Welcome back to the Adina Health Systems pregame Show. I'm
now talking with East Clinton head coach Doug Miller. Coach Miller,
I appreciate your time here this morning or this afternoon.
I see the East Clinton has come off a one
and nine season, but you have since taken over as
head coach, so this is your first year there. What

(03:58):
have you implemented to maybe change the culture around East Clinton.

Speaker 9 (04:03):
That's a great question. Culture is very important. Having a
standard is also equally as important. Our culture is really
driven by accepting responsibility and accountability within the coaching staff
and the team, implementing what we think might be a
real positive game plan for the players on the field,
but more importantly off the field. Our standard is we're

(04:26):
gonna treat the community with respect, one another with respect,
and our opponents with respect.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
We're gonna play tough, but.

Speaker 9 (04:32):
Again, we're gonna be a class program from top to bottom.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Coach, as you've gone through the preseason in scrimmages. What
are some of the things that you have that have
emerged as strengths of your team as you get to
know your team better.

Speaker 9 (04:46):
Well, you know what's really interesting is the senior class
has really stepped up. We only have seven seniors, and
they've really stepped up and emerged as leaders. They understand
the importance of this being their last year in high school.
And I I'd say it, I'm very, very proud of
the leadership that's coming. And again, not just the seniors,
but the lower classes as well. Even freshmen are standing

(05:07):
up and starting to lead by example. I ask the
young men to give us all they have every rep
in practice, and as a result, I think we're continuing
to grow as a football team and grow as a
true competitive football team. But one of the other really
great things that's emerged for me is our quarterback Emry

(05:29):
Polly is just really emerged as a dynamo.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
And I gotta tell you something.

Speaker 9 (05:33):
We're gonna lean on him hard tonight to help us
move move downfield and put points up. Defensively, I gotta
tell you something, Gilpin is at the center, center point
of our defense.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Is our Mike Linbacher.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
He's a tough guy getting recruited.

Speaker 9 (05:48):
And I've got a couple other guys being recruited of
course too, Bryce Wilson being cruited, Zathan Boggs all being recruited,
which is really outstanding for a small high school like
East Clinton.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Now, Coach, as you have come in there and basically
taken over the program, what are some changes maybe you've
put on the offense and maybe defensive side of the ball.

Speaker 9 (06:12):
Sure, offensively, we we wanted to be more consistent with
throwing the football and it's been a challenge and it's
been somewhat of a struggle, but we've finally figured out
what we can do to take green on the field,
to find green and move the ball.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
So again, you know, our our our.

Speaker 9 (06:28):
Excitement is the fact that we have a group of
kids that has bought into the system and we've refined
it and continue to refine it, and I think we'll
be fine tonight. You know, we're we're facing a great challenger,
but I think we'll be We'll be fine. Defensively, Uh,
We've we've really implemented a h an even front. It's
really geared and attacking our opponents by gap so again,

(06:52):
I think we've got a sound game plan coming into tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Coach, looking at your opponents last your Huntington defeated these
Clinton twenty eight to fourteen. Talk about what you see
from the Huntington Huntsman for tonight's game.

Speaker 9 (07:08):
The Hustsman are great football players, they've got a great coach,
and they've got a great group of kids.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Uh, and we're playing in their house.

Speaker 9 (07:14):
So that's always a you know, that's always a check
mark in their in their in their column.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
But uh, you know, coach, we're not going to surrender.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
We're not gonna lay down.

Speaker 9 (07:23):
And we're and we certainly, uh, whether it's with a win,
which I hope it is, or a loss, we're gonna
exude class and respect to our opponent. Uh, before and
after the game when we put a helmet on, we're
gonna bring everything we have.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Well, Coach, I appreciate your time today and best of
luck tonight when we come back, we will have an
interview with Coach Clay Bieler from the Huntington Huntsman. Again,
you're listening to the aDNA House Systems pregame show.

Now back on the Adina Health Systems pregame show. Here
at the accurate Heating and Plumbing Game of the Week
on ninety four Country w k k J. I'm talking
with Huntington coach Clay Beeeler coach. Last year you were
three and seven, you won your last game of the

(10:13):
year in dramatic fashion and overtime. Does something like that
carry over in the off season and now the preseason
for the Huntington Huntsman.

Speaker 18 (10:22):
Oh.

Speaker 19 (10:22):
Absolutely, you can kind of see it with our kids.
We finished two and two to end the year. You know,
a close Westball game. We could have been three and
one to close it out, but a lot of guys
return and they took that as a sign of things
to come. We're flipping, you know, age wise, where we've

(10:43):
been young the last couple of years. We've got a
lot of juniors and seniors and obviously carried over. Our
kids worked really hard in the off season by their
their winners, and they know their winners and they're they're
excited to prove it on Friday night.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
As as we have gone through the preseason a couple
of scrimmages. What has emerged as your team shrinks.

Speaker 19 (11:07):
I'll just say toughness. We've worked really hard in the
weight room. Really, our kids have bought in for the
last three years, just trying to get that grit and
toughness and just overall just love of the game and
love for each other. We got a really close group
of kids that just love the game of football, put
in a lot of hours and just ready to compete.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
So as we get ready here for the opener tonight
against these Clinton what can we expect offensively and defensively
from the Huntsman and some of the guys that return.

Speaker 19 (11:41):
I go as the ground and pound to eat clock.
But we got a really good running back, Isaac Taylor. We
had our line, like I said, they've worked tard. We're
pretty deep. But we also have a really good quarterback
and Frankie Hurst, and we have some solid wide receivers
on the edge too, notable just Avanton Almost and Dalton Nichols.

(12:02):
Our defense, we're just relentless, got guys coming back. I
think we brought back eight starters defensively, so we've got
guys that are they know their job, they know what
they got to do, and completely bought in. So you
should see a fast, high flying, tough defense out there.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Coach, last year, your opener was against eas Clinton. You
defeated them twenty eight to fourteen. What are you expecting
from the Astros this year under first year coach Doug Miller,
who's not new to the SVC. I believe he was
he a Dena coach a couple of years ago.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 19 (12:36):
Yeah, I expect a team that's a discipline that is probably.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
You know they're going to run the ball hard. Yeah.

Speaker 19 (12:43):
My first year at Huntington, we went to a Diana
I think we I think it was week ten, but
you know they're gritty. They pounded the rock and you
could tell it was a well, well coached football team.
So I expect a lot of the same regards. To
play very hard and be disciplined, eliminate turnovers, and do

(13:05):
all the right stuff to get a win tonight.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Well coach, we appreciate your time here today and best
of luck tonight as you open the twenty twenty five
season at home against the East Clinton Astros.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Thank you.

Welcome back to Huntington High School for tonight's game, and
we are getting ready for the kickoff. Junior McDonald's kick

way into the end zone. Fall or a touchbag back

Jennifer Conley Andrew What are some keys for Huntington here tonight.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I think the first is to find a complimentary player
to make plays. When you look at Huntington's success they
had toward the end of last year all on the
quarterback Fan and running back Isaac Taylor.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
They're gonna lean on both of those guys a lot tonight.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
But if they can find one more guy to make
some plays and create something for the defense to have
to think about, it's gonna make them that much harder
to defend. And I think the other thing is get
East Clinton's offense off the field.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
East Clinton wants to run the ball or use.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
A quick passing game, which is really an extension of
the run game. And so the quicker they can get
them off the field, maybe get some three and outs,
the better it's going to be for them.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
All right.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Emory Paully is a quarterback for the East Clinton Astros.
He takes the snap, initial snap, and we're gonna get
an early flag. But boy, he was smothered up in
the backfield quickly by he.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Like Carson, he got off the line really quickly and
got right to Paully and took him down.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So again we are looking forward to see what that
flag so first playing first flag of the night, and
that's going to be holding on East Clinton and we'll
see if they want to take it or decline it.
They're going to decline that penalty because that was a
loss of I believe seven on the play. So again,

(17:31):
great job there by Carson McNeil to get through and
get Emery Paully in the backfield. So this is going
to bring up second in about seventeen.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
So again looking.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
At the defensive unit for Huntington, Caden Baker, Jerry Johnson,
and Jaden Moore and Jackson McNeil line up up front
for the defense. There were linebackers or Isaac Taylor, Caden
Birchfield and Carson McNeil. Paully awaits a snap, takes a
snap look for a quick throw, throws the number thirty

(18:01):
and that is Max Howard for the completion and that's
going to gain play about completed the loss of their
penalty of about seven yard pass play out to Max
Howard to finish up the Huntington Huntsman defense. The defensive
backfield Keingan Woodrum, Calvin Hirsch, Junior McDonald and Colt Parker.

(18:24):
Third and ten right now for the East Clinton astros again.
In the backfield, you have Emory Polly and I believe
that's Grady Boggs next to him. He waits a snap,
he sees a snap, he's looking downfield, cannot find a man.
Great job of defending by Huntington, and we're gonna get
a fumble, and that's going to be again. I believe

(18:46):
that's Carson McNeil, and the fumble recovery is going to
be by number thirty.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
I believe number twenty two.

Speaker 23 (18:53):
Carson McNeil calls h a fumble.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Number fifty, I'm sorry, number fifty. Jackson McNeil with the
pumber recovery and Andrew Huntington with the first turnover.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Carson McNeil's causing a lot of problems already because he's
Clinton offense. He is getting after it. He's strong and
he's quick, and right now he's Clinton just doesn't have
anybody that can block him. And with his turnover right here,
it sets Huntington up for a chance to get some
points on the board early.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
First and ghost at the nine yard line of the
East Clinton astros Frankie Hurst brings the offense out as
quarterback running backs, we have Isaac Taylor and Evan Thomas.
And up front you have Carson Smith, Jared Johnson, Luke George,
Caden Birchfield, and Jaden Moore. So again in the pistol formation,
Frankie Hirsch waiting on this snap. Snap, he's gonna give

(19:44):
to Taylor. Taylor's gonna go round the right side and
virtually untouched into the end zone. Four the first touchdown
of the air for the Huntington touchdown. That's a nine
yard rushing touchdown.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
If Huntington's line can move East Clinton's defensive line like
that all night, lou, they're.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Going to be able to move the ball pretty well.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
That was like you said, he was able to basically
walk into the end zone without being touched. And Huntington's
off to a really good start here.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
So Junior Donald McDonald in for the extra point attempt.
He was eleven of seventeen last year on point after attempts.
Snap and the kick is up and good. So with
eleven twenty six to go in the first quarter, Huntington
takes advantage of turnover scores on its first play. It
is now seventh nothing Huntington. You're listening to the accurate

Speaker 1 (21:44):
So back in Huntington High school the kickoff, they tried
to do a squip kick there. It did go ten
yards and the East Clinton Astros were able to get
on that ball and recover it. So these Clinton's going
to take over at their own forty four yard linet
this offensive series. Looking at the offense for East Clinton.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Emery Pauly is your quarterback.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
We're gonna see a lot of different running backs in
the game here tonight. Leandre Robinson, Carl Carson Gilpin, Roy Riddle,
and Gritty Bogs up front for East Clinton. Bryce Wilson,
Xander Rapson, Weston Knapp, Jamie Hepton, and Camden Hooley. Hand
off two, I believe that's number forty four, Gratty Bogs

(22:28):
right up in the middle, and we saw the flags
go down and I believe one of them through the
and no we're not. They all the bags instead of
a flag. So there was a lot recovered by East Clinton,
but that was no game. And again it was the
interior of the Huntington defense that did a great job.

