Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is high school basketball on ninety four Country w KKJ. Now,
let's head the game site for today's pregame show on
ninety four Country.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hello, and welcome to Paint Valley High School, home Tonight's
Hernsteignhundai SVC Game of the Week here on ninety four
Country WKKJ. Our host team, Paint Valley comes in with
a record of six and six, five and four in
the SVC, and Zane Trace, the road team here at
Paint Valley High School, comes in with a record of

(00:35):
twelve and two, nine and one. I'm Chris Postage, joined
alongside tonight by my father, coach Lou Postage.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Coach. Good to have you. It's always great to be
in the gym this time of year, and we got
exciting basketball going on. Both these teams are basically coming
in here on some streaks. Paint Valley's on a two
game win streak and they've had a lot of close
games even with the ones they've lost here of recent
and for Zane, they were coming into this game on
a five game win streak, and again this is a

(01:05):
big week and a half for them, as they got
this game tonight and a couple of league games with
a big one next Friday against Yunioto. So again, this
is a great time of year to be inside watching
basketball and two really good teams. Frigid temperatures this week.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
These team, both schools had a couple of days off
with the zero negative degrees outside. We'll see how that
affected their practice schedule and things going forward.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
And again this is that time of year where you
got snow, you got cold, you got you know, start stops,
you got to deal with injuries, you got to deal
with sickness. I know Zane Trace is going through a
little sickness as well. So again as a basketball coach,
you learn to live with it, you learn to adjust
with it, and you just go and and talking to

(01:53):
both coaches, it seems like both teams are ready to
go here tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
So for Paint Valley, Carson Free averaging eighteen point three
points a game, second in the SVC, ten point five
rebounder game, first in the SBC, seems like a lot
of their offense goes through him.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
It does, and he's probably one of the best athletes,
if not the best athlete in our league. He can
really jump out of the gym and he's the catalyst
for this team, he along with you a getting healthier
Braylan Robertson, and also you look at Jace Reinhart. Those
are the three primary scorers for Payne Valley, and you

(02:30):
look at this team. If you can get a couple
of those scorers into the twenty point range, they're a
tough team to beat. You get Carson Free, you get
Braylan or Jason that twenty point range as well, they
are going to be a really tough team to beat,
and they will play hard and they will play a
great defense as well.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
And for Zane Trace, like you said, coming in on
a five game winning street averaging fifty six points a game,
I'm only giving up thirty eight. It seems like it
through a full cast we talked about they go about
seven deep, but with names that stick out to me
or mccauus, Stewart, Robertson.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
And again it's one of those things where they are capable.
They got about five or six guys that are capable
of going double figures any night. But the two guys
I like to focus on for the Zane Trace team,
and really you could throw a third in there is Landon,
Robertson or Robinson. He does so much for this team.

(03:28):
He is a calming factor for this team. He can rebounds,
I think he's a league leader and assists right now,
and he can also score when needed, and he plays
great defense. You also look at Gunner McCullough again, probably
one of the better athletes in this league. Gunner McCullough.
He can really score at any moment, and he seems

(03:49):
like he's always in the right place at the right
time for the Zane Trace team. And the third guy
I like to throw in there, only playing his fifth
game so far this year, is Landon Gerald. He brings
so much this team, so much speed, quickness. He can
get to the hole quickly and that opens up a
lot of things for other people. You've really seen in
the four games that he's played, this offense really sort

(04:11):
of explode because of his presence. And you know this
time of the year, when you get a guy like
that coming into your lineup, that's a big boost.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I like to look at the roster and see Landon
Robertson listed as a forward, a point.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Guard, and a shooting guard. Yes, he can do it
all for this team. So we talk about Zane Trace.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Only one loss in the SBC that lost coming to
You and Yoda that game lined up next week, but
they got a couple games ahead, trying to keep their
focus on this one tonight.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
And again you got to get you know, you're on
the road here. Payton Valley is a dangerous team, as
we talked about, with three capable scores, So you got
to get this one and before you look ahead. But
next week for them they got west Fall, who's sitting
second in the league, as well as then that big
matchup with U Nioto. But again, this game comes first,
and you've got to be ready to go.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Last time these two teams met, it was back on
December seventeenth, and Zane Trace came out victorious seventy six.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
To forty two. And again that was one of those
things I think back somewhat earlier in the year. Again,
I see a much closer outcome in this game, just
because where these two teams are, and again the Saint
Trace team, they've got to come out and really take
control of the game. If they allow Paint Valley in

(05:32):
the game longer than what they want, it's going to
be a tight game all the way to the end.
If you're Jane Trace, you want to put them away early.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
When you look at the RPI rankings that have recently
been updated, Paint Valley sitting at ninth in Division six
of the Southeast District and Jane Trace fifth respectively. A
lot of numbers there when you look at it. Anything
you got to say about that.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I mean, it's one of those things that now is
is the way that they are going to do seting
in the tournament. The tournament draw, even though it really
not a draw, it's just sort of when they are
gonna play them on the bracket. It's February ninth, so
not all the games in the UH season count for that,
but it's very important to sort of check that out

(06:20):
and see where you are because we were looking at
some things and you know, some of these teams, I
think they you know, it's almost and you hate to
say this, better to lose some games to get a
better spot on that bracket. But again, it's something that's
going to be to play a factor here, especially in
the next couple of weeks, and it's something that people
really got to start looking at. We've lived with it

(06:40):
with football, you can see that all the time, but
now basketball wise, we got to look at it that
way as well.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
So not quite the same computer scoring that they use
for football, but similar Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
And again my only thing is, why aren't you counting
all the games? If it's going to be a computer
based thing. Uh, they do that in football, Well why
can't you do it in basketball? A lot of people
talk about you got to be able to scout and
so on and so forth, But today's technology and things
like that, you can get all that done no problem whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Full slate of SBC Action tonight Southeastern at Dina at

be starting at UH Landon Gerald's are a six or
five to eight senior at one of the guards, Grady Stewart,

(10:13):
a six ' four junior at the other guard. Also
at a guard, Noah Houston, a six to three senior. Again,
mister everything, Landon Robinson, he's a senior of six '
two and then inside six ' two junior Gunner McCullough.
And that's for Zane Trace. That's Gerald, Stuart Houston, Robinson,

(10:36):
and McCullough. For the home Paint Valley Bearcats in their
white uniforms with yellow and yellow lettering, we are going
to see number two Jace Reinhard, he's a six to
one junior, Carson Free a six ' four senior, Braylan
Robertson a five to ten senior, Jackson Emmel a six

(10:59):
foot and number fifty Colton Yoakum inside a six' one senior.
So again for Payt Valley, that is Reinhart, Free, Robertson,
Emil and Yoakum. Right before the game, they had a
Hall of Fame presentation where Brooke Hammond, a nineteen ninety

(11:23):
eight graduate of Paint Valley High School, was inducted into
their Hall of Fame. Brooke played basketball softball and golf
well here at Paint Valley. I believe she made her

Presenting a gain Flames love story. Dear love of my life,

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Back here Paint Valley High School, they are now introducing
the starters and we are just moments away from SBC
Game Action. Coach Zane Trace scores a lot of points.
They don't give up many what's the keys for Paint
Valley to flip the script tonight.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Well, they're going to have to handle the defense. And
that's the thing about Zane Trace. Their defense can really
get after you in many different ways. In one of
the ways, they can really defend the entire court. They
have players that are tall, lanky type players and they
have a lot of range. You have the quickness in
Landon Gerald who can really guard and get after the

(14:09):
ball handler. And then the other guys, all of the
other four Stuart and Houston and McCullough and Robinson, they
can really extend the floor and they can really get
a lot of hands on passes and get a lot
of tips and get a lot of steals. So Paint
Valley's got to be able to handle that first and foremost,

(14:30):
and then they have to have quality possessions on the
offensive end.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
We look at the coaches to night Lakeen Lockery for
Paint Valley. He's been here a couple of years, first
year head coach for Zane Trade. Well, first time at
Zane Trace for Tyler Cassidy after taking over for the
great Gary Coe.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah, and again Tyler's done a really good job there
at Zane Trace. It seems like these kids that really
bought in to what he's instilling. Now, again, it's not
a mat change from what coach Kela had at Zane Trace,
but again it's one of those things. It seems like
they're playing with our for each other and playing well

(15:09):
as a team.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Final starters getting announced and we are just moments away
from getting this game underway. We've got the King Valley
of Bearcats in their home white uniforms, black letters, gold trim,
Sane Trace and the road Blues with the red numbers
and white trimp.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I'll tell you when we talk about some of these
players doing it all for their team, Braylen Robertson was
picking up some of the stuff that was still on
the floor from the cheerleaders before we get this game going.
So again, well aware what's going on. You know, a
coach's son, so he knows how things are. He's seen
a lot of basketball and it's just good to see
him back on and floor. I know he had a

(15:51):
tough injury there at the end of the football season
and seems like he's ready to go here pre.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
In Houston, tip it Up wrote one there by Houston
Zane Trace controls. That is Stewart to Robertson on the
wing to Gerald down low. That's McCallum, mccaulla spinning, shot
blocked there my number fifty, That is Coulton Yoakum. It's
Raylan Robertson across the timeline, gets it on the wing

(16:17):
to free free picked up by McCallum, gets it up
top to Rhinehart Reinhart over to Robertson, who.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Hits a three from the wing.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Raylan Robertson, Yeah, that's a good start for payt Valley
to see that ball go through the hoop earley or
enough in paint Valley lead Robinson up tops for those
ain't Trey's pioneers, gets it into the corner for that
was Houston. Houston's three was no good, Sorry, Stuart Stewart
shot was no good. Robertson the other way for paint Valley,

