Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Adena Health Systems pregame show on the
Accurate Heating, Cooling and Plumbing Game of the Week on
ninety four Country WKKJA. Tonight in week thirteen of the
high school football season, it is the third round of
the playoffs, and we come to you from Jim Rockwell
Stadium in downtown New Lexington, Ohio. In what a atmosphere
(00:25):
we got here. We got a field that sits down
in a little we'll call it a ditch, so we
got some hills around it. We have bonfires going in
people's backyards as they're sitting here. What's in the game,
and just a great atmosphere for high school football here
in the middle of November. I'm Loop Postage along with
(00:45):
me tonight is my son Trade Postage and taking care
of us. Back in the studio is Sydney Newsom Trade.
Here we are week thirteen. Unieto is still playing. Yeah,
it's it's nice to be back here.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Like you said, they have bonfires that is going real
close to the field, so that's that's interesting there. So yeah,
coming in U Niota versus New Lexington, and you know,
two high powered offenses here tonight, looking to advance to
the Elite eight. So we'll see how we're going here
with a you know, a great night for football.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, this is the regional semi finals where Region fifteen
and tonight it's the New Lexington Panthers, the number one
seed in this region taking on the Unioos Sherman's the
number four seed in Region fifteen. And as I said,
we're coming to you from New Lexington here tonight, and
we are blessed with the weather again once again, Trey.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, starting out this week, it did not look very
good with all that snow and really really cold weather.
So you know a lot of these teams didn't go
through much on Monday anyway, they probably didn't have, you know,
a normal atmosphere of practice on Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
But now you know we're here Friday night, a little chili,
but you know it's not gonna be chilly for those
players on the field. Well, we're gonna talk to coach
Matt Hoops about some of those things earlier this week
when we come back with the interview with coach Hoops.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Welcome back to the Dina Health Systems pregame Show. I'm
now talking to UNIODO head coach Matt Hoops coach. Last week,
you were able to get the win at home against
Columbus East, but however, I thought that game was a
very physical game. How have your players come through that,
and how have they responded here this week in practice?
Speaker 15 (05:44):
Uh?
Speaker 16 (05:44):
Yeah, I think I think you're right on it when
you say it was physical. I mean not only I
mean typically you think when you think of Columbus eas
when you turn the film on and you see the speed.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
All over the place. But those guys were very physical
as well.
Speaker 16 (05:56):
And I think probably what made me the happiest was,
you know, we just right back and gave it right
back to them in terms of physicality. So, you know,
obviously after having that two weeks off, you know, we
had to keep in mind that, you know, how hard
our guys played on Friday, and and uh, you know
a little slower to come back this week from practice
or to practice, I should say, uh, from that game,
(06:17):
but uh, you know, we've had a couple of pretty
good days in terms of installing stuff and then uh
have moved forward from that game.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Well, coach, it is the mid November here in Ohio,
so the weather does play a huge role in a
lot of things. How has the weather changed your practice
around this week?
Speaker 16 (06:35):
Well, thankfully for US, mondays a little bit of a
lighter day, so you just you know, installing things like
that and it was different. I mean, you know, we
had to give them a grace period of going out
to practice and get all of the snowball fights out
of our system and the snow angels and everything they
were doing. Like I like, I just turned them loose
(06:56):
for third grade recess or something. But you know, once
once we got out out of our system and we
had a pretty good day and then yes, Tuesday was
you know, it was pretty cold and windy, but you know,
we told them, you know, this is the reward for
winning and moving on in November, and our guys, you know,
really didn't let it impact us impact them too much.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Well, coach, this week, your opponents and nude Lexington Panthers
looking at them offensively on paper, it looks a lot
like you. What have you seen from them and what
are you expecting for them come Friday?
Speaker 16 (07:26):
I don't think that. I think you're you're right on
when you say they're very similar to us. A really
good running back, explosive expokes some guys on the outside,
and their quarterback's really good. Not to mention the offensive
line is I think probably a little bit underrated. It
doesn't get enough credit as they should. You know, I
think that they'll continue to do what they've always done.
They're gonna spread us out from sideline to sideline, sort
(07:48):
of the ball short and a lot of screen game,
a lot of action, and then use their running back
once they have a spread out to run downhill. Their
quarterback likes to run the football as well, So something
we're gonna have to key on as the game goes.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Well, defensively, they're very stingy. They've only given up double
figures four times this year. What do you see from
the Panthers defensively? Again, just really sound defensively.
Speaker 16 (08:13):
They run around and they make a lot of plays,
and I think all of that starts up front with
those guys controlling the line of scrimmage and letting their
back half guys kind of run around and clean things up.
I think, you know, they're very well coached, and I
just think that they pose a lot of problems.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
I think they're a lot longer.
Speaker 16 (08:29):
Than maybe their their roster says, at least it looks
like that on film anyway.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
But just a really sound defensive football team. Well, for
the first time in a few years, you're going on
the road for a playoff game. Talk about how difficult
that is not only it's it's not a neutral site game,
but it's going to be at New Lexington. Yeah, it's
a little bit different.
Speaker 16 (08:50):
The crazy thing is when we did win a playoff
game in twenty twenty, we went on the road to
Cincinnati McNicholas, which wasn't a neutral site game there either.
But you know, none of these guys were on that team,
so they don't have that experience. Our staff does, but
the players don't, so you know, obviously we'll just treat
it as a road game. And newle is about an
(09:13):
hour and a half away, so obviously that's a little
further than we've traveled. But it's a really nice stadium,
a really good, really good facility. So I mean, our
guys are excited to be able to play in that
type of atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Well, coach, we appreciate your time and best luck home
Friday night. Thank you. When we come back, you'll hear
more about tonight's game and the keys to tonight's game.

Welcome back to New Lexington High School. This is the
Adena Hill System pregame show and we're going to look

(13:13):
on Facebook and secure the keys to your new home
with Jennifer Conley Trey. What are some keys for Unioto tonight?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Yeah, starting for Unioda offensively, you really want to get
that run game going and setting that pace for this game.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Both of these teams are averaging around.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Forty points per game, so it's really imperative they get
that run game going. With Cody Brayden, who is the
co back of the Year in the SBC, has twenty
one touchdowns on the year and over eleven hundred yards
rushing and also is missing some of their key players
tonight with Jackson Zikafoos and Levi Bean, both two wide
receivers that they really relied on offensively are out with
(13:51):
injuries that they suffered last week. So you really need
someone to step up and fill the shoes of those
two big key players. We'll see a little bit more
of Jack Welch and also number one Brandon Harsha, and
then when you're gonna have in these playoffs, you're gonna
have a lot of close games and for UNIONDA, they
really need to limit the empty possessions and having a
(14:14):
kicker like in Leam Matthew really helps. When you get
inside the thirty, you're inside his range, maybe even a
little bit farther.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
He's a really good kicker. So you really want to
get inside of.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
New Lexington territory and come away with points with Lea
matthewill pick the game defensively, U Nioda.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Like I said, four point seven points per game. Defensively
they're allowing.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
It's a new test for them today to Lexington averaging
thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Points per game.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Offensively, really want to get to going with the run
game with Paul Stinson who is their lead running back
over one thousand yards this year at twenty four touchdowns.
And also Lane Bratliffe is their quarterback, capable runner and
a good thrower as well.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Both teams just came onto the field and we're gonna
be right back with the opening kickoff on the accurate Heating,
Cooling and Plumbing Game of the Week on ninety four
Country WKKJ.

Speaker 20 (16:18):
In March of two thousand and five, financier Jeffrey Epstein
is at a charity benefit in New York City. Wall
Street Titans are in attendance. Rod Stewart is booked to perform.
In a photo taken that night, Epstein has his arm
around a woman, pulling her head toward his so that
his smirking lips grace her temple. Epstein is tan and relaxed,
(16:40):
and he looks like he doesn't have a care in
the world. On that same day, twelve hundred miles south,
a fourteen year old girl in Palm Beach, Florida gives
a statement to the police that will launch an investigation.
But maybe Epstein is right not to be worried.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Nobody cared what these women had to say say. Their
insights were ignored as the Feds and then the state
made this case go away.
Speaker 21 (17:07):
Mister Epstein should have been looking at a potential sentence
of three hundred and sixty years at a minimum, But
that's not what happened because there was a power dynamic here,
wasn't there.
Speaker 20 (17:18):
The recent charges against Jeffrey Epstein have brought down a
cabinet member and tarnished the reputations of billionaires and elite universities.
Speaker 22 (17:26):
Here's a group of people and I got to say,
mostly men who talk a great deal about changing the world,
but are fundamentally functioning as a cartel.
Speaker 12 (17:41):
A very simple question, who is Jeffrey Epstein?
Speaker 23 (17:44):
Who is Jeffrey Epstein?
Speaker 24 (17:45):
Who is in his inner circle?
Speaker 12 (17:46):
The mystery of Jeffrey Epstein's wealth has never been powered.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
He started as.
Speaker 19 (17:50):
An adult and teacher right my teacher at the private.
Speaker 11 (17:52):

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Welcome back to New Lexington High School in Jim Rockwell Stadium.
As we get ready for kickoff, UNIODA will be kicking
off to New Lexington. They'll be going from right to
left on your radio dial. And Unioda is in their
all white uniforms trend with purple and gold striping on
(18:56):
the pants and on the shoulders, with white helmets. And
we have New Lexington the Panthers in orange and black,
all orange pants with an orange uniform with black numerals
outlined in white. Good for us to be able to
see up here in the press box, so hopefully we
(19:17):
do a good job here. But they have nice black
helmets with a like a past still orange on each side.
So Leam Matthey gets ready to kick the ball off.
Leah Matthew has done a great job all year longer
kicking off all the way to the end zone. We'll
see what he does here. He approaches and the kick
is off, it's going to bounce at the eighteen, still bouncing,
(19:40):
still bouncing.
Speaker 15 (19:42):
And and the other was able to get down there
really quick and they were able to tackle the receiver
number that number eighteen, yes, number eighteen for New lex
and that is Tyson Spencer and or a Spicer.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
He almost didn't get to the ball and that could
have been a Unioda turnover right away. But it's gonna
be first ten at the fourteen yard line for New
lex Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
That ball hit at the fifteen yard line and just
bounced straight up and didn't go anywhere else and just
stayed there, and Spicer kind of moved away from it,
didn't want to touch the ball, And so New.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Lexi ten breaks their huddle and they're in the spread offense.
They got one running back next to quarterback lane. Ratliffe
get a little motion from right to left, quick pass
out here to number one. That's Tanner Doll and he
is going to be stopped right around the line of scrimags.
Maybe gets to the fifteen gain of one there, But
(20:37):
a great job of Unyodo quickly getting over there and tackling. Yeah,
great job by the corner. I think that was number eight.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
It's Micah straight Micah Strange's Oh no, he's actually in here.
But I'm curious to see for Unioda all these for
filling in for Jackson Zikafuz here who's out for injury.
We'll get over some of those players here in a second,
as Ratlift now hands off to that is number thirty.
Paul Stenson there over one thousand yard rusher and he's
(21:08):
gonna get all the way up to the twenty two
yard line as he went straight up the middle. Yeah,
new Lexington's offensive line, Like ko Toom said in that interview,
they're really underrated. Did a good job in free and
to hold right there for Stenson.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Third and one, they quickly go to the line of scrimmage.
Ratlift now pauses, looks over to line or sideline. Here
we go, gets ready and the snaw Nope, still looking
at it till trying to get Unioda to jump off
sides here in this third and one. So now he
(21:39):
moves Stenson to the other side of him. Ratlift now
waits a snap, tosses out to Stenson. Stenson gets hit
behind the line the gain. He's going to lose your
yard on that run. And again, great job there by Unyodo.
I believe the first guy there was number twenty one,
Jacob Runner. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Also Cody Brayden came from his linebacker position and Mett
Stinson right there as right with Jacob Brainer.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
For no gain. Now Unio is gonna get the ball,
so we're gonna see the first punt and Braydon Harsha
goes back. As cray had mentioned, Jackson Zikafou's unable to
play tonight. Harsha goes back to receive this punt, and
the punt is going to come down around the fifty
yard line. I want to take a sideways bounce now
it gets a little bit of a new Lexington bounced,
(22:28):
wanting to come down around the forty four yard line.
That's where Uniota will start. There an issue offensive position
bringing out the unioda offensive quarterback junior Isaac Coy Next
to him in the running back will be Cody Braiden.
David Long also in there to lead block for the receivers.
We're going to see a plethora of receivers. Jack Welch, Braydon, Harsha,
(22:53):
and I believe number four Laken Langoff is going to
be out there to start with. Now we get the
stoppage of the clock. They're going to reset the play clock.
Now we got a kind of media down here on
the sidelander trying to get everybody back as Uniota gets
ready to run their first offense in possession again, it's
(23:16):
Isaac Coy in the epistol formation with Cody Brayden next
to him. Here's a snap hand off to Braiden right
up the middle, trying to find some running room. He
does fall forward, he's going to get a game of
one on that's going to bring up a second down
to nine. If you're Union, this is what you want
to do.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
You want to rely on this running game to get
you a few yards and set the tone of this game.
They had a really good drive defensively forcing New Lexa
three and out, So now you know you've really want
this this Union offense to take control of this game, especially.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
On the ground in between the tips and a unit
who's been able to take control of the games. It's
that offensive line, Bryce Jarvis, Glenn Stottridge, Landon Caruth, Dylan Stanley,
and don Zell Nolan. So we've the huddle boy with
Braiden to his right. Now sends Braiden in motion out
to the right. Coy throws out the Braiden in the flats.
(24:09):
Braiden's going off field. He's up the sideline. He's gonna
be run out about right around the forty seven yard
line of New Lexington and that's gonna be about one
yard short of a first down. Brings up a third
and one.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Nice little play design by Unioda motioning Braiden outside of
the backfield just kind of a little swing pass there
could throw by Isaac Boy to get into him fast
and Cody Braiden. Nice little seven yard game there.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Now is third and short your Unyoda, you'd like to
see these types of third downs here, probably looking to
see if we get a little bit of the full
house backfield in there. Number forty five also in there
as a blocker for Unioda Braiden right up the middle,
and he's gonna be met right up the line of scrimmage.
He is not going to make that first down, and
(24:56):
they were waiting for him right there was a host
of New lex and Tim Panthers.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Yeah, that was number seventy five, Eli Stevens if they
were getting the backfield there, look from his nose guard position,
he just it seems like he got around me either
Landing Caruth or Glynn Stottrich there.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
He just blew up that play from the from the beginning.
So they give him a loss of one on that
one brings up a fourth down and two from New
Lexington's forty eight and David Long goes back into punting
formation for Uniodo back deep for New Lexington. I believe
that is number eighteen. Tyson Spicer Long's punt, it's going
(25:36):
to be off to the right hand side, and that
is not going to go. That's probably going to about
a twenty five yard line. Yeah, it looks like it
went just off the side of the twenty nine. Didn't
go very far.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Still, still not a bad field position for Uniota one,
putting New Bucks back in their territory.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
So we'll stay here here with the fourteen to go
in a scoreless game. Now, look at Uniodo defensively, and
again this is where you're going to have to replace
two really good defensive player in Jackson Zikafus and Levi Beam.
Across the front for Unioto, it's Jacob Brenner, De Kwon, James,
Bryce Jarvis, and Luke Howard. The linebackers Judah Zikafus, David Long,
(26:17):
and Cody Brayden. And that defensive backfield two freshmen Lake
and Langolf Braydon Harsh and Jack Winegardner and Micah Strange.
Here is the first down play lane. Ratliffe sends four
receivers out here to the right. They all fall down
for a screen. That's number one. He gets by the
first throws it back to Ratlift and they're gonna say
(26:41):
that was a legal play, and I'm not sure he's
gonna go all the way down the sideline he's going
to get into the end zone for a touchdown. And
that is a seventy one yard touchdown play for new Lexington.
That was from the quarterback lane Ratlift two ten or
(27:01):
tak who then threw it back to the quarterback Tyson
Spencer and he goes down the sideline for a touchdown
of seventy one yards. Yeah, I'm not even sure how
to score that.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
I'd say that is a rushing touchdown by lane Ratlift,
but it was almost a four pass there back to
the quarterbacks, so it was really close. But it looks
like they're gonna give him that touchdown. And really nice
chunk play here by New lex to take.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
An early leave. They're going to go for two. Here
Ratlift awaits the snap, he's back to pass looking for
Toth in the end zone and he overthrows him. That
is incomplete. So with seven fifty six and go here
in the first quarter, your scorer is new Lexington six
(27:46):
and the Uni owners Sherman's nothing. You're listening to the
accurate heating, cooling, and Plumbing Game of the week on

