Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is high school basketball on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Now let's head the game say for today's pregame show
on ninety four Country.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Good evening, everyone, and welcome inside Huntington High School. I'm
Shane Holmes alongside Lou Posted and you're listening to Hernstein
Hyundai SVC Game of the Week here on ninety four
Country WKKJ. And as we wish everyone a happy new year.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
As we get going here in twenty twenty five, Lou,
I guess I'll get to the two teams here in
just the second. First SBC player wraps up first Round
to night. It's just kind of good to be back
in the gym. It's nice to have some time off,
but your job allows you to that. But from the
coach speaks, sometimes that's an outer routine, lack some consistency.
(00:51):
Talk to us a little bit about handling basketball throughout
the holiday season.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Yeah, the winner sports season very difficult. Time, you got weather,
you've got holidays. It's just something you have to deal
with all the time. And as a veteran, you know,
you look a guy like Rick. Rick's been around a while,
you know, being a veteran, you know how to handle
that stuff. You know, Hey, no school, you got to
keep the kids in sort of a routine, uh, keeping
(01:17):
them in a routine as far as basketball wise as well.
And uh, you know it is good to have that
time off, you know, let them go enjoy their families,
celebrate the holidays. But yet you have a job to do,
and that job is to play basketball. And you know
you've got to make sure you stay on uh, stay
the course. And you know, both these teams a lot
(01:40):
of you know, I guess changes. I think we're gonna
see tonight the debut of Landon Gerald for this season
for this Saint Trace team. That's gonna be a big
spark for them and this Huntington team. You look at
this team, this is a team that's you know, up
and down. They've played some good teams very close, uh
and they've had times where they just struggled to score.
(02:02):
So you know this is a team too. They're trying
to improve and get better as the year goes on.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Well, let's start with the visiting team, the same Trace Pioneers.
They come in at eight to two overall, five and
one in the SBC. HI there to the top with
Westball and Uniota and you know they are. They're a
complete team.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
We've had them before.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
They're very versatile. They come in averaging right around fifty
five a game and we give up about forty nine.
And as you said, getting their all Ohio guard back
from a year ago is only gonna make them better.
A lot to like about them. Kind of take us
through what you really like about this year's Pioneer squad.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Well, you know, last time we saw them, or we
did a game with them, that was at Unioda where
they you know, had a bad stretch towards the end
of the game and end up losing that game. And
the very next night they went and played a very
good Miami Trace team and lost that game. That's your
two losses on the year. They are a complete team.
I'm this is a veteran team, very composed team, and
(02:58):
when you add a player like Gerald into that mix,
that's only going to make it better. Now, you and
I had talked off the air, how does that work?
How does that come back in? And you know, how
did the minutes get divvyed out and stuff like that.
I think a lot of these players had played with
Jerald for a long time, and I think It's just
going to be one of those easy transitions. Now, how
(03:19):
is coach Cassidy going to handle that?
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Being the first year coach here as a dres You know,
he's been around too, He's coached Circleville and things like.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
That, so I'm sure he's going to handle that as well.
But it'll be interesting to see how Jerald helps this
team and how he fits in.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Well.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I guess well said. We talked all year long about
how the same trace chemistry seems to be really good.
It's not like you're just throwing some role player there.
You're running Ohio guard average sixteen a game from a
year ago. Obviously they knew he was coming, so I
think that's the transition that will be very smooth. Let's
go over to the home team tonight. Huntington comes in
one and eight, one in five inside as BT play
(04:01):
and look, that's not where they wanted to be. I
felt like from last year six and seventeen record. I
think a lot of the talk in the township was
there going to be able to take a step forward.
I know sometimes it's possible to do that, even though
the record doesn't always say yes or no. And when
I look there you talked about a little bit and
your opening there, the West Fall game here at home,
(04:22):
the Paint Valley game, they come from twenty down, had
a three pointer in the air to tie it. The
Western very good team had them opening night. I watched them, Amanda.
They boys seven point lead two minutes ago, got beat
at the buzzer. So again, coach Urey doesn't need need
to get on here and make excuses. But you know,
one in eight could easily be reading three and six,
four and five, and you'd feel differently about it. With
(04:42):
all that said, you've been you've been through this a
long time, Like how does he continue to look at
his his his team that mixes young and old and
kind of keep them working toward the common goal here
at the end of the year.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
It's one of those things where you need some positive
things to happen for you, and it could take one
or two things that really he turns of the season around.
It could be tonight. You know, they come out here
and play a complete game tonight against his aint Trace.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
It could change the whole impact of this game. Now
they're gonna get perched back.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
He had been out injured as well tonight, and I
think that's gonna help a little bit with the offense.
But this is a very dangerous team. They have athletes,
they have some young athletes as well. Uh So it's
a dangerous team in the way in the way that
if you have to come and play at Huntington and
they are ready to play that night, you're in for
(05:32):
a barn burner and they can get after you defensively.
I know coach Urg that's you know basically what he
instills in his teams. And you know, it is good
to see coach Ury back on the sidelines. I coached
against him. It was fun always coaching against him. And
he brings a little animation to the sideline as well well.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
It certainly he certainly does. And you've talked about if
this is one of the real tests in terms of
road tests that you go through in the side of
alley conference. You mentioned sometime needing something to jump jump
start the season. How about an upset win on a
Friday night when you get a chance to have a
league leader coming here. So you're exactly right, coming up
about six minutes to go into pregame, Lou Posts Shane
(06:13):
Holmes will step away for a quick time out and
We'll come back and continue our pregame coverage here on

Welcome back, Huntington High School, Jane Colins Lou posted and
we continue our pre game coverage here on the Hernstein
Hunday SBC Game of the Week on ninety four Country WKKJ.
It's Zane Trace visiting Hunnichton and lou You look around
the side of Aley Conference. We mentioned there in our
first segment, Zane Trace, Westball and Uniota all tied there
at the top at five and one. Got a big
(08:51):
match up out in Bainbridge in ice Southeastern and Paint
Valley going to break a three three tie there to
see who wins the first half and at that final
top spot, which I'm sure is a big goal of
those two particular programs, uh, you know, and then piked
in at two and four, Punicton at one and five.
As we said in a dinah and six. As you
look up and mail those standings and you think about
(09:12):
some of the matchups tonight, give me something that jumps.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Out at you outside of Valley Conference on the boy
side this year, Well, I think this that Southeastern Paint
Valley game is a big game. You know, which one
of those teams wants to be in that top end
which one? And again we had talked about how both
both those teams are dangerous for those top three teams. Uh.
I know u Junyoto has to go to Paint Valley
(09:36):
and Southeastern in the second half, so those are going
to be dangerous teams for those top end teams. Uh.
But you know, how will Unyoto handle going all the
way down to Piked in here tonight? Piking is always
a tough place to play.
Speaker 8 (09:48):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
They have the big kid inside and how how were
you needed to be able to handle that road test? Uh?
Down there? So a lot of things to be answered here.
Uh in Zane trays, how how are they going to
here on the road start the second half of this season?
I think Westfall has a Dina at home tonight and
you know, well, will Westwall be able to hold term
(10:10):
or will that Adena team who has been playing better
as of late to step up and make a big
statement win? So a lot of things here and again
getting back into the routine. We're going to be going
back to school here soon, these kids. And you know,
twenty twenty five, which is still tough to say, not
just coming out of your mouth, but twenty twenty five
(10:32):
has started and all these teams want to make a
statement here in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
You know, it's interesting to me in preparation for the
scoreboards show later tonight, and again, make sure you check
that out the accro heating full of the plumbing scoreboards show.
I'll be a Vanessa, George City News if I get
started around nine point forty or so. One of the
things in my notes I'd love to get your take
on is looking around the SVC at the top of
the standings of Zane Trace who Uniota. They do it
with a collection of talent. But I think of like
(11:00):
Ray at West Fall, I think of Carson Free at
Fang Island. You know you mentioned that Henry could have
piked the man I'm missing some I'm just trying to
show you an example here night and night out. Some
night you're you're your focused on guard play. Some nights
your purpose on a post player. How much does that
really challenge the foundation of your defensive principles when you
start playing this Tuesday Friday grind and you start getting
(11:21):
in the SBC plays, Uh, give me a coaches perspective
on night down the stretch here.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yeah, and again, it's it's something that you have to
take game by game. You can't look ahead. You have
to look at what's in front of you and what
that team poses.
Speaker 10 (11:34):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
You know, you go to Pike and you got to
handle that inside presence that bone j Henry has uh.
And you know, a team like Southeaster or you can
never know who's going to score for that team. They're
all capable of doing it. So you have to really
take it game by game. You cannot look ahead. And
as you said the Tuesday Friday thing, you know, you
play your Tuesday game and then you look for your
(11:57):
next game on Friday starting on Wednesday. So it's fun
as a coach. I loved it. I love planning for games.
I love planning for, you know, one game and then
looking forward to the next end. My wife hated it
because she's never really seemed like you enjoyed wins as well.
I was always there looking ahead as to what I
needed to do and try to stop other players of
(12:20):
the team. But that's that's the fun of coaching. Then
that's why coaches do it well.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Again, it's Zane Trace at Huntington. It's your Hernstein Hundi
sec game of the week, blue posts. Shane Holmes will
step away for a time out and come back with
the starting lineups.

