Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up with Fifth in the Morning. Good morning,
and welcome back to Tip's Community Corner.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's where I introduce you to the people, to places,
and the unique things that make up our Cincinnati neighborhoods
Keisha Saunders Waldron, welcome back to the show.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Thank you for having me.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I mean you're a Tiff in the Morning resident at
this point. Welcome back.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Absolutely, I always love being here.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
She's the CEO and founder of Confidential Confessions and the
Mental Health sneaker Ball, which is happening in Liberty two
days from now this Saturday, Westchester, Liberty Mason, the entire
collector of the entire community coming together one to celebrate
Liberty's tenure anniversary, right, and then the sneaker Ball that's

(00:44):
happening on Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Tell me a little bit about the event.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I mean, every woman knows a nice pair of sneakers
and address is the way to go these days.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Absolutely, Still, the event really is giving voice to the voiceless.
We know that suicide is the second leading cause from
ten to fourteen year olds, and I think the twenty
to thirty four and so what we're doing at this
event is lacing up our sneakers saying that we as

(01:16):
the community collectively are ending the stigma of mental health
and suicide and saying that you can feel safe, soft
and scene with us at this event.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Keisha, I really like that safe soft and scene. That
is very beautiful. You've said some.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Really powerful things too, like giving a voice to the
voice list.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I really like that. I didn't realize that.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I mean, of course, mental health is a thread that
runs amongst everyone's inner circle, right, but the suicide rates
here in Ohio and Cincinnati talk about that a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, So here in Ohio and some of just the
demographics that we looked at is was the age was
forty five to fifty four had the highest rate of
suicide death and then the largest decrease in souricide rates
among the youth age ten to twenty four, and the
largest increase was among the age of fifty five and
sixty four.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Just here in Ohio.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
And as long as you have life happening to you,
mental health happens. Mental health is a priority. It's not
a stigma. So we want to be able to say, hey,
we as the community see you. We as the community
need to get connected. We thrive as people off of connection,
and we're really hoping for that connection to reduce those

(02:38):
thoughts of isolation and filling alone.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Scene soft and safe for this weekend at the Sneaker
Ball two days from now, this Saturday. If you're looking
to help, looking for an event, looking for something to do,
looking for a cause to donate to, where did they go?

World Confidential Confessions Counseling Better World, or go to our
Facebook page Confidential Confessions Counseling and you can buy tickets,
donate whatever you can do to help. Because your voice matters.

you're gonna get your ticket. I have to ask what

(03:14):