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Welcome back to New Lexington and Jack Rockwell Stadium, our
Jim Rockwell Stadium, New Lexington, getting ready to kick off
and back deep for Uni Yoda. It is Jack Welsh
and Braden Harsha And that ball just basically was a
wet shot over there at the twenty one yard line.
That ball came down and just stop. David Long did
(29:27):
a great job of falling on that. That's where you
need it. Will take possession.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah, that's the second time in a row now with
with the kicking game, So that's gonna be a factor
going forward. If Unida you just gave up that long
touchdown play one of the gadget plays that New Lexton
has in their playbook.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
You don't want to get all of it back in once.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
You just kind of keep grinding, grinding out this ground
game and you know, hand it off to Cody Braiden,
or even get it all out to him on swing
pass like they did on the first drive.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
All Right, so Uniodo breaks the huddle. You have two
receivers out here to the left, one to the right,
and it looks like Coy and Braiden in the backfield.
Braiden now going to motion to the left, Coy looking downfield,
finds Jack Welch and he catches it at the thirty
two yard line. So he just simply ran a right
(30:15):
down the middle of the field. They're gonna give him
a first down and give him a game eleven.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Good throw by Isaac Coy and a great catch by
Jack Welch. We've took a little bit of a hit there,
so uh yeah, it's gonna give him eleven yards first
down for the Sheerman.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
He ran straight down the field and basically just found
the opening there in the zone and Coy hit him.
And again they ran Braiden out in motion there like
they did last time when they threw to him, and
a lot of guys sort of went up at him
and abling to have that opening. So you got one
receiver now to the left or two to the left,
(30:48):
two to the right, no one in the backfield with Koy.
Koy now fake handed off the Braiden. Coy keeps it
up the middle. He's spinning, He's going he's gonna get
up a game up about one on that play, brings
up a second.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Yeah, they sent Brandon there in that jet sweet motion
and faked a handoff to him and Isaac Koy kept
it up the middle. Just a couple of things that
you knew that could do to not let New Lex
can cheat these plays and be able to get Cody
Brighton in the backfield. And again for new Lex number
seventy five, Eli Stevens, he's gonna be a problem here tonight.
He's lined up over the center every time and he is.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
He's made himself known. He's in the backfield. That boy,
yeah there, we'll call him outside linebackers number five and
number seventy two, Paul Neely and Tyrell King do a
really good job of being active on the corners for
new Lex, Koy throws out the harsha and it basically
let him too far out there, and that's going to
be incomplete bringing up along third or nine or from
(31:44):
their own thirty two yard line.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Looks like he had harsha open, but just cooy a
little bit too before and for a little bit too
high as well.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
This has been down and distance. If you don't want
to be in for Union had a third and ten
obvious passing down.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
We'll just see where they're going. Especially with Jackson zickcus out.
We said, uh, they're gonna have to find a new
option here.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, and again Levi Beam he was really good at
coming around on an end and round and things like that.
You see Blake and Langolf in there. Uh and also
Braydon Harsha for those two individuals. So Coy with Braden
in the backfield, gets a snap looking downfield, he's rolling
to his left and he's going to be brought down.
And that is number five to Rell King, who leads
(32:26):
New Lexington in sacks this year. He gets another one. Yeah,
just a good job throw. King came off that left
edge and as Coy was rolling to his right just
was to his left, was just unable to get away
from a really good job right there about New lex
So clock running right at the six minute mark, New
Lexington leads six nothing and David Loan now goes back
(32:48):
into punk formation and back deep for uh New Lexington
is Tyson Spicer. Loan gets a kickoff at the nineteen
good kick this time bounces after thirty five. Spicer comes
up and gets it and he has met right there
(33:09):
and it will be a host of Uniodas Shermans. That
brings him down right around the thirty two yard line
of New Lexington. That's where they will take over.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Really good punk coverage by Unioda right there, just the
let Spie not let Spicer go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
They've done a really good job.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
On the kickoffs too, where they've only had one kickoff,
but whether Jovini kin we.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Saw the ball just kind of die once they hit
that turn, So we'll see how that plays going for
definitely like one of my web shots. So as we
get Ridy here, first to ten for New Lexington at
their own thirty two yard line again spread formation with
one running back next to Ratlift in the backfield. That
is Stenson rat Lift hands off. No, he keeps it.
(33:53):
He's looking downfield. He's got a man that Spicer. Great
job at the last minute by Braiden Harsha who was
able to dive and reach out and knock that ball away. Yeah,
Harsha just saved the touchdown right there he was. It
looks like it was a Spicer number eighteen got behind
him just a little bit.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Really good job by Braiden Marsha with that closing speed
with the ball in the air dove out and took
that away from Spicer.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Yeah, he showed that athleticism in the quickness, So great
job there by Braiden Harsha new lexingon quickly back to
the line of scrimmage. Ratliff gets it, hands off to Stenson.
Stenson up the middle, makes the first guy missing. He
gets downfield to the forty yard line. Going to be
short of the first down, but that's going to bring
up a third down into for new Lexington. Like you said,
(34:43):
it looked like what was in the back of the
Bryce Travis got him in the backfield, but Stinson was
able to get away for eight more yards after that,
and I was gonna be third short. He Lexi git
back to the line of Striman's ratlift try to go
on a quick snap now looking to the sideline, third
and two with five minutes to go here in the
(35:05):
first quarter. First quarter has brought to you by home
loans by Jen ratlift Stenson right up the middle. He's
going to be very close to that first down to game,
and I believe they're going to give it to them,
so they're going to give him a gain of at
least two right to that first down. Marker the farm
judges making it a first down signal, and it will
(35:26):
be first and ten for New Lexington at their own
forty two yard lines. Quickly to the line of scrimmage,
no one in the backfield, with ratlift, quick throw out there.
I believe that Spicer he makes one guy miss. He's
going to get up the sideline and gets up probably
a gain of about ten maybe enough for another first
down as they're into uniodo territory. Yeah, just a quick
(35:49):
little bubble screen.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
That was actually number three Eli Dixon is another wide
receiver for New lex has ten receptions on the year.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
One touch him quickly, ratlift again, rose short and again
that is number three Eli Dixon. This time he's met
right at the line of scrimmage. No game brings up
a second down and ten.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
That was Bryce Jarvis from his defensive tackle position.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Read that that that was a bubble.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Screen, got out there, was able to tackle the wide
receiver really faster and no Game.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
So New Lexington taking their time here a little bit.
They're gonna have two receivers to the right, two to
the left, No one in the backfield. You have us
h H back up there. You got motion by Terrell King,
rat left keeps it. We're gonna get a flag on
the play. However, I believe that's gonna be a legal
(36:38):
formation for not enough guys on the line of scrimmage.
I believe.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Yeah, the outside wide receiver is supposed to be lined
up on the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
He was lined up in the backfield. So yeah, that's
gonna bring New Lexington back five yards. So that bring
up a second down in fifteen four year from the
forty eight yard line of New Lexington, three fifty seven
to go here in the first quarter, a quarter where
New Lexington leads six to nothing. So New Lexington their
(37:11):
offensive line really spread out here to a lot of
big gaps in there. Ratlift awaits a snap, looking over
the sideline, once again getting a quick play call from
their head coach. Everybody sees a sign and here we go.
Ratlift gets King in motion, looks like he's gonna throw
(37:33):
out to him, but again tries again on a slant
number eighteen Spicer and once again Braiden Harsha is there.
Speaker 14 (37:42):
There.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
It is Braiden Harsha.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
That was a really good throw by Leene Ratliffe, and
Harsha again really good job is staying connected with Spicer
and breaking up that pass.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
So third down in fifteen for New Lexington. Three twenty
six to go. Here in the first quarter in the
backfield with Bratliffe re receivers to the left, one to
the rights, coach signals into a quick play. The motion
(38:13):
to the right hand side is number one Tugh toss
out here to King. King's gonna be mist behind the line.
Permick by the uniodo servans that is number twenty two
Luke Howard and number twenty Cody Brayden brings him down
with a two yard loss. So now that brings up
(38:33):
a fourth down and seventeen from the forty six yard
line of New Lexington, and I believe that is number
thirty six goes back to punt for New Lexington. Don't
wait and back deep is Braden Harshitt at his own
fifteen yard line snap kick. That's going to be a
(38:53):
short bouncer harsha, oh nice bounce up to him. He
picks it up, He's taken off, makes one guy miss.
He's on the sideline far side. He's gonna be thrown
out of bounce. I'm surprised they didn't throw a flag there.
He was quite a bit out of bounce before he
was tossed. Yeah, it was really buzzed.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Must just be incidental contact that the rest are going
to say it was there. But good job by Harsha
picking that ball up off the turf and getting about
a fifteen yard game, So that's.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Going to give them the ball up their own thirty
eight yard line. Here for Uni Yoto with two forty
two to.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Go in the first quarter, and I noticed there it
looked like number thirty Paul Stenson.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
For New Lexi.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
He's back out on the field, but he was out
of the out of the lineup there for a little bit.
I don't know if it was just down the distance
or if he was getting taped up there. It did
look like someone was on the ground of the sidelines
of the New Legs.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
All right, tight formation. Here for Uniota, Cody braiding in
the backfield with Isaac Coy. Coy gets a nap. He's
gonna follow Braiden around the left hand side, but he's
going to be brought down after a lost love two
and I was brought down by by stints in there,
so he seems to be all right. If he was
injured or on the planet. So again Stenson was able
(40:08):
to break through there. He had blockers in front of him,
did Isai Cory, but again Stanson able to get through
there and bringing down behind the line of scrimmage brings
up a second down to twelve. We'll see if you
knew it.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
It goes back to that screen pasket with Cody braiding
outside the tackles.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
We're gonna stop it here. We're gonna be time out
Nioto here and we'll take a time out with them.
You're listening to the accurate heating, cooling, and plumbing gave

