This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA. Today's game is presented by Accurate Heating, Cooling
and Plumbing and brought to you by Home Loans by
Jan Kroger, the Savings Bank, Shine on Chillicoffee and Minards
with the audio technical pregame show. Here's Andrew Day and

(00:25):
Lou Postage College.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Well, welcome to Week ten of the high school football season.
And tonight we come at you from Uniodo High School
where it is the Uniodo Sherman's and the West Fall Mustangs.
And my name is Lou Postage along with Andrew Day
and Andrew Mother nature is undefeated this year. Another perfect
night here in Ohio. It's late October. The only thing

(00:51):
we could say is it may be a little nippy, yeah,
but come October, that's what it's supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
It is, uh man, you're a ten for ten on
football Friday nights this year, looking out over the hills
of southern Ohio where the leaves are starting to turn.
The little crispan their like. This is high school football
in Ohio and we're lucky to be a part of it.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
And Week ten also brings a lot of unknowns here.
We got Unioda Shermans have clinched a tie for the
SVC title. Tonight, they're going in for the outright title,
third straight outright title, and they're trying to win a
third straight gold Ball. They also have a twenty three
game SVC win streak on the line here tonight. And
the team that is coming to Uniota tonight, the Westball Mustangs.

(01:34):
They want to break all that. They have a chance
to win or get into playoffs with a win.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, so there's you know, like you said, there's league implications,
there's playoff implications, probably some all league implications for voting
for players. And you know, this Wistful team is an
interesting team against this Uniota team. Their ability to run
the ball certainly gives them a chance to shorten the
game a little bit. So we could be in for

(02:02):
really you know tonight. Well, yesterday I got a chance
to talk to both coaches. You're gonna get a chance
to hear those interviews here. Next, you're listening to the
Adena Health Systems pregame show on the Accurate Heating, Cooling
and Plumbing Game of the Week on ninety four Country WKKJ.

What's going on, Fellows sports Fans at Danny West. Let's
look back on this day in sports history.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
October twenty fourth.

Speaker 10 (04:31):
We'll start off Today, in nineteen ninety two, the Toronto
Blue Jays take baseball's championship trophy outside the US for
the first time, beating the Atlanta Braves four to three
and eleven innings in Game six of the World Series. Today,
in two thousand and four, of the New England Patriots
extend their NFL winning streak to twenty one games with
a thirteen to seven win over their AFC East rival

(04:53):
New York Jets. The Patriots also set the regular season
mark of eighteen straight wins, surpassing the seven team one
by the nineteen thirty three thirty four Chicago Bears. And
today in twenty twelve, Pablo Sandoval becomes the fourth player
to hit three home runs in a World Series game
to lead the San Francisco Giants over the Detroit Tigers

(05:14):
eight to three in the opener.

Speaker 9 (05:16):
Now you know today in sports history on iHeartRadio, This
is hometown high.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
School football coverage with the audio technical pregame show on
ninety four Country WKKJA.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
The Adena Hills Systems Pregame Show. I am now talking
to Westfall coach Logan's step coach. Last week, your team
had a big bounce back win fifty three to twenty one,
over piked in after a tough loss the week before
at Huntington. Talk about that win and has that carried
over into your preparation for this week.

Speaker 11 (05:50):
Yeah, it was a great overall team win. You know,
we really held them to about fourteen points. We gave
up a touchdown on kickoff at the end of the halftime.
All right, sorry attended the first half, but you know,
a lot of that, you know, finally came together. You know,
we we played well. We worried about the things that
we could control. Those all adding up allowed us to

(06:12):
play a really good football game. Obviously, our offensive line
had a task. You know that the Pipe defensive line
is pretty big and they're pretty physical, and you know,
their their scheme is challenging defensively at times. You know,
I put a lot of pressure on them all week long,
and they stood up to the challenge. And obviously our
running backs did too, so you know, it was a

(06:33):
good team win. Their defense played really well. We had
kids with like we had a kid with eighteen tackles,
a kid with fourteen tackles. You know, they were flying,
they were flying all over the place and it was
really cool to see. So you know the answer that
second part of that question. Yeah, sure, we're going to
take a lot of that momentum into this week. We're
going to you know, trying to keep the same pace
we've played all year long. We're going to continue to

(06:55):
play fast and make teams think a little bit more
about you know, some motion and shifts and things like that. So, yeah,
we're playing our best ball right now and hopefully that
carries to end of Friday night.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Defensively, your team has a big test this week trying
to slow down the team that averages over forty seven
points a game and can score in.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
A variety of ways.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
What do you see from Uniodo offensively and how might
you slow them down?

Speaker 11 (07:20):
They're very balanced, right, They have a really good quarterback
with a lot of good skilled kids in a big
offensive line, and a good running back.

Speaker 12 (07:28):
So you know, we have.

Speaker 11 (07:29):
To present them different looks pre snap and post snap,
maybe create some confusion.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
With the ball.

Speaker 11 (07:37):
You know, last year we held them under twenty five
rushing yards. The year before that, we couldn't stop them
at all in rushing, right, So this year I think
we're a little bit better stopping both in games where
teams aren't running the ball as much on us, and
we kind of you know, prove that against Dane Trace

(07:57):
they didn't do they didn't weren't able to run the ball,
and us they score to lay touchdowns off trick plays.
And then you know, offensively, you know, we're still playing well.
So we we just got to find a way to
keep their quarterback in the pocket, not let them scramble,
make plays on a seat, also give them a bunch
of looks.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Well, offensively, you pose a big problem to a lot
of teams with your rushing attack. How can your team
use that to help control the tempo of the game
and keep that high power you Ni Yoda offense off
the field.

Speaker 11 (08:26):
I don't know if we're going to change anything offensively
as far as the pace of play. We're still going
to play really fast. We're going to snap the ball
really quick. We're going to line up, get to the line,
and play really.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Fast fat ball.

Speaker 11 (08:37):
That's what we've been successful at allyr long. So just
because we're going against the team that's that's like them,
doesn't really change our philosophy on you know, snapping the
ball and playing fast. I think that when you do
those things, you create a different set of problems for
a team like like U Niota. You know, they're they're
super sound and what they do. So the faster we

(08:57):
can play and get them out of position, the better
I think we will be. So, you know, I'm not
sure we'll change anything as far as that goes well.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Coach. One final question.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
This year, the playoffs include only the top twelve teams
in each region. Your team sits at sixteenth in Region fifteen.
With a win, your team could find themselves in the
top twelve. What are your feelings on the new format
and do you use the playoffs as extra motivation this week?

Speaker 11 (09:23):
So to answer the question about my feelings on it,
my feelings really don't matter, but I'm not a fan
of it. Every sport in the state of Ohio gets
into the tournament for free, right, they don't have to do.
You could go you could lose every single game and
still get in the tournament for basketball, baseball. So anything
opening up the playoffs was I think a very good

(09:43):
decision for OHSA and the kids that play the sport.
There's a lot of, you know, work that goes into
playing football, and a lot of kids spend a lot
of time doing it when you shrink that field, that
kind of deters numbers away from programs like ours, right
like when we made the the playoffs a couple of
years ago at sixteen, right like, our kids really believe

(10:04):
that we deserve to be in the playoffs as they should.
Right We played really well that year, and we're playing
really well this year too, and it's unfortunate that they
did make that decision. And now it's just taking opportunities
away from teams that you know might not be able
to get in, but you know are good enough to
get in, but sometimes the schedule doesn't allow it. We're
beaten six teams, but unfortunately those teams aren't winning a

(10:25):
bunch of games either. That's not our fault, you know,
And I think that when you shrink the field, that
kind of takes some of that out on teams like ours,
you know. And obviously, if we win this week, we'll
be one hundred percent in and that'll be for sure
motivation for our kids. Not to mention we have, you know,
not we haven't beat them in four years, and we've
been really close a few times. A couple of years ago,

(10:45):
there was you know a lot of questionable things that
happened during the game, and I think that if those
went our way, we win that game. And last year
we just weren't built to be a team like them,
and I think this year we are, and we just
got to play super sound football and have a lot
of fun while we're doing it.

Speaker 13 (11:01):
But yeah, to.

Speaker 11 (11:02):
Answer your question, I'm not a huge fan of shrinking
it back down to twelve. I think you're just taking
opportunities and you know, away from kids, and that's that's
not what I'm about. I'm about giving these kids the
most opportunity they can, just like every other sport in
the state of Ohio.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Well, Cochet's well said, and we appreciate your time and
best of luck. On Friday night, thank you. When we

WKKJ Adnaheuse Systems Pregame Show. I am now talking to
Uniodo coach Matt Hoops coach. Friday is going to be
Senior Night at Unioto and your seniors have a chance
to win a third straight outright SVC title in a
third street old ball and improve that SVC winning streak
to twenty four.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Talk about how special that group.

Speaker 23 (15:06):
Is, well, I think when you when you use the
term their strengthen numbers, I think this senior class is
a perfect example of that. There are eighteen of them,
and with that, they're all really good players too, so
it makes it even better when when you get that combination.
I think if we win Friday, I think they'll end
up over four years, they'll be twenty seven and one
in the league, which I don't know if that's been

(15:28):
done before or not, but that's a pretty good mark.
But the good thing about this guy these guys are
they're all extremely hard workers, but they're all really good
kids too, I mean great young men off the field
and on the field. I think you know, their record
and everything that they've accomplished speaks for itself. Just a
really good, good group, a rare group, and we're definitely
gonna miss them all well.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Coach on Friday. Defensively, your team is only allowing three
points a game and averaging about nine tackles for a
loss each game. Friday, you are facing one of the
best rushing combos in the area with the two running
backs to rights in their quarterback everly, they are averaging
over two hundred and twelve yards a game. I see
this as a big, key tick the game. Talk a
little bit about this matchup. Oh, it's huge.

Speaker 23 (16:12):
Obviously, our ability to stop the run and their ability
to establish the run is going to kind of be
where this game has decided, I think. And you know,
they do a really good job of using a lot
of different formations to have success run on the football.
And those three guys that you just mentioned are all
extremely fast and really good athletes and make a lot

(16:32):
of plays for Westfall.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
So you know that's that's key.

Speaker 23 (16:35):
Number one on our scouting reporters to attempt to stop
the run.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Well, offensively, you've been held under forty points only once
you're nineteen and nothing win over z Ain Trace. You're
averaging forty seven point four points a game. Some basketball
teams would love to have that. I've coached some of
them and talk about how this unit has improved each
week because to me it may be hard to believe,

(17:00):
but they are much improved from earlier in the year
to where they are now.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
I think I've said this multiple times.

Speaker 23 (17:07):
We go as the offensive line goes, and I think
that one of the reasons that you're seeing, you know,
the improvement of our team offensively is because of how
much those guys have geled together and became that, you know,
the one unit you're looking for upfront over the last
nine weeks. And I just think thinks that allows us
to do a lot of different things offensively. Our offensive
coordinator Bill Bryant does a great job of scheming and

(17:30):
game planning each week to put us in the best
position possible to have success. And he's able to do
that with multiple formations, and you know, the guys upfront
doing their jobs.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
So you know, I just.

Speaker 23 (17:41):
Think that, you know, like anything, when you get comfortable
doing something, you become confident, and I think that that's
kind of where we are offensively.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Well, I coach, I know, you know this is week ten.
Week eleven is still in the future. But playoffs, I know.
I ask you this earlier about the new playoff format.
With a win Friday, you guys could find your team
with a buy in week eleven.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
What are your feelings on that? I mean, there's good
and bad of everything.

Speaker 23 (18:09):
The good thing is is it gives you an extra
week to heal up some of the bumps and bruises
that you've accumulated over the last ten weeks. The bad
thing is it gets you out out of a routine.
But we'll try to figure it out the best way
we can in terms of, you know, well, how we'll
approach it.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Just depending on how that all shakes out.

Speaker 23 (18:28):
I think a lot of it depends on what happens
with the Columbus East and Lenna McKinley game will determine
kind of our fate. And obviously we're gonna have to
take care of ourselves too. We're gonna definitely have to
win the game to keep ourselves in that position. But
you know, our team's excited for this Friday and obviously
having already clinched, so you know, I don't want to
say that that pressure is off, but you know, we

(18:49):
know we're gonna at least be playing at least for
another couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Well, coach, we appreciate your time and best luck on Friday,
all right, thank you. When we come back, we'll have
some keys to the game and the opening kickoff. You're

Speaker 3 (22:49):
I think for n Yodo the keys are simple. You
get the ball your playmakers and let them do what
they do. Establish the run with Cody Brayden, and then
find ways to get the ball to Jackson Zikafuz and
Levi b and Jack Welch and just spread the ball
around and create opportunities. I think if you're west Full,
it's also pretty simple. It's be stubborn. You do what
you do. Run the football, don't pass even you know,

(23:13):
even on downs when it calls for it, don't don't
turn the ball over. Take care of the ball. Run
the ball, you know, use the clock. If you're going
to pass past when you want to, not when you
feel like you have to. So if your Westfall be stubborn.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
While west Fall is being a little stubborn right now,
they haven't come out of the locker room yet, So
when we come back, we'll have that opening kickoff. You're

But here's Andrew Day and lou postage.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Well, welcome back to Unioda High School where the opening
kickoff you have Liam Matthey and it goes all the
way to the five yard line where he'll be returned
by Aiden Daniels and he's going to get it back
to about the twenty where he's going to be brought down.
That'll bring up first and ten to the west Fall Mustangs.
Unioda won the toss. They defer to the second half,

(27:31):
so west Fall will receive. They'll be going north on
this field as field goes north and south, so they'll
be going left to right or right to left, I
should say on your radio dial. So coming out of
quarterback for the west Fall Mustangs is Quinn Eberley. He's
going to have behind him Joey Wright and Eli Wright
as the running backs. He's going to turn hand off

(27:52):
to Joey Wright and he's going to barely make it
back to the line of scrimmage as he tried to
go around the right hand side. There are actually going
to get him a loss of one on that play,
so that bring up a second down and eleven. The
other offense offensive line is Canaan Van Dine, Russ Callahan,

(28:12):
Mason Halderman, Sutton Neff, and Dominic Andrea. Also the receivers,
you'll see Carson Deskins, Wayland Moore, and land In Sparks.
That's the offense for the west Fall Mustangs. Has it
come out here? Second and eleven?

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Well, UNIODA is gonna load up the box and do
everything they can to stop this Westfall running rushing attack.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Aberley gives off to Joey Wright, he goes around towards
the right hand side. He's gonna get some positive yardis
this time he's going to get all the way up
to the twenty two yard line, so we'll.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Give him a gain of three.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
And that stingy defensive line for the Uniodo Shermans is
Jacob Renner Dai Kwon, James, Bryce Jarvis, and Luke Howard,
defensive linebackers Judah Zikafuz, David Long, and Cody Brayden. And
in the defensive backfield that's Levi being Jackson Zikafus, Jack Wagner,
and Micah Strange. So bring up a third down and eight.

