matchup Here on ninety four Country WKKJ, we have the
home team, the Southeastern Panthers, and the visiting Adena Warriors.
I am Chris Posted, joined alongside by my father Tonight
coach Loop host Is coach. It's good to be here.

It is good to be here, and you know, after
the type of weather we've had here over the last
few days, it's good to be back in gymnasium and
playing basketball again.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
The Lawyers come in with the three and two record,
two and two in SBC conference play for the Southeastern Panthers.
They're oh to four and three in conference play so far.
Offensively for a DINA, they average fifty four points per
game and give up forty eight point two. Last game
for them was a victory on Friday against PTE Valley

fifty two to forty five. The game that they really
controlled the whole time. But let's hanging Valley get back
into it late.

Yeah, and they're a team, you know, coming off a
really tough loss on Tuesday. That Friday night game, there
was a lot of you know, it was tough for
DNA to really focus. I thought they really had times
where they did, but there's also times they didn't. They're
a team that's still finding their identity. Now they're a

surprise team. A lot of people probably didn't pick him
here to be three and two at this stage in
the league or in the season, and two and two
in the league. They played really good basketball. But there's
still a team that is searching to find their identity.
But they're a team that's dangerous.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
They've got size, they've got some athletic ability, and they've
got some quickness. Leading score in their last game, Gavin Harold,
he had a really good night. The young sophomore. Also
leading scorer for this team, Joey Francis. They look to
those two to do a lot of their scoring.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah, and Harold does a lot of things for this
team that are outside the score. But but you know
what you're gonna get with Joey Francis. You're gonna get athletics,
and you're gonna get speed, and he can really get
your team started. He's done that in a couple of
games for these A Dena Warriors. So as Joey Francis
goes early in the game, as do the A Deena.

Warriors in Southeastern we said they are winless on the season.
They do average forty one points per game and give
up fifty two point five, not a huge difference for them.
They do a lot of things right, but if you
talk to coach Allis, sometimes it comes down to execution
and they're just not getting the ball in the basket.

Yeah, And that's what it comes down to, is getting
the ball in the basket. There is a lot of
times they do execute well, they just don't get the
ball in the basket.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
And that's what it comes down to.

They're a team that's searching for some scoring and they're
a team that needs to get on a little bit
of a run. We've seen him that time play extremely well.
We know they're gonna play hard for coach Alli, but
he just needs to find somebody that can score on
a consistent basis. They all have the ability, They all
have the capability, But is it going to be which

night is it going to happen? And Coach Alley knows
it's going to happen here soon and tonight could be
that night.

Losses in their last two games to Unyodo and Zane
Tres fifty thirty seven fifty two to thirty one. When
you look at this team, there is a huge hole
from last year. You think about Lane Williams was a
guy that did it all for them, but they look
look to a guy at Landon Smith to bring that
leadership and ball control for that.

Yeah, and we saw it a little bit last Tuesday
when we were here against Juniota. He played pretty well
against a really strong Uniodo team. So again it's going
to come for the Southeastern team and they're they're a
team that has some size as well, and it's just
going to be one of those nights, which night is
it going to.

for tonight's contest. First for the Adina Warriors. Number zero
Joey Francis at five eleven senior. Number one, Langston Metzger
a five to five senior. Number three, Luke Preston, a
five eleven senior. Number eleven Colton Garrison, a six to
four junior, and number twelve Gavin Harold, a six' three.

Sophomore also for The, warriors we'll See Cooper days six
to four soft And Kate, sowers a six sixth. JUNIOR
a lot of size for The, warriors especially on the.

Bench, yeah when they when they bring those two guys
in off the, BENCH i have really get them a little
taller and they have proven that they are seven. DEEP i,
mean all seven guys can really contribute to this.

Team so you, know as Coach day looked at this,
year he was hoping he was going to get some
out from the, bench and he's been able to get.
That another unsung guy for The Adena warriors Is Colton
garrison at six,' four he'll do just about Everything Inside
andy wilson bring the ball Up when metzger's on. The,
bench yeah and that's something they.

Really needed they really do need somebody to be able
to handle, the pressure handle the basketball Other Than, langston
Metzker And colton garrison has been able to fill that
spot there For The. Adena warriors For.

Yeah they're gonna be able to Match Up with the.
Dena wars pretty well some teams have a hard time
Doing That with, the Dena witows side but southeastern is
going to be able to. Match up pretty Well, and also,
with southeastern you see there's gonna be three sophomores that
are going to contribute to this team and they've done.

A good job of doing that here in. The first
few games. They're pretty deep too coach can throw all nine,
of them out there and they've played well. For Them
at Times Gage Cheetle And Brevn Straws Ball all league.
Honorable mentioned last year so they'll look to the seniors. For,
some veteran leadership yeah.

And that's what this, team is looking for, some type
of leadership. Especially on the floor AND as coach And
I were OR coach ali and i were, talking before
the game it's one of those things where it seems
like kids nowadays they know, the game of basketball they watch,
the game of basketball but they they really don't understand

how certain things are supposed to happen and when. They're
supposed to happen and that's something that kids have to. Learn,
on their own coaches, we can teach them but and
still they start to see this, stuff on their own
they're really not going to understand the game of basketball.

And how it needs to be played. Out, on the
court coach. You mentioned it earlier with the Weather We
have in, southeast ohio right now a lot of schools
canceled the last couple of days. And throughout the weekend
many of these teams haven't practiced much over the last.

Four, or five days yeah and, talking to both coaches
a very little amount of time been Able, to practice
since friday.

And that's.

Going to be difficult and that's just something you have
to deal with. As a basketball coach and playing in
the winter is the ups and downs and the weather
and there the sickness and all that stuff that, comes
in the, play and you know it's just something you.
Have to deal with everyone has. To deal with it
and when they say, it's time to play you you

One i think both teams want to get off to.
A REALLY good start so i think the first three
minutes of this quarter is going to tell a lot
about how this game. Is going, to go but again
both teams want to get off to a good start
and having a prolonged. Time off doesn't, help so as
coaches you just never know, what's going to happen and
hopefully do you.

only conference Losses came To The. Union and zane trace that
last loss was An overtime loss at Zane At home
against zane. Trace by one point so if they want
to get THEMSELVES back, into the sbc race these are
games they need.

mean you look at all. The games they played they
played five games up to this point and one three
of them and the two they lost were two really
good teams and they played. Well in those Games So
as coach andrew day has taken over the girls, PROGRAM
or boys program i should say he's got to be
happy to where his. Team is right now obviously there's still,

strives to be made but he's got to be pleasantly.

Surprised Where they are for southeastern still trying to. Get

athletes they play hard and they just haven't put it

was ONE of those things where i think both teams struggled,
to get anything going offensively to. Get ANY type of

STRUGGLED all year scoring yeah i. Mean that's, EVERYBODY knows that.
