Speaker 3 (03:43):
On the Indians in a matter of moments.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I'm Billy Schmid alongside big time Mike McGivern the high
school basketball game of the Week presented by your local
Pick and Save and Metro Market Stores. The Indians come
in off of losing three in a row, had a
heartbreaker against Sussex Hamilton of seventy two to seventy one
l and on Valentine's Day had their hearts broken by
the Warhawks of Arrowhead High School seventy one fifty nine.

(04:06):
Ketl Moraine, as I mentioned, locked up the Classic Eight
with a victory earlier this week. That one was against
mcgwonago in a resounding seventy four to forty six w
for the Lancers. Welcome to Mike McGivern here high above
the court as we get ready for tonight's game. Mike
Senior Night going on currently these two teams. Senior Night's

(04:27):
always an interesting one because you do it before the
regular season ends. Both of these two teams hoping that
the sectionals that we read off in the previous segment
can be fruitful for them as they continue on here
going forward.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah, one hundred percent. And look, let me tell you
why we're down in Waterford.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
So number of.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Weeks ago, I had a head coach and a number
of his players in studio, and I was so impressed
with these young men. I just was these kids have
played basketball together for a long time, feeling really good
about this team. And you can tell when you get
four or five kids in the studios small as nine
twenty if these guys can truly get along, you know,
you know that after spending an hour with them, and

(05:07):
what happens on that show. I'll give you a little
inside baseball. Had the coach out of the first segment,
had the players the second segment, it depends if they're
giving me much or not. I'll either go back to
the coach or I'll keep him in the corner. Sure,
I kept him in the corner. And these kids from
Waterford were incredible, and one of their seniors was there
picking save student.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
After the week.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Jamison was like, must have asked me four times, can
you come down and watch his put Can you come
down and watch.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
His plut man. You gotta get down watch his play.
We're not bad for a Southern Lakes team. I love it.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
We're not bad. And that said Jamison. I'll do what
I can't. I'll do my best if I can get
the guys. You to drive to Waterford and Hunter come
down and do a site and sound check. Let's find one.
And this is one that this is one that was open.
And I sent him a text today he said, hey,
I'll be down there.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
We did call it the game.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
He goes, oh, try, we heard about that three days ago.
As soon as I got here, Jamison came up, gave
me a hug his grandfather. That's the reason it took
me forever to go get the starters, because his grandfather's
down there.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Saying, hey, do you need me on the air? I go, no,
you leave me alone. We lost other heads.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Sorry about that, I got. I got my grand said Beckett.
He's got to be there more than you. But I'll
tell you what. I haven't done a Southern Lakes game
in a bit. And just these guys and the way
they they they they enjoyed hanging out. And their coach said, look,
we got a shot like we got a chance. The
other reason I wanted this game is I love when

(06:37):
teams down the stretch tried to set up a tough
game before they get to the absolutely and the and
the regionals. And I can tell you that this coach
had at Waterfordy. He cut his chops and he was
a girl's assistant coach at ok Creek. And he said, look,
a lot of stuff that I won is stuff that
I learned with with the coach over there. Oh my goodness,

(07:01):
I've drawn a blake. I've known Steve a long time.
Lucknick coach Lucknick over at Old Creek and he said,
so you'll see some similarities to the stuff that we're
doing here.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
We like to get the ball down on the floor
a little bit.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
We got some kids that could shoot it. We defend.
And he said, look, I think you'll enjoy watching this play.
And I said, that's great.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I went over.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
I introduced myself to the coach from mcguanago and he goes, dude,
I know who you are.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
And I go, that's great.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
He goes, yeh, Billy Schmid up there I go it is.
He goes, tell Billy. I listened to him all the time.
Thank you that's a dangerous deal.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, it is. I thought you was gonna see hest
me fifty bucks. I was gonna have to pay it
for you, but had no chance there so then my
name would have been Arman. Sorry. And like you get
into these moments, and Mike, I love what you mentioned.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
About this being a non conference game, a big competitive
non conference game, right, because these are teams you're gonna
play generally uncommon opponents. We list off all of the
sectionals and who you see, you're gonna see uncommon opponents
once you get into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
However, you know a little bit about him.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
A good opportunity for a team that's in Division two
playing for a game in a week and a half
that's gonna decide the Southern Lakes Conference with Westosia Central
most likely. However, you get yourself a good test right now,
and it's a measuring stick. As you know. D two
players won't say D one is any different. However, today
I can imagine that they're pretty juiced up for Yeah,

(08:19):
and that's you know what.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
And I tell people, look, they only get to play five, right,
so let's go ahead.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
I don't worry about what division they.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Are what's impressive to me similar to last year a
billy when we did the Marquette arrowhead game. Oh and
I talked to the coach of Marquette and I said,
this is your third back to back and he goes, look,
I did that on purpose because we got to get
ready for the playoffs. Well, guess what, Waterford's got a
big game against Judie Grove. Now Union Groves only got
three wins of the conference, but they only beat him

(08:46):
by six last time. So this part of it is
is it's it's a mindset, right. We got a game
to night, a tough game against non conference and now
we've got Union Grove that we got to play tomorrow night.
We got to get that win to be able to
stay in contention for this conference.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
It's pretty impressive when you just look at the season
in totality for Waterford. The Wolverines have won ten of
their eleven games in twenty twenty five. However, that's not
to slight the way that they closed in twenty twenty four,
because they've only lost one game since December fifth, that

(09:25):
was a loss at Racine Park. Then they got wins
against Whittnell, Wilmot, Badger, Beloit Memorial, Wakashaw, South, Kenosha, Bradford
to close out the year, one of those at Carthage
College in the Holiday Classic.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
I just I see it's.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
You see a team that's continuing to get better, and Mike,
when you're able to build like that, you start two
and two, you're wondering where you're gonna go, and then
all of a sudden you blink and you've lost one
game in twenty something.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah, and that one that was Stow's potential.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
When I was talking to Jamison before, you know, all
of a sudden, I put my co just had and
I said, hey, listen, you can't talk to me about
with Stills's central yet. Get mcgwanag go get Union Grove
And he kind of looked. I said, look, I've done
my research. You didn't beat Union Grove by thirty like
you thought.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Right. He goes, no, I got it. I got it.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I said, don't look ahead, just play. Let your coach
work ahead. Don't look ahead, go get the Broncos, cause
you're gonna come here thinking we're getting one.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
We almost got him last time, yep. And he said, no,
I got it. That's a great opportunity to play spoiler.
If you're a team that you know, like you said
three and nine, right, well, you're gonna come in here
knowing they're playing them back to back and you can
spoil the party for Oh.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
And if I'm the coach, you grow up saying, look, guys,
our regional starts here. This is when we get prepared
for this run that I think we can go on.
But if we if we can go ahead and beat
a team like Waterford and then get ready for the
regionals and you get ready for sectionals and all that.
So I you know, I don't want Look when you're
seventeen years old, you're looking at all this stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Now you are oh.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, how many am I out of your hands? Out
of your fingers?

Speaker 3 (11:01):
There?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
How many average? And all of that. And I think
it's important that he understands that this game, look, it's
a good NOD Conference test for you. Bigger game is
tomorrow night against you and your grow even though they
have three wins. Bigger game is then to set yourself
up to get the mosto's central game.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Now, this might be a bigger game for some Bonda
or Ben the Moner boy.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Here.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Beckett told me that he had fifty bucks sitting on
the game here tonight, But he didn't tell me what side. No,
you don't want to have you want to be as
unbiased as possible.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yes, yeah, yeah, that's what we are.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
But however, look, I even though the head coach from
you from mcgwanago is a big Billy Schmidt fan and
we're not supposed to be having it, I don't have
a dog in this flah. Kind of like these boys
from Waterford. I just kind of like them. I don't
know any of the boys from Mguanago you coached against them?

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Well, yeah, I mean the listen, I have not maybe
pulled any punches here early on in the pregame of
letting you know that the Indians might not be our favor.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
School the Arrowhead area.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
However, this is gonna be a fun game, yes, and
I'm excited for it. Our vantage point is fantastic. We're
about ten minutes away from tip off. We're gonna take
quick time out bring you our starting lineups on the
other side, along with more will always. As as always,
we'll name our player of the game here tonight, brought
to you by the US Marine Corps. A few the
proud the Marines, and here from our marine friends coming.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Up as well. High above the court here at Waterford
Union High School.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Above the band, they're letting it rip. We're gonna have
some fun with you here tonight. It's the high school
Basketball Game of the Week, presented by your local Pick
and Save and Metro Market Stores.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
I'm Fox Sports nine twenty and your iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Welcome back to Waterford High School as Mike McGivern, myself,
Billy Schmid bring you the high school basketball Game of
the Week, presented by your local Pick and Save stores
and Metro Market Stores, only on Fox Sports.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Nine twenty and your Heart Radio App. I love that sign.
Mike mcgivern's gonna love it as well.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
In the end zone here as we're ready for senior night,
gonna have a tip off between the mcguanago Indians and
the Waterford Union Wolverines here momentarily, but look at that
sign right there. Mike says, thank you, officials, gonna have
a fantastic and officiated.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Let me let me say our eyeballs on the officials.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yeah, d yeah, I know all three of them.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Uh, the one in the middle, well, just so you know,
used to be the head basketball coach at West Dallas Hill.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
He was an official, then he went to coach and
now he's back. Uh, yep.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Well, Dennis find Rudin, he's he's probably done well. He
did our game of boy Wiscott's Lutheran with his son Bobby,
and uh, he's done probably.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
It's from three thousand games in his life something like that.
Marquet High boys, so they might have the handle on
the rolls.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
They do, Yeah, they do. We're excited for it.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Excited to be here tonight and we're here at Waterford
Union High School. Mike, as you mentioned a favorite to
one of the Pick and Save high School Athletes of
the Week, Jamison Beasley. However, you told me Cayden Gustavson
might be the one to really be able to watch it.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
He You know what, He's had a really good couple
of weeks and he is up for on a national basis,
the ESPN High School Player of the Week.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
And when I looked this morning, he was leading the
voting and they've done a nice job in social media
getting people to go out.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
And vote for him.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
When I talked to Jamison about him in studio, he
said this kid can straight up shoot it, man, he
can straight up shoot it. And we make sure he
gets good looks so he can he can fill it up.
He's a junior and he's I said, look, have you
always been a good shooter? He goes, for as long
as I can remember, I love that line. Ever since
I woke up, Yeah, woke up.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
I can shoot it. Always been able to.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
So oh, that's fantastic against the boat work on the
little Tyke soup. To be ready for a arsity night
like tonight on a beautiful Thursday. We're in a jam
packed gym and excited to be bringing you the game
here tonight. You mentioned for Kate and he had a
forty one piece in one of these games. Comes in, Mike,
you fire one hundred and seventy five threes in a
single season.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
They know you can shoot it a little bit.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Hey, And another kid on the water for Team Bold Void.
He is uh, he is ranked the number one punter
in the country.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Right now, there we go, James.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I gotta imagine that might be a Coles kicking camp.
Jamie Cole professionally.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
And his dad.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
His dad kicked at at Madison Beauti, Wisconsin, and I
had breakfast his dad a couple of years ago, and
he said, Hey, my son's got a chance.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
He's he's getting to the punting and he's got a chance.
Pretty good. Keep your eye out on him. And all
of a sudden, the kid sends me a lot of stuff.
I'm social. It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
He's a junior, but he's his own at space. He
doesn't need an agent because he's doing a great job
with it.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Well, listen, social media allows everybody to an agent. I'm
excited to see bo. I'm excited to see the rest
of our starting lineups, which we will be announcing to
you coming.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Up on the other side of a timeout.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
But before we do that, tonight's tip off gonna be
brought to by Current Electric Calls Call the Home of Superheroes.
For any of your electrical needs, call Current dot com
and Mike. When you look at all of the teams
that are getting ready for the week that comes up, right,
there's a big weekend that comes up where you'll get seated.
You know and who generally you're gonna be. You know