(22:49):
Again we're looking at Jayden Moore, Jared Johnson right there
stacking things up.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Going back to the kickoff there, I really like coach
Bueler's decision to kind of take advantage of some early momentum,
and they actually got a really good balance that just
didn't go their way.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Paully hands off to the right this time for gritty bogs,
and we're gonna give him one yard on that. That's
gonna bring up third and nine. So again the defense
of Huntington is attacking. They are running down hill here
to start this game. There, Isaac Taylor, Cayton Birdfield, and
Carson mcdeale from their linebacking spots are really coming hard

(23:28):
at the line of scrimmage, not giving much time for
the East Clinton Astros to do much.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
A little bit of a different approach here in this
second drive for East Clinton. In the first drive they
were out of the shotgun a lot, try to move
the pocket here in this second drive, it's been two
runs right up the middle.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
So we'll see what they do here on third down.
Early on.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
It's it's the experience of Huntington. You can tell how
much these guys and how many eight returning starters here
on the defensive end. Paully back to throw this time
he throws it up in here. It's going to be intercepted.
That is number twelve Frankie Hirsch. He picks it off
at the thirty yard line of Huntington and he's going
to get tackled at roughly to thirty five and a

(24:10):
plethora of flags on the field. But that is an
interception by Frankie.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Hirsch and two or three interceptions last he started off
this year.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
With an interception. Yeah, he had that read the whole way.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
He was back there playing center field and saw the
pass as soon as it was thrown and made a
play on it.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Looks like that is going to be on Huntington. I
don't know if that is a block in the back
on the return, but that is going to take the
ball from the thirty five to the twenty five. My
Matt is correct, and they will again to offensive possessions
for East Clinton to turnovers and we'll see if Huntington

(24:51):
can take advantage of this. So again, quarterback is Frankie Hirsch.
We're going to see most of the time that piscol
formation next to him on his right is Isaac Taylor. Also,

(25:11):
we have double wide receivers to the right hand side,
and I'm not sure if that's going to be on
the defense of the offense, but a lot of people
are moving.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Lots of movement there. It was interesting mentioned Huntington's experience.
Lou East Clinton has the roster team, only eleven of
them are upperclassmen.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
So this is a really young team and a.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
New system and you can just tell they're trying to
work out the kings right now.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Yeah, and again, as coach talked about it in the interview,
his linebackers are going to be the key to his team.
You look at Grady Boggs and Carson Gilpen, those are
going to be the keys for East Clinton. Hersh in
the backfield of waits a snap, we've got motion there
by Junior McDonald.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
He gives to Isaac Taylor.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Around the right hand side and he is going to
be tackled there by Granny Bulbs. But that's going to
be after a gain of roughly twenty yards on that play.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Or not before a twenty yard game leading to a
Huntsman first down.

Speaker 23 (26:15):
It'll be first and ten Huntsman at their own forty
yard line.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
So again, our pa announcer does a great job here
at Huntington bud lightle uh.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
So you may hear him quite a.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Bit on our broadcast from where our location is but
great job there of just finding the opening on the
outside and getting to the outside as much as possible.
Snap gives to Taylor this time he goes around the
left side and he is going to get positive yard.
It's going to be a gain of seven brings up

(26:49):
second down. Remember the Huntington Huntsman to see the.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Point about the East Clinton linebackers. They are the ones
making the plays right now, but it's.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Territory.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Uh, the defensive line for ease Clinton has to do
a better job up front or they're just not going
to be able to do much to slow this offense down.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Yeah, the Huntington Huntsman coach talked about it in an interview.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
You can see how big they have gotten. They've from
last year to this year.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Many of those players out there are just looking stronger
and put on some weight.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
We've got a quick.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Pass from kersh out here to Junior McDonald as he
came around in motion, and that's going to be a
game of roughly three yards. So we're going to see
if they get them that first down there he is
right on the fifty yard line.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
They've utilized Junior McDonald.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Several times with at that time, they've they've been setting
up the chance to give him the ball in space.
He's a really dynamic athlete and can make things happen.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
And some of those receivers we call him the x
Y and z Adulton Nichols, Carson McNeil, and Junior McDonald.
So all three of them are out here to the
right hands as well as Isaac Taylor. That leaves Frankie
in the backfield all of a sudden, and we bring
Isaac Taylor in motion. He's going to go around the
right side and he ran over Grady Bogs there in

(28:14):
the game of one.

Speaker 23 (28:15):
Play by number twenty one.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Lean robertson press with Isaac Taylor. I know he missed
some time last year, but he is a strong runner.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
He does not mind contact.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
He will he will take it into the defender and and.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
A lot of times he's gonna win that one on
one battle. And again he did a great job.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
It looks like we're going to see Colt Parker come in,
uh for him to give Isaac Taylor a quick break
here in the backfield. Uh So he comes in and
that moves Evan Thomas to the backfield from one of
the whiteouts. So trips to the right hand side. Frankie
Hurst looking for someone to pass to and he was

(28:55):
right at the line of scrimmages. But he does find
number three Colton Parker all the way down to.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
The east Clinton eleven yard line.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
So what a pass there, and that should be a
gain of about nineteen thirty plus yards all the way
down to the eleven yard line, and hirsh came up
right on that line is scrimmage, but was able to
get the pass off before he crossed the line.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Yeah, he was rolling to his.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Right and made a great throw on the run and
Parker was there to bring it in and secure the catch.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Frankie tries to Hurt tries to hand off the numbers
zero Evan Thomas. But against Clinton, one of their linebackers,
I believe that was number forty, got in there and
sort of broke that up, and that is of course.

Speaker 23 (29:49):
Guilt going to bring up a second and thirteen.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
So that's a loss on the play of three yards,
brings up second down thirteen to four. The Huntington Huntsman just.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
One of those situations where the timing wasn't quite right.
What you're gonna see some early in the season. The
more game like reps, you get, the more in synct
you're gonna be.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
So you have Hirsh awaiting the snap. Next to him
is Taylor. He's gonna go around the left side. Looking downfield,
he finds number twenty four Junior McDonald, who bowls.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
His way into the end though four a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
So that is Hirsh McDonald to Junior McDonald for fifteen
yards on the touchdown pass, and Huntington now leads thirteen
nothing awaiting the extra point.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Again, they're they're getting hersh out of the pocket.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
They're rolling him.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
He rolled to his left that time. Hart is a
right hand thrower to throw when you're rolling left.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
And put it on target. But he put it right
in the right spot.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
And again Junior McDonald when he catches it in space,
he's gonna make the things happen.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, Huntington offensively looks really good right now, Junior McDonald.
And we wait the point after here by Junior McDonald
as we try to get the appropriate subs in the game.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
And here we go.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
There's a snap the kick and it's going to be.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Just to the right.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
So McDonald's kick.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Is no good and the six courses Huntington was six
fifteen to go in the first quarter. You're listening to

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Huntington High School awaiting the kickoff of the Junior McDonald.
The first quarter tonight is being brought to you by
Home Loans by Jin.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Again. Junior McDonald getting ready for kickoff.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
We'll see if he tries to go deep or maybe
squib again. He approaches and here's a kick sort of
goes to us open spot and the ball was left
on the ground for a while, but he's is going
to or be able to recover that and they're going
to get it on their own thirty five. You know,
one thing we've talked about the last couple of years

(33:16):
is the kickoff. It has become an exciting event. I mean,
you never know what we're gonna see, where the ball
is going to go and.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Who's going to get it.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Well, Huntington's kicked off three times so far tonight. One
went in the end zone, one was a true on side,
and that was kind of a squib kind.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Of pop up kickoff.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
So they're they're just testing it out and seeing what's
working the best.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Again, many games going on in the region. Tonight will
go over some of those, but you can find all
those scores on WKKJ dot com on our scoreboard. He
was sponsored by Mill City Apparel Pulley hands off. This
is going to be Grady Bogs. First guy did not

(34:04):
bring him down, but he did stop him in the
rest of Honey Huntman defense come in to make the
stop and that's going to be a loss of shoot.

Speaker 26 (34:17):
Yeah that was Jackson.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
Lacneal got to the first for the action, slowed him
up enough for the other guys to come in.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
And take him down to the backfield again.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
As coach mentioned in the pregame show, this is a
defense with eight starters returning, eight starters with now experience
from last year, and eight starters that are bigger and stronger.
And boy has it shown here tonight five twenty eight
to go here in the first quarter and East Clinton
I believe is going to take their first time out

(34:47):
of the half.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
So we'll keep it right here.

(35:36):
five point five.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Just some early trends that we're seeing here in the
early going for Huntington. Lou Uh really impressed with Huntington's
balance on offense. They're able to run the ball effectively
and it's setting up some open receivers in the passing game.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
And then defensively.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
I don't know if they're related, but Carson McNeil and
Jackson McNeil right now are have set up camp in
the East Clinton backfield and they are creating all.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Kinds of problems.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
I think that time I was just trying to get
their breath here for East Clinton. Now you've see an
empty backfield with Emery Pauley under center, and he's now
going to pitch back to number twenty one Leandre Robinson
and we're going to get a fumble there and that
is going to be recovered by the Huntsmen. So nothing
really going right right now for the East Clinton Astros.

(36:28):
And wow, this Huntington huntsman three possessions, three turnovers, he has.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Lost and the sacks.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Already and we're barely halfway through the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
So Huntington is going to.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Take over this possession on the twenty yard line of
the East Clinton astros.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
And again.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
We are at the Shoemaker Athletic Complex here at Huntington
High School, and a beautiful night as the sun is
going down, the shadows now encompassing this side of the field,
as Huntington is going to left to right on your
radio dial, perfect night for football. Hersh awaits a snap

(37:24):
with Taylor next to him. He looks back, he goes
back to pass looking deep for I believe that is
number twenty Dalton Nichols.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
So that is going to.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Officially be a twenty one yard touchdown pass Ranky Hirsch too. Again,
that was Dalton Nichols. Wonderful route there by Nichols, wonderful
pass by Hirsch.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
He is frank Hurst has really impressed me tonight with
his ability to put.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
The ball in the right spot.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
All four his passes have been right on time, right
on target, and just making the receivers is good.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
As you heard, are Pa announcer.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
The point after is good. Twenty to nothing the Huntington huntsband.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
We'll keep it right here.

Speaker 23 (38:21):
Pass again, Nichols.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Tastes not only the only place to hear Tonight's action.

Speaker 2 (38:55):

Speaker 1 (38:58):
Twenty of space. That's great was named for the Neo
Urick and family press box is officially the name. He
spearheaded the event to get this prexice box built. Neil
was a teacher, principal, athletic director, superintendent here at Huntington
And again, wonderful family, wonderful person, and great honor. Kickoff

(39:21):
by Junior McDonald. This one goes deep into the end
zone for a touchback that is going to come out
to the twenty five yard line I believe or the
twenty I'm sorry the line.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
Yeah, Junior McDonald is a really strong leg.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
That's twice now that he's put the ball in the
end zone on a kickoff, which is not a common.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Thing for high school kickers.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Yeah, I mean, no one likes that that's not exciting
at all. You just kick it deep and goes the
end and you don't see any action. And that's why,
at least he has twice brought some action to the kickoff.
So again he's Clinton just trying to find something positive
on the offensive end. Again, you give a lot of
credit here to the Huntington defense. They are running downhill, uh,

(40:07):
and they are getting to the ball quickly and in bunches.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
Yeah, they are.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
They're really causing problems. And see if there's more of
the same here on this drive.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
We've got to stoppage here. Tonight's referee is mister Danny Oates.
He steps in real quick too. Looks like he's going
to have someone come out of the game.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Or was that an.

Speaker 23 (40:31):
Illegal illegal substitution?