Welcome back to Huntington High School. Shane Combs Loup hosted
as we're coming up here on the starting lineups for
both Jane tray Say and Huntington. If you you look
on the Jamee tray side, as we mentioned, they're coming
back to full strength here tonight is what we anticipate.
But throughout the year, by the way Coach Tyler Cassidy's
been able to run them out has been Brady and
Stewart a six four junior, Noah Houston a six to
(15:40):
three senior, Asra a rip of the five ten senior,
Lynn and Robinson a six ' to two senior, and
gun on McAll of a six two junior. And we'll
see again throughout the night if anything changes there in
terms of how the minutes go. But that's been the
five lou that Coach Cassidy's right now, I know you
really like that versus untility and you talked about the
(16:02):
ability for a lot of these different kids to do
a lot of different things.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Yeah, and really, to me, this team really goes as
Gunner Mapela goes. He's the guy that really keeps this
team going, keeps a lot of balls alive, especially on
the offensive end, offensive rebounding, and he is really good
inside of knowing where he is and getting those opportunities
to score. And he's a great defender inside as well.
(16:28):
This is a team I think he's doing. Coach Cassidy,
I'm going to bring Jerald slowly, probably off the bench
and getting into those minutes. But I guarantee you Jerrold's
itching to get into the game here and get this
senior season going.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
But question and over on the other side with Huntington,
you know one interesting stop. This is completely unofficial, but
I was looking through here in the pregames. Off the
top of my head, I believe seven different Hunting kids
to score double figures in a game this year. So
it shows you a little bit. I know there's the
one in eight mark and you're trying to find yourself
(17:06):
in some identity, but it just kind of shows you
on a given night, this Hunting team can be as
dangerous as we talked about.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Yeah, and again if they can all seven put it
together at the same time.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
I noticed also in some of those things, I think
they've only scored sixty points once this year. That was
here in the very first game, and they've only had
one other game they scored in the fifty. So again,
that team that has struggled to score, but has guys
capable as as you said, to score those double figures well.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
And again throughout the year with that balance. So Juri
certainly used a lot of different types of lineups, a
lot of different combinations here tonight, it looks like he
is going to go with Frankie Hurst of five to
eleven sophomore. He's going to be joined in the back
court by freshman guard just five five when his spell,
(18:00):
and then Calvin Manson, he's a six to one junior,
does a nice job in the post there, and then
Gabe Beardsley, a six foot senior, and then the fifth
starter there I think.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
I missed it.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
You catch up fifth starters Eli Airy Navy fifty Yeah,
five seven jor And again Eli is one of those
seven guys that I'm referring to. But on a given
Night can really get it going from the three point
line and can really fill it up. So again, if
I have that mark right, it's going to be Hirsch, Smith, Airy,
Manson and Beardsley is the way coach, You're go run
(18:34):
him out for the hustling hunt.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Yeah, and again you can see that Zane Trace clearly
has the size advantage out there on the floor. Right now.
We'll see how they use that. See if they don't
try to get the ball into mccullor or even use
Landon Robinson a lot in that the post area.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Here we go opening tip Manson versus Houston. Manson gets
up and docks it into the back court and Huntington'll
have first as Esson to Night. As Hirst brings it
in the scrimmage area, drives hard right baseline back out
top Smith. He'll come back right wing the hirsh He's
guarded there by. Houston comes on to the right side.
It's the right corner to Airy wanted Manson in the post.
(19:16):
Pretty good denial there from Saint Trace. They'll swing it
left side Beardsley all the way back to Hurst, drives
into the elbow cross court nearly picked off. Now it
is out comes to the call of Zane Trace at
the steal. He pulls up and a good hustle from
Hurst to knock it away that Zane Trace will keep possession.
First opportunity for the zame Trace offense.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
We're just twenty.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Seconds in no score. Lannon Robinson has it and it
looks like Hunton will start and their two three matchup.
Saint Trace gets at quarterback the way they want it
and now go into their own offense. It's Robinson on
the left side into the corner. Stewart'll try a three
no good fight for the lead bound. The call comes
out with it. Zamee Trace will get another opportunity. Now
(19:58):
it's right corner. Houston thought about a three good shot
faith Gripeth down the middle, little floater over to top.
McCall on the offensive rebound. Mccaulla won more time and
lays it in gut her McCall a good effort.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Putsing Trace on the board for yeah, two offense or
three offensive rebounds there McCullough in that possession alone.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Good ball pressure from Houston against Hersch as he brings
in the scrimmage area. Wants high post there to beards Lee,
but Robinson takes it away. Now Manson over on the
right side, helps break the five.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Count great man defense by Zean Trace doing a great
job of being in good help side position and ready
to knock away cutters as well.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Manson On a hard drive to the right hand, good
body control, absorbs some contact. Shot won't go, but he
will get fouled and he'll go to the free throw
line to shoot our first free throws of the evening.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah, that was a good drive there by Manton getting
all the way to the bucket, giving himself an opportunity
to get two shots at it here.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
You know, Manson, only listed at six p' one, plays
a little bigger than that. He is a versatile athlete,
but strength wise certainly matches up in the post. His
first free throw, no good second attempt that one will
goes to Huntington on the board, same Trace two, Huntington one.
Just a couple of minutes into this Friday night SBC
(21:21):
basketball as well, come to the end of the first
round here inside of Valley Conference Plug Robinson out top,
goes right side to Stewart. They move the ball back
and forth against the zone a little bit ale. It's
Houston on the left side McCall and will pretty much
go into the post and that's where they'll try to
get at that time. They do drop the bounce pass,
good help from Huntington, knocks the ball away, out comes
(21:41):
Beardsley with it. Smith over on the left side, throws
it back towards beards and throws it away. Robinson runs
down the loose ball and he'll go lay it in
on the other end. Nice job of laying and Robinson
not quitting on it and Coach Urrick then to go
and take a short time out, so we'll stay here
with them. But right off the bat, some sloppy ball handling,
but gives dang Trace credit for winning the loose bowl.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
And that's shooting on the other end. Yeah, Zaint Trace
really aggressive on their deep man man defense thing with
Huntington on the defensive end, they're playing that zone, but
they have got to do a better job of rebounding.
If they do not rebound any better and give Zane
Trace multiple shots at it, they're in for a long
night now. They were able to get a steal last time,
(22:25):
so that's something they're gonna have to do. Be aggressive
in that zone defense and see if they can give
more of those steals.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
You know what happens a lot of times on the
rebounding you mentioned early going. Zane Trace already has a
nice size advantage, but then when you don't keep the
ball in front, you have to rotate. Now you're really
in trouble on the offensive line.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Little uh pressure here by Zane Trace.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Nice little rink out of the time out a little
one two two three quarter court Smith against the trap
was right side to Hirsch. They braced a ten second
count now into the scrimmage area. Bail mode of beards Lee,
turn around jumper up off the rim, no good rebound
stewart of Zane Trace outcome the Pioneers left side. It's Robinson.
He drives hard to the baseline, a baseline kick to
(23:07):
Houston from the right corner and his three ball is good.
Zane Trace out. Can I start up seven to one? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (23:12):
That was a great pass there by landon Robinson finding
him on the backside corner.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Back against the three quarter court pressure one more time.
Huntington does a pretty good job, but then in the
scrimmage area froze the way and out comes Aane Trace
with another secondary break opportunity. This time it's Stewart in
the right corner for three and who dials it up.
That's the ten to one. And again one more time
out here from coach Jurick. Again just the short one.
(23:38):
This will stay. But there's an example. Now out of
the time out, they go to the three quarter court pressure.
Didn't necessarily turn it over in the full court, but
that kind of ended up speeding them up a little bit.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Calls the turnover in the scrimmage area. Yeah, and you
know we saw this Saint Tray's team against Unioto didn't
shoot the ball well that night. Wow, they've come out
here hot here in the first quarter and again and
it's coming off their defense. You know, if you're a
good defensive team, you're going to make the most of
those opportunities. And they are pushing the ball off the
floor and finding those open opportunities.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Well, Landon Robinson lou comes in averaging a most seven
assist a game. It's just that his size, his basketball
Q doing a real nice job of finding some shooters
there and getting them some easy looks to get going.
And he's his presence on the floor and never gets flustered.
It seems like he's always calm, in control, and he
does a great job for this team getting out of
(24:31):
a timeout this time z Ain't Trace mixed up a
little bit more this time in a full court man
looking to run and jump out of it, and Hurst
left his feet and as he comes back down he's
going to be called for the travel. So give Tyler
Cassidy credit out of both timeouts. Just throwing a little
different look at the young backcourt of hunting early on.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
Here you can see the maturity of Ain Trace and
the youth of Montington as we get a great ovation
here by the Vain Trace. Faithful for Landon Gerald coming
into the game for the first time.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Yeah, really good stuff. The fan base recognizing the long
road back for their they're all Ohio guard and again
Jerald's first action of the year, certainly a big boost
for the Pioneer. Oh great cut, Yeah, load to high
you said, a great cut to the middle there and
landing Robinson just a little bit of a jump hook.
