Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the WBZ book Club. I'm Jordan Rich. For
many of us, including me, acupuncture is proven to be
a successful therapy. A fine book on the subject is
called The Spark in the Machine. How the Science of
Acupuncture Explains the Mysteries of Western Medicine. The author is
doctor Daniel Keone, who has a medical degree from Manchester
University and in two thousand and eight completed a degree

(00:20):
in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and he has studied alongside
some of the most renowned acupuncturists in the world. Lofty
principles spelled out in plain English to bring across the
point that there is a synchronicity in the physical body
with defined acupuncture channels that exist to promote homeostasis in balance.
He explains the theories of Chinese medicine and the mysteries

(00:41):
of the body that Western medicine largely ignores. Helps to
put to rest some of the myths about acupuncture. First
of all, when applied by a professional, the needles do
not hurt and the results can be and I stress,
can be extremely positive. The Spark in the Machine by
doctor Daniel Keone and that's the book Club WZ Bosston's
