Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you were going to beat a top five team
in their house, what would the formula be for that?
Kevin and I were a part of a massive victory
in twenty seventeen over the Ohio State Buck Guys. It
was in Kinnick that helped. But we're going to talk
about the three factors that the Hawk Gys absolutely need
to steal one in the shoe. We have a bunch
of conversation before that as well. Game talk starts about

(00:22):
forty mats. Let's have a day. Let's go that fired

(00:53):
that thing up today? Charged it Pokemon? Kinley is playing
Pokemon or your plant Pokemon?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I am playing pokem Okay you should that. That's how
we see what he uh yeah, he's got a new
tips for you.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well, I'm pretty well versed in the Pokemon as well.
I haven't competed like he has, but uh, I'm decent.
I'm decent. I like to I like to follow along
on with YouTube videos. That's fair. Welcome in everybody. This
is what the wash Up walk Ons podcast is now.
Ohio State Week starts, starts the part of the little Pokemon. Kevin,

(01:28):
how are we doing doing?

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Fan freaking fantastic?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Who's your favorite Pokemon, Kevin, it's bigger you. That's Bigga.
It's clip very far one of the better, great great
may Pokemon's older than Grant.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Probably it's probably older than you guys as well.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I believe it was ninety nine, Is it really? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I know, I know there's the I see it on
Twitter all the time, like a sneaky fun fact that Nintendo.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
It's like a crazy old company. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, they were like Nintendo's over one hundred years old
or something like that.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Oh that old huh.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, they were doing something else for a while. Now
they're obviously in the different industry.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
But I mean that, I don't think canheld games became
a thing until like the Yeah, Nintendo's been around since
eighteen eighty nine. Eighteen eighty nine.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
What were they doing? What? What was Nintendo doing in
World War Two? I need to know.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
In World War two?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I need what were they doing from nineteen thirty one
to forty five?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
We might uncover something here. They were probably like an.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Ambulation stuff that they don't want us to know about.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
They were an ammunition company for the This was not
in Oppenheimer, So I'm not I'm not sure get into
World War two. keV on on taglines the Patreon exclusive
podcast not not to pump the Patreon but patroon dot
com slash washing porkuns. No uh, no shame plug there, uh,
Kevin or Grant and I got into, uh a great

(03:00):
discussion about the Mason Dixon line and the Compromise of
eighteen fifty. Yeah, oh yeah, basically cast basically we were
learning about it.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
It's no evidence, there's no actual facts.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
The poor fans who are just watching you learn about
the Yeah, the compromise at eighteen fifty.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
That is exactly, that's one hundred percent true. It was
funny though. I think we were pretty funny about it.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Anyway, I think fun and exciting happening in your guys' lives.
As we come off this bye week, we get into
a little Ohio State week. Are you guys refreshed off
the bye? You guys feel good?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Bye weekend was good. I think I think that the
players needed I think the fans needed too, a little
uh you know, like Grant said, sometimes you just need
an off weekend.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
How do you feel about the double bye this week
or this year? Kevin?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I mean it makes sense for the teams that make
the playoffs, right.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You know for sure?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah? And what you you can play up to sixteen
sixteen games, seventeen games now if you, if you like
make it to the conference championship and then only make
it to like the first round to play.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
And you're not one of the first. Yeah, you would
play to get to the to the eight, to the four,
to the two and then play the champion four plus
seven seventeen is that seventeen games? It's at least sixteen, dude,
seventeen games is a lot, man.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, to two by weeks for that sounds about right.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, you absolutely.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Had two by weeks just one year though, like it
was like twenty fourteen. I figured like we had two
by weeks that.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Year, did we? I think?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
So?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I don't remember ever having two bye weeks, But maybe
now that you say that, it does kind of ring
a bell. It does kind of feel like maybe we did.
Our second bye week is going to come after I'm
gonna come, do not come? Uh, it's gonna come after
our UCLA game, So we're gonna have ten games in

(05:00):
so it comes before game five and before game eleven.
Pretty pretty well spread out for us. That's good.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I think they go to UCLA then to Maryland or
the two games where that the by games in between.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yep, I think that's travel. That's pretty good. That is
that is pretty good because, uh, back to back games.
Those are gonna be our two longest trips of the
year and they are back to back, so having a
week off in the middle there is gonna is definitely
gonna steimy that uh that travel sludge whatever you want

(05:34):
to call it. U c L a track game telling
the West Coast go out there. It's gonna be weird,
although kind of cool. I hope it's better than when
we played in the Rose Bowl.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
When was the last time I will one in the
Rose Bowl? Oh? Whatever?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, well it's the maybe the early.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Fifty They lost in nineteen fifty nine, fifty nine.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
There you go, so it would be damn near fifty
years since we've won in a Roseball. We have an opportunity, man,
that's what cow.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Golden Bears in the Rose bul Huh what was the
score of that game?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I'm gonna take thirty eight twelve.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Oh sorry, did.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Mean to spoil it? At is modern day football right there.
That's basically the score of the Oregon UCLA game last weekend.
I thought it was funny how Oregon touted their big win, like,
this is our Big ten conference win against CCLA Big
ten football. What do you guys, uh, what do you
guys think about this? Iowa not Iowa Big ten SEC.

(06:50):
You know, there was once a great alliance started between
the UH PAC twelve and the Big Ten and.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
The A, the ACC. Yeah yeah, that lasted a year, right,
we did a It never even came to fruition, right
because they were promising each other non conference games, and
then the Big ten just kind of poached the PAC
twelve's best teams and then the PAC twelve just kind
of folded as a conference.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
It's crazy to me that, yeah, I'm fairly certain, keV
that not a single actionable thing took place from that alliance,
and like those things don't just you don't just like
call each other and say, hey, you know, be an alliance.
Like there was in person meetings, Like there was work
done amongst athletic directors and like conference big big people

(07:45):
inside the conferences to get that done, and then nothing happens.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
The cynical part of me wants to believe that the
Big ten just wanted to look at some of the
PAC twelve teams books and be like, how profitable would
be for us to steal some of these teams away?

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Cynical or maybe smart?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah, I don't know, just just this cynical, you really did?