Twelve one Zane Trace. We're only four minutes into this
one in the Pioneers really clicking on both ends. Back
(25:26):
On Smith of Huntington goes left side Beardsley. Jane Trace
does a good job on the midline, bumping some cutters there.
Now hersh on the right side. He'll try a three
and he got it. Much needed offense for hunting in
the settle went a little bit. Frankie Hurst styles up
a triple.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Yeah, they've only had two shots at the bucket here
in the first quarter so far.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Twelve four Zane Trace three point fifty left first quarter.
Now again Huntington in that matchup zone. Jane Trace in
the zone. Offense is swinging it side to side. Had
little confusion on where they want him. Now they seem
ready to go again. They'll try to get Macalla down
there on that baseline. This time it's Stuart free ball
(26:08):
in the right corner. A little too strong outcomes Smith
will Huntington with a rebound. They'll push ahead to Airy.
Arry drives hard to the right hand, back out to
Beardsley his mid range pull up jump from no good
fighting for the loose ball and I think Huntington hit
it last one of these.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Dane Trace basketball again nice looked there by Beardsley at
the bucket. Heat had a couple of those, just haven't
been able to get him to fall.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Looks like we have a phone come out of the
Studi section there, so Stuart doing a little bit of
everything in there for the five ears this evening. Huntington
now into a little bit of full court pressure and
Dame Trace throws it out over the top and rip it,
runs it down, drops the bounce pass off to Stewart
and he lays it in fourteen fours. Ain't trax.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
He drew both the fenders to him and left Stuart
wide open on the backside.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Three minutes to go first quarter and z ain't traced
by ten Huntington with the basketball. Harry back up top
to Hirsh. What Manson now on the white point he's
he hits Beardsley on a cut, nice step through back
out to Manson. Now it's Smith left side, Hirsh drive step.
He'll try another three this time no good. Ripeth out
(27:23):
with the rebound. He throws it away out in front
of McCall and athletics catch and finish from Gunner mccaulough
sixteen to six. Ain't Trace out for a twelve point advantage.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
That was a nice look down to the floor and
you know McCulla is always going to be under control.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
That comes Huntington, Manson top the key left side. Beardsley
gets a ball screen for Manson. Now on the pop,
gives it back to Manson. He's guarded there by Robinson.
Now it's out top Smith. Beardsley on the cut, nice catch,
kicks it out for the left corner, and that is
(27:59):
Colvin Manson showing off some of that versatility. Is he
knocks down a three cuts does ain trace lead to
nine at sixteen seven?
Speaker 4 (28:05):
Yeah, that was a nice step out by him and
nailed dead.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Three one forty nine left first quarter zine trace with
the basketball and a nine point advantage. Jarl has it
over the left side, thought about a three. Now it's
right side Stuart. Good patience from the Pioneers, but this
time Aary steps in front and picks it all. He
breaks out into the open court. Good hustles from Robinson
is going to stop the hunting fast break. But Huntington'
(28:31):
at least have possession of the basketball. Smith backs it
back out and resets him. Good shot fake there from
hersh He'll pull up at the elbow and a good
looking shot fake and knock down a mid range jumper.
Frankie hirshch Just like that, sixteen to nine Huntken's starting
to settle into the basketball.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Yeah, you don't see that shot big very much, but
it is very effective if you do it right.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Huntington's staying active in the matchup zone. Now it's left corner,
it's Stuart for three and he knocks it down again.
Grady Stewart comes in with twenty two threes on the
Year's already added two to that total, so twenty four
now really shows his ability to change the game in
a hurry. Left side, it's airy back up top, it's
(29:15):
hersh nineteen nine Zaye Trace. Where at forty two seconds
first quarter, that looks like Zane Trace has popped into
a little bit of a zone. He's given a little
bit of a different look. Robinson will look the push
off of the turnover. He hits Jerald left side his
three no good, But mccaula is there on the foot
back gunner. Mccaula, twenty one nine, Zaye Trace. Huntington looks
(29:38):
the push with only twenty to shoot.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Yeah, I wanted that one to go down there for Jerrold.
He had a nice look at it.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Manton at the high post elbow, right corner, it's Aria
and his spree ball is good. We here highlighted Eli
Airy there in the early going his ability to shoot it,
and he shows us out there. Twenty one twelve, Zane
Trace back last shot of the first floord in him
and Robertson pops down at three from the left corner.
Just like that day, Trace pushes it back. Twenty four
(30:08):
to twelve. We played one quarter out here in the

Welcome back, heern Stein Condai SBC Game of the Week
here on ninety four Country WKKJ, Shane colnbs Lee postage
and Lou I'm sure as you look down at your
stat sheets, twenty four to twelve, Zane trace the three
ball and a little bit of transition offense seemed to
jump out at me.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
Yeah, both teams shooting the ball extremely well, Huntington for
seven fifty seven percent, three for four from beyond the arc,
Zane Trace ten of fifteen, sixty seven percent, four of
seven from beyond the arc over fifty seven percent.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Opening possession of the second corps are going to go
to Zaane trace and is they're going against that matchup
zone that Huntington continues to play ball was knocked away
and just twenty seconds and going to have a full
time out for Zane Trace were don't step aside, take
it with him, be back in thirty seconds. Here Shane
CON's Leif host you're listening to Hernstein Hondi sec Game

gain Scent beads. Try gain scent. Beeds way fresher than
detergents alone.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Welcome back Huntington High School, Shane Colins lou postage and
just twenty seconds into the second quarter, there had to
time out from Zane Trace. I think just something that
they didn't like there in the in the own offense
to get going. So we're back in action now. Zane
Trace in possession of it, goes left side Jaerald now
left corner to Stuart inside. Juston he drops step pretty
(33:45):
good health defense there. Back out to Stewart. He'll drive
hard baseline and drops off a beautiful pass of a
call and he just missed it rebound. Braydon Elliott of Huntington,
he just checked in and he tries to throw it
down court to Beardsley and it's taken away by Zane Trace.
If I come the Pioneers, Houston left side three pointer
got it, Noah Houston. His second triple of the night
(34:07):
pushes Zane TRACE's lead to the biggest it's been the
night at twenty seven to twelve.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Yeah. I like al Zan and Trey's on their offense.
Good passing and good cutting against his zone.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
Beardually in the right corner drives hard shot up blocked
by Houston, out comes Stewart with a loose ball RiPP
Ifal look to push for Zane, Trace penetrates deep into
the middle, gets it out left side Stewart cross Court's
jail on the penetration right Carson Henneberger, who just checked
(34:39):
in to the game for Huntington. A little bit of
a hand check there. It's gonna be called for a
common file.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
It looks like they're trying to go in one three
one zone here with the guy out Tom. That might
have been the reason for the time out on Zane
Trace making sure they're in the right zone offense.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Yeah, Coach Surg's always played this match up and it
can take on a little a lot of different forms,
you know. In the original form and it looked like
kind of a one to one three, and then as
they start to cheat up, like you said, it takes
on some of the one three one characteristics. Over the years,
Huntington's done a real nice job playing it with great activity.
The man's ain TRACE's size and versatility really able to
(35:18):
skip it and get some good looks here.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Back to action.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Now it's rip it the left side. He'll try a
three and he got it, and the Zame Trace pioneers
have come out firing. I think he's at least the
fourth different guy that's knocked down a three. How it's
thirty to twelve Zane Trace.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Yeah, four different guys have hit threes here tonight for
u Zin Grace.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Colet Parker into the game for Huntington his shuffle cup.
They tried to get it to him on the bounce
pass ball knocked away. Out comes Zane Trace with another
turnover penetration there from from rip knocked away out comes
Parker of hunting He goes all the way coast to coast,
plays it in the five to five Junior Colt Parker
trying to give a spark to his huntsman off the bench.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
Yeah see, I've never we're seeing guys. Seems like they
got three guys about five five five four, very very short,
but again very strong.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Back on the other end, Jerald with the penetration. Hit
Houston in the right corner. Now we'll swing it all
the way around to the left corner. It's Rippeth back
out top Robinson. Five and a half minutes of the half
times ain't Trace up thirty fourteen now Jerald he'll step
just inside the three point line. No good again. McCall
on the offensive glass has just been a handful for
the Huntsmen and Gunner mccallaugh unable to get the shot
(36:31):
to go, but hammered by about three huntsmen. We'll see
who they get it on him.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
That is five offensive rebounds in the first half alone
for Gunner mccallough.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
Wow, look like they got manson there his first team
second Here in the second quarter, mccaullaugh will make a
trip to the free throw line. First free throw good.
I think that's Zaman Tracey's first free throw offensive.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Yes, it is. For thirty one thirteen, mccaulill will get a.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Second looks like Stuart might be ready to check in
for McCall if this second shot goes, and it does
so at thirty two fourteen, Stuart will re enter the lineup.
McCall will get a much deserved break because you said
he's been very active on the offensive glass, and Jane
(37:23):
Trace will extend back out into their one two to
two three quarter court pressure and just like that, Houston
gets a deflection, knocks it away. Jarrow on the drive.
No good tip by Houston, No good. Out comes Stuart
with it left corner to Houston all the way back
out top Robinson and they'll reset five minutes until halftime.
Well just like that, I say that, and they get
(37:43):
a left side to Stuart, and I guess they won't reset.
