ten seed, and the Valley Indians the host number seven seed.

(01:20):
make it in, going back to what they did in
twenty twenty before the pandemic, where everybody made it in
and then they moved.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
It to sixteen teams.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
We were back down to twelve and the first four
get a bye. In the next eight are playing tonight.
Zaine Trace comes in with a record of eight and two.
They were second in the SVC Valley with a record
of eight and two as well and second in the
so SoC The winner takes on Columbus Academy in the

(01:53):
next round.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
As Columbus Academy got to buy Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
And I think if you're saying Trace, you're feeling good
coming to this game. You have a free game winning streak,
and the game before that was Unioda about four weeks ago,
and you played really.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Good in that game.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It's just you had a couple of possessions where you
came up empty of points there and Unioda is a
really good team. So I think Zany and Trace is
feeling really good where they're at, so it should be
a good.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
One here to that excited for this one tonight.

Welcome back to the Dina Health System pregame Show. Earlier
this week, we caught up with coach Dylan Weirs of
the Zane Trace Pioneers and.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
This interview with Loup Postage.

Speaker 13 (05:51):
I think we have now coach Dylan Weir's on the
phone from Zane.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Trace coach or there.

Speaker 14 (05:58):
Yeah, I am all right, coach.

Speaker 13 (06:00):
Well, thanks for calling in and appreciate you taking some
time here tonight. Coach, As you look at your schedule,
your only two losses come to playoff teams Amanda and
Uniota this year, one of the things I wanted to
talk about is when you look and you're going forward
in the playoffs, you know, do you take things from
those games and really learn from them as you move forward?

Speaker 15 (06:21):
Yeah? Absolutely. I mean when and losses, we both you know,
learned things from both of them. I would I would say,
especially you kind of use it as the baseline. We
kind of talk about our goals as the team, and
you know, like what we want to accomplish, and it's
not just winning games, but you know, winning against good
teams and competitive games. So we you know, compare things

(06:43):
what we think they're going to be like in this
game and kind of help them some things are going
to go with comparing them to other playoff caliber teams
that we played throughout the year.

Speaker 13 (06:51):
Coach, as you move forward on Friday, you know, you
look at some of the things, like, you know, you
go two years ago, you were able to play some
games at home. Last year you had to go on
the road. So many of these kids as juniors that
are seniors now played a road playoff game. Do you
take you know, from last year to this year. Hey,
this is how playoff games on the road are going

(07:13):
to be.

Speaker 15 (07:14):
Yes, we have actually talked about that quite a bit
this week and just kind of the experience that especially
our juniors but also are not junior seniors and then
also juniors have had, you know, four years now being
a part of playoff football, sometimes two games at least
won every single year. Luckily this year and last year
it was a major learning experience. Going over two hours

(07:36):
bus trip down to Procterville last year a little bit
more fortunate if you're with just around a forty five
minute bus.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Right, coach, this is Dewey Daily talking to you.

Speaker 16 (07:44):
Obviously, you know your team won six of their last
seven games, and over that seven game stretch, you guys
were only giving up an average of seven and a
half points per game, including holding you and Yoda their
to their season low of nineteen points. Just talk a
little bit about your team and how they've played defensively
over the last half of the season.

Speaker 15 (08:03):
First would be just less with some really good players
that are you know, easy to have a good defense
with with just you know, their overall athletic ability and
genetic talent and stuff like that. So that that's the
first thing is just just having you know, some good
talented players. But next thing is this year is kind
of taking a step up on defense. I think has
been a lot of it just the player's mindset, and
we've really just been preaching that, you know, it's our

(08:25):
our goal is to not let the other teams score.
And the kids when when you first say that, they're
just like, what do you mean you don't want to score?
It all like that, like that's the goal every single game.
And obviously we know sometimes you know, teams are going
to score, and they get that and they don't get
down when he do score. But that's that's the goal
in mindset the kids have going in and they really
kind of adopted that ring with it and done a
great job at it. I think that this year we've

(08:47):
done a really good job also playing complimentary football and
offensively not putting our defense in bad situations and also
playing some pretty good special teams that also keeps our
defense out of being in bad situation and.

Speaker 16 (08:59):
Coach, as Lou mentioned at the top of this segment,
very similar offensive place saw to you, guys, right, a
run focused offense.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
What have you seen on film here early in the
week from Valley?

Speaker 16 (09:10):
Obviously at number twenty two Anthony Aaron one of the
more shifty running backs in our area. I believe he
nearly went over one thousand yards last year in about
six or seven games. So what have you seen early
on on film from Valley?

Speaker 15 (09:23):
Yeah, so, I'm not sure if everyone's aware of this,
but we've actually had Valley's been our first scrimmage for
the last couple of years or since I've got there
and even before, so we're very familiar with with kind
of their play style and some of their players. They're
the first team we see the start this year. Twenty
two is a really good back. He had some really
nice runs with us against the scrimmage. Thirty three has
done some really nice things against us now for the

(09:45):
last three years, and then going in a quarterback, they've
had two different guys playing quarterback, both that have their
strengths that you got to prepare for both of them.
Number one is a really good runner and athletic runner
as well, and then they just got you know, some big, strong,
physical offense and the defensive lindments that do well as well.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Well.

Speaker 13 (10:04):
Coach, you know, we appreciate you coming on here tonight
and talking a little bit about the game. And w
KKJ will be there doing the game on Friday night.
It'll be my two sons, Trey and Chris in the
press box storing to play by play. I'm living that
retirement life and I'm going on another trip.

Speaker 14 (10:22):
Good for you.

Speaker 13 (10:23):
None of us blame you, all right, Coach, Well, best
luck on Friday and hopefully we'll see you in the
week twelve.

Speaker 15 (10:30):

Coldness and Heartlessness are undermining today's suspense movies. Don't go

citizen critics out there. So we loved our experience here
because I read all the reviews beforehand and did not stay,

my opinion on what was that band that I really
got out in front of the new radicals, the New Radius.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah, I was like, I think this guy's got the
next team one. But mostly it'll be a bunch of nonsense,
like this is a big let me bring it. Yeah,
they're not going to bring this same ban bang.

Welcome back to Valley High School. This is the Adena
Health System pregame show. We'll go over to Trey for
tonight's Keys to the Game. Keys of the Game are
presented by homes Loans by Gin. The Key to Better
Living starts with a visit to home Loans by Gin.
Hopeful credit plan is to get to your proof faster.
Look for home Loans by Jin on Facebook and secure

(14:05):
keys to your new home with Jennifer Conley. Yeah, with
what coach Weiers always you Know has mentioned for in
the past, is Zane Trace that really needed to avoid
slow starts? He hints at that Amanda game where they
just really did not get off to a good start
and they were just not able to recover there. So
what you really want to do, Isane Trace with this
first offensive possession is get that running game established, averaging

(14:28):
over seven yards per carrier and get it behind the
cope back of the year for the SVC and Bryce
Johnson and also see a lot of Jayden Higgins tonight
as that second running back. But really it comes down
to that defense, which is led by a lot of
first team in honorable mentioned SBC all SBC players, And

(14:49):
you know what I really saw was in that Uniyota game,
they held them to nineteen points, which is.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
The lowest for uniod all year.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
And we know that high powered offense is capable of
scoring forty fifty points each night. So Zane Chase is
really wanting to set that tone with the running game
and then you're going into that defensive possession to where
you can get a turnover just to change the whole
complexion of this game. So you know, a nice combination
between both sides of the ball for Zane Trace. Yeah,

(15:18):
you mentioned that Zane Trace defense and Dewey Daily mentioned
in that interview and in the blitz before our pre
game that Zane Trace has won.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Six of their last seven, only given up seven and
a half points per game.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
That defense is really led by number seventy seven Blake Brower,
the sbc D Lineman of the Year with sixty five
total tackles in four and a half sacks on the year. Trey,
I can tell you from game planning against the Zane
Trace Pioneers last year, that number seventy seven name comes
up a lot and you really do game plan away
from him.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
And another name that we're gonna hear a lot from
the Zane Trace defense is Hudson Williams, whose first team
oss we see and had eighty four tackles on the year.
He is I know in that you know the game
he was all over the place for for the Zaane
Trade Pioneer defense. This is not the first time Zane
Trac and Valley is meeting this year, you know, I

(16:11):
know you won't see it in the stat sheet, but
they actually scrimmaged each other this year.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
How do you think that's going to factor in?

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Yeah, it's definitely, you know, nice to know a familiar opponent,
just being being able to know what they offer from
that scrimmage. You probably didn't get to see a lot
of that scrimmage, and I know a team changes a
lot from weak zero to UH to now into the
playoffs here, so it's nice for Zane Trace to know that,
but I wouldn't expect you're gonna see the same thing
from that scrimmage. What we're gonna see from both of

(16:41):
these teams is a lot of ground game. Anthony Aaron
and Gabe McNeil for the Valley and of course Bryce
Johnson and Jayden Higgins as long as well as Gunna
McCalla on the ground for Yeah, he's really he's got
a nice arm. He's very capable of throwing the ball.
But we've seen him a couple of times and he's
really good on the ground game. He keeps drives going,

(17:04):
he seems to have these timely runs to whenever it's
third down he gets the nice chunk run and able
to continue the possession there. And you know, going back
to that UNIODA game, thats Aine Trace had. Zane Trace
really controlled the pace of that game and they had
a play drive about seventeen eighteen plays where they went
eighty yards and they came up empty with those with

(17:25):
no points. So That's what really just kind of set
the momentum back towards Unioda.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
So Zane Trace really.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Cannot have these empty possessions, especially if they're gonna have these,
you know, long drives that are sustained against this valley defense.
Other games in our area tonight, Chili Cooffee is down
in Cincinnati playing McNichols.

Speaker 4 (17:47):

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Welcome back to Valley High School where it is playoff
football time here in the state of Ohio.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
We've got the Zane Trace Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
And the Valley Indians set to kick with Preston Lane
set to kick for the Zane Trace Pioneers. The Pioneers
in their road whites with blue numbers, red trim, red helmets,
and red pants. The Valley Indians in their home purples
with white numbers, gold trim white pants and the purple

(26:50):
in gold helmets.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
A sharp look for both schools here tonight, Trey.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yeah, and we're not going to have you in trouble
with numbers because I think we can easily see the numbers.
And then it's well lit here, so we'll be able
to see everything first time for me here at Valley
High School's football stadium. And what a beautiful facility this is.
It's a great stage for Ohio high school football.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
And we are underway lanes.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Kick goes to the twenty field of thereby number thirty
three and it gets out to the thirty five yard
line where the.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Valley Indians will take over first intent.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, a couple of things with Valleys. We'll see Hunter
Cunningham at quarterback. He's more of that passing quarterback. But
we'll also see number one Braxton Conaway, who is a
wide receiver for Valley. He'll come in and be that
more of that wildcat, more that running quarterback for the Indians.
It looks like Conaway to start the game. Conaway is
a junior. Conaway in the shotgun, he's got both McNeil

(27:52):
and Aaron in the backfield, Aaron in the offset snap,
and they've got an option to the right. Aaron's gonna
turn it upfield and get about four or five yards.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
And it'll be second down for the Indians.

Speaker 14 (28:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
I think that's what you're gonna have to see, is
you know, with Conway in the backfield, he's gonna be
the one where they're gonna try and run this little
option or maybe just direct runs like that. Really good
job by him keeping and making that correct read for
about four or five tackle on the play was made
by Grady Stewart. There, same formation, cutting Ham in the shotgun,
same play, run to the left side this time, and

(28:31):
there is Blake Brower to make a tackle right at
the line of scrimmage for no game. Yeah, like you said,
it's the same play, just they went to the left
side of the field there. Blake Brower did a good
job recognizing that and bringing down Conway right at the
line of scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Third down and six for the Indians.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
And this is the down and distance where if you're saying, Tracy,
you want to go off field right now and get
it right to your offense so you can set the
pace of this game. Still got Conway in there and
more of a passing down, So we'll see what the
play call it. Empty set, four receivers out to his
right and a bunch formation, Aaron alone receiver to the left.
It's a screen pass. Who gave McNeil on the right side.