(16:31):
who's gonna be around you. You just don't know necessarily
what your path is gonna be. We read off the sectionals.
Which of these two groups groupings do you think is
the most treacherous out of the two teams we're gonna
see here from Iguanago there in Division one, sitting there
in Sectional three, it feels like one that could somewhat
be up for grass. But you've got to go west

(16:52):
and that's never something you know a whole lot about necessarily.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Of those teams, yeah, you don't, but look as I
would prefer to be in that one, like I'm I
would be okay, I would not want to be in
Sectional two with Arrowhead, who's starting to play really well
to peer, might be the best team in the state.
German Town's really good, Hamilton homesteads awfully good, Monami Balls
been playing well, Oshcotch North and West Milwaukee. Here's where

(17:17):
I wouldn't want to be if i'm Mgwanago, I feel
pretty good about that. Look, Belloyd Memorial is a pretty
good team, KENNI Moraine the number one team in the state,
but if you if you get seated correctly, you might
not get them until you know the sectional Semis Mcguanaco
just got smashed by them defensively.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
KENNL. Moraine is really good.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
So I wouldn't be happy about that, But the rest
of it, I'd prefer to be there that over in sections.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
How difficult is this week for coaches? Billy?

Speaker 4 (17:50):
I guess the longer I did it, the easier it got,
because as coaches.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
We don't look ahead, but we work ahead.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
So we're gathering and back in the day I was
out film and all this stuff. Now on huddle you
get everything. You could sit in your basement, get up
at three in the morning. You can do all the
recruiting you want. So it's a little bit easier. I think,
at least the work is easier mentally. And and how
your body kind of you don't sleep much, right you
remember during football, same thing and that's what these guys

(18:19):
are going through.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
The weird thing for me is I wish the WI
would would stop that. Look, you know who's.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
In your sectional regional in August? In August? Why wait
till mid January? Thank you, and then do it.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
It makes no sense generally, makes no sense.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
It's not the first time that there's been something that
has come out of the Stevens Point area that's been
head scratching it and didn't make a whole lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
And it won't be the last.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
However, you hope that enough conversation about it generates a
little bit of change.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
Well, they changed to what they do with football now,
they made a change to that.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Look. I loved going to the ceed meetings. I like controversy.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I like to look a guy in the eye and
have them go and I'd be able to say, you
put me.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
At a five. I beat them twice, and I drilled
you twice. Why don't you put me at a four?
And they don't do that now.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
No, and crazy enough, you can't argue with a computer,
and that's maybe the most frustrating part of all of it. Well,
we're excited to put the pregame show to bed, get
to the starting lineups and tip off at tonight's game.
On the other side, it's Mike mcgibbern, it's Billy Schmidt,
Beckett Bonner on the stats as we have the high
school basketball Game of the Week presented by your local
Pick and Save.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
And Metro Market stores.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Coming up next on Fox Sports nine twenty and your
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
That was awesome. That was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
A beautiful rendition of the national anthem brought to us
by the Hartford Union. I'm my guess that's Waterford. Why
don't say Hartford Waterford Union High School. This is gonna
be like a sub chorus here, Mike.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
We're gonna find out because one of the girls is
one of our current electric superheroes of the week. WHOA,
she's gonna come up here. I gotta tell her all
the details and we can ask her.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Well, that's fantastic because they were phenomenal in the singing
of tonight's star Spangled banner and Waterford Union High School
gonna be taken on Mgwanago coming up here in just
a matter of moments. Let's bring you the starting lineups,
brought to you by Citizens Bank, a full service community
bank with twelve convenient offices located throughout Waukeshaw and Walworth Counties,

(20:36):
with a new branch opened in Muskigo off Jamesville Road.
And they just turn the lights out in this place,
and I look good right now. This is what I'm
talking about, all right, This is exciting as we are
gonna have the starting lineups for the Wolverines coming up here,
introduced to the fans and introduced to you right now.
Caden Gustafson as Mike mentioned twenty three points a game.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
He'll rock the number two twenty two. That junior is
currently up for.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
The high School Player of the Week nationally along with ESPN.
One of our Pick and Save high School Athletes of
the Week, Jamison Beasley, shares the back court with him.
Number eleven comes in averaging over thirteen and a half
a night. Colin Lipstowe Lipstowe has played in all twenty one.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Games for the Wolverines. Whears number four.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
He shares the floor with number thirteen Ryan Dashner. Dashner
comes in with just four points a game. However, Mike
does shoot free throws. Currently he's gotten the line sixty
one times. See if he gets there a little bit tonight.
And number thirty Andrew Weber rounds out the starting lineup
for the Wolverines.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Only three games played.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
For number thirty Andrew Webers, so we'll see how he
interacts on the floor and how he's able to get
after it. Coming up here in just a matter of
moments before Mgwanago, they role Jack Carls along with Cayden Glance,
Josh Hayden, Peyton Pulled Now and Caleb Polling the starting

(22:04):
five for the Indians.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Once again.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
That's Hayden pull now, Polling, Crueliane and Carrol's the starting
five for Mguanago who are in there traveling black uniforms,
gold down the sides, gold numerals and the all lights
with the green shrim Waterford across the front for the
Wolverines and they lose the opening tip as it's poked

(22:27):
into the offensive zone for the Indians to start and
to start with the ball as Carols fires it over
to Polling, picks up his dribble twenty feet away, now
swinging around the perimeter. Quick man up defense here for
the Wolverines to start against the Indians. Kicked to Polling
in the corner, patient offense as he tries to work

(22:50):
get to his spot, turns fires back over to Carrol's
man tried to post up right there against Beasley and
Mike your athlete of the week held firm often open
three and Peyton pull now pulls the lever and drops
the first triple of the game. It's three nothing Mcguanago.
Waterford will slowly bring it up, patiently work some offense

(23:13):
to start and now coming and getting it as Colin Lesto.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Drive with the right hand cut off turn around.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Feed and a beautiful pass, just can't finish it. Did
Dashner rebound comes to the Indians. Good offense for the Wolverines.
Everything about the shot, Yeah, a.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Lot of patients on both sides.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Carrol's bounces it back over to Polling. Pulling has to
kick it back over to Carrols. They run a little
two man game. It's poked away from him. Carroll's goes
and gets it nice active hands there by the pistow.
That's good work right at the top of the circle.
Ball momentarily lost from Iguanago, patiently driving trying to get
it against Beasley, can't.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
He takes it away two on one.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
He was the one and can't convert with the right hand,
but he's got to follow up.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
No good from Jase Brickdel.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Jase Brickdel came on the follow up and nearly converted,
but couldn't. That's an OH for three start for Waterford
to start inside. Carrol's picks up his dribble on the
left block, fires it back out now to the corner.
Pulling fires the three in front of his own bench,
knocks it down. Two triples the only scoring, both from Iguanago.

(24:29):
They lead at six to nothing. Well, not a bad
way for them to start. You know, you just get
beat by Ketam Morain. You come out, hit two threes,
get a couple of stops.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Started up at the left wing, bounce it into Beasley.
Waterford looking for their first bucket.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Beasley's right hand is good off the block and nice
patience for Waterford to start. And Polling got a three
and big frame and he has the basketball to bring
it up. Dribble hand off over to Pole. Now Carrol's
I don't know, swinging all the way to the far corner.
Instead gets it to bees to Polling. He's doubled by

(25:05):
Beasley and company.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Three on the way and knock down Cayden Cooling Nane
cool Inane.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Knocks down a triple. That's three threes and a nine
to two lead. Just start for mguanago.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
You think we'll Waterford's gonna have to close out high hand.
Get these guys to shoot over a high hand here
and foul on the ground.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
It's gonna be whistled against mcguanago. Now, how quickly do
you adjust to something like that?

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Mike?

Speaker 4 (25:29):
You know you do, and you go in thinking, okay,
look if we can uh We're gonna pack it in
a little bit inside the three. They haven't hit a
lot of threes last couple of games. Now they come
out and hit.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Three in a row.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
So we're gonna have to now try to try to
get it, get a hand up and close out.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
A little bit quicker.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Gus Stopson has it, wants to drive, pulls back, kicks around.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
So you can see mcguanago is not letting him alone.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
They're there Beasley elbows switching every screen and yeah, no
doubt they're not letting it stop. To get the ball
short on the fifteen foot or now it's mcguanago basketball,
bounce the carrols off the right, block, backs down, now turns, spins,
fires with the left hand.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
He's good. First one inside the arc makes it eleven
two Indians.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
So talking to Jamison, he said, look, we we're a
better second half team, and they said, well, you know
why what happens to He said, you know, we just
kind of get it going a little bit. He gets
it going with a nice pass inside finished by Ryan
Dashner and Jamison Beasley with a nice assist to get
his Wolverines back on the board. Start trimming this margin

(26:38):
four minutes in, it's an eleven to four advantage for mcguanago.
You can see Waterford stepping out outside the three at
this point, double on.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
The block, kick over to a wide open triple, hocks
it down Kay that one right there, Pardon me, was
Josh Hayden.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
So now everybody is getting into the action.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
They've got four threes and four different three point shooters.
It's fourteen to four mcguanago. Early four and a half
minutes in, Beasley drives too strong on the land, gets
his own rebound, kicks off to a triple, and that
one rolls halfway down and out. Hayden grabs the board
from mguanago, and Colin Lapisto had himself an open look

(27:20):
at that three from the right wing, just couldn't drop
it down.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Like no, He's got a good pass by by Jamison
to getting an open look.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Wolverines have gotten themselves some good opportunities, just haven't been
able to convert. That ball goes off of mcguanago, it'll
be Waterford basketball poked out on the drive from Lapisto, and.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Now he.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Is gonna inbound it as Jack Carroll's is gonna leave
for mcguanago newly entered number zero mcguanago picking up Jake Brunnish. Yeah,
they're pressing a little jumpets Hayden and Pull now trapped
as Lapisto, and now he's gonna call time out Will Waterford.