Grady Stewart will say, go ahead, let me dial up
another and he knocks down another triple thirty five fourteens
ain't tracks. That comes Hunt in the other way, Manson
from the right corner, tried to free and it was
off the iron and up over the top for the
back or to get it back to the Pioneers. Yeah,
that is Stuart's third three of the knight.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
He's already got eleven points.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
As I said, come into the night with twenty two.
So but you do the math there. He's been knocking
down a little bit more than a couple of game
already well over that this evening and in the first
half Stewart over on the right side up top Jerald
now goes right side, Stewart back to Jerald. Now Rippeth
in the left corner. He'll try at three, and he
(38:30):
got it. And when Saint Trade seats it at this rate,
I'm not sure how you guard him and thirty eight
fourteen and proachu're's gonna talk it over here. We'll take
the time out with them again. Zay trace up thirty
eight to fourteen on the Herntsign Honday sec Game of
the Week on ninety four Country WKKJ.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Cut up, Welcome back Huneck and High School Shane Colmes
loop Ho. It's been all Zane Trace here in the
early going. As they lead Huntington thirty eight fourteen Huntington
basketballs would come out of the time out and again
they're against the one two two three quarter court. Huntington
(40:11):
was some pretty good floors facing throws it over to
top to Henneberger, who then will try to drop a
bounce pass to cutting Manson and he was hit and
filed away from the ball. Robinson that's his second that's
going to force him to the pitch. As Judah Hanks
makes his first appearance for the Pioneers and the call
and will also return, replacing Jerrold to be Huntington baseline
(40:36):
out of bounds opportunity of Smith will be the trigger man.
Goes ballside corner there to Henneberger. Henneburger looking to go
one on one, Stewart keeps him out of the middle,
back out top to Smith. Right side, it's Elliott across
court Smith. Now it's Hirsch He'll try a right hand
(40:59):
dribbling pull up mid range. No good out comes Stewart
of Zane Trace of the rebound rip, it will look
to push with the left hand ribble. He gets it
all the way to the rim lay up, no good.
Guess who McCall on another offensive rebound back out. Stewart
finally misses a three and Elliott of Huntington with the
rebound thirty eight to fourteen's ain't trace on top three
thirty eight to go. Here in the first half, Hunton
(41:22):
basketball in the scrimmage area, they tried to hit a
cutter in the middle. They throw it away a loose ball,
fifty to fifty opportunity. Good hustle from Elliott to win
the possession back for Huntington.
Speaker 7 (41:34):
Hall.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
It's Elliott over on the left wing and it looks
like run is Zane Trace foul. I'll be there second
of the quarter. So just the side out of bounds
opportunity for the huntspy.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
Huntington just struggling. It seems like on the offensive end
here trying to get anything. You're talking about some one
on one opportunities. The Ain't trace is a really tough
team to go one on one against because they're really
good at defending the ball.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
From the side out of the band's having trouble getting
it in. Now they'll throw it all the way in
the back court to Smith, who turns the coach Eregon
gets the call, he'll bring it across the timeline, try
to get Manson there on a diagonal to the block.
Good job at Judah Hanks affronting the post. Now back
out top. Smith will try a three no good great
(42:20):
box out from the PAULA yeah, and I think as
a result, going to get the file there on Hirsh Again.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
He just does so many good things for this team.
He's always in the right position. Just a phenomenal athlete.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Thirty eight to fourteen's in trace. Three minutes until halftime,
Stuart will walk it up for the Pioneers. He's guarded
there by Hirsh. Looks like Huntington might be matched up
for this possession here hangs up top right side. Stewart
now will swing it over rub and Berry, who's into
(42:59):
the game for the first time again. Roman's done an
outstanding job, playing about fifteen minutes a night. Lou Obviously,
with Jerald returning, his minutes will go down not because
of anything he's done wrong, but just with the return
of a great player, high post McCall a great backdoor
cut for Stewart on the reverse leg just missed them.
Out comes beards Lee of Huntington to look the push
(43:20):
gives way to Henneberger. Henneberger spin moved right hand floater.
No good offensive rebound from Hirsch. His shot is blocked
out of bounds. Hunting'll keep possession.
Speaker 4 (43:32):
Yeah, Going back to that last played Zane trace, great cut,
great pass by McCullough, and Stewart wasn't able to complete
the play.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Obie underneath wanted Henneberger off a little curl and just
threw it away. But then they poke it away and
Henneburger comes out with it and he lays it up
and in person. Hennenberger with his first two of the
evening cuts his Zane trace lead to thirty eight to sixteen.
Hennenberger played a lot of minutes early in the year
and a starter now coming off the bench here this season.
(44:03):
Left corner at Houston and a Kain. He's one of
the several pioneers that are shooting it with the hot
hend and I dials up another three pointer lead back
to forty one sixteen.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
H Houston has three three pointers on the night, that
is nine. Now for Zane trades here in the first half.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Smith will mbound it on the side ob for Hunton
goes out top to Beardsley. Beardsley guarded by Houston. Now
right side it's hersh Hirsch will penetrate against two Pioneers.
Back out the Smith swing it all the way around
Hennenberger from the left side. I'll try a three too strong.
Barry is Zane traced with the rebound. Jarrol jog it
(44:47):
up with his team in front. Forty one to sixteen.
We're coming up on one fifteen left here in the
first half. It's meant all pioneers. Jerrold use a ball
screen from mccaullaugh. Now penetrates hard to the left hand,
gets all the way to the rim, lay up too strong.
The call with another offensive rebound, misses the shot. Now
Hurst comes out with it, and I think we're gonna
(45:08):
have But I thought originally round a jump ball. Think
we're on the caller reaching in there.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
Yeah, great job of getting the ball all the way
to the bucket there by landon Gerald. That's how we
I mean, that's what we saw all last year, him
getting the ball all the way to the bucket. Now
it's just one of those things where it's gonna start
falling for him. Uh, you know, he should not start pushing.
He he doesn't want to start thinking, Wow, is this
ball ever going to go in for him? Just go
(45:36):
out there, relax and play.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Getting three quarter court hears and Smith with a two
guard front against it, gets it all the way down
the manton. He drops a bounce pass to bear if
he makes a strong move up and in and it's
going to have a chance for an old fashion three.
Gave Beardsley getting on the board.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
Yeah, that was a good job, a good look inside
and took it up strong.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
So forty eight seconds left here in the first half,
gab bearsleyill try to go with finish the three point
play his free throw up, No good. Hurst goes high
up for the rebound and as he comes down I
think was tied up there by Judah Hanks. And nonetheless,
that effort is going to get the possession arrow in
(46:22):
the favor of the Huntsman and they'll get another opportunity
with the obi under.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
I was down there looking at that arrow. It doesn't
look at at oh okay. I see how Verards Smith
all the way out top to Arie. Smith chases it
back and bounds and gets it back. Now hits hersh
up top. It's Arie on the right side. He spins
to the right hand mid range. No good fighting for
the loose ball.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Pretty good box out there by Ezra Rippeth and I
think Arie was the last.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
To touch it.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
He was, so bes ain't trace basketball forty one to
eighteen thirty three seconds left here in the first half
is RiPP of thrings that across lost the timeline guarded
by Smith. See if Zane Tray selects to take the
final shot of the first half, how Jerrold has it?
(47:09):
Coach Cassidy yelling from the opposite in what he wants.
Jerald gets all the way down the middle his shot.
Good health defense there from Calvin Nnsen blocks the shot
out of bound. So fifteen still on the second quarter clock,
it'll be Zane trace basketball underneath box set for the Pioneers.
Goes right corner. Stewart now back to the right side.
(47:33):
Stewart nine to shoot inside of the call of athletic kickout
to Jarrol and on the penetration he lost it, but
he was fouled. So Lou I think that's only going
to be the fourth TM on hunting and so five
seconds to go, Zane Trace is going to have an
opportunity underneath with those baskets.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
They tried to line up here for foul shots and.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
They didn't call that on the shot. No, yeah, I
was that was certainly on the dribble penetration. Good job
of officiating getting together there to get it right. So's
ain't trace on the ob under they drop a bounce
pass into the caller back out to Jerrold who drives
middle good health defense from airing it takes it away
and that's going to bring us through the end of
the first half. Well it's been alls, ain't trace. The
(48:18):

From the opening, it's been a big time performance from
behind the free point line. It's been McCall on offensive glass.
It's been some defenses, changing defense, creating some opportunities just
just your thoughts and what the numbers tell you that.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
Well, again, my thoughts are the numbers do match what
we see on the on the floor. Zay and Trace
has shot the ball extremely well. Fifteen of twenty eight
fifty four percent, nine of thirteen from beyond the arc
at sixty nine percent. You shoot that percentage, you're gonna
win a ton of ball games. They started out eight
of eleven from the three point line, and you know,
(52:37):
nine three pointers in the first half alone is a
staggering stat right there. They were perfect from the free
throw line, two for two. They only had five turnovers
there in that first half. So offensively did a great job.
And again Gunner mccullus seven offensive rebounds there in the
first half. Of any missions that happened, it seemed like
(52:59):
he was there to keep the ball alive and give
them another opportunity. So again, offensively, you just look at
Zane Trace. You know, they're a machine. When they shoot
the ball well, they're going to be a hard team
to beat. And tonight they're shooting the ball well. Jerald,
you know, you can see what he brings this team to.