(29:11):
And I know Coach step talked about how he wants
to play quick. He's not gonna play quick here. He's
taking his time getting to play in. It's already down
to five seconds on a play clock, and they may
not get dissiraing. Yep, he does get it off. Beverly
goes to his right looking downfield. He's going to keep
it and he's going to get about a game of

(29:31):
maybe two up to the twenty four yard line. He
would bring down fourth down and six.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
David Love.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
We also sow in there for the unioda Sherman's number eleven,
as Javon Smith was in there as.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
A defensive end that time. Well, that was a design
pass play, but Everly didn't like what he saw as
he rolled out to his right, so he decided to
rather than making a mistake, you know, punted and see
what your defense can do here. So Carson Deskin's the
punter for west Fall. He gets it off, he's going
to land at about his forty six and it's going
to come to Jackson Zickafous at about the forty six

(30:12):
of the.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Shermans where they will take over first and ten. Coming
out for Uniodo will be their quarterback Isaac Coy. Behind
him in the backfield will be Cody Brayden and David Long.
The offensive line, Bryce Jarvis, Glenn Stottridge, Landon Caruch, Dylan Stanley,
and Donzell Newland. And his receivers will be Jackson Zickafus, Levi,

(30:37):
Bean Jack Welsh. We'll also see Braden Harsha and Jacob Renner.
First play is going to be a hand off to Braden.
He's got some room on the right hand side. He
gets all the way down to the secondary before he
is hit, and he gets it into Westfall territory at
the forty one yard line and quickly Uniodo goes.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Right back to the line of scrimmage. Yeah, just an
off tackle run there and pulled the guard from the
opposite side and line did a really good job of
creating space and Braiden with a nice run well.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Even if you kneoda try to, it looks like one
of their players is on the field right now. It
looks like an offensive lineman down for the Shermans. But
again the Sherman's trying to go quick there on the
offense to catch Westfall off guard. But now here you've
got west Fall able to huddle up a little bit
as well as Unioto. As soon as we get who

(31:29):
that player is on the ground, we'll let you know.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
I think that's actually Cody Braiden lou.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
All right, So that's that's something that is very important
for the Unioda Shermans because we were just talking to
coach about Ty Woods and not being in the game.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Yeah, Ty Woods unfortunately has dealt with all kinds of
injuries the past couple of years and that's really limited
as playing time. You know, for a kid that they
expected a lot out of, he just hasn't been able
to stay healthy. So certainly with with Braiden, you want
to see him healthy and finishing this game. So again,

(32:05):
he just had a run of about was that twelve yards?
Twelve yards? So on his first thing, he's going to
be helped off the field.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
It looks like maybe a ankle or knee injury there
to the left one. He's trying to put some pressure
on it, but he is going to be helped off
the field. So we'll hope we'll see him back in there,
especially on Senior night. Looks like we see number thirty
five into the game for the Shermans. That is Henry Valette. Again,

(32:33):
he is taking his time getting off the field, really
walking on that lake gingerly. And again first play from
scrimmage offensively to possibly lose your top tailback. And again
we were talking about, you know, top three tailbacks in
the league. You have Joey Wright from West Fall, you
have Brayden, and you also have Bryce Johnson from Zane Trace.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah, we'll look at their stats as this game goes on,
but those three, you have to figure are the three
guys that are kind of been the running for back
of the of the year in the SVC.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
So we'll see how that affects the play calling here
of Youni Yodo. As Isaac Kry comes to the line
of scrimmage, he has Vallett behind him. He waits a snap,
hands off to Vallette. He's trying to go around the
right hand side. He's going to be stopped after and
actually pushed or pulled forward by the defense, and he's
going to go about out of bounce at about the

(33:24):
thirty six yard line for a time.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Kids about a gain of five. Yeah, really nice job
of not conceding on that play, keeping the legs moving
and making sure you're falling forward. So nice first carry
by Henry the Lett. Yeah, nice speed there.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
He was able to break it outside too, maybe where
Braden would have stuck that inside, Ballette went a little outside.
So here we are with second and four again, hand
off the vallet right up the middle.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
He tries to bounce into the outside. This time he's going.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Backwards and he's going to lose possibly two on that one.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
That's going to bring up a third down and five.
And I think if you're west Fall, this is kind
of how you have to approach this defensively. You've got
to stop the UNI O to rushing attack first and
then try to adjust to the passing game that west
Fall defense.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Defensive line Dominic Andrea Russ, Callahan, Mason Alderman, and Ethan Rose.
Linebackers Eli Right, Joey Right, Rick Handley, their leading tackler,
and Quinn Everley defensive backfield Aiden Daniels, Carson Deskins and
Cayden Mercurio. So coy look at the splits on the
offensive line there. They're really spread out this and I

(34:36):
don't know if coach hoops like, wait a second, what
are we doing here? But he calls a quick time up.
So that's interesting to see. Uh, I've not seen them
line up.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
No, at least a good two people you could fit
in in between. Maybe. Yeah, that was interesting. You know,
back to the discussion about the running backs, Loo, all
three of them are really neck and neck. You got
Joey right from west Fall. He has two hundred and
ten yards, fifteen touchdowns, nine point nine yards per carry.

(35:11):
Then you know Bryce Johnson from Zane Trace eighty two yards,
seventeen touchdowns, ten yards per carry. And then Cody Brayden
and twenty six yards, twenty one touchdowns and eleven point
two yards per carry. So those three have been fantastic
this year. They sure haven't.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
We've seen them all and I don't know if I
want to attack then he won o those three. So
again we're looking at a third down and five here
for you to yodo at the West Fall thirty six
yard line is Coy awaits the snap, He's got two
running backs ahead of him, one behind him. He throws
it quickly out to Jackson zickafoo. He makes the first

(35:49):
guy missing. He's going down the sideline. He's going to
get it all the way to the end zone. Four touchdown.
That is a thirty six yard touchdown pass from Coy
to Jackson Zikapoos.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
And that was all zickapoos as he made that first
guy miss. Yeah, it was just a really nice quick move.
The guy was not able to bring him down, and
then it was off to the races. And when that happens,
most of the time you're not going to catch Jackson
zicka foose. And again that was just.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Sort of a different formation for Unioto as they lined up.
Leam Matthey comes in for the extra point attempts.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
And Bryce Starringdrew to hold.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
So here we go with a snap and the hold
is down and the kick is up and good. So
with eight twenty one to go here in the first quarter,
it is Unioto seven and Westfall nothing. You're listening to

(36:46):

This is Hometown High School football Coverage four Country WKKJ.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
You Knodo's kickoff goes all the way down to the
fifteen yard line, where Aiden Daniels does a great job
coming up the left hand side and made a couple
of guys miss and was able to get all the
way up to the west Fall forty seven yard line
or forty eight yard line. We'll they'll take over in
their second offensive possession.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, I thought that was actually a really good kick.
It hung in the air for a long time, but
Daniels is able to find a crease and kind to
sneak up the sideline almost to midfield.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
So we'll see how Westfall adjusts here on their second
offensive possession. See if they can't get a little drive
going here with good field position. So they break the
hudder Quinn Everley in the backfield with Joey right behind him.
Joey right now moves up next to him on the
right hand side, Eli right in motion, and they're going

(38:54):
to get offensive illegal procedure there on the tight end.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
Yeah, tight end just jumped a little bit there.

Speaker 21 (39:00):
I'll start.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
First down, so that'll move them back five here to
start this drive.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
And again that was the tight end for West Fall.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
So west Falls now starts from their forty three yard line.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Well for a team like west Fall that just really
needs to be able to run the ball effectively, you
hate to see your your your guys start off on
with first and fifteen year.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
So every awaits a snap with right next to him.
Beverly keeps it this time, and he has met quick
in the backfield there as he had a nice fake.
But that is number fifty or eighty six, That is
Ta Kwon James for Uniodo with a nice defensive play.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Yeah, Everally looked like he wanted to hand off, pull
it up, pull it away at the last second when
he looked a run up field. There wasn't much space there.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
So that'll bring up a second down in fifteen for
west Fall. And again it's quarterback going all the way
over to the sideline to get to play.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
There no.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Signaling in or anything, so it is going to take
them some time. They're already under ten on the play clock.
As Everley awaits his snap with right next to him
on his right, one receiver to the left, one of
the right. Every throws back that is caught by number
twenty three landing spark. He gets upfield and makes two
guys miss. He's going to get into Uniota a territory.

(40:25):
He's gonna get very close to that first down line
to gain. So that's a gain of fourteen. I think
he's just gonna be short, probably.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Less than a yard. Yeah, really nice design play there.
It looked like they were gonna roll out to the right,
set up the screen back to the left side, and
Sparks was able to get upfield and get close to
the first down here.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Yeah, and again you talked about, you know, offensive view
for them. Now they're only in a third and one,
which is very doable. So he's gonna go under centers
to have Eli right and Joey right behind him.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Takes a snap, turns.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
And gives it Eli right on a quick hitter and
he's going to get a good four yards on that one.
That'll be a first down inside the forty yard line
of the Uniodo Shermans for Eli right.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yeah, just a little fullback dive there up the middle.
Eli Wright's a big, strong kid and he's able to
go get those tough yards up the middle.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
So here we go with Westfall trying to get Unioto
off tempo as they go right to the line of
scrimmage and again in the same formation, two receivers here
to the left, Eli and Joey right in the backfield.
Now they look over the sideline for that play call.
Coaches going through their pages of plays and they decide.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
On one and get it signaled in. It's fake tempo there, Lou,
That's what that was.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
So Quinn Everley now toss out here to the left
side for Joey right, he's got some room makes the
first guy. That was a good collision there, and he's
going to get a gain of about Let's give him six.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
Yards on that, bring up a second down and four. Yeah,
I couldn't look like Jackson Zukerfus really kind of laid
his body in there and was able to slow Joey down.
That is two guys that can go full board at
each other and a good thing.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
There is no one in between them. So we'll make
it a second and five. We'll give him five on
that play. But again, a good first down play for
Westfall is a you don't want to stay on what
we say that on schedule schedule there we go, I
don't have a schedule when you were to No, you
don't all right, So Quinn Eberley waits for this nap,

(42:42):
and again we're going to get a time out here
by west Fall. And again this is one of those
things where you're trying to answer a touchdown by Unioto.
So you want to make sure you have good opportunity here. Yep,
you want to make sure everybody's on the same page.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
Absolutely, this is a Again it feels weird to say
this midway through the first quarter, but this is an
important drive for west Fall. You don't want to get
into a situation where you get down by a lot
and then have to start throwing the ball. It's not
who you are, it's not what you want to do.
So if you want to give yourself a chance to
win this game, this drive right here is really important
to go get six.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
And again you can see how many for this game
is for both coaches. Both of them have already used
the time out here in the first quarter, with five
pointy eight to go here in this quarter.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
So again I think you're.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Going to still see the right show and every he
does a really good job of baking some of those
handoffs and keeping in themselves and finding some openings. But
I think you got to stay with that running game
and not worry about that pass absolutely. So as they
break the huddle and come ready to get the snap.

(43:50):
Here it's going to be a second down and five
from the thirty four yard line of the Unioda Shermans
is Westfall. You have everly in the backfield with rights
on both side. Joey right now goes in motion. Quick
toss to Eli right, getting him outside, and he is
going to get a gain of about three and the

(44:15):
nice defense stopped out there by Judah Zikafus. He's going
to bring up a second down or a third down
and two.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
Yeah, a little different look there. They you know, sent
Joey out in motion, so he was out of the backfield.
But then little pitch play to to Eli right and
and if this is what you know, if you're west
Fall and you're gonna a team that's gonna run ninety
percent of the time, you have to find ways to
give different looks in the running game.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
So we come out here, we're gonna get every a
little closer to line of scrimmage there with the rights
on each side of him. Quick hand off the Joey
right around the right hand side and he's going to
get through there for the first down, and he's going
to get a gain of about four on the play
all the way down to the twenty seven yard line.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Well, if you're Westfall, this is where you just have
to stay patient, right. You know, it doesn't always feel
great after a three or four yard game, but in
this kind of game that can be exactly what gets
you to the next play, which allows you to get
to the next play, which gets you a first down.
So you just have to stay patient and keep doing
what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
And again, there's no hurry here. You just answer the
call here by u niodo with a score. It doesn't
matter if it happens right now or if it happens
five minutes from now.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
On the second quarter, no question, you'd almost prefer to
take as much time as you can evererly. Hand off
now to Eli.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
Right, he gets right in the middle and there as
a scrum right now, but he's five yards down.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
The field before that happens. Wow, and he's going to
get more yardage out of that.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
That's going to be about a gain of seven, bring
up a second down in three.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
Yeah. Again, as a as a physical kid, he's going
to take a lot of hits, but he's going to
deliver a lot as well. That was a case where
a lot of guys were hanging on as he refused
to go down.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, you'd like to see that as you and I
mean game cackling. There were seven yards down the field. Again,
west Fall taking their time as every gets to the
huddle now to make the play call, and they'll break
it with ten seconds ago on the play clock. Second
and three from the twenty one yard line. Every under

(46:26):
center rights behind him, turns, throws it back to Joey're right,
he's going around the right hand side.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
He's not going to.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
Get up for the first down, and it looks like
he just gets back to the line of scrimmage bringing
up a third down now and three.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Yeah, we're going over five minutes now on this drive
for west Fall. So you've done everything you wanted to do.
Now it's a matter of being able to finish this off.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
So coach stipp gets to play into Eperley as he
comes now to the huddle. But again those Juneota Sherman
defenders are all within seven yards of the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
There no one really deep got one receiver way out
here to.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
The left hand side, Eli and Joey right behind every
fake hand off going downfield, and looks like the receiver
may have run a wrong route there looking for Ethan
Rose there the tight end going down the field, he
broke towards the middle instead of going straight.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
Yeah, I think he probably had him open across the middle.
But there's obviously a situation where one guy thought one
thing and one guy thought the other.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
Well, looks like we're going to get a field goal
attempt here by Carson Deskins, and this is going to
be a thirty seven yard fueld goal attempt for the
west Fall Mustangs. Here on fourth and three from the
twenty one yard line. There's a snap, the hold and Deskins.

Speaker 3 (47:59):
Kicking is just a little bit low, just a little
bit low.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
So that is no good for the west Fall Mustangs
as we turn it over and now on downs to
Uniodo and it should be Uniodo ball at the.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
Twenty yard line.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Nice drive there by west Fall, again not able to
come away with any points, but nonetheless time off the
clock with two nineteen to go here in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
Well, not putting any points on the board here makes
this defensive possession and really really critical.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
So we're gonna get the spread offense again. Here is
the linemen are well spread out. Corey back to pass.
He looks out here, that's Levi Beam. Beam catches it.
He's up to the thirty yard line where he's going
to be brought down by a host of west Fall
Mustangs as he's taken out of bounce at the thirty

(48:55):
yard line. Will make it the thirty one because they're
gonna give him the first down.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Well, Westfall's playing kind of a really softes zone coverage
right now and u Yoda's just taking advantage of it,
getting some quick hitters on the outside.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Well, it looks like you've changed the offense here a
little bit with coach Shodi Braden out of the game.
Here Koy gets a snap and we're going to get
a flag and that's going to be a legal procedure
on the Chermans.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
So you got five wide receivers into the game right now.
Nine rushed down with David Long as a running back
back there with Isaac Cooy, Well, Unioda making a concerted
effort here to pick up the pace. They don't want
to play a six possession game here. They want to

(49:42):
get this thing going quickly out to the right to
Jackson Zikafous.

Speaker 2 (49:46):
He's going to get upfield to basically the line where
they or the amount of that they lost on the
penalty to bring up a second town to ten. As
they get ready to run the next play, three receivers
to the left, one to the right. Corey back to
pass quickly looking for somebody, sees nobody.

