Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is high school basketball on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Now let's head the game site for today's pregame show
on ninety four Country.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Good evening, everyone, and welcome inside Unioda High School. I'm
Shane Colts alongside Lou Postage, and you're listening to Hernstein
Hondai SBC Game of the Week here on ninety four
Country WKKJ. As Lou and I continue down this basketball
tournament trail with you tonight, the Uniota Sherman's the three seed,
the nineteen and three overall, thirteen and one inside the SBC,
(00:36):
the Outright Champions have earned a home game as they
will welcome Logan Elm out of the Mid State League
if Logan Elm comes In seven and fifteen, they finished
three and nine there in the Mid State Buckeye and
sixth place finish, and louis I welcome you.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
I guess that's where I want to start.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
The record seems to have everybody talk in the seven
and fifteen as I've watched this team on film four
or five times and I had them in person, that
doesn't quite make sense. When you look deeper into the numbers.
The point differential is nearly zero, which isn't normal. When
you're eight games under five hundred, maybe that tells you
they've played a lot of close games.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Let's start dat or give us give us your take
on what I think is a pretty.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Talented logan Ogre very talented obviously when you start with
Themia Wall ultra athletic player who can really light up
the scoreboard. But you know, this is a team and
a program that's had success in the past, so you
know they come in you don't want to look at
their record. You just basically look at the program and
you said, you know what, guys, we're gonna be in
(01:36):
for a basketball game tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
We got to come ready to play.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
And really, when you look at this logan On team,
they are a little bit of a tough matchup four teams,
and really when you look at Uniota, I think they're.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Going to have some tough matchups with them as well.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
But that being said, you you had a one of
the best defensive teams around and it'll be after to
see how they attack it. But first and foremost, what
it comes down to is this Unioto last year thought
day we're gonna have a heck of a tournament run
and in the second round, they run into this Logan
Elm team over at Miami Trace, and single handedly, I
(02:12):
think Mamayah Wall just basically put him on his back
and said, hey, we're gonna win this game and go forward.
Uh So, in the back of Unioto's mind, some of
these players have played last year.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I'm sure that's there.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Uh Hey, we got we we need to show that
we are better than this team, and we've got to
come out here and not let what happened last year
happened this year.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
You know, it's been an interesting journey for this Uniota team.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
You go back to the summer, they weren't sure exactly
the timeline of KB Perkins and his health.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
He does return by opening night.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
They get off to a slow start, they lose at
Miami Trace, they end up losing at West Fall. They're
sitting three and two at one point in a year,
and then all of a sudden it kind of ended
up coming together. You and I had the same Trace
game here that kind of as a trampoline effect into
some good non league wins against Circle Gulf House, and
before you know it, only the Jackson loss ends up
(03:03):
being the only bloomstressful way out and they sit here
at nine and three. Your thoughts on UNI ode and
how prepared they are for the postseason, Well.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Number one, I think they enjoy when we're here because
they are. They're undefeated when we come in and do games.
But that being said, I think they're well prepared. I
think they've had their road bumps along the way, they
have learned from those. And as I said, they're not
a team that relies on one or two players. They're
(03:30):
a team that has guys that can step up and.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Do what they do best. Whether it be.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Play great defense and get steels and rebound the ball,
or whether it be make some threes and make things
happen on.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
The offensive end.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
They have multiple guys that can do that for them
and that's what really helps them out.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Well, now that we've looked at both teams, let's kind
of put the match up together. You put your coaching
cap on here, you've got this incredible player and Wall
on the one side. If you're UNI, you're coming into this.
We talked a little bit about it when you and
I had the Chili coffee game. I think what happens
against Logan Elm sometimes you get caught up between throwing
the kitchen sink at wall and trying to really shut
(04:11):
him down. But then you've got speace on the outside.
He said, five six threes in games before Russell Biley.
All of these young men can really really shoot it.
Take me through that strategy a little bit on how
you don't want to get caught in the middle, but
at the same time you sell out one way, they
can beat you another.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
I think with a player like well, when you have
a fantastic player, you're not gonna stop him. I mean
you can say, well, let's hold him under ten, that's
probably not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
He's gonna get his points. And we saw that happen
the other night.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
I think what you want to do is just show
him different looks, have different people guard him and show
him different looks, keep him off balance. That being said,
you want to make sure you play strong defense on
everyone else, and I think that's where you Niota really
is the benefactor there because of the amount of guys
that can play strong defense. I mean can't cut probably
(05:00):
the best defender in the league or around Southern Ohio.
Some of the steals he gets as unbelievable, and then
you look at Jackson Zikafruz. He does a great job
of all on ball defending and KB Pergan is probably
one of the better rebounders of around. So again, those
players are all going to help out on the defensive end.
(05:21):
Matchup wise, when you look at you know, Logan Elm,
I think their matchup is how are we gonna guard Unioda?
Is it gonna end up being something where they go
zone That could be something we see, but we know
Unioda once they get shooting at three, they can really
take off and they can spurt and get three and
four of those going in a row.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Well, and I think it is gonna be a fun
guard matchup because you mentioned cut White Zigafu's defensively, Brady
Neff also a playmaker for Logan Elm at six to
two that can do some different things well. Coming up
on about the five minute mark, we'll step away for
a quick time out and we'll return with them to
continue our pregame cover. Just Shane colmslu postage and you're
listening to Hernstein Hundi. We see Game of the Week

And the best part they accept Discover except Discover in
a little place like this. I don't think so, Jennifer.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
Oh yeah, huh. Discovers accepted where I like to shop up.
Come on, baby, get with the times right, so we
shouldn't get the parachute paths? Did you're making a comeback?
Speaker 9 (06:54):
I think Discover is accepted at ninety nine percent of

twenty twenty four Nielsen.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Report Welcome back to Unioda High School. Here In pregame
coverage of tonight's district quarterfinal, they call it now for
people adjusting to the new seven divisions, This would be
the sectional championship round as we are accustomed to in
(07:23):
normal years. As we take a look at Unioda welcoming
Logan Elm. You know one thing that jumps out at
me tonight's tempo. You know this is a Unioda team
that scores it up around sixty four night Logan Elm
only around fifty. Obviously we talked about in our first
segment there, Logan Elm certainly has some offensive firepower.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Talk to me about tempo a little bit.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
What do you anticipate a little bit tonight early on,
I'm sure there'll be a lot of you know, juice
going in the gym here and some kids once they
settle win. What type of game are you expecting?
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Well, I think Unioda they're a team that can go
either way. They can really go up tempo or they
can play the half court. I think Logan ELM's going
to want to sort of slow it down a little bit.
But when you talk about up tempa with Uniyoto, it's
making things happen on the defensive end that get some
turnovers to make it go happen on the offensive end.
(08:14):
So we'll see how that defense and extended defense if
Unyoto does extend the court a little bit. If that
extended defense does give Logan Elm some problems, they're not
going to want to get into a game where they
get down ten points quickly. If that happens, I'm sure
we're gonna get a time out by Loganilm because they
(08:35):
do not want Unioto to go on runs. Now, we've
seen Uniodo go on runs a lot, especially in the
second quarter right before halftime. They're usually very good at
making runs there to sort of get the momentum on
their side. So that'll be interesting to see how that
goes tonight.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Well, we talked a lot of individuals for Logan Elm.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
We highlighted the defense there have cut Right and Zikafus,
and you know, we talked even about the return of Perkins.
Let's talk about a little bit of the union. You
to All League Backcoard there, Blake Coops, nice all around talent,
does a lot and then you know the SVC Player
of the Year and Blake Pitch. What do you like
about his game?
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Here's the thing about Blake Pitch, I mean, well deserved
player of the Year, there's no doubt, But the thing
of it is he does so many things for his
team that isn't the great scorer. I mean he can score,
don't get me wrong, but he does so many other things.
I'm glad to see the coaches see that and vote
it that way, because, in my opinion, without a doubt,
he is the best player in our league.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Well, the one more question. I wanted to make sure
we hit the kids first there. But while we have
about thirty seconds, your thoughts there on the quarter final
I mentioned the sectional championship.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Do you like the terminology that change there?
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Would you rather these kids being playing for a quote
unquote sectional championship the ninth where they can kind of
archive their success year after year in their programs.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Well, again, one of the things I, you know, had
the fortune of coaching in two different districts.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I coached in Central District.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
We never had sectionals, so it was always a big
district thing. So to me, when I came down here
and we're playing for sectional championships and cutting down nets,
I'm like, wow, you know this is this is interesting.
So to me, it just reverts back to the old
districts to the kids. I don't know, I don't know
how it really correlates to them if they like cutting
(10:18):
down nets for sectional titles or or what.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
But you know it's tournament basketball.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
However you want to put it in a tournament you
need to win to move on, and you know it's
surviving advance.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Well, we really think we've got a good one forty
here tonight we're gonna step away one last time and
when we come back. Why the night's starting lineups and
then the tip off. This is a Logan Elm visiting
Umioda in the Division four district quarterfinal and you're listening
to Hernstein Hunday SCC Game of the Week on ninety

Welcome back to Unio to High School. Shane Colmes lou
posts that chare on the Hernstein Hondi SBC Game of
the Week. Here on ninety four Country wa AJ Tonight
Division four District quarter Final, we have Logan Elm visiting
Uniota and coming up on the starting lineups the entered
player introductions.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Let's take a look at them together here.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
First, for the visiting Logan Elm Braves, we anticipate number
one Zane Seamer, a six foot forward, a junior, and
then Tyler Space is a six foot senior guard, one
of the real elite three point shooters in all the area.
Good versonal talent and Brady Nef, a six to two
junior guard. Then we anticipate Lucas Biley, a six to
(14:33):
one junior, another really good shooter that'll space the floor
for the very talented Demaia Wall, the six to three
senior guard that Lou talked about there in our opening segment.
So again, one more time for head coach Nate Dropsy,
we expect Seamer space, Nef, Biley and Wall over. On
the Uniota side, for head coach Mac Combs, we anticipate
(14:56):
six ' two senior guard Blake Hoops joining the bike
there with five eleven junior the point guard Blake Fitch
in the post, the six to five senior KB Perkins,
and then the two defensive rights out front, as Lou
talked about the great effort that they play with the
five to ten senior Caden cut Right and the five nine.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Junior Jackson Zikafeus.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
So again one more time for coach Colmes, will be Hoops, Perkins, Fitch, cut.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Right and Zickafous.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
And obviously, when you look individually, Lou, the eyes kind
of go to the matchup with Wall and and everything
else is probably a domino effect, but you talked about
in the opening sudden. I think some of the guard matchups,
no matter who Coach Holmes the sides to go on
who should be a lot of fun to watch.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
It should And like I said, two of the best
on ball defenders Zickerfeus and Caden Cutting right. The thing
with Mamaya Wall he is a pretty good sized kid.
I mean you look at him. He's about six two,
I would say, and he's got some strength to him
so he can take down inside. So you know, if
you go with somebody like that, the hype advantage goes
(16:05):
to Wall.
Speaker 13 (16:06):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
But then you could also go with somebody like a
Blake Poops or even a KB Perkins. Now would KB
be able to guard him outside? That would be something.
