For those of you who enjoy a good Western, let
me recommend a book called Tough Luck by Sandra Dallas.
It's the story of young Hadi Richards, who in eighteen
sixty three decides to head west in a treacherous journey
to find her father, who went off years earlier to
mine gold in Colorado. After their mother passed away, Hadi

and her younger brother Booths find themselves in an orphanage.
Their dad left four years earlier, and they've only received
a few letters since. Haiti is a tough, independent soul,
and she and her brother decide to escape the orphanage
and set out on a dangerous journey to find their dad. Ultimately,
she discovers the truth about her father, and the book
is filled with colorful characters and surprises along the way.