Speaker 1 (08:11):
They really need to get an actual look at the
four teams that we got though, Like you could take
a pretty good guess that they were bringing in some cage.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, I don't know, you probably get better look at Like,
I don't know, maybe all that stuffs public anyway, so
maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
This new one would be between the Big ten and
the SEC or SEC so, uh, you know, Big ten
just trying to buddy up. They're trying to date everybody
basically good for the Big ten.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Conferences.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Just a freshman, just a freshman. Uh, that's just trying
to get around and experience life. These are some there's
some conference stereotypes you're throwing around.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
If the SEC does it, it's fine, but when the
Big Ten does it, it's all of a sudden, the
stereotype are flipped.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I don't know. I don't think the SECS tried to
buddy up with any other conferences. We tried to have
an we tried to have a threesome with the with
the PAC twelve, who's not even a thing anymore. They're dead.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
It's revived there there, they're coming back. There, They've got
they got six teams on the line for next year, right, I.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Think there's seven seven with the Gonzaga was in and
then they were they just there, they're in again.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Isn't the PAC twelve just the Mountain West? No, just
the Mountain West.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
You are right saying that, Well, they're the original founding
members I guess.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Or the flagship programs of the PAC twelve. Now, yeah,
kind of.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
And then the I think the Mountain West is taking
they're trying to steal the MAC, which I'm.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Furious about a lot of people were not happy about that.
When the report came out, I don't know, two or
three days ago, people were like, please stop stop it.
This is where we drop is where we drop a line, right,
all the five Big Big five Conferences, Power five, do
whatever you want, but don't touch the Mac.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Please touch my Tuesday Night maction.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Well need our action.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I don't know if there's a more universally liked product,
Like I've never tuned into a college football show where
someone's like, I just hate that Toledo and Ken State
play each other on Tuesday nights. Like I've never heard
that opinion before. Never, no one has ever said that.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
You know, it really grinds my gears. Is when Akron
and ball State are in a tight ball game thirty
eight thirty eight with a minute to go on a Wednesday,
you know.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
The thing is like, A, Yes, you're absolutely correct. Grant,
no one's complaining about that because either you don't care
and you just don't watch it, right, B you do
care that there's football on and you get a chance
to watch football on Tuesday night and see those are
probably the Max's highest rated games as far as as
viewership numbers. One hunt not a whole lot of people

(10:53):
watching on Saturday, right.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Advantage of a time slot that no one else wants.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Well, I don't know if you know this, but starting
I guess today, for the listeners like Thursday, you get
fifty five straight days of football with no braks. And
you know who we have to thank for this? The MAC,
the MAC and Conference USA a.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Little bit, but mostly the MAC. We get to thank
them for this because then, you know, because the NFL
gives us Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. College football gives us Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Thursday, Thursday, Friday.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Saturday, now Tuesday Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
And then Tuesday Wednesday with the action and Conference USA.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
What what is the date where we uh we skip
a day where we don't get football there? Grand, it's
fifty five days from now.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I think it was like fourth.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah, from Thursday, so all right, from October third, you
get basically to the place Thanksgiving. You get to thanks so, yeah,
you get the rest of the football season. You get
until conference championship weekend. Basically, would that not be because
that's the first weekend.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
No U conference championship weekend I believe is Yeah, it's
the first weekend of December. So you have Thanksgiving, You've
got one more game after Thanksgiving, and then conference championship
is next Yeah, next weekend.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
There we go. Okay, fifty five straight days, Thank you, Mac.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
It's a lot of football, man.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
You should put a bet out there, one bet a
day for fifty five days. You think we probably you
think we weren't going to do that five days in
a row.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
It's like that guy, I have to get fifty five
correct in a row. There's no chance of that happening.
I can barely get two correct. You just picked all
minus eight hundred games and you just.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
You start with a penny and you go fifty five
in a row, and I end up with, oh, man,
what is it?

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Oh at thirty? It's like two million dollars compounded interest?

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Well, what's if you have a minus If you can
get a mining a minus one thousand bet and you
can only bet a penny on it, well, sharing return,
like what a tenth of a penny?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Well, I assuming you not here.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
But if you're if you're rocking a plus one hundred,
you know, plus one ten bet.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I think you guys are over over you, guys. I'm
flatter you guys think I can get fifty five that's.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Correct in a row. But I don't think that's happening.
I think you should try.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
It's worth trying. We're gonna try.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
You know what's unfortunate right now. We'll get to this
later too, when we get to the old Awards winner segment.
But I'm locked out of my DraftKings account. It like stopped,
it stopped allowing me to like log in with my
face for some reason. I think I it was when
I went to Nebraska the other day, which I spent
my bye weekend, my bye bye week Saturday, Uh, largely

(13:40):
not watching football because it was and this happened. This happens,
and you have significant others, especially when you have kids,
your ass is gonna find a pumpkin patch. Okay, you're
gonna find a pumpkin patch on a Saturday. And I'm
just thankful it was on bye weekend and so we
found And by the way, I didn't know that pumpkin
patches were so involved like when we were kids, Kevin,

(14:05):
I remember a pumpk the pumpkin patch that I remember
had the patch right where you go grab your pumpkin
and then maybe like the corn pool that you can
like jump in the corn, maybe a corn maze, and
then maybe if it was a really sick pumpkin patch,

(14:26):
you got like a pumpkin launcher. Did you see a
corn pool. Yeah, like there's like a I don't know
what you call it. It's like a you go, it's
like three feet worth of corn and you can go
and like jump in the corn. You never never never
heard of that.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
I've never heard of that. I've never heard of that.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
I don't know if just like bathing in corn. Yeah,
you could tell, absolutely, but it's more like, I don't know,
it's like a big I don't even it's like a stall.
It's like a they you can jump in corn. Yes,
you can go neck deep in corn.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
That's everyone's that's everyone's dream under it.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
And then if the really sick pumpkin patch there was
like a pumpkin sling shot or really cool was a
pumpkin cannon where they load that thing into a cannon
and they shoot it. Uh. Now, we went to Omaha,
Nebraska to see Lauren's sister and some other family and
this pumpkin patch. Dude, there was It was like the

(15:25):
state Fair. It was like you walk in and you
get a map and it looks like you're at Universal Studios.
There was thirty attractions. There was thirty food stands, different
food stands around the place. There's live shows going on.
There's like one hundred and fifty people working this thing.
You can buy merchandise and there's like a hole. It's unbelievable.