So a lot of different things that Unioto could try
and be interesting to see how that goes.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
The other day I talked to Coach Holmes about in
the post game the other night following their their clinching
win out at Paynton Valley, was was the depth you know,
we talked about Jack Welch, Isaac Cooy at the guard
positions off the bench. David Long is a Versattle guy
that'll probably get some time on on Wall orf at
some point tonight, maybe even a steamer uh and then
(16:43):
the size of Dawson Mitchell to'll probably show that show
their zone a little bit. Put the six seven the
other night I had him unofficially for like four blocks
and chakes two or three others. So you know they
don't play equal minutes one through nine, but that that
that bench could play.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
A factor in kind of settling people nerve wise night
as well.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
It's tough them all year long, especially those young guards
Welch and Coy really stepping up and hitting some big
shots for him, and as you said, with some size
inside with Dawson Mitchell, he has really come on and
he's made himself a thread inside. We've seen him make
some nice offensive moves, but really it's on the defensive end,
(17:21):
his defensive reming, rebounding, and the ability to change some
shots while he's in there.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
You know, it's a different atmosphere in the tournament tonight.
This place has really started to fill up now that
we come to tip time. Usually we're here during the
freshman JV game, it's already filled.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
Tonight, it fills up.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
If you're familiar with the Unioda Gymnasium, we are opposite
of the benches up in the corner down by the stage.
Unioda and their home whites with logan ELM and they're
away black. Unioda will be going right the left, as
we call it for you, while logan ELM coming back
our left the right.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Toward the stage.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
In the stage in.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Here at Unioda is open with bleachers.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Back there behind with some FAI. Looks like it's going
to be Perkins in wall. To get us started here,
both teams kind of go with a spread tip formation.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Ball goes up and here we go.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Perkins with the back type to Fitch and Unioda will
take the first possession of night and wonder.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
What interesting matchup bear Walls on Fitch.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Which goes right side Zickafous up top the hoops. Good
post feed download of Perkins shot up off the glass
and good kV Perkins right off the backs you up
in Uniota.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Yeah, great, read their scene. There is a mismatch right away,
and they wouldn't right at it.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Neth will bring it up. He'll he'll be guarded there by.
Cut right it is Zickafous on wall now Seamer out top.
That's a Perkins worst seamer match up there. Now to
go back to the cut right there. They try to
get his feet on the back door well defended by Uniota.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Now Neough Bake's.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Cut right in a little bit cut Light cuts him off.
Now it's back up top Viley. Now Wall has it back.
He'll try light wing three point or two strong offensive
rebounds for Logan down. They're gonna get another possession.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah, if you're in uniodo, this is not what you want.
You don't want to give them multiple shots at it.
You want to give them one and done.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
High ball screen, Wall coming off, Perkin shows out on it.
Wall will try another three No good this time defensive
rebound secured for UNIODA. It's cut right out of a
track Cutwright gives it the finch and he'll look the
push a little stop and go move. Tried to kick
it out in the corner to zicker Fish and throws
it away.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Yeah, that was a little bit of out of control there.
Really didn't have the numbers. I didn't think there was
a need to really push it there.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Union.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
It'll pick up in the full court a little bit
now into across the timeline. That's spiece on the drive
shot up off the glass and good Tyler Speace helps
break the pressure and score the basket. Tied it too.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Yeah, he had a really good game the other night.
I was really impressed with him. And right here starts
off good offensively off the.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
High ball screen for Perkins. Try to get downhill poked
away out of bounds. Still gonna be unio to basketball
Sherman's will have an obi under opportunity. Looks like they
go with a kind of a high open box set
out top its hoops. Now, Hoops will reject the ball screen.
Now he'll take the ball screen from Perkins. We'll stop
and go move. He spins mid range jumper shot up
(20:22):
off the off the rim, rolls in my shooters touch
play hoops.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Yeah, really good spin move. Really quick with that spin move,
defense had no chance.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
That comes wall with it off the dribble, guarded closely
by Zika Foos. Now'll get his way to speak. Now
it's nef. Nef will pull up seventeen footer short hits
with a rebound. Looks to push it out in transition,
doesn't really have numbers. We'll kick it back out the hoops.
Hoops will die up a deep right three missed everything
rebound walled Logan out four to two.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Uni Oda just a.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Couple minutes in nef off the penetration back out the wall.
He'll try a left wing three and a got the
mile wall on into the scorning column. Now five for Logan.
El if that comes Fitch left hand ribble up top,
Perkins out. It's left side cut right cut right up top.
(21:15):
Fitch want to get Perkins in the post there again
well defended by Logan own. Bitch hides it up top
and on the crossholder. Let's see if they get wall
on the reach in here.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Yeah, there's been a lot of uh not talking, but
uh clapping between the two.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
That is Wallt's first first foule of the game.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
There. Uni Oda will get it on the ob under
we'll screen the screenerer action. Now they're gonna throw it
out top the Perkins just to get it in. Fitch
will run back out and take it back from KB.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, look for Fitch here to try to attack it.
Maybe get wall of second foul one four.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
High set enter it, hide there to hoops again that
high low. Look, the Perkins is what they're trying to get.
They go left side cut right he drops it into Perkins.
Perkins nice post move opposite Chick to the corner to
zicka Fous free ball, No good seamer with the rebound
for Logan El.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Yeah, that was a good look backside the zicker foods
find him.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I think a better pass. He's able to catch at
and shoot it right away though.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Wall brings it up, started by Zicka foos those right
side and Neth drops a bounce pass. Take it away
by uni Oda. Zicka Fouse runs it down in the
open court, shot up on the glass, no good cut
right tried to follow Loganil knocked it out and now
that was a pretty good body control from Wall. You
had a chance to pick up a second foul ball.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Yeah, and again I think Zickerfou's if he takes that
right to the bucket and don't worry about the defense.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I think you're going to get that in. But think
you worried a little bit too much about who was
coming back.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Then they run a little flex cut action trying to
hit zickafoos off the ob under well defended by the Braves.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
They knock it out of bounds.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Unid it. We'll get it again. Twenty four, first quarter,
five to four logan elm Shane Combs, loop potions, Glad
you're with us. They drop a quick bounce pass into
Perkins shot up, no good, but a foul.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
A nice little wrinkle there on the op under.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Yeah, and again Perkins knows he's got that mismatch there
and he's really trying to take advantage of it.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Well, you meant that Waltz listened at six to three,
noth at six to two. They're more perimeter, So on paper,
you would certainly think Perkins has a little bit of
insight advantage.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Yeah, and he's definitely you can tell he wants the
basketball here tonight. He's calling for it hard. First free throw,
no good.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Give KB a lot of credit he he fought back
pretty hard, had the knee injury back there in the
spring and gets all the way back to opening night
of his senior season basketball. That's a credit to his
his work effort. Second free throw is good. We're tied
at five. Unioda will once again pick up in the
full court. Lay coops giving some outstanding ball pressure against Bay.
(23:56):
Lay pokes it away. Ten Count's gonna start to come
and now they throw it away. Perkins picks it off
Perkins left corner to Zikafoos back out top Perkins. He'll
go right side. Hoops hoops off a ball screen from Perkins,
gets all the way downhill and lays it in.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Blake Hoops gets that left hand.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
He's dynamite downhill.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Yeah, sure is.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
And again good body control there and giving it a
chance to go in by getting it high up on
the board.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Wall forces the action on the on the dribble up
the side. Got Zika foos a little out of position,
Gonna draw the foul. That's Jackson's first. So again that's
certainly something Union it will have to pay attention to
with that matchup, because I can certainly lead the foul trouble.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Yeah, I have a feeling well right now. Jack Welsh
just came in for him, and they're gonna put Jack
Welsh on Namayah Wall all the.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Way in the back cord. It's nef nef guarded by
cut right there. Good ball pressure speech has it now
up top, it's by Lely Flair screen back to space.
He'll try a three, no good. Wall goes up for
the offensive rebound. He gets it, spins shot up. No good,
another offensive rebel at this time taken away by Well
out comes fits with it. He pushes it ahead the hoops.
(25:11):
Hoops will try a deep three. No goodness is everything.
Then it goes out of bands, missed opportunity and transition
there for Uniota.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yeah again.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Both teams good effort getting on the floor, trying to
get after the basketball. You can see both teams want
to really give it there all tonight.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Three fifteen to go, first quarter, Unioda leaves at seven
to five. Fight comes Neft, gives way to speech space.
Try to get the flare screen back to ne f
Well defended. Now it's Wall against Well high ball screen.
Wall step into the three and he knocks it downa goes,
goes a little flat on the heads there. Wall just
rises right up and knocks it down.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Yeah again.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Jack Welsh has done a great job. He's a great
shooter when he comes in defense. I'm not sure it'd
be interesting to see if they keep that matchup.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Ball poked out of bounds into the into the logan
Ell bench still gonna be Unioda. So Hoops will be
the inbound guy on the side ob toward torn the
mid court line to Finch. Now Fitch will look back
to the unioda bench and get the call. Cut Right
(26:23):
gives the hoops hoops dribbles into a hand off with Finch.
Fitch up top. Now wanted Perkins in the post, not there,
and now he'll drive to the right hand. Shot up
on the glass. No good Perkins with the rebound. Put
that basket good KB Perkins certainly been active or.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Like yeah, and the thing that really uh you know,
stands out there. He time that jumped great.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Cut right had a nice angle there on theft. They're
gonna say, got a little too aggressive, I think, and
call the foul just his first I believe. Zickafus returns
there for cut right, just a little bit of a
guard rotation, trying to keep fresh people. Now you got
Zickafou's back on wall so far. Uniota's just got to
(27:07):
shrupt on the ball screen defense there. That's where Wall's
giving him a lot of fis over on the left side.
It's neft, neft guarded by Welch. He spins into the middle,
reverse pivot, drops it off the wall. He's shot up.
No good rebound Perkins of Uniota gives way to Fitch.
(27:27):
Fitch'll bring it up. They swing it all the way
right side at Zikafuse. He's off a ball screen there
from Perkins, and he'll drive and turn the corner and
get fouled.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
He got to the line there, but he missed a
wide open kV Perkins on the bag side there.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
That would have been an easy too.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Yeah, you're mentioned in Nioda using a lot of high
ball screen there and KB on the roll. If the
guard gets the head up there, certainly gonna draw some
opportunity Jackson. Zickafous's first free throw is good. Next it
ten to eight. Jackson shoots around seventy five percent from
the line on the year, so it's one forty eight.
(28:10):
First quarter. Zicka Fuse will try to add to the
two point lead with a second toss from the Charity strike.
That one's good, eleven eight Uniota.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Unioda. Back's off the pressure.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Just a little bit still kind of a token three
quarter court man is Isaac Coy's into the game now.
He's applying some ball pressure to a now left side
three ball, No good, Fitch. That a steamer on the three.
Fitch with the rebound, he'll bring it up. Fitch bought
about a three from the left wing. Now to Perkins
and he'll go get it back and we've got an
(28:42):
official time out. He's pointing at something there. I don't
know if if KB Perkins has some blood on the
uniform or anytime the official steps in there, you assume
it's something.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Yeah, the uh interesting thing, KB Perkins. He caught the
ball there and he thought about it three last time
we had him here, I think Jacob was with me
and I said that Kb's going to hit a three
here on senior night and he didn't. I asked him
about that after the game. I said, how was that
three you made? He goes, I was looking forward to
that all year long.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Less side Welch back up to Zickafus as Perkins has
had to come out of again. Dawlson Mitchell into the game.
Now on the drive, that's Blake Fintch. He lays it
in thirteen eight uniote on top Unioda traps in the
back court. Now they got a second trap and again
to ten count coming into play, they finally beat it
across the timeline. Russell gave Speace from the right wingle
(29:39):
try a three, no good.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Neff up for the rebound, and the official here on the.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Near side is going to say it hit the cable
up top, So a break for Uniota because Logan Elm
was in position for an offensive rebound.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Yeah, and again if you're Logan alum, this is one
of those areas where you cannot let a run get
going there and they're down five and this run has
happened again with the inch. You have two sophomores out there,
Coy and uh Wels, causing some issues.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Forty five seconds to go in the opening quarter, Fitch
will try a mid range jumper. It's short. Zickafuse flies
in for an offensive rebound. Now the clock's at thirty seven.
