Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
I am a poet, one that just happens to write
in a forest. My forest is the Rainbow Forest right
here in South Charlotte, North Carolina. When I enter this forest,
or any other collection of trees, I never know what

(00:22):
I'm going to write about, because these aren't my words.
These are the lyrics from Rainbow Forest, chapter number three
hundred ninety two, October fourteenth, twenty twenty three. Somewhere in
this book are written thoughts about experiencing an eclipse in
the Carolinas, one of the chances that we would experience
not one more but two today at eleven fifty am

(00:45):
and another in March of twenty twenty four, which will
be the last in the area until two thousand and
eighty four. We presently have rain. The sky is full
of gray at nine to twelve am. I'm pretty sure
what we'll get from the eclips Lips is weather affected,
like walking into a shaded area. Scientists say an eclipse
does increase wind as it cools temperatures down. Overlooking this

(01:09):
for several minutes before the event, the low light outdoors
gives off the memory of the last time I felt
an eclipse. The animals change on days like this. There's
less birds in flight, and rarely do I see squirrels
scampering around the forest floor. Even my birds inside this
home are amazingly quiet. If only the effect would reach

(01:30):
into the hearts of the human being, we are in
need of peace right now on this planet two major
wars Israel and Ukraine. The eclipse will serve as our escape.
We fell witness to both of these eclipses, and the
thing about them is is that how people did come
together as I was hoping for on this page in

(01:51):
our neighborhood, a family with two children, a man and
woman who just moved into the neighborhood. In my house,
it was my wife and I and with friend and Lisa,
they joined as well. Our community came together to fall
witness to both of these eclipses, and what we got
from it was a moment that we've sat around many, many,
many times over the past couple of years, and we

(02:12):
just remember, and we remember it for its happiest times.
So in reality, the eclipse did bring the peace during
this time of double war. I'm Erril. These aren't my words,
these are the lyrics from Rainbow Forest
