This is the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. Robert
Harris is a novelist and historian who's brought us fascinating
books such as Fatherland and Conclave, among others, and one
from twenty thirteen, a historical fiction thriller called An Officer
and a Spy, the story of French officer George Picard,
who's assigned to run the Statistical Section, the top tier

of French military intelligence, investigating the Alfred Dreyfus affair. Dreyfus,
a Jew, was convicted of espionage. The evidence was flimsy,
but in this retelling of the Dreyfus affair story, Officer
Picard doesn't give up risking his own life to reveal

who was wrongfully convicted. The French government tried to suppress