(29:11):
He's met in the backfield, breaks the tackle and gets across.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
The fief forty five yard line. That'll be a first down, Valley.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Yeah, just a little bubble screen right there, not having
to throw it down the field, and he was stopped
in the backfield by one of those Zine Trace Pioneers
defensive backs. But McNeil did a really good job of
breaking that tackle, was able to get about eight yards
for a first down. Will be first and ten for
the Valley any Indians. Ten thirty left to go in
the first quarter. Valley breaks the huddle. It's Conway and

(29:44):
Aaron in the backfield. Three receivers to the left side,
snap cross formation, hands.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
It off to Aaron.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Aaron off, gets the edge and gets a game of
about six yards. It'll be second and give him five.
Actually more of a straight handoff there for Aaron really
showed his speed off right there. He was able to
get out of that back toep quick once he got
that handoff.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
So really nice play.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Three plays, three different formations so far, the Indians haven't
really tested the Pioneers up the middle. Everything's been to
the outside. The Indians break the huddle Conaway and the
shotgun formation. Three receivers to his left, to his right,
empty formation. Aaron information gets the ball on the jet
sweep to the left side. He's got the edge, but

(30:28):
what a phil there by Higgins or the Pioneers gets
him for a gain of just one. That time was
the empty look and then we had Aaron go into
a jet sweet motion.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
He got it. Who made that tackle there was Jayden Higgins.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Jaden Higgins did a really good job from his safety spot,
recognized that play and came up to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
And you know, if Aaron would have broke that tackle,
he might have been gone.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
So really good job by Higgins to wrap up and
bring force another third down here.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Looks like he looked like the Indians had the edge
sealed there.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
But a good job by the first first team all
SVC or Higgins to fill the outside one man to
the right of Conaway. He hands it that's Aaron and
he's met right there at the line of scrimmage, and
it'll be about a game of one for the Indians.
And guess who the SEC defensive lineman of the year
Dwake Browner there with a huge tackle force and forcing

(31:20):
a fourth and short here right around the fifty yard line.
And it'll be interested to see that Aley to use
the punt.

Speaker 14 (31:26):
Or go for it.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
And it looks like the Indians will line up in
a punting formation. Back to punt is Dalen Bender for
the Indians.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Back deep to receive is Grady Stewart for the Pioneers,
snap to the up back.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
They're gonna fake it and the he's met right at
the line to gain and falls forward. He's right on
the line and they're signaling first down.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
But it is close. It is close, and the one
of the line judges heading short if.

Speaker 33 (31:58):
It was the line, if if it was the forty five,
and they gave him the.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Forty five, and it's going to be a first down
for the Indians. Little trickery early for Valley. Yeah, that
was to McNeil, I believe there. He just went straight
up the middle.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
You know. It was a gutsy play.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Call right there at midfield and barely got it just
by an inch that nose of the balls on that
guard line. I'm kind of surprised they didn't measure it,
but that was really close. So now Zane trace, you know,
Valley's getting a little bit hyth them here. You gotta
gotta get a big stop conaway in the shotgun. Motions
laundry across the line of scrimmage. Now motion is another one,

(32:36):
and that's a give to McNeil. McNeil gets the edge
and gains about five yards.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
The intwo Pioneer territory.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Second down and five a bit of a pattern we're
seen by Valley as they're running to the wore that
big side of the field where they have more room
to show off their speed there. Yeah, that was McNeil
for about a five yard game second down and five
into Pioneer territory, empty formation. Four receivers to the left,

(33:08):
motioning across the formation is logan. Motions is back and
it's a screen pass to him and he's met there
right at the line of scrimmage by Jaden Higgins. He's
made some really nice plays here to start this game,
and just you know, really coming up from his safe
from his safety spot, there to no game right there.
Here is another third and five for the Valley Indians

(33:29):
to see ifs at Christ can go.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Off the field.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Third and five for the Indians. Crab chief sins in
the play to Conaway. Conaway breaks the huddle. It's gonna
be three in the backfield for the Indians. McNeil and
Aaron two receivers to the right, one to the left.
It's an option to the left. Conway is gonna keep
it touched it upfield and pushed out of bounds. It's

(33:53):
gonna be short of the first down. It'll bring up
about a fourth and three. Yeah, it's gonna be another
fourth down here. I'd be surprised if if Valley chooses
the punt there. But I was a really good job
by number five Lucas Euler. It was more that option play.
He played both guys and was able to kind of

(34:14):
take Valley off that place.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
So now really big down here, four to three. I
would say that Amazon analytics say go for it on
this one. What do you think?

Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah, I think you're right, and I really would not see.
You know, Conaway hasn't really tried to throw it down
the field. So we're looking for this option play and
go to that that bigger side of the field with
Aaron to his left McNeil to the dright, takes the
takes the ball and he's gonna screen pass to the
left side.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
McNeil.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Where are they gonna mark him out of bounds and
they're gonna give him.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
The first down?

Speaker 3 (34:40):
But there's a flag on the play. I believe that's
gonna be a legal lineman downfield for the Valley. Indians
kind of took a little bit too long to develop,
and offensive linemen for Valley got down the field, and
that's what it's gonna be. He threw it to the
back out of the backfield, but he did get all
the way to the line of scrimmage when he caught
the ball, So I believe they're gonna call it what
you said, lineman downfield, But they are certainly talking about

(35:04):
it because if he caught it in the backfield, it's good.
But if he caught it at or beyond the line
of scrimmage, it is going to be ineligible downfield. Yeah,
you're right, and he was really close to that line
of scrimmage, so it'll be interesting to see and I'm
not sure where they marked the ball, if it was
short or if you did get that first down, it
was close there. So if they do pick up the flag,
be interesting to see where they mark that. And if

(35:26):
they decide to measure. There's a long discussion still talking
about it there right at the line of scrimmage. We'll
see and if they keep the penalty. Valley's got a punt.
You would think it'd be a fourth and you know,
twelve and they are waving the flag off, so it's
going to be a first down and it is going

(35:46):
to before the Valley Indians. It'll be first and ten
at the thirty four. Yeah, they must have just you know,
they had a line of downfield, but it must have
just been in where he caught that they determined to
be behind the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
So the player's gonna stand. New set of downs for Valley.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
Conaway and at quarterback breaks the huddle Aaron Nick McNeil
to his right and left. Two receivers to the far side,
one at the bottom of the field. Snap goes to Conaway,
hands it to air and up the middle and he
is stuffed at the line of scrimmage by number fifteen.

(36:31):
That is Hudson Williams. We're gonna Williams. We're gonna say
a lot of Hudson Williams. And that's the first time
we've seen Valley run right up the middle other than
that fake punt. And Hudson Williams came flying from his
linebacker spot to fill that hole and meet Aaron there
in the backfield for a loss of about one leading
tackler for the Zane Trace Pioneer defense, Hudson Williams, a

(36:51):
junior eighty four tackles on the year, first team All
SBC member, and making a big play for a loss.
And we second and eleven, empty backfield for Conaway. Moses
is in Aaron, Aaron across the formation. He's going to
the conway to the right side. He's met there right
at the line of scrimmage by guess who, Blake Brower

(37:11):
and Bryce Johnson.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
Yeah, Brower again. He took that right tackle. He was
trying to block him and just kind of threw him
off with one arm and then grabbed the quarterback with
the other. So really good job by Brower.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Now it's gonna be a third and long and Hudson
Williams go back a few plays ago where you hit
him right there out the middle. That sets the tone
and that's gonna affect Valley's play calling to where they're
gonna not gonna want to go down the middle run
between tackles. We're having a stoppage on the field here.
Not sure what it is, but we will have third
and long. I believe it's having an issue with the

(37:49):
play clock, so they are gonna keep They're gonna keep
the play clock on the field.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
It looks like as they're going to turn the end
zone clocks off. All right, af they're ready for play.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
It's Connaway in the backfield motioning and McNeil, McNeil getting
the wheel passed to the right side and he is
met there by Jayden Higgins.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
For no gain. We'll bring up fourth and long for
the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah, just a little bubble, little bubble passed there to
McNeil and Blake Brower almost he recognized that play because
it's been a couple of plays that Valley's done that.
He almost had a pick right there to go all
the way to the house for a pick six. But
again Jadan Higgins coming up from his safety spot making
a big tackle Now this is a fourth and eleven.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
See if a Valley decides to throw it down the
field three times.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Jaden Higgins coming from his deep safety position to make
a play in the backfield at the line of scrimmage,
fourth and eleven, Conaway in the shotgun formation, Aaron to
his right side, three receivers to the right as well,
back to passing Conway looking deep up the middle.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Higgins is right there and he deflects it.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
What a defensive stand there by does Aint Trace, Pioneers
and Jayden Higgins all.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
Over the field. Yeah, I thought he was gonna pick
that one off. But just a good job to bat
that down. Now, Zane Trace is.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
Gonna take over on downs that was intended for Isaiah
Clark for the Indians. It'll be Zane Trace ball at
the where we at the thirty four here going across
the field, five h nine left to go in the
first quarter.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Yeah, and uh, you know, Zane Tracy got that stop.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
There was a couple of penalties and uh, while penalty
got picked up and then that fourth down conversion that
they gave up earlier in the drive. But you got
out of that drive with no points and you get
a chance to just set the tone. Give it to
Bryce Johnson and Jayden Higgins, uh and see if you
can just you know, set the pace of this game.
Senior quarterback Gunner McCalla takes the field for the Zane
Trace Pioneers. He's got the SVC co Back of the

(39:47):
Year Bryce Johnson behind him as well as Jayden Higgins
under center.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Tosses it left side to Johnson, Johnson.

Speaker 13 (39:55):
Turning his legs for a gain of about one.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Yeah. What you're gonna see from Zane Traci's they're really
going to try and run between the tackles. They really
want Peter offensive linemen to open up hole, Sir Bryce Johnson,
Jaye Higgins didn't even Gunner mccallough.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
But you'll see Gunner McCalla go more off the edge there.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
So a little bit more of an opposite running style
from Valley who loves to get outside the tackles. Connor
Williams with the tackle there for the Indians. Mccallaugh under center,
Johnson and Higgins behind him, checks over to coach WIRs
for the play back under center, snap handed Johnson up

(40:31):
the middle, turns for about two.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
That'll be third down for the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Looking at the Pioneers offensively, left tackle Blake Brower, left
guard Blake Payne, center Connor Smith, right guard Lane Reeves
and right tackle Evan Myers on the outside for the
Pioneers at Hudson Williams Lucas, oiler, Grady Stewart, and Mason Hartley.

(40:58):
Third down and six for the Pioneer under center is McCalla,
Bryce Johnson and Jalen Higgins behind him.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
To give is to Johnson again he's.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Met right at the line of scaring scrimmage by a
host of Indians for no game that'll bring up fourth down.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Yeah, just nowhere to go up the middle.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
I thought the off the fund did a really good
job of opening up a whole for him, But Valley's
linebackers is a really good job of just filling that hole.
It looks like, you know, Zane Trace is gonna punt here.
But what we're gonna see from Zane and Trace when
it comes to that third and five is we're gonna
see more Gun mc callaby in the shotgun rather than
under center, just to be able to have his feet
for an option to pick.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
Up the first out punt.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Team on for the Pioneers preston lane to kick booming
kick down the field, lands at about the thirty takes
a bounce and and that'll come to rest right there
at the thirty line guard line.