Speaker 3 (50:04):
He takes off. He's up to the thirty.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Five to the thirty nine yard line where he goes
out of mountains.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Nice job of standing Bolton to play by Jack Welch
on the outside, providing a nice block to spring Coy
to the outside. Coy is a good athlete. He can
make some things happen with his feet.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
That'll bring down a third and one from that thirty
nine yard line and again quickly go the Unioto Sherman's
coy wait to snap quickly right up the middle, following
David Long for that first down. He makes one guy miss,
but then he got a nice hit by the west
Fall Mustang's number fifty four by westfall In there on

(50:42):
the tackle and that was.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
Oliver Osborne. Yeah, just to design run play there for
Coy and did a really good job of just finding
the seam and hitting it.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
Three receivers to the right this time, one to the left,
way back to pass. He's looking looking going deep for
Jack Welsh and that's going to be knocked down by
number twelve and that is Aiden Daniels.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
Yeah, that uh, that was maybe trying to take a
little more than you needed to there that that was
well covered down the field and probably should have settled
for something underneath. He had Lee Levi Beam.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Going right across the middlefield wide open underneath and that's
probably where it should have gone with that one. So
that'll bring up a second down and ten. And now
Uniota is taking her time going into the huddle as
we run to the one oh four mark here of

(51:44):
the first quarter. Two receivers to the right, two to
the left, Levi Beam in motion. He throws it to
Lee B Beam, but we got it flagged on the
plate and we'll see what that is.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
Little little jet sweep there for beam. They Uniola likes
that play and they usually get some pretty good hunk
of it. That time. West Fall was ready for it
and an illegal shift on Uniodo.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
I believe the referee mentioned that not all players were
set prior to the motion.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Man going in motion, so that'll back it up five yards. Yeah,
they're gonna they're gonna take that. I don't even know
if you can decline that.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
So second and fifteen for the U NIODA Shermans And
again a lot of these different formations are formations that
West Paul may not have seen on film.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
So now you have three.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
Receivers to the left, Levi being coming in motion. This
time he's gonna know this is Jackson Zickafuse. He's going
to bring it to the right, tries to bounce it in,
makes one guy miss still going on the right hand
side here, and he's gonna be pushed out of bounce
at the west Fall forty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Yeah, again, just a jet sweep going the other way,
and Jackson Zickafus made some guys miss and was able
to pick up a nice game. It'll be a third
down and four at.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
The forty seven yard line of Westfall as we get
under twenty seconds go here in the first quarter three
and looks like we had a flag on the play.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
Sideline warning west Fall their.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
First So that'd be a sideline warning no penalty here,
but uh, we're gonna get one more play here in
the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
It looks like Koy waits a snap.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Two receivers to the left, one of the right back
to pass going deep to Jackson Zickerfoo's down the right
hand side, and that is thrown out of bounds. So
that'll bring up an interesting call here. You do a
play like that there, you know you're probably gonna go
for it on fourth down here with four point eight
seconds go in the first quarter, we're gonna get another play.

(53:50):
So fourth and three from the forty seven yard line
of West Fall is unido and looks like we're going
to get a play call.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Yeah, that was just a go route on the sideline.
Pretty good coverage by Duskins on the outside, but Zika
Fuz did have a step. If it would have been
thrown on target, you might have been a going to
bring it down, but it was out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
It's an interesting play call here for Unioto. With Cody
Brayden out of the game, Levi Beaman motion Cooy waits
a snap and try to draw him off sides. Maybe
the snap Koy back to pass looking downfield looking for
David Long, and it looks like he stepped out of bounce.

(54:33):
So David Long had stepped out of bounce before he
caught that ball. So that'll be a turnover on downs
for Westfall. Now they're going to get the ball at
their own forty seven yard line, the great field position,
and we're going to see what the start of the
second quarter. That first quarter was brought to you by
Cote loans by Jen. As we get ready to start
the second quarter, you're listening to the accurate heating, colleen

This is Hometown High School Football Cup on ninety four
Country WKKJA.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
Back to start the second quarter.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
It is West Fall's ball first and ten from their
own forty seven turn and hand off the Eli right.
First man up and he's going to get a quick
gain of four and he's going to get in the
Uniota territory at the forty nine yard line, so that'll
be a gain of three second and seven.

Speaker 3 (56:22):
Well, they're not really doing anything you fancy with Eli right,
it's just here's the ball, go up the middle and
fight for every yard you can get.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
And he's keeping the legs turning the old o high
Estate added three yards and a cloud of dust. Seems
to be working early here for Westwell, they just haven't
got any points on the board yet, so it looks
like Everley in the backfield has Eli on one side,
Joey right on the other side. Two receivers out here
to the right, Everly awaiting the snap that is Eli

(56:53):
right in motion, hands to Joey right right up the middle,
finding a little bit of an opening. He's going to
gain two and that is going to bring up a
third down and three for west Fall from the forty
six yard line of the Sherman's forty seven.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
I should say, well, you can tell that right now,
U Niodo is really keying on Joey Wright. Everything they're
doing is veered towards making things difficult for him. So
we'll see if west Fall continues to try to you know,
pound that action, or if they're gonna maybe try to
work things around a little bit.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
All right, So one one running back behind Everly, and
that is Joey right. This is a third down and
three turns hands off to Joey right right up the middle,
and he's going to get the first down. He's going
to get all the way down to the Uni Yodo
forty three yard line for a first down.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
West falls Dravis Bugain. Nothing fancy about that. It's just
put a hat on a hat and see if your
guy can go get a few yards. And Joey Wright
was able to do that there.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
So again they have had two nice little drives here.
No points yet, but again, keeping that uniodo offense on
the sideline is what Westfall really wants to do. Everly
in the backfield, with Eli or Joey Wright behind him,
two receivers out here to the right, snap every hands

(58:26):
off to Joey right to the left hand side.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
He's got an opening and he's on his way.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Jackson Tekers has a chance and he is going to
bring him down inside the ten yard line. So again,
nice gain of twenty almost thirty yards there on the
play by Joey Wright. Now to bring a first and
goal from the nine.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
Well, this is what you hope for in this kind
of rushing attack, right, You just keep pounding and pounding
and pounding and then hopefully you have a player like
Joey Wright who can maybe make a guy miss here
and there and then break one big.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
So there we go with a quick snap by west
Fall and hand off to Joey right trying to catch
catch Younoto off guard, but he's going to be stopped
right at the line of scrimmage. So second and goal
from the nine for west Fall. Now they're going to
take their time in the huddle. Second Yeah, another uh,

(59:20):
another long sustained drive here. They've they've dominated the time
of possession so far in this game, and that's exactly
what the game plan was coming in. So again you've
got to come away with points on this possession here,
no question if you're a west Fall nearing the nine
minute mark here in the second quarter, every away a
snap turns, fakes the right, he's going to his he's

(59:44):
going to be run out of bounce for a loss
as Quinn Everley as he tried to go to the
left hand side, and that's going to be all the
way back to the eleven yard line.

Speaker 3 (59:52):
They're going to give him.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
So a loss of a couple there for uh Quinn Everley,
and that'll bring up a third and goal from the eleven.
His second quarter is brought to you by chilling or
shine on Chilicothee dot org.

Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Well, they were trying to roll him out to the left,
and they were trying to get Eli right in a
situation where he was blocking and then releasing to go
with him. But the union of a guy in front
of him did a good job of keeping him in
front of him, and there was just nowhere to throw, so.

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Everley quickly into the huddle with the play one hundred
ten seconds here on the play clock down to five.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Already, see if they get it off.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
Everly waits a snap and just gets it off, turns
throws quickly to Eli right he's going into the end
zone for a touchdown. Eleven yard pass play from Quinn
Everley to Eli Wright gets Westfall on the scoreboard with
eight forty nine to go here in the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
That was a really good job of hanging in there
on that throw by Everly because he got popped as
soon as he threw it, but he delivered it on
time and on targets to Eli Wright, who made a
nice play to get into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
And again that was almost the same play they tried
to run on the other side of the field. This
time Eli Wright was able to get out to get
that pass Cartson Deskins in for the extra point attempt.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
It is up and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Barely makes it in, so again Deskins kick makes it
a seven to seven score here with eight forty nine
to go.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
In the second quarter. You're listening to the accurate heating.

His hometown high school football coverage on ninety four Country
w KKJ, so.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
Back at Uniota High School where it is seven to seven,
awaiting the kickoff from Carson Deskins for the Westfall Mustangs
back deep forward Unioto is Jackson zickerfus In Braden Harsha
As we now have a tie game here as we

(01:03:00):
are nearing midway through the second quarter. Deskin's kickoff is
a low dribbler and it's going to be taken by
the upman for Unioto Shermans. And again that was number
twenty one Jacob Brenner, who was able to corral that,
and it'll be first and tent for Unyodo at the
forty four yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
Well, I think if you're Uniota, this is a drive
where normally you would kind of re establish the run,
get Cody Brayden going again. But based on the way
he's moving on the sideline right now, I don't know
that we're going to see him anytime soon.

Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
So again we're going to see this spread package by
the Uniota Shermans offensive lineman not quite as wide right
now as they had been, but there is still now
multiple receivers. You do have a running back next to
Koy and Levi beam in motion. Koy keeps it and
he's trying to find some Rim does a nice job

(01:03:58):
a sidestep in a couple of plays gets up the
field for about seven yards on that play, So good
run there by Isaac Koy.

Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
Yeah, he's been a really effective runner tonight. Three carries
for twenty three yards, staying patient, not trying to hit
the holes too early. And is somebody they're gonna lean
on here?

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Yeah, and again it's probably somebody that Westwall is not
having somebody eye when you're coming into this game. He
has not shown that he does a lot of running.
But now with Cody Brayden out and it looks like
Braydon Harsha in the backfield. Now for the UNI of
the Shermans, so Koy and Harsha in the backfield, Koy

(01:04:39):
faint handoff and again he's gonna run again around the
right hand side, and I think I saw.

Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
A flag thrown umber ye and no there was no flag.

Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
So that's gonna be a first haven for Unioda Sherman's
nice to play there again by Isaac Coy.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
I'm not sure that was a designed player for Koy.
I think was thinking he was gonna hand it off
to Harshaw. Harshell went the other way, and I think
he just pulled it and made an athletic play well
went in.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
Doubt, just go up the field, and he did go
north and south. He got the first down. It's at
the forty yard line of west Fall. So again you're
talking about that running attack. They're getting it Es Sabage
here with the quarterback right now, Yeah, they are. So
Koy waits a snap, Levi beam in motion passes Koy
and now we're going to get illegal procedure on Nioto.

Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
It's all we'll start a fresh number ten Firebilly.

Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Rents first down.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
That motion takes a long time as he comes across there,
and then he gets reset again and get some movement
there by some of the other people. So bringing down
a first and fifteen now from the forty five of
west Fall.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Yeah, that's that's three penalties here in the early going
for you, Yodo got to clean that stuff up, and
not only for this week, you get into week eleven,
week twelve. Those are the kind of penalties you can't
afford to have.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
And again, it's just, you know, it looks like a
I'm sure they work on this type of offense in practice,
but so Koy now Levi beaman motion again turns hands
off this time as Henry Levette or Henry Vallette around
the right hand side. He's gonna get about a gain
of four. We'll give the four, bring up a second

(01:06:25):
down and eleven for the Union service.

Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
Yeah, a lot of action going on. They're they're utilizing
a lot of motion here right now, and ended up
just handing it off to Vallett going off the right side,
picked up four. As you said, lou So, again, they're
not a no huddle.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
They're huddling up after each play, but then they're coming
out of that quickly and going right up. So this
time we're going to see Koy under center with long
and Harsha behind. Hands to Harsha trying to get to
the outside to the left. He does have an opening,
he does break through. He's down to the twenty yard
line where he's going to be brought down by number

(01:07:04):
four for West Bawl Wyatt Ward.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
Yeah, I didn't think he had any chance of getting
outside when he first got the ball, but that's an
athletic play by Brandon Harsha and was able to beat
everybody to the outside there.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
And again showed his speed to get to the outside
and once he saw an opening, he broke it right
up in there. So first and ten from the twenty
yard line for you and Yodo coy again under center,
tosses back to hars show this time again he's got
an opening.

Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
He's down the field and he's before he's touched.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
He gets ten yard Now he's twelve yards down the
field inside the ten yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Brings up at first and goal. Well, that was just
really good blocking by the line right there. There was
all kinds of space. He didn't get touched until he
got tripped up twelve yards down the field. So really
good job by that offensive line of you, Yodo.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Yeah, everything it seems like right now is to the outside.
They're trying to bounce everything out to the outside, use
their speed to get there and finding some opening. So
back in the pistol formation is Koi Levi beaman motion
and off the harsher around the right hand side. He's
going to be met at the line of scrimmage. He

(01:08:15):
does not go down, but boy, he was met there
hard at the lefts the right sideline and he's going
to get to about the five yard.

Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
Line, so that'll bring up the second and goal from
the five. Yeah, Wyatt Ward there for Westfold did a
nice job of meeting and wasn't able to bring him
down initially, but it slowed Horsha down enough that allowed
everybody else to catch up.

Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
So second and five from the five yard line or
the second goal, I should say, as we go under
five minutes now for this second quarter, Uniota breaks the huddle.
We're gonna have Harsher right next to Koi in the
backfield to his left. Koy fake hand off to Harsha

(01:08:58):
looking downfield down field, finds an open Jackson tick of
Foods for the touchdown, a five yard touchdown pass from
Isaac Coy to Zicka Foods for the second time tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Well, Jackson was wide open. And if there's one guy
on the UNIODA team on a pass play that I'm
gonna make sure I guard, it's gonna be Jackson Zickafus.
So I'm not sure what happened there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
So Liam and Matthey for the extra point attempt. There
goes the snap, Darren jer with a hold and the kick.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
And it is good. So with that, the score now
is the.

Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
Uniodo Sherman's fourteen and Westfall seven.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
Nice answer there by, Uniodos, Yeah, really nice answer. And
if you're a Westfall again, it feels like I'm a
broken record right now, but this becomes a really important
possession because coming out of halftime, Unioda is gonna to
get possession first. So again, you don't want to put
yourself in a situation where you're allowing you and you know,
to get out in front by multiple scores.

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
So at the five point thirty two mark, we're going
to await the kickoff of Liam Matthew. Around the SBC. Tonight,
you have Phyton at Huntington. Huntington trying to get into
the playoffs and have their first seven.

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
Win season and what was it almost twenty years Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Yeah, for the Huntsman Adina at Zane Trace st Trace
already in the playoffs as they awake their opponent for
Week eleven, Southeastern at Payne Valley and also on our
sister station WBEX is Chilligabi at Jackson.

Speaker 28 (01:10:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
So Huntington, I believe they've won seven games two other
times in school history and that is the program record.
So for the Huntington kids, that would be a chance
to to own a piece of school history if they
were able to get a win tonight, and it would
almost certainly propel them into the playoffs next week.

Speaker 2 (01:11:06):
And again you can check all those scores out on
our scoreboard page brought to you by Mill City Apparel.
And that kickoff goes all the way in the end
zone for Leam Mathey. Great stat here, Liam Mathey has
had fifty what is that now, fifty three kickoffs fifty
four kickoffs this year, twenty one touch tracks.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
That's not bad, That's not bad at all.

Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
So west Fall is going to take over at their
own twenty yard line here with four thirty two to
go in the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
Now for Westfall, this is not a must, not a
musk score.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
But again, if you can take the rest of the
time off here for this first half, that'll.

Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
Be a plus. At the very least. You can't go
three and out here and give you need another chance
to score.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
So as they break the huddle, you have Joey right
behind Everly in the pistol formation, one receiver to the left,
one to the right, and Eli Mote or Eli right
goes in motion to the left, turn hand to Joey right.

Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Joey right up four about a game up too. As
he went up the.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Left hand side of the offensive line. It looks like
they're gonna get now we're gonna give him two. So
bring up a second down and eight for Westfall. And
again no hurry to get to the line at.