(16:50):
picked up by Robinson, spinning looking for free back too,
we're playing not there, gets it down low to Yoakum
yoak him back out to Robertson. Robertson tries another three.
One's off rebound, tipped and it looks like it's gonna
go out of bounds. Off Paint Valley. It'll be Pioneer basketball.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Yeah, Paint Valley's done a good job here of defending
Zane Trace offense here, making it very difficult for get
Zane Trace to get anything going here.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Jerald brings it up for the Pioneers, gets it to
Stewart on the wing, up top to Robinson, back to Jerrold.
Jerrold looking to drive, hoped and stolen away there by
Wine Heart of Paint Valleys. Winehart the other way on
the wing, looking download for Yoakum Yoakum, spinning shot up
and good off the glass hold Yoga.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Really good job there, using his body and going right
into the offensive guy, not allowing him to go up
with him.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Good start for the Bearcats. Five nothing, six seventeen left
to go in the first quarter. Jerrold driving kicks it out.
That's right, That is Stewart in the corner, all tipped
and controlled by the Paint Valley bear Cat another steal
free on the wing, gets it up to Robertson. Robertson's
gonna set up the Bearcat offense. Five nothing leads six

(18:08):
minutes left to go in the first quarters. Ryan Hart
in the corner up top to Robertson. Robertson looking to drive,
gets it down to Yokum. Yokum shot up off the glass,
no good, rebound, free free up and in and one,
and that is the leading rebound getter in the sv C.
Carson Free putting the second chance bucket up and good

(18:29):
and going to the line.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah, that's making the most of your opportunity. Is the
second chance opportunity for Payton Valley. He's making the most
of it. Gets a three point opportunity.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Now seven nothing, the Bearcats lead five forty five lifts
to go in the first quarter. Fore at the line,
looking to complete the old fashion three point play, and
it's up in good eight nothing.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Paint Valley leads. Payt Valley's taking it to Zane Trace
right now, Zane Trace needs a good quality offensive possession.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
That's jerrold on the wing for Zane True race up
top looking for Stuart Stewart or to Robert Robin Robinson.
Robinson's gonna try a three D that's no good and
rebound controlled by Yoka the other way go the Bearcats.
Robertson hands it, hands it off to Ryan Hart and

(19:22):
that's a ten second violation. Saw As Robertson was bringing
it up, he kind of stopped and then handed it
off to Ryan Hart. And Ryan Hart didn't really get across.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
The time behind name enough. Yeah. I don't know if
he thought he was already across the timeline or what,
but he did take his time once it got handed
off to him. And the referee was right there counting.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Jerrold driving hit shot up and good and one for
land in Gerald quick play off the inbound Gerald just
takes it right to the hoop.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Yeah, that's what they needed there. They needed a senior
drive and he was able to get it all the
way to that's the quickness that he has. That's that
first step, gets around the defender, gets it all the
way to the bucket. Three point opportunity.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Now, three point opportunity is good, makes it eight three
paint Valley leads. Now a little token full court pressure here,
half court s crap I guess Robertsonton and Ryan Hart
and the back court that's tip and stolen away by Jerald.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Stewart. The other way that's up and good. Yeah. Eight
five paint Valley leads good ball fake there to then
take it up strong.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Robertson over to Ryinhart, gets it across the timeline to Robertson.
Roberson setting up the offense, gets it inside the free
here he puts it on the floor, gets it up
and good Carson free quick decision to get right to
the rim. Yeah, he gets it.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
In the middle of the lane. There, you're in trouble
because he can really explode to the buckets.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Ten five Bearcats lead four twenty left to go here
in the first quarter, Gerald over to start. Stewart's gonna
try a three. That's good, Grady Stewart, He's not a
guy you want to leave wide open.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
There. He leads the league in three point baskets. I
think that's now twenty six on the year.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Stolen away by Paynt Alley. Robinson the other way gets
it to Houston. Houston's three. That's no good. Rebound to
Jerrel Jeryl back to Houston trying another three, same spot.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
That one's good. That's the thing about Zane Trace. If
they miss one, they don't get shy. They continue to shoot.
They are confident shooters. And again, now we've got this
lead for Zane Trace breaking the press and getting it
down low.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
That's number thirteen. Jackson in mail for two and the
lead goes back to the Bearcats. Twenty sorry, twelve to
eleven three, twenty left to go here in the first quarter,
Jeryl erverand Stewart Stuart over to Houston. Download McCall and mccaulla,
spinning shot up and good off the glass.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Seems like his body is always under control inside. He
did a good job there getting around Yoakum to get
to that bucket.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Thirteen twelve Pioneers Prrecat's getting across the timeline right. Ryan
Hart's gonna try three and that's good. Jase ran Hart
makes it fifteen thirteen Paint Valley.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
I'll tell you what a lot of points here in
the first quarter by both teams.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Two fifty left to go in the first quarter. As
Gerald projects to mccallis, screen, gets it into the paint,
kicks it out. Stuart Stewart's gonna try a fifteen foot
of it.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Rebound goes a free free bringing it up across the timeline.
Gets a two mL download to Yoakam. That pass was
stolen away there by Stuart al Robinson. Robinson download looking
for mccaulas stowing away by Yoakum. Almost identical plays back
to back on both sides of the court.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Yeah, good read there by Yoakam and he knew that
pass was coming, was able to get there before it
got to the uh to McCullough, Ryan.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Hard across the timeline they left to go in the
first quarter fifteen thirteen, Bearcats leave free up top coming
off a Yoapen screen, looking to drive, gets it down
to the lane and that is no good. But he's
going to be fouled. Some Parson free the line.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
For two U.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Fifteen thirteen. The Bearcats leave lead in the first quarter
of two to six left to go. Vow was on
Noah Houston. That's his first team second first one is
up in good for free.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
That's again offensively pay Valley. This is a start they needed.
That's a start they wanted. And again, if they can
handle the pressure of zaying Trace, they're going to be
able to score.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Substitutions Griffe and Hank Hanks in for the barrack for
the Panthers. Sorry, two for two at the line is
three makes it seventeen thirteen, just under two minutes left
to play in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
It's like we've got a little zone here.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Five Payton Valley Jerald three from the top of the key.
That's no good rebound tip and we're going to get
a foul offensive foul over the back of It's going
to be on number fifteen, Landed Robinson. That's his first
and we're gonna have a timeout on the floor, so
we'll take a quick quick break. You're listening to the herdsign.

(24:32):

Back here at Paint Valley High School.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Out of the time out, it'll be Barcat basketball with
a seventeen thirteen lead or a minute fifty left to
go in the first quarter. That last foul was on Robertson.
That was his second team's third and now we're gonna
have a foul on Paint Valley.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
That's going to be on looks like a Braylan Rightlan Robertson.
That's a tough name to go back to back with
Robinson and Robertson.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
So it'll be Pioneer basketball. After the foul that was
Robinson's first team second Garrow off top for the Pioneers
gets it to Stewart. He's trapped in that's tipped and
controlled out of bounds. There by Paint valty by Zane Trace,
and we'll have a turnover. Give it to the Bearcats.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
That's both teams now with five turnovers here in the
first quarter. I'm characteristic of Zaye Trace. I haven't seen
Paint Valley enough to see how that plays out, but again,
they're a team that cannot afford to have very many
turnovers in a game.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Robertson with the ball, gets it to Free up top
under ninety seconds left to play in the first quarter.
Free hands it to Robertson, screens for Robertson looking to drive,
gets it downloaded, Free Free kicks it out. Controlled there
by Emil Jackson mL over to Free Free on the wing,

(27:07):
looking to dry, gets into the paint, picks up his
dribble and gets it out to Robertson a minute nine
left to play in the first quarter. Paint Valley holding
a seventeen thirteen lead. Robertson looking for Free on the
back door play that's no good and Robertson gonna try
nineteen quarter that's no good. Rebound controlled there by Stuart

(27:29):
Jerald the other way, looking for Hanks, gets it over
to Stuart Stewart on the wing. That's good looking shot.
There my Grady Stewart.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Ye have tried to get the end one there but
doesn't and it cuts it lead to one.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Reinhart, with the ball for the Bearcats, gets it over
to mL back to Robertson. Robertson the jexsas screen thereby Yoakum.
Twenty seconds left to play. Reinhart, looking to drive, picks
it up, has a past tipped hand stolen there by Stewart.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
That's what Zane Trace does. They can get a lot
of tips because of their length.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Jerrold across the timeline. Ten seconds left to play in
the first quarter. Jerrold, looking to drive, picked up there
by Reinhart, gets it down to McCallum and call a
spin up in the lane.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
That's good, what a move.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
So at the end of the first quarter it is
Payne Valley seventeen, Zane Trace eighteen. You're listening to the
Hernstein Hunt a SBC Game of the Week here on

Speaker 7 (28:34):

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Back here at Paint Valley High School, where's an eighteen
seventeen lead for the Pioneers. After a back back, back
and forth first quarter, We'll go to coach look at
some stats there from the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Yeah, for paint Valley. They were six and nine shooting
very good sixty seven percent, two of three from beyond
the arc, perfect from the free throw line for three
for three. But they have to get more shots than
nine shots, too many turnovers. Six for Zane Trace, seven
of twelve, three of seven from beyond the arc and
perfect free throw line one for one.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
We paint Valley's ball to start to the second quarter.
Down low is yokum yoakum shot up, no good rebound,
Carson free, second chance shot up and good Carson free.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Yeah, that's when he gets those second chance opportunities inside.
He's hard to stop. You had one of those in
the first quarter, three point plays. Get a chance to
do another one fowl. I was on Grady Stewart. That's
his first teams first of the quarter. Carson free at
the line and it's good.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
They get twenty eighteen Bearcats lead.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
And again coming back in the game is Robinson for
Zane Trace. Remember he had two fouls there in the
first quarter, but I think he's needed in there for
some rebounding.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Jerrold up top for the Pioneers, gets it to Stewart
on the wing. Stewart picks up his drivel gets it
to Robertson in the corner, Robertson back to Stewart, Stewart
up top to Hanks, ardor Robinson back to Hanks up top.
There By email Jerald Jerrold looking to drive baseline, gets
a download a McCallum mccalla's flows I hoping good Am won.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Again give credit there landing Jerrold. His drive gets around
his man first step and was able to draw the defender.
Dishes it off to McCullough. He makes it three point
play opportunity. Val was on Yoakam. That's his first team's
first of the quarter. Tied up at twenty with seven