Speaker 14 (41:35):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Back at New Lexington, isaaccoy Texas Snap. We're going to
get a stoppage here. We're gonna get probably a false
start on you and Yoda coming out of that time
out oh thor the off man, and that's going to
back them up another five yards, bring up a second
down and seventeen here for Unio coming out of that today,
I'm out.
Speaker 5 (42:02):
That's not what you want to see.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Yeah, And if you know, you don't want to force
it down the field here and throw it into traffic.
So it's second and seventeen. Uh, you still just you know,
still want to be patient. And uh, you know, I
don't want to get a little bit too cute or
a little bit too greedy.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Here looks like we're going to get the uh game
clock reset. Surprised that the referees don't have the microphone
that we normally see for them to talk to the
press box. But six two o seven to go. Here
(42:37):
in the first quarter, Unio too breaks the huddle koy
with Brayden next or that's David Long next to him,
coy bake hand off looking downfield. Now he's scrambled into
his left looking downfield, he's got Lincoln landolf and that's
going to be knocked away by number two and he's
going to get a flag on him or new Lexington.
(43:01):
You cannot give that signal to the opposing team sideline,
and he just sort of gave the incomplete signal, and
that's going to get a flag.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Yes time, that's a big play because it was gonna
be third and seventeen if he didn't do that.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
So now it's gonna give Unioda a new set of
downs close to midfield here in n coom Number two
that was Mason Ryder is gonna be taken out of
the lineup. Board new Lexington. So two minutes to go,
that's gonna be fifteen yards. I don't know if that's
an automatic first down. I believe it is, but nope,
it is not. It's gonna stay third down. So third
(43:39):
down now in a manageable three yards to go. I
thought that was a first down automatically. I guess not.
Speaker 28 (43:48):
So.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Uniodo breaks the huddle, empty backfield. Three receivers to the right,
two to the left. Isaac Corey back to pass, looking downfield.
He's got a man and he just throw it over
the outstretched arms of Bradon Narsia. That's gonna be incomplete pass.
(44:11):
He had him open, but he just led him too much.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Yeah, just a little bit. Horse is gonna want a
holding penalty there. But he almost got that ball. He
might have got his hands on it. But New Lex
is doing a really good job defensively pre snap movement.
I think he's kind of thrown off Coy a little
bit and even their offensive line because New lex is
not coming from where they're showing initially.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
So another punting situation for you Andiodo is David Long
goes back and Spicer is back for new Lexington. Long
gets a snap, he's gonna kick it from the thirty
five lobbily punt. Spicer gets it at his twenty five.
He goes right up the middle and he's gonna be
brought down at the thirty seven yard line. So gain
(44:54):
him twelve on that return by Spicer. That'll bring up
a for New Lexington. Spicer is their leading receiver on
the year and again does a really good job with
their return game as well.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Yeah, we've seen most of the times that rat lift
has dropped past the past dropped back to pass.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
He has been targeting Spicer and a few un yoda you.
Speaker 2 (45:20):
Aside from that seventy one yard play, they've really played
their uh played really well here on defense.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
So let's see if they continue that momentum and get
the ball back to their offense. So right lift in
the backfield with Stenson, fake hand off the stents and
he's back to pass. He's got a wide open man
out in the flat. I believe that is number one
and he's going to be taken out a bounce at
U n Yodo's forty yard line. Number one. That's Tanner
Totin first down New Lexington at the forty yard line
(45:50):
of unioda nice little plays designed by new Lexington.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Look like Toast was lined up in the backfield, had
a little bit of a motion out there to the flat.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
He was just wide open. Ratlift awaits a snap again,
really quick to the line of scrimmages New Lexington sometimes
they go. Sometimes they look to the sideline. They're looking
to the sideline. Rat lift now brings a guy in motion.
That's Spicer. Ratlift back to pass. He's looking downfield now
he's taken off right up the middle. He's going to
(46:18):
get all the way down to the thirty two yard line.
He lost the ball, but he lost it as he
hit the ground, so that it's not going to be
a fun ball and that is going to be looks
like you're going to mark him at the thirty three
yard line, bring up a second down and three you need.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
Did a really good job on the back end there
with the coverage. They've done a really good job, especially
with Harsha there in the back in the at the
safety slash corner spot. Just rightlift that made a good
play and was able to get eight yards scrambled yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Right lift five and ninety one yards on the year rushing.
He takes off again coming around the right hand side.
He's going to get the first down. As he gets
all the way down to the thirty one or the
twenty six yard line, that'll be a fent for new Lexington.
New lex was forcing everything right there.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
I gotta give him a lot of credit right there
in new Lexington up Their offensive line did a really
good job of moving everybody away.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
And not getting a hold and go away. So nobody
in the backfield with Ratliff here. Three receivers out to
the left, two to the rights, really spread across the
offensive line. Ratliff gets a snap, he looks back looking downfield.
I believe that Spicer down the middle and he's got
it for a new Lexington touchdown. And there is a
(47:35):
flag on the play. Looks going to be a sideline warning.
So that is going to be a twenty six yard
touchdown pass from Ratliff to Spicer for new Lexington. Are
as we are getting towards the end of the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Yeah, it looks like Spicer kind of ran the same
route he's been running this whole time. I'm a post
from that slop position on the left side, and that
time he had a little bit more space over the
field and Ratlift made a really nice play towards the
goalpost and Spider came down.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
With it for the touchdown. So New Lexington is going
to go for two here, Ratlift and King in the backfield.
King now goes in motion and Stenson now goes into
the backfield. Now we have more emotion going to the left.
Spike or Ratlift throwing back now to the right. It
(48:30):
is going to be caught by number one, but a
flag down and I think that's going to be too
many people moving. Yeah, not everyone was able to come
set there. I think on that motion one of the
wide receivers moved just a little bit too fast. Nice
play design of the throwback, which they converted, but they're
going to have to retry here a few yards back.
As coach Hoops was talking to me earlier in the week,
(48:52):
he said, they really like to spread you out, and
they do. They spread you out quite a bit, and
then they are throwing it all over the place. Short passes,
long passer. It seems to be down the field. They're
looking definitely for Spicer right down the middle of the field,
but again they use all parts of the field. Now
(49:14):
we've got to stopping to play, and now we're gonna
go again. So now the two point conversion attempt is
going to be from the eight yard line, right lift,
the only one in the backfield. Everyone else spread from
side to side, right lift, with the ball looking downfield,
(49:34):
right down the round. The corner overthrows a receiver, and
that two point attempt is now no good and your
score with twenty eight seconds go here in the first
quarter is now for corner new Lexington twelve in Uniodo nothing, Trey.
I think this is very imperative for Unioda to get
(49:55):
something out of this drive starting right now.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
Yeah, just not much going for you and Yoda offensively,
and they've tried to run the ball up the middle,
but new lex has done a really good job of
just not giving them any space to go. So you
and Yoda they're gonna try and get their their best
player at the code back of the year in the SBC, Cody.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
Braiden, get him touches, get him the ball.
Speaker 2 (50:17):
They had success with a swing pass earlier with Cody
Braiden and he was able to take her about an
eight yard game, so kind of look to see with
that how they can.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Get it going, but you know it's a tough test
done damage outside the pocket whenever it collapses and is
able to run. So they're gonna market at the forty
two yard or forty three yard line of New Lexington. Bratliffe,
(50:46):
Fay came off the Stenson. He's rolling out here to
his left looking downfield. He's gonna keep it. He's gonna
be brought down at the thirty seven yard line or
forty seven yard line by Jacob Brenner and that's number
twenty Cody Brayden.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
And also David Long was the first one on there,
but it looked like Ratliffe broke the tackle off him,
but you know Long did a good job of sloan
him down a little bit. Second and six six oh
five to go here in the second quarter, Ratliffe await
to snap hands off to Stenson right up the middle.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
He's got an opening. He gets into Uniota territory at
the forty six yard line, and that's gonna be a
first down New Lexington and they're going to go quick
right to the line of scrimmage as they got new
or Unioda on their heels. So again big break there
for Unyoda to get that touchdown on that punt snap
(51:43):
and new Lexington now on the run. Here's Stenson again
right up the middle. He's pushing and that's Jacob Brenner
who's going to stop him at around the forty three
yard line. So we'll give him again of three there
brings up a second down and seven.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
Yeah, also number I believe that's a Javon Smith is
doing a really good job. He's not eleven twenty two.
That's a Luke Howard doing a really good job of
getting in the backfield. It's just with all of Lane
Ratliff getting outside in running uh, these Reid options that
they're running, they're they're leaving Stintson open a little bit.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
He's got supposed to run. So New Lexington for second
and seven, ratt left hands off, is sensing right up
the middle. He gets at least two yards before he stopped.
We're gonna mark him at the thirty nine yard line.
Brings up the third and three. New Lexington's offensive line
did a really good job of opening up a hole
(52:41):
right there for Stintson. He got four yards without being punched.
But Unioda did a really good job of gang tackling
and not let him get any farther past that force.
Now it's a big down, third short, third and three
from Uniodo's thirty nine. If you're U Niyoda, you definitely
want to keep him out of the end one here,
do not let them get a scart rat top and
(53:05):
Ratlift runs around the left hand side. He's going to
get the first down. He gains four, and he runs
out of bounce at the thirty four yard line.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
And I probably could have been bad because new Lexington
has four receivers on the right side of the field,
which naturally caused all of you Nyoda's defenders to go
on the right side of the field and right Lift
took off on the left side, and if he didn't
get past along there or get thrown out of bounce,
he might have been Indian zone.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
So first and ten four, new Lexington leading nineteen to seven.
Here in the second quarter, for twenty three to go,
Ratlift will wait to snap. He brings Stenson in motion.
He's the only one in the backfield. He's got to
snap now he breaks containment. He's going upfield. He's down
to the twenty big hit there by Cody Brayden, but
he falls forward down to the eighteen yard line, where
(53:56):
it'll be first and ten New Lexington in Uni Yodo,
deep in Unioda territory inside the twenty.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Yeah, all this is just Ratleff creating for himself and
he'sib would get space because that offensive line is really
doing a good job against Unio as defensive line and
they're hanging on the block their blocks, and uh you know,
Ratlet's just making plays right now.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
And that offensive line has at least three foot four
foot splits in between them. They're gonna get a motion
penalty on New Lexington and Nato back them up five
now with three fifty two to go here in the
first half. And again, if you're Unioda, you gotta get
a stop here.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Yeah, you really want to, you know, getting down to
less than four minutes here in the second quarter.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
You want to get a stop here.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
I know it's a new set of downs and they're
getting close, but you did get a penalty there and
now you're gonna back them up a little bit more.
So you just gotta you gotta stay true on defense
and not get your eyes looking where it shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
Be looking to all the fakes of new Bles. So
New Lexington. Ratlift now hands off the spicer who came
in motion. But I believe that's going to be a
legal procedure. Two guys in motion, four New Lexington.
Speaker 2 (55:14):
Yeah, it's the running backs just leaving a little bit
early as the plays in motion, so he cannot move
at all.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
And uh, you know this is what you need for Uniota.
Have these back to back penalties really killing them momentum
that new Lexington got getting down on this drive, so
you really going to make a couple of big plays
come up here. So he brings up now a first
and twenty from the twenty eight yards line clock running
(55:46):
three twenty to go here in the second quarter, ratlift
back to pass trying to throw back and that's going
to be overthrown to number one Toad so that he's
incomplete that that's going to stop the buck and bring
up a second down and twenty with three twelve to
go here in the first half. Yeah, and that was
(56:07):
landing Caruth.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
That made a really good job from his really good
play from his defensive tackle position as a new Lexington's
offensive line got out.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
There to cover that screen pass.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
He was unblocked and got to the quarterback really fast
and forced that air and throw.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
So we had a little huddled by new Lexington. There
something we didn't see very much up a rattle up
in the backfield, motion out to the right, quick handoff
here to number twenty, and he's going to be a
stomped by Jacob Brennan and then a host of Niodas
Sherman come into stomp him. And I guess put Matthias
(56:45):
on that handoff and that'll bring up a third down.
We'll give him a gain of looks like maybe four
on that play. No game of one bring a third
down to nineteen. Yeah, this is a big play for Union.
Speaker 2 (56:59):
New Lexington is in field goal range most likely, and
you know they're maybe not even in like punting range,
so this may be.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Two down territory line. So it is nineteen yards to
get the first down, two forty two to go. Ratlift
the only one in the backfield. He goes back to
the pass he's coming up. He finds a guy downfield,
but that is going to be in couplet as the
ball hit the ground to officials saw that one. So
again a little shortened there de Spicer, I believe with
(57:27):
the intended target. So that's going to bring up a
fourth down to nineteen. That's gonna be from the twenty
eight yard line, So definitely, I imagine new Lexington's going
to try to go for this. But again they've got
to get it all the way down to the that
the eleven yard line for the first down. Yeah, I
(57:47):
mean it's fourth and nineteen.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
You're like, I definitely need to punt it or something,
but they're in that spot where they can't really punt
it and they.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
Don't have a field goal range. Actually, they got to
get inside the tenth So now I got fourth down
at nineteen. Ratt lift in the backfield with mclias. We're
going to get a time out here by new Leck
third second of the first path. We'll take it quick,
Greg if we can accurate hitting and pulling and plumbing.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
Back at New Lexington High School where we have a
big four down at ten by New Lexington or nineteen
rat left away to snap, We get motioned by Spicer,
he wraps around, the quarterback gets back the other way.
We got a toss to Spicer and he's then going
to toss to the end zone and that is going
(59:48):
to be a touchdown by dude Lexington. So again of
their touchdown. So far three up, one by an energy
interception and now two by tass back and that is
a twenty eight yard touchdown pass from Spicer too. Did
you get who that was?
Speaker 24 (01:00:08):
It was?
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
I think number one Tanner off but okay, I could
be mistaken there.
Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
So again that was from Spicer to toe for the
touchdown for New Lexington. And oh that was a back
burger for Unioto as he got behind the receiver or
the defensive back tried to make up the room, but
he put the extra point attempt is up and good
for New Lexington. Now that takes the score to twenty
(01:00:38):
six to seven. We'll take a quick break. You're listening

