Vicky, let's just jump right in. Let's talk about Williamsburg. Well,
you're in Williamsburg. There's never toomuch of a good thing because there are
too many things to see, do, taste, and experience. Whether you're
a foodie, a golfer, ahistory buff, which is what we're very
well known for, or a shopaholic, outdoor enthusiast, or a thrill seeker
(00:41):
for our rollercoasters and water parks, you'll find just what you're looking for here
in Williamsburg, Virginia. I knowWilliamsburg is of courch very rich in history.
I think many people are familiar withthat. But you do have history
unfolding in real time in colonial Williams, right. I think it's so cool
the experience of watching and active archaeologicaldigs going on right now in Williamsburg.
(01:03):
Can you kind of elaborate on that, because it is so cool to me?
Sure, well, our archaeological digsare not only in Williamsburg, but
also in historic Jamestown Island, whichis the site of the first permanent English
settlement. And generally speaking, inWilliamsburg, you just don't learn about it,
you live it. And so whetheryou're walking the grounds of Historic Jamestown
(01:25):
Island or taking a carriage ride throughcolonial Williamsburg, you get to walk through
live archaeological dig sites where history isliterally being uncovered every day. Or you
can head Tollas or Yorktown's Revolutionary Warbattle sites, and so there are so
many things to see and do asit relates to history. But to be
(01:46):
able to experience that and see archaeologistsuncovering it in real time, it's certainly
something very special to this area. It's such a unique experience, and I
think that that's a really important pointfor Williamsburg. But it's more than just
history. I know, at thebeginning you mentioned, you know, all
of the outdoor activities biking, hiking, I know that there's lots to do
(02:06):
if you're a water lever. Sowhat are some of those outdoor activities of
visitors can experience during their time inWilliamsburg. The region has water on both
sides. We are a peninsula andso our vast shoreline and network of rivers
make Williamsburg a hidden gem for outdoorenthusiasts. Kayaking or canoeing down the James
York or Chickahominy River, hiking andbiking through miles of scenic trails, and
(02:30):
you can't miss our local, stateand national parks. After a long day
of exploring, there's nothing better thanenjoying a sunset up the beach. And
I know that if you are anoutdoor lover, there's quite a vibrant golf
community in Williamsburg as well. Canyou tell us a little bit about that
for the golf lovers that might belistening. We have more than a dozen
world class courses throughout the region andso Williamsburg has quietly become one of the
(02:53):
east premier golf destinations. Architects, including some of the greats like Arnold Palmer
and Jack Nicholas, to name thefew. The picturesque beauty of our courses
will keep visitors in golf enthusiasts comingback time and time again. Vicky Siminos,