(31:45):
fourteen left to go in the second quarter, Governor McCall
at the line for one and that is no good
rebound there by Jace Reinhart again we see a much
smaller Bearcat line up on the floor there with Yoakum
out of the game. I think they brought in Landon Elliott.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Robertson up top, picked up by Hanks, gets it over
to free free back to Robertson. Robertson side the fifteen
Twitter that's no good rebound goes to Stewart, Stuart up
to Jerald.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Jerald on the.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Wing, download a mccallaugh McCollough spinning in the lane, kicks
it out to Stuart.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Stuart loses it. We're right there. It's Hanks.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Hanks picks it up, gets it downloaded, McCollough McCalla out
to Stuart. Stuart dries fifteen twitter that's good, good looking
shot there by Grady Stewart.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Yeah, he's really smooth. Now that is ten on the
night for Grady Stewart. And again Free has to guard Stuart,
so that means Robertson has to go inside and guardon. McCullough.
Very tough for Payton Valley defensively right now, Ryan Hart
with a fifteen footer for paint Valley.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
That's no good. Rebound goes to Gerald. Jerald up two Hanks.
That's stolen away there by Robertson. Robertson the other way,
This is it down for Free and that's.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Stolen away by Stewart. Call it the other way. McCollough
over to Hanks. It his shot up and good.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
That's Rippeth Sorry, that is Ezra a RiPP it paint
Valley ball gets it over to Rhinehart. Reinhart into the lane,
off the free free looking to drive, picks it up
and gets it the Robertson. Robinson's gonna call out the

(33:25):
Paint Valley offense. Twenty four to twenty Pioneers leading five
point thirty left to go in the second quarter. Reinehart's
gonna try three from the wing. That's no good and
that'll go out of bounds. It'll be Sane Trace basketball.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Yeah, this is a very uh tough point of the
game here for Paint Valley right now. With the lineup
they have out there to try to guard Zane Trace,
they gotta be aware. They don't want Zane Trace to
get in on a run here. And if you're Zane Trace,
this is where you want to take advantage of their lineup.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
We'll call it a rippe. Their piss up top over
to Robinson to Jerald Jerrold looking to drive baseline. It's
all the way around, trying to rehearse layup. I'll be
good if shot there my land in. Jerrold makes twenty
six to.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Twenty quickness knowing where you are on the floor and
being able to make a bucket payt Valley gets across
the free he loses it. Robinson goes the other way
up to Stuart Stewart downloaded McCollough up for two makes
it twenty eight twenty and we're gonna have a time out.
Payt Valley. Yeah, you gotta get a time out here.
You don't want a big run to happen, so we'll

(34:29):
take a break.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
You're listening to the Herdstein Hundai SPC game week here
on ninety four Country wkk J.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
Our daughter Jesse loves playing detective a clue.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
But since we discovered she has sensitive skin, we've been
playing detective too.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
We thought the problem was our puppy, but it.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
Was actually our old detergent uh huh, So we switched
to tide free and gentle. Tide Free and Gentle provides
an excellent tide clean and it doesn't leave behind irritating
residues like dies or perfumes, So it's on.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Your skin, case closed.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
If it's got to be clean, it's got to be
tied free and gentle.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Back there, PAYT Valley High School, twenty eight to twenty.
The Pioneers lead here in the second quarter an eight
oh run for the h Zaint Trace Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
You have much needed time out there by Coach Lockery
and Payne Valley got to get his kids calm down here.
You do not want a Zane Trace run. And again,
if you're Zane Trace, you want to keep this pressure
on defensively and you want to keep attacking offensively.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Out of the time out, it would be paint Valley
basketball and bound to Robertson picked up full court. There
By Rippets gets it across the timeline. Robertson setting up
the Bearcat offense, gets it over Ryan Hart Reinhart on
the wing down low looking for Robertson.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Download to.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Emil m mail driving shot. That's good, nice flip shot
there by Jackson m l that's four on the night
for him. Cheryl looking back to her and that's gonna
go out of bounds, but it'll stay here with the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah, good look back door. But great job there by
number thirteen Jackson Emmel of getting his head turned around
and knocking the ball away.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Substitution. Mcallar re enters for Rippeth. These ain't trace ball
under the bucket, get it into McCallum, mccaller, over to Stewart,
over to Jerald Jarrold's gonna try a three from the wing.
That's no good rebound. Tipped and controlled there by McCall
call up, no good rebound Stewart. Stuart shot up and

(36:48):
good and a powl. Couple fortuitous bounces there by the
d ain't trace Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Yeah, and again a great job there by Landon Robertson.
That was a long rebound. He tipped it back in.
George McCullough, who was the man on the spot, didn't
get his shot in, but Stuart got a third opportunity
at it and was able to get it.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Fal was on Jackson email there his first team second
of the quarter or thirteen. Let's play in the second quarter.
Stewart converts the three point play makes it thirty one,
twenty two. Pioneer lead. Rippeth back in the game, picking
up Robinson full court. Robertson gets it across the timeline,
looking over for Ryan Hart. Robertson on the wing, coming

(37:33):
off the screen, gets it over to Elliott. Elliott's gonna
try three. That's no good rebound.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
The Stewart they didn't trace the other way up the
RiPP it gripp It's gonna try a fifteen quarter. That's
good as we're RiPP it. Tell you what when this
team gets hot shooting, Zaine Crais can put up a
lot of points on the board. Now they got eleven
point lead.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Thirty three to twenty two. Ball tipped and controlled there
by the Pioneers. As the Rippers strives the three, that's
no good. Now the ball is controlled there by Gerald
and he's gonna be fouled. Looks like it's gonna be
on free And.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Again it's one of those things where now this is
three turnovers in the quarter for Paynt Valley. They have
got to take care of the basketball, make the most
of their offensive opportunities. And right now it's Zane Trace
that isn't the making making the most of theirs.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Because Carson Freeze first Bowl team's third from Jarrod on
the wings of the Pioneers, looking download for McCallum. Mccaulla
gets it back out to Jerrold. Jerrold coming off on
mcallar screen, gonna try a three from the corner.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
Rebound controlled there by Robertson, a painting owl. Quickly the
other way are the Bearcats on the wing. Robertson looking
to drive, gets in the lane, spinning, float shot up
and no good to be down controlled by mccallaugh. And
then on the fast break, it looks like we had
a foul. I believe it's gonna be on creek.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
It is, and I think for he got hitting a
nose there with I don't know if there's a ball
or Grady Stewart's shoulder, but that's gonna be two fouls
on him. And again Grady Stewart on the defensive end
there with Robertson shot really forced Robertson to shoot it
up higher than he wanted and.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Down to Stewart his three. That's Grady Stewart another three pointer.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
I've got him right now for sixteen points here in
the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Thirty six twenty two Pioneers lead two thirty left to
go in the first quarter. Robertson with the ball for
the Bearcats coming off a screen, loses it out of mound,
but he's gonna be fouled there by Houston.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
It looks like, yeah, this game was twenty to twenty
and it's been sixteen to two since that.

Speaker 12 (39:48):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
And again it's been a quite a run here offensively
for Zane Trace. Judah Hanks coming into the game for
Houston for Zen.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Trace, the sideline kind of bounds for the Bearcats thirty
six twenty two, two thirty four left to go in
the second quarter. That was Houston's second foul. He picked
up team second of the quarter heading bound this to Robertson.
Robertson picked up by Rippeth, gets it over to Ryan Hart.
Ryan Hart down low for Yoakum Yoakum spinning in the lane.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Float shot up. That's no good rebound controlled thereby Stuart Again,
I think it's just right now. You can see a
little bit more depth on Zane trace. You see a
tired paint valley team here towards the end of the
first half. Kla over to Jerald Jerrold's gonna try a
three from the top of the key. That's no good
rebound there by Free are you're bringing it up the

(40:44):
blot side picked up by mccallaugh, looking baseline, gets all
the way down under the basket and kicks it out
to Yoakum yoke them over to Robinson. Robinson's gonna try
a step in three. That's no good rebound.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Carson free free down low, had it stripped away by
McCalla Budd's found are they gonna call him on the shot.
Yes they are send Carson Free to the line for two.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
It's one of those NBA things there. But again, great
job of offensive rebound by Carson Free. Seems like he
knows where the SHOT's going as it leaves the shooter's
hand and he's got that advantage.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Foul was on Gunna mccallough. That is his first team's fourth, sorry,
team's third of the quarter. First one. No good there for.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
Free for he has ten points on the night. He
was perfect get the free throw line before that shot.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
And his second one went in. But we're gonna have
it called off on a lane violation there by the Bearcats.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
Yeah, they're gonna say that Jace Reinhard went into the
lane too early, so no shot there.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
It remains thirty six twenty two Pioneer lead with a
minute forty left to go in the second quarter. Jarrow
up top calling out the Pioneer offense. Hanks on the wing,
gets it over to Rippeth, back to Hanks, Hanks driving
kicks it out to Gerald. Had a zone defense here

(42:12):
for the bear Caps.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
I think the Bearcats just trying to keep some guys
out of foul trouble when they're having a hard time guarding.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Now they're going to go back to man here will
stall offense here for the Pioneers. Minute nine left to
play in a second quarter. That's rippeth over to Jerald.
Jerald's gonna try three from the wing that drawls back
iron no good rebound tipped and controlled there by Carson free.
Under a minute left to play in the first half,
quickly up to Ryan Hart, Ryan float shot in lane,

(42:43):
no good controlled there by mccallaugh of Zane Trace.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
They worried about the defense there too much. Instead of
just taking it up strolling to the bucket, Stewart over
to Jerald.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Jerald driving baseline, gets by his man, kicks it over
to mccallough and he's gonna be fouls in.