Let's see if you and Theoda can get the final
shot of the quarter. They'll hand it back to Fitch.
It's thirty one, thirty and counting. Koy has it up
top and at just a sloppy pass to the wing. Luckily,
(30:28):
Zikafouse runs it down. Now he's gonna drive all the way,
kicks it back out to Fitch.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Bitch turns down. The three gets to.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
The rim and a holler. Dawson Mitchell with a put
back basket and good Fitch had had gone to the hoop.
Someone got a piece of the shot. The ball falls
into the hands of Dalson Mitchell when he scores and
draws the file for a chance for an.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Old fashion three.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
And again that's what we talked about in the beginning
of the game, that these these bench players, these young
guys coming into the game.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Duke contributed and that was a great job there.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Dawson Mitchells free throw a timpt no good rebailed. Manson,
who's checked in for the Braves. Wall will bring it
up eleven seconds to go. He gives it up to
Nef Nef, guarded closely by Welch five to shoot those
left side at speech. I don't know if they see
the clock, and they're gonna get Zikafouse with a foul
(31:19):
and with one point one that's gonna be a second.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Yeah, that's a tough one there.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
That's a costly foul on two spots with one with
one second to go, they are forty feet from the
basket and the other that's gonna be Zickafuse's second. And
I could really impact the second quarter defensives.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yeah, you're probably gonna see cut right go to Nomayah Wall.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Here they get it in bounce in the Brave will
not even get a shot up. I don't even know
if they were aware of the clock. Well, we've arrived
at the end of the first quarter. Unio to fifteen
logan L eight. You're listening to Herdsign hundaiy SVC Game

Welcome back to Uni Outa High School.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
We've played one quarter Union out of Leeds Logan Alla
fifteen to eight, Lou. If you take us inside the
numbers there in the first quarter, what's the site sheets tell.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Us, well, uniotas shooting the ball, well, six of eleven
for fifty five percent. There zero three from beyond New
York and three or five from the free throw line. Uh,
Logan Elm three of ten shooting. They shot seven threes
there in the first quarter, relying a lot on those.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
There were two of seven Loganelm basketball. To start the
second quarter, they dribble into a hand off the wall.
He'll try a three and he got it, rises up
and cuts the Unio to lead to fifteen eleven. Yeah,
that's his third three of the night. Already zikathous in
the foul trouble now, so welch. We'll start the quarter
with cut right, Perkins hoops and Koy free throw a
(33:44):
high entry there to hoops his turnaround jumper, no good
rebound Logan Elm.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Neth will look to push it for the Braves.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Braves spin move into the middle, pull up jumper in
the middle, rims off rebound Perkins. He'll turn and push
give way to cut right. Cut right now, how Welch
has it up top. Welch bumped by Wall and that's
gonna be his second. So again Jackson Zikafous on the
Uniota side picks up a tough second foul there with
(34:13):
one second remaining in the first quarter, and now it's
Wall and as of now I think Coach drops He's
gonna go ahead and go with it.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Interesting that he puts him back on Fitch here though.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Fitch has it in the back court. We're just a
minute into the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Unioda leads by four with the basketball high post entry
to Perkins.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Perkins drops steps and goes hard to his left hand.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Shot up, no good rebound wall of Logan Ol Wall
bring it out himself and look the push Wall kicks
it right corner to Spee's. They're gonna Saiales deflected last
touched by the Shermans.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
David Long into the lineup for Uniota.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
So the Shermans have now gone ninety Logan Elms played
seven different a second.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
We're going to go with a little zone out under
here for Unioda.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Uni into two to three cut right pokes it away
as they try to throw it out top. Fich gives
way to cut right into the open court and he
lays it in Cayden cut right to the top, steals
man and all the SBC shows off why.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
There, Yeah, he uses football defensive back there. He went
up there and got the ball over in nemayah wall
as they were trying to throw it in.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Now you got the the baseline official coming all the
way up there, going to have a Unioda foul away
from the ball there. Who they get I didn't see that.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
They get it on the Fitch as the wall was
basically just standing there. And I don't know if they
got Fitch for voting or what they called there.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
So seventeen eleven Union know the six thirty to go
first half, Speace thought about a right side three. Now
Meth has it. Unioda's still in the two three zone.
They'll extend out and still pressure of the ball into
two three. I'll kind of leave the free throw line
wide open. In this particular defense, Spiece has it up
top again, Fitch applying the ball pressure. Now Seemer has
(36:10):
it up top. It's bilely. Now Wall has it in
the high post. He turns, draws the double team. It's
Biley from the right wing.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
No good.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Perkins with the rebound for unioda out comes.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Fits with it.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Fitch threeing the legs, crosses over, drives downhill and they're
gonna get Nef. I believe on the block. Just a
common foul, so it'll just be an ob under opportunity
for unioda.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Interesting you kie Odo, you're going to that done, and
you talked about how the the free throw line is
going to be open. Be interested to see if Logan
Elm that time they did put Wall right there in
the high post.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
We'll see if they continue to try to do that.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
They throw it all the way out top to cut right,
cut right once Perkins in the post, I got it
to him. Perkins goes to work, dumps it off the
cutting and he missed the lay out comes loganel will
with it. Wall looks to push kicks it left side.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Speech.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Now he goes corner. Logan Elm starts to turn down
a couple threes. Now Nef has it up top. Now
this time Space will try one no good cut right
with a rebound. He pushes out cut right, no numbers
turns and throws up the hoops. Now hoops will drive
hard in the baseline shut up on the glassing good.
But I think the official is pointing back to the
short corner, so I think they're gonna get.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
It on the drive.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
So no basket foul on loganel that's on the wall.
Number three, that's prep three on wall, and that is
with five twenty two second corner. So unioda up seventeen eleven. Here,
(37:52):
let's see if the Shermans can take advantage of this
next five to twenty cut right. He'll try a three
ball no good Biley with the rebound out comes Nef
Nef guarded closely by cut right, now spins back to
the middle drive all the way to the hoops shot
up no good seamer with a rebound and put by
basket good zane seamer the six foot junior really made
(38:17):
possible by the penetration and Nef Perkins had to step
over therefore out of position on the box out seventeen thirteen.
Unioda cut right has it on the left wing up
top hoops hoops off a high ball screen from Perkins.
Now hoops will throw it to the corner to long
long drops it in the post to Perkins. Perkins into
(38:39):
the middle, left hand up over the front of the rim.
No good rebound Steamer, great opportunity in the post there
for KB Fat comes biling his left side.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Speech.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Now it's Nef up top. Nef looks to go one
on one, cut off by cut right now a flare screen.
Russell thought of three. Now Russell will take the mid
range jumper. No good again at Seamer on the offensive
glass put back, no good this time. Perkins of Unioda
with the rebound out comes fits with it fits a
stop and go splits the double team lay up, no
(39:13):
good long on the put back. Shot is blocked, and
they're gonna say on the baseline, last touched by the Braves.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Uniota basketball. A lot of action here, not a lot
of scoring.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
It seems like right now Unioda sort of blast her
identity a little bit offensively and then also defensively. It's
a big adjustment when a guy like Wall goes out
of the game, because now it takes away I mean,
your whole defense is around guarding him and watching for him.
So it be interesting to see if Unioda can't get
settled down.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
Here on the inbound.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Blake Coops was gonna fake the handoff and go and
he just lost it out of bounds, turns it back
over to the braves. Up comes Speace, Blogan Elm gives
way to Biley. Biley's guarded by Hoops and then now
Nep has it guarded by cut. Right, Nef spins trying
to get down the hill, drops a bound or just
hands it right off to a cutting space and he
(40:07):
lays it in all of a sudden, it's seventeen fifteen
Uniota League cut the two.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Yeah, that was a great cut and a great pass.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Cut right has it in the left corner. Give way
to Finch. He'll try a mid range jumper and he
got it.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
Yeah, they needed that. It's only their fourth point here
in this quarters. Sort of settle them down a little bit.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Nineteen fifteen Uniota by four three nineteen left in the
first half. Nef directing traffic out top, gets a high
ball screen from Singer. Now a flare screen. They wanted
Russell up top, and they're gonna say Niota got a
little too physical there on the flare screen. I think
they got Hoops away from.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
The ball of his first file.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Coach Holts is going to left to go Zika foos
here with two files as he returns the line up.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
And bound to Russell.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Russell, just a sophomore outstanding shooter for the Braves, gives
weight to death nef to the left hand. Ribble gets
all the way into the paint. Now kicks and back
out to space, and the baseline official is gonna call
three seconds.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I think I've seen more than two or three of
those this year.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Turns it back over to Unioda. Nineteen fifteen call from
the bench. They're gonna put Zika fous at the point
guard position and move fich off ball here with two
fifty remaining first half because right side it's coy high
end to Perkins. They're wanting to get Fitch into the post,
and they drop it into him and he spends some scores.
(41:40):
Nice recognition there from Uniota to get Fitch in a
place to take advantage of the matchup.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
I think Fitch really likes the playoff post.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Neth On the pull up jump or no good another
put back trifle loganown no good. Perkins comes out with it.
Perkins gives way to fetch Unioda with the basketball up
six Fitch cut off there on the baseline now tries
to drive on a stop and go move and they're
gonna get think that's Biley, I know, excuse me speech
with the blocking foul.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
So again the depth on Uniodo's team is really helping
them out right now, they've gone nine deep where we've
only seen.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
I believe six, I believe seven. Like the Manson played
a little bit in the first quarter there all the
way out tide and it's picked off there sloppy inbound
from Uniota. Loganell picks it off, so Unioda up six,
but Loganell back in the possession of the basketball, Russell
has it up top.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
He's waiting.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Nef Neth goes left point to Biley, now left wing
to Russell. Russell guarded closely by Welch. Now Nef up top.
That matchup is with Fitch Loganell not in a hurry
at all, just trying to run some offense here with
wall and three files. Speace drives hard to the to
(43:02):
the baseline, lost it momentarily, but it goes into the corner.
Three ball or Bily no good cut right with the
rebound for you, THEODA out comes fits with it up
top the Perkins. Now back to Fitch. It'll play off
a high ball screen from Perkins, pull up mid range
jumper fifteen feet. Blake pitchs he's got it.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah, he's got six h points in this quarter. He's
got eight.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Overall, twenty three fifteen. You know you got to push it.
The lead back to eight one fifteen to go. First half.
Nep has it up top, guarded by cut right. He
drives hard to the left hand. He's a little runner
in the paint.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
No good. Let's see if they're gonna call is that
on the shot?
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Ye, they're gonna give him two again.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Brady ne F six to two Junior gets that big
first step, got down hills and shot a little runner
right around the SBC logo around ten feet. Couldn't get
the shot to fall, but that's gonna be the I
can file on cut right. So Nef will have two
free throw opportunities trying to cut into this eight point
(44:10):
uniot advantage. First free throw, no good, Like coops will
were turning the lineup. Nef will get a second free
throw to be Perkins and hoops down low, trying to
box out on the free throw attempt. Here second free
(44:32):
throw is up. That one's good. So twenty three sixteen
Unio to buy seven with the basketball. We're coming up
on one minute to play first half. Bitch off a
high ball screen from Perkins, gives away to Zickafous. He
thought about the free Now he penetrates, stumps it off
the Perkins for the and one opportunity. Outstanding penetration from Zickafoo.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
Yeah, that's a great job of drawing guys to you
and then getting the pass to where it needs to be.
