Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome, and tonight we come to you from the village
of Frankfurt and Andrew. This is week four, but now
we start league play. This is week one of the
league play, and you know, things start to change a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
You know, anytime you get into the league play, everybody's
familiar with everyone else. Everybody kind of knows what the
other team's gonna do. So it's really a matter of executing,
being able to do what you want to do even
if the other team knows what's coming. And you know
two teams that tonight in Southeastern and Adena that are
kind of in the same place they finished at the
bottom of the standings last year. They're both trying to
(00:37):
kind of gain some footing as this as the season
gets going, and so it'll be interesting to see how
this game plays out tonight.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Yeah, and you talked about that last year. You can
go back a few years.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
These teams have not had a whole lot of success
in the SVC, and I think somebody wants to start
out on the right foot tonight, and we could see
some substantial losing streaks end here tonight.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, you know, it's a it's a game where if
you can if you can kind of feel that momentum
of winning, just experiencing that, that.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Can carry on to the next you know, the next
week of practice.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
You have a great week of practice and then you're
ready to go, you know, maybe beat somebody else.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
So it's why I think tonight is really really important
for both teams.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
And as I talked to the coaches there earlier in
the week, you could tell both of them were excited
about getting in the league play and where their teams are.
And when we come back on the Adena Health Systems
pregame show, you are going to hear from those head coaches. First,
we'll hear from the visiting coach from Southeastern, Larry Willoughby.

Speaker 13 (04:18):
Jill, why didn't you tell the class what you did
this weekend?
Speaker 14 (04:21):
Well, my dad and I went in search of some
magical mindows and found a zillion of them in the
stream from our lookout rock. Then my sister and I
escape from an evil slog king. I went back to
my super twig fort for safety. Then we tell stories. Still,
it got dark and the Big Dipper let us all.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
The way home. Where were you, Jill?
Speaker 14 (04:37):
We went to the forest. It's not that far away.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Out the Eastern Panther head coach Mary Willoughby, Coach, I
appreciate your time today. Before we talk about your season
so far, let's talk about you and your decision to come.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Back to the school you graduated from to be the
head football coaching and what have you.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Tried to establish to maybe change the culture around Southeastern.
Speaker 19 (05:14):
Well, I recently retired as a school teacher after thirty
four and a half years. You know, when I graduate
from college, my first teaching job took me out of
the area, and my first head coaching job took me
further out of the area. And you know, in public
education after a certain number of years. You know, I
was fortunate enough to end up in a school system
like Hilliard City.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
It makes it really next impossible to move on.
Speaker 19 (05:37):
And so, you know, when I retired, my plan was
this pretty much sur around, do nothing, and I decided
pretty quickly that that wasn't my style. The job at
Southeastern came open. You know, I've been out of football
for a number of years, but I've been paying attention to.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
What going on.
Speaker 19 (05:50):
I'd seen some positive changes. I grew up basically like
I think in the heyday of Southeast Athletics. We were
competitive in everything. My senior class was the first to
win the All Sports fanners in school history.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
I grew up on.
Speaker 19 (06:03):
Panther basketball and a level of excellence that became an expectation,
and I think that that had eroded maybe some in
a lot of sports, and I'd seen some positive changes
in the last couple of years that made me think
this is fixable, you know, I guess. And a big
piece of it is the personal side of it is
that I look back at what I had accomplished as
(06:23):
an educator and as a coach, and I look back
at like people like what my parents did. My mom
was essentially an orphan, my dad left school in the
eighth grade during the Great Depression, and they basically poured
their lives into their community. I decided that that was
a chapter in my book that was missing. I'm almost
sixty years old. I said, it's time to start writing
that next chapter.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
So coach your team so far as two and one,
talk about what you've learned about your team so far,
and maybe some of the leaders that you have seen
emerge from your team.
Speaker 19 (06:52):
Personnel wise, we've had to deal with some adversity, We've
had to develop some playmakers in the absence of some
folks that have been dealing with me injuries. We talked
every day about being a better football team today than
we were yesterday. I don't think that there has been
a day where we can look at it and go,
we took a step back to we are still dealing with,
you know, some personnel issues in terms of injuries, the
(07:15):
type of stuff that every high school team deals with.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
I've gotten solid leadership.
Speaker 19 (07:18):
From my seniors. I have a nice senior class. We've
got thirteen kids out. A couple of them are our
first year guys. A couple of guys that have been
on the team but have been injured most of their career.
One senior in particular, and I'm wont mention him because
unfortunately we lost.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Him last week was Landon Brown. Landon Brown.
Speaker 19 (07:33):
He was the center on their team last year and
we moved him to tight end and he's been our
most consistent blocker upfront, and he emerged really as a
solid defender and really strong pass rusher defensively, and unfortunately
we know we lost him in the second quarter and
we've had to deal with that. Seth Walker is another
senior that you know, this kid got hurt, I want
to say, on the seventh or eighth play of the
(07:55):
first game of his junior year and missed the whole season.
He's now a kid for us that we can't take
him off the field. He leads in all the ways
you want a kid to lead. We've gotten a lot
out of a couple of well, one one junior in particular,
as Landon Smith, I was a basketball kid that I'm
watching him play basketball. I decided I had to have him.
(08:15):
And you know, we worked team all spring. He lifted
weights with us, and he's figuring out how to be
a football player. And he's now made you know, two
or three big catches, including on over the shoulder catch
to set up a score. We played Notre Dame. He
got to pick six last week. He's really rounding into
a complete football player. And I guess I had to
mention somebody else that'd be Breading Burns, our quarterback. He's
he's a playing quarterback and he's probably leading our team
(08:38):
in tackles as an outside linebacker.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
We have we've struggled running.
Speaker 19 (08:41):
The football consistently, but we have developed a very strong
vertical passing game with a high completion percent and that's rare.
You know, if we're completing sixty four percent of our
passes and you know we're hitting, we've had at least
one deep ball every game.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Well, Coach this week you start lead playing, you talk
about some of the adverse that you're facing. This is
your third straight road game, your team is going to
be on you actually have another one after this week.
Talk about the challenges of that and how your team
is embracing being on the road.
Speaker 19 (09:11):
I don't think we even embraced at one vent. We're
kind of tired of it. It was just kind of
how the schedule fall apart, and to make it even
more complicated, week two, we were supposed to play Franklin
Furnas Green on a Thursday night, which was you know, obviously,
you know you're dealing with the challenge of a wil
road trip on a short week. And then Wednesday of
that week at eleven o'clock we were formed by Green
(09:31):
that they couldn't play. We somehow was able within an
hour and a half to find a game against a
really good sportsmate Notre Dame team.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
But you know, we took to the wire.
Speaker 19 (09:41):
Their team was going to win eight or nine games,
if not ten, and by playing them we got better.
You know, last week we were on the road for
an hour and a half each direction, and so we're
tired of traveling. Playing at Adena is We're on the
bus for thirty minutes. That's nothing for.
Speaker 6 (09:57):
Us, is what it is. You just have to deal
with it. This was nice. This was a nice week
in that we had a normal prep week.
Speaker 19 (10:03):
You know when we met in the off season and
decided this is what Monday needs to look like, and
this is what Tuesday needs to look like. This is
the first week we've got to do that, and so
that's a positive.
Speaker 6 (10:13):
But yeah, we're looking forward to being able to come
back home.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
All right, Well, coach, your opponent this week is the
Adena Warriors.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
What have you seen from the Warriors? What are you
expecting from them this Friday?
Speaker 19 (10:23):
Well, they run the football, They get all they you know,
they come off the ball, they run the football. They've
struggled to score, but it's mostly been shooting themselves in
the foot.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
They've played good people.
Speaker 19 (10:31):
They have a couple of outside threats that are concerned
that the Francis kid is pretty quick, so we obviously
want to make sure that we got we got lots
of blue hats when when he gets anywhere near the football,
it's but it's an SEC game, and you know, i've
been away from the SVC, I know how it is.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
Around here. These kids are close.
Speaker 19 (10:47):
They've been competing against each other since the Soda Valley
youth Lely they know one another. And you know, frankly,
we're setting on a very long, unacceptable losing streak in conference.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
That's probably more our focus than a Dina. Be honest
with you. We worry about us and what we need
to do.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well, coach, we appreciate your time and best luck in
the game Friday night.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
Thank you. I want to do one.
Speaker 19 (11:08):
I do want to say thanks for covering high school
football sports. Don't seem to get the media coverage that
I used to Be'll pick up the paper and read.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
About five games. It's not that way anymore.
Speaker 19 (11:17):
And so you know, anybody that does reach out and
broadcast games and cover games, I think needs to be
recognized and perhaps salleast and I want to thank.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
You for that.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Well. We appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (11:27):

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Health Systems Pregame Show. We are now talking with aDNA
head coach Scott Hurt, coach. Throughout the preseason and the
first three weeks of the season, whatever you learned about
your team and what do you see as some of
the strengths and also talk about maybe some of the
leaders that have emerged this season.
Speaker 28 (15:04):
Well, you know, we installed a couple of new systems
going into the season, with me switching over to offense
and then bringing in coach Wellman for the defense, so
we knew there was going to be some growing pains,
and I thought during the seven on sevens even we
had times where we played really well. But you know,
as you get into more and more football in the
blocking and the tackling and the angles and all that stuff,
(15:26):
it just made us think a little bit and we
had to slow down. And in the first couple of weeks,
I think we struggled both offensively and defensively. But I
thought last week we had some Our defense played really
well in the second half, kept us in the ball game,
gave us a chance, and of course we won it late.
But the offense we rushed for almost one hundred and
eighty yards, So that was a good plus for us
last week.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
So you stand at one and two on the season.
As you talked about last week, you finally got a
home game. Plus you get that win right at the
end of the game, talk about finally get to play
at home, and talk about what that win means or
mentor your team as you guys move forward.
Speaker 28 (16:01):
Well, you think back to last year, we lost our
last five and then we lose our first two.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
This year, it's been a.
Speaker 28 (16:07):
While since we've come back into the locker room feeling
good about ourselves. So last week was huge the way
we want it and just to get that win. We're
hoping to use that a little bit of that enthusiasm
going into league play, which is always exciting. So starting
off this week hopefully after you know, we had a
pretty good practice series this week, so hopefully we can
(16:31):
see the fruition at that on Friday.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Well, as you start league play this week, your opponents,
the Southeastern Panthers, they now stand at two and one.
Talk about what you see from them and what you
expect to see from them on Friday.
Speaker 28 (16:43):
Offensively, I think we'll see a lot of similar things
of what we try to do coach Hint and running
the offense down there and some of the things we
do that we've been working on. You watch that film
and go it's pretty similar. Defensively, they are very sound
at what they do on defense that sometimes is very
difficult to manipulate to your advantage, but we're going to
give it a shot.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
On Friday night.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
Hopefully we have some success.
Speaker 28 (17:06):
Hopefully we can continue to run the ball, but we'll
have to see against their front I think their front
five is pretty good front seven they're stout, So hopefully
we can have some success and then improving our passing games.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
All right, coach, Well, we appreciate your time and best
of luck in Friday night's game.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
All right.
Speaker 28 (17:24):
I appreciate Lou with everything you do, and hopefully we
can come out with a win Friday nights.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
All right.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Andrew.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yeah, So I think for Southeastern, one of the big keys,
and you heard coach Willoby talk about it.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Was establishing the run game. They're going to pass the
ball some.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
They're not going to sling it around twenty five times
a game, but they're going to do it efficiently in
about tenth for a game. They're their quarterbacks throwing about
sixty four percent completion rate, four touchdowns on one interception.
So they're going to use the passing game. But if
they can get that run game to compliment that pass game,
it's going to be that much harder for Adena to stop.
(21:49):
I think for Adena, the thing that's hurt them consistently
early in the season is costly turnovers. They have to
avoid those. They have to take care of the football.
And the one thing that we haven't touched on yet
is Gage Cheetle for Southeastern was warming up tonight. He
has not played all season, but he has shown himself
to be one of the better players in this league
when he's healthy. So how is that going to affect
(22:11):
the game tonight? How much is Southeastern going to use him?
If you're a dina, how much do you have to
adjust going into this game knowing he's going to play.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
So that'll be interesting to watch as well.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Yeah, that's a huge factor.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
That's probably one of the best athletes in the league
and he's had himself quite a career at Southeastern. When