(15:47):
There's a train that goes around the outside of it.
They have like I don't know, one hundred acres of land.
It was massive. It's unbelievable. You guys are sitting there like,
clearly you guys haven't been to a pumpkin patch yet.
I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
I don't think I couldn't tell the last time I've
been to a pumpkin patch.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Is Alyssa not going to drag you to a pumpkin patch? Cup?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I don't think we're gonna pumpkin patch this. Maybe we will,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Alyssa seems like a pumpkin patch guy.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
We enjoy a good pumpkin patch, and so does our dog.
Not gonna lie. Yeah, we're october festing this weekend.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Ah now we're talking all right, now we're talking a
little october Fest.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Yah yeah, Now.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
What is what is Octoberfest? It's just like an excuse
to drink more beer.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
October Fest is a German holiday. I think its roots
are in it was originally from Munich. I think it's
something like there was a wedding in like a Bavarian wedding, okay,
back in like the eighteen hundreds, and the king or

(16:50):
lord or something like that through a party for all
his peasants, and they called it october Fest.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Wow. Through a party for the peasants. Huh the first
look at Kevin. This Kevin would have just been just
absolutely scoffing at our conversation about the compromise on on
the old taglines. The first Octoberfest took place in Munich
on October twelfth, eighteen ten, for the commemoration of their
marriage Crown Prince Ludwig the First and Princess Terse of

(17:20):
Sachs Hildeberghausen Jesus Christ namesake of the Jesus. I can't
Teresa and Wes, are you kidding me? Everyone knows this.
It is common knowledge.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Yeah right, Thank god we won World War two because
the hideous language.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
My goodness. They organized a great horse race and then
that's the the blurb of it. I can't see anymore,
but it looks like there was a lot of people
that attended that thing. Good for them. I wonder how
many How I wonder how many wives Old Ludwig had.
Probably more than one. You probably look that up, but yeah, probably.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Anyway, Yeah, now two hundred years later, we're still drinking
beer and they're.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
How about it?

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Yeah? Well with this, Uh, brought's mustard and pretzels. Be
a good day, not.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
A brock guy, I do love pretzels though.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Well you're wrong, and how dare you?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, I was gonna say you are missing out if
you don't like.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Bro Brots are far superior to hot dogs. I'll die
on that hill.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Well they're I mean, it's yeah, they're not even I
don't think you can even compare them. They're two different things.
I mean, hot dogs are just like the bad parts
of that are already off of.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Like, oh, you think you're getting the premium part of
the pig and the brat.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Yeah, all of a sudden you switch be a little bit.
I think you're probably getting a little better slice.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Yeah, they're switching to Filet mignon when you you want
to broad.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Hey, it's Peter Harmon, the food guru, here to talk
about Gray's Gormey to go At, Gray's gore May to Go.
We are madly and passionately in love with three things
chicken lips, pizza, and great food to go. We believe
you want to feed your family something great at home,
but you're too busy with like to stop and cook.
That's why we built Grays Gourmet to Go so the

(19:11):
next time you need to feed the gang and you
don't feel like cooking. Just come to grays Ormey to
Go dot com.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
This is Leopesha and I've been saying hit a deer,
call Premiere for years, but it's time for something new.
It's still where you need to go for deer divots
and door dings as well as damage dashboards. That's what
my dad Nathan's driving at and dreams about. Why not say,
when your car is dinged, be a deer and call Premiere.
I think Dad's going to love that. Premiere Automotive North
Liberty is Premiere Autobody repair Shop.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Be a deer and call Premier Autobody in North Liberty.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Anyway, back to back to this alliance athletic directors from
the Big ten and SEC are set to me. This
is from CBS dot com set to meet in Nashville, Tennessee,
where I'm sure they're ninety percent of the time just
going to go out on their company, you know, on
the on the old athletic Department's cards and just eat
steak dinners next week to discuss potential scheduling alliance and

(20:08):
their preference for automatic bids in future college football playoff formats.
This is a continuation of a partnership between the two
conference giants that stretches back to February, when the Big
Ten in SEC started pushing for a fourteen team playoff model.
When the next contract begins in twenty twenty six. The
two initially pushed for four auto bids apiece and will

(20:30):
likely still fight for that, but the SEC and Big
Ten also countered with a three three two two one
model that would guarantee three spots for each the Big
ten in SEC conferences, including a first round by for
each of the league's respective champion. The Big twelve in
ACC would each get two auto bids, with one guaranteed

(20:51):
spot held for the top ranked group of five champion.
That would leave three at large bids for the next
highest ranked teams that didn't qualify for an auto open.
Talks cooled in June when the ten FBS commissioners and
Notre Dame agreed, there you go with the Notre Dame grant,
always getting to say you know a conference already. Commissioners

(21:12):
and Notre Dame agreed to let the twelve team model
play out this season before having further discussions surrounding the
future of the CFP. As for the scheduling, agreement. Any
moves towards an alliance depend on whether or not the
SEC adopts a nine game conference schedule. Since Big ten
schools already play nine conference opponents each year, some athletic
directors could push back on a scheduling agreement if the

(21:34):
SEC does not follow suit. That's what that article had
to say. Four auto bids for both conferences. They're just
stepping up and saying, hey, we're gonna you know, we're
gonna put fourteen teams in the playoff, right and between
us two we're taking eight. We're taking eight, right and
maybe more?

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, I mean, but I don't.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
I can't say that I disagree. They're probably gonna get
eight every year anyway, more.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Than I don't know, maybe not in the current model
at twelve, but.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
They're definitely gonna get six on a fourteen Yeah, I can't.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
The current landscape of college football and the way the
conferences are aligned, if you go to a fourteen team model,
like eight of your top fourteen are probably gonna be
Big ten or SEC teams.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
How many teams as the SEC have? Do they have fourteen?
They're at sixteen, sixteen, so you have sixteen and eighteen yeah,
which is thirty four teams. Yeah, you're probably yeah, out
of those, out of the those thirty four teams, you're
probably got seven or eight of them that are going
to be top fourteen teams. I mean, that's just the
way it is, especially with those two conferences. You know,

(22:45):
even if you equal the playing field like one for one,
they're still they're like top heavy. Those are they have
the big hitters, like it is what it is. Hey
you join, Hey join the Big Ten or playing on.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
I'd be curious how what they consider their just be
their top four ranked teams in those conferences, like as
the committee ranks them or those like, you know, they
do they develop their own conference championship playoff system, you.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Know, within the conference in the conference to determine their
top four.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, I mean I think it's already. The Big Ten
has so many teams that you can have multiple undefeated
teams and like, okay, which one need throw in there?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
You know. Yeah, I think there's a chance that it's
not gonna happen every year, or even really have a
chance of happening every year. But I do believe Kevat,
You're right. I think there's a chance everyone I mean.
But that's the thing though, is are you here, here's
the real question. Are you going to get three undefeated teams?

