Last week, he had a great win on the road
at Lucasfield Valley. Talk about that game and how your
kids felt afterwards.

Getting a playoff one was really big to them.

week Saint Trace was Victoria's down in Lucasville Valley and
this week we were trying to get them on our
sister station WBEX. That was unable to happen with the
facilities at Columbus Academy. And I was able to catch

up with Saint Tres coach Dylan Wers before they left
today and here's a quick interview with him.

Actually on the road, But I think they were just
also excited at this point the season, they kind of
know what we expected them and and and we're pretty
familiar with with what we think is going to go
on in the game and how it's going to go,
and who we are and what we're going to try
and do. And the guys did a really good job
executing what was asked to them.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And Coach, that may have been probably your most complete
game of the year because you had scored in multiple
ways and you really controlled the game from the beginning
to the end.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Yeah, and that's that's that's part of why I would
say they're excited. I mean, any anytime you set out
a goal for the kids and and they execute that goal,
you know, there were proud of them.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
They're proud of themselves.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
And we really preach complimentary football and all three phases
of the game. That's you know, it's not something that
just happens by accidents for us. We really spend a
lot of time talking about and they take pride in it.

to play in week twelve. This time you go on
the road to Columbus Academy, talk to us a little
bit about what you're going to see or what we're
going to see with Columbus Academy and what you're expecting.

Yeah, first, I would say they're just a programs that's
familiar with the playoffs and it has made some deep
runs and played a lot of playoff games, you know,
in the past couple of years and.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
So we expect these guys that you know, act like
they're supposed to be there, and they're going to be
prepared and kind of know how to deal with a
week twelve playoff game. A lot of really good players
over there, very very athletic. We're going to have to
play our best football.

Yeah, it's escaped in the last few years. And this
is I think two really good teams that match up
really really well, and I think we're in for a
really good one tonight, Lou.

Yeah, a lot of speed here on the field tonight,
And unfortunately mother nature did not cooperate with us. I
did not bring the great weather I had all week
long down in the Caribbean with.

But anyways, we are here. It is not raining right now.
It's a little cool, and there is some wetness to
the field down there. But all in all, I think
in week twelve, you're gonna get good teams no matter
where you are, and you and Nioto's got a possibility
here at home to help themselves.

Yeah, and I think a lot of this tonight love
is gonna come down to how healthy is Cody Braden Right,
he got it hurt in the first play of their
Week ten win against West Fall. He is key to
everything they do. Averages over ten yards per carry and
and is just kind of the engine that makes their
offense run. So according to Coach Hoops, he said, he's
gonna he's gonna give it a go. He's he's healthy

as healthy as you're gonna be at this point in
the season. And if he is truly healthy and can
do what he does, I think that gives them a
big advantage going into this game.

The Adina Health Systems Pregame Show. We are now talking
to Uniodo head coach Matt Hoops coach. Last week, your
team had a buy in the first round of the playoffs.
Tell us what your team did last week and how
your team was able to get better.

Speaker 17 (11:38):
Well, I think one of the things we did was
we took a couple of days off just to try
to rest up a little bit from a long you know,
ten straight weeks of preparation for Friday night games. So
we gave them Monday off. We met as a staff
on Monday and kind of planned what we were going
to do on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, we practiced and implemented

a little bit of things that we may have seen
from you know, either opponent that we would possibly play.
But the main thing we did was we really just
worked on ourselves and cleaned up some things and fine
tuned some things in preparation for this Friday. So then
we gave them Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off, met with
them Sunday night, and then we've had a normal week
of practice so far.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
You know this.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Week, well, coach, your opponents here for this week is
the Columbus East Tigers, who have a nine game win
streak coming into this game, and they have put up
some pretty impressive stats offensively average and almost thirty four
points a game. Talk about what you see from the
Tigers offensively, Oh.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I think the first thing you see is they're very versatile.

Speaker 17 (12:40):
A lot of their players can do a lot of
really good things that can hurt you. They're pretty elusive,
they're very fast, and they're well coached. These guys are
put them in position to make plays and their players
make them.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
You know, they're a good team.

Speaker 17 (12:54):
They're you know what, ten and one for a reason
in the second round of the playoffs. And I just
think that they're you know, like I was saying, they're
well coached, and I think over the last four years
they've won thirty six games. So, like you know, they've
had a lot of success here recently and it's going
to be a tough task for us Friday night.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Well, equally impressive is their defense. They're only giving up
about eleven points a game. I see a lot of
players both going offensively and defensively. Talk about them defensively
and what you.

Speaker 17 (13:25):
See, same thing. You know, very aggressive, quick to the ball.
You know, they run around. It looks like they know
their assignment and play free. They just are very athletic
and you know, cause a lot of problems the defensive end.
Number fifty three is it's one of their better players

(13:46):
and their linebackers doing a nice job of making tackles,
so you know, they're always in the right spot and
it seems like they get their pretty fast.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Well, Coach, the last two years, you've had a lot
of success. You've had two straight gold balls, and you've
been able to have a couple of playoff games here
in the last two years. One thing you haven't been
able to get is that win in the playoffs. What
does your team learned from those two years and that
could possibly change the narrative for this year.

Speaker 17 (14:17):
Well, I think the playoffs are a funny thing because
it is about matchups and you know everyone you're play
in the playoffs is going to be good. We really
felt like, you know, three years ago, we played Clinton
Massey and they just are well known for you know,
what they do, which is foot to foot splits and
they run the ball all game long and are just

(14:38):
very physical. In the following year we played Urbana, who
was really athletic, and then last year we played West Holmes,
who was a combination of both of those things. But
I think what it's done is it's changed our off
season approach to how we build our team, and you know,
it's not gonna happen overnight, and it's been a process,
and we just feel like we've continued to get a

(14:59):
lot stronger after facing that Clinton Massy team. We felt
like we've gotten a lot faster after we played Urbana,
and we were really close to beating West Holmes last
year is twenty eight to twenty one, and we had
the ball inside the twenty under a minute ago and
we just couldn't score.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
So we feel like we're close.

Speaker 17 (15:17):
Obviously, this Friday night is going to be a testament
to how fast we really are, how fast have we
gotten because Columbus East, if they aren't anything, they're definitely
they are definitely fast and we'll just have to see
where we met, where we fall when we play well.

establish the run in between the tackles and go out
