Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich and yes,
I'm a sucker for a good pun and a wonderful metaphor,
and I found a book that's loaded with them. It's
called In Her Shoes Walking the Leadership Walk by Karen Hanks.
I love the concept of the sole spelled sole, the
sole of a shoe connecting its purpose to the ground,
providing grip and stability. Also the idea of putting yourself

(00:20):
into someone else's shoes, understanding empathy and many steps to
maintain your leadership fit. Without the right kind of shoes
that fit well and make you feel good well, as
Karen says, you can be off balance, uncomfortable, unstable, and
concerned about where your steps are leading you. Each chapter
loaded with wordplay, but words that make sense. With this metaphor,

(00:40):
what do you do when your shoes no longer fit?
Or leaving your footprints means building a leadership legacy? Then,
of course there's walking with confidence. It's just plain fun
and if you get a lot of shoes in your closet,
you'll enjoy it and learn a bit about leadership. In
Her Shoes Walking the Leadership Walk by Karen Hanks that's
the book Club. WBZ, Boston's news radio