(23:43):
Probably not, but because if you get two, then those
two are clearly playing each other, and then one of
them has a loss, right, and then they you know,
you you now know, Okay, two best teams didn't lose
during the regular season. One wins the championship, they're a
conference champion. Here's our clear second place. If somehow three
teams were able to slip through the cracks and you

(24:03):
had to leave out an undefeated team in a conference championship,
well that's when things get That's that's when the Big
Ten moves to a four team playoff within the Big
Ten to determine their champion, which then leads to, you know,
then all four of those teams end up getting into
the CFP probably anyway, So why even play It's like,
I don't know where do we.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
I'm looking at the current undefeated teams. Rutgers does not
play Ohio State or Oregon or Penn State. So we
can we talk about undefeated Rutgers at the end of
the year.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
And I have grant and I have been undefeated Rutgers.
Trust me. That would make Grant happier than anything I think.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
To see the Scarlet Knights and undefeated in Indianapolis, that
would be. That'd be a fever dream.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Could you?

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Could you imagine trying to explain to someone to your
kids in two thousand and eight, let's see, like, hey,
there's going to be not only are there, like is
there a Big Ten Championship now, but it's Rutgers versus Oregon.
And not only that, it's on CBS.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Oh yeah, yeah, wait, what's funny about that? Because it
was on CBS?

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Was sec for a long long time?

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Oh really?

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Oh yeah, Oh I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah, a Big Ten used to have the ABC games.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, listen here son, Rutgers versus Organ for the Big
Ten Championship, just as just as gotten intended to be.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
You could theoretically have an undefeated Penn State, an unfeated Oregon,
and an undefeated Rutgers.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Well that would be fantastic. Who says that? Who's saying
no to this?

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Yeah? Exactly, And and that's exactly. And when the time comes,
you obviously put Rutgers above Penn State, and yeah, you
have an Organ versus Rutgers matchup.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
It would be it could literally come down a tiebreaker.
Who beats USC by more the Hey.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
They're gonna have to go to Yeah, they're gonna have
to go to Wreckers.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
You're gonna see coach Ciano trying to run up the
score against USC hopefully situation He's like, don't worry when
he's he's forcing a three way tie situation where he's
gotta he's gonna win.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Oregon does not play USC this year.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
That was more when you were saying you were gonna
throw records over Penn State.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
I don't think Records plays USC this year. Oh they do. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Had some fun talks in our U in our Tuesday
pod too with the big ten power rankings, Grant and
I have been having a lot of fun with those. Yeah,
Indiana climbing the ranks.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Right now, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana is going at it right now, Kevin.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Our question was, if Signetti wins like this and wins immediately,
how long does Indiana retain him as their coach.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
It's a good question, man. I feel like Indiana could
have been a good program under h was Tom Allen. Allen, Yeah,
I think he was a good coach, but dude, it's
just a tough situation there in the Big Ten East
there when you had Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State all

(27:21):
playing at a high level. Michigan State was good every
now and then, it's like it's it was a tough
place to win. Yeah, this guy's definitely benefiting from that. Also,
they had a pretty Cakewalkee non conference schedule.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Yeah, I don't think their schedule, their strength to schedule
certainly isn't up there, you know.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Yeah, and they've got they've got they've got I mean
they beat UCLA handedly, and they've they've got a fourteen
point win over at Maryland, So I mean they've beaten
who's on their schedule. That's all they can do right now. Uh,
they're not going to get I mean they're two touchdown
favorite versus Northwestern this week. We'll see what they're made
of when they played Nebraska in a couple of weeks.

(28:00):
How long does he stay around for? I don't know, man,
There's there's always teams looking for.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Coaches, always teams looking for coach.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
It's tough to Hey, this guy had one good season
and pay him a lot of money to leave. But
the lightening that's what Michigan State did with what's his name?

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Uh nol Tucker, No Tucker, dude, and they paid him
a lot of money to stay. What do you think
that guy's doing right now? Man? Is he coaching or
is he just living on one hundred mill?

Speaker 3 (28:30):
He's they're not paying him. He got fired for.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Cause oh yeah, I forgot about that. So he's still
got a fair amount of money.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
He's got a few mill not the eighty that he
signed for.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
How bad? How bad is he hurting?

Speaker 3 (28:43):
That's an all time bad.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
That's that's fumbling the bag right there. I want to
give a quick shout out. I know, I get, I
catch a lot of flak on here for the uh
for being a Nebraska volleyball fan. Iowahawk guys, your Iowahawk
guys two and ozer in conference play right now, got
big five set wins over the weekend against Rutgers and Maryland.

(29:07):
It's been a while since your Iowhawkeys, especially in an
eighteen team league, have been this far up the rankings.
Obviously only two games into the schedules so far, but
up there at the top, tied with some of the
big dogs. Shout out to him. You got to give
credit where credit's due. Also, want to do quick something
grant if you could pull the I want to pull

(29:28):
up that g bone top twenty five. We haven't talked
about that in a while. Shoot okay, and I want
to give a shout out now. There's been a lot
of cool things that have come from creating this podcast,
starting the show, in this brand, over the six years
that we've done this. I was contacted by this guy

(29:49):
named Taylor. I'm gonna butcher your last name, Taylor, Taylor
Cologie Kalogi, And he hit me up and he was
like hey, he was kind of he was kind of
like asking about, Hey, maybe we advertise on the show
down the Road, like when we just took over this
this company. I think he just took over his own
construction company. Guy does wouldwork. He's like, I'd love to

(30:13):
create a piece for you to like maybe hang up
behind you on the podcast or like put up in
your man cave whatever. I was like, dude, yeah, that'd
be so sick. He's like, I want to do it
free of charge. Like he guy just wants to you know,
guy just loves wood, just loves working a little wood right,
shout out Taylor and dude, he came up with this.

(30:33):
I don't know if I can get the whole thing
in screen. Can you actually here? Let me do this
so I can be bigger.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Check this out.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Oh whoa, it's sick shut out. So that's like lasered.
That's like lasered in. They got our newer logo, our
box logo on there, and it's like pretty heavy duty.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
He's got a little.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
It's got a little thing on the back to hang up.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
We're going with that thing? Is that could?

Speaker 1 (31:05):
I think it might have to replace the backdrop. Yeah,
that's gotta go smack craight behind you. I think I
got to put it behind me. So shout out to
Taylor Kolagi hit up. Uh, take a look at his work.
Guy loves to make furniture, he said. Furniture is his specialty.
Collogi Construction on Instagram Ko l O d g I Construction.