All but welcome back here to Adena High School in
Bostic Field where we're getting ready to start tonight's SVC
clash between the Warriors and the Panthers. The Warriors will
receive the ball here first. Southeastern actually won the toss
and data first to the second half, so we'll see
the Adena Warriors getting the ball first here. They'll be
(26:28):
on offense. Their quarterback is Eaton Elick. Running backs Grant Rawlings,
Hunter Williams, and we will also see Grady Hayden tight
end as Colton Garrison around. Along the offensive line, you
have Clayton Paully, David Warner, Lee Sowers, Chuck Sachs Hour
and Dylan Lynch. And we will also see Carson Neutral
(26:48):
in there as well. Wide receivers you'll see Fisher Shoff
and Joey Francis as we get ready for the kickoff.
Southeastern's kickoff is Jacob Borland is the kicker, and he
will be kicking it to the north here as this
field goes north and south.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
That's how you like to run in football.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Absolutely, This field does go north and south, and we're
getting ready to get this game underway. Borland's kick is
off and it's going to go all the way down
to the ten yard line, picked up by number one
Fisher Shof.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
He finds an opening right up the middle of he's
going to go all the way.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
He's going to take it back ninety yards, all the
way for a touchdown. Adena Warriors last week their first position,
they took it all the way down the field for
a touchdown. Didn't score again until the safety at the
end of the game. Here, they start the game off
with a ninety yard touchdown run by Fisher Shaw.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Yeah, Fisher's a kid that it has a lot of athleticism,
has the ability to make things happen.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
He hit the whole hard.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
It looked like around the forty on their own forty
that in Southeastern players and be able to attack on.
But Fisher game a really good stiff arm kind of
shut them aside and the rest was history.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Well, if you're a DNA, great way to get this
game started here with the ninety yard touchdown or kickoff
return by Fisher's shof and we get the point after attempt.
I don't think anybody was ready for number one. The
Adena football that should be out on the field now.
And now we finally get all the kicking crew out
there as well. So that called everyone by surprise.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, I mean, you hope to have a play like that,
but you don't really expect it, and everybody's playing catchup.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Blake Cordell with the extra point attempt and that is good.
So with eleven forty seven here to go, So that
was a thirteen second kickoff return.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
The Warriors now lead seven to nothing.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
The response here from Southeastern is gonna be big, right, Like,
how do you do you handle a moment like that?
When you come in with a lot of confidence, you
feel like this is a team that you can play with,
that you can beat, and then the very first thing
that happens is a big play for Adena. So I
think for Southeastern, this is kind of a moment where
you find out who you are and what you've got.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Well, and again, Andrew, looking back to some of the
coaches' interviews, Coach Willoughby talked about, Hey, we have a
long losing streak in the SPC.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
That's unacceptable. It's twenty nine games.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
That's an awfully long losing streak here in league play,
and they want to get it ended tonight. That's not
the way you want to start to gain.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Oh no it's not. But again, you know, it's all
about the response, and we'll see what happens here.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
So as we wait to kick off here by Blake
Caddell for the Adeena Warriors back deep for the Southeastern Panthers.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
I believe that is number fourteen.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
That is Landon Smith and I'm not sure who the
other guy is on the other end, maybe November thirty,
Gabriel Oates. So as we await Coddo's kick from the forty,
it's high in the air, it's going to come down
around to twenty two oats. He goes straight up the
middle of the field, finds a little bit of opening
(30:12):
the balls on the field and it looks like the
Adena Warriors.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Have got the ball. Someone got a hand in there.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I don't know who it was, but knocked the ball
loose as he was running. It fell on the ground
and the Adena Warriors now are going to get the
offensive possession inside the well. It's going to take over
about the thirty two yard line of Southeastern Panthers.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah, game Oates made a really nice cut.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
He was going one way, cut back the other way,
but never changed the ball the hand that the ball
was in, and as a result of that on the
ADENA players on the inside was able to knock it
away as you ran by him.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Well, as I had already introduced the ADENA office. Now
they come on the field. There we go after another kickoff.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
So the Adena war is taking the ball first and
ten at southeast eastern thirty two yard line. Elick in
the pistol formation awaits a snap. He's going to hand
off two. I believe that is number twenty three.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Hunter Williams almost loses the ball.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
They're off to his side, but he is going to
get back to the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 15 (31:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
He uh was fortunate to hold onto that one.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
It looked like it might pop out that he was
able to hang on to it quickly.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Let's go through the Southeastern defense. Defensive end Cayden Keller
defense or nose guard Ethan Knight, and another defensive end
is Tyler cuttwright. Your linebackers are Brayden Burns, Nathan Gray,
Colton Baxter, and Seth Walker. And defensive backs is Landon Smith,
Davis Wiseman, Gabriel Oates, and Luke Jones. We just got
(31:47):
a quick little play off there by the Adana Warriors,
a quick dive play off the right hand side.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
I believe that was number six Grady Hayden.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
We do have a flag on the play, so let's
see looks like in the area of holding. So we'll
see what the officials actually they're gonna mark it off
against Southeastern.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Yeah, not really sure what happened. I know the Southeastern player.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Personal foul face mass there you go.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
So give Grady a gain of about six on that
run and add another fifteen onto that gives the aDNA
Warriors a first down now around the twelve yard line.
So as coach was talking about Coach Scott Hurt talking
about how they got to make sure they take care
of the football. Last week they got it down on
(32:35):
the one yard line and fumbled.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Yeah, so again here you want to take care of
the ball.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Elick throws out to I believe that's number nine, and
that is Joey Francis. Joey Francis makes the first guy miss,
gets all the way down to about the line to gain.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Around the three yard line. And they're going to give
him the first down.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
So that'll be an eleven yard pass from Elick out
to Joey Francis, and that'll give the Adenas Warriors a
first and goal from the two yard line.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Well, Joey's a dynamic athlete, and you can see there
that whole play was designed to just get him the
ball and let him create something. And I think if
you're a diena with Francis and Schoff and Colton Garrison,
you gotta find ways to get your playmakers the ball.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
So Elick goes underneath center here, takes a snap, he
goes straight forward with it. Let's see if he gets
He does get it into the end zone for a touchdown.
So we'll give Ethan Elick a two yard touchdown run
there with the extra point coming up, it is thirteen
to nothing the Adena Warriors.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Well, nothing fancy about that, lou.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
It was just playing power football and they were able
to get the two yards they needed.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
And we await the kick here by Blake Caddwall. The
holder is Ethan Alick and the snapper is Colton Garrison.
Snap hold and it's going to be blocked. Locked did
not get it high enough there. The interior of the.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Southeastern line is able to block that.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
So with ten oweight to go here in the first quarter,
it is your or the Adena Warriors thirteen.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Southeastern Panthers Nothing. You're listening to the.

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
So Cadagle's kick is a little uh pooch kick. It
goes high in the air and then Southeastern is able
to fall on it. They're going to take over possession
here at the twenty eight yard line. So again, first
offensive play here for Southeastern, we.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
See mister Cheato in the game. So Gage Cheeto is
now to the right as a wide receiver. Quarterback is
Braden Burns Behind him, you have Dalen Henshaw and Seth Walker.
So Burns awaits a snap, he turns, throws the ball,
tries to get it to Cheatle right off the bat,
So Andrew, you see first play. They want to try
(36:13):
to get it to a playmaker who has not.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Played yet this year.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Yeah, well, if he's healthy, you're going to try to
get him the ball. Two years ago here at a
Dina in the first half, he just dominated and basically
in the second half of Dina came out and triple
teamed him and said somebody else is going to have
to beat us. So he's that kind of presence on
the field.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
So looking at the other offensive players for the Southeastern
Panthers offensive line, you have Seth Smith, western Or Levi Ginter,
Ethan Knight, Jacob Borland, and Trevor Steinbrook. So burns out
in the pistol formation. You have one receiver to the
right too to the left. He waits a snap back
(36:57):
to pass again. This time he's looking deep for Cheetle
on the field on the right side and almost makes
the catch. But that's going to be incomplete A little
short and out there with Cheetoh is Joey Francis, and
you talked about how good of an athlete he is.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Two of the best athletes in the league.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
It's going to be a fun matchup to watch all night.
Speaker 15 (37:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
It's it's good on good. It's it's two of the best,
you know, athletes, as you mentioned in the league going
at each other. So it'll be a fun story within
the game.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
So here we're going to get a third down and ten.
So you first two plays of the game you try
to get Cheetoh the ball and I'm not sure what's
going on now. The referees are over there talking to
somebody about something.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
But I didn't see a flag. Did you see that.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
I didn't either, So we're going to get something from
the referee here. Maybe as we await the call, I
believe it's going to be third and ten.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
Nope, we're gonna get passing ors.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
So that must have been early in the play there,
So that's going to be pass interference. That's going to
be a fifteen yard penalty. That's going to give Southeastern
the ball now at the forty three their own forty
three yard line. So first and ten, Southeastern, Burns awaits
a snap, he gets it, he's going to hand off
(38:24):
to fake hand off to Cheetoh out of the backfield.
Burns keeps it and he's going to get a gain
of maybe one. We're giving back to the line of scrimmage.
So the Warriors did a good job there of stopping
that up. When we talked about the Warrior defense, you're
talking about Clayton Paulay, Chuck Sachsaer, Grady Hayton, and Colton Garrison,
along that defensive line linebackers Grant Rowling as David Warner,
(38:48):
Luke Preston, and the defensive backfield you have Lands and Metzger, Fishershaw,
Chance Moser and Joey Francis, So second and ten from
the the forty three yard line of the Panthers. Two
receivers here to the left, one to the right, Burns
in the backfield awaiting the snap quick pitch out here
(39:15):
to Cheetah and the Warriors in the backfield quickly, and
that was I believe Landon metzg Are one of the
first ones in the backfield.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
Has a cornerback getting in there, and he had help
to boot.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
But that play went nowhere as they're trying to make
sure they try to get the ball to Cheetah and
see if he can do something for him.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
Right now, that brings up a third and thirteen.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
So really, right now we've seen from Southeastern the only
positive yard that you're getting was the penalty.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, they've they've run four offensive plays right now for
a net negative three yards. So right now you got
to find a way to get something going here.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
But that's tough.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
On third and thirteen, so one receiver out here to
the left hand sides.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Two to the right, Burns in the backfield, awaits snap
back to pass.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
This time he's almost intercepted their great great read there
by Rawlings for the Adena Warriors almost gets a passed off.
He attempted that pass to land In Smith, but that
was broken up there. Nice play by the Adena Warriors.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
Yeah, it was just kind of a simple out route
and Grant read it and almost was able to get.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
In front of him pick him off.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
So that brings up a fourth down in thirteen and
we're going to see a punt here by the Southeastern Panthers.
So Southeastern finally on offense, got a chance and the
only positive yardy Jake was the uh the interference call.
So punter now for Southeastern is Jacob Borland, as he's
going to get his punt off from about the twenty
(40:47):
or the thirty yard line back deep for the Warriors
as Joey Francis and Fischer Schaff We've already seen Fischer
shoff return one. He gets a fair catch on that one,
and the Warriors are going to take up around the
twenty eight yard line. So it'll be first intent for
the Adena Warriors at their own twenty eight yard line.
And we've seen the Adena Warriors offense so far tonight
(41:10):
do a very good job of getting good push up front.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Yeah, they have, and honestly, this this kind of feels
like one of those moments, Lou where if you're a
Dina and you can capitalize on how this game.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Is started and then go score again, that's.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
Gonna be a tough uphill climb for Southeastern. So it
feels like a moment that you really want to capitalize on.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
Yeah, we'll see maybe if they try to go a
little deep were with Joey Francis. It looks like we're
going to get a tight formation now the Adena Warriors.
Elik in the epistol formation with two running backs next
to him.
Speaker 4 (41:42):
He hands off the Williams.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
Williams tries to go to the right side and doesn't
really get anything. Maybe back to the line of scrimmage.
That was number zero there, Nathan Gray making the stop
for the Southeastern Panthers. So second and ten for the
Adena Warriors at the twenty nine yard line. Folks, if
(42:04):
you're looking for scores, you can go to our web
page WKKJ dot com and find the scores there on
the Mill City of Peril scoreboard. Again, that's WKKJ dot com.
Elick quick pass out to Francis. He's got a blocker
in front of him. He sheds a tackler and gets
upfield for about three yards, bringing up a manageable third
(42:28):
and seven.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Well, again, that's there's nothing really fancy about that. It's just,
you know, just getting a ball, the ball to your
athlete and letting him try to create something.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
This first quarter is brought to you by Home Loans
by Jen As we get to the seven minute mark
here in the fourth quarter with the Adena Warriors leading
thirteen to nothing and they have the ball on their
thirty one yard line, snap, little end around there, got
(43:00):
a face mass there and did not call it, but
they tried to get the ball.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
The Fischer showf a little.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
End around there and nothing. Doing their good job there
by number thirty Oats and also Nathan Gray.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
Yeah, really good job by Oates there.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
It was one on one on the outside and Oates
was able to wrap him up and bring him down.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
So that'll bring up a fourth and eleven for the Warriors,
as that was a loss of four on the play.
And back to kick for the Adena Warriors is Cameron
Stoops as he waits to snap back deep for the Southeastern.
Nice kick here, Southeast number fourteen gets the return. He's
(43:44):
coming to the right hand, left hand side. He's got
some room there, That was a nice move by Land
and Smith as he gets up to the forty yard
line of the Southeastern Panthers where they will start their
second offensive possession of the night with five fifty six
to go.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Yeah, really good punt there, almost too good. They were
able to bring him down, but he kind of almost
out kicked his coverage. As we say that, we've always
said about you and Maury that you out kick your coverage.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
No doubt about it, no doubt about it. Maybe if
loorie' is listening tonight, she heard that. We know your
wife is listening, Heather. We appreciate you tuning in and
listening to the favorite person in your life, your husband
and probably the second really close to first. Me H,
(44:39):
Southeastern throw out the oats. He gets up the field
for a nice game there. That's going to be a
gain of ten. So nice throw Thereby burns out the
oats and he gets up the field. Looks like that's
going to be a first down for the Southeastern Panthers
at the fifty yard line.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
So nice play there.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
Yeah, you could tell the offensive staf was trying to
get Burns into a rhythm there, just try to get
an easy completion and when you again, when you throw
it to a good athlete, he's able to kind of
make some plays on his own.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
I think sometimes they get into the idea of you
have this great player, we got to get him in
the game right away, and they tried to get the
ball to Cheetah a lot here. I think they're going
back into their normal offense and get in at some
of the other guys. So Burns away to snap here,
Cheatah out here to the left, Burns.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
Back to pass going. No, he's nice rush there by
the dean of worries. He was not able to get
his foot set and that was number fifty five sacks
hour in there quickly.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Yeah, there was just nowhere to go.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
They were on him right away and he never really.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
Had a chance to get a throw off.
Speaker 4 (45:47):
So it brings up a second down and fourteen.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
Talking about the offensive Southeastern Panthers, they were offensive coordinators
none other than a Hall of Famer over there, and
that's where on Hinton.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
Yeah, not a bad assistant coach.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
Those of you around us, there's probably many teams around
this area that have some type of run hitting connection
with a longevity that he had in the coaching profession
and now back helping out Larry Willoughby at Southeastern. So
Burns gets ready to take the snap, hands to Cheatle
going around the right hand side. He's got some room
(46:23):
he's going on and he steps out of bounce there
would be careful. I almost ran into.
Speaker 4 (46:29):
The yard marker there.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Hopefully he's okay, But that's going to be a nice
game there on the right side for Cheetle.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Yeah, just you know, had all the action coming one way,
gave it to Cheatle going the other and he was
able to make his way for about a twelve yard
game there.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
So that brings up a third down and two. We'll
call it.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Southeastern finally now into a Dina territory as they have
a little sustained drive going here. With four twenty to
go in the first quarter, Burns waits a snap in
the backfield. Two receivers to his left, Cheetle to his right,
motion of the tight end to the right side, hands
to Cheetle, and he's going to get enough for the
(47:14):
first down. So we'll give him a gain of three there.
That was Cheata in the backfield. I thought he was
on the right hand side there. They are moving him
all over the place. But that's going to be a
first down for Southeastern right at the forty yard line
of the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Yeah, and that's what you want to do, is you
want to give the defense something to think about. Don't
put him in the same spot every time, don't run
the same routes, move him around, get him in different positions,
and give the defense something to think about.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
And neither team here in hurry on the offensive side,
both both of them huddle up and take their time
to get to play in. So Southeastern breaks the huddle
and burns now in the backfield, awaits a snap, turn
looks downfield deep.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
That's Oates going down the right side. He goes up.
Speaker 1 (48:05):
I believe he out jumped both the fenders to get
that catch. And as Andrews said, that was a beautiful catch.
That's gonna take it down inside the ten yard line.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Well, Adina had him bracketed that the safety was over
the top.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
He saw it come in the whole way, and.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
It didn't matter because Gabriel Oates just went up and
made a great play on the ball.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
That's a thirty two yard pass play for another first
down for the Southeastern Panther. Three fifty seven and the
clock running here in the first quarter again nice design
play did a quick fake to the out and went
down the field to oats so as they await the
play coming in fans, Tonight's game will be available for
(48:46):
replay starting tomorrow morning. CLICKWKKJ dot com and look for
our podcast page or search WKKJ on the iHeartRadio app
or wherever you listen to podcasts. Breaks the huddle burns
under center for the first time, full house backfield looks
like turns hands it off to number seven. I believe
(49:10):
Dalan Henshaw that's the first time we've seen it. And
didn't we get a bumbo out of that.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
I think they're gonna say it was down lou.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
The Warriors came away with the ball and they were cheering,
but the referee says, Nope, we're gonna call it down
right here.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
They're gonna lose some on that play, and that's going
to bring up a second in goal now from the ten.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
Nope, they're gonna move it back up. They're gonna put
it at the five. They're gonna give him a gain
a two.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Huh there uh, There just was not much real estate
there to be had up the middle of the yard.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Line, so Southeastern breaks a huntwal second end goal from
the five yard line. Burns under center long count, turns
hand a cheetah. He may have taken too long. Somebody
moved on that. They're getting there, trying to run cheetah
(50:06):
around the right hand side there, but motion that's going
to back it up to the ten yard line now
brings up second and ten from our second and goal
from the ten yard line with two twenty to go
here in the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
They were asking all their linemen and all their receivers
to be set for a long time there, and one
of them eventually moved.
Speaker 4 (50:31):
Again.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
No play clock that we can see here at Bosty Field,
so we'll have to rely on the back judge. He's
at ten seconds now to go on the play clock.
Burns under center gets a motion to the left, turns,
tosses out here to cheetah and wow. Adina was in
the backfield very quickly, and I believe that was number
(50:53):
six Grady Hayden in there early. He did not get
the tackle, but he slowed him down a lot.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
Well, it looks like a dina on the interior that
defensive line is moving the line of scrimmage, they're able
to break through. So anything Southeastern does right now, it's
gonna have to be quick action. You can't have long
developing plays because there's just not enough time to make
it happen.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
Third and gold from the twelve here as Southeastern has
moved back since they got the ball down here inside
the ten. So now we're going to get Burns and
Cheetah in the backfield. Burns away to snap Cheetah to
his right, turns quick pass out to Cheetah, and wow,
that was almost intercepted by a poet as a later
(51:41):
role and that is picked up by the Warriors, So
that is going to be a turnover. And I believe
that was Rowlings who was the one out there that
not that ball loose. And again they call it a
later roal because it was a sideword pass and the
Warriors pick it up. And I don't know who the
gentleman was and picked it up there, but he raced
(52:03):
it down to about the thirty eight yard line of
the Southeastern Panthers. So wow, what the turn of events there.
Southeastern thinking we're going to get three points out of this.
Now it's going the other way with the Dana Warriors.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
Well, it was nt Rawlings, and he read it from
the very beginning. He saw exactly what was happening. He
came in, made the play and broke it up, and
to his credit, he didn't stop playing.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
Everyone else kind of stopped and kind of expected to
be called an incomplete pass, but he didn't stop and
he was able to pick it up and scoot down
the field.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
I think the referee was signaling like live ball, live ball,
and the Warriors are going to try to capitalize on
their second turnover the night of the Southeastern Panthers. So
Elick under center, he turns, he's going to hand off
the Williams.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
Williams finds it opening.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
Right up the middle, and he's going to get inside
the thirty yard line.
Speaker 4 (52:55):
Probably gain of nine on that.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
So that'd bring up a second and one here as
we go under one minute to go here in the
first quarter, the Adena Warriors brings up a second.
Speaker 4 (53:06):
Down and one.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
Yeah, it was really interesting for Southeastern on that last possession.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
They've kind of played wide open until they got tight
to the end zone and then they started playing really
tight offensively, and then it you know, once you do
that It kind of gets you out of rhythm, and
they just weren't able to capitalize on the field position.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Re receivers out here to the right for the Warriors.
Elick scrambles to the right and.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
He finds some opening and he's gonna get Oh, it's
going to be on the ground. It's gonna be a
fumble and that's going to be recovered by the Southeastern Panthers.
So as he was trying to get some extra yardage,
he loses the ball. He goes down on the field
and the flags that were thrown was for the turnover.
So he got downfield about fifteen yards and he turns
(53:53):
it over. And again that's what coach Hurt was talking about,
we cannot hurt ourselves. And there's a case where the
Warriors had an opportunity and they turn it over here
with two point six seconds left.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
Yeah, unfortunately they that's played them all season so far,
and you know so at some points, as one of
the players, you have to take it upon yourself to say.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
No matter what, I am not going to give this
football up. But Southeastern again has a chance to rebound
and we'll see what kind of drive they can put
together here.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
So one play left here in this quarter, two point
six seconds. The Southeastern Panthers have the ball first and
ten on their own fifteen yard line. So you're gonna
get two receivers out to the right, one to the left.
That's Gauge Cheetle Burns in the backfield with Dylan Hanshaw.
Burns gets a snap hands, No, he fakes it. He
(54:46):
keeps it right up the middle, and he's going to
get a game of about five yards on the play
up to the twenty and that's going to bring us
to the end of the first quarter. This is the
adena accurate heating. I'm sorry, this is the accurate heating, cooling,