Speaker 21 (01:12:21):
The cermits.

Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Seven.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
As Quinn Everley now gets to the huddle to call
to play. And as they break the huddle, you're gonna
come with Joey right next to Quinn Everley, this time
one receiver left one of the rights, and then we're
gonna get a motion man to the right hand side.
Everley back to pass, throws back and that is number

(01:12:48):
twenty seven, I believe.

Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
For westfall, and that is Ricky Hanley. Well again rolled
out to the right side, but set up the screen
on the on the left side and threw it back.
And I thought Henley had had a lane to the middle,
but he tried to cut it back outside and was tackling.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
So that'll bring up a third down and two from
the twenty eight yard line. And again that was number
twenty three Land and sparks on that. I'm sorry evererly
with Joey right next to him, snap hand off to
Joey right right up the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
And oh, it's gonna be close. You're really close.

Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
I don't think they're going to give it to him.
We're gonna get a time out call here by Unioto
and he is not to the thirty and it's two
fifty nine to go here in the corner. So if
you're westfall here fourth in less than one yard, what
do you do?

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Yeah, this is an interesting call. I I don't know
that you want to put yourself in a position where
you k it away and give you Yodo a chance
to score here. I think I probably go for it.
It's it's a half yard probably, so I think you again,
you're you're the underdog. You're on the road. Roll the

(01:14:14):
dice and see if you guys can go get a
half yard. So we'll see what both coach, I don't
deliver at the concept you you do not.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
It's easy to say that when we're sitting up here,
nice somewhat cozy passbox. Yeah, they're getting great job here
by the Unio too athletic departments and uh Matt Combs,
the a D takes care of us here when we
come to Uniodo and tonight we were fed very nice.

Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
Yeah, Mark Trainor and the people from carls uh fix
some burgers for us, always treat us well, so.

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
Westwall comes out, Beverly is going to be under center,
and they're going to have that I formation with Eli
right and Joey right right behind him, and every maybe
trying to get him no quick snap Eli right, and
he's going to get the first down. He does make
it over the line of scrimmage as he dove into

(01:15:14):
the line, and that's going to be a first down
for Westfall now from the thirty yard line. So as
the clock continues to run, now under three minutes, two
fifty six to go, you have first and ten for Westfall.

Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
If you're west Fall, do you take a couple of
shots down the field here? I don't know that I
would yet. I think I'd probably take a little bit
more time off the clock first and then see where
we are at that point.

Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
Wheneverly under center turns, tosses to Joey right, Joey right
around the left hand side, he's met at the line
of scrimmage where he.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
Will be pushed back. That was Winegardner.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
And also number fifty seven Bryce Jarvis plus twelves.

Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Now for Joey Wright, I think we're gonna see a
lot more. But he's taken some shots on the last
few times that he's run the football, actually give him
a yard on that one. Bring up a second down
and nine.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
As Everley now in the pistol formation with one right
to the right, one right to the left, and two receivers,
one of the right and one to the left. Or
Joey Wright goes in motion, hand off the eli right
up the middle, he's gonna get gain up about two
right up to the thirty four yard line, and that'll

(01:16:37):
be third down and six with one or one thirty
nine to go here in the first quarter or second quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Yeah, get it now? I think maybe you take a shot.
Let the play clock go all the way down. It's
gonna leave you with just over a minute left, So
maybe take a shot here and see what you get.
You Only Union only has one time out remaining in
this half, so they don't have a ton of ways
to stop the clock.

Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
Five seconds ago here in the play clock whenever they
is still waiting, the call looks like when to get
a time out, Westfall, We'll take that time out with them.

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.

Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
Snapped the Everley. He's looking straight downfield. Oh that was close.
He was looking for number twenty three there landing Sparks
and somewhat a little contact early baby, I.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Think there was. I think there was, but didn't get called.
So now west Fall will bring the punt team out.
I would assume that'll bring a fourth down and six.

Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
So again, nice play downfield there, and he did have
an open man a little got behind the defensive, but
again no.

Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Call through a really nice there. That's the best I've
seen him throw it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Carson Deskins back to punt Jackson Zickafous back deep for Unioto.
Deskins gets a punt off, say, wobbly punt going to
hit the ground. Zickafoos gets it. He's coming up the
left hand side. He's going to now try to go
the right. Nope, he's going to go straight. He's still going.
He's still going down the left hand sideline and he
gets out of bounce at the thirty two yard line

(01:19:27):
of west Fall is Jackson Zickapoos and he'll bring up
a first down with forty eight seconds ago. Nice ship
he moves there by Jackson Zickapoos to get U Niyodo
in scoring opportunity. Remember they have a really good kicker
in Liam Mathey.

Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
Yeah they do. They're not far from being in field
goal rains already, so.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
They're gonna market at the thirty one yard line of
West Fall. Now they moved it back a little bit
more between the thirty one and thirty two.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
Well, two things. I know, I'm not gonna leave Jackson
Zika Fu's opening the end zone and I'm not gonna
punt it to him either.

Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
So Isaac Corey the lone man in the backfield waiting
to snap. Four receivers to the or yeah, four receivers
to the right, one to the left, and that's actually
Fou's on the left. Coy looking downfield trying to find somebody,
throws back here to the left to a wide open
Braidon Harsha, who's going into the end zone for a touchdown.
Thirty one yard passed from Isaac Coy's to Braidon Harsha

(01:20:32):
for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
Yeah, Koy was rolling out to the right side, didn't
see anything he liked, and eventually turned back to his
left and saw harsh open and Braiden did the rest.

Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
So all through the air tonight for Uniodo here with
their three touchdowns, and again that was a thirty yard
pass from Koi to Harsha as Liam Matthey comes on
for the extra point and the snap hold and kick

(01:21:04):
is good and with thirty eight seconds go here in
the first half, it is now UNIODO twenty one and
west Fall seven.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Well, that sequence was about as unfortunate as it could
be for west Fall, allowing the deep punt return and
then you Nyoda coming back right away with a thirty
one yard strike.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Yeah, I think you know, again, we had talked about
as we were driving over, probably don't want to punt
to Zuckafousa. Yeah, yeah, you know, they tried to punt
him away from him, but he was able to get
that in a good good job by him and going
and getting the ball, not allowing it to keep bouncing,
but he put them into position for that and they
scored right away there on that play. That They've had

(01:21:54):
three scoring opportunities. One was a four play drive and
the other one, this one was a one.

Speaker 3 (01:22:00):
You know, Jackson ziggfus Is is the poster child for
you don't need to specialize in one sport. This is
a kid that is a phenomenal football player. He's a
really really good basketball player. He was on the team
that made it to the state final four in baseball, Like,
if you're a good athlete, go out and play every
sport you can. You get one chance at this in

(01:22:21):
your life. And there's nothing like being a part of
a locker room with the with the other guys on
your team.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
And again well said, and again what he brings is
just enthusiasm and he goes hard.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Yeah three times he's question about that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:38):
So as Matthew gets ready to kick off, you have
Quinn Everley back, and that is who's going to receive
this at the five yard line. He's up to the ten,
gets to the fifth run out of the fourteen yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
There was a pretty obvious hold there on that return
that didn't get But I would suspect that west Fall
is just gonna take a knee here, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:06):
So with thirty three seconds to go here in the
second quarter and the ball sitting at the fifteen yard line,
west Fall comes on to the field with their offense.

Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
Maybe you take a chance throw a screen past year
to one of your running backs and they give them
a chance to make a play. You just can't. You
can't turn it over. And again.

Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Reminder that Unioda won the toss and deferred to the
second half, so they're going to get the ball coming
out of halftime. So as west Fall breaks the huddle,
you have every with Joey right behind him, two receivers
out here to the left hand side, snap hands to

(01:23:54):
Joey right. He goes up the middle, finds a little
bit of an opening. He's going to get all the
way out to the five yard line and that should
be enough for first down if they check it off,
and we're going to get a flag thrown here for
some maybe some extracurricular activity. As the officials now gathered

(01:24:20):
to try to figure out what they're going to do here,
I did think Westfall called a time out.

Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Yeah, I believe you're right. I think they they did,
But as the timeout was called, there was still some
extracurriculars going on on the other side of the field.
So we'll see what the officials sort out here. So
we'll get the call here, charge time out. Westall their
bottle time out. We have dead ball eight six, dead

(01:24:54):
ball five seventy four companies offset down.

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
So we had offsetting personal fouls by both teams. So
they did not give him the first down. They marked
him just short of that. So to bring up a
second down in one and as you may have heard,
west Wall did call a time out. So that's what
we are in the midst of right now with twenty
five point two to go here in the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
You know one thing that we've that we've seen, you
know against U Niota, and this is I think our
fourth time covering them, is when you have those opportunities,
you have to take advantage of them. Uh. You know
Zane Trace when they played Zane Trace, they you know,
Zaane Trace had that long drive at the beginning of
the game and just wasn't able to capitalize. Uh, same

(01:25:48):
same way with with west Falls drive tonight. When you
when you're able to put together those seventy eighty hour drives,
you've got to be able to to uh capitalize with
points at the other end.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
So as west Fall comes out on the field, you
have Everly with Joey right behind him in the backfield,
the screenplay to Joey right here. Nope, hand off to
Joey right right up the middle. He's not going to
get the first down and it's going to bring a
third down and one. As the clock continues running, I
think that's going to be the last play we're going

(01:26:23):
to see right and as west Fall allows that clock
to run out again. We've got a lot of talking
back and forth by both teams, so probably a good
time to take a break and again at halftime. Your
score is Unioto twenty one and west Fall seven. You're

that with Tim Streed from the OHSAA when we come

Hometown high school football coverage continues. Today's game is presented
by accurate heating, cooling, and plumbing on ninety four Country WKKGA.

Speaker 41 (01:29:49):
Welcome back into the halftime huddle. My name's Todd Walker.
Good to be your host here. On iHeartRadio. Of course,
a lot of talk in the last couple of weeks
about name, image and likeness coming to the state of Ohio.
Of course, there was a lawsuit filed and now a
temporary restraining order has been issued by a judge. Thus
the student athletes are at least for now allowed to

(01:30:12):
be compensated for their name, likeness and image on the
high school level in Ohio, while the OHSAA, in response
to the lawsuit and the tro will now hold an
emergency vote on a new by law dealing with NIL.
If the membership votes in favor of a proposal, it
would allow the OHSAA member schools to shape the NIL

(01:30:34):
by law. If schools do not vote in favor of
the referendum, the lawsuit and the future of NIL in
Ohio will be determined by the courts. Tim Streed from
the OHSAA is with us to talk about NIL, not
just moving forward, but in the past, of course, there
was a measure voted on I believe a couple of
years ago to deal with NIL in Ohio. Member schools

(01:30:58):
voted that down more than two to one at the time.
To take us back to that in twenty twenty two.

Speaker 43 (01:31:05):
Sure, Hey Todd, great to be with you, and you
are correct. A few years ago, our schools voted down
our first NIL by law proposal. Several reasons for that.
Number one, I think in the biggest reason is that
NIL was still somewhat new at that time, especially in
the high school states. But number two, I think the
proposal at that time was a little clunky. I think

(01:31:28):
it was a little more difficult. We maybe made it
more difficult than we needed it to be. But I'll
tell you what since then, Wow, the landscape in NIL,
even at the high school level, has really changed.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
You are correct.

Speaker 43 (01:31:42):
Ohio is currently one of only six states that does
not allow it. I think that's the biggest piece of
information we've tried to get out, is that Ohio is
in a small minority of states that does not allow it.
And it was really only a matter of time until
a high profile too an athlete challenged us on that
in court.

Speaker 41 (01:32:03):
So now moving forward, you already had a new by
law about NIL set to be voted on that would
make it legal.

Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
For lack of a better description, is that what was
going to be voted on in May.

Speaker 43 (01:32:17):
Correct, we had a proposal put together that our board
of Directors did approve, that would have gone to our
membership in May for them to vote on. It would
have been our second nil referendum proposal, a little simpler,
I think, a little better worded than the first one
we did a little while back. So we were ready

(01:32:38):
to roll that out with an announcement that you know,
to the public and to our schools that we're going
to be bringing you another nil proposal in May. However,
we've known for a while now, I mean probably back
to the summer that one of a handful of high

(01:33:00):
profile student athletes may file a lawsuit prior to our
schools voting on it in May. It almost happened back
in August with a girls basketball player, but that one
did not get filed, and it was only a matter
of time until one of them did. And that's one
of the things I want to stress is that we

(01:33:22):
have spoken with a lot of the student athletes. We've
worked with several of their attorneys. One of the attorneys
quoted yesterday as a friend of ours. We have spoken
with him a lot on this topic, and it's not
an adversarial situation. We want to work together with them
on this. We want to be able to shape the
by law the way our member schools want it to look.

(01:33:44):
So that's really the next step at this point.

Speaker 41 (01:33:48):
So this lawsuit maybe forced your hand to make a
vote earlier than you would in your normal process, but
it's not necessarily the thing that's spurring you toward making
an IL legal.

Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
That's pretty much been happening right right.

Speaker 43 (01:34:03):
You know, all across the country. NIL is permitted at
the high school level and at the course at the
college level. That's where it really all started. But we
were going to put this back up to our member
schools to vote in May, and this lawsuit, as we've
known for a while now, a lawsuit could force our

(01:34:23):
hand to have our schools vote on it sooner. And
that's where we find ourselves now, Tim.

Speaker 41 (01:34:28):
You mentioned the other states, forty four of them allow it.
But what's some of the feedback of the pitfalls of
NIL at the high school level that maybe you're trying
to guard against with your bylaw.

Speaker 43 (01:34:40):
Now, sure, you know, there's been a lot of feedback
from other states. Throughout this past calendar year. We've talked
to a lot of those states, and most of the
states it's been interesting. Most of the states have said
they have not had issues. Most of the states have
said a low number of of their student athletes receive.

Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
An NIL deal.

Speaker 43 (01:35:04):
So we're not we have not heard the overly negative stories.
We haven't heard, you know, the nightmares that we've seen
at the college level. I think one of the big
differences between what we see at the high school level
and the college level is that at the college level,
they form collectives and the universities pay the student athletes directly.

(01:35:25):
In most cases, that would not be the case at
the high school level. At the high school level, NIL
is as student athlete endorsing a product or doing a commercial,
signing autographs, making an appearance, those types of things.

Speaker 11 (01:35:40):
It's not.

Speaker 43 (01:35:42):
In a lot of ways, it's not similar to what
we're seeing at the college level. The things that we
do need to keep an eye on, though certainly, our
transfer by law is still very much in effect, will
continue to be very much in effect even if NIL passes,
and so we all are recruiting by law. Even if
we do have NIL in Ohio, we still have the

(01:36:04):
transfer regulations and there still is not recruiting permitted at
the high school level.

Speaker 41 (01:36:09):
In other words, we want to guard against the idea
of pay to play too right, That's correct.

Speaker 43 (01:36:15):
You know, we've seen it at the college level where
a star player is recruited basically all over again to
go to another school with the promise of more dollars
more nil money. We've seen that at that level. We
do not want to see that in any way at.

Speaker 27 (01:36:33):
The high school level.

Speaker 41 (01:36:35):
Tim, it sounds like your expectation is, whenever this is
put up for a vote by the member schools, this
is going to pass.

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
Is that your.