Speaker 3 (42:59):
McCalla go the line for two. That was a great
job of moving without the ball there by McCullough finding
the open area in the middle of the lane. And
again that's just one of those same guys playing together
with each other for a long time, understanding where they're
going to be, and a good pass there by Gerald.
Mcalla's going to get two shots here at it thirty

(43:21):
seven seconds left to play.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Mccalla's first shot up no good remains thirty six twenty
two Pioneer lead.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
Kaula has eight points here on the ninth.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Roman Roman Barry change checks in for the Pioneers and
mail back in for the bear Cats. Second shot up
and good for Lacale thirty five second foot to play.
I want to foul on Barry.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
It looks like that's a fourth team foul here, so
no shots on that one. Either team commits a foul here,
they're gonna go to the free throw line.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
Thirty two point eight. Let's play in the first half
thirty seven to twenty two Pioneers lead. Robertson up top
for the Americats gets it over to mL up top
to Yoakum, back to Robertson. Robertson picked up by Rippeff
gets a cross court over to Elliot Elliott. Elliott shot

(44:27):
was no good.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Quickly back the other way. Zine Trace Gerald with it
off top of five seconds ago. He drived down the
middle of the lane to shot no good. That's where
we're gonna end the first half. First half score it
is Zane Trace thirty seven, Payt Valley twenty two. We'll
be back in with our halftime stats. You're listening to

Apply halftime here at Paint Valley High School. It is
Zane Trace thirty seven Paint Valley twenty two. Go over
to coach and look at some stass there for the
first half.

Speaker 3 (49:09):
Well, first of all, I want to make sure you're okay.
I was afraid I was gonna have to do this
whole second half by myself. But we got Chris some water.
We're ready to go. Now, little scratch in the throat,
but we'll be all right. So again, looking at the
numbers Paint Valley in the first half, they were eight
of twenty one, shooting thirty eight percent. Now you look
at that they were only two of twelve in that

(49:30):
second quarter. That really brought him down their shooting percentage.
And again they only scored five points in that second quarter.
Big big job defensively bear by Zane Trace. Two of
six from beyond the arc for Paint Valley and four
or five from the free throw line. Paint Valley had
ten turnovers there in the first half, and you've got
to do a better job of taking care of the

(49:51):
ball against the Zane Trace team. Zane Trace, on the
other hand, look at their numbers. They were fifteen of
twenty six, shooting fifty eight percent. Now here's the thing
about their shooting in the first half, and Chris and
I were talking about this off the air. They were
fifteen of twenty six overall, they were eleven of thirteen
inside the three point line. That's eighty five percent. You're

(50:12):
gonna win a lot of ballgames you shoot that well.
They were only four of thirteen from beyond the arc, however,
so shooting wise, good overall shooting, but again they're three
point shooting tonight here not so good. But again Grady Stewart,
he has two of them, and again the SVC leader
in three point shots, adds two to his total here

(50:32):
so far. Tonight they were three of five from the
free throw line, and they only had six turnovers. One
turnover there for them in that second quarter, so again
a big turner. It was twenty to twenty as we
talked about there early in the second quarter. From that
point it was a seventeen to two run for Zane Trace.
And they're a team that can put on big runs.

(50:54):
They can put on quick offensive numbers and if your
paint valley, as we're getting ready to start here in
the second half, they have to be very aware of
what's going on. They cannot afford to let Zane Trace
come out and go on another big run where this
game could get out of hand. Payt Valley's has got
to control the tempo here. The first four minutes of

(51:16):
this second half.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Well, like they started that first half, they were the
one flying around getting those turnovers. It's actually started on
a six to ozero run. And then it was back
and forth until we got to twenty to twenty and
then it was all Paint Valley from then. So how
does Paint Valley switch the momentum back on their side
because they don't want to play that up and down
style of the game because Zane Trace is gonna have

(51:39):
more bodies to get in there and keep that pace going.

Speaker 3 (51:42):
And again that's the problem against the Zane Trace team.
They are so good defensively, they can get so many
they cause you so many problems because of their length
and quickness on the defensive end that to get into
anything offensively it's very difficult. Paint Valley was able to
do that early, got them off balance early on, but
once Zane Trace was able to set that defense up,

(52:04):
it was very difficult for Zane Trace so what do
they are very difficult for Payne Valley. Payt Valley has
got to try to get the ball to Carson free
somewhere in the lane, right around the free throw line whatever.
But they have got to get him the ball somewhere
in there so he can work a little bit attack
the bucket because he can really explode and elevate and

(52:24):
get his shot off in the lane over some of
these other guys. So that's going to be a big key,
I think for them offensively.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
So again, thirty seven twenty two at the end of
the first half. Second half action just about to get underway.
We'll take a quick break and we'll be back here
for more action at Paint Valley High School. You're listening
to the Hernstein Hyundai SBC Game of the Week here

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Second half action just about to get underway here at
Paint Valley High School where Zane Trace sleeps thirty seven.
This is game three of our slate tonight. Our first
game was a JV girls game where the Paint Valley
Bearcats were victorious over the Bitton County Vikingness. And then
we had a JV game before this game. And do

(54:55):
you have to score on that one?

Speaker 3 (54:57):
I got Zane Trace winning. I did not write to
score down, but I know Zaane Trace one big in
that JV game tonight.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Out of the half, it'll be Zane Trace. Basketball.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Got Ezra Rip starting here the second half instead of
Noah Houston for Zane Trace. Everyone else's the same starter
that started the game.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Stewart on the wing up top to Robertson Robinson down
low for mccallaugh. Mccallough back to Robertson, Robinson looking to drive,
kicks it out to Stewart.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Stewart on the wing, calling.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Out the offense looking to drive, gets past three and
throws it out of mounds. That'll be a turnover. Give
the ball to the Bearcats again.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Stuart's leading scorer here tonight for all players. He had
sixteen there in that first half.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Out of the turnover, Payne Valley picked up in a
looks like a three quarter court press by the Pioneers,
breaks it across to Reinhart down low, and aftering the offensive,
foul Land and Jarrold stood in there and took the charge.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
They sure did, And again I think it would have
been okay, but Ryanhart sort of put the elbow out,
and when you see the elbow extended like that, they're
gonna call that.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Two turnovers for both sides here to start the second half.
Is seven twenty two left to play. In the third quarter,
it is paint Valley thirty seven. Sorry, Zane Trace thirty seven, Paint.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
Valley twenty two.

Speaker 2 (56:28):
Jerrold across the timeline gets to mccallaugh McCalla over to Rippeth,
Rippeth back to Jerald Jerrold. This is dry, gets in
the lane, has it hoked and deflected out of bounds
off car from Free, so we'll stay with the Pioneers.
The down Low quick substitution here Rhinhart.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
That was his third foul of the game, so he
comes out and number three landed. Elliott in from paint valley.
McCalla triggers it into Jerald Jerrold's pass is tipped out
of mounds there by mL and it'll stay here with
the Pioneers. No score here so far in the second half.

(57:10):
Seven minutes left to go.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
In the third quarter, Jaral up top picked up by Robertson,
gets it over to Stuart Stewart on the wing, back
to Gerald down Low poked Handstone away, there by Free
another turnover for the Pioneers. Robertson across the timeline for
the Bearcats gets it to Free. Free looking to drive,
kicks it out and three point no good thereby Elliott

(57:33):
rebound to Stewart. Daryl the other way off to Rippeth.
Rippeth looking to drive, gets baseline as it poked away
by Robertson, grabs it and puts it back in.

Speaker 3 (57:43):
That's six points on the night. There by Ezra rippeth
the first two points here of the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
Thirty nine to twenty two. Pioneers lead Bearcats across the timeline.
Robertson drives a deep three. That's good, brailing Robertson. That
was twenty two beyond thirty nine twenty five. Pioneers lead
rip it cross court to Stewart. Stewart gets it up

(58:09):
top to Gerald Gerrel picked up by Robertson, and we're
gonna have a legal stream being offensive foul. Looks like
it's gonna be on land In Robertson. It should be
number three on him. That is his third teams first.

Speaker 3 (58:25):
And that's three turnovers here for Zane Trace in.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
The third quarter so far. Paint Valley not really capitalizing
on those turnovers. Nope, three to two so far in
this quarter. Paint Valley leads this quarter, but again down
thirty nine and bounds to Free picked up their full
court by Robertson, free off of Yoakam stream, gets a

(58:51):
cross court to m l up top coming off the
Yoakam screen gets it to free freed Robinson. Robinson another
D three that one's good. Raylan Robertson feeling it here
in the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
Yeah, that's what they need. They needed to get somebody
warmed up here, and so far too for two cuts.

Speaker 2 (59:08):
The Pioneer lead to eleven thirty nine twenty eight five
twenty seven left to go. In the third quarter, Robinson
up top four of the Pioneers, gets it over to Stuart.
Stuart looking to drive his euro step no good, but
he's going to be fouled there by. It was either
Yoakum or Free. Not sure who picked up that foul,

(59:29):
and it's going to be on Yoakum. That's his second team.
Second and again.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
Saint Trace, such good at or such a good team
of getting the ball to the bucket, making those drives
win opportune times, and it's gonna get two free throws
here by Grady Stewart.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
First one up fan good for Stuart. It seems like
a lot of the energy has been left in the
first half here. Both teams kind of coming out a
little sluggish. Stewart's second one no good. Rebound was controlled.