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Substitution on the thing to have an illegal substitution on
the first player to drive loop, So we go back
five yards.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
That's going to be first and fifteen from the fifteen
and east Clinton is going to take over. We're going
to get be in the pistol formation this time with
em Right now, we've got a substitution who comes in
late again and that's going to cause a time out.
So time out East Clinton Astros their second time out
of the first half of the first half. A couple

(41:06):
other things as we look around the SBC tonight, we
had two games on Thursday nights in our area. Uniotos
looked very strong last night in their forty two to
nothing defeat over Portsmouth piked in forty two to nineteen
over Northwest. Games around the area tonight, Adina is at McLean,

(41:31):
Lucasville Valley at Payne Valley, Portsmouth East at Southeastern Westfall
at Madison Plains, and Zane Trace at Logan Elm. So
what we're going to see, I guess in talking to
the principal here, Craig Kerns at Huntington, there's a lot
of games on a Thursday and on a Saturday, And

(41:51):
I asked the reason why and he said, lack of officials.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Yeah, that's a that's a problem.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
It's a problem in all sports, I think especially become
a problem in football. And uh, you know, I think
that there's a there's a couple of things that need
to take place. One is, uh, we need to train
more younger officials because there there just aren't many young
people doing that anymore.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
So, PAULI back to pass.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
He goes around the left hand or right hand side,
I should say, and he's going to be stopped in
the backfield as there was no one opened down field.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
Well, Jackson McNeil didn't end up getting the snacked, the stack,
the stack, the sack, Uh, the offensive tackle.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
All the way back to the quarterback and.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
Right now, so that brings up a second and on
their own ten yard line. So again, just trying to
find something positive. And uh, Andrew, I'm gonna say there
probably hasn't been two or three plays that have been
positive for the East Clinton astros. Pully goes back to
pass again, he's looking downfield and he did have an

(43:01):
open man briefly number forty Carson Gilpin, but it goes
out of his hands and that's gonna fall and bring
up third and.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
Played tonight.

Speaker 3 (43:15):
And uh, just gonna be hard to get anything going
when you can't even get positive yards on plays.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
So again, both these schools, when you look at him
as far as size wise, not huge schools. And I
see Huntington's running guys in and out, trying to find
some time for some of.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
These guys to get some rest.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
So it is good that they have some depth that
they can get guys in and out of the.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Game, especially early in the season when it's when it's
when it's hot out pay back to pass again looking
for somebody and he's going to be wrapped up in
the backfield quickly.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
And it looked like almost a fumble, but they're going
to roll it down.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
That was Rett Fips that got in the backfield that time,
and he's a he's a good sized kid and.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
Took the took the quarterback down pretty hard there.

Speaker 1 (44:08):
And again, as I said, some of these guys are
they're getting some other guys into the game and that's
really helping them out. And when those guys get into
the game, you don't see very many, you know, much
things changed. They're all playing well, yeah they are. So
we're gonna see a punt from their own two yard line.

(44:28):
Looks like Leandre Robinson back to punt and back deep.
Is number twenty for the Huntsman and that is Dalton Nichols.
Dalton Nichols comes up to try to catch it and
he does fall down on top of it. He is
covered up by his own teammate. Number two. I believe

(44:49):
Keegan Wood Drift. Just make sure he did not lose.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
The ball at all.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
Yeah, he uh, he bobbled the catch. Otherwise I think
he probably would have taken that will take a I
was kicked. There was all kinds of space on this
side of the field, and I think he would have
been able to take it in pretty easily.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
So three thirty four to go here in the first quarter,
and Huntington's going to take over on East Clinton's twenty
two yard line. So four possessions now for the Huntington Huntsman.
Three of those four started in East Clinton territory. They
did not get a turnover on this one, so East
Clinton was able to punt.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
That is true.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
Anytime you can start seventy five percent of your possessions
on the opponent's side of the field, you're making the
offensive coordinator's job a lot easier.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
So I'm not sure if we had a time out
here or what or just a water break, but it
looks like we're getting the Huntsman out on the field
now offensively. And again some of those key guys Isaac Taylor,
we've seen in the end zone. Hers has two touchdown passes,

(45:56):
one to Dalton Nichols and one to Junior McDonald. And
we're going to see two wide receivers to the left
hand side, and we're going to see I believe that's
number four for Huntington in the backfield, and that is
Maverick Hardesty of freshmen, gets his first rush in varsity competition,

(46:22):
and that's.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Going to take it all the way down to the.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Hardesty on the carry for the fourteen yard line, so
that gives the gain of eight So freshman in the
first quarter of his first varsity game.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Kennedy Ueah really impressed with that carry too.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
It's not the biggest kid out there, but he didn't
shy away from any contact there. He went straight, had
a tough run there.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
So again he's going to be to the right hand
side of hersh In the backfield, you got two one
receiver to left, one to the receiver to the right.
Heirst hands off to Hardesty again. He goes around the
left side this time once.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Again basically be brought down at the line. So that'll
bring up a third and.

Speaker 23 (47:13):
Three for the hunting.

Speaker 3 (47:16):
So again early on here, we're seeing a lot of
different guys getting in the game for Huntington. That's a
coach's dream. In the first game of the season to
be able to use all those guys.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
And see what you've got Isaac Taylor back in the
backfield now next to hersh. You got two receivers to
the left hand sidety hands off to Isaac Tator right
up the middle, ran right by a defender. He's going
to get the first down and that's going to be
a gain of six for Isaac Taylor. First down, Huntington
our first and goal frother th nine forty to go

(47:47):
here in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (47:49):
I know it's soon been a few plays on this drive,
but I do feel like defensive line is competing a
little bit better right now. They've uh they've kind of
stopped some things earlier and are giving themselves a chance.

Speaker 10 (48:02):
Here.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
Two receivers to the right hand side and Taylor next
to hersh on his right. First takes a snap, hands
off to the left hand side to Taylor and he's
going to continue close. Almost got in the end zone there,
but stopped by. And we're going to get a flag
on the play after the play. Not sure who that's

(48:23):
going to be, on Huntington or East. We're gonna get
an unsportsmanlike conduct on hiding.

Speaker 3 (48:32):
It's too bad it's gonna wipe out that run because
that was a tough run by the Taylor.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
He was grabbed multiple times.

Speaker 3 (48:39):
That even probably got horse collared there at the end,
but just kept moving his feet and grinding for those
extra yards.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Yeah, that should be a fifteen yard penalty, So that
should bring that back to the fifteen We're being sixteen
yard line.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
Almost from the end of the plate.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
So again sportsmanlike conduct on Huntington after the play, and
that's going to bring up second goal from the sixth
sixteen line.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Again.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
Find all your scores on WKKJ dot com and the
scoreboard sponsored by Mill City Apparel. See if they let
Frankie throw the ball here, he is back to find
somebody down the field, throws it off short to number
twenty at Stalton Nichols. He's going to find his way

(49:31):
all the way to the end zone.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
That a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
We're going to give him a sixteen yard touchdown pass
from Hirsch to Nichols for the second time here tonight,
and that is going to make the score twenty six
to nothing for the Huntington Huntsman.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
Well again, I really can't say enough about Frankie's ability
to throw while he's on the move.

Speaker 23 (49:59):
He uh McDonald as he's rolling out again that.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
Was to his left, put it right on time and
on target and made.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
The serious.

Speaker 1 (50:09):
So the point after a junior McDonald is good. Bringing
the score now to twenty seven to nothing for the
Huntington huntsman as we have one forty three to go
here in the first quarter, and then getting back to
Frankie Hirsch there he's done a great job of staying
under control being patient in that pocket as well.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Yeah there, and again I think this is where you
see experience start to play a factor. Uh, he's been
in these moments. He's he's you know, seen all kinds
of things as a starting quarterback and so uh, nothing
at this point in his career is really gonna bry
him up or rush him through anything to see the field.
He's going to be calm and collected. And now again

(50:52):
this is the first game of the year.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
But the thing that really stands out to me is
you can see the maturity and the the you know,
how calm and poised this Huntington team is that win
at the end of the year, and as coach mentioned,
you know they had won two of their last three.
I think that end of the year run by Huntington really.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Propelled to this year's team. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
Anytime, especially you know when you're talking about a coach
who's now in his third year in coach Peeler, anytime
you start to see those results as a player, you
start to believe what the coach is saying that if
we just do it the way the coach is telling
us to do it, we can have success. And so
when you taste that the success, when you experience that success,

(51:36):
it allows you to start really buying in and believing
what coach is saying, and it allows you as a
program to kind of move to the next lef.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
So as we get ready here for the kickoff by
Junior McDonald, we'll see what type of kick we get
this time. And he's going to kick it deep again
and that is going to be bounced off a number fifteen.
Good thing he had a gentleman right there to help
him out.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
But Bryce Surface lost the ball and number five recovers
it for Colin Fordon. They're going to take over right
at the twenty yard line. Yeah, he almost caught that.
Uh that kickoff of the space matter there.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
Yeah, I don't know if that ball was curving or what,
but he he just sort of got to him quicker
than he thought it was going to get to him.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
Well, as you alluded to earlier, Lou, you can uh
when you when you compare where Huntington is starting on
every possession where he's Clinton, he's starting on every possession.
They're they're just fighting an uphill battle right now.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
First quarter score Zane Trace up on Logan ELM twenty
two to nothing. Wow, So we looks like we have
a new quarterback out there. Leandre Robinson. He takes a
direct snap, he's going to come around the right hand
side and finds himself a lot of room. He's going
to we run out of bounce at.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
Roughly the thirty line by number two for.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
Robinson was moving to his right there and once again
got into the backfield, almost brought him down and Robinson
was able to stay on his feet, change directions and
run to the open side of the field there.

Speaker 1 (53:21):
So he found a lot of opening there as he
changed directions and he showed some speed as well. So
a little surprise here by East Clinton with the type
of offense we're going to come and see if we
just run this wildcat type offense with Leon Day Robinson
and next to him is Gritty Balds. And we're going

(53:45):
to get a stop each year, and we'll see how
Huntington called a time out because they did not make
the correct adjustment on what was going on. So again
a little change up here by East Clinton. Now Huntington
needs to make sure they ads on the defensive end.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
I love that time out by coach Beeler there. His
team just gave up a big run and he didn't
like the way that they were that his team was
lined up there for the next play. Uh, so he
takes the time out and just as a way to say, guys,
we're not going to be happy with a twenty seven
point lead.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
We're not going to start to get sloppy.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
We're going to continue to do the things that we've
been doing so that we can continue to play well.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Get a reminder for tonight. Following tonight's game, It's Friday
Night Live. Joined host Tim Skaggs for a look at
all the score from across the region and interviews with coaches.
Listen after the game until midnight for Friday Night Live,
presented by Accurate Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing. Here on ninety
four Country w KKJ, and on Buckeye Country one oh

(54:52):
five point five. Well Andrew the beginning weekend of high
school football here in the Regi and all across the
state of Ohio.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
It's fall. It is. It doesn't maybe quite feel like
it yet, but it's starting to get there.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Back to Paully at quarterback here, coach, that's an interesting,
interesting development, and.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
We have a stoppage. It looks like we're going to
get a someone does not have the proper equipment, so
we're going to get someone else in the game to
play right tackle for or left tackle for. He's Clinton,
and as you said, Pauli is back in the game.
He is going to be the lone person in the backfield.

(55:38):
He's got risnow I'm sorry, he's got Bogs next to him,
but one receiver to the right, one.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
Of the left. Paully goes back to pass, throws.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
A ball up the air. That's number twenty five and
that's going to end up being batted down. So his
attempted pass to Zethan Maxwell gets knocked down by number
two Vegan Woodgram.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
Kind of ran into each other both going for the ball.