Speaker 43 (01:36:42):
Expectation, Well, it'll be really interesting vote, Todd. I think
I don't think it will be unanimous among our schools.
I think I do think the majority, even if it's
a small majority, of our schools, will agree that it
would be better for them to shape the bylaw and

(01:37:04):
let them approve the language, rather than let a judge
do it or the court system do it, where now
we lose all control over the language. So I you know,
and just in my conversations with schools, they realized that
it was only a matter of time till this came
to Ohio, and they would rather have some control over

(01:37:26):
the language than than letting it go. So I would
think that it would pass us for that reason. Although,
and this has been such an interesting process because our
schools are not asking and not pushing for ANIL. This
really has come from a very small number of high

(01:37:47):
profile student athletes. But the courts have spoken on this
topic many times, and the courts have always sided with
the student athlete.

Speaker 41 (01:37:57):
That's Tim Stred, the media relations director for the ohs

Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Welcome back to Uniudo High School where at halftime the
Union or Sherman's lead to west Fall Mustangs twenty one
to seven.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
And Andrew, I think that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
First half was going exactly how Westfall wanted it to
go until about that eight minute mark in the second
quarter where u Niyodo was able to get too late
scores to go up by the fourteen points.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
Well, it's like we talked about, when you're playing a
team that's as good and as deep as Unioto, when
you have opportunities, you have to capitalize on them. You know,
if they score a touchdown on that drive that they
had in the first quarter that was over six minutes long,
and if they were able to get six on that,
you know, now it's a one possession game heading into halftime,

(01:41:55):
and that feels very different than a two possession game
where you're a team that has to run the ball.
So you know, again it's just when you have those opportunities,
you have to take advantage of them.

Speaker 2 (01:42:06):
And again give credit to Unioda where you know, we
saw them in a game against bike and where right
before halftime, Pikedon was right there and then all of
a sudden, Uniodo scores a couple of times right before
halftime and blows it in wide op. Yeah, you got
to give credit to UNIODA for sure. Clark Kello calls
it spurt ability, right. They have the ability to score

(01:42:27):
a lot of points in bunches, and we've seen that
every time we've come and covered this team. They will
go through these stretches where maybe they don't score for
a while, and then all of a sudden, you look
up and they've scored two three touchdowns in the last
five minutes. And again they're doing it tonight. First play
in this game, Cody Brayden goes down and they've been

(01:42:47):
able to offensively put twenty one points on the board.

Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
What are some stats that stand out there in the
first half. Yeah, So for Uniodo, they were pretty balanced
in terms of passing and rushing. Rushing they had eighty
five yards and really utilized Isaac Coy in that rushing game.
He had four carries for twenty nine yards and Brandon
Harsha came in and had three carries for thirty six yards,
So getting some balance there. Passing, Isaac Coy was six

(01:43:13):
of nine for ninety eight yards. Jackson Zikafous was on
the receiving end of four of those passes for fifty
six yards west Fall, as you probably can guess, way
way more yards rushing than passing, they have did a
nice job. I think of mixing in some passes, you know,
just to keep the defense off balance. Rushing they have

(01:43:36):
eighty two yards, Joey Wright has sixty three of those,
and then passing Quinn Everly is three of five for
thirty one yards and Landing Sparks has two catches for
twenty yards.

Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
So again, when we come out here to start the
second half, and it's going to be Uni Yona's ball
as west Fall will be kicking off to them and
we will be right back with more of the halftime show,
the audio Technic halftime Report. You're listening to the acrid heating,

Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
Welcome back to Union at a high school again where
the halftime scores unionto sermons twenty one to seven over
the Westfall Mustangs. Looking around the SBC Tonight's and some
other games of interest. First, in the SBC, the pat
Valley Bearcats, looking for their first win of the season,
are up nineteen to seventeen or nineteen to seven over

(01:45:41):
the Southeastern Panthers.

Speaker 3 (01:45:44):
Piked in leading Huntington again.

Speaker 2 (01:45:46):
Huntington's a team that's trying to get into the playoffs
and get their seventh winn of this season.

Speaker 3 (01:45:53):
That would be a record time for their program.

Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
They trail piked in fifteen to eight in the second quarter,
and a Dina is down to Zane Trace twenty seven
to nothing at halftime. Other area games of interest on
our sister station wbe X, Jackson Ironman leave the lead
the Chilicott the Cavaliers fourteen nothing at the half. And

(01:46:19):
in a big Mid State league game, Circle Little Tigers
lead the Bloom Carrol Bulldogs thirteen to seven and that
game is at the half Andrew interesting things there as
we look at the some of those scores, and again
you look at the Huntington score, you know they're fighting

(01:46:40):
for to get.

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
Into the playoffs. Possibly with the loss they get in.

Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
But we have definitely three two teams in Unioto and
Zane Trace.

Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
Yeah, I think most teams are going to have an
opportunity to advance past that first weekend. Uniota is in
a situation where they may have a bye the in
you know, a week eleven, but then would certainly be
the higher ranked team in week twelve, and I would
have a chance to maybe go on a run. And
then Zane Trace I think as another team that I

(01:47:12):
don't think a lot of teams are gonna want to
play in the playoffs just because of their ability to
be physical and run the football. And yeah, then Huntington,
I think is a team that another team that could
be dangerous should they get in. I don't I don't
think a lot of teams are going to want to
line up to go against the Huntsmen. So it'd be

(01:47:32):
interesting to see what happens here and see how it
can shake out.

Speaker 2 (01:47:36):
And again, once we find out the playoffs, we'll let

Speaker 3 (01:50:10):
Point five.

Speaker 2 (01:50:14):
Yeah So as we get ready for the second half.
Andrew still kicking with our staying with our keys to
the game.

Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
Yeah, so you know, I think this is a situation
where it is a must. You have to get a
stop here for you're west Fall. If you go down
three scores against this offense, I don't see a routes
back to winning this game. So for west Fall, you
have to get a stop. You know you've done a
good job of limiting possessions for you, and you know
they only had four in the first half. The problem

(01:50:44):
is they scored all three of them. So uh so
you've got to get a stop here. Shoby Bradon is
running on the sideline. It looks like he has a
brace on, and we'll see if he's able to give
it to go here in the second half. I'd be
inclined maybe to not put him back out there for
this for tonight and maybe save him for the playoffs.

(01:51:06):
But we'll see what happens there.

Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
Yah, it looks like he's got a knee brace on,
so it looks like we're talking about possible ankle. Looks
like it's a little higher in the knee area. And again,
if you're up by two scores. You don't want to
push that even tonight. You may even get up eye
week where you can give him some more riss. So
we're getting ready here and the crowds getting excited, cheerleaders
are getting.

Speaker 3 (01:51:28):
It body pumped up as we get ready for the
second half.

Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
And again it's gonna be west Fall kicking off to
Unioto and that'll be tard Our, Carson Deskins and back
deep for the Unio Sherman's it's going to be Brandon
Harsha and Jackson Zikapoos.

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
Well, you got two more quarters of football here if
you're West Fall to try.

Speaker 2 (01:51:49):
To make your case to get into that playoff format
this year of the top twelve teams.

Speaker 3 (01:51:54):
Yeah, you think you're going to see a desperate, you
know team where it's willing to do anything here to
get a stop. But we'll see, we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
So it's going to start here with the second half kickoff.
We'll see the first kick off they had they tried
to go right at somebody in the front line and
maybe bounce it off of them.

Speaker 3 (01:52:12):
We'll see what we do here.

Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Carson Deskins approaches the ball, it's going to be hit
on the ground. It does hit somebody, but it is
going to be brought dead as it is fallen on
by the Unioda Shermans at his number twelve Levi beam.

Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
He goes down and gets the ball right up about
the thirty three yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
So that is where Unioda will take over sure, and
we'll see if they stick with that spread offense with.

Speaker 3 (01:52:36):
The five receivers.

Speaker 2 (01:52:39):
But Braydon Harsha did a good job running when he
came in there in the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
He really did. I think if you're west fall and
he's in the backfield now you have to kind of
set the edge and make him go up the middle
and you know, make him deal with with getting hit
a little bit. But they're going an empty backfield here.

Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
So empty backfield, you got three receivers to the left,
one of the right, should say ford to the left,
one of the right.

Speaker 3 (01:53:03):
It looks like we're going to get.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
Illegal motion or illegal formation from Unioto as they're pointing
around to different people that are lined up.

Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Again, they're still discussing. Then I remember fifty six was
out on the line turn five yard penalty, first down.
So again they go in with a little spread on
the offensive line. As well, and not everyone was up
where they needed to be.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
Coy in the backfield, he's being chased quickly and he's
going to throw the ball. I don't is that going
to be caught or he's going to be out of bounds,
sin somebody out of bounds by David long Ice Cats.
He got to it, but again he was out of bounds.
So nice pressure there by west Fall maybe something.

Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
They talked about. Yeah, brought the blitz up the middle there,
and uh, they were able to get to Koy quickly.
So he was just never able to really get his
feet set on the throw.

Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
And that's one of the things when you have those
wide formations that leads for gaps, and if you bring
a linebacker through one of those gaps, it's hard to
maybe knock him off of the line that he's going
after the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:54:08):
Yeah, I haven't seen them do this with the gaps
in the line like this. I wonder if this is
more of a put it on film for the other team.
You know, teams down the line.

Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
To have to prepare for a little closer formation here.
Coy under center's going to hand off the lee by
beam as he was in motion. Good job there by
the defense Number five, that's Quinn Everley, who did a
great job of stopping Levi Beam and making sure he
goes nowhere and he's going to gain about We'll give
him three yards on that. That's going to bring up
a quick third down and twelve.

Speaker 3 (01:54:40):
Yeah, if you're Westfall, you have to feel good about
how this drive has started and see if you can
get off the field here.

Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
So like third and twelve, as Uniodo breaks the huddle,
they're going to have two three receivers out to the right,
one receiver to the left. That Jackson Zickfusen is going
to have David Long in the back field with Isaac Cooy.

Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
Cooy going back to pass looking to the left.

Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
I need Levi Beam and it's a little too high
for him, and that brings up a four down at twelve,
and it looks like we're gonna see our first punt
probably Unioda Serman's tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Well, you couldn't have scripted it better. If you're west Fall,
you had to get a stop on that drive. You
couldn't allow Uniota to go down and get three scores
ahead because at that point the game is pretty much over.
So uh, west Fall did what they needed to do.
We'll see if they were able to capitalize on it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
Well, when I looked at the stats, David Long is
only punted four times this year. So this is a
point of the year coming up here for David Long.
He's back at his seventeen to receive this snap. Snap
is good kicked by David Long. Nice a good punt. Yeah,
it's going to hit at the thirty eight, gonna come

(01:55:54):
dead about the thirty three yard line of west Fall.
He probably doesn't have enough statsy get into the best
punter of the year, but again, that was a good
punt there by David Long. When west Fall now comes
out on their first offensive possession for the second half
at their own thirty three yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
Well, we'll see if west Fall kind of sticks to
the game plan here, just really trying to grind out
yards on the ground, or if they try to get
a little more creative. I think you're still the point
where got plenty of time here. You can still do
what you've been trying to do with just have to
make sure you get first down.

Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
So Everley in the backfield with Joey right right behind
him in the pistol formation, Eli Wright to the right
hand side up by the line of scrimmage, handoff to
Joey Wright. He skips one or makes one guy miss.
He gets down the field to about a gain of four.
Let's get him brings up a second down and six.

Speaker 3 (01:56:53):
That was a great tackle by David Long. Joey Wright
was coming right at him and he stood his ground
and up and pulled him down. It's not somebody usually
want to stand in front of but David Long did
a really good job of hanging in there.

Speaker 2 (01:57:07):
Yeah, if you can get him stopped where you get
his momentum stopped, then you can get some other guys
to help you out. But it's trying to get his
momentum stops is a hard thing. So second down and
six here for west Fall. Everly fake hand off to
Joey right, every keeps it this time he's going to
get up the.

Speaker 3 (01:57:23):
Field for you about a gain of three.

Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
So that'll bring up a third down and three from
the forty front yard line of west Fall.

Speaker 3 (01:57:33):
Well, as long as west Fall has been able to
stay on schedule here, they've been able to grind out
these three four yard games, and so they've been been
effective at getting first downs and staying on the field.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
And again, I think you're in four down territory here
if you're West fall right at the close to midfield,
that if you don't get it here on this down,
you might go forward out to four. So both rights
next to Everly in the backfield is he waits to
snap hands off to Joey Wright who's going up the middle,

(01:58:05):
and he's still moving forward, still moving.

Speaker 3 (01:58:07):
Then he's going to get the first down. He's going
to get. Probably we're going to give him again to
eight on that one. Well, he was hit right about
the light of trivage and then his offensive line came
in behind him and just pushed and didn't stop pushing him.

Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
Tight end there Ethan Rose comes up a little gimpy
as he's going off the field there.

Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
I think he was on the bottom of all that.
Not the place you want to be.

Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
Now you have one of the defensive linemen ran all
the way to the sideline. Now he's got to run
all the way back on the field, number sixty six
on Zelle Newman.

Speaker 3 (01:58:45):
He's tired now too. That was a long trip.

Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
So first and ten four West fall at their own
forty eight yard line. Every under center with the two
rights in the I formation behind him. Second guy, Joey
Wright gets a ball and he was met in the
backfield really.

Speaker 3 (01:59:00):
By number twenty one for Unioto. That's Renner.

Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
Jacob Renner a good job of getting in the backfield
and causing some apoc.

Speaker 3 (01:59:10):
Well, Jacob Brenners spent a lot of times, a lot
of time in the UH opposing backfields this season. He
does a good job of getting off the line quickly,
beating his man and making plays in the backfield.

Speaker 2 (01:59:22):
So we get a sideline warning now for Uniota. Both
teams have had their sideline warnings, and it's going to
bring up a second down and eleven. What was a
heck of a toss hereby the referee here on the
right hand side as he retrieves his flag, and we're
ready to go with second down to eleven for westfall

(01:59:46):
eight point thirty to go here in the third quarter,
every awaits a snap motion from left to right hand
off to Joey right right up the middle. He finds
a lot of openings and gets to the safety and
he's going to get first down. That's gonna be a
gain of eleven six for jo We Wright. Unfortunately for

(02:00:06):
Jack Weingardner, he took the brunt of.

Speaker 3 (02:00:08):
That cool man. He just runs so hard and it
just continually fights for those extra yards.

Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
This third quarter is brought to you by a Chillicothe truck,
and Joey Wright hit Jack Winegardner like a truck coming
through there. This one is given to the upback Eli Right.
Quick play here by Uniota. They did not give him
the first down on that one.

Speaker 3 (02:00:31):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:00:31):
Joey Wright's run and Eli Wright does get the first
down now, so that'll be a gain of about three
on that play. Now it is first and ten for
Westfall on the Uniota thirty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:00:45):
Eli Wright got a little shaken up on that place
working it out here.

Speaker 2 (02:00:50):
He's gonna stay in the game, all right. So the
Mustangs break the huddle. They're gonna come with a I
formation with the twenty seven. Jack Handley at the full
back here, Joey right behind him. I'm not sure everybody
knows what's going on here, but we're gonna go with
it anyways. There's Everley gets it, tosses it back to

(02:01:12):
Joey right, and he may get right back to the
line of scrimmage. That that play did not look good
for him though.

Speaker 3 (02:01:18):
There were a lot of different people on a lot
of different pages on that plays.

Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
Second, So second and eleven, they're gonna give him a
loss of one on that play, and we're gonna get
a stoppage here as we got an equipment. It looks
like somebody's tying or shoe. All right, now we're ready
to go. You had to take off his gloves to

(02:01:46):
tie his shoe. Gets tricky with those gloves. Well, I
think that's Jack wine Gardner, and I think he might
have lost his shoe there on he got hit by
Joey right a couple of plays ago. So here we
go second and eleven at the thirty nine yard line
of Uniodo is west fall. Everly Is has one right

(02:02:09):
to each side of him. He's gonna hand off the
Eli right going around the left hand side, and he
doesn't find much room over there, and they're gonna give
him some paus. Well, they're gonna get him back to
the original line of scrimmage, making a third down and
ten could play there. I believe that was number six

(02:02:35):
or number eight Mica Strange over there for Niodo. So
third down and ten for Westfall under six minutes to
go here in the third quarter. Again, taking time off
the clock is what west Fall is going now. They
got to see if they can't prolong this drive. I'm
sure this is a two down territory form. Every takes

(02:02:57):
a snap hands, no fake hand off to Joey right,
throws out there to that should be landing sparks and
he's going to get close to the first down after
this pushed forward and let's see where they end up
marking him. Yes, that should be a first down by

(02:03:17):
my ego eye. All the way up here in the
press box, they're still looking. They're gonna get if you
would have listened to me ten seconds ago.

Speaker 3 (02:03:27):
So first and ten four Westwall.

Speaker 2 (02:03:29):
As they continue this drive, their first drive in the
second half, five point thirty five.

Speaker 3 (02:03:33):
To go here in this quarter. Well, they've hit that
that little quick screen pass several times tonight. I wonder
if they're going to use that to set something up
to try to get something down the field here in
the second half.

Speaker 2 (02:03:49):
All right, they break the huddle, got guys looking at
the sideline. That's not a good thing. You got Quinn
Beverley and Joey right in the backfield. Eli right now
comes in motion. They're going to toss it to him.
That's gonna be a pass. He finds an opening in
the middle. He's going to get the first down. He's
going to be all the way down near the seventeen

(02:04:09):
yard line of Uniodo, which will be enough for a
first down.

Speaker 3 (02:04:12):
Should be gain up twelve.

Speaker 2 (02:04:14):
There a little quick pass there to Eli Wright from
Quinn Everley.

Speaker 3 (02:04:19):
Well, that's the second time they've gotten that tonight. Both
times they've run it, it is yielded eleven yards.

Speaker 2 (02:04:28):
So first and ten from the seventeen is west fall
five point twenty to go here in the.

Speaker 3 (02:04:34):
Third quarter again, down to ten seconds. Haven't broken the
huddle yet. I'm gonna need to get this off in
a hurry.

Speaker 2 (02:04:44):
The referee does not like something that's being said from
the Uniodo sideline. Everly now the only guy in the backfield.
He throws it out there. There's your play. You were
calling for Joey right out there and a quick opening,
but he dropped it.

Speaker 3 (02:05:00):
Yeah, just to send Joey in motion. Tried to get
him out in space there and wasn't able to haul
it in.

Speaker 2 (02:05:08):
So second and ten now from the seventeen yard line,
and again he had some openings out there if he
was able to.

Speaker 3 (02:05:13):
Catch up, but he was not able to.

Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
So again West fall, second and ten from the seventeen
Everly and Joey right in the backfield. Three receivers to
the right hand side or left hand side. Now four
over there, quick toss out to Joey right, finds an opening,
makes one guy missed. Still going, still going, He's going

(02:05:39):
to get his first down. It looks like inside the
ten yard line all the way down to the six
yard line, so that'll be a first and goal four
west fall, and again Joey Wright comes.

Speaker 3 (02:05:52):
Up a little gimpy after that line. Well, he's taking
some shots. That's now twenty carries on the night and
a tough ninety six yards on the ground for Joey Wright.
What You've had a wonderful drive so far.

Speaker 2 (02:06:05):
You've got to come away with the touchdown here for
the west fall first and goal from the six yard line.
Everley going under center, Eli Wright and Joey right in
the eye formation behind him. Every Joey right right up
the middle gets probably the five yard line maybe, So

(02:06:27):
again that'll bring up a second and goal from the
five again.

Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
No hurry by westfall here.

Speaker 2 (02:06:35):
As the clock now is nearing the four minute mark
to go in the third quarter and a lot of
guys coming up, I say, come out of those piles.

Speaker 29 (02:06:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:48):
Eli Wright's struggling right now. He's barely able to stand.

Speaker 2 (02:06:52):
So Everley now gets to the hull with ten seconds
on a play call or a play clock makes the call.
They break the huddle with only five car time out.

Speaker 3 (02:07:00):
We're not going to make it here. Yep, there's their
time out, Eli Wright. It's really struggling, so we will
take a time out with them.

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.

Speaker 2 (02:08:21):
All right, here we go, second down and goal from
the five yard line for Westfall. Everley under the center,
gets a snap. He's gonna keep it.

Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
He's going to find the end zone. What a call.
Everyone was going right.

Speaker 2 (02:08:36):
Everly keeps it to his left for a five yard
touchdown run by Quinn Everley.

Speaker 3 (02:08:41):
Great call there by, coach Logan step yeah, I mean,
just you just take advantage of what you've been doing
so often, which is giving it to your backs going
up the middle. They fake it to the left side,
Everly keeps it himself, comes out to the right side
and there was all kinds of space. Nobody was gonna
touch them.

Speaker 2 (02:08:59):
And again you saw both of them, Eli and Joey
kind of gimpy there. So he called that time out
and he said, we're going to keep it to the
guy who's not gimpy right now, and that's Everly. And
this point's going to be blocked. As we had a
snap that was a little, uh, you know, probably not
the best, but every did his best to try to get.

Speaker 3 (02:09:19):
It down, but it's going to be blocked.

Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
It looked like number sixty six was a guy that
was able to come in there and get that block,
and I believe that was Donzell Newlan.

Speaker 3 (02:09:30):
So extra point no good. Yeah, that's twice now on
the field goal attempts earlier and on this extra point
that the kick has been low and Uniota was able
to take advantage of it get a hand on it.

Speaker 2 (02:09:42):
So it is an eight point game now. Is Unioto
is still in front? Twenty one to thirteen? Now is
the big possession here for Unioto? You don't want another
three in out here. And as we were talking about
on break that, you know, it's starting to get a
little chilly.

Speaker 24 (02:10:00):
It is.

Speaker 3 (02:10:00):
Matter of fact, I might have to shut this widdild
a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (02:10:03):
But you know, I think if you're Unioda, you want
your quarterback over here throwing a little bit, because that's
what you've been doing. And we'll see how that affects
Uniodo as they go through the second half.

Speaker 3 (02:10:15):
Yeah, I think if I'm Uniota right now, I'd probably
try to go back to the run game only because
Westfall has all their main guys play both ways, so
at this point in the game, there's got to be
some fatigue setting in and if you can take advantage
of that and and just kind of continue to hit bodies,
it's gonna it's gonna wear west Fall down.

Speaker 2 (02:10:35):
Ooh on the side quick on side kick air by Westfall,
and it's going to be recovered by Unioto. And again,
they were still in a bunch. They didn't even spread
out there. They just came forward, as seems like a
lot of teams like to do, and they continued with
the kick and that was I believe Judah Zikafusta came
out with that. So Uniodo ball now and they're going

(02:10:59):
to get it at their own forty eight yard line,
so good field position them for them to start their
second drive of the second half with three point fifty
to go here in the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (02:11:09):
Yeah, they've had really field will start field position all
night and see if they can take advantage of it.

Speaker 29 (02:11:17):
Here.

Speaker 3 (02:11:17):
So Koy and.

Speaker 2 (02:11:18):
Harsha in the backfield, two receivers to the left one
and the right. Corey back to pass, quick pass out
to Jack Welsh. He catches it, he's pushed out of
bounce after a game of eight.

Speaker 3 (02:11:31):
Yeah, just a nice little quick out there to Welch
on the outside and makes a nice catch, turns up
field and gets knocked out of bounds for a nine
yard game there.

Speaker 2 (02:11:39):
So nine yard gain on that. We'll make it a
second down and one. They are now in Westfall territory
at the forty three yard line. Is the Udi Sherman's
they break the huddle. We'll have two receivers out here
to the left, one to the right, and Koy and
Harsha in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (02:11:57):
Koy in the pistol formation, awaits a snap.

Speaker 2 (02:12:02):
Fake hand off quick throw to Zickafous and he is
unable to catch that. I thought a Westfall guy came
up with it. It must have hit hit the ground first.

Speaker 3 (02:12:12):
It kind of went to There was a little quick
slant there to Zickafous and it was thrown on his
back shoulder. If it had been thrown on the front shoulder,
he may still be running right now. So that brings
up a third down in one after that.

Speaker 2 (02:12:24):
Incompletion, it stops clock of three forty to go here
in the third quarter, breaks the huddle. You have Welsh
and Levi beam out here to the left, Zickafus to
the right, Harsh in the backfield with Coy. Coy gets
a snap, hands off the Harsh and he's coming to
the left.

Speaker 3 (02:12:40):
He's upfield.

Speaker 2 (02:12:41):
He's going to get stopped after he gets the first down,
so we'll get him again. Of three on that takes
it down to the westfall forty yard line, where it's
first and ten Union.

Speaker 3 (02:12:50):
It was a really smart play by horsh It looked
like he initially may try to bounce it outside more
at a chance at a bigger game, but realized that
on third down he just got to get those couple
of yards and get up field, and that's what he did.
So first and ten for Uniedo.

Speaker 2 (02:13:06):
You have Koy and Harsha in the backfield, wait to
snap back to throw going deep for Zick confuse down
the left hand sideline and almost intercepted there. That was
a quick hitching go and Zikafus never really got behind
the receiver and then the safety came over and did
a good.

Speaker 3 (02:13:26):
Job of knocking it down. So the UNIODA is fortunate
that the safety didn't pick that off there.

Speaker 2 (02:13:31):
Believe that was number one cars and Deskins back there,
no number four.

Speaker 3 (02:13:35):
Sorry, that was why at Ward brings up second and ten.

Speaker 2 (02:13:41):
So second and ten from the forty yard line. Now
for UNI eddo with three h seven to go into third.

Speaker 3 (02:13:47):
Quarter, see if you needed to gets harsh, you know,
maybe a quick look on the outside here.

Speaker 2 (02:13:54):
Well, Coy is going to go under center, Harsha is
the only guy in the backfield. Motion Lee beam going
to be a quick hand off to David Long right
up the middle, and he's going to get a game
of three out of that.

Speaker 3 (02:14:07):
So a lot of movement going.

Speaker 2 (02:14:09):
On and quick hand off to David Long who doesn't
get a lot of handoffs or passes thrown to him.

Speaker 3 (02:14:16):
But good job there, just going straight up the field
for three yards. I think if you're Matt Hoops right now,
you're you're looking at this as four down territory. I
don't think there's a need to punt from here, so
don't need to get it all here on third down,
but definitely want to make progress.

Speaker 2 (02:14:34):
Liam Matthews says, this is field golden. So Corey back
to pass. He's going to his right, throws down and
he's got an open man. And that is I believe
Levi Bean and Leevi Bean finding open in that scene
down the field. He's going to get all the way
down to the ten yard line for a first down

(02:14:57):
to be first in goal for you and Niota.

Speaker 3 (02:14:59):
Again, really good job of hanging in there by Isaac
Coy because there was a Westfall defender closing in fast.
He stood in the pocket, found his receiver and put
it right on the money. So first and goal from
the ten yard line for Uniota.

Speaker 2 (02:15:14):
You're gonna have three receivers out here to the left
hand side, Koy and Harsher in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (02:15:26):
Cooy quick throw.

Speaker 2 (02:15:27):
That is Jack Welsh right down the center for the touchdown.
That's a ten yard touchdown pass from Isaac Coy to
Jack Welsh.

Speaker 3 (02:15:38):
Yeah, it looks like Westfold has kind of forgot about
Welch there in the slot and just a quick quick
hitter to him right there and was able to break
a tackle to give in the end zone.

Speaker 2 (02:15:50):
So two minutes quick answer by Unioto after the west
Fall touchdown and the extra point now attempt by Matthy
is up and good. So the score now is twenty
eight for Unioto.

Speaker 3 (02:16:07):
Thirteen for Westfall.

Back at Uniodo High School awaiting to kick off by

that's going to go into the end zone for a touchback,
or Westwall bring it out to the twenty yard line
to start their drive, or scores from around the area.
Huntington now in front of piked in sixteen to fifteen.

Speaker 3 (02:17:41):
That's in the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (02:17:42):
And again Andrew circainbl Tigers lead Bloom Carrol Bulldogs twenty
to seventh, twenty to seven.

Speaker 3 (02:17:49):
In the third quarter. Yeah, that's a team that figured
to probably move down if they lost, but could potentially
gain a couple spots and get a home game if
they if they hold on there.

Speaker 2 (02:18:00):
Yeah, you know that young coach they have up there
in his first year at Circleville has done a pretty
good job.

Speaker 3 (02:18:05):
I've shown a lot of promise. I think cool. They
might want to keep him around. Hometown kid.

Speaker 2 (02:18:13):
That's his coach, Jay Sheard, who came out of retirement
from Pickering ten Central to take over the Circleville program
here this year where he graduated from way back. When
first play, Quinn Everley's going to take it right up
the middle for a game of five, gets to twenty.

Speaker 3 (02:18:28):
Five yard line. How to bring up a second down
in five? Yeah, just to look like it was going
to be a quick pitch to write, you fake the
pitch and ran up the middle and got a nice game.

Speaker 2 (02:18:41):
So we are at the one thirty mark to go
here in the third quarter, brings up second down and
five for Westfall.

Speaker 3 (02:18:46):
Still no big hurry down. Two scores.

Speaker 2 (02:18:53):
As coach step still has every over on the sideline.
Now he runs him out thirteen seconds ago on the
play clock, calls the play directly the line of scrimmage.
He has both rights on either side of him, turn
hands up Eli right. This time Eli right falls forward.
Probably's gonna be a yard short at the twenty nine

(02:19:15):
yard line, brings up a third down and one.

Speaker 3 (02:19:19):
Jesus well, if winning time of possession meant that you
won the game, west Fall would be a good shape here.
They have held this football for a lot of the
game tonight, they sure have.

Speaker 2 (02:19:29):
And again they came out second half and stopped them
right on the initial possession. But their last possession you
knew was able to go right down the field. So
third and one play here, every under the center for
this one with the rights behind him, turns hands off
to the first back Eli right. I don't think you
got it. It's gonna be a yard short. They're gonna

(02:19:52):
mark him at the twenty nine yard line, and we'll
see what happens here. That play probably will not happen
in this quarter, as we are now on under ten
seconds ago here in the third quarter, that will be
the last play we see.

Speaker 3 (02:20:07):
So we will be going to the.

Speaker 2 (02:22:26):
As we start the third quarter, the play is Quinneverley
given to Joey right, he is able to go to
the right hand side and our left hand side and
get that first down as he gained three. So on
fourth and one we had a first down. So Westfall

(02:22:46):
again taking their time. Queneverley under center with the two
rights behind him, turn toss to Joey right, throws back
to Quinn Everley, and it's going to be incomplete. They're
going to Unioto's calling for a fumble, but that is
not the case.

Speaker 3 (02:23:04):
And I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (02:23:05):
After every play, we've seen guys going back to the
huddle limping, and it's amazing what these guys are going
through here tonight. Just to try to keep Westfall in
the game at that time, Joey Wright did it as
good as he could to try to get the ball
back to Quinn Beverley, but he is he is hurting
out there right now.

Speaker 3 (02:23:26):
Yeah, well, design play, it just didn't weren't quite able
to execute it. But yeah, Joey Wright twenty two carries
for one hundred yards tonight has certainly given her thing
he's got. He's struggling to move right now.