(01:00:12):
Nobody's got control yet oh Yoakam got control and then
McCollum both at control. So we're gonna have a jump
ball position. Arrow goes to the Bearcats.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
We'll get a missed by Grady Stewart leads to a
jump ball opportunity and paint Valley gets the ball full court.
Pressure now by Zane Trace. Paint Valley to inbound, gets
it to Robertson. Robertson picked up full court by Rippeth
across the timeline, hands it off to Elliott.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Elliott gets it back of Robertson's Robertson's found there by
Rippeth On the catch that is Riffiths first team second
of the Elliott ten bound sideline out of bounds for

(01:01:08):
the Bearcats, getting bound to Robinson. Robinson gonna try another three,
same spot he just hit the last one. That one's
no good. Goes out of bounds off of Yoakum and
he caught it and shot it right away, was feeling it.
Four fifty left to go in the third quarter. Pineers
lead forty to twenty eight. Robinson gets it over to Jerald,

(01:01:33):
goes off his foot picked up there by Rippus.

Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
Download to mccalluff. Shot fake up and good could move
there by gunner. McCallum, Yeah, good shot fake two, got
the defender off his foot for off his feet and
was able to take it up strong like Sat forty
two twenty eight stolen away there by Jerald Saint Tracy
the other way, Jared all the way to the bucket
up being good laying in Jerrold, but he's good at

(01:01:57):
getting the ball quickly to the bucket and getting the
ball in seven points on the knight for.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
Jerald forty four to twenty eight and Payt Valley unable
to get it across the time like you're gonna have
to burn a time out, So we'll have a time out.
We'll take a quick break and we'll be back at
Paint Valley High School. You're listening to the herd sign
Hundai SBC gave me leak here on ninety four Country WKKJ.

Speaker 13 (01:02:22):

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Back here at Peyton Valley High School.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
It is Zane Trace on top forty four to twenty
eight with four twelve left to go in the third quarter.
It'll be paint valley ball out of the time out. Yeah,
Coach Locker, he had to call time out there. I
wasn't gonna get it across in ten seconds, so he
bled out his team there, and uh, now they're gonna
be able to set their offense up and they'll in

(01:03:16):
bounce to Robertson. Robertson gets it across the timeline picked up,
they rip it. Robertson off a free squeze, gonna try
a fifteen footer. That's no good rebound, yok him down
though he's shot up, no good or we're having an
offensive foul there on.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
Colton Yoakum.

Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
Looks like he got the rebound, put his shoulder right
back into mccallaugh and that sluggered the offensive foul there.

Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
Yeah, it was a good, strong rebound. But again when
he went to take it back up, he uh lowers
the shoulder. And again anytime you lower the shoulder or
you put that to elbow out, they're gonna call it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Robertson with the ball. Robinson with the ball for the
Pioneers picked up by Elliott gets it over to Jerald
Jerrol up top to Rippet, over to Robertson, down low
to mccallaugh. Mccallaugh shot up, no good rebound, Carson free,
but he's going to be fouled on the rebound.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Look like that's Robinson. That is four on him.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
It's like Robinson has kind of lost his feet there
and got underneath a free that trigger to foul. That
is Robinson's bulls foul team's third.

Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
Yeah, a couple of fowls there on Robinson have been
you know, you don't mind them. They've been aggressive, But
now he's gonna have to sit for a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Robertson gets it on the wing to.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
Right heart.

Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
He's going to be fouled there by Stuart. Well, that's
interesting call. There are a lot of things that have
been going on.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
And then you get Tickie Tec foul that far away
from the.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Bucket that was on Stewart. That's his second. Team's fourth.
Next one will put the Bearcats at the line. Robertson
with the ball picked up by Rippeth, looking down load
for free free spinning picked up by two Pioneers there
and he loses control of it. The ball on the
floor and it looks like you're gonna have a jump
ball there as Stuart and Free both had possession of

(01:05:25):
the ball and the arrow goes to the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
So again Free trying to make something happen inside, but
Zane Tray soon as he put the ball on the
floor there were guys in there going after it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Three five left to go in the third quarter, Pioneers
lead forty four to twenty eight. Stewart with the ball
coming off of mccallar screen lots you get all the
way to the bucket. His shot no good. He's going
to be fouled, sending Grady Stewart back the line. Foul
is on number. They call that on twelve. Yep, Braylen

(01:06:00):
robertson his second team's fourth. Yeah, really nice pick and
roll there by McCullough and Stuart. Stewart came off of
it and thought he could have got all the way
to the bucket, and he tried to but got foul
going there.

Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
First. One up and good for Stuart. Should be point
number eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
On the ninth forty five twenty eight Pioneers lead. Second
shot up by Stuart and it is good. Forty six
twenty eight, three point fifty left to go in the
third quarter. Elliott, with the ball picked up fair by Stewart,
gets it across the timeline and he's going to be

(01:06:41):
hand checked by Stuart and it's going to be a foul,
and that one will send Elliott to the line as
that is the fifteen foul I believe, yep, yes, they
are gonna so yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
I don't know what was discussed there at halftime, maybe
by these officials, but hand checking now is being called
in this game.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
That is the third foul there on.

Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Could think of that?

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
All that was on Stuart his third team's fifth and
you have a substitution for the Pioneer due to Hanks
checks in for Stuart. First one was no good there
for Elliott. Second shot up and that one's good. It's
a forty six twenty nine the Pioneer's League first point

(01:07:33):
of the knight for Elliott. A full court pressure by
the Bearcats. Now mccallaugh gets it to Jerrel, Jerald gets
it across the timeline up to Hanks. Downloaded McCollum, McCollough
gets it out to rip it Rippeth looking the drive
gets in the paint and loses it there, but Jarrell's
right there to get it back for the Pioneers, and
he's going to be fouled. It looks like he was

(01:07:58):
found there by Ace. Rhin Hart will be number four
on Reinhart.

Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
His fourth team's fifth. Yep, he's got to wait to shot.
The opportunity here for Jerald, So we're gonna get a
Yoakam coming back into the game for Reinhart. After the
first shot here Landon Jerald at the line, first one
up and rattles around and in.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
Yo come in for Reinhart and Braziane trace.

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
Is Roman not yet will come in for the shooter.
Second shot by Gerald. That's good. It is nine points
on the night now for Landon Jerrold as you said,
number two Roman Barry checks in for him. Will be

(01:08:58):
paint valley ball.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Elliott gets it across the timeline, gets it over to
free Free Crossport to Elliott. Elliott's gonna line up a three.
That one spins around, no good rebound by Houston. Houston
loses it. Loose ball picked up and still fighting for it.
I don't know who's got it now. The email comes
away from the pile and it's over to Robertson gets

(01:09:27):
it there to Elliott. Elliott in the corner kicks it. Wow,
we've got a foul down low away from the ball.
It's gonna be on number eleven, Judah Hanks on free,
should be free.

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
I don't even know the players thought knew who the
uh so foul was on, but yeah, it was on free.
He's gonna go to the free throw line.

Speaker 12 (01:09:51):
Here they called the foul was on number two, was
on the four board, but I believe it was on Hanks.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
I don't think they've put that one up. The two
is from Reinhart earlier, and I believe it was Hanks
that time. So again all right now, the players are
really having a tough time trying to figure out how
this second half is going to be called by these officials.
You would like to see consistency, but right now there's
a lot of different things. One for two at the

(01:10:23):
line is free.

Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
That is a three in the corner by mL No
good rebound was tipped out of bounds there by free
and that'll be z ain't trace basketball forty eight thirty
A Pioneers lead the minute forty three left to.

Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Go in a third quarter against pressure here by Payt
Valley looking for Gerald pass.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
This complete would have been a touchdown in football right
there on the line, gets it over the rip of
his shot. No good rebound is controlled by free and fouled.

Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
So we'll off the link of.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
The court and we'll shoot some more free throws in
this never ending third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
Well, the good thing now with the new free throw
rule is they are gonna wipe these free throws off
the board and we'll start the fourth quarter and zero outs.
We would be here quite a while shooting a lot
of free throws. Minute thirty eight left to go into
third quarter, Carson Freeze at the line shooting two Pioneers

(01:11:26):
with an eighteen point lead. First one's good for free
and again, you know you harp on referee sometimes, but
you just want consistency as a coach and as a player,
and right now it's very inconsistent from the first half
to the second half.

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Two for two at the line is Carson and free
Valley picking up the full court and bow is to Stewart,
cross court to Jerrold. Jerrold lose it games to control
and gets it in to Stuart. Stewart's gonna try a
three from the wing. That's up in good. Grady Stewart
having a night. Yeah, you cannot leave him open. Free

(01:12:05):
on the wing for the Bearcats looking to drive. Shot
up and that rattles around no good, gets his own
rebound and puts it in.

Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
Really good job there. I'm staying with it there by
Carson free. Fifty four fifty one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Thirty four the Pioneer's lead for a minute five left
to go in the third quarter. Jarrow across the timeline
gets into the lane. His shot, no good. He's gonna
be foubsend. Landon Gerald to.

Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
The line, Yeah, fouls on yokum, that's his fourth. Yeah, there,
they've got some foul trouble right now for paying Valley.

Speaker 12 (01:12:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Land and Gerald at the line right. Had a minute
left to go here in the third quarter. Fifty one
thirty four Pioneer's lead. First one is good for Gerald,
number zero Brennan Iisen five nine Freshman checks in.

