Welcome to the WZ Book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. A
book that brings to life Isabella Stuart Gardner, the woman
famous for opening her Italian palazzo style home as a
museum in nineteen oh three. She's the feature in the
novel The Lioness of Boston by Emily Franklin. We discover
that Isabella Stuart Gardner was certainly an iconoclast, coming to
Boston when she was twenty years old in the eighteen sixties,

marrying into the blue blood wealth and power of Boston
at the time, having difficulty fitting in. Tragedy entered her
life on more than one occasion, and she found solace
in the world of art letters ideas connecting to literary
and artistic figures such as Henry James and Oscar Wilde.
The title The Lioness of Boston stems from her fondness
of walking a pair of lions in the Boston public garden. Ultimately,
