This is the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. When
you combine history from seventy five thousand BC to the
beginning of the modern Age, and you tell that history
by focusing on culinary habits, you've got a really fun
book called Dinner with King tut A. Rogue archaeologists are
recreating the sites, sounds, smells, and tastes of lost civilizations.
The book is written by Sam Kean, who joined these

experimental archaeologists as they look to breathe new life into
our ancient ancestors. Certainly, this is a book of history,
looking at everything from Egyptian pyramids to the Aztec Kingdom,
but it's more than just what the past might have
looked like, as to do with what it's smelled and
tasted like for those who lived thousands of years ago.
Through experimental archaeology, we now have a newer and somewhat
more exciting way of experiencing history as it was filled
