems, you know, so we want to make
sure that everything is tip top, that it is running
at it's it's it's prime, so that that that family
member or teacher or nurse or whoever's maybe down on
their lock or just sure you know, their maybe their
(02:48):
car did break down and they can't afford to fix it.
So this is a great opportunity for you to nominate
the person in need of this vehicle and and hopefully
able to get them back out on the road so
they can get to.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Work or have a break right. Cut them some slack, Dane.
Why did you guys start Dunnovin's cares was there. Did
something come up like what was the why on fixing
a car and giving it to for free to a Cincinnatian.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
It was always It's always something that we talked about
and we just we just again we talked about it,
but we just never took the steps to do it. Okay,
And we have a marketing team that we work with.
Uh they're a phenomenal group and they basically just kind.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Of found a gap.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
There's a hole. There's a gap, yea, And they kind
of held us our feet to the fire and said, hey,
we really think you need to do this. So they've
put it together, but they just said, hey, you're gonna
we're gonna do this and we're gonna we're going to
give back and uh, let's do it. You know. Yeah,
we do advertising whatnot, and there's there are times where
we've helped the customer out that maybe uh uh you know,
(03:54):
maybe can't afford a car repair them. You know, well,
we'll do the best that we can to help them out.
But this is an initiative that is giving somebody the opportunity.
I mean again, it's it could be something where you
know they're they're gonna lose their job and they're not.
They don't know how they're gonna be able to get
groceries or so and we live in a city where
you need a vehicle. Yes, we have great public transit, sure,
(04:17):
but you need a vehicle if you've got kids, you've
got to get to work.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
We've all seen those stories about the so and so
who walks ten miles a day to get to where
they're going. If that someone is in your life, donovanscars
dot Com, you have twenty four hours to nominate someone
in your inner circle, maybe someone that you've met at random,
someone that needs a break and needs a free car.
Why not nominate them today? Right?
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Correct?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Absolutely, Dunovan'scars dot Com. I'm such a big fan. The
amount of times that I have walked from this studio
to the Donovan's Blue Ash location when I had to
bust it up subrou mine was not at twenty thirteen,
it was a two thousand and four. I have gotten
that thing fixed a million times. You guys have great
customer service. I'm literally just a girl. So I we
had a million questions about my car, and I never
(05:03):
I always felt safe, I always felt I always felt
well taken care of. And that I was getting the
right service. So outside of Donovan's Cares, I'm such a
big fan of your business.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
And well, we really really, you know, we really do
appreciate it, and uh, you know, we do take pride
in what we do. When your name's on the on
the sign that you really have to make sure that
you're taking care of the customers because ultimately, that's what
brings that's what brings everybody back. Making sure you treat
everybody with respect and you do the absolute best that
you can to help that because you know, it's kind
(05:34):
of like going to the dentist, right you don't really
want to be there. You don't really want to spend
the money.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
You gotta go. You've got the insurance, you gotta go. Uh,
Dave Well, shout out to Chris by the way, who
works at the front desk at the Blue Ash location.
He's always been super helpful. Donovan's does have a Facebook
page if you want to check him out again. You
have twenty four hours to nominate a Cincinnatian or a
tri Stater for a free vehicle if they're a need
at Donovan's Cares dot.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Thank you, Dane, thank you very much. I appreciate you
having me