(31:28):
Shout out to him, dude, what a legend. All right,
Grant he hit me with that GBO on top twenty
five My lit I just want to preface well, quad boxing.
Hold on, wait, hold on, we just figured out we
just figured out the YouTube quadbox. You can quad box
if we want love that.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah, I will say I am starting to dislike to
in the top twenty five.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
So it feels like it feels like.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
An impossible job now because I don't I don't want
to rank like half these teams, Like I don't believe
that that half.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
These teams are a lot of these All right, tell
me who? Tell me who?

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yeah? Who do you want to out of there?

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Who would you put in above them? Is the question? Well?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Like, for instance, like in the a Peo pole, right,
a lot of teams have like Oklahoma at fifteen, sixteen,
seventeen somewhere around there. I didn't like, I didn't even
rank them because I was like, I'm so sick of
this team.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
I don't want them around anymore. Well, are the hold
on it? Is Oklahoma undefeated? No?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
No, they lost to Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
No, they put it a bysmal game against Auburn, which
I was like, I don't I don't want to reward
them for this.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
But oh yeah, they just escaped. I know I might.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
I'm gonna keep doing them, but I feel like I'm
more of a tears guy. Okay, I feel like that
that's a more phishing way for me to rank them.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
And okay, okay, maybe you can maybe you can switch up.
You know, there's no rules.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I mean, we're committed to it, like we're like, you know,
it's like you can't be a you got to be
a bracketologist all seasons. You can't just do it for
one week, right, But this is I do feel for
sometimes the voters now, it's it is a difficult job.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Uh, how do you feel about Well, maybe start at
the top here, because I thought it was interesting that
that they jumped Alabama all the way up to number
one after they're the AP did and you know, obviously
they beat Georgia and they were absolutely stomping Georgia ure
a good portion of that game. But does that warrant?

(33:13):
I mean it ended up being very close. They could
have almost they could have easily lost that game. Still, yeah,
does talk to me like, how how does Alabama jump
in the AP? I see you kept them at you
put them at number two, which I think is a
little bit more respectable. Texas.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
I think Alabama now is the best win in the country. Yes,
I think it's mainly And then I think people also
remember that twenty to nothing start pretty well, and I
don't know, I Obviously I didn't put Alabama up at one,
but like I would understand why you would want to
the Like, frankly, they were only halfway through the season.
We don't know, there's still a little bit to learn.

(33:51):
This where early in conference play. But I just thought,
like I think Texas dominating Michigan too is so ingrained
in my mind of like, holy cow, this team is
that good.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yeah, And I don't know, I don't.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Think they've learned a lot about Michigan though you haven't
been number nine. I think that is very generous right now.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Again, this is the rankings.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Thing's tough because it's like, I know, I have to
put certain teams somewhere, but like in my head, if
it was like a tier system, it would probably be
somewhere else, if that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Funny interesting point here going back to the old uh hey,
we want four auto bids per conference. By the way,
if you look at Grant's top ten or just the
AP top ten, you have one, two, three, four five
SEC teams. You have one two, three, four Big ten teams,

(34:40):
and then you've got the U.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
I mean now that you got the U and Clemson
for the ACC.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Well there, Yeah, Clemson's Clemson's at eleven uh on the.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
On the on the on the main one or on
the AP one, not the main one. Grant's the main one.
G Bone is the He's the all, He's he's the real.
They have Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri, those five still
and again Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State. Like nine

(35:13):
of the top ten are Big ten or SEC schools. Yeah,
putting up a pretty good, pretty good case there for
those four auto bits. Now, I understand that those teams
still have to play each other in a lot of cases.
It allows some other teams that are you know, maybe
somebody like Miami and some I mean, but yeah, I
mean you go down the list here, there's not a

(35:33):
lot of other Right after that is usc Ole, miss LSU.
Then there's a little bit of a gap on the
A people. But I mean there's just not a lot
of room you might get I get one big twelve
team up there. I mean, it's it's it's tough sledding.
Told Grant this yesterday as well, Kevin H And this
could be this could be tough for k wardy twenty six.

(35:56):
Are you prepared for the situation where you have to
cheer for Iowa State the rest of this season to
win out and be the Big Twelve champions and get
into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
And they're going to cheer for such a scenario.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Okay, well you might, you might want to start.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Nope, I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Well you might want to because because if if it
happens to be that they are the only loss or
one of only two losses on Iowa's schedule and we
have any sort of chance, we probably want those teams
we lost to to be as high in the rankings
as possible. And they're already in the top fifteen on

(36:33):
the g Bone, the g Bones scale, the Richter scale.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
You're forgetting about the very fun BYU Cougar's right now
as well.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
In the Big Twelve. Oh, I'm not saying that Iowa
State's gonna run away with it by any means. I
actually don't think they'll there. There's still a good chance
they don't even make the Big Twelve championship game. And
I would if I had to put my money on
the field or Iowa State to win the Big Twelve championship,
my money's going on the field. But no, it makes
sense something that, but it's certainly not I think I

(37:04):
think they're the favorites at this point, been are betting
favorites to win the Big Twelve. They are, I think,
So it's unbold doubt. Wow, let's see, let's see Big
twelve bonds. I didn't know that. If they're not, they
got to be close. I mean, do you can so you.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Got a three way tie between Utah, Kansas State, and
Iowa State to win the Big Twelve at one most
books some of them are different, but.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Plus three hundred, four hundred plus four hundred.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Yeah, some of them have Iowa State is slightly less
than Kansas State, but you get the idea.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Is Utah's quarterback back? Yet he had a bad loss Arizona?

Speaker 1 (37:46):
But how much does that?

Speaker 2 (37:49):
It doesn't matter at this point with Utah it matters
a lot.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
I mean, I mean, like six years, it feels like.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
I know, but like I'm just I'm so sick of
the is cameras and playing or nothing We've been doing.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
For a year and a half. So well, if he
is playing, though, they beat people like pretty a lot
of people. And if he isn't playing, their dogshit, Yeah,
I mean one of the things that.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
You feel sick that you had to rank be as.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
You dude, Cam Rising not playing ruined my five game
teaser this weekend.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Well, I will say when I watched that home there
what No, it works all the time, no one, No
one doses college football.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
I do, all right, It's impossible to bet by the
way the NFL.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
The NFL is very hard.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
Oh my god, it's hard. It feels like it's the hardest.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
And that's how you know it's a good product.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Right, Sure, I could.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
I could bet the White Sox are going to lose tonight.
That was going to write one hundred and twenty.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
One times they are going to lose.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Okay, you thought the White Sox were going to be
in the wild card tonight?