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
Four paint Valley. Jerald now in double figures with ten.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Second shot for Jerald, that's up and rattles in two
for two at the line. Fifty three thirty four Pioneers lead.
Elliott across the timeline gets it over to iceon icin
picked up by Hanks, gets it to Robertson. Robertson up top,

(01:13:36):
coming off the screen, gets double team and picked up
by Stewart. Robertson, you're gonna try a three. That's no good,
rattled around and goes to Jerald. Thirty two left to
play in the third quarter. Jerrold across the timeline over
to Stewart. Stewart up top to Rippeth, Rippeth, over to Hanks,

(01:13:59):
Hanks back to the Steward. You were twenty one left
to play, back to Jerald. Jerrold up top, picked up
by Robertson, gets it over to Rippeth, Rippeth to Hanks,
back to Jerald. Ten seconds left to play. Darrow off
to the mccallis screen, gets all the way to play.
No hooks shop off the glass again. Good for Landon.

(01:14:19):
Jerald two seconds left to play oll court.

Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
He we get a we've got to travel. Are they
gonna add time or not? Well, let's talk. Well they're
gonna discuss it. I don't Actually, we're gonna go to
the into the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Finally, after three quarters of play, it is does aane
trace Pioneers fifty five Hat Valley thirty four. You're listening

Welcome back to Peyton Valley School.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Where the score is Zane Trace fifty five Paint Valley
thirty four. As we get ready to start the fourth quarter,
we'll go over to Dad and looks at some stats
from those fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
Yeah, Paint Valley shot the ball three of nine, two
of six from beyond the arc, and four of six
from the free throw line. A lot of free throws
that quarter by both teams, and for Zane Trace there
were five of seven shooting, one for one from beyond
the arc in seven of eight from the free throw line.
So again, hot shooting still continues for Zane Trace.

Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
Will be Paint Valley basketball. To start the third quarter.
It's icing kicks it out the Robertson. Robertson tries the three,
that's short, rebound, goes out of bound. It'll be Zane
Trace basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
So again, Paint Valley here with some uh foul trouble
with two of their starters on the bench.

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
And everybody paused, but the ball was in play. So
Jerald takes the ball and gets it across the timeline.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
They're trying to get a sub in Robinson in the
game for Zane Trace, but again the bald already been
passed a nice pass. Jeral dumped it down to mccallough,
but it was blocked there by free where he gets
it across the timeline, picked up there by mccallough. For
he coming off of Robertson's screen, gets it over to Robertson.

(01:17:21):
Robertson picked up by Jerrel over on the wing to Elliott.

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
Elliott up top to three for he picked up by mccallough.
Not much offense going on right now from the Bearcats.
There's a lot of passing around the perimeter inside Robertson.
Robinson's gonna try fifteen footer and I still got shot
there by Robertson for two.

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
Yeah, and again you were talking about the offense. Freeze
only got five shots on the night. He's gotta get
more shots on the offensive end. And again that's another shot.
That's eleven points on the night for Braylen Robertson. I'm
gonna get time.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
Out here, time out here by the Pioneers scores fifty
five thirty six Pioneers lead. We'll take a quick break
and be back here at Payton Valley High School. You're
listening to the SBC Garoe here on ninety four Country
w KKJ.

Speaker 4 (01:18:18):
For over fifty years, the Haller family has been here
to help families in our area remember the life of
a loved one, share that loved one's legacy, and to
heal as they go through the grieving process. The Howler
family continues to remember Sharon Hell with the area's largest,
most modern facility on site crematory, and most importantly, with
their carrying and dedicated professionals. Each individual's life is unique,

(01:18:40):
and selecting how her funeral home ensures their tribute will
be just as unique, how her funeral home helping families remember,
share and heal.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Fourth quarter action about to resume here at Paint Valley
High School. It is Zane Trace fifty five, Paint Valley
thirty six.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Some scores from around the area on our sister station
wbex chilicothe leads Miami Trace forty to thirty six. In
the third quarter, McLain over or Jackson over McClain twenty
six twenty at half and in the third quarter it
is Washington Courthouse thirty eighth Hillsborough thirty three.

Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
Out of the time out. It would be Zane Trace
basketball jar on the wing, download for mccallaugh. He's shot
up and good just passed everybody. Muro Download to mccallough
for two thirteen points on the knife from McCullough. Ryan
Hart back in the game for the Bearcats on the wing,
gets at the oakum yoakum at the top of the key.

Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
Back to Ryan Hart.

Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Down low looking for Elliott, and we're gonna have a
jump ball.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
And the possession arrow goes to the Bearcats. Landon. Robinson
is just frustrated tonight and nothing seems to be going
his way and he seems to be in the wrong
spot a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
And bounds to Reinhart hands it over to Robinson. Robertson,
coming off a free screen, gets it into the fifteen
foot line, pulls up and that's no good rebound tipped
and we're gonna have a foul there. I believe that's
gonna be on paint valleys. Yep, that looks like number
three handon Elliott. But it is a new quarter, so

(01:20:32):
we're not shooting free throws anymore, so we'll have a
sideline out of bounds for the Pioneers. Pioneers lead fifty
seven to thirty six in the fourth quarter, five fifty
seven left to play.

Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
Twenty one point lead, the largest of the night for
is Aye trace and again it goes back to that
twenty to twenty score.

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
Grippis with the ball for the Pioneers. Download for Stuart.
Stuart gets it out to the corner, up top to
Jerrold Jerrel download McAll it another nice path. Jerald to
mccaullaugh for two.

Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
And again. That's a nice thing about this team. They
are well rounded and they like to share the basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
Fifty nine thirty six Pioneers lead. Free on the wing
for the Bearcats, gets it up top to Elliott. Elliott
picked up by Jarl, gets it the free free hands
at the Robertson. Robertson looking for Yoakam looking for free
down low and Free's going to be fouled. Look like

(01:21:31):
a foul on Jerald there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Yes, that's.

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
Of the baseline out of bounds for the Pioneers. That's
the team's first substitutions. Houston and Hanks check back in
for the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
Is that right? Is it Gerald's first foul? That's shure
looks like it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
That is first teams first and bound to Robertson. Robertson
fifteen footer, no good rebound goes for Robinson.

Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
Quickly. The other way to rip it, Rippeth lays.

Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
It in for two sixty one thirty six in the
fourth quarter with four fifty left to play in the
Pioneers League.

Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
Well, this is what the depth and the UH pressure
can do the teams here by Zane Trace, they can
just wear on you. As the game goes on, Binhart
to Yoakum, Yoakum are old. Well, this is gonna be
a game that land and Robinson is going to forget
quickly because it seems like he just never was able

(01:22:44):
to get involved. A lot of things were going on
that he really didn't have any control of. So that's
gonna be five fouls on Robinson again. He is a
great player here for the Zane Trace team. It's just
not his knife. But that's that's the good thing about
the Same three team is they got other guys that
can fill.

Speaker 12 (01:23:02):
In for him.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
So we'll have Colton Yoakum at the line shooting two
first one's no good. Second one up for Yoakum, no
good tipped and controlled by Yoakum, got his own rebound,

(01:23:25):
kicks it out to Elliott in the corner to Ryan Hart.

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
Reinhardt's gonna try three from the corner. That's good that
it says, second three pointer of the night. Six points,
sixty one, thirty nine four twenty six left to play
in the contest. Jerald up top, gets it over to Rippeth,
rip it back to Jerald. Jerald driving baseline, thought about
a fifteen foot kicks it out and that was Hanks.

(01:23:51):
Hanks shot was no good. Rebound goes through Robertson. Robertson
coming off with Carson Free screen gets it up top
and Carson Free is gonna try a three and he
hits it. Only a six shot on the night. As
I said, he does a good job of getting to
the free throw line a lot, but he's gotta get
more shots for this Paint Valley team to be successful.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Sixty one, forty two the Pioneer's lead. That's Houston on
the wing, picks up this drivel looking for Gerald. But
we're gonna have a time out. Vaine Trace thirty second
time out. We'll take a quick break and be back here.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
Back here at Paint Valley High School, it'll be a
sideline out of bounds, out of the time out for
the Pioneers. They lead sixty three forty one left to
play in the fourth quarter. Stuart in bounds to Jerald
Cheryld picked up by Robertson. Gerald hands it to Houston,
over to Stewart. Stewart on the wing and the drive

(01:25:39):
gets it over to Rippeth. Jeryl getting double gets it
over to Rippeth down low mccallu gets it out to Stuart.

Speaker 3 (01:25:46):
Stewart for free. That one's no good. Free bound Paint
Valley comes the other way quickly up the floor to
Carson free. He drives down the middle of the lane,
ball knocked away, throws it out to l for a
three in and out rebound. Yoakum yoakum shot. No good
gets his rebound his second shot no.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
Good controlled there by Stewart of the Pioneers, by the way,
goes the rep goes down. I think he's all right.
It looks like he's all right. Took a tumble there.
I believe he collided with a player. But he is
up and he's smiling, and we are good.

Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
No foul called.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
We'll have a sideline out of bounds for the Pioneers.

Speaker 15 (01:26:35):
Sixty one.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
The Pioneers lead, two fifty six left to go in
the fourth quarter. Gerald Houston, driving baseline all the way
to the remedy, throws it in. Noah Houston showing off
the hops. Wasn't ready for that. Five points on the
knife for Houston. Brian Hart for three. That's no good.

(01:26:59):
Rebound goes a free free down though has it stolen
away there by Stewart quickly the other way or the
Pioneers at time. Is Ripeth going to the lane and
he's going to be fouled. Send him Ezra Rippeth to
the line.

Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
Four two, and I think that's going to foul uh
yoke him out of the game. I believe no they
called that on. I don't know if they have the
We're still waiting on the call here. I think it's

(01:27:37):
five thousand. I think we got a quick trip to
the trainer by the ref who fell down. But again,
I believe that is five on yoakum. They don't have
it on the scoreboard, but it is five thousand they
have told the coach, So we need to get a
sub in the game. Nobody seems to be in any

(01:28:00):
hurry here right now.

Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Wall we'll have action tomorrow night at at Dilla High
School where we have SPC girls action right here on
ninety four Country. WKKJ just got a text from your sister.

(01:28:22):
Didn't know what was you doing to play by play.
She says, you're doing a great job. Figure out out there.
To Taylor, looks like we finally got our substitution in
and still waiting on the referee over there, and eventually

(01:28:43):
we're going to have Rippeth at the line shooting too.
I don't know if he must have cut his hand
because they were trying to patch it up so you
can get out there on the floor to twenty six

(01:29:05):
here to go in the fourth quarter, and looks like
we're getting ready to go. All right, he's got the
hand taped up and we are back in action.

Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
After these free throws. Rippeth has eight points tonight, looking
forward to get into double.

Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
Figures as we're a Rippith of the line. First one
up and that is good. Makes it sixty four or
forty two. With two twenty six left to go in
the fourth quarter. Substitution for a paint that for ain't

(01:29:45):
grace sorry. Lance Stevens checks in for Landon Gerald. Second shot,
no good by Rippeth and that ball goes out of
mounds off Zane Trace. It'll be paint Valley basketball. With

(01:30:05):
two twenty six left to play, in bound to Stevens
of the bear Sorry. Elliott of the Bearcats gets it
across the timeline, gets it down into the lane, looking
to kick it out, gets it the Reinhardt driving, gets
to the free throw line and kicks it out with Robertson.
Robertson a deep three. That's no good. Rebound two Tanks

(01:30:29):
of the Pioneers. Two minutes left to play in the
fourth quarter, sixty four forty two Pioneer lead, rip it
up top, gets it over to Houston and the quarters.
Stevens another substitution, Roman Barry came in for the Pioneers.

(01:30:49):
Stevens drives and puts up a hook shot.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
In nice for to see him get into the scoring
column here in the varsity game.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Makes it sixty six forty two, and we're gonna have
a time out. I believe they're just gonna do some
maps substitutions here. Five guys in there from Penny Valley.
We'll try to get all those numbers there.

Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
Christ if you can.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Let's see we got number five Carter Elliott out there,
Number zero brendan Issen, which is like number eleven Team Scott,
number twenty two Gabriel the Hoyas. And is there another
one out there? Number one James Thompson for the Bearcats.

(01:31:33):
And that is Thompson with the ball. And he shuffled defeat.
Little excitement to get in the basketball game tonight and
want have to turnover for the Bearcats. Just under ninety
seconds left to play in this contest. Jane Trace, that's
Barry with the ball. Rives getting the lame float shot up,

(01:31:54):
no good rebound goes to Thompson of the Pioneers gets
it over to Icon. Icon loses control, but gets it
back in the corner, has it tipped out of mounds
there by the Pioneers, and'll stay here with the Bearcats
for a minute eight left to play in the fourth quarter,

(01:32:16):
Thompson den bound gets it into Elliott. Elliott steps out
of bounds. It'll be Pioneer basketball with a minute six
left to play. Sixty six forty two the Pioneer's lead
roman Berry across the timeline or the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (01:32:41):
Up stops as.

Speaker 2 (01:32:42):
Stevens has it tipped and controlled there, and we're gonna
have a foul be a baseline out of bounds for
the Pioneers. The vowel is on number eleven, king Scott
his first team's third.

Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
Of the quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
Stevens then bound gets it into Kaiser Barry drive floats
on that one's good roman Berry for two.

Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
Good strong drive there by. Barry, once he found the opening,
got all the way to the bucket. Strong move.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
Sixty eight forty two, thirty eight seconds left to play.
Icon in the corner, Drives gets it into the lane,
was tied up there gets free Dries at fifty that's
good Brendan Iisen the young freshman with two points.

Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
And these are moments that some of these kids are
going to have here for the first time. Try to
get some opportunity at the Parsa level and fality seconds
as they're counting down here. So I guess it's going
to be it getting nice showing by Zane Trace here tonight.
After a close game early they were able to open
it up and extend the lead to this twenty four

(01:33:59):
points twins and.

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
That I'll do it here four tonight's contest. Your final

Welcome back to Payne Valley High School, where your final
score was sixty eight forty four. The Zane Trace Pioneers
come out victorious. The Paint Valley Bearcats fall to six
and seven overall, five and five in the SBC, and
Zane Trace goes to thirteen and two overall ten in
one in the SBC. We'll go over to Coach and
look at some stats from tonight's contest.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
Yeah again, Zane Trace led it all points as far
as h stoppage of the game. They were up eighteen
to seventeen after one quarter, thirty seven to twenty two
at the half, fifty five thirty four in the third quarter,
and again your final score sixty eight to forty four.
Overall numbers four Peint Valley. They were fifteen of forty
two shooting thirty six percent, six of seventeen from beyond

(01:39:15):
the arc thirty five percent, and eight of thirteen from
the free throw line sixty two percent. Did a much
better job of taking care of the basketball in the
second half. They ended up with fourteen turnovers for Zane Trace.
They were twenty six of forty three sixty one percent,
five of fifteen from beyond the arc. Again, they were
four of thirteen in the first half from beyond the arc.

(01:39:36):
So they did a much better job in the second half.
They didn't shoot as many uh and they took care
of the basketball and shot it much better. Uh So,
again five of fifteen from beyond the arc thirty three percent,
and they were ten of fifteen from the free throw
line for sixty seven percent. And again, we're going to
have a coach. We'll start with coach Tyler Cassidy of

(01:40:00):
the victorious. Zane Trace Pioneers coach, can you hear me? Okay, Yeah,
I hear it all right, So coach, you know, tough game,
especially early in this game. Paint Valley came out and
they were ready to go right from the get go.
But I think the game sort of turned. There was
a twenty two or twenty twenty game and you guys

(01:40:21):
went on a seventeen to two run there to end
the second the first half, and that just sort of
settled your team down and you were able to take
it the rest of the way.

Speaker 15 (01:40:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 21 (01:40:31):
I think Paint Valley did a good job of coming out,
playing at home with a lot of energy, and they
were very physical, especially you know, they executed pretty well
in the half court. But even if they didn't make
their shots, we were struggling to rebound against them. They
did a good job offensive rebound and getting second third opportunities.
But we just talked, you know, we called time out
there and just challenged our guys at our toughness level

(01:40:52):
wasn't where it needed to be. And you know, I
thought that our assignment wise we were doing okay, but
we just in our spots, we weren't playing with very
good toughness as the game went on in the second quarter,
I think that got better.

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
And again, your team is one of those teams that
I look at and I say, you know what, there's
not really one player every night that's going to come
out and yu, but you have a team that different
guys can step up. And tonight was not the knight
for Landon Robinson. He really struggled to get anything going,
got into foul trouble. But again your other guys came

(01:41:24):
in and stepped up. The guy's standing next to you,
Grady Stewart, he did a great job on the offensive end.
But guy like Landon Gerald. Fifth game now for Landing
of the season, and I thought he really played a
good overall game for you time.

Speaker 21 (01:41:38):
Yeah, Landon Robinson started out in foul trouble in the
first quarter. Tried to play him there in the second
some but very choppy because he was coming in coming out.

Speaker 15 (01:41:46):
We're trying to protect him a little bit.

Speaker 21 (01:41:48):
Comes out, gets his third early in the second half,
and then was in foul trouble. They're on out and
eventually fouls out of the game in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 15 (01:41:55):
So it's a.

Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
Struggle for him tonight.

Speaker 21 (01:41:57):
But you know, when he did foul in the game,
I just told him, you know, look at the score.

Speaker 15 (01:42:00):
It's not about you.

Speaker 21 (01:42:01):
And that's the kind of culture we're trying to embrace,
and he understands that and just being selfless and continuing
to be a leader from the sideline.

Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
I think you talked about Land and Jerald.

Speaker 21 (01:42:13):
He has gotten better every single game, every single week
that he's been back, and it's really exciting to see
how he creates so much for us offensively, you know,
early defensively, A lot of our holding teams in the
thirties is because of our possessions. We didn't have as
many possessions. Maybe is what we do now. But with
Land and Jerrold pushing the ball for us and getting
up and down the floor a little bit more, you

(01:42:34):
might see us score a little bit more, But then
we might be holding our other teams in the forties
or fifties.

Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Coach a tough place to come and play on the road.
You were able to get it done here tonight, and
you know it just continues for you next week. I
believe you're off tomorrow, but I believe you come back
next Tuesday home game at West Fall with West Fall
and then next Friday a home game with you and
you had a big week for you coming up.

Speaker 21 (01:42:58):
Yeah, we actually do have mcclaim mcclaim tomorrow, so we
got that one non league and then we have a
stretch of our last six games, five of them are
at home. It just kind of happened out where those
games got canceled. But you know, we we got west
Fall next week and then followed by Yunioda and for
our goals that are right there in front of us
coming through our place. We know that we've got a

(01:43:19):
lot of games left on the schedule that are going
to be difficult.

Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
We just try to, you.

Speaker 21 (01:43:24):
Know, talk about staying in the moment and staying present,
don't worry about the things that have happened in the past,
and don't look too far in the future, and just
be present, present and really enjoy the moment.

Speaker 15 (01:43:34):
And I would just like to say.