(28:06):
They want a quick thirty second time out here, and
they need one. It's fourteen to four the count currently
five minutes into the game, and it has been all
from beyond the yark for Mgwanago, as they've knocked down
four threes, four different three point makers. They currently have
themselves a ten point lead. Tonight's starting lineups once again,

(28:29):
we're brought to by Citizens Bank, a full service community
bank with twelve convenient offices located throughout Waukeshaw and Walworth Counties,
with a new branch opened in Muskego on Janesville Road.
All of our sponsors here tonight the local Pickens stores
and Metro Market Stores, Citizens Bank, the US Marine Corps,
Hellman Restoration, Brookfield, Buick, gmc bic Automotive, Current Electric, and

(28:53):
Donovan Jurgensen Heating and Cooling Pistow gets it for Waterford
as they trail by ten here to start Man's Height
Defense right at the top, harassing him as Peyton pull.
Now triple on the way and Gustafson finally hits one.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Kayden Gustafson cuts.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
That lead and now it is a fourteen to seven
advantage from mcgonago. They nearly find themselves in a beautiful
look underneath. Instead, a wild pass had to get yanked
down by Carson Gruel and a turnover.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Beasley inside has to.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Try to get a backball chaotically poked around, Beasley has
it right wing. Gustafson NBA range, dribbling through his legs,
looked like he wanted to try to send a wild pull. Instead,
bounces it off to Ryan Dashner. Dashner's got himself a
deuce on the night. Substitutions coming for both teams in
a moment six minutes in, it's fourteen to seven Mgwanago

(29:56):
and whistle on the ground gonna be a loose ball
foul that one coming against Carson Gruel. Dashner gonna leave
for Waterford, and so will Caleb Poling for mcguanago. Substitution
for each team newly entered now with the basketball is

(30:18):
Bouvoy Bounce Beasley off the glass, power moving in and
he makes it a five point game as it's a
quick five to zero run in a necessary one for Waterford.
Early Josh Hayden's drive is cut off. Now Peyton poll
now inside the lane, five foot floater pure and mcguanago
gets that deuce right back. Now they pick up full

(30:39):
court and count of four, they're gonna have to get
it in.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Bounce it to Beasley.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Pistow gets it up, gustops in three on the way misses.
Everything comes down by Gruel and mcguanago races into the
front court. Dribble hand off to Hayden almost intercepted and
it's contacted twenty two on twenty two Cayden Gustafson gonna
be called, not gonna be called for the whistle. Pardon me,

(31:06):
Josh Hayden the one whistled for that foul for mguanago,
unless actually that was foul was called away from the
ball on zero Jake Brunish, A little confusion up here.
Gustavson right hand off the left side, No good Man

(31:28):
good inside looks for mcguanago, just having or for Waterford
against this mcguanago defense, just haven't been able to convert
that time. It's a drive left side right hand foul
on the way up, and Carson Gruel is gonna find
himself tripped to the charity stripe with a sixteen to
nine Mguanago lead ten fifty seven to go.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
Here in the opening.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Half, grules free throw percentage on this season not dazzling.
Sixty two percent knocks down the first just combating that
announcer jinks. However, Grule's percentage might not be amazing.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
He has gone to the foul line the third most
for the Indians, fifty eight trips to.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Foul shots on the season. Make it sixty as he
goes one for two on the trip. Gustafson pumps a
three on a deep crosscore pass short on the way up.
That boss poked off the hands of Gruel and it'll
stay with the Wolverines. Now, that's a great deep full
court pass, three quarter pass to Gustafson and good patience

(32:37):
for him to pump. Just couldn't knock down that triple
Waterford's gonna need to get him hot.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
They give him one in the corner, rolls.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Halfway down and out and then back in, rolls off
the front iron off the back up into the air,
bounces off the window and down, and now it's a
five point game at seventeen to twelve, and Cayden Gustafson,
most dangerous score in this game, is starting to finally
get going. Off a miss three, it's as three on

(33:06):
two break the pistol kicks it back and now Waterford
will fire to Beasley's three.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Now sit down seventeen fifteen the.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Count and Waterford with a massive eleven three run here
early to trim the lead down to two with ten
minutes to go in the opening.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Half, Waterford in the one half court one to three
to one. Kind of packed in a little bit, but
pretty active. Hayden's three from the corner answers the.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Back to back triples for the Wolverines, and in the
Indians shooting the lights out here early.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
It's twenty to fifteen.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Mic, Yeah, they really have, I mean getting great looks
and converting.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Still don't feel like Waterford's gotten a lot of bad looks.
They just haven't gotten a whole lot to go down.
Beasley has that one pokes away, Gustopson hits the deck,
Beasley dribble hand off three from the wing, rolls off
and Brunus pulls the rebound down for the Wolverines. Hayden
fires another misses it. That ball is loose and it's

(34:07):
last touched by Gruel of Mgwanago and it'll be Wolverine
ball here with nine twenty five and go in the
opening half.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Than Carson. Gruel has been all over the floor here. Yeah,
since coming off the bench here for the Indians.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yeah, he's uh, he's shaking that one off. Beasley hit
him pretty good going for that loose ball.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
What have you noticed here by Waterford's ability to get
some open looks off the press here?

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Mike, It just you know, I think, uh, they're not
attacking against it, They're just trying to get it over
a half court and then set up their offense. I
I always thought if somebody had the guts to to
trap us here, to press us, let's make them pay.
We attacked it god as quickly as possible, and it
looks as though they're they're uh, they're just setting their

(34:54):
half court offense up there standing in this one three
one kind of a kind of a three quarter quarter,
I guess, and gave up an easy.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Look there, great feed as Hayden finishes in the alley
hoop with a little tip laying off the right side.
This game was a two point game. Now back to
a seven point advantage from Iguanago.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
You know, if they're gonna run that one three one,
you've got to put pressure on the top two.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
He can't just look around and make an easy pass
like that.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Mike sky Bovite comes and gets it at the top
of the circle and a foul off the ball.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
I believe that's gonna go against Josh Hayden never won
punter either in the state or the country. I gotta go.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
Look now, he sends me a lot of stuff. Good kid.
I gotta get him, get him. I can get him
in the studio. Yeah, com football, him and his dad
will come in. Now.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
That might be the second time that I have led
Beckett astray on the file. That one looks like it
also might have been on Jake Brunish unless the two
on the scoreboard is broken for the fouls.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
That's that's the only way that we're gonna be able
to find that out.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
That Boll's poked away from Jamison Beasley and now twenty
two fifteen the lead from mcguanageh they race.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
It into the front court.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
That passes poked away and leading the break comes Gustafson. Oh,
he thought he had a chance to go to the
lane instead, he wanted a triple.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Now he's crossing over.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
As the Indians get back Beasley top of the circle,
Gustafson works against newly entered flow bro eleven Christian Roy.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Gustafson crossing, crossing.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Firing from fifteen away, rolls down and out, and Roy
comes and pulls down the rebound from Mguanago.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
So Christian Roy's brother played plays up at Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Sir Nathan, Yeah, tremendous football player. Corner comes Carrol's good
cut off. Roy founds himself all alone under the basket,
can't convert with the right hand.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Great look.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
In, great pass by Jack Carroll's who comes back into
the game. The Indians votes three, rolls out rebound along
to Josh Hayden and mcgwonagall once again limits to one
shot and that's gonna be a lot of contact there,
and gonna be against Waterford. Substitutions for both teams.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Hayden not shooting, as he will exit the game after
being fouled there by. We believe, at least I should
say I believe. Gavin Rogland and.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Confirmed had a boy Beckett.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Poor statbook is gonna look quite cumbersome with the mistakes
coming here from the announcer. Carrol's tried to drive, had
to kick it back out travel. I thought so too, Mike.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Yeah, well from where we're at. Colin Aine got away
with one there.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Roy had had poked away by Beasley and now it's
Luca Tess.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Back to man and man Waterford got out of.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
That one three one Caleb Polling baseline ten foot or
no good rebound comes to Christian roy All alone for
a three is cooling in can't knock it down, but
another offensive rebound for the Indians tests he can't convert
ball controlled by Beasley, had it poked around, and then
he races it all the way going coast to coast

(38:23):
with the left hand. He is fouled on the way up,
blocking foul against the Indians, and Jamison Beasley told Mike McGivern,
why don't you guys come and do one of our games.
Why don't you come out here to Waterford. My man,
Jamison Beasley is just taking the game over. He said,
I'm gonna take it into my own hands, go ninety
two feet and draw the foul knocks down the first.

(38:46):
Beasley came into the tonight's game, Mike shooting sixty five
percent from the from the free throw line. But with
you in attendance, I think he's gonna go a hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Yeah, he's and his grandfather over in the corner watching him,
and you know, it's intrest when you do Senior Night.
It takes a while, it does, Yeah, because all the
emotions of having your parents, your grandparents and them announcing
all this stuff, and it goes so quick. Right you're
a freshman thinking well I got years from that, and
then boom, it's here, and so it takes I think
Senior Night did.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Tough time sometimes gets your boys going.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
He has taken it upon himself here to play as
hard as possible. Nearly pokes that one away and gets
a steal instead. Mcguanagah controls it again with Peyton. Poll
now kicks a polling working against the aforementioned Beasley. Good
da man, great defense, draws a travel halob polling looking
for a block. Mcgonago's bench wanted one as well, but

(39:41):
seemed like it was pretty good straight up defense.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, and he Beasley uses his legs pretty well and
his hands are straight up.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
But he uh, he's a little tougher on the basket
than I thought he'd be.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
I also love that he's taking the ball up right
now and going up against oh Jack Carroll's but picks
it up just before the timeline. Ooh, nearly a massive
issue and then a turnover as miscommunication on the pass
right there, it appeared.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah, he thought he thought he.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Was going to curl it into the corner and Ryan
Dashner threw it right into the mcgwanago bench yep looking
for Gustafson.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
Who stats didn't stopped and he was gonna kind of
come back on that pick, but they thought he was curling.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
Inside de roy nice bounce over to Polling Polling's wild
left shot, no good rebound, pulled down by the Wolverines
and racing into the front court trying to feed it
across to Dashner just out.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
In front of it.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Boy, too many turnovers this half for Waterford, right, I
bet that's six or seven turnovers.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Uh huh. Lipisto just wanted to get that thing out
of his hand and get it up. We're just a
little bit too aggressive on some of these.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
Yeah, I as a coach i'd I always say make
the easy pass. Yeah, just make the easy pass. Let's
get into our stuff, and uh, Waterford's got to take
care of the ball a little bit better.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Carrol's patiently puts it off the glass as he waited
for the defender to clear.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
And it's a.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Twenty four to sixteen lead here for the Indians with
five minutes to go in the opening half. Beasley has
it works against Carroll's spinning, driving, stepping a few too
many times, but he's contacted on the ground. I believe, no,
I think maybe then they're gonna give him two foul shots.
That one's gonna go against Jack Carroll's who's playing some

(41:29):
good physical defenses. He's outsized in that matchup. But then
you move your feet, Mike, you can stay in front
of a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
You can't and basically does a nice job of initiating
some contact and getting the reps to call. You know,
easily knocks down the first call as he's going to
the basket. He initiates the contact and it's hard not
to call something like that.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
No doubt, especially when you're a little bit bigger of
a kid. You can physically take that and initiate the
contact and still get to your spot, do what you
want with and handle the ball the way Beasley does. Yeah,
no doubt about it. It's pretty impressive.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
About half the ride down, I was talking to Beckett about, dude,
some driveling drills and how important handling the balally is
in this game.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
And then he stole the ball from you.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
No, he can shoot it, Okay, Becky could shoot it
pretty well, but the handle part I struggle.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
I want him to get better at.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
I got a pretty sour look from my young son
here today when I moved the little tight snoop up.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
Yeah, don't move that. Yeah, we gotta hear it up though.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
I mean, come on, okay, you can only shoot on
the lowest level for so long, right right, get twenty
five months on that thing.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
We got to crank it up.