Speaker 3 (44:59):
And you know Cap Perkins knows what to do with it,
so Perkin's gonna go to the free throw line.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
This is where coaching wise, you're gonna try to protect
a bunch of people in foul trouble. So long we'll
come into the game for Zikafus, who has to cut right.
Already on the bench with two Obviously loganel playing without
Wall here has three fouls. Free throw attempt no good.
Welch almost had it on an offensive rebound, but nef
(45:25):
of logan Elm comes out with it. Neth penetrate cut
off by Welch. Now Russell has it on the right side.
Russell left side speeds. You'll see if Logan el tries
to hold it for one shot, that'd be a tough task.
Here thirty some seconds now Biley will drive hard down
the middle, shot up off the glass, and they're going
(45:46):
to give it to the end. One opportunity shot goes
in the file.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
That was a great drive there by.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Biley showed some strength as he took that ball hard
to the bucket.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
Got hoops and that's his at it.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
So at thirty six point nine on the clock, Bailey
freethrow no good rebound Perkins. Now he'll hold it up
and give it the fits. So twenty five eighteen Uniota
with the basketball. They also would have the possession Eira
to start the third quarter if they're able to execute
time and score and get the last shot here up
(46:23):
top its hoops. Hoops gives way to Welch. Clock is
at fifteen. Welch ribbles behind the back. Wow, and we've
got a five count and we're gonna go the other one.
So in eight point eight on the clock, Manson checks
(46:47):
in for Logan Elm. Logan Elm will get an opportunity
to take the lost last shot of the half here
as they trailed by seven, then bound the neff across
the timeline, high ball screen, neft down the hill and
we're going to go the other way on an offensive
foul welch, they said, beating to the spot and his
neft lowered the shoulder. They draw the contact in the baseline,
(47:10):
official takes it the other wise.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Yeah, interesting there.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
I thought maybe a coach would put the wall back
in the game for last one offensive possession, but he
chose not to and they get a turnover. A great
job there by jack Wells taking the charge three point two.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Union has got to go the full length the floor.
Hoop's going to throw it out over the top. Bitch
has it fits tries a quarter three partially blocked and
that's going to bring us to half turn Well, it's
been a good one UNIONTA twenty five Logan Elm eighteen

Welcome back you to Yo to high school. Hernstein Hunt
SBC Game of the Week here on ninety four Country WKKJ,
and of course worldwide iHeartRadio. Shane Colms lou posted Division
four District quarter final and if you weren't with us
in the pregame, we were explaining that would be kind
of the old sectional championship round if you're not familiar
(51:18):
with the new seven divisions this year, Logan Elm and
Unioda playing in Division four and Uniota leads at twenty
five to eighteen, and you know, Lou, before we get
to the numbers, I guess the first thing I would
kind of get from you is just a feeling in
the first half. Unioda jumps out fifteen to eight in
the first quarter. A mind notes here at the five
twenty two mark of the second quarter, Wall went to
(51:40):
the bench with three files. Unioda currently or at that time,
was up seventeen eleven. So at twenty five eighteen, Logan
Elm probably feels okay with where they're at. At the
same time, Uniota played played the overall decent first half.
They're holding this team to eighteen points.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
Yeah, I think both teams have to be happy. But
I think if you're Logan Elm, you're really a static
that number one, you didn't shoot the ball very well
at all, and your best player had three foulsand and
he had to sit for five minutes and twenty two
seconds of that second quarter, and you only lost one
more point on that lead. So they're down seven. Both
teams had ten points there in the second quarter, So
(52:17):
again I think it was a second quarter of missed
opportunities for both teams. Obviously, all going out hurt Logan Elm,
but again I thought their players really played aggressive on
both ends of the floor and really gave u Ni
Yoda some trouble. Well, I thought defense on both ends.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
We asked the question tempo wise, thought the defense was
really good. It was fast, but it was so physical
and for the most part in the half court. The numbers,
I assume probably aren't incredible shooting, but I think the
defense has to get a lot of that credit.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Yeah, and again Uniodo they were eleven of twenty four
forty six percent. Here's the thing about Unioda that you
know they've shot five threes, haven't made one of them,
and again that's something they do extremely well, shoot threes,
three of six from the free throw line. You look
at Logan ELM they are six of twenty two shooting
twenty seven percent, four of ten from beyond the arc
(53:07):
and one for three from the free throw line. So again,
not great shooting by both clubs here tonight, but again
a very aggressive game. I think both teams are playing
extremely hard, and I think the first four or five
minutes of this second half is really going to have
a big saying what's going on now?
Speaker 2 (53:25):
Wall with three files on the other side, zikafous hoops
and cut right with two? Does that change your mindset
a little bit defensively if you're a coach or do
you feel like you got them to the half with
just two files?
Speaker 3 (53:39):
You feel okay to go as normal.
Speaker 4 (53:40):
There in the third quarter, I think you Nioto, yes.
I think as far as Logan Him, I don't know
if you put Amaya Wall out there on Fitch again,
I think you've got to keep him on the floor.
And I thought the other guys did a pretty good
job guarding Fitch, so I don't think he's a necessity there,
but you have got if you're Logan Him, you got
(54:01):
to have your best player on the floor offensively.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
Early on, I thought KB Perkins was really active. I
thought Unioda made it a point to get it to him.
I thought his his his presence was a little deeper
in the post. Early I thought Logan Elm pushed him
maybe one step off his spot. A couple shots come
up short. Overall, you still still kind of like that
strategy trying to get him involved. Do well.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
Yeah, I love going and throwing the ball inside to
your post player really wants the ball. I thought late
in that second or second quarter, I thought they went
to Fitch inside a lot. Fitch was the one who
was posting up and trying to get some stuff done
in there. But again, I think that's still a matchup.
Uniota has to you through their advantage. Hey, real quick
before we take a time out before the third quarter.
(54:45):
Here some upcoming tournament action. I know you were telling
me that that we'll have some games you and Jacob
I know will be over in Zane Trace tomorrow night. Yeah,
tomorrow night we will have Nelsonville, York at Zane Trace.
That'll be a seven o'clock start here on w KKJ.
And then depending on all these winners and who's going
to be winning, we could have the possibility of having
(55:06):
a game every night next week Monday through Friday. Certainly,
if Uniota wins this game, they're going to play next
Tuesday at Southeastern at eight thirty against the winner of
Fairfield Union in McClain and I was looking for a
score on that one, and we do not have one,
but again that would happen next Tuesday. But yeah, it's
(55:28):
great time of the year and hopefully we are busy
next week.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
Chain well, it's always it's always our favorite time of year.
You get that tournament basketball and the weather starts to
turn a little bit, and then you hope you always
get some combo trips in there as well. So we're
coming up in about two minutes to go. We'll step
aside for a quick timeout and we'll be back with
tonight's third quarter action. Don't go anywhere. It's going to
be an outstanding when UNIODA leads at twenty five eighteen

and Lou, I know you have a couple other scores
that Yeah.

You can find these scores at the Accurate Heating and

Hillsboro In at half leads Vinton County twenty six to eighteen.
In the second quarter, it's Westfall in New Lexington tied
at nineteen. At half it is Washington Courthouse twenty seven
(57:35):
Waverley twenty two. In the second quarter it is McLain
trailing Fairfield Union thirty two to twenty six, and Circleville
is up on Galia Academy at half twenty to fifteen.
Speaker 18 (57:51):
Right.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
Obviously, do or die time a year to just survive
in advance and some some good matchups there. There's some
really good guard matchups there mentioned west Fall, New Lexington.
Speaker 3 (58:02):
A couple of nice guards on both sides there, eyes
the Bitton County Hillsborough.
Speaker 2 (58:05):
I'm sure that's fun to watch. Coming out of the
huddles here looks like Unioda will run them out the
way they started Perkins, Fitch hoops, Zickafousen cut right for
Logan elm Its Space Wall, Nef Bailey and Seamer.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
And again we see Namayah Wall, Garden, Blake, Fitch.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
Here Uni had a possession to start the second half.
Fitch will give way to Zickafoos. Now it's left side
cut right back up top. Zickafoos Zickafus comes right side
to Fitch. Fich against wall, drives hard, kicks it opposite wing,
cut right for three, and he knocks it down.
Speaker 3 (58:43):
Yeah. Give credit there to Fitch. It was to drive
and the kick.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
He was going to throw it to the corner, but
he saw cut right wide open up at three quarter
of the.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
Art junioda by ten back come the Braves. Nef has
it up top, gives way to Bailey. Now gives the
wall on the right point. He'll turn and shoot a three,
and he got it. So he answers the cut right
three with one of his own. Twenty eight to twenty
one UNI to lead back to seven.
Speaker 4 (59:12):
Yeah, all of his twelve points would beyond the arc
tonight stopping go move from Finch playing downhill, poked away
out of bounds, up onto the stage, gonna be UNI
out to basketball.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
Fitch will be.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
The unbound man on a OBI under Sherman's go with
the little box set and give it in the hoops.
Fitch chases it into a handoff shot up on the rim.
No good seamer with the rebound out comes Nef for
the Braves goes right side space will try a three
two strong hoops with the rebound hoops now kind of
(59:48):
brings it back up by half court. No, I'll cross
timeline high ball screen from Perkins hoops down hill to
that left hand. We talked about it in the first
half when he turns the corner to that strong hand,
very very good.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Yes, and he was very patient.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
He allowed that to happen, allowed that opening to happen,
and he took it in strong.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
The hoops lay up makes it thirty twenty one. Neth
comes back in a hurry with a mid range jumper.
No good, Fitch with a rebound long bounce piss out
in front the cut right left hand lay up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
You THEODA with its biggest lead.
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Of the night at thirty two to twenty one, less
than two minutes into the second half.
Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Yeah, nice little run here.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Case starts to pick up logan elm against the pressure.
They dump it off the steamer and he lays it in.
Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
Yeah, that was a great answer there by logan elm
thirty two to twenty three. Back and forth we go.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Now, Fitch thought about the mid range jumper and I'll
give away the hoops. Hoops has it between the legs spins.
Now he wants to use a ball screen from Perkins,
kicks it to Zickafous. Zikafous down the middle, poked away
by Logan Elms, saved by Fitch and I'm not sure
he had to out comes Wall, Wall behind the back
(01:00:58):
into the open court, shot up on the rim, no good,
Wall gets his own rebound shot fake. Zickafuse flies by
three point try too strong, and now we've got an
expl We've got Zickafouse and Wall come together in the
open court and they're gonna get Zicka Fouche. And that's
his third file.
Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
Now that was a big call there. You had two
players that you know in somewhat fout droveling. They called
on Unioda Zickafouse.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
So so a costly call two ways.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
I think Nioda had a transition opportunity to one way
and it's gonna be Zickafous's third by comes to space
and I think he ended up taking well, I beg
your pardon. He took the extra step because they said
he was bumped from behind and they're gonna get Fifch.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
I believe this time on the file that is his second.
Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
So Logan Elm possession underneath its own basket. Wall will
be the inbound wall thowed into biling Wall will come
and get it back. Now, high ball straight air from seamer.
Now wall back up by half court guarded by Welch.
(01:02:16):
Now is Zicker fuse out of the game.
Speaker 4 (01:02:18):
Yeah, they're in the zone here. Niodo is in there
two three zone where the guards really come out.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Cut right and Welch really have the freedom to go
pressure the basketball here. Now it's up top, Biley Wall
gets it right in the middle. They cut Nef on
the baseline. Nice high low game and they hitting and
lays it in.
Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
Brady New really like that cut by Neph and again
a graat pass there by a wall to find him.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Back ups Judyoda left side cut right, will try another
three from the wing. He follows his own shot on
the miss. Now Hoops will try a right wing three.
No good cut right on the punt, back blocks it in.