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Well no, no, okay, But.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
The way that the way he went back to April
and just you know every game that the White Sox
are going to lose, like you would you would have
had a profitable year.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
You probably would have made money. Circling back on that
for just twenty seconds, keV, I know, at one point
the White Sox were on pace to have like the
worst MLB season ever. They did they did that, They
did do that. They accomplished it. Oh wow, good for them.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Yep, going down the record books. The season on somewhat decent. Uh.
I don't want to say win streak because they did
lose like the third to last game to seal a record,
but let's uh, they won five out of their last

(39:38):
six games.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Oh my god, which I think they tied the record
with six games left.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
Wow, yeah, exactly, and then.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
And then they decided to start winning.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
It was the third to last game that they set
the record, so they tried their hearts not to be
in the record books, but they ultimately they did.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
The worst Jerry Ransdorf thing ever is to be one
game off of the worst season ever. So we could
just say, hey, we didn't. We weren't the worst team ever.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Guys, right, Yeah, one eighth of their wins in the
last six days of the season.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
It's incredible. The uh sorry, Danny White Sox fans, sounds
like it's tough times right now. My favorite part about
this whole list, Grant is that us being back to
the GBO on top twenty five, is that you know,
us being a JMU adjacent podcast. Sure you have the
Hawks and JMU co ranked at twenty five there just
barely making it.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
I feel like it's really hard not to include JMU
in this right now. I do too, like they've just
done nothing but demolish.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Everyone in front of you. They score a lot of points.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
I think they had a slow first half against Charlotte
to start the year, and then outside of that, they've
just been annihilating everyone. Yeah, and I don't know if
that's gonna I mean, it's still fairly early in the season.
I don't know if that's going to continue. ULM is
kind of sneaky this year. This weekend could get interesting.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
But Louise Handley Row they're three and one and.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
They got like a Taysom Hill kind of guy on
their team, and I do believe I think their quarterback
is General Booty. It could be wrong about that.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
But really transfer from Oklahoma. Yeah, I think he's there now.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
But uh yeah, I know I expect I mean, Jamie
is probably gonna win that game anyway, but uh no,
I mean they've crushed her on it wasn't it Like
the last team to score sixty three points and back
to back games was twenty nineteen. Lh U and JAMO
this year, Uh that sounds right?

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Yeah, yeah, checks out.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Yeah, So I wanted to include Jamie in there because especially,
like you know, I like including these now that the
g five, you know it's in the playoff twelve seed,
we gotta the Chief Five's got to be in the mixture.
We gotta be talking about boys, gotta be talking about UNLV.
What's their Jami in there? They haven't done nothing wrong yet.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
I'm a big Boise fan. Honestly, it was just fun.
I like what they're doing. I like I like.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
As a underrated storyline of this season, exting Gente and
kilb Johnson just having like a touchdown off. Yeah, who
can just score the most? Who can have the most yards?
And I hope that this continues for most of the
season and then what's maybe a Caleb can take it
away and I guess Nebraska or something like that.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
That would be great. We can put that away. Fun.
Rankings sounds like they're kind of on the fence. Who
knows if they continue said he's more of a tear guy.
We'll see what it is we're gonna keep doing.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
We're gonna keep doing them, but okay, I will I'll
throw up the hand and say rankings are hard.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
They are hard. You know what else is hard as
going into a top five teams place in winning a
football game. In fact, it's probably not advisable, probably probably
an empty effort most times, keV. We're gonna try and
do that. Not well, not me and you. It's probably

(42:50):
a good thing that you and I aren't going to
try and do it. But the boys, the Hawks are
gonna try and do that this weekend. You know, going
with the theme that we don't really preview shit over here,
you know, a couple words on this matchup this weekend
at the Shoe. The Hawks need a prayer.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Ohio State is very very, very very good. But they
know that and then could be their downfall.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Oh, watch up, No, they're really good. They're really good.
I started looking up their roster today. I've never seen
so many stars. It's what look up into the sky
tonight as you listen to this podcast, listen at night,
go out in the in the country.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Where you think somebody punched you in the face. You
were seeing so many stars.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
It felt like I was in the ring. There were
so many stars.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
I uh.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
I tweeted this and this is a great stat for
the Hawks. There was a big ten A list of
Big Ten. By the way, I followed Kelly Ford Grant.
He is a great fallow.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
It's a great fall college football fans great fall.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
But I saw a little graphic of the Big Ten
teams ranked by penalties, and then it also had penalty yards.
Iowa leading the way, only eleven eleven penalties this year
for like ninety five yards least penalties and least yards.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
And they get penalized a lot Game one too.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
I think first first half of Game one we had
five of those. Yeah. Yeah, So in seven halves of
football we've had six penalties.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
That's good. That's good ball.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
We're gonna need to continue that this weekend. And there's
another stat that's very important when you look at football games, keV.
That really helps you win football games, and that is turnovers. Turnovers.
We're gonna need a few.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
We are gonna have to win the turnover margin by
probably at least two.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
I was gonna say it might have to be three. Yeah,
but what's what's so bare? Minimum three turnovers? Oh yeah,
we're gonna I think we have to for what they're
going to try and make us do. I would say
it's not a bad bet if the over under of
CAD interceptions is at one in this game or at
a half, I'm probably taking the over, which means our

(45:01):
defense is going to need to create probably four turnovers.
Like that's the kind of game. And I think you
look at the Ohio State game where where Kevin and
I were a part of that win.

Speaker 3 (45:11):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
You know, we I think one of the biggest against
the spread victories ever in college football. I think it
was like fifty three or fifty six points against the
spread that we won that day. You guys were fifty
point underdogs.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
No, you know we are twenty four point underdogs and
we beat it by thirty one. Okay.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
Yeah, I was like, it's like, come on, guys, you
do awesome credit. Yeah. If you look up the all
time against the spread ending results, I think we're like
third or fourth all time every football game ever since
they started covering, since they started tracking that. Well, Josh
Jackson had a day yeah four three.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
Uh he had three, and Moni Hooker had one correct yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
And then I don't think they did they fund me fumbles.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
I think they fell on both of them.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Okay, so you know, we had a ton of turnover.
We forced a ton of turnovers. And then the other
thing that I Colton I talked about today. keV. Again,
I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this,
but I'm just trying to give you the short formula
for anybody listening. Hey, is there any way the Hawks
win this weekend and this is one of those boring
coach beat things that KF talks about a lot. Our
best players have to play our best.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:23):
Yeah, and we threw several touchdowns to our future first
round tight ends that game.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
Yeah, the future first round, first first half of the
first round, two of them, and our defense played unreal.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
And future legal expert slash signed ball Swindler made a
lot of people mistackles that day too.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Have me confused with legal experts to start?