(53:19):
Quickness and getting the ball all the way to the bucket.
That's only going to open up those guys on the
outside even more when he's able to get to the bucket.
So again, I like what he has done here tonight.
He's not in the scoring call um, but again it
just shows what he can bring to this team once
he starts to the gate going. But again it's those
five guys that they start very good, very complimentary of
(53:43):
one another. Man. I believe we had Grady stored he
had ten or eleven points, Noah Houston nine points, Gunna
maccalla eight points, Landon Robinson seven points, as are ripping
six points. When you get scoring like that in the
first time from your starter, that's your like that.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Well, I thought it was a real mature start for
Zane Trace. They're obviously ready to go, not overlooking anyone.
Coach Jurig tried to help his young squad. They're early
going use a couple of time outs, but can use one,
maybe four to one, ten to one. They had him
back to twenty one twelve late first quarter, but the
Pioneers hit one of those nine degrees to beat the
(54:22):
buzzer to push it back to twelve and then down
the second quarter to continue to go hunt if you
call timeout and at thirty eight fourteen and then obviously
ain't trace finished at all forty one eighteen. Now a
lot of people might be listening and say, all with
Shane and Lewis, coach is just saying coach speak things
about not old to look at anyone. Well, if the
if the report I got was Akron after Westfall led
(54:45):
ten to four at the end of the first quarter
and DNN now leads.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
Into half forty seven to sixteen.
Speaker 3 (54:50):
So it gives you an idea. But what you talked about,
it's not just coach speak. You really do have to
be ready to play each every night in the side
of Ala.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
Kava, you sure do. And tonight was ready to play.
They you know, we know, hey, going on the road,
you never know what can happen. They were ready to play,
and that's what you have to be every night. Now, Huntington,
that second quarter they really struggled offensively, only scored six points,
and the numbers show that they were seven of seventeen
in the first half forty one percent, three of seven
(55:18):
from beyond the arc, and really out their eighteen points,
nine of them have to come from beyond the arc,
so that sort of kept them. When you say kept them,
that sort of provided them the offense that they have
so far. They just got to make sure they take
care of the basketball. They had nine turnover there in
the first half. Again, they ain't trace making the most
(55:40):
of those opportunities on those turnovers and turning them into points.
Huntington's got to make sure they protect them all a
little bit better and get more opportunities to score the ball.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Let me ask you about hunting real quick. You know
from what I watched them earlier in the year, playing
some different combinations. Getting more young kids involved now than
what I had seen earlier and the year obviously, forty
one to eighteen here at a half time is going
to be an uphill challenge. But you come back with
Alexander home tomorrow night. You've got a Dina who is
your one SBC went earlier in the year, You got
(56:10):
them as you turned to the second half here that
comes on Tuesday night before you welcome Southeastern next Friday night.
Give me an idea of what coach Urg's trying to
get out of the next sixteen.
Speaker 4 (56:19):
Minutes for his young Huntsman dur Hey, he's late eight
guys there in that first half, and really he's gotten
good some good minutes out of all eight of those guys.
You look at Hirst, he's done a good job of
getting his shot off. You also look at Beardsly, he's
got a lot of nice shots on the inside. And
Manson just does a lot of good things for this team,
(56:40):
just keeping the ball alive, keeping defensive guarding guys. So again,
this is a team. They just got to keep battling
and try to make positive plays as many as they
can throughout the quarters. And you know, just put in
some quality quarters. If you come out here in the
third quarter and you win the quarter, that's that's a
(57:00):
win for the Huntington And you looked at who.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
They started to get us aphomore, a freshman, two juniors
and a senior. A young team. You're looking at a
lot of uh, you know, you look at Huntington also,
they just don't have the height out there.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
They play three guys that are five to five and smaller.
That's a very difficult thing in the varsity basketball game.
But again they're trying, they're hustling, they're they're doing what
they can. Coach Jerry just got to be looking and
thinking that's Zaint Tray's ever gonna miss a three because
you know, nine threes in a and one half is tremendous.

Welcome back to Huntington High School. Shane Colins lou Post
is ready for some second half action. It'll be Zane
Trace basketball to get us started. Looks like they'll coach Cassidy.
He'll run his starters back out there with Stuart Robinson,
Rippecallum in Houston for Huntington will be Hirsch, Arey, Smith,
(59:32):
Elliott and Parker Rode in the back court to Robinson
and he'll bring it up to get the second half
action underway. Across the timeline goes left side, rip it
wanted mccaulla down on the post. Good denial there from
Elliott right side. Now it's Robinson. He'll drive hard to
the right hand. He'll step through move and lays it in.
Speaker 4 (59:52):
Nicely done.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Landon Robinson.
Speaker 4 (59:55):
You have a very strong move there, Huntington and man
to man right now, just trying to overplay things and
trying to be very aggressive.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Smith brings it up against good ball pressure goes left side.
It's a Parker. Parker dribbles back up top. Now wants
to penetrate pull up jumper. The elbow misses everything out
comes Aine Trace with a rebound. They'll look to push
throw it out in front and Rippeth side steps the
charge opportunity there for Smith misses the layup and I
(01:00:24):
think as the ball comes out Rippeth it was the
first to touch it before re establishing himself in the
court to plod.
Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
Yeah, and again the guy who kept the ball alive
there was McCullough giving Zan Tres a chance, but Rippeth
touched the ball while he was still out of bouncing person.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Smith dealing with some backcourt pressure. As they get into
the scrimmage area. Smith on the drive takes too many
steps called for the travel going to turn it back
over to Zane Trace. Forty three to eighteen Zane Trace.
Just a minute into the second half. Here, now Hunt
and I'll pick up in some full court man and
they'll just throw it over to top used McCall a's side.
He goes diagonal to Houston, who tried to drop a bounce,
(01:01:06):
passed back to mccaullough, picked off there by Smith. Smith
tries to throw it way out over top. Knocked the
way momentarily, but Hunting'll keep possession. Now it's going to
be a ball screen for Parker and Elliot. We actually
rejects the ball screen and goes to the right hand dribble.
When he loses it, ball loose in the middle. Out
comes Huntington with it and Airy on the drive left
(01:01:27):
hand lay up. No Good gets it back. It's kind
of a sloppy start with good effort from Hunting. Now
nearly throws it away first, keeps possession high post Elliott.
Elliott goes right side Parker out top Smith. He'll step
into a three No good. Houston of Zane Trace goes
up high for good two handed rebound.
Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Nice job, Noah Houston.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
Zane Trace will take possession of the basketball is they'll
hand it off the Robinson Hill across the timeline high
entry there to rip it. Wanted the back door to steal.
He does throw a pretty good job by Hirsch, but
Stewart comes away with it. Pack out top Dane Trace
will reset. We're just two minutes into the second half,
forty three eighteen. Zane Trace rippeth on the left side,
(01:02:12):
drops a bounce past and a call at a good
denial there from Ellie. It's gonna cause the turnover. Pretty
good job there, Lou of Braden Ellie at working hard.
Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
On the post. Yeah, And Huntington's come out here in
the second half and played really aggressively on the defense
and offensive end. I think that's what coach Eric was
talking about at half time. We got a time out
here by Zane Trace.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
We I'll tell you what though, We'll stay here this
time and I'll ask you this. So far here in
the first couple of possessions, it's kind of been sloppy
on both ends. But I feel like Huntington defensively, the
thing that jumps out of me is it has tried
to turn it up a little bit here in terms
of competing on each matchup.
Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
Yeah, and again they're not allowing the cuts that Zaane
Trace made early to go open. They're really doing a
good job and cutting away, taking away those cutters and
not giving those passing lanes. And but again it's just
been all about aggressiveness and it looks like he's trying.
Coach Jerg's trying different combinations. We got, you know, different
(01:03:11):
five start a year and second half. But again, he
just want to gets hit. He wants his kids understand
you have to play aggressive at the varsity level, and
you gotta play aggressive at both ends at the varsity level.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Well, we talked about hunting and being back in action
tomorrow night. When Alexander comes calling here in a non conference,
I believe that's girls boys. Don't quote me on that,
but I think that's the girl's boy. And if that is,
that's that's an outstanding girls matchup as well. Alexander's got
a very talented group there on the girl's side. Zane
Trace will be all this weekend from this point on
and we'll have the big game with West Fall. Coach
(01:03:48):
Jurgg's like, hey, it's forty three and eighteen. It was
our basketballs ain't Trace jumped out like they're gonna take it.
Coach Urgg revided that it was their ball and Hudderton
will get it now.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Yeah, they can't get anything. Pat coach Erry, he's always
been knows what's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Parker of Huntington brings it across the timeline Zane Trace
guarding man the man. Parker comes off a ball screen
from Elliott. Now hits Elliott on the roll when the
left he gets all the way to the round. He
plays it in nicely, does Bradon Elliott.
Speaker 4 (01:04:18):
Very nice pick and roll there for Huntington.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Stewart brings it up a little run and jump from Huntington,
trying to cause a little bit of tempo and turn
over Stuart's mid range jumper no good rip up on
the offensive rebound and his shot attempt no good that
he's fouled. Stewart got to the mid range there it
looked like he might have been hit on the arm
a little bit. Nonetheless, the shot ended up coming up
(01:04:44):
short and hustling. Riffeth was there to get the offensive
rebound and earn himself a trip to the free throw.
Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
A long Hey, you look at the first three minutes
of this quarter and Huntington's played right with Zane Trace,
both teams scoring two points.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
First free throw, no good. Is Jerald makes his first
appearance of the second half to place him Stewart riff off.
It's a free throw line. I'll get a second opportunities
no good once again. Good rebound by Elliott out to Hirsh.
Hunton'll come across the timeline trying to cut into this
twenty three point lead. Good night, good give and go
(01:05:24):
from Hirsh to Smith. Come back to Hirsh and he
lays it in forty three twenty two. Huntington's showing a
little bit of life here in the third quarter.
Speaker 4 (01:05:34):
At two Street offensive possessions that they've done a fantastic
job on in scored. That's going to be a turnover
of isazin Trace, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Jarl look to penetrate. Great help from Smith paus the
turnover and Huntington gets it back with a chance to
push this thing under twenty. Here Hirst brings it up
again a give and go. This time it was Parker
trying to give it back to him, or excuse me,
Erry trying to give it back to him, knocked out
of bounds by Zane Trace. So Huntington will get it
(01:06:03):
underneath where Smith will be the trigger man and bound
Elliott up to airy. Smith comes back to the ball
side corner, nothing there. So now Huntington will look just
to go into a scrimmagery offense, ball up top to hers.
Good denial there, but Hirst comes away with it. Now
Smith will try a right corner three hit the side
(01:06:23):
of the backboard, but Elliott, working hard on the offensive glass,
drops a bounce past and hunting had a point blank
left in mister out comes ain't trace with it. They
try to throw the home run ball to the pop
with Houston and give Colt Parker Loew a lot of
credit on the effort getting back and at least knocking
it away and saving s feat.
Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Yeah. I mean, Huntington's done a really good job here
coming out in the third quarter, playing on both ends
and the offensive end. I really think it's the cutting
that they've done towards the basket.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
Tried to throw over the top on a side out
of bounds to Houston, picked off by Elliot who's been
really active Smith. Now it's back up to Parker. Parker
drives hard to the right hand one is Smith in
the corner and Jane trace just so long. An athletic
Robinson gets his deflection, comes up with a steal. Houston
driving hard to the right hand, shot up, no good
(01:07:15):
rebound by Hirsch. He'll look the push in a two
on two break head to airy Aarry tries to step
through little lean in shot no good. Robinson and Zane
trace with the rebound forty three twenty two. Zane trace
in front three thirty three remaining third quarter. Robinson across
the timeline gives way to mccallap hal up top. It's
(01:07:39):
Jerald goes right side Robinson trying to get now McCalla
to the block and Huntington. As you said, Lou, doing
you a real good job of being a little bit
more physical on the cuts down low and again. Coach
Cassidy just not liking what he sees. He's gonna call
time out and talk it over. We'll take a time out.
Wood the Dane trace forty three hundretson twenty two. You're

Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
Yes, refresh you. Welcome back, Shane cons Lou posteds care
on ninety four Country WKKJ Jane Trace out of the
(01:09:18):
time out with the basketball and a forty three twenty
two advantage to the Stuart Over on the side out
of unds.
Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
As the trigger man, Jane Trace needs a quality offensive
possession here. Their only score has been in transition.
Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
In the third quarter, Jerald has it up top goes
left side, RiPP it back up top. Stewart looks like
out of the time. I have to go to a
little flair screen for Stewart for three a good lookout
of it and no goo. But as a result, offensive
rebound has a ripple flocks it bake just what you're
talking about. Good execution out of time out missed the shop.
We got the second opportunity by comes Huntington the other
(01:09:56):
the other way, trailing forty five twenty two. Elliott left side,
Hirsch Hirsch Wall take a ball string from Elliott, He'll
pull up, shoot that mid range jumper knocks it down.
Frankie Hirst showing off the midrange game deceeven.
Speaker 4 (01:10:11):
Yeah, Hirsh has nine points on the night, and again
he's done a good job shot baking and penetration.
Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
Jerrold coasted Houston gives those fake the past the Robinson
the defense fits a little bit. He keeps it and
he lays it in and and I'm sure good feeling
for Jerald.
Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
To be on the board. That that's what makes him
so good.
Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
His his transition and his getting to the bucket past
picked off by Robinson on the other end, and as
he throws it in the rip of Elliott tried to
step in front take a charge just about a half
second late, gonna be called to the block. I feel
like Elliott's really given Huntington some nice minutes here the
six to two sor.
Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
Yeah, he has, he's come come in and gave him
them the spark here in the second half.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Substitutions on both sides. There now Jane Trace basketball and
the Scrimmagerial wille won four high set, gonna bring jarro
off a double screen. He's gonna curl to the middle
and get all the way to the rims shot up.
No good out comes Beardsley.
Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
From Huntington with the rebound.
Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
He was trapped and as he tries to throw at
diagonal Steward, as Dane Trace picks it off, Jarrold thought
about a three now penetrate drops the bounce pass off
to mcaulla. Good athleticism just to keep his balance and
not travel, and they're gonna bring it back out now
it's rippeth on the drive. He throws a cleaner bounce
passing the call and that's time he lays it in.
Nice job of Jane Trace, just showing the maturity and
(01:11:41):
staying with the possession.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
That was a great offensive possession. They got the ball
where birds, they got the ball inside and here comes
to quick turnover.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
One more time as a rippeth on the on the interception,
unable to convert on the other end, and I think
we had Jerald flying in for the Rebound's gonna be
called for the foul getting good defense, Dane tracious on
able to convert me up a course. Yeah, you gotta
get that ball and chance to go in, get it
high and soft off the glass. Looks like Smith will
(01:12:13):
return and Henneberger will return for Huntington for Huntington. Also
seth rockmoornonon of the game two three zones. What it
looks like Zane Trace is in now and Huntington will
come up a Henneberger left side out top Smith those
right side. Throck Morton hal Beard's lee in the right corner.
(01:12:33):
Wants to drop a bounce past the drock Morton. He
cuts and gets it back shot up blocked by mccallus.
Smith steps in shot no good Manson offensive rebound and
good Alvin Manson sticks with it and scores for the Huntsman.
Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
Yeah, great job of staying with that offensive possession there
with Honeydon and Manson gets a score.
Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
Forty nine twenty six. Back comes Jarl off a high
ball stream and he dials up a three pointer. Landon
Jerald now with five as he gets his second field
goal in his return here tonight in his first action
fifty two twenty six, coming up on thirty seconds to play.
Here in the third quarter, Smith up top for Huntington again.
(01:13:15):
Zane Trace extended out on their zone, Henneberger on the
right side, right in front of the Huntington bench. Smith
penetrate to the middle, great bounce pass to the cutting
pears Lea. The rookie Smith shows off a little bit
that court vision there, makes a nice bounce pass. Great
bounce pass and that was the right pass. Any other
type of pass doesn't get there. The bounce pass did
(01:13:36):
left corner. On the other end, it's Stewart for three
trying to beat the buzzer too strong, and that'll bring
us in of the third quarter. Zane Trace fifty two
Huntington twenty eight. Shane Holmes loop hosts Stay Withers recording
quarter action on the herdsign hondaiy s. We see game
of the week on ninety four Country.

Welcome back to Huntington High School, Shane colmbs lou postage
ready for fourth quarter action with Zane trace out in
front of Huntington fifty two to twenty eight. The Huntsman
will be in possession of the basketball to start the
final quarter as Smith comes across the time line and
tried to hit Beardsley in the high post. I think
we had a kick, Gonna give Huntington the basketball back.
Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
Yeah, both teams are five of eleven shooting there in
that quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
So if you're.
Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
Huntington, you gotta be happy with that quarter. You were
only down one that quarter, eleven to ten, but played
a lot better there.
Speaker 3 (01:15:42):
In the third quarter, Hirsh back up top, Manson, They
swing it all the way left side. Beardsley ends up
with it in the corner. Now Hirsh back up top
comes off a ball screen from Manson again, that mid
range jumper shot, no good in Vanson again he's been
acting on the last shot. No good gets it back again.
Calvin Manson stays persistent and as a result gets him
(01:16:03):
a couple offensive rebounds and two more points. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:16:06):
Ever since he's come in here in the second half,
he's played a lot better, a lot harder.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
Right side Stewart for Zane trace back up top, terrip
it guarded by Smith, now Stewart guarded by beards Swing
it all the way right side. Jerald's got it in
the right corner, trying to get at the McCalla down low.
Manson working hard on the front. Now Stuart will Drive
Hard drops a bounce pass off to McCalla and Smith
(01:16:34):
on the health defense pokes it away and Huntington comes
out with it. Henneberger drops a bounce pass to beards
Lee and they throw it away.
Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
Huntington's done a lot better job here in the second
half on the defensive end, getting their hands on a
lot of basketball is getting opportunity, not allowing Zane Trace
to have those easy buckets.
Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
Yeah, Brenton Smith at five to five, the freshman point
guard just hasn't obviously short, but it has a real
good feel for the game.