Speaker 2 (02:23:39):
So Everley, he's got Joey right in motion, he throws
out to him. He's going to get a gain of
about three on that play, gets up to the thirty
five yard line, as he had him go in motion,
and then threw it out there as a swing pass,
so to bring up a third down and seven for Westfall.

(02:24:00):
At there are marking it at the thirty six yard line,
so it'll be a third down and six.

Speaker 3 (02:24:06):
Yeah, when the guy can barely walk. The defense doesn't
think it's gonna go to him. No, whether it did
the key play here for west Fall, if you're gonna
make a run at this thing, it's it's gotta happen now,
all right.

Speaker 2 (02:24:23):
So every is the only one in the backfield. He's
got three receivers out here to the left, one to
the right, and they're gonna have to call a time
out because I don't know if they had enough guys
out there or in the right spot.

Speaker 3 (02:24:36):
So west Fall will take a time out. As we.

Speaker 2 (02:24:43):
Are at the ten thirty five mark here, and we
look at some of the other scores around the area.

Speaker 3 (02:24:47):
I believe you said, Huntington, what's up. Yeah, twenty two
to fifteen now in the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (02:24:54):
All right, some also some other scores. Jackson Leeds till
Kyley twenty eight to nothing. That's now on a fourth
quarter circle. Another score on the board, twenty six to seven.
Now in the fourth quarter, Paynton Valley's still up twenty
seven to seven. Now on Southeastern and you and I

(02:25:16):
don't think I see anything on the Zane trades. You
have an update on the Zane trades in Adena.

Speaker 3 (02:25:21):
Twenty seven nothing was the last time I saw all.

Speaker 2 (02:25:24):
Right, and Hillsborough's leading McClain twenty seven to eight. So
Week ten of the high school football season that is
winding down. We're going to try to find out some
things about where people are going to be next week,
but it could be until Sunday before all this stuff

(02:25:46):
is finalized, as they have some things to discuss with
the HSAA before all that happens, in some ineligibility of
some players that are now being contested and all that
fun stuff. So third and six, you have four receivers

(02:26:07):
out here now to the right, one to the left
for west Fall everly the only one in the backfield.
He takes a snap and he's going to just run
straight up the field. He's going to get a game
of one. But I'm not sure what they were trying
to achieve there with what that formation.

Speaker 3 (02:26:29):
Led them to. No, it just nothing really materialized out
of those four guys on that were split out wide
on the left. So Everly just ran up the middle
and got what he could.

Speaker 2 (02:26:40):
So that'll bring a fourth and five, and it looks
like Westfall is going to go forward here as Everly
now brings into play with ten seconds go on the
play clock. Doesn't give him much time to get set
up here. Five seconds. I don't know they're going to
call it them out again, and they're.

Speaker 3 (02:27:03):
Going to I'm not sure.

Speaker 41 (02:27:10):
Of Ebody fourth down, so they did not call the
time out. Baseball has played a Cleveland game. That's only
their second penalty tonight. But unfortunately that one comes at
a really tough time. You had fourth and five, that's
a manageable down becomes a lot tougher fourth and ten here.

(02:27:30):
So fourth and ten now for west Fall as they
now get to play in they break the huddle with
thirteen seconds on the play clock. Every the only one
in the backfield. Two receivers for the right, three to
the left. You knoa shows blitz here comes David Long.
It's going to be a screen or a screen up.

Speaker 2 (02:27:52):
The middle and that's number four and looks like he's
going to be stopped. Oh, that was a number four
Wyatt Ward and the guy on the far end may
have given him a positive spot, but we're going to
have to see, well, we're gonna probably have to bring

(02:28:12):
those on. Looks like they marked it at the forty
two yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:28:19):
So the guy on the far side, which it's his
call because it's on his side of the field, he
initially ran past the marker and then ran back, but
it was actually probably closer to where the spot actually was.
Initially he had given him a spot that it looks
like it was favorable. He's about a half a ball shore. Yeah,

(02:28:54):
and we're going to get a flag on the play
there for some unsportsmanlike conduct on the sideline of westfall there.
They were not happy with that spot. Well, again, you
can understand why he's upset if you see the official
go initially past the marker, but ultimately I think they

(02:29:16):
landed at closer to where the spot actually was.

Speaker 2 (02:29:21):
Yeah, you and I initially thought he was short, and
then when the officials came in, we were both like, WHOA,
So that'll be a first down for what or for
Uniodo now, and that's going to be down at the
closer to the twenty five yard line, and they're continuing

(02:29:48):
the market on. They're going to market at the twenty
six yard line, where it'll be first and ten for Uniodo.
And I think if you're a Unioda, you might try
to go for it right here, Corey the only one
in the backfield, quick pass out here to Levi Beam.
He catches it, He's going upfield. He's going to be
tackled immediately. That's Joey Wright. Great job there by Joey

(02:30:12):
right on defense end right after a gain of about
one brings up a second down and nine.

Speaker 3 (02:30:24):
Well that's one hundred and sixty eight passing yards now
for Isaac Koy with with Cody Brayden being injured, that's
this is the kind of game he had to have
and he's he's stepped up and made plays in the
passing game.

Speaker 2 (02:30:37):
So Coy in the backfield with Harsha two receivers, is
right one of the left snap hand off to Harsha.
Harsher around the right hand side, and thisially stops break
the first tackle. He's going to get inside the twenty
to the nineteen year or that I'll bring up a
second down and three third down and three sorry.

Speaker 3 (02:31:02):
Yeah, nice job of fighting through the initial contact there.
Harshly got hit close to the line of scrimmage, but
I was able to shake off a tackler and gain
a few more yards after the contact.

Speaker 2 (02:31:13):
So eight twenty to go here in the ballgame, you
knew up twenty eight to thirteen, and they are inside
the twenty yard line of Westfall tossed the harsher around
the left hand side. He's trying to miss. Make a
couple of guys miss. There was a flat out hole there,
and I think they finally caught it when you grabbed

(02:31:35):
the jersey and it's actually pulled almost back a couple
of feet. That's probably going to get a hold. So
that'll bring up a third down and probably about thirteen.

Speaker 3 (02:31:57):
Yeah, one of those that I don't even know that
you really need the whole him only because you know
you're gonna have a really good athlete doing one on
one out in space, and that's a probably a battle
you're gonna win more often than not. So that'll bring
up a third and eleven. It looks like.

Speaker 2 (02:32:18):
We'll call it a third and ten, so third and
ten from the twenty six yard line with eight minutes
to go. Here in the ballgame, Koy with David Long
in the backfield. Long now goes in motion up to

(02:32:39):
the line of scrimmage. Koi back to pass, looking downfield,
looking down the middle, finds hars Show Harsh.

Speaker 3 (02:32:46):
It catches it. He's going to get.

Speaker 2 (02:32:47):
Inside the line to get for the first down. He's
going to get all the way to the fifteen for
a first.

Speaker 3 (02:32:53):
Down, Unioto.

Speaker 2 (02:32:54):
So nice job of waiting on his receivers to run
the route and getting it to him.

Speaker 3 (02:33:00):
Well, Braidon Harsh is proving to be a guy that
they can get the ball to from different spots and
in different ways, and is just a really athletic kid
and is going to make athletic plays when he gets it.
So it could be, you know, especially if you get
Cody Brayden back whenever your first playoff game is gives
you another versatile weapon to be able to go to.

(02:33:21):
So you Nioto.

Speaker 2 (02:33:21):
As we go under the eight minute mark, leads twenty
eight to thirteen. Here in the fourth quarter, Coy with
Harsha behind him, turns hands to Harsha right up the middle.
And he's going nowhere. Great job there by west Fall.
If you're west Fall here, you know, if you can't
stop him with no points, you definitely want.

Speaker 3 (02:33:41):
To hold him to three. Yeah, no question, and you
have to if your coach step to night, you have
to be pleased with how hard your guys have played,
how they competed in a tough, physical game. You know,
unfortunately this is probably gonna be the end of the
road for their season. But at least you could walk

(02:34:02):
out of here tonight with your headheld high knowing that
your guys fought till the end tonight. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:34:07):

times this year. You saw him three times. I saw
him two times, and they played hard in all those games. Yep,

This is hometown high school football coverage on ninety four
Country WKKJA.

Speaker 3 (02:36:17):
Back here at Uniodo High School where.

Speaker 2 (02:36:20):
During the last play, Isaac Coy tried to go up
the middle, and I believe we had a penalty on
you and Yoda that's going to march them back another
ten yards.

Speaker 3 (02:36:31):
So that was a holding that now.

Speaker 2 (02:36:33):
Brings up a second down and nineteen from the twenty
four yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:36:41):
Yeah, and I think if you're now we're going to
back it up more. I think if you're in Yoda,
this is the one area where I think you have
to be focused on getting better before your first playoff game.
That's six penalties for forty yards tonight. Not going to
make a difference in this game, but it could move forward.
So got to find a way to get rid of
those self inflicted wounds.

Speaker 2 (02:37:04):
All right, So we've got something going on on the
far sideline. All right, I think we're ready to go now.
So second down and twenty one from the twenty seven

(02:37:25):
yard line, Coy back to pass. He's looking out for
David Long in the flat. He catches it, he's going
down the field. He's going to get to the end
zone for a Unioto touchdown. That would be a touchdown
passes twenty seven yards and that was David Long.

Speaker 3 (02:37:44):
Koy rolled out to the right and I think had
about three different receivers he could have chosen from. He
threw it to Long. Long made his way up the
sideline and made a play to get into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (02:37:55):
So that's five touchdown passes tonight by Isaac Koy. And
that comes at the six point fifty mark here in
the fourth quarter. Liam matthe on now for U Nioto
to try to extend their lead.

Speaker 3 (02:38:12):
Snap Darreners hold and the kick is up and good.

Speaker 2 (02:38:17):
And with that the score now is Unioto thirty five
in Westfall thirteen.

Speaker 3 (02:38:25):
Well, I think if you're Matt Hoops and watching the
way Isaac Cooy has played tonight, it has to give
you more confidence going into into your first playoff game.
I think if you're able to get Cody Brayden back
and he does what he does on the ground and
now you can go to the air like they have tonight,
you have to feel good about anybody that you're playing.

Speaker 2 (02:38:50):
And again, what they're going to be putting on film
tonight is going to be a totally different type of
team that other teams are going to look from some
of the other films.

Speaker 3 (02:38:59):
Yeah, you know this is something that.

Speaker 2 (02:39:03):
You know, it makes somebody have to prepare for a
lot more stuff than what they normally will, no question.
So again, looking around the area, we do have a final.
Jackson does beat Chillicothy thirty five nothing tonight. I believe
Chillicothe is still going to make the playoffs, but obviously
they're going to drop down a little bit towards the

(02:39:26):
not having a home game, having to go on the
road for week eleven.

Speaker 3 (02:39:30):
That's an impressive dominant win over a team that have
been playing really good football all right. So awaiting the
kick of Matthey.

Speaker 2 (02:39:41):
His kickoff is a high booming kick and that is
going to make its way into the end zone for
his third touchback tonight and twenty third on the season
for Liam Mathey And again that's a weapon that question
people have to see on film two and have to
prepare for as they are looking forward into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (02:40:02):
I would have to think that if Liam Matheley wanted to,
he could kick at the next level. That kid has
a leg and does a nice job of putting the
ball right where he wants it to go.

Speaker 2 (02:40:13):
And again I believe he's a soccer player, right yep.
So looking at Region fifteen, Uniedo now sits in fourth.
But depending on how other things go, especially the Columbus
East Lyndon McKinley game, is going to dictate where Unieler

(02:40:34):
is going to end up in the final standings.

Speaker 3 (02:40:36):
Deep ball down the middle of the field for Westfall.

Speaker 2 (02:40:40):
They tried to get it to Wyatt Ward or Wyatt Yeah,
Wyatt Ward and again nice pass by Beverley, but unable
to keep.

Speaker 3 (02:40:50):
It and it falls incomplete. Yeah, nice play. I didn't
see exactly who the defensive back was, but it made
a nice play on the ball and broke it up
right at the right time. So second to ten for
Westfall from the twenty yard line.

Speaker 2 (02:41:13):
Three receivers out here to the left, two to the right,
Evererly back to pass, throws it out.

Speaker 3 (02:41:23):
I believe that is going to be a screen out
to Landing Sparks and.

Speaker 2 (02:41:32):
He's going to get positive yardage out of that, gets
it all the way down, brings up a third down and.

Speaker 3 (02:41:38):
Two from the twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 9 (02:41:43):
James.

Speaker 2 (02:41:45):
So again, now you're in a area where you're down
by twenty two points, so three scores. You've got to
get down the field a little bit, as Westfall now
is trying to go a little bit more up temp.

Speaker 3 (02:42:00):
Oh, I think the passing game has been what you
wanted it to be if you're Westfall. Quinn. Everly's eight
of twelve for seventy three yards. They've taken some shots
downfield that just didn't work out, But it looks like
Beverly's going to get the first down on.

Speaker 2 (02:42:16):
That carry, so he's able to keep that and he
does get his first down up to thirty one yard line.
So got a score in the East Linda McKinley game
and is eight to six East in the fourth quarter.
So if that score stays the same, we may see
you and Yoda playing in week eleven at home against somebody.

(02:42:37):
Every quickly out into the right for basically no gain
as he threw it quickly out to Joey Right, brings
up a second to ten as the clock continues.

Speaker 3 (02:42:50):
To run at five point twenty. Yeah, just a quick
passed there to Joey Wright. The defense was all over.
It didn't let him get going.

Speaker 2 (02:43:10):
So Everley in the backfield, Joey Right behind him, everly
back to pass, tries to throw it out to Joey
Right and threw it more towards Joey Right's feet, so
he really couldn't catch it. We've got a flag out
down over there down in the secondary. We're gonna get

(02:43:38):
a hold on the defense. So that'll bring first down
at the forty one yard line. Now for west fall
under five minutes ago here with four fifty one. So again,

(02:44:00):
as this game continues to go, and we talked about
Unyodo again, three straight SBCD outright titles and three straight
gold balls if this score continues.

Speaker 3 (02:44:11):
Yeah, it's it's been an impressive run.

Speaker 2 (02:44:14):
Every lead down the field, and what a throw and
what a catch. Everley got drilled as he threw it,
and the guy.

Speaker 3 (02:44:22):
Who made the catch was is that twenty one to
twenty three?

Speaker 2 (02:44:28):
Twenty three landed Sparks again a great throw and a
great catch down the far sideline for Westfall, and again
every took a shot as he let that one go,
but Sparks went up and made a great athletic catch
and first and ten at.

Speaker 3 (02:44:46):
The thirty one of Uni Yoda. Yeah, great catch there
by Sparks that he also kind of took a shot
as he landed, So great play on both ends.

Speaker 2 (02:44:58):
Everlea back to pass setting up the screen pass as
caught by Joey Wright as he tries to get up field.

Speaker 3 (02:45:04):
Great job there by. It's like we've got a penalty
flag down somebody not set.

Speaker 2 (02:45:11):
But that was a great defensive player there by number
six Grady Goebel. Looks like they may wave that off
as they continue to discuss. Now they're looking over at
Unioda's sideline see what they want to do. So it

(02:45:36):
is going to be something and U Niodo is going
to accept it. So so it'll be a first and
fifteen now for west Fall. So again going back to
the west Fall team, you know, not giving up, still
playing hard and doing what they can uh with the

(02:46:00):
you know guys that are out there just giving it all.

Speaker 29 (02:46:03):
They have.