Speaker 19 (56:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
It created the inflation, but.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
Probably had a cricket shot at interception there.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
So again that's going to bring up a second down.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
In ten with one fourteen to go here in the
first quarter. Again, your score is Huntington twenty seven. He's
Clinton zero.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
He's all he's a sophomore, and all the things that
we said about Frankie Hurst.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Being comfortable, he's just not there right now.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
Pull he turns and hands to balls and he goes
off to the right side, and he's going to be
stopped the interior of that defensive line by Huntington. That
is number I believe seventeen and fifty one. So again
we're seeing a lot of different guys in the game.
For Huntington, number seventy is I do not see that

(57:02):
on my list. There a coach, There is Max Schrader,
a freshman. Max Trader a freshman, and so we've seen
two freshmen here tonight get some early time. And then
number fifty one as well, that's Casey Moseley. So East
Clinton comes to the lineup scrimmage, Emery Polly waits on

(57:22):
the direct snap to him, he fumbles, it goes straight
down on top of it. Why because number fifty Jackson.
McNeil was right there.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
These two McNeil players have made a living Tonight's getting
in Clinton backfield and.

Speaker 1 (57:40):
Again McNeil good sized kid, and he has showing some
quickness there from that defensive end. So fourth that brings
up by fourth and thirteen for East Clinton.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
And we're going to get the end of the first
quarter with the score.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
Twenty seven and these extra point gable the week on
ninety four Country w KKJ.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
As we start the second quarter, this quarter is brought
to you by Shine on Chillicothe dot org. And this
quarter is going to start with a fake punt. Leandre
Robinson takes a snap and he is going to go nowhere.
He was not even really able to get upfield at all.
He's going to get a gain of one. But Huntington

(59:34):
was not fooled by that.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
They were not at all for it and drugging the
jump that way, never had much of a chance. Just
some first quarter stats passing from Frankie Hirsch, three touchdowns
as a team, they rushed for fifty five yards. Fifty
one of those were from Isaac Taylor.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
So again, a good first quar all around for the
Huntington Huntsman. They're going to start the second quarter in
East Clinton Territory, so again I believe that is now
five or four of their drives starting an opponent's territory.
Hirst now hands off coming around the end two number
zero and that is.

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Going to be Evan Thomas. But I think that is
going to be brought back.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
It's unfortunately because Isaac Taylor just threw an unbelievable block
on one of the East Clinton defenders on the hustital
with so again they were not set at the snap
of the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
So we're going to get an illegal motion penalty and
we're going to back up five yards and I think
we're going to see that play again here soon.

Speaker 23 (01:00:44):
That five yard Philly is going to make it first
and fifteen.

Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Again, nice run there by Evan Thomas wiped out by
the illegal procedure. So brings up a first and fifteen
from the forty two yard line of East Clinton. Hurst
comes out. Isaac Taylor just threw one of those blocks
that you can't wait to get into film tomorrow and watch.
So Isaac Taylor to the left hand side of Frankie Hirsch.
She's going to hand off. As I said, this one's

(01:01:09):
going to go up the middle two number zero Evan Thomas.
So he came from the right hand side in motion.
He gets the handoff and he's going to gain back
those five yards. They just lost.

Speaker 23 (01:01:21):
The huntsman from the Astros thirty seven yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Yeah, that was a It worked last time, so let's
try it again and it was effective again.

Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
Coach, you had an update on one of the scores
for tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Yeah, it looks like Greenfield is up seven and nothing
over a Dina after the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
So again, all area scores.

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
If you go to our website KKJ dot com and
look at the Mill City Apparel scoreboard, Isaac Taylor around
the right hand.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Side, and he's got a lot of room.

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
He's going to get all the way to the end
zone and that's going to be a thirty seven yard
touchdown run by Isaac Taylor.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
Coach, he just ran thirty seven yards and was not touched.
You know a lot of times, we're not gonna we're
not gonna single out offensive linemen for.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
The work that they're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
But the job they just did of moving the East
Clinton defensive line created so much space prison.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
That he was able to turn the corner and nobody
had a chance to get him. Yeah, and again he
showed some of that speed.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Boy, he has put on some pounds and we're gonna
get a flag here, but that kick was no good.
But Isaac Taylor looks strong, he looks healthy, and he's got.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Some speech to it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
If I'm a cornerback on the outside, I don't want
to see him coming at me because he's got some.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Definitely muscle to him.

Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
At that point, a lot of guys are gonna make
business decisions, so.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
That is going to be a no good.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
They're going to decline that penalty that was on Huntington,
and we're going to have a extra point that was
no good, and that's going to leave the score at
thirty three to nothing for the Huntington Huntsman. And I
believe I can't remember the number we're looking for, but
I believe a thirty point lead is going to go

(01:03:17):
to running clock.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Possibly does that happen in I think it's thirty five,
but that may not be until the seventh.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Kyle, Well, we got some time here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Huntington Archery Program is hosting the Camped Cattail White Tail
Festival Tomorrow, August twenty third at Camp Cattail from nine
am to six pm. Come out and participate in the
twelve target three D archery course. There will be an
awesome lineup of local vendors and concession by Punky's Seafood.

(01:03:47):
All this to benefit Camp Cattail. So Huntington getting ready
to kick off again. Junior McDonald. This kick is all
the way down the field and that's going to make
it all the way the end zone for a touchback.
He said that one was not as strong, but it
got all the way to there for a touch ackt

(01:04:08):
But he's done a good job on his kickoffs tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
Junior McDonald. Yeah, it looked like the.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Ball might actually die before the goal line, but the
East Clinton player had already kind of given up on it,
so it could have.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Been a chance for another Huntington opportunity there.

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
A reminder of fans, tonight's game will be available for
replay starting tomorrow morning. Click on WKKJA dot com and

Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Hopefully, Andrew and I sound better on that podcast than
we do to ourselves.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
As someone texted me earlier, I definitely have a face
for radio.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
So we're in the right job here, liv Emory PAULI
back to pass. He throws out here to the right
hand side. That's going to be number thirty three. That
is Colt Jamison and that was a completed pass and that's.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
What we're going for about an eight yard game. He's NASA.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
Yeah, he finally had He's a lot of time to
deal with there. He looks like a little bit GIMPI
comes back onto the field, maybe dealing with some some
minor injuries.

Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
Well we're looking again. You're looking at a sophomore who
is standing what six' three and he's listed at one.
Fifty so he's going to as he gets, older maybe
put some muscle on that body as. Well but he
is good looking size. Quarterback, again he throws out here
and that is going to be intercepted and that is

(01:05:41):
going to be a. Touchdown Or junior McDonald.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
He stepped right in.

Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Front they were in the same exact pass play As
junior McDonald stepped right in front of the number twenty
or thirty Three Colt jamison waiting for that to, happen and,
boy he caught in his stride and no one touched.

Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
Him, yeah last, Time huntington kind of a soft coverage
on that. Play He's clinton went back to it And
junior McDonald jumped the route and again with his speed
once he caught it there on the, sideline there was
nobody that was going to catch.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
Him McDonald isdhal.

Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
McDonald now he's going to do the extra point attempt.
Here uh and again he, said a big. Night he's
been there a.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
Lot doing kicking and.

Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
Kickoff so now he's got two touchdowns on the. Night
one a pass reception From Frankie hirsch of fifteen yards
and now a twenty seven yard interception return for a.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Touchdown at zero with us right.

Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
Right, now the score stands forty to nothing after that
good extra point.

Speaker 23 (01:06:46):
Interception number twenty, Four junior and, McDonald.

Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
I think we're well on our way to a running
clock for the entire second.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Half, coach tell you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
What we will take a quick break here the accurate

Speaker 12 (01:08:01):
Learn, more or visit trump viradio dot.

Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
Com junior McDonald's kickoff reaches the end zone for another.
Touchback so he's done a great job here tonight on those,
kickoffs and The astros are going to take over at
their own twenty yard line here with nine fifty seven
to go in the first. Half, yeah that's a that's.

Speaker 3 (01:08:22):
A skill being able to put the ball into the
end zone and not giving the other team a chance
to you, know return. It it's not gonna make a big,
deal you, know make a big change in the scoreboard
on a night like, Tonight but when you're playing a
really good team who might have a really good returner
to be able to keep it away from that that
player can make a, big big.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Difference, yeah it's a it's a, weapon.

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Definitely that a lot of teams and talking to some
of the coaches that if they don't have that, weapon
it's a difficult. Decision how do you do? That that
find that is a snap that is fumbled By. PAULLY
i don't think it ever came up to him and
all he is going to recover, it but that's going
to be a loss of seven For East. Clinton that's
going to take the ball back to the fourteen yard

(01:09:06):
line and bring up that is going to be second
and it's going to be second and seventeen for The
astroids from the room thirteen yard. Line so, again positive
start here For huntington to the twenty twenty five football.
Season in a beautiful complex out here at The Huntington
High school with The Mural Shoemaker Athletic, Complex holly back to,

(01:09:29):
pass he is not able to get his feet set
to throw the. Ball he's going to be wrapped up.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
There and that is number.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Thirty, three thirty Three Red.

Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Fips that Is Red.

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Phipps we've heard his name already once second sack of the.
Night again he is not listed as a, starter but
he has been in a lot for third and Final
huntington and we're going to get a time out By East.

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Clinton so, again, yeah it's coming in, interesting you know
time right now For East clinton because you, know you
want to do what you do and you don't want
to give up on it too, soon and you want
to try, to you, know get reps at the things
that you, do which it appears to Be paul at
the quarterback position and you, know getting some getting some

(01:10:19):
pass attempts. In but they went Till robinson one time
in the wildcat. Formation they got nineteen yards out of,
it then there was a time out and they haven't
gone back to it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Since so, AGAIN i, know especially in week, one you
don't want to you don't want to go away from
what you do too.

Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Quickly but you also don't want to destroy confidence and
that that With robinson at The, wildcat that may be
a chance for them to kind of get out of
this game unscathed and give them a chance to compete
a little.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Bit.

Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Yeah, again as coach mentioned in our, interview this is
his first year, there he's trying to create.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
SOMETHING a lot of a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
These guys he met just a month, ago SO i
mean they're still early in their.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
Relationship so he's.

Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
Trying to find out the best team he could put
together to get on the field right, now and right
now he's run against a buzzsall here At, honeyton very,
experienced mature and the team that has a lot of.
Weapons pay takes the snaphands off To Leandre. Robinson he
tries to find an opening and can. Not he goes
down quickly in the, backfield and this is going to

(01:11:26):
be another loss For He's. Clinton that's going to be
a six yard, loss and uh, again a great job
there By Leon robinson.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Looks like he's a really good athlete right.

Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
Now when he when he gets the ball on the,
handoff he looks up and there's three green jerseys right
in front of.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
Him and there's just not much you can do at that.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
Point so, again you're looking at a lot of kids
that are young The East clinton, team a lot of,
sophomores a few freshmen that are out. There this punt
By Leon Ray robinson is going to fall dead at
the thirty yard, LINE i mean Where huntington will take
over first and ten with eight ten to go here

(01:12:11):
in the first. Half but, again this is a team
that is truly trying to find an, identity and you,
know it's tough when you get in a game like
this to do, that but you got to remember there's
still a lot of game left and you got to
find some positive things to take out of you do
you have to.

Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
You, know especially at halftime as a coaching, staff you
have to come back in and, say you, know what is.
It what are some small goals that we can set
for ourselves to help us feel like we Come we're
coming out of tonight with some positive.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Steps those of you that don't, Know andrew AND i
are both Former i'm a former, coach you're a current.
Coach so a lot of coaching coming out of us
and some of the things that come. Out that's Why
andrew's up here with us for his coaching. Knowledge, andrew
did you ever play?

Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
FOOTBALL i had a glorious football career one year seventh.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Grade, uh it didn't go so well and that was
the end of. It so.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
SO i may not be the most qualified person for this,
job but we'll give it our best.

Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
Shot andrew's family has a great background in. Radio though
his dad did some radio games as well as his.
Uncle we're not going to mention his, name but that's
Not he's also done some games as, well and so
it's great to Have andrew with Us. Huntington hirst takes
a snap and this is going to be again some
new faces in number eleven For, huntington and that Is Aaron.

(01:13:42):
Sam's another freshman gets a carry and that's going to
be a one yard.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
Game, yeah this is.

Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
A great opportunity to get some younger guys some. Reps and,
again see what you got with your with your. Group
and so Coach bieler is taking advantage of these.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Opportunities.

Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
YEAH i wonder how long he would keep hershing there
as off, quarterback but, again you want to get some
reps in. THERE i don't think they're going to have
him running the ball very, much but again just using
him as a leader out there to keep the offense
calm with those youngsters in the. Game so we're gonna
get a pre snap penalty of approachment sure off sides

(01:14:22):
by The, astros and that's going to take the ball
five yards down the field and it's going to bring
up a second and four to.

Speaker 23 (01:14:29):
Four the hunter twenty four yard.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Line so again we can see a lot of youngsters
in the. Game you got number ten that Is Colton,
hirsch a ninth, grader that's a. Freshman you got number Three,
Calvin i'm, sorry and number Three, parker a. Senior he's
in the. Game hand off there to number, four That's Maverick.

(01:14:53):
Hartesy he's going to take it around the right hand
side and he finds some. Opening he's gonna get all
the way inside the ten yard.

Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
Line.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
Here uh he fumbled the, Ball that snap was fumbled
a little, bit but that's going to lead to a
first down and that is a gain of seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Yards yeah he. Did and uh so first and goal
For huntington yard.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Line and, Again hirsh being out there gives these youngsters a.
CHANCE a lot of times you put a young quarterback
out there this early in the. Game they still may
have some you, know. Jitters but leaving hirsh out there
to run the offense and let these guys uh get
some reps in it is a good, thing. Yep and

(01:15:40):
off the hardesty around the right side again he's going
to get positive yardage and that's going to take it
all the way down to the three yard. Line so
again second and goal from the three yard line and
a heartseas he's got like four or five reps here
as far as some rushes.

Speaker 10 (01:15:55):
To Carry.

Speaker 23 (01:15:58):
Kennedy and he's on the seven yards on these four.

Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
Carries again as a kid that is is on the smaller,
side but he's not afraid of. Contact, you runs where
he's supposed to and and tries to get the extra
yard forty to nothing here for The huntsman as we
hit the six minute mark to go to here in
the first, half All huntington here in this, game hersho
waits a, snap hands off the heart to see this

(01:16:25):
time on the left, side it looks like we've got
a flag in, there and from the looks.

Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
Of, it we're gonna get a hold On. Huntington so
that denies that touchdown by Heartes sy and it's going
to bring it back ten. Yards so we have had
quite a few. Penalties so you, know when you look
at The, huntington, hey what are you gonna talk, about
how you're gonna discuss things?

Speaker 23 (01:16:49):
Tomorrow what are you gonna work?

Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
On, well you, KNOW i had some penalties here in
the first. Half you gotta make sure you shore that
up as you go into week.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Two, yeah and those are things that happened earlier in the.
Season but on the flip, side if you're you, know
as we talked About East clinton's, coach he's going to
go into the locker room and try to find ways
to create small. Victories if you're if you're Coach bieler
With huntington right, now you want to go in and
challenge your group.

Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
To do better at.

Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
Something and that's that's one thing that he'll easily be
able to talk. About hersh hands off and that play
did not get turned.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Off avercart is going to be taken down in the
backfield By Grady bogs and that was basically an all out,
BLITZ i believe from.

Speaker 3 (01:17:32):
They were coming right through the middle And maverricartosty never
had much of a chance on that.

Speaker 1 (01:17:38):
Carry so this is going to bring up third and
goal from the fifteen yard line For. Huntington Frankie hurst
still in at quarterback For. Huntington look out there and
we still SEE i believe that it's still The. OH
i do see some subs center in the offensive. Line

(01:17:59):
we'll try to get all those names to. You number
six in the. Backfield now he's going to take the
handoff and he is going to.

Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Lose a couple of. Yards Tyler. Hardman Tyler hardman gets a.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
Carry that's going to bring up fourth down and we'll
see if we get maybe a few that's probably awfully
long field.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Goal we're probably looking at thirty seven yard.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
Field so it looks like we're gonna keep the offense
out there on the, field run the clock down until
we get a time.

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Out.

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Here just look How honeyton's going to treat. This but,
again this being the first, game you, know how how
do you want to try to do? This you want
to try a field gold of the length to see
exactly how far we can. Try they're talking To junior
McDonald down there on the. Sidelines he's a. Kicker, Yeah
i'm Sure junior is going to, say, yeah let's give
it a. Ghost so he is coming out on the

(01:19:00):
field and he's bringing his.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
Tea, so, yeah we're going to get a.

Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
Field goal to tempt.

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
Here, yeah now's the time to.

Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
TRY i, mean you, know even, if even if in
practice you're not routinely hitting, these it's a game situation
and those are always different and you never know how
you're going to respond until.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
You get into those game. Situations and right now you
have a chance to take advantage of that without it hurting.

Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
You and, again what a beautiful setting we have right
now as the sun is going, down the lights are
starting to kick in here At Huntington High school and
beautiful pine trees in the, distance and just a wonderful
setting for high school football here at The Merle Shoemaker
Athletic complex At Huntington High. School so we are going

(01:19:46):
to get a field goal to, tempt and it's going
to be, Officially i'm going to say that's beyond The
so we're going to give it a thirty seven yard
field go to temp tier. By junior McDonald's snap kicks up.
It it's looking pretty good and just. Short he had

(01:20:07):
to height the had almost the. Distance but again that's
a great attempt there By junior, McDonald give your coach
some confidence in you to, say you know, what if
we get inside that twenty yard, line we're going out
for a field.

Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Goal. Yep, now it doesn't give us coach confidence and
gives him confidence there has the ability to make that
kind of field.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Goal so, again with.

Speaker 1 (01:20:30):
Three two to go here in the first, half your
score Is huntington Forty East clinton nothing. Again for all the,
scores go to our WEBSITE wkkja dot com and look
on the score page on The Mill City apperil scoreboard

(01:20:50):
to find all the scores of tonight's. Games, also ninety
Four country is not the only place to hear tonight's.
Action iHeart Radio sports brings you four games each week
across the. Region we get another turnover, There. Andrew that
was a quick. Snap we're gonna get an interception by number,

(01:21:15):
Eleven Aaron. SAMs and again there's a freshman making a
play for you air in the first, half AND i
believe andrews that turnover NUMBER i believe that's the.

Speaker 23 (01:21:25):
Fourth nineteen yard.

Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Line So honington gets the ball right. Back, again that
was a quick snap, there didn't get all that. Red
but for our scheduling links to listen to games on
the F iHeart free iHeartRadio, app click on high school
sports coverage on W kkj dot. Com we're gonna get
a new quarterback into the game and that's gonna be number,

(01:21:50):
five and that Is Levi. Pottery freshman comes into the
game to take his first snap on A friday. Night
he's going to Have Maverick hardesty next to, him fellow
freshman hand Off artisty looking for. Somebody he goes. Left
now he's going to turn, right try to find some.
Opening he does find an. Opening he gets around the,

(01:22:12):
end he's going to get upfield for a first. Down
that's going to be a gain of fourteen yards.

Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
By the young.

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Man he is able to get a first.

Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Down a really good block there By Keon. Woods if
the play kind of.

Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Breakdown it wasn't really going, anywhere the artistic kind of
changed directions In woodruff staate alert and really provided the
key block that allowed him to make a positive.

Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
Game so we see on the offensive line, THERE i
see number sixty, Five Cayden.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
Baker he's a.

Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
Sophomore we'll try to get some of the other ones
out there, again snap hand off To. Hardes see he
goes up the middle trying to find an opening and
he's going to be stopped by believe that is find
number five and That's Kylin. Florida saw a lot of

(01:23:05):
young youngsters on the field here for both teams right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
Now, yeah there are AND i really like what Coach.

Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Feeler is doing here with just getting these young kids
on the field and providing opportunities for them to to
play when the lights are.

Speaker 1 (01:23:20):
On so, again we'll try to get as many of
these youngsters names that we can on the. AIR i
say number one is out there as. Well That's Jonah
yeats at a receiver. Position you're gonna flag on the

(01:23:43):
play there that will be on the. Flight it'll be
a dead ball fall start on the, hustler gonna drive
him back five.

Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
Yards, Yeah huntington just didn't get set there on the.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
Outside and this is kind of what you can run into.

Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Though sometimes when you're running so many different guys in and,
out you just had to end up with guys and
spots that they may not normally be in and and
sometimes that just creates. Confusion.

Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
Yeah so again we still see SOME i See Jared
johnson out there in the offensive. Line that looks LIKE
i see a number sixty.

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
And that Is Jared.

Speaker 1 (01:24:18):
Moore he's still out. There and that's going to be
a humbled snap that looks like and that is going
to be recovered by number, Five Levi. Potter so, again
a lot of jitters here for these young players get
on the field here for the first time in the
first half of game one in the two five football.

Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
Season third and goal all the way back at the
sixteen yard.

Speaker 23 (01:24:45):
Line, six.

Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
Let's see if they Let potter take a take a
shot here at the end. Zone so, again third down and,
goal that's gonna be another fumbled. Snap six on the.

Speaker 23 (01:25:08):
Car we'll also on the playoff four. Yards it's going
to be fourth and gold for the.

Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
Hustling also in there on the offensive. Lines Fact Rader
trader a freshman out, there and we're gonna get a
another field goal to Kemp.

Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Tier, COACH.

Speaker 28 (01:25:26):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
Again we're gonna look at a twenty thirty seven yard
field goal to Tamp tier By junior McDonald's for the.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Hustling see what we got.

Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
Snap placement, Kick, oh he's got plenty of distance on this,
one and that is a no doubter thirty seven yard field.

Speaker 2 (01:25:54):
Goal that would have been good.

Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
Five that was, impressive was. Easy that's because not only
did he do, that but the snap was. High it
took a second for the holder to get it down
and sometimes that can affect, timing and he didn't let
it affect him at.

Speaker 1 (01:26:11):
All AND i believe that holder Is Calvin, hirsch a
freshman who did a good job of getting that hole
down and giving McDonald a chance to make. That so,
again very impressive field goal and again another, weapon another
opportunity that teams are going to have to worry. About
for This huntington. Team as we get close to the

(01:26:39):
end of the first, half fifteen seconds to go, here
we had wait on the kickoff.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
McDonald's again a great start to.

Speaker 1 (01:26:50):
The twenty five football season before The Huntington, huntsman a
start that you could only probably dream. Of and the
kick is going to go all the way, down it's
going to be touched and he stepped out of bounce
at the four yard. Line again a great directional, kick

(01:27:12):
and again that's another. Weapon you use directional kicks.

Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
To try to get teams.

Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
To either try to catch it and then step out
of bounce like just. Happening ball goes out of. Bounce
then the other team gets it onto thirty. Five so,
again good job there by.

Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
Mister. McDonald he has had himself quite the.

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
Night he has twelve seconds left here in the half
on starting on their on the five yard. Line i'm
assuming that this will just be a meal here.

Speaker 1 (01:27:50):
Again we are treated wonderfully here At Huntington High. School
just brought some food by those People Superintendent, Ruby Principal Craig,
Kerns athletic Director Justin, kello AND pa Announcer Bud. Lytel
they do a wonderful job here and we are treated.