Speaker 1 (56:12):
Welcome back to Adina High School where the Warriors lead
the Southeastern Panthers thirteen to nothing as we get ready
to start the second quarter. Second quarter is brought to
you by Shine on Chilicoby dot org. Around the Southeastern
Conference or Sciota Valley Conference tonight, you have this game here.
You have Unioto at Hontington, Westfalls at Paint Valley, and
(56:35):
Zane Trace is at Piked in Week one of the SBC.
Tonight on another beautiful Friday night.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Perfect, It's perfect. That Zean trace Pithon game is intrigues
me a little bit. I'll be interesting to see how
that one turns out.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
Yeah, Zaint Tray's coming off their first loss of the season.
How are they going to react? And that Piketon team
can put points on the board.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
Quickly, there's no question about it.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
So second down in seven for Southeastern, burns Away to snap.
Two receivers to his right, one to the left. He
keeps it, No, he pitches it out to Cheetle quickly,
so quick, little option play to the left.
Speaker 4 (57:13):
He's going to gain about three. It's going to bring.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Up a third down and four for the Southeastern Panthers.
Speaker 4 (57:21):
Nice little play there.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
Yeah, again, just trying to find different ways to get
the ball in different spots and just a little straight,
little option play there. Cheetah was able to grind out
a few yards.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
So again waiting on the play kind of traditionally send
in plays with a.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Player, yeah, with a wide receiver usually.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
So third and four for Southeastern from the from their
own I should say thirty three yard line. Two receivers
to the right, one to the left. Cheetle with Burns
in the backfield, hands off the cheetle going around the
left and again a great job there.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
I don't think you got it.
Speaker 4 (58:05):
I don't think so either.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
I believe that was a garrison coming from his defensive end.
And I know you know you probably didn't prepare for
Cheatle to be in this game, but they have quickly
adjusted and they know where he is at all times.
Speaker 3 (58:21):
Yeah, it's been impressive. And I don't know that you
even knowing that he's gonna play. I don't know that
you know that they're gonna use him as much as
they have, but they've gone to him early.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
And often there.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
So it looks like a punt here by Southeastern. Jacob
Borland back in punt formation, but it is only fourth
and two, so see if we can't maybe Southeastern looking
to draw him off sides and get a first down
out of this back deep for the Warriors is shoff
in Francis snap back to Borland, he gets to kick off.
(58:55):
It's going to be a sideways kick, stays in Southeastern territory,
still rolling positive for the Warriors, and it's going to
come down to the forty one yard line of Southeastern.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
So Warrior is going to get.
Speaker 1 (59:08):
Good field position to start this offensive possession on Southeastern
forty one yard line.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
Yeah, only about a seventeen yard punt kind of went
off the side of his foot there. And again you know,
Adina's had the ball twice now with a chance to
go up thirty possessions against Southeastern, and feel like if
you just take advantage of that, you can really put
this game in a tough spot for Southeastern.
Speaker 4 (59:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
Again, great field position to start this drive for Adena
and see if they can't capitalize on it. Southeastern, tell
you what things have been going against you. And we're
still having a conversation. We've got a lot of conversations
here by these officials. So coach Willoughby out on the
(59:54):
field now talking to the referees about something.
Speaker 3 (59:57):
It looks like maybe they sent someone off for some
reason and maybe equipment or something.
Speaker 43 (01:00:01):
But a.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
Lot of talking going on down there, but no motion
for us. So referee now coming over towards Oh, no.
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Dead ball personal foul on the Warriors. We have a
dead ball personal foul on the Warriors.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
So that is going to move the ball back now
to the forty five yard line of the Dean Warriors.
Now so that's where they're going to start this possession.
So I didn't see what happened. I didn't even see
a flag on the field. They must be calling penalties
with no flags being thrown.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
The second time we've seen that tonight where we haven't
seen a flag and they call something.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
But we'll see what happens.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
Helik under center turns hands off, quick hand off right
up the middle. I believe that is U Grady Hayden carry.
And I'll tell you what, Hayden is a very active
football player.
Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
I've got to listen as he is a freshman, and
he's he's a really strong kid, and he's a kid
that's only going to get better from here.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Gain of four right up the middle of their brings
up a second down and six for the Warriors at
their own forty nine yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
And let you think about a team like Adena that's
maybe struggled the.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
First few weeks. But you're talking about a freshman running back.
You've got a center on the offensive line. He's a freshman.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
Sometimes for those guys, it takes a few weeks, It
takes a few times out there to see what it's like.
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
And Williams tries to get around the right hand side
and he's unable to great job there by Tyler cuttwright
from his defensive end position to bring Williams down for
about a two yard loss. So that's going to bring
up a third down and nine.
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Yeah, probably gonna see what Ethan Elik is able to
do here on third down with his arm again, probably
trying to get Francis or Shaw or maybe even Garrison
the ball here.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Well, you got three receivers over here to the left
hand side of those two you mentioned, Elick back gets
the ball out.
Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
To Rowlins quickly.
Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
But great job there by number eleven of the Southeastern
Panthers to get through those blocks and.
Speaker 4 (01:02:18):
Get the tackle made for a loss. That's going to
be a loss of two on that play, is going
to bring it down up a fourth down.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
And eleven for the Adana Warriors, So that penalty really
hurt aDNA. You know, yes, they had a first and ten,
but getting moved back into their own territory just sort
of a negative start.
Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
To that offensive possession was.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
Again Southeastern's kind of hanging around here, you know, not
letting this thing get out of hand, and you feel
like if they can just put one good drive together.
It's going to change the whole trajectory of this game.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Cameron stoops, punt, goes oh, and there's a fumble again
and it looks like the Adena Warriors did they recover it,
and I believe they did, so that is going to
be the Adena ball. Number fourteen tried to come up
and get that ball for Southeastern Landon Smith and he
(01:03:16):
got tackled as that happened, and the ball jarred loose
and the Adena Warriors are able to pounce on it,
and it's going to be first and ten from the
seventeen yard line. So again another opportunity for the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
Seeing how close Colton Garrison was to him when he
went to field that ball, I was kind of surprised
he did it, but Colton kind of laid one on
him there and forced the ball to come loose.
Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
We've got all kind of issues here with personnel for
the Warriors. They're running guys on and off the field here.
See if we don't get up maybe a time out. Nope,
we're going to see the play run. Elick scrambles out
here to his left, find Shaw fights a lot of
room and he gets into the end zough that is
a seventeen yard touch down pass from Elick to Shoff,
(01:04:03):
so those two have touchdowns on their own. Now they
hook up for a seventeen yard touchdown pass with seven
forty eight.
Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
To go here in the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
So on the last play that Adena ran, they ran
kind of something similar to there, and in both plays,
Joey Francis was the blocker.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
He missed the block on the play where a Dina.
Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Lost shortage, but it was really impressive there to see
him come back take that opportunity and put on a
great block and Fishershoff was not touched as he ran to.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
The end zone because of how good the block was.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Yeah, and again they just got him out there to
where they had more guys than what the Southeastern Panthers
did and they were able to get it into the
end zone. So it looks like Adena is going to
go for two here. Up nineteen to nothing, they're going
to try for a two point conversion. So we're gonna
get Joey Francis wide to the right shot now joins
him that way. Elick in the backfield scrambles that way
(01:05:01):
looking for I believe that's Joey Francis.
Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
Garrison Coche Garrison.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
And that two point conversion is good, so that now
brings the score to the Adena Warriors twenty one in
the Southeastern Panthers.
Speaker 4 (01:05:19):
Zero was seven forty eight to go here in the
second quarter.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):

Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
Codell's kick goes all the way down to the fifteen
yard line. You have a return by Landon Smith all
the way up to the thirty two yard lines, and
that's where the Southeastern Panthers will take over.
Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
Again, we're having referees discussions all over the places. They
don't throw any flags, so I'm not sure if there's
a penalty or nine.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Well, lots of conversations. I really like what Adeena is
doing right now with Ethan. He looks they're moving him
outside the pocket. They're not having him to sit back there,
and he's doing a really nice job and.
Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Making the right read on the run right now with
his arm.
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
So Burns now awaits a snap. You have two receivers
to the right, one to the left. It's like Handshaw
in the backfield, very slow motion. There By Southeastern Burns
throws it out here to Oates.
Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
Oates got some room out here. He's out to the
forty he's going to.
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
Get thrown out of bounce about the forty two yard
line there by number thirteen for the Warriors Mosers Mosser. Sorry,
so that'll bring up second and one.
Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
That was a gain of nine. Nice little pass there by.
Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Burns Oates is a really good athlete and he's uh,
he's he's getting open right now and he has all
their senior yards, which is uh. He has three receptions
for fifty one yards here in the early going.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
So second and one from the forty six yard line,
I'm sorry, the forty one yard line of Southeastern Cheetah
out here to the right to receivers to the left,
Burns awaits a snap, he gets it fake hand off
looking for somebody. He's gonna get taken into backfield by
the Adena worries. I believe that is Garrison again, and
(01:08:32):
Garrison is just getting in there quickly.
Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
Colton's a really strong kid, and if you're gonna try
to block him, it's gonna be a rough night.
Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
And that's going to bring up a third down, So
no game.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
While they're going to lose a yard on that, that's
going to bring up a third to two now for
the Southeastern Panthers with seven oh three to go and
the clock running here in the first half. Following to games,
Friday Night Live joined hosts Tim Skags for a look
at all the scores across the region and interviews with coaches.
(01:09:07):
Listen after the game until midnight for Friday Night Live,
presented by Accurate Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing here on ninety
four Country, w KKJ and Buckeye Country one oh five
point five. Burns takes a snap, try to go right
up the middle, and then nothing going the interior of
the Adda Warriors defensive line. Chuck Sacks hour, Colton Garrison
(01:09:28):
get in there, I believe, also Grady Hayden for a
loss of one. So that's now going to bring up
a fourth and three from the Southeastern forty now thirty
nine yard line. So we'll see what Southeastern does. Looks
like the punning.
Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
Team, Yeah, it looked early on like they were gonna
stay on the field, but they brought the punting unit
on the adena. There is nothing available right now for
Southeastern on the interior. Everything they have to they're gonna
be able to do is gonna have to be on the.
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
So the Southeastern Panthers in pun formation. Again, it's less
than five yards, so be careful, maybe try and dry
them them offside. Portland gets to snap his kick. Nice
kick that's going to be fair caught by Shop right
at the thirty yard line for the Adena Warriors. So
with five forty three to go here in the first half,
Adena now takes over offense on their own thirty yard line.
(01:10:28):

they've had they found some success.
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
Ethan Helix's four for four right now.
Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
Well, that's gonna be a quick handoff to the right
hand side going nowhere, and I believe that is uh
hated on the carrier and he's going to lose some
yardage on that and that's going to take him whiley
He even cut the pushback there, so that was a
loss of six on that play. That brings up a
second down in sixteen Andrew, we got a listener in
(01:11:31):
Kentucky tonight. Wow, my wife has tuned in, So I
bet her straighten up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
Yeah, yeah, no, but she is.
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
The love of my life, yes, no question.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
She's going to see an awful lot of me here
more in about two weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
Yeah, and I finally retired to teaching. Is right on
the doorstep.
Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Wheres Elick coming to the right hand side, looking now
to find some room.
Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
He gets up the field a little bit. He's going
to He had some positive ylarreadach dot it. He had
three guys downfield, only two receives or defenders back there,
but he just couldn't get his foot set to get
it downfield. He got what he could.
Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
Yeah, he did.
Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
He took a shot from Brayton Burns too. He didn't
see him coming and Braiden there.
Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Oh, Braiden says, you know what, on my side when
I'm back there as quarterback, these warriors are all over me.
So I'm gonna get some shots in now. So third
down in thirteen for the Adena Warriors, with four nineteen
to go here in the first half, from their own
twenty eight yard line, Warriors come out with three receivers
to the right. Eli goes to the right. He's looking
(01:12:40):
downfield again season oh one. So he's going to try
to run it as far as he can. He's gonna
get knocked out a bounce, gets close up, probably all
the way up to about the forty yard line, and
that's going to bring up maybe a fourth and one.
Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Yeah, it didn't look like he was going to get
into work close to the first down marker, but he
was going hard and put his shoulder down and got
a couple extra yards from that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
So interesting decision here for the Words. With four minutes
to go here in the first half. Do you go
forward fourth and one, maybe try to draw him off
sides fourth and one, or do you.
Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
Just let Eli go straight up the field? So now
what do we got?
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Looks like maybe aDNA call the time out loop all.
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
Right, both teams going to their respective benches. I didn't
see a signal by the referee, but we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Yeah, this is a tough call on fourth down, you know, I.
Speaker 4 (01:13:38):
Think Oh, we're going to get a measurement. Oh okay,
I don't think we've had one of these on your
leaven it. So from up here it looks like he's
a little short. What do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Yeah, I think he's a little bit short. And it's
an interesting call. If if you get it, you know great.
If you don't, you get Southeastern a pretty good, pretty
good field position and.
Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
The opportunity to score right before halftime, which can shift
them into this game.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
There was a veteran move there by coach got hurt ask.
Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
After the little little time out action out without a timeout,
But you saw that Egoye had it right on the
right on the spot there. So fourth and one here
for the Adena Warriors from their own forty one yard line. Sure,
we're going to see a tight formation here and again
they may try to go on a hard count here,
(01:14:28):
try to draw them off sides.
Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
No, they go on a quick count and Elick right
up the middle and he's going to go. He's still going,
he's still going. He's going to get a gain of
thirteen yards out of that. He got up through there
so quick and found a.
Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
Gap that the Southeastern defense didn't know where he was
and he almost escaped that.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Well, and at the end of the run he was
dragging about five guys with him. So a really couple
of impressive back to back runs by Ethan Ellick there.
Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
So again the great call there by the Idea Warriors
to go for it on fourth and that pays off
for them. So first and ten here on the forty
seven yard line of the Southeastern Panthers with three point
thirty to go here in the first half, clock running,
(01:15:18):
Diana Warriors break the huddle.
Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
Elick in the pistol.
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Formation, looks for a quick pass and now he can't
find anybody. Now he's going deep for Joey Francis. Francis
tries to go up, but the defender there, number fourteen
did a good job of staying right there with him.
Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
That was Land and Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Yeah, Land and never turned around and found the ball.
But he also did a really good.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
Job of not creating contact that he was gonna get
called a penalty again, we're going to get a time
out here by Southeastern.
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Interesting time out there, but again, yeah, you were right
on that no contact. He never turned around, but never
made contact, did a good job of staying away. Yeah,
we got three fifteen to go here in the first half,
time out Southeastern. Second and ten for the Adena Warriors.
I tell you what, this first half, aDNA has taken
(01:16:10):
care or taken the most of them, made the most
of their opportunities, I should say. And that's why they
lead twenty one to nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
Yeah, they have.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
And you know they've done a good job of moving
Ethan around a lot in the pocket and then also
giving them opportunities to run. And you know they're they're
just taking, like you said, advantage of the opportunities in
front of them.
Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
Again, fans, tonight's game will be available for a replay

(01:16:54):
in about two weeks, I'm maybe on a boat in
the middle of the ocean listening to you.
Speaker 15 (01:16:59):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Well, we'll give you a shout out that night.
Speaker 4 (01:17:02):
I appreciate it. So.
Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
Second and ten here for the Adena Warriors. As we
are under clock running here three point fifteen to go.
Schoff going around the right hand side, finds a lot
of opening over there.
Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
Great job there by Elick.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
Of carrying out his fake to the left that allowed
Shoff a lot of opening on the right.
Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
He's going to get all the way down the sideline.
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
To the looks like the twenty six yard line, and
that's going to be a first indent for the Adena Warriors.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Well, they had run that exact same play going the
other way earlier in the game and didn't get anything
out of it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
Broke it back out again and that time got a
Fisher Shoff in space. And he's going to make things
happen when that is the case.
Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
Well, he certainly has made things happen here tonight the
ninety yard kickoff return to start the game, and he
also has a touchdown pass that he has received up
the middle.
Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
Is Greedy or Hayden all the way down to another
first down. That's a twelve yard game right off the
middle by Grady Hayden for a first down for the
Adena Warriors with two fifty eight to go. Clock has
stopped with the first down Warrior.
Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
And we get to the clock running now again with fifty
to go, here in the first half.
Speaker 3 (01:18:22):
Really impressed with especially as a freshman, just how strong
he is.
Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
He is so hard to bring down.
Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
The first guy is not usually doing it by himself,
it's taking multiple guys.
Speaker 4 (01:18:31):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
Adena, the the Adena offense has struggled early in the year,
but here tonight they are. They've come ready to play. Yeah,
he lay cans off. I believe that's Williams.
Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Yea.
Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
He slipped as he got it and wasn't able to
regain his footing and make anything happen.
Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
So that's going to be a loss of one brings
down a second down and eleven as the clock continues
to run here with two fifteen to go in the
first half, and again the Adena Warriors lost to Greenfield
McClain twenty to nothing and then lost to col Grove
Cole Grove Dawson Bryant. And so those two teams early
(01:19:12):
in the season are are pretty good teams. So you know,
maybe that had a lot to do with the offense.
Helik back to pass here as he rolls to his left,
cannot find anybody. He's gonna tuck it and run. He's
got some room, man, He actually rans somebody over. Wow,
for a quarterback. That's pretty good. He's gonna get a
first down all the way inside the five yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:19:34):
How do you like that for the quarterback running out.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
Well, it's the second time he's done it. He's on
the sideline. You kind of expect him just.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
To step out and just to take the yards that
he's gotten. But he lowers his shoulder, puts it through
a guy and goes and gets three extra arts. And
as a teammate, when you see your quarterback doing that,
you love it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:52):
So the Adena Warriors here with one forty three to
go in the first half, have the ball first and
ten on the the three yard line, or first and
goal on the three yard line, getting ready to possibly
score here again before they go into halftime. Elick waits
a snap, rolls to his right, looking downfield, looking downfield,
(01:20:15):
throws it and bobbled by Colton Garrison found him opening.
That was the same play they ran with a two
point conversion where they were successful.
Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
This time he bobbled it a little bit and was
unable to hold on to it. Well, it was kind
of out of his reach a little bit. He made
a valuing effort on the way down to try to
haul it in but it just got out of his grasp.
Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
So it brings up a second and goaling out from
the three yard line for the Warriors. Clock stopped at
one thirty seven to go. Elick brings into play after
talking to coach Hurt on the sidelines, Warriors taking their
(01:20:59):
time to get to the line of scrimmage. Back judge
getting ready to put his hand up, hand off the
Grady Hayden and he's going to get all the way.
Speaker 4 (01:21:09):
Into the end zone for a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
He found a little opening there on the right hand side,
gets it all the way through virtually untouched for a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
Three yard touchdown run by Grady Hayden.
Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Well, he was really patient there. He had the ball
and saw kind of what was happening in front of him.
Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
Didn't try to force something that wasn't there.
Speaker 4 (01:21:28):
Oh oh I does this crew not use flags?
Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:21:36):
Man, So that's going to be a flag for holding,
So take away the touchdown. So there's Scott Hurt talking
about how they hurt themselves sometimes. So touchdown nullified by
a holding call, and that's.
Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
Going to bring down a second and goal. All the
way back from the thirteen yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
Elick back to pass looking downfield looking for Joey. Francis
overthrew him in the left hand side of the end zone.
Speaker 3 (01:22:12):
Yeah, I had him. Joey ran a great route there,
just out in front of him a little too far.
Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
Couldn't get the completion.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
So that's going to bring up a third end goal
with one twenty six to go here for the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
Of a little bit of a difference here is Braydon
Burns was oh for his first three passing, he's completed
his last three. Ethan Elik completed his first four, he's
missed his last three. The difference is Ethan running the
football has been really really effective.
Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
For the wars Yeah, they get him out there either
to the right or left hand side, and he's not
afraid to tuck in and go elick under center. This
time he's going to hand off the shof again coming
around the outside. He's going to get all the way
into the end for a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
Let's make sure test no pedalence here.
Speaker 4 (01:23:04):
Doesn't look like it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
So again that's going to be a thirteen yard shof
run again. They've run that place very successful, this time
around the left hand side.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
So at thirteen yard TD run by Fischer Schaff.
Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
Again a kid that's just really really athletic and make
things happen, and you just want to put him in
a position to let him beat somebody.
Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
And that's what he did.
Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
And the kick is up and again it looks like
it was blocked from the line of scrimmage, so that
attempt is no good. So that'll bring the score to
twenty seven to nothing the Adeno Warriors. You're listening to
the accurate heating, cooling, and plumbing game of the Week