Speaker 21 (01:43:35):
This guy right here, Grady Stewart was injured pretty much
the whole summer, and with me as a head coach,
knew coming in. I was like I knew I knew Grady,
and I knew he was a good player, but I
didn't know how good of a player he was. Going
to be for us, and he's just he's a humble,
hard working kid, and his potential is sky high and
he's super coachable and the skill and the ability that

(01:43:58):
you see on the floor, it really matches his character
and the kind of person that he is and he's
a joy to coach.

Speaker 3 (01:44:04):
Well, coach, congratulations tonight, Best of luck to you next week.
We'll be with you in both those games at home
next week and we'll get a chance here to talk
to Grady.

Speaker 15 (01:44:12):
All right, thank you, yep.

Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
So we're going to now talk to junior Gratty Stewart,
who ended up with twenty two points on the night tonight. Grady,
you're a tough kid to guard because you can take
the ball of the hole, but you can shoot it.
What happens to your eyes when you find yourself wide open?
Nobody's there.

Speaker 22 (01:44:38):
I just really look for the shot most time, and
then if I start hitting, I know that I have
to drive because people jump out on me. Sometimes face guard,
but honestly props my teammates and everything, especially LJ. He
drives in, has good, good kicks, gets me wide open, honestly,
and sometimes gone on a call too.

Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
You guys do a good job of moving without the
ball and finding the open areas. And as you said,
LJ does a great job of getting you to you
knowing where you're going to be. What does that come
with just playing with each other for a long time
or just sort of knowing where you're gonna be.

Speaker 22 (01:45:13):
Yeah, I mean I've kind of grew up with what's
like this whole team. No one's really new, and honestly,
it's just a team chemistry. It's really well, like you said,
just like driving kicks, it works all around. And I
mean with being out this whole summer and then LJ
getting injured at the beginning of the year, it's kind
of tough coming back.

Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
We had to get used to it.

Speaker 22 (01:45:32):
But I feel like we've jumped really well from where
we started at the beginning of season. So now I
feel like we're doing really good.

Speaker 3 (01:45:38):
What do you like better, shooting the three or driving
it to the whole?

Speaker 22 (01:45:43):
Honestly, I like shooting it, but you know, some days,
if you're not on, you have to drive it to
get yourself going, and I feel like that's a big thing.

Speaker 3 (01:45:51):
Well, you can shoot the ball extremely well and again
tonight twenty two points. Let me ask you this. What
did you think about Noah Houston put down there?

Speaker 2 (01:46:00):
We will wait for that. If we see you get
the lane to the hoop like that. Are we gonna
see that out of you sometime?

Speaker 22 (01:46:06):
I don't know if I can jump to high.

Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
Maybe on a good day. All right, Well, congratulations tonight, Grady,
and best luck as you go on forward in the year.
Thank you, all right, Grady store twenty two points tonight
for these Zane Trace Pioneers. As again they are Victoria's
sixty eight forty four, and again I think we had
Coach Lockery around here. Get him out here and talk

(01:46:31):
to him about his paint Valley Bearcats. But again, very
humble team is Zane Trace. And again they support one another,
play well together. And we're gonna get Coach Lockery here
on the headsets and talk to him a little bit. Coach,
I thought your team came out extremely well here tonight.

(01:46:52):
You took it right to Zane Trace from the get go,
and I thought your team played extremely hard early in
the game.

Speaker 15 (01:47:00):
We actually came out really, really good. We had a
great start.

Speaker 23 (01:47:03):
We focused on having a good start some of our
games here recently, we've struggled with starting just our effort
and our energy at the beginning, and then as the
game goes we started to pick it up. But tonight
we started off well. I thought we gave him a
great punch in the beginning. Our second quarter was probably
one of our worst we've had in a while. We've
I think we went out five coincident in that second quarter.

(01:47:24):
Then you know, obviously the the runs that they had
in that second quarter. We go down fifteen after just
being down too after the first. So that was the
struggle and that was the game right there, that stretch
right there was a big hill to come back from
a team like Zane Trace. They are well rounded, got
a fire punch in every aspect of the game.

Speaker 15 (01:47:41):
Shooters playing the post.

Speaker 23 (01:47:42):
Their post player, I mean not a big guy, but
plays the post very well, great feet work. So those guys,
hats off to those guys. They played well tonight. But
you know, we competed. We was there. I think we're
in moments, you know, especially in that second quarter, and
we could not couldn't get a call. I don't do
that with the ref game, but man, tonight was I
felt like there was it was one sided. Uh and

(01:48:03):
and I hate that for my kids, man, because they
they were digging deep and fighting, uh and and just
wasn't getting the same calls on the other end. But regardless
of the fact that there was moments throughout that game
that you know, we could have still capitalized and made
things better for ourselves and not let the rest make
a call or put that in the ref's hand. So
we just gotta be better. We got to come back tomorrow.
You know, mindset of the game is just to move
on to the next one right now. That put us

(01:48:26):
I think one game below five hundred, so our mindset
and the goal is to get right back to it.

Speaker 15 (01:48:30):
So get back at that five hundred level.

Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
And again, coach, you know, talking about your your start,
I thought your kids came out very confident. And when
your kids play with confidence, they are a really good team.
And you got three solid scorers that can really put
the ball in the in the hoop and that's a
tough thing to play against as you go on down
the road. Do you think about league play and also
tournament play, No.

Speaker 15 (01:48:52):
You're right.

Speaker 23 (01:48:52):
We you know, our our three guys with Jason, Carson
and Brailer, they are our team. Go as high as
those guys were scoring, and we know that U and
our other guys give us complimentary minutes at moments as well.
So it's for us, it's just making sure that we
can continue to stay the course, do the right things offensively. Uh,
you know, we got three, but man, I tell you
Zane Trace got five or six.

Speaker 15 (01:49:14):
So yeah, that's the difference sometimes.

Speaker 23 (01:49:17):
But you know, like I said, for us, our confidence, man,
it's it's growing. And I tell kids, I tell our
guys all the time, we're one of those teams we're
a dangerous team. We can be dangerous, we can be
I guarantee you. Teams do not want to just play us.
They don't never know what they're gonna get from our
guys offensively or defensively. And for us that that makes it,
you know, kind of a secret weapon when we step

(01:49:39):
in and if we do our job correctly we go
out there a lot of times that results turn to
win for us.

Speaker 3 (01:49:44):
So well, coaches this time of year with the cancelations
and things, I think you've got a game tomorrow at
West Fall, Yes, and then next Tuesday you come back
home against the Valley in the non league game, and
then next Friday at Huntington. So again, you get you
get to go right back out on the court tomorrow.

Speaker 23 (01:50:00):
Right, we break it down, We break it down by
week by week, you know, our two to three game
and we kind of just focus on those two three
games throughout our season at that time, right whatever's ahead
of us, So we break it down.

Speaker 15 (01:50:11):
We talked about it this week.

Speaker 23 (01:50:13):
You know, Tuesday we had our game here and then
I mean, actually I'm sorry, Tuesday we didn't have our game.
We were off, but then we have our game tonight tonight,
and then we got it tomorrow. So with that being tomorrow,
you know, we're just gonna come back, focus on getting
back in the morning, kind of get the work, get
ready for tomorrow evening, and then turn our turn the
channel to next week. It's gonna be a big week
for us. So we got for us, it's just staying

(01:50:34):
of course, you know how these this season is. It's
a long season. Just staying healthy, staying healthy and trying
to fight this bug that it's one of my boys right there, Corey,
how are you buy? Thank you for coming to support.

Speaker 3 (01:50:47):
Well, coach, best luck do you as you go forward
and hope we get seed down the road. I appreciate you, right, welcome,
and that's Coach Lockery of the Pay Valley Bearcats again
tonight on the short end of a sixty eight four
four score against the Zane Trays Pioneers. Well, let me
go over some scoring here individually on the night. For
Paint Valley they were led tonight by Carson Free with

(01:51:10):
eighteen points, Braylan Robinson with a Robertson with eleven, six
points by Jase Reinhart, four points by Jackson Emmel Colton
Yoakam with two, Landon Elliott with one, and also Brendan
Eisen with two points for the Paint Valley Bearcats. For
Zane Trace individually, they were led tonight by Gratty Stewart.

(01:51:33):
Gunner McCullough had a gritty story had twenty two. Gunner
McCullough had fourteen thirteen points to night by Landon Gerald
again a good all around game by Jerald probably had
at least five or six, if not more, assists on
the game. Then we go down to nine points by
Ezra Rippeth, five points for Noah Houston again. That slam

(01:51:54):
sort of got the crowd going there and got Grady
Stewart excited. Roman Berry with two points and also Land
Stevens in with two points tonight for the Zane Trace Pioneers. Well, Chris,
you and I are going to be busy here. Tomorrow
will be at a Dina with the Unioto and Adena Girls.
That'll be here on w KKJ. Also Tuesday, Chris and

(01:52:17):
I will be at Zane Trace for Westfall at Zane
Trace Boys game. And then next Friday, Jacob Wise will
be back with me hopefully and that'll be Uniodo at
Zane Trace. So a big week coming up here on
w KKJ. And Chris, it's always a pleasure to do
games with you. Get out of the house with you,

(01:52:38):
and you know, I know people probably out there have
no idea who's talking when we're talking because we sound
so similar. But again, it's always a pleasure to do
game with you. Yeah, pleasure is all mine.

Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
I guess Tyler Cassidy said it, well, you know, they
take it one game at a time, but I think
for guys like us that aren't coaching that art plan,
we could say you know that Zane you have a
rematch is gonna be something.

Speaker 3 (01:53:02):
It sure is. And again we appreciate you joining in
tonight on the Hernstein Hundai SVC Game of the Week.
Big thanks to Sydney Newsom back in the studio for
all she does to make us sound and get us
on the air and hopefully we bring some excitement to you.
So for Chris postage, I'm Lou postage, We'll see you
tomorrow night out at Adina High School. So good evening everyone.