Speaker 4 (41:53):
We'll take a quick break.

His hometown high school football coverage on ninety four Country

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Conway with the pass of the outside that was picked
off by Grady Stewart.

Speaker 4 (43:15):
Grady Stewart, it's gonna take it in for his Ain Trace.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Pioneers touchdown right out of the break and into the
end zone. Are the Pioneers.

Speaker 14 (43:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
And Grady Stewart did a really good job there. There
was they were trying to throw a bubble screen what
we've seen a lot from Conway. He's not really throwing
it down the field, but a bubble screen, and Grady
Stewart recognized that from the jump and jumped that play.
Jumped right in front of the receiver and no one
in between him and the end zone. Easy touchdown for
Zanine Trace. And that is a big tone setter if

(43:49):
you're the Pioneers, you know, being able to score from
that defense and not having to have your offense out there.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Preston Lane in for the extra point. It is up
and good.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
And really that's you know, Zamee Trace is doing a
really good job of you know, Hudson willis making that
play down the middle. Valley's gonna have to change their
play called Roy don't want to go down the middle,
run outside of the tackles. Now you're taking away one
of their best pass plays, which is really that bubble screen.
So you know, Zamee Tracey are doing a really good
job here, you know, having that momentum from their defense

(44:24):
and they're stepping up big in this game, big plays
by the same Trace defense. So far, the offense went
three and out. McGrady Stewart said, we can still score
on the defensive side of the ball. Preston lane to
kickoff for the Pioneers back deep to receive is conaway
kick is short to the left side, bouncing and it

(44:45):
looks like it's gonna go out of bounds, and it does.
It goes out of bounds there at the thirty six.
So I believe Valley will pick the option for five
yards from the thirty six and they'll take the ball
at the forty one. Yeah, I don't know if that
was just a miskick or they were trying to place
it specifically there on the side of the field, but
that's gonna be a costly mistake. By Day and Trace,
they you know, get the big play with the pick six,

(45:07):
and you know, now you've got Valley's going to kind
of a really good start to this drive with great
field position, the free kick out of bounds, we'll make
it first in ten, Valley at the forty yard line,
Conaway back in at quarterback, Coach Crabtree calling in the play.

(45:36):
Conway breaks the huddle. He's got Aaron and McNeil to
his right and left, two receivers to the left side,
one to the right, sweep up the middle.

Speaker 4 (45:47):
Conaway keeps it and he's gonna get about five yards
and we've got a flag coming in late as.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
We had a scrum there, so I couldn't really tell
what it was. Yeah, it was another playfake there where
Conway chose to keep the ball run right up the middle.
I don't know, it's gonna be a face mask and
Valley's gonna get fifteen yards.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
Out of to this five yard run or not. That
was one of the first.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Times we've seen Valley test the Pioneers defense up the middle,
the first time being on that fake punt, and so
that was a face mask on the Pioneers. That'll be
a fifteen yard penalty from the end of the run
to make it about a nineteen yard gain in total,
and we are into Pioneer territory.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
Yeah, you have that penalty to go along with the penalty.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Off the kickoff kicking out of bouncer. Now you're at
Zane TRACE's forty yard line for a valley. So you know,
again you want to see a nice little stand by
Zane Trace and you know, see if we can force
him out of the u of getting points on this draw.
Two thirty seven and rolling here in the first quarter,
Conaway alone in the backfield, McNeil in motion across the
line of scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
Neil gets set Conaway.

Speaker 3 (46:54):
Takes it up the middle and he's met there by
a Pioneer and falls forward for a gain of one.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
I believe that was number thirty three. Was that think
who that was? No, that was a guest who on defense?
That was Blake Brower. That's like k you know, didn't
look like valleys blocked him there and.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
He did a really good job getting from his defensive
end spot right up to the middle and grabbed Conaway
there by the legs for a game of about one yard.
Good job of Brower not getting upfield but moving right
down the line of scrimmage and containing Conaway for a
short game. Conaway in the shotgun He's got Aaron to
his left side, shotgun snap handed to Aaron going to

(47:35):
the right side, getst the edge had a little bit
of a crease, but he's quickly taken down there by
Bryce Johnson of the Pioneers. Bring up third down in
about six. Yeah, that was a big hit right there
by Bryce Johnson. But again, Blake Brower was in the
backfield there. He kind of disrupted that run a little
bit and took Aaron off his his mark there. But

(47:56):
now it's gonna be another again, third and six for
so we're gonna se if they're gonna put the.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
Ball in the air.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
We're just trying to get it from two runs here,
since they're definitely a four down territory. Thirty third and
six from the Pioneers. Thirty seven Conaway in the shotgun formation,
Aaron to his left, snap is to Conaway, fakes it
to Aaron, takes it on the left side. He's got
a crease and he gets about seven or eight there,
four first down. That was the best run of the

(48:24):
night by Conaway. He had that really nice playing think
to Aaron and really had a lot of space off
five six yards of space was able to take off
and get that first down here for the Indians forty
eight seconds and counting here in the first quarter, first
and ten for the Valley Indians from the zane trace
twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
Conway breaks the huddle.

Speaker 3 (48:49):
He's got Aaron to his left, three receivers to the
right side, one to his left, ocean across the formation
motion again by McNeil.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
McNeil takes the jet left side.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
And gain's about four before he was taken down there
by Johnson and Oiler. Yeah, Oiler did a really good job.
He was getting blocked and he also was able to
stick that one arm out and take the defender out
and then also bring the ball carrier down at the
same time with some help there by Mark Bruce Johnson.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
So that'll do it here for the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Your scores ain't trace seven the Valley Indians nothing. This
is the accurate heating and cooling and plumbing game of

Speaker 1 (50:35):
His hometown high school football coverage, I'm ninety four Country WKKJA.

Speaker 3 (50:43):
Welcome back to Valley High School. That first quarter was
brought to you by Homes Home Loans by Jin. The
only scoring in that first quarter was a thirty six
yard interception return for a touchdown by Grady Stewart. In
the second quarter, starts with the Valley Indian second and
five hand off to the right side. Aaron's gonna pick

(51:06):
up about four there, bring up fourth It'll be fourth,
third down and three. Sorry, third down and three from
the Zane trace twenty one.

Speaker 14 (51:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
Again, I was right up the middle, so you know,
Valley's starting to try and run it right in between
the tackles.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
But again getting down close to the red zone.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
I'm really expecting them to go to the right here,
which is where we had that more space for them
to show off their speed.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
Conway breaks the huddle.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
He's got Aeron to his right side, two receivers to
each side of the formation, shotgun formation, Carton thinke the Aaron.
Conway's gonna take it the right side, bad idea. He's
gonna be taken down for a loss of about six
and that'll bring up fourth down and ten.

Speaker 4 (51:50):
First guy there was that was Lucas Oiler. Lucas Oiler.

Speaker 3 (51:56):
He did a great job of beating the right who
was trying to block him, and did a really good
job of bringing down Conway in the back of This
is gonna be a long field goal attempt. This is
a forty five yard field goal attempt. Valley and field
goal formation. Snap will be from the twenty eight. The

(52:16):
hold is at the thirty five snap hold block there
by the day Trace all is live picked up there
and Hartley he's going the other way and nobody's gonna
get him. Mason Hartley touchdown Zane Trace. So Valley tries
a forty five yard field goal. He was blocked there

(52:38):
and Hartley goes the other way too. Scores not by
the offense so far for his Aine Trace and Mason
Hartley's a wide receiver known for his speed. He was
able to get past the field goal blocking team right
there by Valley and block that kick and did the rest.
Took it all the way to the end zone for
a fifty five yard blocked field goal return for the touchdown.

(53:03):
That was a sixty five yard of my bout Trey.
We've seen three plays for four yards by the Zane
Trace offense, and yet they're winning forty five to nothing.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
Sorry, fourteen to nothing. I can't even speak. And that's
what you need.

Speaker 3 (53:14):
You need these big plays from your special teams and
your defense, and Sane Trace has gotten that so far.

Speaker 4 (53:20):
And we're just starting here in the second quarter. So
you know, a really good job by by uh, you know,
their defense and their special teams showing up for Zane Trace.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
Preston lanez bat is up and good makes it fourteen
to nothing with ten to twenty five left to go
in the second quarter.

Speaker 4 (53:36):
This second quarter is brought to you by shine on
chilicothay dot org.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
And that was a long field goal a tif. I
was kind of surprised that they were gonna, you know,
take a chance there. I know was a fourth and eleven,
so it probably wasn't gonna go for a play and
you're too close to punt. But you know, going forward,
if it is a close game, we're gonna see I
was a Jalen Bender, the kicker for Valley. If they're
gonna kick him from forty five yards, that could be
a big, big indicator here in this game if it

(54:03):
does get closer. But you know, Zane Trace having that
fourteen point lead, taking the kicking game out the staff
was bobbled a little bit. I don't know if that
messed up Bender any but good penetration up the middle
by Zane Trace gets it blocked and Mason.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
Hartley does the rest.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
Preston Lane in kickoff formation back to receive is Kindaway
along with McNeil and Aaron Pooch kick field of deer
at the twenty one of the sideline. Is McNeil gets
about eight on the return and gets it to the

(54:45):
thirty five. Well, if you're saying Trace going into this
next defensive possession, it's just more of the same. You
want to be able to, you know, keep Valley from
having these trunk plays, especially with a fourteen point lead.
Valley may try and you know, go deep that playbook
to try and get a really big chunk play to
change the momentum back to Valley's favor, but it was
Dane Trace. You gotta stay true and you know a

(55:08):
lot of misdirection here by Valley here in the backfield
with the fakes and the read option, so you know,
you gotta stay true and have these linebackers get their
eyes out of the backfield.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
And just you know, read the keys. Ten twenty one
left to go here.

Speaker 3 (55:23):
In the first half, Conway in shotgun formation, read option
to the right side. Conway's going to keep it, turns
it upfield and gets about three hosts of Pioneers there
for the takedown.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
Good job and.

Speaker 3 (55:37):
Then moving down the line. I believe that was Bryce
Johnson and Lucas Oiler there.

Speaker 4 (55:42):
For the tackle.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I think it was the right read by Conaway. Just
to not be able to flip that back, it looked
like it would have been a loss. We will to
flip it back to Aaron, but a really good job
just getting those two to three yards for Valley. Another
stoppage on the field, the officials are conversing about something.

Speaker 4 (56:00):
Well the play claucus or the game Calucus stopped.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
Well they stopped now, okay, yeah, we're not always privy
to the information that the refs stop the clock four.
But anyways, a minute uh tenh eight and rolling the
second down and eight for the Valley Indians. Conway and
shotgun formation, Aaron to his left side, three receivers to
the left.

Speaker 4 (56:24):
Tight end to the right.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
Shotgun snap is Conway dropping back to pass looking up
the left side, and.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
That is intercepted. Zame Trace.

Speaker 3 (56:36):
We got flags on the play at the end of
the play. Yeah, that was Grady Stewart that just had
that interception there. But I think after the play it's
gonna be unsportsmanlike conduct by Zane Trace, so it's gonna
set him back, but it will be Zay Trace ball
with another take with a nice job in coverage. There
was three Zane Trace Pioneers that could have picked that
one off. But Grady Stewart is gonna come up with

(56:57):
his second I n T of the game that was
at the fifty yard line.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
I believe the fifteen yard is gonna back them up,
so it'll.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Be first and ten for the Pioneers at the thirty
five yard line.

Speaker 4 (57:08):
When we saw Valley they're trying, that was kind of
right there.