And I think they got the mile Wall on the buffet.
If that was him, that's his ford. Let's see who
they I could I got shielded out there if I
don't know, Lou, if you could see the number, Yeah,
(01:03:08):
it's twenty four.
Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
And he's gonna take out and have to go to
the bench here.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Just in an unbelievable effort from cutright on the offensive,
Glass tips it in and he's gonna get an N
one opportunity. So at thirty four twenty five, with four
thirty three to go third quarter, Wall's gonna go have
to go and back to the bench there, just like
(01:03:34):
in the second quarter before you throw up from good.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
So thirty five twenty five, that comes Nef of loging down.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
Nef drops a bounce past the Seamer in an outstanding
high ball screen. Seemer seft the screen rolled it. Nef
dropped the pocket past there, and the N one opportunity
now for his ain't seem yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Seemer's having a nice game here in second half.
Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
He got two quick fuckets. But Katie cut right now.
With eight points in this quarter alone, he's got ten
overall and sort of help extend this lead a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Deceiver will get.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
A free thro that's good to complete the three point play.
Thirty five twenty eight, Fitch will push it up for
Udiota high ball stream for Perkins. Fitch behind the back
gives left side it's cut right cut right now calls
for the high ball stream but now they'll go back
up top the Welch and the tall comes.
Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
From the bench.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Welch're handling it up top, goes left side, cut right
back screen for Perkins. Now Perkins up top, they try
to go Hoops in the post. Hoops steps through opposite corner.
It's Welch for three shot. No good, Hoops fighting for
the rebound. They're going to say he touched it last
out of bounds.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
It's go go the other way.
Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
I think Yoda wanted some contact on Welch's three point
attempt there in the quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Thirty five twenty eight Shermans by seven.
Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Logan l back in possession with the basketball with three
forty five to go third quarters, Speace hands it off
to Russell. Russell over the right side. That's Biley cut
right doing a good job denying Nef and as a
result they had to go a different direction and throw
it away.
Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
Yeah, Seemer was getting ready to attack the bucket there
and make a cut, and they threw it out.
Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
To him in the corner and he wasn't there.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
So Udioda back in possession with the basketball, trying to
add to the seven point advantage. Right side of Hoops
turns down the three drives hard to the left hand,
gets all the way to the rim. No good fight
for the offense and rebound Perkins on the put back basket. Good.
Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
Yeah, that was a nice drive by Hoops. He just
didn't get it high enough on the board. But kV
Perkins stuck with it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Thirty seven to twenty eight Uniota Cutwright picks up f
in the full court.
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
Perkins shows a little help there.
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Now Uniota seems set and that's gonna pull up in
the mid range again shot, No good rebound Perkins outlet
pass almost taken away by Biley, but it's gonna go
out of bounds. Last touch by Biley, so Unioda will
get it. N The other kind of dodge is a
bullet there.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
Yeah, and again what we're seeing here in the second
half KB Perkins rebounding the ball and the guard's really
getting the ball out and going with it here for Unioda.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Coy's gonna give cut right a break here. This fitch
walks it up. Bitch across the timeline guarded by Speech
uses the high ball screen for Perkins. Now up top,
it's Hoops. Now they're going to try to get Perkins
in the post. He draws a double and ice cut
from Toy, who lays it in outstanding basketball. They get
(01:06:55):
it into the post to Perkins and then Toy cuts
off of it for the layoup. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
I love to see shall that dribbling. I love to
see guys cutting without the ball with a purpose. And
again that was Corey going to the bucket looking for
the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Full time out on the floor. Thirty nine to twenty.

Same Big Money in the Nuns, Welcome back at Junio

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
The Shermans lead the Brain nine twenty eight and lou
I can't stress it enough.
Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
Cut right with an outstanding start to the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Coach Goldens goes to the bench and give him a
quick breather, and all Isaac Cooy does is come in
make a nice cut off of a double team of
Perkins for a layup and then calls the double dribble
with some pressure against enough. They're just great depth and
great weapon. Yeah, and again that's what Unioda does to you.
Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
They they can throw in that depth and they can
go on spurts and runs, and that's what they're on
right now to extend leads. Very dangerous territory right now
for Logan Elm. They got to try to weather this
dorm and see if they can hang on here and
keep it, maybe get it under ten before the fourth quarter.
But again, Unyodo, you want to keep pouring it on here.
Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Unioda basketball aut of the time out Coops has it
over on the right wing up top Perkins. They want
to get fiched there in the post. They throw it
to him, poked away a little bit, so I'll Fitch
will have to bring it back out on the perimeter.
He crosses over downhill to the.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Rim and lays it up and end Blake Fitt. Yeah,
he really likes to get the ball and play that
foot's position.
Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
Forty one twenty eight Uniota continues the pressure full court.
Now Speace has it. Speach goes right corner. It's Biley
for three and he got it. Logan Elm spread the
court of a bunch of shooters. They can get back
at it in a hurry. Bitch up top Perkins now
hoops has it. Hoops rips through to the left hand.
(01:09:30):
Now back out the Welch. Welch using the left hand
dribble now comes off a high ball screen from Perkins,
gets all the way to the rim, lays it up
for hire. Nice job, Jack Welch. Forty three point thirty
one Uniota back to twelve. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
I wouldn't say he's a great driver by any means,
but that was a great driver for him.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Rustle across the timeline, lose it. Welch goes to the
floor and I think we're gonna have a time out
to save possession there for the Logan Elm, Let's stay
here this time. Forty three thirty one Uniota by twelve,
then at twenty, and then if you're Logan Elm, you
go back with Wall right at the beginning of the quarter.
Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
I think you have to without a doubt. But again
coach drops he wasn't happy there. He felt there was
a foul call or a foul and they didn't call it.
But again his troops, they're really battling here, and you know,
give them credit. This Unyota team usually against other teams
have now expanded that lead to maybe fifteen to twenty.
(01:10:33):
But Logan Elm just sticking around.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
Well, we mentioned in the pregame as good as Wall
is another another threat all over the floor. You know,
Spease from three, Russell from three, Biley from three, and
those threes out of pluck quicker than the Two's right.
I'm not a bath teacher, but you can really get
back in in a hurry, and Logan Elma has shown
that on film throughout the year.
Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
Yeah, and again, if you're Uniota, you just got to
keep attacking, you know, no, don't keep that or keep
that foot on the gas pedal and go forward.
Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
Logan Elm with possession out of the time out one
eleven to go third quarter onto the floor, it's poked
a way there by Fitch loose ball.
Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
Logan Elm comes out with it now, Nef has it
up top.
Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
Nef guarded closely by Koy, and they're gonna get Koy
with the foul.
Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
Now that's only you Theoda's that gonna be their fourth.
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
So Mitchell's gonna come into game now with Mitchell's substitution.
Let's see if they go to the two three. Looks
like they most likely will. So I got some wet
(01:11:47):
spots dried up there. Now they're gonna come all the
way down and go o b under. I guess, so udioda.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
Into that two three.
Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
Koy and Welch will be up top, with Mitchell in
the middle, with Fitch and Hoops joining him on the baseline.
All the way out top it's Speace. Speace gives left
side to Russell. Poked the way by Toy out of bounds,
so Logan Elm will have it on the side again.
Forty three thirty one Uni O to fifty eight seconds
(01:12:14):
to go third quarter. Logan Elm looks entered all the
way to the back court. There it's Russell Unie. It
will stay in the two three zone. Russell across the timeline,
gives a way to speech out. It's right side, Seamen
up top Filey in the middle, it's Russell. Russell drops
(01:12:36):
it down load and neft shot up on the rim.
No good, good box out there from Fitch, but out
comes Logan Elm with it. Speace and Mitchell with the
block shot and hoops down over on the side. Had
an official time out. I assume he's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Now yeah, I'm not sure what happened there.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
So everybody seems okay. Thirty eight seconds to go. Logan
ELM's still in possession. Uni had with a chance to
wrap it up there, unable to over on the right
side a speech. Russell has it in the corner. He'll
use the dribble to bring it all the way back
up top to neck. Now they'll kick it all the way.
Spiece will try a left quarter three. No good, Another
(01:13:16):
offensive rebound for Logan Elm. This time it's Russell that
comes out with it. Nef We'll try a deep three
all the way in and out. Koy goes high for
the rebound. Fifteen seconds he'll push it out in front
of Hoops. Hoops drives and he's going to try to
kick it over to the opposite side to Welch and
he throws it into the Uniota student section.
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
Yeah, Coach Combes didn't like that choice right there. He
would rather have had the last shot.
Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
In fairness to Hoops. The Koy pass had led him
out a little bit, and I think Coops was going
to fall out of bounds anyway, and he was trying
to make a play from there. So eleven seconds to go.
Logan el now going to have a chance to take
the last shot. In Logan elm would have the possession
here to start the fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
Yeah, low pressure by U Nioto, but you don't want
it ballum because the next vowel will put them on the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
Line death across the timeline, high ball screen, nef left
hand rebbel step through, pull up mid range. No good
Hoops at the rebound. This shot knows the other way
will fall short, and we've arrived at the end of
the third quarter. Good quarter for U Yota. They leave
it by twelve forty three thirty one. Stay with Shane
Combs loop posts for what should be a great fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Welcome back to Unioda High School. Shane Combs lou postage
and Unyoda pushes the lead out to twelve at forty
three thirty one.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
And in that quarter there it was again Mamayah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Wall, the very talent sixty three senior of Loganelm getting
in foul trouble. He picks up at third file with
four thirty three to go and Uniota up thirty four
to twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
Now lead at forty three thirty one.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Overall, pretty good shooting there, Loot, and I give you
enough time to get that. Yeah, I would say, Juniota,
I'd say Unioda at least in the first four or
five minutes shot the ball really well.
Speaker 18 (01:15:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
They sixty two percent that quarter, eight of thirteen one
from four from beyond the arc. And again Logan Elm
five of fourteen thirty six percent two of six from
beyond the Arc.
Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:15:43):
And again, I think if you tell Logan Elm, hey,
you're gonna play without your best player for a large
majority of the first three quarters and you're only gonna
be down ten points now.
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Uh, they'd take.
Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
It nice little set to start the fourth quarter. They
they hit the back door, Bily lays it in, cuts
it to ten. Fitch brings it back. Or excuse me
how Seamer Fitch on the way back gets the cut right,
cut right, hands it back to Fitch. Bitch, A little
inside out dribble gets it all the way the rim
(01:16:16):
shot up on the rim, no good out comes Logan
Elm with it. Nef we look to bring it up,
gives the way to Biley. Biley when I never stopped
the basketball, Biley just.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
Goes and lays it in. I think they were not
matched up. They did not know who had who.
Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
And Uh, Coach Comb's gonna stop it right now and
make sure everybody's on the same page.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
So forty three thirty five, just like that, back to
back buckets from Logan Elm, and again Coach Colton takes
a quick time out.
Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
You can't like that focus at all coming out of
the huddle.
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
No, that's not what you want if you're uniodod coming
out here in the fourth quarter. And again you just
got to make sure you communicate and make sure you
know who has what I don't. I think some of
the players thought they were in zone, others thought they
were in man and just sort of let finally alone.
He's got two straight buckets here in the fourth quarter.
He's got now that gives him nine on the night.
(01:17:08):
So again, Unioto, this is a big offensive possession for them.
They got to come away to some points here.
Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
So out of the time out, Uniota started the fourth
quarterback with their starters Hoops Perkins, cutright, Zika fous and
Fitch for Logan Elmt was Wall Bailey's space, nef and Seamur.
So back to action here, unioda basketball pitch. We'll bring
(01:17:35):
it up one on one against Space across the timeline.