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
Got it to kick off for the Warriors back Deepest
Smith and Oates. This one's gonna come to Oats at
the twenty two yard line. He goes straight up the middle.
He's got some opening now he breaks to the left
hand side. He's gonna being brought down at the forty
three yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:25:16):
Of Southeastern forty four.
Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
I should say, and Andrew want eleven to go here
from Southeastern. You get a score here before halftime, you're
gonna get the ball back to start the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:25:26):
Yeah, And that's the only way that you kind of
feel like you have a path to winning this game.
You have to score here.
Speaker 3 (01:25:33):
You have to come out of halftime and use that
possession and score. Otherwise you're just talking about a deficit
that is probably just too much to come back from.
Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
And I believe they have two timeouts as well. So
we're gonna get Cheetah out to the left hand side,
two receivers to the right, Burns in the backfield, waits
a snap. He's rolling to his rights, looking downfield, deep
downfield to Smith and he gets it a nice catch.
(01:26:03):
He goes up there, finds a little opening in the defense.
That play is going to gain about say twenty one
yards on that play and the clock now running right
at a minute. So first and ten for southeast from
Panthers at the thirty nine yard line of the Warriors
(01:26:25):
clock running. Panthers great the huddle, two receivers out to
the left, Cheetah out here to the right, Burns in
the backfield with Henshaw wait to snap, gets it, looks
to his left trying to find somebody. It is tipped
tipped by number two Rawlings as he was coming from
(01:26:45):
his linebacker position. Thirty six point six seconds here in
the first half. That's going to bring up a second
down to ten.
Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
Grant Rawlings has been really really active in this first
half defensively.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
He has just kind of been all over the place
making plays and you'd love to see a kid like
that as a senior setting the example for everybody else.
Speaker 1 (01:27:05):
So second and ten Panthers now breaking the hundred two receivers.
Oats out to the left, Oats and mcwarter smith out
here and Cheetah in the backfield with Burns. Burns looking
for Cheetoh's going deep down the right hand side from
(01:27:25):
his backfield position and he goes up and it's going
to be I.
Speaker 4 (01:27:29):
Believe, intercepted or yes, intercepted by the Warriors, and that
is number nine, right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
Yeah, Joey Francis.
Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
It was one on one and we talked about that
battle between those two one on one, just a little
bit under thrown by Burns and Joey went up and
made a great cut and.
Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
He did a great job. And you're thinking about basketball terms.
Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
He boxed the offensive guy out, he got to a
spot where only he could get it, and he went
up and got it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:57):
I think a jumping contest between those two helped in
the air and he got it.
Speaker 15 (01:28:01):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
So Warriors now have the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:28:05):
Third turnover I believe, with the first half for Southeastern
Warrior ball on their own ten yard line. I don't
think they're gonna see anything tricky here twenty eight point
five seconds ago, and Nelux is gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:28:17):
Take a need to end this first half.
Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
And if you're the Adena Warriors, you have got to
be excited about how this first half went. If you're
the Southeastern Panthers, you got a lot to talk about.
Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
There and make some adjustment.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
Yeah, if you're a DNA, you can't draw it up
any better than the way it happened. If you're Southeastern,
I think you have to be a little.
Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Disappointed in not being able to take advantage of some
opportunities that presented themselves. So they're going to halftime and
get it straightened out and we'll see what the second
half holds.
Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
So again, the first half score is the Adena Warriors
twenty seven in the Southeastern Panthers zero. Coming up is
the Audio Technica halftime report on accurate heating, cooling, and
Plumbing Game of the Week on ninety four Country w KKJ.

In this station, hometown high school football coverage continues. Today's

Speaker 45 (01:31:50):
Welcome into the halftime huddle. Week number four of high
school football has reached to the midway point. Here on iHeartRadio,
my name's Todd Walker.
Speaker 47 (01:32:00):
Prepridzone, Ohio's Jared Loganville is with us now on the program.
We are set to talk about the best juniors in
the state of Ohio, or as they call them, the
Class of twenty seven. And certainly, when you get to
be a junior, if you're at a high level, the
power schools already have an eye on you, if not
(01:32:20):
have made offers, and some guys have already even early
accepted perhaps are committed. So these are players that are
making a huge impact as juniors. Jared, let's run through
your top five.
Speaker 48 (01:32:34):
Yeah, as you said, Todd, they're definitely at a point
in their recruiting career where things have usually picked up
if they're one of the top talents, and that definitely
goes for the young men. We're going to talk about today.
At number five, we have the Angelo White. The Angelo
has Power five offers from from Ohio State among the
bevvy of Power four schools. The big tight end from
(01:33:01):
via Angelo via Angela, Saint John, Saint Joseph's sorry, easy
for me to say it is a really athletic, talented
tight end who has great size six five two thirty
forty as as a junior, is very physically gifted young man. Again,
(01:33:22):
he's able to win both physically with his strength, but
he can also win with his athletics and an ability
to have fluid hits and get in and out of
breaks and do things that that smaller receivers typically do
but not young men his size as a tight end.
So obviously DiAngelo is a very talented young man up
(01:33:45):
in the Cleveland area, and he's a guy that you know,
I think even this fall with with more film is
going to pick up even more attraction when it comes
to power for schools around the country. At number four,
we have an Selin Higgins Junior. He is a junior
at Anderson High School in the Cincinnati area of the
(01:34:07):
Eastern Cincinnati Conference. Antoine is a six forward two hundred
and twenty pounds and he's a linebacker edge. He's a
guy that probably is going to be playing on the
line of scrimmage and at two point at the next
level where he can just be athletic in space. But
because of his athleticism, he's a guy that's going to
(01:34:29):
be able to drop off line of scrimmage and cover.
He's also going to be a guy that can really
bend the edge and gets to the quarterback and really
be versatile one that way where defensive coordinators are going
to be able to kind of use them in different
ways where the offense isn't really going to know what
he might be doing on any certain play based on
what you know the defense is calling. And so antoine
(01:34:53):
As offers from from Ohio State, from Alabama, from school
schools like out over the country Oregon. So very talent
of young maners who's you know, it's kind of physically
been a head of the curve his whole high school career,
you know, as far as town as well.
Speaker 6 (01:35:11):
So, uh.
Speaker 48 (01:35:12):
Number three Jalen Mercer, another kid from the Cincinnati area
from Wenton Woods. He's six ft five, two hundred and
thirty five pounds. Even as a freshman Jalen was was
picking up offers from schools like USC you know, and
other schools that you know are major power for players.
(01:35:35):
Jalen is a kid with a defensive end with a
basketball background. You know, he you can see it in
his footwork and his athleticism, his ability to as I said,
with the others bend and and really get off off
the edge as a as a defensive end. And again
not typical type of athleticism and speed for for a
(01:35:57):
kid who's six five in two hundred and forty pounds,
and so, you know, I had a chance to really
start getting his first big time varsity action last year,
really held his own. This year, I'm looking for him
to take another step as a it was a defensive
lineman at the at the varsity level, and really continue
(01:36:18):
to bank on that that talent that he has. His
younger brother actually is one of the tough basketball players
in the country in the twenty twenty nine class and
has gone to you know, is top ten, I want
to say in basketball. So very talented and athletic family
(01:36:39):
for the Mercers. At number two, we have eighth Alston
who's actually at Anderson High School via talent for mister
Dryer or Chrich dryer down there. Aith Alston is another
young man and is at quarterback as a kid who's
just really athletic, and Verry has always been very comfortable
(01:37:00):
in space and very confident, and one of the things
that I really look for in the cornerback position. It's
not just your speed and your your athleticism and all
of that, but just from from a mindset where you
come from, because it's a position where on one play
you might get burnt, and on the next play you
gotta you got to buckle up and you know, win
(01:37:23):
that next one. And Ace is one that's never lacking
in confidence, but also has a physical traits. He's he's
five ten, has long arms, one hundred and sixty pounds,
he's he's got the athleticism pretty much match up with
you know, any kind of receivers. He's strong enough and
getting stronger to where he can body guys at the
(01:37:44):
line of experiment really take them off their routes and
off their timing. So he's another kid who has offers
from pretty much every powerful conference in the country and
really is uh, you know, going to have have his
pick up of where you want to go. To school
at the next level, and at number one, we have
Jamiir Brown. Some call him showtime. Jamiir is committed to
(01:38:07):
Ohio State. It's all you know. In week one play
against Fairfield, you know, just an explosive athlete, six one
hundred and seventy five pounds, one hundred.
Speaker 6 (01:38:18):
And seventy pounds.
Speaker 48 (01:38:19):
He's actually won as a freshman in the state Division
one one hundred meters dash at you know, hundred ten
point five seconds. I believe, so just not just a
football fast, but a track elite track fast type of receiver.
And in one of the things when you look at
receivers at our track pass, a lot of them are
(01:38:41):
just fast. Jamiir actually can run routes. He's a guy
that will not just create separation just vertically by just
running past guys. He's a guy that can break off
routes and really create separation underneath and just keep keep
defenders constantly guessing on what he's doing. So obviously you
have a have a sophomore offer and be able to
(01:39:05):
commit to Ohio State. You're a very talented young man,
and Jamieor is definitely that, and not just as a receiver.
In Week one he took a ninety seven yard kickoff
touchdown or kickoff back for a touchdown. So can also
do things in the special teams game to affect winning
(01:39:26):
for your team. So coach to day, coach Heartline are
getting really good want from this lean product in Jamior
Brown and we have ranked number one in the Ohio
class for twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 47 (01:39:37):
That's Jared levanvill with Prep brid Zone Ohio and rankings

Welcome back to Adena High School where the Warriors lead
the Southeast from Panthers twenty seven to nothing. Looking at
the scoring in the first half, Fitcher Shop started everything
out with the ninety yard kickoff return. That's the opening
kickoff A Diena led seven to nothing. Ethan Alik then
went on a two yard run. Extra coin was no
(01:43:08):
good and the Warriors led thirteen to nothing. Adena scores
in the second quarter was seven forty.
Speaker 4 (01:43:13):
Eight to go.
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Ethan Elik to Fisher Shoff on a seventeen yard pass
two point conversion was good.
Speaker 4 (01:43:20):
Score.
Speaker 1 (01:43:20):
There was twenty one to nothing and Adena scored with
one twenty to go in first half Fisher shof this
time at thirteen yard run.
Speaker 4 (01:43:30):
Extra point was no good.
Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
That's where we stand at twenty seven to nothing. You
got some first half stats are Andrew.
Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
I do for Southeastern passing?
Speaker 3 (01:43:39):
They were Braden Burns was four of nine for seventy
five yards with an interception, also the fumble that led
to Adena. You know, driving down the field games Cheatle
has twelve yards rushing and that's all they have rushing.
Gay Boats has had a really nice first half. Were
(01:44:00):
receiving three catches for fifty one yards for Adena. Ethan
Elik four of seven for twenty seven yards passing, but
where he is really shined is running the football. He
has six carries for fifty nine yards. As a team,
they have one hundred and seven yards rushing. Hayden has
chipped in with sixteen yards, Fisher shoff with twenty eight
(01:44:22):
yards and a touchdown, and then receiving this you know,
Joey Francis couple catches for fourteen yards, Fisher Shaw a
catch for seventeen yards. But really it's been a story
of a Dina taking advantage of opportunities in Southeastern hasn't
been able to.
Speaker 1 (01:44:42):
So again that's where we stand here at halftime. Adina
wars twenty seven nothing over the Southeastern Panthers. You're listening
to the Audio Technica halftime report here on ninety four

Speaker 1 (01:46:10):
Warrior scores Dena Warriors twenty seven nothing over Southeast and
around the SBC this week in the second quarter, Unioto
leeds Huntington twenty one to nothing. At half it is
West Fall twenty eight to nothing over Paint Valley and
also at the half is Zane Trace twenty eight to
six over Pikedon. We also have a Circleville score Circle
(01:46:33):
Bill fourteen to eight at halftime over Logan Elms.
Speaker 4 (01:46:36):
So those are some of the scores around the area.
Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Well, probably not what we expected coming into this game
here going into the second half, but Adina.
Speaker 4 (01:46:48):
Made the most of some opportunities they had in the
first half. What do you need to see happen at
second half?
Speaker 3 (01:46:52):
Well, I think if you're a Dina, you want to
continue to do the things that you've done and and
don't get satisfied, don't get slopt be come out. And
you know, when I'm in this situation as a coach,
I always try to give my guys goals, right, so
you know we've held them to twelve yards rushing here
in the first half. Let's keep that to under forty
for the game, right, keep that focus on continuing to
(01:47:15):
be in an attack mode both offensively and defensively, and
not being satisfied. I think for Southeastern, you know, a
lot of it comes back to ball security, just taking
care of the football, not giving it away. And you know,
what you do on this first drive is going to
kind of set the tone for the second half, but
it's also going to set the tone for what next
(01:47:37):
week looks like. So you have to take advantage of
this opportunity to get better here in the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:47:43):
If you're Southeastern man again, they are going to get
the ball here to start the second half, and we'll
have that second half kickoff here when we come back.