Speaker 14 (01:01:47):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
So back at New Lexington with a score. Now is
New Lexington Panthers twenty six to seven over U Niodo.
We're gonna get now the kickoff and number three Eli
Dixon to kickoff for New Lexington. He kicks it down
to the twenty five yard line where David Long gets it.
He's up to the thirty five, up to the forty
and he made a guy pay for that tackle. And
(01:02:16):
that is where Unioda will take over forty yard line
off U Nyodo and you've got two timeouts straight, two
sixteen to go, and you got a decent field goal kicker.
So let's see if we can't get down and get
some points before halftime, and then again we get the
ball coming out second half being Uni Yodo.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
Yeah, and with it being a nineteen point game, a
field goal does make a big difference.
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
It changes it to a two possession game. So Unyoda
does have chance, their chance to take back this momentum,
get some points before going into halftime and then getting
the ball here to start the third quarter. All right,
Coy with Braiden right behind him, harsh in motion, hand
off the Braiden right up the middle of the field.
He's gonna get up to the forty four and it
looks like we're gonna get a face mask had.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Another fifteen yards on there, actually gonna be targeting I
they he had. He was kind of defenseless as he
was falling there and new Lexington led with their helmet
hit him right on the helmet.
Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Either way, that's gonna be an additional fifteen yards. That's
gonna be a first down. That's gonna take them all
the way down inside the forty yard line of New Lexington.
So then one play tray they're almost getting in the
field goal position. Yeah, and I know Koch Hoops is
looking for that touchdown, but now he's in range for
Leam Mathews. So Unioda's you know, they got a really
(01:03:33):
good chance to get boys here in the second half,
so they take it to the forty one yard line,
not inside, but to the forty one of New Lexington
as Unioda breaks the hut o'clock. Now under two minutes
to go. Here in the second quarter, Isaac Coy in
the backfield with Braden right behind him. Snap. Coy now
looks downfield a little hitching go for Jack Welch and
(01:03:55):
he hates the catch. What a catch? Keifan has caught
a bouncing might have con both foot and bounce, and
that's gonna be inside the twenty. Nice throw and catch
by Jack Welch on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Yeah, when h Isaac Cooy threw that balls like there's
no way he's almost double covered, but he threw kind
of a back shoulder throw and Jack Welch's did a
really good job of tiptoeing on that sideline. I think
he got both feet in just a really good catch,
nice athletic play by Jack Welch.
Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
And again he was so calm about it too. He
just sort of waited on the ball to get there
and he caught it both hands. So inside the twenty.
Now at the eighteen is Uniot to hand off the
braiding up the middle again you Knodo still has two timeouts.
Braydon gets to the fifteen yard line as we're going
at one thirty seven and running.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Yeah, like you said, you knew a halftime out, so
they can still run the ball if they want to.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
But now the clock running a minute thirty here to
go in the first half. So Coy gets to the
huddle one twenty in running now Isaac Cooy receives out
to the left, one to the right. Braiden in the
backfield motion now by Harsha Ye new Lex jumped off
(01:05:12):
sides and look right there they jumped out of emotion
from Harsha expected again to get the handoff, but Unioda
never snapped the ball. Just a nice little play. So
again that's an additional five yards that's going to take
it down to the ten yard line and that'll bring
up a second and two. Now again two time outs
for Uni Oda o' clock had stopped him one. It
(01:05:33):
was six to go here in the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
I Thinkoda, you're second and short here at the tent.
Just run the ball, get this first down.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
You can stop the clock if you want, but then
you can take some shots at the inside. So Coy,
with Braiden right behind him in the pistol formation, turns,
tosses out the Braiden Braydon are looking for a gap,
can't really find one. He's gonna fall forward and get
right to the ten yard line again. So again short
of the first down. Still gonna be third down now
and two, and we're gonna get a time out here
(01:06:04):
by Uniodo.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Yeah, they're gonna stop the clock here with fifty four
seconds left. You knew, I really think you just kept
running the ball down the middle. You were getting three
to four yards of chunk runs there. That way you
could have got that first down. It would have reset
the downs. So now you got third and short.
Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
So if you have an incomplete pass or you don't
get the first down, you've kind of forced yourself.
Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
Into a field goal attempt. So we'll see what you
need to draws up here and what they decided.
Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
So you could be in two down territory or else
looking for a field goal knowing that you're gonna get
the ball to come out the second half. But again
you don't want to leave too much time on the
clock for New Lexington because you know this first half
they scored three touchdown on either trickery or an interception return.
So again, sorry for some of the technical difficulties we
(01:06:53):
are having. We have something going on back to the station,
but Sydney is doing her oneonderful job of basically going
through all the different barriers that are being thrown up
for us and getting us back on. We'll do a
quick recap of halftime on some of the stuff we
missed and what we're definitely going to track down number
forty five's name for Uniodo and get that on there
(01:07:16):
as well. So here we go, third and two. Uniyoto
no one in the backfield now, Coy looking downfield. Now
he scrambles to the right. He's got a harshaw and
that's going to be knocked loose by number eighteen Spicer
and Harsha took a hard He's now getting up, but boy,
that was a hard hit right at the end. So
(01:07:37):
here you go trade fourth and two from the just
inside the ten yard line. Do you get the three
points or you try to get that seven And you know, with.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
The clock stopped and you've got a time out, you
can try and draw them off sides again like you
did without running to play and maybe getting a free
first down. But Unyoda is you know, it looks like
they're gonna go for it here, but uh, you know
this is this is a big down in distance here
for uh for Enioda.
Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
So Coy went Bradon next to him. Coy keeps it.
He's going up the middle. He's gonna get the first down.
It looks like initiale and they're still pushing forward down
to about the six yard line, and that's where the
official looks like he's coming in. It is going to
be a first down. So again Coy did a lot
of faking and he just kept it himself to get
(01:08:25):
that first down right around the six yard line. So
getting clock stopped with thirty eight seconds to go, Uni
Yoda still has one time out, but the clock is
stopped and there was a penalty. Oh I didn't see
the flag on the far end over there.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Yeah, it's gonna be a legal motion. I think two
guys were in motion. They had harshly going across on
a on a Jets sweep and I think someone else
might have moved.
Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
So yeah, that's a that's a tough break for UNI.
Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
And now it's gonna be fourth and seven and it
looks like they're gonna keep the offense out there, go
for it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
So fourth and seven. Now the balls at the sixteen
yard line, they need to get into around the seven
yard line. What is the clock is running? So the
clock now moving under thirty seconds to go.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
I think they're gonna have to reset the clock because
he is running before the ref made the call to
run the clock, So they're gonna put more time back on.
I'd say they're gonna have add at least ten seconds.
Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
So again, as the coaches are conversing here, or I'm
sorry the referees are conversing, I don't see any clock
time being added to the clock. Or maybe they're telling
them right now they're going over to talk to the
new Lexington coach and they are going to put some
more time, So they're going to reset the play clock
(01:09:54):
and also reset the game clock.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
This is where they need that microphone to be able
to talk. They're they're using hand signals to put it
up to the.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
Thirty eight seconds. There you go, dre eleven seconds at it.
So here we go fourth and seven for Uniodo boy
rolling out to his right looking downfield. He's got a
receiver and that's going to be incomplete. I believe that
(01:10:24):
receiver was Jack Welts. Shoot tried to come up with that,
and that was an incomplete turnover on down that the
sixteen yard line. That's a big opportunity missed there for Uniyoda,
it really is.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
And uh, you know, I couldn't really tell on that
catch attempt, but that was just that was a tough
life for them to complete right there. So now New
Lex's gonna have the ball with twenty six seconds left
and one time out. Wouldn't expect them to do a lot,
but they've shown their willingness.
Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
To run their trick plays.
Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
So if they if they try and run something like that,
I'll see if Yoda can make a a big playoff defense.
Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
All right, So they come out with their spread offense,
Ratliff almost fumbles a snap, stands a Stenson right up
the middle, of the field and he's going to be
tackled at the twenty two yard line and the clock
now running with sixteen seconds to go. New Lexington quickly
the line of scrimmage, you're going to try to get
another playoff here now down to ten and it looks
(01:11:24):
like they're just going to wait. I think they might
just go in at halftime, and they are. That's going
to be the end of the first half here at
New Lexington High School. Where your score is the New
Lexington Panther twenty six in the Unioda Sherman's seven. You're
listening to the accurate heating, pulling and plumbing game of

Speaker 41 (01:14:35):
It's week three for the football playoffs and we're glad
to have you with us here on iHeartRadio. My name
is Todd Walker. It's time to get into the halftime huddle.
Now time now to hear more from Bryan Cotrulios, the
president of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association. Coming up,
we're going to talk about flag football, but coach, I'm
going to start talking eight man football. There is now
(01:14:57):
a championship in Ohio sponsored by the Football Coaches Association.
Speaker 5 (01:15:02):
Take me through that.
Speaker 28 (01:15:03):
Yeah, again, we know this is something that we felt
needed to be recognized and you know, given some sort
of of reward at the end of the season. And
we we have several teams now it's starting to grow
a little bit something that we wanted to support. It's
still football, you know, it's still you know, high high
(01:15:24):
high schools. It's still you know, high high school coaches
and kids that that are involved in this and I
went to it last year. I know several guys who
are are coaching and involved in eight man. You know,
it's it's still the same They still have the band,
the cheerleaders, it's still that same excitement on Friday nights
for those kids. And man, if we can give anybody that,
(01:15:48):
you know, I think we need to go all out
and support it. My personal opinion, I wish more would
do it. I think, you know, there's a stigma of
oh my gosh, if we're if we don't play eleven man.
But again, you look at some of the you look
at some of the lopsided scores and some of the
programs with twenty or fewer kids, and I wish they
(01:16:09):
would go do it. And and I think, you know,
the the competitiveness and the excitement that it would have
for their kids would would be would be awesome. Again,
I've watched it. I've I saw the you know, that
excitement on those kids, and you know, the competitiveness that
comes out. And again I think I think it's trending
(01:16:31):
in the right direction. And I'd much rather see schools
go to something like that than than just shut down
their programs.
Speaker 5 (01:16:39):
Yeah, that's a great point.
Speaker 41 (01:16:40):
Coach Brian Controlio from Hope Well Owed and with US
here on the program also the president of the High
School Football Coaches Association here in Ohio. Now, the subject
of flag football, this is really being pushed from the
highest level of football. The NFL has put a lot
of promotional activity behind it. And from what I hear
are the participants. So at the girls at the high
(01:17:02):
school level, the majority of them, it's not cannibalizing other
girls' sports. These are girls that are new to playing
organized sports in high school.
Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
So that sounds all good. Coach, Yeah.
Speaker 28 (01:17:15):
And the Browns and the Bengals in Ohio, like you said,
you know, the NFL is putting a ton of money
into this. You know, I mentioned earlier it's it's going
to be an Olympic sport, and as you know, you know,
the the National Pride or the last thing we want
is to go to the Olympics in a sport that
we've essentially invented and and and not dominate. So you know,
(01:17:38):
the the NFL is is definitely invested in this, and
you know, I think it's starting to spread. You know,
it really started in the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas and
it is starting to spread around the state. And some
of the people we talked to they you know, they
work their practices and they do a lot of stuff
on games and stuff on Sundays. Again trying to not
(01:18:02):
take away from those other sports, you know, trying to
keep the girls that want to be in tracked and
in the costs and some of the other things throughout
the state, you know that that are out there, and
but but still giving kids an opportunity to to compete
in and flight football as well.
Speaker 41 (01:18:19):
Coach, let's talk about some of the other programs the
Coaches Association is involved with most notably, I think people
around the state see these activities at their school a lot.
Operation Buck Eye Guard. Talk about this relationship with the
Coaches Association and the National Guard here in Ohio.
Speaker 28 (01:18:37):
No, No, the National Guard has been a huge supporter
of our association, you know, both both financially and with
these types of programs. You come down to our clinic,
you know, they they are there, they have a presence,
they are they are involved and in our in our clinic,
they do stuff with us at our All Star game.
I mean, yeah, there it's and again it's it's you know,
(01:18:59):
I think when you think of of good hard anders
high school football players and and and the kids who
decide to go into the military and and pursue those
types of careers. You know, there's a connection there, and
you know, I think it's a great relationship. We we
really help each other out. You know, we publicize what
they do, and they do a great job of supporting
(01:19:21):
our program or our association as well.
Speaker 41 (01:19:24):
And of course other things you guys do. The scholarship program,
I imagine has got to be one of the biggest
things you do. Give us an idea of the scope
and breadth of your scholarship program.
Speaker 28 (01:19:35):
No, it's it's huge. And again, this is why we
we do. You know, all these all these little things
that that we do, and and the sponsorships and the
you know, the amount of money that that we've given
out you know, I think it was from Coluse forty
some thousand last year. And you know, when when we're
talking about, you know, what what can we do to
(01:19:56):
make our clinic better? You know, what can we do
to cut our costs at at the are there all
star games and you know the seven on seven? What
can we do to make this now? The bottom line
is whatever we have is going to the scholarship program,
and and that's that's the end goal. You know, we
want to give back or we're we're an association that
is for the high schools and for the football players
(01:20:18):
in the state of Ohio, and you know, we whatever
we can generate, and we want to be able to
give back to to the kids that allow it to happen.
Speaker 41 (01:20:27):
Well, part of that, coach you mentioned the All Star Classics,
the North South All Star Classic. Give us the details
on the next North South All Star Classic and how
people can attend their health.
Speaker 28 (01:20:40):
Yeah, so the longest running All Star game in the country.
You know, it's one of one thing that we take
great pride in and there's you know, just have you
know the exact number. There's maybe only one or two
Super Bowls that didn't have a representative that played in
the North Side out in Ohio. You know, we have
(01:21:02):
a really large number of of alumni that they have
gone on to Division one schools and and then and
into the NFL. So again, and it's also then gives
some guys one last chance to play. So we we
do it at the end of April. You know, we'll
we'll be collecting nominations and and putting together teams here
(01:21:27):
once those season's over. In into into early twenty twenty
six and putting together another great show. And we went
to two games, which allows kids in in Division five, six,
and seven an opportunity to to compete in this game.
And when when for a long time it was only
one and a lot of small school kids weren't born included.
(01:21:50):
And you know, I think going to two has been
a great thing, giving maybe the kids that aren't the
Division one athletes but are but have had outstanding careers
a chance to compete one more time.
Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
Coach, where do you play those games?
Speaker 28 (01:22:05):
Those are Masslin that we play, Paul Brown Stadium.
Speaker 41 (01:22:08):
The Ohio High School Football Coaches Association, they do a
lot of great things. We thank President Brian Coutrulio for
joining us on the program. Here tonight, we'll hit a

Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
Welcome back to New Lexington High School, where your score
is the New Lexington Panthers twenty six. In the Uniota
Shermans seven games around the area, Wheelersburg leads Barnesville's fifteen
to seven at the half. Also at the half, Jackson
and London tied at fourteen. Jonathan Alder and Indian Valley.
(01:25:44):
Indian Valley leads that game thirty four to seven. The
winner of this game will play the winner of that
game next week. Another game around the area, Nelsonville, York
leads Columbus Academy seven to nothing at halftime. And that
Columbus Academy team was a team. We defeated Zane Trace
last Friday night, and I was able to catch up
(01:26:05):
with Zane Trace head coach Dylan Wers during the week,
and I've got an interview with him to talk about
that game and his team as they finished off their
season last Friday. Welcome back to halftime here and I
am now talking to Zane Trace coach Dylan Weirs coach.
(01:26:28):
Last week, your team went on the road and took
on a very good Columbus Academy team eventually following thirty
five to twenty three. Talk a little bit about the
game and your team's mentality to stay in the game
and play hard after you got down early.
Speaker 42 (01:26:42):
Yeah, incredibly proud of him playing a full four quarters,
and regardless if the scoreboard was showing exactly what we'd
like it to show, playing to the very end, we
would have liked to play a little bit better game
in our last game. Wasn't our best work. The effort
was great, playing hard was great, attitude, all that was great.
We just had some unfortunate loes on on special teams
(01:27:04):
and eternover two in a penalty or two. That's been
somewhat uncharacteristic of our team this year. So it's unfortunately,
you know, we didn't bring our absolute best to the
table in a game of that magnitude, but you know,
the kids did a great job being able to get
to that point in.
Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
The first place. Well, coach, we want to talk now
about your senior class and how valuable they have been
to your program, and also talk about the impact they
have on the younger players as well.
Speaker 42 (01:27:30):
Yeah, the seniors have been a great class to work with,
a group with a lot of talent, but I think
more importantly is the way that they work hard and
show consistently in a very very tight knit group that's
very team oriented and unselfish. A lot of the successes here,
like I said, has been from having a talented group
and some good players, but I would I would attribute
(01:27:51):
this success we had this and more to that group
and their work ethic and their and their team first
oriented attitude. And I'm hoping that that has had a
great impact on the underclassmen and those guys will stick
with that in years that come, those guys will kind
of have the same attitude and approach to the game.
Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
Well, coach, this season has been a nice season for
you guys, and we have had pleasure of covering your
team all year long. We appreciate all the time you've
given us, and we wish you nothing but success in
the future. I appreciate it.
Speaker 42 (01:28:20):
I appreciate you guys taking the time to highlight our
players and they're good and great things.

Speaker 1 (01:30:45):
Welcome back to New Lexington High School where your score
is New Lexington twenty six and U and Yoto seven.
And again we had some technical difficulties there in that
second quarter, but to just wrap it up, I believe
we left it was nineteen nothing New Lexington and Unioda
was able to pin new Lexington back into their own
territory and had them in a putting situation and with
(01:31:10):
about six minutes six and a half minutes to go,
the snap went over the punter's head and Uniida was
able to track the ball down around or the punter
down around the three yard line and he fumbled it
right into the hands of jonah Renner, who we now
find out is our number forty five normally where it's
(01:31:30):
fifty four, but he's wearing forty five tonight. So jonah
Renner was able to pick that ball up and run
it in for a touchdown for Unido that at that
time made it nineteen to seven, and then Doo to
Lexington was able to drive down the very next possession
and score on a fourth and nineteen play, a touchdown
(01:31:51):
from a throwback to the wide receiver Spencer, who then
found an open talk for Toad Indi end zone for
a touchdown and that's where we are now twenty six
to seven at halftime, and Trey looking at some of
the stats in the first half, a couple of big
plays for New Lexington sort of sums up where we are. Yeah,
(01:32:14):
you're definitely right with that.
Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
And starting with New Lexington, Paul Stinson had eleven carries
for fifty yards. He's their main running back, but their
quarterback a little bit more effective. Lane Ratliffe had eight
carries for one and forty yards and he was six
of eleven passing for sixty two yards and that touchdown
(01:32:35):
to Spicer.
Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
Spiser had three catches.
Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
For twenty six yards, but he also threw in that
twenty eight yard touchdown pass the tof that you just
mentioned about. And for the Shermans of Uniota, just really
tough going offensively. They had Cody Brayden had six carries
for eleven yards. They saw a little bit of gains
in the passing game with Isaac Cooy it was four
(01:33:00):
of eleven for thirty nine yards, did have one interception
and Jack Welchs had two catches for thirty one yards
there in the first half.
Speaker 1 (01:33:09):
And again Unido was able to travel and take the
ball down inside the ten yard line of New Lexington
there in those last two minutes of the first half,
but unable to score as they turned it over on downs.
Now Unioto does get the ball to start the second half,
so hopefully they can keep that offensive mentality going. We
will take a quick break and we will be back
(01:33:31):
with the start of the second half. You're listening to

We'll be available for a replay starting tomorrow morning. Click

were able to record that second quarter in its entirety,
(01:35:11):
and if you listen to that podcast tomorrow you'll be
able to hear what you may have missed. So again,
as we get ready to start the second half here,
Uniota is going to be receiving the ball and they
will be going left to right on your radio dial
in trade down twenty six to seven. Here, it's very
imperative for Uniota to get some points in this drive.
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Yeah, NIOED cannot have an empty possession where they don't
come away with points, and with it being a nineteen
point game, you could still settle for a field goal.
Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
It doesn't look like they really want to settle for
for field goals, which you know, I do get that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
If you even score a field goal, you got to
score sixteen points to tie it up, and you know
you got to score more to win the game.
Speaker 1 (01:35:53):
So they're really looking for three touchdowns. But you can't
get that all back at once.
Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
So you just really got to grind out these offense
possessions and see if they can get anything going in.
Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
The running game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
And then once you get that running game going, you
can compliment it with the passing game, which they've had
some success with Isaac Cooya throwing to Jack Welch.
Speaker 1 (01:36:11):
So as we get ready here we see new Lexington
coming out to get the kickoff unit on the field
back deep for Unioto is Jack Welsh and Lake and
langoff and we're also going to see in that second wave.
Right in front of them is Braidon Harsha, Jack Winingardner
(01:36:32):
and Braiden Cody Brayden. So again New Lexington kickoffs have
been going about the twenty five area. So now we're
getting all kinds of different mix ups here and New
Lexington does the quick fake kickoff. Now everybody goes back
into position. So now we got Jack Welsh deep, we
(01:36:55):
got Braiden Harsha Deep, and here is the kickoff. Goff
is going to go all the way down to Jack
Welsh at the ten. He's coming up this sideline up
to the twenty five. He gets hit at the thirty,
and that's where he is brought down to. It'll be
first to ten or n Yodo at the they're gonna
market at the twenty nine yard line. That's where they'll
(01:37:16):
start the second half. This third quarter is brought to
you by Chilling Coffee truck tray. If you're Unyodo, gotta
get something here quick. Yeah, and you know it did
have some success. They're late in the second half where
they were running in between the tackles. They were only
getting three or four yard games, and you know it's
(01:37:38):
a little bit easy to get away from that, but
let's just see where they're going. The second half, boy
tosses back to Cody Braiden, who gets a quick looks
like four yards as he came around here to the
near side. We are on the visitors sideline. They have
two press boxes here at Jim Rockwell Stadium in New Lexington.
We are on the visitor side and they're gonna give
(01:37:59):
him a game of two at the thirty one yard line,
so that'll bring up a second down and eight for Uniodo.
Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
It's still one of Unioda's more effective runs outside the tackles,
and that was led by David Long and had a
couple of really good blocks there, and he's really gonna
be that key. If they're gonna open up this run game,
it's gonna be David Long opening or taking away some
of the defenders.
Speaker 1 (01:38:21):
Fake handed off by Isaac Coy going deep down, trying
to look Jack Welch and he catches that want to
catch over the shoulder all the way down inside the
thirty five yard line to the thirty four. Excellent pass
by Isaac Coy and a even better catch by Jack Welch,
hit down the sideline. You said it.
Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
That was a really good over the shoulder catch by
Jack Welch down the sideline, staying in bounce.
Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
And it even better throw by Isaac Coy. And now
UNIONA is moving. He might have even got bumped a
little bit as he was going to make that catch.
But again, great concentration, Unioda are now inside you, Lexington
Tory at the thirty four yard line, Isaac Corey with
Cody Braiden next to him in the backfield. Coy back
to pass looking straight up. Now he runs straight up
(01:39:09):
the field and he's gonna get sacked behind the line
of scrimmage back and around the forty three yard line
is where they're going to spot the ball. He had
Cody Brayden coming across the middle, but he did not
have enough time to get it to him.
Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
Yeah, like you said, new Lexington did a really good
job of getting pressure there on Isaac Coy and just
didn't have enough time as that pocket collapse.
Speaker 1 (01:39:33):
So second down and we're gonna call it thirteen from
the thirty eight yard line. Coy the only one in
the backfield. He's going to run to his left. Looking
down field, he finds going deep and it looks like
(01:39:53):
the receiver may have run a different route to what
he thought he was gonna do. Uh, he threw it
into the end zone. The receiver stopped there right around
ten yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
Yeah, you know that though, maybe just a little bit
of miscommunication there and maybe Jack Wells tripped a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:40:08):
But now you've got third and thirteen. That just sets you.
Speaker 2 (01:40:11):
Back in an obvious passing situation, and you know you
probably are in Leon Matthews field goal range, but you
know they're looking for touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
Yeah, they're looking probably a two down situation here, so
you don't have to get all thirteen of this back here.
As they break the huddle, two receivers over to the
far side, that's the left hand side, one to the right,
two running backs in the backfield. Isaac Coy looking for
Cody Brayden, and that ball's crown after being tipped by
(01:40:41):
the defender. He had great concentration by Cody Braid and
he gets the first down right around that right after
the twenty yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
Yeah, what a catch, What a catch, And another great
throw by Isaac Quoyd. It looked like it went in
between the defensive backs hands and it was tipped.
Speaker 1 (01:40:59):
It's really good.
Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
Just hand eye coordination and control terrify Cody Braiden. So
big play third and long and they get that first
down inside the twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
Now, Indiodo has had success here in the second and
a half going down this sideline, especially passing. So three
receivers out to the left, one to the right. Cody
Braiden stays in to help block for Isaac Coy and
Isaac is going to get stopped before he gets back
to the line of scrimmage. It looked like a design
(01:41:30):
run tray. Yeah, it definitely was there.
Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
And Kenia has not had success with quarterback run up
the middle. They've had a little bit of success, not
much with Cody Braiden, but it's just not there. New
Lexa's defensive line. The big number seventy five there. We
haven't said his name, but Eli Stevens. We said a
lot of him in the first quarter. But man, he
has made a difference in this game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
So that brings up a second down and eleven Forniodo
with the balls on the twenty one yard line of
New Lexington, Cody Braiden right behind Isaac Coy. Now we
got motioned by Harsha hand off to Braiden right up
the middle and he does not get to the line
of scrimmage and tray that time. You had number one
and number sixty eight in there quickly for New Lexington.
Speaker 2 (01:42:19):
Yeah, just nowhere to go once Cody Braiden got that
hand off, he was he had a new Lexton defender
actually New Lexington defenders clural in his face and just
had nowhere to go with are.
Speaker 1 (01:42:31):
So again two runs here to start this set of downs.
Brings up a third down and thirteen. You have Welsh,
Brayden and Harsha out to the left and langoff to
the rights back to pass. Coy quickly is going to
(01:42:53):
be brought down at the thirty yard line as man
there three or four New Lexington panthers in him on
him quick. New Lexington defensive line just took over.
Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
This drive after that big catch by Jack Welch and
Cody Braden, they've just decided, oh, we're gonna take over
this game. And three straight plays going backwards for the Shermans.
All right, So fourth down now for uniodo.
Speaker 1 (01:43:20):
And it looks like it's going to be fourth down
and nineteen from the twenty nine yard line, so they
got to get to the tenth for a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
You know what, his offensive line needs to give Isaac
Coy some time to throw.
Speaker 1 (01:43:32):
This is an obvious passing down and he's looking out
to his left hand side and that ball is knocked
away at the last minute as he was going for
Lake and langoff and that'll be a turnover on downs
at the nine yard line for Uniodo. So again deep
(01:43:56):
run by Unyodo into New Lexington territory and came away
with no points. Again.
Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
Yeah, it's just the second empty possession they've had where
they've gotten it inside the red zone and I've just
been able to come unable to.
Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
Come up with points.
Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
And really really got to give the credit to New
Lexicon's defensive line. They are making Isaacquoy uncomfortable and just
not letting Mignota run their offense.
Speaker 1 (01:44:18):
So again two straight series that Uniodo is able to
get it deep into New Lexington territory with no points
on the board. Here comes New Lexington now to start
the second half. Their first possession. Ratlift turns hands off
that that's Matthias in the backfield this time and he's
going to get up to about the thirty four yard line,
so we'll give him a game of five. They bring
(01:44:39):
up a second down and five.
Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Yeah, we haven't seen much of Paul Stints, and I
do think he went over to the sideline was maybe
shaken up a little bit. So you know, it's it's
really just been Thethias and Ed Lane Ratliffe going to
work for Oh, how about this trade. We've got everyone
out the center and the quarterback the only one in
the center of the field. You've got two linemen on
(01:45:02):
each end, and now we're gonna bring everybody back together.
That's just that pre snat movement for New Lexington to
see if they had anything available.
Speaker 1 (01:45:12):
All right, So Ratlift gets a snap off to the side,
He throws it to the right hand side, finds a
man who's gonna get all the way up to the
forty three yard line. That's gonna be a first down.
And that was I believe Spicer.
Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
Yeah, Spicer again, it's just Union was kind of playing
a little bit off there, kind of look like zone
coverage that Spicer was able to find the open area
and give credit to Lane.
Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
Ratlet's put it right on him in time. So first
and ten for New Lexington at their own forty three
yard line. Motion to the left, toss to the right
to Matthias, goes up the field. He's gonna get a
gain up about one. Bring up a second down to
nine for new Lexington.
Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
That's how me and you was able to get outside
and stopify us there in his tracks. And just great
job of gang tackling there and only for gain about one.
And here's a here's Stintson again, their main running back.
Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
He's back in the game. Yeah, that was Jacob Brenner.
That did not allow him to get outside of him.
Do a good job there, New Lexington. Here second and
nine and again ratlift hard count now looks over last
minute instructions motion by tooth, looks downfield, looking down the
(01:46:32):
middle to Spicer, and that's Harsha and it goes over
Harsha and Spicer's off to the races and that's going
to be a touchdown for new Lexington. That's going to
be a forty our fifty six yard touchdown pass from
Spicer or two Spicer from Ratliff.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
It's just one of those routes of spouts Spicer's ran
the whole game, kind of a post route from his
slops position one on one with Harsha. Looked like Harsha
had a chance to make a play on the ball,
but the ball was just just over his hand and
Spicer was able to catch it and do the rest.
The man he was flying there whenever he caught that ball. Yeah,
that's just deflating there for Uniodo.
Speaker 1 (01:47:13):
Two times they were able to get it down into
New Lexington territory and not be able to get a score.
And now the New Lexicon goes right down the field.
The extra point attempt is good and that now brings
the score to thirty three to seven. The New Lexington
Panthers over the Uniodo Shartman. You're listening to the Accurate Heating,