Gonna flowed up top Perkins reversus to Zika Foods. They
get Hoops down on the baseline, but Logan ELM pushed
him off his spot. Well, now they drop it into
post of Perkins. Quarter three for cut Rising he got it.
Cayden Cutwright having a big second half, pushing the lead
(01:17:55):
back to eleven at forty six thirty five.
Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
Yeah, eleven points this half, thirteen total. Oh, that was
a big shot there by cut right up top.
Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
It's Biley wanted a flare screen to speak nothing there
Now Seemer has it. Seemer gives way to Speace right
side Biley. Good denial there from Zikafouse on wall wall,
then going to touch it to this point, Steemer is
going to try a three, and he got it Zane
Seemer from a right wing three thirty six or excuse me,
(01:18:25):
forty six thirty eight Uniota lead back to eight.
Speaker 4 (01:18:30):
Yeah, just when you think uni Oda is going to
go on under run, big shot by Logan on.
Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Left side, it's cut right, cut right up top to
Fitch Bitch back to cut right, cut right, He'll try
another three in and out. Zickafuse gets a hand on
the offensive rebound and runs it back. Now gives a
way to Fitch. Fitch now you need it'll reset. Nice
hustle from Zicka Fuse to win another possession for Uniota.
Cut right off a high ball screen from Perkins. Now
(01:18:59):
it's whoops hoops, crosses back over off the block. He
jump stops shot up off the glass and good Blake
coops pushes the lead back to ten.
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
If you're Unioda, every possession down, you want a good
quality offensive possession.
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Neth Back's cut right down. He's cut off there. Now
Biley's gonna try and left the quarter three too strong.
Zika fous with the rebound and he'll look to push
for Uniota now will turn and slow it down, giving
it the Fitch. We come up on the five fifteen
mark left in the game. Fitch off the ball screen,
(01:19:34):
Perkins rolls. Fitch hits Perkins shot up on the rim
in and out out comes Wall with it. Wall left
cornered at Speace. Speace on the stopping go move. I
think they're gonna get Fitch on the hold.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
I don't know how that Perkins shot did not go in,
and I thought for sure that was going in.
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
It certainly touched the whole lot of the rimb on
the way out. So that's Blake Fitch. What third foul?
Unioda's first team all the way out top Wall has it.
Uneoda stays into two three as they normally do off
the obi under, so up top it's Wall. Wall will
(01:20:15):
try a deep three too strong rebound zickifish he shot
that from the.
Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
Ssen shermans Hey.
Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
If he makes those shots, you know, great shot to him,
and you just sit there and play defense.
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
Make sure you don't get to remount.
Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
Fitch up top Perkins. Perkins will use the dribble. He'll
go and drive all the way to the hole and
lay it in. He got to his left hand, got
all the way to the rim. Unioda pushes the lead
back to twelve fifty thirty eight. If that comes nef
nef and they're gonna get cut right on a little
bit of a handsy foul there. I think that's cut
(01:20:52):
Right's third, so second on the team here in this quarter.
Just enough foul trouble to the Unioda guard position. Keep
your attention obviously, wall playing with four for logan. Elm
will all the way out top of the wall. Give
his way to see her again. Uniota at two to
three off of the OPI under so Neph has it
(01:21:14):
up top and get Walt. The free throw line is
turn around, jump her good over top of Perkins. Uniatta
by ten fifty to forty. Fitch brings it up against Speech.
It's cross the timeline now turns the corner and he
just goes and lays it in a little stop and go,
and Unietta is going to take a full time I
(01:21:35):
will step away with him. Uniota fifty two Logan ELM forty.
You're listening to her sign Hunday sec Game of the

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Bucome back to Uniota High School, Shank Holmes and Loop Hostage.
Unioda leads Logan L fifty two to forty and you know, well,
I could tell in that last possession if loganel thought
Unia was going to try to start working some clock
that had come across the timeline, just a little hesitation
when he turned the quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
He just looked like a layup drill.
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
Yeah, and a great job by him of not hesitating.
He just went right to the bucket and no one
stopped him. I was looking over there on the bench
when you're talking about some of the foul travel. I
did not see Jack Welsh over there right now, So
I wonder if something has happened to him or something.
Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
On the play where Hoops was forced out of bounds
and had to throw it back over, it looked like
something might have happened to him there, So that might
be something to keep an eye on as we come
back to action here. Logan Elm with the basketball, tried
to hand it off the nef cut right. Wouldn't let
it happen. Oh my, Now up the seamer back to space.
He'll try a deep three and it gets wedged in
(01:23:16):
the side. So that's going to go to the possession
arrow and it's going to be un to go to basketball.
Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
Yeah, the crowd won in offensive possession or offensive foul there.
Blake Finch got hit right in the midsection and allowed
him to basically have that open shot.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
He certainly did take a little shot.
Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
Now he might have been a little bit of a
unio to drama club there at the same time, too,
back comes Fitch there with the basketball up twelve, give
away to Perkins, handoff back to Fitch, pull up mid
range jump or no good. Wall of Loganilm with the rebound.
Wall pushes it up the seaman seamer cut off there
(01:23:58):
in the short corner, take it away by Zickus Zicka
fous to cut right out of the open court, cut
right up off the glass shot, no good. Rebound Logan
Elm out comes Wall with it. Three minutes to go
in the game, left side Biley for three. He got it. Wow,
So Biley.
Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Dials up a triple fifty two forty three.
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Just like that. Unioda had a chance to go up
fourteen on one end. Instead it comes back to nine
on the other.
Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
Just can't put them away right now, Uniyoda. It's just
allowing Logan Elm to stick around.
Speaker 2 (01:24:32):
Hoops has it up top, taken away by Nef Neth
into the open court lay up, no good, and it's
going to be a Uniota foul. So Brady Nef's gonna
go to the free throw line with a chance to
cut at to seven with the clock stopped, So two
thirty five remaining in the game. That is Unioda's third foul,
(01:24:56):
and the Logan Elm is yet to commit a foul
in the fourth quarter. That could be a factor later.
Neth first free throw attempt. That's good. So fifty two
forty four you expect Logan Elm to continue to apply
a little somewhat of pressure. They've been picking the ball
(01:25:16):
up in the full court. Second free throw, no good.
Wall with the rebound put back, no good, and Perkins
comes out of the rebounds.
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
Perkin's got a piece of that shot too.
Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Logan Elm missed a great opportunity there, So fifty two
forty four, Uniota dodges that bullet. They're up eight with
the basketball Fitch gives way to hoops. Hoops between the legs,
Now crosses over behind the back, Now gets downhill and
he's gonna get fouled.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
But again just the first file.
Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
So Uniota is gonna have to play through contact here
over the next probably thirty seconds, is Logan ELM's gonna
get real aggressive with three more files to go, Yeah,
you definitely got that and again you just gotta be
mark with the basketball here if you're Unioto.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
I see Jack Wells. He is back on the bench there.
It doesn't look like he's feeling.
Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
Real well though, So they're gonna move it from an
obie under. They're gonna say the contact was up top,
so side out of bounds. I'll third in the back
court to Fitch. Fitch now cross the timeline. Two oh five.
Another foul on space. That'll be his third second team
(01:26:34):
so two oh four. Blake Fitch has got to be
careful when he when he goes to draw that contact
and he doesn't get that shoulder out in front. Loganell
Bench was working on the official there a little bit here.
This time, he'll just throw it into Perkins. Perkins down
in the corner to Zickafus, Zickafus baseline, kick the cut
(01:26:56):
right back out top hoops hoops, download a finch and
he lay he Logan Elm just lost him fifty four
to forty four.
Speaker 4 (01:27:03):
Yeah, it's a tough guy to lose two. But he
was just wide open standing underneath the bucket.
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
Back comes nef Nef in the midrange, tries to pull up,
lost it for a minute got it back, shoots the
fifteen footer and makes it fifty four forty six.
Speaker 3 (01:27:19):
Yeah, showed some strength there.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Then boun to Zickafouse and there'll be a foul on
Logan Elm again.
Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
Just they're thirteen, so one thirty two.
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
I assume that foul happened low enough to make it
on a baseline going full length to floor. It will
be so Zickafous will be the inveiled man for Unioda.
Speaker 4 (01:27:42):
Nioda's four to seven from the free throw line tonight.
So again they got to shoot him good here late.
Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
Let's turnover and they try to throw it deep for
some reason, throw it away and wall shooting the three
block my Zickafouse out comes zicka Fous with it. If
you lays an M want to move, so I guess
that's one way to make up for it. If you're Jackson,
zickafus to lay up on the one end. Back comes
Logan Elm in a hurry dale hill drive. I believe
(01:28:09):
that was nef got it up on the rim, no good,
but draws the foul.
Speaker 4 (01:28:14):
Yeah, I'm not sure why they were trying to go
deep there on that ball, no sense and forcing it
you have plenty of timeouts as well, so again it's
like Nef kind of hurt himself as he went in there.
Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
He had drew ended up drawing some pretty good contact.
It's cut Right's fourth foul, so Logan Elm will have
one more file to give. There's one fifteen. Remember Unioda
fall to rebound off of this free throw from the
last trip. Nef makes good on the first one, so
(01:28:48):
fifty six forty seven, Nef will get one more, trying
to cut the lead to eighth and Perkins download to
rebound Unioda miss free throw, Hoops on the box, out
comes out with it, comes out dribbles and gonna draw
(01:29:12):
the contact.
Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
So at fifty six forty six, that's the fourth team foul.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
Finch will inbound it for Udioda down on the baseline,
so the next file for both sides is going to
result in two free throws the rest of the way
out here, so Fitch will inbound it on an Obi
under throws it all the way out top zick afouse
zickafeuse trapped there, gives way to Hoops. Hoops tries to
(01:29:44):
throw it down load to Perkins and it's poked out
of bound.
Speaker 3 (01:29:47):
So if one O two, Unioda will have it underneath.
Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
Again, what.
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Struggle here for Unioda to try to finish this game.
But just gotta be smart and ie little screen.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
The screener hoops cut wide open and misses the lay.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
Uh. Logan Elm with the rebound leads at nine. Logan
Elm has they're gonna call time out. We'll stay here
to set the table here for the listeners. So Unyoda's
up fifty six forty seven, Both teams at four team fouls,
both teams still with timeouts, so everything's still on the table. Lou,
(01:30:29):
if you're you're Logan Elm, here the way you've been
shooting the basketball shooting you want to spread the floor
and try to get downhill and either I tell you what,
get a three.
Speaker 4 (01:30:36):
If you can spread the floor and get a three here,
you cut it to six. It gets interesting really quick.
Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:30:43):
But again, Uniodo, you just gotta be smart. You cannot
put them on the line. You gotta be a good defense,
and then you got to rebound the basketball. Eventually you're
gonna have to make some free throws. And uh, you know, Uniyodo, Uh,
it's not how they've drawn this up. But give credit
to Logan Elm. I think they've done a great job
of extending this game. As I said, most other teams
(01:31:06):
going against Unioto is basically it's a twenty point game
by now. But Logan ELM's really a heady team. They've
stayed in this game. Well, we talked about that in
the pregame.
Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
We felt like Logan ELM would be one of the
top five teams really talent wise in Union has played
this year, and I think I think that has kind
of been able to prove itself true. Here the seat.
Speaker 4 (01:31:26):
A couple other updates here Fairfield Union again, the winner
of this game plays the winner of Fairfield Union McClain.
Fairfield Union up fifty five forty three in the fourth quarter, Washington.
Speaker 3 (01:31:36):
Courthouse leading Waverley forty two to thirty four.
Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
In the fourth quarter, Loganhelm basketball of the time out.