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Back at Adena High School in Bostic Field here where
the Warriors lead Southeastern Panthers twenty one to nothing here
in the half. Looking into next week, Andrew, the Adena
Warriors will stay here at home and they will be
playing the Paint Valley Bear Cuts. That'll be homecoming here
(01:49:30):
for Adena. This year they get to play the homecoming
game at home. It's awesome how that works out. That
goes with all the Spirit week things. And then the
dance at the end of the week. So a lot
of big stuff that happens when it's a homecoming.
Speaker 3 (01:49:44):
There is and it's a fun time. It also based
on how you've played tonight. If you're Adena, I think
you have to feel better about going into that game
next week. You've gained some confidence, You've got some momentum
hopefully that you carry in the second half and that game.
You feel better about going into that game next week,
I think.
Speaker 1 (01:50:04):
And as you look at Southeastern, they continue their road
warrior mentality as they will stay on the road again.
This will be week number four of four straight road
games next week going up to west Fall, and we
saw what west Fall can do, and we see what
west Fall is doing this week.
Speaker 4 (01:50:22):
Yeah, so that'll be a tough task as well.
Speaker 43 (01:50:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
West Fall is a team that I think is only
going to get better throughout the course of the season too.
So again, if you're Southeastern, you have to use this
have to get better because you know it's not going
to get easier throughout the rest of your schedule, so
you have to get better. You have to find ways
to improve here in the second half.
Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
And we mentioned I didn't get any updates this week
on aj Pauditz, who went out of the game last
week with a shoulder injury, someone that they thought maybe
it'd be a separated shoulder or a broken collar bone.
I did not hear anything tonight. They're up twenty eight
to nothing at halftime. So if he's in the game, great,
If not, they've done a good job. We saw how
(01:51:02):
offensively they powerful. They were in the second half.
Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
Yeah, when Everly came in and performed really, really well
for a kid that hadn't played that position in a
long time. So they're a team that has good athletes,
They've got a good offensive line, and they're going to
present problems for a lot of teams.
Speaker 1 (01:51:19):

And look at all the scores on the Mill City
Apparel scoreboard. Again, that's WKKJA dot com Mill City Apparel Scoreboard.
As we get ready to start saying half here, the
Adena Warriors will be kicking off to the Southeastern Panthers.
So we'll be kicking from the south to north. That's
the right to your left on your radio dial.
Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
And again this will be.
Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
A big first series for the Southeastern. So back deep
four of the Panthers will be number fourteen, that is
Landing Smith at number thirty, Gabriel Oats, and the kickoff
will come from Coddel of the Warriors. He kicks it,
(01:52:47):
that thing's gonna go all the way to the end
zone for a touchback landed right between the two receivers
at about the ten yard line and trickled all the
way into the end zone. So the Southeastern Panthers will
start their second half possession here on their own twenty
yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:53:03):
Yeah, we've talked a lot in our first few weeks,
on the air here a little about the difference a
kicker can make, just in terms of field position and
when what kind of position are you giving the offense
when they start their drive, And anytime you can kicking
in the end zone at the high school level, you've
done a good job.
Speaker 1 (01:53:21):
So Burns trotting on to the field here with the
play call for Southeastern.
Speaker 4 (01:53:27):
They break the huddler.
Speaker 1 (01:53:28):
They're going to have two receivers Oats and Smith out
here to the right hand side. Looks like cheetle to
the left Handshaw behind or next two. Burns in the backfield,
waits to snap, looking downfield right away, tries to find
Smith right in the middle of the field. Smith sort
(01:53:48):
of stopped his route and it looked like Burns thought
he was going to continue that route. Yeah, just some
miscommunication there. I think this is kind of what you
have to do if you're SU Eastern. You gotta take
some chances down the field and you know, hope that
they pay off. Yeah, they had it open, there was
a you know opening there for him, but again sort
(01:54:10):
of stopped his route. So play call coming in from
the sidelines again, no hurry to get these things in
the old fashioned way. Of Messinger.
Speaker 3 (01:54:22):
Yeah, they're not in a hurry to get it in
and once they line up, they they asked their guys
to stay in position for a long time before they
actually snap it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:31):
So one receiver that Smith out here to the right
to to the left Burns, who waits to snap, He
gets it fake handoff, No, he hands it off this time.
The Cheetle coming around the right finds a little open.
Speaker 4 (01:54:42):
He's still going.
Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
Nice spin move he gets up, gets a gain of
about fourteen yards on the play, going to be a
first down Southeastern.
Speaker 4 (01:54:50):
Nice run there by Cheetle.
Speaker 3 (01:54:51):
Yeah, I think we're gonna see a healthy dose of
Gage Cheetle here in the second half there. You know,
probably was a five yard run for most guy, but
was able to you know, use the shiftiness and then
was able to break a couple of tackles as well.
Speaker 1 (01:55:06):
Yeah, if you're a Southeastern Panther fan, you love to
see him out there on the field. First time here
this season in game number four. Be a first down
and ten from the thirty three yard line for Southeastern.
As they break the huddle, Smith out to the left
hand side, Cheetle and oaks to the right hand side.
(01:55:26):
Burns awaits a snap, he gets it, he keeps it
right up the middle. Faked the Cheetle there, but goes
right up the middle is Burns and he gets a
positive game, probably a game of five on that play.
Speaker 4 (01:55:40):
Give him a second down and five for Southeastern.
Speaker 3 (01:55:44):
Well, that's the first time we've seen Southeastern have success
running it up the middle. But I think what what
Cheetle does is he presents such a threat that everyone's
focus kind of goes to him. And it was effaced
it the cheatle there, Burns saw the way the defense
reacted to it and took it up the middle for
about six yards.
Speaker 1 (01:56:03):
So play call coming from the sidelines, Burns called to
play in the huddle. As they break the huddle, you're
gonna have two receivers out to the left, one to
the right, and Cheeto in the backfield with Burns motion
to the left side with the tight end. Burns loses
the ball, picks it up, knows what to do with it,
(01:56:23):
and goes forward to try to get some positive yardage.
He may get back to the line of scrimmage, or
it looks like they're gonna give him up. Oh, they'll
give him the line of scrimmage. So to be third
down and five.
Speaker 4 (01:56:37):
Yeah, Southeast.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
To Burn's credit there, that could have gone really poorly
and he was able to salvage it and get it
back to the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (01:56:43):
So big third down here for Southeastern. You don't want
to stop this drive right here. So third down and five.
Four of the Panthers get the plays in, break the huddle.
Cheeto's going to be to the right side of Burns
in the backfield, two receivers to the left, one to
the rights. Burns got snapped ran into Cheetah in the backfield.
Speaker 4 (01:57:09):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Who's supposed to half that ball, but Burns had to
hold on to it, and the Warriors said, you know what,
we're just going to tackle everyone into the backfield to
make sure we get the ball on the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
And that's what they did.
Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
Yeah, there was some miscommunication there between Burns and Cheeto
and just weren't able to execute the handoff.
Speaker 1 (01:57:27):
So that's going to be a loss of two on
the play. That's going to be a fourth down and seven,
and the punting unit comes in. For Southeastern, that means
Borland goes back in punting formation, and for the Warriors
that means Joey Francis and Fisher's shaw and again Schoff
has had a great first half anytime he's touched the ball,
(01:57:47):
three touchdowns in the first half for shaff Borland, awaits
a snap, Oh, it's to the up man, but he
doesn't have anybody to throw it to. Looks like they
were trying to get a tight end out for that pass,
but they didn't get it out well where.
Speaker 4 (01:58:08):
The tight end wasn't able to get out.
Speaker 2 (01:58:10):
He was clearly held on that play.
Speaker 3 (01:58:12):
As sometimes I think as an official, you're just anticipating
the punts. You're expecting blocking, and as they tried to
throw it to the tight end, he was wrapped up,
but they did not make the call.
Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
Yeah, that was It was almost like the official thought, well,
he's just blocking, he's not doing anything, and the punter
did try to throw it to a spot and no
one was there for it. So it's going to bring
up first and ten for the Warriors in southeastern territory
at the thirty seven yard line. So Elik waits a
(01:58:46):
snap in the backfield, He's going to hand it off
and that looks like got a lot of running room
out here to the left hand side.
Speaker 4 (01:58:53):
That is uh, Brady Hayden. It's a little hard to
see those darker he's out there for the Warriors, But
that was Grady Hayden. You took that ball and nice
game there.
Speaker 1 (01:59:05):
On first down, goes straight up the field, making a
few guys missing, gets all the way down to the
looks like the sixteen yard line.
Speaker 15 (01:59:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
I think what we're seeing right now is this offensive
line is getting more and more comfortable. They're getting better
and better.
Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
Push and it's just creating holes that that you know,
Adean is able to run through right now.
Speaker 3 (01:59:24):
And then you know a kid like a Hayden breaking
a couple tackles, extending the run a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:59:31):
Dela kNs d Williams right up the middle.
Speaker 1 (01:59:35):
Hunter Williams gets some positive yardies there as he went
straight up the gut there for two yards.
Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
Brings up a second down and eight's gonna be from
the fourteen yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:59:51):
Clock running here, seven forty five to go in the
third quarter. This quarter is brought to you by Chillicothy Truck.
Speaker 3 (02:00:00):
If you're anna, this is what you want, you want
to you know, milk this clock. Take this down and
hopefully put it in the end zone for six.
Speaker 1 (02:00:10):
So Eliot's gonna go under center here, He's got two
running backs to his bag. He hands it to Williams
as he continues to push right up field, and again
that offensive line is making that push forward for the Warriors.
He's gonna get a first down. It's gonna be inside
the five, all the way down maybe to the two
yard line from Williams. Nice positive run there.
Speaker 2 (02:00:33):
Well, he just he got hit, but he just kept
his legs turning. And Hunters a strong kid and was
able to continue to be forward.
Speaker 1 (02:00:43):
So seven oh five and the clock running here with
a Dina now first and goal from the looks like
they put it all the way down to the one
yard line. Elick takes a snap, goes straight forward for
the touchdown. So Ethan Elick with his second touchdown one
of the night. That is a one yard run right
(02:01:04):
up the middle. The Adena Warrior League now is thirty
three to nothing.
Speaker 2 (02:01:11):
Well, that entire drive was just smash mouth football. There
was no attempt to throw the ball. It was just
we're going to line up and we're gonna know one
it at you and we're going to make you stop us.
And Southeastern wasn't able to do that.
Speaker 1 (02:01:23):
Yeah, very reminiscent of one Paul Thomas, who was a
very successful football coach here and what he did as
the coach ran the ball first. Now we're going to
get a spread here. Oh a little excitement on the
extra point. The Indena Warriors spread out here, looks like
they're going to go for two. Elik has all kinds
of people outside. He's looking for somebody to throw it
to and he's got no blockers. Does throw it INDI
(02:01:45):
end zone is a cot.
Speaker 2 (02:01:47):
No, like it was picked off there. They tried to
get fancy there.
Speaker 1 (02:01:52):
They went from basically sideline to sideline there. It looks
like the offensive linemen were sort of spread out there
as well, but a lot of people in chasing Elik there,
So that's no good on that tippoint conversion attempt. And
the score now is thirty three to nothing, the Adena
Warriors over the Southeastern Panthers. You're listening to the accurate, hitting,
(02:02:14):
cooling plumbing Game of the Week on ninety four Country WKKJ.