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country w KKJA.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
Back at New Lexington. Whether your score is thirty three
to seven New Lexington over Niyodo New Lexington now getting
ready to kick off. That's Eli Dixon. Back deep for
the Shermans is Bradon Harsha and Jack Welch. Welch gets
it at the eight yard line. He's going straight up
the middle. He gets stopped, breaks to the left, finds
(01:49:05):
an opening and he's got a big opening. He's good
fifty to the thirty five twenty. He's gonna go all
the way tray big kickoff return there by Jack Welch.
Just what Unioda needed there, just.
Speaker 45 (01:49:19):
A rig night get that energy going on the sideline
play played by Jack Rolch who kind of reversed the
field and then reversed back and just had a whole
opening there.
Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
And really good job, I hadn't finish that run with
his speed. Really nice athletic playing run by Jack Welch.
So again just when Unyodo needed something, that happened, they
found it and u Nyodo now an extra point away
from making it thirty four to fourteen. He showed some
(01:49:50):
speed there once he found an opening to out that
far end over there and was able to get all
the way to the end zone.
Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
Yeah, I thought there was a chance they were gonna
catch him, but no, you just kept out gaining him
and he I think he was going faster at the
one yard line than he was at the fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:50:03):
He just kept accelerating. That gets definitely something he gets
from his mom. So the extra point attempt is up,
and goodbye, Liam Matthey, and your score now is New
Lexington thirty three and un Nyodo fourteen well, Trey, if
(01:50:25):
U Nioda's going to get a stop here, this is
definitely where you want to get it. You got a
little bit of momentum going your way.
Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Yeah, and their defensives well technically their special teams, but
their defense has showed up before getting stops and rigniting
their their momentum with that that punt that they had,
So it can really change here for UNIODA. They just gotta,
you know, keep the belief on the sideline, and you
know that that kickoff return from Jack Well, which is
(01:50:51):
definitely something that's gonna gonna keep the spirits up on
the UNIODA sideline.
Speaker 1 (01:50:58):
My normal partner Andrew Day listening to us tonight, I'm
able to make the trip over to New Lexington, and
fortunately I just sort of looked around my family and
I said, I think I got somebody who could come
with me and Trey, and we appreciate you filling in.
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
Yeah, I've had to fill in a few times with
you go on with the on cruises and everything like
that and join the retirement life.
Speaker 1 (01:51:20):
So it's a tough tough life. Track. Yeah, it is
a tough life, but I'm up for the challenge.
Speaker 2 (01:51:26):
And Andrew Day getting me a Dina Warriors basketball program
ready for their season to start here soon.
Speaker 1 (01:51:32):
Speaking of that, we will have a Dina in our
first basketball game of the year on Wednesday, November twenty
sixth against New Hope Christian Academy at one pm. A
little pooch kick by Unioto. It comes down to the
forty yard line. It's fair caught by New Lexington. So
Liam Matthey does a good job there trying to make
something happen on the kickoff, and the ball comes down
(01:51:54):
to the forty yard line where New Lexington will take
over this offensive possession. So six twelve to go here
in the third quarter, and again Uniota hanging in there
thirty three to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
And if you're Niota, you want to either you can
get a penalty for some back just so they can
get in these passing downs. And you know, I think
New Lexington has really found their groove running the ball,
but you know, passing has been good.
Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
They're just it's been tough with Spicer and his speed.
Ratleft fake handoff looking deep downfield again for Spicer. He
overthrows it, this time by five yards. But we're gonna
get a flag on the play is that a lineman
down field? He had number sixty eight all the way
down at the forty five yard line. Yeah, I think
you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
It was a long play action, so the offensive line
had a chance to get down the field a little
bit more.
Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
And that's exactly what it was. So lineman downfield and
you want to decline maybe just to get the downs.
I think that's what you Kneo is gonna do. They're
not gonna decline that penalty, so that'd bring up a
second and ten as that was incomplete. I'll tell you what,
(01:53:13):
if you're new Lexington, I think you want to get
this clock running. You don't want to keep stopping it.
I know you want to keep your offense the way
it is. But they've been going pretty well with the
running game.
Speaker 2 (01:53:22):
I think they were trying to take that momentum back
with a deep shot the spice handoff to Stenson.
Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
He finds an opening right up the middle. He's gonna
be brought down there by I believe that's number eight
for Unioto. Micah Strange saved a touchdown there.
Speaker 2 (01:53:39):
That was best run of the day by Stenson. Then
he's gotta give a lot of credit to his offensive
line there he was.
Speaker 1 (01:53:44):
Untouched for about eight yards. Again, a quick hitter there
finds an opening, and Stenson was at least twelve yards
down the field before he was even touched.
Speaker 2 (01:53:58):
Looks like we're going to get a reset of the
play clock here, and yeah, it looks like Jack wine
Gardner a little bit shaken up there, and number two
Blake Brayden, another freshman's gonna come in and uh and
take over.
Speaker 1 (01:54:11):
He's lined up a corner. It's three freshmen they got
out there in the defensive backfield for uniot hand off
here again to Stenson right up the middle. He's going
to be met there by Jarvis. Slowed him down a
little bit, but he's still able to gain up about
five yards.
Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
Yeah, you mentioned that Jarvis did a really good job
of getting off that block and he wrapped up Stenson.
But Stenson just finished the run and he's a big
running back and he fell forward and got a you know,
about three extra yards after the initial hit back.
Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
So rat lift with Stenson right behind him in the backfield,
Spicer in motion to the left hand off to Stenson
on the right hand side this time, and he's able
to get up the field four six yards maybe seven,
and that's going to be a first down new Lexington and.
Speaker 2 (01:55:02):
Getting new Lexington's just doing a really good job offensively,
especially with their offensive line opening up these holes. And
there's the last two runs since it was untouched for
those last three runs. He two of those last three runs,
excuse me, he was able to get through that offensive
line untouched for about six yards.
Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
So as they get set here, Ratlift turns in hands
to Matthias's time on the left hand side and he
goes straight up the field before of a gain of
about two yards there brings up a second down into eight.
Speaker 2 (01:55:35):
And now we're in that range where you know new
Lexington's gonna go for it on fourth down most likely.
So it's it's becoming a little bit tougher for Uniota
is getting four.
Speaker 1 (01:55:45):
Stops without ten yards and getting them off the field.
It's gonna be tough. And again the clock running here
with four fifteen to go. Here in the third quarter,
thirty three to fourteen, New Lexington leads Ratlift, hands off
the Matthias right up the middle after a game of
about two yards, brings up a third and six quickly
(01:56:10):
to the line of scrimmages New Lexington, and.
Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
We haven't seen Ratlift keep the ball yet. They've kind of,
you know, shown that play a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
Now he's gonna keep it, maybe get outside the tackles
and run here. So it's probably or four down territory
for the New Lexington. So you've got to be wary
of the run and don't all play the pass Atthias
to his left hand side. Ratlift puts one guy in motion,
quick throwout to number one Tope. He gets down the
(01:56:42):
field to about the inside now the fifteen yard line.
That's gonna be a first and ten for New Lexington
to just a quick throwout to Toth and he gets
downfield for the first down. Yeah, just a quick pass.
Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
Good job by Ratlift getting it out as quickly as
he can to get that first down.
Speaker 1 (01:56:59):
Game so quickly, New Lexington got a They were ready
to go and U Nioda was not. So Uniota is
going to have to take a time out and we
will take that time out with them. You are listening
to the accurate, hitting, pulling, and plumbing Game of the
Week on ninety four Country WKKJA.
Speaker 36 (01:57:19):

Speaker 39 (01:57:32):
What seems to be a plot ripped straight out of breaking.
Speaker 11 (01:57:36):
Bad drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people.
Speaker 23 (01:57:40):
There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.

Speaker 37 (01:57:49):