Speaker 3 (02:46:05):
I'm not sure why the ball is marked where it is.
That's a It should have been from the original line
of scrimmage, so it should be first and fifteen, but
they've got it at first and thirteen right now, Yeah,
it's not from the end of the play, right all right,
now we're gonna correct. There they go some Jeopardy music

(02:46:31):
playing over the PA.

Speaker 2 (02:46:32):
Speakers, so Step is like, what are we doing? The
officials over there telling him something. Coach Step don't want
to hear it now, and now we're like, let's just
play it on. So here we go first and fifteen.
Everly in the backfield with Joey Wright, Eli Wright in motion,
quick toss.

Speaker 3 (02:46:52):
Nope, Everly keeps it.

Speaker 2 (02:46:54):
Now he throws it to let's catch Joey Wright, who
catches it for a game of four.

Speaker 3 (02:47:02):
Well, Quinn Everly is quietly kind of racked up a
nice passing game here. He's got one hundred and seventeen
yards passing and has completed several passes, many of them
under duress.

Speaker 2 (02:47:18):
And again he's trying to shake his leg off a
little bit, trying to get things right as he now
jogs into the huddle three point thirty to go, here
in this ball game, second and eleven from the thirty
two of the Uneato Shermans. Every snap back to pass

(02:47:42):
down the left hand side for Sparks, that's going to
be intercepted. And that's I believe Jackson zikafous with the
interception at the six yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:47:51):
Really smart play by Jackson there picked it off. Rather
than take the risk of fumbling or something happened during
the runback, just take a knee and give your offense
a chance to run the rest of the clock out here.

Speaker 2 (02:48:04):
So Unioda Sherman ball at the six yard line, their
own six yard line with three to nine to go
here in the ball game. So Unioda ball here and again, Andrew,
as we talk about this, three straight league titles for

(02:48:24):
this Unioda Sherman team, doing it without losing a league
game in that twenty four straight league wins for a
winning streak over a period of four years.

Speaker 3 (02:48:36):
Well, it's an impressive run, especially considering that that Uniota
has never been a football powerhouse in the SVC. They
struggled for a long time, but coach Hoops has come
over and has really changed the culture of the program
and has gotten this uh this group where they where
they want to be, so really impressive run here and

(02:48:59):
it's and honestly, there's not really any signs of its
slowing down at all. Their Davy team is really good.
Their junior high teams dominated this year in the SBC,
So it looks like the everything's set up to continue
to go that way for a while now.

Speaker 2 (02:49:19):
So David along with the run right up the middle
for four yards, I'll bring up a second and six.
Looking at some other scores, Huntington now up thirty to
twenty two on piked in circle. Old Tigers still lead
the bloom Carroll Bulldogs twenty six to seven, and off
to Oh there goes? Is that David Long again? Is Yeah,

(02:49:40):
he broke free there, but he's going to get caught
from behind. Not a speechter back is David Long. But man,
he got so much stuff for this football team defensively
the punter there. He was able to get downfield all
the way down to the forty four yard line of.

Speaker 3 (02:50:00):
It's west fall. Forty six yard run there by David Long.
That might be his longest run of his career. Get
that guy from Oxygen.

Speaker 2 (02:50:12):
That two twelve to go here in the ballgame, as
Unioda breaks the huddle again. U Niota leeds thirty five
to thirteen. Here in the fourth quarter, Coy turns. This
time he's going to give to Henry Valette, but Lett
goes off the right hand side.

Speaker 3 (02:50:30):
He gets up the field for about.

Speaker 2 (02:50:33):
We'll give him five yards on that, bring up a
second down and five now, one forty five to go
here in the ballgame. May see a couple more plays
here by Uni Yudo.

Speaker 3 (02:50:45):
Yeah, assuming west Fall is not going to burn their
last time out, which I would be shocked if they did.
But even now, you could probably get away with maybe
one more play here, get the first down, and then
line up in the victory formation.

Speaker 2 (02:51:02):
So Koy in the pistol with Vallette behind him, Snap turns,
Coy keeps it. I don't know if that's what you
want late in the game. But Levi Bean is run
out of bounce. Not sure if that was a flag
of fence there. I think they were both sort of

(02:51:22):
jostling with each other, so I'm not sure who they're
going to call that on. So run out of bounce
at the thirty six yard line. The referees now conversing
over what they all saw. One of them may have
sawd what I saw where you know it was really
both of them. So we'll see if we pick up

(02:51:46):
that flag. Nope, so they're going to give that to
west Fall. That'll be a personal file that I'll move
it up fifteen yards now in the field. With one
twelve to go here, first down for Unyodo now at
the twenty one yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:52:12):
Well, let's see what Unyoda does here.

Speaker 2 (02:52:20):
So Isaac Corey brings them out of the huddle. It's
gonna be a pistol formation with Henry Vallett next to him.
Now behind him. No, now do the other side of it,
leve I beam in motion, hands off the valet Let straight.

Speaker 3 (02:52:37):
Up the field.

Speaker 2 (02:52:37):
He's at the twenties at the fifteen, goes down to
the eleven where he'll be brought down maybe just short
or are they going to give him the first time.

Speaker 3 (02:52:50):
They're going to give it to him.

Speaker 2 (02:52:56):
So that'll be a first down for Unioda at the
eleven year line. Clock running with forty five seconds going
the ballgame, and I think we're going to get a
victory formation here for the Shermans.

Speaker 35 (02:53:11):
So with.

Speaker 2 (02:53:15):
Thirty seconds to go here in the ballgame, koy takes
a snap, drops to a knee, and that's going to
be your ballgame.

Speaker 3 (02:53:20):
The Unioto Shermans.

Speaker 2 (02:53:22):

one mark in the first quarter. Jackson Zickafus caught a

(02:57:05):
thirty six yard touchdown pass from Isaac coy. Liam Matthews
kick was good seven to nothing. Unioto Westfall then answered
with a Eli Wright eleven yard touchdown.

the eight forty nine mark in the second quarter. UKNI
had two late scores in the first half. Jackson Zikahufus
with four thirty two to go in the second quarter,
caught a five yard touchdown pass from Isaac Coy. Liam
Matthews extra point was good fourteen to seven, and then

(02:57:42):
at the thirty eight point four second mark of the
first half, Braydon Hartschak caught a thirty one yard touchdown
pass from Isaac Coy. Liam Matthews extra point was good
and at halftime it was twenty one to seven. Westfall
then had the opening score in the second half. At
the the three to fifty mark of the third quarter,

(02:58:03):
Quinn Everley with a five yard run. Deskins kick was
no good. The score there was twenty one to thirteen.
Unyodo then added two more scores Uniodo in the third quarter.
With one fifty to go, Jack Welsh caught a ten
yard pass from Isaac Coy Liam Matthews kick was good.
It was twenty eight to thirteen and unioda final score

(02:58:26):
was At the six to fifty mark of the fourth quarter,
David Long caught a twenty seven yard touchdown pass from
Isaac Coy.

Speaker 3 (02:58:32):
Liam Matthew added the extra.

Speaker 2 (02:58:34):
Point for a thirty five to thirteen final here from Uniodo.

Speaker 3 (02:58:40):
On Senior night, and Unyoda.

Speaker 2 (02:58:43):
Wraps up the Outright League title, a third straight gold
Ball and added to their league winning streak which now
stands at twenty four straight games. Andrew Day is now
on the field trying to get some interviews from the
coaches here afterwards. As we wait on that, let's go
through some of the other scores on our sister station

(02:59:05):
wb X. Chillikathy Cavaliers fall to the Jackson Ironman thirty
five to nothing. Other SVC games, Paynt Valley leads Southeastern
in the fourth corner twenty seven to seven. Huntington still
leads Piked in thirty to twenty eight as Huntington tries
to get into the playoffs and the final from Zane Trace.

(02:59:27):
Tonight on their senior night, Zane Trace defeated the Adena
Warriors thirty.

Speaker 3 (02:59:33):
Nine to.

Speaker 2 (02:59:35):
Eight, and Zane Trace will be playing here in week
eleven as we await their outcome. We may have to
wait until Sunday to find out where these places are
going to be and where these teams are going to
be playing. We know Unioto is going to make the
playoffs as well, they're just now waiting to find out
if it's going to be a Week eleven by or

(02:59:56):
a week eleven home game. And as we we await
that they're going to celebrate their league title as they
came away to victory tonight thirty five to thirteen over Westfall. Again,
still waiting for those coaches to make their way over
to Andrew and get some postgame comments. Some other areas

(03:00:19):
scores that are of importance, especially to the Unioto Columbus
East now leaks Lyndon McKinley fourteen to twelve in the
fourth quarter, and that's a game that could directly affect
the outcome of where Uni Yodo may end up on
Week eleven. So again, Andrew's still awaiting some of the

(03:00:41):
coaches comments. So what we'll do is we'll take a
quick break here and we'll come back for those comments.

Now down to Andrew with the coach, Three straight sec titles,
three straight gold balls. What a lot of people may
not remember is that not too long ago, Uniota was
not fighting for league titles, was hanging out close to
the bottom. What have you seen in the change of
culture in these past few years. I just think that's it.

(03:03:29):
The culture.

Speaker 23 (03:03:30):
I think you know, started a little bit with Coach
Huddnell trying to get it to where he wanted it
to be, but I just don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:03:36):
If we had the guys to do it.

Speaker 23 (03:03:37):
Obviously, Coach Metzger pointed it in the right direction, and
then my staff and myself were able to kind of
just cultivate that, get some guys out that normally weren't playing,
make it special, make it important, make it fun, but
still work really hard. And I think that's what you're
seeing now is these guys aren't afraid to work hard
basically all year round to try to achieve things like this.

Speaker 3 (03:04:00):
Uh Uh, Cody went out with an early injury kind
of changed how you guys had to operate. Thought Isaac
Coloyd really stepped up and made a lot of great
throws in it. Well.

Speaker 23 (03:04:08):
The crazy thing was this was probably Isaac's best week
of practice, and uh, you know, he trusted the.

Speaker 3 (03:04:13):
Guys around and the guys up front.

Speaker 23 (03:04:14):
Gave him time and and the and the players made plays,
but Isaac did made made all the right reads and
put the ball where it needed to go and just
really settled us now, because you know, when you lose
a guy like Cody on the first play at the
offensive series that you know, the first snap, and uh yeah,
that's not always easy to handle, you know, from from
any one's point of view. I mean, I'll be honest.
You know, we had to have conversations on the sideline

(03:04:35):
as a coaching staff. Hey, you know, we still got
to relax and call this game and uh, you know,
trust our guys and and we'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (03:04:42):
And you know, and I think Cody's going to be
okay too.

Speaker 40 (03:04:45):
Well.

Speaker 23 (03:04:45):
Well, you know, we were able to score and kind
of keep it at one or two two, uh touchdown
lead most of the night, so there was no reason
to you know, put that in danger of putting back
out there.

Speaker 3 (03:04:54):
But if I think we could have, he would have
been able to go. Yeah. Is there a better all
around football player right now than Jackson Zikafus What he
does offensively, defensively, special teams. That kid's having quite the impact.
He does everything.

Speaker 23 (03:05:06):
You know, he really does everything, and he wants to
do everything, and ask him, he'll tell you that in fact,
if he doesn't think he gets it enough, which is
what all great players want.

Speaker 3 (03:05:16):
The ball in their hands. And you know, there's no
doubt he's a great player.

Speaker 23 (03:05:19):
He's very electric, he's explosive, and it makes a lot
of really good plays for us and puts us in
a lot of good positions.

Speaker 3 (03:05:25):
Yeah, coach, now the focus shifts to the playoffs. What's
the message to your guys. You know, you don't know
yet if you're playing next week of the week after,
but what's the message to the guys as you head
into that second season. Well, I think the message.

Speaker 23 (03:05:37):
Started this week when we talked about this was a
playoff week number one for us. We knew it's going
to be that type of environment, a lot to play for,
a lot of emotions with Senior Night, West Fall six
and three coming in trying to get into the playoffs.
So we really talked about our playoffs started tonight and
hopefully we'll just be able to carry that mindset over
when the actual playoffs do begin, whether it's next week
or two weeks from tonight, but you know we're going

(03:05:58):
to prepare and give it our best shot and be
ready to go.

Speaker 3 (03:06:01):
Well, coach, congratulations, another sec title. Good luck as you
guys move forward. Appreciate it, Thank you guys, thank you
all right, So the victorious coach.

Speaker 2 (03:06:13):
Matt hoops as Unioto wins their third Street SVC title
and the gold Ball, and they're down. They're still celebrating
there on the field, which they should. It looks like
they're getting ready for a team photo. So we'll take

in the press box, and we'll fap some final thoughts.

Welcome back to the Dina Health Systems postgame Report. I'm
joined now again with Andrew Day up here.

Speaker 3 (03:10:57):
In the press box.

Speaker 2 (03:10:58):
And Andrew, if you want to go over some of
the stats over tonight's game.

Speaker 3 (03:11:01):
Yeah, so West Fall had one hundred and forty two
yards rushing tonight. Joey Wright had one hundred of those.
Just a lot of tough physical carries for him tonight.
Quinn Eberley throwing the ball eleven of sixteen for one
hundred and seventeen yards, probably the best we've seen him
throw the ball since he took over his quarterback and
then Land and Sparks had four receptions for sixty eight

(03:11:25):
yards for you and Yoto rushing tonight one hundred and
sixty six yards, and they had quite a few guys
that chipped in. David Long had fifty three, Braydon Harsha
had forty three, Isaac Coy had twenty nine, Henry Villette
had twenty three, and they needed that since Cody Brayden

(03:11:46):
went down with the early injury. Isaac Coy was the
best we've seen him eleven of eighteen for one to
ninety five and five touchdowns tonight and Jackson Zikafu's four
receptions for fifty six yards.

Speaker 2 (03:12:01):
So again, really a good football game, both teams playing
their hearts out, and again hats off to West Fall.
They came in there tonight with a game plan and
for really a good part of the first half they
were able to execute that. Uni Yodo had two late
scores in the first half, but again west Fall comes out,
makes that stop in the third quarter, goes down and scores,

(03:12:23):
cuts into a one score game. But Unioto shows how
explosive they are and they were able to take it
right down the field and score.

Speaker 3 (03:12:30):
They are there. They're so good offensively, and and I
don't want to beat a dead horse, but against a
team like that, when you have those opportunities, you have
to capitalize, and it's a tall task, and west Fall
competed tonight. They they gave it all they had.

Speaker 17 (03:12:46):
And and.

Speaker 3 (03:12:48):
Just unfortunately wasn't enough tonight.

Speaker 2 (03:12:50):
Ye hats off the Logan Step, his staff and his
team tonight for coming in here and giving Uniodo quite
a game. It was not an easy game for them
to get their gold ball here tonight, but they are
celebrating that. They'll celebrated here tonight and then probably tomorrow
or the next day find out exactly what their playoff
hopes are or playoff where there will be going whether

(03:13:11):
it be playing in week eleven or having that bye week.
We know we will get at least two teams into
the next from the SVC U Niotto and Zane Trace.

Speaker 3 (03:13:21):
We're keeping an eye on the score.

Speaker 2 (03:13:24):
I believe last check it was Huntington now down to
Piked in thirty six to thirty, so that games still
going on as Huntington hopes to maybe get into the
playoffs as well. Just a quick reminder, we will have

we'll be.

Speaker 22 (03:14:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:14:08):
It was a pleasure this season. Yeah games, it's been
a lot of fun and uh yeah, I think we're
still in for another couple of weeks at least. I
think all the sv SVC teams that are going to
get in are gonna have chances to win and should
be a fun ride through the playoffs. All right.