(01:28:10):
Well and that's going to bring us to the end
of the first. Half your score The Huntington huntsman three
and The East Clinton astros. Zero you're listening to the
accurate heating game of the week on ninety Four country W.

And it's halftime here On. iHeartRadio my Name's Todd. Walker
and just because it's, halftime it doesn't mean we don't
have anything to talk. About it's time to get into
the halftime. Huddle chris And, eehoff THE ceo of THE,
nfhs is our guest here on the. Program we want
to talk about a new initiative you guys have rolled
out Called protect The, purpose referring to high school sports and,

(01:31:27):
activities And i'm guessing that this deals with trying to
keep the focus on how athletics benefits a kid's education
and their academics and even vice. Versa is that what
that program is?

Speaker 26 (01:31:41):
For, yes that is spot on. Todd over the last few,
years in, particular our state associations and our school based
programs have come under. Fire state associations have regulations and
bylaws for very good reasons to create environments that are education,

(01:32:01):
based that are fair for, participants that are really monitored
by their schools and they're not pulled by external. Forces
and we've started to see state associations receive ongoing pressure
from state, legislatures some to the degree that they're threatening
to take over the work of the state. Association we

(01:32:24):
have a number of parents that have sought out legal
counsel because the decision was made that they didn't. Like
AND i often, say you, know lawyers can be, expensive
legislators are.

Speaker 30 (01:32:34):
Free but all of this has resulted in more challenges
to the state associations and literally hundreds of transfer hearings
and waivers to things that states have in.

Speaker 26 (01:32:48):
Play the states do their best to respond to provide
a conversation about these, matters but sometimes they don't go.
Well at the same time that states are getting pressure
to change their business, model if you, will we're also
seeing trends at the collegiate and professional levels that some

(01:33:10):
people believe should be taking place at the high school.
Level free, transfers for, example looking at THE ncaa transfer
portal shift AT il which is becoming a very hot
topic at the professional and collegiate, levels not so much
at the high school, level but it's. There we're starting

(01:33:31):
to see some of our high school kids.

Speaker 28 (01:33:33):
Get courted by.

Speaker 26 (01:33:37):
Coalitions of lawyers even but outside groups collectives.

Speaker 28 (01:33:41):
We call, them that entice students and families.

Speaker 26 (01:33:45):
To perhaps look toward a certain direction with kind of
a carrot on the string of being a contract with
some financial. Gain we're really trying to educate our schools
and our membership about. That we certainly believe that every
student owns their, name image and, likeness but what they
don't own is the school. Jersey so we're trying to

(01:34:07):
be very protective of having our high school student athletes
not enter into professional contracts while representing their.

Speaker 28 (01:34:15):
School so we're starting to see.

Speaker 26 (01:34:18):
Some of those issues really cloud some of the energy
that states have to apply to settling these issues. Down
so this Initiative protect The purpose is a pretty straightforward
way of, saying we need to protect the purpose of
education based athletics and. Activities and that's what this campaign
will do through toolkits that we're sending to, states through

(01:34:40):
PSAs that can be personalized.

Speaker 28 (01:34:44):
One pagers that describe The State association metrics to use
with legislators or anyone that might question the business of a,
state and a number of other resources that state associations can.

Speaker 26 (01:34:58):
Use to really arm themselves with proactive information answers to
people's questions about why things are the way they, are
why states do what they, do and why our activities really.
Matter you, know In, ohio you've got over eight hundred
high schools that are a member of The State. Association

(01:41:02):
of the stats that stand out for us here in
the first, Half, Well huntington has one hundred and twenty
two yards. Rushing Isaac taylor has eighty eight yards by
himself on only seven. Carries pass Passing Frankie hirsch has
Five he's five for five for eighty five yards and three.
Touchdowns receiving, Wise Dalton nichols has has.

Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
Two catches for thirty seven yards and two. Touchdowns junior
McDonald has two catches for eighteen yards in a. Touchdown
huntington has forced five turnovers For East clinton And East
clinton has just really struggled to get any sort of
momentum going, offensively they have two completions for fifteen, yards.

Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
And our way in the.

Speaker 3 (01:41:54):
Negative on, Rushing they're just outmatched on the line and
that's just creating all kinds of mismatches and opportunities For
huntington to disrupt what He's clinton is trying to.

Speaker 1 (01:42:07):
Do so in my conversation with Coach bieler here this,
AFTERNOON i could sense a lot of, excitement but it
was sort of contained. Excitement he was he knew what
his team was capable, of and they've really come out
here tonight had done. That and again we talked about
in the, interview the excitement of the end of last

(01:42:28):
year has definitely carried, over and the time and the
effort that these young players have put in over the
summer and now in the preseason really shows on the
football field.

Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
Tonight, yeah they've been't.

Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Really really impressed It AND i know you and it
isn't probably the measuring stick that you want to use
as far as the rest of your season, like but
they've done everything that you could have hoped your team would.
Do if you're Coach. Bieler they've they've been, physical they've you,
know found open. Receivers their offensive line is moving guys

(01:43:04):
in front of them to create rout lanes for your running. Backs,
defensively they've been in the right. Spots their line and
linebackers are disrupting Everything East thinton's trying to. Do you
really just couldn't have stripped it any better if your
Coach bieler.

Speaker 1 (01:43:19):
Again going down to score in summary here in the first,
Half huntington got on the board at its first score
at eleven twenty six to go in the first quarter
on a nine yard run By Isaac. Taylor the McDonald
point after was.

Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
Good they led seven to.

Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
Nothing very soon, After huntington gets her second score at
the six.

Speaker 2 (01:43:43):
To fifteen, mark a fifteen yard pass.

Speaker 1 (01:43:46):
From Frankie hirsch To junior. McDonald the next point was
no good There at that point it was thirteen. Nothing
huntington scored again at the five oh two mark in
the first, quarter a twenty one yard pass From Frankie
hirsch To Dalton, nichols and the extra point.

Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
Good twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Nothing the last score of the first quarter was a
sixteen yard pass From hersch To. Nichols, again this, time
the point after was, good and after the end of
the first quarter was twenty seven. Nothing huntyton opened the
scoring in the second quarter at the ten to fifty
mark thirty seven yard run By Isaac, taylor his second
touchdown in the ninth extra point no.

Speaker 2 (01:44:26):
Good they led thirty three to.

Speaker 1 (01:44:28):
Nothing huneyton then scored again less than a minute later
at the nine to fifty seven mark on a twenty
seven yard interception return By junior.

Speaker 2 (01:44:38):
McDonald his own extra point was. Good forty to nothing For.
Huntington they ended.

Speaker 1 (01:44:45):
The scoring in the first half with fifteen seconds to
go on a thirty seven yard field goal By junior
McDonald and that led us to the score of forty
three to nothing as it stands here at half time.

Speaker 2 (01:50:32):
School, yeah it'll.

Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
Be interesting to see here in the second Half loo
what kind of adjustments are. MADE i would assume we
have seen the last Of huntington's most of their. STARTERS
i think we'll see a lot of their younger guys
here in the second. Half i'd be interesting to see
If He's clinton tries anything different. Here you, know in

(01:50:54):
a game like this week, one you never want to.
Overreact so if You're East clinton got a whole new,
system a whole new, Staff you're a young, team.

Speaker 2 (01:51:06):
You know this this how you start isn't how you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
Finish and for, them it's going to be a matter
of just continuing to get better every week and seeing.

Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
Improving over the course of.

Speaker 3 (01:51:15):
Time and and conversely With, huntington you, KNOW i think
they've done everything they've they were supposed to do. Tonight they,
Have they've handled their business and looked really good doing.
It but they're going to have a really good opponent
in week. Two they Play Eastern pike next, week and
and that's a really good football.

Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
Team and so.

Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
You, know you want to take the lessons from, tonight
but but not get too not get too happy about.

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
It and get back to.

Speaker 1 (01:51:44):
Work, yeah next week they go on the road for
the first time here in twenty twenty FIVE uh to
take on An Eastern pike, team Whereas East clinton they
will have their first home game next week and they
will be Faced. Cedarville so as they look on down
the line to some other. Things also a reminder to our,

(01:52:06):
listeners this half is probably going to go by a
little quicker than normal as the old HS aa rules
come into effect in the second. Half any team over
a thirty five point, lead we will have a running,
clock so as the clock will continue to run even

(01:52:26):
with incompletions and going out of bounds here in the second.
Half so we're going to try to get as many
of the names that are going to be on the
field as.

Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
Possible to, you.

Speaker 1 (01:52:36):
As well as call the action quick you, know as
we have time. HERE a quick and big shout out
to our, Wives Heather day And lori postage that is
going to basically allow us to spend Our friday nights.
Together you AND i spend a lot Of friday nights,
together but here we're going to be away from.

Speaker 3 (01:52:56):
Them but we appreciate them allowing us to do what
we like to you absolutely come and.

Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
Talk sports on the.

Speaker 1 (01:53:02):
Radio so kick off here to start the second, half
and it's going to be a pooch pit kick is
going to be fielded By, huntington and, uh the dark
numbers On huntington jerseys is going to cause us some
issues here to find.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
Out darker out there in the second.

Speaker 1 (01:53:18):
Half, yeah who these newer people in on the field.
Are so we will try our best to get you
who is out.

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
There and what they're. Doing so ball On. Huntington ball
is going to get started here on the forty eight yard.
Line looks Like Frankie hirsch is back in a. QUARTERBACK
i would assume.

Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
Get the offense moving a lot of hand offsn't expect
them to put put.

Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
Him in harm's way in any in any former.

Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
FASHION i was going to, SAY i wonder if Coach
bieler has told somebody once he comes out to take
his helmet and do not allow him to go back
in the, game because this is not a place where
you want to get some of these guys injured on
a forty three to nothing. Game but, again it's. Early
you want to get him some. Reps and it looks
like we're gonna See Frankie, hirsch but he's gonna be

(01:54:08):
out there with some of the youngsters. Again Maverick heartessy
next to him in the backfield snap taken By. Hirsch
given The, heartessey he runs around the right side and
he's gonna get a gain of about five yards as
he crosses midfield Into East clintons.

Speaker 2 (01:54:26):
Territory it had.

Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
No impact on the play because the play went away from,
Him But Dalton nichols just laid out An East clinton
player with a. Block and that's the stuff that when
you're talking about changing culture and developing who you want
to be and the kind of toughness you want to play.
With when you have a kid that's not in any
way involved in a play still going one hundred, percent

(01:54:49):
that's the.

Speaker 2 (01:54:50):
Kind of thing that wins games down the. Line all, right.

Speaker 1 (01:54:53):
Hirsh in the backfield With, Hartessey i'm gonna get motion
TO i believe that is number zero and that Is Evan.
Thomas he's going to get the ball around the right hand.
Side that's going to be a first down and that's
the gain of about seven yards on the. Play so
again we're seeing a lot of people for this hunting to,

(01:55:15):
team getting some, carries getting some opportunities here tonight in week,
one great cut there By Evan.

Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
Thomas when when he first got, it kind of got
that little, pitch it looked like he was going to
be uh be taken, down but he made a nice
quick cut and created some some room to get that first.

Speaker 1 (01:55:32):
Down so first and ten on the forty yard line
and He's, Clinton Frankie hurst who waits to.

Speaker 2 (01:55:39):
Snap he's going back to. Pass he finds a guy wide.
Open he overthrew, him but he was wide.

Speaker 1 (01:55:48):
Open that's gonna be number twenty two For huntington and
that Is colson. McNeil he's done good things on the
defensive n here they give him an opportunity on the.

Speaker 3 (01:55:57):
Offensive, yeah and you like to see that kids playing
hard all. Night he's been doing everything you ask him to.
Do give him a chance to catch a, ball and
had he caught, it it would have been a. Touchdown
East clinton came with the blitz there and had just
enough pressure On frankie that it made the pass go.