Speaker 3 (57:12):
There was more of that that gadget play where they
wanted to try and get something downfield. Zane Trace did
a really good job of not you know, losing their
eyes without ballfake and staying in front of the keeping
everything in front of them and Grady Stewart again, like
you said, second pick of the game, this Zane Trace
defense has two picks. And if you're going with the

(57:33):
special team's two touchdowns and now it's up to the
Zain Trace offense where you really want to just run
the ball, stay true to your game, and take some
time off the spot. But we finally get to see
the Zane Trace offense again. That's gonna recall an under
center toss is to Johnson on the right side. He's
got some space and bowls his way to a gain
of about six and we've got another flag at the

(57:54):
end of the play.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 26 (58:00):
Right now.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
I'm not sure who this.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
You would think if it came after the play, we're
gonna have another unsportsmanlike It was a five yard gain
officially for Johnson. Yeah, I think it's gonna be on
Zane Trace. Probably unsportsman like conduct after the play. So
they're gonna moving back after that run, which was about
six or seven yards there.

Speaker 4 (58:21):
But here we are filet on the valley. Indians.

Speaker 3 (58:26):
Oh, take up fifteen added on to the end of
the run near by Johnson, so it'll be a twenty
yard gain in total.

Speaker 4 (58:35):
It'll be first and ten from the indians forty five
yard line. We didn't see anything there, you know.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
We it was a little bit after the play, but
all I saw was coach wears take one of his
players out and something out, So I figured that there
was a penalty there for on Zane Trace. But uh yeah,
this is a really big call right now because Zane
Tracey is gonna be in valley territory around the forty
five yard line, nine and forty two left to go
in the first half, first and ten for the Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
I'll call a calling the play in the huddle.

Speaker 3 (59:10):
And if you're Zane Trace, you got nine thirty left
to go and you're gonna get the ball at the
second half. So just stay true to your game, stay
on the ground, run between these tackles, and you know,
just keep getting these four or five yard trunks. Gonna
recall it under center and off is too Higgins Higgins
up the middle. He's gonna have a game of about
three there. Good job by the left side of the

(59:31):
offensive line, Brower in pain to get a push.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
He wasn't touched for the first two yards, but then
he was taken down right away on the third.

Speaker 26 (59:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
Jaye Higgins is also is a really capable runner behind
Bryce Johnson. He had you know, six touchdowns, forty five
yards and about seven seventy rushes, so he averaged about
six and a half yards per Carrie during the season.
So when you got Johnson van Higgins both back there,
valley defense has.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
To be wary of two capable runners that could take
him to the house at any time.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Tracing the huddle eight forty left to go in the
first half, I'll call to the line of scrimmage under
center Johnson and Higgins in the backfield.

Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
Hand off, he's to Johnson.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Johnson slide stepping and he's getting behind his lineman and
they are pushing him forward for a gain of five.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Good strong run there by Johnson.

Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
Yeah, it wasn't much there, but Johnson got hit about
two yards into his run and he was able to
finish that run and also got a little bit of
help from his his offensive lineman. But that pushed him
for the last three or four. So now it's gonna
be third and or short for Pioneers. Eight h five
and rolling third down and two for the Pioneers. Mcallo
brings him to the line of scrimmage under center Higgins

(01:00:46):
and Johnson to the backfield. Two receivers of the right.

Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
Side Williams across the formation. Hand off is to Johnson
in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
He was hit there at the line of scrimmage, but
able to fall forward for three yards and a first.

Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
Down for the Pioneer. Is just another powerful run by Johnson.

Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
He got hit one yard into his run and just
finished it and fell forward for about three or four.
So another new set of downs for Zane Trace. As
we're running under eight minutes ago in this second quarter,
fourteen nothing. The Pioneers lead was seven thirty left to go.

Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
In the first half.

Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
We've seen a lot of gunnmer colleges under center, and
I think as we get later into this game, if
it gets a little bit closer, you're gonna have mccallaugh
in the shotgun. Then they can have a few options,
a few more options with him not under center.

Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
Mccaullaugh under center.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Hand off is to the left side, that is Hudson Williams,
and he is gonna be brought down for a gain
of four. But we've got flags in a backfield. I
believe there was a little bit early movement. I don't
know why they didn't stop the play. Yeah, I thought
they would. It kind of looked figure's two guys in motion. Yeah,
legal shift for Zane Trace. There's two guys in motion.

(01:01:57):
And then there's also a holding penalty on that run
that went to the outside, to the left side of
the field. So it looks like Zaane Trace is gonna
be set back another ten yards here for about a
first and twenty. Yes, so it would be a ten
yard penalty from the line of scrimmage, So it'll be
first and twenty for the Pioneers. But if you're Zane Trace,

(01:02:20):
you do not need to feel like you need to
throw the ball. You've got, you know, plenty of time
and you're really capable of running the football.

Speaker 4 (01:02:26):
So just keep running the football for the next two
or three downs.

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
You know, have run some of this clock out, so
you can get the ball here in the second half
with a fourteen point lead. We have yet to see
mccallall throw it, throw a pass in this game. Mccallaugh
under center, drops back and hands it to Higgins. Higgins
on the right side. It's gonna push his way forward
from about a game of four being up, second down

(01:02:51):
and sixteen for the Pioneers from the Valley forty yard line. Yeah,
we might see probably here soon. We'll see McCaulay here
in the shotgun and he is a very capable throw.
We've seen him throw the ball and he puts him
on a rope, so he's a really good thrower. But
I really want to see his legs. So, you know,

(01:03:12):
Zane Trace can with with Valley maybe biting on some
of these runs by Johnson and Higgins having him keep it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
Maybe get a little bit of trunk play and change
the outlook on this drive.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Second and sixteen, calla back under center Johnson, the loan
back behind him, counter played to Johnson. Johnson met at
the line of scrimmage by a host of Valley Indians.
Good job there by. It looked like number thirty Connor
Wilson in the backfield for the Indians. Yeah, and also
number twenty one Tyler Carver. They had a really good

(01:03:42):
job of just meeting Johnson there in the backfield. It
looks like Zamee Trace might have missed some of the
blocks there. But now is real interesting. Third and seventeen
for the Pioneer, So I would assume that they're gonna
run this and then you know, punt it down, try
and pin.

Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
Valley deep if they can't pick up the first down.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
Five thirty left in the first quarter. Mccallaugh in the shotgun.
First time we've seen this empty backfield. Mccallough back to
pass screen, passed to the left side, cat there by Williams.
I'm sorry that was Hartley. Hartley, nobody can bring him down,
but he's still gonna be brought down short of the
first down, and that'll bring up fourth down for the Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Be fourth and four. Let's see if the coach Weiers
decides to go for it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Here it's five minutes and rolling. Like you said, Harley
refused to go down. He broke some tackles and that
really really nice jukes there. He's really quick, as we
saw on that blockfield goal for a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
Now, yeah, it's really interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
It looks like Zay Trace is gonna go for it
here about fourth and four, fourth of five, and we
got mccallaugh.

Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
In the shotgun again.

Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
McCall in the shotgun, Higgins to his right side, two
receivers flanked out to each side of the formation, Putson
Williams wing to the left side, and Coach Weirs is
gonna call a time out to think about it. We'll
take a quick break here. This is the accurate heating, cooling,

Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
Fourth and five out of the time out McCallum and
the shotgun rolls to his right. He's got partly opening
the flat and pass is no good, be incomplete turnover on.

Speaker 4 (01:06:25):
Downs for the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Just a really nice play call by Zaying Trace. He
got Hartly wide open and it hit him right in
the hands. Maybe thrown just behind him, but yeah, that
would have been an easy first down, maybe even a
touchdown there.

Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
Just a nice play call.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
But you know, now it's four thirty five here in
the second half, are in the second quarter. Zame Trace
takes over on defense to try and hold a fourteen
point leude as they get the ball here at the
start the second half. So, uh, we'll see if you know,
they can go into the half with a fourteen point
lead instead of a less four thirty five left to
go in.

Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
The first quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
And it looks like we're gonna have a change at
quarterback number four hundred Cunningham and for the Valley Indians,
he drops back the pass he's got Clark downfield. No,
he goes over to McNeil on the sideline and that'll
be a large game as he is knocked down there
by McCollough asking a game twenty four yards right there

(01:07:20):
by McNeil. Really good jobs, really nice throw by Cunningham.
Placer writing a bucket right there to McNeil. Really tough
hit by mccallough. But now Valley, they're here, they're moving.

Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
He had Clark open over the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
I thought that's where he was going, but McNeil wheeled
up the sideline from the backfield and that would be
a gain of about twenty five or so into Zane
Trace territory. Yeah, like I said, that was a really
big hit by mccauay. He's down on the field now
and they've stopped play here as he's just sitting on
the ground receiving attention by the athletic training staff of

(01:07:55):
zaant Traas. So we'll take a quick break here. This

Speaker 41 (01:08:40):
I think that for the sake of the fact that
I know people want to hear those songs, you should
go back to those places emotionally and kind of channel
what you were feeling when you originally wrote it. So
you kind of have to plug into channeling and old emotion,
which is just kind of the same thing that actors
do when they're on camera.

Country w KKJ.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Out of the injury time out, it'll be valley ball
first and ten from the forty seven to the right side.

Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
That is going to be Aaron.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
Aaron met at the minus scrimmage been able to fall
ahead for two yards over to make the stop was
Hudson Williams for the Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
Good job of.

Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
Game tackling there by Zane Trace. Aaron was really trying
to shift his way out of there. He's really quick
there in the backfield, and you know, good job by
Zay Tray stumping the line of scrimmage and Gonna McCall
walked off off the field under his own power. Looks
like he was kind of messing with his arm his
shoulder area there too. So we'll see if that affects
day and jury scoring forward because he is the quarterback,

(01:09:47):
and we'll see if you know, it's more just on
the ground for them cutting him in the shotgun for
the Indians, He's got Aaron to his left side, two
receivers to the left, one to the right, tight end
to the right side of the formation. Snap is the
cutting him fake to Aaron. He's got McNeil in the slot.
Higgins right there, almost had another interception, just dropped it

(01:10:09):
and there was nobody that was gonna get him if
he caught down.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Yeah, he jumped the route there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Really good read by Higgins and he would have been gone,
like you said, So another big play there. Now it's
gonna bring up a third and long for the Indians
here third and seven, cutting him in a quarterback, not
a big surprise, Like we said in the pregame, Valley
going with the two quarterbacks, cutting him more of the
passing quarterback than Conaway is the running threat. Connaway is

(01:10:39):
in the shotgun formation with Aaron to his left side,
passed up the right side looking for Clark, and Clark
is gonna be out of bounds right around the first
down marker. Let's see no signal yet, and they're gonna
give him a first down. Just a good job by

(01:10:59):
Clark knowing where he had to get to and he
got eight yards, broke that route off, came back and
got the first down just barely in a really nice
story by cutting him. We've seen him make some really
good throws here late here in the second quarter. Three
minutes left to go in the second quarter, Valley into
the Pioneer's territory. Be first down and ten from the

(01:11:19):
thirty eight yard line. Motion across the formation. Motion again
McNeill snap across center hand is to McNeil on the
left side, and he's gonna get a good game, probably
about ten yards or so no signal yet for the
first down, he was brought down by Williams and I
think he'll be just short be second and one great

(01:11:41):
job right there on the left side of the offensive
line and the receiver over there by holding their blocks,
gave McNeil space to run and got a nice chunk
there nine yards second down in one, two thirty eight
left to go in the second quarter, cutting Ham in
the shotgun formation, airing to his rights, three receivers to

(01:12:01):
the left side, one to the right, across the formation
is Lundy.

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Now McNeil jet sweep to the right side is McNeil and.

Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
He's met right at the line of scrimmage and that
is Hudson Williams again the leading tackler for this Pioneer defense. Yeah,
Hudson Williams again from his linebackers spot just flew through
the hole there as they tried to run outside tackle
and met him right at the line of scrimmage. There
were have a timeout with two twelve left to go
in the second quarter. Pioneers lead fourteen to nothing, and

(01:12:36):
with Cunningham coming in, we've really seen a different offense
by Valley. It's more of that pass first and also
on all the run plays. He doesn't seem to be
a threat to run. He's more just that handoff. Unlike
Conaway where you got to account for him. That's another
body that you got to be able to watch. So
with Cunningham, I think Zanterius is really starting to figure out, hey,
he's not going to run the ball if they're going

(01:12:56):
to do a play fake. So they're really doing a
really good job of getting upfield and stopping some.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Of these running backs for a gain of nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:13:05):
I would say a time of possession right now is
absolutely dominated by the Indians, but they still have no
points on the scoreboard yet, as it is fourteen to
nothing for the Pioneers. Two special team or defensive touchdowns
for the Pioneers, one thirty six yard touchdown on the
interception by Greatest Stewart and Mason Hartley taking a blocked

(01:13:26):
field goal fifty five yards back to the house, and
gunner mccallaugh is back out here on defense where Zain
Trace looks like he was just banged up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
Now he's back in out of the time out.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
It'll be third and two cutting a Ham in the
shotgun formation, Aaron to his left through receivers to the
right side. He's got two men shifting here, Aaron to
the right side now. McNeil motioned to the left side
and hand off up the middle. Aaron, he is stuffed
right at the line to gain. We'll see what the
signal is. He uh, it'll be fourth down. Just sure

(01:14:04):
he's going to be fourth and one. They try to
just get the first down straight up the middle. A
minute fifty and rolling, no timeout for Valley coach crab
she's looking at it.

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
I don't think he's going to call.

Speaker 8 (01:14:18):
A time out now.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
He's talking to the ref again. I think he wants
him to measure it. Yeah, you're right, he definitely wants
him to measure it. He's going to call a time
out now. Now he's going to call a time out.
Minute thirty eight left to go here in the second quarter.

Speaker 4 (01:14:31):
It is really close. It might be a first down.
I don't know if they're going to measure this, but
it is right right. It looks like a.

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
First down to me. I think that's from this point
of view. Coach Crabtree didn't want to burn a time
out there. He thought he would get a pre measurement.

Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
He was talking to the official, but they were adamant
that it was not a first down.

Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
So we'll have a time out here with a minute
thirty eight. Pioneers lead fourteen to nothing. Valley Indians driving
on the Pioneers thirty eight. I'm sorry, twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
And having to use that time out.

Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
Valley's got one time out left with a minute thirty
eight here here in the second quarter, so that could
come back to fight him. You know, since the time
is running out here and Zane Trace again, they're gonna
have ball to start to have. So it's a really
big momentum swing for Valley that they could convert here.

Speaker 4 (01:15:22):
Fourth and we'll say.

Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
Inches out of the time out, new formation, We've got
the power. I look for the Valley Indians cutting him
under center, McNeil at the fullback and Aaron at the tailback,
and it's gonna be qb sneak of the middle. He
did not go far forward, but I think he got
the few inches he needed and is gonna just spend
on no signal Yetna. He was stuffed, but.

Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
Able to get a couple of inches and that'll be
a first down.

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
I think Zane Trace is a little surprised too, that
he was just gonna have that quarterback sneak because Cunningham
hasn't ran the ball ever since he's been in more
of that handoff to either McNeil or Aaron. So yeah,
with the clock running here, we're, you know, Valley's running
out time here. Zane Trace definitely with the size advantage
up in the middle with Reeves and minor shotgun formation, Cunningham,

(01:16:15):
Aaron to the left side, three receivers to the left side,
tied end to the right, pop pass out to the
right side. It'll be a hitch pass air caught and
taking in two inside the fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
That'll be another.

Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
First down with a minute left to go. That was
number two Lex Logan.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
It looked like it was going to be that screen
pass again, but then those blockers went downfield and really
good great by Cunningham just to fait to know that
you know that that pop pass or not pop pass,
that that swing pass isn't there, and that slant was
so yeah, now they're inside the red zone fifteen.

Speaker 4 (01:16:49):
Yard line and the clock is still running.

Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
Forty five and rolling coach Crabtree calling into play, Cunningham
getting everybody set shotgun formation, Aaron to his left.

Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
Two receivers both sides of the for may Snappy's the
cutting him. Looking to the left side.

Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
He's got McNeil out there, but that pass's going to
go out of bounds and that'll stop the clock. With
thirty four seconds left to go in the second quarter,
he's second and ten from the fifteen yard line. Whise
decision right there, cutting him. There was nobody open. Didn't
want to put that in hardsway, just threw out a
bounce just to stop the clock. Valley huddling, Crabtree gives

(01:17:26):
cutting him the play. He runs it in and when
thirty four seconds left, Valley still has that timeout. So
if they do want to run the ball, they can
maybe cutch sane trace off guard here and run it off.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Tackle and you know, maybe potentially get into that end zone.

Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
Here at fourteen yard Hune shotgun formation Aaron to the
left of Crabtree, sorry cutting him, cutting him back to
pass looking up the left.

Speaker 4 (01:17:48):
Side for McNeil. He cut it, but that was out
of bounds. That was in the end zone.

Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
He tried to type rope the sideline, but just momentum
took him out of bound. What it catch the I
mean he's barely out of bounce. It was a good
throw by cunning him just maybe an inch to the left,
and he was not able to get his foot down.

Speaker 4 (01:18:09):
Looked like Higgins and.

Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Mccallough were over there in coverage board zaying traces, good
defense and just it was a good throw, just out
of bounds where only his guy could get it. So
to be third down, twenty eight seconds left to go
here in this second quarter, cutting him in the shackgun
Aaron to his left side, two receivers to the right,

(01:18:32):
one to the left, fakes the hand off and we
got a stoppage. Looks like coach Trattory didn't like to
play he had called so he called the time out
very late because we got the snap off and it
looked like we were running to play when the whistle
was blown. Yeah, not what you really want is having
to call time out there while the clock is stopped.
So now if you get caught in bounce here, it's

(01:18:56):
it's gonna be a little bit of a rush with
twenty I believe it's gonna be twenty eight seconds.

Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
Maybe a second came off on.

Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
That clock, but really a big momentum chance just to
be able to you know, for both sides. If Valley
can score here, they're going to the half with some momentum.
Even though Zinet Trace gets the ball to start the
second half, you've got points up on the board and
you cut this lead in half. But on the other side,
if you're Zane Trace, you get to stop here and
you got fourteen point lead with you're gonna get the

(01:19:23):
ball here and to start the second half.

Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
That's just that's gonna be that big thing.

Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
Uh for Zaane Trace, just maybe get the ball and
run the clock out here in the second half, no
timeouts left for the Indians, so anything in bounds, they'll
need to get to the ball quick. It is third
and ten, so they will not be able to spike
the ball unless they get inside the four yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Yeah, Zane Trace is playing right there.

Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
Their safeties and you know, so their corners too, right
there at that four yard line. So they're trying to
keep everything in front of them. The not let them
get into the end zone.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
Not gun formation for cutting hand.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
Two receivers to each side, Aaron in the backfield motion
looking to the right side.

Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
That ball is picked off by Higgins, and Higgins.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Got all kind of room down the sideline at the fifty,
at the thirty, at the twenty one man to beat
and he got him wind down there by Aaron at
the fifteen yard line with.

Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
Fifteen seconds left to go, it'll be first.

Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
In ten Pioneers. And I tell you what, Aaron Higgins
is having himself. I'm sorry, not Aaron Higgins, Jayden Higgins
is having himself a heck of a first half. Yeah,
that throw by Cunning it was just a little late
on that route, and Higgins was able to read that
and be able to pick that ball off and he
almost took it all the way. I think it was
Aaron that did a good job by Valley to trip

(01:20:45):
him up at the sixteen yard line. But now you'res
ain Trace. Not only did the Valley not get any points,
now you got a chance to up the game and
get a twenty one point lead going into half and
get the ball. This is a really big momentum change
and to two timeouts. So Zane Trace, fifteen seconds, two timeouts,
you're gonna get four chances at the end zone. It'll

(01:21:06):
be first and ten for the Pioneers. Fifteen seconds left,
ball is at the twenty. I'm sorry the sixteen yard line,
mccallaugh under center, Bryce Johnson, the loan back Higgins in
motion across the formation, mccallough back to pass. He's got
a guy in the end zone and that is cot
He caught it and he's in number twenty Mason Hardley.

Speaker 4 (01:21:29):
What a play.

Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Wow, What a throw and what a catch by Mason Hartley.
He didn't go up too soon because he had that
the fender in front of him and he kind of
had that lnate reaction, which is what you want to
do as a receiver, so that corner doesn't have a
chance to get his hand up there, and he tiptoed
on the back of the end zone there for a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (01:21:48):
What a throw, What a catch.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
Twenty one yard passed from mccallaugh to Hartley makes it
twenty to nothing Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
Preston Lane for the pat It is up low kick
and it was pushed left and no good.

Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
I'll make it twenty to nothing Pioneers with eight seconds
left to go in the first half.

Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
That's just, you know, really big by Zaye Trace.

Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
They're going up twenty to nothing into the half most
likely with you still eight seconds here in the second quarter,
and getting the ball to start the second half. You
couldn't ask for a better way to end the half
for Zaane Trace. And again Mason Hartley.

Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
What a catch.

Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
And also he had that block field goal, so he's
really shown up here tonight and he's done a really
good job. And again really right strove by Gunna mccallo.
Zaine Trace to line up to kick here with eight
seconds left to go in the first half. I'll tell
you what, the story of this first half has got

(01:22:52):
to be the Zane Trace defense, not just because we've
seen him the whole game, but because they've made plays
and they've scored two touchdowns on their defense and set
up a big one there at the end of the half. Yeah,
I'll set up right there by Jade Higgins just again
football instincts was able to pick that ball off and
not only just go down there, but take it almost

(01:23:13):
all the way to the end zone. Ends with Zane
Trace points and now you know, Zane Tracey just want
to kick this ball off and not give up any
dumb plays here to in this half and go into
the locker room lane ready to kick conaway back deep
for the Indians. Coach kick to the right it's gonna
go out of bows. Yes, it was gonna go out

(01:23:35):
of bounds. It was very close to being recovered there
by the Pioneers. But it's gonna go out of bounds
at the forty five yard line, sorry, at the thirty five.
So again the Indians will elect to take five yards
from there on the free kick out of bounds and
it'll be first and ten Valley with eight seconds left
to go in the first half, and Zane Trace just

(01:24:02):
want to keep everything in front of you here. You
don't want to get beat deep with you know, cunning
Ham up still here in the as the quarterbacks are,
they're gonna try and maybe push it down the field
a little bit. Eight seconds not much time to do anything,
but you know they might have a you know something
up their sleep.

Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
In the shotgun formation cutting hand and he's.

Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
Going to take a knee and they'll in the first
half here from Valley High School, the Pioneers twenty, the
Indians nothing. This is the accurate being cooling and pulling

Speaker 42 (01:27:25):
Well, you have reached half time here on your game
on iHeartRadio. This is Todd Walker, your host for the
halftime huddle. Time now to bring in Brian Contulio, the
head coach at Hope Well Loud And High School. He
also happens to be the current president of the Ohio
High School Football Coaches Association.

Speaker 4 (01:27:43):
Coach, we appreciate you taking time for us, oh thanks
for having me well Live.

Speaker 42 (01:27:48):
First of all, congrats on another successful season you have
going there with the chieftains. Hopefully you'll have a long
run and you come the postseason. But let's start there
with the postseason. Of course, the expansion to sixteen teams
per region a couple of years back drew some consternation
from the Coaches Association, and now this year, the Board

(01:28:11):
of Control for the OHSA relented and went with the
twelve teams per region that features a buy for the
top four teams as an association. Then overall, this is
much more palatable for you guys.