Speaker 14 (01:58:17):
This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
country WKKJ.
Speaker 1 (01:58:25):
We're at Lyft. Takes the snaphands off to Stenson. Stenson's
running right up the middle, breaks to his left hand side.
He gets up the field for about two stop that
eleven yard line and uh, I believe that's Renner running
off the field there, number twenty one, Jacob Renner. It's
like a little leg injury.
Speaker 2 (01:58:46):
Quickly someone in for him, running in for him as
a sophomore, So another underclassman. That's eighty six day Kwon
Jones for Nyoda or Daikon James.
Speaker 1 (01:58:59):
So ratlift with a second down and eight from the
eleven Spicer in motion and off to Stenson right up
the middle, breaks first tackle when he gets all the
way into the end zone for a touchdown. David Long
had him in the backfield but unable to hold on
to him, and that's a eleven yard touchdown run for Stenson.
Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Yeah, like you said, I think, uh, they had him
right in the hole there, but you know, David Long
was not an not able to take get that tackle.
And Stinson he's a he's a big running back and
it takes usually more than one Unioda sermon to bring
him down.
Speaker 1 (01:59:41):
So Uniodo scores on a kickoff return and new Lexion
goes right down the field and answers that score and
the extra point is good. I don't know why they
went for too early in the game. This number three
Eli Dixon's got a nice little leg on him.
Speaker 15 (01:59:59):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:59:59):
I don't have the stand that maybe they did that
to throw everybody off a little bit. So with two
point thirty one to go here in the third quarter,
your score now stands New Lexington forty and Unio to fourteen.
And we talked about how this New Lexington team had
a lot of firepower on the offensive side, and we're
seeing it here tonight. They can score quick or they
(02:00:21):
can have a small salt or a slow sustained drive
to get a touchdown as well. So again, as I
mentioned the basketball season coming upon us, the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday,
November twenty sixth, we will be out at the Zaint
Trace tip Off Classic, where we will be broadcasting three
(02:00:44):
games on WKKJ that day. The first game is a
Dina versus New Hope Christian Academy at one pm, followed
then by Huntington and Amanda Clear Creek at three pm.
Then we will take a short break and come back
to the nightcap that night, Saint Trace versus Fairland at
seven pm. We will then come back on Friday, the
(02:01:05):
day after Thanksgiving, and we will do the first game
out at this ain't Tray Stipoff Classic that will be
piked in versus Ross County Christian Academy. That game will
be at one pm. And again that is the start
of our basketball season here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
So again tune in for that coming up the week
(02:01:27):
of Thanksgiving. And here is the kickoff by Dixon. Welsh
now catches it at the twenty six yard line, fake
hand off to Braidon. Welsh up the middle again he
finds it opening he gets to about the forty four
yard line this time. So again a good job of
adjustments on the special teams for Unioto and making stuff happen.
Speaker 2 (02:01:52):
And Jack Wells was upset there when he got tackled
because I think if he broke.
Speaker 1 (02:01:56):
That tackle he might have himself another one.
Speaker 2 (02:01:58):
So it's a really good job there's by the special
teams to try and give you you a.
Speaker 5 (02:02:02):
Little bit more momentum.
Speaker 1 (02:02:03):
So Unioto takes over on this position at their own
forty four yard line with two twenty three to go
here in the third quarter, two receivers out to the
left hand side. One of the right two running backs
next to Isaac Coy Cody Brayden, now comes out to
the right hand side and only David Long and Isaac
Corer in the backfield. Now everybody gets set and the snap,
(02:02:28):
Corey goes back to pass looking downfield looking for Braidon
Harshaw Paul knocked away at the last second by Spicer,
and again the hars Spicer a big going had an
all at night Long one guarding another on offense, the
other one on defense.
Speaker 2 (02:02:45):
Yeah, you're right, they've each had each other's way a
couple of times, with Harsher breaking up a few passes
for Speiser, Spicer getting behind Harsha to score some touchdowns.
And then right there Spicer really good job of, you know,
going up and taking that that's you away from Marsha who.
Speaker 1 (02:03:01):
Was right in his hands. I think we saw Harsha
come off to the sideline here a little bit walker
Sam's comes in the game to spell Harsha. Coy now
brings Sam's in motion, gives the ball to Cody Braiden.
He has met in the backfield by number forty two.
We haven't called his name very much knife, but Harrison
(02:03:22):
Ratlift the leading tackler.
Speaker 2 (02:03:23):
For this new Lexington Panther team, and he's kind of
an undersized linebacker man.
Speaker 28 (02:03:28):
He is quick.
Speaker 2 (02:03:29):
It looked like Uniota was trying to pull all their
their tackles and their guards to the right side, and
he came off the right edge and was able to
get behind Cody Braiden and wrap them up take him
down for a tackle.
Speaker 1 (02:03:41):
So their two middle linebackers are five eight and five
nine one one sixty the others one seventy. Not your
typical middle line, and they do a really good job.
Speaker 2 (02:03:51):
And we've seen you did and a half very much
success in the running in between the tackles, and they
have something to do with it. Braid again right up
the middle and he's met right at the line of
scrimmage for no gain. That'll bring up a fourth down.
Speaker 1 (02:04:03):
And eleven from Unioda's own forty three yard line. See
what Unioda chooses to do here, Yeah, one sixteen to
go here in this quarter. With Harshall on the sideline,
they're gonna be one receiver short. So it's really it's
gonna be Jack Welch and Lankoff out there. Kind of
(02:04:26):
want to see if they get David Long out and
maybe get him lost in the offense. But he has
been spending this whole.
Speaker 2 (02:04:32):
Night basically protecting Isaac Koy as an extra walker.
Speaker 1 (02:04:36):
So Unioda's going for it. Isaac Corry rolling out to
his left looking for Jack Welch, and he does make
the catch, but unfortunately he's gonna come up about two
yards short of the line to gain. So again that'll
be a turnover on downs again for Unyodo. New Lexington's
(02:04:59):
gonna take over on the our own forty nine yard line. Yeah,
that throat just kind of brought him back a little
bit too far and was about two yards sharp. But again,
that was a really nice diving catch by Jack Welch,
who' hided himself a night here tonight. Yeah, he has
it again. If he was if the ball was a
little higher, he might have been able to catch it
and run down the field or at least turn to
(02:05:19):
try to get that first down. But he had to
go to the ground to make that catch. So turnover
on downs forty eight seconds go here. In this quarter,
new Lexington down comes up to the line of scrimmage, ratlift,
turns hands off the Stenson. Stenson up the middle, makes
the first two guys missing, still going and he's gonna
get all the way down to the forty one yard
(02:05:39):
line of Unioto, and that's gonna be just short of
first down. Brings up second down and one with thirty
four seconds. We'll see if New Lexington chooses to run
another play in this quarter or not. Yeah, they do.
Lexington just wants to hand the ball off to.
Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
Their big running back Paul Stintson, then let him run
this game out if they can.
Speaker 1 (02:06:02):
So clock now under fifteen seconds. New Lexington now coming
to the line of Scrimmers, looks like they're gonna run
one more play. Second and one. Rat Lift turns fake handoff,
going back to pass looking deep for Spicer, No goes
underneath to a number eleven that is Bryson Lee and
that was thrown just out of his reach. And one
(02:06:23):
second left here on the quarter clock, so it'll be
third and one and we've got now we've got Jacob
Renner whipping off the field. So you know a lot
of injuries is coming here. For u Yoda, it's just yeah,
he's come off once before too, so he's in some

pain there.
Speaker 2 (02:06:45):
So I think number fifty sixty six game that was
don zon Ze Mulin hand off up the.
Speaker 1 (02:06:53):
Middle to spent Stenson. He's gonna get the first down.
He's going to gain about eight on that play, and
that'll be the end of the third of my quorder.

Speaker 1 (02:08:22):
Back in New Lexington High School got ready to start
the fourth quarter. This fourth quarter is brought to you
by Mill City of Peril. Mill City of Peril is
also the sponsor of our scoreboard. You can find that
scoreboard on our website WKKJ dot com. Indian Valley, the
winner of this game will face the winner of Indian
Valley and Jonathanlder. Indian Valley up forty seven to twenty one,
(02:08:44):
so it looks like Indian Valley will be going on
to Week fourteen to take on the winner of this game.
New Lexington breaks a huddle day quickly to the line
of scrimmage. Ratlift turns hands off to Stenson. Stenson, coming
to the right hand side, breaks through the initial line
and he's going to get all the way down to
the fourteen yard line. Oh, I'm sorry, it's one twenty
(02:09:07):
four yard line. Bring up a second down and one, yes,
go ahead. No, Stenson's really found his groove here in
the second half. His last few carries sixteen yards five
seven eleven, nine, seven eight. So he's just really wearing
out this Union defense. Other games, Wheelersburg is up on
Barnesville thirty six thirteen in the fourth and Jackson leads
(02:09:29):
London twenty four to twenty one in the fourth. Ratliff
turns gives the Stenson Stenson again to the right hand side,
and that is Judah's Zikafuz comes in and makes to
stop there on that play, and that is going to
leave him just short of the first down.
Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
No gain on that play brings up a third and one. Yeah,
no gain, maybe even a loss of one. Judah Zikafus
the first time we said his name tonight. He did
a good job from his linebacker spot, flying through that
offensive line and meeting Stinson there on the back field
and is getting him down.
Speaker 1 (02:10:01):
Impressive tackle. Brings Stenson down by yourself. And again when
you're talking about zicka Fous again, No Jackson, Zickerfous tonight,
No Levi Bean tonight, two very big contributors to this
Uniodo team. But again they are fighting hard, especially with
the young guys, the freshmen that have come in and
filled their spots. Stenson again is going to be stopped
(02:10:22):
behind the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 28 (02:10:25):
Again.
Speaker 1 (02:10:25):
Another loss I believe that is is that Jarvis that
is in DA that was actually sixty six got in there. Initially.
Speaker 2 (02:10:34):
Donzel Newland, who plays offensive line for the Union to
Sherman with US, came in because of the injury to
Jacob Brenner. And again there are I saw David Long
in to help with that one.
Speaker 1 (02:10:44):
So fourth and two now it looks like New Lexington
is going to leave their offense on the field, maybe
run this play clock down and maybe try a field
gold attempt. I like to see them kick a field
goal because that kicker is right so quickly. They all
run to a position here with five seconds on the
play clock. Ratlift gets a snap, turns fake hand off,
(02:11:07):
finding Toth down the middle of the field. That's going
to be a first down. He's going to get all
the way into the end zone for a touchdown. And
again that's going to be a twenty five yard touchdown
pass to Tanner toe from this time ratlift.
Speaker 2 (02:11:28):
Good play design by new Lex Toth was kind of
lost in the formation there and he kind of ran
a route through the offensive line and was opened right
over the middle of the field, and he did a
good job of finishing that run toward or through the
end zone making a touchdown catch and run.
Speaker 1 (02:11:46):
So again, now the score reads forty six to fourteen.
Extra point attempt is up and good. That makes it
forty seven to fourteen. As we are going to be
going into a running clock situation, so we'll take a
quick break here. Accurate heating, cooling, and plumbing gave it
the week on ninety four Country WKKJ.

Speaker 14 (02:13:07):
His hometown high school football coverage on ninety four Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (02:13:15):
Back at New Lexington High School with nine ten to go.
Here in this ballgame, as New Lexington getting ready to
kick off to U Niodo and again back deep Jack
Welch and Lake and Langolf. Again New Lexington tries to
quick and now they get back into their normal formation
(02:13:39):
and Dixon gets ready to approach the ball. And here's
the kick. It's a low on the ground and that's
going to be touched by Uniodo and then following on
by I believe that is number five Jack Winegardner and
they will take over on their own twenty or thirty
one yard line is Uniodo, and again we are.
Speaker 28 (02:14:04):
Line.
Speaker 1 (02:14:05):
I thought we were going through running clock here, but
maybe not. And here we go clock now running eight
forty eight to go. Here in this ball game, Uniodo
sends out two receivers to the right hand side, one
or to the left empty backfield with Isaac Koid Braiden
(02:14:31):
in motion. Fake hand off the Braiden and Koid brings
it out here. He breaks it out to the left
hand side. He's able to get all the way down
to the thirty five yard line board before he's brought
down by Spicer.
Speaker 28 (02:14:43):
Boy.
Speaker 1 (02:14:43):
This New Lexing team is quick.
Speaker 2 (02:14:45):
They are definitely quick and led by them linebackers who
we haven't really had to talk about much, but they
have definitely affected this game and the Spicer they're playing
corner and you know that the defensive line for New
Lexington they are massive, but they are quick with their
first steps and they're they're really giving this really good
Unioda offensive line troubles this whole night. Yeah, New lex
(02:15:09):
You know, not a lot of people other than the
offense and defensive lineman over six foot coy hands off
the braid and going right up the middle, he pushes
a pile forward. He's going to get up to about
the thirty eight yard line and that should be brings
up a third down and four for uniodo'clock now at
(02:15:31):
seven thirty in running, looks like we might have an
injured uniodo sherman out there.
Speaker 1 (02:15:37):
Yeah, I think that's that's Cody Brayden.
Speaker 2 (02:15:40):
No, he's up and good, but he's been taking a
beating with you know, he doesn't have very many yards
to show for his performance tonight, but he has you know,
he's taken a licking from this this new Lexington defense.
He's he's had to gain or he has earned all
the yards he has gotten, and he just hadn't had
much holes to run through.
Speaker 1 (02:15:59):
And again he's a who. On senior night, was got
hurt in the first play of the game against Westfall,
and fortunately he was able to come back here in
week twelve after the buye and have a good game
last week against Columbus East. Coy back to pass quickly
throws out to Jack Welsh and a flag late flag
(02:16:19):
on that one. Yeah at LA number nine, Gay, Well,
he's gonna call a illegal procedure. Man that was a
late flag for a legal procedure.
Speaker 2 (02:16:28):
I think maybe they were going to get passing a Ferris.
There was a wide receiver blalking down the field. Maybe
I legal contact or whatever they would call that, but yeah, no,
it didn't look like illegal procedure.
Speaker 1 (02:16:39):
So as they asked new Lexington what they want to
do with this penalty, clock continues the run with six
point fifteen to go here in this ballgame, and coach
is taking way too long to make this decision. So
the referee says, we're going to stop until you make
a decision. So it was third down and four. They
(02:17:05):
push it back and make third down and nine.
Speaker 2 (02:17:08):
He is still not the sid so okay, he's gonna
decide to take the penalty and move him back, so now.
Speaker 1 (02:17:15):
We will get the clock started again. Thirty three yard
line turn out and third down and nine for Unioto.
Isaac Coy rolling out here to his left throwing, he
finds David Long. There's a guy you've been talking about,
(02:17:36):
and that's gonna be enough for the first down. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:17:40):
He just does a really good job of getting lost
there by the defense, and in that time, they really
kind of did a bootleg of Isaac Coy got him
outside the tackles and on the run he made a
really good throw on the run, hit long right on
the numbers and was able to just get enough of
that first down.
Speaker 1 (02:17:59):
So now it's gonna be first and ten for the Shermans.
So five point thirty to go here in the game.
Clock is running Sherman's ball at their own forty three
yard line, Coy and Braden in the backfield. Cooy goes
back to pass. Looking down, finds Jack Welsh. He's at it.
The caught it at the third forty five and they're
(02:18:22):
gonna give him his forward progress to the forty five.
Now'll bring up a second down and eight.
Speaker 2 (02:18:30):
That was Jack Welch's fifth catch here tonight. He's you know,
he's definitely done a good job. Philm Well. He got
playing time before Jackson Zickafous, but he has helped fill.
Speaker 1 (02:18:40):
That hole of Jackson Zikavus here tonight and he's had
a really good game. And again you talk about Jackson Zikafouse,
it's not one person that can fill the shoes of
the Jackson Zikafouse. He does so much for this team
return defensively and offensively. But again, you Nioto has done
a great job of next man up here in guys
(02:19:00):
filling in. Isaac Coy takes it. He's running around the
right hand side. He's gonna get knocked out of bouncing
around the fifty yard line, Isaac Cord and we're Green
Throats ball. We're gonna market at their own forty nine
for Unioda. That brings up a third down and four.
The clock running now at four fifteen to go here
in this ball game. So again, when you look at
(02:19:27):
things here tonight, it's probably not going to come out
on the side of the Unioda Suertmans tonight. But again,
a great season for them.
Speaker 15 (02:19:34):
They have.
Speaker 1 (02:19:36):
Got eleven wins on the season. They went undefeated in
the regular season. Third straight gold ball in the sbcall.
Isaac Coy now waits a snap hand off to David Long.
Long goes right up the middle. He's gonna get He's
definitely going to push the pile forward and he's going
to get very close to the line to gain here
at they're going to give him the forty eight. It's
(02:19:58):
going to be about a yard yorks, so that'll bring
up a fourth down and one as we go under
three thirty to go here, in the ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:20:07):
I think David Long had some anger out on that
run because he was laying a beating on those New
Lexington defenders and that he did not want to go down.
So he's spent all night blocking him. And now he's
getting a few touches here at the here at the
end of the game and is making a I mean
a pretty good showing there of a.
Speaker 1 (02:20:27):
Nice, nice senior for the Shermans. Yeah, and again a
lot of seniors on this Sherman's team. I think coach
said they had like nineteen seniors this year, and again
a lot of contributors from that senior class to what
happened this year. Isaac Koy back to pass looking at
Jack Welsh. He's got it and he's inside New Lexington territory,
(02:20:48):
brought down at the thirty three yard line. So great
job there. That's going to be a gain of fifteen
on that play for Jack Wells. He's going to be
close to that one hundred yard markers. Yeah, he's definitely
getting close to get their six catches. I think he's
getting about eighty five yards for Jack Welch. And we've
talked about, you know, some seniors for Unioda him.
Speaker 2 (02:21:09):
And Isaac Coy. That connection has been really good tonight.
They're both juniors, so we'll be back for the Shermans
next year.
Speaker 1 (02:21:15):
And Jack Welch had some nice return yard HEAs too,
so he's getting close to two hundred yards on the
night total offense. Cody Braiden right up the middle, he
finds it opening. He gets inside the twenty five yard line,
down into twenty four. That's going to be close to
a first down. Looks like a yard short and nine
yards by Cody Brayden.
Speaker 2 (02:21:33):
That was the most space Cody Braiden's had to run
all night, and the offensive line got him a hole
there and he did not miss it and got about
ten yards all right, So under.
Speaker 1 (02:21:41):
Two minutes to go here in the ballgame for Uniodo.
Second down and one at the twenty four yard line
of New Lexington. Again, New Lexington still has all of
their starters out there on the field, so Unyodo Coy
back to pass and here comes the rush. He eludes
(02:22:03):
one up. Nope guy grabbed a hold of him and
tore him down. That was number five Kelly and again
leading sack guy for New Lexington gets another one. I
believe that's his second on the night.
Speaker 2 (02:22:15):
Yeah, that's his second tonight, this fourth sacks for New
Lexington as a team.
Speaker 1 (02:22:22):
So er n Yodo forty seven to fourteen down to
New Lexington here tonight at Jim Rockwell Stadium in New Lexington.
Clock runs down to one minute to go here in
the ballgame. Third down and nine for you, Niyodo. At
the New Lexington thirty three yard line, Isaac Coy waits
(02:22:45):
a snap back to pass looking downfield. I believe that
is longan langoff and that is going to be a
little bit too far for him, and I don't see
any flags down there, so that's just going to be
incomplete pass. There is some contact but no flag call. Yeah,
just a little bit of contact.
Speaker 2 (02:23:06):
A nice throw by Coy there, But that might be
the last plage.
Speaker 1 (02:23:12):
Twenty seconds to go and Langoff still down the field.
He's got to rush back here to get into the
huddle fifteen seconds ago. So maybe enough time for one
more play here for Unioto on fourth down? Fuck now
at seven, So last play here of the night. Isaac
Coy goes back to pass, being flushed out of the pocket,
(02:23:35):
throws out to David Long. David Long now tosses it
back and now we've got some throwbacks, and the ball
is now going to be recovered by New Lexington. And
that's your ball game from New Lexington to high School.
The New Lexington Panthers defeat the Unioda Shirts forty seven
to fourteen. We'll be back with the Adena Health Systems