They get it up top the wall, Wall will try
a three. They're gonna call the foul on the floor,
so that's the fifth foul. So it's going to be
two for Demaya Wall. So with fifty two seconds to go,
(01:32:01):
Wall will go to the free throw line. That's the
fourth file on Zikapous so now Zickafou's in cut right
most with four. Wall's first free throw. No good wife,
So again I missed opportunity there, Perkins and Hoops down low.
Again the rebound. Uniota has had their problems the last
(01:32:22):
couple of times. They've been able to show it up
a little bit better. This time, no rebound as Wall
makes the second So fifty six forty eight, they'll sub
Wall out because of the four files. Don't want him
to file out obviously if they have to give a foul,
Hoops will enbound on the press breaker. And again there's
(01:32:44):
going to be a uniot of time out as Logan
Elm does a good job of the nine.
Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
Yeah, coach comes standing right next to the official making
sure he was able to get that time out. And again,
smart time out there. You don't want to just throw
the ball away or just throw deep. Fifty two seconds
to go.
Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
If you're Uniota, you just said it, and now you've
you finally arrived at that time where most likely going
to have some pre throw opportunity.
Speaker 4 (01:33:10):
And again you know, Logan Elm is going to make
it hard on them to get the ball in bounce.
But they got to come up with a way to
get the ball to Fitch. Fitch got to be coming
to the ball, get it into his hands. He's your
player of the year in the league, and he's a
guy that can help finish out games for you.
Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
Now, a three possession lead, if you're Logan Elms, some
coaches like the go first steal and then file. Do
they have time to do that in the three possession
game here or do they need to give it right away?
Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
I think you go for the steal.
Speaker 4 (01:33:39):
I mean I think maybe even after the first pass,
you try to maybe get the or after the inbound pass,
try to get the first pass and if you can,
let you know, five to ten seconds off, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
Okay, So fifty two seconds to go Uniota and Logan
Elm coming out of the time out, Unioda will have it.
Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
Going the full length to the floor. Hoops will be
your inbound man. Nice south.
Speaker 2 (01:34:14):
Fitch comes right back to the ball, as Lou said,
and Russell will give the file. So Blake Fitch is going.
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
To go to.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
The free throw line. And really, like you said, it
becomes a simple game of math. Now if you and
THEODO is able to convert.
Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
At the charity strike, Yeah, and again, what happened there
was Fitch was a guy who went to set the pick,
and a lot of times it's a guy who sets
the pick who's able to come back and be the
guy who's open. So that's his textbook basketball, attacking the press,
and Fitch did a great job.
Speaker 3 (01:34:47):
So Blake Fitch.
Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Will shoot two first free throw in and out.
Speaker 3 (01:34:53):
Well, I tocked him up there and put a jinx
on him.
Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
Yeah, Blake Fitch, a top five free throw shooter in
the SVC, gonna get a second one. This is where
Hoops and Perkins have to be careful not to commit
the silly file and stop the clock and put Loganil
back on the line on the rebound here fetch his
second free throw. That one's good. So fifty seven forty
(01:35:20):
eight uniote on top fifty one point one on the clock.
They'll give Long a defensive match up here as Loganil's
trying to spread the four so Long they'll get Perkins
death pushes it up the floor guarded by Cutwright, who
has four files. Cut right gives the wall wall for
three and they're gonna get zickafous and that's gonna be
(01:35:43):
three free throws. And I think Jackson Zickafus just fight
out of the basketball game.
Speaker 4 (01:35:48):
That is definitely not what you want to do in
a situation like that. Again, you just want to play
good defense there and get your hands up, make them
shoot it over top of you. But now you give
them then chances to make three free throws here to
cut into that lead and make it six.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
Forty two point five seconds and again Wall's gonna shoot three,
makes the first one, Zikafus files out of the ball
game as Perkins returns to the lineup second free throw,
that one's also good. Looks like toy. It's gonna suve
(01:36:27):
in the game for the Wall.
Speaker 3 (01:36:32):
Seventeen on a night there for Namayah Wall, this.
Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
Third one will be a big one because it can
cut up the two possessions if he's able to make
it to cut up the six. Third free throw, rims
around and falls in. And so it's fifty seven fifty
one Uniodo by six forty two point five on the
clock again, Loganell will pick up in the full court.
Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
By my count, Uniodo still has two timeouts left Foots.
Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
Drops it in, fails to finch, and he's filed immediately.
Forty one point one is.
Speaker 4 (01:37:12):
The clock ticks down here look over there, and coach
Comsey keeps looking up at that clock, thinking, how is this.
Speaker 3 (01:37:19):
Game not a who for yet? Logan Elm.
Speaker 2 (01:37:24):
It really is a good execution from Logan Elm trying
to extend the gable to gain as many possessions as possible.
Speaker 4 (01:37:30):
That's that's what you want to do. You give yourself
a chance long enough, you never know what can happen.
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
Fitch first free throw is good, so at least for
the time being, that pushes it back to free possession.
That if you're Unio do you want to make it
ford possession by trying to keep them off the three
point line. Second free throw it's also good fifty nine
(01:37:57):
fifty one again offense defense institution. So if you're Logan Elm,
you want to go to hurry. If you're Uniota, you
want to try to make them use some clock in
the wall. Wall will turn and go high ball screen
there from seamer wall. He'll rise up from three no
good rebound for fifth for a minute, but it bounces away.
(01:38:18):
Now back to nef Nef's three no good wall up
on the offensive glass put back basket good fifty nine
fifty three on the wall, put back basket time out,
Logan Elm twenty six point seven short time. I will
stay here. Really, Udioda had a chance. Thum Us wrapped
the game up with a defensive rebound. But it's kind
of been your theme all night, Logan Elm. Just won't
(01:38:39):
go up.
Speaker 4 (01:38:40):
They just keep the ball alive. Guys diving on the floor. Again,
you'd like to see this in tournament basketball. And really,
if you're you and Yodo, you want to finish and
hopefully get this one under your belt and move forward
and say, hey, now we're in the tournament, we can
(01:39:01):
relax a little bit. But again, it's just been a struggle.
It hasn't been you know what Uniodo, a typical Uniodo game.
They haven't been able to go on those big runs
and you know, didn't shoot the ball extremely well from
the three point line at all.
Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
But yet they're still up by six. Now six stright
free throws for fIF If you're Logan him, don't you
have to do something different here?
Speaker 4 (01:39:24):
You'd want to keep the ball out of his hands.
It looks like they were going to try to double
team them, but now they're not. But again, you're going
to see him set a screen and go back to
the ball right away.
Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
And bailed to cut right, cut right out immediately. So
again I mentioned it's a top five free throw shooter
in the league. Zickafusen cut right also top ten. They've
all shot it up around mid seventies throughout the year.
(01:39:58):
At fifty nine fifty three, Unioda'd life to come away
with at least the split here of this pair to
get that lead back to the seven. First free throw,
that's good.
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
Yeah, that's where the no longer having one on ones
makes it a little easier. Knowing you get two shots
out of here.
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
Udyoda's going to pull guys off the line to make
sure they don't have any of the silly foul files
on the rebound.
Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
So the second free throw we cut right, that's also good.
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
Sixty one fifty three Udioda by eight twenty five seconds
in counting is netflix to push. He turns it and
he pitches it back the wall and it's it's a
backport violation. Nef had gone across typ court, wall is
still circling behind, and he pitched it into the back.
Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Court and they turned it over. Yeah, just not paying
attention to where you're on the floor.
Speaker 2 (01:40:54):
So twenty one point one on the clock, going to
turn it back over to Uniota again. Hoops. The inbound
man Dyota facing the side o b there is going
to go with a stack look, and now they're going
to move him down to the Uniota side. They throw
(01:41:14):
it into the back court to Fitch, and Fitch is
going to be grabbed there by Neth and Fitch is
going to walk to the free throw line here and
at sixty one fifty three, with eighteen point seven seconds,
a few fans are starting to hit the exit.
Speaker 4 (01:41:32):
People are starting to breathe a little easier here on
the Unioto side.
Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
First free throw up, that's good. The way to Fitch.
I boy got six or seven here in the quarter
for him.
Speaker 3 (01:41:51):
Alone, It's got eighteen points on tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
Second free throw this good, sixty three fifty three Uniota
by ten Wall comes back in a hurry, rises up for.
Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
A deep three.
Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
He banks it in sixty three fifty six. Perkins inbound
to Hoops. Hoops will hold on to it and he'll
get filed there by Seaman. So sixty three fifty six,
just six seconds remaining, and it looks like Unyoda is
going to survive and advance in the Division four district quarterfinal,
(01:42:29):
which based on your score update earlier, Lou looks like
it's going to be Fairfield Union at Southeastern High School
next week.
Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
It looks that way and be Tuesday at eight thirty
over at Southeastern.
Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Unyota continues to be outstanding from the free throw line
here in the fourth quarter, sixty four to fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
Six, so we'll give hoops a chance to get in
double figures on the night.
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
Second free throw good sixty five fifty six. Wall comes
back down up in the air and he knocks it
down as the buzzer sounds sixty five. The fifty nine
as your final win number twenty for the uni Ota
Surnamans on the year, allowing them to survive in advance
(01:43:17):
in the Division four district tournament.
Speaker 3 (01:43:19):
They'll move on to a semi.

Welcome back to uni Ota High School, Shane Colmes and
lou posts and share on the post game of your
Hernstein HONDEI SBC Game of the Week ninety four Country
WKKJ Unietta Shermans beat the Logan el Bray sixty five
fifty nine to advance in the Division four District tournament
because they'll move on to Southeastern High School next week.
(01:47:04):
Man taking a closer look at tonight's action, Uniota jumped
out in the first quarter. They let at fifteen to
eight at the end of one, and then in the
second quarter they were up twenty. Uh let's see, they
were up seventeen to eleven. I believe at the time
that wall of Logan Elm went to the to the
bench with five twenty two. Logan Elm kind of was
(01:47:27):
able to hang in there twenty five eighteen at halftime
into the third quarter, Wall picked up the fourth file
lous with four thirty three to go in the third
it was thirty four.
Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
To twenty five. Uniodo was able to stretch it out.
Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
To forty three thirty one, and then throughout the fourth quarter,
Logan Elm went to the long game kind of early there,
little some fouling and some different things. I thought Unido
was outstanding at the free throad line. They go on
to win it sixty five fifty nine. Take us through
some of the totals there well.
Speaker 4 (01:47:53):
Shooting wise, Uniota twenty five of forty nine shooting fifty
one percent, two of eleven from beyond the arc, and
not a great shooting night there for un Yodo, but
thirteen of seventeen from the free throw line. That's nine
of ten in the fourth quarter. So again, good job
of finishing out the game there. You look at Unioda
(01:48:13):
or Logan Elm numbers twenty of forty nine shooting forty
one percent, ten of twenty four. As you said, they
went to the deep ball a lot tonight, ten of
twenty four forty two percent there in eight of thirteen
from the free throw line. But again It's just one
of those things that they just couldn't put Logan Elm
away here tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:48:33):
But you know, I think.
Speaker 4 (01:48:35):
Overall a solid game for Uniodo first tournament game, you know,
again putting maybe last year to bed. You know, as
I said that, probably in the back of the mind
a lot of these players who played last year, you know,
that defeat Logan Elm gave them last year was something
they all thought about, I'm sure coming into this game,
(01:48:55):
and they were able to put that behind them, and
now they get to move forward and move on to
Tuesday night at eight thirty at Southeastern, and it looks
like you're going to be playing the Fairfield Union. Last
update with Fairfield Union sixty two to fifty in fourth quarter,
so it looks like maybe Fairfield Union.
Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
You know, you you touched on it throughout tonight, and
I think as we highlight Logan ELM's a senior class,
you know, keep in mind they had the injury to Kegan.
Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
Deal, a senior earlier in the year, and you know.
Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
We talked about that when we had them Atchili Coffee
and then uh Chase Stevenson and then Tyler Speace the
outstanding shooter and then of course Demaya Wall, who was
just terrific again here tonight, even through foul trouble. I
think you give them a lot of credit because I
know you highlighted it several times. They just they wouldn't
go away. So as much as you might pick at
you to Yoda for not doing a couple of things,
(01:49:45):
you really got to tip your cap the Logan album,
the way they really competed here to the Sea.
Speaker 4 (01:49:49):
Yeah again, that that team's a lot better than what
their record indicated, and you know that program is going
to continue to get better. It was good to see
coach Steverson. I saw him over there tonight. But uh again,
uh Logan Elm, you know, hats off to them. Uh
they're senior into my Wall. He's a fantastic player, and
(01:50:11):
if he chooses to go to the next level, I'm
sure he's going to be successful. But uh uh yeah,
u Nioto, I thought, uh, overall, solid game, solid victory,
and you get to move on.
Speaker 18 (01:50:24):
Yeah yeah, yeah, Oh sorry, I put I put those
on kind of late.
Speaker 2 (01:50:29):
There we go. We're joined by Union to head coach
MATC Holmes and Matt. The thing that Lou and I
were just talking about we'll go ahead and start there
with you is you know, I'm sure you'll have different
things you want to pick at and do this or
do this better or whatever, but but really you got
to just kind of tip your cap to Logan Elm.
Speaker 3 (01:50:45):
They just wouldn't go away.
Speaker 18 (01:50:47):
Well, no, and we didn't really expect him too, because
they have so many weapons in terms of shooters. You
make one mistake and they're getting an open three from
somebody who can shoot. You know, a couple of times
we got kind of aided about the run we were on,
so we decided to go double team, and then next
thing you know, they're hitting a three from the corner.
The Wall kid hit some tough ones and I don't
know what you'd really do about that. But you know,
(01:51:10):
in the second half, I thought we left their shooters
other guys, not Wall a few too many times, but
as a whole, pretty hard to fault our guys' effort tonight.
I thought our guys played really, really hard. Yeah, I
wondered in the in the game plan.
Speaker 2 (01:51:25):
I've watched Logan Elm several times this year and Wall
is so gifted. But at the same time, I don't
think their shooters get enough credit for how well they
can really fill it up. Is that something you and
the coaching side fought all the way through this game
plan in terms of not getting caught in the middle
because you're trying to do the one thing, but you
can't forget.
Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
About the other.
Speaker 18 (01:51:43):
Yeah. I mean, I won't name the opponent, but we
saw a game the other night where Wall went for
like twenty five, hit five threes, but then they hit
six threes with guys not named Wall. So now you've
got twenty five from Wall, and you've got six threes
from everybody else and they and it was a game
that they won, a close game, and that was our
fear of not getting burned both ways. I haven't looked
at the stats.
Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 18 (01:52:04):
I know in the first half we only give up
three threes and they were all Wall. I thought we
did a really good job in the first half, holding
the team like got to eighteen. I think the first
half was good, and you know, you're not gonna be
perfect with it. They're a good team, you know. I
thought our kids played really, really hard. I thought we
were like we've done all year, really like our on
ball defense, and we were able to just kind of
(01:52:24):
dictate the tempo a little bit and the rhythm of
the game.
Speaker 4 (01:52:28):
Coach, I think offensively, you had four guys in double
figures here tonight, and again that's really indicative for your team.
They you know, not just one guy has to do
the scoring. But I think Blake Fitch, you know, and
there's a reason why he is a Player of the
Year in the league. He just sort of gives you
(01:52:49):
that calmness that you need at certain times.
Speaker 18 (01:52:52):
Yeah, you know, I'm sure he likes to you know,
he's got the point guard bias up there. Shane Coles does,
you know, talks about it a lot. No, But I'm
getting to buyas now too while watching Blake, because you know,
he gives us that steadiness a lot of games under
his belt, you know, even though he's a junior, he
started basically since day one. And you know, when you
got guys like that that have some kind of steadiness
(01:53:13):
about them, that can just kind of control things, control
tempo a little bit. I thought late in the game
when they started to spread out, he was able to
get off the dribble once or twice to the rim.
Obviously he's a good free throw shooter, and then you know,
I thought some of other guys too, like Blake Coops
has got a lot of games under his belt, and
he did a good job taking the ball out the
last portion of that game. We said, look, we've got
to have somebody we can trust just to get it
(01:53:34):
in cleanly without risking anything. So when you have that experience,
it helps for sure in the tournament. And you know,
I thought all three of our seniors, for whatever reason
and tournament seniors, kind of that you could see their
urgency in practice this week a little bit more than usual.
And I thought Caden, KB and Blake all played well.
Speaker 4 (01:53:53):
Yeah, Caden, I thought did a great job in the
third quarter. He sort of got you going there in
the third quarter. He had a really nice and he
just seems to do that from time to time. He
can take over games with his athleticism and his defense.
Speaker 18 (01:54:07):
Yeah, you know, this wasn't This wasn't his best defensive
night because I thought he got a little anxious at
the time then gambled a little bit. But he plays
really hard. But I thought those threes he hit early
third quarter were big. You know, we didn't I don't
know if we hardly made a three in the first
half and we only had twenty five points. So for
him to come out and kind of take the lid
off there, and the third quarter was big for us.
Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
I had you two for eleven from beyond the arc
here tonight, and again he hit those two big ones
for you. Well, coach, we did get a final. Now,
Fairfield Union was able to defeat McLain sixty eight to
fifty one. So on Tuesday night, you're going to be
going down to Southeastern to play Fairfield Union team.
Speaker 18 (01:54:45):
Yeah, very good team. Very good team. Looked like a
little different than Logan Elm in a sense, they got
some size, they like to put the ball inside their
physical You still have some kids that can shoot it,
but like they're more of like a probably an inside
out type team. Very good defensively, I mean mid State
Lely is really good league, you know, and and uh yeah,
(01:55:05):
it's gonna be a challenge for sure. So hopefully our
kids will have a couple of good days of practice here.
Speaker 4 (01:55:10):
I saw you kept looking up at that clock late
in the game, thinking, how how come there's still time
on this clock?
Speaker 17 (01:55:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:55:15):
Is it ever gonna go off?
Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Coach?
Speaker 4 (01:55:17):
I did notice your your depth took a little hit there,
Jack Wels. Did he go out of the game there
at the Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
He slipped.
Speaker 18 (01:55:26):
The floor was getting slick, I think from salt and
some different things we were trying to control. He slipped
hurt his back a little bit. So yeah, I mean
we can't we can't afford that. He's gonna I'm sure
he'll get to a chiropractice. I get that worked out,
and you know we've got we don't play till Tuesday.
I guess he's got a little bit of time. But yeah,
obviously you saw what he brought to the table for
(01:55:46):
us tonight. We need him by Yeah, well, coach, I
nely have one more question for you. Twentieth win of
the year.
Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
You know, outright SBC champions this would be the sectional
championship round. Now you move on into the district tournament.
You know that kind of described to me just the
hunger of your kids. You feel like there's some great
opportunity out in front of you with your drawl. I
just kind of did the mindset of your kids in
the program here moving forward?
Speaker 18 (01:56:13):
Yeah? I think you know, I think our kids, you know,
our kids want to advance for sure. I mean they
knew this was gonna be a tough game tonight. They're
wanting to advance a little further than they did, you know,
than than they did well last year. Basically they they
I guess tonight would have been just a little bit further.
But the different divisions and all that they had won
a game here last year, had to go on the road,
got beating a really heartbreaking game against these guys. So
(01:56:33):
these I think these seniors want to go a little
bit further. Obviously, if you win the next one, you
go to the convos. You know, kids want to do that.
There's gonna be a lot of motivation there. We knew
coming in we got a tough draw, and when you
compare urd Rall to some teams quite frankly that had
maybe a worse season than us, you could make the
argument that our droll was tougher, but you got to
you gotta play them. You know, we won one tonight
and now we got to go play a really good
(01:56:55):
Fairfield Union team, so you know, we'll be ready and
see how it goes well.
Speaker 3 (01:56:59):
Coach, congrats ont a win, Congrats on a great season
at this point. Best the luck next league. Thanks guys, yep, congrats.
Speaker 2 (01:57:06):
Yeah, at Unioda head coach Mack Holmes his Sherman's defeat
Logan Elm the nine sixty five fifty nine. LOUI, I
know you're going through some numbers there too. Did you
have some individual scoring as well?
Speaker 3 (01:57:18):
Yes, I did.
Speaker 4 (01:57:19):
For Logan Elm, they were led by Nemaiah Wall. He
had twenty six points. Twelve of them came late in
the game. There those two threes that he hit late,
but he had twenty six. Then you had Lucas Spiley
he had twelve. Then you had Zane's Seamer with eight,
Brady nef with seven, and Tyler Spies with four.
Speaker 3 (01:57:42):
On the night.
Speaker 4 (01:57:43):
For Uniot, they were led tonight by Blake Fitch. He
had nineteen points, fifteen points by Caden cut Right, eleven
from KB Perkins, ten from Blake Coops. Then you had
four points from Jackson Zikapoos and two points each from
Isay Cooy, Jack Welch and Dawson Mitchell.
Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Yeah. As you read through those, obviously, Wall the terrific
senior there twenty six, had a lot of those kind
of late throughout the night. I thought, you know, with
the foul trouble, the Tyler speak with four jumps out
at me.
Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
That's kind of what Coach Colmes was just talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:58:17):
You know, Wall's gonna get his you couldn't let some
of the other shooters. Now, Biley does get the twelve there,
but the four from Tyler speak seven from Now, Unioda's
gotta be pretty pleased defensively the way the game playing
unfolded them.
Speaker 4 (01:58:30):
Yeah, and Speeds didn't get a lot of shots off
that second half.
Speaker 3 (01:58:33):
He only had two shots that he was able to
get off.
Speaker 4 (01:58:36):
So again, good job there, recognitioned by Unioda and making
sure he doesn't get it. But again, as coach said,
some of those other guys stepped up and made shots
for him.
Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
And then on the Unioda side, perfect role identification. You
get the four guys in double figures, you get a
little bit of the depth that you talked about, and
then you obviously get the defensive effort as always from Zickafuz.
Speaker 4 (01:58:54):
Yeah and again, uh, you know that's that's what you're
gonna get from Uniodo, and you get beyond that from
the bench from Coy and Welch and Mitchell is just
a plus.
Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
Well, before we sign off here, Lou one more time,
do you want a kind to go over what we
anticipate our schedule being. I know we can guarantee Tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (01:59:12):
Tomorrow night, Jacob Wise and I will be at Zane Trace.
Zane Trace will take on Nelsonville, York the Buckeyes at
seven pm at Zane Trace High School tomorrow, and then
for sure we're gonna be back on the air next
Tuesday from Southeastern High School. That'll be a late start,
that'll be an eight thirty start. That'd be the second
(01:59:33):
game at Southeastern that night, and that'll be where the
Uniodo Sherman's will take on Fairfield Union, So that'll be Tuesday.
If Zane Trace would happen to win next Friday or tomorrow,
they'll play Monday. So again we have the possibility of
a lot of games next week, which is fine with us.
We love to go on and doing games and we'd
(01:59:54):
love to see these guys continue.
Speaker 2 (01:59:55):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:59:56):
I do know Westfall did lose tonight, so the SBC,
I believe aDNA is still.
Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
Playa Adeena advance to play Eastern Eastern.
Speaker 4 (02:00:05):
I think they played Tomorrow night as well as Zane Trace,
and I.
Speaker 3 (02:00:10):
Think Valley would be an action night that I have
not heard of score.