Speaker 14 (01:28:25):
Well yeah, you know, when again going back to little
little history here, you know, this is the plan that
you know, we put together. You know, we spent a
lot of time going through and listening to coaches from
around the state, and you know, this is what was
happening with the with the eight team in each region.

(01:28:46):
You know, there was starting to be a pretty good
number of eight and two teams, seven and three, even
an occasional nine to one team that were getting left out.
And most of us don't have a huge control or
flexibility within our schedule based on our conferences, so it
really felt like we were punishing some teams for things

(01:29:07):
they couldn't control. If you go eight and two, nine
and one, I think you deserve a chance. And so
you know, we came up with this plan. The twelve
in the region was a good compromise. And then we
all know, you know, COVID hit and a lot a
lot of crazy for a couple of years there and uh,
you know, the the year we played half a season

(01:29:28):
and everybody got in and you know, the OHSA at
that point kind of went out on their own and
decided to make that move to sixteen. And again, you know,
as an association, we listened to our people, and you know,
we we had pretty strong feedback from coaches around the
state that you know that that wasn't the the best

(01:29:51):
plan for for all of us. And again we just
continue those conversations, continue conversations with the OHSA, and and
now we're here, here we are.

Speaker 42 (01:30:03):
Yeah, and now teams will have to deal with the
buy of some of them the top four in each region,
and that'll be a new thing for high school football,
at least in the state of Ohio. Are some of
the coaches trepidacious to find out whether a buye is
good or bad?

Speaker 14 (01:30:17):
Here? Yeah, well, you know, and it's gonna it's obviously
going to be when the first guy that gets a
buy and loses, well, then of course is horrible and
it's bad. But you know, I mean, that's that's just
the way it's going to go. But I mean, look
at football, I mean in general, you know, and in
the state of Ohio, high school. You know, there is
no other level of football to play sixteen straight weeks, right,

(01:30:39):
I mean college colleges have buys. NFL has buys sixteen
straight weeks game every single Friday. And again, you know,
this was the feedback we were getting from, you know,
the coaches who.

Speaker 32 (01:30:51):
You know.

Speaker 14 (01:30:53):
Very routinely make those deep runs, and it was just
it's too much. It's physically really demanding on kids. And
I'm a small school coach. You know, we have a
ton of guys that go both ways, and you know,
asking kids to play fifteen sixteen weeks both sides of
the ball without ever having a break is is just

(01:31:14):
it's a lot. So you know, I don't I don't
see the buy being a negative. Again, you know it's
going to be if you have a buy and you're
you're beat up and you get a buy, coaches are
going to love it. Try to get healthy. You know,
anybody that has the buy and loses, they're going to
blame the buye. But whatever, I think it's I think
it's a good thing. And we'll give the majority of

(01:31:35):
the time the teams that are playing in the state championship,
and there's a few exceptions, the majority of them are
coming from those top four seeds.

Speaker 42 (01:31:43):
Absolutely, And Brian Controlio is our guest. He is the
head coach at Opwell Loud and he is also the
president of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association. Another
thing I think was really driven by the coach's input
was this idea of giving your coaches some more time
in the summer to officially work with players on the team.

(01:32:04):
Not full organized practices or anything like that, but just
more contact during the summer. Take us through how that
has expanded here recently and what now you can do
as opposed to what you used to not be able
to do.

Speaker 14 (01:32:18):
Yeah, it's again, it's giving us a chance to work
with our kids. And you kind of see some of
the things that are happening in other sports, and honestly,
I'm afraid football it's heading this direction. But man, there's
a lot of you know, you get the gurus and
the you know, the guys, the trainers and this and
that and that are you know, taking you know, taking

(01:32:40):
money from kids, and you know, maybe you don't always
have the kid's best interests in all of this. And
I think what this expansion does is it allows the
high school coaches who are in the building, who have
relationships with these kids and parents, to be the ones
that are working with these kids. And you know, I

(01:33:01):
think that's something that you know, we felt very strongly about,
because again, they're going to go, they're going to go
do it somewhere. Why not have it be the people
that have the most invested in the kids and and
care about them and and there their well being, so
they'll give me giving us a little bit Again, you know,
it's limited. We're not going eleven on eleven, we're not

(01:33:23):
having contact year round. You know, we're not beating these
kids up in football. But the skill development and the
you know, the the individual work that they were going
to go find somewhere is now more in the hand
of the high school coach.

Speaker 42 (01:33:40):
And let's talk about other things that have developed here
recently with the Football Coaches Association. I believe this past
summer was the first time that you officially sponsored the
seven on seven State championship. I guess take us through
the education and expansion of seven on seven here.

Speaker 14 (01:34:00):
Yeah, you know, we again, we did this for a
long time and and you know, we had the the
tournament down in Columbus. We had a pretty good turnout
and again, you know, it just seemed like COVID and
we we didn't do it for a few years. Kind
of became a tougher thing, I'm finding officials, so it
just kind of got put off a little bit. And

(01:34:23):
you know Brad Birchfield from from the Columbus area. He
he's the guy who really took took this on himself
to to try to get this going and the idea
of having regional tournaments so not everybody you don't have
to travel, you know, and you know, be doing it
by division and just giving everybody a chance to have
a couple more days to to compete and to again

(01:34:46):
seven on sevens exploding. I mean, it's gonna be an Olympics.
I mean, that's a it's gonna be a big thing.
You know, girls' flight football is really starting to to
be a thing. So you know, giving our again, giving
our coaches and a chance to work with our kids
and our teams and compete with something that was important
in association.

Speaker 42 (01:35:07):
Really appreciate coach Contrilio taking time for us here on
the Friday night Blitz. His team headed toward the playoffs.
Yet again, by the way, we appreciate coach Controlio taking
time for us this week is hope Well, a Louden team,

told me earlier tonight he'll actually be at Bluffton scouting

Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
Your score here at Valley High School.

Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
The Zane Trace Pioneers twenty the Valley Indian zero. In
a half that was dominant time possession by the Indians.

Speaker 4 (01:39:02):
The Zane Tray.

Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
Scored first on a thirty six yard interception by Stuart
and again on a Mason Hartley fifty five yard block
field goal return for a touchdown, and then right there
at the end of the half, with eight seconds left
to go in the second quarter, it was Hartley twenty
five yard reception from mccallis set up by the big

(01:39:26):
Higgins interception returned down to the twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:39:30):
We'll go over to Trey. Look at some stats from
that first half. Yeah, starting with the Valley Indians.

Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
They were led and rushing by McNeil who had five
carries for twenty one yards, and Anthony Aaron had eight
carries for sixteen yards. And then we saw Braxton Conaway,
who really didn't play much there in the second quarter,
as you know, the focus shift of more of a
passing game, who had nine carries for fifteen yards, and
then we saw Hunter Cunningham come in. He was three

(01:39:56):
for six passing forty two yards and threw two in.
And for the Pioneers, they were led and rushing by
Bryce Johnson. Quiet day for him so far. He had
seven carries for nineteen yards because see a lot more
of him in the second half. And Jayden Higgins, who
had two carries for six yards. We saw govern mccoughs
throw the ball a little bit. He was three for
three for twenty four yards and a touchdown. All of

(01:40:19):
those passes were to and caught by Mason Hartley, including
that touchdown there at the end of the half, tiptoed
there in the end zone. And then on defense, Stewart
had two interceptions and Higgins one of those was returned
for a touchdown, and Jaydan Higgins had one interception as well.
And then on special teams Mason Hartley again had that

(01:40:42):
blocked extra our field goal attemph by Valley and returned
it to the end zone for a touchdown. That's the
story here. We'll look at our old We'll look at
our Mill City Apparel scoreboard. Out of town Fortsmouth West
is up on Summit eight to nothing. Bloom Carroll up
seven to six on Lynden McKinley, Circleville ups fourteen to

(01:41:05):
seven on Filo to Kylie, down twenty one to seven
to McNicholas, and Miami Trace up forty nine to nothing
in the first half against Hillsbrough.

Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
We'll take a quick break and be back to look

Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
Welcome back here to Valley High School, where the Zane
Trace Pioneers lead that the Valley Indians twenty to nothing
at the half, Trey looking forward to the second half,
it's just so obvious right now that the Vallee is
just nominating the time of possessions. But Zaan Trace is
making the plays and that's why they're up twenty to not.

Speaker 4 (01:43:02):
Yeah, does a Trace have you got all the momentum here?

Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
Going to the second half of up twenty to nothing,
Zane Tracey's defense has played lights out and they are
one of the main reason they're up twenty to nothing.
I think here in the second half, Zane TRACE's offense
needs to come out and set the tone. Get these
chunk runs about four or five yards every time and
just run this clock out and just you know, really
set the tone here on this first ride. So really big,

(01:43:26):
really big chance for Saint Traces to completely take over
this game and you know, take away all the momentum
that Valley does will have potentially coming out of the
half that they get a three and out.

Speaker 4 (01:43:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:43:39):
We talked to coach Weirs on Wednesday in that interview
and he talked about, you know, their goal every week
is to shut out their opponent and not let them score.
And it's a tough task, but so far they've done
it and that's kind of been their mo on the season.
You know, we talked about only giving up seven and
a half points in their last seven when they've got

(01:44:02):
rolling here. Yeah, and you know, like you said, uh,
you know, just a really big chance for Zane Trace
to put this game away here in the second half.
You cannot have a three and out and just quickly
get value back on the offense and for them just
to start getting a rhythm because Valley cans score points.
So they have a you know, a high powered offense
where they can you don't throw the ball. It's actually

(01:44:22):
done a really good job at picking off cunning him,
but he's really came with throwing the ball. And we'll
see if Conaway gets back in there and can maybe
get some chunk runs there.

Speaker 4 (01:44:29):
For the Valley Indians, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
We didn't get to see much of that Zane Trace offense,
so they really don't have much of a rhythm going.
It's been a lot of big plays on the defensive
side of the ball. The first time they got possession
they went to they had a.

Speaker 4 (01:44:44):
Three and out. So if it, if it ever came
down to his ain, Trace really does need to get.

Speaker 3 (01:44:50):
A chance to get that offense rolling and well they'll
have the ball here to start the second half. This
is the audio Technica half can report on ninety four
Country WKKJ.

Speaker 14 (01:47:25):

Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
It's a you know, really good job by all the

coach that I'd like to shout out because she does
a lot of stuff including uh taking care.

Speaker 4 (01:47:37):
Of our wonderful daughter at home all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:47:39):
So uh yeah, you know, good luck to the Warriors
tomorrow where they play at Logan and chance to get
back to the state as they were last year. So
really good job just by Adenna to repeat and make
it back to the regional finals. But you know, I
know their season is not done and they they got
their they're focused on the game of one, looking for
another trip to the Nutter Center for the Warriors to

(01:48:03):
play in the state tournament. At a halftime, it'll be
Zane Trace football. First time we're going to see Valley kickoff.

Speaker 4 (01:48:13):
This will be Jalen Bender to kick off for the Indians.
Back deep for the Pioneers that is Mason Hartley and
looks like Jaden Higgins ready to return. Bender does have

(01:48:33):
a good leg. I mean we saw him line up for.

Speaker 3 (01:48:35):
That forty five yard or programming note says he usually
puts it in the end zone and that one's going
to be close to it and that one is just
well into the end zone.

Speaker 4 (01:48:45):
So that was a Trace.

Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
Pioneers will take over at the twenty yard line. Yeah,
he's definitely got a big leg there. So now xan
Trace coming out, you really just want to set the tone.
Get these chunk runs. And it was a Bryce Johnson
only had seven care he's in the first half and
Higgins only had two carries, so nine carries between the two.
We're gonna see a lot of Bryce Johnson Jayden Higgins

(01:49:06):
here in the second half as Zane Trace Tart put
this away, and you know they really want to go
with Higgins and Johnson, but it all comes down to
that offensive line for Zane Trace, who has been able
to move people all year, but now this is one
of the most important half of year.

Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
Just to finish off this game, Like you.

Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
Said, Dane Trace looking to get some offense rolling to
start the second half. Icall it under center Bryce Johnson,
the loan back Higgins motions across the formation, hand off
up the middle of Johnson, Johnson hit their air for
a gain of about three stopped there first by Blake Lundy. Yeah,
and just these little games of three four yards. They're

(01:49:44):
tough runs by Johnson because he's finishing these runs and
falling forward, So they're gonna it's gonna take a toll
on this valley defense as Dane Trace really tries to
run between the tackles. Here we second down and six
four were the Pioneers called breaks the huddle under center

(01:50:06):
Johnson the loan back two off set to the right side,
tossed right to Johnson. Johnson around the outside. He's gonna
pull his way forward for another game of four. And
now we'll bring up third down and one. That time
they went outside tackle with a little toss to the
right short side of the field for Johnson.

Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
Good job. I uh, you know I mentioned Sane Trace.

Speaker 3 (01:50:26):
Offensive line really gonna have the block, but also these
receivers are gonna at the block. Uh and really just
you know, get these chunk plays by Zane Trace. Now
it's kind of a big down, third and short. You
really want to convert this, get a new set of
downs in stead they getting the ball right back to
the valley. I'll tell you what, when Johnson gets his
shoulders turned on the outside, that has gotta be a
scary thing coming downfield. Mccallough under center, Higgins and Johnson

(01:50:50):
in the backfield hand off up the middle for Johnson,
he's gonna fall forward for a game of three, and
that would be enough for a pioneer first down. The
You gotta just gotta keep stacking these runs together, moving
the chains. And Johnson again fell forward on that run.
So he's always gonna get these these one two, three
yards of game just by falling forward. A calla calling

(01:51:16):
to play for the Pioneers. As they break the huddle,
head to the line of scrimmage with the mccallaugh under center,
Johnson and Higgins in the backfield. Stewart to the wing
on the left side, motions to the right side.

Speaker 4 (01:51:30):
That's Williams Higgins on the right side. He's gonna break
through it and he is gonna be gone.

Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
Nobody there to get him.

Speaker 3 (01:51:38):
Jaden Higgins a big touchdown for the Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:51:43):
And that's what they do. They just tire you out
and then break the big one.

Speaker 3 (01:51:48):
Jadan Higgins, he got the hand off there, ran between
the tackles, disappeared for a second, then he came out
the other side, no one near him for a sixty
seven yard touchdown. Run Jadan and Higgins, and that's that's it.
If you got another back behind Bryce Johnson that can
just you know, give him a little spell, little break.
With Jayden Higgins fresh, he doesn't have to run the

(01:52:10):
ball very much. Takes the old Indians of Jade and
Higgins doing it all tonight. Extra point from lane is.

Speaker 4 (01:52:17):
Up and good.

Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
That makes it twenty seven to nothing, the Pioneers over
the Indians.

Speaker 4 (01:52:23):
We'll take a quick break.

Back here Valley High School. Lane kicks it deep and
that is Conaway. Conaway returns good return, gets it up
to the thirty five yard lines where the Valley Indians
will take over first and ten trailing twenty seven. Is
nothing here in the third quarter, injury time out on

(01:53:57):
the field, and.

Speaker 4 (01:54:02):
There is a Valley Indian player.

Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
Yeah, I'd be curious to see who Valley is gonna
go with quarterback here, it looks like it's gonna be Conaway.

Speaker 4 (01:54:09):
We saw him really keep the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
He wasn't really into throwing the ball down the field,
so it was Valley can't get all these points back
at once, so really trying to see this these chunk
players running outside the tackle trying to get some savassa,
you know, for their playmakers. That is Conaway back and
at quarterback. He's in the shotgun formation with Aaron behind him.
McNeil split out to the right, three receivers to the right,

(01:54:34):
one to the left. Shotgun snap is kept to the
right side there by Conaway. Conway looking for the edge
and he is tracked down there by Grady Stewart for
a gain of about five. Yeah, good run by Conaway.
It was more of that that zone Reid option and
you know Wake Brower went towards the running back. So Conway,
we meant, made the right raid and kept that got

(01:54:55):
outside the tackles. Game of all five or six h
so good chunk play right there by the battle call.

Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
It six would be second and four.

Speaker 3 (01:55:04):
Conaway back in the shotgun, Aaron behind him, three or
eares to the left, one to the right. Conway catches
the snap, hands it off, No, keeps it around on
the right side.

Speaker 4 (01:55:17):
Again he's gonna get the edge and gain about Call
that five and give him a first down.

Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
Yeah Conway again he cut the ball, got outside the
tackle and uh, good job. I was at number six,
number six for Zane Trace, that is Jake's staffer. He
did a good job from his corner position not letting
Conway get behind him, because if Conway got behind him,
he might have gone all the way to the end
zone there. So that's what for Zane Trace. He cannot
let those plays allow value to get a quick score.

Speaker 27 (01:55:48):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:55:48):
Just keep everything in front of you. Shotgun formations for
the Indians. Conaway with Aaron to his left, hands off,
Aaron to the right side, met there by a host
of pioneers. Looks like Oiler there to bring down Aaron
gain of one. It looks like Oiler. And Hudson Williams

(01:56:10):
we've said a lot of him tonight. We knew coming
in he was gonna be the key to uh to
stopping Valley's defense. And he's played a pretty good in
pretty big game here tonight eight twenty in rolling here
in the third quarter's third quarters brought to you bite
chillikthy truck Saint Trace Leeds twenty eight twenty seven to
zero Conaway in the shotgun formation, Aaron to his left,

(01:56:34):
three receivers to the left side looking left is Conaway
and that pass he's gonna go incomplete looking for Clark.

Speaker 4 (01:56:48):
It was a little rpo there.

Speaker 3 (01:56:49):
He faked the run, passed it to Clark who got
behind the backer, but the pass was a little low
in behind him.

Speaker 4 (01:56:56):
Bring up third down and nine for the Indian. Yeah,
just a little bit of under throw.

Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
So yeah, it's a big down third and nine per
Valley and Zane Trace You're fine if you give up
five or six yards each time.

Speaker 4 (01:57:08):
You really just want to keep them in front and
not letting them get behind you.

Speaker 3 (01:57:11):
You can't have these quick plays turned into two touchdowns
and points on the board for valleys. Shotgun formation for Conaway,
back to pass, looking over the middle. He is hitting
that ball comes out forward, but they're gonna say the
arm was going forward and that'll be an incomplete pass.
Bring up fourth and nine and you guys can probably
guess who hit the quarterback there. That was Blake brour again,

(01:57:32):
the SBC Defensive Lineman of the Year. He's again, like
Husin Williamson's had a huge night here tonight, and it
kind of looked like he got held by the left
tackle there and still was able to get to the quarterback.
So now a chance for Saint Trace to get off
the field and get the ball back to their offense.
Offense staying on the field for the Indians crab free.
He signals in the play to Conaway. Conaway breaks the huddle.

(01:57:56):
He's got airing in the backfield. Three receivers to the
left side, tight end to the right, Conaway rolling left,
throwing back to the right.

Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
That's Lundy.

Speaker 3 (01:58:08):
Lundy is hit at the line of scrimmage and he's
taken out of bounds for no gain.

Speaker 4 (01:58:12):
That'll be a turnover on downs.

Speaker 3 (01:58:14):
Yeah, Valley's trying to have a gadget play there where
they look left and throw it back right.

Speaker 4 (01:58:19):
Gunnar mccallough was not having any.

Speaker 3 (01:58:20):
Part of that and then made a good bread and
the tackle for a gain of nothing and a bigger
part he's gonna get the ball back on offense, his
ain Trace takes over around midfield. He was taking out
the bounds right up the fifty yard line, so that's
where the Pioneers will take over first and ten was
seven forty nine left.

Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
To go in the third quarter. A policy because that
was not Gunnar mccallough.

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
That was Lucas Oiler who made a really good tackle
there from his defensive end spot. Zane Trace breaks the huddle,
mccallaugh under center, Johnson and Higgins in the backfield, tossed

(01:59:03):
right to Johnson.

Speaker 4 (01:59:04):
Johnson looking to get the edge.

Speaker 3 (01:59:06):
It looks like he does, and he's dragging a defender
for a game of ten and it looks to be
a first down for the Pioneers.

Speaker 4 (01:59:14):
Yes, good job by right tackle I think that's it.

Speaker 3 (01:59:21):
Yeah, Evan Minor did a really good job of seal
on that edge there, and then once Johnson was able
to to get to him, he bounced outside and uh,
you know, got about ten yards there.

Speaker 4 (01:59:31):
Sane Trace does a good job of getting the edges.

Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
But they got two first teamers on each side, yeah,
and two first teamers in the backfield. So yeah, this
offensive line is is really good for Saint Trace. McCalla
under center, Johnson, the loan back Higgins and Williams crossed
the formation.

Speaker 4 (01:59:52):
Mccallough back to pass.

Speaker 3 (01:59:53):
He's pressured in the backfield, He's got a man open downfield,
and that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:57):
Is complete to Hudson Williams.

Speaker 4 (02:00:00):
Hudson Williams little play action pass kind of fooled me there.

Speaker 3 (02:00:07):
Yeah, it's gonna be about gain of sixteen yards, gonna
be inside the red zone for the Zane Trace Pioneers,
and it looked like Hussin Williams is open earlyer mccullo
wanted to get him the ball, but Valley was getting
in the backfield there. They got a little hit on
McCulla so he had to hold the ball.

Speaker 4 (02:00:22):
And run out. Really good job of him buying time
and still hudstsin Williams is open. In the next game,
first and.

Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
Ten for the Pioneers from the eighteen yard line, McCall
under center, toss left, Johnson cuts it up and he's
gonna bull his way forward for another good game. That
looks to be six yards. Yeah, we've seen Johnson what
this is five or six carries here in the second half.

(02:00:50):
He's averaging about eight yards of carries. So you know,
this is exactly what you wanted to see if you're
a coach. WIRs is just giving the ball to Johnson
and Higgins, who had that big run, is running this
clock out and you know, making Valley earn all these
tackles because Johnson has falling forward and he is laying
some punishment every time that he's getting tackles. Second down

(02:01:10):
and four, mccallaugh under center, Johnson the loan back hand
off up the middle, and we're gonna have a stoppage
before the play and it looks to be like a
false start on the Pioneer, so that'll back them up five.
Make it second and nine. It's a little antsy there

(02:01:37):
up front for the Pioneer. Zine Trace is trying to
take all this time down, uh, and just trying to
run this game out and maybe even get some more
points here in the rents of six' ten left to
go in the third, quarter second and nine for The.
Pioneers mccallaugh under Center, johnson the loan, back the Handoff

of a crease and he gets it down to the
seven yard.

Speaker 3 (02:02:07):
Higgins, yeah good play design right there With higgins as
he kind of came from that tight, end a little
bit more of that upback position and a little bit
more of a misdirection, there and, Uh higgins was able
to get the edge and he also finished his, run
got a one to two more yards through A valley.
Defender first and goal from the seven yard. Line mccallaugh

(02:02:30):
under Center johnson And higgins in the. Backfield McCalla hands
it To johnson up the. Middle he's met there at
the line of. Scrimmage good push up front by The Valley. Indians,
yeah that's the best job we've seen From valley defensive
line getting into the backfield and just actually winning that
play against The Zane trace offensive. Line who's who's really

of reach for The Valley. Indians you really got to

(02:06:30):
give a good job to Well Jade higgins having that
sixty seven yard touchdown, run but then also Just Zaying
trace grinding on that last drive and getting get more points.
There so you, know it's been a really good job
By Zane. Trace where you know it was still a

It almost made a mistake To Grady stewart cutting him

(02:08:27):
in the shotgun, Formation aaron to his right, side three
receivers to the, left snapped by cutting him dropping back
looking over the middle and he completes it, there looks
Like Isaiah clark for a gain of. Twenty, yeah that's
one of the cunning as best throws of the. Night
he kind of placed the right in a bucket To Isaiah.

