On the eve of Thanksgiving. This is the Accurate Heating,
Cooling and Pungland game of the week on ninety four
Country WKKJS. Three games here at Zane Trace tipball's classic
first one being the Adena Warriors versus the New Hope

Christian Academy. Statesman, I am Chris Postage, joined alongside by
my father, Lou Postage. Dad's good to be here. It
is good to be here. It's you know, it's getting
colder outside. It's time to move inside. We all like
football this time of the year, but basketball season is
something special and tonight for this afternoon, I should say,
the Adena Warriors start off a new rain, I should

say with their head coach Andrew Dave moving over from
the girls side to the boys side, so making his
debut tonight for the Adena Warriors. This is a new
season for both squads playing their first game and look
back at last season, Adena four and twenty on the
season offense, only averaging thirty eight points and getting up
fifty four points a game. They do return keyth starters

Joey Francis and Colton Garrison, and they lose one of
their leading scorers, Christian Heaths. Yeah, but I'll tell you
what the improvement in the You know how Colton Garrison
has developed into an offensive threat for the Adena Warris
something that it's good to see. You see a kid
move from the sophomore to junior year and really make

that step up. I was able to see him in
his trimmage here early in the year and his improvement
on the offensive end is really good. So as far
as scoring for the Adena Warriors, I tell you what,
a lot of people are going to be surprised. This
team has wanted to surprise a lot of people. They
have some nice size, some length, and they are strong inside.

Looking at the New Hope Christian Academy Statesman out of
the Circleville area. They had a pressing season last year,
twenty one and five overall, averaging sixty six points a
game and giving up forty eight. Two of their big
guys tonight will be Gavin Lowtens in Nate games, and
again they're they're a team that's really enjoyed playing basketball.
They you know, you look at some of their scores

over the last few years, they really like to score
on the offensive end. So you know, who knows what
you're gonna see out of them tonight, But I guarantee
you what they're gonna come out. They're gonna play hard,
and it's gonna be a fun brand of basketball. You
mentioned this is coach Day's first season on the boys
side as a head coach. He spent the last few
seasons as the girls coach. Coach Day's someone who's been

around the program for a long time, boys boys and girls.
Got his first taste of boys basketball for you, when
you were the coach here at aDNA. Yeah, back in
six seven, Andrew came aboard our staff and he's been
there ever since in some capacity. So he loves this program,
both boys and girls. He loves his school and they're

very fortunate to have now on the boys. Got very
successful in the girls six seasons, over one hundred wins,
two SVC champions, and he's going to try to bring
that back here to the boys side. Coach Day, someone
I also played for in my days at Adina. We'll

the starters, first for the New Hope Christian Academy statesman
the visiting team on the scoreboard, Number two Jude leist
He is a six foot junior, Number fourteen, Gavin Lowden's
a six foot senior, Number twenty, Nick Games a five
to eleven senior, number twenty three, Seth List a six'

to two, freshman and number twenty Five Riah woodruff a
six to one freshman. COACH a mix of freshmen and
seniors there in the starting. Lineup, yeah and, again at
a small school like, that you're going to see a
lot of. That you're gonna see freshman's making big contributions
early in their. Careers and you see that here, tonight

two freshmen stepping in and tell you, What you're going
to see another freshman play a lot for him as.
Well that is a big jump coming into an atmosphere
like this at the high school. Level we'll see how
those young men handle. That but you're going to see,
that and, really if it wasn't for an, injury we

Zero Joey, francis a five eleven, seniors number, One Lnston
metster a five to five, senior number, Three Luke preston
a five to eleven, senior number, Eleven Colton, garrison a

team they pose a lot of size when you look
at their roster and you go down there, roster even
some of their guards start to get a little you,
Know Joey francs only listened at five, eleven but he's
got really lengthy arms and he's. Quick and you look
at coming off the, Bench you've got A Cooper day

who plays a. Guard he's six. Four Kate sowers is
also going to come off the bench for, them he's
six six. Inside so, again a really lengthy and athletic
team for The Adena, warriors and very interesting to see
how they come out and play here this. Afternoon we
mentioned the only loss on the roster from last year

Was Christian, heath also a lot of experience playing at
the varsity level for This adena, roster and that comes in,
huge especially this time of year when you're starting off the.
Season they've already been, there they've done, that AND i
think that gives a big advantage To aDNA here this. Afternoon, so,

to see out of our? Team trying to get things

rolling here at a one o'clock, start first, day first
game of the. Year, well you put up some goals
that you want to accomplish as a team in this
first game and then you just want to go down
through there and check them. Off obviously you're not a
finished product by this mean or this time of the
year at, all but you do want to make some
strides and that's what both coaches are going to want to.

See other teams they had some. Scrimmages they may be
played in a foundation, game so they do have an.
Idea but there's nothing like turning on these lights for
the first, time having those announcers and when that ball
goes up in the, air that's a big. Difference but,
yeah you just want to get off those check marks
and make some strides here in the. Game one big

break in the full bellies right. After, yeah this might
be the first game in the state Of ohio here
for boys, basketball as this is the first day they could,

has done it for quite a few, years there's just

this this state and this this part of the country
is just infatuated with. That so that's why they don't