Speaker 4 (42:34):
I got Beckett going to the Jeff Tricky quarterback camp.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Beasley misses the second It's a seven point game inside
the painted area. Was poll now kicks it back out
Jack Carroll's during that momentary story time, got a nice
ace bandage around that right elbow was drawn a little
bit of blood. His Mgwanaco Indians turn it over inside
the offensive zone.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
So uh mcguannae go back into that kind of a
twelve price where they're gonna come trap the ball here.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
No trap, no trap, just a little bit of pressure
on Lipisto and he picks up his dribble twenty almost
forty feet away and then passes it into the bleachers.
And like, that's got to be seven or eight turnovers
so far for water for just too many.

Speaker 4 (43:24):
And it's not it's not they're turning the ball over
trying to get a back door layup. I mean they're
they're they're turning the ball over, they're picking it up,
you know, in half cord and at least four.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Of them have been them behind the arc.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Yes, yep, halfway down and out for Hayden, no good
pulling nearly saves it off of a Waterford Wolverine, but
his heel tapped the baseline and it's last touch by
mcguanage four h nine to go. It's a seven point
game and Waterford still got to feel pretty good as
to where you are if you're the Wolverines right now.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Yep, he stopped turning.

Speaker 4 (43:59):
The ball over. We're knock down a couple of shots.
You're right back in it. You're just down seven.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
Beasley has a top of the circle working against Hayden
our side man and man defense. They get it down
into Beasley right block spinning.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
He looked at it. He was blocked from behind.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Good feet as he passes it off and cannot convert
Jase Bechtel.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
To two layups have been missed here this half.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
That's a tough one right there. Pole now passes inside
to Gruel. Hayden has it in the corner. Now Pole
now the top of the circle for the Indians works
it inside the painted area. Who works against Beasley? I
thought he double dribbled instead. They don't call it now
they're gonna reset the offense. Will the Indians with polling
left wing driving kicking Hayden corner three is in his

(44:47):
own zip code misses that one off front iron, but
another offensive rebound goes to Peyton.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Pole Now's triple no good.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Gruel pulls down another offensive rebound for the Indians and
a foul can be called against Waterford.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
The a tough possessions to handle it is.

Speaker 4 (45:02):
Look, if you're the coach of Waterford, you're looking at
turnovers and offensive rebounds at this point that are causing
you all the issues, right, you gotta clean up Those
are things you can clean up.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Too, Yeah, no doubt about it. I mean those are
correctible issues for a lot of it. Right.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
We got a time out on the floor, will take
one as well. On Fox Sports nine twenty and Your
iHeart Radio app. Twenty four to seventeen. Mcguanago with the lead.
It's the high school basketball Game of the Week, presented
by your local Big and Save and Metro Marcuts stores
on Fox Sports nine twenty and Your iHeartRadio app. Mguanago.

(45:41):
Indians taken on the Waterford Wolverines. We're high above the
floor here at Waterford Union High School. As an inside feed.
Now they're missed by Luca Tess. He gets his own rebound,
puts it right back in and Mike to the point,
these offensive rebounds are killing Waterford. I don't know if
that's worse than the turnovers, but currently it's one of
the main reasons why the Indians have a twenty six

(46:02):
to seventeen lead, two forty to play.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Gustavson's three knocks it down far corner and that ball
rainbows through the nylon, trim the margin to six baseline
drive by pole. Now bounce to test. It's taken away
by Beasley.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
Lost on the floor, bodies hit the deck, racing into
the front court, come to Wolverines.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
He takes seven steps. They don't call any of.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Them, and it's a foul on the ground and it's
gonna be a one and one.

Speaker 4 (46:30):
Yeah, he should have had a little luggage and that handoff.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
That handoff came at the three point line. He tucked
that bad boy high and tight. It appeared to take
about four or five, maybe six steps. But get fouled
on the ground and it'll.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Be Colin Lipisto who goes to the foul line, gets
to shoot a one to one. Here with two eighteen
to go and Mike gets twenty six to twenty. You've
played poorly if you're Waterford, but you're right in this game.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
Right he hits these two free throats. It's to a
four point game. With two minutes ago, you could be
leading at half.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Pistol knocks down the first and especially with a three
point shooter like Gustavson, you know you're only a couple
of possessions away from being right back into the game
here and yeah, you're fine. Stop turning the ball over
box out, could get it, get a rebound.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
What's going on? Whistle here on the floor. I don't
know if.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
Maybe the clocked in start didn't start. Somebody ran onto
the floor. Oh it wasn't Beckett. He's still right here
all right, fifteen like something he would do. Yeah, you
don't get the ball, but he shoot it. He wouldn't
pass it. Well, why would you.

Speaker 3 (47:41):
Learn learn from his grandma to get hip to stay high?

Speaker 2 (47:46):
Boy pulling fires in into the corner. He had two
Indians in there. However, now he gets it back far
wing misses that triple off front iron rule, pulls down
an offensive board for the Indians and inside the panted area.
Got to kick it away and they do so. Nobody
but Brunish's pass is pulled down by Peyton poll now

(48:07):
and nearly intercepted, but almost a backcourt violation. They call
it travel instead. I didn't know that the travel was coming, Mike.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
I thought it would have been a backcourt violation as
either way.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Hayden's stepped on the Yeah, timeline right there, people mcguina
go coaches here, they've been questioning a few of the
calls here, Yeah, the lack of a travel call on
the last one and in this one here, But these
reps are doing a great job.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Billy, see that sign, they'll see that sign. They're loving
thank you.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Minute thirty to go here in the opening half, inside
feed boy can't knock it down. He finishes off the
job as he cleans up his own mess and makes
it a two point game.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
Boy just like that, down to wow, get a stop here.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Great seven zero run for the Wolverines and with seventy
five seconds to go, they're only away from the Indians
by two. Trying to backdoor cut, did Hayden instead? Poland
kicks it off into the corner to brunish his baseline drive,
but ends up to Gruel in the corner. Three on
the way off back iron, Beasley has it three on two,

(49:11):
racing up to Gustafson lings it in with the right hand.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
Rates a game.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
It's really good pass by Beasley, had his head up looking.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Make it an eleven two run and it's twenty six up.
Forty seconds to go here in the opening half, Hayden,
working against Lapisto, pulls up from five away, misses it
off the glass.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
Rebound comes da void.

Speaker 2 (49:35):
He pulls up, waits for the cavalry and gives it
off to Gustavson, and with thirty seconds to go, it
looks like the Warriors will hold for the last shot.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Beasley kicks off to Lapisto. Now Gustafson has.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
It just in front of the timeline, standing on the
big w logo at mid court.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
If O Boyd has it with twelve second nighty Wolverines, man,
they're back in this thing.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
Gustops in with eight, works into the lane with five,
scoops off the right hand and he's in.

Speaker 3 (50:04):
And Waterford as a lead with two.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Peyton poll now is three from oh half court goes
off back iron and as we looked at twenty six seventeen,
thought you could keep it within single digits. You'll feel good.
Instead of Waterford races in front. They pull off a
twelve nothing run to close out the first half.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Twenty eight twenty six.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Waterford Wolverines lead the Indians here at the break. We'll
be back with the halftime report after this. Mike McGivern,
Beckett Bonner, I'm Billy Schmid dead gas and produces it.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
It's the high school basketball game of the week.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Or stop in one hundred and thirtieth and Capital drive
Brookfield Buick GMC. Where the difference really is the dealer. Mike, Oh,
you hit that one. I've been practicing well.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Listen when Sergeant Bater is in here for the US
Marine Corps. I can't mess up looking you can't.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
You did great, Sergeant Bader. How are you doing today?
I'm doing well. How are you doing good?

Speaker 3 (51:26):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (51:26):
I want to thank you and the US Marine Corps
for hanging with us again this year for our US
Marine player the.

Speaker 3 (51:32):
Game I really appreciated. Hey. What schools do you do
you cover?

Speaker 5 (51:36):
So the schools that I cover I cover with Stosha
in West Allis will my I like the technical I
cover Tremper Ruther High School.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
Man, you're busy now, I'm very busy, busy.

Speaker 5 (51:49):
I'm about like twelve schools I'm in charge of, like
entirely like the southeast Wisconsin area.

Speaker 4 (51:53):
And what if the school used to be at Yes, yeah, yeah,
you knew exactly kind of where to go by the
concession stand stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
Absolutely. Sure.

Speaker 5 (52:00):
How long you been to us screen, I've been in
the Marine Corps for twelve years now, So how old
are you when you joined? I didn't join until I
was twenty one years old, So I that's the interesting
to me.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Can we talk a little bit about that? Yeah, A
lot of times we talked to guys that.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Went right from high school absolutely into the US Supreme Court.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
Absolutely, but that's not it.

Speaker 4 (52:18):
I mean, once you try college or you tried the trades,
it's not for you. There there were times when guys
that are nineteen twenty twenty one still.

Speaker 3 (52:27):
Searching for that career and that's what happened for you. Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (52:32):
So I entered the workforce right away, so I was
doing like various different jobs. I'm originally from Martin Groveville
and Noise, so like I used to kill them with
squegos over the summer. Okay, I had like a bunch
of like different like you know, like trade jobs because
I didn't really know like what I want to do
after high school, but like and then decided, like, you know,
I want to do something little bit more. I wanted
to be able to travel and get like more experiences

(52:53):
to like how about like myself and my future family.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Yeah, that's why I decided to during the Nside Marine Corps.

Speaker 4 (52:59):
And you been in it long enough that you could
have gotten out right a couple of times, I would
think you reap.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
The decision to re up. Was that a tough decision
for you?

Speaker 5 (53:09):
No, it definitely wasn't a tough decision for me because
you know, uh, you know, other the training was definitely difficult,
but like, once you're like past the training, it's probably
like one of the easiest jobs I've ever had, so
that this has been the phenomenal experience and.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
Getting you prepared for whatever you want to do in
the future, whatever.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
You want to do.

Speaker 4 (53:26):
Is this something you think you'll you'll retire from the
Marine Corps?

Speaker 3 (53:29):
Oh? Yeah, that's definitely the goal you want to retire.

Speaker 4 (53:32):
Yes, man, we really appreciate your service a beater, I
really do. And and do you like the recruiting side.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
I do.