(02:08:49):
Clark really good job, there game about sixteen yards ninety
seconds and rolling here in the third quarter would be
first and ten for The indians at the thirty nine yard.

right and he's just gonna throw that one out of.
Bounds good defense there by The. Pioneers nobody was. Open,
yeah good job of getting in there on. Defense it

(02:09:27):
Was Lane, Reeves Blake brour and Even Evan minor got
in there for the pressure to just mc counter cunning
him uncomfortable and he had to get rid of that.
Ball he's second down and ten for The. Indians fifty
seconds in rolling here in the third. Quarter pioneers hold
to thirty ford to nothing, lead cutting him in the shotgun,

(02:09:50):
Formation aaron to his, left three receivers to the, left
one to the, right cutting, him catches a, snap drops
back to pass looking to the right side For Braxton,
conaway and he's gonna catch it for a big. Game
about thirty five yards down to The pioneers twenty nine
and The Valley indians are threatening his score here late

(02:10:10):
in the third quarter And, yeah a good route By
Conway moore with just that slant.

Speaker 4 (02:10:15):

all the. Way a game of about twenty yards after
and Four.

Speaker 3 (02:10:20):

Quarterback he's Got aaron to his right, side three receivers
to the, right one to the, left hand up the
middle To. Aaron aaron is mated there By Hudson. Williams
that was another big hit By Hudson. Williams he's gotten
really What i've noticed is he is really. Fast once

(02:14:30):
he sees that balls handle, off he's going all the
way into the. Backfield he is shooting a bullet in
there and that was just a real tough. Hit will
be second and seven for The. Indians cutting him in
the Shotgun aaron to his, right three receivers to his,
right one to the, left shotgun stamp by Cutting ahm

(02:14:54):
drops back the pass looking over For Lex.

Speaker 4 (02:15:33):
Pass that ball is.

Speaker 3 (02:15:35):
Tipped there By stewart and incomplete bring up fourth. Down,
Yeah Grady steward almost had another interception. There he used
all of his athleticism and he he reached up. THERE
i don't think he had a chance to even touch that,
ball and he tipped, it almost came down with. It
so really good job By Grady, stewart who's.

Speaker 4 (02:15:55):
One of the Notable Zane trace. Pioneers here hanging nine
minutes rolling in the fourth, quarter forty one. Nothing The
pioneer's lead cutting him in a shotgun, Formation higgins to
his right.

Speaker 3 (02:16:13):
Side it's Not, Higgins aeron to his right, side back
dropped back the path up the middle and almost picked
off again By Grady, seward but it was worked down
and that'll be a turnover on downs for The. Indians
give The pioneers the ball at the thirty four yard, no.

Speaker 4 (02:16:31):
Sorry thirty nine yard.

Speaker 3 (02:16:34):
Line it looked Like Grady steward was gonna come down with,
that but uh wide receiver For Valley Nick queen was
the one that broke that. Up he kind of turned
into a defensive back there once he Saw Grady stewart
had a good beat on it and it got into his,
hands but couldn't come down with. It eight minutes left
to go here in the fourth. Quarter looks like we're

(02:16:57):
gonna have some substitutions for The. Pioneers number Eighteen rice
and Pain in at, Quarterback Levi marshall beside him in the.

Speaker 4 (02:17:08):
Backfield, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:17:17):
Shotgun snapcot there and we're gonna have a pre snap
penalty on The pioneers out back them up five. Yards

sweep to the, right able to get through the first.

Speaker 4 (02:17:57):
Line Of, Indians it'll only be a gain of one.

Speaker 3 (02:18:01):
Yard spring up second and. Fourteen, yeah get job By Zame.
Trace just get some of these backups. In with this
game winding down with Same trace having this big, lead
it's it's. Good just get some of these these backups
in and the rest of some of your starters and you,

(02:18:21):

and rolling forty one two nothing The pioneers. Lead this
is The division Five region, nineteen number ten Seed pioneers
in the number seven Seed Valley. Indians full house backfield
for The, pioneers rolling. Right he's got a receiver downfield

(02:18:45):
right on the. Sidelines did he catch?

Speaker 4 (02:18:46):
That looks like he. Did what a passing? Catch that
was number thirty Three Quintin.

Speaker 3 (02:18:53):
Allen, yeah that Was that was maybe one of the
best pass lays we've seen all. Night really good throw
By Bryce, pain but an even better catch right there
By Quinton allen who went sliding down as he was
catching that standing the, sideline got his feet in bound
secured to.

Speaker 4 (02:19:08):
Catch good looking. Catch here by the tight, end sophomore
tight End Quinton.

Speaker 3 (02:19:16):
Allen from the freshman, quarterback getting him a nice some
nice experience there.

Speaker 4 (02:19:24):
Under.

Speaker 3 (02:19:24):
Center now The, Pioneers pittrich is To. Marshall marshall getting the,
edge he's gonna look to turn a corner and he's
gonna go.

Speaker 4 (02:19:34):
Touchdown now he's gonna mark him. Short, yeah they're gonna
mark him a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:19:40):
Short stepped out of.

Speaker 4 (02:19:41):
Bound he stepped out of bounds at the three yard.
Line Levi. Marshall premature touchdown call by.

Speaker 3 (02:19:48):
Me, Yeah Levi marshall got the edge there and he
was running for that end. Zone you could tell he
really wanted, it kind of dove for it at the.
End BUT i think he might have just stepped out
there at the. End so uh, now ain't Tre he's
got a chance to put some more points on the.
Board rice And pain under center for The. Pioneers two
backs in the backfield behind, him and they did a sneak,

(02:20:11):
there but it looked like his left tackle left. Early,
yeah it's gonna be a false start on The. Pioneers
is gonna moving back about five yards still stay inside
the ten yard. Line it's one thing they never catch
The eagles doing.

Speaker 4 (02:20:26):
Leading that's early on that push.

Speaker 3 (02:20:28):
Push, YEAH i think that was more of just a
straight up quarterback sneak from the. CENTER i didn't see
in any push push.

Speaker 4 (02:20:35):
Formation no aiding the. Runner in high school, Football.

Speaker 3 (02:20:44):
Rice And pain under center, Again marshall in the, backfield tossed.

Speaker 4 (02:20:49):
Right that is going To.

Speaker 3 (02:20:52):
Staffer staffer is going to be taken down in the backfield.

Speaker 4 (02:20:55):
For a loss of three or, thirteen number. Thirty Connor.

Speaker 3 (02:21:01):
Wilson Connor wilson down on that tackle for the uh
for The Valley.

Speaker 4 (02:21:06):
Indians it was a really good.

Speaker 3 (02:21:07):
Job he got upfield real, fast and That staffer there
in the backfield three fifty five and rolling here in
the fourth, Quarter pioneers up forty one to. Nothing pain
and Shotgun marshall And staffer flanking, him.

Speaker 4 (02:21:33):
Rolling. Right he's got his, Man Gavin waller.

Speaker 3 (02:21:36):
Out of the backfield and he's gonna be tackled out
of bounds at the seven yard. Line there was another
good throw more than a bootleg there For bryce And
pain as he was on growing out to the, right
and just another good throw there and caught by you
said that Was. Waller Gavin, waller another freshman evering third
down in gold from the seven yard, Line pioneers break the,

(02:21:59):
Huddle pain in the shotgun, Formation marshall to his, Right
stallfer to his, left takes the shotgun SNAP qb pop
pass and it is.

Speaker 4 (02:22:16):
Caught it were the touchdown not on to was that
was That allen looks to be number thirty. Three Quinton.
Allen allen with a couple of big catches on that
drive and he gets.

Speaker 3 (02:22:31):
The touchdown for The pioneers and the good old pop
pass fake THE qb dive and quarterback just throws it
over the middle to his tight end who leaked into the. Secondary,
yeah just a good chubb all round of selling that
that little like they were, gonna you, know run it
up the, middle and Then Quinton allen made a really
good catch off a bit of a high throw By,

(02:22:52):
pain but still that's impressed by the backup.

Speaker 4 (02:22:56):
Quarterbacks extra point was up being, good BUT i think
we're gonna back that one up on a false, start
so we'll do the extra point. AGAIN a touchdown made
it forty seven to, nothing.

Speaker 3 (02:23:11):
Fifty three and rolling on the clock as we get
the extra point From Preston.

Speaker 4 (02:23:16):
Lane back this one up make it a twenty five
yard extra point.

Speaker 16 (02:23:26):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (02:23:27):
Right the lanes kick is up and it is. Good
may get forty eighth to.

Nothing The pioneers lead for a minute twenty left to
go here in the fourth.

Speaker 4 (02:23:38):
QUARTER i tell you, What, tay this one has been
All pioneers and you know a little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:23:45):
Different you didn't have we thought going In Zane trace
would set the tone with their, offense you, know getting
these chunk runs of, three, four five. Yards but it
started off the off the bat with their defense and
their special, teams having that pick six early in the first,
quarter and then that block sixty five yard return of
a fuel goal in the second By Mason, hartley and

(02:24:05):
then another big stop there late in the second quarter
by at The Zaye Trace pioneer, defense which was another
interception we turned it down and then they got more
points there the end the. Half so really good job
by This Zayin trace, defense who like you, said is
filled With First Team ALL svc And Honorable MENTIONED sbc
and even THE Sbc Defensive lineman of The.

Speaker 4 (02:24:25):
Year it's just really good job by them.

Speaker 3 (02:24:28):
Tonight and going forward they're gonna have a little bit
more of a challenge with a team's next. Week not
to say That valley wasn't a good offensive team coming into,
this but you, know, uh pacing one of Them columbus

up you, know in a. Bind the final fifteen seconds

mason thirty three to twenty. Eight if we look at
a player of the game for, tonight who do you,
Think Jayden higgins Or Mason hartley or do we just
split it and give it to. BOTH i mean we'd
have to split it because you could also even throw
in just the timely plays that was made By Grady
stewart and Even Hudson williams And Blake brower just on.

(02:34:46):
Defense it's it's all over the place For Zaine Trace.
Pioneers you had your your star players show up and
got what you needed out of, them and you know
you didn't have to Have gunner mccallough Or Bryce johnson
take over the. Game like they've had to do sometimes
here in recent. Weeks and, Uh Bryce johnson with one
hundred and forty five rushes on the, week kind of
got to save.

Speaker 4 (02:35:05):
It if you got him saved, up he'll be fresh next. Week.

Speaker 3 (02:35:08):
Yeah and that's another thing is they they were able
to just not have to rely on him this whole.
Game and Even gunna, McCullough we saw him leave with an,
injury so he didn't have to throw the ball or
even run the. BALL i didn't have him for any
carries here. Tonight so you, Know Zamet trace got a really,
good good uh opportunity in front of them where they
arrested some of their players and now they got to
go and take a take On Columbus academy next. Week

Speaker 3 (02:36:24):
Forward For Zane trace is you know What Zane trice
is really known for is getting that running game. Going
and now since you got this defense playing the way they,
are you can set the tone next week with your
defense and then build off like they did today and
have those timely runs Like Jayden higgins had that worth
that seventy or sixty seven yard touchdown run there in

(02:36:45):
the third quarter took all the momentimum away From. Valley