Speaker 4 (01:16:59):
Yeah, he knows. He has an idea where people are
going with it. Long pass here for Landon robinsoneh.
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
Hunt can extended out in the full court denial and
Zane Trace just throws it over to tie Robinson. Hard
drive to the hole is no good. Houston on the
offensive put back try was fouled on the rebuild, But
with it being a tipping opportunity, I think they'll get
him in the actor shooting. They will Houston will get
to go to the line and shoot you here, Jane
(01:17:30):
Trace fifty two Hunt through thirty six, thirty nine remaining
in the games. Houston, I don't know what you have there,
Lou seems like you've you knocking on the door of
double figures this season.
Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
He is at nine points right now.
Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
Well, a Jinx team there on the first when he
missed it, maybe he'll bail me out here on the second.
Houston sixth free sire. Second free throw is good, so
he gets me off the hook and it's his team
up fifty three to thirty. Back comes hunting They throw
it away. Out comes Aine Trace with a transition opportunity
(01:18:08):
left corner. It's Jail. He penetrates, drops it off to Robinson.
Shot up, no good. Robinson felt like he was fouled,
but nonetheless outcomes Hunton with an opportunity going the other wise.
Henneberger will try a right wing.
Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
Three if he got it.
Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Fifty three thirty three. Huntington back within twenty six, twelve
remaining in the game, and they'll continue to pick up
full court and try to pressure the Pioneers. O't top.
It's Jerl drives hard Downhill gives way to Houston. Just
a little weave action for Zane Trace trying to turn
the corner here. That time Huntington goes underneath it and
Steward will step back and try a three no good
(01:18:45):
rebound for Huntington. Smith will look the push. Five forty
eight remaining in the game. Hunton trying to get this
lead under twenty and the double team opportunity. Smith trying
to keep the dribble alive. I think he picked it
up and put it back down for the double dribble.
Speaker 4 (01:19:01):
And again that's just a strange factor. Being a young
freshman there and two very mature players come at you.
You got to be able to handle that basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
The call of returns to the lineup, replacing Rip up
there for his ain Trace. Looks like Coach Urg will
also go to the bench. Looks like Harry coming back
in the lineup replaces hirsh So five point forty two
remaining in the game. Fifty three thirty three's Ain Trace
(01:19:36):
out on top Livetton will take it in the back
court and he'll work one on one against Aria across
the timeline goes left side, it's jail Sack out top Houston.
They'll swing at the Steward and Beardsly picks it off.
He streaks the other way, attacks the rim there. Houston
goes up and meets him there and gets a block
(01:19:56):
shot as the ball comes down. Smith, but I don't
know if the ball hit the end line. I couldn't
tell him a signal, could you lose?
Speaker 4 (01:20:04):
They're gonna save Beardsley came back in and touched the
ball before he got completely back in, So they're gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
Get the ball to Zane Trace there Well, great effort
by Beardsley to jump the passing wing, but then give
Houston credit with the block shot on the chase down
on the other end, not giving up on the play
and not giving up to as a result. Fifty three
thirty three, five twenty left in the ball game. Jerrel
brings it up one on one now against the running jump,
hits Stewart right corner, Houston back out top Jerl Jerl
(01:20:36):
will crossover action, hits a cutting Robinson Well then dumps
it off to the call of nice Johns ain't Trace
sharing the basketball?
Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
Yeah? Nice patience there by Robinson. He drove let things happen.
He wasn't in a hurry and found McCullough wide.
Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Open, Hennenburger out on the right wing, guarded closely there
by Jerrol. Looks like Jared got a piece of the
arm when he reaches into the basketball. Gonna be a
foul on lending Gerald the second. That's the first Zane
Trace team foul here. In the final quarter five Griffith
(01:21:15):
returns for Stewart side out of bounds, right in front
of the scorer's table. Here for Huntington, they drop it
in play to Manson, who tried to avoid the over
and back and as a result turned it over out
in the gun's McCallum McCalla will turn and pitch it
to Jerald who drives all the way to the rim.
Reverse layup, no good Manson with the rebound outcomes Parker
(01:21:38):
of Huntington, looking to push Parker up top uses a
ball stream from Manson, now goes right corner Beardsley. Beardsley
wants to drop it into Manson, but again just good
denial on good ball pressure from Zane Tracon. As a result,
they get a deflection in another steal. Fifty five thirty three.
(01:21:59):
Z Ain't tray. We're coming up on the four minute
mark to play in this one Jerrold high ball stream
from McCallum. Jared Jarrol will step back and let the
three ball fly and he's got it so Land and
Jerrold finding a little bit of that touch here in
the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
That's eight points here in the second half for Jerrold, hunking.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
On the other end, Beardsley steps into a mid range
jumper and knocks it down the six foot senior. Good
looking stroke there on the pull up jumper.
Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Yeah, he's got six points on the night. He's got
a good that's a good stroke for him. He drives
the ball a couple of dribbles and he jumps up
and has a good jump jump shot there. Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
On the other end, Robinson catches in rhythm and lets
a three ball fly from the right corner, knocks it down,
and that's just kind of been the theme of the
night for the Zane Trace Pioneer.
Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
Yeah, that's another guy in double figures with twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
Got another turnovers as a rip of steps in front
of the passing lane and go to pull it out.
As Beardsley was back, Jarrold was running the four hard
tried to drop him a belt pass it knocked out
of vail, so will be Zane Trace basketball and we
have mass substitution here for hunting So it looks like
Huntington now is going to have Manson, Beardsley, Elliott, rock Morton,
(01:23:13):
and Henneberger. Jamee Trace still with Robinson to Paul Stewart,
Grippeth and Houston's three point thirteen remaining in this one
sixty one thirty five. Robinson on the drive gives way
to Stuart back out to Robinson, coach Cassidy telling them
to back it back out and use some clock. Robinson
(01:23:34):
on a flare screen now drives hard with the left
hand of the middle drops it off to McCallum Stewart.
Good patience here by the Pioneers. The clock is obviously
the friend at this point, leading sixty one to thirty five.
Now Robinson drops the bounce past the Rippeth. Zane Trace,
not really looking interested in scoring, is going to try
(01:23:57):
to run the clock right side Rippeth back to Robinson
as they play a little catch. Rock Morton of Huntington
trying to go closer to get a little bit of
account there. But the ball movement so far is so good,
and then they throw it away Huntington that was an
opportunity out in transition. Beardsley on the other end of
reverse layup lays it in sixty one thirty seven.
Speaker 4 (01:24:22):
Zane Trace good job of playing defense that long possession
for Huntington, gets a steal. He gets an opportunity to
get a bucket and transition nice store of there by.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Beards Robinson McCall will play a little high two man game.
Robinson's strive ball knocked the way out of bounds. It's
going to be Jane Trace ball as Robinson gets a
nice hand from Zane TRACE's bench and fans as he
checks out for what will most likely be the final
time of the evening. Judah Baker and the or excuse me,
(01:24:57):
Judah Hanks into the aim for Zane Trace and Jerald
also returns for Zamee Trace. I meant to say a
Baker now the freshman and Zaden Baker for a Huntington
into the game as is freshman Canon Kinser to try
try to get everybody's name on the radio. Here is
(01:25:19):
both coaches going deep into their benches. You've got turnover.
Kinser comes out with a steal for Huntington. Throck Morton
up top goes right side Baker Baker off a ball
screen from Kinser and they throw it away and Zane
Trace no more steals the ball in the first dribble
to kick it out of the bunds and don't give
it back up from it, and we got mass substitutions
(01:25:41):
now for Zane Trace looks like Sebastian Ray into the lineup,
Roman Berry into the lineup, Jamison Hill?
Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
Who else am I missing there? Because he gets.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
Can't get that number down there, Henneberger on the drive.
Good hustle here on the loose ball. Everybody going to
the floor after it. I think it was Noah Kai Kaiser.
That was good hustle by Noah. They're going to be
foor for the loose ball, gets the tie up and
possession arrow. As you said over there at the sports table,
(01:26:26):
playing tricks in the eyes does favor the Pioneers. Sixty
one thirty seven. It's been all Zane Trace here tonight.
Coming up on a minute twenty to play, Barry comes
across the timeline guarded by Parker. Say, Trace will look
to run some clock here. Barry's got it back on
the right side. Crossover dribble looks to penetrate comes back
(01:26:52):
up top its tanks, gonna swing it over the left
side Kaiser and again Zane Trace got the clock moving
under a minute here.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
As they look to just run the rest.
Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
Out, they try to throw it over the top to Ray,
but a good front for the gener tender with another
steal and a hard drive by throck Morton is going
to earn him a trip to the free throw line.
And you know the freshman chinzer lou On two defensive possession,
very active on the midline and that time on the front,
coming up with a couple steals for the hustle. Yeah,
(01:27:23):
and again that was a good transition opportunity getting the
ball all the way to the bucket from rock Morton,
giving himself a chance to get two points here.
Speaker 4 (01:27:31):
But defensive defensive intensity for the second half has been
much better for a Honey too.
Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Seth rock Morton first free throw good sixty one thirty
eight and rock Morton will again the five to seven
senior will get one more opportunity. Seth an outstanding multi
sport athlete here at Huntingson's second free throw no good,
but the long rebound comes back out the hunt and
Baker with an offensive reband goes cross court crock Morton,
(01:28:03):
a little mid range jumper comes out on him and
then drop back in two more.