Speaker 5 (53:39):
Like the recruiting side, it's definitely uh, you know, it's
you know challenging, like like any organization, because no, no,
not let people like know about like what it is,
like what we do is like the military, right uh.
And you know that's just you know, trying to get
through everybody, just like we're not. Uh, we want to
provide like the best opportunities for you, like for your
long term careered things on nature and yeah, so as

(54:02):
long as you sit down and talk with us, like
there's no obligation to tied up right away.

Speaker 3 (54:05):
We just want to help you out with your future
goals playing.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
What's one of the biggest things, you know, things that
you're gnomers that you're trying to dispel and notions that
people preconceived notions they have with joining the marine.

Speaker 5 (54:15):
So pre see notions is you know, they think that
they're not gonna get like their education that I paid
for things on nature even when you're in active duty. Also, yeah,
it's gonna be challenging through their cord training, but it's
not like impossible to you know, make it through because
I wasn't the most physical fit person that was like
one of my like worries. But yeah, that's like the

(54:36):
like the biggest fear that I think like a lot.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
How long? How long is boot camp? Three months? And
uh three yours is three months? Too long to be
there a week? Man. But I hear they yell at
me when they get off the bus. I bet they're
gonna have fun yelling at you.

Speaker 4 (54:53):
Yeah, don't be, I'm gonna take a swing at somebody,
don't know. Yeah, those days, trust me, those days are over.
Sergia Brader, Thank you so much. We're gonna have you
back on at the end of the game. For our
US screen player of the game, it means a lot
to us that you guys continue to be part of
this thing. Show up every day and I see you
talking to kids out in the hallway as they're doing
their pull ups. May doing a great job. It's really

(55:15):
good to meet you.

Speaker 3 (55:16):
I appreciate it. Good to meet you too. Appreciate it.
Appreciate it. Sergeant. We'll talk to you after the game.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
We got a good one going on as Waterford Fit
closes out the first half on a twelve zero run
to take a twenty eight twenty six lead. Second half
coming up right after this on Fox Sports nine twenty
Welcome back to Waterford Union High School as the Wolverines
taking on the mcguanago Indians.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Action back underway here into the second half.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Amazing interview and conversation with Sergeant Bader, and for all
you hockey fans, we bring in the Marines and instantly
the United States equalizes it at one point one against Canada.
More importantly, it's twenty eight, twenty six right now. As
the Wolverines, Mike closed out the first half as well
as any team I've been able to see in these games, take.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Not only control back in the game, but take the lead.

Speaker 4 (56:05):
Yeah, and they stopped turning the ball over and giving
up offensive rebounds. As we talked about, that was a
really good end of the first half for them.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
They double Gustavson as Beasley wide open for a three
rims out loose ball offensive rebound one for the Wolverines.
How about that Ostapson three on the.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
Way knocks it down. He can shoot him straight on
and it's a boy. He's got a really nice looking
shot too.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
I don't know that he's met one that he doesn't like.
Thirty one twenty six Peyton Poll Now good bounce over
to Carrol's. I thought Carrol should have went right up
with that instead fires it over to Hayden. Three on
the way. No good rebound pulled down for the Wolverines.
Now dashner to Lapisto as they pass it into the
front court, gets a screen by Beasley, picks up his
dribble behind the arc. Harassed by Carrol's bounces over to Beasley,

(56:54):
works against Pole. Now baseline drive up and under beautiful
off the glass finish, and.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
This run continues.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
It was a twenty six to seventeen lead from Mguanago.
It's now a thirty three to twenty six lead for Waterford.
Hayden camp end the streak as he misses with the
right hand, looking for a file there, Beasley dribbles out
of the corner, gets it off to Gustafson. Gustapson trying

(57:24):
to eye another chance to elevate. Why not clears room
eight foot or inside the yark.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
It's not his game, no, you know what?

Speaker 4 (57:32):
And even he's kind of smirking, like, come on, that
was the easiest shot I've had tonight. But you could
tell offensively, boy, that's a skilled junior here at Waterford.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
Got sixteen of the thirty three on the night for
Waterford does Gustafson good feed and a back door laying
for Josh Hayden. And that is a big moment here
from mcguanago because they finally get themselves back on the board.

Speaker 4 (57:58):
Yeah, it's been a while since they've scored, got something
going to the basket, ran a set and got a
good look.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
They ran that same thing against that zone earlier on
in the game mic and at that moment, I think
it stretched it out to a seven or nine point game.
It felt like if they're gonna be able to get
those lands, there's gonna be a long night for the Wolverines.
Really a lot of credit to the Wolverines being able
to slow down on offensive.

Speaker 4 (58:21):
Yeah, I agree, And look, I think they took that
time out and I think they talked about taking care
of the ball, making sure you get a body on.
Somebody got out of that one three one makes it
a little bit easier to get a body you know
who you got it. You have to box out right,
and they've done nice jobs since that time out they took.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
Gustafson pulls back, tried to drive and instead gets it
off to the pistol far side.

Speaker 3 (58:50):
You can't get it to the block.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
Instead of fires to Beasley, he loses his footing and
lose the basketball in the drive. It's taken away by
the Indians and laying it in is Kate and cool
and Aane and cool and Aine makes it a three
point game. Good back to back buckets for mcgwonago to
trim the margin after it got to a seven point
lead for Waterford.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
That lead to start and to end the first half
was the first time Waterford led all game. Yep. Remember
they started this game down six nothing.

Speaker 2 (59:21):
It was fourteen to four at one point, and then
that was the largest lead that they had at seven.

Speaker 4 (59:26):
Yeah, and you kind of had a feeling mcgonag go's
not gonna be able to shoot like that the entire game.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
I think they hit four of their first five threes.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
Yeah, and uh and four different guys knocking down a trail.
That's a good point, yep. Ye, And they were getting really
open looks, Mike, and everything was falling.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
How difficult is that as a coach, just to be
able to calm the boys down. It's steam your night.
It's a exciting game. Mike mcibbern's in attendance, like, how
do you calm things down when they don't go your
way early?

Speaker 4 (59:55):
You know, I think with what was happening, it's some
simple fixes. Right close out and high hand close out,
start making the easy pass and get a.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Body on somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
And they've done that, they really have an inside. Now
Poll now tries to sneak one by the right hand,
a big number twenty one Chris Tesmer. Instead he's fouled
on the way up. So Pole, now we'll go to
the charity stripe where knockdown free throws just under eighty

(01:00:26):
percent and shows why as he drains that first one. Now, Mike,
I don't know if you're gonna allow this. This would
be the fourth best free throw percentage on the team
for Pole. Now, if we're going to count the two
for two for Colton Jansen, who has only shot two
free throws.

Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
If that's if that's my son, I'm counting he's the
best free throw shooter, not only on our tea, but
maybe in the country.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Hey, hard to have a better percentage.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Yeah, good feed by Jamison Beasley as Tesma cleans it
up on the left block. Thirty six thirty two. The
count for Waterford Pole Now tries to drive. Baseline cut
off cleanly by Dashinger, and Pole Now said, well, I'm
gonna throw this right off your femur and keep the

(01:01:16):
basketball for the Indians.

Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
You know, Jamison was telling me that the last couple
of games, teams have gone triangle in two on them. Wow,
and they've they've gone on him, and you're stopping to
make sure that they're not getting a ton of looks,
he said.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
The other boys off stepped up. Yeah, he said.

Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
Then we started getting some looks and they got a
little tired chasing into ron screens, and.

Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
Yeah, it was awesome. I might put two on Gustavsen
and take my chances. Yeah, I might too.

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
I might to thirty six thirty two Indians in bounding
underneath the basket that they are attacking. They get it
over to Hayden, who works Man Demand fires off to
the right side, cool and aim drive kick.

Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
Polling has it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
I'm gonna pass it around the good man man defense
here for Waterford. Gustavson works against Pole now. Pole Now
patiently gets to the block instead dishes off to Polling.
Polling can't find anybody now, Hayden wide open for three
contact it on the way up and he's gonna get
three free throws and Chris Tesmer is getting a scolding.

(01:02:22):
Might be a harsh way of putting it, just an
informational tutorial from his head coaches to how to close
out in that moment because these three three free throws
are big that he just gave up.

Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
You bet one of the refs is having a conversation
with the mcguanago student section. Tell them to knock it off.
So see if that uh oh wow, yeah, not happy
with him right now? Well you got you got something
the arrowhead coach about that or oh no, that.

Speaker 3 (01:02:52):
Would be more of a Witnell High School alone from okay,
all right, from the interactions that I would have had
with the stripes and that student section, yeah, messmer for me,
pal a lot of those you definitely can't say no,
you know.

Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
And my wife was the captain of the cheerlead and
she would be rolling her eyes right now, going, yeah,
you should have been kicked out of that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
Jim oh boy.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Anyway, Luckily, when you were the falcon you could say
a lot of different things and nobody could hear it
in the mascot outfit there, Josh Hayden knocks down all
three free throws, makes it thirty six, thirty five. Gustavson
tried a little hackem shake, lays it off the glass,
but slid that pivot foot one two three, maybe five inches,
and it's gonna be a thought.

Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
Yeah, I thought that was a really good call. He
thought so too, trying to be nice to the officials.

Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
Here. You're doing good, Mike, You're doing a great job. Yeah.
I like these guys really really good. Really like this position.
As we're high above the four year Waterfield.

Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
High School and nobody can actually hear us, right, except
that if you listen to the radio, unless you're listening
to the radio, and uh, I get to stay in
the whole time, and I'm not in anybody's way.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Polling misses that one and it's taken down by Beasley,
who races into.

Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
The front court.

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
He tried to go coast to coast earlier, flips it
off to la pistol lapistol, try to no look hand
off to Dashner underneath. Oh, it was off of mguamago. Mike,
you said, why what did you not like about that?

Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
As well?

Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
He had a layup and and you try to wrap
around pass.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
To somebody who wasn't He was thinking he was gonna shoot.
You shoot the layup. Yeah right there. Gustops and pumps
a three.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
He wants every opportunity to Firey misses that one from
just inside the arc.

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Beasley off in offensive, remount.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Knocks it down, hits the triple to the eye and
a big three for Beasley. Thirty nine thirty five, twelve
oh nine to go in the game. We got a
time out on the floor. We'll take one as well.
Fox Sports nine twenty in your iHeart Radio app twelve
oh nine to go in the ball game. It's thirty

(01:05:00):
nine thirty five Waterford High School Basketball Game of the
Week was sent about your local Pick and Safe stores.
Also thanks to Metro Market Stores, Citizens Bank, US Marine Corps,
Kellman Restoration, Brookfield, Buick, gmc bic Automotive, Current Electric, and
Donovan Jurgensen Heating and Cooling.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
That's awesome, It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
They're just fantastic arches, the largest to play owned HVAC
company in the state of Wisconsin. Celebrating your forty Donavan
Jorgenson he Cooling.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
I love those talking about round him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
Applause for forty years Donovan and Jurgensen all right, under
twelve minutes to go. It's a four point ball game.
Jamison Beasley's got fifteen. Just knocked down a big triple
and he drew a lot of attention. Lapisto had it
on the left block and Polling swatted it from above,
gets it over to Hayden. Good feed to Gruel now
poll now drives the lane. He meets two Waterford Wolverines

(01:05:54):
in the painted area, kicks over to Polling three on
the way, rolls off. Lapisto takes the rebound for Waterford
across the timeline.

Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
Time out or foul on the floor. Pardon me?

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
During that time out, Mike, it looked like a concerted
effort for mguanago to try to share the basketball on
that possession.

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
What'd you like on that offensive possession there?

Speaker 4 (01:06:16):
So they during that time out obviously ran a set
to try to get a three, try to get somebody
a really good look. I thought they did a nice job,
and a kid came off with double screen. He missed
the shot, but it looks to be defensively mcguanne goes
picked up the pace a little bit and trying to
get a little bit more physical with Waterford.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Than they were in the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
I'm glad you said the physical part, Mike. It is
definitely ramping up here in the second half. Inside feed. Wow,
that's a contact from Gruel as Jace Brechtel got the
ball up underneath.

Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
These two eyes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
Thought Breckdel may have traveled before the contact. Instead, he's
gonna get a pair of foul shots misses.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
The first one off the front Iron.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Rechtel came in nineteen of twenty nine from the file
line on the ear Mesmer Math had that one at
sixty five point five percent.

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
I think we had Math back then. Well, if we did,
I skipped that class. Maybe Jason Brexel box down the
second makes it a split trip forty to thirty five
to count eleven plus minutes to go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
Here in the ballgame, Iguanago trying to get it inside.
Christian Roy recently enters, bounces over to Gruel and they
have not gotten as many open looks from three right
as I say that poll now straight on rolls off right.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
Iron gets his.

Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Own long rebound near the three point line. It's poked
away by Gustapson and he tried to pass it over
to tests and now Mike's man, Jameison Beasley passes.

Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
It into the front court.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Cayden Gustavson sitting on sixteen here, Tonight passes over to Beasley.
Beasley takes it right a round pull now help and
he was looking for any bit of help. Jamison Beasley
took it himself and Mgwanago takes a timeout.

Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
Hair Head coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Fired up and Roy Roy missed the help side defense.
We can't miss the timeout. It's forty two thirty five,
ten thirty to play on Fox Sports nine twenty in
your iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
Welcome back, ten thirty to go.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Here in the ball game, it's forty two thirty five.
As mcguanago led this game by ten early Mike, they
couldn't miss early in the game, and since about the
two and a half minute mark of the first half,
nothing's been going in for the visitors.

Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
They trail it now by seven.

Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
And look, I think Waterford's done a really nice job
is settling it down again. The things that you can do,
take care of the ball, box out, don't give up
any offensive rebounds. That's really they they from that time
out they took has really turned it a run.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
And Mike, you mentioned Jamison Beasley, who was one of
your pick and safe high school basketball high school athletes, yep,
student athlete.

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
I apologizes. That's a great addition of that. He said.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
They're a second half team. Wolverine started the second half
with a couple of minutes to go. In the first half,
Christian Roy misses a three. Bench didn't love that shot.
It didn't look like races in the front court. Test
takes it away. It was gonna be a nice bounce inside.
Little too much patience there.

Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
Pull. Now is three rolls down and what a sequence.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
That's a five point swing as it was going to
be the largest lead of the night for Waterford. If
that pass goes through instead, it's a three point game.
With nine to go, Jamison Beasley sends Tests to the baseline,
three comes from La Pisto, It rains it, and it's
a seven point game once again.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Hello, what's going on now? They're giving a flopping warning
against Luca Tests? Now. I don't know, Mike, I thought
he I thought he was contacted.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
I did think the slide was he wouldn't flying eye
opening if he.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Wasn't flying on his own like that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
And I don't I don't know about that one, but hey,
they're on the floor. They see it a little bit
better than we do, and you're on the second floor. However,
love the vantage point we have here too.

Speaker 4 (01:10:34):
Plus it's you, me and Beckett in a full classroom. Yeah,
Beckett's trying to get answers for the next test. He
didn't even go to school here.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
He was grabbing me the multiple choice answers. I haven't
been at school in fifteen years. Pull them out, drives
and he's filed on the way up. Just a force
a habit. That's just good patience, being able to draw
the contact, still be able to get that thing off.

Speaker 4 (01:10:56):
Very difficult to teach kids. Even at this level. You
get an open look to be not to just go
really quick and lay it up, to hesitate, slow down,
initiate the contact, try to get an.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
A one pull now misses the first really big next
three minutes for mcguonago if they want to stay in
this game. Couldn't agree with you more, Mike.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
The intensities pull now touches every part of the rim
on that one rolls out misses a pair. That's a
tough trip for almost eighty percent free throw shooter. Wolverines
have it chance to go up by ten if they
get a triple inside. Jace breck Oh swat it away.
Gruel pulls down the board. What a good hustle pay

(01:11:43):
by Carson Gruel.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
Boy, there's four guys in the lane playing defense from Guanaco.
If you'd kept this head up, you had a bunch
of guys wide open for trees.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
Josh Hayden's triple rolls in and start that big three
minute stretch with a trip. That three makes it a
four point game at forty five, forty one, eight thirty
to play, And Mike, I couldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Agree with you more. And this is a moment where.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
And that blow by my Lopisto clears and converts off
the glass. I don't know how he got that ball off,
let alone through. And now he gets a steal as
he takes that bounce pass away from Pole. Now who
thought he was gonna have a beautiful laying off the
right side. Instead, it's a turnover in Wolverine basketball. Leaded

(01:12:32):
by six, eight ten to go bounce to Beasley, got
a big height advantage and then they double inside, laying
off a beautiful feed by Beasley to reed Beerman and
Beerman converts.

Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
We have great pass by Beasley. He didn't tell me
about that part of his game.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
And they're on Bierman after this one forty nine forty one,
eight minutes to go, time out on the floor on
Fox Sports nine to twenty. Welcome back to Waterford Union
High School. As the Wolverines have an eight point lead
against mcguanago. They're tied for the lead in the Southern

(01:13:13):
Lakes Conference battle against Wastocia Central will decide that conference
in a week. Today, a non conference game that we're
being treated to. Great clothes so far for Waterford. However,
they got eight minutes to finish it with an eight
point lead, and they get whistled for a loose ball
foul as mcguanago has it and it's swatted away as

(01:13:36):
Jace Brechtel sent that Caleb Polling layup ice pack up
into the air and up into the front court. Reid
Berman finds himself another layup. He converts it and then
it's a travel ninety feet away.

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
Peyton poll now travels into the press and mcguanago's benches
beside themselves.

Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
Boy from that time out with two and a half
to go in the first half. Waterford just they've really
kind of owned this game.

Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Haven't they.

Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
Josh Hayden called for a reaching file as it looked
like he was poking that pass away, the Waterford student
section getting.

Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
Very loud to our right.

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Mguanago student section got a warning to our left and
a little bit quieter than they were earlier. On seven
thirty three to play whistle before the free throws official
going over to the scores table for a possible stat correction,
possible clarification.

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Now he said, we're ready to roll on the side.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Oh, whistle on the side. So they were clarifying the
amount of team files. That was a sixth team file
on Mguanago, so no one in one Mike, I gotta
love the initiative that the Wolverines took. They all just
started lining up right righters, like, yeah, no, it's a
one on one, let me shoot.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
I'm to shoot at a one and one.

Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
Gustafsen gives it over to Dashner, dribble, handoff to Lapisto.

Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
Gustopson works on Hayden.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Twenty two against twenty two each have been fantastic shooting
from beyond the ark Gustafson, let's Hayden clear and then
banks that twelve foot are off the glass and in
and the largest lead for either team tonight now for
Waterford at fifty three forty one left side, right hand

(01:15:29):
converted for mcguanago. As that finish comes for Jake Brunish
and quickly back to a ten point advantage for Waterford.

Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
What does mcguanago have to do to say again, a
couple of stops here, give up one look, but you've
got to be able to get a lot of guys
on help side.

Speaker 3 (01:15:48):
Red Bierman misses that three footer off the glass, but
a loose ball foul against mcguanago, and it's gonna be
against Brunish now at fall seven yep, And now Ryan
Dashner does get to shoot that one in one that
he thought he was gonna get just before.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
Now, pretty big free throws here as Dashner knocks down
the first yeh. Like if I told you he was
just four of eleven from the charity stripe coming into
the night's game.

Speaker 3 (01:16:23):
I think he's spent a little time in the gym.

Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
That last troke looked pretty good, and I was gonna
say that form you know, after I said that he's
breaking this one, right, you.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
Would assume or that touch only nylon and give his
team a twelve point lead. Once again. His mom's crying.
She's so happy. I told you could hit two in
a row, honey. So good for him, Good for him.
Those are big throws for Ryan Dashner and was six

(01:16:51):
thirty to go. Mgwanago desperately needs a score. Stops score
as Carl there's the score, hands it off to Gruel,
who powers his way off the glass and d gets
an A and one opportunity, and at fifty five forty five,
that just might be the swing of momentum that they're
looking for.

Speaker 4 (01:17:10):
Well, we're about a minute and a half into that
really important three minute stretch that we had talked about.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
They have not cut the lead at all.

Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
They get they if they can hit this free throw
and get it to within nine, then a couple of
stops defensively, they gotta go back to doing what they're
doing at the beginning of the game, turning Waterford over.
Being able to tap a couple of offensive rebounds and
hit some trees well.

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
Or Gruel misses that and one opportunity, but an offensive
board for Mgwanago. Now a foul against Jamison Beasley for
Waterford is gonna be the sixth or seventeen foul on
the home team, So it's gonna be a one to
one opportunity.

Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
Now for Peyton poll nine a lot of free throws
the rest of the way both teams. It was six
sixteen to go. There's a lot of time, yes, with
the amount of free throws. They're gonae and he misses
off front iron. Carrol's pumped a three off Polling's offensive rebound.
He had to try to save it does out just
in front of his own bench. But now it's a
five on four racing opportunity for Waterford. Gustafson fakes the

(01:18:14):
three bounces to Beasley. Looks like the objective to slow
it down for Waterford is on kicks over to Lapisto,
wide spacing on the offense. Here for Gustafson, that ball
is nearly taken away by Hayden.

Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
It's loose into the back court. Body's hit the floor.
Foul gonna be against I believe Jack Carroll's.

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Or will it Yeah? That is on Carroll's He came
flying in, took out the legs there of Lapisto and
Lapistol is gonna go to the line.

Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
For a one to one two football programs right playing basketball,
and there's a loose ball.

Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
We had about five guys ball, Yeah, my ball. The
Pisto knocks down the first What happens at the bottom
of those fumble tros. No one wants to know. Nobody
wants you to know. Nobody wants to know. You've been
at the bottom of a few of those. Yeah. I
didn't always come up with it though, tried anything we could.
Dad a boy, a boy, did you say please? Or never?

(01:19:20):
Never had him never? Never.

Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
Luckily, nobody really wore the middle bar, so you're able
to get the two fingers in there.

Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
Who said that? Come on, Beckett, that ball is a
foul on the drive. I believe that, trust me. I
know all the grandkids.

Speaker 4 (01:19:36):
He's the one right there that'll figure out how to
get the fumble good.

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
He's got a bit tougher the most.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
Kids he plays against, doing a great job keeping this book.
As Peyton poll now is going to go to the
foul line and Mike, you're right, there's gonna be a
lot of free throws to end this game. Pull now
missing the front end of this one and one as well,
missing back to back trips. Man back to back trips.
They've missed the front end of the one and one.

(01:20:01):
Last one came off an and one mess Beasley trying
to cross over Polling thirty five forty feet away. But
they're using the whole half court with this because stops
and drives a finger rolls it off the iron. It
in mcgwanago, now trailing it by fourteen with five minutes

(01:20:22):
to go. They led this game fourteen to four, and
it looked like they might shoot the lights out in Instead,
they've turned the ball over consistently in the second half,
have scored just nineteen points, and now trail it by
fourteen fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
Nine forty five with just under five to go. You're
at Waterford. You know, these reps have been very consistent tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
It's a physical game out both sides, but they're letting
these teams play a little bit, and I kind of
like that. I'm a big fan of being consistent, Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
How difficult is this now?

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
If you're Mgwanago and you're on that coaching staff, is
your team's three straight. They came in here, had a
big lead and now that one makes it a sixteen
point advantage. As Jace Brechtel hits a back door lay
in wild pass over to Carrol's he'll try a three,
he'll miss it off front iron La Pistol will get
the loose ball and it's gonna be a tie up

(01:21:17):
jump ball. It'll stay here with Waterford. You know, you
lose three straight, right. It starts with a one point
loss to Sussex. Then you get beat by Arrowhead on
Valentine's Day. They're heartbreakers there, and then you get blown
out by Ketl Moraine here tonight. You get a big
lead and then nothing goes right in the middle ten
minutes of the game. How difficult is that on the.

Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
Bench, Well, you know what, you can't let it. You
play Meskeigo tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
You got two more conference games on Sunday, the brackets
come up, so you want to get that one on
Friday against his skego to make sure that you you know, yeah,
people are well, look it's a machine now, but you
need to get one win here to make sure you're
not down at the bottom of that that whole region,
you know, And I think that it's important for this

(01:22:02):
coaching staff to go in the locker room if they
end up losing this game, and it looks to me
like they might to say, look, boys, get in the bus,
let's get something you forget about.

Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
Let's get ready for your skigo. It's not conference game,
no big deal. But you're right inside in this staff
is trying to figure out how do we stop the
bleed in the here.

Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
And it's a difficult time to have your worst stretch
of the season. However, you've seen teams do it. You've
seen teams rebound from it. But it's a tough spot.
Jamison Beasley was fouled on the other end.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
He gets a one in one, knocks down the first
mixing a seventeen point game. He's a good player. Beasley's
a pretty good player. Glad you listened to him. Yes,
came out here for the game. Yeah, I didn't ask ye,
I didn't believe he was. He was gonna be as
good as you told me he was. He missed a
free throw there, missed that free throw off back iron.

Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
However, their loose ball rebound on the offensive side comes
back to Waterford. What plagued them in the first half
was turnovers behind the three point arc and giving up
offensive rebounds. It's been one of the big reasons why
they've taken a commanding lead here in the second half.

Speaker 4 (01:23:06):
And again spread the floor. They'll take a lay up
when they get it. Yeah, they're taking taking a little time,
a lot of time, and using a lot of space
here in the offensive zone. Gustavson has it with three
forty five to go, working against Hayden and Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:23:20):
They are in no rush now and this is the
you know, a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
Of coaches throughout the state are waiting for that thirty
second shot clock, and this would be the reason.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
Lapisto kicks off to Gustafson, who had a wide open three,
instead pumps it and more time coming off beasley dribble
hand off. He tried to get it to the block
to Brechtel and instead it's a turnover for Waterford. However,
they drain off almost a full minute as those free
throws came at the four nineteen mark. Now there's three

(01:23:50):
thirty to go. I'd be right there with you for
the thirty second shot clock, would you. Yeah, Yeah, missed
that three. It's just the bottom of a nylon for
mcgwanago and the pistol has it three on one racing
in Bierman and one wow taking advantage of a three

(01:24:13):
on one break boy foul against Luca Tests And it's
soaking in here on well both student section sides as
the party is kind of starting here for Waterford and
the mcgonago student section looks like it might be filing
out here pretty soon. Beasley's grandfather's down in the corner

(01:24:35):
with the beard on and he's got his hands up
and he's telling his grandson he's doing a good job.
I think Bierman knocks down that one. And how about
Reed Berman plays eleven games, came into the night's game
four of five on field goal attempts.

Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
There you go best in the state again, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
His season high of two in either one of his games,
and instead he tonight comes in with a big second
half and has seven points here in the second half.
They're leading it by a commanding seventeen point lead. And
when you get contributions from guys like that Mike, it's contagious.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Mcguadaco half court.

Speaker 4 (01:25:21):
They're trapping everything they can and trying to get Waterford
to turn the ball over.

Speaker 2 (01:25:26):
The problem with that you give up playoffs when you
do that. Yeah, and Bierman has that one swatted away
by Caleb Poling.

Speaker 3 (01:25:33):
Bierman thought he was gonna get another one there.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
As mentioned, the student section starts filing out. There's some
good words being exchanged by both sides.

Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Always fun. I think Waterford saying thanks for coming to
our town. Oh stopping her get some popcorn on the
way out. Yeah, might be discounted at this time of
the night.

Speaker 2 (01:25:54):
Gustavson has it forty feet away and didn't anticipate this
kind of offensive outburst for for Waterford against mcgwanaga here
in this app and it not coming from Gustavson, right,
I agree with that.

Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
But he's I'll tell you what he's done, a nice
job of taking what they give him. Yeah, a good
point and not forcing anything.

Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
A kid that's averaging, you know, thirty a game the
last couple of weeks, and.

Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
There you go, speaking of the devil. He gets an
A one because he drives it right through the painted area,
finishes it. He'll get the and one opportunity. We gotta
start thinking about our US ring player of the game.
It can be tough. I might let you decide, because

(01:26:42):
Gustafa the Beasley.

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
I think both either one is either one is gonna
be good. Gustavson with twenty two can make it twenty three. However,
I mean Jameson Beasley is the reason why we're here.
Hard to not give that young man the not here. However,
you've interviewed him and it seems like all of his
other teammates, So.

Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
Yeah, I think depends on who we're gonna go. I
think go bring him on up.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Gustavson checks out with those twenty three. Is both team's
gonna empty the benches here. Waterford gets a turnover and
Jamison Beasley gonna walk it across the front court. Call
a time out, Well, Waterford to hit a substitution.

Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
And we'll take a we won't take a time out.
Looks like they're gonna keep it right here.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
As celebration on that far side, dejection on the mcgwanago side.
They started this game about as well as you could
and instead just didn't do enough of the little things
Mike in that middle ten to twelve minutes of the
game to lock this thing up.

Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, and I think Waterford did
some really you know again, a couple of tweaks, a
couple of things. I taking care of the ball and
boxing people out and not giving up second looks, and
that's what turned the game.

Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
You know this team is that lay in comes from
Cayden Schickner. Cayden Schickner makes that lay in.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
This is one of those moments, Mike, where you sit
here for a team like Waterford because they get to
race up into the front court off of steal, no
good foul comes on the put back, they'll get two
free throws. Will the Waterford Wolverines. I mean a team
that's lost one game since December fifth, right, they're not

(01:28:35):
necessarily lacking for a ton of confidence. But when you
sit here and you get a victory over a Division
one team, you know, the one two. I don't know
how much the kids look at that, but I know
they do right and matters to some of them.

Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
What kind of confidence is this going into the weekend
and going into next week here? For Waterford to be
able to pull.

Speaker 4 (01:28:54):
Down it's huge, to be honest with you, You get
you and your grove now tomorrow and you want to
carry this into that and then you get you play
for a conference championship and you know two weeks before
the season starts that your goal what's our goal, Let's
win the conference championship.

Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
They got a chance to do that they will as.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
They will take on Waistosia Central coming up here to
wrap up the regular season for Waterford, as they got
a seventy to fifty one lead. Final minute ticks down,
we will have our US Marine Corps player of the game.
As if I can get Joe the extent to look
at her phone, I think he might have to go

(01:29:33):
down there and grab him here and Vick shill, Yeah,
I think that might be the time.

Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
Luckily we got some time to be able to finish
this off. Seventy to fifty three. Final couple of seconds
tick down for Waterford as Dominic Cohen gets himself a
lay in. Always love for these last substitutions. Is that
rainbow three drops down for your boy Oliver Moss love

(01:29:59):
being a able to make sure that everybody gets there
day in the sun. Oliver dropped down a big triple,
made it seventy two to fifty six. Time'm gonna tick
off and finish off this one for the Waterford Wolverines.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
What a close.

Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
They ride a twelve twelve oh run to close out
the first half and race away from the mcguantago Indians.
Our final score here tonight's seventy two to fifty six
Waterford Wolverines taking down the mcguanago Indians. We'll have our
Player of the game coming up on the other side
of the high school basketball Game of the Week presented

(01:30:36):
by your local Picking Save Stores and Metro Market Stores,
only on Fox Sports nine twenty in your iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
Welcome back to Waterford Union High School.

Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
As the finish here for the Wolverines goes way to
the home team seventy two to fifty six the final
as we are ready to name our Player of the game,
brought to you by the US Marine Corps, a few
the Proud the Marines, and Mike mcgibbern. I feel like
it's all very apropos very fitting for our player of
the game to be the reason why we are at
this game.

Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Here's a billy one hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (01:31:11):
So look our Pick and Save student after the week
a couple of weeks ago. So he's not just a
really good athlete and good basketball player, but a good
student athlete. When he was in studio, he said, come on, coach,
get come down and watch his play.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
We're not bad.

Speaker 4 (01:31:25):
And I said, okay, he goes, no, I'm telling you
we're pretty good. You should coach see his play. I said,
I heard you the first time, and then the fourth time.
He said, maybe he used to do a game on
the air with us. I said, let me see what
I can do. Jamison, well done, gratulations. Look you told me,
he said, Look, we're a pretty good second half team.
What you did tell me is the last two and
a half minutes the first half, you guys take took

(01:31:45):
full control of a sudden you're down fourteen something like that,
all of a sudden it's tied or so at halftime,
and completely took over the second half. Man, I enjoy
your game. You know what defensively you get after a
little bit. Yeah, you pass the ball, handle the ball,
you shoot the ball, and and Cayden can shoot it.

Speaker 1 (01:32:03):
You're right, Yeah, he's he's Hey, he's been hitting threes
since forever, man, since third grade, and you don't see
many third graders throw up threes. He's been shooting it
for forever. He's been shooting well too. Just to get
him flowing, we get him going a little bit. First
time they came out hit four threes. Good, great shooting team.
Like I said, they're gonna be physical. The guy in
our grill. Yeah, we missed some quick bunnies like we

(01:32:25):
normally finish. I had a few Jays, had a few
Ryan too. Ryan's normally money.

Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:32:29):
Anytime I passed the ball, I think it's going in.

Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
So well, he dropped one down here you started laughing, like, man,
that might have been made me my best pass of
the game.

Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
What are you doing here?

Speaker 4 (01:32:39):
What I enjoyed was, look, your coaching staff took a
time out, went to that one three one wasn't working
with about three minutes ago, took another time out. You
guys are turning the ball over and giving up a
lot of offensive rebounds, and you cleaned it all up
and took over. I'm sure that was a conversation you
guys had.

Speaker 3 (01:32:56):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:32:56):
It's a lot of the players who talked to and
who takes control and gus were ready like, hey, our
zone is not really working right now, let's get into man.
I was stuck in Man, stay with him. We knew
they were going to crash the boards. We didn't know
how much though, So once they crashed and we got
the rebounds, Uh, it was wide open lengths from there.
Fast break was very open. Gus got to the floor.
I was like, hey, I get this rebound, hit the floor,

(01:33:17):
just go Yeah, you're probably gonna get a layup out
of this. There's no way they're going to keep up
with us. They're sending every guy was there.

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:33:23):
I mean it's a long rebound, a long three. You
should be run up the court. It's gonna be easy
pass for me. He stat my assistant, Yeah, man, that
you know what you did.

Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
I don't know if he had a double, maybe a
triple double, thato'd be pretty sweet.

Speaker 4 (01:33:33):
Yeah, because I think we had you down for ten
or eleven boards. I don't know how many assists, but
it had to be six or seven.

Speaker 1 (01:33:39):
I would say, yeah, five to seven around there. Problem
if Jay's had.

Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
That little yeah, I know that that would have gotten
you over.

Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
The should have passed a little bit better, should him?

Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
And charge Vader g hear what what he's talking about
right now?

Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
He has yet very little as he talked about himself,
talked about his teammates. He talked about venning is a team,
rebounding is a team, and telling his player, if.

Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
You get down the floor, I'll get you the ball man.

Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
That's exactly what the mission of the US Marine Corps is, right,
it's it's bigger than yourself.

Speaker 5 (01:34:07):
No, no, absolutely, yeah, I mean that's not I gret
to hear because I mean we came about to the
person that left the front of us. I mean at
the end of the day, like as long as it's
like the guys are left the right taking care of you,
I mean, you know that you're gonna do the right thing.

Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
So yeah, it's definitely awesome. Hey, I got it.

Speaker 4 (01:34:21):
Look, I'm gonna I told you this before when you
came up and we talked before you guys, get ready
to play this game. And I'm gonna say it again,
do not look past Union Grove tomorrow. Don't do it
because you know what, you create big opportunities, right, kind
of like the movie Miracle.

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
You get big opportunities by taking care of your business,
and you need to do that.

Speaker 4 (01:34:40):
Don't be looking at that next game. I know at
the beginning of the year, our goal is the team
is always to win the conference. Guys got a chance
to do that, but you gotta go get this one tomorrow.
And Union Grove gave you everything. They had last time,
and you're a senior on this team. I would tomorrow
make sure at lunch time or during class to go
over and say, hey, let's make sure we're ready to

(01:35:01):
play tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:35:02):
Yeah, it's a big one. They came out guns and
blazing on Wednesday, had a great game yesterday versus Beloit.
They looked strong. They pulled me. Normally I don't come out.
They pulled me because hey, like, we'd like to save
your legs a little bit for tomorrow because we've got
a big game tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
So yeah, well I watched you three times.

Speaker 4 (01:35:18):
You got up and started walking to the scores table,
where a coach grabbed you and pushed your.

Speaker 1 (01:35:22):
Back right not yet, not Yeah, let's get your legs
senior night.

Speaker 3 (01:35:25):
Come on, man, I got a family here.

Speaker 4 (01:35:27):
Look, we couldn't get you up in the classroom we're
in because you were down there shaking hands, kids and babies,
taking pictures, signing autographs, and I love that. Have you
take a look at at the regional sectional guy, any
kind of idea where you guys might might end up.

Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Yeah, we should be the number one seed with our record.

Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
So just so you know, my my co host, his
cousin is a junior on the Witnow basketball girls team.

Speaker 6 (01:35:54):
Though, okay girls, and that's okay if they do well. Right, Yeah,
you guys are you guys are puper fan. They took
they got you last year. Yes, you got him once
this year, but you got it without me. You gotta believe,
you gotta believe that that's where that might end up
for sure. You know you think you guys might get
the one.

Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
Huh. Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
I think either that more New berlind West should be
the two or three seed.

Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:36:16):
I believe Burlinton is going to be the four or five,
depending on whatever. So we'll have, uh, we'll have crosstown
rivalry back at our place, probably first round. So I
should be pretty excited with having Burlington. I mean, that's
always a good game.

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
Yeah, you don't like that much, but they're they're good.

Speaker 1 (01:36:30):
Guys, the guys that don't like losing. So I didn't
like I didn't like playing them the last three years.
So this is the first year I beat him, and
I don't play them to not beat him.

Speaker 4 (01:36:39):
A Kain Jamison when you were in studio, I asked you,
I said, tell me about your game, and you said, man,
you got that smirk, that that million dollars smile you got,
and you said, you know what, I can play a
little bit. But let me tell you about Caden Man,
he shooting the ball. Let me tell you about this kid.
I would love to coach a kid like you. And
I'll tell you why you handle the ball. You to

(01:37:00):
fend like crazy, you get every loose ball, and I'm
not quite sure you use your body really well.

Speaker 3 (01:37:05):
We're getting called for a couple of those two. You
know that physical game.

Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
They play physical.

Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
We did too.

Speaker 4 (01:37:12):
I like these and they were very consistent, very good guys,
very very consistent and letting that whole thing go.

Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
And I I appreciate that real close on the foul
calls to everything was pretty even up to it.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Where are you going next year?

Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
Either between Wayne State and Maryvale? Are ones in Saint Louis?
Wants in the Troy both d two basketball programs.

Speaker 4 (01:37:32):
Yeah, so in case you want to stay close to
the home, Billy Schmid's telling telling you right now, Carroll
Carrol's not a bad place.

Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
Yeah go Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:37:44):
Yeah, and trust me, you'd look great in those colors,
is what he's saying. And if you and look, if
if college isn't for you, serge you better. You got
the idea, don't you.

Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:37:55):
Absolutely yeah, we have a ton of opportunities to He'll
be out with your education as well.

Speaker 4 (01:37:59):
There you go, and he's our Pick and Saved student
athlete the Week from a couple of weeks ago. What
I loved about it, and one of the main reasons
I wanted to get down here is it was this
blizzard that night. It was it was snow, and I
thought it was gonna be him and I at the
Pick and Save and Waterford.

Speaker 3 (01:38:13):
I'd get the pictures, get out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:38:15):
I left like four minutes ago because his grandfather, I'm
telling you, your grandfather is the one the really nice
man I've ever met. We stayed in that picket Save
and talked for another half hour. I finally looked outside
and said, I gotta go home. He said, live really close.

Speaker 3 (01:38:28):
I go. I live in Milwaukee.

Speaker 4 (01:38:29):
It took me about an hour and a half to
get home, and it was so worth it. There was
thirty five to forty people that came out to support you,
young man, for you what you do in this community
and those kids, and I'm telling you, it touched my
heart because here you are, your big man on campus, right,
you're a good student athlete, and these people all came
out in a snorts storm so they could get a

(01:38:51):
picture with you with with that that trophy that picket
Safe gives. And what that tells me is, not only
are you a really good student athlete a great basketball player,
but you're a leader in the school, leader in the community.
And uh Sydney, who's saying and now she's gonna be
one of our superheroes current electors. I asked you about
you and she goes JB. One of the just one
of the greatest guys here. And so that's awesome and

(01:39:13):
I love doing that. Congratulations senior night. Great win against mcguanago.
Go take care of the Broncos for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:39:21):
Yeah, not I can pass them at all. Should be
a great game. I'm excited. It's always a fun time
going there. Hopefully we have the same amount of as
students tomorrow. It's a Friday night. Nobody's got nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
To do, so we got a pretty good last question.
Who in the student section were you talking? Do you
smile in it?

Speaker 1 (01:39:35):
That's gonna be my guy, Robbie down there. Robbie plays golf.
He's on the a little bit to the left, standing
next dash. There's Canada pocket right there.

Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Robbie. Which Robbie's last night Myers. Real good golfer.

Speaker 1 (01:39:47):
Robbie Myers going to Eastern Kentucky to go.

Speaker 4 (01:39:49):
Yeah, I see your mom down there too. Yeah, yeah,
you tell you, tell Robbie that I'll play. Well, we'll
play nine, but I need to get a stroke on
each of the but we'll have to go there, can
go sometime, Robbie Myers. Let's see the swing Robbie Myers.
Now he's got nothing that I've never broke fifty. He's
got to give me like seventeen shots on the front times.

Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
Winter State three times last since freshman year. So we're
hoping he brings it home. This year's sensational team. No,
I'm terrible. They're trying to get me to go out
all about the basketball guys are playing. They said, I
can be the JV two demon.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
There there you go. You know what, if nothing else,
you can drive the cart right.

Speaker 1 (01:40:26):
Well, that's what I do for Robbie. At this point,
I can't golf very well. We'll go to the range.

Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
Can he hit jumpers? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:40:33):
He used to be a sensation. He played basketball last
year with those great player just really good at golf
and didn't want to get way.

Speaker 3 (01:40:39):
Who's the tall guy.

Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
That's cold Cole goes askego So he hates mcgonaga.

Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
I know, I know Cole. I know Cole. No, no,
you're not coming up here. No, I've watched cold play
talk with Cole.

Speaker 1 (01:40:50):
He's a smooter, he can.

Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
Yeah, he's down there. He's trying to talk to some.

Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
Of the doesn't go close to my mom.

Speaker 4 (01:40:56):
Right, he's talking to some of the Waterford girl. So
you've better, you've better getting back to Meskigo. Sergeant Batter,
thank you so much. Thank you for you understand why
he's our our US marine players. Absolutely yeah, absolutely yeah.
I saw him play out there. Yeah, you did a
phenomenal job.

Speaker 1 (01:41:10):
Appreciate it. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:41:11):
Bet Hey, it's good to see you. Good luck to
rest away.

Speaker 1 (01:41:13):
I hopefully you can catch maybe next week, uh playoffs, playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:41:18):
If we're not here, maybe I'll come down.

Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
Well if that's the window game, are gonna want to
see that.

Speaker 3 (01:41:22):
One man that would be here too, wouldn't it Probably not?

Speaker 1 (01:41:25):
Yes, yes, because we're the first regions.

Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
Yeah, if not, maybe over at Whitefish Bay something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:41:31):
Is either Greenfield or Park there. I'm not looking past
an again of that.

Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Don't do any of that.

Speaker 4 (01:41:39):
You know what I taught you that didn't exactly Yeah,