Speaker 18 (02:03:18):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (02:03:25):
Caddowell's kick goes all the way down to the fifteen
yard line. Nice return there by oates he brings it
out to the believe that's the thirty two yard line,
thirty seven yard line, really.
Speaker 2 (02:03:37):
A good return from Oats there.
Speaker 3 (02:03:39):
Again, only a sophomore. As a kid, that's gonna present
problems for teams, you know, the next couple of years
in this league.
Speaker 1 (02:03:46):
So Southeastern's ball on their own thirty seven yard line,
first and ten, Burns in the backfield, waiting to snap,
rose to his left, looking downfield, looking downfield, and he's
going to be caught in the backfield.
Speaker 4 (02:04:05):
Just did not have the time to find anybody opening
the backfield. And I believe that was is that twenty
five or.
Speaker 2 (02:04:14):
I couldn't tell who it was.
Speaker 3 (02:04:16):
Whoever it was, did a really good job of pursuit there,
and I'm giving up on the play and brought Burns
down in the backfield.
Speaker 1 (02:04:24):
We'll give that to David Warner, I believe. So good
job there of the Indina Warriors, drawing out the play
long enough for and again I think Warner something happened
after that. I don't know if he's got blood on
his arm or from somebody or his own arm, but
(02:04:45):
he's coming out of the game.
Speaker 4 (02:04:47):
And here we go second and thirteen for Southeastern.
Speaker 1 (02:04:51):
Burns wait to snap quick pass out to tried to
get it to Cheetah out there.
Speaker 4 (02:04:56):
But it was too short.
Speaker 3 (02:04:57):
Yeah, it looked like Garrison got his hands up and
deflected the pass.
Speaker 2 (02:05:01):
As it has he tried to get it out to
the outside again.
Speaker 1 (02:05:05):
Garrison has done a good job here tonight from his
defensive end, causing havoc out that way. Clock continues to run.
We are in the running clock mode here in the
second half as we have a lead of thirty plus points.
So Southeastern ball here third and thirteen from the thirty
(02:05:29):
four yard line. We're getting all kind of whistles. Now,
I'm not sure what's going on. Deana Warriors running players
on and off the field, And here we go. Southeastern Panthers.
Two receivers to the right, one to the left, Burns
in the backfield. He waits, snap, gets it, tosses it
out here to Cheeto. Cheetah is going to throw it downfield.
(02:05:51):
He's got an open man Oats, he waits on the
catches it at the forty two, makes one man miscits
all the way down to the thirty yard line. Was
in the air for the longest time. Oates was open,
but the time he caught it, the defenders had made
it to him. But he's able to make one guy miss.
Get all the way down at thirty.
Speaker 2 (02:06:11):
Yeah, just a simple toss play that turned into a
pass play. Dina was.
Speaker 3 (02:06:16):
All eyes were in the backfield on Cheetles, as you
kind of expect, and he put the throw right on
the money to gave Oats.
Speaker 1 (02:06:22):
And we know how athletic Cheetle is. Now he can
add the repertoire of being a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (02:06:29):
But I think Oats wanted that ball a little shorter
than it was to maybe try to run all the
way down the field for a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:06:37):
Two fifty to go here in the third quarter, Burns
a weight to snap two receivers to his left, hands
off the Cheetle coming around the right sheet will find
some room. He's got it opening cuts right, misses, one
guy missed, goes out of bouncing around the ten yard line.
So first and ten for Southeastern as Cheetle gets all
the way down to the ten yard line.
Speaker 4 (02:06:58):
Nice design play there by Southeast.
Speaker 3 (02:07:01):
Yeah, again, just trying to find different ways to get
him the ball. That was kind of a trap play there.
Started off one way and bring it back the other way,
and he was able to find some room to run.
Speaker 1 (02:07:13):
If you're Southeastern, here is a spot where you're looking, hey,
we got to get some points on this board.
Speaker 15 (02:07:17):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (02:07:18):
Offensively, we know we moved the ball. We've done it
here in the first three weeks. We've got to get
something here positive out of this drive. Sol two running
backs in the backfield, Cheetle and Henshaw. We're going to
get a flag on the play. It's like somebody moved
for Southeastern. That's going to back them up five yards.
Speaker 4 (02:07:41):
So a legal procedure is the official call, and that's
going to back him up to the fifteen for our
first en goal.
Speaker 2 (02:07:48):
Been a pretty clean game as far as penalties go.
Well that both teams have three penalties.
Speaker 3 (02:07:53):
You see the flags. See the flag there that was
much better and got it out high in the air.
Everybody can see it. You know that hoss play that
they ran where Cheetle passed it. You know, it's one
of those things that you're happy you complete the pass, obviously,
but it's something that you put on film that now
everybody you play against has to prepare for and just
(02:08:13):
a wrinkle that you can go too later in.
Speaker 2 (02:08:14):
The season as well.
Speaker 1 (02:08:16):
Burns in a backfield with Henshaw. You got two receivers left,
one to the right. Burns back to pass finding looking
for Oates deep down the field and that's.
Speaker 4 (02:08:25):
Going to be picked off. And there goes Joey Francis
down the right hand side and no one is there.
He's going to take it all the way to the
house if there is no penalties. I do not see
any flags, and that's going to be, I would say,
in ninety.
Speaker 1 (02:08:41):
Nine yarderception return. Yeah, from the one yard line. So again,
you know, oh, that's a bitch a shaff I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (02:08:49):
I'm sure Joey will take the credit.
Speaker 2 (02:08:50):
But Fisher made a great play on that football.
Speaker 3 (02:08:54):
He was kind of the safety that came over on
that pass and jumped up and got that ball at
his high point, and I just made it really athletic play.
Speaker 1 (02:09:03):
Shout out the Fisher because when he took off after
having that ball, he shot out of can like they
know Joey Franciscan And I'll tell you what it's Fisher
shof night here tonight for the Adena Warris ninety nine
yard kickoff return for ninety yard kickoff for time, ninety
nine yard interception return. And now we're having a conference
(02:09:24):
so I'm not sure if this is going to stand,
but I don't see flags on the field.
Speaker 3 (02:09:29):
Well, if if there was a block in a black
back or hole, there was no reason for it because
nobody was catching Fisher.
Speaker 1 (02:09:38):
It's almost like Southeastern coaches are yelling for something and
without throwing the flag, the officials then start.
Speaker 4 (02:09:46):
To say, hey, did this happen?
Speaker 1 (02:09:47):
Yeah, Well, as an official, you just got to make
calls that you see and I'm not sure what's going
on here.
Speaker 4 (02:09:58):
Anyways, we have a conference.
Speaker 1 (02:10:00):
The third quarter is over, I believe, unless there is
going to be a flag thrown post play, but nonetheless,
great defensive play there by Fischer shop to go and
get the ball at the highest point and then take
off with it.
Speaker 3 (02:10:17):
Yeah, well, if your coach shirt tonight, Let's see what
they're gonna call here.
Speaker 1 (02:10:26):
Okay, the referee is coming over here, looking up here
at the press box. There is no microphone that he has,
so we're just gonna have to go off of signals.
We're gonna get an unsportsmanlike conduct on a dina.
Speaker 4 (02:10:49):
So was that post player during the play?
Speaker 38 (02:10:52):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (02:10:56):
So I'm going to say that it is not a
touchdown now right.
Speaker 2 (02:11:03):
It must have happened during the play, but yeah, I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:11:08):
All right, So anyways, one thing we do know is
it is a DNA ball and that is the end
of the end of the third quarter. You're listening to
the accurate, hitting, cooling and plumbing game of the Week
on ninety four Country w KKJ.

Speaker 18 (02:12:27):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country w KKJA.
Speaker 1 (02:12:36):
So as we start the fourth quarter, eight quarter, brought
to you by Mill City up Peril. It's going to
be the Adena Warrior Ball. Now we're not even sure
where it's going to be placed. This I've never seen
anything like this. The referees are culling penalties without throwing flags,
(02:12:56):
and now we just don't even know where we're gonna
set the ball because they don't even know the point
of the penalty.
Speaker 4 (02:13:04):
So I'll tell you what. Scott Hurd has taken this
extremely well.
Speaker 2 (02:13:08):
Yeah he is.
Speaker 4 (02:13:09):
But when you're up thirty three to nothing, you can
do there.
Speaker 2 (02:13:12):
It's easier. I you can tell he's not pleased. My
son has done some umpiring this past.
Speaker 3 (02:13:19):
Year inside of our youth league, and what I told
him was, whatever you call, just call it and be
sure about it and let everybody know what's happening.
Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
And that has not been the case with this crew Todite.
Speaker 4 (02:13:31):
Well, now we're moving it back even further. We are
back inside the Warrior territory at.
Speaker 1 (02:13:37):
The forty five yard line. So from that point we're
going to play first in ten to start the fourth quarter.
We're gonna get a hand up right up the middle
for Brady Hey, he's gonna go all the way down
and I believe he's going to go out of bounce at.
Speaker 4 (02:13:54):
The war thirty one or thirty two.
Speaker 1 (02:13:58):
Yard line and that's gonna be a number first down.
Not seeing any flags, but that means nothing.
Speaker 4 (02:14:05):
I believe that play is over.
Speaker 2 (02:14:08):
Well, if you're.
Speaker 3 (02:14:11):
If you're a coach hurt, you have to love what
you've seen out of your freshman running back tonight. He
is run hard, he's been patient, he's not been afraid
to take a hit. You know, he has seven carries
for sixty yards right now.
Speaker 4 (02:14:25):
So elick back under center to running backs in the backfield.
That is Williams straight up the middle this time.
Speaker 1 (02:14:32):
And we also need to look at that offensive line
and they've been running guys in and out. But shout
outs to Clayton Paulie, David Warner, Lee Sowers, Chuck Sachs Hour,
Carson Neutral, and Dylan Lynch. They've all done a wonderful
job out there of making some holes, especially up the middle,
(02:14:53):
and giving their running backs and quarterback opportunity to make
those yards.
Speaker 3 (02:14:57):
And I don't know that that's been the case, you know,
the first three weeks of this season, and I think
what you're seeing tonight as a group that's finally gelling
or growing up a little bit, and they're kind of
imposing their roll in this game right now.
Speaker 1 (02:15:09):
So Warriors break the huddle here and the clock is
continuing to run. It's around ten to twenty right now
to go in the fourth quarter. Get some motion here
out of the Warriors. E lay hands off. I believe
that as Hayden as he takes it and he's going
to be stopped right up the middle, may give him
a loss of one on that play is going to
(02:15:31):
bring up a third down and nine as we go
under ten minutes to go in the ballgame. And again
next week, Andrew, you and I will be at Uniodo
High School where the Uniodo Sherman's will take on the
piked in Red Streaks.
Speaker 3 (02:15:52):
Yeah, you know, I think coming in tonight, I probably
thought that was going to be a more intriguing game
than what it maybe will be. But you know, Pithon's
always a tough or uh, you know, Pithon's a tough opponent.
They're gonna play hard, they're gonna do the right things.
Speaker 1 (02:16:10):
Williams on to carry for the Diana Warriors as he
goes around the left hand side game about four on
the play that brings up fourth down and five, looking
around the area. So the Cavaliers lead toward Smith West
in the fourth quarter, eighteen to seven. Warriors, Uh, Circleville
Tigers up twenty one to eight on logan elms Zane
(02:16:32):
Trace up thirty five to six on piked in again.
Speaker 4 (02:16:34):
That team will see next week. And Unioda up twenty
seven to seven over Huntington.
Speaker 1 (02:16:41):
That is in the third quarter. So Warriors going forward
here on fourth and five, hand off to Williams. He
goes up the middle and it looks like he's gonna
get it up for the first down. I think he's
gonna get it by a yard and we may get
a stoppage here to measure.
Speaker 4 (02:16:58):
Yeah, I think he's got enough.
Speaker 3 (02:17:00):
It looked like he was going to be down a
couple of yards short, but he again, he just kept
fighting for those extra yards and it's gonna be really
close here on this measurement.
Speaker 1 (02:17:08):
So second time here tonight that we're gonna bring in
the chains. Good thing that chain crew is very athletic
over there, that they're going to be running onto the field.
Speaker 2 (02:17:19):
We won't mention anything, Yeah, we won't. We'll just we'll
leave them out of it.
Speaker 4 (02:17:23):
Those of you wore your fans listening, I'm sure you
know who they are, you know, lou.
Speaker 3 (02:17:28):
One thing we have not talked about tonight, and it
looks like the Mets are about to lose again. So
the Cincinnati Reds going into their game at Oakland tonight,
are going to be one game back.
Speaker 15 (02:17:41):
Of the playoff spot, which.
Speaker 2 (02:17:42):
If you would have told me that a week ago,
I would have laughed at you.
Speaker 4 (02:17:45):
Yeah, dare you say the Reds of the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (02:17:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, your your youngest son does not think
that's gonna happen, as he was taunting me last night.
Speaker 4 (02:17:53):
But it's still a possibility. Yeah, yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (02:17:58):
So first and ten now as they did not give
him that, So it's gonna be first and ten for
Southeastern as they take over on down.
Speaker 2 (02:18:06):
So just short.
Speaker 4 (02:18:11):
Oh oh, the the the PA L got a little
excited here. He saw the first down over there, but
it's going the other way.
Speaker 1 (02:18:26):
It's Southeastern first and ten now on their own twenty
yard line.
Speaker 4 (02:18:30):
It's seven minutes to go here in the ball game.
Speaker 3 (02:18:32):
Yeah, and again, you know we've talked about this some
but if you're Southeastern here, do something positive, feel good
about something, you know coming out of this game.
Speaker 2 (02:18:44):
Develop some sort of rhythm.
Speaker 1 (02:18:47):
Two receivers to the right, Henshaw on the backfield hands
it to Henshaw. He goes straight up the middle and
he's gonna maybe get a game one, but the Adena
Warriors are right there to bring him down. And that
looks like number leave fifty five there, and that was
(02:19:08):
David Warner. I guess they're going to get a time
out here for aDNA. It looks like they're going to
possibly get some subs in the game here on the
defensive end. So with six point thirty two to go
here in the ball game, we're going to take you
a quick break. You're listening to the accurate heating, cool
unemplumbing Game of the Week on ninety four Country w KKJ.
Speaker 17 (02:19:28):
You know what would have been really helpful, like years ago,
maybe a manual for how exactly my body works. A
lot of times I feel like I'm just winging it.
But Yome it's different. It's actual clarity. They test what's