Speaker 4 (01:28:08):
Rock Morton sixty one forties.
Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
Ain't Trace leader at twenty one right side. It's very
He drives hard, drops off a bounce past the Ray
who tries a little mid range jumper. No good. Kinzer
had the rebound momentarily, but then Hill and Zane Trace
just takes it away and as he goes on the
power move is hammered on the shot attempt. So he's
going to earn a trip to the free throw line.
(01:28:31):
The five eleven junior Jamison Hill.
Speaker 4 (01:28:36):
Yeah, that was a good job there, just staying with it,
getting yourself an opportunity.
Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
Hill's first free throw, no good. He'll get one more
as he tries to get into the varsity scoring scoring
column here this evening, just twenty four seconds to play.
Zaine Trace sixty one hundred and forty. He'll second opportunity
comes up short on him. No goods. Good hustle by
(01:29:05):
Henterberger for a loose ball. I was actually Hill there
as well, and they tied one another up and the
possession Arro will be Huntington going back the other wise.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
Yeah, you're talking about small or small wins here for Huntington.
Right now, they're up twenty two to twenty. Here in
the second and.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Half Henneberger up top guarded by Barry. Barry takes it
away from him and as a result, is going to
be fouled there by Hennenberger. Only the third file said,
Barry's not going to get a free throw opportunity at
sixty one to forty with just ten seconds to go,
Let's see if they pulse it into the bike cord
here and just walk it across the timeline. We'll see
(01:29:44):
how both teams decide to handle it head down. The
Barry brings it up against Parker and again as he
crosses the timeline, it looks like there's going to be
no count and that's the way things are going to
end up day Trace wins in sixty one overhun Shank,

Welcome back to hunting than high School Shane Colmbs and
Lou postage here as Zane Trace has defeated hunting in
sixty one to the forty and if you look back
through at the first quarters, Aine Trace jumped out early
and often they let it twenty four to twelve at
the first stop, extended that to forty one to eighteen
at the half. As Lou said, it was a more
(01:33:44):
competitive second half in terms of hunting than being able
to guard and do some things. Obviously, Zane Trace looking
to run the offense a little bit more and do
some different things with a little slower tempo Nonetheless, Zane
Trace up fifty two to twenty eight at the end
of three and they go on and win. It's sixty
one forty lose.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
You take a look at your numbers there, tell us
what jumps out at you. Well, the shooting in the
second half for Zane Trace came down a little bit,
but again that start that they had eight of eleven
from the three point line in the first half, that
was amazing start for them and that propelled them in
this game. Overall, Zane trades was twenty three or forty
eight to forty eight percent. They ended up twelve of
(01:34:23):
nineteen from three point line, sixty three percent, three of
eight from the free throw line, and they ended up
with fifteen turnovers, and most of those turnovers came in
the second half. They only had five at half time.
So again I think it was the pressure from Huntington
defensively that made it a little bit harder to run
our offense and forced more turnovers by Zane Trace in
(01:34:43):
the second half. You look at Huntington numbers shooting wise,
seventeen of thirty five forty nine percent. Not bad. Second half.
They did a much better job of having those opportunities
to score four of ten from beyond the arc and
two five from the free throw line. They ended up
with twenty two turnovers on the night. Again a lot
(01:35:05):
of turnovers, but again a much better second half. I
thought for Huntington, well, you know, I.
Speaker 3 (01:35:10):
Look at it from the sane trace perspective. We talked
about Lynn and Jerald's return. If you weren't with us,
Lynn and Jerald average sixteen a game last year, first
team All SVC Onibile mentioned Ohio, and he returns to
already very very talented starting five. And now I want
to highlight Roman Bear. I thought he did an awesome
job the first ten games of the year, playing increased
(01:35:32):
minutes off the bench for coach Cassidy. Now with the
return of Jerald, obviously that's going to cut into their
minutes a little bit as he starts to digby towards
those top six. Just your take on how he kind
of returned as expected, a little a little slow, started,
a little nervous there, I thought, in the second half,
already showing better rhythm.
Speaker 4 (01:35:50):
Yeah, much better rhythm. And again his quickness is still there,
his ability can get to the basket is still there.
Now it's just sort of you know, knocking off the
rust and getting everything going. He ended up with eight points.
And you know the amazing thing when you look at
those five starters and him, Uh, you know, you had
twelve points each by mccull and Robinson, You had eleven
(01:36:14):
points by Stuart, you had ten points by Houston, you
had eight points by Rippeth and eight points from Jarrold.
You get sixty one points out of that team. They're
gonna win an awful lot of ball games.
Speaker 7 (01:36:24):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:36:24):
And they showed tonight just how complete they are as
a team and how you know, you know, it doesn't
matter who's shooting, it doesn't matter who's scoring. Uh, this
is just a very good ball club.
Speaker 3 (01:36:37):
Well, I like the way you said that, because, again
we talked about in the pregame, they're gonna give up
thirty nine a game on the defensive end. So when
a team like I started shooting at that level, obviously
that's going to be a long night for their opponent,
which tonight was a young Huntington basketball team, and it's
Zane Trace wins at sixty one to forty. So Shane
Colms lou Posts will step away one more time. If
we can get some coaches here we'll talk to them.
(01:36:59):
If not, make sure each check out our accurate heating,
cooling and plumbing scoreboard show where I'll head back to

you can hear all the coaches later this evening. We've

Here Shan Colmes, Lou Hostage and Zay Trace defeats hunting
(01:40:14):
from sixty one to forty and you know, go all
the way back to the to our pregame coverage and
we were talking about the league and about being ready
to play we highlighted again at halftime, just so many
examples of how you have to be ready to go.
We just get word. Adena beats Westfall forty nine forty
one Southeastern at Paint Valley in a really tight game.
(01:40:34):
I think Southeast about five with a minute to play.
Speaker 4 (01:40:36):
There's still anybody's game.
Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
No word on the pipe in Uniota yet, But again
the message loud and clear heading into twenty twenty five
each and every night, you just gotta be ready to go.
Speaker 4 (01:40:45):
Yeah, that's the first win of the year for the
Adena Warriors, and again a tough place to go up
there and play at Westfall. Uh, and they come away
with a win, and that brings up an interesting game
on Tuesday night the w KKJ gay be Westfall at
Zane Trace. So, uh, you'd be anxious to see how
west Fall comes out after this loss to Adena.
Speaker 7 (01:41:09):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
I'm sure they're gonna be ready to go come Tuesday,
and they're gonna want that's pretty much a must win
game for them, uh to sort of stay in the
race there with Saint Tracey.
Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
And Uniota now being one game behind. But uh, yeah,
that was a great job there by the Adena Warriors,
and uh, you know, I know I went over the
scoring for Jane Trace, I'll quickly go over to the
scoring for Huntington. Uh. They were led tonight by Frankie Hirst.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
He had nine, h Eli Airy he had eight, Kelvin
Manson also with eight, and uh, I'm sorry that was
Gay Beardsley with a so Manson and Beardsley with eight,
Airy with three, rock Morton with three, Uh, five for
hennen or Hennenberger, two for Elliott and also too for Parker.
(01:41:57):
So again they had what eight guys the scoring column
for Huntington here tonight. Again a good job, much better
second half, as I said, for Huntington, and you know
they get a chance come back tomorrow and get to
play a non league game here against Alexander so well,
and we talked about that in the pregame too. I
think unofficially, what seven guys was my belief that Huntington's
(01:42:18):
had scored double figures in a game this year. And
you're you're talking about that there in your totals. Where
a lot of different guys scoring the basketball here, Huntington
now dropping to one and nine overall, one and six
in the league, going to start back over in league play,
but not before. As Lou said, they play Alexander here
tomorrow night, and then when league play starts back up
next week, they go Dina and Southeastern Tuesday Friday here
(01:42:42):
at home. On the saying Trace side, they improved the
nine and two, six and one at least Hyde. We'll see,
wait and listen for what Uniota did at Pike. Then
atop the SVC, they'll take the rest of the weekend off,
but ten an SVC play, they obviously have the big
game as Lou highlighted, with West Fall Tuesday. Then they're
on the road to Python next Friday. Then what should
(01:43:04):
always has been a good non league series with Bitton County.
They'll welcome the Vikings there on Saturday night. So busy
stretch of basketball for Zane Trace. So looking around the gym,
I don't think we're going to get the coaches up
here for the post game. Not a problem at all.
That's why we do the acurate heating, cooling and plumbing
scoreboard show. We're all head into the station and joined
Vanessa George and Sidney Newsom. We'll hope to hear from
(01:43:26):
the coach Cassidy and coach Eurick a little bit later on.
So On that note, Lou, always a lot of fun
to do basketball with you. Stay safe and I know
you and Jacob will be back on the air for
Zane Trace West Fall Tuesday night. I'll be back over
at Chillicafee on the WVXIE with Greg Bigham as they
welcome Western Brown, a really good chili cooffee team. I'm
(01:43:47):
excited to follow them as well. So thank you, Sidney
Newsom back in station. Thank you, Lou. Postage final score
for the final time, Zane Trace wins at sixty one
forty solong.
Speaker 1 (01:43:59):