Speaker 1 (01:56:13):
Along. Yeah i'm not sure if Coach bieler called that
play because he wasn't Real he sort of turned to
look at His varsius or his offensive. Assistance we're gonna
get a quick fumble on the, exchange but hardest he
does get, it and he goes around the left hand.
Side he's able to at least get back to the line.

Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
Of scrimmage.

Speaker 19 (01:56:36):
And.

Speaker 1 (01:56:36):
Ten so that brings up third and ten for The huntsman.
Again looking at the staff That Coach bieler has put,
Together Bill, davidson a long time football.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
COACH i believe he was head coach At.

Speaker 1 (01:56:51):
Chillicothi at one point he Got Wes, Clary alex Grow, Sam,
Mitchell Daniel, Farmer Terry, Dial Robbie, Phillips Jake, Carroll Sam,
Laying Kyle, Urick Andrew, cox And Chad lytle all on the.
Staff down there For Coach bieler and The. Huntsman third
down to. Ten As frankie hersher, waits he goes back to.

(01:57:13):
Pass he's going to his right hand. Side he throws
it deep, downfield finds a man wide open to get
behind the, defender and that's going to be a forty
yard touchdown. Pass and that is From Frankie hirsch To Frankie.

Speaker 23 (01:57:28):
Hirsch's pass complete to number Twenty nichols touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:57:33):
Us, yeah we had to wait on THE pa guy
because that is all the way in the far corner
and we could not. See that's one Thing i'm going
to say to Coach bieler, is, hey these uniforms are
tough to spot.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Here in the press.

Speaker 1 (01:57:45):
Box but forty yard touchdown pass From Frankie hurst To Dalton.
Nickels so that is the third time they have hooked
up for a.

Speaker 3 (01:57:54):
Touchdown, Well Coach bieler's upset because after the player there
was a personal foul on one of the huntingson players
kind of kind of got up in one of the defenders'.

Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
Faces and.

Speaker 26 (01:58:09):
If you want to play with a competitive, fire but when.

Speaker 3 (01:58:11):
It costs your, team then it's gone overboard and he's
gonna correct, that not let those.

Speaker 2 (01:58:17):
Things happen for The.

Speaker 1 (01:58:20):
So McDonald they're gonna have that penalty and forced on to,
kickoff so McDonald will have his normal length pat and
again the darkness of that end, zone it is a
good extra point and that brings the score up to
fifty to zero here At. Huntington so again a nice

(01:58:44):
offensive drive here to start the quarter For, huntington And
i'm sure that is the last we will see A
Frankie hurst out on the field here tonight As huntington
the game comes, out has a good offensive drive to
start the second.

Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
Half, Well Dalton nichols has had quite the day receiving
H he has three catches for seventy seven yards and three.

Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
Touchdowns that is.

Speaker 1 (01:59:08):
Not a bad start to not bad at all your,
season and For, dalton that is your senior season here At.
Huntington following the, penalty so the penalty will.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Be enforced here on the kickoff as we get ready for. That,
again reminder to follow all year long on our.

Speaker 1 (01:59:36):
Website we are not the only place to hear tonight's.
Action iHeart sports brings you four games each week across
the region of our family of radio stations here in Southern.
Ohio for a scheduling links to those to listen to
those games on the Free iHeartRadio, app click high school
sports coverage on W kkj and those links will take

(01:59:58):
you directly to be able to to those live. Coverage
kick is taken at the forty yard line Of East.
Clinton that Is East clinton number, FORTY i, believe and
that Is carson.

Speaker 3 (02:00:14):
Return so these are the little things you're watching for
as a coach number. Two your team gets a personal
foul penalty on the touch after the, touchdown it makes
you kick off from your own. Twenty the one thing
you've done unbelievably well all night is kickoff and Pick
East clinton.

Speaker 2 (02:00:32):
Deep but now you have that, mistake that mental.

Speaker 3 (02:00:35):
Mistake it allows These clinton to return the kickoff and
now they're starting their drive at the fifty. Again is
that going to make a difference. Tonight, No but against
really good teams later in the, season you can't have
those kinds of mistakes because you can't give good teams easy.

Speaker 1 (02:00:50):
Opportunities so this is the best Position East clinton has
started a. Drive so getting first drive of the second,
half it looks like number. Thirty, no there he, is
that is Uh, Paul he's still in their. Quarterback he
hands off the number twenty One Leandre, robinson who slips.

Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
Up in the.

Speaker 1 (02:01:10):
Backfield that's a second or third time he has slipped
in the backfield trying to find his. Footing that's going
to be a loss of back to the forty six yard.
Line a hustling and again as we have the running
clock here in the third, quarter it is reaching the
three point thirty point to go here in the third,
quarter and he's cleaning in no hurry to get this

(02:01:36):
offensive possession going as they are taking their time and
again trying to try to find some positive, offense some
positive plays and put those. Together now we've got maybe
a mix up in the. Alignment we're going to get
a delay of game, penalty.

Speaker 23 (02:01:58):
Delay up game on the.

Speaker 1 (02:02:01):
They came out of that huddle and they had a
lot of guys that did not know where they wanted to,
be and that's going to cause a. Problem so again
we're gonna get a delay a game. Penalty and now
a coach sends in the play to make sure everybody's
on the same page and get a line lined up
the right.

Speaker 2 (02:02:19):
Way so brings up a second down and.

Speaker 1 (02:02:23):
Eighteen on their own forty two yard, line fully in
the pistol. Formation he's going back to pass looking for
a screen, pass found no. One now he's going to
take up the middle for the first. TIME i think
that's a we've seen him run and he is going
to make some positive yardies out of, that get basically
a five yard, game.

Speaker 2 (02:02:46):
And we're going to get some flags around.

Speaker 1 (02:02:48):
Here is maybe something was said or something was several.

Speaker 3 (02:02:53):
More did we have that.

Speaker 1 (02:02:55):
Many referees and we have that many? Flags maybe they
have two in their. Pocket but we're going to get
some guys taking off the field. Here and that's one
THING i think some of the football officials. Do instead
of throwing kids out of the, game they just simply, sell,
coach you need to take him off the field and
talk to. Him because IN ohsa, rules if you are

(02:03:17):
thrown out of a, game then you're gonna be sitting
out some. Games so AGAIN i think the football officials
do a good. Job and again our referee, Tonight Danny,
oates is now talking to all the other officials just
to make, sure, hey what do we have? Here and
at this is the TIME i think as a coach
is where it should be talking to your team about

(02:03:37):
what they need to.

Speaker 2 (02:03:38):
DO i THINK i counted eight flags of the. Field,
coach all.

Speaker 1 (02:03:42):
Right, WELL i know there is definitely not eight officials out,
there so some of them have a couple in their.
Pocket we're going to make sure we get all that
laundry picked up out there on the. Field and this
is one of those times that the clock does stop
as officials have to try to figure out all these
things so it is stopped at two minutes and ten

(02:04:02):
seconds agoing to third. Quarter one of the officials coming
over to Coach, beeler we're going to get a hold
on or sportsman like on the personal foul on the
astro ball. Conduct so the difference there is personal, foul

(02:04:24):
something happened on, unsportsmanlike goes on your records of the,
game and if you get two, unsportsmanlike you are going
to be.

Speaker 3 (02:04:32):
Tossed so, yeah and if You're huntington out, especially you're
just telling you, guys, look don't get involved in any extracurricular.
Stuff if something, happens just walk away from. It we
cannot afford to lose you for next week against a,
really really good.

Speaker 1 (02:04:49):
Opponent so that five yard game From paully does stand
as it was an offsetting. Penalty after the, Play paulie
now scrambling. Again he's going to find some opening and
he's going to get all the way to bounce for
a good eighth yard. Game so again we did not
see the scrambling in the first. Half he's done a
better job of not just throwing it up in the,

(02:05:11):
air but going down the field a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:05:13):
To get some.

Speaker 1 (02:05:13):
Yardage man is going to bring up fourth down and
five yards to go on forty five yard. Line is
this the first time they've been In huntington's?

Speaker 3 (02:05:23):
Territories it, Is, Yeah AND i think part of what
you're seeing From pauli right now is better. Protection he's
not defenders aren't on him right, now and it's given
them a little chance to read the field and see what's.

Speaker 1 (02:05:35):
Available as we have some other players out there For
huntington other than the. Starters so that is a quick
pass out and that is going to BE i believe
number thirty three For jamison and that's going to be
a first down for The East Clinton. ASTERS i know

(02:05:55):
they had a first down earlier in the game on
A robinson. Ron it's going to be their second first
down and there go deeper Into huntington territory as they
get inside the thirty five yard line at the thirty
four with forty seconds to go here in the third. Quarter,
yeah really nice.

Speaker 3 (02:06:13):
Read huntington had a little bit of soft coverage there
on the far side of the. Field paully saw it
and he hit his man and got the first.

Speaker 1 (02:06:20):
Down paully back to pass quick out To, jamison, catches
it gets up the, field and that's going to be
a thirteen yard game all the way down to the
twenty two yard line Of.

Speaker 2 (02:06:31):
Huntington and that's going to bring us to the end
of the THIRD.

Speaker 1 (02:06:36):
I, believe as they decide to run a quick, play
but they have done that ten seconds go here in the.
Quarter we'll hang on here a second and see if
they're able to get this one. OFF i don't think.
So so that'll bring us to the end of the
third quarter with the Score Huntington huntsman, Fifty Clinton astros.

Speaker 1 (02:08:07):
Earth back At Huntington High school as we get ready
to start the fourth, quarter and the fourth quarter is
brought to you By Middle city up, here.

Speaker 2 (02:08:18):
And we are getting.

Speaker 1 (02:08:19):
Ready it's going to be a first and ten For
East clinton and we're going to get a time out By.

Speaker 2 (02:08:26):
Huntington they were not ready.

Speaker 1 (02:08:28):
To start as they were getting some other guys on the,
field but, Uh, andrew we're just going to be a
quick fourth quarter. Here but, Uh East clinton has tried
to you, know they found some offense, now albeit it's
Against huntington's probably second team or or even maybe some other,
players but they are finding some positive offense here in fourth.

Speaker 3 (02:08:52):
Quarter, yeah and AGAIN i think a lot of that
goes back to having a little bit more time For
paula and they've they've kind of found something on the
forest side coverage Where huntington's playing a little bit. Soft
so it'll be interesting to see If huntington comes back
and makes an adjustment on. That but, certainly if you're,
here these are moments that you hold on to and,

(02:09:14):
say you, know we're starting to see things better and
and this has been an. Improvement that's what that's that's
what you hope. For it is kind of the second
half and.

Speaker 1 (02:09:24):
Again as you're coach looking for something to build on
with first year Coach Doug, miller those are things you gotta.

Speaker 2 (02:09:33):
Try to pick.

Speaker 1 (02:09:33):
Out AND i don't know if These seeds are actually
playing A jv game tonight or tomorrow because of the,
numbers but these are important, times even as the game
is a little bit out of. Reach pully back to pass,
Again he's gonna find them opening on the right hand
side as he scrambles cuts back in the, minute he
finds some more opening as he comes to left hand.
Side he's gonna get all the way down to the

(02:09:56):
six yard. Line so that's gonna be a game of
roughly twenty yards By polly AND i think this is
one of those things that Coach miller thought he was
going to see from his young, quarterback and now we're
starting to see it.

Speaker 2 (02:10:09):
Go, yeah really.

Speaker 3 (02:10:10):
Nice he was, patient wasn't anything that was developing, downfield
so he took off and they made a really nice
cut back to the middle of the field and he's
really taking advantage of his ability to scramble right.