Speaker 18 (02:20:28):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
country wkkjaw So.
Speaker 1 (02:20:38):
As we come back here to Adena High School, Southeastern
gets a first down a nice pass from Burns over
to Smith. As Adena now has made wholesale changes on
their defensive side. But again, nice connection here with Burns
and Smith.
Speaker 3 (02:20:54):
What made that really impressive Blue was that they did
it against fourteen year or twelve guys, and the officials.
Speaker 2 (02:20:59):
Didn't get well, now they're running somebody off.
Speaker 1 (02:21:03):
Finally, one of the defensive coaches got a little smart
and started counting.
Speaker 2 (02:21:06):
Who was that defensive coach? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:21:09):
I got his brains from his mother, I guess.
Speaker 2 (02:21:13):
Assistant Chris Postage for the Deian Warriors.
Speaker 4 (02:21:24):
Burns in the backfield of waiting the snap. No one
with him. Oh there's Henshaw Burns over the middle trying
to get the ball to Smith.
Speaker 1 (02:21:35):
Unable to get it to it's going to bring up
a second down in ten for Southeastern at five minutes
to go.
Speaker 4 (02:21:42):
Here in the ballgame, Apple Air, Bogs and the press Boss.
Speaker 1 (02:21:52):
So again, Dena Warriors pressive showing here both offensively league
and defensively. Tonight, after their first three non league games,
I think they had to think about, you know, what
do we need to do to improve ourselves? But this
week in practice they must have had a pretty good
practice and found some things out.
Speaker 3 (02:22:12):
Yeah, and again when you're talking about young guys, sometimes
it just takes those two three games where you adjust
to the speed and the physicality of the varsity level
and you know they've really quitted themselves.
Speaker 1 (02:22:24):
Well tonight, hands off the Henshaw right up the middle
and Henshaw doesn't go down easy, and he's gonna get
a gain of six, going to bring up a third
down in four.
Speaker 3 (02:22:35):
Yeah, that's again one of the few runs at Southeastern
is they'n able to get any gain, any momentum.
Speaker 2 (02:22:41):
Up the middle.
Speaker 1 (02:22:45):
So under the four minute mark. Now to go into
ballgame again, your score at Dina Warriors.
Speaker 4 (02:22:50):
Thirty three in Southeastern zero.
Speaker 1 (02:22:54):
Southeastern still taking their time getting the plays in and
so again you would like to see them get some
positive get a score on the scoreboard. Here before the
end of the night, burns away to snap Henshaw next
to him, tosses out the Henshall around the right hand side.
Speaker 4 (02:23:14):
He's gonna get the first down.
Speaker 1 (02:23:15):
He's gonna run out of bounce and that's going to
be right around the forty five yard line of the
Adena Warriors.
Speaker 2 (02:23:23):
Yeah, just a quick toss there to Henshaw on the outside.
Speaker 3 (02:23:26):
Did a good job of using a speed to get
get out to the sideline and turn it upfield for
a first down.
Speaker 1 (02:23:37):
West Fall still leads Payne Valley twenty eight to nothing.
That's in the third quarter as we go under the
three minute mark to go here, First and ten on
the Warrior forty five yard line for the Panthers chto goes.
Actually they had too many guys in the huddle when
they broke Hey, they did count out there this time
(02:24:00):
Southeastern like wait a second, and Dina had that, yeah,
like three or four plays ago for a couple of
plays even.
Speaker 4 (02:24:10):
I think the thing that the Dina did, they just
left them on the field. Yeah, Friday, right, yeah, don't
don't draw the attention to it and they won't follow.
Speaker 1 (02:24:18):
So first and fifteen, right at the fifty yard line
for Southeastern, Burns getting ready for the snap, and he
gets it. He's looking back to goes back to pass,
looking deep down the field for Smith. He's got him open.
He makes the catch, he makes the first guy missed.
Going to get a flag on the play. I think
it's going to.
Speaker 3 (02:24:35):
Be for.
Speaker 1 (02:24:37):
Possibly a face mask, but he does get all the
way to the end zone. But we'll see what the
flag is.
Speaker 4 (02:24:45):
So again, that's going to be a fifty yard touchdown
pass if it stands. If not, again they're going to
conference over this call.
Speaker 3 (02:24:57):
Well, really impressive joby by burn was of hanging in
the pocket there. He got hit hard right as he
threw it, but he hung in there, delivered the ball
on time. Smith made a nice play on it, made
a nice move once he once he came down with
it and he was able to go all the way
with the end zone from there.
Speaker 4 (02:25:14):
Getting made one guy missing. Good thing for Smith. He
came back to the ball too, he did the ball
was a little short.
Speaker 1 (02:25:20):
He came back to it, made sure he caught it
and then made the guy miss and got all the
way the end zone. So I think that is going
to stand here as a touchdown with two o seven
to go here in the fourth quarter for Southeastern. Again,
this call was taking forever.
Speaker 2 (02:25:40):
Yep, it is a touchdown. I just confirmed, all right.
Speaker 44 (02:25:43):
So.
Speaker 4 (02:25:45):
Smith on a fifty yard touchdown pass from Burns.
Speaker 1 (02:25:55):
And bring in Coddle for the I'm sorry not this
is Borland for the extra point attempt as they await that.
Speaker 3 (02:26:08):
The Smith has had a really nice second half here
had a nineteen yard catch earlier.
Speaker 2 (02:26:14):
And that was a fifty yard touchdown catch.
Speaker 4 (02:26:17):
All right. So finally we get the call of a
face mask.
Speaker 1 (02:26:21):
I think that's going to happen on the kickoff, so
I'm sure we can expect a on side kick forth coming.
As Borland gets ready for the snap, now they move
all the offensive linemen back over in position and we
get ready. The snap is coming from cut right in
(02:26:42):
seth Walker's holding, and what a leg there, and the
extra point is good by Borland, So that now makes
the score the Southeast durned panther on the board with
(02:27:02):
seven points is thirty three to seven. The Athena Warriors
lead Southeastern and you're listening to the accurate heating, cooling

Speaker 1 (02:28:22):
Borland's kickoff from the Adena Warrior forty five goes out
of bounce on the left hand side here, and that'll
be the Adena Warrior ball on the I believe thirty
five yard line is where they will spot that if
it goes out of bounce, but I'm not sure if
it goes about out of bounds if they kick it
from the forty five and does it still.
Speaker 4 (02:28:40):
Go all the way up to the thirty five. We'll
soon find out here at probably after a conference.
Speaker 3 (02:28:49):
I at least again did see a flag that time.
So we'll take a take a win when we can
get them on.
Speaker 4 (02:28:55):
They're asking coach heard if you'd rather have the ball
where it went out of bounce or at the thirty five.
Speaker 3 (02:29:06):
Well, if you're a Dina here, you just want to
run the ball, get run down the clock and try
to get out of this game injury free.
Speaker 4 (02:29:13):
So I'm wrong. You're gonna mark it at the twenty.
Speaker 1 (02:29:19):
So the running clock is no more as we are
now under the thirty point lead mark, so we will
have normal stoppage as we go. With the last two
O seven to go. Here in the ballgame, Dina breaks
the huddle. One receiver to the right, one receiver to
the left, two running backs. You have Hayden and Williams
(02:29:42):
in the backfield, hand off to looks like Williams right
up the middle and no gain there.
Speaker 4 (02:29:52):
It's going to bring up a second down and ten. Well,
I think you don't move four or blue. If you're aDNA,
you have to feel good.
Speaker 3 (02:30:03):
You have to feel like you've gained some momentum tonight
and again, you know, bringing Paint Valley in next week
for homecoming, you got to feel like there's another chance
to go get another win. And you know, for a
team that started oh two, to be able to have
the chance to win three in a row is a
big deal.
Speaker 1 (02:30:20):
Well again, that's all three home games too, so you know,
you had the chance to go undefeated here in the
first three.
Speaker 4 (02:30:26):
Games at home.
Speaker 1 (02:30:27):
That's a big positive. So yeah, it's going to be
a big boost for the Adena Warriors here with the
outcome here tonight, it looks like we had a new
quarterback in there. I'm not sure who that was. I
believe that was Williams again. On the carry, he goes
right up the middle and gains about one. Is that
(02:30:50):
number twenty twenty two?
Speaker 44 (02:30:53):
Is that.
Speaker 4 (02:30:58):
Twenty two?
Speaker 1 (02:30:58):
Now?
Speaker 4 (02:30:59):
Playing the quarterback for the Adena Warriors.
Speaker 2 (02:31:02):
Gavin Hayden Grady's brother.
Speaker 1 (02:31:04):
Gavin Hayden. So he runs in with the play from
Scott Hurt, turns around and talks to his brother. One
off his brothers had just given the bomb. So Hayden
under center hands it to Williams Williams.
Speaker 4 (02:31:23):
Up straight upfield. Oh, he breaks it. He's going to
get a first down.
Speaker 1 (02:31:27):
Great second effort thereby Williams as he gains eleven on
the play for first down Warriors, and I believe that's
going to do it here tonight as the clock is
at twenty point three seconds. So as they wind the
clock here, that is going to be your final score
here from Bostic Field.
Speaker 4 (02:31:45):
The Adena Warriors.

Welcome to the Adena Health System postgame report here on
the accurate heating, cooling and plumbing game of the week
on ninety four Country w KKJ, and our final tonight
from Bosticfield here and Frankfurt is the Adena Warriors thirty
three to seven over Southeastern. This is week one of
(02:35:24):
the SVC here in the Siota Valley and games around
the area. Zane Trace leads piked In forty two to six.
West Fall, Mustang's lead the Payne Valley Bearcats thirty five
to nothing in the fourth quarter. And our last report
was the Unioda Sherman's on top of the Huntington Huntsman
(02:35:48):
in the third quarter area or other games around the
area of Circleville undefeated Circleville who we saw last week.
They are leading Logan Elm twenty eight to eight, that
is in the fourth quarter, and the Tillicott the Cavaliers
in the fourth quarter leave the Portsmouth West Senators. We
(02:36:08):
are going to be having both coaches here interviews here
in the postgame.
Speaker 4 (02:36:14):
Uh, let me go over some scoring and how this
game went.
Speaker 1 (02:36:21):
The Adena Warriors take the opening kickoff. That's Fisher Shoff
goes ninety yards on a kickoff return. They led seven
to nothing after Accado extra point, they scored. Then with
ten oh eight to go after a turnover, Eaton Elik
went right up the middle for a two yard run
X point no good to score.
Speaker 4 (02:36:39):
There was thirteen to nothing. That's where the first quarter ended.
Speaker 1 (02:36:43):
Adena started the scoring in the second quarter at seven
forty eight Elik to Fisher Shoff seventeen yard touchdown pass.
The two point conversion was good. The Adena Warriors led
twenty one and nothing, ending the scorer in the first half.
Adena Fisher Shoff went around on the left hand side
for a thirteen yard run extra point no good, and
(02:37:04):
they led it to half twenty seven to nothing. They
opened the scoring in the third quarter was six forty
seven to go when Ethan Elick scored on a one
yard run right up the middle. Extra or two point
attempt was no good. It was thirty three to nothing
and Southeastern closed out to scoring here tonight at the
(02:37:25):
two oh seven mark. That was a pass by Brayden
Burns down to Landon Smith for a fifty yard touchdown pass.
The extra point by Borland was good. It was thirty
three to seven, and that's where our final score is
as we get ready to go down to the field
(02:37:46):
and the winning coach and that is Scott Hurt and
Andrew Day.
Speaker 15 (02:37:54):
I'm here with co coach did everything tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:37:58):
Offense, defense, specialty, which it feels really good when you
see all those three things come together.
Speaker 43 (02:38:04):
We talked about it all week and we had a
little trouble with it last year, just coming out ready
to play.
Speaker 2 (02:38:11):
The thing that.
Speaker 43 (02:38:15):
The week we can get a little bit of a
faster pace so that shock of the first play of
the game is not there for us. But overall, we
had one turnover, we didn't have any bad snaps, we
didn't have any procedures, and the score reflects that.
Speaker 15 (02:38:32):
On the game tonight start. But it's about all the.
Speaker 43 (02:38:43):
Well that's been a little bit my fault. And early
in the year we knew we had to get the
ball on the edges. That's where our athletes are at
and trying to figure out ways to do that. And
as we go along and you try something that doesn't work,
and this week it did, and who knows, next week
it may not. But we've got to get the ball
in his hands, Joey's hands, and then we got running
(02:39:06):
backs in the backfield that are.
Speaker 4 (02:39:07):
Not burners, but they're pounders and that's what we're going
to have to do.
Speaker 25 (02:39:11):
Yeah, tonight created some first downs which kept Drives a lot.
Speaker 6 (02:39:23):
A couple of.
Speaker 43 (02:39:23):
Times he just put his shoulder down and he's a
little bit bigger this year.
Speaker 6 (02:39:27):
He can handle that.
Speaker 4 (02:39:28):
He did have the fumble, but he was fighting for yards.
Speaker 15 (02:39:31):
Those type of things is that's what we gotta be.
Speaker 4 (02:39:34):
We got our line solidified a little bit. We got
a little injury tonight. Hopefully we can get that worked out,
but overall we were pretty solid.
Speaker 15 (02:39:42):
Yeah going into next week.
Speaker 43 (02:39:54):
Yeah, after looking at the score tonight, if we struggle tonight,
I might have been a little bit concerned. But we're
riding a little bit of a wave right now. Peyton
Valley did They've struggled the first two weeks, but they
played good teams. They dropped twenty two on McClaine last week,
which got our attention for sure. Depending on it doesn't
(02:40:14):
matter how they do it Westwall. That's kind of a
game that's very curious to me. We're gonna there's a
lot of connections there needless to say, John does.
Speaker 15 (02:40:24):
A good job.
Speaker 6 (02:40:25):
They're going to be solid no matter who they put
on the field, it'll.
Speaker 4 (02:40:28):
Be a good game.
Speaker 25 (02:40:29):
Coach, congratulations, great win tonight, Thank you, appreciate you all.
Speaker 1 (02:40:34):

Speaker 1 (02:42:45):
Welcome back to the village of Frankfurt, where the Adena
Warriors were victorious tonight thirty three to seven over Southeastern.
As we look down the rest of the SVC here
tonight's couple of finals, Uniolo defeated Huntington forty nine to
seven and Zane Trace defeats piked In forty two to six.
Our last score on the Westfall game was thirty five
nothing in the fourth quarter over Payon Valley.
Speaker 4 (02:43:08):
Andrew. You and I will be at.
Speaker 1 (02:43:09):
Unioto next week as the Unioda Shermans. We'll get to
see for the first time undefeated Unioa Shermans. We'll take
all those piked In red streaks. So interesting game coming
up next week, first time we get to see both
those teams.
Speaker 3 (02:43:22):
Yeah, you know, I think what we're seeing with the
scores that we saw tonight is that Unioda and Zane
Trace are probably kind of separating themselves.
Speaker 2 (02:43:29):
From everyone else.
Speaker 3 (02:43:31):
Like Huntington and Pike In are not bad football teams,
and Zane Trace and Unioda both kind of had their ways.
So you know, always always fun to see new teams,
and we'll get a chance to see two good teams
next week.
Speaker 1 (02:43:43):
And I think a lot of people are going to
see this as an eye opener score here when they
see the score from Adena in Southeastern, because Southeastern is.
Speaker 4 (02:43:51):
A good ball club. Yeah, and they are going to
break that SVC losing streak here soon. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:43:55):
Nothing that I saw tonight made me think they're not
doing the right things, doing the right things. It got
off to a bad start, it kind of snowballed, and
sometimes that happens. But everything they're doing on the field
are the things they should be doing, and coach Willoughby
is going to get this thing turned around.
Speaker 1 (02:44:11):
So again, we appreciate you all joining in for Sidney
Newsome in the studio, who always does a fantastic job there.
For my partner Andrew Day. I'm loop post each until
next week from Unioto High School.
Speaker 4 (02:44:26):