And welcome back to Jim Rockwell Stadium here in New Lexington,
where the final score is New Lexington forty seven.
Speaker 2 (02:29:09):
In the UNIODA Shermans fourteen. We would get down to
the field here field here shortly for an interview with
UNIODA coach Matt Hoops, but first looking back at the
scoring summary for the game. It started off seven fifty
six left in the first quarter. New Lexington went up
(02:29:29):
six to nothing on a rat Lift seventy one yard
rushing touchdown that was actually a throwback to him, a
little bit of a trick play for new Lexington, and
that gave new Lexington the early six to nothing lead.
And then there followed that with a twenty six yard
passing touchdown from Ratlift to Spicer. The two point conversions
(02:29:51):
for both of those were no good, so it was
twelve to nothing with twenty eight seconds left in the
first quarter. And then new Lexington added on a a
pick six by King, which was a forty four yard
interception return, and then new Lexington was up nineteen to nothing.
And then Unioda Sherman's got on the board with a
three yard fumble return after the punt by new Lexington.
(02:30:15):
The snap was over the punter's head and was picked
up by jonah Rinner for the three yard return that
made it nineteen to seven. Unioda got on the board
there with six point thirty three in the second Then
shortly after that New Lexington had a twenty eight yard
pass another tent playing for the new Lexington Panthers, which
(02:30:35):
they broke out a couple of times here tonight. That
was a twenty eight yard pass caught by Top but
the pass was don by the wide receiver Spicer, and
that was twenty six to seven just before the end
of the halftime, two minutes twenty and two minutes and
twenty five seconds left in the second and then new
Lexington added on a little bit more in the second
(02:30:57):
half with thirty three to seven. At the beginning of
the second half, Spicer at a fifty six yard pass
from Ratlift, and then u Nioda got back on the
board thirty three to fourteen. That was a ninety two
yard kick return by Jack Welch, who had a good
game here tonight both receiving and on special teams, and
that was six twelve in the third quarter thirty three
(02:31:18):
to fourteen. New Lexington then followed that in the third
quarter was a Stintson eleven yard touchdown run. The pat
was good and that was forty to fourteen New Lexington.
Speaker 1 (02:31:30):
And then there in the fourth quarter, just before the running.
Speaker 2 (02:31:32):
Clock, there was another passing touchdown by the quarterback Ratlift
Lane Ratliffe, and that was twenty five yards to Tanner
Tough And we are getting ready to go down to the.
Speaker 1 (02:31:44):
Field with UNIODA coach Matt Hoops. This was a team
you and I talked about during the week. They can
really get after you, they're quick, they spread you out,
and they have some big plays. And that's what happened

length up front was unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (02:32:07):
And they're good, you know, they're really good.
Speaker 16 (02:32:10):
But at the same time, I just felt like a
couple of balls bounced the wrong way, you know. And
I hate to say that, and I'm not trying to
make excuses, but you know, let's face it, twenty one
of their points in the first half for two trick
plays and a pick six, so and obviously that was
self inflicted.
Speaker 1 (02:32:27):
But I mean, that's you cannot do that at this
stage of the game, and we did.
Speaker 16 (02:32:33):
But you know, we give up that big play at
the end of the half to make it twenty six
to seven.
Speaker 1 (02:32:38):
You know, if we hold them there and.
Speaker 16 (02:32:39):
We go down and we had a nice drive and
it's you know, it's nineteen to seven, then we can
kick the field goal there and make it nineteen to
ten going into halftime. And but I mean, you can
say if and this and that, but I'm just saying,
you know.
Speaker 1 (02:32:50):
I felt like our guys.
Speaker 16 (02:32:53):
Just missed on a couple plays and New Lex took
advantage of it. And that's what really good teams do,
and that's why those guys are one of the eight
teams left in the state of Ohio.
Speaker 1 (02:33:02):
And coach you came out the second half too, and
had a really nice drive, got it in deep in
their territory and again weren't able to come away with points.
I thought that was a big play too.
Speaker 16 (02:33:11):
Absolutely, sometimes when you get down in there inside the twenty,
everything shrinks up. And I talked about their length a
little bit earlier, and then then it becomes more of
a problem because you run out of room. And we
ran out of room and ran out of plays and
you know, but you know, it's a tough night. It
was a really tough night. I just felt like our guys,
you know, just showed the type of young men that
they are, their character and they just kept playing, which
(02:33:32):
which I knew they would.
Speaker 1 (02:33:33):
But you know, it had to end somewhere.
Speaker 16 (02:33:35):
Everyone's going to lose except for one team in the state,
and you know, our road just ended tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:33:40):
Well, coach. We don't like to use this as coaches
and the excuses, but you had injuries throughout the year,
and the thing that really I thought your team did
a great job of is guys stepped in and filled
those roles. Now, a guy like jackson' zi confused. You
can't fill with one guy, but you had multiple guys
step in in the last two games. Did a great
job for you, I thought out And you're.
Speaker 16 (02:34:00):
Talking about guys they'd only been in high school for
fifteen weeks. You know, we were talking about freshmen who
have been out there playing, and but again they're able
to do what they do because of the guys that
kind of laid the foundation for him and the senior
leaders that we have on this team. You know, obviously, yeah,
we would have liked to have Jackson. We liked that Levi,
(02:34:21):
we liked that Usef, we'd like that tie. Those are
all four really good football players. But when you get
the week thirteen of the football season, chances are you're
not going to be at full full strength. And we
understood that, and we knew that coming in, and you know,
we knew what we had to do, and we just
weren't able to do it, but I'll tell you it
wasn't from a lack of effort on our guys part.
Speaker 1 (02:34:40):
Well, Coach talk here as we end, talk about your
seniors and what they've meant to you in your program. Well,
they mean everything. I mean, you're talking about a group
of kids.
Speaker 16 (02:34:50):
That in four years won nine games three times and
won eleven games once.
Speaker 1 (02:34:55):
And if I do the math, right, I think that's.
Speaker 16 (02:34:59):
Forty forty eight games, right, Yes, I mean that's thirty
eight wins out of a possible I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:35:05):
Forty forty three or forty four games. So that's really good.
Speaker 16 (02:35:09):
And those guys are just they're just you know, they're
really good football players. But I'm telling you this, they're
better people. And that's cliche, say whatever you want, but
if you met these guys, you know exactly what I'm
talking about. They're just great young men. They're great leaders,
they're great character they're great students. And one day that's
going to translate into being good employee employees, it's going
to translate into being good leaders in our community. It's
(02:35:31):
gonna be you know, good husbands, good fathers, all the
things that you want them to be.
Speaker 1 (02:35:34):
And those guys, I have no doubt will be well, Coach,
has been a pleasure what you guys all season long?
Pleasure tych for us as we try to carry some
of these games.
Speaker 16 (02:35:45):
Yeah, well, and then you know it's we're really blessed
in our area to have so many great media outlets
that cover these guys and and give them the opportunity
to experience what a lot.
Speaker 1 (02:35:55):
Of kids don't you know.
Speaker 16 (02:35:56):
I just feel like the everything that we do in
the Ross County area is outstanding for young people, and
your guys's coverage with so many others is outstanding, and
these guys will have this for the rest of their
lives and they can look back on and be happy.
Speaker 1 (02:36:10):
You know.
Speaker 16 (02:36:10):
Right now they're disappointed, which if you care about something.
Speaker 1 (02:36:13):
You're gonna be and we all are.
Speaker 16 (02:36:15):
But you know, here a month or so, we're going
to look back and think of the great special season
that these guys were able to put together and all
of the hard work they put in to make it.
Speaker 1 (02:36:23):

Hometown high school football coverage continues with the Audio Technica
postgame report on ninety four Country WKKJA.
Speaker 1 (02:40:52):
Welcome back to New Lexington High School, where your final
score tonight is New Lexington Panthers forty seven and the
Unioder Sherman's fourteen and again a knight that you know
started out big for New Lexington and they just sort
of hung on and big plays was a big thing
here tonight. And as you heard from Coach Hoops, his
(02:41:13):
guys didn't give up and they played hard all the
way through and Unfortunately, this is not how you want
your season end. But a great season for the Uniodo
Sherman's SVC title, third straight gold Ball, and you know,
they got a playoff win for the first time in
school history, and they were undefeated in regular season for
first time in school history. Tray Again, great job by
(02:41:36):
Unioda all season long. Yeah, definitely, and it's you know,
getting a playoff win any year is nothing to hang
your head about. And they've they've had a really good
year and.
Speaker 2 (02:41:45):
Like Coach Hoops that tonight, just a couple of bounces
didn't go their way and it really was that, you know,
just a couple of trick plays by new Lex and
a couple of ampi dye possessions that just didn't go
their way for un Yoda. So it's a you know,
it was definitely a lot closer to what the scoreboard
is going to say. But again, a great season by
Unioda and nothing to hang your head about.
Speaker 1 (02:42:07):
And again we've had a great football season here on
WKKJ ninety four Country, and again we want to thank
all those people that helped us a long way, all
the coaches in the FVC that put up with me
and me bugging them about interviews. We'd like to also
thank those who worked alongside me, Andrew Day sometimes Trey
(02:42:30):
you stepped in as well, and and my son Christopher
also who stepped in when Andrew and I could not
fill in. But it's been a wonderful football season and
we hate to see it come to an end. But
it is starting to get a little cold outside, so
it's time to go inside for basketball season. Also, we
cannot end this broadcast without talking about how wonderful our
(02:42:53):
producer in studio is, Sydney Newsome. People have no idea
how this all works, and there's one person that gets
us on the air, one person that is able to
take care of all the problems that may happen at
any time, and you never know what that problem is
gonna be. And Sydney does a wonderful job and we
(02:43:13):
could not do this without her. So again, Sidney Newsom,
we thank you. All of us here at WKKJ in
the broadcast area thank her very much. And if anybody
sees her out, just make sure you give her a
big shout out because she does all kinds of things
for us to make sure we get on the air.
So again, big shout out to Sydney. So, Trey, you're
(02:43:35):
gonna join us a little bit for basketball season. You're
gonna hear myself, You're gonna hear my son Chris, and
maybe my son Jeff also is gonna step in a
little bit as well. So you'll have the postage plan
for the basketball season here on WKKJ. Andrew Day is
the head basketball coach at Adina, so we won't see
him on the broadcast unless I interview him after the game.
So until Wednesday, November twenty sixth, and when we start
(02:43:59):
our basketball broadcast at one pm that afternoon with the
DNA and New Hope Christian Academy. My name is Sloop
Postage along with my son Trey Postage. And again Sydney
newsome back in the studio. We thank you for listening
to us, and until that Wednesday, we will see you
on the basketball court. You have been listening to the