Speaker 1 (02:10:22):
Now so, again it's going to be first in goal
For East. Clinton and, AGAIN i know it's late in the.
GAME i know there's others on the, field BUT i
think if you get a Score East, clinton this has
got to be.

Speaker 2 (02:10:31):
A positive for. Them. Yeah, Absolutely so again it looks like.

Speaker 1 (02:10:35):
We have a full house backfield and we're going to
get a. Handoff number thirteen For East clinton is on
the ball Carrier Rory, riddle but we saw some flags
in the. BACKFIELD i think because of that, lineup we're
gonna get a. Flag, yeah they just the play clock
was running down and they just never got that really

(02:10:55):
shift on the.

Speaker 23 (02:10:57):
Find the company is going to make it first in goal.

Speaker 1 (02:11:00):
For The so again it's gonna stay first and, goal
but they're gonna back it up to the thirteen yard
line now as the clock continues to run here in
the fourth, quarter ten to twenty is our. Mark and
again He's clinton comes out of the. Huttle we'll see
what type of formation they set up. In it's like
we're gonna get three guys in the backfield, Again, paul

(02:11:23):
he's gonna go under. Center if you look to get.

Speaker 3 (02:11:26):
Cold jamison the ball, here he's been your the most.
Reliable There's robinson around the right hand.

Speaker 1 (02:11:32):
Side he's gonna get about three Take actually he's gonna get.

Speaker 23 (02:11:37):
More than he's gonna get out seven.

Speaker 1 (02:11:40):
Yards he's gonna get all the way down to the
six yard. Line bring up second down and six or
second down and goal from the six yard. Line in
a wonderful start to the season here At Huntington High,
school hunts in the Lead East clinton fifty to. Nothing,

(02:12:04):
again full house backfield For East, clinton something we haven't
seen until. Now paul goes under center and we're going
to get a.

Speaker 2 (02:12:14):
Time.

Speaker 1 (02:12:14):
Out honeyton second charged time out of the second. Half
so again they want to make sure they get the
correct personnel or correct alignment on the defensive side with
this new type of alignment now is being showed By East.
Clinton can we CAN i petition THE hsa.

Speaker 3 (02:12:35):
Say you're not allowed to call a time out in
a running clock situation if you're?

Speaker 2 (02:12:39):
Ahead can we? Can we? Can can you talk to
somebody out?

Speaker 1 (02:12:42):
There, yeah we can, talk but in my understanding of THE,
ohsa there's a lot of talking.

Speaker 2 (02:12:49):
That goes, on And i'm gonna leave it. There, YEAH
i think that's a great place to leave.

Speaker 1 (02:12:54):
It so, again hopefully tonight you have enjoyed our, broadcast
Because andre AND i will be back again next. Week
next week will be At Zane Trace High school for
The Zane Trace pioneers versus The Waverley, tigers and again
a two schools with really rich football, programs and that'll

(02:13:14):
be a hopefully a good game for us tomorrow Or
i'm going to start tomorrow Next friday up At Zane.
Trace and what my understanding is weather's supposed to get
a lot, Cooler so Next friday night maybe a wonderful fall.

Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
Evening, yeah to come out and watch a football. GAME
i can get on board with.

Speaker 3 (02:13:33):
That waverley isn't a really good one With Miami, trace
right Now Miami trace just took.

Speaker 2 (02:13:37):
A twenty eight to twenty one lead Over waverley about
halfway through the third.

Speaker 1 (02:13:42):
Quarter you, know on that petition you wanted to, Do,
yeah limit the number of flags that are.

Speaker 2 (02:13:47):
Thrown also maybe get one pro.

Speaker 1 (02:13:52):
Official so now we're counting the players And huntington has
too many out. There it looks like, yeah and, Uh
Coach beelers, like wait a, second you just call time
out to make sure this was, right and somebody else
went running out.

Speaker 3 (02:14:04):
There these are those early season hiccups that you can
kind of understand in game. One you just hope they
don't persist beyond this.

Speaker 1 (02:14:11):
Week all, Right so one person who's come off the,
field so we know now there should only be. Eleven
and now we've got a different. Formation we've Got polly
in the pistol formation with a running back to his
right and two.

Speaker 2 (02:14:26):
Receivers to his.

Speaker 1 (02:14:28):
Right he's back to, pass he's gonna scramble to the.

Speaker 2 (02:14:31):
Left he's got an. Opening he's gonna get all the
way to the end.

Speaker 1 (02:14:34):
Zone and again a nice scramble run there By paully
to get into the end zone for the first time
for The East Clinton astros as they break the scoring
mark here at eight oh eight to go here in
the fourth quarter with a six yard scramble By Emery polly.

Speaker 3 (02:14:57):
Did a really nice job of just reading the field
and seeing where the openings were and when he when
he saw what he was looking, for he took. Off
and it's been a tale of two halves for. Him
in the first half he had and a lot of
this was because of sacks and things like, this but
he had negative thirty seven yards rushing in the first
half so far in in the second half he's at

(02:15:19):
positive thirty three, Yards so.

Speaker 2 (02:15:22):
Totally different came for. Him betwel the first and second.

Speaker 23 (02:15:26):
Half making your score your hunt fifty The astros.

Speaker 18 (02:15:29):
Six so the.

Speaker 2 (02:15:30):
Extra point attempt was no.

Speaker 1 (02:15:32):
Good, again eighty one was the guy who kept. In
that is not who he said was going to kick for.

Speaker 2 (02:15:39):
Them so.

Speaker 1 (02:15:41):
Eighty, one we believe Is Braden. Woods not sure we
had an eighty one on the, roster but again our
apologies to anyone in the Ease clinton, listening but that
is what we were.

Speaker 2 (02:15:55):
Given so.

Speaker 1 (02:15:58):
The score now stands at fifty six with six minutes
and fifty seconds to go here in the fourth.

Speaker 2 (02:16:04):
Quarter, again.

Speaker 1 (02:16:10):
If you want to know scores of, games you can
go to our WEBSITE wkkja dot com and look at
The Mill City apparel.

Speaker 3 (02:16:18):
Scoreboard, yeah probably the last drive here For huntington coming.
Up you're probably gonna see all, backups all young kids
at this, point just trying to develop some confidence for.

Speaker 2 (02:16:32):
Them and clock continues to.

Speaker 1 (02:16:37):
Run here with six minutes to go now in the,
quarter as we get ready to receive a, kickoff and
the kicker there is number, Forty Carson. Gilpin see if
they don't try another. Webcick huntington is ready for it
as they have most of their guys up within fifteen.

Speaker 3 (02:16:59):
YARDS i think he missed, it Did he barely touched
it and it barely fell off the. Tee so that's
going to Be huntington ball.

Speaker 1 (02:17:10):
At the forty yard line Of East. Clinton, YEAH i
don't Think i've seen. That that is, Again i'm telling
you these, kickoffs, yeah you never know what's going to,
Happen and here we had one that was, missed barely,
touched fell off the tee and fortunately one of his
own men just fell on it to make sure it was.

Speaker 2 (02:17:32):
Down, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:17:36):
So with five minutes to go here in the, quarter
we're going to See huntington ball first and ten At
East clinton's forty yard. Line and again let's see some
of the names that we may not have mentioned.

Speaker 23 (02:17:48):
That at The ashers forty yard.

Speaker 1 (02:17:51):
Line looks like we have number five back at quarterback
As Levi. Potter looks LIKE i see at number sixteen out.

Speaker 3 (02:18:02):
There that Is Jaden. Hawk it's like he's out there
as a. Receiver both freshman guys that you just. Mentioned
we've seen number Eleven sam's out there. Before also another,
freshman Old Jay cooper lined. Up why he's also a.

(02:18:26):
Freshman so high. Snap good job By.

Speaker 1 (02:18:32):
Levi potter of jumping up and catching that high.

Speaker 3 (02:18:35):
Snap we can only be first and fifteen for The
huntsman from The astros forty five year.

Speaker 1 (02:18:41):
Line so again first and fifteen to go. Here as
we continue on here in the fourth quarter down to
four minutes now after the, game we will have a
postgame interview with Coach. Beeler as Coach day will make

(02:19:01):
his way down on the field to.

Speaker 2 (02:19:06):
Secure that.

Speaker 1 (02:19:07):
Interview i'm sure a very happy Coach beeler getting to
win here in week, one snapped To, Potter he's gonna
take it around the right hand. Side he's gonna get
some positive, yardage gets down at least three, yards brings
up second down and.

Speaker 2 (02:19:26):
Thirteen, yeah the past the line streamage really quickly. THERE
i BELIEVE i did a.

Speaker 3 (02:19:35):
Good job of improvising just those three yards.

Speaker 23 (02:19:41):
From The ashers forty two yard.

Speaker 1 (02:19:43):
Line so again the clock continues to. Run huntington now
second down and twelve at the forty two yard line
Of East. CLINTON a lot of movement, there but the
referees allowed that to happen and continue on with the.

(02:20:05):
Play it is Six Tyler hardman on the carrier for
the Tiler By hardman.

Speaker 2 (02:20:12):
Ball.

Speaker 1 (02:20:12):
Carrier get out your fifty fifty, winner give him no
gain on that. Play brings up thirty zero twelve eight three.

Speaker 23 (02:20:19):
Five nine zero zero eight eight three five nine. Zero
you can claim your winnings at the concession stand again
zero eight eight three five nine. Zero you are the
fifty fifty.

Speaker 1 (02:20:31):
Winner you can get a successful week one for The
Huntington huntsman and they will go on the road for
week two To Eastern. Pike potter or waits a. Snap
E's clinton's coming quickly, out AND i believe that Is
we'll try to get a number here for, you, buddy side.

(02:20:53):
Step the first defender got away from a couple others
got back to the line of, scrimmage and then a
late penalty.

Speaker 2 (02:21:00):
Came in and that is like number. Eight L. J,
cooper L. J.

Speaker 1 (02:21:05):
Cooper it's, like we're going to get a penalty against
These clinton on that, one and that is going to
be at least a.

Speaker 2 (02:21:15):
Ten that's going to go. Fifteen that's going to get.

Speaker 23 (02:21:19):
A first down For.

Speaker 1 (02:21:20):
Huntington that is going to be a personal foul against
These clinton as the clock goes under a minute and
a half to go here in the.

Speaker 23 (02:21:29):
Twenty eight yard.

Speaker 1 (02:21:30):
Line so we'll see how many more plays we get
off here before this game. Ends honeyton now first and
ten at the twenty eight yard. Line Levi, potter another
flag like this one's going to be may limit the

(02:21:55):
amount of plays we're going to see because the clock
does not stop as they are moving the ball all.

Speaker 2 (02:22:00):
Back it keeps. Ticking fifty seconds to go here in the.

Speaker 1 (02:22:03):
Game game that is led By huntingdon fifty to. Six
we're going to get a.

Speaker 2 (02:22:11):
Time out here By East.

Speaker 23 (02:22:12):

Huntsman all, Right i'm here with Coach. Bieler Coach, BIELER
a great team win. Tonight you, know in a game
where you're better than your, opponent what you want to
see your team do is the things that they're supposed to.

Speaker 2 (02:32:55):
Do AND i thought you guys did that. Tonight.

Speaker 9 (02:32:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 19 (02:32:57):
ABSOLUTELY i think it starts up front with our lineman
just moving, people and you, know our. GUYS i talked
to him all the. Time it's easy to be a
man and everything's going, right you, know but you know
when you see him, tonight and they've never been in
that situation where everything was going, Right so it's nice
to be on that side of. It but our kids dug.
Deep the floodgates kind of, opened AND i thought they

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
