(00:00):
As Filmo. Mike from one Osix point one came Yale. We're in
the billing right now with Godfrey.Who would be at the San Jose Improv
this Friday and Saturday night March eighthand March ninth. Godfrey, Man,
what's up, brother? How youdoing? What's up? I'm good,
I'm good. You know, I'msaying looking forward to coming to Santos.

(00:22):
They haven't been there about I thinkthree four years. I usually I've been
going there for a few years. But after COVID, I guess, you
know, they've been regrouping, andI guess they're back to doing their thing.
You know, yeah, exactly, exactly. Man, it's been a
while man. Like I said before, I'm a huge fan of yours,
man, and like you said, you've been coming here for a while.

(00:45):
Now. What's your what's your favoritecity to party in? Within the I
mean, you know, to performat within the Bear because San Jose has
its own style, you know,Frisco has its own style, and of
course Oakland has its own style aswell. So what's your favorite area to
perform in? If you don't mindme accent, uh, I like to
I think Cobbs Cobs in San Francisco'sone of my favorite places. You know,

(01:10):
But I uh, San Jose wasfun, you know until COVID,
But yeah, San Francis. Cobbsin San Francisco is a really good club.
I never do Oakland because I don'tthink Oakland has a comedy club.
But I like, I like hangingout. I go to party in Oakland.
Got you got you? What's yeah? I know what you're saying,

(01:32):
man, for real, for real, I'll see you. Was you god?
For you was going off? Iseen you on the vlat TV and
you was going off on white people. Man, you like a forbitten ring.
I mean, it depends on whatthe subject is. I go off
on whatever, you know, itreally depends that. Sometimes people say you
go up on white people. Isaid, I just don't go off on

(01:53):
white people for no reason. Imean, first of all, I don't
hate. My friends are from everywalk of life. But if it's a
specific thing they're talking about, ifit's racism and it's a specific thing,
I will address it. I'm notdoesn't mean I'm going yeah, white people
are no good. No, Idon't do that. It's like if a
certain incident happened, and it happenedto be the black white situation. I

(02:15):
will address it. It could bean Asian person being right, I will
address it. You know, I'msensible in my rants. I'm sensible for
what I talk about. I don'tjust I'm not just some angry black dudes
just to know white people. There'swhite people that I just call out what
I see. That's all. Definitelyyou definitely don't discriminate, man. Like
I said, it's film of lifeone cam Yale. We got Godfrey,

(02:38):
the legendary comedian in a billing. Can I ask you a question? Did
you feel left out when you wasn'twhen Cat Williams didn't mention you in the
beginning of the year. No,not at all, man, I need
to think of it like that.Maybe some other comedians felt left out,
but because you know, Kat brokeinternet records with clubs, but not still

(03:00):
left out. I was just entertained, and I'm like, is some of
this fake or real? I justthought it was kind of entertaining because Cat's
very entertaining and he's always an interestingperson, you know. I like his
comedy and he shook up he sohe just shook up twenty twenty four.
Man, he put his scattering andchecking himself man, for real. I

(03:24):
just liked that he had people checkingthemselves, checking like, oh, he
was a lot of stuff It wastrue. A lot of stuff maybe was
false and a little exaggerated, butyou know, it was fun to watch.
Definitely fun to watch. Man.It definitely have people checking themselves trying
to get their things in order. For sure. Are you critical of comedians?

(03:45):
If a comedian asked you, like, man, what's you think of
my comedy? Would you be like, Man, you suck. I mean,
if they asked me a question, you know out you know, I
can dispress my opinion. But there'syou know, there's anybody that's into the
who's been in the game for along time. It's gonna critique people who
come into it. You're gonna critiqueit all the time. I critique myself,

(04:06):
you know what I'm saying. Soyeah, it's like, yeah,
you do. That's normal. Likebasketball players talk smack to basketball players.
You know, musicians talk smack toother musicians. Say oh, he can't
play guitar. You don't even knowhow to play guitar. It's the same
thing. There's a lot of Ialways feel there's a lot of bombs in
comedy. You know, there's alot of people who got specials that shouldn't

(04:29):
be happening, specials that ignore realmen. The men and women that have
the skills and the funny and theyou know and the stage time are not
getting specials. And I critique thatsometimes, you know, it's just normal
to do that, you know whatI'm saying, right right? Definitely,
yeah, real quick, do youhave any like bay Area ties or connection

(04:50):
with the history besides just performing outhere? No? Not really, just
my connection to Bay Area was justforerformance. That's got you. Okay,
you don't have family out here oranything like that, and help me.
I'm sorry about that, as Ididn't hear in my background you can't repeat

(05:11):
that. I'm sorry. Oh,comedy has brought me to the Bay Area.
Comedy has brought me all around Americaand overseas. That's comedy, you
know. So yeah, my tieshave been from performing and then meeting people,
connecting with people and showing up,you know, going past ten years
coming to the Bay Area. Somy connection comes from performance, you know,

(05:34):
and making friends from that. Definitely. One of my favorite movies and
I didn't even know I liked itat the time. You probably know where
I'm going with soul playing. Likewhen I first hit I'm like, what
the hell is this? But thenas I started to watch it, I
started to love soul play being reallyfunny. Huh, so the thing is

(05:55):
really funny. It's just if youtake it seriously, you're you're stupid,
right, because it's just a comedy. It's a spoof, that's all it
is. You know. I enjoyedfilming with Snoop Doggs. That was I
had a lot of fun. Andit's just a It's just a spoof,
man, that's it. Yeah, just a comedy, and people really enjoy
it now they really look back andgo, this was really funny. I

(06:18):
like, yeah, you know, that's all it is, is a comedy,
man, right, that's it.You know, you get high or
whatever you want to do with yourfriends and watch it, laugh and go
go to bed, you know, right, speaking again, high You don't
get high, Godfrey, do you? When you come to the bad You
know, we got some of thebest. Nah. I don't really,
I don't really do any of that, nah man. I tried that just

(06:41):
nah, it ain't mean man,I don't really. You know what I'm
saying. I don't. I don'tenjoy coughing for no reason. You know.
If I'm a cough let it bebecause I'm sick and I earned it.
I'm just not gonna force one.I got you, I got you.
You know what I'm saying. Idon't. I don't need forced bronchi
or for bro right you. Ifit's go happen, let it happen like

(07:06):
this healthy and nothing happening. Idon't need nothing for us. Man,
you you you you speaking of health. You are Hella healthy, my brother.
We say hell in the bad.If you don't know you are a
Hella healthy. I know. Iheard a Hella Hella is old suit.
Okay for sure, some people don'tknow. I have to just do a
ghetto hella hell of yeah, ofcourse. It's like saying in New York

(07:29):
you say, man, yo,that's crazy, dope, Yes, you
dumb healthy right now? Yeah?Yeah man, yeah no. I try
my best to be as healthy asI can. I ain't perfect, but
I would say eighty twenty like.I try to eat clean and I take
supplements. I'm in the gym.You know, I've been doing that for
years. Man, Man, Iseen that, bro, you used to

(07:51):

You might hear some stuff the same, but stuff some stuff, but it's
never the same, you know whatI mean. But I just talk about