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Legal legal expert is fucking all time on that cav
That is chef's kiss. We could end the podcast there,
but we have to do our bets. Yes, we had
our best players playing our best, even myself that game.
I caught a fucking pass in that game should have
been a touchdown. Drake caught a touchdown in that game.
I mean we had guys playing.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Even hit our not best players.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
We had our bad players playing great It's incredible, unbelievable
what we did that day. Some would say all time
may never be replicated. Did you play good that day?

Speaker 3 (47:25):
Game?

Speaker 4 (47:25):
Man?

Speaker 1 (47:26):
Fuck? Yeah, let's go man. Yeah. So there's there's my
three keys to victory. You know, when they start the
game and it's like, hey, it's it's Booger's keys to victory.
We gotta win the turnover battle, we gotta uh, we
gotta have no penalties, and we gotta win uh with
our best players playing their best game. Those are my

(47:47):
three keys to victory this weekend, boys and girls at home.
I don't have much more than that. Kevin. You can
add a few final thoughts on that, but I mean.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
I would I would like to say, we gotta make
them one dimensional on offense, but even yhe dimension and all,
they're still pretty good at that dimension. So yeah, I mean,
we have to stop the run. You know, they beat
us through there, which they can do. They got some dudes.
They got to say, we got some dudes too, But

(48:14):
then we got a chance. We stopped the run. Stop
the run, wrint turnovers, win penalties, winfield position, make it
a fistfight. We'll see what happens.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
Yeah, I mean here's the thing is, and we did
this in thirteen, and we did this in in seventeen. Uh,
you have to be it has to be a ballgame.
Start in the third quarter, you got you gotta make
them go into halftime just a little bit more concern
than they were at the beginning of the football game,

(48:44):
because if they start to go in there and you
start to question it, that's when people start to play
a little tight, people start to make mistakes. So I
was going to look up team statistics rushing trying to
find what Ohio State averages through four games, not that
they've seen a defense like ours yet, but.

Speaker 3 (49:04):
They're averaging six point six yards are carried. Okay, maybe
nine hundred yards on the ground through what four games,
so to twenty to thirty.

Speaker 1 (49:17):
Yeah, to twenty seven. So they're avaging to twenty seven
on the ground. That would that's good for like, it
doesn't give me a ranking, but that's good.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
Three hundred plus through the air.

Speaker 1 (49:28):
Yeah, so that's good for about twelve or fifteenth. Their
top fifteen in rushing yards per game. I was like
ninth tenth.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
And their defense has led up not a lot seven
points all year.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Yeah, it's like, yeah, so we're gonna have to score
more than that average. But yeah, I mean, hey, maybe
maybe come out of Ohio with like a twenty one
seventeen win twenty four to twenty one, thirty one.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
Twenty.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
To seventeen, twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen, okay, all right, twenty seventeen.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
Uh yeah, fuck it, five to twenty four.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Fifty fifty to twenty one, hundred JMU score sixty three
to twelve. Uh, we're gonna need we're gonna need some help.
We're gonna need everybody to play their best game. And
all these guys know that. And we're just the two
thirty year olds on the mike. Kevin's not quite thirty yet.
M let's do everybody's favorite second see shy Kevin.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Yeah, all I do is will me no matter what,
got money, old man.

Speaker 1 (50:40):
And all we do is we don't. It's not all
we do. In fact, it only took four weeks to
figure out that we pretty much win half the time,
maybe just slightly better.

Speaker 3 (50:51):
We all wait, grant, you're dead even five hundred.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Right on one game? About five hundred.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
Well, I thought I thought I thought we had to.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Push accounted the push twice.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
You count push twice, all right, that's a boy, all right.
So we are all about five hundred, so that's pretty
solid four weeks into the year.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Yeah, I don't hate that. I don't hate that. We're
just finding it honestly remarkable.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
And you know, I think we've all found our trends.
You know, I'm gonna bet Rutgers. Cluar's gonna bet Jmu. Yep, Grant,
it's gonna bet everybody, bet everybody.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Yeah, and it's fair.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
That's he's kind of got to get in your groove.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Sure. Yeah. And with that trend, you know, Jmu is
going to be one of my picks. It's going to
be one of my last picks. One of my first picks.
Is I'm looking at this game number nine, Missouri at
number twenty five Texas A and M, and I see
the road dogs Missouri Tigers plus two and a half.
I've been told Missouri's good.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
Missouri's actually struggled a little bit in recent weeks. They
you know, they had they had a comeback win versus
Boston College and then they had to go to double
over time versus Vanderbilt.

Speaker 1 (52:01):
So they did have that close game versus Vandy where
I was charing so hard for Vanderbilt to win that game.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
Uh, I just A and M also, you know, struggled
versus Bowling Green, who gave Penn State a good run
for the money as well, maybe bo and then great.
So honestly this is this is probably a pick them game.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
Yeah, and I'm gonna pick them. The Tigers give me
Missouri plus two and a half at Texas A and
M this weekend. We're then gonna scroll down two. Should
I just bet the UMass North Northern Illinois game just
for fun, just like sick o bet? Uh we're bett
in Iowa Ohio state and this one's at plus twenty

(52:40):
right now, give me your Iowahawk guys on the road
plus twenty to cover that line. I'm not saying they're
gonna get you win. I would never bet them on
the money line in this game. They're plus eight fifty.
Be good money if you hit, But give me a
plus twenty. We're gonna put We're gonna put up a fight.

(53:01):
We're gonna go in and make this thing a little
bit sticky, something we haven't been able to do for
a couple of years against some big time ranked teams
ninety two to zero last year against ranked opponents. No more,
no more. We're going to the shoe and we're gonna
we're gonna make this somewhat of a ballgame at least.
And then, uh, where's the JAMU line at? Let me

(53:22):
find it. James Madison minus sixteen and a half against ULM. Dude,
JAMU scores points like a basketball team, and I'm taking them.
I also pulled up the against the spread best best
teams against the spread this year in college football, and
JMU is they're up there in like the top twenty

(53:43):
or so. There's seventy five percent against the spread. There
are some there. There are still ten teams that are
one hundred percent against the spread this year. Quick look.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
I believe Rutgers is one of them.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Uh, Rutgers is three and one.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
Ooh, who they lose three and.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
One against the spread. I'd like a recount on that.
I don't know your teams that are still undefeated against
the spread by U UNL V. Marshall, Louisville, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee,
San Jose State, Pittsburgh, Illinois, and Army Illinois. Who's Illinois
got this.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
Weekend Illinois playing.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
It might have a bye week, they have a bye.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
Illinois is not playing this week.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
I feel like, okay, maybe to look at Tennessee's on there,
right that just a plate of chicken wings this week?
How do you feel about number four Tennessee minus thirteen
and a half against at Arkansas?

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Arkansas has been kind of sneaky, A lot of a
lot of statement losses coming.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
From these statement losses, I tell you, I'll just Sam
Pittman is a weird, weird coach. I don't I don't
understand him, but.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
Well, all right, give me your sneaky picks, then, grant,
I don't know if any of these are sneaky per se. Okay,
for game day, Col plus ten versus Miami, the calgorithm, uh,
if you're on college football Twitter, Cal has absolutely taken
over it recently. So and then I'm gonna take Cal
in that Miami game. Raise some some I brow some

(55:11):
questions for me about them. And this is a long
long trip to Berkeley from Miami.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
ACC matchup.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Yes, everyone knows when when Cal plays Miami, you can
throw out.

Speaker 1 (55:23):
The record books between these two teams.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Yeah, true, I'm gonna take Minnesota plus eight versus USC.
I just feel like any of the like the classic
Big ten teams roughing up USC this year.

Speaker 1 (55:33):
I want a part of it. Washington minus two and
a half versus Michigan.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Uh and then Michigan Washington over forty one and a half.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Backup, backup, backup, backup, back up.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I just said you took Minnesota plus eight us USC
because you like the classic Big ten teams to rough
up these USC teams.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
No, No, they like specifically USC, Kevin, specifically USC. Okay,
then and then right into Washington.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
Minus two and have first Michigan.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Yes, correct, Okay, they're gonna be They're sailgating going on
this weekend. Kevin. I like sal Getting also like Dubbs
the Husky. It's a great dog.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
I'm gonna take Texas A and M minus one and
a half versus Missouri.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
I think Missouri is a bunch.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Of frauds, and I think they're gonna get exposed at
some point, and it might be this weekend. Who knows,
uh U n LV minus six and a half versus Syracuse,
Texas Tech plus six and a half versus Arizona South
Carolina plus nine half versus Will Miss Cox Georgia Tech
minus eight and a half vers Duke, and then UTEP
on Thursday night versus Sam Houston. I posted earlier some

(56:38):
great new uniforms for UTEP, really repping customs on Thursday
the Miners, they are the Miners. Yes, it's sun Bowl,
underrated stadium in this country for you.

Speaker 1 (56:48):
I also think that the T is a pickaxe in
their in their logo Ooh it just might be. And
then excellent use of yeah, and I think that's one
of the that's one of the best used, you know,
mascot two logo incorporated with the with the name of
the team. I think that's probably up their top five

(57:09):
in the country. And it's your it's your segment, keV.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
All right, well, I'm going to start off with one
that's actually a classic ACC matchup Clemson minus fourteen at
Florida State. Florida State has to do something to prove
to me that they even want to play football this
year or so bad. It looks bad too. They just
got boat raced by s m U last week. Uh so, yeah,
give me the Clemson Tigers. And this just feels like

(57:36):
a team that's already called it quits for the year. Yeah,
we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (57:41):
Maybe prove me wrong. Florida State proved me wrong. I
am going to take that Tennessee minus thirteen pick at Arkansas.
I'm high in Tennessee this year. I think they they
they've they've won, scoring a lot of points. They've they've
won in a little scoring ball game. They've they've covered
spreads every every single week. So I will take Tennessee

(58:05):
laying those almost two touchdowns, and then I'm gonna I'm
gonna go to the other side. What what line did
you get that Minnesota game at their Uh?

Speaker 1 (58:15):
I got it at eight.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
Yeah, So I'm gonna take USC minus eight. I'm gonna
go Apo Taco from you. I think Minnesota is just
a phony program, and barring in Michigan meltdown in the
fourth quarter, they get boat raced by them. UH, and
I think USC will we'll put up some points against them.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
Kevin Ward not a fan of peen j as they
call him up there, some of the some of the hates.

Speaker 3 (58:41):
I was looking at Minnesota schedule the rest of the year.
They maybe will be favored in two more games this year.

Speaker 1 (58:47):
Oh, so they're gonna Minnesota gonna miss a Bowl game.
You heard it here.

Speaker 3 (58:50):
First, I would I would sell them on being able
to make.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
A love that I love that p J is gonna
be on the hot seat here and I think, I.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
Hope So I'm tired of listening to that guy. Tired.
I've seen him. He needs to go back to the
mach he belongs. And that's not a disrespect to the MAC.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Is just a good field are feels kind of like
a disrespect to the MAC?

Speaker 1 (59:15):
Does I don't? I don't don't want to be doesn't
want p J Fleck?

Speaker 2 (59:18):
All right, maybe we they've grown up.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Best PJ Fleck. Well, I would hope, so, all right, hey, PJ,
cand maybe go get a job at Florida State.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Could you imagine if they hired they fire Billy Napier
to go get p J Fleck, Florida Fance.

Speaker 1 (59:34):
Would be outreached.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
No, that would be I did bring an update for
the biggest outright upsets all time.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
By the way, if you had to get like you're
going to try and guess the biggest aute.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Michigan is what comes to my mind if I don't
think it actually.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Yeah, that one would have had to have been like
thirty or something forty maybe, Uh, and I don't I
don't want to say that biggest ever is in the sixties.
I don't even know if app State Michigan's in the
top ten. Wow, okay, give us the Howard beat un
O vs. Forty five point underdogs by how much? I

(01:00:12):
don't know the final score. It's know they won. Oh
so that was just the biggest spread of a game
they didn't necessarily win Howard.

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Howard won forty three to forty. No, these are outright upsets.

Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
Yeah, yeah, so they get yeah yeah, not not not
a team that was, you know, seven point underdogs win
by thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Sure, yeah no, Yeah, it's just like the actual was.

Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
The biggest spread?

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
The app State one was in the thirties because Michigan
is like number two that year.

Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Yeah yeah. Appstate was a thirty one point underdog to Michigan.

Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
It looks like cool in that game live as a kid.
So that's the only one that's what sticks out to me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
Yeah. Uh, that's all I got. I'm gonna go eat
ice cream.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
I implore you guys to do the same.

Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Uh, catch a five ten five show tomorrow with me
and Justin Lima coach Justin. We went for like forty minutes,
really good conversation. And then you guys will be heading
into the weekend to watch the Hawks at the Shoe
to play the Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon. We'll recap that game,
hopefully a win on Monday. See you.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
